My husband and I enjoyed a lovely brunch here on the morning of our wedding day - just the two of us - and it couldn't have been a better way to begin our special day. We dined in their outdoor patio, which I highly recommend if weather permits, it's quiet and cozy and makes for a nice ambiance in my opinion. The food was spectacular - from griddled cornbread to fried eggs and french toast to pork belly, everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. And to make the occasion extra special, they provided us with drinks and a tasty pastry at no additional charge. I look forward to coming back the next time we're in town.

The pros: beautifully decorated restaurant In a former residence. Helpful and friendly staff. Varied menu. The cons: high prices and small portions. We ordered a sandwich hold the meat and a salad add chicken. Instead of putting the meat from the sandwich on the salad, they charged us full price for the sandwich and $7 to add chicken to the salad. That doesn't sit right with me.

I had a wonderful lunch here. I hope I can return; this is a place I would love to share with Rebecca. I ordered a melon salad; it included avocado and feta. It was very good. I paired it with gazpacho soup. It had a wonderful bite to it. It had great spice and texture. This is a great spot. Glad I wandered in.

Best brunch, highly recommend!!! My husband and I started with a Bloody Mary, that came with yummy accompaniments! Then I got the turkey bacon sandwich, and he had the Reuben sandwich. Both were delicious. Cute atmosphere and great service!!

I wanted to love this place for dinner! I came for appetizers and drinks a few months and had a great time and great food. However tonight my Birthday was a little disappointing. The service was great! But I'm not talking about service. My boys (18 and 20) were left hungry with their choice of the Ravioli, so sad that the girls had to split their dinner with them to satisfy, come on it's ravioli you can give more than six! My Halibut was lukewarm but had good flavor. The chicken dish was great but again my daughter split her dish to help feed the boys. Last one, when you serve bread to your guest you may want to make sure there is enough for the table, four pieces for a table of five? Cute place, very nice service, not please with the portions or the lukewarm meal.

MY BEST OF BRUNCH SPOKANE OPEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 10:00-2:00pm We came to Clover for Father's Day Brunch. We made reservations a few weeks in advance for our party of 7 (with highchair). The phone call to set up the reservation was very pleasant! When we arrived they had everything set up for us- including the highchair- at a lovely patio table. It was shaded and had gorgeous foliage, potted plants and a fountain nearby. It felt really special and classy. I couldn't have anything else for my dear Dad! I love Clover for brunch because they had something for everyone on the menu and it is at a more affordable price point. We were able to try a fun egg white cocktail (So very New Orleans) in addition to their innovative and tasty brunch interpretations. Overall every dish had some unique twist and a focus on flavor (I could tell the ingredients and herbs were fresh and carefully chosen). Service was gracious, friendly and thoughtful. I will be back.

Just had a fabulous lunch. The food was so fresh and tasty. We ordered the house special, and every bite was delicious. We sat on the patio and just loved the ambience. The wait staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

I checked their menu before heading over and the gnocchi caught my eye, but I wanted something "fancier." The special that night was seared ahi (a personal favorite) on top of, guess what, gnocchi. The flavors were so distinct and each portion of the meal was prepared perfectly. The ahi was seared just enough, without losing that melt-in-your-mouth feel, and carefully seasoned. Best meal in Spokane!

Good food. Wished I ordered something different (bacon burger) but it was also my fault to ask for a medium-well. Asked for little cheese on my sons Mac & Cheese, but it didn't come that way, he still eat it. Husband loved his salad.

What a gem! Spokane is lucky to have this truly artisan restaurant. I took my mom for lunch today and sat on their beautiful patio. Staff is quick to suggest a drink that fits any description as they are bar geniuses, and as for the food, WOW! I had the rueben because I always have it if it is on the menu. My mom had a pomegranate salad which was beautiful and delicious. Before we even got our meal Travis, the chef, brought out one of their new dishes that they will be adding soon. Duck, corn cake topped with aioli. Amazing! I've been before and will be back! They have a spectacular BRUNCH as well. Enjoy!

Drove through Spokane at breakfast time, mid-road trip. There was an hour wait at Frank's Diner -- enter Yelp -- and voila -- Clover! There was no wait, they take reservations, and the food was amazing! We sat on the patio, which is beautiful and sunny. It's in a gorgeous craftsman house that gives it a nice ambiance (kind of like Tilth, for any Seattlites reading this). They have their own bakery, so we started our breakfast off with some fresh pinwheels. The "huevos rotos" or "broken eggs" were amazing! Eggs served on top of some freshly-made, soft-but-still-crispy-on-the edges potato chips scrambled with some chorizo. Definitely won at life by finding this place. It's awesome that Spokane has a place like this!

Love this place! My favorite thing to order is the Clover famous brick chicken. It is always cooked to perfection. The chicken is flavorful and moist. They make delicious drinks and I love that they bring you fresh bread that is baked in the cute house in the back of the restaurant. They also have seasonal butters that are so creative. When I went, it was honey and shallot. Overall, one of my favorite restaurant in Spokane.

Pretty good, but only had lunch. Been hearing so much about brunch but they only offer on weekends, wah-wah. Bacon came on my burger ordered WITHOUT bacon but they made up for it with a comp'd dessert.

Hot dang. Clover is a fantastic restaurant, so happy to discover this gem in the Gonzaga neighborhood. A great choice for taking out of towners so they can experience awesome regional cuisine and local produce. The chef puts some awesome flavor profiles together and the dishes are a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. I got the chicken breast over the spaetzle with roasted brussel sprouts and delicata squash. Perfect cooked chicken although I have to say the spaetz with the bacon vinaigrette stole the show. Holy smokes. Will definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu. Also, great value. Don't quite understand how they get away with charging so low for such high quality food.

