MY BEST OF BRUNCH SPOKANE Open EVERYDAY (On your day off take your Grandma here!) I am a big fan of Yards Bruncheon. I have a little bit of an obsession with Yards actually. Ask my whole family- and they will assume that I want to go to Yards if I suggest breakfast. The conversation goes like this... "Hey Mom, want to go out for breakfast?" "Oh, so you want to go to Yards?" Yards is easy to like because they have a ton of variety on the menu and they do it all well. I can highly recommend the caramelized banana pancakes, the kale salad and the coffee selection. They are highly kid and baby friendly. **And if you want to snag a morning cocktail they have a huge selection.

With a yelp check in you get a free fine cup of coffee made by one of our good ol' roasters, the roast house. I ordered a bacon waffle which was divine!!! It came with warm maple syrup and whipped butter with pecans or something. Lovely breakfast, fair prices, clean diner atmosphere in a hip part of town. And on a sunny day to top it off. I recommend checking out Yards.

I had the Roasted Cured Tomato & Avocado Omelet and my husband had the Grilled Asparagus Omelet. While both were very good we preferred the Tomato/Avocado. . . The Goat cheese made it so creamy and delicious. The coffee too was very good! We like to try new places and this one did not disappoint

The breakfast poutine is life changing! Their breakfast cocktails are also wonderful. The service is speedy and that combined with the ambiance makes you feel like you're in an old school diner! The wait gets really out of hand, which is my ONLY reservation about giving this kicky spot five stars!

Great modern diner feel, menu looks delicious. I got the breakfast poutine and hubs got the chicken fried NY strip. Both were great and filling! Went there Sunday morning around 9 and the wait was about 10mins for 2 people. The place filled up quickly after that. We sat In the very back. Our server wasn't the most friendly, he was just average, not horrible but not excellent. Some of the other servers seemed pretty nice though. Hostess was very nice as were the people behind the coffee counter. Prices were good. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu! What a great brunch place for Spokane, reminds us of the places we had back in Seattle. Kendall Yards is quite the hip spot! Update: 4/14/15 went back for brunch again, this time our server was awesome! Food was great! Definitely our fave brunch spot in town!

I had the huckleberry pancakes. YUM!! So...very..good.. I liked the menu selection. Truly something for everyone. Service was good. It does get loud, as the place fills. There was a little wait time for the food, not too bad, they were starting to get really busy as we got closer to 9:00am. I will be back!

Had a late brunch here before leaving town. Got a huckleberry mimosa and it was delicious! All of the food was awesome (turducken sliders for the win!) and the service was great. Little, but nice patio outside. Definitely recommended!

Great atmosphere! Super friendly staff. Great suggestions. I tried the Breakfast Poutine per the recommendation by two servers. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My buddy tried the Ham & Cheese Omelette and asked for tomato and the server asked if he wanted a smoked tomato or regular. It was a large slice in the center and a great accent flavor! Food took awhile to arrive considering they weren't that busy. But the taste and quality was worth the wait. Besides franks diner this will be the main place I brings friends and guests for breakfast now.

We absolutely loved this place! I had the grilled asparagus omelet which was very fresh and tasty - could serve two people. I also tried the huckleberry pancakes, as recommended by another "yelper", they were amazing! My hubby had plain buttermilk pancakes and he said they were the best pancakes he's had in a while (that's not a shabby compliment coming from him as we are from the northeast and travel extensively worldwide)! The service was fast and attentive. Great ambience - bright, open and airy. Just perfect for a cozy breakfast for two or for a friends get together.

My wife and I have been here a couple times now and each time the food has been excellent! I say the food because our first experience here with the waiter was just okay. Our waiter this second time around was great and is the reason I would tip more. It has a modern diner feel. I had the the country fried steak and most recently the chicken and waffles. The chicken is cooked well and not dried out (I love the jalapeño with their syrup)! We will definitely keep going here to try the different dishes they offer.

  • Rachae B.

Where to begin?!.. The Mexicana coffee is to die for. Good quality food with a variety of options outside of the traditional breakfast favorites. We will definitely be making this a regular stop for breakfast!

  • Nick B.

Okay, so I finally went back. Huge improvements to food and service. Our group of 6 was seated quickly, and food was great quality and served quickly. Even the huckleberry pancakes were much better. The only disappointment was the chocolate milkshake: The correct way to make a milkshake is with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup; if you make it with chocolate ice cream and milk, you just end up with watered down chocolate ice cream. But everything else was really good!

Creative brunch food served everyday! What's not to like about that? The Yards is yet another example of Spokane's ever-growing hip factor. You can eat well in this town, and cheaply too. The Yards has the retro diner decor with a modern (but thoroughly comforting) brunch menu available anytime they're open. So, whether it's 10am or 3pm you could have a stack of cinnamon bun pancakes, or chicken and waffles, or smoked tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, for example. They cover both breakfast & lunch bases, with lots of brunchiness in between. Health freaks will find plenty on the soup & salad menu too! Loved my asparagus, bacon, and candied sunflower seed salad. Far from a greasy spoon, The Yards shares the same chef as Wandering Table next door. So you get the same quality & creativity, but you could show up in your pajamas here (I mean, I don't recommend it, but it's brunch food afterall). Casual, gourmet & affordable... now that's a tall order.

