Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised - for the most part. My service was friendly and attentive, as well as quick, especially for the lunch hour. Food was very good and I was pleased to see they took my gluten free requests seriously, pointing out that fried onions that came with my order were breaded. The burger itself was delicious and seemed to be made with quality ingredients. My only complaint would be that the gluten free bun was very cold, likely because it was refrigerated. Even before biting into the burger it was clear that the bun was cold to the touch. Still, it didn't keep me from finishing and I imagine I'll return.

I used to come here all the time when I worked down the street. The food was always amazing. They had such a diverse menu that I actually ate here every day for a week without eating the same thing. Sadly this place changed ownership shortly after I started working elsewhere. I still try to eat here whenever I'm in the area but I've noticed a steady decline in their quality. The once thick, juicy hamburger patties have been replaced with cheap, thin, flavorless pieces of nothing. I was barely able to locate any of the sauces on the burger when before, the burger would be dripping with it. Even the sauce cup for the fries was only half full when they brought it out. Unfortunatley, it looks like my one time favorite lunch spot is now just a glorious memory.

The pluses: good shake and deep fried mushrooms, and onion rings. Friendly staff and everything was clean. The burgers unfortunately were very dry. The patty somehow was still pink but over cooked. I've heard good things so maybe this was just a off day.

    (2)
  • Aimee H.

Greasy, cold tasteless and overpriced. The burger was still way too pink inside and was mushy. I could have gotten a fast food chain burger waaaay better than this. $12.99 for onion rings and a cold burger. No thanks. I will definitely never be back.

  • Lisa H.

I don't know about this place anymore. Quality seems be going downhill. Kinda pricey for what you get. The extras they charge separately for.... sauce, cheese, bacon, water....is just dumb. There is better out there...

Yum! We were on our way to try Killer Burger over on 164th but we arrived to find them closed on Sunday. It was a happy accident though because Yelp sent us over to the Burger Bungalow. It did not disappoint! Other reviews say that the meat is local and organic which is awesome. I figure they would advertise that aspect more, but I didn't see a sign or notice anywhere in the store or on the menu about the beef being organic. I'll assume it is. They make all of their sauces in-house to boot. Mushroom Burger: their patties are charbroiled which makes all their burgers extra tasty. I love mushrooms and this burger was A+ Shut Yo' Mouth: They make you sign a waiver for the Shut Yo' Mouth. We both tasted the sauce before we ordered the full burger. Sure it's hot, but it wasn't any hotter than any habanero sauce we've tried in the past. Plus, with all the burger meat, bun, veggies...they take away some of the heat. Don't get me wrong, the burger is definitely potent, but if you like habanero hotness you'll dig the Shut Yo Mouth. Fried Mushrooms: spot on! Sweet Potato Fries: also spot on! Pro Tip: If the 50¢ charge for bottled water rubs you the wrong way you can always bring your own!

Really impressed with the quality of food here, always drive by and never stopped. The fry sauce is REALLY GOOD! My husband ordered a burger, I ordered Baja tacos. This will be one of my top 10 places to eat from now on.

Came just to check it out. Had the fritters. I absolutely loved them. I would rather have them over normal donuts. Absolutely coming back for the fish and chips that I hear are amazing.

  • Sarah R.

The cod fish and chips are so tasty as long as you're okay with a little grease! The clam chowder is also super yummy. A definite must try! Wait time can be a little long though.

First time here = Last time here. Burger flavor was good, but dry. Bun was hard. Not impressed.

This place is awesome. I love everything I've had there. The service is awesome and they're so friendly. The tables can be a lil dirty sometimes but when they're really busy. Take it as a good sign because everything else is beyond par.

Picking up the fish n chips for my son (cod) but they do have fantastic halibut! My son just prefers the cod. I just wish they had more then one size of drinks.

If you're prepared to wait 45 minutes for your order, then consider going there. We've been there twice. Their clam chowder, deep-fried mushrooms, and halibut fish n chips were good. The mushroom burger and veggie burger were both overcooked and dry. Not recommended. I gave it two stars because of the good food items I mentioned above. But the time from ordering our food to it being ready was ridiculously long. (1st time was 35 min). The 2nd time we were there: upon ordering, the cashier told me they were short-staffed and it would be 15 to 20 minutes for my order. I looked at my watch (because of our 1st experience), and know that it ended up taking 45 minutes !! I went to the cashier at minute 40 and politely asked for a refund if our order was not yet started. (I'd already watched disgruntled customers be rude to her about their wait time. Thot that was the best solution -just get a refund and move on as I'd also watched food coming out of the kitchen ever so slowly). She said it was being plated right then- and it still took them another 5 minutes to bring it out. These items are pretty simple: soup should be in a pot, mushrooms & fish n chips going into fryer, burgers should not be over done when that's the name of your restaurant. Buyer Beware.

  • Jenny N.

If you want a mediocre burger for $10, go here. The staff was friendly but the prices have increased and the quality has gone down. The patty on my burger was extremely thin, but on the bright side the sauce and fries were good. Unfortunately, it is not what it used to be.

My first trip to Burger Bungalow (last week) was euphoric. The deep fried pickles were unbelievably delicious and a huge portion for the price. The clam chowder was also delicious. My son had the shrimp platter, which was above average. My second trip (yesterday) was a nightmare. The girl at the counter clearly did not want to be there. She acted as if we were a huge inconvenience for her from the moment we walked in the door. She begrudgingly took our order, which took a very long time to be served. We did not receive our pickles, which was 90% of the reason we chose to go there for lunch. When we pointed this out, the girl snottily stated that was because we didn't order them. My boyfriend and I affirmed that we had, then I asked if we had been charged for them. She said we weren't charged for them, because we didn't order them. We tried, again, to explain that we had, to which she rudely said, "No. You didn't." My boyfriend pulled out his wallet to purchase them, but I said it was fine, we'd just eat the rest. He looked at his burger and immediately saw there were onions, which he requested TWICE to not have on the burger. Even the receipt clearly had the special request "NO onions". She rudely grabbed his basket and quickly returned. He asked if she had just removed the onions and gave him the same burger, which she admitted to. He has an extreme intolerance to onions and cannot eat them in any way without having a severe adverse reaction. He explained this to her, she rolled her eyes and removed the basket, only to bring it back with the now merely warm fries and stated that "the boss" said his burger was being made and he could eat the fries. Best deep fried pickles around, but horrible service one time has turned us off.

Used to be great , always 4 stars. Prices went up, quality went down. Bacon is thin and bland. Beef is dry, cheap quality meat. Old staff was better.

