We ended up here on Saturday, totally unintentionally, the terrible wind storm had caused a power outage and all the traffic lights were out meaning we couldn't make it to our original lunch destination. We pulled up to Village Wine as it was one of the only places still open and appeared to be serving food, and we were starving. They were super busy and of course without power like everyone else. But we got a table quickly thanks to the amazingly friendly and helpful gentleman who was manning their big BBQ grill outside that meant they were still able to provide all of the flatbreads and hot sandwiches on the menu. He was so welcoming and attentive, a real credit to the business! You could have easily forgiven all of the staff for being a little stressed with the circumstances but not once did anyone show it. The waitresses were so friendly, kind and considerate, we never had to wait, the wine was served promptly as was the food, everyone was so attentive and happy. You would never have known there was a power outage from the quality of service, food or wine, it could have been just a busy Saturday and that's what made it such an exceptional experience. Everyone was happy. So not only was the service some of the best I've had in a long time, anywhere, the wine was delicious and the food was so good, have the bacon wrapped dates, they were amazing. They totally converted us into return customers and we are already planning our next trip back. Totally won us over on a day that could have been a disaster. Thank you so much for making our day!

Not a bad restaurant to come to. We came here on a super windy day so most of the street lights were out as well as electricity. Luckily, this restaurant runs on a generator during times like these. The ambiance was nice where they have an outside patio area to lounge and sip your wine. We sat inside because they had a large couch with a coffee table. I thought the inside environment was very casual but rustic. It was very pleasantly decorated. The food that we ordered was very simple since they could only use their ovens due to the lack of electricity. We got two pizzas. One was a BBQ chicken one and the other was a meat pizza. The meat pizza was a little salty but the BBQ one was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a southwestern salad with steak on top. This was pretty tasty. Lastly, we got the meat/duck platter. It had an assortment of all this tasty meats with warm bread. It was all very good. The only minor critique I have is that they provide too little bread on this platter so when we asked for more, they charged us an additional $4 for a small serving of bread. That seemed to be an excessive charge since bread is usually complimentary at restaurants as this one. Ridiculous. The food was not too over priced. We got a glass of ice wine and shared. This was really delicious. Overall, it was a great meal. I liked the lively environment.

So the bf and I came here after a staying at Willows Lodge one weekend. We were both hungry so we wanted a lot of food.... From all the reviews we thought this would be a good choice but we were sorely disappointed. We started with the garlic chicken wings and truffle fries. Truffle fries were soggy and not trufflely at all. It was really sad, especially given all the rave reviews. We sent it back asking for fries that were actually crispy and tasted like truffle. They were nice about it and took it back to be remade. The chicken was not crispy and had wet, limp, slimy skin. Yuck... I didn't think it was possible to make chicken wings that badly. For the main course I ordered a lamb sandwich with a potato salad, my bf ordered the Thai chicken sandwich with chips. They mixed up our side dishes which wouldn't have been so bad if it was the only thing that went wrong. The chicken sandwich had a sweet and sour sauce (is that Thai??) but also had a pesto sauce?!? What an odd combination.... I couldn't figure it out. My sandwich was terrible... the lamb was too salty, and being from Hawaii, I almost never think anything is too salty. The flavor wasn't very good either, just salt and gamey lamb. And I love pretty much all meat (gamey or not). I can't believe I started eating the chicken wings again because the lamb sandwich was so awful. *sigh* So why the two stars? Because they were really nice about everything, and offered to make me a sandwich that I would like. I was starving and I just wanted food, so I was just trying to get food in me and I didn't want to wait for them to remake something that I thought I'd probably not enjoy anyway since I didn't like anything they had already brought out. I wanted to like this place, but the food and the seating (the seating seems to be badly in need to of a re-upholstery job) just killed it for me. On the plus side, the fries were palatable after they came back from being re-cooked and given more truffle flavor.

So awesome that they stayed open during the wind storm!! Here for the day/night for a friend's bachelorette party. So many places closed but Mark Ryan and the Village Wine stayed open and made the day awesome!!

If you're going to go wine tasting in Woodinville you're going to need to eat at some point, right? I mean, we all know wine tasting on an empty stomach is a bad idea, and can cut short your wine tasting day. No Bueno. There are certainly a fair number of options available in this area, but Village Wines is worth a visit. First up, it's a retail wine shop. Nice, eclectic selection available. And if you find a bottle you like it's only a $12 corkage to just enjoy it there. (Just because you're eating during your wine tasting break doesn't mean you can't have some wine.) Second, it's not pretentious. The staff are just a fun group of people who enjoy wine and good food. The night I was there with my wife they had deviled eggs as one of the specials. If you see deviled eggs on the menu, do yourself a favor and order them; there's a good chance they're going to be fantastic, and this proved to be true here. Shrimp, classic, and crab as the three versions, and they were all very good to great. I went for the open faced tuna sandwich - I love me a good tuna melt. Had them do it with provolone instead of the pepperjack. Homey stick to your ribs goodness. My wife went much healthier with the chicken salad. Classic - goat cheese, candied walnuts, etc - but well executed. Not a 5 star place, but certainly 4 and a nice spot to take a break. Now, pass the wine.

I like Village Wines. It's too bad that some haven't had a great experience here. I've been here a handful of times and each time I've been able to get great service, help on selections of wines and just a friendly server. Came to Village Wines this past Sunday to enjoy the one day of sunshine we had in Washington. Went in and grabbed a seat in the corner. I ordered a glass of the Pinot Noir that they had on their menu. I forgot the name (it's a trend if you haven't already noticed in my reviews that I forget the names of my beverages and/or servers) but it was a nice and smooth Pinot. Since we had dinner plans in a few hours, my guest and I decided to share the Charcuterie Platter which came with pate (not my thing), duck rillette, smoked duck breast (delicious), salami, prosciutto, dijon mustard and a demi baguette. You really can't go wrong with this platter. I've had a few other items from their menu before and the ones I've had aren't bad. There's a Groupon out there if you haven't seen it already. I believe $15 for $30 worth of wine, tapas for lunch and $25 for $40 worth of wine, tapas, anytime. Seriously, come here with a date, group of friends and/or family. The customer service really isn't that bad. You can't always trust a review from a person who only Yelps about bad experiences or their tastes consists of cheap non authentic Mexican cuisines and McDonalds.

After waiting a half an hour for my dinner on a slow weekday night, it arrived incomplete. My steak and blue cheese sliders arrived without the blue cheese and cold. (We all mistakes). I asked the waitress--that we had to flag down any time we wanted her attention--if she could please bring me some. The blue cheese arrived promptly in a side dish. When I dipped in my knife, a three inch piece of crumpled foil wrapper came out. YUCK! I've tried to eat here several times and remain positive. But, this is it. No more bad service, overpriced food and mystery items. Maybe if I drank more wine, I wouldn't have noticed.

