The hub taproom is a great place for beer and food, especially on Sundays when everything is half price! Yes, even the beer!

This place just opened last week and is underneath The Hub, facing the opposite street (Next to Doyle's). The crowd was decent, and turned over a fair amount. I liked the seating style with the long common tables in the middle. It made for some interesting conversations with random people, including the guy that designed the interior and the proposed outdoor beer garden. A cool feature in this place was that the tables and counter tops (as well as the future outdoor tables) were all made from giant planks from the same tree, a 70 year old Doug Fir. Beautifully done! As expected, they serve the full selection of The Harmon's beers and had a decent menu. We had a pizza and it was pretty tasty, although a bit doughier than I like. I have my eye on a Cuban sandwich for the next time. If you're in Tacoma, you should try it out. I'm sure that once the word is out and the beer garden opens, the joint will be jumpin'!

Pretty good place. I mainly go here for the happy hour which starts at 9pm. There are some decent tacos and nachos, although they could be a bit tastier and larger in quantity for the rating to go a little higher.

The beers are fine but there are SO many better ones. It's good for happy hour, but pass on the regular prices. The food is decent bar food. The setting is nice, the patio/beer garden pleasant, and the staff pleasant. I've had better of everything, but the Tuesday happy hour deals are really good.

If you know Harmon, you probably know The Hub is their offshoot place. But the Taproom is the offshoot of their new production brewery and in the downstairs part of The Hub. So today is a really gorgeous day and I was bumping around Tacoma with the in-laws. We stopped here for a thirst quencer and a snack. The inside of the tap room is kind of Spartan with big wood tables and access to the brewery. It looks like a lot of production brewery taprooms (like Schooner Exact in Seattle or Lost Abbey in California.) But the outdoor patio with big wood tables on this day, amazing. We stayed longer than we had planned. Such a nice day and such good beer. The next sunny day I'm in Tacoma, I'm coming back to the Taproom and not fighting the crowds at the waterfront places.

I work basically right next door to the Harmon so I've had my fair share of experiences there. The staff is always friendly and I've never really been let down on the food. The little steak deal on Tuesday is nice, $5 for fries and a small steak (I don't know how many oz..) and the Happy Hour all day Monday is great too. I like ordering the wings "naked" style, so crispy! The bacon blue cheese burger is amazing also, just make sure you have napkins handy and the parmesan garlic fries are great. Getting a growler is always a good idea :)

Happened upon the Harmon Tap Room for lunch on 9/9 while waiting for some car repairs down the road, and was blown away! The ESB was OUTSTANDING (far better than that other, more main stream ESB that started in the NW), and the fish & chips were some of the best I've ever had- nicely battered, not the usual plain deep fried coating many places serve. The atmosphere was great tap room style with lots of exposed wood and big spaces. Our waitress was simply fantastic- she was super nice and very prompt. Not to mention she had some of the best tattoos I've ever seen (ok, I'm no expert in tattoos by any means, but they were still very cool). She absolutely made my day! Thank U! :) I don't make it to Tacoma very often, but I may start finding more reasons just to get back to the Harmon Tap Room.

The Tap room continues to impress me. The food just keeps getting better. the specials are fresh and inventive. I love drinking beer that is local. The Harmon line of brews are now at BevMo! That is how good this beer is. And it is brewed right inside their resturant.

I tried coming to the Tap Room one night, but my little brother (underage) was not allowed in. Another night, after shedding my underage brother, I visited the Tap Room. I am not a fan of beer but appreciate the quality of the Harmon Brew. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sicilian style pizza, and look forward to trying more food. I also liked the variability of the menu between the Tap Room and the Hub. What I really loved about the Tap Room was the service. Our waiter was fantastic. He was holding insightful conversations about the beer behind the bar, and came around to check on us often. When our pizza was ready and was not what we ordered, he brought it to us, apologized and explained the error, and that another pizza was already in the oven, and we would not be charged double--before we even realized it wasn't the pizza we ordered. Good people looking out for others. I was very impressed by his proactive action.

I like Harmons and The Hub. On our first and only visit to The Tap Room: I ordered the antipasto plate. If Denny's has an antipasto plate, this would be it. Someone opened some jars of low-quality olives, pickled mushrooms, and red peppers and dumped them on a plate with some K-Mart quality provolone and salami. It must have sat under the warming lamps, as the cheese had turned that "I've been sitting on the table for three hours" look and the salami was sweating. There were also little bread slices and a mound of feta cheese. Yuck. The fish tacos were good, but the side of tortilla chips could use some salsa to dip in. I asked about the pizza of the day. The server said there was no pizza on happy hour. There menu online lists a "Pizza of the Day, Chefs Choice, Only $3". I'm not sure what the disconnect on that is??? I ate part of the antipasto plate, my partner finished his tacos, and we walked up the block to The Hub and had a $5 happy hour pizza. Nummy.