Wow I used to go here a couple years ago when I lived closer. It has completely changed! Immediately I noticed the decor was different and also the menu. They were missing. My favorite fungi burger the one with blue cheese... When I asked about it a woman working there she said "ummm that has been off the menu for over a year... It wasn't a popular item." *sassy as hell* ok so I chose to get just a mushroom burger and I asked if I could substitute the French fries in the combo for their fresh-made potato chips .... Evidently they don't do THAT any more either! Two burgers, an order of chips to share and two small drinks $25!!! Our food finally comes room temperature, greasy and pretty pitiful. I asked for some of their "Bungalow Sauce" she gave me ONE tiny container for two of us and when I asked for another she paused (contemplating if she was going to give me the sauce or not) "..... It will cost you 50 cents" at this point I there up my hands and said FORGET IT! They had me at shitty RUDE service .... Never again

This is our 2nd time eating here. First time was when they were open a mere 2 weeks. Food still great, they are much more organized now lol. Servers were very nice...we didnt even get asked to hurry...thought they closed at 9, actually closed at 8. We went 15 minutes over their closing time and they never said a word. Great ladies work here!!! We were there Saturday 3/28. Arrived at about 730. Love the burgers and the fries too!!! We will be back sooner this time!!

  • Maggi G.

Burger was dry. Completely unseasoned. Totally Blah. Food came out fast. Almost too fast like the burger and chicken for our sandwiches had been precooked. Server gave us Onion rings supposedly "hot from the fryer". They were tepid warm at best. No seasoning on them either. Served with mediocre ranch dressing and she had to hunt down a bottle of ketchup. Really no reason to eat here a second time.

I came in to order fish and chips. I ordered two fish and chips. I noticed the prices are high. I was not already optimistic The girl behind the counter brought us lovely fish tacos. We explained that we did not order the fish tacos and they at first tried to charge us the difference but then just brought out our correct order at no extra charge. A decent amount of food but still over priced for what it is. I believe they have a one refill rule for their soda which is ridiculous. They have tiny plastic cups. I probably will not come back to this place again but if I am in the area and that is the only thing open I will dine there again.

  • Morgan G.

I've been here multiple times, and think the food is great. A little bit expensive but good. After coming in today I probably won't come back. I ordered a $4 dollar milkshake and asked her to split it into two cups and she looked at me like I was the most difficult person on the planet. "There is no button for an extra cup". We then get our milkshake, I'm expecting a shake with an extra container.. Nope. It came in a 12 oz cup. For sure won't be back.

  • Moriah T.

Not sure what happened to this place it used to be really good. The burgers are cold and undercooked and full of grease! They dont serve beer anymore and the service is not as good. I think there are new owners. So prob wont be back again...to bad because it used to be an amazing burger place!!

    (1)
  • Krista V.

I thought the burger was delicious! Not greasy and just right! Tried fried pickles too and again they were very tasty!

    (5)
  • Will K.

Danell, your kind of missing the point, you don't have to compete with the big chains. Since you don't have to mass produce, add some flavor to your beef; ie. chili powder, sugar, paprika, garlic, onion powder, tumric, salt, Worcestershire sauce, some bread crumbs, ect. Burgers are easy, even easier to make stand out. There really is no excuse for a bland patty, even if it is organic. Look at your reviews! Now imagine getting review after review about amazing burgers! Don't settle for mixed reviews! Then charge 8-9 dollars for a burger with fries included so that when people look you up online they know what they are going to spend on their meal instead of being nickel and dimed out of an extra 5-6 bucks. Finally I know you have plumbing, serve ice tap water for FREE and save money on gas for those cosco trips..

  • Patricia P.

We just moved into the neighborhood and thought we would try this burger spot!!! Awesome food and good service!! We will definitely be back!!

    (5)
  • Sue M.

Very good food, the organic beef makes a huge difference in the taste. But the fact that you have to pay for each and every item they put on their burger, is absolutely ridiculous. You want lettuce? They charge you additional. You want pickles? They charge you for it. A few pieces of jalapeno pepper? You are charged for it. They charge a dollar for one slice of cheese! That's about a 250% markup on their brick of Tillamook cheese!!! So basically their $4.99 hamburger basket will cost you $11.00 (or more) after the add-ons. That's no bargain, and I rarely see anyone there anymore.

  • Megan P.

Love this place. It's on the way home from work so I'll often call for take out when I don't want to cook. Their clam chowder is amazing, as are their burgers. The bungalow sauce is a must with the fries, in fact, all the fried treats are great.

    (5)
  • Ryan M.

Great burgers better fries and really well priced. I liked it better than killer burger personally.

After hearing and reading great reviews, I decided to try Burger Bungalow. My husband and I went there for lunch on 5/18/15 and it was busy, which meant that people must enjoy the food. We ordered two bacon burgers with fries. The fries and fry sauce were excellent. The burger was just o.k. The meat was very dry, a bit burned and not seasoned. I ended up removing the meat from my burger and eating a bacon sandwich. With paying almost $25 for two lunches, I really expected an incredible burger.

    (2)
  • Juliet V.

The burgers here are okay. Maybe a tad bit expensive. I'm not sure why this bothers me but I'm just not crazy about the paper cartons that the burgers come served in., Along with the fries. Their variety of fried foods are good. There are many to choose from at this place. My only real beef at Burger Bungalow is the fact that they will NOT provide any drinking water. Instead, your forced to buy their bottled water. Also, any extra items you request are extra charge.

A couple months back, the owners revised the challenge and added ghost pepper powder to the burger. While it may not pack the same lethal punch like a couple of other burgers I've tried, this Shut Yo' Mouth burger brings some serious heat for anyone who desires something extremely spicy. When I returned for this burger in early August, my taste buds probably also got jolted more than normal because I had just recovered from stomach flu, rendering me to a largely non-spicy diet. But even had I not suffered that physical setback, this burger probably would still do damage to my insides. Oh, did I mention the burger can also come with a nice helping of fries? Yeah, throw that Shut Yo' Mouth sauce on there as well. Means more ghost pepper goodness! No skimping of heat on this meal whatsoever. I honestly enjoyed the fries a bit more than the burger. While the fry cooking is fairly straightforward, they do it right with a crispy outside and soft inside. Nothing burnt or even overly golden brown. The burger itself is decent. I think this time, I started to realize that perhaps the patty was getting too small for the hearty bun, throwing off the ratio just a tad. It's a 1/3-pound patty, so if I ever learn to just settle for something non-spicy, I'll remember to find a double patty option with bacon (make my own creation, perhaps?). Maybe Burger Bungalow can also follow the lead of other burger joints and add a peanut butter burger option to the permanent menu. And add bacon. I'm a sucker for something like that. Burger Bungalow expanded their menu since my last visit, adding an award-winning clam chowder and several BBQ items. There's a small menu board containing a few deep-fried menu items. Too bad I didn't see something like deep-fried Twinkies on there...something like that would really reel me back a few more times. Panda got a serious sweet tooth these days! I took more notes down when rating this spicy burger basket. Initially, I tried to do a video, but nixed the idea when I played it back and didn't like how it turned out. I really focused on three areas, all on a scale of 0-10: Execution (7/10): Very good. Pepperjack cheese melted well. Enough peppers to remind someone it'll be very spicy. Just concerned that the overwhelming heat now will prevent people from enjoying this more than they should. Bun seemed a bit large for the patty and other burger toppings, certainly would enjoy it more with added meat. Can't say enough great things about the fries, just perfect for me. Fries alone scored a couple extra points here. Taste (5/10): The burger was really one-dimensional on flavor, basically getting a ton of pepper blast in your cheeseburger and not much else. No mistaking that smoky ghost pepper. However, adding their Bungalow sauce would probably tack on an additional couple of points, so do yourself a favor and add that sauce to your burger and your fries. Oh, and one would be even wiser to add bacon to anything. More mental notes for next time! Spice (8.5/10): Even I was sweating bullets by the time I got halfway through. While the fries will make any challenge attempt easier than chips, I'll probably be smart for a change and spare my stomach the extra agony. No hiccups, a good sign that my heat tolerance wasn't maxed out. Accordingly, it won't attain the highest of marks, but it's still up there. Don't eat this on an empty stomach, or your capsaicin cramps will really sting. EDIT: I re-uploaded my original video of the old Shut Yo' Mouth challenge (before ghost pepper powder got added): youtube.com/watch?v=lAkV… My friend loved his regular, non-spicy burger and appreciated that I introduced him to a new burger place in his neck of the woods. We'll certainly be back for the chowder and much more.

