The food is ok. I'm not impressed enough to go back. This is my second visit. That's enough. There are lots of other Thai restaurants from which to choose. The Pad Thai was dry and bland. The heat was a little hotter than the medium I asked for, but fine. The Panang was a little better but not great. I liked the coconut chicken. You know, I want to be enthusiastic and positive, but it was, just ok. If you're hungry and it's the only restaurant that looks interesting, it's ok. Some people love this place so maybe it just an off night.

Bad sign #1: 6pm on a Saturday night, and we're the only table. Bad sign #2 Wait staff couldn't tell me the difference between Lao and Thai. I admit, I'm ignorant when it comes to Laotian cuisine, but am I an ass for assuming the waitstaff could educate me? At the very least, give a suggestion? Meals were disappointing and unmemorable. My 'chicken' dish was mostly gristle and couldn't stomach it after a few bits. Sorry Wild Tiger, never again.

It was good. The orange chicken was great. Sweet and sour was different. Probably won't go back. Nice people though.

Second time eating here and it's on point! The food is delicious, not oily whatsoever, they serve brown rice, and the spicy level is superb! I will def visit next time I'm in the area. Very nice environment: clean and the staff is very nice.

What an insult. We had a gift certificate for $50 for this location on 164th, and the owner wouldn't honor it! Talk about a crooked deal! The food was so-so but worse the service was poor. They were unable to make 2 of the cocktails on their menu, because they didn't have the ingredients. We had to ask for silverware and plates, twice. No water for 3 of us and no refills for the others. The egg drills dripped with oil. Beware -if they won't honor a legitimate gift certificate, they probably won't last long. All-in-all, I spent $75 and won't go back. I recommend you don't visit this establishment either.

We have been coming here for awhile. Working our way thru the menu. So far everything has been tasty, fast and fresh. The owners are great and the waitstaff is always friendly.

Environment is important to me.... We were the first to walk in. The room was large and empty and from the lounge you could hear sports on the TV. No music played and the place felt cavernous. Ordered the spring rolls, as a vegetarian dish.... Came with fish sauce. All of our food came out at different times. You could hear children crying from the back room. Service was mediocre but I have no complaints about the food. I probably will give this place a second chance another time just to give the benefit of the doubt. First visit overall, very mediocre.

The Pad Thai was very good. Prices were even better! The service, not so much. I was greeted at the door and seated immediately, but the server walked away from the table in the middle of taking my order, to seat another customer. I would probably come back to eat again, but not my top choice of Thai food restaurants around me.

Good pad thai, decent prices, a little light on the chicken and spice but still not bad. Got it to go but looked like a nice enough spot.

Had dinner here & it was pretty good. The decor is nice, but it was pretty cold near the window where we sat...bring a sweater if you're the chilly type Ordered the Masman curry & it was pretty good, although I'm used to a creamier sauce & more of it as well as a bit more spice...I ordered medium, but I think due to the discussion at our table about spice they might have asked the kitchen to tone it down a bit more than medium. We had one dish that was ordered mild, so they probably figured they'd keep it down a little for the whole table? They brought out one bowl of rice for us to share & that did end up being enough for us all, however the portions seemed rather small as I usually have leftovers & was able to eat my entire order On the plus side, I was able to order the Masman curry with chicken after the server confirmed it was all white meat. I'm a bit picky meat-wise, but didn't find anything that shouldn't be in there. I would feel confident ordering their chicken again

Excellent food! Got the Pah Ram Noodles, girlfriend got the fried rice, and her mom got the garlic chicken. Each plate was delicious! Service was fast, drinks were stiff, and food was good. Can't ask for much more! So far, best Thai I've had in Vancouver.

Love this place. My girlfriend Katherine and I go about once a week. The food and service is suburb. The owner, Peck, is super nice guy and he makes some mean drinks. I can't think of a better Thai restaurant in town and I have been to several. We always go for happy hour and sit in the bar area. There are several great items on the happy hour menu. Their peanut sauce is delicious and we always get extra. The atmosphere is quiet and very comfortable. It surprises us each time we go that the place isn't always packed. Recently, they have done some nice renovations, including a projection TV in the bar. Wild Tiger is a great place. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

My guests and I have enjoyed Wild Tiger's food many times since they first opened. We like this place and will continue going back. There is a lot of seating available, so at non-peak times it can seem empty, but it has a very nice atmosphere. It is just off of 164th Avenue, just north of Fred Meyer, and just east of Walgreen's. It's a great alternative to Gustav's.

Came back and tried the garlic chicken with no shrooms and medium spice this time (didn't get asked and forgot to ask last time) and it's definitely better than I remember. Still don't think I'll be a regular here but I have to give 'em the extra star.

