Love the spice level. Have never eaten a bad meal here. The service isn't the best, but the food quality earns them four stars.

I was looking for a Thai place after moving from Seattle (where Thai restaurants are around every corner), and I have to say I'm impressed with Thai Bamboo. I've gotten their dinner combo with the Pad Thai/Red Curry and think it's a great amount of food (plus, appetizers!). I've also tried their cashew chicken, which was pretty yummy. Their food is good enough I even convinced my dad to start eating Thai! Also, watch on GroupOn - they always have a promotion going it seems.

This place is astonishing inside. Sparking stars on the ceiling, cool paneled walls..its a bit cheesy in a Wayne Newton Vegas way. I ordered Larb, a traditional Thai dish...it was fresh, delicious and true...though the waitress forgot the rice I asked for. Speaking of the server, she was beautiful, friendly and told me how well they treat her and what a great " family" it was to work for. I love that. Looks like they have a wide array of drinks and specials.

i have been here a few times and always left wishing i had gone elsewhere. its cool looking with the stars and all but the food is blah and i always leave hungry and wishing it tasted right. i ate thai food a lot in seattle but here in spokane i am having issues. this place doesnt quite cut it. its like.. you know the movie "coming to america" where eddie murphy gets a job in a burger place called mcdowells? its like i wanted to go to mcdonalds but i ended up in mcdowells with a big mick.

This was my first visit at this location--since they moved a block N of their original location. I dropped 50 bucks here, got the sample appetizer plate. So -- this was marginal at best--everything on the sampler is deep fried and although this was the best part of the meal--that isn't saying much. And it's unfortunate that there isn't a sampler plate that includes selections that are healthier. We also ordered a lunch combo--swimming rama and pad thai and rice. Worst ever. The chicken was dried out and tasted like it came from left over satay, the peanut sauce seemed like it was reheated rather than served fresh and the pad thai had very little flavor until I reached the bottom of the dish. Im disappointed as prior to this I've always been a fan of this local restaurant chain.

We've tried a variety of items here and never been disappointed. They don't go as spicy as other Thai restaurants but I'm ok with that. We always get great service and have the nicest waitresses.

We went to this place when they first opened and weren't very happy. THIS TIME WE WENT, was amazing. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. They have many options, but I definitely would suggest the Thai noodles. I will most definitely go back again.

Needed to dine at a place that would meet all our group's dietary needs and thought that Thai Bamboo would suit. Menues and water arrived promptly. Tea ordered and brought quickly to the table. One of our party had a seafood allergy and that was made clear to our waiter. Took half an hour to receive our four orders. Osaka Combo Plate Received steamed white rice instead of the ordered brown/black rice. Waiter brought out replacement of proper rice. #3 Combo Diner forgot to mention needed a substitution for the fried shrimp wonton but server kindly brought out a fresh, non-allergenic set of fried wontons. Phad See Ew Ordered Half fried tofu and Half chicken. Love that they used fresh, wide rice noodles instead of dried. Tofu was gently fried so it was all soft, lacking the firm skin I like. Half the broccolli were still raw. Taste however, was good but pricey for what was served. Swimming Rams, spice level 3 Hardly tasted the heat so hubby had to ask for additional chili sauce. Beef was okay as he's had better elsewhere. The final member of our dining party arrived halfway through the meal but recieved the Pineapple Curry in a timely fashion. The leftovers were worth taking home. One of the friends ordered dessert of Black Sticky Rice Pudding. It took over 20 minutes to arrive. It appeared after he tried to cancel that dish, since by now he felt quite satiated with his dinner. Our waiter apologized and removed the amount from their bill. Speediness was not the word tonight. Wait staff was gracious. Food was okay.

Almost everything here is delicious and gluten free! And whether you're in the bar, patio, or main seating area with its holographic ceiling, you'll enjoy an atmosphere that is a bit different from most of Spokane!

I have no idea what so ever why anyone in Spokane thinks this place sells good Thai food. On the west side a strip mall hole in the wall serves better Asian food than these people. Made the mistake of giving them a second chance today, mostly out of sheer desperation for some real Asian food. Hubby got the pad see ew, really he got boiled chicken chunks and a lasagna sized slab of wide noodle with some, I assume microwaved, vegetables. I got pineapple red curry aka chunks of pineapple core I couldn't actually bite through and maybe 8 pieces of chicken. Please god make some Asian friends and eat at their house before trying to tell anyone that Thai Bamboo is "so good". Moving to Spokane is the worse choice we ever made. Upside we are going to save a ton of money by never eating out at these pitiful excuses of restaurants.

