I must say that I am sad to have read all of the other reviews that have been given... I do not know about the kitchen situation, but the food that I was served there today for lunch was really good! My friend and I went there a few weekends ago for some night life and found the bouncers at the door to be quite friendly and entertaining (if you can call a bouncer that lol) We liked the couches to relax on and the cocktails were delicious. they were playing a bunch of michael jackson and some oldies (it was right after he died) but once the place really picked up the DJ started playing what I would consider to be regular club music. It was pretty packed, which was to a disadvantage in the sense that it was very hot in there, but we were able to go outside for some air and come back in. The menu is quite limited, but they seem to be a small place and so I do not fault them too much. The presentation was even nice. The only thing bad about our lunch today was that the soda I was served was mostly carbonation. but they fixed it and brought me another. By now I have only been there twice and if you ask me, the only really bad thing about the place is that there is only one bathroom each for women and men.

I've come here several times with friends and the food and drinks are always good. I don't know why people keep complaining about the chef or the menu because I think the food is pretty good, especially for a bar. It is a small menu but it's also a small place so don't expect 6 pages of options. I've been here at night for when it turns into a night club and I think they do pretty well for themselves. It's not the greatest set-up (and there is definitely not enough seating and have very limited bathroom facilities) but the DJs are always good and it's one of the better places in Kitsap to just get out and dance, whether you want to pick someone up or you just want to go out with friends and dance-off your stress, people here are pretty well-behaved and there's usually a good atmosphere.

When I first started going out to the Old Town Bistro I thought it was a perfect new addition to Kitsap County's almost non-existent nightlife. My friends and I would go down and dance to the classic rock & disco music. It was just us and a few middle-aged couples. Perfect to have some low-key fun on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, the popularity of this bar as grown. The service is terrible. The DJ plays the same music every week, almost to the T. And likes to kill the mood by playing Salsa music. He hasn't figured out that when the dance floor clears out, it's because he's playing music that no one knows how to dance to. We only go back because it's the only place to go in town with a dance floor.

Not my scene is how I would describe it. Sorry. This really isn't a review of the food or any of that stuff but a review of it as a packed Friday night Club. To be fair I was sober the whole time which might actually put me in a better head to review it. First the place was packed with all the regulars that you would expect to see at a place playing top 40 hip hop music, which meant getting a drink was difficult for all my friends. Luckly they had a few ladies going around taking drink orders but still, the time it took was insane. My friends literally went across the street to a less packed bar, ordered drinks, drank them, and came back before they got the ones they ordered here. The DJ was a very good DJ (he was working the crowd, mixing was good, and he was earning his money) playing very bad music. Many times I felt myself saying "I can't believe anyone is still playing this.." but the crowd really lapped it up and I guess that's what matters (except to me, the music snob). But since getting drinks timely was out of the question and hearing good music was not going to happen, I guess the only reason to be here was to dance with some ladies. I'm married. No interest in picking up ladies. No reason to be here. On an upside, I might return for the wine tastings or something else. Maybe on a quiet night this might be a good martini bar.

wow..a sad tale to tell...when the bistro first opened it was FUN to go...a NICE crowd, fun dance floor and music...interesting martinis and decent lunch fare and appetizers as well...NOW...just went a few weekends ago...first off...the bouncer at the door was a tad bit intimidating..(it's silverdale for god's sake) at first the music was old school 70's..ok , that I can dig....but THEN...the place radically changed from fun atmosphere to a bouncer on each end of the dance floor looking like the genie in aladdin....LOUD music, so loud that talking was virtually impossible...mass amounts of people (good for business I suppose) but so crowded there was some dude's ass in my face practically all night (won't discuss the elbow to my head) and it seemed that reckless drinking was encouraged through the use of extremely strong jello shots for sale...we left at 10 because it just was too much....we won'[t go there again...gawd, this makes me sound like an old curmudgeon but really, i'm not! if you're 21 and into craziness...well, I guess you'd like it...if you're over 25 and want a nice sophisticated place to go....don't...
