I've been going here for the past four years, ever since I moved to Vancouver from Michigan. It was the place I first went to and discovered that "Hey, Sushi is pretty effing awesome if it's made right." Over the past four years this place has made a steady decline, and I'm not really sure HOW it stays so popular despite this fact. It's incredibly crowded anymore now and the wait staff are NOT friendly at all. The staff preparing sushi behind the conveyor will do EVERYTHING in their power to ignore you in their rush to churn out as much mediocre sushi as possible. Even getting so much as a glass of water in this place is a nightmare. I literally went to this place on such a frequent basis that all of the staff knew me, and now when I go in, I don't even get a smile as I'm being guided to my (extremely crowded) seat. If they were to invest in a bigger place and more staff this place could be good again, but as it stands right now... Unless you like being systematically ignored by the entire staff and having people practically sitting in your lap while you try to eat, I would forego Sushi Hana for the less crowded, much more friendly Sushi Factory. (Essentially the SAME restaurant with much better service.) And take that from four years of experience.

When we don't want to make the trip to Portland for Sinju Sushi, this place hits the spot. Tried this place for the first time after going to Sushi Land a few days before. Sushi Hana is now our #1 Vancouver Sushi Place!! Above Average for Quality of food for an unbeatable price! Atmosphere could use some updating, but other than that, we are fans!

The sushi was not the best I've ever had but it is super cheap and you don't have to wait. Perfect for lunch when you're short on time! I will be back regularly!

So, limited seating - only a few booths and they are for parties of 3 or more. Counter is fun and where you will likely be. You can call in an order at the counter and they'll make it for you - recommend volcano and dragon rolls - very tasty. Service is what it is for a place like this - just need to get my drink re-filled and they do - so I'm okay with them. Sushi itself is good as well as cheap. Normally I would steer clear of a conveyer belt sushi place, but my friend brought me and now I have been 4 or 5 times - good place.

Back in town and my friends took me here. Used to come here from time to time but after eating sushi in san diego... This was mediocre. Price was cheap but eh. I wouldn't mind spending more for better tasting sushi. Cheers and good eats.

My kids and i often frequent this establishment, however the few times we've gone back the food has been ok and the service went from great to not so good. We went back there today for a quick bite and was seated at the bar since the booths were full. The sushi on the conveyor belt looked like it was made in the morning and was kept there till about 3ish. Also, there wasn't anything to choose from....... we had to flag down our waitress for water and the Hispanic guy that we ordered sushi from looked like he didn't want to be there. To make a long story short, i love cheap and good eats but this place is going down hill! Time to find a new place to have QT time with my girls. =(

Slightly less than average belt sushi. Would much prefer Eastland Asian sushi at maybe 15% more cost. I admit I'm a picky sushi person. If belt sushi on the cheap is your thing this this place will fill you up with it.

We LOVE Sushi Hana. Since both of us like different plates, it's perfect for us. We don't have to share. I love the conveyor belt and being able to choose what I want to eat. My bf loves the raw tuna and usually eats two plates of that. Not my fav. I go more for the Vegas rolls and cream cheese asparagus rolls, yum! The prices went up the first of the year, I believe the plates are now $1.35 each, along with your $1 sitting fee (not sure what that's about really). The food is fresh and good and we will continue to enjoy eating there.

Delicious and just as good as their locations in Tigard. The Vegas and Dynamite rolls are the best!

Fast Cheap Sushi This is going to be the name of my next band. Sushi Hana is awesome for a quick business lunch. It's awesome for any lunch! I haven't been there for dinner yet though... The food is fresh, it is right in front of you, and it tastes great! The presentation is good, and who can resist the awesomeness of a conveyor belt of food right in front of you! I was particularly delighted by the rice nugget machine. It just plops out a pre-made nugget of rice for the sushi with sashimi on top. So convenient! I was a nerd and didn't understand the gigantic sign yesterday that said they were having a special and all dishes were a dollar. I guess that was why I got confused when I saw the same dish on two different colored plates. Hopefully that will keep going this week, and next time I go, I can be ready to grab any dish I want! Regardless, I had a delicious, filling lunch for $8.66. I'm not too needy, but I can see how having more than one person might make the whole experience a little less than amazing. The service isn't spectacular, but it just depends on your expectations, wants and needs. For me, I just wanted to go in, eat, and leave. I didn't want to be waited on or anything, so it was perfect for me. I can't wait to go back!

Fast, Cheap, Good. If you want GREAT traditional sushi, go to Katsura Japanese Restaurant at NE Chkalov Dr and Mill Plain behind Elmer's. They are awesome, but this is a review of Sushi Hana, check them out for happy hour, or just go there, it is good, it is inexpensive. I love them. When I want REALLY good sushi, I go to Katsura or Bara Sushi in PDX, but who wants to spend $$$$$$$$$$ when sometimes you're dressed like crap and just have a craving. GO Here.

I'm giving this restaurant a rare 5 stars based on super fresh and melt in your mouth fish.. at a price of $1/plate. Now if you read my reviews, you'll know that I NEVER do bargain sushi.. and don't mind paying 100 bucks for a great big awesome sushi meal for 2... Well, my buddy Paul H and I stopped in for lunch while at a meeting in the "couve', and we thought we'd suffer through conveyor belt sushi. Well.. we were very pleasantly surprised. Super fresh seafood... sushi chefs take orders... and they have some very creative nigiri, maki, and hand rolls... I'll be back. Again, and again. Here's a tip.. if you go for lunch, get there before noon, as the waiting list fills up fast.

  • Jason T.

Sushi on the down low.... Its quick, easy and not bad. While it is a rotating train of sushi, its generally well stocked. Noon and 5pm seem to be peek times and hard to readily find a seat. What prevents this from 4 stars let alone 5? Wait time for the servers, getting someones attention is hard. And over all upkeep/attention. Often you have to flag someone down to obtain a sauce dish and ordering can be difficult. But if you are having a sushi craving and want something decent, cheap and variety, this is your place. $1 a plate is hard to beat.

    (3)
  • Sara S.

Based on value and taste, this place is five star worthy. No, it's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's absolutely the best $1.00 sushi I'll ever have in my life. The maki is generously portioned with three or four pieces per plate. I have only been to the or for kaiten sushi restaurants, but this had the best variety I've seen. The place is packed, which makes me confident the sushi is fresher than other similar set-ups. Make sure you go for the catapillar roll, dragon roll, and the seared peppered tuna. I didn't try the calamari as it came out towards the end, but save room for it because it looks AMAZING. One of my best discoveries in Vancouver, WA to date.

  • Dustin R.

I have never been to a sushi place where your food passes by on a conveyor and you help yourself to what you want... and to be honest, I was wary about the quality of the food... but damn it was good. The sushi was fantastic... and for what is basically $1.25 per serving, you can't go wrong. If there is something you want that you don't see passing by, just ask, and they jump right on it... There isn't much in the way of table service (ie, soda refils) because you help yourself, but what the hell...

    (4)
  • Anka T.

So we went back... and yeah, they did increase their door entrance fee and their plate prices in the meantime, but at least the quality of the food got better, which is a good thing since you're expected to pay more. We'll surly go back when the sushi craving hits us again. The location is convenient too.