I really wanted to like this place, but sadly my first (and quite possibly my last) experience here wasn't the best. My husband and I arrived and wrote our names on the wait list. We knew it would be a wait, but we figured with so many people in line, we were bound to have a great breakfast. It took about 25 minutes for us to be seated. Yards Bruncheon is not a quiet restaurant, so be prepared for noise. Anyways, we looked over our menus for a few minutes before our server returned and my husband ordered an orange juice while I ordered a huckleberry soda. The soda was lightly huckleberry flavored, not overwhelmingly sugary or fruity. We waited about another 15 minutes for our server to return for us to order our food. My husband ordered the breakfast fajitas and I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes. I checked in with Yelp and saw the free coffee offer, which I brought up to the server. He said he didn't know if he could honor it because he had never seen it before and had to ask someone else about it. He made me feel like I was trying to steal from them because he would look at my phone, then leave, return, ask to see my phone again, then leave and finally he said that they will honor it after one more look. We had the joy of being seated near the kitchen where the food was placed as it was ready. Some plates would sit for quite some time before making their way to their intended customer, which was a little disappointing, especially when I could see my helpless pancakes sitting there. Surprisingly, my husband's food made it to the table before mine, despite the fact that I was staring at it for the past 5 minutes. As expected, when it finally made it to me, my pancakes were no longer hot. My husband's plate was hot, but some of his potatoes were still raw in the middle. I excitedly cut into my pancakes, expecting cinnamony goodness, but ended up with disappointment instead. The only portion of the pancakes that had cinnamon was a half dollar sized amount at the very center. Maybe it was an off day, but either way, I was hoping to have a better experience.

I badly wish that I had encountered a 5 star experience. My first experience was better than my last one. Given yes, I understand that places have off days, but recently when I went in the food lacked consistency. It simply didn't taste as good as the time previous. I ordered huckleberry pancakes and they tasted really off. The pancakes were doughy and didn't appear cooked all the way. Service was slow and seemed like their was a lack of communication amongst the workers. I will still give them another shot because I do believe they have potential.

This is our first trip to The Yards. I really enjoyed the variety and creativity of the menu (although a bit hard to read). My wife ordered Breakfast Poutine. Wow. We were both blown away by the size, presentation, and overall awesomeness of the dish. I ordered the Beet Burger to try something new. It was also fantastic. You can see they are working on their service process and routines, as drink service was a little slow. We will definitely be back to the Yards for the Poutine and to try something else new! I have made it a mission to come back and order the deviled eggs and BLToad in the hole

  • Angela G.

Tried this out for the first time and can't wait to come back! My only criticism is that service seems a little disorganized. That said, the staff is friendly and the food is fantastic! I had the breakfast poutine. Fries, gravy, bacon, cheese, and eggs--soooo goood. I only ate a 1/3 of it because the portion was huge, but it is so worth the calories. Husband had the roasted beet burger, which is actually all roasted beet and even I liked it (I can't stand beets normally). Fun decor and casual atmosphere, tasteful colors and no loud music. I sound old but I just don't like loud music when I eat. Can't wait to come back.

  • Susie K.

Great food!! Fresh ingredients! We had the chorizo and eggs tortillas, waffles with berry and whipped cream, and the chicken duck turkey sliders. All of which were amazing! Not a huge amount of food but it was done perfectly! Would definitely come here again!

  • Jeannine B.

Best Duck sliders around! Service and Food is top notch.

  • Chris D.

The one thing that Spokane does well is breakfast, and Yards has that comfortable diner feel that fits in perfectly. The staff was extremely polite and friendly, while the food was top notch and well priced. I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while, but didn't have the opportunity until today. I wasn't in the breakfast mood when I showed up but the lunch choices gave me more than enough options, and although I didn't order any, I was surprised by the beer & drink selection. I went for the tur-duc-en sliders with garlic fries and was completely satisfied. They were exactly what I was looking for; a light but savory meal that didn't leave me feeling bloated or break the bank. This place is a great addition to the breakfast scene and I will be back.

  • John C.

Get there early unless you like to wait. Food was outstanding. I still think they are trying to adapt to the magnitude of folks that come here but Mara and I hit this place and a two thumbs up. She had the Veggie Benedict and I had the chicken and waffles. She said 'delightful' and the lady sitting next to us took one look and ordered one herself. What can I say about the chix and waffles? Cluck, cluck, yum!

    (4)
  • Stella W.

I'm pretty happy with the breakfast at Yards. It's been difficult to find a good breakfast in Spokane. So far everything from savory to sweet has been solid and fresh.

    (4)
  • Kate P.

Delicious food options, I did wait a while after placing my order (20 minutes for biscuits and gravy) and they were out of my first choice for brunch - but I did come in late on a Sunday.

    (4)
  • Lawrence M.

Great coffee shop with some superb oddities (poutine) and uneven service. The food is very good, plentiful and reasonable and the selection of dishes truly original.

    (4)
  • Heather H.

I have eaten here twice and can't wait to go back. I love that they serve roast house coffee and the banana pancakes (I ordered them both times) are delicious. I did nibble on my friend's plate to try other things. They don't do substitutions and the indoor seating seems congested and weird. Otherwise, yay!

    (5)
  • Rob A.

This place is great. Sorry for the 4 stars but this is my first time here so I will reserve a 5th star when I become a regular. Great coffe and Latte' choices. Food looked and tasted great. Will definitely be back.

  • Mark D.

Our go to brunch spot. Great atmosphere, fantastic coffee, friendly and efficient staff, and great diner-style food with interesting twists. Great burgers, traditional breakfast fare, and innovative rotating menu items all keep us coming back. A great part of the Spokane food scene!

    (5)
  • Colin H.

Cool place. They accommodate for things that they don't have on the menu even if they have never heard of it. Delicious!

    (4)
  • Ryan S.

