Stopped by because I saw sign that said $4.99 fish fry on Wednesdays. Unfortunately the fish was frozen and battered before frying. The fish was rubbery and the fries were greasy. Two stars only because the staff was very nice and friendly. Wisconsin is known for awesome fish frys this unfortunately is not one of them,

decent appetizer menu, heavy on fried, but aren't they all. Wings are crispy and served HOT. Nachos offer plenty to munch on. Good servicer/friendly staff. Fish fry and fried chicken both great. Corner location in downtown Hartford makes it easy to people watch, plenty of flat screen TVs tuned to sports. Much better fare than that other Hartford eatery on the NE corner.

Moved to Hartford about a year ago. Stopped in with my family and had dinner. The bar is a little under 1/2 of the restaurant. Tables for dining are located in the back. Ordered cheese sticks - delicious wonton wrapped and fried chicken. The chicken is broasted chicken which results in chicken that is much more juicy and flavorful. The waitstaff and bar staff were friendly and have been during repeat visits. The chicken is among the best in the area and we typically order a bucket for takeout. The bucket includes fries and an order of bread. Call ahead as it may take a bit to cook the fried chicken fresh (20-40 min depending upon time the order is placed).

When our first choice had a 45 min wait, we came here instead. The HOGG dog is fantastic. The homemade potato chips are fantastic. The southern fried chicken was slap yo momma delicious. Great prices, great food. Can't beat that!

My family and I love to go here for a number of reasons... 1st and most they have fresh & delicious food. It's a clean and casual place you can bring the whole family to. There's a lot of menu options and it's reasonably priced. Personally, I love their fish and the kids just love their mini-tacos. The service is great-we've always had good luck with that and they checked back several times to see if we needed refills etc. my son also loves that he can play pool, how cool is that???

Very rude! A group of us were out this past Saturday for drinks and this was our last stop. It was about 20 minutes until bar close and we were each having one more drink. I asked if they had any vanilla vodka which the bartender said they did not...I said I needed a second to think about it and he rudely replied with "Well, you have only 15 minute so you better figure it out now"...Oh, I'm sorry...you couldn't help the other 5 friends I was with while I figure out what I want. My boyfriend ordered a beer and some shots for the group and he went to the restroom and came back and his beer was gone (after he had just purchased it) and the bartender told him it was near bar close...he literally just ordered it before using the restroom. Very rude bartender - won't be stopping back when in Hartford!

Hank's was a sad sight on Memorial Day. We were two of 4 people sitting in the entire joint. I had read about the "haute" dogs, so I felt it necessary to sample at least one. I am normally not a hot dog girl. Perhaps, I was tortured with various versions as a child (see: mac 'n cheese with hot dog pieces; sliced hot dogs with ketchup; hot dogs and beans). If Hank's was known for their dogs, I would give it a shot. We ordered the hot dog wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Ooh. Sad showing. Dry all.day .long. I do not know what was happening. It was more of a salty dog than a hot dog. It was covered in shredded, bagged cheese and on the stalest poppy seed bun. What is so hard about making good food? How can you screw up this American staple? I just wish bar-restaurants would care more about putting out top-notch plates rather than pushing pints. It is doable even within the confines of Sysco. There is the potential for greatness with this hot dog-centric menu. Hank's could REALLY be known for them, if they would bring out the big guns in the kitchen.