Went based on the high Yelp rating and reasonable prices. I've been out of the area for a few years for school. It's exciting to how many more options there are in Vancouver for sushi, Thai, Vietnamese, etc. than there used to be. However, Hana was pretty disappointing. The rolls were okay, especially ones with sauce, but none of the fish tasted that great. A lot of the plates didn't seem very fresh, which was odd since it was a Saturday night and they were plenty busy. There wasn't a lot of variety, and I think I saw almost as much imitation crab as fish. At least the plates are only $1.25 or thereabouts.

From what I understand Sushi World is Sushi Hana now, Yelp is not updated. (There are two, one by the Vancouver Mall as well) I'm not exactly sure what happened here, I moved away and lost track. In its glory Sushi World was the place where everyone went for good fresh sushi, yummy tea, and a bowl of miso soup after school/work. It was a very popular lunch location for local business people, and a great place to go on a casual date. The food was priced based on plate color, so as they turned around and around in front of you you could pick the plate based on taste, or with a more economic flair, depending on your motivation. I ate here so often that the people who worked here knew my mother and I by name and one woman so vividly remembered me that when I returned home after a year away in San Diego college she told me she was upset that I had not come in to visit her and wanted an update with what I'd been doing... I felt very at home here. Alas, all of this is in the past. Not only because I no longer live in Vancouver but Sushi World has changed entirely. They are more fancy inside with new expensive decor and sushi plate prices to match. The workers I loved are long gone, and so are the big yummy slices of fish. If you ordered salmon in the past you would get a very large sized slice of salmon. Now the salmon is cut so thin you can see the rice through it!!! I was HIGHLY disappointed. I believe what "did them in" was what had ultimately made them popular in the first place... DOLLAR PLATE NIGHT... I never went on that night because it was so packed and I like to be relaxed when I enjoy sushi. Unfortunately, it seemed that most people were opposite of me and ONLY went on dollar plate night. Thus, they could not keep up enough regular business to cover costs, and things had to change in order for them to stay open. Sushi World is not the same, but it was great while it lasted.

So we were driving through to McMinnville and decided to check this place out. What a gem!!! We decided to get takeout, and I think spent around $12.00 since it's happy hour I think every day all day. Wifey got two 4 piece rolls, and I got 3 4 piece rolls and we shared some gyoza. Great sushi and super cheap. The place was packed to the brim, so you knew it was gonna be good. We wanted to stop back in on the way back to Portland, but it just wasn't in the cards. If you're in the area and looking for some good sushi for very cheap, here's the spot!

  • Sara S.

I'm sure my experience at Sushi Hana would have been frustrating if my friend (who is fluent in Spanish) wasn't there translating my dietary needs to the cooks. They happily made vegan sushi for me and occasionally sent strawberries down the conveyor belt. They also whipped up a fried tofu plate that was nothing like I had ever tasted before- (in a good way). Our combined bill ended up being something right under $20, (merely because my friend kept grabbing random plates). I adore the cheap prices: $1-3 per plate depending on the particular dish. We arrived around an hour before close, therefore it wasn't too terribly crowded. The thing that really gets me is the peculiar-tasting water: possibly straight tap water? I'm not normally a water snob, but it was disgusting.

Sushi Hana is awesome. DOLLAR PLATES. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. At first I couldn't believe this, because really. a dollar?! Come onnnn. BUT IT'S TRUE EVERYONE! IT'S TRUE! And it's super awesome. After having been to Sushi Land just this weekend, Sushi Hana was definitely better. They had more variety and everything tasted sooooo delicious. The one thing I will say is that Sushi Land had better ginger. But Sushi Hana was slightly less expensive and they have desserts too. I am sold. Too bad I'm leaving the Portland/Vancouver area in 2 days... :( Oh! one downside, the waitresses are really focused on cleaning tables to keep the turnaround up so they don't really pay attention to you when you need refills and stuff. So prepare to be slightly thirsty! Also, I am in love with the conveyor belt system going on. I want one of those things installed in my house.

  • Jim W.

Place is awesome and cheap.....its not the best sushi in the world but its fresh , quick, and tasty. There is always a line when I come but worth it.

    (4)
  • N. Y.

Absolutely LOVE this place. The fish is fresh. They'll ALWAYS make your orders for sushi even if it's already on the conveyer. The employees are great! Miguel & Lah are helpful. MIguel makes the best seared salmon hand rolls. The only downside is the wait...but it is definitely worth it. I used to go to Sushi Land...but this Sushi Hana is so much better: cost less & definitely more fresh.

  • Wes S.

Not bad sushi, not bad price. Actually, dirty cheap as sushi goes, and the sushi is a little better than the price would lead you to believe. If you're new to sushi, good place to go. But if you like sushi or have eaten at more than two sushi restaurants, than I can't recommend this one. Low price, slow service, weak selection; but what they have can be tasty...

  • David R.

This is not the place to goto for epic sushi. This is the place to goto when you just want quick and cheap sushi. They are VERY cheap, in fact I couldnt believe my bill was so small. Service is really lacking, you have to pretty much yell at the servers if you want anything that's not on the sushi-go-round. Also, my wife is kind of miffed that they keep running out of sesame balls. We have been here three times and they only had them once. The place is usualy packed with people so be prepared to sit at the bar next to people you dont know. Get over it, make some new friends! Remember what you are getting here, quantity not quality. If you want a lot of cheap sushi this is your place. If you want epic sushi you are better off going to Nobu in New York City.

  • Brooke P.

Hell yeah dollar sushi! $1 to enter, and apparently it's $1.10 per plate (used to be $1 only). They have a lot of choices, but their strong suit is what I call "white sushi". Tons of spicy mayo, krab, and deep fried yummyness! YUM! Conveyor belt sushi makes for a quick and fun experience!

    (5)
  • Kevin K.

Their "limited time offer" has lasted for about a year and everything is about $1 except for beer and a $1 entrance fee. The food quality for some of the seafood isn't the greatest, but it's still well worth the price. There's tons of cooked items tend to be really cold on the belt as well. The service tends to be variable. Some of the waitresses are rude, while others are nice. Because of the affordability, the place tends to get crowded at peak dining times and service can be slow, which is expected. If they jack the prices up to be level with the other sushi joints in town, you're probably better off going there instead. Otherwise, this is a great cheap place to get a quick bite to eat.

I frequent the Portland/Vancouver area for work and stumbled on this place based on a yelp review. I've been there four or five times since and I love it. I'm narrowing my favorite plates down to the vegas roll, dynamite, roll, and seared salmon. Everything is fresh, cheap, and good. This is what I'm looking for when it comes to sushi. I don't want a $10/plate place. They recently upped their prices from $1/plate to $1.10/plate. I don't care. I'll be back.

    (4)
  • Cathy S.

We've been regulars and sent friends here, but today the tuna in the spicy tuna rolls (usually my favorite) we ordered was chewy and stringy, pretty gross. The Vegas rolls we ordered were great, as always, and other rolls were fine. I think it'll be awhile before we go back though.

    (2)
  • Ashley H.

Cheap sushi more than worth the price. They leave the rolls on the belt too long so you end up eating warm sushi and even when you order it fresh they still pick it off the belt. Go at 11am and its aces.

    (4)
  • Shelley B.

