Syrah "terra Blanca" arch terraces and. Deschutes pinedrops IPA. Those were the drinks we had, we went there the day before we ran Bloomsday! (Yeah we bar hop before Bloomsday, I swear I won't, but then I do) The bar was really cute, lots of people that seemed like college students having a good time. I imagine we hit a pretty big traffic time being on the weekend, let alone Bloomsday weekend. Needless to say the service probably wasn't as fast as it may be usually but it wasn't bad. I don't have much else to add but I'll be back for another round, another day!

5 Stars! Got there about 30minutes before last call. Which was ok I had the Moose Drool beer. Dam that was good! Friendly bartender and I love the atmosphere.

Good service - waitress was friendly and informed. Excellently breaded onion rings and cool crisp cider on tap.

The best beef stroganoff I've ever had!! After 10PM the hamburgers are like half off and great Happy Hour that begins at 4PM

Great vibe, cool drinks, decent bar food. A groups of us spent a couple hours here drinking, eating, and laughing. The fried pickles were delicious!

Take out from Post St Ale House is always fast and the food is great. Dining in is okay. There is always a wait. Servers are friendly and fun.

When we first arrived we were told that part of the section was closed off which was fine so we grabbed the only available table. We sat in the back in a dimly lit room and it waited for approximately 5 to 7 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. We asked to relocate to the next open booth with better lighting. Once she relocated us I discovered that she had not wiped down the booth and table properly, I had slid my dress into some ketchup that was on the booth. However, the manager, or what I thought was the manager was really on top of things and took our order almost 10 minutes before our waitress came back and asked us if we wanted to order. My fettucini alfredo was delicious, my friends fries and best cheeseburger were really scrumptious, we just wish we had a different waitress. :(

Sit in Carly's area she is a superb server that really knows her beers. Another great find in downtown Spokane... While visiting, Spokane we decided to stay in the historic district of the city and see all the historic building and explore the local foods, arts , and culture. I found that my choices for Beer were limited to local & Northwest Brewing. Which I though was cool, until I had to figure out what some of the crazy, fun names of beers actually were. Luckily we found a wonderful server Carly, when we stopped into the Post Street Ale House for Dinner. She could tell me exactly what beer was similar to one that I knew, for instance I like "FAT TIRE" she was able to compare it to "Kilt Lifter" a Seattle beer... Who knew a KILT LIFTER was the same as a FAT TIRE.....:)

Have been here a couple times before. Decided to come for restraint week. Pleasantly surprised. They by far exceeded our expectations. Party of 3 on a Sunday night- no wait. Had choice of shoe of 3 tasters of beer. All were local selections and excellent. Varied from light to dark. I had the Gorgonzola salad. Extremely tasty! Others had the clams and oysters. Wife said clams were exceptional and wishes she would have ordered them instead- they had a little spice. The oysters were enormous. All three of us had the medallions- worth their weight in gold. They melted in your mouth, succulent sauce with a sweet and slightly tangy sauce- did not take away from the taste of the bed but added and exquisite treat. Service was great as always. A bunch of tvs- all crystal clear- I know it is a favorite place of visiting basketball teams who play Gonzaga- have seen a few of them down there. Will likely spend lots of time during ncaa tournament here.

Possibly the worst service I've ever had anywhere. Our food came before our drinks. (20 minutes) luckily the food was great. Our drink order was way off. So sad to see a great place fail. I will always second guess giving them my business now. Sad to see a Spokane classic fail.

This is a nice place to meet up with friends (esp friends who are staying at the Davenport hotels) for a simple dinner and drinks. Here is what I like: 1. The location is in central downtown making it close to the Davenport hotels and Riverfront Mall. It's more casual than the Davenport, but there are still nicely dressed people. If you're traveling to Spokane this would be a place to go if you want to meet locals or other travelers. 2. They have a great selection of beers on tap. Sadly they didn't have any Laughing Dog beer when I was there last, but the bartender was very knowledgeable about local beers and they do rotate the selection of local beers. It's been awhile since I've had a cocktail so I can't comment on those right now. 3.I like the atmosphere. Casual and usually busy ( I like busy places) but the brick walls make it a little cozy too. 4. Prices are good. As far as food goes, it's average imo. If you are looking for excellent food, I wouldn't go here. But if you are looking for a decent meal for a decent price, this fits the bill. Service is usually slow regardless of how busy they are; I'm rarely in hurry so it doesn't bother me but it may bother others.