Awesome setup, reminds me of a diner with a hipster flare. Had a German pancake which was out of this world. Service was awesome as was the ambiance. The bill is probably $5-10 more than what you would normally play for similar fare downtown (i.e. Frank's Diner), however you have to pay to play when in Kendall Yards.

    (5)
  • Tiffany Y.

Yards is adorable, and in a newer area of town across the street from the river. We loved it. We had the deviled eggs, tacos, and corned beef hash. The deviled eggs were MAGICAL! You had me at bacon and maple syrup. The tacos were fabulous as well, but the hash was less than awesome. I will say, their coffee is FANTASTIC!! We drink decaf, and even that was the highest quality cup of jo we've had in a long time. I also splurged and had a lemonaide and berry mimosa that was delightful. We all got a taste of my daughter's green smoothie, and that was delicious as well. The service was so great, too! Our waitress was attentive, helpful, and super friendly. Awesome breakfast - we'll be back.

  • Natalie B.

I love Yards and have frequented this place since I first heard of it last year. Although the food is amazing (and I will keep going back for that) the service seems to have gone downhill. I feel that there may not be enough servers for the amount of customers that are always there, and that may be why. Never experienced any rudeness from anyone. Just long waits for food, servers slow to refill coffee and drinks, and at times just seem a bit inattentive and rushed. However they are still always pleasant and the food is delicious.

  • Crystal R.

The food was great but I have to knock off a few stars for the service I received upon my visit. We had 4 people and requested to be seated in a booth, not to be seated until at least 45 minutes later. This was only after we reminded the hostess several times that there were booths open and we were still waiting.

  • Jenni R.

I have been eagerly anticipating the chance to check this place out and it exceeded my high expectation! I love brunch and it is great to have a place to go all week!! The menu is extensive and full of great options. I had the huckleberry pancakes and they were fluffy, fresh, and cooked perfect! The Eggs Benedict was also excellent and the egg was poached perfect! The service was also amazing and our waitress was attentive, patient, and gave great suggestions! It is a cute design and has great outdoor space. Also a free large parking lot! It is a great addition to the already cool Kendall Yards! Now I need to try the WanderingTable!

Driving though Spokane on a Monday morning so we stopped in for breakfast. I asked for cold brew, they were out. So, I settled on an americano. When it came time to order my entree, I ordered corned beef hash and was told they were out. I ended up with the petite breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast) and my boyfriend ordered the breakfast fajitas. Both were very good. Yards has a refreshed diner feel. We were welcomed upon arriving but would rate service average. Would have given four stars if it weren't for being out of two menu items.

  • Shonita R.

Was told about this place from a friend of mine. This little up and coming area is great! I ordered off the breakfast menu and it was great! Cant remember what i had as I'm writing this a week late, but everything seemed tasty! Definitely should check out for yourself!

  • Michael W.

Food is amazing, we ordered 7 different types of meals and all of them impressed. Our server Michelle was very energetic and helpful. It took a while to get seated but overall it was a great experience and would definitely come back.

  • Angela P.

Blown away! Super cute and inviting place. I was a brand-new customer, yet I was treated like a favorite regular. Every staff member was sweet and polite, but not too over bearing. I had a latte that was to die for. I ordered the roasted avocado-tomato omelet with walnuts and goat cheese to eat. It was the best omelet I have ever had in my life! I ordered a side of bacon and it was perfect! I can't wait to bring my husband back here with me! Best brunch place in the US!

  • Andrew W.

Stopped by with my friend and food lover Andy Brown on a Saturday at 9am. Bloody Marie's were even better than last time. They added asparagus!!! I had Chicken and Waffles for 12.99. It was delicious. Portion wasn't huge but I still couldn't finish it. Very tasty and loved the jalapeños on the side. Service was excellent although they were slammed! Food was a little slow but to be expected with the number of people that were there.

    (5)
  • Amy V.

Friendly staff. Delish coffee. Like the casual ambiance. Tasty food. Huge portions. Totally shareable plate sizes. We will be back next time we are in spokane!

    (5)
  • Hannah N.

Service here isn't bad, but a little slow and disorganized. They prefer to let waiting customers stand rather than sit at open tables which I thought was odd. Might need more staff to spread the customer service around. We spent a lot of time waiting, so don't plan on having a quick meal. Otherwise very friendly and the food is GREAT! I had the petite breakfast and ate all of it and felt perfectly fill. My best friend got the breakfast fajita and orders it every time. Food is way good

  • Bela B.

Caramelized banana pancakes [the BEST (gourmet) pancakes I have ever had in my life to date], crunchy top to the pancake, ball of delicious butter, with a side of Orange glaze syrup (seriously, get this, it will change your life), roasted squash omelet with goat cheese, berry cobbler, daily quiche and cinnamon roll pancake. Did I eat all of this by myself, you ask? Maybe. Just kidding. My best friend was there, too. We like to eat. The decor is bright and welcoming, very clean and customer service was EXCELLENT. So glad our friend recommended this gem of a restaurant to us. We'll be back again to commit gluttonous acts.

  • Kelsey W.

This place was super delicious! Lots of different mimosa specials, we tried 3 different one, all delicious! I had chicken and waffles, which were delicious. My husband had pancakes that were also yummy! It was also pretty inexpensive which is always a plus for brunch!

  • Alyssa A.

