WOW!! My husband and I came here on New Year's Eve. The ambiance was wonderful, the staff was cheerful and everything was perfect for a new years eve dinner! That night they were having 2 seating's 1 at 5:30pm and the other at 8:30pm. We made reservations for the 8:30pm seating which was a perfect time for us. They were serving a 7 course meal which was incredible!! Each course was paired with a different wine. My husband and I loved every course. The poached lobster tail over a bed of angel hair pasta was AMAZING! Best lobster I have ever had. The portion size was exactly right. With that much food you wouldn't want to much of each. The wine selections were good. Only the Porto we didn't care for. By the end of the meal we were stuffed!! Right before midnight they brought out champagne and party favors. Fun! I can't wait to go back!! Amuse Bouche Seared sea scallop with roasted sweet potato, Macintosh apple, cinnamon-nutmeg cream sauce and apple cider glaze (paired with Mark West Pinot Noir) Soup Lobster bisque with tarragon, fennel pollen and micro greens (paired with Sebastiani Chardonnay) Cheese Plate Artisan cheeses with shaved prosciutto, quince paste, garlic bread, olive oil and fresh herbs (paired with Amberhill Secret Red) Seafood Butter poached lobster tail over a bed of angel hair pasta with roma tomatoes, caramelized red onions and a tarragon beurre blanc (paired with Amberhill Secret White) Salad Arugula with strawberries, candied almonds, dried cherries and champagne vinaigrette (paired with Makulu Moscato) Entrée Grilled angus beef tenderloin with truffled mashed baby red potatoes, roasted wild mushrooms and bordelaise sauce (paired with Campus Oaks Old Vine Zinfandel) Dessert Baked bittersweet chocolate mousse with fresh berries, mocha cream and port reduction (paired with Porto Cruz Tawny Port)

Not sure what to say. I had the scampi. Shrimp were obviously frozen farm raised (menu said fresh gulf shrimp). My wife had the Chicken Marsala and it was reheated grilled chicken thrown in some Marsala sauce with pasta and over cooked vegetables. Wine list by the glass is marginal and the bottle list is robbery. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Just had a delicious 5 course St. Valentines day dinner @ Wine Review. Our 1st course was a sublime cream of mushroom and leek soup with a delicate white Moscato wine. Out 2nd course was spinach salad with a piquant hot bacon dressing paired with a nice blended red wine. Our next course was a little disappointing. We were served a beef "Wellingtonette," which was a tiny version of beef Wellington , in which the beef was chopped and layered with a chalky tasting sauce and wrapped in philo. Our 4th course was spectacular. It was a perfectly prepared lobster tail served alongside a stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon. The description doesn't do it justice as both were prepared perfectly and were accompanied by a fine Wentz Chardonnay, a perfect pairing. Our dessert was a chocolate dipped strawberry served alongside a perfectly prepared white chocolate eclair. The wine pairing was a Spatlaese which was absolute perfection alongside the dessert. All this for $79.99 per couple, can't be beat!

We used to love this place and would frequent it when in town. Our most recent visit to Flanagans was far from exceptional. It, in fact, was awful. My pork tenderloin with pepper was so tough I could not eat it with the butter knife that it was served with. When I asked for a steak knife to cut it, and that couldn't easily cut it, I knew something was wrong. I brought it to the attention of the server who did nothing. Also, the amount of WHOLE black peppercorns in the sauce was alarming. This dish was a mistake, even for a HUGE pepper lover. Coughing excessively because of the food is not a good sign. I can't imagine anyone else enjoying the food on my plate. This was just my experience, but I can assure you others sitting at my table had issues with what they ordered as well. We were disappointed to find our old favorite place to have turned into what it did. Also, we always love to get the wine flights. This specific night, they were not serving them due to a "show night" (The Lion King was playing at the PAC). Understandable if the place is busy. The entire time we ate (6:30-7:30) there were only one or two other tables in the whole place and it was by no means a reason not to serve those to us. The second waitress was sitting at the other table, visiting, because there was no business. It's sad to see this family business turn into what it has. We always support local business with good service. Sad to say, but I will never be back and I don't think all the people at my table will be either. Spend your money elsewhere if you have a choice.

Sadly disappointed. My friends and I went out for a birthday dinner. I was told over the summer that they had changed chefs so I thought I would give them a second chance since the last visit was subpar. Our food was mediocre at best. The house potatoes tasted sour; the cranberry chutney that topped my pork chop looked like slop; and the pork chop looked good but was flavorless. I ordered crème brûlée for dessert, and it must have been heated to quickly as it was curdy instead of smooth. To top it off our waitress was rude and unresponsive. I asked if she could explain the cheese plate, and I got an eye roll. I could provide more examples, but i think you get the picture. will never return.