Not a bad place but nothing to rave about. If you like beer, I don't, then it would seem they have a very large selection of beers. No one takes you to a table, so you have to wander all over the restaurant looking for a suitable table, which is really an annoyance. Once we seated ourselves, the server came fairly quickly. Fish & chips were great and plentiful, and my spouse said the beef dish she had was good. Our food arrived hot and within a reasonable amount of time. The server checked back on us only once, so it took a while to get condiments we wanted. Prices are reasonable, which is great, because this is a good alternative to paying the ridiculously high food prices at the Davenport where we were staying.

Huge selection of micro brews on tap at this downtown pub. It is located inside the Hotel Liss across from the historic Davenport Hotel. The menu offers a variety of food and beverage options, not just the usual pub fare.

  • Daniel W.

Loved the atmosphere and the drinks available. Wasn't a huge fan of the seat yourself requirement, made it a little confusing. But we found seats and had a good dinner. I had the braised beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef was awesome!! The gravy was awesome!! The mashed potatoes were good!! And the veggies were ok (not enough broccoli and too many onions)!! I would recommend this place, the menu looked to have many good items on it.

I stopped in for a late night dinner and sat at the bar. The menu is pretty standard pub fare. I had the Reuben, which was pretty good. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. This place doesn't really seem like a place for a nice dinner out, but for sure a great spot to meet up with friends. Definitely a great place for the business traveler.

My husband and I stopped in for their late night munchies where they have a reduced menu after 10 p.m. Maybe I'm getting too old but the place was LOUD and my voice doesn't carry very well. The atmosphere was nice and I consumed the BEST cheeseburger ever. It was served with matchstick fries (together $5.50) and had a coke ($3.50) -- great meal and a lot of seating. It appears to be a popular place but the downside was that we were in and out because my husband couldn't hear me since it was SO loud. Service was great -- prompt and professional with a laid-back touch (not a bad thing). I'd definitely go again but I might bring a megaphone with me. Great cheeseburger but be prepared for noise...at least Friday night at 10:00 p.m.

Great place to grab a bite and have a local beer. For pub/bar food, it was actually pretty delish. As a vegetarian, my options were limited to one or two choices so fettuccine alfredo it was. I was quite surprised at how great the sauce was. It was rich, creamy and a bit lemony whilst the noodles were al dente. The service was attentive without being over bearing. He was pretty intuitive as to when we needed something and when to come over. I come here for business, stay across the street at The Davenport and I'll absolutely be back.

  • Lynn M.

Excellent halibut and fries. Good downtown location with street parking. Pretty good menu choices with fair pricing. Servers friendly and pretty attentive. Sometime a long wait for a table and not crazy about location of the restrooms so close to eating area in back room. Overall, great place to meet friends or casual date night.

Not good when items on menu not available first wine then food. Should have left. Why is information not current or provided?

I was walking around Spokane and I noticed that this place had some pumpkin beers on tap so I popped in. There were 5 pumpkin beers and a pumpkin cider on tap and I couldn't decide what I wanted so my server brought me a few samples. I settled on the pumpkin cider and it was awesome. I forget my server's name but he was very friendly!

I'm gonna have to give this place a lower rating for the simple reason that the last couple visits I've been getting stalker vibes from one of the line cooks. You know how someone tries to get your attention w/o actually saying anything?? One time dude came out from the kitchen, positioned himself at the end of the bar, and just stared at me until paid my bill and left. I'm not kidding, it was a long time. I ignored it.....whatever. But I didn't come back for awhile (don't eat here every week, but it was weird enough to make me not come back soon as I would've). Then I stopped in for a beer one afternoon. I paid my bill and left, and I noticed when I exited right, I look up and this same guy materialized in the corner (??) of the dining area, peering out at me as I walked by, it was VERY strange. Trust me, this is not my ego talking, I barely comb my hair when I come here, and it's usually midday, and this never happens to me. I like chill places with good beer selections, and the music isn't stupid loud, with decent decor, and customers such as myself who just want to relax in a safe atmosphere. Plenty of people sit at the bar and dine alone, including plenty of women. Sooo manager, I would keep an eye on this person. Do more extensive background checks on your staff b/c this not normal behavior. If you can't relax and enjoy the beer safely, then what's the point. I used to eat here fairly regularly (like once or twice per mth, more during football season), but I won't be back. As far as the food, this is one of those places where you learn after frequent visits, what to order and what not to order. I liked the wings, similar to hooters, they seemed double fried. Apparently the short ribs are popular, however I was very underwhelmed by them. The blackened chicken w/ fettuccini really hits the spot though. Bartender Niki is great.

