Amazing food, all the Italian classics plus additional exciting things and interesting specials, the goat cheese gnocchi with spinach in a sage and brown butter sauce gave me a foodgasm, with a complementary salad you can't get a better meal for $15. The service is top notch, friendly, attentive, and extremely accommodating of picky eaters and they bring appetizers/salad/main course perfectly paced. There's a wonderful lounge area with a quiet atmosphere great for a date or simply eating alone, there is also a separate family friendly dining room. A real gem of Spokane that's locally owned and been in business for 38 years, go here instead of the nearby Old Spaghetti Factory. *Someone I dined with thought the Alfredo sauce on their fettuccine gave them a stomach ache the next day, but both times I've eaten here everything has sat well.

It's not the best I've ever had but it's definitely not bad. A large group of us came here for lunch and all ordered different things so I had a chance to try a variety of dishes (salads, soups, sandwiches, and pastas). Overall, the food was good - hearty and well-seasoned and it filled out empty bellies. Skip the key lime pie though; it was just missing the key lime-y tartness and I didn't particularly care for it. The service was completely lacking, however. I can see that serving a larger group can be overwhelming, but our server was quite lackluster, forgetful, and just didn't seem to care. After a while, a secondary server came by and asked if we needed anything, refilled out waters, etc. but that took quite a while and we were basically done with our meal.

Terrible service! Always rude and extremely slow! It's a beautiful place! Just hire some friendly people and things will get better.

Great ambience here. Service is always very attentive. Portions are large. Specialty soup tomato potato is awesome. Chicken Marsala is a repeat order. You can dress up, dress down. Bring kids, go on a date. Anyway you do it it's a nice experience.

I have eaten here at least twice a month for years and there is nothing that isn't delicious!! My favorite dishes are the stuffed mushrooms, lasagna, spaghetti Europa, and the Mufelleta sandwich. All are fabulous. The pizzas are great with fresh ingredients and fresh dough. I have never had a bad meal here. Exceptional wait staff are always attentive. Terri K.

We picked Europa for our wedding night dinner for a good reason. This place is amazing. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. I always get the sweet red pepper tortellini. And while I usually eat only half of my meal at other places, I scarf the entire thing down here. It's that good. I've heard that other things on the menu are good too. But I'm sticking with my favorite meal. Sure, I'll take a bite of yours too. Thanks!

With two boys at Gonzaga, my husband and I have been coming to Spokane for 5 years and just last night tried Europa and loved it! So sorry we didn't discover this gem a few years ago. We enjoyed Happy Hour in the bar and loved all the apps we tried including the bruschetta, the shrimp with jicama, corn and bacon (what a delicious combo - we actually ordered a second of those we loved it so much), the stuffed mushrooms and other delicious items. Our waitress (Amanda, I believe) was so kind. We loved everything so much, we are thinking of heading back there again tonight.

This place has alright food, but I really love coming to this plates for desserts or a night cap. The vibe and ambiance of this place are what keep me coming back. Always dependable place to take a date to.

My fiancé and I came here looking for some good Italian food and we were not disappointed. Everything from our pesto torte appetizer to the sampler dishes we had was delicious. They also make a great caramel apple martini. The atmosphere was fantastic, very cozy, and even though we were there close to closing the waitress never seemed impatient or rushed us. Great staff, food and ambience (: we will definitely be going here again

Came here for a double date. Very relaxed nice atmosphere. Had the gorgonzola fondue for appetizer and calamari . Absolutely delicious and recommend. I love calamari and are very particular about the way it is prepared and cook and honey nailed it! For sure on my top 3 best I've had! For dinner had sweet pepper tortellini and manicotti with the basil pesto sauce. The sweet pepper sauce is delicious! But overall everything was. Didn't have anything we didn't enjoy or liked. You must save room for dessert at this place. We had a banana macadamia nut coconut cake that was light and fabulous - very moist! Huge slice couldn't finish . Hubby had a cookie dough warm pie that was very rich but very good! Definitely recommend

Wonderful Sunday evening in the pub. Nice entertainment and an excellent grilled salmon. Hard to beat the all day happy hour and the 20oz. No-Li Born and Raised IPA. Really like to cozy and classy atmosphere.

Real Italian style food. I love their red and white pasta (I forgot its real name). People in this restaurant are really nice.

Very tea room like decor with a touch of industrial with the exposed brick and general look of the building. My host brought me here for a business lunch yesterday since it was right next door to the offices. Good menu selection, I ended up ordering one of the lunch special salads which had pears, candied pecans, cranberries and a homemade raspberry vinaigrette. The soup of the day was a tomato basil potato soup. The soup was a surprise, I was thinking it was going to be more of a creamy based soup, but it was more of a minestrone but with potato. It wasn't that bad, the salad was mediocre, should have asked for cheese or something to help cut al that sweetness on the salad? not a fan of the candied pecans. It came with bread which was okay as well. It tasted store bought and not freshly made, the crust was not crispy and it was not piping hot like I am used to when getting bread from a restaurant, even though the bread was nicely wrapped in the napkin it was in. I will say the desserts looked amazing. They were mini sized so good for a quick hit of goodness. I have a sweet tooth and almost passed since I had thought the salad was too sweet but when she said chocolate mousse, I couldn't say no! it looked like a slightly larger chocolate truffle, the mousse had a coffee flavor to it and the layer of cake at the bottom was moist and tasty. Great little bite, the ganache covering the mousse was to die for and it was surprisingly not too sweet. I think I will need to come back and try something different and see if I just picked the wrong entree

Authentic Italian food. Fast and friendly service. They have amazing desserts. Price is reasonable considering the quality of food they serve. Plenty of parking and the environment is clean. I'll definitely eat here again whenever I'm in the area.

