Is this your idea of a sick joke, Fate? Seriously? On this, my last lunch hour in Downtown Vancouver after years of employment here you finally lead me to Oriental Fast Bowl? I hate you. Wait, no, come back... I love you... thank you. Better late then never right? Especially when it involves "Healthy Japanese Fast Food." But apparently I'm the last to know. The little shop located on Main Street was full of business folks waiting for dishes of Yakisoba, Rice Bowls, Tofu plates and Gyoza when I walked in. It smelled so good and I instantly got a good vibe from the brightly lit, simple decorated restaurant with practically the only noise being the 12 o'clock news on the TV in the corner. The dishes are beautiful presented on pretty plates, and nicely packaged up for to-go orders. Even after I did the 10 minute walk back to the office my myriad of chicken, veggies and rice looked thoughtfully arranged. How nice! And they get what so many other establishments in the area have failed to see. No matter how good your food might be, if it's floating / dripping in teriyaki sauce, it's not that appealing. Here it's just the right amount, resulting in a light and satisfying meal. Perfect lunch portions and a steal at $4.00 - $6.00 per entry. Even with a line I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. Looks like I'm going to have to find a reason to come back downtown (Gasp!) so I can grab lunch here again.

I had a yakadori chicken w/ white rice & veggies. Nothing out of this world, but pretty good, hot, fresh food. The sauce was a little sweet for me, but to be fair perhaps their other dishes would suit me better. I will give it another try, definitely. Service was polite & fast and the price was right.

Do not order the tofu. Before I became a vegetarian I would get the teriyaki chicken found it to be pretty average and a decent lunch. Nothing special, but the only teriyaki in that part of town.

Fun little lunch place. It's a quick little place. I go there every now and again for lunch. They serve primarily stir fried combinations of veggies, pork chicken, rice, tofu, with white or brown rice. The place always has a TV on, and it's kind of seedy looking. I like that, it reminds me of thousands of little mom and pop restaurants throughout Asia. I do wish they served beer, but I can't say I would get one every time, and since lots of people don't drink adult beverages with lunch, it might not be worth their while to have the license. The portions are more than generous, and they have 4 or 5 hot sauces there to adjust your dish as you see fit, I'll be back.

It is wjat it is. A great deal for lunch. They are quick and a good value. The food is good. It is my go to for lunch time bento downtown.

Food was average. Also, very poor customer service. Not cool to cuss and yell at a paying customer... even if it is in a different language.

I've passed this restaurant many times on my weekly walks to the downtown library and have always been tempted. Oriental food? Love it. Quick bite for lunch? Up my alley. I had the yakadori chicken. It wasn't over the top knock my socks off or anything, but at the six dollar price point it's a good value.

The food here is great and very cheap, the service is quick. Only reason not 5 star hardly any variation in the food, I recommend the Yakisoba or the Chicken Curry both great items! (Chicken Rice Bowl - 4.50$ ish great deal!)

Looking for something fast, spicy and cheap? The spicy pork teriyaki bowl is just the ticket. Enough zing to let you know that its spicy but it won't burn your taste buds off. Interesting side note: I have been getting take-out here since May and the portions are getting progressively bigger. Can't complain about that!

I live in the neighborhood and grab dinner here at least once a week. It is fast, inexpensive, and delicious. My favorite is the chicken fried rice. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean and presentable. I highly recommend it!

It's like every teriyaki place you have ever been, at least the good versions. Got that nice illustrated menu on the wall, 972 chicken choices, 13 beef choices and 1 vegetarian choice. 1987- the year that keeps on giving. I came in right after they opened for the day. I got one of the chicken choices with rice and cabbage. You can expect some MSG in any given dish but that's the nature of teriyaki. They had my food out right after I sat down, pointed out the table with silverware and condiments and left me to it. Nothing was outstanding. Nothing was less than adequate. In the end, it's just fast food y'know. Lunch, water and a buck in the jar cost me a little over 6 dollars. I'm bumping it up one from A-OK because I got my food bullet-fast, you get a lot of food for the money and it's probably the best "Oh, what the hell" choice I've made in years.

Finally... Great, standard teriyaki how I expect it to taste! Little place on main street. Not the most luxurious place... But that is OK! The food and price makes up for it!

We call this place Oriental Fast Bowel. Lunch special is a decent amount of food for $4.99 order that. If you are a chump, or a vegetarian order something else- and over pay. FYI the lunch special is always chicken teriyaki so never hope for otherwise. In general the food is laced with msg, the vegetables are limp, and you'll need to chug a gallon of water afterward because of the sodium content. But you don't buy $4.99 lunch specials from a place like this expecting anything different do you? Also no free refills on soda. .25, .50, or .75 cents according the the paper towel written on and taped to the soda machine. I always feel cheated when someone can't spare the .02 cents it would cost to refill my soda after I paid $7 for a spicy pork plate. All in all a solid shining example of cheap greasy mediocre Asian food. Friendly staff, reasonably clean, rock gut again food.

This place is a pretty damn good. The food is served quickly & always quite tasty. The portions are always decent, too. The lady seemed a bit mean at first, but now that I've been a few times she seems to be getting nicer!

Lots of food for not much cash. I really only get the rice noodle udon. Which is amazing. Eat here like 4 times a week.

This is a pretty decent place to get a bento style lunch at a reasonable price. They have the typical bento/teriyaki style of lunches including things like yakisoba and pot stickers and teriyaki dishes. None of it is super special, but all of it that I've tried has still been good and not too expensive.

We call it "The Bowl". Call in your order ahead and avoid the wait during the lunch rush. The chicken udon is loaded with noodles and they don't skimp on the chicken. Grab some extra napkins because your nose will be running from the heat. It's 4 stars for being tasty, hot, filling and inexpensive - plus you can grab some free dumb dumb lollipops from the basket up front and stick em in your purse for later. If you have small kids, you know what a lifesaver these little treats can be in a pinch.