If you want a happy hour beer... gReat. But after 5:00 when my fav bartender gets off. .. don't bother fur mixed drinks. . Very stingy on the pour.. not that it matters but i guess after 5:00 I wouldn't recommend. . Nice bartender. . But must be all about her hair color then service. . But great food and atmosphere..

    (3)
  • Ian W.

The beer selection was above average, and the service while sitting at the bar was good. The food was just average and the menu had a very limited selection, but I'd be willing to try it again to see if the menu expands and the food is better. The beer and atmosphere are definitely good enough to make a repeat trip.

I just went for beer so this is a beer only review. They had a great selection with lots of guest taps. Great atmosphere, great service and great beer selection. I would definitely go back for a beer!

  • Kristen E.

This place came highly recommended to me, but I have to say, I was extremely disappointed. The service was very poor. Granted, I was there during happy hour, and they were very busy, but there were 3 bartenders, and all 3 decided to concentrate on servicing the one end of the bar. I had to ask to order food, and when my food did come, I had to wait 10 mins for a bartender to venture my way so I could ask for silverware. I ordered the chop chop salad, and that, too, was subpar--mostly lettuce and somewhat small. I did really enjoy the pumpkin beer I tried. I'm not sure if this was just an off night for them, but I think I'll skip it the next time I'm in Spokane.

  • Fred G.

Had lunch there today and the server, Niki, was very attentive. The food came out quickly and I did not need to ask for anything else once it arrived. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The pork was pretty tender, and combined with the barbecue sauce, it was very tasty. I do pulled pork and make my own sauce (13 hours of low and slow with 6-8 hours of smoke), and while this sandwich didn't stack up to my own, it was the best I've had at a restaurant in Spokane. They really should consider a small side of coleslaw to put on the sandwich...it really makes a difference. The shoestring fries were really great - crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. So many places that do shoestring fries give you a pile of limp and greasy potato. All-in-all, really great lunch. I'll have to go back to try the halibut fish and chips, which I panned in a previous review for the portion size of the fish.

Awesome establishment stumbled in by actually being open, the food was delicious, Spicy Black Bean soup was amazing and the tuna melt was great too! Deviled eggs were heavy on the relish taste but to each their own. Fantastic beer selection, and top notch customer service from Emileigh and Joel on a group of 10!

  • Kevin S.

Goes without saying...great beer selection. What was a nice surprise was the quality of the food (rubin, cheeseburger, fried sweet pickles and deviled eggs were kick butt great) Our waitress was 100% on her game and I can't wait to go back again!!!!

Three stars says it all. I don't have anything really to complain about, but I don't have anything to rave about, either. It could be a franchise chain for all I know because I've been in pubs that look just like it. There is simply nothing special about the joint. I've been three times because it convenient and predictable. I've eaten appetizers there three times and it was fine. There was nothing remarkable about the food that makes me remember it. It's a rubber stamp bar. I'm not so much recommending it as I am not recommending against it.

    (3)
  • Don B.

It is what it is, a bar with food. Pub munchies: fried pickles, onion rings, deviled eggs. The only thing you should pick up here is a beer glass. 26 rotating taps with a focus on Washington beers. And always something local and interesting. Plus they keep up with what is available seasonally on tap. If you have never been out of Spokane the bathrooms might be confusing, but you'll figure it out. The staff is always friendly and are there quickly when your glass is empty. Food is well done. Again pub food, not 5 star cuisine. Had a salad which made me feel better while trying a few beers.

    (4)
  • Josh M.

When they get busy, service slows down quite a bit. The food was fine and as to be expected from a pub. Decent beer selection with something for everyone.

I've been to the Ale House several times. For the most part I've had positive experiences. I went this past Friday early evening. Poor service, in that we sat for over ten minutes before even a greeting. Understandable if were busy, but it wasn't. We ordered nachos to share at our table, and the side plates came out dirty to start with. The ground beef tasted like it came from a can. It ended up being the joke at the table for a while. I will give them another run. With all the competition downtown, it's a place I don't have to continue spending my money at.