This place is great for a large group. I came here with family after the wine tour at Chateau St. Michelle and it's great to order tapas/dishes to share. I highly recommend- the charcuteries hummus + veggies edamame bacon wrapped dates skip on- pizza (they said this was really popular but the texture made me wish I just bought a flatbread from Trader Joe's instead)-- the pizza we got was overcooked and dry sandwiches cute wine bar with lots of similar restaurants/cafes nearby!

What an absolutely previous little place! I was meeting a friend to talk work stuff and when I popped by her office she smiled at me and said, "I've got just the place. Let's talk over lunch." Not being as familiar with Woodinville as a resident, I was totally down for a trip to someplace new. We drove through town, caught up, and she pulled into this parking lot full of cute local businesses. Village Wines (the cutest of them all!) was at the end of the lot with trellises, outdoor seating both in the shade and the sun, and large open windows/doors that allowed even the indoor guests to soak up the warm weather. It's a large space and you can browse and taste and ask questions about all kinds of wines. Lots of local focus and lots of cozy seating. We chose a soft seating area and logged into their free WIFI to get work done. This was hard though because the wine lists, the early afternoon happy hour menu, and the specials menu were all catching my eye. I asked for deviled eggs to start and the chicken salad lettuce wraps for lunch. Iced tea was perfect and our server visited the table regularly to make sure we were all set and happy with our orders. I couldn't have asked for more. The deviled eggs were good (I especially loved the crab one!) and the chicken salad wraps were killer. On the sweet side with the addition of cranberries, I actually slipped a few of my potato chips from the side of the plate into the wraps to add some texture and salt. Totally perfect! I will definitely recommend Village Wines to wine fans, food fans, and people just looking for a place to relax, work, or catch up with friends. Also good for date nights or dinner with the folks.

My mom had been bragging about this place for awhile and she raved about how good the food is. Unfortunately, when she was able to get me in there to try it, she was having to continually apologize for the "not so nice"experience. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Prawns (you get 3 for $9) and they were completely RAW! We told the waitress who took them back, when she returned she went on saying the cook says it's the preps fault. Shouldn't the cook check the food before it leaves the kitchen? Anyways, we ordered a flat bread pizza (Lisa Special)and another appetizer. They both were really good, however, our wine glasses sat empty while we ate because our waitress was eating and socializing with another customer. It was poor service for sure and we definitely would have ordered more and been more into our wine adventure if the service was there. Overall, the food we did eat was good and I think I will give it another try and hope that they were just having an off day. My mom swears that she has always had a good experience and doesn't want that experience to leave a "fishy"taste in our mouth.

Village wines is a great place to have lunch or an early dinner. I've had the pleasure on many occasions and always felt the food was great the service was prompt and pleasant and the atmosphere was comfortable. I would highly recommend trying them out. You can also shop for some great wines at reasonable prices to take home or enjoy with your meal. 5 Star Business

This place reminds me of Central Perk from the Friends TV show, but cooler because it has a great selection of beer, wines, and yummy food. The atmosphere is really relaxed and fun... a gem in Woodinville! Nice place to take hang out after work or bring visitors to when in wine district. Also, the staff is super friendly and attentive. They have outdoor seating in a fairly good-sized patio to enjoy your wine in the sunshine. When we talked to the owners, they are going to be converting their private room to be an open area with TV's... that'll be a blast when it's football season! I highly RECOMMEND trying it when you are out in Woodinville!!!

Delicious wine, and a huge selection at that. Enjoyed the baked brie in puff pastry- absolutely fabulous. Lisa's favorite pizza was also very good. I liked the couchy living room feel too, very cozy place to hang with a small group of friends. Also had nice outdoor seating. It is pricey, but all their dishes are very sharable, so it's perfect for a group planning to split the bill. They were also very accommodating and took special orders and modifications on dishes.

Village Wines is an adorable restaurant that offers a wide variety of wines and foods. Parking can be tough but the quality service makes up for any parking trouble. My girlfriend and I have been to Village Wines about three times and each time we have had quality service even when we've had to wait a few minutes for seating. Two of the three times we have had a waitress named Cassandra, she has gone above and beyond to make sure our experience is phenomenal - both times she has taken our picture and spent time chatting with us. I would recommend this place to any couple or individual that is looking for a comfortable and welcoming environment where they can sip a glass of wine, chow down on some tasty treats (I recommend the prosciutto wrapped dates), and enjoy some amazing live music.

  • L C.

I have been to Village Wines three or four times now. Each time I have left disappointed. Some of the food on the menu is decent, but most of it misses the mark. I think the prices are too high for what you get. They do have a good variety of drinks and it's nice that they occasionally have live music. If we return, we'll probably just go for a drink and then go somewhere else for dinner.

My best friend and I had our birthday party there a few weeks ago and they were awesome! Great customer service even on a hectic Saturday night!! Good wine and good food. They have live music on the weekends so get there early to get a spot. We'll be back again to visit this spot :)

Not only does Village Wines have excellent food, the service is great too. The sweet potato fries were delicious and our server, Jen, said they were baked. In fact, none of the food here is fried, which is quite awesome. The French dip was yummy with not a lot of fatty parts in the meat. The Normandy tart with ice cream was delicious too. The plating of all the dishes was superb. Kudos to the excellent staff here. Everyone is so friendly and really attuned to the customers. Even though you can refill your own water with a large bottle on the table, they're constantly refilling the water for you. It may seem like a small thing, but some servers at other places don't refill your water period and you're left with nothing to drink. Village Wines also has a very relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel like you can stay there for a long time just enjoying the food and company. It was neat to go on a night when there was live music too. Lastly, as someone who can't have alcohol for health reasons, I appreciated the fact that they serve teas here. I enjoyed the chamomile tea, which was served in a small tea pot with actual loose leaves and none of that cheap tea bag junk that other places have. The tea was very calming and good to drink before heading out into the chilly weather.

Came here with friends for drinks and pupus (aka appetizers). The atmosphere was nice but a little bit loud due to the live music. We shared a bottle of red wine that was chosen for us by our server (Jen)...it was very good! I highly recommend the Jack Daniel's BBQ Pizza and the Normandy Apple Tart with ice cream!! Both were delicious!! Great food/wine and service!! I would definitely come here again...perfect place to chill with friends!

Love this place. The staff is always friendly and after going maybe 8 or 10 times, we decided to become members. The food is always great, and wines that they have by the glass are amazing, as well as the selection of bottles. The staff is very knowledgeable and has helped pick some great wines to try and always have great recommendations about things to try on the menu.

Definitely a highlight in the Woodinville wine country. Try the French Dip with the homemade au jus - you really cannot go wrong! I wish I had room for dessert, but that gives me a reason to come back next time.

Very enjoyable and for the most part, the staff is very nice. It's a great place go to if you want the "winery" feel, but you can stay there later than wineries around there. Also, the food is great, I ended my meal with a phenomenal key lime pie! Yum!