The owner DEAN, was so accommodating & really went above & beyond to make us feel welcomed in his burger joint! My burger had excellent flavor! In fact one of the best burgers I have ever had! We went back the very next day it was that good!!!

Good Juicy burger (cheesey cheese) lots of fries giving it 4 stars because there is no senior discount and they are being chintzy with the soda, 1 small size, 1 refill really?

Deep fried heaven! I had the halibut fish and chips, and they were honestly the best I've had in years! The fries are beer battered and golden brown fried slivers of bliss. You must come and harden your arteries at least once, but it probably won't just be once!

My 1st tiime here. Didn't even get a burger. Went for the Clam Chowder (sign said 4 time winner) and the Baja (fish) tacos. Chowder was 3.50 for 8 ounces..would've made a small meal alone. It was good, a bit sweet, but good. Obvious bacon which was yummy. Maybe a bit of Dill weed would've made it even better ! Baja tacos were a great deal at 5 bucks for two of 'em. Yummy, nice slaw sauce. I happened to be there when 2 ladies got up to return their burger orders (out of dis-satisfaction) and wanted their money back. It was somewhat of a scene..resulting in at least one walk in turning around and walking right back out. Mgmt refused to refund them. Sounded like they ate at least half the order before complaining. I don't know...it was uncomfortable to sit , eat and watch/listen to it..but I guess that stuff happens ? Now I'm curious about the burgers, or should I even try them ?!

There isn't much in Vancouver, so when our lunch crew found this place it was as if we found heaven. Fried jalapeños, pickles, beer battered fries and a whole slew of burgers with special toppings. The fish tacos were to die for too. Unfortunately we will probably not be going back. The service at the front counter has been grouch laden as when my my friend was told he couldn't have his tacos without pico de gallo because it disrupts the flavor profile. Come on, they're tacos man! Call me picky, but we'll find somewhere else where you don't have to pay for water and only get one refill for soda. So synopsis: decent food, spender than it deserves, and you don't get to choose what's on your tacos.

This will be the third Tuesday in a row I have had dinner here and it has been a well above average experience each time. First was the chowder. Then then the Philly Cheese Steak, and now the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Three of the meals I'm most critical of, and all have been great. I'm looking forward to the mechanical Bull Burger next week. Great Job guys.

If you like an incredibly spicy burger that has a bit of burn but also has amazing flavor. You should try their "shut yo mouth" burger. Amazing heat without losing out on flavor. A definite new favorite! Their fries and bungalow fry sauce also amazing.

Really enjoyed the food, fish tacos were awesome. My beef is the customer service of this establishment. After asking to add bacon to a kids burger the young lady rudely said no exceptions or take it off another burger. Rolled her eyes acted like we were lucky were lucky to have the opportunity just to eat there. Sadly we left our number with the employee to make a simple suggestion, never heard a thing and imagine she just tossed it away after turning the corner. Sadly I'll take my business somewhere else than watch an employee pull a power trip on me. Bummer cause the fish tacos and mushrooms were great.

Have lived in this area for years, finally went to the Burger Bungalow for a burger, ordered a cheese burger with fries with a water. First of all they do not serve water, it is a .50 cent charge. Secondly was sick for two days with GI upset and diarrhea. Won't be going back.

Had not been in a while and stopped in the other day. I ordered the grilled chicken burger and the chicken slice that was on there was the width of half size chicken breast and thinner than the slices of tomato on the burger. The chicken didn't even fit half the size of the bun. When I said something when the gal asked how our food was, I got no response. Would of been nice to get a little more chicken on the burger to at least taste it. Very disappointed. Will not go back and definitely will stop recommending to friends.

SE corner of NE 28th St & NE 112th Ave. I'm glad that I decided to hold out on this review because my suspicions turned out to be correct. While I wasn't completely impressed with my first visit last year I still believed that this place could do better and I was right as I thoroughly enjoyed my most recent visit. On this visit I had their "Mechanical Bull Burger": yelp.com/biz_photos/burg… I loved this burger from first bite, through every small bite in between, to the very last bite...sad face! Their burgers are LARGE. The burger itself was nicely seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor and the other ingredients were magnificent. The homemade Root Beer BBQ Sauce is a bit on the sweeter side, so if you're not a huge fan of sweet like I am then you may want to try a little the first time to determine whether you want the regular amount or less...or maybe you'll just love it and want more. The homemade Onion Straws were extremely crunchy as was the delicious quality bacon strips. The bun was fluffy soft yet had enough integrity to hold all ingredients in like a professional Body Builder. This burger was dreamy and I'd have no problem recommending it. I'm hoping they made an improvement on their "Flatline Burger" so that it has more flavor. The Sweet Potato Fries were great as well. They were hot, crispy on the outside, and warm and moist on the inside just the way they should be. Inside seating comes in the form of plastic booths while there are a couple of regular tables outside for al fresca style dining. Not much in the decor department so don't expect that. The whole place is kept extremely clean The whole staff is extremely kind and helpful. There is plenty of parking in this Strip Mall lot.

Questionable place. I ordered the chowder, it came out promptly with a bit of a burned taste, but was otherwise alright. Before ordering, the owner of the place found it necessary to detail every item on the menu before we ordered even after I told him we'd been in before awhile ago. My husband ordered a burger and fries, charged separately, and when we asked for a small side of sauce after getting our food, that was charged separately as well. Seems like the new owners are more concerned with profit than customer service.

I got off work early yesterday, and knew exactly what I wanted for my lunch: Burger Bungalow. The special burger when I arrived was a Cheddar Lava burger. Sounded good to me. Ordered that, in a basket, along with the garlic parmesan bread bites. $15+change, but completely worth it. The bread bites appear to be lightly battered and deep fried. They were solid, but I have to admit I didn't get quite the garlic and parmesan flavors I was hoping for. The server recommended next time ordering the chowder to go with them, so I'll keep that in mind. The burger, when it arrived, was totally not what I expected, but was still very good. The burger was enveloped in cheddar cheese, about a 1-1/2" ring of carmelized cheddar surrounding it, more cheese sauce I think, and Bungalow sauce, plus lettuce. This was a very good burger, and I can't wait to find out what other special burgers they'll have in the future.