  • Damian W.

Typical pub-fare and some items that you normally won't see at a restaurant; deviled eggs anyone? A decent selection of beer on tap but smaller than a couple other locations in town, namely Manito Tap House. Overall this is a great spot with decent prices. Bathrooms can be a tad confusing if you haven't been there before. There are four total, all private, along the northwest wall.

  • Karl P.

Dropped in here with my daughter and her girl friend. The bar tender was great. When we inquired about local brews he offered up samples. There were two bar tenders that night. They were both attentive without constantly bothering us. Overall, the place was very clean and friendly. Haven't had their food. But their local beers are great.

  • Gail J.

This is an odd amalgamation of "first date" place, family restaurant, and singles pick up bar. In other words, there's perhaps an identify crisis afoot. My friend and I were in town for a conference so we stepped in for a quick bite. The server was very helpful--even allowing us to order from the after 10pm menu (half price burgers, etc.) a few minutes before the tenth strike of the clock. She logically stated, "When you get it, it'll be about 10pm." I like logic! There appeared to be a good selection of beers on draft. My friend opted for a giant 64 ounce beer that came in a jug and cost about 21 bucks. Given it held 4 pints and came with the souvenir Post Street Ale House amber beer house (this thing was HUGE!), I call that a good deal. The food was above par and what you would expect from a place called, "ale house."

Excellent beer, ok food....I guess it fends on why you com. Wait staff was cheerful, knowledgeable, and prompt. Good place to come

  • Mike G.

I would say this is a great place to grab a beer, but the food is only average at best. I had the beef stroganoff. I was looking forward to a great comfort dish and what I received was more like noodles and sauce. I should say noodles and very bland sauce. My beautiful gal had the halibut fish and chips and it was very marginal. The fish was cut very thin and and breading was not great at all. It appeared as thou this was something they buy frozen and fry. A few improvements on the menu items would go a long way at this place.

    (3)
  • Craig P.

Good food, fast friendly service. Beer selection was a bit to focused on pumpkin ales and stouts. Wedge salad was huge and quite good. Patty melt was good. Fries were great.

    (3)
  • Charles H.

Perhaps the conclusion to draw from other reviews is that this place may simply be inconsistent, but we had a good time here yesterday during happy hour. Paddles with five 4 oz. tastes were only $5! The server said that they had 26 different beers on tap. Something for everyone, so bring your pickiest beer snob! Bringing our kids was no problem, either.

    (4)
  • Kate S.

We ordered the fish 'n chips, which were awful. The fish had the appearance and taste of a frozen fillet...the batter fell off the fish. Everything was cold. Had to ask 2x for the tartar sauce. Gag. Won't go back.

I've been in here once before just for a drink about a year ago. After reading reviews and remembering my one and only trip, I honestly expected I'd be having a 2 or 3 star experience when my wife and I checked it out for the last weekend of Inlander Restaurant Week. Well, I was wrong. I'll agree with some of the other reviewers in that the Post Street has a vaguely corporate/franchise feel to it, but our dinner turned out to be very good and our service was excellent. From the restaurant week menu I chose the whiskey sampler, the fried oysters, and the osso bucco. My wife had a stout (I forget the name), the Gorgonzola salad, and the beef medallions. I enjoyed trying three Washington whiskeys I hadn't had before. My oysters, while not particularly noteworthy came perfectly prepared with a bit of coleslaw and some sort of aioli dipping sauce. Both the slaw and the sauce had great flavor. The dish included four small oysters, which was a great serving size considering they could have cut back on the prix fixe menu. The osso bucco came well prepared and I enjoyed it very much. It had a nice Asian inspired glaze and the bok choy and mixed vegetable slaw suited it very well. I will say the rice had a bit of an institutional quality to it, sort of reminded me of a college dining hall. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't as good as the rest of the plate. My wife liked her salad a great deal, though the portion appeared rather small, which seems an odd place to skimp given the size of my oyster appetizer. Her main course, on the other hand, was probably the best dish on the table. They used good beef and cooked it perfectly medium, to her taste. The potatoes were excellent. Overall we were pleasantly surprised to have such a great dinner given the mid-range reviews of this place and the fact that they offered the menu at the $18 level rather than the $28 level for restaurant week. I would like to end with a compliment to our red-headed server who was very attentive but not at all obtrusive. This evening exceeded my expectations and we now know that the Post Street is a solid, better than average option downtown for those nights when we don't want to step up to a Churchill's level expenditure.