My husband and I stopped by the new Harmon Tap Room on the night of it's Grand Opening celebration, and it was buzzing with people. The waitstaff was successfully busting their butts to deliver excellent service. It was a crazy experience (reminded me of a small version of the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany). I LOVE the long timber tables and views of the brewery at the center of the room. We were impressed with our first experience, but only stayed for one beer and then let others come in and take our place, as we wanted everyone to have a turn on opening night! We returned a week later and wanted to do dinner, so we tried the salmon pizza, which was amazing! I love crust on this pizza, it has a deep-dish like consistency, only without the greasiness that usually accompanies a deep-dish pizza. (For those of you who love thin crust, I recommend heading upstairs to the Harmon Hub, which serves great thin-crust, wood-fired pizzas.) Our server, Justin, was a rock-star who kept our glasses full and our faces smiling the whole evening. He was the only one working and managed to successfully tend the bar, serve the food, and wait the tables. Great work, Justin! We love that new places are cropping up all over Tacoma and we hope that they will stay in business for a long time and become staples of the T-town experience. I recommend ESB on tap and my husband loves the Smoky Mild specialty beer. Happy Hour seven days a week! Lots of other fun events on their online calendar. Check out the Harmon Tap Room, you will not be disappointed!

I have been eating at Harmon's for about 6 or 7 years and I have always loved the food and service. That is until I purchased a couple of Living Social Deals for breakfast at Harmon's. The breakfast is terrible, poor quality ingredients like frozen hashbrowns instead of real potatoes but also really really poorly executed. My over medium eggs needed to be sent back twice because they were undercooked. The bacon was greasy and limp, the coffee tasted like grounds and the service was really slow considering there were only a couple of tables filled. This was so disappointing, but I had purchased two deals so I gave them a second chance a few weeks later and everything came out cold. I mentioned the problem I had with the eggs the first time to the waitress and so this time the eggs came out so overcooked they were like rubber, is it really so hard to make an over medium egg?? Come on Harmon's either get some passion about your breakfast service or dump it!

(3.5 Stars) You will notice right away that there are way too many Harmon brew selections to 1) have all the taps in one location, and 2) drink in one sitting every offering. Might I recommend breaking it up/working off the calories by walking up and down the hill to Broadway between pours. Great front room/bar area - very bright and easy going, but that they make you stumble practically thru the kitchen to get to the bathrooms seems a liability to me. Very relaxed vibe during the lazy Sunday we were there (one guy was actually in jammies) that lulled us into staying for an extra pint. It didn't hurt that the beers we sampled (except for the Cream Cicle seasonal - thank you barkeep for the 'you really should try before you buy' warning) were tasty and satisfying. Didn't try any of the food on this trip, as food seems to really not be the point with selections such as deep-fried risotto balls and cream cheese covered sausages, so couldn't comment on that. Although we had very friendly service from the bartender, glasses did sit there long enough between visits to air dry, zinging one of my über pet peeves whilst at a bar, at the bar. We're planning on hitting them up again though next time we're in town. Bring a few of my growlers for the trip back north!

the food is pretty good but not great. and the harmon beers are also good but not great. they do have guest taps though that rotate through. the WTF sunday happy hours (half off everything all day) is obviously a great deal though. the outdoor patio is one of the best in town for the few sunny summer days that we get. they've changed the layout several times since they first opened and we dig the current set up. it was tight for a while when they opened the full bar but they seem to have made good use of the space since then.

Awesome beer, excellent service and something happening every night. Gold Fish Races and $5 Rainier pitchers are awesome on Tuesdays and half price wine on Thursdays... ALSO half off your entire bill on Sundays. Try the pizza. It's awesome. And the seasonal Mighty Tacoma Ale is amazing if you go soon. Favorite Harmon brew is the ESB.

Great little new place. I love the Hub upstairs and have migrated down to the Tap Room a few times and always have fun. They are also do live music so thats gonna be awesome.

The Tap Room previously would have received a five star rating from me but my visit last night was a colossal disappointment. After convincing three friends who had never been there before to join us for pizza and beers we were all seriously disappointed. They have recently rearranged the place, raised the prices and the quality of the food has seriously fallen. We ordered the bbq chicken pizza and I can only describe it as gross. I have eaten better frozen pizza. One friend had the chicken picatta, which she said was "okay", another ordered chicken wings which were super greasy, rubbery and bland. The female server we had was friendly and responsive, the male food runner appeared very uninterested in customer service. I will say the beer was as tasty as usual. I have been there at least a dozen times before and I am not sure what happened since my last visit in December but it isn't good. Doubt we will go back unless I hear or read things are improving there. The Pacific Ave location is a family favorite so I hope the bad scene up the hill doesn't wander down the street.