This has turned in to something of a "regular" dinner spot for us and a business lunch meeting spot as well. The atmosphere is nice and while I've been concerned for years now that the the lack of any crowds-- ever-- would lead to their demise, thankfully that hasn't been the case. We typically order the fresh salad rolls and 'tiger sampler' (a collection of chicken satay, deep fried tofu, deep friend egg rolls, etc.) and then pick out a dish or two for the main course. The curries are good -- Massaman is a safe bet (although once the potatoes were been undercooked) and while I'm not sure if it's *really* "pumpkin", the Pumpkin curry is good too. (I suspect it might be some kind of other squash, but whatever, it's tasty.) I've been working my way through the 'specials', choosing a different one each time and have yet to hit anything I really *disliked*. I find that I've ordered the Thai Peanut Combination and Garlic Chicken more that others. A word of warning-- if you're used to being able to order a 'medium' spice at other Americanized Thai restaurants proceed with caution here. Medium can be pretty firey if you're not used to some heat! I wouldn't say that their Pad Thai is the best in the area, but like seemingly every Thai place on the planet it is unique to them and a welcome addition from time to time. The soups are quite good and generously sized-- we like the Tom Yum and Tom Ka. As I mentioned before, they are seemingly never busy and service is usually quite good. Due to the relatively high ceilings and general lack of crowds it can be a good spot to go with a group if you want to be able to visit and have the whole table able to hear. Lunch is probably the best deal. Basically a dinner sized portion served as the lunch price. Once in a while they do something kind-of weird-- like wanting to charge an extra $1.50 for a little extra container of jasmine rice to take home with leftovers (after just dropping $150+ on a group dinner?!?), so that combined with a slightly inconsistent delivery (the aforementioned raw potatoes in a curry and somewhat unpredictable spice levels) keeps them just out of five-star range for me, but it's still a favorite spot for us here in East Vancouver.

Based on word of mouth we decided to check it out. The jungle soup was delicious, as was the red snapper with pineapple. All the dishes were fresh, and serving size was great. Beware! If you request HOT it WILL be SPICY! The space is very nice and clean, would definitely recommend to others.

We've eaten here a number of times and only once was I less than impressed with my order (the stir fry was greasier than usual). I highly recommend their fresh spring rolls - the sauce is delicious and I often use a spoon to finish it all up (much to hubby's amusement). The portions are a decent size, food is tasty, and the service always friendly.

We waited awhile before giving this one a try. We live in the area and have been using Arawan, but their prices and oversweet pad thai became too much to bear. We stopped her at 4 pm on a Sat for an early dinner. We ordered an assortment to go, including veg egg rolls which is my flavor/crunch standard. They were excellent, very flavorful without any sauce (they gave us a great dipping sauce anyway) tons of crunch. We ate those in the car on the way home with our takeout. Service was fast, friendly and the food was hot and fresh. Pad thai was a bit too mild for me but that was my fault for forgetting to specify heat level. Husband was less impressed with Panang Curry but the taste was fine. Curry rice was the only slight disappointment and that was a texture problem. Overcooked and mushy. I will go back again, if for nothing else than those egg rolls!

Dieing to find something other than Roots and Phillys to eat at in the area so tried this new place. Another disappointment. place was dead empty at 6pm...bad sign. Waitress was friendly, but when asked what the difference was between Lao & Thai, she said "nothing". Ok - then why bother calling it out on the name. Me - What is a special Loa dish here? Her - ah...they are all good. Friends...all look with blank stares & think..."should we leave now?" Friend - so...what DO you like here? Her - oh...I like the peanut chicken. So we decide to just wing it and try the standards to set the benchmark - salad rolls, tum yum, papaya salad, pad thai, evil prince. well everything came out one at a time...slowly. We were hungry so ate some of whatever came out so it would not be cold when everything finally showed. all was blah...seemed fresh, but not really flavorful. one dish was SO hot that my two friends could not eat it, even though we asked for Medium with extra chilies on the side (which never came). Pad thai was a glutenous mass, over sugared, dark in color. Salad rolls were too full of noodle, not enough veg. Soup was decent, but was cool. I will keep hunting.

This is some pretty tasty Thai food. They don't pull any punches when you order it hot which is excellent. The service was friendly, and the portions were great for the price. Lunch is probably my favorite time to come through this particular location because it's not crazy busy.

I've gone to Wild Tiger several times and everytime I go it's nearly empty. I understand that the location is odd, but they have great food and service and I've never been disappointed. The pad see ew and appetizer sampler is worth trying.

I went to Wild Tiger with several coworkers for lunch, and it was obvious that they had only been open for a few weeks. I am going to hope that after being open for longer, the food and service will improve. The first obvious indicator that they were very new at things was when we were seated. Our group was led to a table with five seats, even though there were six of us, and we told the hostess there were six in our group. Nonetheless, we simply reseated ourselves at the very next table, which had six seats. The second tip off this place was new had to do with our order. Aside from a small hassle with the hostess taking our orders, five out of the six of us were served our dishes before the appetizer arrived. Definitely a bit backwards. Other than the fact all our dishes had the same level of spice (basically none whatsoever) even though we ordered different spice levels, the restaurant had a pleasantly calm ambiance. The staff were very friendly and attentive. And although I complain about the food not having enough spice, it was still savory. With that said, I can only see this place getting better with time and more experience. I waver between a two and a three, but I'll give Wild Tiger the benefit of the doubt and round up. On a side note, they did appear to have a large drink menu, so I may just find myself there on a weekend.