Well now. The place is new to me, but not to my mom and her 92yo friend. They made "I remember" comments the minute they walked in. They remembered the atmosphere, but not the food. OK, atmosphere is laid back.Had soft lighting with a sofa-like thing in the corner that served as a booth. We moved in there and felt at home right away. Now, the food: Poached pear salad: candied nuts, dried cranberries. Raspberry vinaigrette dressing really made it. Bread: soft crust, made interesting because the butter tasted like it had the juice from crushed rosemary drizzled into it. Really subtle and nice. Soup: minestrone was the best choice we felt. Freshness of ingredients came through. Spaghetti: meatball with good flavor of fennel; rich sauce. Manicotti: the sweet red pepper cream sauce raised this dish to a higher level. Ravioli: this is the thing to get. Intense flavor of the beef contents, reminded me of lean short ribs that were seared then braised for hours. Wrapper made there- you can tell. Sauce was highly aromatic from the mushrooms, with the marsala flavor sneaking up on you after the mushrooms grabbed you and got your attention. Damn, this guy is great on sauces. Seafood fettucine: er, get this too. Once again, the aromas get your attention before you dip the spoon in. Shrimp, calamari, clams, scallops all present and accounted for. Sauce is light yet with creamy seafood flavors. Thanks. Don't really like sauces that are butter, lemon, garlic, and more butter. Yup, great on sauces. Chocolate expresso petit fours: very creamy.Good quality dark chocolate was used, not that milky substitute. Probably a cholesterol speedball, but who cares! Worth it! Gotta get out of town before I become an addict.

Driving through the area. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Place is clean. Service is good. Food tasted good. Healthy options. Ordered buffalo wrap with minestrone soup. Place is large, prefect for big groups.

If this was based solely upon our food I would give this five stars. The service was beyond explanation - made us wait over 30 minutes even though there were a dozen open tables. Entres arrived before our salads. Three of the four drink orders were delivered -totally forgot the fourth. Plenty of wait staff but unbelievably inefficient. But, like I said initially food is great.

After eating at Europa two times during dinner hours, it's time I give them a review. THE SERVICE: Both experiences were identical; it took a long time to get a waitress, appetizers took at least 20 minutes the first time and over 30 minutes the second time dining there. We placed our orders at 6:41pm and didn't get our food until minutes before 8pm. The waitress didn't check on us as much as a waitress should, and didn't tell us why our food was taking as long as it did to arrive. We did see a few waitresses just standing there at one point talking, which made some of our party very irritable. The only thing that they seemed to be doing well was serving alcohol. For those of us who weren't drinking, it was not a pleasant experience. When the appetizers were brought out, they gave us the two that were ordered, but gave us a third one that had not. We quickly let them know that it wasn't ours to avoid getting charged for it - we doubted that it was complimentary for having us wait so long. THE FOOD: The food was delicious! You know that saying, "there's light at the end of the tunnel," or the rainbow after a storm thing? That's how we felt. After sitting for so long and running out of conversation, we finally got served delicious food. The entrees were all great, the pizza, the calzone, the pesto pasta, the spaghetti, and everything else was delicious. No one complained that the food was horrible. AND, all of the food was extremely hot! In terms of food, they successfully satisfied everyone. If you have two hours or more to kill, I recommend Europa. However, if you don't have patience, then this place is one to skip.

The stuffed mushrooms were good and they had a decent wine selection. The decor was a bit cheesy, staff was ok but looked like they would rather be anywhere else but there and our main courses (pizza, pasta) were mediocre. The espresso at the end of our meal was served Sicilian style and was the one thing above average. Just ok I would say.

  • Shannon S.

Food was good, service could have been better. I had to ask for water. My date needed a refill on his beer and had to flag down a waitress. I do like the homey feel of the bar area and the couches are a nice touch. Like I said the food was good, very tasty. My favorite is the decor and atmosphere.

What a great find! Fabulous food and service. All the meals were prepared perfectly and the food was great! Lots of different choices for all different tastes including salads, pasta, calzones, pizza and great selection of full entrees. Their dessert selection is fabulous with a full bakery for selections. The peanut butter chocolate cheesecake was one of our favorites.

If you want some pretty amazing carbs this is your place. I got the Chicken Gorgonzola pasta which was perfectly done pasta and chicken in a creamy sauce. My dad got the Our Favorite pizza and it was delightful as well, especially on top of the in house made whole wheat crust. Overall great italian comfort food in a cute restaurant with amazing baked bread and tasty menu.

We were craving some carby Italian food before (yet another) a Saturday night out in Spokane. So we checked out Yelp and ended up at Europa because of a combination of the good reviews, the diverse menu, and the affordability. We were a party of 7 and they were able to seat us immediately, which is always nice to have on a Saturday night. It's a rarity at most Seattle restaurants, so I always appreciate when a place can accommodate a large party at a moment's notice. Everyone was excited about coming here because of the immense selection of cocktails and food on the menu, so the choice seemed like a slam dunk. However, I think their huge selection precludes them from doing any one thing particularly well, and therein lies their primary flaw. I'll explain: Due to some miscommunication and poorly executed phone tag amongst a couple different parties, we all arrived at different times. Okay, no big deal. We can enjoy some cocktails while we wait for everyone to arrive. I ordered the Europa Old Fashioned and unfortunately, it wasn't really even close to what an old fashioned was supposed to be. It was more like a whiskey ginger at best. I didn't physically watch the bartender make it, but I don't think there was any simple syrup or bitters in it. It was also served in what appeared to be a soda glass with lots of crushed ice- it just didn't get the job done. Perhaps I've become an old fashioned snob, but this just didn't meet my expectations. After that, I figured I would just order something simple since I wasn't particularly confident in the bartender to make my next cocktail correctly. Luckily, they had the No Li Creme Ale, which was something I had never had before and really enjoyed. Once everyone had arrived, I ordered the gnocchi for dinner. They were fried after they were boiled to the point of being, in my opinion, overly crispy. I suppose it's not their fault since this is an accepted way of making gnocchi, but every time I've ever ordered it at an Italian restaurant, it's been pillowy and soft. When I have seen fried gnocchi, it's usually a very light frying and adds only a subtle texture to the dish. Europa's gnocchi might as well have been breaded and deep fried for the way it tasted. I probably wouldn't order it again. I think it would be beneficial if they cut out some of the extra items off of their menu. Get really really good at making a couple things and then focus on those. Maybe create a couple seasonal menus so that you can still keep people coming back to try new things, but still maintain the true identity of the food and cocktails. I'm not rushing back, but I'll give this place another chance when I'm in Spokane and jonesing for some Italian food . The service was good and everyone else enjoyed their their experience. The calzones did look pretty tasty.