The overall experience was pleasant and welcoming even if the food was a bit of a disappointment. Ordered a sazerac which came with a big lemon peel, overwhelming the taste of one of my fav cocktails. Mentioned it to the server and he brought me the book they got recipe from. The rabbit dish ordered by my mom was absolutely delicious-tender and flavorful. Thanks for letting me have a bite, mom! The pork belly I ordered was so overcooked, so dry that I did not finish it. Our server noticed and took that off the bill, without me asking. I appreciated him bring so quick to ask why I didn't enjoy the food and his willingness to listen. I will definitely go back because second chances are a good thing to give. Besides, the dessert of Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlet was delish!

Dear Liz M. You are not doing yourself, or this restaurant any favors by contacting yelpers and telling them to "rethink" their reviews or that they are "mistaken" about their experiences. You will not bully people into changing how they feel about the service and or food that they receive. As for telling me to watch my language and telling my friends they were wrong about their experience... F*** OFF.

Had a wonderfully delicious salad for lunch, outdoors on the patio, under an umbrella (for the sun - the weather, though a bit windy, was really near perfect) --- so all in all a great atmosphere, and good food.

  • Johnathan R.

The staff was amazingly attentive and the food was superb. Had the chef's specials and will definitely be returning to Clover. More of an adult restaurant than family style or kids. While the staff did everything to keep the kids happy, they are more used to yellow Mac and cheese as opposed to the delicious homemade kind with white cheddar. Otherwise it was the perfect meal.

I had brunch here on Sunday after Bloomsday, sat outside with my friends and it was the perfect place to be. The food was so good, the drinks were delish and refreshing. They have Pimm's Cup, which is one of my favorite cocktails! The service was great, and I couldn't have asked for a better outdoor seating area. I will come here every chance I get when I am in Spokane again.

Enter Clover--a quaint little house-turned restaurant across from Jack and Dan's in the GU district on Hamilton--the first time I thought, maybe there is a place for fine dining in Spokane. There was Santé and Mizuna, places with great service, ambition, and ambiance, yet tragically lacking the most important characteristic of a great restaurant, gastronomy that works. And while many others places like Luna and etc. may be a favorite of many Spokanites, none of them ever really struck a chord with me, until Clover. It's nothing you've ever tasted before. Months ago, I had the Veal Piccata with house made pappardelle. When I closed my eyes, I wondered, "Where am I?" Is this really Spokane? Have we finally grown up from Tomato Street and Mcdonalds (Not dissing on Tomato Street, but you get my point)? Yes it's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it. I've also came back for lunch. The pork sandwich was great, and I'm excited to see what else their menu has to offer. I also recommend their French Onion soup. Not very cheesy, but the seasoning and flavor is just right. Drinks are a hit and miss. I'd take the gamble though. Had a drink that tasted like cherry cough syrup, but also had one that was phenomenal--their Amaretto Sour, which they mix with egg whites. My friends and I have tried quite a few of their drinks, but this one still reigns champion.

Clover is right up there with Churchills and Wild Sage for competition for my favorite restaurant in Spokane, WA. The outdoor seating, on-site bakery and the vegetable garden contribute to Clover's awesomeness. I've visited for brunch, lunch and for dinner and have never been let down. The chef pays special attention to details and will honor your special requests. This is really a Spokane gem.

Best menu in Spokane. Inspired menu and engaged staff at a cool location. They source local ingredients wherever possible and menu changes often. The chef here must be and up and comer because this is as good as any place I try in SF or Seattle.

Great brunch menu, with a very cute patio. I had the crab melt omelette , it was good , but very rich. Their on site bakery makes amazing breads. I will return for sure, so many menu items left to try.

Lovely meal in a lovely atmosphere. I had the brick roasted chicken which was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. I'm not sure it's quite a $$ - more of a $$$ if you're going for a full experience there but well worth the money.

This is a unique restaurant set in a cute 2-story house. They make all of their own bread, which is very delicious. I was travelling in Spokane for business and stopped in here for lunch with my coworkers. I got the soup/salad combo while my cohorts got the rueben and burger. Everyone raved about their meals and we plan on going back to this restaurant next year.

We've been here twice and both times have been an exceptional meal. The drinks are refreshing. The iced tea is mildly flavored with love. Get yourself here now. Don't miss out on this amazing establishment. The outside patio/fence area is beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

We ate here based on the reviews from Yelp. It was very warm and inviting place to eat with a nice wine selection and food that sounds appealing. I had the Clover Salad with mixed greens, Pecorino Romano, spiced candied pecans, citrus vinaigrette, and the Fire-Roasted Tomato Bisque. The food was terrific and the service was outstanding. We would absolutely eat here again next time we are through the area.

I try to like Clover, but the sum of the experience is too often less than the price of the parts. In a word, overpriced and sometime overreaching in the combinations and in attempting unique recipes. I've noticed women love it more than do most men. Tonight, even before it got busy, the service was slow. As has become universal, the bread doesn't come until after the appetizers are ordered. The featured appetizer was a quinoa/ahi. Turned out to be a deep-fried ground tuna croquette and I'd have never a clue ahi was involved. It came with avocado slices and aoli. Very tasty, but a waste of ahi. They've even changed their tomato bisque recipe, which was always good. Now, it's dark and strong, using fire-roasted tomatoes. Neither my wife or I will order it again. My wife had the Idaho Ruby Trout, pickle-brined and cornmeal fried, roasted poblano hush puppies, chile vinaigrette, roasted squash, avocado, chiles, and pepitas. A mish-mash of too many ingredients, none identifiable. The hushpuppies were too done dark brown outside and still a bit underdone inside. I had the chicory salad - definitely a palate cleanser. Endive, frisee, radicchio, crispy pancetta, pickled pear, walnut, herbs, pecorino vinaigrette; again a combination which didn't quite jell. Very acidic, bitter and if there was pancetta, I didn't notice it.