Really like this place. There were 9 of us, tired & hungry from traveling. We sat at this long bar and had fish & chips, Reuben sandwiches, fish tacos, salads, cheeseburgers, blackened ahi pasta, fried calamari, fried mozzarella sticks, chili. All the food looked really fantastic. Not gourmet but good and substantial. Nice beer and wine selection. Not too noisy but fun atmosphere. Would come again!

  • Kip L.

This place is technically a 2.5 but I am rounding down because it has a tourist vibe to it. My understanding is that the Davenport hotel(s) may have an ownership stake in this joint, which only annoys me as it is likely a price boundary to their over zealous fare. My sandwich (reuben) was suitably ooey-gooey but in general, this place errs on the side of grease/salt. In fact the french fries were so salty that it was borderline intolerable. The atmosphere is confusing and tables are placed haphazardly around the pub's dining room. It seems like you are supposed to just watch the side or back of someone else. Sitting in here feels like you are on stage. The menu is out of control. Too many options usually means too much mediocrity. And this place proves the point. One last thing...the beer, well... it's OK from a selection standpoint but the staff wasn't particularly well informed about the details. If the place wasn't named an "ale house" I probably would cut them slack but really, these guys should speak more authoritatively about their fare. If the staff is comprised of people that drink mimosas and/or coors light, it's tough for a beer drinker/hell raiser like me to buy in.

  • Eric W.

Sports bar atmosphere, which I don't really like. A lotta bros. However, the wings are GREAT (though overpriced) and the fries with my hamburger were crisp and thin, as if they had been cooked in new oil. A pretty decent beer selection on tap too.

    (3)
  • Doug S.

Had an awesome dinner last night. Great tasting burgers so big my 19 and 21 year old sons could not finish them. Had three paddles of beer (15 samples total) between one of our sons, my wife mad myself....not a bad beer in the group. I had the fish chips, nice lite tasty batter. FYI can valet park for free at hotel lousy or the davenport for free. The manager is great at making the rounds...not hiding in the back.

    (5)
  • Ryan S.

The fried pickles are delicious. The beer selection is great. The service can be a little slow. But, all in all, I dig this place and have recommended it along with its pickles to bands touring through town.

  • Brodie J.

How this is a go-to eatery still amazes me. This is in a great location. Pretty central in the downtown area. However, their food has never been impressive. I've THREE times had food that was so unbearably salty-I had to send it back (and I looove salt). I will say that their bean soup is delicious as is their cucumber salad. It's a great place for a large group or to grab a few drinks--perhaps dinner should be eaten elsewhere.

My waitress was a shorter blonde girl and she was fantastic. The food was so-so and the beer was great. Decent place to catch a Seahawks game if you happen to be downtown.

CLEANLINESS: The place didnt seem dirty, but i was a little weirded out when i went to the bathroom. The bathroom wasn't spotless, but lets face it what bar bathroom is? And literally right outside the bathroom there are tables to sit and eat. I feel bad for anyone that leaves a smelly situation one night while people i trying to eat. Eww ::gag::. HOTTIES: Some of the waitresses were cute, and i did make good eye contact with a cougar eating dinner with her "husband". AMENITIES: Average bar, nothing fancy. MEAL: Buffalo wings and 2 pitchers of beer. PRICE: Cant remember exact price, but it wasnt expensive maybe 30, 40 bucks. DECOR: Average bar scene, table, chairs, bar. Nothing extravagant. DRESS CODE: None

  • Mike Z.

Reuben was average at best. The rye bread was very soggy, which made eating it very difficult. I have to give props to the sweet potato fries that were very tasty.

No complaints whatsoever: cheap beer with lots of local crafts, typical bar food priced great, friendly and attentive service. What more could a girl want?

  • Patrick L.

Came back a few trips to Spokane later as I'm staying at Hotel Lusso this time rather than the Davenport across the street. Had the Reuben sandwich this time rather than the wings, it was alright. Good for a bar But I wouldn't put this up against any Irish pub or anything. The high point from my previous review still stands, come here for the beer. I was able to get 3 localish IPA's all for $4 a piece. Their beer selection is the best I've seen around the Spokane area in a number of visits.

    (4)
  • Danny L.

