Fantastic place to go in Cedarburg. The service is GREAT. We usually go during the week and stay at the bar. We try different martinis and then eat. We usually get several small plates and share. Can't say enough good things. We love the new remodel!

Ambiance was great, our server was a bit confused about numerous things though. Maybe she was new? Food was presented well and cooked perfectly but was disappointed at the taste. Very bland. I had a garlic rubbed ribeye and even with a strong flavored component like garlic, I needed to add salt. My wife had ribs that were fall off the bone done, but was disappointed with the boring, canned tasting bbq sauce. Too bad because it really is a nice place.

My wife and I ate here as it was one of the few restaurants near downtown Cedarburg open on a Sunday night for dinner. The high of our evening was when we first were seated, then it gradually got worse. If I were rating the service alone, this would be a 5 star review. I think my water was refilled roughly every 5 minutes. (Would be easier to just have larger glasses). My wife and I only ordered our entrees, no drinks or appetizers. We were offered soup or salad. My wife ordered the meat and dumpling soup which was average and I ordered the Cesar Salad (which was an unmentioned 2 dollar up charge, but was enormous so I didn't mind). The salad was the best past of my meal. My wife's Chicken Marsala lacked flavor and required the addition of salt. My prime rib, ordered medium rare came medium well at best. Nothing pink about that piece of meat, thankfully it was still flavorful. I would normally send it back but judging by how many empty seats there were in the restaurant I wasn't going to be that customer with a 28 dollar piece of meat. I ordered the garlic mash with it but it was inedible as it was like licking a salt shaker. We didn't order dessert, as we had enough of the low quality food that was bought to us.

I wish I could give 2.5 stars. Had dinner here on our overnight trip to Cedarburg. It was very meh. The inside and decor was very nice. We decided to order from the small plates menu, which offers 21 items. However, 3 of the 21 were not available, and of course we wanted all 3. When that many items are not available on a menu, Im annoyed and disappointed. We did order a brie platter that was good, and a Shrimp and Avocado "cocktail" which was mostly salsa with a touch of shrimp and I think I saw some avocado in there. The beef tenderloin small plate was the best thing we had. One thing that irked me was the soda. It was a fountain drink. The waitress asked me if I wanted a refill. I said yes. In my 35 years of life, I can not recall a waitress serving a fountain soda at a restaurant offer a refill and charge for it. But yep. The bill at the end charged for 2 sodas. If she had told me it was a charge I would not have been able to complain. But dont offer a refill and then charge me for it. Just a pet peeve.

I thought everything was great for our fish fry, with one minor grumble... They may want to turn up the heat a bit on their clam chowder. It was barely above room temperature. Having gotten horribly ill from clam chowder several years ago, it gave me some anxiety. Other than that, the fish was excellent (Fried cod) potato pancakes get a "pretty good", coleslaw was great as was the half loaf of warmed house bread. (Went for the upgrade from the usual rye bread) If you're coming in on Highway 60, don't follow the Highway 181 south detour as it's still opened at that point..

My wife and I discovered this gem about three years ago and have eaten there many times. The food, team and service at Galiito's are excellent all around. Meg always welcomes us and gets us a great table. We've gotten to know the waitstaff there too--always friendly and helpful. We bring our two children too--it's family-friendly. The food is top-notch. Always cooked just right, the way we order it. Finally, it's the rare restaurant that does formal and informal very well. Pricing is mid-range, and the value is very good.

For great Italian fare in Cedarburg, Galioto's is the place. I've been here in the past, but wanted a recent review to reflect this gem in Five Corners. Years ago, I remember celebrating my birthday here while a local gun club met. We sat in the same room and had lovely evening. It was especially memorable because they all sang Happy Birthday to me when the tiramisu was brought out. On my recent visit, we came here for my mom's birthday party. The larger room is closed for construction, so they seated our party in an interesting configuration. Our table was off to the side of the fireplace in the romantically lit dining room. Despite the weirdness, the meal was enjoyable. We started the evening out with crostini and a choice of three toppings: a tapanade, a bruchetta base, and creamy cheese. The trio was tasty and light. We also had chicken pesto pizza as an appetizer. It was delicious. I would definitely have it again. For my entree, I had the Norwegian salmon fillet while my fiance had the black and blue steak. Others in the party had chicken and prime rib. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a nice side of veggies. For my starch, I had asiago mashed potatoes. These were a great complement to the salmon and very well seasoned. The asiago taste is strong and not overpowering. I wanted more of those!! I shared a delicious pinot noir with my brother and wife. The wine was perfectly chilled and excellent. We ended the night with birthday cake that my dad brought with us. Galioto's kept in the fridge for us and cut it as well. The service was attentive without being pushy. I enjoyed a nice birthday dinner with friends and family. Galioto's is a great, cozy Italian restaurant.

On our first visit I would have given 5 stars, or 6 STARS if I could! Hubby and I went away for our anniversary and stayed at one of the cute little B&B's in town. They made us reservations for dinner here on a beautiful winter night with a light snowfall, there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. They seated us right in front of the fireplace and the ambiance was soooo romantic! Our server was excellent. We ordered a fantastic bottle of wine. I ordered the ahi tuna and it was so good I talked about it for over a year until we finally went back to Cedarburg, It was done perfectly. Hubby loved his steak. So, this quaint little place went down in history as one of our favorite anniversary memories. Recently we made it back on mothers day, but I was a little disappointed this time. I ordered the tuna steak again but this time the rice it was sitting on was hard.... I mean like almost break your teeth hard, like it had been sitting out for a long time. The server seemed confused about the menu. Asked me what potato I wanted then brought the hard rice with out saying anything. I HHHATE complaining in a restaurant and I almost never, ever do, but it was not edible so I had to say something. The server brought me a potato instead but the little hard grains of rice were still covering my plate and were all over my fish. Meh, I managed to scrape most of it off but it was annoying. They should have taken my plate back and fixed it. Hubby had italian this time, veal parm I think, and he said it was great. Not 100% sure if we will be back.

Family run place, but not really family friendly. The hostess and server seemed irritated that we would bring our kids with us to their restaurant. The food was average, but definately overpriced. I am not a huge fan of italian anyways, so when I want italian, I want great italian. This would not be it for me.

This was a difficult review to leave. I will start with the negatives. Galioto's needs to hire extra help for the bar. My wife and I had reservations and we arrived 30 minutes early to just sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks. We ended up waiting 30 minutes to order beacuse the bartender was so busy making drinks for people eating in the restaurant, she couldn't get to us. When she did, my wife ordered a martini that we could tell the bartended did not know how to make. It was horrible and almost undrinkable. But given the cost of it, my wife drank it. The prices are also a bit high. After that, all was good. The wait staff was very intentive and friendly, when we arrived at out table, they brought us a nice bread basket, and explained the menu to us. I ordered a pasta dish and my wife ordered a blackeded steak which she said was perfect. for an app, we ordered calamari which was perfect. We left full and happy with the food, however our experience at the bar was very bad.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