Food was really good. Waited awhile before something "new" came by. Watermelon or grapes was a nice touch. Music was maddening and LOUD!! My friend had to get my water refilled - nice service. Attitude towards customers was rude. $1 "ENTRANCE" fee - are you for real? LOL. Oh well - read the first line again.

  • Shane S.

If you want some good, cheap sushi hand-rolled by authentic Mexican people.....This is the place for you!!!! Haha, I'm definitely not the foremost authority on sushi, however, I know a great deal when I see one. Anything that comes by on the conveyor belt has one price: $1. Simple. Five plates and a glass of water and I'm outta there for six bucks and a tip (they tack on a $1 cover charge per person). My wife LOOOVES sushi so we go here. Because were poor. And have never been soiled with so-called "good" sushi. Aaaaah, ignorance is bliss.

Been here several times. Delicious, $1.10 a plate + $1 each person. Fresh! Friendly staff.

We LOVE this place! The rotating bar almost always has something for everyone and if it doesn't the staff is ready and willing to whip something up for you. We've taken people from out of town and friends who have never had sushi before and we've never been disappointed. The price is the best we found, also!

  • Sara H.

I used to love coming here when they first opened but now it is so crowded all the time, I wish they would get a bigger place. Everytime I go (unless it's like 3pm and even then sometimes) there is a 5-10 person wait or more and several times I've left and gone somewhere else because of the outragous line. This has kept me from going as much as I would like. However, the quality is good for conveyor belt sushi and how can you beat $1 a plate? I also personally enjoy the hip hop music:) The chefs have always been responsive to me even when the place is crowded and I get special orders in a timely manner. All in all this is a good place for cheap sushi and I would recommend this place to friends.

    (4)
  • Valerie F.

I love this place. Yes it's not the best quality but what can you expect for $1.10 plates?! Vegas rolls are to die for. Just got introduced to the volcano rolls which are great too! This place is ALWAYS packed so they must be doing something right. It always makes me skechy getting stuff off the conveyor belt so I usually ask for fresh (luckily most of the stuff I like is never on the conveyor). Only reason they aren't getting a 5 is the employees are always pretty rude.

    (4)
  • Foodie G.

The only things that makes their sushi good for me are the sauces and the price. I guess because of the price their quality is lower. There's always a wait and the place is kinda dirty. I'm sometimes afraid to eat their raw stuff. So I always end up having to order something and wait again. I normally wouldn't go back but I just LOVE their dynamite and volcano rolls. They're the only things I order.

I LOVE SUSHI HANA!!! Wonderful customer service! Don't go on weekends though! This place is packed to the door as soon as its lunch time starting Friday! The food is fresh, water cup is always full and they are happy to serve!! Very cheap $1 plates daily!!

    (5)
  • Ana M.

5 stars, because $1 plates! You can't get any better than that, especially if you are on a budget and still want to go out with the family!

    (5)
  • Ryan And Ivy H.

This place is cheap which makes it awesome. Go there with your date and offer to pay for her meal but tell her she has a five plate limit....she/he wont be offended. Be mindful of the $1 entrance fee per person if you are also mindful about the money you spend. I don`t think anybody ever orders the udon and I don`t think you should either. The place is usually packed so i would suggest going by yourself of with one other person, otherwise you might find yourself with a bit of a wait. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, with all of the attention focused on the conveyor belt which moves sushi along like a slow traffic jam on I-5. I would suggest ordering tuna hand rolls from the chefs which are delicious and also the same price as the regular sushi which is hard to find these days. If you like sushi and you are on a tight budget hit this place up for sure, you will only be semi disappointed but you`ll reconsider your initial reaction later.

  • Dana C.

Good place to eat if you like sushi and want to pick a variety as it goes by. Cannot beat the price 1.10 a plate, however they do charge 1.00 to get in, go figure. Refills on soda's are a dollar. Very busy place and usually a long wait, but good if you can get past the wait.

    (4)
  • Justin P.

This place is great, cheap, good quality, best in vancouver... vegas rolls the best!

    (5)
  • Andrew C.

The sushi won't knock you off your bar stool but the prices are well worth it. $9.90 later I'm wondering if I should have stopped sooner. I would come back.

    (4)
  • Warren K.

They ahve changed their menu a couple of times, removing some of the items I used to really love but overall it is still very good and inexpensive. If you like Sushi and don't want to spend a lot, this is a good place to go to.

    (4)
  • Mgizzle A.

Reminds me of Genki Sushi in Hawaii, including the mainland local turnout. Not bad for the price. Everything is $1.50 except for the Udon, which is $6. Love their salmon skin hand rolls. Has the standard sushi items and some roll variety. Place is kinda small and booth seating is limited. We like to go around 7:30-8 PM to avoid the crowds. Service is better when it isn't as busy.

    (4)
  • Fai C.

The quality is decent considering every plate is $1. In addition to the conveyor belt sushi, I like ordering hand rolls and other special rolls (still $1 per plate) and having it made fresh. The spicy tuna/salmon hand rolls are great!

    (4)
  • Zhi H.

Conveyor belt style sushi. I have been coming here since 2010 when they had the grand opening specials. All plates are $1.50 and $1 per person. Most affordable sushi around! The menu of sushi has been the same for years. For the price it is good sushi you can go by yourself or a group. Rice to fish ratio is decent. Besides water I like to get tea which is free but not the best tea. Service is great for a this type of restaurant. The waitresses are usually walking around and can easily wave one down. The sushi chefs make the sushi in the middle and are fast with the orders you want. Restaurant has looked the same for years and is pretty causal. There's a cute little sushi clock on the far wall. Overall it's a great sushi place to go to in Vancouver. Food 5/5 Atmosphere 3.5/5 Service 5/5 Experience 5/5

Sushi Hana offers conveyor belt sushi for a cheap price. If you're looking for high-quality cuts of sashimi or incredible rolls, then this is obviously not your place. Sushi Hana sells their sushi plates at 1.50. That's right, it doesn't matter what the roll is or what kind of fish they are using, the price is always 1.50 (with the exception of udon which is $6). Therefore, since each plate is so cheap, the quality isn't going to be that great. But for such a cheap price, this place is a-okay. There seems to be a lot of business here since there tends to be a wait quite often. Just write your name and the number of people in their little book. They'll call you up when they have seats for you. There is an entrance fee of $1 per person. Many of the rolls are just variations of California rolls with imitation crab. You can have a California roll with salmon on top, or a California roll with tuna roll. You get what I'm saying, it's basically different toppings on the same base roll. If there is a certain roll that you want, you can look at their menu and order the rolls you want by asking one of the sushi chefs in the center. I ordered a Caterpillar roll (eel roll with avocado on top) because it's typically one of my favorites. I was a bit disappointed because it came with teriyaki sauce on top rather than an unagi sauce. It made the roll taste very different. Furthermore, they had a California roll with shrimp on top smothered in sweet and sour sauce. The combination did not work for me at all. I did appreciate their seared salmon though. This was my favorite sushi during the meal. Despite it being such a cheap place, their cuts of salmon are pretty good for the price. It's not super high-quality sashimi, but it is pretty good for $1.50. Service doesn't really exist other than them seating you and giving you water at the start. Personally, I would give this place around 2 stars if I was really being nit-picky on taste, but because I know this place is such a cheap place, I would say the food is average in terms of low-quality foods. If you need a quick, cheap sushi fix, then this place will probably suffice. If you are a California roll lover, then you're in luck.