I've been here twice now and the food blew me away both times. The bacon and maple waffle is SINFULLY delicious. The ice cream scoop's worth of buttery pecan goodness on top of the waffle is the perfect accompaniment to the bacon studded waffle. I could barely finish it, but I just HAD.TO . It was soooo good. My mouth is watering as I reminisce. I also tried the yogurt brulee. Think creme brulee for breakfast. Make sure when digging in that you get the toasted brown sugar topping along with the greek yogurt and fruit. Perfection. Also, the goat cheese omelet. Order it. If I can critique anything it would be the potatoes...the first time I was served they were cold (but our waiter replaced them right away when I mentioned it and then comped us on the bill) and the second time they were still not quite as warm as I'd like and yet a little too crisp around the edges. In its early days the Yards Bruncheon struggled a little on the service side but I can assure you that the current staff are ah-mazing. When I went in for lunch the place was completely packed and yet our orders were taken in a timely manner, food came out at a reasonable pace and our coffee and water glasses were kept filled. They know their stuff and they are doing an excellent job training any newbies. I fully expect the Yards Bruncheon to become a fixture in the community and I will be back. In fact, if I can figure out how to move within walking distance I may not ever truly leave.

Yummy yummy in my tummy! Been here twice and loved both meals! Great service and reasonable prices!! A must for brunch or breakfast!

  • Charly W.

This place is so cute and airy! The coffee was delish and service was very prompt. I had the cured tomato & avocado omelette and thoroughly enjoyed it. The potatoes were decent but I didn't think it mattered since I couldn't stop eating the omelette! I can't wait to visit again!

    (5)
  • Jon S.

Chorizo and egg tacos are delicious!! Wait staff are great, will be back next time I'm in town!

  • Ian C.

Checked this out, looked like a good mid-day breakfast bet. I generally liked the menu, and I went for the garbanzo bean burger and the squash soup, which were both very tasty. My daughter had buttermilk pancakes. Service was ok, but delivery was slow for what we got. The place is SO LOUD, though. Even half full, the noise was bothersome, and as it filled up with the lunch crowd, it got harder and harder to talk or hear. That's a bummer, I won't go back.

    (2)
  • Matthew D.

Good breakfast, decent service. I really like the menu and the items are all very popular, I just wish everyone working was a little nicer.

    (3)
  • Tiffany V.

Food was fresh and they served actual orange juice, which I miss from living in Florida. They accommodated my allergies with happiness, and my two year old was happy, but pancakes and syrup and not are hard sell :) we were blinded by the light (I hope you sang that out loud) as the sun came up at hight noon. The whole restaurant was actually. We felt like ants under a looking glass. Small price to pay for yummy eats.

    (4)
  • Madison B.

The atmosphere is clean and very comfortable. The food is good but pretty average, as is the service. For what you get the prices are overestimated.

    (3)
  • Richard W.

We had the huckleberry pancakes and the breakfast poutine. Good food and service. Sounds like and smells like a breakfast place. Very good and we will be back.

  • Brett M.

I tried the Chicken and Waffles with jalapeños, the fish sandwich, the Reuben, the shrimp Po' Boy and the New York strip French Dip. All were extremely good, but the chicken and waffles made me cry a little and will haunt my dreams... I want to eat that shit every day!! As a tip, if they are busy, you have to sign yourself in... Some folks weren't getting that and got pissy because they were expecting to get seated. Anyway, f them, the food was WELL worth the wait, and the service was pretty damn good too. This place is a really great get for Spokane and I highly recommend it! I'm off to dream sweet dreams of chicken and waffles now:)

  • Cameron G.

Breakfast this morning was great. Split the breakfast nachos with my wife. Awesome service.

    (5)
  • Tim S.

I liked the look of the place right off. Bright, clean, nice happy people. BUT, have you ever watched your food bake under the keep-warm lights while 4 or 5 waiters, cooks, and buddies gab for 5....even 10 minutes? My hash with easy-over eggs were finally served...completely hard-baked. My wife's chicken & waffle combo was way beyond horrible! We were extremely disappointed. I will try once more...it must have just been a bad day?

    (3)
  • Judith B.

Overpriced, service is horrible, food is good, breakfast is best.

    (2)
  • Todd C.

The menu has a variety of choices. The chicken and waffles were great and the pastrami Ruben style sandwich was excellent. The fishwich was awesome and I like that there are tater tots as a side option. We washed our eats down with blood marys, the mix was great, but they were in need of more vodka for sure. Long wait to get in, but worth it.

    (4)
  • Susan L.

Absolutely delicious! This is our first time here and the food was incredible. Many unique items on the menu and many using squash and nuts. We had the Breakfast Fajitas and the chorizo was flavorful without being too spicy. The Roasted Avocado with cured Tomatoes Omelet was full of flavor and loaded with avocados. The three of us also shared the Yogurt Brûlée which was rich, delicious and a nice balance of creamy and crunchy. We will be back. Thank you to the servers and the owners!!!

    (5)
  • Ashley F.

The Yards is the perfect spot for brunch. They have a great menu of items. The portions are huge so don't be shy about splitting a plate. Make sure you come here early; it is always packed.

    (4)
  • K. M.

Great and fun family atmosphere! Well worth the wait (we waited an hour) and the chicken and waffles are amazing! Excellent service. When some kids at a nearby table spilled their drink the waiter was kind and cleaned it up in a flash. The cocktails rocked (hubby had the Bloody Mary and I had a grapefruit mimosa). The chorizo and egg tacos were delicious and the eggs Benedict were awesome. A family of four can eat for under $50. We would definitely eat here again!

  • Zaq M.

