The vegan sandwiches and soups are the bomb. I love the pesto tofu and bbq tofu sandwiches (veganized upon request), love pretty much all their vegan soups, and the hummus is delicious. I'm giving five stars also because every time I've been there, I've gotten great service, friendly staff and no issues with the food. So nice to have a vegan-friendly place in the area!

This is the jam for Vegetarians and Veggie lovers. One of the only juice bars in Snohomish County. I love the Feta, Spinach and Egg breakfast sandwich. The teriyaki tofu sandwich is great for lunch. Great build your own salad bar. The only bummer is that they don't open until 10am which sucks for us commuters...

As a vegetarian with a carnivorous SO, I tend to compromise a lot. This restaurant was the perfect balance. The BF had a thick organic bison burger, which he said was shockingly good. I had the tofu pesto sandwich with the vegan cream of mushroom. It tested so fresh and prepared with love. They also have a pleasing selection of gourmet sodas.

Loved this place, salad bar was great and the sandwiches are healthy and delicious. Glad we decided to stop here for a healthy lunch.

I also know what I am actually puting into my body since all ingrients are always on hand which is nice for a girl with 30 food alergies ! I feel I am doing my body good , by proding it with organic , local food. Could not wish for a better place to eat ! Much Love, Monique Morris *

This place is a great option for health nuts or those who like organic food. My husband saw all of the healthy labels from the outside and was turned off until he saw that they had bison burgers. We decided to try it out (obviously) and I had a half soup, half sandwich with a turkey mozzarella and cranberry sandwich and the soup of the day, a curry butternut squash. I really liked the sandwich - I'd order it again. I didn't love the soup. I thought it was a little bland. Great for those of you who are looking for a low sodium option but I never use extra salt and thought it needed some. I had the option to have veggies or chips on the side. I opted for the veggies which were carrots and celery with hummus. I wasn't expecting that but it was a nice surprise. My husband and Dad both opted for the burgers - which both looked good. They said that they were decent although my husband complained that the burger had spinach on it. He manages to take the healthy out of anything remotely healthy. I thought that the burgers would come with potato chips but they actually came with purple tortilla chips and hummus. A nice change from normal chips - although I don't really like tortilla chips so I was glad that I went with the veggies. Cute little place, decent food, a fine place to stop if you're in the area.

Not bad, not exceptional. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but it was a bit awkward waiting for my order when the place was really crowded. There are not many tables in the place, and during lunch time it gets pretty packed, so you may find yourself trying to stay out of the way of the people trying to order when you're waiting for yours to come out. Good for vegetarian options, and some interesting sandwich flavor combinations. A little pricey for sandwiches, but this is downtown Snohomish we're talking about, where everything is a little pricey except the parking. If I were walking by hungry, and there wasn't a long line, I might pop in and get a sandwich, but if it's crowded at all, I'd keep on moving. Better than some of the other options on 1st st., but not the best, IMHO.

Gluten-free and Vegan options here!!! The food is great, the service is friendly, and the prices are fair. You can even get fresh juice! YUM I wish the hours were better, but really thats my only complaint. If you are a vegan like myself, be sure to try out the Curry Tofu sandwich with Soy cheese! Its amaaazzzinnggg

I am so thankful to have not discovered these folks when I still worked in Snohomish. I would have blown my budget eating out every lunch. They make the best homemade soups. As a gluten free vegetarian I can pretty much never eat soup at a restaurant. So that leaves me with soup I make or canned soup. Well sadness no more! I can have soup at an actual restaurant!! Yay!!! I had a bowl of Moroccan soup with peanuts. Wow. I also had a BBQ Tofu sandwich on gluten free bread. OK so maybe I have scared you off. What about a bison burger on a nice wheaty bun? Hubby dug it big time. So is it fresh, hippie and very accommodating of folks with dietary restrictions, yeah, but it's still yummy for anyone else who wants something more traditional.

It took almost 20 minutes to receive a strawberry banana smoothie and a strawberry lemonade and the joint wasn't even busy. The smoothie tasted like an unripe banana with zero strawberry flavor, and the lemonade just tasted like lemon water.

Good wholesome ingredients. The price is higher but when you use ingredients like they do, it is reasonable in comparison to some other places. I had the bison blue cheese burger, which was delicious. It was on a whole wheat bun, came out fresh and hot. My only complaint was they only have soy bacon, which is passable when on a burger, but I would never eat it by itself. I may be a guy who is trying to eat less processed food and more wholesome ingredients, but I am still a classic man and I like my meat to be real. The reason for the 4 stars is not because of the soy bacon, however. The burger was delicious, but my sad little hummus side dish was not. The hummus was okay, but they give you a mid-sized wad of hummus and I was given like 5 little cut up vegetables to go with it. I could have literally put about 1 tablespoon on each bite I had. It was probably the smallest side dish I've had anywhere in my restaurant dining experience, although it was tasty. So coming from a guy who grew up a meat and potatoes kind of guy, who loves BBQing and high-fiving, this place has tasty options for you. If you don't mind soy bacon and mediocre sides.