Good service, decent food at good prices. The Happy Hour prices are great - $6 for a couple sliders, $7 for a whole pizza! And not just any pizza - a proper wood oven pizza. The only weird thing is, we went on a Sunday at around 1, and they said that they were serving the Happy Hour menu and pizzas, but they weren't serving anything from the actual lunch menu until 2 pm. I found that to be rather...odd. How do they not serve lunch menu food at noon? Or 1 pm? The restaurant area has a great view, though.

  • Olivier N.

It's all because of the service, or lack thereof. They have some great deals during the week, but there is usually one person taking orders and pouring beers, so taking advantage of the deals is somewhat problematic. It could be 20-30 minutes before someone comes and asks you what you would like to drink... Or longer!! I mean common, put another staff member on service, especially when the house is full! This may be the last time I come here, the second and last time, if Harmon can't step it up. And the beer is not all that great, and not all that cold. Usually you get a cool beer poured into a warm pint glass (warm because it was just washed). Not good. Props to the dude serving though, but could do without the pompous attitude. Props for serving so many folks. *just had ranch sauce spilled on by said dude. Not cool.

Just walked out. Literally every single open table was dirty, server greeted me after we sat down at a dirty table then proceeded to clean the largest least important table leaving mine dirty. He came back & and if we wanted to order drinks & when I said we wanted the table cleaned first he told me they only had two people working. Place was packed & he just wanted to let me know because "things would take longer than usual". Ok. Bye, off to somewhere that can at least prioritize the cleaning of the tables.

False advertising on website and Yelp menu! Too bad I have to change my great review to this. My wife and I went there around 9:30pm with a good friend from out of town. Had previously looked on the website to verify happy hour times and show my friend the happy hour menu. Sat down, received beers, saw the new menus asked the server about the happy hour menu. Reply, "we don't do that anymore." My reply, "it's advertised on the website." Nothing, no apology, no concession. Apparently we missed their new "rotating happy hour." We ordered three beers under a false pretense and falsely advertised price and then were met by relatively poor service and attitude. This is not good practice. I didn't want to believe other poor reviews about bad service and business practices, but now I see. We ordered food because we were too hunger to go elsewhere, and then left for what will probably be the last time. Leaving 2 stars only because the Cubano was pretty tasty. The burger was forgettable and arrived on what appears to be a small dinner roll.

Great friendly service. They were unaware of a conference taking place and therefore did not expect the rush. I had to wait for a long time for food but the servers tried their best. They were sympathetic and made it better. The food was delicious and presentation was wonderful. I recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some good pasta. I got the pesto spaghetti and it was amazing.

  • Reena E.

Went there for breakfast, however would love to go their during happy hour next time to try their different beers. The waitress was super friendly. For their breakfast, they served breakfast pizza, so our group decided to try it. We were told that it was 10 inch pizzas, so our group decided to order one each. Bad idea! When the pizzas came out, there were 14 inch pizzas, but were still pretty good. So next time you order the pizzas, order and share.

At one point I considered Harmon Tap Room to be pretty decent fare in the Tacoma area with good beer and great food choices. That being said, the only reason I will never return is because I found a chunk of meat in my nachos, which were ordered specifically with no meat. The waiter even asked if I wanted meat, and I specified that I did not. The cook was careless with his work and let a piece of meat get into the dish. While it did not make me sick, it showed me that there is a distinct lack of attention to detail, and I do not want to find out what other things may be lacking in attention to detail.

If I can give 0 stars I would: we waited one hour for our to go order because they switched servers and forgot to put in our order. Lame!!

I'm more of a fan due to the proximity to my place than I am of any one thing this place does great. They do make great Sweet Chili wings that are a must try when you go. They are cheap during happy hour which is twice a day from 3-6 and 9 til close or 11. I am not a fan of their brew. They do have a Vanilla Porter currently on tap that is pretty tasty, but their regular rotation is average at best. Overall, good pizza, good wings, decent enough beer for 3 bucks a pint, 8 dollar growlers daily between 5-6pm, and its in the neighborhood. I'm here a few times a week for those reasons alone. The bartenders are cool and they are locals too.

    (3)
  • Tim O.

Had a good time here. My brother and I went on a Monday afternoon, so there was basically no one else in the restaurant. The bartender (don't remember her name) had only been there for a few days, but everything went very smoothly. I ordered a large pizza but she informed me of a happy hour deal going on at the time and dropped my price by more than 50%. The pizza was great and the beer was fantastic, too. There were two guys working back in the brewery. They apparently had some extra time, because they came out front to the bar to hang out and enjoy a few glasses of their labors. We all talked about various things, and they seemed very willing to answer questions about brewing beer. Altogether a a good experience.

  • Carol B.