Alright. Here's the deal. Get the chicken and waffles. Substitute the typical plain waffle with maple bacon waffles. Rejoice. Now, realize that the addition of slaw and fresh, cut jalapeño sides are amazing. Pour on the maple syrup to fill in all those lonely waffle holes, gently distribute the jalapeño shreds, then dump over the slaw, and you've got this crazy hot/sweet/savory/tart perfection. Finally, nothing beats dry tasteless chicken like Spokantucky moist and juicy fried chicken. If I wasn't already full I'd eat this again right now. This has been, hands down, the single most surprising brunch experience of mine in Spokane, to date. Food was not too heavy, not too light, and very tasty. The interior is quaint, looking like the movie set representation of a 1950's diner. There were a fair amount of people when I visited and this actually added to the diner ambiance. This is my first time and I can't wait to try another dish, although, in pretty sure I've already had the best one they offer. PS, the mimosa is fairly decent. Try a flavored one.

  • Wally P.

Very good place, just nothing quite outstanding about it. The drinks are a fair deal at $5, but the bloody mary is nothing to write home about. The chicken and waffles I had were good, but again, pretty ordinary. The service was great, although our poor server seemed to be covering the whole restaurant (good job!). The best thing I tasted, and most unique, was the banana pancake. The caramelized glaze was a great touch. However, just like when I make them, the bananas were all in the center of the cake. All in all, I will skip this place next time I am in town. However, if I lived in the area, I would definitely not mind stopping in every once in a while.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon for a meal. Had one of their delicious champagne and Pama mimosas while I waited for friends. It was late in the afternoon and I hadn't eaten, but the rest of my party had not arrived. The server gladly brought me toast and some of their amazing raspberry jam. Don't know if they make it in house or buy it, but it tastes like my Gram's jam. Our breakfast was fantastic. My friend's quiche was served at room temperature perfect. Crust was flaky and the eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked. My omelet was tasty as well. I was curious about the Benedict, as people have said that they don't like it, so I asked for a little side of their hollandaise sauce. It was delicious! If you're looking for run of the mill, pre-packaged, boring, tasteless hollandaise sauce, you won't find it here! The "sour" is lemon juice. Authentic hollandaise sauce is made from egg yolk, butter, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and salt. It doesn't hot hold well, so most restaurants won't use it and they can't make the good stuff fast enough to order. There is definitely a big difference in taste between the pre-packaged stuff and the real deal. To sum it up... Great food. Great cocktail. Great jam. Great hollandaise. Totally reasonable prices. Thanks for everything! We'll be back!

You have to police your spot on the wait list or they will skip you and never call your name again. They marked us MIA and we stood there an extra 25 minutes. The waffles were served cold and soggy, and they missed my butter. I got 4 small tiny pieces of chicken, nothing like the photos on yelp. This place needs work.

  • Jim S.

I enjoyed this place very much. Kind of an interesting vibe there. You check in and write your name on a clipboard; when your name is called they just point you to your table, no wasted motion in actually accompanying you to the table. Not a big deal, just interesting. The silverware is certainly not your normal diner flatware either. The food I found interesting and quite tasty. I ordered the Breakfast Poutine which may be a derivation of the French Canadian version since there is melted cheese rather than cheese curds and the gravy was more of a country gravy but in any event it was damn good. Couldn't finish it all either. Our party also tried eggs Benedict, eggs bacon and sausage and a pastrami sandwich. All of which were very well received. The prices were fair and the service was prompt. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely return the next time I'm in Spokane.

Pastrami-witch...the brunch burger.... The Bloody Mary...wow. Just wow. Just make sure and beat the church crowd on Sundays.

I always enjoy my visits here. Great breakfast and taste in music. It's uplifting for me. Jacqueline, one of the servers, is my favorite. She always has a smile and provides awesome service :0)

Best breakfast/brunch in Spokane! Great food. The service can be a bit slow at times and the weekends are always packed but the food is always worth it.

Great breakfast spot. The corned beef hash was delicious - none of that canned crap. The huckleberry pancakes were yummy. The Caesars went down well. And the mimosas were tasty. Get here early (before 9) on Sunday or plan to wait outside.

Stopped by while wating for my daughter-in-law. Was amazed with the roasted avacado omlet. Latte was served in a real cup and was good. Service was exceptional. The menu is contemporary and varied, with great pricing. If you haven't tried it you have missed a good thing!

My friend and I ordered off the lunch menu which may have been why the food was so bad. There was strange mustard on everything. It took a long time to get our sandwiches and drinks despite the many employees who were standing around talking to each other. We both felt as if we were somehow in their way and not at all welcome there.

I've been here several times and the food is never disappointing. They serve some great drip coffee and all the servers I have had serve with a great attitude and I have always left with a smile on my face. Great place for kids aswell! They have seats and they accommodate for all ages. They have outside seating that is gorgeous, nice view of the trail and scenery, as well as being located by a great icecream place to go afterwards. Honestly one of the best breakfast places I've been too.

We were very excited to try this place. We had a lengthy wait to be seated even though the back of the resturant was empty? Service was slow. Coffee and water cups sat empty before waving at one of the servers who seemed to be more interested in talking to the female cook. I ordered the breakfast fajitas. The menu said it came with asparagus. Apparently they decided to substitute with chunks of what the server said was tomato? It looked like chunks of lemon. I was amazed that you could order a dish with onions, chorizo and jalapeno slices on the side and it was really bland. Is the new hipster thing to not add salt? My wife had the BNG and expressed the same observation. It was really bland. Salt and Pepper really make a difference.

Amazing food!!! My son and I came here in Friday and had to come back on Sunday! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff! Chorizo n' Egg Tacos are amazing! Love the Chicken and Waffles even better! You will not be disappointed!