It's a beautiful place...Love the glowing star ceiling... But the food was just not good. The service was slow and it wasn't even busy. We waited awhile before being seated with empty tables all around. The salad was not fresh. We Got our appetizer same time as our food. The portion size was great but Everything was just Blah. The taste was not the best and I forced myself to eat most of it. We paid far too much for what it was worth. We won't be back unfortunately.

    (2)
  • Troy I.

Good service, clean, etc. The food is fair sized portions for the money. Rice is not consistently cooked. Food is rather bland. Just not that tasty and short on sauces. Doesn't compare to Bangkok Thai on the South Hill. But definitely worth going to.

Terrible! Terrible Terrible! Usually I would not leave a bad comment, but this just crossed the line. Came here for dinner on a weekday, sat in the bar area, and waited over 20 min before the waiter even took our order. It wasn't even busy! What was to come was even worse! Our order took over 30 min to arrive. Also one of the dishes we ordered (papaya salad), they were not able to make due to "not fresh ingredients" but didn't bother to let us know until 25 min later, so that dish ended up coming out late! I ordered what was supposedly the favorite dish at the restaurant, Pad Thai. It was by far the worst dish I've ever eaten at any restaurant. The noodles were dry, it was super oily, and lacked flavoring. I'd say thai food from the mall food court would've tasted better! After forcing myself to eat about less than half of the dish I couldn't take it anymore and had to let the waiter know of my disgusting dish. They said they would remake it for me, but ended up throwing the thing away and still charged me for half of the price. So still paid $7 for half the dish which I didnt eat. Would not recommend this place. Please save your money and go somewhere else

Went to Thai Bamboo for the first time tonight. Dinner was awesome. We had the D6 combo plate with a side of noodles. The pad Thai was tasty and the Mongolian beef hit the spot. There was plenty to share for two people. We left stuffed. Only negative thing to say is that for the restaurant being pretty empty service was slow.

  • Kayla D.

I love anything Thai food and love how it looks on the inside but every time I have ever gone there it has never been busy and yet there service takes way to long. Last time we got seated close to where the hostess is at and she had no problem speaking loudly about customer, joking around with the waiters, and being very obnoxious.

  • Rob M.

We came here after a week at the lake, awesome atmosphere and catered well to our kids (8&10). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place if you're vegetarian. We live 6 hours away, otherwise we would definitely return!

The food is good but a lil more pricy. Ambience is beautiful for any date or chill day!!

  • Meili W.

This place is beautiful with a great decors and atmosphere! The food here is pretty good but not the best. They're also a bit pricey. It's great for big groups though since they have lots of seating! But sometimes, there's a long wait in line. I recently ate the Thai Super Bowl here and it was quite yummy! The portion size was perfect. They also have the cutest fortune cookies!

It's beautiful inside!!!! The service was amazing!!!! The food was good. The food tasted even better the next day.

Best pad thai in town and the decor is freaking fabulous. The ceiling of the dining room is to die for. Awesome food and great, friendly service. My favorites are the chicken satay, pad thai, and the swimming ramma.

UPDATE 9.28.2014: Review is from 2.5 years ago. I have not been to the restaurant since the remodel. The order was also for take out, not dine in. I do however stand by my review of the food and have a strong recollection of my experience of the dishes I received. I haven't been here since the remodel, but the times I did order takeout I wasn't really impressed. The pad thai wasn't the greatest, the noodles were dry and the noodles were a little undercooked. The flavor was also off, it wasn't the typical sweet sour savory tamarind fish sauce flavor I am used to. Their stir fry dishes however are good. What put me off was the price honestly, there are better more inexpensive thai places.

    (3)
  • Michael M.

Not the best Pad Thai but everything else we tried was great. Black and brown rice was good and the glass noodles were perfect. I get coconut shrimp everywhere and this was the best I've eaten! The best part was the decor, color changing sky ceilings, Thailand statues, elephants, bamboo covered walls etc. They went the extra mile to set an atmosphere that felt authentic and exotic. Our waitress was a little slow but food came out fast once she got our order. There are four of these, I wish there was one where I live. I truly appreciate restaurants that take the theme all the way with the surroundings. To many great places don't bother and you get no vibe that could enhance the food and experience.

  • Scott M.

Really good food! The service was slow as Christmas, but the ambiance and the food made up for it. I think this would be a fun date night :)

    (4)
  • Dan J.

Thai bamboo has decent food. It is overpriced considering there are other places in the area to get quality food at a lower price. The atmosphere is nice. The service is decent but the menu is a little confusing. The menu doesn't really tell you in English what you are ordering. First time Thai food eaters may not know what "Pad Thai" or "Tom Yum" is. An English description would be nice. Overall it is a pretty good place if you don't mind a large bill for decent food and service.