This is a very good date venue. Cozy little enclosed booths, lovely atmosphere and well crafted dishes made our visit fun and tasty. Wine selection is superb and we enjoyed our meal thoroughly!

Absolutely delightful. Had the carpaccio spankopazpita (YOU spell it!), and both were fantastic as appetizers. Our table was served the scallops, salmon, halibut and a ribeye - all were we'll presented and yummy! Ribeye was amazing! Staff was fun yet professional - if you are in Appleton looking for fine dining, this is your place! Wine was a bit overpriced by the bottle (even for a restaurant) but I still bought two bottles (Stone Throw Reserve).

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner because the restaurant was recommended to me. Service was awful. We got our salads before the waiter even brought our drinks and we waited after we had finished eating for 20 minutes before he came to ask us if we wanted the check. I would have flagged him over sooner if he was anywhere to be found but he wasn't. I ordered a medium rare steak and my only complaint was that it was overdone a bit. My girlfriend got prosciutto wrapped scallops with mushroom risotto. Oh where can I even start with what was wrong with this dish. First the scallops weren't wrapped in prosciutto they were wrapped with thick pieces of smoked bacon that totally overwhelmed the delicate seafood. There is a difference between bacon and prosciutto and maybe someone should explain that to their chef. Their chef also needs to learn how to make risotto. The risotto had been placed in a mold and came out towering over the other food on the plate. 1st, risotto is supposed to spread and be creamy. It shouldn't be moldable and hold in this pasty mound. Since they present it this way I'm assuming they have no idea how it's supposed to be cooked. Also the rice was insanely mushy and overcooked. The whole plate was awful and not worth the money. Go to any other restaurant. This place is for an older generation who doesn't know food as well and just wants to go somewhere "fancy".

Good food and nice ambience. They have a great wine seelction. there's a liquir store attached to the restaurant. So if you really liked your wine, chances are you can get that at the store next door and enoy later.

If you are the type of person who needs an excuse to go somewhere new then here it is: they have a killer happy hour, twice a day happy hour at that. 1/2 off wine, free appetizers and more. You also want to start getting their newsletter so you can be informed about when they have tastings/events. Whenever they have tastings or 'events' such as their valentine's day dinner, they are more than generous with everything, food, wine, etc. My description may be vague, but this is a place worth going to, very nice indoor setting, as well as a small patio out back. Go here for their specials, guys and gals. PS-go to their site and sign up for their newsletter, it has all the 411 on tastings and events.

The only reason I return to this restaurant is simply because of the food and the downtown location. The food is almost always good and the appetizers are good and fun to try especially with their happy hour pricing, however I'm always disappointed with the service. Every time I eat here, the waiter disappears for long periods of time. You can expect to sit at the bar and wait 10-15 minutes before a bartender even acknowledges you and takes your drink order. The staff never looks very happy or appreciative to have your business.

Went here for steak night on Thursday night with some friends. We typically order fish but decided to try the ribeye and tenderloin. Two of our three steaks had more fat on them than we expected and we found them very tasty but were lacking tenderness. Everything else was wonderful, the Moroccan Kebabs were excellent as well as the Bruschetta for appetizers. This is our first time when we didn't get a 5 star experience, but we will give steak night another try.

My wife and I met a couple of friends here for dinner. We didn't have reservations and the hostess told us we would have to sit at the bar to eat despite several tables being open. I ordered the "Prime Ribeye" as it was called on the menu, with mixed vegetables. The steak was excessively charred on the outside to the point where the extremities were just plain burnt and dry. The interior was cooked properly (medium rare I ordered) but it was a bad cut of meat. Lots of tough connective tissue and even the lean meat areas were dense and hard to chew. Pretty disappointing for a ribeye which is usually marbled with soft, butter-like fat that melts in your mouth. The vegetables were a few carrots and two broccoli florets. During our stay, the tables never did fill in, so I'm still not sure why they couldn't have seated us. Overall pretty disappointing. It had been a while since we had eaten here and I remember it being significantly better.

The Wine Review is my favorite place to hang out. Although not cheap, there is a secret you should know.....Happy Hour is between 5- 6 and again from 9-10. During Happy Hour they have 1/2 price wine and tap beer, & 2-for-1 appetizers. Don't be intimidated if you're not a wine drinker, it is the perfect place to sample different wines and find the wines you love. Also a great place to learn about different wines and the flavors to look for. They have wine tastings on saturdays for about $10 and it includes a bottle of wine to take home. The staff is amazing and incredibly helpful! Ask for Leslie at the bar to help with your wine choices and you won't be dissapointed! If you are so lucky as to get Katie or Hugo as your sever, your evening will be a perfect dining experience. Dion, the Head-Chef, will be sure that you don't go hungry and that your taste buds experience a gastronomic sensation like no other! Worth EVERY penny........