Came in on a October Sunday morning around 10:00am and were expecting a wait. It looked very crowded outside when we drove by and we turned around ready to leave dissapointed and the crowd had shrank so we parked and waited only about 20 minutes. I was excited about the Chicken and Waffles and it was so worth the wait for. Hubby got the breakfast fajitas and they also were very good. The service was quick and the a Bloody Mary's were very very good. We both enjoyed ourselves and will eat here again soon.

We were greeted promptly, seated ourselves, and were able to get a table quickly. The ambiance is 50's Diner Style AND VERY NEAT & CLEAN!!! Our waiter, Tommy, was friendly & welcoming. I had the Breakfast Poutine, with scrambled eggs instead of the sunny side up eggs that the menu describes it with. I'd rather the Canadian Bacon in it weren't candied, but I get how it would be preferred that way by others. We enjoyed our meals & time at The Yards Bruncheon and can't wait to come back!!!

I was in town for a day and Yelp led me here. It was worth it. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes and it felt like heaven in my mouth. It melted in my mouth or it felt like it. The area was very cute and the venue itself was well kept and very pleasant. Too bad I live in another state because I will be dreaming about these pancakes forever. Good service too; they were very attentive.

So had a nice comment by the owner on my review, and I appreciate that they are willing to hear what people have to stay and continue to improve. Fair enough, the wife wanted the beet burger again so we decided to go back for lunch! I was happy to walk in and see that is wasn't so crowded as prior breakfast, so I knew the service would be better. We were promptly seated and the wife ordered the beet burger and tots, and I went this time for their "Reuben" sandwich. Everyone was friendly so I had high hopes for a better service. And I even spied the owner behind the counter. First issue, our food came up to the pass. And you see it sitting there at the pass, in front of everyone. If the you are going to see your food come up, I think it is reasonable to make sure the food is delivered quickly and hot.....Why because it is right there! Everyone can see it! I watched them put it up. And then watched our waiter pass it by three times. Who also watched the waiter go by three times.... hmmm the owner. I even made eye contact with the waiter....like hey our food is up! Please bring it over.... nothing.....sigh..... I guess they really don't want to bring you hot food. Well after pass three the food came. The beet burger was excellent as our prior experience so seriously 4 stars for that very nice. Again the tots were fried nice with not one grain of salt.... How can you fry a potato product and add no salt? I didn't understand this the first time, and don't understand it now.... nice fry, bland. The Reuben sandwich was constructed nicely and had a decent presentation. It wasn't overstuffed as many are. My biggest issue was the meat was just bland as all get out. Sauce, bread, kraut all nice....meat had zero flavor. So I was kinda bumbed. I will definitely go to the park in for my next Reuben. So Yards this was my 3rd time back. Thank you for your response and doing absolutely nothing to improve! I can literally think of no reason to return. Sadly, wanting to be so good....yet so mediocre it hurts. three strikes, I am out of this place for good.

First off I have to say that the yards has changed my mind on waiting for breakfast! I walk by here every Saturday and Sunday morning but always talk my wife out of going in cause it's so busy. Today she talked me into braving the wait and let me tell you it was worth the wait! After 20 min we were sat and everything was exceptional. I had the chicken and waffles while my wife got the biscuits and gravy, both were the best I have ever had. Service was fast and friendly and the decor was trendy and comfortable. We now have a new go to spot for brunch. Thanks yards!

By far the best and most delicious eggs Benedict in the city( short of my kitchen ofc). Real classic vinegar based hollandaise is pretty much not a thing in good ol spokompton. The location is nice and convenient, and the patio has a great view. I cant wait to return this saturday :)

All you had to do was say you couldn't handle a large group one of the 3 times my wife called before we showed up. Why lead her on, let us make plans with all those people and then passive aggressively try to get us to not stay. One bit of honest communication and it would have been no harm, no foul, instead my wife's birthday brunch was ruined. They CANNOT handle groups.

So happy to have such a great new option for brunch at an affordable price right downtown! The food was excellent, service could have been better, but overall we had a really good experience and will be back. My wife's bacon waffle with pecan butter was amazing, but I was very pleased with my traditional breakfast too. And I couldn't help but drool over all the other delicious plates that went by which we'll have to try next time. One con: hipsters. Lots and lots of hipsters.

Fabulous in every way. Had the meatloaf...not your mamma's. Good beer selection, full bar and deserts. The best mix of 5' diner and next century bistro. We'll be back.

Yes it is true that The Yards has excellent food, however; the wait for a table is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that the staff doesn't communicate that to their customers. The staff works very slow at clearing off the tables and has no urgency filling up the empty seats. Customers wait and wonder, "why can't we sit at that open table, or that one over there?" I have experienced this every time I have frequented this establishment so I believe that this is what to expect if I am ever to return. I also have never have noticed the staff apologizing for their poor time management and frankly that is rude. It's frustrating and as good as the food is the wait is not worth it. I think if they hired a host/hostess to keep customers informed and offer water or coffee while they wait that would be a good idea and also get a buss person to help clear tables this would also help.

The menu had so many options I wanted to try, but i ended up with the Banana pancakes, my dad got the breakfast poutine, and my mom had the breakfast fajitas. All of us were happy with our meals and said we'd like to come back another time to try some of the more 'lunch-like' options which are available all day. Very friendly waitress, even with the morning breakfast rush around 10. The menu changes seasonally so this will definitely be a place to come back to.

Bright and airy diner feel. Service was friendly and efficient. I had a goat cheese omelet that was very good. The potatoes were a bit burned and blah compared to the rest of the food. Can't wait to give it a 2nd visit.