The Burger Bungalow has been open for one week and two days as of this writing. Why did it take us so long to come here? That's nine days of missed opportunity! I didn't walk in here thinking I would be taken aback by a hamburger and giving it five stars, but darned if that's not what I am doing. Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself, this is how we wound up here. The Wife and the Tax Deduction and I were all getting over and coming down with a bug, none of us wanted to cook and we didn't want to go very far. We contemplated the usual but Sweet Tomatoes is too much work what with all the getting up and down, so we opting to try the new place in the neighborhood. When we walked in tears welled up, it occupies the same space as our beloved, departed Wingman and the decor is unchanged. But that is okay, it was familiar to us and therefore comforting. The menu featured eight signature burgers, most of which sounded very appealing (I don't do spicy hot so a couple that you may like didn't appeal to me). I decided on the Flat Line Burger with ham, bacon, egg, swiss and cheddar cheeses sitting on a 1/3 lb patty and a beautiful bun (more on that in a minute). The Wife went for the Guacamole Burger and the Tax Deduction went for mini corn dogs and fries (he's a rebel). The service was top notch, friendly and not at all fake or over the top. The owners came out to talk to us and explained how everything is northwest local and the beef is even local from Washington State. They try and source everything from as near by as possible. They both have a background in burger joints and it shows. What sets this place apart from the usual burger place and places high on the mountain along side Stanich's and well above McMenamin's? Partially because of the care the owners take in crafting an unusual burger, partially because the burger is just huge and every bit as delicious as it is large. But I keep thinking back to the buns they use. It really added flavor to the burger, character if you will. This is one heck of a great reason to come to The Couv if you really care about a good burger.

This place has super good burgers, I loved my Burger the bleu fungi is what it is called I think, it was perfect and I had them add thick cut pepper Bacon. So yummy! My husband did their flame Burger challenge and COMPLETED it, his pic is on the wall of flame: -) he eats hotter then what they have on the Burger, ghost pepper salsa he is crazy lol: -)

one of the best burgers i've tasted in Vancouver. Family owned shop that cares about their food and customers. 4 stars not 5 because it doesn't have the nostalgia feel i like in a burger joint, but the food tastes great and owners are very nice.

If you are gansta get yourself a "shut your mouth burger"...forewarned is forearmed you have to sign a waiver to eat it, no shit! I think they have the best burger in the Couv. They aren't open Sundays which always pisses me off, but whatever.

I'm so glad that I can now just order a burger! I had the O'ahu burger with a veggie patty. Yummo. I called in my order to take out, it was ready in about 10 minutes, and still warm when I ate it. They seemed pretty busy, but the service was very prompt. Now, if only I could just get a side of fries, no drink... I'll be back!

Been by this place many times on my way to and from work. Finally decided to stop in on a Friday night. My first impression was that the place stunk. Quite literally as Burger Bungalow also serves fish as well as burgers. That malt vinegar drentched deep fried fish smell present in most restaurants known for fish and chips and similar fare has never appealed to me. Fishy smell aside, Burger Bungalow has an atmosphere that one would expect out of a family owned sit down burger joint. No frills are presented here. Just order from the friendly lady at the counter, watch the tv while you wait for your food; before you know it, the food is delivered to you in a spartan white cardboard holder. I came to Burger Bungalow with two other people and we each ordered a burger. The burger I ordered, which was the special for the month, was nothing short of mediocre. I wasn't blown away, but it hit the spot as any burger does. The real standout was the deep-fried dill pickle chips and mushrooms. They were absolutely delicious! We got one order of each to split between the three of us and the portions were very big. All three of us are heavy eaters and we still wound up bringing some home. Overall I was pleased with Burger Bungalow. Should you get a craving for an amazing burger, I might look elsewhere. However, if I'm ever in the mood for some heart stopping, perfectly golden, deep fried goodness, this place will be on my list.

Yummy yummy goodness. I was up in the 'Couv for work and I was too hungry to wait to eat in Beaverton. I walked in and the menu was overwhelming. So many choices, so little time. Honestly, I wish they had slider versions of their burgers so I could have a taste of more than one. Finally, after plenty of hemming and hawing, I decided on the Guacamole Burger with sweet cajun fries (and bungalow sauce, of course). The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy and the flavors were awesome. The sweet cajun fries were something I've never even heard of. Even when I lived in Louisiana they never had this option anywhere. They mix the fries in cajun seasonings AND brown sugar. Sweet and spicy. Best of both worlds. I enjoyed the bungalow sauce. Just know that the sauce is mustard-based. I'd recommend trying it before ordering a burger that uses it as a sauce. The food takes a minute to come out, but it's well worth it. I like visiting small businesses, so I'll be back for lunch whenever I'm up that way for work.

Today was my first time at burger bungalow. Great food great price friendly service! I had the jumbo Shrimp and Chips Shrimp was perfectly cooked, Crunchy on the outside moist and juicy on the inside. The tails were perfectly crisp and eatable when done correctly like they were here they are the freshest most scrumptious shrimp chips ever! They even had malt vinegar and yummy fry sauce. I would definitely go back, and try one of their burgers and other fried goodies their onion rings look Fabulous! The only thing I didn't like was the electronic big screen electronic menu I was relieved they had some paper menus because the electronic menu. It's hard to read and the glare is bad and while your squinting to figure out what you want, it resets on you in the middle of you reading it and you have to wait for it to reload. If you don't see he paper menus right off the bat don't be shy to ask for one it makes a big difference in my opinion.

I very rarely Crave a burger and when I do... this place satisfies that craving!!! The bread they use for a bun is so good and the burger is messy in a good way. They have a really good variety of burgers and the french fries are delicious as well. Very reasonable price By far one of the best burgers in Vancouver!

This has to be among one of the BEST places in the entire Portland / Vancouver metro area for a hamburger. I'm a huge fan of Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Burger Bungalow puts them to shame! They have a special burger of the month that combines flavors you'd never expect. All of their beef is 100 organic and hormone free from Oregon. So it's local and safe meat! They also have hormone free chicken breasts if burgers aren't your thing. They also have cajun fries! I highly recommend those along with their special Bungalow sauce for dipping! This is definitely a place for Gourmet Burgers. Each menu item is unique and won't be copied anywhere else. They also have a "Wall of Flame" that houses pictures of people who successfully complete their "Shut Yo Mouth burger." A burger made with Habaneros and is so hot, I've seen people run outside crying. Fun stuff! I'm too scared to try it myself. TIP: Their portions are huge! If you want to save your waistline, ask for the kids size burger of any menu item and they'll do it.

Whoever invented fry sauce should win a Nobel Peace prize. This place opened up within the last month or so and I've finally gotten around to trying it. Given the awesomeness of this place I wonder why it took me a whole month. I've been here for lunch twice now and have decided that this is definitely one of the best burger joints in Vancouver. The burgers, fries and chips are made to order and are absolutely the bomb. The burgers are fresh, juicy and beyond huge, and offer an array of unique toppings. Hells yes to Pineapple. The fries are great and never overly greasy and the homeade chips are almost better; hot, and prefectly crunchy. All burgers are served with your choice of fries or chips, plus a pickle spear and a huge side of fry sauce, which is like a little cup of deliciousness to make you smile. While it does take a few minutes longer than places like Five Guys, where they are fully staffed and constantly cranking food out, it's well worth the extra few minutes. Whenever I've been here the place has been pretty empty, but then again, it's brand new and in a spot that's easy to miss. Hopefully they do well with word of mouth business, I'd like to see this place stay.