We just got home from our Fathers Day Dinner here at Clover. It is a very unique change of pace. We totally enjoyed our whole experience tonight. We both had the amazing Bloody Mary's . OMG they are the bomb. They come with 2 stuffed green olives, a piece of pickled asparagus ,and a piece/mini slab of the best beef jerky ever. We had the fried artichokes which I liked more than he did. Hubby got the Ribeye and I got the filet , both very good, maybe a little under seasoned but very tender and cooked to perfection. The filet came with a Potatoes Romanoff that had the flavor of my childhood favorite Noodles Romanoff. So good.... The service was top notch from start to finish, and we are looking forward to coming back many times.

Clover is amazing! I don't even know where to start. Atmosphere: Light, summery, refreshing, welcoming. I was wearing a Seahawks shirt and hoodie, my boyfriend was wearing a U of I shirt. We didn't feel out of place or underdressed, but this is a place that you can easily walk into wearing something a little nicer than a Seahawks shirt after a night on the town. 5/5 starts. Food: The food is incredible. I got the Dungeness Crab Omelet for only $12. I think that is a steal of a price for a crab omelet. I was expecting a $15 or $16 dish. Unless they used imitation crab to save money, which I highly doubt they did because it sure didn't taste like imitation. Home made english muffin and home made beef jerky in my boyfriend bloody mary. 5/5 starts. Service: Our server was friendly, fast, not too over bearing but checked on us enough time to make us feel like customers. She did a wonderful job. 5/5 starts. They had a pretty impressive bar selection behind the counter. Also, a super cute outdoor seating area that was huge! I will definitely be heading back to Clover for breakfast, lunch, or a late night cocktail the next time I'm in Spokane! Clover would be perfect for either a first date or date night with your honey and you two are looking to try something new and explore the neighborhood.

I came here for the Inlander Restaurant Week. I was surprised at how cute and cozy the restaurant looked (from the outside) and enjoyed the atmosphere as it was located snug in the neighbourhood. We chose all the set menu items, we tried the pork chop and this special pasta tower lasagna looking item. (Forgot the name) The pork chop was excellent, with the nice fall aromas of apple. The pasta tower (mixed with bechamel, lamb and beef and layers of home made pasta) looked little for its size but was extremely rich. I was full at the fifth bite. It was okay, but not the best. The desserts were hands down spectacular! There were many different selections but I ended up with the chocolate caramel ganache and my brother with the orangesicle cake. Delicious! All in all, I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the food was great and I can't wait to come back! All the wine and spirits paired nicely with the food and customer service was excellent. Everyone asked how we were doing and our waiter was professional and great at explaining the items on the menu.

This place is a classy spot just around the corner from Gonzaga. Had a cocktail and appetizer at the bar. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Are the salmon cakes, which were delicious.

We ate here last night as part of Inlander's Restaurant week, we had a wonderful experience! We came early to have drinks in the bar, the bartender was very informative and helpful, recommending drinks for each of our different preferences. The drinks were definitely the best I've had in Spokane (I don't claim to be an expert on cocktails, but I do have a fair share of them!). The food didn't disappoint either, I had the mushroom soup to start, the pork chop as a main and the dark chocolate cheesecake to finish. I loved that the food was executed very well (the pork chop was perfectly cooked!) but was not pretentious, it was just the kind of comfort food you want for a cold winter evening.

I had dinner this evening at Clover with my son and his teammate (17 year olds). I'm taking the time tonight because of an exceptional meal on all levels. I called around 6:45PM for reservations and requested outdoor seating. The gentleman answering said he would have a table for us at 7:15PM. We were greet on arrival by name and handed off to what can only be called an amazing waitress. She made the experience a treat for all three of us with her infectious personality. My mojito cocktail was very good. The boys had bar-made sodas that they both rated as great. I followed with a nice glass of Malbec. We all had the gazpacho, it was perfect on an 80 degree night. I had a extremely well presented crusted Alaskan halibut. The crust was nicely crunchy and the fish was moist and flavorful. Highly recommend. Both boys had the Timballo and love it for its flavor and portion size. These are big kids and they couldn't finish it but have leftovers now. Our waitress seduced us into the deserts and thankfully we went there. My berries and meringue cookie with whipped cream was great. My son's first experience with their home made Spumoni hooked him. His friend called himself a Tiramisu expert and gave Clover's double thumbs up. During our entire dinner on the very nice outdoor seating area a talent female vocalist with guitar sang familiar hits. What a treat. Every once in a while I stumble across a place where people truly love their work and it creates a special experience. This little gem would be highly successful in Seattle or San Francisco. I highly recommend!

A friend and I went to dinner during Restaurant Week 2015. I have been to Clover on other occasions, one of those being RW 2014. Up until last Friday, I have had lovely meals at Clover. And, although this last experience was okay, I felt let down. We both ordered off the RW menu. When the soup arrived tepid, I was surprised. But since it was savory and flavorful, I found it "ok". The fish I ordered was done perfectly and I give it high marks. The orangesicle cake, a personal favorite, was selected by both of us. It was as light and delicate as ever. So, all in all, the meal was enjoyable. My complaint is that the wait staff was intrusive. I counted a total of 6 times our conversation was interrupted by the repeated question: "How was it?" or "Is everything alright?" When you consider that we were there for about an hour, our conversation was interrupted every ten minutes. And when I say interrupted, that is what I mean. We would be in mid-sentence when one of these questions would be injected into our speaking. I don't recall this happening any other time I have been to the restaurant. It spoiled an otherwise pleasant meal.