The food was room temperature. Most places with a conveyor have a system to keep track of when the food was made, they seem to be lacking any way to tell how old a given plate is. Would you eat room temp fish? The pricing is another issue. Sure paying $1.50 a plate may seem like a deal, but there is a serious lack of pride in their work. Why would you charge the same price for seaweed salad and a skilfully cut piece of salmon? I can only imagine that either the ingredients are cheap all the way around, or what should be considered finer food, was simply not prepared with quality, skill, and pride. Food aside, the building is a hole in the wall, tucked between an auto parts store and a nail salon. There doesn't seem to be a cohesive color scheme or any matching decor, just a sad fish tank and a waitress who should have been asking if I would like a drink instead of chatting with her boyfriend in the corner booth. Don't bother with this place. At best you'll get crappy food with lousy service. Worst case you'll spend the evening wondering which end of your writhing body, you should place over the toilet.

I went to Sushi Hana today with my mom and my cousin, and I had a bad experience ever. I saw they have eel on the menu and I want order a plate of eel, but I just say "can can I order an eel" to a Mexican guy. He laughed at me, and made a joke of me to his co-worker. I stared at him and he stops laughing. I don't understand why he laughs. Do I from another star?

Weak. Especially the Poki Tuna, no flavor. Salmon belly was good doe. Had like 4 of those. Nothing surprised me here. Felt like a sushi land all over again. I didn't get a glass of water! what the fuck... I was hungry.. starving in fact.. so I ate to fill my tummy. At the end of my 20 minute meal I still didn't get water. Oh well.

Pretty good for conveyer belt sushi. Favorites are ichi roll and the vegas roll. Go for happy hour when it's busy and the discounts are rollin

  • Paul S.

Wonderful selection of fresh fish, the salmon and tuna sashimi dishes were particularly tasty. For quality, value, and service, this place gets 5-stars in my book... though the wait times can be treacherous (probably due to the fact that too many people like this place so much) so ultimately a 4-star rating.

  • Andrew C.

We came here for the 1st time. I was not very impressed. The fish was at room temperature. I could not see a system at all of how they tell which plate needs to be pulled away Cuz it's too old. They had a plate of grapes going around that loomed like a day old. They were really wrinkley. I am nervous that I'm going to get sick later tonight. I hope not. Not sure if u would ever go back here again. Although I do need to say our service was really good. I did notice if you order special rolls your orders came quick and looked rather good.

This is one of those conveyer belt sushi places. I don't know if I would call it a, "hole in the wall sushi restaurant" but it's not fancy by any means. I've been to quite a few of these types of sushi restaurants and have +\- + good selection + seated immediately + ate immediately + very inexpensive + decent selection - there is a lot going around the conveyer belt. Not everything looked real fresh. Two layers of food, but I don't think it's necessary. We preferred to order from the sushi chef - not super clean - not authentic at all Overall, for cheap not authentic sushi... This is a great place. Be a little careful what you pick. The conveyer sushi is fun and this is no exception. I was very impressed my the rolls and quantity of food for the money paid. Dress- you could practically come in a bathing suit and be fine here. It is extremely casual. You will see some people in work attire. One thing I rely appreciated about this conveyer belt sushi restaurant is that they never pressured us to leave. These places get people in and out quickly, but I still was able up carry a nice conversation without being led out.

Prices have risen here, and it wasn't even good to begin with. Sushi is room temperature, and it's not fresh... I'm a sushi fanatic, I've had sushi everywhere, and this is probably one of the worst places I have tried. Originally when it was a dollar per plate, it made sense, but since prices have risen they still haven't gotten rid of the fact that you have to pay $1 or $1.50 (i'm not sure exactly what amount it was) just for sitting in the damn place. I shouldn't have to pay for something i'm not eating.

I love this place, go here all the time. The sushi is very high quality and delicious. Very nice staff here as well. There's a big selection of sushi to choose from if you want to order or just pick from the conveyor. The atmosphere here is friendly and it's always clean! Pricing here is also amazing, only $1.50 a plate... Of anything! This sushi bar located conveniently on mill plain so it's easy to get in and out if you're in a hurry. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Been there 6-7 times. The food is JUST ok. But the Server was terrible. That's ok. Because we just want to eat fast. Short lunch break. And give 15%to 20% tips every time. And the last time, we have 4 people, we find out they change us 15% tips with out telling us. We already put 15% on the table. We don't know. I don't want to go back. But just want to Warning people. They will double charge your tips.

Best sushi and prices around! I come here on my lunch breaks at least twice a week! Definitely a place to stop. Gets very busy sometimes though but all plates are $1.50 Can't beat that!

  • Eric H.

It's kind of silly that they have a entrance fee. The prices have been increasing the past couple years as well. I can understand charging an entrance fee when each plate is $1.. but if your plates are now like $1.65. The rolls are very americanized here (meaning lots of sauce and cream cheese). The salmon nigiri I had wasn't very fresh and it was kind of made haggardly. That being said, this place is still a better option than most the conveyor belt sushi's in the area. EDIT: Price was dropped back to $1.50. My visit was not bad at all.

Best sushi around!! Without a doubt my favorite sushi bar in the area. Or pretty much anywhere. :) always bustling and busy but ALWAYS has what I want and I never have to sit waiting for them to make me something. They are the nicest staff I've come across and I love coming here whether with a friend or by myself. I will always recommend this place when someone asks where to go. Glad this was my first place to ever try sushi because its the best place I've had to date. :)

This place is so good. The service is great and the food is even better. The place is very clean and well lit. The food is fresh all the time and served fast if ordered. The food is priced well and affordable for all.

Simple sushi track set up. Everything tasted great and excellent value! I will most certainly come here again next time I'm in Vancouver.

The plates are $1.50/plate. There is an entrance fee of $1.00/person which seems a little ridiculous. The customer service is okay. It can be better.

I've tried quite a few conveyor belt sushi places in the Portland area, and I've generally been underwhelmed with the limited selection and cost, but Sushi Hana was a very pleasant surprise. All their plates are $1.35 (though it is increasing soon), and they have more variety here than I've seen at any of the other conveyor belt restaurants. Many of the others put cream cheese in every single roll that isn't a plain old krab roll. Here I could choose from tempura, poke, spicy, squid, chicken katsu, volcano roll, and many others in addition to the usual california, salmon, tuna, and philly. And, unlike some other places, they actually have a big bowl of wasabi and ginger at the table as well as sriracha and spicy mayo. My only complaint was that I didn't notice there was a $1 entrance fee until it was time to pay. I've never had to pay an entrance fee, so not too happy about that. All in all tough, it was a pleasant experience, and I will be back.

I absolutely love sushi & this is my all time favorite sushi place! Love the dynamite rolls especially when they're warm. Price is good. Close to home. I'm there at least three times a month!

This place has gone down hill. The last few times I have been in, I have ordered and waited 20-30 minutes for my order. One of the last times, they gave my order to other people and never gave me what I asked for. I brought this to their attention and the chef insisted that he did. Quality is hit and miss. Rarely go here anymore, used to be my favorite.