The Sausage Penne was delicious, excellent service, large serving (too much actually), and well priced- not too expensive. Cool building and atmosphere. Will be back!

Europa is a nice little find in the downtown area of Spokane. I stopped in on a week night while out in Spokane for work. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed, romantic, and a bit rustic. The food is standard European and continental fare, but cooked well and with very hearty portions. Friendly and prompt service. Ample seating in either the bar or dining area. The feel is very old world and you will leave satiated, calm, and happy. Not a mind-blowing culinary experience by any means, but very thoughtfully prepared dishes and a very homey and cozy atmosphere.

I used to come to Europa back in high school when taking in a good Magic Lantern indie film first. ...or if money was tight the $1 movie deals at the Fox. I have no idea if the Fox theater or the Magic Lantern still exist as that was 15 years ago, but I'm glad Europa is still around! The fiance and I walked over from the Davenport Tower where we were staying which was a quick 2 blocks away. The accessible entrance is on Howard street, and we had to call first to make sure someone would be able to let us in, as they had to come unlock a gate to the back entrance. Although it kind of sucks to call in first to be let in, it was kind of cool to come in the back through the kitchen Goodfellas style! We met the parents and ordered bruchetta as an app, which was quite good. The parents got the lasagna and a baked manicotti type of thing. The plates were clear empty after dinner, so I think they liked it! The fiance got spaghetti and meatballs and said it was really good. I ordered the blackened salmon caesar salad. The salmon was a bit overdone, but was decent. In the midst of the new chain restaurants in River Park Square Europa is a solid choice for Italian food in downtown Spokane!

We took our parents out to this restaurant on a rainy winter day. Amazing. Really great place with excellent atmosphere, big beams, nice lighting. The server was very nice, perfect balance of attentive but not overbearing. Gave us the history of the building too. Coffee was really excellent and bold. Made fresh. We had soup and a variety of different dishes including veg meals and everything was excellent. I had an eggplant sandwich that was delicious, but the minestrone soup was the best part, especially with the fresh bread. Nice light mousse for dessert. Very economical for four people, with coffee and dessert. Really cool side street in Spokane. Highly recommended!!

Food is good but service is questionable. My wife and I were treated poorly, by the manager of all people! And I will not be coming back. Her elitist attitude and condescending manner in which she tried to explain their acceptance of gift certificates was pathetic and mildly hilarious seeing as how I still gave her a decent tip after she berated us on the use of old Europa gift certificates and how they are not accepted in this restaurant. So much for working in food SERVICE!

  • Megs H.

Beautiful Old World style interior! The service was meh (she seemed SUPER put-out by everything... Even answering a question about the size of a full salad vs. lunch portion... Btw: get the full!! Lunch portion is itty-bitty and the full was about 1/2 of her exaggerated estimation!)... Tomato potato soup was pretty good, so was the pear spinach salad. "Our Favorite" pizza was pretty great too! Unsolicited opinion from my the 8-year-old nephew about his cheese pizza & (mostly milk) Italian Soda, "I wouldn't come here everyday... But it was good."

Europa used to be a go-to place for taking a date in the 90s...but now its absolutely inedible and overpriced. Its a shame because the bar area is a pretty unique spot.

Went in for dessert the other night. Sat in the bar. Amazing white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Sweetest male server. Less-than-thrilled female server as well.

Cheesy Pizza & Calzones - Great Way to Appreciate Italian Cuisine! SITREP While traveling like a madmen through the Pacific Northwest, I always have to stop in Spokane. Not only do I have a consirable number of kinfolk, I also have some college buddies from my Walla Walla days living here. This is always great for a fun meet up. THE MENU SETUP What is awesome about Europa is that it caters to Vegetarians just as much as Meat-eaters. There are so many wonderful selections - with their pizzas and calzones - that please the palate of my non-carnivore friends. But not only can you order specific versions of items as noted on the menu, but they also have a "DIY" option for both Pizzas and Calzones where you have only the ingredients added that you want. AWESOME. And some of these delectables worth noting include: * A Vegetarian Calzone that includes a delicious mix of artichokes, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, basil pesto, and mozzarella. All for under $10. * And say not everyone want's Italian? Like Aunt Maude who "kinda got dragged out with us" and doesn't like the typical Italian? What's good for her? Why there was a Thai Chicken Pizza that she (and me) were able to feast upon. It included stuff like the grilled Thai Chicken, a homemade thai peanut sauce for the sauce, some pineapple, green onions, & of course the cheese! (Mozzarella). * I also enjoyed the deep-fried Calamari that was available here as well! (It seems just about EVERY Spokane restaurant I like that I frequent here has there own version of Calamari! (And I'm not complaining). ;^) There is also a substantial selection of pastas and other baked good taste treats to have as well. THE LOWDOWN Europa is a great food experience for both Vegetarian and Non-'vegetarian alike!

Food is good-not exceptional but pretty good. Service was very good. One thing I find annoying (for anyone with kids) is the lack of a baby changing station in the men's restroom. Apparently Europa believes in a fairly traditional gender roles :-)

If you are looking for a great calzone this is the place. Great atmosphere, service, and food.

This place is amazing! My wife has cravings for their Gnocchi Burro Alla Salvia, very rich and delicious. We always get the Calamari and the Hungarian mushroom soup is yummy. I've tried the Spicy Calzone and on our last visit a small Cambazola pizza. Very reasonable with a nice atmosphere.

We visited this place after being here in Spokane for several days for a wedding, we tried all sorts of different places to eat and this was hands down the best one. Friendly waitstaff, nice atmosphere, and great food. I would call it a restaurant/pub/coffee bar. The desserts are really good we had the raspberry cream cheese cake.

    (5)
  • Jason S.

Yes, I am a fan of the food. The Spaghetti Europa is meaty and sauce tastes as if someone put a little time into it. The pizza, especially the crust is light, crispy and soft on the inside (even the next day). The calzones are awesome. The desserts are delicious. The atmosphere, ambiance and food are very 5 star worthy. The service is uneven. As it has been better in recent visits, my advice is never go in if you are starving. Food seems to take a little longer than average and some of it is understood since most of it is truly prepared by hand and to order. However, a few times, several patrons when I have been there have been up in arms about the wait and had to take their food to go due to time constraints. To their credit, they have provided a free appetizer and condolences. I do return for the food but also prepare myself by going with people I don't mind spending time with and plenty to talk about.