    (3)
  • Carey A.

I will give them 4 stars since my food wasn't spicy enough! But it was better than any other thai restaurants I've been too. This isu first time in but I will be back to re test the quality! Had the yellow curry which was delicious! Also had spring rolls and pahd sew eh ( not sure if I spelled that right) Everything was to my standards which are very high! Yum! Now to go home and pass out:)

    (4)
  • Jenna B.

Good food and service. I will say I am not the biggest fan of Thai food but Thai bamboo gives you all types of options, and isn't strictly Thai, which is a huge plus for me. I had a cucumber cocktail and it was very refreshing. The combos are a little pricey, but definitely worth it for the amount of food you get!

    (4)
  • Jason S.

As far as thai food goes... it is average, you can do better and definitely do worse. I had the phad thai and panang curry at level 5. The taste would satisfy your basic craving for thai food. The spice level was not close to 5, more like maybe a 3. The atmosphere is nice. The menu does have a vast array of different types of asian cusine from Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Filipino dishes which is good and bad and probably lends to the average nature of the food. You can probably find something that everyone might like but not that they love. Prices seem a bit on the high side but that is more for the atmosphere than the food.

  • Michelle H.

Just finished some amazing red curry with tofu. The perfect amount of spicy! When I arrived the lobby was crowded with people waiting for tables, so I headed to the lounge. Glad I did! I relaxed at the bar while watching the servers hard at work mixing and pouring drinks. The lady who handled my order in-between drink orders was friendly and attentive, checking on me whenever she came by. I'll definitely be back to try another dish - maybe another curry? Yumm!

  • Kristi N.

Popped in after leaving hospital around corner. Didn't expect much but turned out to be quite good. We got drunken noodles and panang curry both 3 stars. Was pretty spicy but not blow out. Has a crazy ceiling that looks like live sky. Recommend this place.

The best Pai Thai I have ever had and their spring rolls are absolutely amazing !!!!!! I love love love this place i eat here all the time and am having it for lunch

The menu is so big I get confused on what I want. This restaurant has grown over the years. Food and service is always good never a disappointment.

Not the best... Not the worst. There's three other places in Spokane in various directions that are hands down better than this place. Not a place a would suggest to people who request my favorite Thai in town. Nice for the midtown location and that's about it. Great service though.

    (3)
  • Lauren J.

The chicken pad thai is delicious! We've only been twice but each time the food was delicious and the service was great! It's definitely some where we will continue to go.

  • Merlin G.

Have been here for lunch 3 or 4 times, when in town for shopping, etc. Yesterday's lunch, like the other times, was very enjoyable. Wasn't busy, service was quick, attentive and friendly. Appreciated the complimentary little cup of soup that came before the meal! Both dishes we ordered were great (General Tao chicken, and cashew chicken). Other times I've had the Larb Salad, which I loved. We always enjoy the slide show of photos of Thailand showing on the back wall, as they make for interesting conversation and remind us of out trips to Southeast Asia.

  • Ruth R.

Recently the service has been lacking. Once seated, it takes a long time to be greeted by our server. Drinks then take another 10 minutes, wrong food has been brought out, when correct food is brought, there is no spice to it. Not a good experience. Used to be our favorite place to eat out at, now we choose elsewhere.

    (2)
  • Carissa B.

Good food but the servers weren't very friendly and it was rather expensive.. Disappointed it wasn't more affordable. Paid $37 for 2 people for dinner

This is the McDonald's of Thai Restaurants in Spokane. The food isn't terrible, but it is no where near the "Best Thai in Spokane" as it is apparently rated yearly. Try them if you haven't had them, but don't kid yourself into thinking it's the best available in Spokane.

    (2)
  • Tammy W.

The food was great My friend had D4 and it was great but not hot hot. We also had D5 it was great but the pad Thai was too sweet for me. I had 320 the Hong Kong noodles with chicken and veggies and I would order it again.

  • Anna P.

Awesome place to go get your Thai fix! It's a shame I only get to come here around once a year though. The drunken noodles (pad kee mow) is my favorite dish, surprised it isn't a popular choice.. I got the pad thai noodles once and they were to sweet for my liking. I've also tried the pad woo sen(?), glass noodle dish and asked for it to be very spicy but it wasn't. The plate also had mushrooms which wasn't in the description, didn't like that very much. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the ceiling is gorgeous! The wait for a server and the food is quite long but I guess that's because they're actually making the dishes and not just reheating a plate. They usually give out a thai fortune cookie at the end of the meal but the last two times I went, there was no cookie. Best thai in Spokane.