You know it's a fun place when the kitchen is full of ladies singing Third Eye Blind at the top of their lungs. We stopped in for lunch and loved it. Not that I eat it, but I really liked that they serve Bison Burgers as their only red meat burgers. It's cheaper, better for the environment, and is better for you. Nicely done, Grilla Bites. I ordered the Portabella Burger with marinated mushrooms, grilled red onion, greens, and a blue cheese sauce that was to die for. You get a choice of blue corn chips or veggies, both with a side of hummus, which was good but a little spicy for me. The split pea soup was vegetarian, thick, and tasty. I'll be back when I visit Snohomish again!

Always satisfied when we come here. It's a bit pricey, but the food is great 9 times out of 10 and the salad bar is always the perfect addition!

  • Roma L.

Small town feel, goods atmosphere and service but a bit overpriced for being organic and such. Small portions, plus the burger do didn't come with fries :( that was a deal breaker to me. Probably won't come back.

Obsessed with their hummus!! Such a cute place! I love how they have so many options! Makes it really easy to eat healthy whether you are on the go, or going to lunch with a friend!

This is the best place for organic and fresh food! Juices are amazing! It's always a treat to come here. Love the Brownie it's out of this world. Alway perfect on perpetration and fresh. Lady's are always soo nice and would go extra mile to make u happy! Good job! Love it!

  • Jim G.

Love the bison burgers, but the soup is favorless and I'm a big soup guy. Seriously, how could you mess up tomato soup--are you trying to make it too healthy? The iced tea was kinda weird too with a soapy, fermented taste, but that could of just been me. Not a bad place, but be careful what you order.

  • Meagan G.

I love this place! They have a lot of options for those who have food intolerances and want to eat healthier. AND it all tastes good too! Wow!

I have been going to grilla since it opened, and always love it there! I'm always toting my kids everywhere and they are always so sweet to us. The owner is super friendly and almost always there! They have amazing soups and their sandwiches are so yummy and free of any crap that other sandwich shops have. Their salmon burger is off the hook good!

  • Whitney M.

This place is FANtastic! The Rockin' Moroccan soup is one of the best soups I've ever had. I always gets the turkey/cranberry sandwich, it never disappoints! Great, friendly staff, yummy food, and their coffee can stand toe-to-toe with Starbucks any day. A superb place to meet for lunch in historic Snohomish.

It's a shame that one employee can ruin the experience of this cafe. Great food, great owner, and I love that it's all gmo free and most importantly healthy for my children to eat. However the older lady who cashiers seems to be very short and does not enjoy my children being in the establishment. My boys tend to spill their water on ocassion or touch the soft drink fridge like many kids do. She has on multiple occasions said rude comments to the kitchen about my boys, tells my son what to do(he's 4), gives nasty looks when her back turns (unaware she hasn't fully turned and I can see) and makes me feel uncomfortable and like I have to overly monitor their every breath so I don't upset her. Recently I had Had enough and calmly told her I would be leaving since she is rude to my child each time I visit. She replied rudely with, "only because the second he Comes in he starts right on up!" I was shocked. I have worked customer service for years and never would a comment like that or her attitude be acceptable. I sadly will not be returning. I'll find an establishment who accepts my family with a smile and positive attitude. I spoke with the owner, she made it clear that since my kids are apparently "loud when they visit", that's it's okay to be treated that way by her employee. Children's noise level doesn't excuse mean comments. And that's crazy because I would not and do not allow my children to behave in that manner. I would leave or correct the noise level. I respect other diners. Eating there once a month clearly irritated the staff and they do not like my child. Sad. He always looked forward to "the monkey restaurant".

I honestly wasn't impressed with this place at all but I'm also not a huge organic fan either (like I don't search for organic only). I got the Turkey bacon avacado Sandwhich and it was ok but just not a huge fan. My kids didn't like the chicken nuggets either. I honestly don't think I'd go back and go to another restaurant on the same block with tastier food.

    Fresh organic juice bar!!!

  • Joe V.

We were not huge fans of this place. We have been there twice. The people are friendly, the dinning room is clean, we just don't care for the food; obviously just not our flavor.

This is by far my favorite place to eat in Snohomish. I love that they have a wide variety of vegan options . Plus their salad bar is great. I usually get the bbq tofu sandwich which is delicious and I am able to sub vegan cheese. My non veg eating dining partners also don't mind eating here since there are meat options available as well. Salad bar is a little pricey but I think its still slightly cheaper than whole foods. I do wish they would keep later hours and perhaps open another location somewhere. Parking here can be difficult as this area of Snohomish is always crowded. I hope to make it in to try the breakfast someday.

