Me do think not. I rarely bestow the ominous 1-star. The rating is threatening, especially when they are racking up and you have been around as long as Lee's. The future should be taken seriously. If there is one. In reading the other reviews AFTER my experience, I realized I was not alone in my concern regarding the taste and texture of the soft-serve. Well, at least I thought that is what I was getting. I purchased what you see in Lee's main picture (or appears to be): a medium vanilla cone with a butterscotch dip. There are only a few places that offer butterscotch as a dip option. I knew Lee's was one, but it will not be on my list any longer. The soft-serve was in fact hard. It did not have a smooth consistency, and it tasted sour. I don't even know if 'sour' is the right word. The taste was almost indescribable. There may have been too much salt used. The machine may have been set too cold. I wish I knew. I would tell them what they need to tweak then. The other sad part is that you can see the ice cream through the dip layer. I'm not saying that Lee's needs to mimic Dairy Queen in their chippable dips, but at least provide a layer thick enough to pronounce the butterscotch flavor. It was nowhere to be found and neither was my happiness. Unfortunately, my hankering for old-fashioned ice cream will take me elsewhere. Sad, but true.

There chocolate is amazing. One of the few places you can order chocolate ice cream that is chocolate dipped!

I have been coming to Lee's Dairy Treat since I was born. One of my earliest memories is sleepily eating a soft-serve icecream cone with crunchy stuff on the outside, following a long evening watching 4th of July fireworks in New Berlin. As a kid, I was always fascinated by the ice cream cone shaped garbage cans, and my imagination would soar at the thought of the sundaes depicted in the hand-drawn menu signs hung in the windows. The experience of dining at Lee's Dairy Treat hasn't changed at all in the last 25-30 years - the neon sign is still a blue-glowing beacon drawing you towards delicious, simple ice cream tastiness perfect for warm summer nights. You stand in line for your turn up at the window to order, and once you order you wait right there while the girls put your food together and pass it back through. (as an adult, I couldn't help but notice that this was a little inefficient, but oh wells! It kept people waiting in the line a bit longer than probably needed.) This place is pretty basic - we got the Royale Sundae (soft serve, bananas, your choice of topping - we got marshmallow fluff) and a Turtle Sundae (hot caramel, pecans, and hot chocolate shell) I missed the "chocolate shell" on the menu and assumed I'd be getting hot fudge, so I was a bit disappointed in the turtle, but that was my own fault, not theirs. We also ordered soft pretzels with cheese and onion rings. These are straight out of the freezer, but were tasty and inexpensive enough that I'm turning a blind eye to that. The pretzel with processed cheese-sauce was actually exceptionally yummy, IMO. Service was okay but not excellent - they have very young teenagers working and they were busy, so my expectations weren't really high and it was fine. Once you have your food, you grab a spot at a picnic table along the edge of the parking lot and hang out staring at the firefly show in the grassy area just beyond. It's perfect and relaxing and really can't be beat.

One word to describe Lee's ...awful. Wait two words... very awful!! Ordered two sundaes for my kids and a medium vanilla cone for myself. All was thrown in trash about 1/2 way thru eating it!! That is how bad it was! An indescribable lack of taste, while leaving your mouth with a very unpleasant after taste. This is not what ice cream is or should be! Why this is called Lee's Dairy Treat I really don't know because it's neither dairy or a treat!

I have been visiting this place since about 5 or 6 years of age. My father took our family here in the summer back in the 80's and 90's and I loved it. Sometimes I even rode my bike here just for a cone or shake. That's back in the days when they had that hobby shop across the street, when I made model air planes. Talk about history... I no longer live in Wisconsin, but when I come here I always stop by Lee's for a cone, usually a dipped one. This place is a excellent mom and pop shop, they know how to treat their customers and always deliver a excellent product. It is nice to see small local businesses and I am glad they are still in Brookfield.

Soft serve deliciousness! All different flavors & toppings! They also have hot dogs, nachos & other food like that available. Everything very very reasonably price. I'll be getting me some ice cream from Lee's all summer long!