Not bad for a lunch place. They worked with us on making low-sodium modifications to our vegetable stir fry. I'd love to come here when I have more of an appetite and try some of their more unique dishes. My favorite Thai dish is sweet and sour tofu, so I ordered that as my test dish. It was alright, but the sauce tasted more Chinese than Thai, which was disappointing. The serving was quite small and sauce to food ratio was disproportionate. I would have liked to see more fresh veggies on the plate. As for location, it's a great date atmosphere. But the dining room is unfortunately located becasue they have huge windows that look over the back of Fred Meyer and the Walgreens parking lot... not much of a view. The interior design is wonderfully thought out with neatly made up place settings and nicely folded cloth napkins. Sadly, our meals were served on a brown speckled plates which ruined the fancy feeling I initially had when walking in. Overall, I was happy but unimpressed. I really expect to see more when there is another great Thai food restaurant down the street. Our meal was 21.00 for us to get two dishes with rice and one order of green tea.

Wild Tiger is a hidden gem. The people are very friendly, and the food is outstanding. I choose to have my dishes vegan, so Thai food and tofu are particular favorites of mine. As a result, I have eaten in many (most?) of the Thai and Chinese restaurants in the Vancouver-Camas area, and many in the greater Portland area as well. Wild Tiger might just have the best food. If you like woon sen noodles (thin cellophane noodles made of bean thread, that have fewer carbs than rice noodles), try their Silver noodle dish. It is less sweet, and equally flavorful as Pad Thai. A friend who likes fried rice dishes, tells me that their Pineapple Fried Rice is outstanding as well. Wild Tiger has all the usual meat and seafood choices. It is unusual, in my experience, however, for a restaurant to also cater to vegans as well as they do. Regarding spice, be sure to be accurate in specifying what level of spiciness you want. their version of "mild" is not at all hot, so let them know exactly how you would like your dish spiced, and they will be glad to oblige. Wild Tiger has much less business than it should have - due to its hidden location (it is in the mall near Tully's, off 164th Ave., and its entry faces away from the street). Try it, to see if you agree that it serves excellent food, and pass the word to your friends. These people deserve to do well.

Loved the Pad Thai. Asked for 5 stars and broke a sweat. Washing it down with a cold Laotian beer helped. Friendly service.

I've been to this Thai/Loa restaurant three times now and I've had a great experience all three times. It's beautiful and classy inside. Staff service was exceptional, cocktails and food items were well prepared and the food was first rate. I travel a lot for a living and therefore eat out a lot. I've had Thai food throughout my travels and this place is right up there. The Jungle Soup is very, very good. Pad Thai was good, but then again Pad Thai is what it is. Last night I had the Evil Prince, a red curry dish with tofu and vegetables. It was spicy and it was outstanding. Some posts on this thread mention lack of clientele. This has also been my experience here. I believe there is one apparent reason, exposure. It's a relative new restaurant, it faces away from traffic on 164th and is difficult to see and they haven't advertised. If more folks in Vancouver (and Portland) knew it was here I believe it would be packed at the lunch and dinner hours. Unfortunately, until they do start advertising and until they get the exposure the slow traffic will continue and and I'm afraid this little restaurant will not last. Its a pity as Vancouver doesn't have that much to offer in creative and innovative fare.

First of all, the atmosphere is great! Warm colors, booths and chairs to choose from, clean, and professional. You're always greeted by a smiling host or hostess who guides you to the table of your choice and provides you with a menu providing a vast array of Thai or Laotian food. Dinner has a book of choices whereas lunch is just a front and back page. In either case, though, they have a good variety of noodles and curries. There is a sports bar tucked near the entrance if you prefer not to have a sit down meal. They're also more than willing to take orders for takeout. They had us sit in the restaurant rather than make us sit by the door, which I thought was quite kind. The price isn't too expensive and it is quite filling and delicious! The only thing I may have to say is that the booths are very worn and somewhat torn from use and possible neglect. Despite this, however, everything is quite clean, food is great, and staff is awesome!

First of all, I only gave one star because there wasn't an option to not give any stars. I went to Wild Tiger with my husband for happy hour last Monday night. We ordered one drink, three happy hour appetizers and an entrée. The food came out relatively quickly considering we were the only table in the whole restaurant. (We should have left when we realized that before we sat down...) When we got our bill we were surprised at the total, seeing how we purchased happy hour entrees all priced at $3.00 each - I tracked down the waiter (he was pre-occupied watching the Seahawks game on the bar television) and asked him about the total; which he replied that I failed to SPECIFY that I wanted happy hour entrees (during happy hour) so he charged us FULL PRICE for all three appetizers. It seems as though they were hurting for business (hence the empty restaurant and the sneaky way they charge full price during happy hour.) - They lost our business and we will NEVER go back there again. If you do decide you want to check it out - make sure you SPECIFY you want happy hour during happy hour, or be prepared to pay full price for your choices!