I just love little towns don't you? They are so quaint and full of fun shops and restaurants. Well the city of Snohomish is no exception. I had heard about this restaurant named "Grilla Bites" that serves up their famous Grilla sandwiches and burgers, along with organic soups and salad, while featuring local specials and flavors. They also serve local produce and products as much as possible and the water is always filtered I am told. So I had to give them a try. Their Mission statement says this: "Supporting our environment and community while maintaining a healthy responsibility to our customers through the food we serve" The atmosphere is a mix of trendy and a bit of granola. The seating area seemed a bit crowded with tables and chairs, in my opinion they could have surplussed a table and four chairs which would have relieved the cramped feeling a bit. It was clean and well kept. The employees were pleasant but seemed a bit discombobulated at times. Grilla Bites is not a vegan or even a vegetarian restaurant but does have plenty of vegan and vegetarian fare on their menu not to mention the huge organic salad bar. They have 19 vegetarian items and 3 Vegan items on the menu but you can veganize almost any item on the menu. They told me that they use Vegenaise in all their sauces that are "Mayo type" based sauces & dressings. You can also ask for vegan soy cheese & vegan bacon as a substitute on any menu item. They also have pesto, BBQ or curry tofu sandwiches. I ordered their "Portobello Burger" $9.75 which is chopped portobello mushrooms marinated in shiitake vinaigrette and topped with grilled red onions, tomato, spinach and blue cheese spread. I asked them to hold the blue cheese spread and asked for garlic aioli made with Vegenaise. It came with your choice either fresh vegetables and garlic hummus or organic blue corn chips and garlic hummus. For desert I had their vegan and gluten free brownie. The mushrooms had good flavor, and where packed between what looked like a sprouted bun. The bun was soft and yummy. (technical foodie terms) a slight vinaigrette flavor wispered that the mushrooms had been marinated and the garlic aioli had a punch with a strong garlic flavor. The hummus was very tasty with also a strong garlic flavor. The combination one two punch of the garlic aioli and garlic hummus left me swimming in the vapors of the garlic gulch I called my mouth into the next morning. The vegan and gluten free brownie was really moist, may be a bit too moist but the flavor was fudgie (another foodie term) it had a thin layer of chocolate frosting on top and had a bit of an orange flavor to it. Over all my experience was good. The prices I felt were a bit on the high side. (but organic & healthy does cost more) The food was fresh and flavorful. Variety was great and flexibility with substitutions was great. I would eat there again but I would not do the double punch of garlic.

We had a great experience here last weekend. All three of our kids, my husband, myself and my grandparents all enjoyed the food. The prices were fantastic. I appreciate that they serve local, organic foods. They are allergy experts too. Not only do they have gluten and dairy free and vegan options, but they even asked us if we had allergies and assured us that they would use different knives and grill space. They offer three different types of gluten-free bread. I was floored as I believed my days of bread options were long gone. The guacamole was fresh, chunky and delicious. The chips were GF too. They make fresh juice and I was delighted that our daughter shared a sip. Yum! If you get there by 1, you can have breakfast or lunch. Both girls devoured their blueberry pancakes. Our son had the second hot dog of his life. (It was organic, all beef, nitrate-free and local-so I'm not a 100% bad mom; Right?) He ate it without throwing any of it on the floor, so I'm going to assume that's a win. My GF turkey sandwich was actually two sandwiches and I was stuffed after the first, so I had one for dinner too. My husband had a buffalo burger and enjoyed it, but said it was a bit overcooked. Their coffee was delicious! Each entree (including the kids') came with hummus and veggies. The staff was friendly and helpful. You do have to go up to the counter to order. You are supposed to bus your own table, but they cleared ours for us, which was either thoughtful or they were trying to get us out of there. I took it as kind. The restroom was clean. The atmosphere was very laid back and I felt completely comfortable having kids in there. It was quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling, but loud enough to not feel awkward about having a conversation with an almost deaf grandfather who refuses to wear a hearing aid. We will definitely be back!

I was in town for a week and made plenty of trips downtown and this was by far the best place I ate at. The bison burger was fantastic. The food is quite a bit healthier then the other option in town as well.

This was only my first time going here but my experience was pretty good. They have an all organic salad bar, fresh juice drinks that incorporate both vegetables and fruit and gluten free options on the menu. The staff are fun, friendly and look like they enjoy what they are doing. Since I am a fan of the organic, gluten free lifestyle it was perfect for me! While I was there, there were a few usuals that came in that the staff recognized and knew right away what they were going to order. So I could tell that this was a pretty popular place among the locals of Snohomish and the staff take the time to get to know the customers.

Grilla bites is a great place for healthy, organic and delicious options. I originally discovered the Grilla bites in Chico, CA. One day, when walking down 1st street in Snohomish, I recognized the name and the sign. When I walked in, I was immediately reminded of the Chico location. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. There are too many restaurants that serve delicious but unhealthy food. This restaurant makes me feel that I am eating something that was grown by a local farm with nothing gross added. If you are in Snohomish, try this tasty, lovely restaurant!

Still love this place... Just wanted to add that I tried out the salad bar the other day and it was fantastic. :)

Love this place! It is great food at a decent price for being locally sourced. Everyone I have ever been with has become obsessed with the hummus, which is tahini-free (great for anyone with a sesame allergy). We have taken to trying to dissect the hummus each time we go since we can't seem to find a recipe online :( They have a great selection of vegan, vegetarian and even gluten free options. I love being able to know what I am eating! I can't rave enough about this place, though I can't give it 5 stars yet simply because I haven't tried everything on the menu yet!

This cafe has a clean and pleasant atmosphere. The staff are friendly and accommodating and made several recommendations. My friends an I enjoyed sharing the buffalo burger and the Italian garlic sandwich. We enjoyed the variety of local and organic veggies and dressings at the salad bar as well. Don't miss the fresh strawberry lemonade!