    (5)
  • Dawn H.

It all seems to depend on the "mood" of your waiter/waitress! I find that I do not get what I want, No nuts or egg in the phad thai even though you ask for it, and very little meat. If you use a coupon...the dishes you receive are much smaller than if you pay full price. I recommend any other Thai Restaurant even if you have to go out of your way! Will never return, mostly due to the rudeness of my wait staff. Some granted are great but the "managers" of the restaurants really do SUCK.

I recently ventured out to this Thai Bamboo with my friend. I have always been loyal to the Spokane Valley location, but thought I would give this one a shot. This building is insanely cool for one, it has a great atmosphere. The service was really bad compared to the one in the valley. Also, I always get #26 with maximum amount of spicy ness. I ordered the same here and my food was not spicy and the peanut sauce was watery and not as thick as usual. Looks aren't everything and I will continue to go the valley location. I will probably never go to this one again.

  • Samantha R.

My husband and I have frequented several of your locations over the years. Unfortunately we will never be returning after tonight's experience. Being that it is Valentine's Day I thought it would be best if we took a to go order and I placed it quite awhile before we planned on eating. I was told it would be ready in 40 minutes, which would be nice timing as my husband could grab it on his way home from work. My husband waited for a hour and 20 minutes to receive our food from the waitstaff that never bothered to tell us when it would be ready or how much longer he would be standing in the lobby. Yes, that means it took us 2 HOURS to get our order. Had we known it would be taking hours to get our food we would have waited at home until that time or chosen another a restaurant that was better equipped for many customers. While waiting my husband witnessed many take out customers experience ridiculous delay as well in receiving their food. Even seated dining patrons were loudly complaining of not having had their order taken after 40 minutes of waiting or those who were lucky enough to have placed an order were still waiting for food a hour and a half later. Yes. I know today is a holiday. But could you at least try to empathize with your customer? Not a single staff member explained to my husband when our food would be ready. If you asked them to check they would walk into the kitchen and then come back, IGNORE YOU and then speak to each other or patrons who were arriving. Horrible customer service. No thank you. There is other Thai food in town and we won't mind switching. I can forgive a business for being busy but I can't forgive them not caring.

I love their Pad Thai. The food is wonderful and the ambience is excellent. I am never disappointed!

  • Ben J.

Food is not bad. Decor is really nice. We have gone twice for lunch. Not knowing how spicy the food was, the first time we only went with a 2 on the spice level. Not spivey at all. The 2nd time I had a 4 and my wife had the 5. My 4 was not spicy either. I could barely taste the difference between 2 and 4. My wife's 5 had a little kick but I would definitely not call it spicy. It would get 4 stars if they actually put some heat on this food. I'm not a super spicy eater, but come on. My kids could eat the 5.

I love this place!!! They have great food, a beautiful new location, Wonderful ambiance, and the service is spot on. I also recommend their lounge as well for food and drinks. Get the swimming rama for your dinner choice.

Meh. Pad Thai was burned smelling. Nothing we got was that special compared to other joints in town. Nice, clean busy place. Could've been a fluke.

Yeah, this place is tacky. But in a delightful, train-wreck kind of way. I didn't have super high hopes for Thai food in Spokane, as I've got a large selection of places that are pretty darn fantastic in Seattle. My sister and I were in the mood for Thai, and the only place in Deer Park was closed. I Yelped for Thai and decided on this place... In addition to having an Asian buffet, there was fund-raising going on, so it was pretty busy. No problem, though, since I had called the order in ahead of time. I couldn't stop looking at the ceiling. And noticing the reggae blasting from the speakers. The Phad Thai was pretty good. A bit tomato-saucy, but good. Noodles were a bit firm, too, but not uneatable or anything. Crab Rangoons were good. Mmmmm, I love cream cheese. Since I took the food to go, I didn't try the water. *shrugs* But the rice was good! ...Look out for the rope lights and metallic palm trees outside. Heh.

  • Steven T.

Ahhhhhh, they went bollywood on us and screwed up what used to be a decent thai restaurant. Simply put I can no longer recommend them, the food is commercial mass produced Americanized Thai and you can do much much better in spokane.

  • G. M.

I truly don't understand why this place is always so packed. I was craving some Thai food and didn't feel like going out of my way to my favorite place, Our Thai House, and Thai Bamboo was on the way home. I went with pretty pedestrian choices, a combo that included Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken. The Pad Thai was mushy, too sweet and had an odd smoky flavor. The Cashew Chicken was passable, but nothing special and one of the cashews in my dish tasted moldy. The decor is a bit gaudy for my tastes, it has kind of a Thailand meets Vegas vibe to it. Next time I have a craving, I'll spend the extra 15 minutes and drive to my usual place.

