Had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised! I recommend the Mexican roll and teriyaki chicken and honey chicken combo ! Very good. Price is a little on the high side.

Inside of this place is adorable. Gyoza and the washington roll were both good, but one is fried and one is covered in sauces. When I ate the nigiri, the fish was tasteless and not good, I'm not even hard to please, most nigiri gets me moaning. So I won't come here again.

The Mexican roll was delicious. The Gyoza and cream cheese wonton were good. Overall the service was fast and friendly.

The food here is wonderful and tasty. The flavors are light and don't feel as if they are soaked in oils. The place looks a little old but the service and food make up for it. Our server was super sweet and unfortunetly I forgot her name.

It might be the slowest service you will ever receive. Customer service is horrible. The waitstaff standing in the kitchen eating while orders set up in the window waiting to be taken out for up to 10 minutes. The restaurants Decour is something a 12-year-old could do better. Oh and even though the soups are all the same price be per parent for help on earth if you want to substitute one soup for another. They will not do it. They will demand that you pay full price for the other soup. And if you do not want soup you will substitute for nothing else. Such a lunch disappointment. There are quite a few great restaurants close by I suggest that you try one of them. Bunch of goobers!

Eat there infrequently these days. Last trip may have been last. Wasabi had zero kick. Only resemblance to what I expected was that it was green. Teriyaki is okay, but don't know there is anything else I would order.

Best sushi around. Live in Seattle and we don't even get that good of sushi for being so close to the water. Chinese/ Teriyaki is americanized but what food isnt these days? Atmosphere is awesome for being in the valley. I have ALWAYS had great service from staff and managers here. Not sure what a place like this is doing in a craphole like sunnyside but more power to them! Priced well and you get filling portions. If you get a chance sit at the sushi bar for a truly amazing experience. This place goes above and beyond to make you feel like a guest.

I drove in from Richland, WA on Mother's Day with my daughter. Just wanted to go for an afternoon drive and be away from the Tri-Cities for an afternoon. Wasn't sure what I wanted to eat, but glad to have found Sakura. The sushi chefs were very kind and accomodating, the waitresses attentive and checking in every so often to make sure things were going nicely. I received a nice surprise from one of the sushi chefs, a beautiful sliced orange arrangement with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Beautiful!! What a sweet touch to a delicious Mother's Day lunch. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was comfortable. Definitely recommending this place!

Sakura has a mind boggling array of menu choices. Everything from sashimi to Mongolian beef to fish and chips. It is about as good as you would expect too, considering. When you're cooking everything in the known Asian world it isn't all going to be spectacular. Although I'm not sure fish and chips counts as Asian. I think they mostly cook a lot of teriyaki. They do get points for pulling off passable sashimi in the middle of the desert though. But, they also lose points for being perpetually understaffed; with less than helpful and generally bored looking managers.

great food! Had the cali roll, cucumber roll, salmon skin roll, miso soup, udon soup. All was delicious. Ok, environment. lanters for lighting, but they didnt match (some had clouds on them, yuck). Tables were sticky (plain tables and puffy metal church type chairs, which were hideous). First we googled this place which took us to the wrong place (they need to fix that online) we were from out of town visiting for the state champs highschool xc. long story short, we found it by calling. we asked the server for a simple cali roll because we were hungry and we could eat that while we decide on what else to order (long day of driving and running). after she took others orders sitting around us, she took our order (still no cali roll). Food comes to guests that were seated after us (still no roll). 40 min later (just before we were going to walk out) all of our rolls come out at the same time but no miso soup I ordered. My boyfriend had a hair in his soup but we chose not to complain. after finishing over half the meal she asks if everything is ok, and I brought it to her attention that I never received the miso i ordered but I didn't have time to eat it now (we needed to get on the road for a 5 hour drive home), so I asked for it to-go (which that was her fault, it should have been comped). After that it was another 40 mins and we got fed up waiting for the check and went to the man standing at the register. we went on a saturday, they were busy for one sushi chief to handle but the manager? that was standing around should have been taking phone calls or walking around asking if everyone was satisfied. Or hire another chief and hostess for the weekend. I know out is a small town but these are small changes that would help ratings. And you guys are hands down better than that china buffet down the street, I immediately turned and walked out of there.

The waiter was friendly; sadly, that's about the only good thing I can say about this place, and the reason I'm not giving this place 1 star. The teriyaki offerings looked vile from just the pictures; I've learned long ago to avoid the soy sauce marinated meat that's considered teriyaki in the States, so that took a pass. Instead I got some bulgogi, seeing as the chefs were apparently Korean. Apparently that train of thought did not work well, as what came out looked more like beef fajitas or a badly made stirfry than anything close to bulgogi. I can borderline tolerate the large cut carrots that were in the mix; or the number of green vegetables. The salty sauce (bulgogi sauce is more sweet than super-salty) and thick chewy meat I can't accept, especially when they are trying to charge double the 'teriyaki' offerings. Rice shaped like it was scooped from an ice cream scoop only added insult to injury. Only recommended per other reviewers if you're looking for truly Americanized asian foods. More power to you if that's your thing.

I was so excited to finally find a place in the valley with good bento and sushi. I've eaten here maybe 10 times? in the last 4-5 months. I usually either get the bento box or go the whole way and just order a huge order of sushi and rolls if I'm with the family. The service has always been great and they always took good care of me and my 2 year old daughter when we come in together (and she loves the Salmon Roe which usually is interesting to watch anyway). I think you'll find the bento and sushi/rolls are as good or better than what you would expect in any major city (makes sense since the chef is from Tacoma and I think he commutes sometimes) I also had a few really unique rolls here of the fried variety. They are "heavy" but very tasty - ask for one. I've seen traffic pick up in here since they opened and it looks like the business will be around for awhile (for which I am very glad). Go here without any reservations or concerns. Sushi/Sashimi is fresh, tastes great, good staff, good rolls, good bento. I eat a fair amount of Sushi around the country in places like Miami, LA, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, etc. this place stacks up just fine. (I also like Subs N Jean down in Tri-Cities for rolls)

This restaurant is just ok. Service was good. I came for lunch and liked the prices and the ease of ordering a combo that had many elements. Miso soup was just ok and didn't have the rich flavor I've experienced elsewhere. The teriyaki chicken was quite good, but the tuna sashimi I ordered as a side dish looked like it had been sitting around a while and didn't seem very cold; I hesitated about eating the sashimi but did so anyway. The salad and sushi that came in the bento box were also so so. Maybe I'm picky because I live in LA where the standard is high for Japanese food. Having said that, I will probably return next time in Sunnyside because it's ok and is better than almost all the other restaurants I have tried in town. I won't order sashimi again though.