I am really dissapointed in this place. We arrived with about 3 other tables being full. After looking at the menu I decided against the avocado omelet as it was spelled avacado. I ordered what sounded good-the asparagus omelet. it was supposed to be whipped brie, asparagus and macadamia nuts. The flavor combo was weird and had huge globs of cheese. The potatos were either burnt or undercooked and greasy. The servers were just standing around and orders were piling up in the window. I was served a dubious looking latte. I took a few drinks but the taste was off. As it settled it was obvious that the almond milk was spoiled. I told the waitress and asked for a diet pepsi. When the bill came she had charged me for a large latte not a small. I asked for it to be taken off the bill and she was super snotty. She came back and replaced that charge with a charge for the soda. I was shocked that she charged me to replace a spoiled drink. She did not comment on my plate of food that was remaining. Now am home several hours later and sick. Thanks for nothing.

Clearly, there is a secret rule that any business moving into this neighborhood must be the absolute best at whatever they set out to do. e.g. Indaba and Central Food are a couple of the early pioneers. We are looking forward to Veraci and Brain Freeze as well. ...BUT, nobody told me that there was going to be an amazing brunch diner opening up in the Yards!! And who wouldn't love to be able to acquire some brunch on each and every of the seven days of the week?! Folks!, brunch is not just for Sundays anymore! I mean, who decided that our calender week would have an arbitrary seven days? (don't answer that) My recent visit to Yards Bruncheon would suggest that Tuesday also loves it some brunch. I shall now advocate that ALL of the days of our week be renamed "Brunchday!"! The experience: Our group feasted upon, and fell in love with: Bloody Mary (x2) Chorizo & Egg Tacos Eggs Benedict Short Ribs Service: Awesome. Bugs to work out because it is a new place? NOPE! They got it all right, just right, and they know wtf they are doing. Go there, but only if you have good taste. Thanks!

Low-key, quality spot. Espresso & coffee drinks, smoothies, various cocktails and a tempting menu at reasonable prices. I got a half salad: arugula, walnuts, mixed berries and chèvre in a delicious homemade vinaigrette, and am looking forward to trying other menu items on another visit.

Lunch was fantastic. The BLT was darn good. BLT on steroids! I search for excellent Reuben sandwiches . I was not disappointed with the Pastrami 'which. So yummy. Our waitress was a delight. Michelle's service attitude was only exceeded by her beautiful smile.

I have been here multiple times and it just seems to get better each time. I've tired most of the breakfast menu. The chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy and the huckleberry pancakes are my favorites. The huckleberry pancakes come with a huckleberry maple syrup and it is SO good. The service has always been great and pretty speedy. I will definitely continue to come here for brunch.

My daughter get together every Friday morning for breakfast, so we are always looking for something new and different. We found it here, in spades. We both ordered the Breakfast Poutine. OMG. It was so delicious. We had a wait of about 20 minutes for a table, but well worth it. The coffee was also exceptional. My only fear is that when we return, and we will return, I'll order the Poutine again instead of trying something new. Maybe I'll get an order to go. It reheats nicely.

BLT with a fried egg in their homemade baguette and tater tots....can you say YUM!? Kendall Yards has definitely up't the auntie with this brunch spot! I wish our server asked if we've been in before so i didn't have to pester for details, but all in all the food and atmosphere were fantastic! Cannot wait to try their walk up smoothie bar on a hot day or their coffee which sounds delicious. I will definitely be back!

I have been to yards a few times now, I really enjoy it. The service has been stellar everytime. I ordered the BL Toad in a hole sandwich and it was out of this world! The sourdough rocked, the tomatoes appeared to be oven roasted and chilled. The egg was perfectly cooked. It was accompanied with their curry carrot soup, the yogurt garnish balances this superb side nicely. I love the atmosphere. Best brunch in Spokane. I will definitely returning.

Food is pretty good, but there are serious flow and service response issues. Specifically, the whole coffee refilling situation makes no sense. When we went this week, the restaurant was half full, we ordered food and coffee and then waited 10 minutes for coffee to come.....had to remind the waiter and then when we needed refills it took far too long. They make coffee in these small carafes and then make a big deal of its presentation. I couldn't care less....make a big pot and have someone whose job it is to keep coffee available and filled...this is brunch after all. This is not an "artisinal" coffee shop. Second thing, the table allocation for the waiters makes no sense....the place is abuzz with waiters flitting all over the restaurant constantly making it seem like they either have tables scattered around inefficiently, or their layout necessitates many back and forth trips. Either way, it is very distracting and a hazard for new guests coming in. Brunch should be a little more graceful, and your wait staff shouldn't have to shuttlecock back and forth all the time. A bussboy who also keeps coffee going would free up the waiters to actually be attentive, take orders and do any kind of follow-up and relationship building. Our food sat in the pass from the kitchen for several minutes before our waiter saw it because he spent an inordinate amount of time at the coffee bar putting together cups of coffee on a tray from those small carafes...we're not in Paris, I just need coffee...now. The food won't change your life but it is pretty good for Spokane. And the parking situation makes this place worth going to.

We have been here 4 times now and have enjoyed the food every time. I have stuck with breakfast items, but others in my party have tried their sandwiches and enjoyed them as well. My favorite items are the corned beef hash, which uses really good, smoked corned beef with country potatoes, and the breakfast poutine. Heaven on a plate! They have food you aren't going to find anywhere else in Spokane, and the quality and quantity are both great.

