I have been here four times total I would recommend coming for dinner the food is A little better quality. They had some really good popcorn shrimp for the dinner menu and some coconut shrimp. When I went for lunch the food seemed very old and reheated there was A dish with brown colored broccoli in it. They like to leave the food trays empty I guess they think people wont eat as much when there is nothing to eat. i waited over 30 minutes and they started bring more trays out slowly after about 45 minutes the guy cooking finally threw out his brown old broccoli dish because no one would eat it. I didnt even see alot of people here there were 7 other people in the restaurant so there was no reason for the trays to be empty. This lady came and tried to give me the bill I guess they wanted me to leave and I didnt even start eating yet. I spent nearly 2 hours in here waiting on and off for food. If you want to come here for lunch you will be waiting. One good thing there is A nice light show to watch while you eat and wait at the table.

Now I remember why I don't eat at Chinese buffets much anymore... I ATE WAY TOO MUCH! It says "World" buffet, but honestly it is 90% Chinese food and 10% American fare, not that I am complaining, I LOVE Chinese food! And this place had PLENTY of it! The food was tasty and surprisingly fresh. I won't begin to list all I ate or all that I thought was good, but the Cheese covered Mussels and the Fried Chinese Donuts were especially good! The stuffed mushrooms were a bit old and dried (I kinda like them that way, but my GF was a bit disappointed), and the fried rice was somewhat tasteless. But all things considered, most of the food was very good. Overall, good selection and variety of food, decent price, and good service. Would definitely eat there again, and recommend it to my friends.

A huge selection of Chinese and American cuisine at a cheap price. Service is quite fast and food is delicious. I liked the selection during lunch. My favorites are shrimp and veggies, chow mei fun, pork and mushrooms. In addition, a great variety of fruits, nicely prepared to individual bites. All for $7. In and out in 40 mins, I will come back again!

For the price, this is a must stop in. Its extremely cheap with a large variety of food every corner you turn! The atmosphere is not as cheesy as other chinese restaurants. There are decently nice booths. So if you're in janesville and super hungry, I recommend trying this place!

Decent for a chinese buffet. Good selection. Not sure if it always as fresh as it can be, unless you go when it is really busy.

Very large Chinese and American buffet with a great salad bar. I would have given this 4 stars but it seems they are typical for a chinese buffet and they do not keep clean bathrooms. They are just disgusting so stop at a gas station before you go there.

Not bad! Me and my fiance were undecided on where to have lunch so we decided to try the world buffet. 2 people 2 sodas at lunch was $18 so not a bad value. Food was pretty good, i especially liked the rice noodles, green beans and peanut chicken. The General Tso's was good as well. The restaurant is a bit dark and laid out funny, but it's not to bad.

Used to come here and thought food was good. You have 20 other Chinese food options but why not try the classic again. This time, the restaurant smelled of wet floor and dirty feet. We were one of 3 tables, waitress was nowhere to be found. Food was cold and hard rice almost chipped my tooth. I will stay away from here next time and suggest you to do the same. Carpet and decor is dirty nothing looks as if it's been cleaned in years. Rather than doing simple up keep and cleaning, the kids working here are letting the place fall apart. Most of the food looked as though it had been sitting for hours and we only got here at 6:30 on a Tuesday night. My final thoughts: Need some adults working and hosting instead of children who are deeply attached to their gadgets.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My sister and I just left here and it was awful. The food was obviously sitting for a long time. Everything was hard and cold. The "waiter" didn't even ask us how our food was or offer refills on our drinks. Instead, he sat on his phone in an empty booth. The only reason we kept eating is because we at least wanted our money's worth... Sorry, but cold and limp food sitting for God knows how long isn't worth $11 per person. Save your money and go somewhere worth it.

The food here is alright good for the price. Honestly I've had better food... at my house. The fried rice is decent and the crab ragoons taste like crab ragoons. Everything is as expected for the price. The inside of the restaurant could be better and kind of feels like I'm in an antique store with not-so-taken cared of antiques. The tables were not set up as well as they could have been, but then again the price is pretty good. I give this place 3 crab ragoons out of 6 eggrolls.