  • Adam Z.

UPDATED: The owner called me and apologized for the issue below. They took responsibility, and I will give them another shot. Ate there tonight for the 1st time ever with my family. The Pad Thai was made with (what we later found out be) too much ketchup. Yep, ketchup. Per the waitress... Anyways, it was bad, they made excuses, and still charged us for it. We liked everything else, and would have been back. However, due to this experience, and a $65 meal that turned out to be sub par, we won't be back. Simple customer service, & admitting that something is wrong with your dish, could've saved you a client, and a negative review.

  • Callum S.

The last place I ate Thai food was actually in Asia so I might be grading a little harshly. I just didn't find the food to be outstanding. I mean they have quite a selection, I just wasn't feeling it. And our waitress was a total airhead. She wouldn't write anything down yet she kept getting our orders and drinks wrong. It pisses me off when people do that.

  • Stacy S.

The dining area is cool with a sky and sparkling stars. We ordered: Spring rolls which came with a peanut sauce. They were not fresh, the rice paper was rubbery, the shrimp tasteless, and the tofu discolored. Mongolian broccoli beef with 3* it came out looking great but had NO spice at all and tasted like something sugary from Panda Express. Green Curry with 3* was our favorite tasting although it wasn't as smooth and blended as usual when ordering at other Thai restaurants. The eggplant was very soggy. Seafood with vegetables 2* the seafood was alright. Nothing special. We shared Mango on sweet coconut sticky rice for dessert. It tasted great but the portion size was ridiculously small. Like we were the last of the night so they had to scrape the bottom of the bowl. I will not return.

I was apprehensive about going here, but I love Thai food and had to give it a try. Having been to Thailand and some other very authentic Thai restaurants on the East and West Coasts, I think I know a little bit about the food. We were seated quickly but then had trouble because there was no kids menu. Turns out there is, sort of, you can order off the bar menu and there were plenty of options to choose from, even for my picky eater. Fish and Chips and chicken strips, tacos, nachos, etc. As for the adults, we asked for a recommendation since the menu is so huge, almost too much to choose from. We were given two options. Really? Out of that whole menu the waitress only had two suggestions? We started with the fried tofu and it was not good. I know its Tofu, but it had zero flavor and the dipping sauce had even less. I have had fried tofu in other restaurants and it's been very good. I wouldn't order that again. For dinner I went with one of the two recommendations, the Phad Talay. It was ok, but not nearly enough seafood compared to the veggies. It definitely had the Thai flavors I love. My husband ordered the Korean village dinner and was happy with it. Service from our waitress was lacking. We were delivered our appetizers with no napkins, plates or silverware. We asked for them but they never came. We ended up having to hail someone else down to get them for us. The restaurant wasn't that packed so I'm not sure why she was having such difficulty attending to our table. (We're really not that high maintenance.) Would we go back? Yes. Although, I'll probably try a few other places. The one run by the one woman is next on my list.

Worst thai food I have ever eaten. I got take out and they literally threw all of my food in a box. My pad thai, rice, and curry all mixed together. It looked like throw up and tasted horrible.

Green curry with eggplant is soooo good! Tom yum is not bad as for this town , i always get the #21 Tom yum queo teow , it's so so good! Always friendly service , very cheerful server :) To avoid: Thai superbowl fried rice .. Not my taste :) sorry

So, we went back, this time to the Valley location--the waitress was a sweetheart. I'll give it one more star. We had the Phad Talay and Thai Garlic Delight with beef. They were both pretty good--fresh ingredients with good flavor. We also had the Tom Kha. I've had this at two other restaurants recently so I feel like I can make a good comparison. Unfortunately this this seemed to suffer from the same problem that the green curry did last time. Where are the flavors? Can't taste coconut milk, lime, lemongrass... My husband's comment, "It's insipid." It just tasted like spicy mushroom soup with cilantro.

We came here last night. The food was okay and there were variety of dishes, not just Thai food specifically. I tried one of the noodle soup. It satisfied my hunger! The kids loved the fried spring roll. The decor was impressive. Customer service and staff were great!