  • Kristine B.

I give it three stars for the food but the service was horrible!!! The servers were in the back chit chatting. The sushi chefs were more helpful then our server was. Our drinks were left empty for about 10 minutes until I finally got one of the servers to come out and help us. We wanted to order some mochi before we left but couldn't find anyone so we finally just got up and waited for a server to finally give us our check. I'm also in the restaurant industry and i know how dinner gets but the fact is, it wasn't even busy and everyone was just standing around not doing anything.

This place used to be so great for a conveyer belt sushi place. I still come ever so often, but I used to come 2-3x per week. The quality of the food has decreased while the cost has increased. I have got sick after eating here before. Often the fish is too warm, the cooked foods will set out for more than half a day. Staff is not very friendly and not that attentive. I've noticed less people coming here too. It used to be a wait at anytime of the day you came in. Now, it's not as busy as it was. Be careful with kids, I worry about the quality and temps of the food. I'm curious why the health department hasn't fined them for this. Almost every time I eat here there is food that is at the wrong temperature on the conveyer belt. There are certain staff that I order from because they actually listen and prepare the correct item that I order. I highly recommend ordering and not picking from the conveyer belt.

  • Doug M.

I love this little hole in the wall sushi joint. It's not fine dining by any means but the prices are unbeatable and all you have to do is ask for something to be made fresh. It must be a crowd pleaser because every time I go in there is a small waiting line which goes pretty fast. They have upped their prices but not too bad and there is a $2 table fee added to your bill now. Room for improvement YES. They could definitely watch how long the food has been on the conveyer belt and take it off after too long. Also a few minor improvements to the interior like paint and lighting would go a long way to create a good atmosphere.

Sushi is warm and not worth eating. With all the extra charges for each person it ends up costing just as much as a great place. The older lady is constantly rude if you special order anything . Never Again!!

Not that clean. But very nicely priced for pretty good sushi. And they will make anything you want. Just ask!!!! Hand rolls are top notch.

Went here once by recommendation from a co worker. Worst customer service I've ever had. Took forever to seat me, get me a drink and pay even though it wasn't busy. Sushi was also not that good. Probably not going to give it another chance.

    (1)
  • F J.

No eel, because the eel was frozen. Got charged for a one dollar entrance fee. Quite absurd. But worry not, just make the entrance fee the tip and you are good to go. Pretty much all the sushi was variations of the California roll, some with shrimp inside some outside. Price was 1.5 per plate. You get what you paid for.

    (2)
  • John H.

Plates are now 1.50 each and have less pieces then than any other place in town. The avocado was brown, they didn't have edamame at all, the tempura was so cold it might as well of been refrigerated, the calamari was so tough it was hard to bite through, I avoided the baked mussels after I saw them go past a few times. I saw the lady making the sushi pull a couple of plates off the belt pull the salmon off rice sear it with a blow torch put it back on the same rice and put it back on the belt. With the exception of the Oregon roll everything was unbelievably bland. The bottle of beer was 6 which would be fine if it wasn't just the same old Sapporo. I had been a few times in the past but I'm not going back between the increase in price and the reduction in quality, safety and variety it is not worth returning.

I love this place it's awesome almost everyone here is nice but Joanne is really rude. Asking her for anything is like the worst thing for her. I wish I could just tip the servers and the sushi makers without getting her a cut. Today my brother asked her for a roll and when she brought it over he had his mouth full and was setting down his chop sticks and it was too long for her to wait with the other 8 ppl in the restaurant so she walked about and gave it to someone else. Worst customer service I have ever had and its consistent from her. I've decided I won't be tipping if she's working. Sorry to everyone else that has to work with her.

If you want sushi, are in a hurry are on a budget and don't care about authenticity or ambiance this is the place for you. Fast friendly service, very busy so I doubt the food is out long. The food tasted yummy. I see a lot of negative reviews based on appearances but no one has claims of food poisoning other than one individual who got it two hours later, but food poisoning takes closer to 8 hours to kick in. So I'll keep eating here!

Typical Sushi Hana, not to great, not to bad...simply mediocre sushi. A lot of crab salad roles. You get what you pay for

Omg do not eat here it is infested with fruit flies . I'm from Los Angeles so not sure if everyone is just ...ok with this out here ? Maybe it just happens in the summer ? I sat down and noticed right away the fruit flies all gathered on top of the soy sauce and I honestly wanted to leave but felt too awkward since I had just sat down . The sushi was OK and the workers were friendly prices were cheap but wow yeah never coming back again sorry

This is a good little sushi place my fiancé and I frequent. The sushi is good and a reasonable price with a wide variety of selections. I am a little more adventurous and I enjoy the salmon roe which I have to special order. Unfortunately I have the same problem every time I go: the food that is supposed to be warm is usually cold an it has been left on "the belt". If you ask someone to heat it for you they are happy to do it. But that is the reason I am not giving full stars... They need to watch food temps! That can be dangerous for foods like muscles and calamari! Also sometimes when you order these things they take a long time or are forgotten. I think this is the best place like this area though so we really do enjoy coming here :)

Delicious sushi!!! The staff is extremely nice and the manager was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean as well. All taste fresh. Great location and very spacious. Highly recommended!!!

  • Tien D.

The sushi here is decent. It doesn't taste the freshest, but hey....you get what you pay for. In terms of appearance, it doesn't look the cleanest either. The staff, the decor...the whole restaurant in general doesn't have a polished appearance. But in terms of sushi, I believe that the sushi is up to par with your average conveyer belt sushi place.

  • Krissy V.

Went her for a late lunch. Sat my self down and ordered a few items. The gentlemen brings my 2 order order out with an additional plate????? I am sitting here as a guest disputing with the older asian lady why this guy brought me an extra plate? Then i had to explain everything i ate? Wtf...? this is the weirdest and rudest experience I've ever received from a sushi place. On top of this, this place charges a fee for individuals just to enter and eat. Last time going here for sure!

  • Donnie R.

I had some doubts at first having to wait but the wait proved to be worth it. The sushi was fresh and no problem getting my tako favorite. Tell 'em what you wane and they will make it 21 plates and one iced tea $35. (not just myself 3 of us) At a regular sushi bar it woulda been $60 EACH I certanly wish there was a Sushi Hanna in Monterey

Some times your just looking for a quick bite that doesn't cost to much. It's fresh and delicious. I got in, sat down, grab a couple the first thing I saw. The sweet chili sashimi was the delight of the day for my self. Careful around lunch time during the week; there might be a line, but you can put your name down and the crowd is constantly moving so no worries there.

  • Windy S.

I used to come here religiously for the cheap $1 plates. As word caught on and the place became packed with High School kids, the quality went to downhill. The Sushi Chefs that had been there forever left and things were never the same. I haven't been back in a year or so. I really don't mind paying more for better sushi.

    (2)
  • Krisann G.

A-OK is the perfect way to describe this place. Not bad...but not great. I was a little ticked to begin with because when I asked the server for a refill she rolled her eyes at me and said it was another dollar. It was outrageous but I didn't let it ruin my lunch. The sushi was good. Pretty much the norm. The calamari was the best part and the only reason I'd ever return. Location was awkward but what can ya do?! During happy hour the prices are by far the cheapest around. I liked the fact that it was very open and easy to yell out orders and be heard.

