We were passing through after spending some time in the Northwoods and needed some food. There was a billboard for Barnstormers Pub and Grill, which sounded good. I like food from a grill, and I like a beer with it. Our youngest wasn't feeling good, so we tried to make it fast. Unfortunately this place doesn't seem to have a 'fast' option. It's a little bar with an airplane theme (I don't feel like bars really need themes, but this one was pretty good as they go) and a very, very small grill. The waitress was very clear about it, explaining that they made the kids' food first since the grill couldn't hold more than nine burgers at a time (and we weren't the only people in the place). I had the walleye sandwich, which was good. The fries weren't memorable but the tartar sauce seemed like homemade. I had no complaints, really, especially since it wasn't their fault we needed to hurry up with our unwell child. Well, they don't take credit cards, which is understandable but can be a pain when you're traveling (then again, I might be the only one who squirrels away my cash). Also, the women's bathroom was a lot like an airplane restroom (maybe to stay with the decor?), and it was right by the grill. I understand that bars have horrible little one-room-with-a-toilet bathrooms for space reasons, but I DON'T like them AT ALL.