So, I ordered green curry and was pleased with Thai bamboo's version, rife with red peppers, eggplant wedges and plenty of basil leaves. The dish had a traditional and wallpapered taste, arriving in a white bowl that offset its mint color beautifully. I chose Chicken because it absorbs the flavors from the milk brilliantly. As is typical, the dish comes served with rice, which I dipped in the spiced coconut milk and when finished, tossed it in with the leftovers for later indulgence. My husband John, ordered Drunken Noodles and was similarly pleased. His dish featured fresh, flat rice noodles, garlic, chili, onions, carrots, bell peppers, broccoli and basil. The noodles were plated and tossed with a brown sauce and served spicy. This dish, too, came well prepared, and flavorful. Try these noodles if you are looking for a departure from Pad Thai and desire more heat. Another appealing noodle dish on the menu was Pad Thai, Red Curry, on the lunch express Combo A We came away from Thai Bamboo feeling full and satisfied. Our lunching experience turned out to be simply delicious. It's exactly what you'd expect from a good Thai restaurant. Although it doesn't have the makings of a legendary joint, it lives up to its in being traditional and flavorful. I'm sure we'll return to Thai Bamboo for another lunch, and dinner. Its reasonable prices and location make it a prudent choice.

The Pad se Lew was really good and flavorful but sadly even though i ordered level 5 Thai spicy, it was tame and mild. Unfortunate. The jasmine fried rice was good as well and had quite a generous portion of meats. Sadly again, not a level 5 Thai spicyness i am used to at other Thai restaurants.

I won't set foot in this establishment again after seeing how they treated an employee there. In subsequent communications with the owner of this company through Yelp, he (Tom B.): 1. Suggested that I not watch Hell's Kitchen, a show where British chef Gordon Ramsay yells at, berates, and humiliates other human beings for the entertainment of American audiences. Apparently owner Tom B. thinks I'm too sensitive to see such things and that the theatrics on this show depict acceptable ways to treat employees in a restaurant. 2. Told an outright lie in his public response to my review. I told him in these communications that I had eaten food from his establishment once since my review because someone else had bought it for a dinner at which I was present. I also told him that had I known the food would come from Thai Bamboo, I would have insisted it come from somewhere else. Tom B. turned this into a ridiculous claim that I must be driving into the parking lot and sending someone else in to order their fabulous Phad Thai. Ketchup anyone? 3. Claimed that staff standing behind his manager (wife) who were smiling (beaming) as I complained about the treatment of their coworker in front of diners and staff must actually have been smiling in "embarrassment" for me and my lack of knowledge of how things work in the restaurant business. 4. Magnanimously offered to remove his posts about me if I would agree to remove all of my posts about Thai Bamboo. During lunch on a Saturday at this restaurant, my meal was constantly disrupted as an employee was being reviewed in front of diners and her co-workers. This happened at a table in the general seating area and within view and earshot of customers and staff. It went on for at least thirty minutes. The person giving the review was loud and apparently prepared to get the most out it. He went over comment form after comment form as he dressed her down for her level of service in front of everyone in the restaurant. I complained about it to one of the staff who came to my table, saying I came to enjoy some Thai food with my Dad, not for what I was hearing and seeing. I asked for the manager. The manager told me that this public spectacle I was hearing was supposed to have happened earlier in the day. That was the end of it. No one visited that table to relay my complaint. This employee review continued through the duration of our meal.. I filled out one of those comment cards myself. I've tried most of the Thai restaurants in Spokane. The food at Thai Bamboo is unremarkable.

There are plenty of good reviews of this place and I'll doubt I'll add much new, but here goes... I actually really like the decor. The changing lighting on the ceiling may make you think you're having a stroke at certain points of your meal, but when you actually look up, it's kinda cool. The food is pretty good. Certainly not the best Thai food in the world, but will definitely satisfy a Thai craving, should you have one. The beer selection is horrible, having only three Asian selections (and two of those are the same brand - San Miguel Light/Dark, with Singha being the only other). The service is quite slow. And the parking. Dear god, the parking. The lot is tiny and laid out extremely poorly, and trying to pull out onto division is taking your life into your own hands.

The ambience is nice, but the food was pretty disappointing. My parents ordered kung pao beef and stir fry seafood- the exact same dish came out with the same sauce- except one had shrimp. The curry was just okay. It had a layer of oil on top.

Im new to the Thai food experience. Unfortunately for them i have been going to another Thai food for over a year in Spokane. So when i tried this place. I was sad when i ordered Pad Thai and this orange thing came out and tasted gross. Service was alright. But i couldn't love anything i ordered or anyone else's who let me try their food at our table. I won't be coming back unless I'm stuck going for a birthday party again...

Food and service were both wonderful. The #27 with chicken and sticky rice was awesome!

Cute place that has like 40 signs that read NO CHECK ACCEPTED. Made me want to whip out my check book and trying with check. All joking aside, the food was "okay". It is pretty overpriced but I'm going to assume that is because they don't have Asian produce readily available in the area so it might cost more for them to import? Regardless, I can feed 2 people for about $15 in Thai Town in Hollywood, so having a $40 lunch was not acceptable.

