We love this place! We live "across the river" and during the summer months, we will almost always bring our out of town guests here. Last summer, we enjoyed Pier 4 with friends/family from Vancouver, Santa Fe, Brooklyn and San Francisco. We love sitting outside overlooking the river and enjoying the rush of the trains going by! The food always comes out hot and fresh and the service is way above average. Our guests almost always love the kitschy atmosphere and it's always a winner, so go early to avoid the lines! This is NOT a place for you "foodies" who should probably just go to the Harbor View, it's a "down home" experience with real people eating what real people love. A "thumb's up" for Pier 4!!

3 egg omelet is actually about 5 eggs. Yes, do yourself a favor and order the side order of hash browns.

I had their turkey sandwich and it was great, I was pleasantly surprised that I got real thick slices of freshly sliced smoked turkey breast from the smoker , it was very juicy and it tasted great way better than I expected. The role it came on was very fresh and I got hashbrowns with it which were good. My wife had the chicken salad which was very good and she got the potato salad on the side which was excellent. I will come back here as much as I can I want to try the french fries that look very very good.

I am from the area and have been eating here since I was little. There is a reason I keep coming back. It is a small, home town restaurant with great food. It is located right next to the train tracks and lock and dam #4 on the Mississippi. It's a place where locals go and a great place for tourists or anyone just driving through. Small town favorite!!!

Amazing, per usual. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our bicycle tour. Service was great, food was great and it set us out for our 100 mile day. We both had pancakes, just perfect I must say!

This restaurant is where knickknacks go for summer vacation but the food is quick, good, cheap, and the folks are friendly.

I had the pulled pork sandwich with tangy barbecue sauce, fries and Mississippi mud pie. Wife, always healthier, opted for chicken salad and cottage cheese. Service was amazingly fast, food was delicious and inexpensive, and the view of the river was wonderful. I even bought a jar of the tangy barbecue sauce to bring home, and I'm very specific about what I'm looking for in a barbecue sauce. We will go back the next time we are in the area, even though it will require a special trip. It's worth it.

Great food, great value. Intimate cafe will have lines in warmer months for breakfast and lunch. Views right on Mississippi above Alma Dam; trains speed by on double tracks. Decor is a combination of some unique fishing trophies (A buffalo and a bowfin are among the permanent underwater residents) as well as a fully functioning lionel train that runs the perimeter of the cafe near the ceiling, including crossing a wooden replica of a steel truss bridge. Great food, great service, and some wonderful togo items like fresh preserves and BBQ sauce. Bring cash or checks; no CC's accepted.

We love this little place right on the Mississippi River. Great breakfasts with homemade bread for their toast, homemade jams as well. They serve wonderful german potato pancakes and hashbrowns are perfect! Great service as well.

their ribs and brisket is as good as it gets! and the potato pancake is probably one of the top 5 things I have ever had in my life. mighty tasty!! we will be back for sure