I really enjoy this local burger place. The mechanical bull burger and the shrimp basket are our favorites! My only critique is that the staff has been aggressive regarding their closing time the last few times I've phoned in an order. The restaurant closes at 7:00 and I've called in orders at 6:00/6:15 and been sternly informed that they close at 7:00 so I needed to be there well before then. It very much felt like I was inconveniencing them by ordering food within an hour of closing. Other than that, I am a fan!

I wasjust at Burger Bungalow with my 3 yr. old. My son drank his juice and still wanted some water. I asked for some and they said it was fifty cents. I was a bit suprised they did not offer free water to paying patrons. I reluctantly pulled out my debit card, and than they informed me that they dont take charges under 4.00? I informed them that was a little weird. Basically my son and I had to leave with our food because they could not pour us a cup of water. The CHEAPEST restaurant I have EVER BEEN TO! STILL CANT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED. SORRY 3 YR OLD BUT DADDY DOESNT HAVE CASH SO YOU GUYS GO THIRSTY? THAT WAS GREAT EXPLAINING THAT TO HIM TOO... THANKS FOR NOTHING! RUDE AND NOT THE GUEST SERVICE I WOULD BE PROUD OF!!!

I haven't been to Burger Bungalow in a few months, but the last time I went, it was truly the best burger in Vancouver. I tell everyone who even mentions burgers to go here. The simple menu is great. Just a small list of things done right. The few times I've gone I've had the burger with the cheese inside but I think I've had at least a taste of every other burger and they've always been phenomenal every time I've had them. The fries have always been good to. I think it's hilarious that people complain about the low quality ketchup. I can totally respect their feelings, but I would go for the sauce every time. I'm serious about these things too. I do not take cheeseburgers lightly. I remember, in detail, a burger I had fifteen years ago in Minneapolis simply because it was the first time I had smoked cheese on a burger. And I don't know how everyone complains about the price. If you want a McDonald's burger, you can't be too far away from one. With fries and a coke, I expect to pay about eight dollars for a burger, and that's just to start. Shit, I pay more money at Burgerville for burgers that are one-quarter the size of the ones they serve at BB. But if you can't taste the fresh beef over the typical, fast food tofu patty, then that's your prerogative. The only reason this review gets a star off is because of the owner's response to Luckey S. on the front page. I don't care if Luckey is telling the truth, lying or is just plain crazy, owners that threaten yelp reviewers with lawsuits make me think twice about patronizing an establishment.

Burgers are alright but the cost doesn't justify the quality. The fries are the most tasteless ones I've ever had. Go to killer burger.

The food isn't spectacular, but as far as a burger joint goes, this is pretty good. The meat is from organically raised beef. You get a choice of fries or fried potato chips fried on the site. The drink is included. Get the Bungalow Sauce, it goes great with either the fries or the burger. They also have a fairly extensive kids menu too. Fairly basic dining area, with two TV's

Don't let the strip mall fool you! The best burger I've had in a long time. The one I had, had a heart attack type of name. It had ham, bacon, cheese, egg and a great bun. I do wonder how long I can keep eating these. They have fries or chips, both homemade from yukon gold potatoes. If you can't decide, they will half/half them. Fry sauce is tasty too. Someones review mentioned about being too much food and ordering the kids burger, they better have been a girl. My only suggestion, would be to offer a half pound version.

I don't know if it's just me, but the past two times I've been to Burger Bungalow, the service and the food just isn't as good. :( Which makes me want to cry because this has been my favorite place for a burger since moving to Vancouver last July. The owner (Linda?) is always so sweet and accomodating, but she hasn't been there the past two times and I think that has impacted my experience. And the original cook (Marek) was always fun and cheerful, too. I have always ordered the Bleu Fungii because it's usually really tasty. I don't know what has changed, but these past two times it's been only tolerable. Every previous trip to BB I have ordered the Bleu Fungii as is and it's never come with bungalow sauce (which is good, because I'm probably the only person around who doesn't like it) but now, apparently, it does. Ok, not a huge deal, I'll just order it plain, (but it didn't say on the menu that it included the sauce, hence my confusion.) My real problem is that the lady who was there (Joy? I didn't get her name) treated me like a nuisance when I asked her for a new burger without the sauce. She made me feel extremely guilty for even suggesting such a thing before finally whisking it away and loudly explaining to the (new?) cooks that I apparently didn't realize ALL the burgers came with the sauce. The cooks then could be heard arguing back and forth about whether to make me a new burger or just scrape off the sauce. Yes, I heard them, everyone heard them. Apparently they decided to go with the latter, and simply gave me a new bun with the same burger. Ok. At this point, I felt so scorned that I simply took the burger and ate a few bites so the cashier wouldn't shoot me anymore daggers with her looks. The burger just wasn't as good as it's been in the past. 1. The bun wasn't toasted, where it had been the previous times. 2. The burger itself was almost cold the first time it came out, and it's usually piping hot. 3. It just tasted "off" somehow, maybe it was the sauce remnants that remained? In all fairness, we were the last customers of the night, so the staff probably just wanted to close up and go home, but hey, I still paid to eat there, shouldn't I get the same service as the first customer of the day? (The previous time before tonight, my husband had picked up the burgers on his way home from work. The Bleu Fungii wasn't great then, either, but I figured my husband had just ordered the wrong burger by accident. He did mention on that night that it was very busy and he didn't recognize any of the people working so they might have been new.) All in all, I just miss the hospitality that the owners provide, I know they can't be there all the time, but how I wish they could. I can't say whether I will be able to go back. :( I really wish the good food and service hadn't disappeared, I used to love this place.

I have to admit, I made this a regular lunch stop for awhile. After being absent for a few months, I returned..... Something changed and I really cannot put my finger on it. The regular staff changed, there were new faces and the burgers changed as well. My first encounter with the new crew was ok and the burger so-so. I returned a week later to see if it was just me or did something really change. This time I brought a co-worker with me who loved Bungalow as well. They also noted the happy cheerful staff was different and something was off/new with the burgers. It's still good, so I'll give it 4 stars. But its annoying to be carded when using a credit card. Really? If the transaction went through, my crappy ID won't change that. Knock that off, its from the 80's.... Remember kids, transaction goes through yay, sign and go. Transaction denies, pay cash. It's really that easy.....

I love burgers. But man this place was kind of a dissapointment. We met some friends there for dinner. I had the guacomole burger. It was lacking flavor and was just rather bland. The bun to fixings ratio was off a little. On our burgers there was a little too much bun. My wife had a burger with bbq sauce on it. She said the bbq sauce over powers the burger way too much and is very sweet. Our fries were pretty good. We tried the deep fried parmesan bread thats decent. My two kids had clam chowder. My daughter refused to eat all of it which was odd. Since she loves chowder. When we left they both ended up having stomach and other issues. it costs an extra 2.50 to add one sauce and fries to your burger which was fine. But they limit you to only a couple sauces you can get. I wanted the spicy house sauce. The owner said thats an extra .25cents.. I thought that was kind of odd. Oh yeah the yin yang cookies are kinda cheap but not very good. All i all our whole group was not that impressed with this place. And all agreed we would not be returning. If you want a good burger for a good price check out killer burgers on 192nd.