My girls and I started our day in Woodinville off here with some coffee and breakfast. Can't speak for the wines here, but it was a great space inside. We snuggled up in some comfy chairs. I had a latte and breakfast sandwich in hand, both of which were delicious. Also, the staff was helpful and friendly bright and early when they opened. We'll be back!

I have been in here twice. The first time I was with a guy friend - the waitress was super nice, very helpful and attentive. We both ordered the French Dip - mine w/out the horseradish (personally not a fan even with the smallest amount) his had it. Both of us loved our sandwiches and truffle fries. We both had a couple glasses of wine with our meal. The second time I went in alone - since it is super close to my house I needed a break and decided to go in for lunch. I ordered the chop-chop salad 1/2 order and truffle popcorn to go. No wine this time The woman who waited on my was not very attentive, I had a long wait to get water, have my order taken, my plate taken away, and get my bill. This was during the week and the place was not busy. I was super disappointed with the service. My salad was good and even the take home popcorn. I guess it is hit and miss with the wait-staff. It is a bit on the spendy side so with that in mind my expectations for service are a bit higher. I might be inclined to go back - I still want to try their Caprese salad.

This was our second trip to Village Wines in the last 3 months and I'm so glad we came back for a second visit. This time we came for happy hour and everything was amazing! We each tried a wine flight, Lisa's flat bread pizza, a pretzel and the fondue platter (which btw is quite an experience itself). I really love the classy, yet unpretentious and comfortable atmosphere and everything we ordered as prepared perfectly. We had the great pleasure of meeting the owners; a very lovely couple who started this restaurant/ wine bar 8 years ago. We talked a bit about business and they mentioned some staffing changes they made and this experience (especially food quality) was night and day. Because the owners and entire staff are so committed to quality & customer service, this has become a favorite local place for us. I am so glad we didn't miss this gem based on one "off" day. Hats off to the team at Village Wines ~ I wish you infinite success!

It seemed like it was nice to have a place to stop for lunch that's so close to all the wineries. I liked the concept of being able to sit, relax, enjoy some food, and also perhaps buy some wine. The place is large and has nice sofas. Most of the tables were bar tops and wasn't quite as comfortable-looking. We came here to grab a bite after some wine tastings. I didn't drink so I can only comment on the food. My classic french dip was practically inedible. The horseradish was SO overpowering that every bite felt like something was shooting through my skull. And this comes from someone who LOVES horseradish (in moderation). I tried to see if maybe I could swipe some of the horseradish off but it appeared to be completely soaked in one of the pieces of bread. Also, the place was definitely overpriced - I assume it's for the tourists. Sandwiches ran $15 a piece and only came with either chips or potato salad. A greek salad was an additional $3. That would come out to $18 for a regular lunch that'd be half the price elsewhere.

So, first time for bad service and so so food. We got our kids moved from a couch to make room for paying customers even though we are paying for them. Not sure they will earn my business back after this one . I understand busy, but know that you are busy because we are here too. Tips are a great way to know how you are doing.... Just saying.

Great staff and super good service, BUT the food was pretty below average, except for the potatoe salad....it was AWFUL! Walked past the kitchen and actually saw where our horrible potatoe salad came from...a plastic bucket, you know, the kind you get at Fred Meyer. Pizza was bad and the sliders were tasteless! I rarely write reviews, I just don't ever go back to the place i had a bad experience at, only because it's my opinion and others might love the place. I'm writing this review because I became sick after I ate there...ALL NIGHT in the bathroom. Yes, it could be from something else, but if you saw the condition of the kitchen and ate the food, you too would be certain it was the food! 99.9% sure. Do yourself a favor, walk past the kitchen, take a peak, and then see if you want to take the risk. (remember, the staff was pretty awesome) Have a glass a wine, enjoy the entertainment, appreciate the great staff, but say your prayers before AND after you eat...

Lots of wine, poor beer selection. DO NOT order the hot wings. They're awful! They were the same if not worse than the frozen hot wings you get at the store.

One of our top stops in the Woodinville wine circle. Favorites are the fruit and Dubliner cheese plate, the BBQ chicken pizza, and the generous wine flight. Pros: Dogs welcome on the patio, they'll bring a fresh bowl of water Kids welcome too Plenty of vegetarian options Very friendly service Tasty food, beer, & wine at reasonable prices Cons: Only 4 beers on tap? We love a place where we can bring our kids and dog, have a beer, and tasty food at a reasonable price. They always have a spot open outside for us, bring a fresh bowl of water for our dog, and stop by often to check on us with a smile.

Overpriced and less than average service. We went to Village Wines because of the great reviews but it was less than average quality. The food was tasteless, the fries were the frozen kind which tasted horrible. The only good thing was the wine...I would say stick to wines and don't even serve food. When we told the server that our fries were poor quality she didn't do anything about it, she didn't offer to bring us fresh ones or deduct them from our bill, nothing, nada.

We ventured into Village Wines in the middle of our trek through the Pacific Northwest's wine country. We were very hungry, and with some of the legendary wineries in the area, we were excited to sip on something excellent. This place let us down a bit. To be fair, we had just left a phenomenal experience in Walla Walla where all our expectations were completely blown out of the water by both restaurants and wineries. Here's the lowdown-- Wine by the Bottle - Four stars for a pretty cool selection of local and foreign wines, particularly strong in Spanish stuff. Since I was in Washington, though, I wanted to focus on those wines, and the selection was fairly good. Some hidden gems (2002 Hamacher Oregon Chardonnay) and some more standard bottles. The $12 corkage fee was not terrible, but maybe a bit steep considering the higher-than-retail markup in the store. Grabbed a nice bottle of white. With the corkage fee, came out to about double average retail. Again, not terrible, but coming from Walla Walla where wine lists where literally only about 10% above retail, this went down less smoothly than the wine did. Wine by the Glass - Two stars. I'm in Washington. Give me more than one or two selections by the glass, particularly if you are offering flights of wine. Food - Two stars. Again, I'm in the middle of verdant farm country. I just visited farmers markets with inexpensive provisions in the middle of the most bountiful season of the year. The big shipment of Costco produce and items that arrived when I sat at my table made perfect sense when the Costco-like menu items came out. The BBQ pizza with bacon was fine, but was basically just salty and kind of uninspired. My dining partner's roast beef dip sandwich was a bit more successful. The sweet potato fries were limp. Service - Three stars. Fairly helpful staff. Everyone seemed pleasant and capable, though I think other diners may have had other experiences. I saw one server begin a flight of wine for three women out on the patio and then leave (for a break? at the end of his shift?) without telling anyone about them. They languished outside until one of them came in and asked for the second wine. This is not to say that they are short-staffed. There were at least three servers and the owner milling around the bar area, and there were really only maybe four or five tables of people at this late lunch hour. Atmosphere - Two stars. The layout is weird and kind of uncomfortable. There aren't many tables, and there's a section with a huge couch. The wine bar is huge and imposing, which I suppose would be kinda fun (and seemed to attract some regulars), but I would have felt like I was imposing on the conversation of the staff if I had sat there... particularly when the owner of the place began to gossip (loudly) about her staff. I don't really care if there is drama behind the scenes, but try to keep it away from customers. At any rate, this averages to 2.5 stars. I just couldn't give this place a three stars since I wouldn't recommend to anyone, so 2 stars it is. Go to a winery (there are at least 10 within walking distance of this place) and grab a bottle of wine. Then go to a farmer's market and grab some fresh fruits, veggies, breads, and cheeses. Then find a nice spot and enjoy both. That's what I'll be doing rather than revisit here.

