Panda opened in the early 1990s and was the last of a succession of restaurants in this space. The building was built as Jensen's Fine Food and Spirits and closed in the early to mid 1980s. It then had a brief period as The Four Seasons restaurant. The outside of the building has not changed much at all over the years... but what's inside has remained as one of the best Chinese restaurants I've had the pleasure of experiencing, and that includes places I've been to in Chicago. After moving to Chicago in 1997, I have only been back to Panda a few times, and I'm pleased to say that the quality of the food has never gone down. My favorite dish has always been the Orange Chicken. It's spicy and sweet, and the chicken is crunchy and flavorful. I have yet to find another establishment that makes it better, or even as well. The rice is perfectly sticky and delicious, and the soups are the best I've ever had. My sister has a gluten intolerance and Panda always has plenty of selections she can choose from. If you have never been there, do yourself a favor and check it out.

My wife and I were in the area and decided to go for Chinese. We looked up Chinese on the GPS and were heading to the small restaraunt (New China Chinese?) and we were passign by Panda. A quick glance made me change my mind and I am very glad we did. At first when we got there the restaurant was dead. We were the only people there. However, it was around 5:20. It did not take long though for the restaurant to fill. Let me tell you the cooks are FAST! We ordered spring rolls and egg rolls. Both were hot, crispy, and delicious. My enree was generals Chicken and my wife had them make Sesame Shrimp, which was not listed on the menu. The enrees arrived very quickly and were great. The Generals chicken was slightly crispy under the sauce as it should be. I almost forgot how good Chinese food could be (too much Chinese Buffet slop). Since were are not from Kenosha if we are back there is no doubt that we will go back to Panda.

Went to this place to get carryout based on yelp reviews. The food was totally disgusting. Friendly people and nice interior but the food is spotty at best. I think I am better off trying my luck cooking Asian food (which I know nothing about). Don't waste your money.

Phone service has become much better. Food quality is still awesome! Great Chinese food...sesame chicken is so delicious and if you need something spicy, try the scheczhuan chicken

We just ordered delivery for their sweet and sour pork, along with some orange beef. The service/delivery was fast and nice, but the food was practically inedible. The sweet and sour pork was bland, but the orange beef was actually okay at first, but ultimately seemed old and mushy... really gross. To top it off, the fortune cookies were even incredibly spoiled/stale. Certainly won't be ordering ever again.

Don't be deterred by the building's exterior. It looks plain, dark and gloomy but inside it is nicely decorated and well lit. They even have a small bar, an area of buffet, and a large banquet/dining room area. While prices are average, the taste is EXCELLENT. Hands down my top Chinese eatery in Kenosha (not like there is much competition)... I enjoy their fried rice with chicken or beef, their sweet and sour chicken (that is packed separately from the sauce to leave its crunchiness) and pea pod beef. They are very friendly, compared to other favorite Chinese places I could name off. Just good luck with getting out of their strangely designed parking lot. ;)

I agree with Richie about looking the simple exterior and decor. We order delivery from Panada often at work, and they are great. I can't remember the name of the fried rice dish I get, but it has SO much meat in it - chicken, steak, shrimp and pork. Easily three meals for me. Their egg rolls are good, too. I'm a fan whenever they use peanut butter in the eggs rolls, and I'm pretty sure that's a trick here.

This was a big let down after all the reviews. I wanted a light lunch so I ordered an egg roll and beef skewers. The egg roll was unimpressive which is the best part of Asian food. The beef skewers were dry, hard, crispy and had a fishy taste. It was like fish flavor beef jerky on a stick. I dont usually get beef skewers and if that's how it's supposed to be then they were perfect. The food was not hot at all and like it was pre made for lunch. I did get carry out and they have a lunch buffet the signe says. The food came so fast I think they took it off buffet and gave it to me. Less than four miniutes from in and out the door. I was amazed at how fast the food came that it had to have been cooked and waiting. The place was nice looking and clean so I had high hopes but they totally struck out. If they do have some good food I will never know because I'm going to stick with chens bestro where I have never been let down.

I was a bit skeptical about getting food from Panda Szechwan Restaurant because the more recent reviews were very negative but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I am so glad that I did!! I went there yesterday and ordered a carryout of mongolian beef, orange beef, sesame chicken, egg rolls and crab rangoons and I was quite impressed. I went in and ordered and the place looked nice and clean, the lady who took my order was very nice and she told me that it would be 10 to 15 minutes. My food was ready in 10 minutes and when I got home with it, it was super fresh and delicious! I especially loved the orange beef and the mongolian beef. The sesame chicken was good (better than most) and my daughter loved the crab rangoons. The only thing that wasn't that great was the egg roll but I can deal with that because the rest of the food made up for it. I live in Waukegan and don't like any of the Chinese restaurants in my area so I am so glad that I finally found a Chinese restaurant that lives up to my standards!! It is worth the 12 miles there and back to get delicious Chinese food. This will be my go-to place from now on when I want Chinese food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