Coffee was sooo good and he even drew in the steamed milk! Very friendly service. Also bought some Hoptarts (Delicious!) and a bag of hop coffee beans. I brewed some today and it was really good! I highly recommend this place.

  • Kara S.

I had high hopes for this place after hearing great things but I was very unimpressed. The beer was good I'll give them that but the food and overall service were less than desirable. We waiting over an hour for Mac n cheese and two appetizers. Every table next to us had their food faster than us and ordered well after we were there. Our server offered no explanation and never checked in on us until we were fed up and ready to leave. I'm sorry but if you have a big party upstairs (the apparent reason for the slow service) you plan ahead, schedule more staff and prep your kitchen to handle it.

  • Lucas R.

Awesome Happy Hour and great place to relax. Good outdoor seating, the back section is great for watching a game, and the front is a good spot to visit or people watch. We really like their dessert-beer paring and all of the food is good. We always have a good time here. The service can be a little slow at times, but we expect that and it is nice to take your time now and then.

  • Annie N.

Hard to put a star amount on their DISCONTINUATION OF HAPPY HOUR. Rating is an amalgam of what they used to offer (solid 4) and the bait and switch I experienced with their Important Customer Card, wherein $1 beers were touted All Day Every Tuesday!!! I arrived there to discover they had added 8-oz 'schooners' to their offerings, and of course that was the $1 special. Still not a bad deal, but then the other shoe dropped: no more Happy Hours. The menu has been updated, but I was jonesing for a pizza, so I drank my schooner of beer and then went upstairs to the Hub.

  • Angela F.

This place has great beer and decent food. I particularly recommend their happy hour ($3 for any Harmon beer and $6 pizza). The staff is good, especially Shasta, who is always very friendly and attentive. Overall, one of my favorite places to get a beer in Tacoma.

  • Katie P.

Really good beer Really good service Relatively lackluster food Good place to stop off of I-5 for a break from traffic I met my folks here as we were driving towards each other on the 5 in opposite directions last Sunday. Being technologically unsavy, my mom told me to go to the Harmon Restaurant downtown. After frantically driving around looking for parking, I came into the Harmon Tap Room late-stage anxiety attack. When our waitress came around she was like "Oh you went to the location on Pacific Street? Parking down there is really bad..." THANK YOU! SEE, MOM? They offer Yelp deals for checking in. I got a $2 pint of beer. Their IPA is really good. Sundays are all day happy hour. My mom's chicken wings, stepfather's nachos and my fish & chips were all tasty, but not 'impressive.' They do simple things good and... simple. I would say to try their pizzas, they look like the best items on the menu. For the record, there is plenty of parking at this location on St Helens Ave.

  • Nellie C.

The grinders (aka the hot yummy sandwiches) were delish! Reasonably priced too! They also have great beers, but since I prefer cider, it was nice that they had a couple of options, on tap ~ berry cider is whatz up! Only 4 stars cuz service was meh. Server only wanted to help the locals. FYI, you may wanna be more attentive to the ladies that will be buying properties in yo neighborhood & have a ton of friends w/ $$$ to burn ~ just sayin'

  • Shannan H.

I was not a huge fan of the beer but I did enjoy the food. My salad was fresh and light, very complimentary of the beer. The atmosphere was nice. Good lighting and quite enough to hold a conversation but loud enough that it didn't feel stuffy. Very good service from the wait staff. Would have rated higher if the beer was better, expected more from a brewery.

    (3)
  • James D.

We are giving up after three tries. The food is so inconsistent and slow there is no point in trying to eat here. The beer is fine. Service is very slow. We ordered two salads and waited 55 minutes. The menu recently changed for the worse. The salads were half the previous size and served in awkward aluminum dog dish type bowls. The chicken was undercooked and they forgot to dress the greens. There is not enough wait staff and the ones working there seem disgruntled

    (2)
  • Coco M.

Simple bar menu fare but a great happy hour means time to snack with each of the many beer options always available at this brewery. The caprese salad was a complete surprise with an addition of pesto (in lieu of fresh basil leaves) and a pretty standard meat and cheese platter goes well alongside your beer, neither are meant as the main draw. However, the smoked salmon platter was a surprise hit and a great showcase of what the Pacific Northwest loves the most. There's a reason this is the land of the smoked salmon which makes this lox-loving, bagel-chomping Brooklynite very happy. Very happy.