Their "proper" dinner menu is a little weak. However, the beer selection is great, and they late night drunk meals are very affordable.

I think we had the calamari and it was terrible. Drinks were overpriced. Seating was discordant.

  • Daniel K.

Pretty uninspired pub fare at this point. We went in for lunch at the noon hour on a week day, and the place was not even half full. The place is surrounded by businesses and hotels, and is located in a city where people love to eat out, and not even near capacity at the noon hour? That tells you all need to know. The beer selection is adequate but hardly great. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the Manito Tap House, but it is what it is. We ordered a reuben and a patty melt; totally ordinary, unmemorable sandwiches, definitely not worth the $30 tab which we ultimately paid (yes, we checked the tab to make sure no phantom charges were there). Service was fine, but nothing special. Perhaps the dinner menu is more engaging, but I certainly won't waste another lunch hour on this joint. Considering that Walt Worthy closed down the excellent Fugazzi restaurant in order to replace with this, I should lop off another star, just because.

This might be a slightly unfair review, but you know about First Impressions, and ours sucked. We had a few hours to kill before leaving Spokane, and though we would kill them with Sunday lunch here. Three servers and four tables comprised the population. We self-seated as directed and waited for a server. And waited. And waited. The table behind us was actively being managed, as was a table in the back, so I know they saw us. Some guy eventually dropped off menus and then took off without asking if we wanted to place a drink order. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, I went and tracked him down and told him what we wanted to drink. He eventually brought it, then left again without asking if we wanted a food order. We finished half the beer before he came back and asked if wanted to order anything. I ordered the check.

Crap. Pure crap. "wings" are dry disgusting nuggets. Sliders are dry. Everything is dry. So so service. Good beer, but who cares? Nice hotel owns a garbage restaurant.

    (2)
  • Jeff S.

The bartender was an ass (tall, red hair) tossing coasters at us, as if we were bothering him. Fortunately, his partner (Vietnamese?) was much more accommodating. Not attentive at all, had to ask for more drinks. Weak management I'm thinking. Go down the street.

Great bar food, timely service, excellent televisions and some cute waitresses always helps. All around a pretty traditional and standard bar, but a great place to watch a game.

It was Calvin L's recent review which spurred me to write: I agree, Post Street Ale House appears to "play" with the bill in order to pad the total. We went for the April 1/2 price food promotion during Happy Hour and they neglected to discount the drinks and food half-off. When this was pointed out, the waitress had the gall to ask whether the orders came in on time - she was undone by her own timestamp on the bill. Even after the bill was corrected for the 1/2 off, she had over-charged for the beers to begin with, charging higher base prices for the beers than what was stated on the menu. Not wanting to quibble and ask for yet another correction, we just paid and decided either to never return or make certain the bill received a thorough inspection before paying. I've heard of this type of practice before with large groups that have been "drinking," but to see it is discouraging. On our end, this visit was just a late lunch - odd. To cap it off, I now feel foolish having tipped on the pre-discount bill. I've subsequently found out Happy Hour isn't the same as coming in w/ a coupon or a gift certificate/card. One simply tips on the Happy Hour pricing. Well.... one bad experience might be enough to say that's it for this place.

Used to go there - never again. They over do the dishwasher 'fluid' so you can't taste the beer for the antiseptic stench coming from the glass. Truly overwhelming / disappointing. I mentioned it to them a couple times and they would rather do it their way. So - Adios. Food and atmosphere are OK - Pub Grub.

Came here for drinks with friends. This place mostly does beer, hence the name, right? However, for us non-beer drinkers, there were a few cocktails on the menu and they will also make anything you ask for. I had the Near Nature Near Perfect drink ($7). Being that the drink is named after Spokane, it was only fitting it also have fresh huckleberries. A guy described the drink as a cranberry vodka with huckleberries. It wasn't terribly strong, I still had all my wits about me after downing the glass. I ended up getting a snack, calamari, too. After 10pm they have late night food specials. $4 for a small basket of tasty calamari with a decent marinara and tartar without the pickles sauce. Good atmosphere, I didn't like how they closed at 11:30. Wtf?! Yes it was a Wednesday, but I was still in the mood to bar hop... Park on the street. Metered parking is free after 7pm!

Be very careful and examine your bill. This restaurant/bar has a tendency to add items to your bill to increase revenues. This happened to me today and she blamed it on her confusion with another customer. This could not happen as the other customer was her mother.