What you get is what you expect. Fill your gut and wish you didnt. The tasty flavor you enjoy now is the MSG youll regret later. Good value, I'd go back. And I wish I didnt.

I've been here twice and the food was gross both times. Certainty not worth the price. I went during regular dinner times, and it was still cold, old, and disgusting. Furthermore, the name is misleading. It is not a "world" buffet. it is a Chinese buffet with some crappy pizza, and cheesy potatoes. Also, the staff was not friendly, or attentive, and the place feels dirty. I will not come back here and I do not recommend it.

If you are a Chicagoan on a roadtrip up to the Madison area, at some point, after fighting construction and traffic, you need to stop and stretch your legs. Janesville is a good place to stop off, in my opinion. They've got great restaurants of both the mom and pop and restaurant chain variety. I whipped out my handy-dandy Palm Pixi to see what choices there might be. I saw that World Buffet had a decent rating and who can say no to Chinese food? World Buffet has a combination of your standard Chinese food fare, some American food, food that is kinda in-between, LOTS of appetizers and a nice selection of deserts. I was very impressed with the quality and variety of food. I REALLY liked the baked salmon (a HUGE filet) topped with mysterious ingredients that were awesomely yummy. It's easy to over-cook fish on a buffet, but this one was done PERFECTLY. My BF was enamored of the cheese-stuffed mussels. I enjoyed nearly everything I tried, shrimp & veggies, General Tso's chicken, veggie lo-mein, broccoli chicken, crab rangoon, eggrolls and more salmon. Oddly enough, there was also some califormia roll sushi, complete with wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. It was good too! The one dish I had that was underwhelming was the stuffed mushrooms, which were pretty tough. Otherwise, I had no complaints. I noticed they had egg foo young and gravy to top 'em. (Not my thing, but I've NEVER seen em on a buffet before.) I saw they also had pizza, fried chicken, cheese-filled tater tots, potato wedges and other midwestern fare. And the deserts were very nice, coconut macaroons, mini-eclairs, Chinese donuts, iced cake slices, cookies, fruit, jello, and of course, the inevitable soft-serve machine. The price wasn't bad either. $10 for all you care to eat dinner. I was happy with my experience.

stopped here on our way to Hayward with a group of 7. Very reasonably priced (less than $60). Good things: Food was great! Loved the fried rice. My mother-in-law enjoyed the egg rolls. Everything was hot and fresh. The service was fantastic, our plates were taken away very quickly and our drinks were never empty for very long. Bad things: bathrooms are tiny and not very clean, the onion rings were not made out of whole onion slices (minced onion), my father-in-law said the stuffed mushrooms were "gross." Overall it was a great lunch. We went on a Saturday at around 1 o'clock.

as anyone who has read my previous reviews of this restaurant knows, I have been very critical (fairly so) of the lack of quality in the food and service. recently they have given the place a slight make-over with some fresh paint outside and advertised a sushi bar and a Mongolian grill, so my friend and my family decided to check them out. the inside area looks mostly the same in the dining area, but the buffet area itself looks a bit nicer. obviously, none of this matters if the food and service are still poor. after eating there twice, I can say, without hesitation, THE PHOENIX HAS RISEN! and ...by that I mean...they used to be good, then kinda sucked, and are now better than ever! seriously, I don't know what they did, but they got their mojo back! they have an excellent selection of sushi. not as large as Journey in Madison, but better than any other buffet I've been to, and I think the quality is at least as good as Journey, if not better. the Mongolian grill is also quite good. nothing huge, a couple meat choices, decent variety of veggies, 2 kinds of noodles, and about 8 different sauces for it to be cooked in, plus some powdered spices to add if you want. and the items on the buffet seem better also. the selection seems to be the same as always, but the quality, so far, has much improved. everything I had was much fresher than before. and the hot and sour soup is a completely different recipe than before; it is now really, really good, best soup I've had from any buffet, better than any I've had from any non-buffet restaurant as well. as for the service, it seems they only have one employee to take care of the entire dining area, but the service is still better than before. he is always very friendly, always a smile on his face and gets your dirty plates cleared away and your drinks refilled quickly. great job, guys. keep it up and you'll be seeing me there a lot!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