I honestly did not expect much prior to coming here, but my bf and I wanted to check it out anyway. We came here on a Friday night and there were quite a few people inside. We sat in the bar. Service from our waiter was great. He was attentive but not in your face. My bf ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered the nachos with chicken. His dish came with a salad which was delicious! He really enjoyed his spaghetti. I tasted the meatball and it was a little mushy for my taste, but he liked it. My nachos plate was HUGE!!!! Seriously! And it was happy hour (3-6, 9-midnight) so it was only $5! +$2 for the meat. The cheese was melted perfectly and the picco de gallo was delicious. However, I only wish they were a little more generous with the picco de gallo... It was very sparse. The chicken was like all white breast meat I believe... So it was dry. The drinks we ordered were not stiffed at all! They aren't chinsy on the alcohol... That's for sure.. Overall, a great place in Tacoma to check out for drinks and food without breaking the bank. I liked the ambiance of the bar, too.

I came here for happy hour this summer. In house beer was pretty tasty and the ambience was really popping. It was during the summer games and there were quite a few people. I had the fish tacos as well and these were the best I've had since I moved here.

My best friend and I decided to try this place for her birthday recently on a Sunday afternoon. Because it was sunny outside, the patio was totally full and the inside was very steady. Unfortunately because of how busy they were, we were very neglected and ended up walking out. We sat down and waited for a long time and when the server came over, my friend ordered coffee and I ordered water. When the drinks were brought over the coffee wasn't warm at all and the server explained it was "old and they could brew a fresh pot if we wanted". She hadn't brought us menus and when she walked away I tried asking for them but she didn't hear me I guess because she never brought any over. She never came back to our table. We sat for a good 10 minutes with no service, while the wait staff was seemingly available. I understand we came at a busy time but regardless, we should have received better service. We laid down a couple bucks to pay for the coffee she didn't drink and left.

Fun times! The outside seating is amazing, they didn't mind that my group was loud and crazy! They have big size jenga that was a blast. Nachos were average, beer was good, our waitress Devin was amazingg. Will be returning!

  • Justin H.

Had a company function here which was also my first time so I was looking forward to checking this place out. When our party showed up early, the servers quickly setup tables of our group and we were served beers shortly after that. The food was good and they had nice menu options. I was teetering between the crab mac and cheese and the Tacoma dip..went with the dip and really liked it. I tried their amber and blonde beers and I really enjoyed both of them, the amber was a little on the bitter side for me, but had a nice after taste and the blonde was light and tasty. I would for sure be making my way back here at some point, I liked the atmosphere and want to try some of their other food options, esp the crab mac and cheese!

  • Charity A.

Love this place. Lots of reviews have been harsh on the service, but I've always had great food, beer and service when I go. The happy hour is not to be missed and is ALL day on Sundays. They have events as well, so make sure you check out their calendar. Pub trivia night, yes please. I recommend the pizza, for sure. While a fan of NY style thin crust pizza, I make exceptions here. Their deep dish is to die for. So crispy and delicious.

I count 9 Harmon beers on tap. Happy hour specials are great and mostly $5 and under. Rustic and local in appearance. A place worth finding. Also it appears they have home brewed coffee , but I will only stick to the beer

We came for a drink and a bite. I wasn't really impressed with the food. We paid the $5 cover to sit in the back room and listen to the early bands on a Saturday night. The band was worse than the food. We tried to move out front, but that area was packed (likely people trying to avoid the noise in the back). I had the Cuban sandwich and Fries. The fries had no seasoning and seemed to have been cooked in old oil. They were on the burned side.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars. Service is usally pretty good. Although the last time I was there they were kind of slow. Food is decent to good. Tacoma Dome Dip is amazing! The fish and chips are just okay.

Awful omelets, warm beer, crappy service... do not go there for breakfast ever. They completely got my order wrong TWICE!!

  • Sara F.

It's really too bad the Harmon doesn't do their "1/2 off your bill on Sundays" anymore, because that made it a must-stop for my friends when I lived in T-Town. On the day of rest, it was packed with people relaxing with cheap drinks. A beautiful thing no more. The Good: -Food. Loove their pizza ($5 on happy hour), panini, nachos, fries, you name it, everything I've had here is absolutely delicious. They know what they're doing. -Beers on tap are obviously awesome -The outdoor seating area is really fun with a group of people. Rows of tables with dim lighting is perfect for a warm summer night. -Location. Next to Doyle's and The Hub The Bad: -Service. The tattooed bartender is such a dick. It's like he enjoys ignoring you while he talks to his friends, knowing you need something, or walk right past your table when you're obviously looking at him, just to feel his power. Uhhh you're not powerful, you're just a dick. -Like I said before, the service. I've been to The Taproom a lot, and waited too long for another round, an extra 20 minutes for a check, etc plenty of times. And this does not always apply to the dick aforementioned. So it's a tossup. But on Happy Hour? "They told me to just do it, I listened to what that swoosh said." - Macklemore

Not busy & we got NO service. Not even a drink. My husband and I came in for lunch & a growler refill today...mid-week...at about 11:30 am. There were no other customers except one person sitting at the bar looking at his laptop. A gentleman greeted us when we came in & said someone would be right out. There were 3 employees (2 men & a woman) at the little side bar by the front door talking. We sat down & waited for at least 5 minutes. No one came to even take a drink order. I could see the employees from where I sat facing them. We finally walked out. The employees just looked at us. They didn't say a word. We went next door to Doyle's to have lunch. Very disappointing to be completely ignored. We had been here several times before & had good service. By the way; the menu has also changed within the last year. Not as many choices.

