Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Picked it by driving down the road, noticed that the other restaurants in the area had nobody in their parking lots. Figured this place should be good if the parking lot is packed. Took the last spot in the parking lot and the next to the last table in the restaurant. Both of us ordered the 1/2 lb burger special because the deal was too cheap to pass up (~$2.79 each with fries). Service was very quick and friendly. We got our burgers fast because they accidentally gave us someone else's order. But even so, the service would have been quick. My burger was excellent. My brother's was not quite what he ordered (cuz it was someone else's). Marking down 1/2* for decor - '70's dive woodpanel with weird red floor tile in the clean bathrooms. Marking down 2* for the video poker - just tacky and brings in the some very sad downtrodden drunks. But the unbeatable price and excellent service brings it back up to 4* total. Will probably go back if I'm in the area.

Mediocre.... There's a ton of pizza places in kenosha, this one is okay. We called for a pretty big delivery order one night (over $100) and I wanted green olives on my burger. Girl on the phone was pretty rude and said if it's not on the menu they can't do it. Seriously.... Then she told me they could give me olives on the side... So you have them, they can only get cooked on pizza tho?! Got it....

My boyfriend enjoys this place. Out of all the pizza places in Kenosha we pick this one.

Ordered the cheese sausage and mushroom pan pizza. More mushroom than sausage, way too much cheese and the dough is under cooked with areas of raw. Pizza was extremely soggy. They should consider a different means of cooking the pan pizza to keeo the bottom crisp. The sauce tastes like the same sauce they use for all the dishes. Overall I would have been better off throwing a frozen pizza in the oven.

Train wreck of an establishment. We were in town for a wedding and ordered pizza from our hotel room. The pizza was soaking through the box, which the delivery driver wasn't concerned about. The pizza was not cut and was a big coagulated nasty mess. We called back and the not so friendly staff member said the only thing she could do would was to send out the delivery driver with a pizza cutter. We asked for the delivery driver to come back, pick up the pizza, and refund us which caused the lady on the phone to begin yelling like her hair was on fire. I called on three occasions and talked to managers who said they would pass my contact info to the owner. No call from owner. Luckily we took photos of the pizza which have been posted above. Enjoy.

My favorite pizza place in Kenosha. The menu is reasonably priced and there are deals every day of the week. Mondays half off pizza and Sundays buy one get one free appetizers. The hot sauce on the wings is the best way to go. A very casual environment and delicious meal any time.

The pizza is nothing to write home about, and their prices are a tad too high for what I am getting. I'd recommend going another place in Kenosha other than Derango.

I had Derango's a good handful of times as a kid when I would stay at my grandparents place on the north side of town. I always enjoyed the pizza back then and have eaten here twice in the two times I've come back to town in the last 6 or 7 months. I thought the pizza was just as good both those times as it was a kid. The burgers are pretty good as well. This place looks like it has been renovated some over the years which is good because it needed a little brighter appearance. In my opinion Kenosha is king when it comes to thin crust pizza (no, not "NYC" thin crust) and Derango's is one of my favorites in a town that has a lot of good pizza places.

Just had a great big burger and it was really tasty. Best burgers in town! Had it delivered. Only took about 20 minutes.

Went to Derango's as a kid. Had fond memories of the place. It used to have decent food. Not sure what has happened since then. Unfortunately it has gone completely downhill and needs major improvement. I sure hope they're going to pay attention to their customers reviews or else it shall end up closed very soon. One of the biggest problems I have is that I've heard two people say they've gotten sick from there. After taking the chance of eating there I understand why. My girlfriend and I were there recently and ordered the Lasagna. We asked the rushed (nearly rude) waitress what her suggestion was as we have never eaten there. Didn't really give us a very good idea of what to eat.. Asked her if the lasagna was good and she said yeah it's really good. Okay.... Clearly the lasagna was sitting for at least a week or more.. I'm pretty sure they just warmed it up in the microwave and put their disgusting red sauce on. I tried to think of a friendly way to describe their sauce but I need to be honest. My girlfriend was very hungry so she kept eating it. She later got sick :( I wouldn't say it was food poisoning but her stomach was very upset through the next morning. I do not re comment eating their food. A friend we were with did mention their burgers were good though. After he got it it looked and smelled fresh. My other friend that ordered from their had a sausage bomber. She told me she definitely got food poisoning. She was throwing up and had to sit on the toilet. She called them to tell them and they said she was probably sick before she ate there and were rude to her. PLEASE get some professional help as whoever is managing/owning the place is driving it into the gutter. The food needs to be much fresher. The menu needs to be updated. The interior needs to be updated. There were quite a few trashy people in there playing on the poker machines. What are you thinking people?