I think the best Thai places are in Seattle. Though I am not there, you have to make due with what you have where you live sometimes. I think Thai Bamboo and its quality has dropped a little bit since they moved to their elaborately kitschy new place up the street. The Rama Chicken was somewhat watery, the chicken in particular. The peanut sauce was rather bland and I ordered for four stars! The Fresh Spring Rolls were great as was the Thai Iced Tea. I think I would have not given it the extra star had it not been affordable.

First off, I can say that I know "Thai" cuisine A-OK (Ha, from Yelp's 3 stars). My parents were born in Laos and my mother's cooking is amahzing. She makes the best orange/red/whatever curry, papaya salad, pho, etc. but that's for another review. We went in on a whim when my boyfriend chose this last-minute after our friends offered us dinner on them. I am a lady and never turn down free food. The waitress was really sweet but took forever to even get our ordered beverages out to us (a coffee and a glass of some beer). My boyfriend had to go into the kitchen to get our server's attention! Yeah, he's a keeper. This would have (and did) embarrass me otherwise but he works a late night shift and was due to work in less than an hour. Pissing my boyfriend off + pouty face when customers take initiative = bad service Now, if this was on service alone, then my stars would go down to maybe a 1.5 stars but of course, Yelp doesn't offer a half-star rating and I did enjoy their food. #42 Phad Phed (5 stars, please). I was a starvin' Marvin and figured I wouldn't have any leftovers. I was the only one but had a hefty lot for breakfast the next morning.

My green curry was good but my wife's pineapple red curry was great, mine was a little too spicy because it killed me later, but it was good. The place has a nice atmosphere but a little slow service. I ordered chicken Phad Thai for the kids for take home; it was very large but not the best in their eyes. I would definitely return.

Lovely service, beautiful decor HORRIBLE food! My son and I were traveling thru the area on our way back to Seattle on 7/15/12. Since it's one of my son's favorite foods, we drove well out of our way to find a spot. I had a yum gai type salad and he had pad thai. Neither of them had flavor except for SWEET. I litterally had to shake a fair amount of salt onto mine plus ask for the spice tray (which I never do). My son's pad thai tasted like ketchup had been poured on rice noodles.

This is a reliable stop for healthy, reasonably tasty vegan food. I don't crave it and it doesn't excite me but if I'm in the area and need a place to eat Thai Bamboo fills the bill. The service is really friendly, which is nice. EDIT: I've come back here twice since writing my initial review and both times the food was worse than mediocre. It was bland and poorly cooked. I will NOT be returning to this restaurant.

We went on Sunday at the suggestion of a friend. I had the garlic chicken with vegetables and my husband had the green curry. Both arrived super fresh and spicy. I loved my meal so very much and can't wait to go back. Two negatives: They charge for rice during dinner and paying 13 dollars for lunch is really high. However, I would recommend and it will go back. Oh, and it is really clean inside!

I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time I am left wanting more. The food always seems a bit bland and could use more spices and more flavor.

decoration overstimulation is an understatement at thai bamboo... it's a bit cheesy and overkill, but if you can just focus on your food, you'll find it's rather delicious. the pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup were both spicy enough to not need mutliple glasses of water, but keep your taste buds tingling. the main reason i give thai bamboo 4 stars? the service. our server was super sweet and attentive (even rushed to get us some club soda when my hubby was clutzy with his curry sauce).

This is some of the best Thai food around. For anyone who says they need more spice... uh ask for it?? You get to pick how spicy your food is so I'm not sure why this is a complaint. If you like Thai food, this restaurant is GREAT.

When you hear someone say "Thai Bamboo is the best Thai place in Spokane," this is true, but only because it is probably the only known thai restaurant in town. I've noticed their curry dishes are usually better than their noodle dishes. Their phad thai the last time i had it was a bit on the drier side and lacked that certain spice. Their drunken noodles are okay but their meats that accompany their noodle dishes usually are very dry. I've also noticed their spicyness gauge differs between their noodle and curry dishes. A five star noodle dish will most likely be spicier than a five star noodle dish. Their spring rolls and fresh rolls are less than desirable. They come out small and don't have a lot of stuff packed into the rolls. Their price is more expensive than other thai restaurants I've been to in Seattle and the puget sound, running around $11 a plate for dinner before tax. I've tasted better phad thai, but for now, this place will have to do. Their waiter service are friendly, or at least the times I've gone with friends. Because I'm a college student in the area, I've met workers who also attend.