Fungi and blue burger The burger was cooked well done so when it cooled a bit it was dry. Tasty mushrooms but not very much blue cheese. The buttered and toasted bun didn't fall apart so it can stand up against the burger which was nice. Big Green burger Same dry burger and good bun but the guacamole didn't have much flavor. House made chips (fries) Fry sauce was very good with a tang you don't usually find in a fry sauce but the fries themselves were just ok.

I ordered the veggie burger to go. The sandwich was great, and I really enjoyed the bun. My box was packed to the brim with french fries, which I devoured with their signature Bungalow sauce (pretty sure it was ketchup and mayo mixed together, but I'm not complaining :) I'm in agreement with many other reviewers that I wish they had a burger only option. I work across the parking lot, and I would eat lunch there much more frequently if I didn't have to pay for the fries and drink as well as the burger. I don't need that much food, and I don't drink soda. The wait was a little long, and the prices aren't low, but good food is worth waiting for, and when it comes to ingredients, you get what you pay for. The atmosphere isn't very inviting, and I wouldn't dine in, it's hard to decorate in their strip mall location.

I had a hankering for a really good hamburger today. So I searched the web, looking for a burger joint of good reputation in my area. So we went to Burger Bungalow for the first time! I had seen its storefront for a few months but had never been inclined to try it until I read the positive reviews. The experience lived up to the reviews! It was a great tasting burger! Cooked to order, very fresh tasting meat, & the most unique flavors for hamburgers. Even the fries tasted cooked to order. We'll definitely go there again and again!

Today was my 3rd visit to Burger Bungalow. The 3 visits have been over the past year or so, and with each visit this place is consistently improving. We (The lunch crew) had just come off yesterday's Meh lunch at Red Robin. I don't know how we came out burgers again, but off to Burger Bungalow we went. I ordered the Sourdough Burger basket. Not really sure what I was going to get. What I got was something resembling a BLT, but with a Burger patty added. I first tried my fries, and almost burned my tongue. They were hot, but once they cooled for a minute or so, they tasted really darn good, slightly crunchy, and soft in the middle, perfectly salted, with just a hint of peel still on. The burger, tasted like meat. Now that doesn't come off flattering, but I mean it to be flattering. Yesterdays burger, really didn't taste like much of anything. Burger Bungalow's tasted like a real hamburger, like what I would make at home. The Bacon was not over done, and they used romaine lettuce rather than shredded iceberg. Overall Burger Bungalow is beating out Red Robin and Five guys on the taste of their burgers, and slightly edging Red Robin on the fries. Like many of my fellow North westerners, I am a proud "Buy local" snob. Burger Bungalow is not a franchise or chain. They are a one of kind local burger joint. This is a huge plus for me, as I always go out of my way to support the folks that live where I do. I give Burger Bungalow a very strong recommendation for a decent burger. Time will tell if they start making the "Best Burger" lists that crop up from time to time.

I've been here twice. First time the burger was excellent. I got a cheeseburger with added bacon and a fried egg; it was incredible with just the right amount of juiciness and slippery, can't-put-the-burger-down-or-it-will-fall-apart. Second visit was with my son. I got the cheese stuffed burger. It had a warning that the cheese is "extremely hot so be careful". I bit into it and there was no lava cheese coming out...only a thin light colored orange film with no flavor. I was bummed. My son ordered a plain bacon burger; bun, burger, and bacon, and nothing else. We told them two times just to be sure. He received the three items but with sauce on it. If we wanted sauce, we would have asked for it. They made us a new burger pronto and were apologetic which was cool The fries are excellent! Cooked to perfection. I will give them another chance.

Been here quite a few times and its alway been good but never blow me away amazing. For the price I would like to see hand formed patties vs what looks to be pressed frozen ones. House sauce is really a highlight and the staff is always friendly. My biggest complaint is them wanting ID for credit card use which is against the merchant agreement with credit card companies. Would also like to see their hours of operation expanded.

The prices were a bit higher than what I expected. Most of the burgers were $10 or a little higher. I purchased the avocado burger. It was fine, just nothing made it stand out to me. I was not happy about paying extra for sauce, which honestly tasted exactly like ketchup mixed with mayo. On the plus side, the portions were large so I left feeling full. Id go back, but the burger really didn't seem special.

After the last fiasco I returned today with the person that first took me to BB, and I ordered everything NOT burger. Clam chowder and fish and chips. Who woulda thunk. Way 5 stars. The Clam Chowder is incredible and in the top five of all chowders I have tasted. The chowder flavor is incredible. The clams are uber tender. Potatoes are perfectly portioned. What can I say? I will be back and I expect to consume gallons of this potion in the future. The fish and chips: Fish is cod. That's what the English do. But this is NOT English fish and chips and never claims to be. However, BB serves VERY respectable fish as the two pieces you receive are about three-four times the size of the pieces you receive anywhere else and the batter is good, though a little bland. I'll tick Red Robin above BB for their fish. Halibuts above both. All three batter related. Tarter sauce for all three gets 5 stars. Nice tasty dill-based sauce. The Fish and Chips are also served with cole slaw. I took one taste and could not manage another. As a lover of cole slaw I was surprised at the bitter bite BB's dressing had. Next time I will substitute cole slow with more potato chips! Speaking of which... The chips? Not so much. Just not my flavor. BB fires up artificially crisped fries. The outside of the fries are treated to be crunchy. Works great for a burger, not so much for fish and chips. Red Robin and Halibuts rises above with natural wedge fries. Just my personal preference. I have learned for my personal taste to never order fries. Always chips (crisps as coined in Britain). BB makes the most incredible homemade chips in the Northwest. Service today was great from the counter to the table. Impressed. In spite of some (minor) negatives the meal was nice and memorable. Burger Bungalow has established itself in Vancouver as a very respectable Cafe-style restaurant.

This is a classic story of a business getting popular and then ram riddling their customers. They used to have a mom and pop feeling great food, today they are overpriced and very low quality service. I paid 34 dollars for 2 burgers and a kid meal. And on top of that was charged 1.50 for sauce. This is the last time I'll go here. And I will tell everyone. This is the last time your gonna ram riddle me burger bungalow!!! I got a message from the owner in my inbox: Samantha. I have not heard back from you so I searched again through our tickets. I found your ticket and saw that you did purchase 2 adult burgers, 1 kids meal, 2 baskets (which include fries and a 16 oz.drink), an 8 oz. bungalow sauce (which clearly states on the flyer that it's $1.50, not free), and a cheesecake and it still did not come to $34.00, with your tip included. I noticed on your ticket that it was a to go order so I reviewed our security tapes in response to your comment that we have low quality service. I did not see any decline in our service for your to go order. It was ready when you got here and you were on your way within minutes. I'm not exactly sure why you have decided to slam us like this, but as evidenced by our ticket we have and our tape, your statements are completely false and uncalled for. What I would suggest doing is to remove your comment. I don't think you realize that slander is illegal when it can be proven that you are wrong. my reply: First off, My name is not Samantha detective, so lets not start slinging mud at random customers, and 2nd, really? After having a horrible experience, not only are you going to try and prove the customer wrong, but on top of that your going to threaten me with the law and say I'm slandering? I cannot believe the unprofessionalism. Please.. this must be a joke. Well I think the owner says it all, case in point.