I have been to Village Wines several times and love the location and atmosphere! It is a great place to go when the sun is out and you can snag a spot on the patio. I also love the live music on Fridays & Saturdays and always have a great time. With that being said, the food is overpriced and less than average. I had the chicken salad which was very bland and missing half of the toppings listed on the menu. It was not worth $15 at all. I've also tried to book an event at Village Wines and have had no luck getting ahold of anyone or even receiving a return phone call or email to my numerous requests. I'm bummed as their customer service in this arena is also less than average. Overall, I will be going back to Village Wines for a quick glass of wine on the patio but will not be indulging in the food.

What has turned from a friendly neighborhood wine bar has turned into just a crowded noisy bar. There are so many better places to hang out in Woodinville from the Tavern to the Commons and the food is much better at these other locations. We went here on Friday night and the place was packed, service sucked and it was noisy. The musician they had was horrible. The food selection is OK and limited to pub grub. Unfortunately, they don't have a real kitchen by restaurant standards so are limited to what they can make there. The prices are expensive, even for Woodinville . The servers all seem to be cut from the same cloth and have this snobby, I don't care attitude. Parking is HORRIBLE! You'll probably have to park 1/2 mile away. All I can say is that there are much better choices to spend some happy hour time in the Hollywood area of Woodinville.

Great wine selection. Awesome food while wine tasting. Great truffle fries and truffle popcorn. And good rotating local beers for the beer drinker of the group.

So my boyfriend and I lived about 10 min drive from village wines, we've been here numerous times. We loved it, it was cozy and romantic, just a great atmosphere. We no longer live in the area and I miss it because we loved going here! The food is so yummy. we love the fondu just be careful it's really rich and order extra bread because they never give you enough and it can take an extremely long time to get an order if you wait till your fondu is out. It's so delicious and totally worth it!

First time in about 2 weeks ago, and I thought it was fantastic! Had 2 fab glasses of wine. My date had 2 nice beers and we shared the way too much! Fondue for two. It came with lots of meats (steak, sausage and prosciutto) veggies and crackers. It was all very yummy. I think we could of used some bread instead of one of the meats, but I'm not complaining. Like everyone says they have huge portions. Used a groupon and I thought this was an awesome deal. Now part of my Woodinville faves. The menu looks like fun and I look forward to exploring it all.

Where do I even start with this one? Interesting! We enjoyed the beer/wine/food options very much, but the service is what got to us. Even though the food was delicious...its hard to focus on that because the slow (but friendly) service killed it. We waited... and waited... and waited. Felt like forever! My boyfriend and I had plenty to talk about, and enjoyed the relaxed environment but our glasses sat empty for WAY too long. Even when we pushed it towards the edge and tried to signal (last resort move right?). The really kicker was I was doing the wine tasting (5 samples- which 3 they didn't even have in, so I was given some other wines that the server didn't elaborate on)... so I got a tiny pour then waited , and waited...... ... ........ server walks past us ....... server walks by again, ignores us .... ...... waiting... server walks by again, waiting... oh there she is, "excus..." nope... walks off again.... I mean seriously? The tasting took 45+mins. And they weren't that busy. We ordered 1 wine tasting, 2 beers, 1 glass of prosecco, cheese plate with a baguette... we were there for nearly an hour and half! This would of been much more acceptable if we were there for dinner or more drinks, or even on our own doing, we basically were just waiting the whole time. We ordered the glass of prosecco while asking for the check.. and guess what? The credit card sat there way past when I was done with my glass... Our whole experience would of been better if they hired more waitstaff- not even sure if that was the problem... The couple next to us didn't handle it as well as we did, they were clearly pissed how slow things were. Made us uncomfortable. I believe the owners were there but they weren't interacting with the customers much, even the empty glass ones- at least not the non regulars.

Microsoft Prime 2013 Respite Ambiance: 4 Food: 3 Value: 3 Nestled in the middle of Woodinville wine country, Wine Village is a good place to go for a break from touring the surrounding wineries, given the 2:1 Prime Card deal. The setting is rustic, like a wine cellar. There is a large bar in the middle with high tables/chairs sprinkled around. A cove to the right often has special tastings. In addition to the wines, there are also several beers. The food is on the lighter side, with chees/fruit/humus/salmon/meat plates dominating the selection. It was all pretty decent. It's not bad, but would not be my first choice. Firstly, it does not have TVs. Secondly, after a heavy bout of drinking, I prefer something more substantial to soak up the alcohol. I find the Red Hook pub to be better suited to those needs. Still, if you're around the turn-about, it's a solid choice.

Had a group of college friends visiting from the Midwest and we decided to make this our lunch stop. Spent a few hours late on a beautiful fall Friday afternoon two weeks ago enjoying just about everything on the happy hour menu. Good size portions and superb service. One gal in our group had a broken foot and the owner and staff REALLY went above and beyond to make her ( and the rest of us) comfortable. I can't stress that enough. Very nice people. Our experience here was terrific and much different than some of the others I've read about - it was very positive. I will return. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Won't be back. Came here a year ago and service and food lousy. Tonight instead of going to purple or commons figured we'd give village with each another try. Still terrible. So so overpriced cold food and lousy service as if wait staff are friends with regular customers and stand around talking to them while we wait for pretty much everything. Food was cold undoubtedly sat ready to serve while wait staff visited other people We won't be back again

The place is super cute and the food was really good. Get the tortellini appetizer--delicious! The tasting is $10 and is NOT waived with purchase. I suppose because it's more of a wine store than a tasting room but still disappointing. Kind of discouraged me from purchasing a bottle.

This is a great place to take a break from wine tasting. Yes it is a wine bar and they have tastings, but they also have a nice local beer selection and non-alcoholic beverages. We have been in twice. We got the fondue twice and on this last visit we also started with the truffle popcorn. The popcorn had very little truffle flavor. If I didn't order it I would not have thought it was truffle popcorn. The fondue is great, especially for meat eaters. They are generous with the steak and sausages; I would say overly so. The potatoes were wrapped in bacon and I am not complaining, but my does not dig on the swine. They put very little of the veggie/fruit variety on the plate and I would like to see a little less meat and a little more plant. The service has always been nice and the space is comfortable.

I have been to this great place twice. The first time I think this was the stop on an official bus wine tour. Seven of us went yesterday for lunch. They told us to go ahead and move the furniture around. We did, and had a great talk. We ordered all kinds of pizza, wings, there was a sandwich. We split everything, and had a very nice time. Food came quickly. The pizza was unique. I cannot wait to go back. It wasn't crowded at all. My friend said it's lots of fun to go there when they have live music.