  • Joohee C.

The food was good. I had their pastrami on rye with the dressing on the side. It was good, better than my husband's bison guacamole burger. We got both meals with the veggies and hummus instead of chips. FYI, they give you about 3-4 small sticks of celery and carrots alongside a little container of hummus. The atmosphere is casual; you order at the counter and they bring you your food. The restaurant feels like a cozy cafeteria. A great place for a quick, light lunch. I'd go back if I'm ever in the Snohomish area again.

All was great with the salad bar during my visit (7/16/13) so not sure what happened to Susan H. when she was there the day before. I wanted to try a hot sandwich so I ordered the half and sampled the salad bar too. Salad goes by weight so I took a bite-sized portion of things that I wanted to try - smoked salmon, signature Thai Tuna salad and a few other interesting items. The cost was $1.35 which I thought was very reasonable. My ham & swiss sandwich was a perfect balance of tender smoked ham (shaved thin), and melted cheese with a ground mustard spread on delicious bread. I was out the door for less than $10 with a generous tip feeling full and satisfied. I will be back.

Sustainable, Organic, Non-GMO, Whole Food, Healthy. Lots of places can claim to be these things. What Grilla Bites can claim that most other places cannot? Their food is delicious. The service at the counter is a bit slow, and I'm not sure I could ever go there if I was in a hurry, but that's the closest thing to a criticism I can give this place. It's right on the "main drag" through Downtown Snohomish by the antique stores, so it's convenient if you're coming for that reason. I love their Chipotle Guacamole Bison burger. It's flavorful, juicy and has just enough heat. The hummus that comes as the side is tasty, too. The salad bar, while a bit pricey, has a wide selection of healthy salads, greens, toppings and proteins. I ahve never had anything here I wouldn't order again, and I love that the owner is so willing to talk to people about eating healthfully, organic, local, etc.

Super for a quick lunch. Turkey pesto grilled sandwich, really delish! Wish I'd ordered a whole instead of half. My daughter had the burger, and she said it had a little kick to it. My granddaughter devoured her grilled cheese, which was on a really nice home baked bread. They served everything with natural corn chips and hummus, which was a nice change. The organic feature and really balanced flavors will bring us back!

  • Jack M.

This place is OK. I think that the food could be better, but it just seems as though they don't try too hard because they got the natural-local-healthy-unique-earthy-foody thing going on. I have never been too impressed with any of the food here, but I have never had any thing here that was bad. It is definitely over-priced. The atmosphere is pretty bland too.

    (2)
  • Nicholas C.

If your interested in just organic foods this is the place for you. Pastrami sandwich was alright, but no pepperchinis on it?!? The smoothies are decent, all real fruit, but kinda bland. There's really not a selection for side items. You get chips and hummus and i believe one other selection. Over all this place can do way better.

    (2)
  • Ramona S.

I love this place! The tuna Thai sandwich is delicious and their homemade hummus and veggies are so good! Every time I'm in town I will definitely stop here! It's nice to eat your lunch and not feel tired or lazy after! The food is good and good for you! Thumbs up!

There are other nice places to eat in Snohomish but this place is THE place to spend less money (than a sit down) and get great quality food. I had the Buffalo burger with the chipotle mayo. Out of site! The salad bar look good too but I was full. Wifi is free for those who have to stay plugged in. Highly recommended.

  • cole y.

You get the star for your friendly staff. The bison is gamey. I couldn't even swallow it author gagging. I'm sorry, it just tasted so bad. Thank you for the pastrami sandwich, but I paid over $11 for my burger and was offered no partial refund. That is just bad business. Bad burgers too

  • Caraline A.

I love me some Grilla. Great spot for lunch or dinner, especially if you are out and about shopping for some antiques. I love the soup and sandwich combos served with veggies or chips and house made hummus - so garlicky and fresh! I also go for their wheat grass shots when I'm feeling a little glum. Oh, they have an amazing wild salmon burger with garlic aoili and spinach. The restaurant's decor isn't my fave, but I can get past that! :) Stop by for some healthy comfort food! They have good 'kid food' too!

    (5)
  • L H.

The appeal of this place is its natural, organic ingredients. The salad bar is expansive and the sandwiches and soups are standard deli fare with a "whole-foods" twist. It may just be how my home is set up, but nothing they serve here I couldn't or wouldn't make on a regular basis. With a lot less expense and a lot more flavor. I've found the service nice, but slow even when we were the only ones there. The restaurant concept is good and a great addition to the community but I can't justify spending my restaurant budget here.

  • Michelle F.

Tasty, tasty food. I had the BBQ tofu sandwich and soup deal. The black bean soup was tasty. Average, but tasty. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. The salad bar looks amazing, and the things my table-mates ordered looked delish, too. My little brother was RAVING about the tomato soup. My only complaints are that they're nowhere near my house, and that they forgot our special orders (no tomato on one order and no carrots on another order). But it's a small price to pay for good food. Oh, and the hummus was not my thing... but that's me. It was too salady-herbal-dry for me. I like mine soft, tart, salty, and creamy and garlicky. It was not that.