Thai Bamboo is the best Thai restaurant in Spokane. Yes, I am aware that is damnation with faint praise, but let's face it, Division is lined with fast food restaurants and buffets, with the occasional head shop or porn store thrown in to add class to the neighborhood. Back to the review... I am a sucker for curry dishes and I usually get the gaen gai, it is to die for, and if I was reviewing this place on that alone, it would get 5 stars. The reason I am dropping by one star is that not every item on the menu is as good as the curries. Please don't think I am speaking ill of the place, I just have very high standards when it comes to my Thai food. So, with all the above being said... please do try Thai Bamboo, it is worth the trip past Puffin' Glass and XXX movies.

Not bad but not great either. The fresh rolls were poor and the peanut sauce heavy. The vegetables were quite good with just the right amount of spice, oil, and garlic.... Yum. Pad thai, one of the classic Thai dishes was only okay and I would probably not order again if I'm ever back in Spokane. I really wanted to give a better review, but can only muster up a 3 star.

One of my most frequented places. I'm not going to judge this place on if it is "real" thai food or not. All that matters is that its good food. I am a regular there and know the very nice american lady very well. Have never had a problem with the food or the staff. Yes, service is a bit slow, but they are seriously understaffed at times. I say at times because sometimes the place is a ghost town and then BAM! There is a huge rush. Just look around next time, youll see 1 maybe too waitstaff in a packed place. You are not the only one there, stop thinking your water should come every 2 minutes. Their food is awesome, the enviroment is relaxing, their staff is friendly but their is a bit of a wait sometimes.

I was pleasently surprised by this place. I often pass it on the way home, but was a bit put off by the exterior. The parking lot is always packed, so I figured the food must be good and it IS! The interior is decorated nicely with bamboo, plants, a beautiful mural and golden goddess statues in Thai attire. You also hear a small waterfall which is soothing. The colored lights in the window seem to cheapen the overall effect. The service was very prompt and friendly. I got my meal to go. The Thai ice teas were great. Those never get old. I started with the appetizer of fresh rolls...very good. The cilantro is the key to these tasty treats. Great peanut sauce too. My dish was a red curry with shrimp and pineapple. I am not into spicy, and had them limit heat as much as possible. I really enjoyed the dish. The veggies were fresh and shirmps were large and plentiful. Nothing worse than a place that skimps on the shrimps! The jasmine rice is well done too. Any decent Thai place will serve jasmine rice. Regular rice just doesn't compare. My husband had the Tiger beef dish and he really enjoyed it. I'd never seen the black rice before. He loves spicy and always says it's not hot enough. Well, he was very pleased to be grabbing the kleenex with this dish! He said the beef was very good quality and tender. We will surely be going back with visiting guests and enjoying more take out. Great for date night or with family. Nice casual.

The pad thai here is gross and flavorless. The chicken is all the awful parts you don't want to eat. Do yourself a favor and drive all the way out to airway heights for better thai. You won't die if you eat here and the service is good, but the food is just too mediocre.

WOW! Folks in Spokane think this is Thai food. I ordered the fish with green curry sauce. The fish looked almost like a fish stick you get in the freezer section of your local grocer. The green curry was okay but I ordered it 5 star hot but it was not as spicy as you would expect from a five starrer. I thought I would try the sticky rice rather than the standard jasmine. The rice was yellow and crunchy in parts; typically what you find after you've cooked rice and not consumed it for a couple of days. My bf had the house special fried rice that lacked much flavor. Don't even get me started on the wait service. It took 15 minutes to even get water and our drink order (I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they were understaffed). I always like to give places a second chance before I judge, but this place was just awful. It's going to take a long time before I go back for the second tasting and maybe at one of their other locations.

Good Thai food, loved the red curry. Stacks up with your local Thai food in my hometown. The decor was not so good. Wait staff was attentive, water was filled before it was dry, I value that by the way cause I like hot and spicy red curry. The staff actually looked like they were relaxed and that puts me in a chillin mood too. Used yelp to pick this place and was satisfied.

Thai Bamboo is a good restaurant. Good, not great. I felt that the chicken satay was flavorless and too spicy for my liking. I actually dont ever remember having spicy chicken satay. I ordered the chicken pad thai which i felt was too salty however my friend LOVED it but he is also partial to eating very salty foods. The chicken panang was WAY WAY WAY too spicy. I could not even taste the actual curry because the spicyness of the dish was outrageous. Perhaps i ordered the wrong dish but Thai Bamboo is not a restaurant i would refer to my friends if they wanted good Thai Food. The only thing i actually enjoyed was the Thai iced tea, which wasnt the bottled thai tea that some restaurants serve to their guests.