We have attended the once a month five course dinner with wine to match each course and couldn't be happier . We have had food I never would try and couldn't believe how good it was . The presentation of the dishes was first class. Each portion had a wine to match and a presentation by the wine representative about the history of the wine was very informative. I write this review hoping you won't go or I might not get a seat , just kidding , I hope they will very successful so it will continue !

My boyfriend's coworker recommended this place and this is our second visit in 2 weeks! We came here both times for their happy hour (and honestly, I'd still come back even if it wasn't for their HH prices). Everything on their HH menu is super yummy: Sampler appetizer platter, their $5 mini pizzas (choose your own 2 toppings!), lobster dip, fried calamari, etc! We ordered way too much food our first time and had to box home our mini pizzas (but i stuck it in the toaster oven for a few minutes and it was as good as fresh!) They also taunt you with their platter selection of yummy desserts at the end, which we never had room for, yet! Service-wise: Okay yea they might be a little on the slower side, but it wasn't unreasonably slow. Both times we came here, we didn't have to wait for a table; in fact there is plenty of open tables. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group though since they have small tables, and so you likely won't be able to seat more than 6 to a table (I could be wrong). I couldn't help but think I was sitting in the living room/dining room of someone's grandma's house while having tea or something, haha!

Saw it on Yelp and didn't realize it's the same place... I hadn't been here since the late 80's - but how many hours did I spend waiting for a show upstairs at the now defuct Magic Lantern? The bathrooms are in the same place and as I made my way- this time sober and a few decades older- I immediately remembered how much fun this old building is. And, that was really good pizza. Thai chicken with peanut sauce(no onions please) ? Groovy. And delish. The service was fantastic as well. Seriously, loved our server. If I lived here, I'd take you out for a beer and a pie here.

I used to live in Spokane. And, the food choices here are somewhat of a challenge. Which, is surprising because you'd think there is access to a lot of fresh food. Europa is a spot I would definitely return to in the future. I had a veggie ravioli (homemade) with mushroom marinara and a glass of wine. The dish tasted great. And, it wasn't huge or too small. My one and only slight complaint was that it could have been a little hotter temperature wise. They have a good wine list. And, the place has a good feel. I would definitely lose the weird, Victorian chairs. The interior structure itself is a gem. Exposed brick and open beam construction. Obviously from back in the day. But, again, those chairs gotta go. I know, I know...it was your idea when you opened the place. But, you'd be better off with something more upright and less like a grandmother's bed and breakfast. No offense to all of the grandmother's out there that run B and B's...

  • Vanessa O.

The food is very good and everything tastes freshly made. Except, my boyfriend has gotten cold soup twice. The dining experience is relaxing and good for a couple or group to converse without being rushed out of a venue. If you are starving I wouldn't recommend it because it does take a while to get your food. My only main problem is that the waitstaff always seems rude and snotty. They appear overstaffed, but with helpless people working. If the service were to improve, without a question this would be a 5 star place. This place lacks consistency.

I just popped in here during a few days in town for work after a coworker mentioned it to me. I am kinda snobby about italian food, but this was really good. Really really damn good. I was a bit surprised by the atmosphere when I walked in, because the front looks a bit like a cafe/diner, but I sat at the bar in the lounge. I had a fettucini with gorgonzola cream sauce, walnuts, chicken, and mushrooms. It was awesome, everything about it. The pasta dishes come with soup and bread, and both were great, especially the bread which was warm and toasty but still fluffy and tasty. They even served me a half portion of pasta when I seemed hesitant to order a huge bowl of pasta plus bread plus soup, and it turned out to be the perfect amount of food for one reasonably hungry person at a very good price. I didn't have dessert but the cafe has some nice looking options... next time. I will definitely be back.

This is a must place to visit in Spokane. I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had one of the best sandwiches that I have ever had in my life. I ordered one full Muffaleta Sandwich (Salami, canadian bacon, and mozzarella cheese on foccacia bread) with their homemade tomato potato soup. The sandwich was overflowing with meat and cheese, and all that was for only $9.95. Not only that, they had blue moon for only $3 a bottle! One downside about this place is that it is a little bit hard to find, and they currently have a construction going on right next to the restaurant so street parking may be limited (they do not have their own parking lot) for the time being.

Very good overall. Went there with the family for dinner after a long day of touring Spokane. We shared several entrees and an appetizer. I recommend the red pepper cream sauce and basil cream sauce. The lasagna and spaghetti were good, but pretty average. Soup was okay. Desserts looked tempting, but we are stuffed. Friendly wait staff and prices were affordable.

I came her ready for dinner with my girlfriend one evening. We walked in to find the place almost empty with a sign that said, "please wait to be seated". We waited alright. Almost 8 min went by with out even being noticed. Needless to say we turned around and left. Not a great first impression.

Went for lunch after church on a Sunday. We were on the only customers. Wait staff were really warm and inviting. Atmosphere is wonderful and warm. The chairs are cozy. I had the meatball calazone. It was great. Another person in my party had the turkey sandwich and loved it. Unfortunately, one meal was a bit off. My husband had the lasagna and soup and both were not heated enough. There was a cold spot in the lasagna. He did say the taste was good. There is an extensive wine and beer list that would be something to explore. The menu has many, many choices and I really want to try one of the pizzas next time. I would go back, but this time I would order dessert first as we were too full for dessert and they looked great.

Ate/Drank here for Happy Hour Friday night in the bar area with my family of four and it was excellent! Extensive menu selection of apps/pizza/pasta, and decent selection of drinks. Everything we ordered was very tasty! Service was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Food ok, drinks watery, bread cold. Waitress kept forgetting our order or some of our guest. Dessert selection lacking anything if quality. I was really looking forward to that part since it was also a bakery . Steam plant across the street is much better place to dine , better ambiance, food, drinks and desserts. Sad part is we were celebrating a graduation and it sort of spoiled the occasions. Will not return

Lovely classy setting! Don't skip to the dessert, omg! The cookie dough gooey pie, amazing, so many great choices, i wanted a sampler. Coffee-awesome. Dinner, manicotti & red pepper tortilini very tasty. Husband had a pizza, homemade dough. Ill HAVE to come back to try more dishes. Nice, attentive wait staff & reasonably priced too!! Compared to other Italian restaurants in the area ill give this place a 5.