First time eating here and really enjoyed it. It was easy to keep on our family's Paleo template. The owner was in the house and super friendly, as was the staff. Omelette, Bison Burger, fresh juice smoothies, and Mighty Veggie drink were all top notch. Highly recommended to anyone looking for real, local food, without all the extra processing. We will be back!!!

Love my local Grilla Bites. I can just run in for a quick salad to go out of the incredible salad bar. Love the Thai tuna! Or when I have more time to relax over a nice lunch to dine in. Always fresh healthy choices. Love the fresh juices and know they are all organic. My favorite lunch spot in Snohomish.

The price was okay and our sandwiches were huge. Very healthy seeming place with basically everything being compostable. Healthy and eco-friendly.

Grilla Bites reminds me of Homegrown in Fremont. It has a solid, healthy menu with delicious sandwiches and juices. Their environmental impact is two fold: less waste and awareness of the gorilla. I love businesses that make recycling, composting and reuse a part of their day to day operation instead of pointing you in the direction of a garbage can at the culmination of your meal. Furthermore, I enjoy their passion of bringing awareness to a specific animal in the environment so the consumer can think of the direct impact of conservation. A noble idea and execution that is outside of the box. What did I eat you ask? I ordered a hot cranberry turkey sandwich with organic chips and hummus. They graciously split it for me so that my mother and I could each enjoy a half sandwich at no additional charge. Grand total: $7-8

  • Violet W.

great staff, kind and patient, so wonderful. Food was way overpriced, 2 slices of turkey on a sandwich for $10? hummas was textured but needed lemon and salt. Will visit again because of the service, not the food.

Great organic, natural, locally grown menu options with a fabulous salad bar. Rockin' Moroccan soup is amazing, the owner is there quite frequently and is very alert and knowledgeable to food allergies, sensitivities, etc. If you don't care about Gluten Free, Vegan, food allergies...that's okay too! They simply have yummy food, cozy cafe atmosphere in a laid back and casual location. If you have a sweet tooth, the Pumpkin Cookies and Gluten Free brownies are simply delicious!

I love eating at Grilla Bites, the food is fresh, healthy, and tastes really good. They have also catered many functions I have attended in Snohomish. Grilla Bites comes to the Snohomish Farmers Market during the season and takes orders while the Vendors set up, so they have wonderful healthy food to eat. Thanks Anne for opening Grilla Bites in Snohomish.

I work near Grilla Bites and have been several times. They have a very healthy and organic menu. I have tried the vegetable soup, which to me, was not that tasty. Quite bland. I loved the bison burger & the Thai tuna. The tuna is very well made with red onion, cilantro, crushed red peppers, mayo. It's very filling as is the bison burger. I'd not tried bison before and it was very lean, very tasty and though not beef...it had that consistency. I'd have it again. I know it's a healthy alternative. They serve a side of either veggies or organic blue, corn chips. With it they serve very good hummus. Much better than I've ever had anywhere. They could give more veggies as a side. They give you maybe 3 carrot sticks and 3 celery sticks. I usually go with the chips. Either are great with that hummus! For the price you pay for the sandwich and side...a good serving of fresh veggies would not cost them that much more! (Especially when we're talking carrots and celery!) The staff are friendly, but for me, this is not a make or break. I'm there to grab a sandwich to go and mostly during my lunch break. As long as my food is made well, I am a happy gal!

This place is a positively *dreamy* lunch spot for those of us up north weary of scouring menus for vegetarian-friendly fare, only to wind up with some bland, unimaginative plate filler that amounts to, say, a ham sandwich without the ham. (Ok. I'm bitter. I admit it.) My teenage daughter (certified tofuphobe) and I stood beneath the Grilla Bites menu last weekend with mouths agape and tears in our eyes (well, practically) thanks to the amazing array of tantalizing, healthful options available this place. The occasion marked my third visit, and as always, the food was ultra-flavorful (try any sammy or soup), the fresh juices out of this world, and the service, as friendly as it gets. The clincher? The place puts its money and effort where its eco-friendly mouth is. Well worth the tab ($24 for two this trip) to enjoy an outstanding, nourishing meal and support an environmentally responsible local business.

I get lunch from Grilla Bites about once a week, it is a (presumably) healthy but (definitely) yummy place to get a sandwich. The thai tuna is always great, as are the turkey-based and soy-bacon-related options. If you're looking for a delicious burger you'll be savoring for hours later try one of the buffalo burgers. On the down-side the soups are generally bland and uninteresting. However the tomato gorgonzola is fantastic.

So lucky this place is a short walk from home. Their portobello burger is the absolute bomb, my favorite menu item for some time. When bison was added to the menu choices, I found it impossible to choose between portobello and bison so they make a burger for me with both ingredients. Now the choice is between adding portobello to the bison burger or bison to the portobello burger. Both are fantastic! For those griping about the price..... Get real! Haven't you noticed the organic produce always costs more? If you want cheap eats, try Taco Bell. Of course you won't really know what is really in your food.

For an organic place, this takes the cake. The staff and atmosphere all plays the part just the same. I'm not even a big "organic" person and this place was my favorite for awhile. For sure take a chance with Grilla Bites, I support the cause and the food has yet to let me down. Fills you up plenty without making you feel like you just gorged yourself unnecessarily.