I don't know why I keep coming back, but I do. After coming who knows how many times, i had to go to another Conveyor Belt style sushi place (the new Sushi Moto on 192nd) to realize how gross this place is. Aside from the sweating men making the sushi, each detail is worse and worse. The goal at Sushi Hana is to mass produce as many rolls of sushi as possible, resulting in the sushi circling around for hours because realistically, it is impossible for us to consume as much sushi as they're putting out. They will literally run out of room on the belt even after double stacking- so you think that's be a sign to stop making it!! I've had so many lukewarm rolls of sushi that it makes me wonder how long my roll has been making rounds. I have no idea how they pass health inspections, or how they haven't had reports of food poisoning. I just know I don't want to be the unlucky one who gets it, so I'll stay away from that while I can.

The Wife and I have been coming here for almost two years now. Last Saturday night was our last time. We have been noticing a steady decline here in the last few visits but the other night was just the last chopstick. The music has changed to this thumping hip hop kind of genre, the quality of the food has been going down, the service has degraded but it has been the lack of any real selection on the conveyor. Life is too short for bad service and bad selection. We'll stick to other places we like and just chalk up the good times here to fond memories.

I'm a fan of the other Sushi Hana, the one by the mall. I tried this one because it was near work. The food was tasty but I was sick for like 3 days. I will never go back to this place again.

My wife & I make it a point to have Sushi Hana every time we visit the Portland/Vancouver area . Great place to get good quality sushi on the cheap, though sadly their prices have steadily risen over the past couple of years (this last time, Aug 2014, prices sat at $1.50 a plate).

    (4)
  • Jen K.

Most restaurants are raising their prices for sushi, but this is the cheapest place I know! All plates only costing $1.35 I believe and a $1.00 entry fee per person. The sushi I've encounter here are fresh. The ones making the sushi are constantly making new ones because so many people take a lot of plates at a once, so I applaud to the guys that make the sushi. There is a huge variety of sushi, and if you don't see what you like on the conveyor belt, you can ask any of the guys making the sushi and they'll gladly take your order! The reason I'm giving only 4/5 stars is because of the STAFF. The food taste great, but needs better waitresses! I've been going to this is place well over 2 years now. Long time ago I remember the old waitresses how they were all friendly and kind. The new ladies working as waitresses are just terrible. Their faces look so sour when greeting customers. One of the new ladies couldn't even hear/spell my name correctly, and it's JEN. One time I had seen one of the new workers in the back just playing on her phone for 15 minutes! That is outrageous. I don't know where all the other waitresses were, but not including her, only 2 others were cleaning up, greeting customers, taking orders, etc. I really only have a problem with the waitresses. I only like one of them and they've been a waitress here for a really long time. The guys making the sushi, love the new workers, love all the guys. They always talk to each other and seem to have a great connection to one another.

  • Ang R.

Horrible service at the front and rude people behind the conveyer belt. If you don't like your job people, quit! Sushi is NOT fresh. This place should probably be checked by the health dept, there are some nasty things growing on counters, booths and near track. There is no way the sashimi is kept at an acceptable temperature. If you order something that's not already out, it won't get to you until your meal is done.

    (1)
  • David H.

Prices were fairly reasonable and selection was decent too. Website says all plates are $1.10, but they are actually $1.50 plus a $1 entry fee. Everything was fresh. It was a bit difficult to get the staff's attention each time we wanted to order items not on the conveyor. They were out of a few items on the menu also. I'd go back again.

    (3)
  • Kim R.

Dad & I pulled in to the strip mall parking lot on our way to one of the other stores and we thought we saw "All Plates $1.10" on the LED sign. Can that be? We did our other shopping and then decided to pop over to Sushi Hana and see. When we entered, at 4:30ish on Sunday, the place was full and there were a few others waiting. We put our name on the list and were pleased to get a corner spot. We tried a tasty fried potsticker plate, three different kinds of maki rolls, two plates of very tasty & hot (temperature) calamari, and two of my favorite Hokkigai (surf clam) nigiri. The Hokkigai were a special order that didn't appear on the belt. The chefs were very speedy and friendly about making something special. The only issue I had with my nigiri was that the rice didn't stay together well at all. I suppose that was due to the machine-formed rice clumps. Hokkigai for $1.10? It's five bucks where I live, so let the rice fall where it may. As an avid soda drinker, I was happily sipping away and finished my glass about halfway through the meal. When I asked for more, I was informed that they don't give free refills and that they'd bring me some water. Too bad they didn't give me the option of purchasing more before walking away, because I probably would have. We'll put this spot on our list of places to visit again next time we're in the area.

The good: they used to have 1$ any plate so it was worth it to eat there sometimes if you really felt like pigging out on sushi. It tastes good if you're looking for "fast food" sushi and not the real experience. This is like McSushalnds. But now that they raised the price to 1.35$ a plate or maybe even higher by now, I would rather go somewhere else and this is why -- The BAD: first of all if you're the germ freak, this place is not for you. The sanitary of the whole place is questionable. Floor is old and dirty looking, the plates, the buckets of bulk pre made stuff, the taste of their weird tea... Just whole place looks extremely cheap and not really clean. The service... Well there are some good guys and gals there but over all be prepared to spend lots of time waiting if you order. I never order. Just grab whatever's on the belt because if I order I will die from starvation by the time it gets to me, IF it gets to me. I've been forgotten before. But who cares not like you gatta tip :D If you do decide to order, don't expect the smile or even a word from the cooks. You will know your order went through when you hear them shouting it so listen closely. If you want some sauce be ready to "fish" for the cooks to catch their attention and finally ask for it. Don't get me wrong, during VERY slow times service is a lot better. And people there are good over all, just don't have high expectations. I used to go there at least couple to few times a week but now that prices are rising I'll take my business somewhere clean and more attentive. It's been fun sushi Hana. Sayo!

I am not the biggest Sushi fan, but have been to Sushi Hana with friends on numerous occasions and have been satisfied with the service . I do like the Spicy Tuna Rolls however. This place is very reasonable priced. It's always a hit for my other Sushi loving friends as well!

So delicious. Just right and inexpensive. Go around 2:30pm for easy seating and a huge selection.

The food itself gets 4 stars, but the entire experience gets a 3. The food is good, and the price is right. The fish seems to be fresh, and they've got a good variety crusin' on by, even during busy times. They'll seem to make anything you want, if it's not currently on the belt. I also like that you don't have to buy a drink to get the $1.25 plate prices, but you do have to pay "admission" - more on that later. The place is a bit strange though - it seems as if they could easily expand to seat more people (and cut down the wait time!) as there's a lot of empty space towards the front. It's also really weird that they charge a $1 entry fee - I've never seen a restaurant do that! They seem to be understaffed, and you can feel the stress of the waitstaff as they run on by you, trying to keep up with drink orders, bussing the tables, and seating new parties. I would never make a special trip out this way to eat here, but if you find yourself in the 'hood, want a cheap meal and don't mind some hustle and bustle, you might enjoy yourself.

Worst sushi I've ever had. This is bait on stale rice with watered down sweetened soy sauce. Do not eat this!

