My husband and I had dinner here last night. Loved the booth tables. Food was good...not absolutely fabulous, but good. We left full. We would probably go back when we have another Thai food craving!

Wife and I came here for dinner. She had the papaya salad and I had crab fried rice and we both shared the sampler. The shrimp and crab Rangoon were pretty good. The chicken was ok at best. The spring rolls were not very good. Neither the papaya salad or crab fried rice were very good either which is the main reason for the 2 stars. I was also surprised that they didn't offer hoisin sauce which most thai restaurants that I've been to had. On the plus side, the restaurant is nice looking and very peaceful. The staff is very friendly and thought the service was good. I really was hoping for some great food but that was not the case today. I'm quite disappointed.

I first ate here years ago when I lived here and it was my first time eating Thai food. I thought then it was pretty good and ordered take-out several times. After I moved away I've had amazing Thai food that just blows your mind! I don't eat Thai food often, but now I know what Thai food is supposed to taste like. I came back here with my family the other night and realized that the food here is not a good as I remember. As a matter of fact, I was appalled at their Pad Thai. Not only was everything mediocre, my sister and I had an unpleasant experience after we got home in the bathroom. We both ate the Pad Thai. Yea - I won't be dining here again and I know that my family won't be coming back either.

Ohhhh dear. Folks, I keep coming back to update my reviews on this place, and I think this is the last time. After the last two disappointments, we cannot bring ourselves to risk Bahn Thai again. We have been there twice in the last, oh, six months. Both times, we ordered take-out, and both times, the food was HORRIBLE. Our old favourite, pad thai, was ruined: grey, slimy, overcooked, fewer vegetables (not that I'd want more, cooked that badly), the dominant flavour being plain, soggy RICE NOODLES. Seriously, it permeated everything. It was a struggle for us to finish our food. I, an amateur, could have made this a million times better at home. Because both these disastrous meals were the same disgusting quality, I suspect the restaurant has gotten a new, inexperienced cook. It is not worth testing their other dishes if we can expect the same quality portrayed by the abysmal pad thai. This place was my favourite for many years, but I have to find a new one now. I have heard Nattamit Thai Restaurant is superb.

I love this place! Bahn Thai was my first intro to Thai food 15 years ago. Since then I've eaten Thai food all over the country, and I'm pleased to say after returning to WA this place is still the best! The owners are very friendly and family oriented as well. This is also the nicest looking Thai restaurant I've ever been in. Don't hesitate to stop by if you're in the mood for Thai!

Arrived at 3:15 PM. Sign on door that read "Closed for lunch 3:00 to 4:00". Not good for business!

So, I was stuck in Silverdale, not many food options for this food snob, so you can imagine my excitement when I found a Thai restaurant while out on a run...I made a mental note to try this place later that evening. I was anxious to finally get some good grub. I decided to call In for pickup and here goes annoyance #1, no one picked up and the line kept ringing. After calling three times I decided it was best to go there. The space itself has traditional Thai decor, the private booths are awesome and it's a good place to come eat for the experience...better then take out. The girl at the counter was young, I'm guessing it's a family business, and she seemed a bit overwhelmed. She wasn't that helpful with suggestions. I decided on 2 noodle dishes one with veggies, the other with tofu since I'm a vegetarian, I specified NO MEAT! Food came out quick, I asked again what my order, to verify dj was correct after that I felt I didn't need to check. #2 the order was wrong and worse there was beef in one of the noodle dishes!!! There was no tofu or veggies on the pad Thai, it was very basic. I'm going to guess this was just a coincidence and that since they were busy they mad a mistake, but come on, I ordered two noodle dishes, very easy. Since they were friendly and the decor was decent I'll give it 3 stars. I definitely do see potential and next time (if there is a next time) I will dine in to see if my experience is better.

To be honest, I've had better Thai food in San Diego. Thai tea drink was delicious. Even the tom yum soup was on point. However, when it came to the satay chicken, I was pretty disappointed because the chicken was dry and lacking flavor. As for the red curry, bamboo shoots were strong to my liking. I've had bamboo shoots before but it never tasted so strong. Perhaps change switch brands? The pork dishes were hard to chew. I suggest to always cook fresh meat!