Came here after a tough day of wine tasting with a group of friends to get some grub. Man, did we stumble on the right place! We went on a sunny spring afternoon with a party of six, and were seated right away with no problems. This "tapas" bar had so many awesome options that we all had a hard time choosing, so we pretty much ordered 1/3 of their menu and split everything. The pizza was crazy good, the truffle fries were on point, plus the fruit and cheese plate came with a jenga-style stack of cheese that we couldn't even finish! Throw some wine in the mix and you have a group of very happy campers. Clever sales strategy: the table we sat at was SURROUNDED by wines that were for sale. We ended up buying a few bottles... whoops! Definitely would recommend a stop here if you have a group with diverse food cravings.

This is by far the best place to kick back and enjoy the Woodinville vibe. Great assortment of wines, beer and creative menu. Icing on the cake is that it's kid friendly too, but in such a way it does not take away from grown up entertainment or ambiance. Nice job Village Wines!!!

Super nice staff, fun and casual ambience to take a break from the seemingly sophisticated larger wineries and upscale restaurants elsewhere. Found a Scuttlebutt Porter (Everett, WA) here (tastes like chocolate), and we ordered and shared tapas family style. Only drawback, I noticed no seafood options on the menu, and that's a big deal for me as I avoid cheese and red meat. Yes I know, wine tasting beckons cheese and bread. So I suggest adding some pescetarian and vegan options on the menu. Also, if you want entrées, then go elsewhere as this is a tapas bar only with pizza and sandwiches also. However, they have live music, and I wouldn't mind going back for a nightcap because it was a fun place.

My friend and I came in for a glass of wine, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday night with not many places left to sit. Service was fast and friendly. The wine menu was small and most glasses cost $10 or more. The wine I ordered was pretty good, and my friend really enjoyed her glass of the red special. The atmosphere was cozy and the food smelled great, but we didn't order anything to eat. The thing that made this place really enjoyable was the live musician that started playing later in the night. We would have stayed here all night to enjoy the music but were on a mission to see the other places in the area. I will definitely be back to visit this place again and hopefully try some food!

My husband and I went here on a date night because of their groupon deal. We spent a total of $100 for wine, 2 salads, and dessert. The wine was good but the food was mediocre. It doesn't seem that they have a chef on staff as the waitress tells me some things were prepared by a caterer beforehand. Let me tell you it is painful to spend this much for food that is crappy and service that is just ok, especially when you are right across the street from the purple wine bar. The waitress was hardly 21 and actually talked me out of a few more expensive wines due to her lack of knowledge. We went here because we like trying out new thing and because of the groupon but had we know we were going to spend this much I would have passed happily. there are so many great spots in Woodinville. Not one of them.

This is a great Woodinville spot, especially on a sunny day - they have a great patio area for enjoying a glass of wine. The wine selection is really good, they always have interesting wine by the glass or if you are in the mood for more you can select a bottle from the retail store. My favorite item on the menu is the flat-bread pizza. The menu is pretty simple but a good variety (I wouldn't suggest Village as a dinner destination) but snacks and lunch, it does the job just fine. Village also has guest wineries every weekend, normally the winemaker is there pouring so it's a fun treat.

Great atmosphere. Esp when there's live music. Awesome beer and wine selection. Excellent service. And the truffle fries make you think you might be in heaven... Or maybe a wine induced coma... Which is still heaven in my book!

Went here with girlfriends because we wanted to try a wine bar besides Purple. Overall, the food and wine was good - just overpriced. Dubliner Fruit and Cheese Plate - The one type of cheese that came on this plate was good, and there was a lot of it, but I would have preferred multiple types of cheese. Village Dip Platter - Delicious! I would definitely order this again. Turkey Panini - Came with a huge mound of potato salad. The panini was ok, too much bread and too little turkey for my taste. We all wanted wine, so were going to split a bottle to save some money - but they charge a $15 corkage fee for any bottle - even the ones that you buy there! We thought this was a bit ridiculous so ended up just getting glasses instead. If I went again I would probably just stick with cheese / dip plates and wine and skip the sandwich.

We absolutely love this place! The staff is always friendly and quick. The menu has a great variety of really good food. The wine menu is outstanding and offers a lot of premium local wines. They also have live music on the weekends, which is always fun. It's a great local hot spot that consistently delivers. Only knocking down 1 star for the lack of parking and the wine being a bit pricey. Still, it's better than the other local places.

I think the village wines is a fine place, however I got my car towed away here and had to pay over $300. !!!!!!! to get my car back. I could contest it and go though huge red tape but that cost me more money in time and hassle. Needless to say I wont be back!

I rarely give bad reviews. Especially after only one visit but I thought this was worth writing about. Village wines came highly recommended by some friends so we decided to meet another couple for some lunch and then head out to a winery or two. It was noon and the place was pretty quiet. We arrived on time but our counterparts were late so we ordered a glass of wine and the hummus plate. My boyfriend thought we had to order at the cash register because the wait staff took so long to come over. After we ordered an appetizer our friends arrived and we placed our lunch order. The food took an adequate amount of time but it was nothing special. I'm a healthy eater so I found the menu hard to choose from. My side of a "greek salad" came with 1/4 cup of what looked and tasted like sour cream. I also ordered the Portabella Mushroom Panini, which was ok. My counterparts ordered the cheese steak, turkey and French dip paninis. While we all thought to food was ok, the waitress never came with our check. In fact, we sat there with dirty dishes and empty glasses for at least 20 minutes before we went up to the cash register and paid our bills. Let me remind you. The place wasn't busy. While we'll probably give it another shot, this wasn't a stellar eating experience and the customer service needs a serious shot in the arm.

Decent enough lunch place with patio seating for warm sunny days. Everyone who works there is nice, but seems like they don't have any real restaurant service experience. My friend and I were one of two tables and asked for a minute to look at the menu. The waitress didn't come back for another 20 minutes. Food is decent at best and quite expensive for what you get. $8 for half a sandwich and a handful of chips, $8 for half salad that left me wanting more. Everything was underseasoned and underwhelming. Our waitress made the comment, "No one is finishing their food. Are we giving too much?" Hmmm, when people don't finish their food and don't ask for a doggy bag, maybe you should question how the food was instead of portion size. Just a tip. There's a cute little dog that runs around and says hi to everyone. That was probably the best part of my experience here. Maybe if you want a glass of wine and then left alone to chat with friends, this might be the place for you.

I absolutely love this little place! My friend and I are very indecisive when trying to choose places to eat. I don't usually have an issue deciding where to go...only with her. She found this place by a random google search of "restaurants in Woodinville." So we went! When we went inside, we thought that there was a dinner option but it looked like only a wine tasting place and were hence confused. We asked if they served food and they said that it was everything - a wine tasting place/bar/restaurant/and shop. It was GORGEOUS outside for once and were fortunate enough to sit outside. The service was pretty friendly and very knowledgeable. They provided great recommendations on food & wine. My friend and I split the Vineyard Salad (with candied nuts, apples, chicken, and toasted bread) and the brie with fig jam in a puff pastry. Both were exceptional! The two small plates plus my friend's glass of wine came to about $33 in total which was pretty reasonable for the quality of food. One of the most impressive meals that I've had in a while. Can't wait to come back!