Europa is my kind of place - three-dollar-sign decor, a chef's name on the menu, and artisanal pizzas / Italian that's reasonably priced for downtown. Located more south of the Downtown area than you might expect, behind an unassuming door lies a restaurant decorated with mismatched Victorian-style furniture and the lights just ever so slightly dimmed. The place was busy when we stopped in for dinner, but we were able to be accommodated despite the lack of reservations. It was pretty busy, though, so walk-ins might not always be able to find a seat during peak hours. We walked past table situated in front of furniture that you wouldn't necessarily expect to be used in a restaurant, like a couch or - in our case - a pair of wicker lawn chairs. It was kitschy, though slightly at the expense of comfort - in order to reach the table, we had to scoot to the front of the deep-seated chairs. It did, however promote a very relaxed atmosphere: be prepared to sit back and enjoy some good food. Despite our intentions to order pizza, we prefaced our carbohydrate overload with a bread appetizer - basil romas with foccacia - bread triangles served alongside a heap of tomatoes, basil, feta, olive oil, and a balsamic reduction. Freshness of ingredients is key in a dish like this, and everything was as great and simple as it could get. Though there are plenty of other Italian dishes on the menu, Europa has a hefty portion of the menu devoted to their artisanal pies. The ingredients list is extensive, offering three crusts, five sauces, as many cheeses, ten varieties of meats, and an impressive seventeen vegetables. Of their specialty pizzas, the one that caught my eye was the Thai Chicken, featuring homemade spicy Thai peanut sauce, tender chicken, pineapple, green onions and a blend of cheeses. I've never eaten peanut sauce as the base for a pizza, and I had mixed expectations. Once a slice met my food-hole, however, I was greeted by a complex and well-balanced pizza that embodied Thai elements with sophistication and aplomb. More chefs are tackling the pizza and taking it in directions that might make New Yorkers scoff, but are darn tasty nonetheless. As happy I was with my exploration into one of the wilder pizzas Europa has to offer, I couldn't help but be taken by the Hot and Spicy pie that my dining partner ordered. I wrote that pizza off as being a little too ordinary given the circumstances - red sauce, chili flakes, pepperoni, linguisa sausage, caramelized onions and a cheese blend - but the sweetness of the onions, the spicy sauce, and the salty sausage provided some great interplay, and I managed to negotiate a trade for a few slices. I'm not normally a dessert guy when I dine out, but my companion was suckered into some flourless chocolate mousse that was being paraded around the restaurant by a server (the restaurant offers a number of gluten-free options, if that's your thing). It was good, though I have a difficult time being blown away by mousse. Had I realized that there was a dedicated pastry chef working in back, however, I might have taken a closer look at that dessert menu. I'm only visiting Spokane for a few weeks, but it seems like there's a lack of middle ground between the good cheap eats ($) and the dressy-expensive-type restaurants ($$$). Europa is one of those places in the middle that serves as a great example of what Spokane can provide without shoving a fist full of class down your throat. And hey, the food's good, too.

The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell when we entered. It was a mixture of bathroom sanitizer and rotten fish. We went back to the bar, where the smell was not evident. One look at the filthy, thread bare carpeting should have been cause to leave--after the smell. We had the Pizza Rustica with a side salad. For almost $4, the side salad was tiny and overpriced. The house dressing was good. The pizza was on par with Pizza Hut. The toppings were skimpy, and the pizza had an underwhelming taste and appearance. (Too bad the pizza flavor wasn't as strong as the smell in the main dining room.) The service was good.

Wonderful service. I had the calzone and it was delicious. The wine prices were a bit high and not a huge list. Also had to pay extra for a side dinner salad (would have been nice if included). Reasonable prices (besides the wine). Neat decor. Great service. Will go back next time I'm in the area.

We went here for dinner with people from the conference we were attending. This place does not accept reservations and we couldn't all sit in the same room together. The food was good, but the service, while friendly, was appallingly slow. I went nearly half an hour with an empty glass before we could get someone to refill it. The wait person was noticably absent and never checked on us. We were charged an 18% gratuity for a group, but as I said, they don't take reservations, we all sat in different areas, paid separately and received poor service. For a $60 dinner for 2, I expect signifcantly better. When my companion discussed the situation with the manager, she was quite rude, unapologetic and tried to make excuses. I can get equally good food at Sbarro when at the mall for significantly less. We won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Great affordable prices. Sat in the lounge and a more relaxed atmosphere. Interesting seating as it was like sitting in a lounge chair and small table. I ordered the Spicy calzone. The portion was huge. The best part of this place is the dessert tray they bring to show how they look. Had the cheesecake and it was fantastic! I wish I knew the desserts were this amazing and I would have eaten less to make more room for dessert.

We live in Western Washington and make it a point to visit Europa almost every time we go to Spokane. The service is always wonderful, the food is always delicious and the ambiance is unique and fun. The last time we were there, we brought several people with food allergies or restrictions -- a vegan, a vegetarian, one person allergic to gluten and soy and a child that is something of a picky eater. The server, Emily, did an amazing job of checking ingredients and making sure that everyone's meal aligned with their dietary needs. She was absolutely enthusiastic about making sure our food was just right and assured us that it was okay to ask questions. This is definitely not the kind of service we receive everywhere when we start asking questions about ingredients. So, thanks Emily and all the staff at Europa for making our visits to Spokane so delicious :-)

I had the spaghetti and my hubby had the chicken parm. Food was made well with quality ingredients. I prefer a little more flavor in my red sauce. Not sure if I will return, a little pricey for 3 star red sauce.