A coworker suggested this place. Not thinking much about a burger joint I went along. HOLY CRAP!!!! I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE! I have told so many people about this place. I have only had the mechanical bull....BBQ sauce, onions, thick bacon, I'm sure there's cheese, don't forget the hamburger pattie all on a great bun!!! Not the normal bun you get from Red Robin or somewhere else. On Artisan bread...MMMMMMM!!!!! Your going to pay around $10 but that gets you a drink, a GREAT burger, and a butt load of fries with their homemade fry sauce!! Definitely Recommend!!!

I'd say more 3 and a half stars, but having worked in the customer service/food industry I'm extremely empathetic. We visited here the first time the other day for lunch, after having read some of the Yelp reviews. Organic beef, real buns, locally owned? Count me in. We both got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink. It was a bit pricey, but I don't come in to real burger places expecting Value Menu prices. But somehow my favorite burger place, In N Out, remains cheap, go figure... Anyway, the burgers were big and messy, in a good way. I'm not really a fan of large thin burgers, I guess that's my biggest complaint. I'd rather the circumference be smaller and have a thicker, juicier burger, since the patty was slightly dry. The fries and sauce were delicious though! Addicting. I wanted to eat all of it, but I was way too stuffed. I didn't eat a thing the rest of the day. So when you think about it, the price is fair for the most part, but 4 more dollars for fries and a soda that probably costs them like 50 cents is a little steep.

Damn, I'm getting tired of trying to go to Burger Bungalow. The latest was arriving 20 minutes before closing and being told that I could only order 'to go'. Are you for real? The place closes early on most nights (a burger place that closes at 7 on most weeknights and 8pm on the weekend? Get serious!) And, if you look on the main restaurant page here, you will see no Sunday hours... When I've been able to get in the freakin' door, I've been reasonably happy. The more times I get stymied trying to give them my money, though, the lower my rating gets. Burger Bungalow, get serious...just open for lunch...its all you really want to do, anyway...

Went here for the first time today, I love a good burger and am always eager to try a new place. I ordered a standard cheeseburger with bacon and a grilled cheese for the kid, with chips for both. The burger arrived and was hot and very juicy. It was flavorful and decent sized. My one complaint is that the burger was thin, it is 1/3lb but it seamed to get a bit overwhelmed by the bun(which was excellent, lightly toasted.) IMHO they could loose about an inch in diameter overall and it would be perfect. The house made chips were really good. My kid can be a bit of a picky eater but ate up the grilled cheese with gusto. I do wish the cheese was a bit more melty. I'll def be back to try some of the other burger options. Oh, one other thing, the napkins need to be a bit sturdier to stand up to the wipings needed whilst munching on the delicious food.

My husband and I recently ate here for the first time. I had the #1 Build Your Own Burger, fries and a drink. I asked for the Bungalow Sauce on the side, which I did receive, but the sauce was still put on my hamburger. My husband ordered the #5 "The House" Burger, onion rings, and a drink. We received a LOT, I repeat, a LOT of food. Our orders were too much for us to finish. We decided if we ever eat here again, we should buy one meal and share it.

I have been to Burger Bungalow twice now, and each time I've come away very happy. As far as burgers go, this is definitely of the better kept secrets in Vancouver. They offer a very relaxed family friendly environment. It would definitely be a great "out on a Saturday with the family and needed some grub" type of joint. The staff has been really friendly so far and I have absolutely no complaints about the service. If you're looking for a good burger, I'd highly recommend checking this place out.

When George Washington Carver said, "When common people do common things uncommonly well, they command the attention of the world" I am almost certain he had Burger Bungalow in mind. They are taking the humble burger to all new heights, and doing so from a ubiquitous little strip mall in Vancouver of all places. Burger Bungalow blows all other burgers out of the water. The locally raised, organic beef is just perfect. Perfect grind. Perfect fat content. Perfectly cooked. If it were just that meat on a cheap bun it would be worth every penny. But Burger Bungalow didn't stop there They added incredible buns, a myriad of options for toppings, and "Bungalow Sauce" that is so perfect I'd run the sixteen miles just to buy a tub of the stuff if they sold it that way. After a dozen or so visits, I've tried most the burgers, and a couple of specials. While you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I always suggest the "Bleu Fungi." Blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and thick bacon can only me made better with the addition of some caramelized onions (just ask for them.) Also, the fries are great, but if you order them you are missing out on the house made chips that are wonderful. I tell everyone I know about this place, and have gotten a few to go with me. When they first walk in they all say "It is a little spendy..." but after they realize that for less than $10 they get the burger, fries, and a drink they all agree it is reasonable. And that is before they ever taste these perfect burgers. After the first bite, it is agreed that they would be a steal at twice the price. Go! Go now!

This is a great place to go for a burger. Everyone is very friendly and the burgers are great. They have a great char-grilled flavor and are very juicy. The price is comparable to Red Robin and when you consider the beef is organic and has better flavor it's well worth the more casual atmosphere of Burger Bungalow. We will be back.

First time there. Great service. Try half chips half fries. Had the guacamole bacon burger. The meat makes the burger followed by the great bun. I'll be back. It's a real treat. Hope these folks make it.

Regular customer, I would say at least twice a month. Love the burgers, everything I have ever ordered was great. Very good flavorful burger, fries and / or chips are good. I personally would make a few changes, to incorporate more chicken, and bacon. That would make a darn good burger, an OUTSTANDING Burger. Only complaint I have - they charge for extra Bungalow sauce...little container for 35 cents....and they also charge .35 cents to cajun the fries (which is just cajun spice they sprinkle on the fries / chips) it's not the $$ more the principle.

OK, let's talk burgers. But first Fries-good, service-good, options on menu-good. Burger, well...........Why in the HELL would you serve Hunts (cheap brand) ketchup? This is Heinz country. Sorry it's just not right. BURGER- I have a problem with their seasoning or taste of their meat. Seemed to be lots of pepper. Both kids did not like the taste of the patty. I thought that it was fair, at best. The lettuce was a limp soggy single flat leaf and everything slides off of it. Not good. Great bun but over sized for the size of the patty. Why is it that only Red Robin and the nicer restaurants serve burgers with relish, especially red relish? What a difference that makes on a burger. Great pickle by the way is served with the burger. House sauce is like a Tex-Mex sauce. It's also just OK. Nice people, bad PR from the owner trying to defend herself on Yelp and I would suggest ignoring most of the bad reviews including this one. I am trying to be specific and have had way too many burgers in my lifetime. Meat is the key. Not grade of meat but the TASTE of meat. Shredded lettuce is much easier to navigate for the customer.

Best burgers BAR NONE! Fresh, organic, grass fed beef, home made buns, chips and fries. We are picky about where our food comes from, and this is one "sort of" fast food hamburger place you can feel good about taking your family. It's NOT McDonalds (thank god) so don't go if you're in a hurry. The time it takes is worth the short wait, and the owner will serve up your meal to your personally, and she even stops back by to see if you want your drink refilled! We take EVERYONE here. Love it!