This is our go-to place on most Fri nights. The staff is super friendly and service is generally good, even when it's crowded. We have our "favorite" servers who take good care of us as regulars :) We also signed up for the wine club membership (two bottles per month) so we always order a bottle of wine at retail price, but no corkage fee. In general, you get a bottle of wine for about 2.5 times the price of a glass - and you can cork it to take home if you want. There is a great wine selection from reasonably priced bargains to higher-end options. The food is better-than-average bar food. We love the flatbread pizzas, cheese trays, fondue, french dip, chop salad and special menu items (the best was the gazpacho with fresh dungeness crab last summer - please bring it back next year!) They also have a nice selection of beers including some local brews on tap, so if you are more into guzzling than sipping, you have that option. There is usually live music at least one night of the weekend and we've enjoyed the local musicians we've heard. As wine club members, we can enjoy tastings at no charge - so it's nice when the WA winemakers come with their latest offerings, which is usually every weekend. My company has scheduled a couple social events in the private room, which is very convenient and the food from the catering menu is always good. The crowd is also very nice (sometimes not so much in tourist season when the busses are hauling folks in from cruise lines, and the staff is stretched) and it's a relaxing place to sit on the patio when our weather is sunny! They are also dog-friendly, which I like.

I've been here a couple of times now and both times were great. The first time I came in our group sat at the bar and we did the $10 tasting which consisted of 6 pours and I thought they were pretty generous pours :) The second time I went we sat at a table and had appetizers ( truffle popcorn, meat and cheeses and veggies)which were really good. We also did the wine tasting again and since the waitress recognized us she switched up the wines on the tasting menu for us. We also had a new waitress shadowing her who was adorable and did a great job. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone since they also serve beer if you are not into wine and the prices are reasonable.

Any time you walk into a bar of any kind you want to feel like your comfortable and wanted. This place has all of that and more Not limited to just having great wine, service and staff. Their comfy seating arrangements lends a space for every mood. Everything from the literary reader who likes to sip wine while reading to those who want to have the Cheers feeling where everyone knows your name and laughs along with the daily trials and tribulations people have. Cliff and Norm would even give this place their stamp of approve from some wine sipping and tasty eats.

Village Wines provides one of the few spots for sipping wine and snacking in the Woodinville Tourist/Wine District. This combination wine store and cafe provides their entire retail inventory to drink by the bottle as well as wine by the glass, beer on tap and a menu with snacks and light entrees. The staff is very friendly and there are several seating areas: tall tables, bar, comfy sofas and my favorites: outdoor seating both covered and out in the open. All of the beverage and food selections change frequently enough that you can stop by every month and find something new. If you like to stop in every week [raising my hand] Village is great too: there are frequently tasty things available 'off menu' like their seafood salad. As with anything having to do with wine you can spend a little or a lot. You can pull a $120 bottle of wine off the shelf and order pricey food items or you can have a glass of wine for $5 and one of the daily food specials like Tuesdays' tasty croque monsieur with fries for $8. Note that Village charges a $12 corkage fee for bottles purchased from the retail shelves though not for the more limited selection behind the bar, this is waived if you are wine club member - and Village does have a nice little wine club providing two bottles of hard to get and unusual but excellent wines per month. The club has other benefits like free tasting events, not to mention the privilege of being considered a regular.

Originally I just thought this was a decent place to escape mobs of wine tasters and grab a glass, or a micro brew, but a recent Groupon encouraged us to sample the food menu - awesome! While the food menu is somewhat limited, there is something for everyone and the quality shines. Our favorite is definitely the Reuben Wrap. Service is also friendly and attentive without being overbearing. If you're looking to kick back and relax with a nice selection of wines and beer, I definitely recommend Village Wines. Bonus points also go to their free wi-fi and mug club!

We often frequent Woodinville for wine tasting and decided to try this little gem and get a bite to eat as well. Wow. The fondue plate was better than I ever could have dreamed. We had intended to get that and a sandwich to split (we're professional cheese eaters, there's never enough), but when placing our order the server recommended we not place the order for the croque monsieur as the fondue plate is large. Oh, and it was! so much food, fantastic fondue and a server that was looking out for us. Village Wines has earned a stop in our normal dining out rotation.

Simple review is poor service. Two of us went in on a Saturday night and they were busy. We sat at the bar and were served glasses if water and handed menus. The bar was filled with wait staff emptying the dishwasher, sorting bills, staring at customers, but not offering a glass if wine or..... The was a particular waitress who walked into bar at least 3 times and never said a word. After 15 minutes of absolutely NO service we left. I'm sure no one noticed, as they certainly didn't notice when we were there. I should have opened with no service.

I came here with a friend to use up a Living Social deal and we had a great time! The decor is simple; it could use some more seating, but is nice and open for the small space. It has a bar in the middle and then some comfy chairs and more personal seating over in the right hand corner. I would say if you were going for a super fancy, sophisticated wine bar, there are other small wineries and wine bars in the area that better meet that criteria. It is a great place to go with friends for a low key wine drinking evening. It is a trendy looking place, but is definitely somewhere you could go in casual attire as well. I wouldn't take someone here for the "first date" but perhaps it'd be a fun place to go for a night cap (closes at 8pm weekdays, 9pm weekends). The wine glasses are large and the pours are generous (so bonus points in my book). The snacks were rather tasty and the wines were delicious. I would describe the place as trendy yet chill. I felt very comfortable hanging out with my girlfriend, having some wine and talking until they closed. The service never rushed us and I really liked that. I had just a couple reservations about this place: 1. The wine menu solely lists the wine and its origin. It doesn't state anything about the flavors or delicious food pairings. 2. The server also didn't offer any descriptions about the wines. 3. The prices are reasonable, some more expensive than others, but for certain dishes, I was rather disappointed with the quality of food compared to the price. For example, I ordered the $12 Cheese & Meat plate. It was good, but mind you, for 12 dollars, at a wine bar, I would expect nicer cheeses than cheese cubes (which you could purchase at a grocery store). Overall, my experience here was relaxed, fun, and enjoyable. The service didn't rush us and made us feel at home, the chairs were very comfortable (didn't sit at the bar, so I'm not sure how the stools fare), the place was sleek looking with rich tones, and the wines were delicious with large pours. I had a couple reservations but the visit was totally worth it; I'd recommend that anyone try this place at least once. And I'm currently making plans to go back again!

Love coming here. Not only do they have a great (and huge). Wine selection but they have yummy pizza and a decent cheese plate. They usually have a beer or two on tap too, which is a nice change of pace after wine tasting at the wineries next door. The staff is friendly the food is good and the beverage selection is wonderful. We go here once every few months, sometimes more frequently and love it.