Great little cafe. Would have been nice to get a view of the river, but sitting on the sidewalk worked perfectly. The organic food was fantastic (had the Thai tuna sandwich) and the service was great!

I love healthy food and the grilla bite has some healthy food. However I did not enjoy my experience there. They were not rude by any means and they got the food out on time so thats worth three stars. However I did not find the food very good and did not feel it was fairly priced. It is a little too expensive for what you get. I know they are a speciality store but it still was a little too much for the food. I don't think I would go back to this place.

This place was interesting to try and I definitely would go again. They make great organic burgers that have a unique and wholesome taste. I can't remember what it was called, but I ordered a chipotle style burger that was very delicious. The spread had a decent kick to it, which I loved because most restaurants try and play it safe with spicy. I also liked how everything on it seemed genuinely natural, but it still had excellent taste. Their homemade hummus was also good and I was able to top it all off with an all-natural root beer they had. I love root beer and this was probably one of the better ones I've tried; not too sweet like most. Wish I could remember what it was called!

I LOVE this little place -- my girlfriend and I will drive from Monroe to Snohomish any day we can find the time to eat lunch here. The food is just excellent quality - you can taste the organic in every bite. My all-time favorite is the Thai Tuna sandwich. Their hummus is awesome too--flavorful and not too oily. I generally really like the soups, though I had to salt and pepper the Quinoa and tomato soup yesterday (was a bit bland) -- a first, after many visits. Overall, this place has earned my 5 stars!

I'm not sure what they put in their hummus... but I'm addicted! Love the variety on the menu - with both their stress on organic food and allergy/diet saavy. I had the veggie grilla substituting cucumber (allergies) for avocado. I wasn't sure how hummus and avocado would mix, but found out that along with the other ingrediants, the sandwich was hard to put down once I took my first bite! I'll definitely go back when in the area next!

Yummy sandwiches! If someone else was paying I'd be going back; but as it stands I'm not sure the sandwiches were worth $10. Very good, just not $10 good. The wait was also REALLY long... we waited over 20 minutes for our ham and cheese sandwiches...

I love Grilla Bites. There are tasty offerings for my gluten-free family. The salad bar is super great and creative as well as the main menu and daily soups specials. My kids especially like the tostadas made with local grass-fed beef.

Even if you're not a salad bar person, you'll love this one! I have never gone to a place for the salad bar, but this is the exception. It's not cheap, but keep in mind that it offers incredibly fresh organic produce that is grown by local farmers. Grilla Bites is a great option for people who want to enjoy a healthy meal in a friendly setting while supporting the community.

Wow, talk about the best soup and sandwich joint ever, this place is pure magic! Organic, no genetically modified ingredients, stevia based all natural soda, three different types of gluten free bread, they compost, you get your food on real plates and they're very reasonably priced! Even the water is in a glass dispenser rather than a plastic dispenser. I seriously crave their hummus sometimes. So glad I found Grilla Bites, I'll visit anytime I'm in town!

Gorilla Bites is great. I just stopped by and got a shot of wheat grass, a Zevia cola, and the Thai tuna sandwich. So yummy and healthy! I want to eat here every day.

This place really is as good as it gets! There are some great lunch choices here, including soup, sandwiches, and one of the best salad bars this side of the Mississippi. They feature all locally grown and organic ingredients. Plus there is delicious made-to-order juices! Go there on Sunday for a great brunch (after 10am) and superb coffee. Staff is always friendly and helpful. And they compost!

We rode the Centennial Trail from Arlington to Snohomish and found this place in town. This place is very organic and green. We both ordered the bison burger. You can choose chips or vegetables with your bison burger and we ordered one of each. The burger was really large, very tasty and the sides were fresh and served with what must be home made pummis. We will return. Keep in mind that this quality food is NOT inexpensive, plan on spending $10-$15 EACH person.

This was tough one. I wanted to like it REALLY, I did. The idea of fresh organic food YEAH! Healthy and vegan, vegetarian REAL choices. Salad bar was VERY expensive for the choices on it. I had the turkey & cranberry sandwich we both had the salad bar and hubby had pastrami sammy he said it wasn't bad. Yes, the staff is nice and they are all so friendly but very pricey and nothing you can't make at home with fresh organic stuff and its was over 30.00 for 2 sammies, 2 salad bars and water. YIKES!

This is my favorite lunch spot. I've tried just about everything on the menu. I am a return customer for many reasons, but here are the most important: The staff is super friendly, the food is fresh and well prepared, and the location is perfect for the cafe. The organic and gluten free choices are also a plus. Some of my favorite lunch choices are: portabella mushroom burger, turkey/bacon/avacado sandwich, tofu pesto sanwich, and of course the salad bar which offers many choices. Plan to spend about 8-11 dollars on lunch and a drink. Family friendly environment. Two thumbs up for this place, or in this case, five stars!