Best Lounge, Best Food Ever! We've been loyal patrons of Europa for decades. We dated here, celebrated many anniversaries and birthdays here, and even hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here. I think its safe to assume this is our favorite restaurant. The food is fresh and unpretentious. The lounge is our favorite spot. It almost feels like a living room with antique couches and chairs, a dark mahogany bar, and exposed brick walls. Probably a well known secret... When you're seated at a table with a drawer.. open it! People have written on napkins and stuffed them in the table drawers for years. It's fun to read the ramblings and insights of the patrons who sat there previously. The staff rotate the napkins out and we even found one that we had written on for our first anniversary 10 years ago. Another well known secret... Sunday is Happy Hour all day! Europa has a wonderful happy hour menu with a variety of very delicious, inexpensive appetizers and discounted entrees. Europa is its own bakery and the foccacia, pogacha rolls, and pizza crusts are amazing. I always have the signature minestrone soup which has incredible depth of flavor. My husband never orders salads elsewhere but his favorite item on the menu is the Almond Chicken Salad because of the light wasabi dressing. On Sunday evenings around 7pm they host live music in the lounge with an insanely talented classical acoustic guitar player. If you can't make the Sunday happy hour, they have a daily happy hour from 3-6pm and 9pm to closing along with some amazing lunch specials (ie. $5 for soup/salad, entree, and a drink).

Pretty good tasting calzones and good refresher drinks. I would have liked a little more cheese and sauce in the veggie calzone I tried. The appetizer sampler was very good! Good hummus and smoked salmon dip. Service was really friendly. We sat in the bar/lounge which was very lax and cozy feeling. Cool old world feel decor. We will probably visit again.

Every time I come here it is happy hour so I order off the budget menu... it has good choices, and I wonder if I'll ever end up trying anything off the regular menu. The draft selection is only a handful, but the porter and stout that they offer are both yummy. The interior is pleasant and the staff are friendly, and I've always received good service. I've found everything I've ordered to be tasty. Europa is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to dine in Spokane.

We were in Spokane for the weekend for business, and after looking on Yelp, we decided to give this place a try. I'm so happy that we did. The restaurant is charming and felt like it was in a large outdoor patio. The exposed wooden ceiling was really well done, and the decor felt like a quaint country inn. It was charming. My boyfriend got the Spicy Calzone (Spicy Capocollo ham, mushrooms, parsley, garlic, mozarella & pizza sauce) which was huge in size and generous with the filling. The calzone was really tasty and full of flavor and spice. I got the Europa Sampler - where you could pick two smaller entrees out of a list of four to six items. I picked the Spaghetti Europa (meat sauce) and the Sweet Pepper Tortellini. The Spaghetti Europa was okay - probably wouldn't get it again. The Sweet Pepper Tortellini? Wow, the sauce was AMAZING. It's their "famous sweet red pepper cream sauce" and the sauce is worth the hype. DEFINITELY get that next time you're in the restaurant. Overall, our meal was good. I would stop by here again, if we are back in Spokane. They had a HUGE drink menu - the martinis alone were two full pages. I ordered a ginger apple drink - not a huge fan of it, and I wouldn't get it again.

Not great, not bad. Lasagna and spaghetti just okay... Like I might make at home but going out you expect better. Nice atmosphere for inexpensive date night.

Europa is solid. I used to go to Europa every Monday for a year. Martini Monday became a tradition not only because of the incredible martini selection but also because the bartendress (Sarah) quickly became our good friend. For drinks, they truly have a great selection. The martinis are tasty, and if you're a girl (come on, you know it's true), you will enjoy all the flavored martinis. From melon to blueberry, you will leave feeling like you were at Willy Wonka's and tasted the most incredible flavors. I prefer a dirty gin martini and recommend the blue cheese-stuffed olives. The food is equally great. I can say with confidence that I enjoy every one of the salads offered. The pizza is incredible, and the desserts (for your viewing pleasure in the dining area) are rich and sweet (like me). There is a great room for a birthday or any other event you may have. The owners are wonderful and will likely come to check on you during the meal. Truly a fun place with good food. This did not receive four stars because (1) Sarah no longer works here, and (2) It is a little pricey.

    (3)
  • John R.

I would have given maybe 3 or even 4 stars, as the food was above avg but the service was a joke. in town on business and I use Yelp to find good local restaurants. Got there to a half full restaurant, no problem. Sit down and get my water and then 15 minutes later the only server working the entire dining room finally comes over. 90 minutes later I am finally done. Why on earth would you all have just one server, one hostess, and maybe an expediter working the entire dining room? (It did get more crowded) I sort of felt sorry for them, but the more i watched the three of them, I don't think they cared. No apologies, so i guess this is normal.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Spokane. Excellent food for the price, a wonderful atmosphere. The reason why it does not get 5 stars is because a couple things seem to be slipping lately. Sometimes the service is less than what you would expect. A few months ago my mother and I went in for a late night dinner in the bar, and we were completely ignored for 10 or 15 minutes, so we left without getting the chance to order. I was also there with a friend for lunch and the waiter did not write anything down. (This is a very dorky and arrogant thing to do unless you have a mind like a steel trap.) Anyway, the order was opposite what was requested. Whoopsie!

    (4)
  • Michael B.

The service was not good. I would have given it 5 stars if the service had even been passable. I considered 3. I am a vegetarian so I appreciate a well done vegetarian Panini. They nailed it. My wife also thought her salad and pasta dish was delicious. Although we almost had to leave without eating because the server took so long to come get our order and then so long to bring it to us. But I think she was the only one there and had a big party in the back. Still, if the service isn't better next time stars are coming off!

Nice place with old world charm. Ate here late and the staff were very down to earth, and food was good. Kids loved the Italian sodas. Pizza was good but not unique. Solid place. Deserts looked great, but we passed. Finally, they have a public health awareness, as participants in a Hep A vaccination program.

Headline: DON'T COME HERE ON A DIET!!! Most of the reviewers have said it all. Italian food. Old world charm. Eclectic but cozy seating. Style. Atmosphere. The bar area is dimly lit with a dark wood bar and an weird assortment of cozy chairs that look like they would fit into any grandmother's living room. Not my first choice, but I just sit there, I don't live there. The beer list is pretty decent. Not the best in town, but certainly not the worst. Anywhere with Manny's Pale Ale is fine by me. The food is delicious and the portions are RIDICULOUS! Especially if you come during happy hour (4 to 6 in the afternoons, all day Sunday). There's a long list of appetizers and pizzas that are extremely cheap, and extremely huge. My friend and I ordered a house-made cheese block/spread, a dish of stuffed mushrooms and a small pizza. The resulting food could have fed five. Everything was delicious, though my favorite was the mushrooms. The pizza had chunky, fresh toppings, but it was not quite fully cooked; a little doughy in the center. I will be back.