My husband and I stopped back in here last weekend and had quite a different experience than last time. We ordered the same food and it was still delicious, but the service really declined. We were greeted by one waitress who told us about the guest winemaker visiting and offered us a tasting. We went to do the tasting ($5/person, refunded if you buy a bottle) and when we came back to our table, we were ignored for a while. The owner took our drink order and started to take our menus without asking if we wanted food, so we had to stop her and tell her we wanted to order a meal. We weren't checked in on before the food arrived, my water glass remained empty and the waitress spilled a drink on my purse and didn't seem too bothered by it. We tried to engage the owner in conversation about new beer she was going to have on tap, but she was cold and unfriendly. I'm not sure if I'll return. This trip left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm a Woodinville local but hadn't tried Village Wines until I bought a Groupon. Overall it was a good experience. Pros: They have a pretty good wine selection - good variety. The food was really good. My husband had the cheese plate and I had the chicken sandwich (messy and large). There's outdoor seating during the summer months, which is where we ate. There was no attempt to hurry us along. We were allowed and able to sit and sip wine for a good 2 hours. The service is decent and the prices were fairly reasonable. Cons: This place closes early, even on a Friday or Saturday. The first attempt to eat here, we ended up having to go across the street to Purple because they were closing at 8pm. Also, the place is small and parking here is difficult.

This place is cool but overpriced. Wine pours are pretty small too. The appetizers are $7-9 and the portions are small. 1 pita cut up, hummus and veggies for $7 is pretty steep considering it probably cost them $.50 cents to make it. That would be more of a $5 appetizer plate at any other place. The service is great, the ambiance is great. It's more of a place for a snack and a drink. 2 apps, 2 glasses of wine = $48. Mine as well get the three course meal at purple with a big glass of vino for the same price. Every time we go, we forget how pricey it is. I like the place, I just think the prices are steep for what you get.

Some friends are regulars here and I had spent time with them at the old location a couple of times. I was invited to a party there yesterday and wow! what a difference in the new location! There is a small party room in the back which was fun and intimate. I didn't get a chance to really peruse the shelves in depth but I did see a pretty good selection of wine. People were hanging out and having food there as well that looked pretty good. Hoping I am invited back again! :)

I had not been to Village Wines for quite a while and so when I went there last month with a girlfriend I was so pleasantly surprised to see what a happening place it had become! There was a nice crowd, live music and the atmosphere was great. The service was really good as well and I can't say enough about the wine and food! I have been back 3 times since! Yeah for another great place to go in Woodinville!

What a gem. We were in Woodinville on a Saturday afternoon, looking for a wine place that also served beer and food, preferably pizza. Every place was packed, as expected on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We found Village Wines and were so happy. The flatbread pizza was terrific, as was the chopped salad. Great beer and wine too! A nice blues trio was sound checking as we were leaving - it would have been great to stick around for the great music. I love the patio, and inside there is a great variety of seating (comfy couches, regular tables, high tables) - anything you could ask for. Can't wait to go back!

I really like this place. I love their lavash pizzas, their wraps, and their appetizers. I especially love their Gazpacho - if you ask them, it is usually available even though it is not on the menu. I like to sit outside whenever possible. I have always had pretty good service here unlike some of the other reviewers, but it can be a little bit slow during peak hours.

They've moved - they're now kitty corner to where they used to be, near the new crop of wineries popping up (Airfield Estates, Darby, Goose Ridge...). This is a double-edged sword. Their new location is a bit more "out there", which is undoubtedly a bonus for them. It's bigger, there's more seating, and they've expanded the menu. These = awesome. They also have a private event space that you can rent. It's gorgeous. It's also where I dock them a star. I'd been sending emails back and forth for a couple of months, hoping to host an event there, and when I never heard back on pricing, I went in to talk to them face-to-face. I got the card for the event manager and emailed her and several days later, still hadn't heard back. So I called her and finally had a chance to get some pricing and was told that she'd email me a proposal. That was earlier today, before lunch. I still haven't heard anything. As this is the only hiccup I've had with this place (and I've been many times and have brought family and friends), it's only going to go down one star. I'm also guessing that perhaps they're still ironing out the details - their old space didn't have an event space so this is likely new for them. But if you want to have an event there, be aggressive and plan super early. EDIT: I got an email from their event manager a day later with the proposal. The date was right but the name of the event was wrong. (Wrong type of party.) A small detail in the big scheme of things, but when you're looking to pay a good chunk of money to host an event, the least the other party could do is get the name of the event right.

I'm not sure where this place is getting all these great reviews from. It wasn't bad but we popped in for a drink on a Friday night and there was no place to sit; not because it was so packed but because there's so much open space and so few places to sit. It's kind of like a coffee shop decor with a bar in the middle that also has shelves of wine for sale and serves some creative but simple food dishes. I was confused as to where to go and how to order when I first walked in. Once we were able to finally grab a spot at the bar on one of the most uncomfortable stools ever made we were ignored for several minutes while the three bartenders ran around aimlessly. When we finally snagged a wine list I was shocked at how few selections there were to choose from for a place that holds itself out as a wine bar. I figured that maybe there gimmick was you buy one of the bottles there and they'll open it for you but that'll cost you $15 a bottle unless you're a wine club member. I will say that the bacon wrapped dates were pretty good but I caught a glimpse of the "kitchen" on my way back from the restroom and it was clearly just a prep area with a couple of countertop convection ovens. Maybe I didn't see everything but that would explain why the food just didn't seem well prepared. I'm not saying they aren't doing great things with limited resources, but this place is having a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a wine bar? A wine store? A snack bar? A coffee shop? I don't know but whatever it is, the service leaves much to be desired as does their by the glass selection and menu. For a little more, you could get a lot better across the street.

Went to Village Wines recently on a Friday night and had an amazing time! It truly is a hidden gem on the Eastside. Great food, awesome service and the wine is closer to retail than restaurant prices. I will definitely be back!

We also came here last Saturday on Father's Day and had the same, if not worse, experience as the review from Marie B: utterly ABYSMAL service on a level I have never experienced anywhere. Quick summary: - The place was nearly deserted, but we were ignored almost the entire time we were there. - Asked the waitress if a beer they had was bitter/hoppy, and rather than admitting she didn't know, she said "it's normal." Was about the bitterest beer I'd ever had. When I said as much, she said "Oh, sorry you don't like it!" and walked off. - $14 burger I was told would be "huge" was a tiny piece of the cheapest hamburger you could buy on a grocery store pre-packaged bun (you know, the kind that come in bags of 8 for $1.99). - Took a full 20 minutes (and a reminder) to bring out dessert. - Saw our waitress going in to the restroom with an armful of toilet paper before bringing our dessert (why in the world is someone serving food also servicing the restroom?). - There is no dessert menu, so that you can't see the prices...which are ridiculous. Bland, stale little brownie? $10. Piece of cheesecake? $10. They hope people will be drunk or not want to sound cheap by asking so they can rip you off. - Never brought the last drinks we ordered, when there were only two other small parties in the entire place and our waitress had nothing else to do. - Wrote in an 18% tip for themselves for the worst service I've ever experienced (not a large party either). So, if you like paying absurd prices for mediocre food and being treated like complete crap, this place comes highly recommended. We'll never go back, and be sure to warn anyone coming to Woodinville to steer clear. Purple across the street has food that's to die for at the same prices, free corkage on the first bottle you bring in (think this place wanted to charge like $25 or $30), and fantastic service. If you're up this way, go to Purple instead.