Our party of eight walked in on a Sunday afternoon and didn't know what to expect. The server took great care of us and we really enjoyed our dinner. The menu items were well above typical pub fare. The dill ranch salad dressing and house salad were great as were all the pizzas we ordered.

They love Tacoma Runners, have an AWESOME deck, great seasonal brews, good food (I'm vegan so other than the hummus there's not a lot of options but the food looks & smells good!) according to friends I've come with. All in all a great little neighborhood gem.

I'm amazed by the notion of wanting to drink a beer or several. It is not the wanting or needing but the notion of being worthy is such I'm justice. Enjoy

The beer is good, but that was the only benefit. Our server was nice but completely inattentive and I'm not a needy customer. Pizza was underdone and gooey. The meatball sandwich got burned so we were told they were remaking it and then they brought out the pulled pork sandwich instead of what was ordered. Our beers sat empty long enough that I had to go to the bar to get another. The server forgot the side of ranch and water so I had to go to the bar to get those as well. Despite the fact that it was mostly empty and there were 4 servers behind the bar swapping "last night when I got drunk" stories. I usually don't write reviews unless it's very good or very bad. This was the latter. Won't be going back.

Food is okay. They have some good sandwiches and pizzas. The wasbai slaw that comes with the sandwiches is a nice touch. They have happy hour all day on Sunday which is great. The food on the HH list isn't anything special but all of the beers are only $3.

Food is OK... service is OK... But what really got us was the douchey crowd. Would recommend it to other douches. That's about it.

We went there for the first time. It was absolutely delicious! The drinks are premeium and generous. There are lots of beers on tap and in bottles. The pizzas are gourmet, and the salads generous, and very tasty. Service was great! We were so pleasantly surprised! This will be a go to for our date nights. Happy Hour all day on Sundays. Highly recommend!

Convenient pub located under is restaurant upstairs. Inside you will find nice exposed brick walls, a peek-a-boo window view into their brewery and maybe some extra seating options if the restaurant/bar upstairs is crowded. Nice low key atmosphere.

I am SO disappointed with the renovations to this place. Ever since they added the full bar, the atmosphere has changed considerably. This used to be a place focused on good brew and good food. Now, it's just another bar. Also, the service has gone considerably down hill. Awhile back, it was slow and the waiter was not very nice. Later on, the waitstaff kicked out my friend who brought her 2-month old in, for about an hour, for my birthday party, and she had just driven up from Seattle. So we went to The Hub instead, and we had a much better experience there. All in all, I don't enjoy going to The Harmon Tap Room anymore, and will be taking my business to The Parkway from now on.

This is a great place for a quick bite to eat and to grab a few beers right from the brewery. When I was there, they were pouring: an IPA, Porter, Blonde, Pumpkin, Pale, Brown, ESB, Amber, Imperial Amber, Winter Ale. We had the chicken quesadilla and it rocked. They seating up front was a bit small but looked like a rustic brewery yet appeared clean. You've got some windows in the back of the bar that lead into the brewery. There were some larger banquet rooms in the back and looked like a nice karaoke setup. If you are looking for more of a restaurant, head up to the Hub as it's a better view and more accommodating to families. If you are here just for the beer and to chat with the bartenders, this is a good spot.

The Harmon empire is continually expanding! First time at the Taproom, though I've frequented the Brewery and Hub when I lived in Tacoma. The Taproom main area is small and was crowded and busy on Friday night. There were only two bartenders and you have to order at the bar. I got the taco salad, which was excellent with the right blend of meat, toppings and lettuce. The thousand island dressing wasn't good so I avoided that, and the taco salad still tasted just fine. I couldn't keep my hands off of my friend's nachos, and that is definitely what I'll be having the next time I'm there. They were out of two of their seasonal ales, which was disappointing - creamsicle and pumpkin spice ale. I went with the blonde, one of my old-time faves and it was satisfying! Wish I had gotten a pint, and not a schooner size.

The food is great, very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. The beer garden was fun when we were there and the quality of food was top notch and the wait time wasn't bad at all. We're heading in tomorrow morning!

Harmons has decent food at decent prices but the service is sketchy at best. We waited 90 minutes to get our food. It was busy but you should have the staff to serve the people in your restaurant without making excuses. We will not be back anytime soon, as I like to eat dinner before 9 pm.