The "best cheeseburger ever" is seriously the best cheeseburger ever.

Great late night hangout! I love their beer selection; the rotating taps are very nice to see, especially living in Arizona I get to try a lot of local beers that I would never see down there. The staff has been very friendly every time I've been in, and knowledgeable about the beer; willing to make suggestions as well. I've only had appetizers but they've all been quite tasty. Overall, I really enjoy this place, and generally make a point to visit here at least once whenever I'm in town.

Update: The food is now more expensive and gross. The last three times we have been in the halibut tastes like it has been allowed to rot in a walk-in for three weeks due to the new overpriced menu... I'd skip this place and dine elsewhere.

A great sports pub. I had a chance to spend some time here this weekend, watch some games, eat some great food and wonder which beers to try. They had so many selections it was hard to decide which beer to order. Not a problem, as you can sample 4 at a time. The halibut and chips were awesome, some of the best I've had. The quality of the food and service was outstanding and makes this place a small gem in downtown Spokane.

Great selection of beer, and good food. Try to come by during happy hour for their drink specials.

I didn't order food, but the beer was pretty good. I like even more selection, but I am a snob about beer so what can you say. Prices are not bad, 5 for a pint 14 for a pitcher. Mostly PNW micros, including rotators from some PNW breweries. I will go back. This place just showed me that downtown Spokane is on the way up.

The main appeal of this place is the great selection of beer on tap. I was not too impressed by the food, fries were extremely salty to the point of borderline inedible, and the sausage in their chili dog had a weird texture. I'd be willing to try something else. The service is slow when it's busy, but friendly. Did I mention they had a great selection of beer? I'd definitely head there if I visited Spokane again, just to get Stone IPA on tap.

We LOVE their cheeseburger! We've always had attentive waiters as well...even when they're busy. Their beer selection is pretty good and cheap during happy hour.

Food is OK. Atmosphere pretty good. Food was average. The nachos were small for money and way too salty. Fried Pickles were good. Burgers not bad, onion rings good. Good beer selection, fast service. Atmosphere is cool, good service. Recommend for quick downtown bite in good atmosphere. If you have more time the "Q" Sports Bar at the Northern Quest Casino has more room, much better food and prices.

The buffalo wings were pretty good, and the margaritas were yummy! Nothing too unique or special about the place, but seems to be a good place to relax and have a few drinks.

I went here on a whim with my boyfriend, I always see it on my way home from work. I have to say we loved it. Great Service and Great Food. Our waitress was very attentive, and when we ordered the 5 beer sampler from their extensive list (20 on tap alone) she made suggestions based on our unique taste preferences. Which was great since I'm a novice beer drinker at best and my boyfriend is kind of a beer snob. We then split the calamari which was excellent! I also had the wedge salad which was HUGE and he had the Fish and Chips, which he scarfed down before I even had a chance to try them. : ( haha. I would defiantly go here again with friends to watch a game on one one of there 4 flat screen TVs.

If you're in the mood for a good cheeseburger and a beer, the Post Street Ale House is a must! Love this place. Fun place to go when there's a big game on.

A pub in Spokane! I have eatten here twice. The first time we had fish tacos they were good. The second time we had pulled pork and grilled tuna fish sandwiches. They were both excellent, the only thing that would of improved the sandwiches is the tuna could of used a slice of tomato and some lettuce and where was the PICKLE!? The fries are shoestring, not my farvorite. Good beer selection.

Good beer good food but the staff isn't that attentive. I sat for 15 min before anyone even asked if I needed anything! After making eye contact with like 3 staff, I was tempted to just wave them down. Since I am paying for service and not reaching for a beer out of the fridge this matters!

Very good place w/great beer selection (as far as I was concerned); waitress was very helpful. Ambience was not quite as pub-like as I expected, but fine. Chop-chop salad was ok.