Food was well prepared and reasonalbly priced - 5 diners in the party we all ordered different things and were all pleased and full. Mostly ordered pasta but watched a pizza go by - next time! Appetizers, salad, entrees all presented together, at the right temp, Wait staff was attentive, but not intrusive. Bartender knows her stuff! One in our party ordered a "perfect" manhattan... she delivered! Dessert menu is extensive and the apple strudel was amazing. Thanks, we visit Spokane regularly, we'll be back.

The atmosphere and decor is very nice: comfy fairs and nice art. The bar area is really cool. The salads and sandwiches are all very good. This is the kind of place where I feel comfortable ordering a salad because the ingredients are fresh and tasty, not brown lettuce like you find at other places.

Europa owned my face. I don't feel like being witty and verbose, but almost everything I had was delicious. I would give it 4 and a half if I could just because the hummus was bland, but hot damn was everything else tasty. The focaccia bread they bake on sight? Holy balls it's good. Basil romas will destroy your life. In a good way.

We are at their Happy Hour right now enjoying inexpensive cocktails, five dollar mini pizzas, and key lime pie. This is one of the better places for dessert in Spokane. The service has been excellent (five stars). Kudos to our servers Brianna and Jaime.

Came hear for a bridal shower and was impressed by Europa. It was a perfect place for the occasion. They had a great private room set up, the servers were super friendly and accommodating. The food was great and I look forward to coming back. Pros: tasty and fresh food, friendly and attentive service, great spot for private groups, nice ambiance Cons: possibly parking on a busy night, I went on a Sunday afternoon so didn't have any problem.

It's been years since I've been into Europa. In fact its been so long since we've been in that I didn't recognize the place inside because they've expanded since our last visit. The interior and décor are pleasant and comfortable. Our server, a lovely girl from Georgia, was prompt and friendly. We started with Caprese salad, and steamer clams, both were amazing. For entrees our friend had the Gnocchi which was very good, different but incredibly flavorful. We both had calzones which were both excellent. For dessert we all spilt a Tiramisu which was very good and a nice portion. I'm really glad we ventured back into Europa and we'll certainly return. Thanks Europa!

This place had pretty cool decor and definitely fit the bill as an old European type restaurant. I went for lunch on a weekend and it wasn't crowded at all which was nice. The service was quick and helpful and was a great help in choosing a dish. I believe I got some sort of chicken and mushrooms with Alfredo sauce. It wasn't particularly amazing but it was satisfying and the lunch portion was a healthy size and fairly priced. Wine was okay but they had a very large selection to choose from and probably something for everyone. This is kind of a standard for restaurants now however, so I wasn't that impressed.

I love love love Europa. My husband and I come for our anniversary, birthdays any special occasion and we always bring friends from out of town there. I always enjoy my experience. The only gripe I have is the lack of seating. We brought a friend from out of town there a week ago and we were told the wait would be 2 hours simply because we had one too many people (we would have been willing to pull up a chair and squeeze but we were told that was not an option). Of course we left and ended up at The Sawtooth Grill for a wonderful meal. The food at Europa is consistently amazing. The waiters are friendly and helpful. I'm not a big wine connoisseur so they always help me pick a wine that will compliment my meal. The atmosphere wonderful, the building is gorgeous and the seating in the bar area is very cozy and romantic. My husband made a reservation for 12 for my birthday next week and they were completely accommodating I can't wait to introduce this beautiful place to my friends! Parking is sometimes a pain so be prepared to either pay or walk a bit.

I like Europa, the ambience is charming and cozy, it feels old-world European, you are never rushed and dining in the bar is probably the best thing to do for the ambiance. The food has always been good to very good, nothing stellar but for the price very good value. The service can sometimes be slow as can getting your food if they are very busy but it reminds me of the laid back atmosphere in Europe. This is one of the places that we take out of towners to if they appreciate atmosphere and companionship. I am actually surprised that Europa did not rate higher, they are delightful.

I love their salads but haven't tried a lot on their menu. They are a great place for a business lunch or a date location. If I'm going through downtown they are my main take-out location for lunch back in the office. Staff are nice and give you a great experience each time.

First time ever in Europa I was greeted with hi we are sooooo understaffed its probably a 20 minute wait .... Okay this is stupid I loveeee the place but omg so she does say that there is help on the way. Nestled under a bridge on Wall Street in downtown Spokane is Europa. The first thing I noticed as I entered the restaurant were the large ceiling beams in the main dining room. Just then as a train rumbled overhead and shook the place, I understood why the beams were there. The trains run directly over the restaurant. I rather enjoyed it, it definitely added to the character of the place. There is the main dining room, however we asked to be seated in the pub area. There's a variety of eclectic seating arrangements in the pub. It's far more interesting. We ordered a pretty good anti-pasta platter for $11, it offered a nice variety of meats, a cheese spread and vegetables. Most of the dinner menu items are Italian. My spaghetti and meat sauce ($12) was simple but just fine and it came with a nice little dinner salad. Service was an A+

My girlfriend says Europa is "super yummy and not ridiculously priced." That essentially sums it up. Their food is great, I especially love their calzones. Every experience there has been great, the customer service has been perfect. Even on busy nights the food has been served promptly. They even have live music in the bar sometimes.

This has been my favorite restaurant in Spokane for over 20 years! I have enjoyed every meal I've eaten there. The last visit--at lunchtime--the service was a little sketchy, but I hope that was just a momentary glitch. Try their Spinach Clam Chowder on Fridays. It's fabulous!