Great place. Service was astounding, dessert (tiramisu) delicious, and atmosphere super cute. Definitely will go back.

The bloody is where I will start. Good g-d almighty that was a strong bloody! But I was happy lol. The in house beef jerky with pickled asparagus and blue cheese stuffed green olives as garnish made it amazing! The food was good! Loved the fresh fruit blackberries and pineapple! The eggs were over cooked but I have to say the thick cut bacon and the rosemary potatoes were tasty. Too bad the potatoes lacked a real prominent rosemary flavor. Everyone was happy when we left a definite try again. The ambiance of the place was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was friendly and chatted with us a lot so it was nice. It's hard to find a good Sunday brunch place in Spokane so I was happy to find this gem.

My husband & I wanted a quick bite early on a Sunday evening. The staff was amazing at accommodating our request for a speedy snack. We shared the Clover salad & artichoke dungeness dip - both were AMAZING! The patio was beautiful & eloquent feeling (especially with the restaurant located near a busy road & college). The cocktails looked gorgeous & the beer was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Friendly service, great food! This will be a regular place we eat when we are in the Spokane area. The bacon wrapped "Stuffed Chicken Breast" was AMAZING. The wife had the "White Linen" cocktail that had a refreshing cucumber flavor. Best restaurant we had in Spokane these past 3 days.

I've been here 3 times and I want so much to like Clover. However, the prices outshine the food. Halibut with black rice tasted like a piece of fish with rice. It didn't have the flavors of a dish that should come together and compliment the different components. In short, boring. Best part is the bar which I would be happy to frequent if there were more than like 5 seats.

Shared a stuffed artichoke with a friend and had the clover salad. Nice atmosphere, very good service - attentive but not cloying. The clearly mark gluten free foods on the menu - very helpful. Unfortunately they do not offer gluten free bread service to the table, so while most guests would have had bread with their meal, we did not. The artichoke was VERY good. The salad was quite plain and a bit oily and over dressed.

Really nice, great service and atmosphere. We went for Mother's Day brunch and it was really good we sat outside under the tented canopy with heaters. The food was really good, however a little on the small side for the price, but we didn't leave hungry either. I will definitely go again and would like to try dinner.

My wife and I met some friends for dinner and had a great time. It is in an old two story house and has a great feel, very quaint and comfortable. Our waiter has been there since they opened and was very enthusiastic and informative. My wife ordered a special drink recommended by the waiter and it was very good. The house red wine was very good. I had the Beef Wellington and it was fantastic, medium rare and the crust was flaky and delicious. We finished off the meals with their Petite Bites dessert menu and it was just enough. We can't wait for the weather to get nice so we can come back and hit the outdoor tables. A great find and we will be back.

Tries very hard but misses in too many areas to make it a stellar experience. Drinks - were probably some of the best we've had in Spokane restaurants - kudos. 5 Stars Service - Average, nothing really wrong but nothing super stellar 3 Stars APP Salad - Meh, we ordered a grilled asparagus salad, it contained 3 spears of cold asparagus that had been grilled earlier in the day. The salad had too much dressing and too little asparagus, certainly not worth ordering again. 1.5 Stars Entrees Cioppino - Was supposed to be served with Gilroy Garlic Bread which was forgotten, we had to ask the server for it. Overall this entrée was enjoyable but nothing superlative, the broth was good but not enough tomatoes or onions. We've both had better and worse Cioppino so it was in the middle of the pack. 3 Stars Veal Saltimbocca - Poor, veal was overcooked, tough and not enjoyable. The prosciutto inside was cheap and it was virtually devoid of sage leaves. The homemade pasta was OK but overcooked and the wild mushrooms were mostly button and a few crimini. 1.5 Stars After the lackluster dinners we decided to skip dessert. They have some promise, nice location, beautiful garden dining experience, good drinks, what looks like a decent menu. But they need to focus on their food and service to make this place a quality destination. Total Score = 2.8 Stars Bottom Line: At these prices I expect a much better execution on the food and service. C'mon guys you can do it.

First time at Clover. Patio was extremely enjoyable and food was incredible! Service was great but not overbearing. Drinks were strong and delicious. Great ambiance. Had the rib eye steak with Gorgonzola and it was cooked to perfection. Salad was light and refreshing. Live music to boot! Definitely returning.

Went here tonight as a part of restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised. The place is intimate and charming and located in a quaint old house. The service was spectacular but not over the top uncomfortable. The food was amazing in looks and taste. Ordered the mushroom soup, wild halibut, and salted Carmel ganache dessert. The mushroom soup came out in a little cup with approx two tablespoons of mushrooms in the bottom. Then the waiter poured the soup from little individual tea pots into the cup. Super cute idea. The soup had a lot of depth and layers of flavor with a light earthy herbal aftertaste. Wonderful! The table bread is made at clover and was so moist and dense, it was almost like a pound cake. My halibut was cooked perfectly soft and flaky. The dessert was small but I'm not sure if that was because of restaurant week. What the dessert lacked in size was made up for in flavor. So rich and sweet and salty. Anymore and I would had gotten diabetes. Everything was perfect! Scoped out many other peoples food and it all looked amazing. The drink menu is overwhelming in that so many of the drinks sounded delicious. My my server was very gracious and took the time to explain many of the drinks to me and what was involved in each. My only complaint is that my stomach doesn't have the greatest capacity. I was painfully stuffed and had to take my dessert togo. Will be back soon!