When you go to click two stars to write a rating, the description is "Meh. I've experienced better." ... and that pretty much sums it up. I'm actually at Village Wines pretty often, though I plan to fix that sooner rather than later - just looking for something similar but better in the close vicinity. The location is perfect if you're looking for somewhere to go after an afternoon of wine tasting... or beforehand for some appetizers. 5 stars for location. The space is understated, but comfy, just doesn't have a whole lot of seating inside... and for heaven's sake I don't know what it is about this place and Pine Sol. It's like they wipe EVERYTHING with it - so it constantly smells, and it's not great for pairing with wine. So the space, 3 stars in the summer because of the patio, 2 in the winter. The food selection and quality is pretty good for a "bistro" type place, but I absolutely agree with the poster that mentioned the cheese and meat platter having just cubes of cheddar. Not impressive when you're competing with Purple across the street and their huge selection of great cheeses. Wine selection by the bottle is good, by the glass is fairly limited but very well chosen. Great for lunch or late afternoon if you're in the area and don't want to spend the money on Purple Cafe... but here's where I say Purple is worth it. THE SERVICE. I don't know what the deal is at Village, but it literally sometimes feels like they'd rather not have business. It's not rare to be treated like an inconvenience or be ignored for long stretches of time. They've got a GREAT space for hosting little parties - but good luck getting the owner to call or email you back when you inquire about booking. I had hoped to host my office party for 35 people and a few thousand dollars there, but no luck getting a response so I'm looking elsewhere. I just figure it's true what they say - everything rolls from the top down. So the owner doesn't want business, and that attitude flows right to the employees.

The owner is so sweet! It is just a little shop, but great for a summer day! I love the tastings as well as the snacks.

Went here for some quick bites to eat before we started wine tasting. It's a cute little shop with a great wine selection and the cutest little dog that greets you at the door! We got some bacon wrapped dates stuffed with almonds (yum!) and some crostini with brie, proscuitto and fig jam which was my favorite. The wine by the glass selection could have been better but I liked their food selection and would go here again for more eats.

Five stars for the food, three stars for the wine shop. The food: Sooo much better than Purple across the street. Sooo. Much. Better. We had an asiago and olive oil "salsa", a hummus plate, and a flatbread pizza-like creation, with a couple glasses of Brian Carter's Tuttorosso. If they have the "salsa" made of asiago and olive oil, get it! My friend and I laid waste to the whole plate - and the serving was sizeable for the price even before the happy hour discount (a pleasant surprise). It was amazingly delicious, and they sell it in tubs for takeout as well, we were told. A great balance of cheese, oil, garlic, and basil. Not diet food, but soooo worth it. The hummus was very nice and came with more than the usual array of vegetable and fruit garnishes. The flatbread pizza was very nice as well - goat cheese and onion and turkey blended very well together in the mouth - better than a lot of the offerings at the presumably fancier neighbor Purple Cafe. The service was very warm and down to earth. I will definitely be back to relax and hang out with my wino friends. I mean wine nut friends. The wine selection is very good, but the prices seem high to me. There's a lot of value out there these days, and Village doesn't seem to have gotten the memo. I've been buying a lot of great wine at QFC for 15%-30% off the usual price, and I do expect to be able to find at least the occasional deal off of "list", but I guess that is not what Village Wines is all about. I do agree that they have wines that are hard to find and I would buy from them if I wanted something specific; for example, they have Broadley Estates pinot noir, which I have not seen since the demise of Larry's Market (*sob*). If I wanted a bottle of Broadley I would come here to get it. There are plenty of other examples - Village has a great selection of GOOD Australian wine from McLaren Vale, and I would buy that here too. I just wouldn't come by to buy 95% of the wine that I shop for, because I can get it cheaper someplace else - either at the winery or at the supermarket. Certainly Village Wines as a wine shop does not fill the shoes of the late lamented VinElla which was wiped out by the December flood some years back. Absolutely go for the happy hour or for a quick snack break while visiting the many tasting rooms nearby - and get wine if they have that special hard to find bottle you've been seeking.

I've been going to Village Wines since their inception and followed them to their new spacious location as they grew. The staff, atmosphere, and owners are what make this Tasting Room an entirely unique experence. Great food, lots of room and a must visit on your list when in the Woodinville area.

Village Wines is my favorite local wine shop. I don't know what I like better - the wine there, or the people... and that is saying something considering how much I like wine ;) Village prides itself on being a "place to gather" - which means every time I walk in I am greeted by the entire staff and encouraged to taste what they are pouring! The friendly folks who seem to frequent this place are quick to engage in a conversation about anything wine related which makes me feel "right at home". The selection is great and prices are very affordable. If you are looking for something specific - the staff is sure to find you something fabulous! I also love that they are open 7 days a week, many times until 7 or 8 pm which is perfect when you want to swing by and pick up a bottle before a dinner party!! If Woodinville is out of your way - at least visit their website and join their mailing list. They send out a great calendar of events that will be sure to peak your interest and get you to make the drive out!

Located in Woodinville, WA just around the corner from Willows Lodge, Red Hook Brewery, and Chateau Ste. Michelle, Village Wines (as their slogan indicates) is indeed a great place to gather around wine. If you're a fan of local flavor then this small wine shop/bar is the place for you. Their small friendly shop offers an extensive selection of Northwest wines, including some hard to find premiums, as well as a few key California and European bottles. With their tasting bar Village Wines takes a "try before you buy" approach to wine, which is a great relief to those troubled with the difficult task of wine selection. Or feel free to just stop in for a glass and a light snack. Either way the friendly courteous staff will often go out of their way to make you feel welcome. One unique aspect to this enjoyable wine shop is their "Wine Communities" or wine clubs. Many of the amenities are the same found in other clubs, including 15% case discounts, 10% off additional wine selections, free events and tastings. But the thing that really stands out is the option for members to come in the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month and personally vote (via blind tasting) on the selected wines for that month. Support this shop because they definitely support the local wine community.

This great wine shop has recently moved to a new and much larger location just across the traffic circle to Woodinville's newest wine mall. They have the same great wine selections and knowledgeable staff and so it's a great place to go to taste local wines. Not everything was finished when I was there - the deli case was empty and the private dining room was still under construction but it is still worth the stop. I am sure I will be back to five stars when the place is finished!