  • Suzy D.

Sushi Hana is great for inexpensive sushi, although over time the price has increased to $1.35 a plate and there is a $1 entrance fee. It's an average-sized restaurant with not the best service or sanitation, but the variety of sushi is plentiful and the nigiri is tasty. I would only recommend coming here if you live nearby and need a sushi fix; otherwise, I definitely suggest going to the nearby Migawon Korea House (a hidden gem) or another sushi joint within the city. At times it was difficult getting the attention of a server or chef, and they didn't seem all too friendly (my friend asked for mackerel once and the chef seemed shocked, despite clearly being on the menu). The sushi isn't that fresh and I'd only come here for cheap nigiri (salmon, surf clam, and tamago were really good).

    (3)
  • Tram H.

Worst sushi place ever. All they had were different combinations of imitation crab. If you like that then this your place. If you want real sushi go somewhere else.

  • kelly s.

In the grand scheme of conveyor sushi, these guys do it right. I think it should be a given at this point, that rolls are always going to be filled with fake crab and topped with sriracha mayo at conveyor sushi places... -So yes, in this regard, boo hiss.... However, if you use this as an opportunity to fill your salmon and tuna nigiri cravings at nearly half price of a "legitimate" sushi restaurant, and couple this with the fact that you can be stuffing your face with it no more than 45 seconds after walking in the door, what do you have to loose! Nicely done Sushi Hana, and it looks like your special request rolls were plenty formidable as well.

Sushi Hana is the best sushi place in the Northwest! We go there for lunch or dinner (or both) every time we come up to Vancouver. Yesterday's visit was as good as always! It was semi-busy when we got there for lunch, but there were 2 spots at the bar available for us. The ladies were right there ready to take our drink orders. We always order a poki tuna and poki salmon each, and the sushi guys are always super friendly to make it for us. Yesterday, we also ordered a couple seared salmons, which were delicious! Another one of my favorite rolls they make is the Vegas roll. One of our favorite aspects of the restaurant is the rotating sushi that goes round and round in front of us. This way, we're able to try new things each time we go!

if you must try this place ... dirt cheap .. do it before lunch time! that is about the only time you will get fresh sushi .. otherwise, the same plates remain on conveyor belt for hours. i tried this place last month at 11 AM , OK sushi .. reasonable prices. went there Monday late afternoon ... awful food, disgusting cold tempura and 2 hours later ... i paid the price for eating room temperature BAD raw fish. that explains the low prices these folks offer .. for garbage.

This has been one of my favorite sushi restaurant for years. Tonight I went in there to order to go and I noticed some new faces sitting there texting behind the bar as I ordered my sushi. The customer service is always phenomenal and I cannot say that it wasn't today. when I ordered my sushi I paid very close attention to them making it. When they started my roll and stuck it into the oven I saw the employee pick up a rag and start wiping down the counter. After he finished wiping down the counter he proceeded to walk over to the toaster oven with the same pair of gloves on pull out the rolls and pick it up with his hands. Needless to say I did not pay for or eat that sushi. My advice to you is to not get anything from the roundabout, and to watch very carefully when they are making your sushi.

  • Karly B.

Wish I could give it 2.5 stars. I'm no sushi connoisseur, but this seems like the fast food equivalent. Go here if you want sushi quick and cheap, not because you want awesome sushi. It's definitely inexpensive and has lots of variety. Overall decent considering the price. One thing I really didn't like was not knowing what plates were for sure or what was in the rolls.

    (3)
  • Ren B.

Um...if you have a party larger than two during peak hours, don't even try...go someplace else. We waited an hour. The only good thing is 1.25 per plate, but if you know good sushi it's anticlimactic after an hour wait. If I waited 5 minutes, the sushi would have been worth it, and the place would get 5 stars. After waiting an hour, i want Chef Morimoto himself to make my sushi, which he did not. The sushi was not worth an hour..BUT at least it was cheap.

Usually busy, but it's for a good reason. I have been to other Sushi Hana places around and this one is the best for cheap sushi. Great attentive service staff. The seared salmon is the best.

So, the gang and I couldn't decide on a place to eat for the first night I was up in Vancouver. I decided to trust the Internet (well, Yelp, really...) and saw that Sushi Hana was supposed to be pretty good. I have to admit, I was a little afraid. I mean, plates of sushi for $1.25..? There's gotta be something 'fishy' going on here... We got there at around 7:00p with a group of four, yet we were seated almost instantly. I guess we got lucky, compared to what other people have written, so yay for us. Also, our server was nice and we had water and refills very promptly. As far as eating, you can just grab plates right off the conveyor belt. Most regular rolls have four pieces or so per plate (California Roll), while the specialty rolls are about three per plate (Vegas Roll). There are also other things you can grab, such as two slices of tuna or octopus. The way things work is that the chefs tend to make a large amount of each roll at one point. Essentially, the conveyor belt will be empty for a little while, but and then filled with a roll of a certain type. The nice thing is that they prepare different rolls quite quickly. But, if you're a fan of variety, you might not enjoy Sushi Hana as much unless if you're prepared to wait a while. Luckily, you can just ask the chefs to prepare you something that isn't on the belt. That's probably the best bet to get a little taste of everything. I liked almost every single roll I had, even though I can't remember which ones I specifically had at this point... The Caterpillar Roll and the Dragon Roll were two of my favorites, though. Honestly, the quality isn't the highest I've ever tasted for sushi, but definitely a lot better than some of the places I've been to. After finishing about 20 plates, we decided to call it quits. One of the servers that had refilled our waters rang up our order, but the total was less than how much it should have been. When we let her know, she let us know that she lowered it because she liked us. Sweet! Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite sushi places I've been to, but it sounds like we might have just gotten lucky with the service. The entry fee is kinda silly, but it's so small anyways, hopefully it shouldn't bother anyone too much. Anyways, if you're craving some cheap sushi (in terms of money, not quality), Sushi Hana is a place you should visit!

My husband and I LOVE this sushi place. It is conveyor belt, which we both like, but you also have the option of making orders. It is cheap and they have an awesome variety of food in general. In fact, we had gone to a different place for sushi for lunch one day and were so disappointed (the guy kept putting out the SAME rolls over and over, everything else on their menu was expensive, too) that we actually left there and came here. Who cares if its not "authentic" enough or pretty enough. All I care about is enjoying my food. And I am very happy with their food!! The guys who make the sushi are super kind, and will make anything you want if you don't see it out, or fresh if you want it fresh. And it is cheap so you can eat loads without hurting your wallet. I also love their spicy mayo sauce. No place is perfect, but in the areas where you want perfection, I'd say they are reliable for good food in a short time and at a great price with pleasant service. You can keep the white tablecloths.

We have been to Sushi Hana a few times now, and while the music is annoying, the sushi is cheap and reasonably edible, but it is rarely a pleasure. The rolls are pretty loose, since the Hubz definitely does it better. A lot of Vancouver folks here seem to like it, and it has a "fast food sushi" quality to it that can be good, but we would much rather go down the road to Sushi Land and pay an extra 2 or 3 bucks for better sushi. The service here is decent, unless the place gets busy, but it's not any better than you get anywhere else, and even the special requests they do are nothing special. We had to debate between a 2 and a 3 star rating, but the fact is, we don't come here anymore, and we'd rather skip sushi than having it here. The place isn't awful, but the flavor is bland, the texture is mushy, the rolls are sloppy, and the service is barely decent. Would we skip it if friends really wanted to go here? No, but we'd try to get them to try somewhere else, first.