Been here twice. This is an oasis in the desert of Spokane. I have only had the pastas but they are well done and a realistic portion size. Clover salad very reliable. Service is well timed not overbearing. Do not know where a better meal can be found in Spokane. I look forward to every seasonal menu.

Went here for dinner. We were seated near a window in a corner and when we asked to either be moved or have the heat turned up we were denied both, even though there were open tables. I had to eat with my jacket on the whole time. Service was slow and we were checked on only once during our meal. The food itself was overcooked and bland. The whole experience was sub par, which is too bad because we had heard such great things.

Great addition to the GU district. French onion soup was delicious, as was the "house" salad. Very cute house that has been remade into a restaraunt. Quite little areas for small groups and a nice windowed area in the front of the house that will be perfect during the winter. Lots of outdoor patio seating with umbrellas and heaters to keep you shaded and warm. The fresh squeezed lemonade with cucumber and sage was refreshing out in the sun. Anxious to visit for dinner sometime.

The Halibut was PERFECT, the service was IDEAL, and the experience was memorable. Thank you to all the Clover staff, especially Brian, our server, who helped us have a wonderful night with a friend from out of town & Grandma. Here's to many more great nights!

Birthday dinner here last night! Excellent choice, great drinks and service. Even though out waiter (who was also the bartender) forgot to put our order in. They totally made up for it with service and apologies! We were given yummy salads to tide us over and free desserts. They even let us take home some of their amazing cranberry pistachio bread on our way out! Our dinner was amazing with everything cooked to perfection! We will be back for sure!

Amazing patio for summer lounging. I would have rated this higher if they had more veggie options and larger portions. I ordered the portabello burger (B) and fries, it seriously came with 5 potato sticks. As soon as the food arrived the waitstaff disappeared for 20 min, leaving me without ketchup and a side salad that was ordered. They have a lot of strengths and a second visit might bump their rating to a 4 start. They make many soda's on site, I had a ginger lime soda (B+) which was mega refreshing.

We visited Clover on a Saturday evening, and despite not having a reservation were able to secure a table on the patio. Although it was chilly, heaters and blankets were provided, and the venue was quite lovely. Cocktails were on point, and an extensive children's menu was much appreciated. Unfortunately, our waitress failed to write down our order and our salads were forgotten. Our entrees arrived after an extensive wait, and my chicken dish was terribly overdone and dry. I had high hopes for Clover, and think potential exists, but much work needs to be done to provide food and service commensurate with their prices.

Clover is OVER THE TOP FABULOUS! Great ambiance, love sitting on the patio. Server Lynette was as good as they come. Everything we ordered was amazing from drinks (we had martinis), appetizers LOVED the homemade pretzel (housemade soft pretzels with extra-sharp cheddar cheese sauce), salads so fresh and great flavors, entrees ( tofu w/ housemade pappardelle pasta, seasonal vegetables, olive oil, garlic, butter, Pecorino Romano, Gilroy garlic crostini, hubby had halibut (pine nut & panko-crusted wild Alaskan halibut, port wine reduction, mango salsa, black forbidden rice steamed in coconut milk ). Dessert was perfect end to perfect evening. it was our 25th anniversary and the staff went above and beyond making us feel very special. THANK YOU CLOVER for making our evening unforgettable. I have never been to Clover for dinner but their breakfast and lunch are both excellent. The staff are quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every time I have come for lunch they are busy, but I am always seated quickly. The seating here is great. The tables both indoor and outdoor are comfortable and large. They don't stick 2-tops in a tiny corner with a mini-table which is nice since many places have the habit of doing that. For breakfast, I would suggest the brioche french toast with the vanilla syrup and fruit compote. The whole medley melts in your mouth. When you take a bite, you feel like the mouse from "Ratatouille" in that scene where he's chewing and colors are exploding everywhere. Ya... I just said that, and it's that good. If you want lunch, the turkey & bacon sandwich on the homemade bread is a solid choice. The tomato bisque is an excellent side as well. Lastly, the fresh squeezed OJ - totally worth the five bucks. These guys get great reviews for a reason.... eat here!

Lots of staff that greet you with a glare as they look up from playing candy crush, then leave you to wait for an hour before they take your order. The food is okay not worth $175 for 4.

Jag dinner at Clover today at friend's recommendation. Bib and Blue salad was very good. However, we were disappointed with the paella. Not like any I've eaten. All meat and shellfish was cut into tiny pieces. Certainly not worth the $28 price. Service excellent though so I'd try them again.

Impressive, but Expected. I had heard only good things about Clover since its Opening almost a year ago. I am a huge fan of the space. i absolutely love old houses, and it definitely lends to the throwback vibe I am looking for from a cocktail bar/upscale restaurant. The staff was very helpful, Polite and accommodating. What really made the place shine though was the cocktails. The brandy crusta in particular was amazing. Being a huge fan of classic cocktails, I was not let down in the least bit. The bartender was even able to make me something not on the menu like most good establishments should and it turned out exactly as described. The food was also delicious. The bib and blue was fresh and ilvely and paired well with my death in the afternoon, and the orange creamsicle cake was delectable and melted in my mouth. I will definitely be returning to Clover!