We went here last Sunday for brunch at 11:40 AM. We seated ourselves to a table inside as all of the tables outside were full. We were met by a waiter who brought us water and then came back for our drinks. We then ordered our food. After a while we noticed that it was getting late and we still did not have our food. We noticed that three of our orders were sitting on the table next to the chef waiting for our waiter, who disappeared. We pondered whether we should go up and take our meals. We waited 15 minutes and finally our waiter came with the food and a wrong order. He brought corn beef hash and it should have been huckleberry pancakes (he did bring this out later). Another one of us ordered two extra eggs scrambled and never got it. He had to wait for this. I had the full breakfast, which was luke warm by the time I got it and cold at the end. My wife had the burger. It was luke warm and the fries were soggy. The waiter did apologize and took the pancakes off the bill. For $50, I could have bought enough eggs for a month and watched football while eating a hot breakfast. I doubt that I will be back. My wife is more forgiving. There are far too many good breakfast places to allow this level of incompetence in Spokane.

First time to Bruncheon we were there for lunch. It wasn't too crowded and we sat ourselves..we did have to finally flag down a server after being ignored for several minutes but once we did get someone's attention she was great and attentive. Surprisingly big menu and drink menu too! Lots of tasty sounding options. Had a Bloody Mary (quite good) and the pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was big and flavorful, not a deli type pastrami but still yummy. Definitely coming back. And to respond to some of the other reviews I felt the prices were very fair for the quality of the food.

This place has as many pro's as it does con's. I was very delighted to see such a unique menu with plenty of great things to choose from at decent prices. Lots of staff and our table was checked on often. But this place is LOUD, so loud it is very hard to have a conversation with others at the same table. My main negative was my meal. I ordered the eggs benedict, the others at my table ordered the english breakfast and the goat cheese squash omelette. Their meals were actually pretty good. But I would definitely not ever recommend the benedict here. Super weird and funky tasting, not in a good way. Very sour and harsh; I could not pinpoint what the taste was. The rest of the table had some and also hated it. I found it surprising for it to be so bad as the rest of the dishes were good. Gotta get the toast and jam though, super super tasty. I would be back again, I'll just steer clear of the bene.

Holy cow, this place was amazing! I had the omelet with goat cheese and walnuts, and even as a non breakfast person, I was blown away. Delicious bread (home made?) and jam. Definitely going back. The only bad part was that I forgot my leftovers!

I thought my gf and I would have a nice breakfast before she got on the plane, to my surprise, the restaurant forgot Smiles and added staff, I know the field, you needed another server, the bald guy that waited on us was slammed, and not friendly, mostly because he was too busy to think about not being a robot. I asked him about your new place next door and got a half ass answer, the food took orever and the blond gal that was on did let us know someone would be with us soon, which that was fine. I dont expect perfection, but I wasnt feelkng it at all.

My mother and I had breakfast yesterday - each ordering the petite breakfast. Good portions, hot food and eggs cooked the way we ordered. And this was a very reasonable price. However my mother did not order the coffee since it was $3 - since I do not drink coffee I had not noticed that. The atmosphere is nice and the service was great - not intrusive but she took care of our needs. I will definitely be back and try other items such as lunch. Even with the high ceilings it was easy to carry on a conversation. The noise level was better than Central Foods - and I love CF. Easy place for my mother to get into as she uses a walker.

The service was pretty poor but we got there when it was really busy so that is probably why. The food is very good though so I would give it another shot. Maybe when they aren't so busy.

Try the English Muffins for breakfast. Really good. Sauce is slightly tangy and different from the standard breakfast restaurants and not greasy. Service friendly and quick. There is some outside seating, but we've had our fill of super hot weather. This place makes Kendall Yards that much better!

  • Lynn M.

The potatoes in the corned beef hash were cold! The server said she would take care of it! Microwaving poached eggs and already over cooked potatoes is not the way to take care of any meal! The yolks were so over cooked, the hash was very dry and it was the most unappetizing plate of food I have ever been served! Will cross this place off our list!

    (1)
  • J I.

While the food is good the service SUCKS! The staff is confused and just cannot seem to get it together. When your order is taken the server disappears and most of the time we have to track them down to get the drinks we have ordered. Trying to get a spoon for coffee or cream is often another chore. The wait time for food is another area that is in great need of improvement. Have eaten at this restaurant four times now and every time it is the same thing with long wait times to receive your order and very poor service. Come on owners you have a great opportunity to make something awesome here - step up your customer service and let your customers know you actually want them to come back because your staff is not making this happen. Hope the service improves on the next visit or we will never return again. Would give four stars for food taste and quality and would give negative stars for service. One star because they have had four opportunities to improve the service and nothing changes.

This is, hands down, my favorite breakfast place in Spokane. I haven't ventured much beyond the Full Breakfast because it's the perfect meal for me. The food is fresh, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I've been to the Yards several times and have had only one negative experience. It was a weekday and was not busy, but we were very rushed by our server. He took away my partner's plate and brought us the bill while I was about halfway through my meal. He came by and asked if I wanted a box while I had food in my mouth, which should have made it obvious I was still eating. It was a bizarre experience, but the Yards still gets a 5-star review from me. One strange experience doesn't ruin the other great experiences I've had there.

Stopped by here for breakfast while in town. The positives: super fun vibe, love the decor, awesome menu variety, GREAT coffee. The negatives: waitress waited until water and coffee were empty before asking if we wanted more instead of just bringing a pitcher or carafe with her, I am a benedict professional so my review will be jaded, but the hollandaise was weird. Seemed egg yolk-less, butter-less, lemon-less. The rest of the menu looked awesome so I will definitely give it another shot when I'm in town again!