I live close-by and have wanted to go here for a long time. My first visit was my LAST! My friend and I placed our order, an item that was no longer on the menu, but she had eaten last summer. The owner herself agreed to make it and we reviewed the ingredients with her as I am vegan and we both have allergies. They were out of soy milk and the owner seemed pushy for my friend to try another milk. Almost like she didnt believe her allergies or preferences to what she likes. We were eating our wrap and one of us realized it tasted like cheese. When I asked the cashier, she called over the owner and she.confirmed she put cheese in it even though it only supposed to be hummus. She offered to remake it and we agreed. Durring this time she came over and half heartedly apologized, we let her know I am vegan and that we are both highly allergic to milk. We asked for the food to go as we didnt want to be sick away from home. She told us to "call later if we felt really sick she could compensate with a free lunch" REALLY!? I felt we should have been offered our money back right then. Why should I have to call you later to tell you about our diarrhea, headaches, stomach pain and frustration of unknowingly consuming a animal product served at a restaurant claiming to be friendly to vegans, vegetarians & allergies! More than anything I'm upset the owner blamed her worker and didnt have any accountability to her own actions. This was clearly her mistake, not the sweet employee and not ours.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Grilla Bites. I have tried almost every "Grilla" sandwich on their menu and none of them disappoint! Puget Sound needs more of these for sure! Its really hard to find a restaurant that serves food that isnt mass-produced and smothered in oily sauces let alone a gem like Grilla Bites that serves tasty organic food that is so fabulous its ridiculous! Their hummus is something to write home about as well, no store brand can compare! I have even turned on several of my coworkers to their food. They cater to those with special dietary needs as well with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and low fat/ cholesterol options. I also love how they really do try to keep it local. Their bread comes from the Snohomish Bakery just up the street, they make all of their hummus, guacamole, and other sauces and dips from scratch AND they are even a CSA pick-up point for those who are interested in getting their produce from REAL local farmers. Oh and they are environmentally friendly...even their disposable utensils are compostable...not just recycleable but compostable! I just wish their was one closer to either where I work or where I lived. I am sooooo glad they cater too!!! My office LOVED the food and was so happy they didnt have to eat food that sat like a pound of bricks (which is what we normally had catered for office meetings) in their gut after they ate. Sure they are a bit pricey but that's because organic is just that...more expensive. Its basic supply and demand; until the public increases their demand for more organic items in their food supply, the supply will stay low and the price high.

This place was a perfect find on a long bike ride. A group of us rode from Redmond up to Snohomish and stopped at Grilla Bites. This was our halfway mark for our 100 mile bike ride. Hit the spot. They even had PBJ on the menu, which for some is their ideal meal on a bike ride. Or, some of us opted for the Bison burger or Turkey Cranberry. I will be back, on bike or via car. Let's support our great local businesses!

Awesome sandwich/salad/soup/coffee joint. We walked up and down the street trying to choose a Snohomish lunch spot... and landed here. Fresh, fresh, fresh food is the name of the game. Awesome soups and sandwiches. Great place for a quick, healthy sit-down lunch. I had a smoothie that was fan-freakin-tastic. They were great for our 16-month-old, too. Had some stuffed animals they gave her to play with. it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

We've passed by this little restaurant many times during our antiquing visits to downtown Snohomish, but today we decided to stop in for a quick bite. Upon entry, we asked about seating and were given the straight skinny...grab a table to hold first, or go to the counter and order, then grab your own table. We only saw one available table but there were 3 people ahead of us in line and didn't feel it would be right to take a table ahead of someone who had been waiting longer, so we decided that if, when we ordered, there were no tables ,we would get our meals to go. So be aware of the ordering structure and fact that the accommodations are tight and this place always seems to be busy. Despite the busy scene, when it was our turn, we were greeted with a friendly smile and upbeat wait staff. We decided to try two different sandwiches, so we could share each, and went with the pastrami with mustard, and grilled wild salmon with the garlic aioli. Each sandwich comes with chips or veggies with house-made hummus, so we tried each as well. The wait was typical for a sandwich shop that custom makes grilled sandwiches (the pannini machine was a hoppin) and our food was delivered to our table. Everything about this place is fresh and tasty. The choices of breads and buns are wholesome and delicious and the hummus is incredible! I think the only downfall may have been the garlic aioli, it's pretty formidible and on the grilled salmon, it seemed to weigh the sandwich down, looking back I think I should have chosen the alternative, thousand Island dressing, to add a bright sweet spot to the salmon. Overall though, we loved the food and will definitely be back. As my husband said, he'd come back for a bowl of those great blue chips and a bucket of hummus!

Not only was the food excellent but the service was awesome. Everyone looked like they really enjoyed to be working there. They have substitute options if you're vegan or vegetarian, its all organic and a lot of it is locally grown food. Communities would benefit if there were more places like this.

I don't know exactly how to feel about Grilla Bites. They introduced me to something I like; fake bacon, or as I like to call it, Facon. But the truth is, this restaurant is paying much more attention to the healthiness or their menu than the flavors they're providing, which is unfortunate. I had a BLT with facon and the best part was the fake meat, oddly enough. Everything else about this was a mistake: mozzarella, ranch, tomato, and baby spinach. Oddly, it was served with blue corn tortilla chips and hummus, as were my grandparents sandwiches: thai tuna and a hot dog. The combination of bacon and mozzarella is something this experience taught me to avoid, but the worst part was the ranch. It just did not mix well at all and the whole thing was pretty bad. It was edible, but the combination was a disaster. As is the combination of blue corn tortilla chips with hummus with EVERYTHING. I'm all for good healthy food, but I think Grilla Bites needs to rethink their strategy and reassess flavor as maybe a stronger component of their menu choices.