Went there with friends and it was one of the best meals we have all had in a long time. The bartender, who was also our waiter was very friendly And knowledgable about the menu. His feedback to our questions were answered honestly and turn out to be true. Great cocktail choices. Asparagus salad was awesome. Will definitely go back.

Service: Excellent. Friendly people, efficient wait staff. Atmosphere: Cool old house. Nice conversion. It had a fairly intimate feel. Food: Missed the mark by a little bit all the way through the meal. The salmon cake appetizers were ok, but the salmon in them was almost a pate', and resulted in a strange texture combination between it and the crust around it. The mushroom soup had good flavor, but had a consistency resembling thin oatmeal, and was lukewarm. The french onion soup was average - overly heavy, rich broth and too little onion flavor. The chicken ravioli was good. The gnocchi dumplings would probably have been fine, but they were too large to be cooked through consistently, so they ended up being mashed potato balls. Both entrees were very rich. This restaurant is on the verge of being impressive, but seems to be suffering from a lack of attention to detail. On a completely unrelated note, David Pendergraft was having dinner at the table next to ours, and we were impressed with the way he conducted himself with the GU fans (it was a game night) in the room who wanted his attention. Go Zags!

This is actually my first YELP review ever and probably my only one for awhile. This is a testament to how awesome this place is. The ambiance, service, and food is by far the best in the area. Colleen and Justin are always so friendly to us and treat us like we're the only customers every time we come in, regardless of how busy it is. That alone earns our loyalty, but it helps that the food is fantastic too. The uniqueness of the restaurant itself is unlike anything you'll find on the west coast. Austin is the only other place I've ever been where there is a remodeled house for a restaurant and a bar. Maybe they exist in other places, but I've never seen or heard of them. Brunch, lunch, dinner, whatever. It's always great. Try the pretzel. The best and cheapest item on the menu. Ribeye is great for dinner and corned beef and hash for brunch. Don't pass this place up.

How has it taken me two years of living in Spokane to finally make it to Clover?!! We went for dinner on the patio and enjoyed live music, phenomenal food and a great atmosphere. This place is the real deal. Fabulous food and great waitstaff. Dinner is high-end (i.e. pricey) so don't come here expecting to leave with a bill under $50. Their cocktails are delicious and they have a decent beer/wine selection. The patio is fanstastic and we peaked inside as well...their space is well appointed. Want to impress the in-laws? Need a date night idea? Just want to treat yourself to great food in a beautiful location? Then you should try Clover.

To start, the ceasar salad was expertly done with a small sliver of anchovy. However, the lamb agrodolce was tasteful, but dry. The tiramisu was semi flavorful but had a pudding like texture to it. The most important aspect though, in my opinion was the bartender. Whom was absolutely fantastic in both mixology and service. If this was Carrabbas, I would rate it at five stars. However, it presents itself as much more. Thus, I expect, much more.

I have a friend who lives just up the street, so we come here often, and Clover has never disappointed. I've been for both dinner and brunch multiple times, and would only waste time raving about how great everything can be. The service was always friendly and prompt, the food always perfect, with the exception of the veal, which has been mentioned in at least one other review, and while good, wasn't what I had been expecting based upon my other meals. On the other end, I always order the french toast for brunch because it can't be beat, and the Dungeness Crab, Spinach & Artichoke Dip is something my friend always orders for a starter. The seasonal menu changes offer wonderful variety. The drinks speak for themselves, Clover has some of the best, if not the best drinks in Spokane. The drink menu is consistent, creative, and has something for everyone. One thing I might be careful of is the live music they occasionally have, if you're sitting downstairs near the musician in the winter it can be loud, and impeding to conversation, they have these nights and times listed on their website normally and you can always call and ask for a quieter table if you make a reservation (which I'd suggest, especially if Gonzaga University is having an event), they aim to please.

Amazing service! Lunch portions were ample. Food was amazing but soup was just ok. Bloody marry was the best I've had since moving back to Spokane. Will be going back for dinner soon! P.S. I am very critical of food:) I would be willing to give this place 5 stars after my return for dinner is complete.

Clover is an elegant-casual, gourmet-homey Spokane treat. The atmosphere is intimate and sensual. I've had a spectacular full course dinner with drinks and dessert, lunch twice and a mid-summer afternoon indulgence in the ginger-mint limeade. The food is soul-satisfying and you have to go back just to experience the many breakfast nooks and cozy alcoves not to mention the outdoor garden dining.

Drinks here are great and the appetizer's good, wait staff is friendly, the place is attractive and that's where the good ends. It took 2 hours for 4 of us to get our meals, and no wait staff noticed. When our food did arrive one meal was so burned it was black in places and the others cold. I have eaten here 4 times and all four they had serious service issues. I would skip dinner here and go for lunch it seems to be the best service of the day.

We are always looking for a good meal and we are generally left wanting. We decided to try Clover tonight. It was wonderful. Great service and a great meal. Our waitress was very well versed in the food and described it all very well and made wonderful recommendations. We started with shrimp and polenta. Complex flavors and just spot-on. We had a very simple salad that was very good - and simple. I think it was the Clover salad - no fuss, but great basic ingredients. We moved on to our main course - beef wellington for hubby - and OMG it was D-Licious! Again, complex and deep flavors that make your mouth sing! AHHHH!!! So incredibly wonderful and satisfying. These were well developed and not your average wellington. I am already craving it and it's only been 30 minutes and I am stuffed. I ordered the halibut. Also very well developed flavors, complex and just delightful. Well prepared with plenty of sauce. All of the food was done well. All was deep in flavor and we will definitely be back. Big recommendation.