Super cool place to grab a quick bite and a beer. I was in a wedding this weekend and this was the perfect place for the wedding party to stop in and relax when we had some down time. I got the pale ale and split a cajun chicken quesadilla. The beer I did not like at all. I gave it to my buddy. It was so citrus-y to me, I just could even tolerate it. I drank about all of an inch of it before giving it up. The food was decent. I was starving enough that it didn't really matter what it was. But it was bar food. I wish it came with some guac or pico even sour cream - but it did?! really????

The Harmon Brewery i like you. Solid beers and solid appetizer food. The atmosphere is still a little cold b/c it feels as though it is bare just as if they placed the room in next to a fermeting berrel... oh wait tht is what a brewery is... hense the name. Over all great place to come just to catch up for a drink or some eats. They also have 2 pool tables to play and blow sometime.

Food and beer are very, very good. I had the Roasted Chicken Salad: great! Service? There was none. Each time I wanted to order something, I had to wave down one of the 4 wait staff when I wanted to order... And I was sitting at the bar. I used a Living Social coupon and the male manager treated me like a leper. Good food. Shitty service

Harmon was a conpletely random stop on our Portland-Seattle Brewery tour. We had no intention of driving into Tacoma but my boyfriend mentioned this place so off we went. Out of all the breweries we had so far visited, this one zipped to the top of our list. Being a hop head in the hop belt I had been truly dissapointed with the IPAs....that all changed at Harmon. We did the seasonal flight, which was exceptional, as well as their flagship flight. Out of all the beer samples, I think there were only about three we did not care all that much for. After a while we noticed the $5 happy hour menu and decided to try the nachos and ceasar salad. They both hit the spot and were a good bang for the buck. By the time we left we were full of beer, food, three 22 oz bottles, and a growler. I would highly recommend this place to anybody wandering through or anybody in the area who is reading this review and has yet to try Harmon.

My husband and I LOVE the taproom. I would have given them 5 stars but their menus is lacking and their waitstaff can be hit or miss. This is our go-to place when we just want to get out and have a beer and a snack, they have all the Harmon flagships and a few different rotating seasonals. Nicole is by far the best server in the place, if you see her when you walk in you're golden. A few of the others seem to be preoccupied with chatting among their-selves and looking bored behind the bar. As far as their food items go, the nachos are truly amazing, the Hummus platter is good and Taproom Philly is very good also. Anything outside of this I don't suggest. They have a 5 dollar pizza on happy hour, but if you want pizza I suggest going upstairs to the HUB. They have much better (but horrible service!). All in all I really love the atmosphere here, most of the servers know us and are always happy to see us come in, if they changed their menu a bit they'd be doing perfect.

Rolled on in just in time to catch a happy hour deal. When I say deal, I'm not kidding. I'm not sure if it's every happy hour, or just the Sunday happy hour, but I certainly enjoyed the half price pizza I scored. Their special of the day (a chicken, bacon, onion, and white sauce kind of deal) had some kinks to be worked out (it was a real watery), but when it costs $6 for more than enough food for two people's dinner... it's really not much of a complaint. Stop by and check out the gameroom, sit on the comfy furniture, sink a cold beer and indulge in some good cheap eats.

Not much to say hear about service because never really experienced it but the massive nacho selection they have on deck it to die for. I recommended the chicken but make sure to ask for "extra" chicken. Meat seems to get over looked compared to other toppings

The menu has something for everyone and the food is pretty good. I would give the food, alone 4 stars. Service is notoriously bad, although we had good experiences on two recent visits. Minus 1-2 stars for the beer though. Oh, it TASTES fine... but they keep it flat. When I asked about this they said the brewer just prefers a lower carbonation. Um. Ok. Weird. So, just be forewarned.

This review is a 1 star mixed with a 5 star: 1 Star: Had this female of a dog waitress who was just completely rude and unfriendly. First, I lost my credit card. I had to resort to change from my car to pay for my bill. I had $3 in quarters and $2 in dimes, neatly stacked to make it easy, and I was going to exchange it for some cash (as I was leaving later and didn't want to just throw it all down at once). Maybe it's 6 to 1 half dozen the other. But the chic Tiare says, "I don't have time for that crap right now" and walks away. Excuse me, but am I not the customer? Then when I get my check it was basically just handed to me. No gesture of thanks or what have you. 5 Star: The waiter during the day and cook were extremely helpful in getting me hooked up outside with my laptop and power source. Brought my dog water outside, etc. They totally changed a shitty day to a good day. Big Props.

For a while they were trying to pull a hip nightlife thing but they've returned to their former state and I'm happy to remove my old-man "this place isn't what it used to be" review.