Yes, the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired if you are not a sports bar fan, but the pizza is still the real deal. It looks like they are remodeling though, which means this place could easily move up to five stars. There is a reason this place consistently places in the top three in the area in pizza cook offs. The pizza is that good. The lunch specials are unheard of in this day and age, and an outstanding value. Their brats are wonderful too. Personally, I like the sausage they use. The sauce is solid, and there is a lot of cheese on the pizza, so order to your preference. It's a Kenosha institution that really should be tried once. I suspect you'll be hooked once you do.

Bargain heaven on a plate. I have attended Derango's since it opened many years ago. Back then, it was a simple family restaurant lost in a sea of similar quality eateries scattered along the North side. Since then, traditional restaurants have passed on or slipped substantially. In the meantime, Derango's updated its interior (to a divey sport's bar) and expanded their already massive menu of pizza and Italian-American food with fried appetizers and the like. Although their interior redesign was silly, their unwillingness to sacrifice quality and gorge their customers keeps willing me back when I visit Kenosha. Bottom Line: Eat a lot of great-tasting food, but spend a little. Kenosha's best full service value restaurant.

Derango's used to be a favorite, but since their increased emphasis on being a sports bar, I feel both the quality of their food and service have slipped substantially. I wish Joe would kick it up a notch and win me back.

Bad experience, Tv was loud upon walking in, tables were dirty, service was slow, food was ok, not the best

It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get a cold pizza that was squashed to one side of the box and a lasagna on a Mon night. Every time we called the told us something different and it should be any minute, then when we got a manager they said they would remake it and send it out again, that was all they could do. When you have 4 kids 10:00 is too late for dinner! Thanks though! Food was so so, lasagna was drowned in a bland sauce that tasted like it was straight from a can and the pizza crust had no flavor. For $35, and a place that has pizza king in the name I would expect better. We will see what the second go is like! Other wise we will stick to Dominoes! Second Pizza looked much better and was hot, but 3+ hours after I originally ordered wasn't so hungry any more. Second pizza had some scattered mushrooms in it, which we didn't order, Lasagna was still not good, Stouffer's would have been better and they forgot the salad! We will try eating there to give them a second chance, anyone can have an off night, just can't believe the way they handled the problem.

So the thing about Derango's isn't that their food is awesome or the atmosphere is to die for. No, there are two reasons to go to Derango's that I can come up with: going with a great group of friends and having a good time regardless of where you end up and trying to save some moeny with good deals. I find myself taking advantage of both of these on almost a weekly basis. If you're going to go to Derango's for pizza, do it on a Monday night. After 9pm, the pizza is half off if you eat half of it. That means the pizza is just about dirt cheap. Even better, after 9pm every night of the week Burgers and brats are $1.50. Oh, and we're not talking dinky little things that wouldn't satisfy a starving squirrel, either. These are quality half-pound burgers and brats that reek with old-fashioned sports bar charm. Outside of that the food is all pretty standard. The Philly Cheesesteak is a hidden gem, so keep an eye out for that. And for the adventurous "Man vs. Food" types out there, ask about the 'Ol 59er. I'll just leave it at that.

Deserves a 1.5. Food is very so-so. I ordered a pizza turnover, which was very similar to the pizza turnover at The Fireside, except that resturant has much better food. Service here at Derango's was lackluster. Atmosphere left much to be desired, especially the other patrons and their tragic apparel choices. Decor of this restaurant was just like someone's dowdy, wood paneled basement. Go to The Fireside instead.

Dethrone the King! The restaurant recently remodeled the exterior and interior which adds to the aesthetic appeal. The interior still embodies the divey, sports bar feel. However, you're there for the food; mediocre is the best word to describe it. I recently had the manicotti and lasagna and it is bland at best. The meat is dry and lacks flavor. The pasta sauce merely masked the taste of the food instead adding to it. So if you're craving Italian, then Kenosha has better options.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