I've been dying to go here! After much patience I convinced my husband to go here for appetizers and cocktails! We went on a Friday night with no reservations and were thrilled to be seated immediately on the patio! Their cocktail menu is awesome! I'm not a gin drinker at all nor my hubs, but we were convinced by the server to get cocktails with gin and we were both very pleased! I'm looking forward to our next visit when we'll do dinner!

Had appetizers here for a tapas-type dinner on Sat 8/4....nice weather out on the patio, very cool atmosphere. Food had a few hits and some misses. First, I have to say the cocktails are yummy! Then, you have to have the artichoke app. Very Yum! The fried green tomatoes were a special when we were thee and they were very good. All in soon, a decent dinner. Give it a try.

Had brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. Service was really slow and forgetful and the food was inconsistent... some quite good, some really so-so. This may be because they're newly opened, but I'm going to wait a few months before I try again.

Thank goodness for places like Clover! The food and ingredients are local and of the best quality. The lamb and beef burgers are both great! I also enjoyed the Basque sandwich for lunch (it was big enough to share, really). The old-fashioned cocktails are something to definitely try out. Because they also have a great pastry chef, dessert is delicious so you should definitely end the meal with one or two (and desserts are portioned so they don't make you feel guilty for having a little treat). I tried the chocolate cheesecake and the baklava. I love this place and cannot wait to return to sit on the patio for a delicious and relaxing meal.

Very nice facility, ambiance is great. I had the salmon, it was OK but really not special enough to justify their high prices. Dinner for 4 came to over $180 with tip. My wife had the halibut for $28.00, she reported it was OK as we'll. I liked their selection of the local 12 String BThey need to cut their prices 20% in my opinion.

Had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary with my wife. Even though Clover was extremely busy due to many Gonzaga alumni and fans catching a quality dinner or drink prior to the big home game against SMU, our waiter and the staff remained attentive and responsive. Our meals were delightful and really tasted fresh and thought-out. Everything coordinated well and had very balanced flavor. The Rabbit was awesome. Very lean and light as rabbit should be, but the dish offered some bread at the bottom of the dish that was perfect to nibble on to get just a taste of fat and drippings. I didn't finish the bread portion of the dish, but I was glad it was there to satisfy my desire to indulge just a bit. The wine list was modest, but offered a wide enough variety to find a good pairing for anything on the menu. The cocktail menu was enticing, so maybe we'll venture there upon our next visit. We will definitely be back. Clover is perhaps my new favorite fine dinning spot in Spokane. We will see :) The one thing that could be perceived as a negative, was the street parking and having to park and walk a few blocks, but I rather enjoyed the walk after dinner through the snow with my bride. As long as one expects the short walk, if parking is scarce, one can prepare accordingly and make it part of the experience.

The food is actually pretty good but if you have any issues with diet restrictions or food allergies do not eat here!! Had brunch with my husband here today. Besides waiting over an hour for an omelette and salad they completely disregarded my food allergy requests. I have a gluten and dairy allergy which I stated to the server right off. I ordered a steak sandwich with no bread but served on a salad instead which the server stated was no problem. I ended up with a salad in which they cut up the bread and mixed into the salad. Normally I would have sent it back but since we had waited over an hour and my husband was getting really irritated, I ended up just picking out the bread pieces which for some might not be a big deal but for me could mean me getting really sick on a ride back to Seattle. They did comp my salad, but for me it does not compensate the risk of getting sick. I will not be back.

I love the fact that they can tell you where they get everything in the restaurant. If its not fresh or in season or local or all three, it won't be on the menu. The bar is first rate and so is the food. I love this place.

We tried this place on a recommendation by a friend who grew up in Spokane - great choice. It's located in a old home - the last one before the corner. The people that live next door must love being to walk about 8' to a pretty good restaurant. The decor is pretty cool - liked the lay out a lot - we sat upstairs. The drinks were a tad bit slow - they told us something about a college thing, but I don't know what he was talking about. When they did come, no glass for my beer - a little strange for a place of this calibur. But I am nit-picking. I had the corned beef hash and my wife had some egg dish - I forget, but she loved it. Here's the thing when it comes to corned beef hash for me - I like it shredded vs. cubed, but these were small cubes and it worked. I was a bit disappointed in the small portion size, but the flavor was unbelievable, it just had great spices - these people put a lot of care into their dishes, and you get to enjoy it! For me, if the portions were bigger, this would easily be a 5 star.

Great place for brunch - my favorite place for brunch in all of Spokane County! The frittata is my favorite very rich and flavorful, but then again, everything is!! The pancakes are always worth a try (or even dessert after brunch), because they are rich, malty pancakes, and the tahitian vanilla maple syrup will satisfy your tastebuds!!! Grab one of the bottles of sparkling wine and a cup of orange juice, and make your own mimosas! (you'll save like $5 that way haha). The reason for the 4 stars instead of the 5 is the dinner menu. Rather overpriced, and the novelty of the amazing flavors and food combos wears away when you look at the bill in the end. Amazing place for a weekend brunch. Be sure to ask them for their fresh bread selection - they bake their own breads in the bakery out back! All-around good experience! Great find in the U-district!

The food is impeccable, the service attentive, friendly and knowledgable without being overbearing. I had veal saltimboca with house made paperdele and seasonal veg -- toothsome, savory and full of freshness and flavor. My date had pesto gnocci that was super tender - so soft it literally melted in your mouth. Craft cocktails, exceptional wine and an all star tiramisu made for a memorable meal and enough left over for lunch the next day. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went for our Anniversary and were very pleased by the helpful suggestions by the waitress, as well as the attentiveness to filling our waters and taking our plates. My halibut with mango salsa and forbidden rice was delish. My husband had a salmon special; also filled with delightful flavors. the "petite" desserts made them "doable" when you didn't think you had room for another bite.

Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, amazing cocktail list and the food is delicious and fresh. Nice upscale place near Gonzaga with outdoor seating. Entrees are in the $20 -30 range and cocktails in the $7 - 11 range and made with premium ingredients.

I have hope for this place. The commitment to local ingredients, the atmosphere, and the service were all excellent. It has some growing pains to work out. The NY steak was overcooked; one person in my dinner party who ordered this medium-rare said it was decidedly medium. His sweet potatoes were overcooked and soggy, and may have been cooked the day before. The kebabs were cold when they arrived at our table. The rice, which accompanied the kebabs, was unremarkable, as was the sauce. They were quick to remedy the cold kabab problem, however :) The olive medley appetizer was supposed to be "warm" olives. These were piping hot in temperature (not in seasoning), uncomfortably hot. The shrimp Louie salad was fresh; the shrimp seemed fresh and the dressing was good. The tomatoes had sat in the refrigerator too long. Otherwise, it was easy to eat and presented well. Dessert was unmemorable (the chocolate cheesecake). Among the dinner party of five, one guy said he would not want to eat here again. The other guy cleaned his plate (although he does everywhere). Among the women, one raved and two gave it each a one thumb up. I would definitely go back for a simple salad, the house-made basil pecan bread, and a glass of red wine...and wait to see how the more elaborate dishes improve.

Fantastic service. Ordered some drinks and they actually checked on us after we had tried them to get our feedback. They made suggestions for improving the drink such as bringing me a bit of extra soda water for my gin fizz that worked great! We came for brunch everyone was happy. House salad is awesome. Portabella burger was great as well. Cocktails are quite reasonably priced for value. I will be coming back.

Came here for a "date night" with my girl. The interior is that of a refurbished home with nice wood work an early 19th century lighting fixtures. We started the night with their clam an artichoke dip. Which is very very hot when you first receive it. But with that small warning... It is really good. She had a side rabbit salad an I had the Cesar salad. She really enjoyed hers. Mine was honestly not that remarkable. For the main course she had the Duck dish an I the ribeye. The duck was rich an full flavored. She liked it but was a little off put by the bones still served with it. It wouldn't have bothered me. But I'm half Neanderthal so there's that. Now my steak was good, albeit a little more on the fatty side but that's what you get for ordering that cut of meat. Now the overall experience was nice an this was the second time coming here and to be honest I will be back. It's just a little bit more expensive than the product you receive. Expect to spend around $100 for two people.

A couple of years ago a friend opened a restaurant in Spokane. I have yet to cross the threshold, but have read so many wonderful things about the food and the atmosphere. This week-end some friends were going to be in the area and so I suggested, on faith, that they give it a try. The five star rating is from them.....food was superior, service unsurpassed and they had a cozy, lovely table upstairs. They were thrilled and I am jealous. It is now on my priority list to get my act together and travel to Spokane.....just to eat at Clover. I will keep you posted and give my own personal review soon.!!

I think I found the No. 1 Spokane eatery. Met the manger which explains why this friendly local tasty spot is so delicious. They have there own bakery in back making fresh pasta, bread and more. Even the bar drinks have some homemade touches. Everything we tried was 5 star. The owner at this place better hang on to the manager. He is worth his weight in truffles :-) Thanks much for the tour and background of the place, can't wait to get back to Spokane. Did I just say that out loud?

Excellent service from entry to exit. Our whole group of 10 ladies was very impressed when at the end of our meal, our server not only split our checks, but was able to account for our drinks ordered separately from him at the bar prior to our being seated. Not one single mistake! The food was impeccable and delicious. Prior to ordering, our server gave us the run-down of what Clover is about: all locally grown organic produce and ingredients, sometimes causing menu items to fluctuate based on local availability. My type of place!! I ordered Gazpacho and Crab Ravioli. Both were delicious. The Gazpacho was not anything I couldn't have made at home, however. My mistake for not ordering something more "unique" like one of their salads made with Bibb lettuce. But, it was still good! The ravioli was perfect and I appreciated that with three pasta option on the menu, there was one without a heavy, creamy sauce. It was described as a white wine lemon sauce. It was very light and let me enjoy the flavors of the house made ravioli. As with many restaurants of this sort, the portion sizes were small (I had 3 raviolis about 3 inches in diameter for $22 and paid separately for the soup) which is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. Totally worth the price for the ambiance, the amazing service, variety of specialty cocktails on their menu, and the quality of the food. Go here for a special occasion and you won't regret the money spent!

Had my birthday dinner there last night with my daughter and her husband from Seattle. Everything was excellent...loved our dinners...halibut, duck, beef Wellington. We had a birthday celebration here and it was perfect. They moved some tables together and gave us an entire section of the converted house all to ourselves (14 of us) and took great care of us. As we were leaving, the bartender let a few of us sample some of the high end whisky. Delicious! Very friendly and accommodating.

My favorite restaurant in Spokane. They have delicious food and a fun, creative drink menu. Fantastic service too - Lynette was a great server!

Go Zags!

Our only complaint is that our dinners were more lukewarm than hot. Other than that, everything great..service, atmosphere and delicious food. I ll definitely go back!

We had a birthday celebration here and it was perfect. They moved some tables together and gave us an entire section of the converted house all to ourselves (14 of us) and took great care of us. As we were leaving, the bartender let a few of us sample some of the high end whisky. Delicious! Very friendly and accommodating.

F*** OFF.