My coworker and I stopped in to grab some lunch on our way back to work. We both ordered a Reuben and both asked for them not to put the Louis dressing on the sandwiches. I requested Dijon mustard added so the sandwich wouldn't be dry. That was probably one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was overcooked, tough, and dry. There was no Louis dressing per my request but also there was NO Dijon mustard or anything that would make that dry, dry meat easier to swallow. I couldn't find any Swiss cheese on my sandwich. Believe me, if I wouldn't have ordered the sandwich to go and paid for it in advance, this would be one sandwich that I wouldn't accept! It wasn't as though I was asking for a re-make of the entire sandwich, but adding some mustard shouldin't have been a problem. I won't return

Let me start by saying that I am a low maintenance person and have average standards. My wife and I tried this place during a short stay in Spokane and found the only thing decent about it was that the facilities were clean and inviting. The menu was OK but the food really bad. My wife had a cheeseburger and I had a fish sandwhich and both were school cafeteria quality. Honestly, you can get a better meal at Jack In The Box. After $10.00 for parking downtown, marginal service (had to beg for a coffee refill), and crappy food....go somewhere else.

Pretty good food for a bar! My husband got the fish sandwich and was pretty impressed with it. They also have those really thin crispy fries which are my favorite! I got the barbeque wings and thought they were pretty good. The crispy-ness was perfect. I would have liked a more spicy bbq taste more then the sweet bbq taste, though. The atmosphere was great, the service was great and the food was pretty good too for it being a bar! I'm sure we'll be back again. :)

As other reviewers have said, the thing that sets this place apart from many other bars is its large and diverse beer selection. The food was OK; a little on the bland side as far as flavor goes, but the quality was decent. Service is glacially slow when it gets busy in there, and I think we had a rookie bartender or something because she didn't know how to make 2 of the drinks on the bar's drink list that my wife ordered. I guess if I lived or worked downtown this would be a decent place for beers. Other than that, I don't see the appeal of the place.

Good beer selection! Service was pretty quick. Food needs improvement. Sliders were too plain, Cesar and chop salad weren't very good. The mozzarella sticks were amazing! They ran out of fish by 6:00 on a Friday during lent, dissapointment!

Nothing super special here. I just stopped by with a friend and we grabbed a couple of beers and a little food late at night. They had a decent selection of beer on tap and the food came out quick and they took our orders accurately. Admittedly I didn't stay long but I wouldn't mind stopping by again for a quick drink while waiting for friends or on the way home from a long night.

I wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was great, good music, good beer list. Everyone I was with liked their food, so maybe my burger was the exception, not the rule. You know it's bad when you pick it up and grease pours, not drips, down onto the plate and part of the bun is already grease soaked. I gave up about half way through. That bun just wasn't enough for the "World's Best Cheeseburger."

three stars for the after 10pm appetizer specials. beer list is pretty decent, and atmosphere is overall pretty nice. every time i have been in it isn't too loud or busy, but at the same time doesn't feel like we are the only one's in there. food is pretty good. my one complaint is the service, went in around 11:30, was told it was last call but we could still get a round. thinking i could still get an appetizer as well i went ahead and ordered a drink. drinks came back, along with the tab. i wouldn't have stayed if i realized last call meant please leave asap. mind you, there were quite a few others present, but still the servers began putting chairs up and totally shutting down. so i guess if you would like to get in on the after 10pm specials, arrive at 10:01

the service was great, the beer list extensive and the food was very good. i had the fish tacos. the bartender said the tortillas were from right down the block and she was right- they were very good. i'd go back.

My first experience several weeks back was a complete meh. Yeah... best cheeseburger my arse. meat overcooked, bun cold (I mean borderline not quite defrosted cold), and some of the saddest fries ever. Only ate a couple. Yup. Me. Only a couple. Nuff Said. So why the 4 Stars after that little rant? 2 subsequent visits and both well above par. Had the fish and chips and it was one of the best i've had (i live in New England so we do some fish&chip) A garlicky tarter sauce. A nice light fry on a couple of nice haddock filets that were fresh. Fries were crisp shoestrings. Well done Post St. Ale House.

This was a nice pub with a great beer selection. We were staying one night in Spokane and our hotel suggested it. The food was good as well however, there are a few things that I would like to see change. I come from Portland and it's unusual to have in a pub cheap plastic table cloths. They were stained and drippy on the sides like only the top gets cleaned. Ditch those and it would make a huge difference. We evidently took by accident someone else's booth. She was in the loo but it all worked out as she got a single spot for herself so the four of us could have the booth. The staff was great so if you're in the area, go get a beer!

Great food! TERRIBLE SERVICE every single time!!! I have gone back because I love the fish tacos but they literally have the worst service with the rudest wait staff I have ever encountered in my life! The tacos are good but not good enough to go back. They need to get their stuff together!