On my first try with place a year ago, I had some very fishy bad salmon on a salad that I sent back. My, how it has changed! I went again with friends because they now have some gluten free items on the menu. They even offer gf pizza! Well, I thought for this second chance I would go with something easy so I ordered gf hummus and assumed I would only get veggies. The server said we have gf bread, if you want. Imagine my surprise when a platter of warm, yummy gf bread came surrounding delicious garlicy hummus with cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives. Mmmmmmmm yummy! It was seriously good! Even my non gf friend said it was good. I'm super impressed and I told the server and thanked her. She recommended the pizza next time and told me how hard they worked perfecting their dough. I only gave it 4 stars because of the first experience there, but it could easily go to 5. Food aside, I like the atmosphere and the cheap happy hour appetizers, like a $5 menu. They charge $2 extra for gf bread, but my whole meal with a drink came to $10+ tip.

What a disappointment. I've been going to Europa for years, and I've always enjoyed the food, the service, and the decor. Eating there has always been a treat. But I ate there a few weeks ago, and I was sorry to see that the menu has been reduced to little more than pizza, calzone, and pasta and chicken dishes. (The dinner menu used to be quite adventurous.) I ordered an Alfredo dish, and it was gooey, unappetizing, and tasteless. Even the bread was soggy and sad. (They used to serve great sourdough and wheat rolls.) And to top it off, the Key Lime pie was kind of a scary olive color, it was much too sweet, and the crust was mushy. The service was excellent, the salad was delicious, and the decor was fine. I wrote to the manager to let him/her know about the problems I encountered, and s/he never even bothered to answer. I won't go back until I hear that the restaurant is under new management.

Europa has some of the BEST desserts that I have ever had. I still fondly remember my first time here: we had a delicious dinner and then....they brought this huge tray with beautiful, delicious looking pies and cakes. Of we had to try them and I've never regretted it (my hips my have a different opinion). I've been back here several times. Everything is delicious and the service here was always great. They also have a little lounge area that is very comfortable. There's a desk with the drawers filled with napkins with all kinds of interesting things sprawled upon them. It's a very entertaining process to go through them. Definitely go here for a nice night downtown!

Europa is one of those places that I don't have anything negative to say but rarely eat there. It's very cozy...especially the bar. I love to grab a drink with at night with my husband and then follow it up with coffee. It is a very enjoyable experience. The menu is primarily Italian. Lots of pasta dishes and pizza. I've ordered a salad once and while it was good, I'll think I'll stick with pasta in the future. I love the seafood manicotti. It's delicious. As I said earlier, there I can't really find anything bad to say about Europa. But we very rarely come here. I guess compared to the rest of Spokane's downtown restaurants, we'd rather eat somewhere else.

It is a nice, cozy place on a dark street. I ordered the soup of the day and the vegetarian linguine. Both were great. The pasta was loaded with crisp veggies but lacked a little flavor. After a good amount of parm, crushed red pepper and salt, it was good to go. The portion was gigantic and for a total of $18, including some tea, it was a pretty good meal. Service was extremely friendly. It was pretty dead in there and they encouraged me to stay and read, which made me feel better about dining alone in a family-like restaurant.

My boyfriend and I chose Europa for an anniversary date, and it was exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of classy and cozy. We both had trouble deciding what to order, as everything sounded delicious. When I finally decided on the manicotti, I was left debating whether to try the sweet red pepper cream sauce or the basil pesto cream sauce. To my delight, the waitress told me I could choose two sauces and that she would even have the cook split the dish into two separate plates - before I even had a chance to ask. The service was great. It took longer than I like to wait before anyone came to greet us and take our drink orders when we were seated, but after that, everything was very well-timed. The waitress who was serving us was very friendly and very helpful with her suggestions, which she followed up on by checking to see if we were pleased with them after they'd been served. The wine and food were both very satisfying, and reasonably priced. When we were paying our bill, we were the last two people in the restaurant and our waitress asked us if we were going back to the same house. We replied that we were, and she came back with a to-go container of two small chocolate desserts, which she gave to us free of charge. It was such a sweet gesture that really made an already great experience exceptional. We'll definitely come back for future special occasions, and we're recommending Europa to everyone we know.

I went there with a coworker for a long lunch. It was raining and we couldn't find parking. I dropped her off and had to run through the rain, it reminded me of a scene from a movie, maybe 9 and a 1/2 weeks? I dunno. It was the perfect beginning for a lovely lunch at Europa. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and just ate with out hands mostly. The baked escargots, the manilla clams, the calimari, cheese puffs, and other yummies were perfect! The deserts were fantastic! Absolutely scrumptious!!! I had the Bailey's Irish Cream Cheescake because a friend recommended it, I am not much of a cheesacake lover, but that was absolutely orgasmic! Seriously! I could just live there, under the bridge and gorge on this cheesecake. Forget my husband, job, brushing my hair... just give up my identity if I could have it everyday! Well, realist that I am, I would get bored, it would stop being special, and I would miss my salon hair products, but still, when it's a treat, it is delightful! The interior decor was a little too Victorian for my taste, but it does radiate that old European charm, not the edgy, contemporary Europe I know now. It was lunch time, and oddly, there were not too many people there. The waitress was attentive and not too overbearing. Just perfect! I'm looking for someone to go with me again.... lol (I'll take my husband there for dinner, but anyone want to meet me there for lunch? lol)

I had the spinach clam chowder. It was most the delightful surprise. It was so good I could have made a meal of it. My entree, manila clams and fettucini, was pretty good and the portion was substantial. My boyfriend had the baked spaghetti and he enjoyed it. I understand they are known some really great desserts. We split the carrot cake and it was not at all impressive. The decor is typical but the wait staff was very attentive.

I went to Europa with my husband for a nice night out. I love the small restaurant ambiance that they create by having multiple seating areas. We did not get to experience the train passing over so I cannot speak to the disruption. The food was good. My husband had the ravioli with the garlic pesto cream sauce and it was delicious. I had the chicken parmesan, which was good, but not excellent. We both began the meal with the minestrone which was really delicious. The service was acceptable. Overall, it was a good dining experience that I would definitely repeat.

I like Europa because it is a place to go in the evening when you want to just hang out with your friends, maybe have some dessert, a drink, or some coffee. The bar area is comfy with different chairs and couches to lounge around on. I haven't had the food in a long time, but from what I remember it is pretty good. Oh, and the desserts are yummy. I love the tollhouse cookie pie. Mmmm....pie.....

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