I notice this place every time we pass it, heading to and from Brookfield Square. I love old fashioned ice cream stands, because they are typically family run and the owners typically take pride in their product. We were heading east on Greenfield Ave and I decided that this was the day we were going to try Lee's. We did the required u-turn at the light and pulled into a very tight parking lot. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They appear to have a variety of hot food and dessert options. We just ordered soft serve cones. Being the ice cream purist that I am (some say, purist=boring), I ordered a simple vanilla cone. I expected to be satisfied, as I have been by every other ice cream cone in my life. There was something off about the ice cream. It was like the cream was slightly sour before they poured it into the soft serve machine. The cake cones were bigger than the standard cones of other establishments, but I just wanted to make it through the ice cream so I could get to the cone. I will say, that they have twinkle coat...a throwback to my childhood. The off taste was very subtle, but not knowing what it was makes me want to steer clear of Lee's in the future.

Garbage garbage garbage! This place just reopened for the season so I'm guessing everything we got served was expired! I got a hot fudge sundae, the soft serve tasted freezer burnt and the fudge had no taste at all. My wife got the raspberry shortcake sundae, looked good until she tasted it. The raspberries were stale and watered down and the shortcake tasted like old bread. She took it back to the window and the lady argued with her saying she can't return it and there is nothing she could do. Not even a replacement ! She also had the hot pretzel and that was bad too. Straight out of the microwave . Please don't waste your money here. 1 star too many

Love this place. I live off Greenfield, and I drive by it every day. My only wish is that I had a chance or a good excuse to stop here more often! The ice cream is not necessarily unique, but boy do they ever have a million and a half flavors for shakes, sundaes, etc. Wow! I never know what to get. Their prices are reasonable and their ice cream treats hit the spot. On top of it all, super friendly and welcoming place! I love it. I haven't had a chance to try their food offering yet, but I've got plans to!

I am floored that there are 5 stars reviews. The food here was awful. The cheeseburger was gross and didn't even come with a slice of cheese. They used the nacho cheese. I'm pretty sure the patty was microwaved. Cheese fries were soggy, tasteless, and left me disappointed as well. The cheese sauce came on the side so it wasn't that which made them soggy. The root beer float was decent. I wish all they served was ice cream so they could avoid reviews such as this one. Bottom line I regret spending my money here. My tummy deserved better.

Super old school ice cream stand that I have been going to since I was a little kid (over 35 years). Like what others said, there's really nothing special about the soft serve (ice milk?), but it's the whole aura of the little ice cream stand that makes this place so special. I do, however, love the chocolate dipped and the twinkle cones a lot! The selection of treats is HUGE, and prices are very reasonable. The kids who run the counter are really nice as well. The stand is very family oriented, so it's a wonderful place to take the kids for a cold one (the other kind of cold one) on a hot summer night!

I have to admit, their ice cream wasn't anything to write home about, but there were two things that I really liked : - Ease of getting into the parking lot - Gigantor ice cream cone garbage cans Things I don't like : - The name "Lee" (I got over that when I ordered my chocolate cone) Overall pretty standard ice cream, but the ambiance is probably what people go there to experience. Rock on, old school ice cream place!

I have been going to this place since I was a tot and even though the eats are nothing to write home about, the experience is why you go. Enough said! Now go check it out and you'll see what I mean. It's hard to find these cutesy little ice cream stands these days.

Named after the original owner Lee this place has been around for over 40 years & is family owned & operated. This is one of the very few Old School like custard stands around based on the old Boy Blue concept for those of you who remember Boy Blue lol. They carry many ice cream types of treats all made from soft serve ice cream (made with ice milk which according to their website is 96% fat free) They also have dipped cones (which you have to check out if you have never had one), malts, ice cream sodas, various take home frozen treats, sundaes & my personal favorite a chiller diller (which is soft serve ice cream mixed with your choice of the 5 different slush flavors they have mmmmm). If you think this place is only for ice cream you are so wrong they have burgers, hot dogs, chili, fries, onion rings & other types of hot food items. They are only closed a few months during the wintertime but are open now since I was just there. Seating is also an option both inside & out & when your ready to throw your trash away check out their 6 foot ice cream cone trash cans. TOO COOL!! Don't forget to say "HI" to Lee's current owner Danette who is Lee's daughter & her son Nik when you check out this gem of a custard stand.