This is the best burger joint I have found in Vancouver. They are not immediately visible from the street, but if you enter the Safeway parking lot on 112th Ave. & 28th St. they are in the smaller building closest to that corner. They have typical fast food tables...nothing fancy or upscale. You fill your own cups...which are recyclable plastic rather than the non-recyclable wax paper. Where they shine is their food. The meat is where it's at. They use organic beef from a local rancher...keeping it local is always good. They also have a choice between house made chips or fries. The chips are Yukon gold and they give you at least twice what I would expect. The burgers are very filling at 1/3 lbs. The bacon is flavorful and perfectly salted (a lot of joints over salt the bacon). They use real cheddar...not the facsimile they call cheddar most places. The service is friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean and they make their own special sauce which is nicely flavored. The food is fresh. Nothing tastes frozen. The owner is very friendly and willing to answer all your questions. The parking is in the same lot as the grocery store, so there is plenty. They seating is probably only up to 50 comfortably. There is a happy hour where you can purchase a burger for $6.50 with a small drink and fry or chips. Add-ons such as egg, bacon, guac, cheese, etc. are available for extra. They have a very affordable ($3-$4) childrens' menu with macaroni and cheese, burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and more. The cost outside of happy hour is not much more. For a burger, chips and a regular drink I paid eight and change. The only burger I have had that truly competes in terms of quality and flavor and local sustainability is forty minutes away. With Burger Bungalow so much closer, I will be coming back. P.S. The chicken is not organic.

MMMMmmmmm! This place is delicious. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of burgers, but when I do crave one, it has to be from this place. I love the selection of burgers and toppings, and I also love how the beef is local, and organic. The veggie burgers are also really really good - they're made in house too, and aren't those terrible frozen hockey puck things. My only complaint is that I wish they had shakes too :)

I went to the Burger Bungalow after a real close friend asked me to meet her there for a real good burger. The place was real clean, the waitress was very nice and the burger i ordered was bigger than i expected. Many layers of flavor, more than i could eat and it came with some home made chips that had a fresh cooked taste. over all a really nice suprise to fine a burger place with so many options to choose from .

Update September 2015: The ownership changed awhile back and it hasn't been nearly as good since. I just spent almost $30 for 2 burgers with fries and 1 side order, no drinks. When I got home I realized the side item was wrong, I ordered the parmesan bites but was given pepper jack cheese bites. When the place was new the burgers were juicy, messy, needed two hands and a lot of napkins to eat (which we liked), the burgers I came home with last time were thin, dry and not a lot of toppings. They don't offer the house made chips any longer and the new fries they use are not very good. It's too bad because I really liked having a local place to grab take out close to the house, but I can't imagine going back anytime soon. Too bad

i've noticed this place in the Safeway parking lot for several months now, but have shyed away because of the large turnover in this space. I was hungry for a burger last week and decided to give them a try. Everything is in an inclusive basket with fries/chips and drink. I had the cheeseburger and it was great: special sauce, fresh lettuce leaf, fresh onion slice and a real tomato slice. The most outstanding bun I've ever had on a burger. The meat is from some micro producer in the northwest so it doesn't have any junk in it. I was telling a friend about it and he asked if it was as good as Five Guy's, I said BB had better burger but FG''s has better fries. Give BB a try I think you'll think it is an upgrade from Burgerville.

I am stunned to see that BB has 4.5 stars. After hearing people rave about BB I went there for the first time today, and I was not impressed to say the least. I arrived before the lunch rush, there were only 2 people ordering ahead of me, still it took over 30 minutes to get my one combo The people ahead of me were complaining as well. I was annoyed at the fact that in order to swap a hamburger for a veggie burger it cost me $1.19 additional! I'm sure that the veggies didn't have to suffer as much as the cow, but I digress. So for $11, I got a veggie burger with cheese, fries and a coke...well not exactly a coke, it was carbonated water with caramel stain. I noticed after filling my own drink that the soda syrup carton refills were stitting nearby in need of replacing. After tasting my coke I realized there was no coke flavor at all, but by then there was a line, and only one cashier so I didn't bother to ask for someone to refill the soda since I was hoping to get out of there asap. So the burger was not bad, but the tomato was sliced paper thin and was barely noticable but other than that it was tasty, but not worth $8-9 by far. The fries were good, but they needed the special fry sauce, the best part of BB, which they are very chincy with, it only covered a few fries, then I had to toss the rest of the fries as they were bland. The poor girl at the counter was doing her best, and seemed pleasant but should not have been expected to run the show alone. Based on the quality vs price and time waiting for a simple burger lunch, I will not be going to Burger Bungalow again.

This place was recommended to me by a friend, who like myself, has a special place in his heart for a good burger. I had the flatline. It was nothing short of amazing. It wasn't crowded or noisy. The service was great and the food was better.

  • Foodie G.

Not bad for a first try and so I would go back again. I had the fungii and bleu and at first bite it was tasty. The next couple bites were a bit too much because of the overwhelming amount of bleu cheese. I guess for a person who loves bleu cheese it would be perfect but personally I only LIKE it. So I removed a little of the bleu cheese and then it was just right for me.

Will not return! The burger was the smallest part of the meal. They put a small burger on a huge roll and give you a small drink. For the price I paid I was expecting a bit more. Five guys gives you more for your money and the burgers taste a lot better!

Went there after a review in the Columbian. Watch out because soon they will need a bigger seating area as the word gets out. The burgers were wonderful and the sauce was just the right amount of spice and sweet. I was very impressed and plan to make it my favorite burger place.

So yummy! one of the best burgers i've tasted in Vancouver.

Burgers are alright but the cost doesn't justify the quality. The fries are the most tasteless ones I've ever had. Go to killer burger.

Love it!

Best burger I have had in a long time! My teenage boys enjoyed it as well... My oldest wanted the shut yo mouth burger but after he was told he would have to sign a waiver he tried the sauce and changed his mind lol... great food great service and organic local beef... we will be back!

I very rarely Crave a burger and when I do... this place satisfies that craving!!! The bread they use for a bun is so good and the burger is messy in a good way. They have a really good variety of burgers and the french fries are delicious as well. Very reasonable price By far one of the best burgers in Vancouver!

  • Aimee H.

Greasy, cold tasteless and overpriced. The burger was still way too pink inside and was mushy. I could have gotten a fast food chain burger waaaay better than this. $12.99 for onion rings and a cold burger. No thanks. I will definitely never be back.

The cod fish and chips are so tasty as long as you're okay with a little grease! The clam chowder is also super yummy. A definite must try! Wait time can be a little long though.

Not sure what happened to this place it used to be really good. The burgers are cold and undercooked and full of grease! They dont serve beer anymore and the service is not as good. I think there are new owners. So prob wont be back again...to bad because it used to be an amazing burger place!!

Love this place. It's on the way home from work so I'll often call for take out when I don't want to cook. Their clam chowder is amazing, as are their burgers. The bungalow sauce is a must with the fries, in fact, all the fried treats are great.
