Hat Rack Tap

Reviews:
I have a deep desire to rate as many backwoods, countryside taverns as possible. This one so far, has been the most rural I have ever visited. The first thing you notice upon entering is the classic Pabst Blue Ribbon sign hanging above the doorway. Located in Avalon, a sleepy, unincorporated town filled with no more than eighteen houses, four-hundred people and a host of grain silos that are the tallest things for miles. There is actually a post office but the only sign of life between here and the next bustling metropolis is the Hat Rack. Don't expect to find tappers here. They only serve cans and a selection of the cheapest bar food this side of Delavan. Locals and even their kids are known to hangout here and a decent pool table often sits unused. The interior resembles more of a mobile home than anything else, but the ramshackle exterior all add up to one exciting rural drinking experience. If you stumble into Avalon, which chances are very great that you will not -- I hope you have the chance to experience the Hat Rack.