I give 5 stars for the Service. I got cesar salad- It just didnt taste like cesar and it was warm Buffalo Blue Cheese Pizza- during happy hour- Its huge and will feed two people for 5 dollars and its decent. Artichoke dip- Greasy Fries- Aolie's were amazing, fries tasted like they were cooked twice. warm but chewy Restaurant was pretty cool a lot of bike art, bathrooms are clean, service was nice and fast. Food was just not great. Parking was a nightmare at 3pm, Drove around the block and someone pulled out.

I try to visit a brewery every time I travel to a new city, and I love this place. The bartender, Nicole, is awesome. She was super friendly and helped me pick out a beer that is my new favorite. (Try the blond!) She introduced me to a local or two, and the bar patrons were really friendly, too... I actually met someone there from my part of Montana! I didn't try the food, but the beer was excellent. The atmosphere is fine... just like a brewery. :) I will be back here the next time I'm in Tacoma!

This is absolutely the worst meal we have ever had. Fish tacos should actually have fish in them. One taco had a sliver of fish...smaller than an index finger. The other taco contained a piece of fish about a half an inch longer....lots of cabbage though. The fish in the fish and chips was so over cooked that the fish inside the panco coating had almost disappeared. And, watch what you order during Happy Hour. The Viognier wine which is right below the Chardonnay on the menu....is not a Happy Hour wine. shame on me for not asking.....shame on them for not telling! The only reason this has a one star rating is because there is no way to give a negative rating.

Looks like a cool place to play pool (two tables in the back), or watch a game while getting a microbrew (flat screens and beer garden). But the appetizers don't compete with Varsity Grill or Matador. The owner here needs to take note that their nachos are about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of their competition.

A bit of a disappointment. Looked at reviews for Harmon Brewery and was super excited to try their beer and Mount Rainer Nachos. Well after being foolishly confused we ended up at the Tap Room and not the restaurant. I had no idea that there were two Harmon Brewery locations within a 3 mile radius. Really confusing if you ask me. Arrived at the tap room not knowing I was at the wrong location, order a beer, the Mt Rainer nachos and took a seat out on their outside patio, which I also found out to be NON-Pet friendly. Another disappointment. The patio was nice and had corn hole which was fun to play while we waited. The nachos came out and we instantly realized something wasn't right. The nachos looked nothing like the photos from the reviews we looked at and were just a pile of chips with cheese and jalapeno's. After looking back on Yelp we realized we were at the wrong location. Not stoked on the Taproom but still interested in trying the Restaurant next time we are traveling through.

I don't make it out to Tacoma much, so this was definitely a new site for me. However, it's located parallel to one of the main streets in downtown Tacoma, so it's not that bad to locate. The establishment is very clean and fairly open. There are a couple of flat screen TVs which mainly show sports. The eating area is well lit from the natural light and is right in front of the brew factory past the glass windows. The pizzas we ordered were very good. We had about 8 people in our party, so we ordered the Brewhouse Special, the BBQ chicken, and a custom pizza with sausage and black olives. I noticed they have a small "kick" in their sauce on all the pizzas, which was probably cayenne pepper or something. I do recommend the Brewhouse Special pizza. In the back room there are a couple of pool tables, a pinball machine, and the Golden Tee video game (I was sad they didn't have something like Buck Hunter). It's a nice place to just chill with your pint and pie, while watching sports on the TVs hanging above. If you haven't been, definitely head down to Tacoma to check it out.

Here I am, the designated friend to find a 5 o'clock happy hour in Tacoma and none of our usual spots seemed good enough [hotel murano, crown, stanley's, matador, etc.] It was probably the last time a large group of us were going to get to hang out, before we all departed t-town, so we were thinking Pacific Grill could be that special place - it just can't accommodate a large crowd! So, as I sped across town at 4:47 just to see if maybe Pacific Grill would work, already knowing it wouldn't, I drove past the new-ish Harmon Tap Room and thought, hmmmm..... I quickly swung in, chatted with two awesome servers about their happy hour, and they easily told me all about it and were excited for our group. Score! This was before I even knew that wine was half off on Thursdays [ladies choice] and that they have delicious, HUGE, $5 fish tacos during happy hour, or a game room, with two pool tables and spacious room to sit and play. I was so surprised! As I'm an "eh" fan of the Harmon and an even less fan of the Hub, this places rocks! Now I hope no one reads this so I can keep the fish tacos all to myself. Yum!

Tacoma finally gets an awesome outdoor beer garden and I have no idea why more people aren't crowding this place. It had a simple but quality pub menu with excellent food. It's a great place for groups and has a pool table and pinball in the back. The staff knows their beers and they even stock limited edtion reserves there. The key to this place is the outdoor seating, and NOTHING BEATS HAVING A COLD BEER IN THE SUN!. When I used to live in Queens, NY I frequented the Astoria Beer gardens where it was always packed in the summer with people spending the day drinking, talking an even play bar/board games outside. There are only so many sunny days out here in Tacoma, go to the Tap Room while the weather is beautiful!