Since I have to eat gluten-free (let me stress that this is not by choice), eating out can be a challenge. I went to Grilla Bites for the first time yesterday and was absolutely thrilled to learn that they have four different gluten-free bread options. Yay! My sandwich was EXCELLENT, the hummus delicious, and the strawberry lemonade potentially addictive. I cannot wait to go back!

This place reminded me of a restaurant in Staunton, VA called Cranberry's, which I think is why I liked it so much. It is definitely good food, and It's great to know there's a place with good, whole food available. Not a huge fan of corn chips as a side, but overall good stuff!

I wanted to like this place, for I love finding places that give you healthy options. Well the food was lacking and when I say lacking I felt like maybe eating cardboard would of been better. Way over priced to for what they give you. Staff was ok. We didn't even go at a busy time but the cashier surely acted as if we were bother her with our order. Not sure I'll make another run at it.

I had to stick around Snohomish for a bit longer than anticipated and saw the Grilla Bites cafe. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich that took almost 15 minutes to make. The Turkey was good, the Avocado was more of a guacamole and bacon was some really poor tasting Soy variant. It came with a side of chips that appeared to be store bought and the sandwich was toasted through and through almost to the point of tearing up my mouth as I consumed it. Overall the place ended up being a bit more hipster than was worth it, I needed WiFi which didn't work and was expected to tip even though I served myself, bussed my own table and was never checked in with by the serving staff. I doubt I will return.

I take my family here often to get away from manufactured food and its associated sterile environment. The food is always fresh and is clearly put together by someone that cares. The environment is casual, clean and friendly - and, so are all the people that work here. We visited with the owner today, she clearly cares about what she and her team are creating, which is a charming little place to enjoy some good food.

I went there with four adults and two kids. We have two vegetarians and one vegan in the group. We were all very excited about coming here, and had heard good things. When we got there, we all each ordered a Grilla Sandwich. When they came out with the plates, they didn't know which plate was which and just handed them to us, asking us to decipher who's was who's. They all looked the same and we didn't know. Then the waiter tells me to "take a bite" so I can see if its mine. WHAT?! What if it wasn't mine, was I just supposed to pass it on to my fellow table mates? It was puzzling on how they could bring out orders and not even know what they were. They ended up messing up the order & sides and one sandwich was completely missing. By the time that person got her sandwich, everyone else was already done. The food itself, I wasn't impressed. They have vegan/vegetarian options which is great, since it is a growing community! But the avocado on my sandwich was more like guacamole, and the sandwich itself didn't have enough flavor or taste that would make me crave more. I was happy that I only ordered a half. The prices weren't bad, considering most health foods are pretty expensive, but if it would have tasted better, and the service was better I think I would have been happy with my $6 HALF sandwich. With there being so many restaurants on that strip on First in Snohomish, I'll now know to pass by Grilla bites and eat somewhere else.

Their salmon burger is off the hook good!

This place is FANtastic! The Rockin' Moroccan soup is one of the best soups I've ever had. I always gets the turkey/cranberry sandwich, it never disappoints!

I love this place! The tuna Thai sandwich is delicious and their homemade hummus and veggies are so good! Every time I'm in town I will definitely stop here! It's nice to eat your lunch and not feel tired or lazy after! The food is good and good for you! Thumbs up!

Had a fantastic salmon burger here. Perfectly cooked and the flavor of the salmon really shined. The service was a little slow but they were packed the day we were there.

Grand total: $7-8

great staff, kind and patient, so wonderful. Food was way overpriced, 2 slices of turkey on a sandwich for $10? hummas was textured but needed lemon and salt. Will visit again because of the service, not the food.

The price was okay and our sandwiches were huge. Very healthy seeming place with basically everything being compostable. Healthy and eco-friendly.

Yummy sandwiches! If someone else was paying I'd be going back; but as it stands I'm not sure the sandwiches were worth $10. Very good, just not $10 good. The wait was also REALLY long... we waited over 20 minutes for our ham and cheese sandwiches...

YIKES!

  • Jake B.

One of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. I just ordered a carmel latte with whole milk and savored every sip. Highly recommended!

The guacamole bison burgers really hit the spot after a road bike! Hearty and filling while still healthy. Even better with vegan chipotle mayo and a gluten free bun! Yum!

There aren't enough places like this in the Snohomish area. I got the curry tofu sandwich and the tomato Gorgonzola soup and they were both really good. Everything seemed fresh and healthy.

Small town feel, goods atmosphere and service but a bit overpriced for being organic and such. Small portions, plus the burger do didn't come with fries :( that was a deal breaker to me. Probably won't come back.

Always satisfied when we come here. It's a bit pricey, but the food is great 9 times out of 10 and the salad bar is always the perfect addition!

Obsessed with their hummus!! Such a cute place! I love how they have so many options! Makes it really easy to eat healthy whether you are on the go, or going to lunch with a friend!