For cheap sushi anytime of the day, this is the place to go. They have a great variety and you can always request to have something made for you. I love the volcano roll, but since it needs to be heated it does take a little patience. Otherwise all plates are $1.25 and an extra dollar per person as an entrance/sitting charge. The only downfall to this place is that it is very limited on seating and this place gets packed quite often considering that a lot of people enjoy having cheap yummy sushi. Also it is a conveyer belt style setting, so I always get a little worried about how often it makes it around. On the plus side, since this place always have costumers, they seem to keep rotating the sushi out well.

Sushi Hana took over my favorite Sushi place in Vancouver; the prior moving over to 164th. When I return from 14 yrs in California I found the place was called Sushi Hana. Once they freshened up the place, it is great. The sushi belt is nearly always double stacked, so there is a serious abundance of choices. They maintain a good balance of sushi, rolls, fried items, and fruit; plenty for anyone's taste. The fish is always very fresh. I rate Sushi Bars based on their Octopus; this is 5 stars! Lunch, Afternoon, or Dinner, every time I come nearly every seat is taken. Sushi Hana has a loyal crowd of diners. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The Sushi Chefs are happy to take your request and make it for you quickly, while they are engaged in mass production of the staples for the belt. The muscles here are hot and delicious. The orders of Scallop have always been great! I've made my signature request of the Sushi Chef, a Salmon Skin and Octopus Hand Roll. He nailed it every time! Nearly every item is $1.50 each. There are exceptions, but they make sure to tell you as they take your request. I feel guilty when I leave; I've eaten so much and so fast! (It's embarrassing....) In 3 months, I have eaten here 20 times, having driven over from SE Portland. Sushi Hana keeps me coming back!!

This place is soooo good!! And so cheap! The only reason it only gets four stars is because I accidentally looked at the floor and it was filthy:/ otherwise this place is outstanding!!

Disgusting. I went in here the other night with a friend after hearing about this place and reading the decent reviews on Yelp. The Yelpers have definitely let me down on this one, this place is a sad excuse for sushi, let alone an eating establishment of any kind. This is a tiny little place housed in a shopping strip by Craft Warehouse and Spankys consignment, so I didn't expect a ridiculously swank restaurant, but this place was seriously run down and gross. To top it off the service was horrible. I understand that most cheap little sushi bars are lacking on table service, but we weren't even asked if we wanted anything to drink, the hostess simply pointed at the end of the bar and said something along the lines of "There's two seats there" then walked off. After we sat down at the carousel, I grabbed some Salmon Nigiri as it was passing by. The salmon was thinly cut, and by no means looked fresh, but I dove in. I've eaten sushi off a buffet in mainland MT; I've seen worse. My first piece was a disaster as the rice clump was not tightly packed and it all fell apart in the soy dish; the rest weren't much better. The little machine on the counter pumping out rice clumps wasn't doing it's job properly, and also revolted me in the same manner. It's the same reason I abstain from petting zoos. It's just not something I want to see. After our first plates we were wondering if anyone would ever even offer to bring us drinks. Not so. I flagged the hostess down and asked her if we could order something to drink and she gave me a blank stare and said something along the lines of "Oh, you want drinks....?" like we were imbeciles and should have gotten up and walked in he back to grab them ourselves if we wanted anything. The fish wasn't anything special, and it definitely made me nervous because it wasn't fresh in the least, there was something off in the color that made me sure they used cheap dyed salmon. I watched as they assembled the sushi from very thinly pre-cut pieces of fish layered in stackable trays from the fridge that had probably been there a few days too long. The worse part of this equation was that the workspace they were making the fish in was filthy. The counters looked like they needed scrubbed and probably didn't get a throurough cleaning every night, and there was rice shards and odds and ends all over the counters, that were never wiped down. The carousel track was filthy too, and housed pieces of rice in between the tracks. We watched as the sushi made laps around the track, eyeing each other in a way that dared the other one to give up first. To be honest there was barely any sushi going round, even for the 4 or 5 people working behind the counter, and none of it looked appetizing. After watching it make a few full laps we gave up and went to the counter to ask for our bill. We were both still hungry as we had barely eaten anything, but we were game for finishing dinner elseware, as neither one of us wanted to stay a minute longer. The sushi was cheap, only $1 a plate, but they also tacked on a $1 entry fee per person which I find ridiculous even if it is only $1. This place is horrendous. It's sad to say that it makes the crap Sushi Land down the street look good, and I'm pretty sure that place serves cat piss in their soy sauce cups to extend it. This place definitely needs to have a good ol' health inspection.

their belts had WAY too much food on it for the food to be fresh. It didn't look fresh and the menus and decor were pretty run down. I'd avoid.

Please arrive 1 1/2 hours BEFORE closing,(9PM) or suffer the wrath of the, "employees who dont give a fu**!" You will receive only what is left over on the sushi train, and it wont be so tastey. Sure, you can order up something special, if you can get the sushi chef's attention.

Cheap and convenient sushi. For $1.35 (plus tax) a plate, why not? It is what it is and it's good.

This Sushi Hana lives up to the previous experienced we had at the Sushi Hana in Tigard. YUM. This sushi place is cheap, and they are always refreshing the items on the belt. The wait staff are friendly, and quick. The entry fee is silly, however.

It is a cheap place to go for average sushi. I think most people who have gone here will agree that it is not the best sushi, but it is by no means poor quality. All plates at $1.20, it used to be only $1.10 and there is an entrance fee of $1.00 a person. My absolute favorite is the Vegas Roll! You usually have to request it, since it is a hot plate, but it is yummy! I could eat only that when I go..so delicious. Even though it is average quality, the food is fresh and you can usually get seated right away. It is a very popular place! They have what you would traditionally find at a sushi restaurant. If you are looking for a specialty item, you might have to look elsewhere. I think it is all delicious. This is definitely a place to stop for fast sushi with friendly service!

$1.35 a plate. $3 Sapporo. Sushi is better than I expected at those pricea but the place itself is kind of dumpy. Great place for a quick bite and a beer. Not comfortable or inviting in any way... Except for the girls, they were very nice.

This place is a party on... Well on rice. Seriously, a train rolling past with every car a different treat and they're so cute. I could eat a bucket of the pink ginger stuff and the green tea ice cream, OMG!!! Beware the WASABE, seriously.

Cheap, average quality sushi. Why 5 stars then? The calamari. Hands down the best calamari I've had at this price. It's perfectly cooked, greasy, deep fried, goodness. Yum.

So good & so affordable! What a rare treat to be able to go out to eat and leave full for about 6 dollars a person! YAY! We will be back!

Went there with my husband for lunch on Saturday. First impression walking in - hip hop music????? My husband said to the waitress - "hip hop music??? she just smiled and said that the radio was on. Place is filthy. At lunch most of the items on the conveyor belt had been there for a long time. Nearly every item had imitation crab in it. We used to go there years ago when it first opened. It was good then we won't be back no matter how cheap it is.