Yumm. Very good pad Thai and fried tofu. Three stars is way more spicy than most three stars. Great for take out too.

in LOVE with this place!!!! What ever I try, it's GOOD!! And my oh-so-picky hubby loves this place! I love too how you can choose the hotness of your food! LOVE the black rice with coconut milk, and orange tea (don't recall what it's called) also the deep fried peanut sauce appetizer is YUMMO! Love too that you take your shoes off and climb the step into the booth (or they have chairs)

The best Thai restaurant in Kitsap County by far! Food is great and the waitstaff are always friendly and attentive. A few things to know though: 1. The employees speak very little English 2. The Menu is massive 3. If you want a booth be prepared to take your shoes off 4. They give a 5% discount when paying with cash 5. The Tom Kha soup is amazing....nom nom

The place has a strange, horrible smell! Once we stepped inside, I was hit with this overwhelmingly horrible odor, which I could not place. I really should have followed my instinct and left right then and there. Interior decoration is really nice. If you have a small party, you'll be sat in a very traditional Thai sunken table. These tables have walls on three sides, like a cubicle. Unfortunately, this seating cannot accommodate a party of six. We were sat outside of the 'inner sanctum' of the food cubicle farm at a very uncomfortable table. The physical menu looked dated, old and jacked. Someone really should have invested in buying new menus several years ago as it's not very appetizing to see bite marks all over your plastic menu. In spite of my better judgement, we ordered food. The main spice for ALL food items is responsible for the horrid smell of the place. I've been to Thailand. I've had lots and LOTS of Thai Food all over the world, and NO WHERE have I been to a Thai restaurant with this strange, repugnant smell. The Tom Yum soup tasted like Warhead candy, and not in a good way. It was also greasy. Oh, and it was spicy as hell! The combination gave me instant heartburn. The 'barbecue pork' had some sort of crunchy coating and was deep fried. Who the hell deep fries 'barbecue'? The satay chicken was a repulsive color of yellow. It arrived cold, greasy and bland, except for that same horrid spice. The satay chicken was served with a peanut sauce that looked more like melted peanut butter. The rice was dry, sticky and lacked any hint of fragrance you might expect from jasmine rice. There were a few more items that we ordered: curry chicken, pad see yew, pad thai, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken nuggets. I couldn't bring myself to taste these, as by this time, I felt like I was going to hurl. I spent all of the next day in the toilet. ALL. DAY. IN. THE. TOILET. Thank you Bahn Thai

I get ecstatic when I step inside a restaurant for the very first time and my mind is immediately transported to happy memories of the past. Having dinner at Bahn Thai Restaurant this evening was a purely impulsive decision. I wanted VERY spicy food so my partner suggested Bahn Thai. As it turned out, it was an excellent suggestion. Even before we were seated, I was taken back to my very first visit to Thailand, then to my second. All the sights and smells came rushing to the front of my brain with no mercy. If it were not for the well-thumbed menus that were handed to us by one of the kindest faces I'd ever seen in a restaurant, I think I might have drowned in the flood of images in my mind. In case you are rolling your eyes at the melodramatic review so far, well, suck it up. Bahn Thai Restaurant is mouth-wateringly and gut-wrenchingly GOOD. So, so, so bloody good. Flavors and textures exploded upon us in every bite of our Roast Duck Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken and Tom Yum Soup with Chicken. Meat was tender, nuts were crunchy, and vegetables were crisp. We went with level 4 spiciness for both the curry and soup. While level 4 delivered a pronounced bite, we agreed that we could have asked for level 5 (the highest) and we wouldn't have died. In fact, it just occurred to me that not once did I need a drink refill during our meal. LOL. Thank you for making my first visit such an evocative one, Bahn Thai. And thank you for being so generous with your smiles and hospitality during our dinner. I adored every single one of you and cannot wait to return for my sophomore visit. :)

Sooo good! Had the appetizer sampler and everything was Delish! The peanut sauce was amaze. We ordered the house fried rice and crispy sweet and sour chicken. I can appreciate the crispyness of the saucy chicken. :) The servings looked small but are not at all. I love me some good Thai food!

Chicken Satay and Chicken Pad Thai are my staples here ! I really enjoy my meal every time. Amm is a delightful waitress and our food comes out in a timely manner and always tasting good. It never seems overly busy - but with a good steady stream of customers coming in. It is a nice place to go in the rotation of dinner outings in this small town!

I love Bahn thai. They have the best Thai iced tea and crab delight ever. I love their yellow curry and everyone is really nice. They offer a cash discount so I always pay in cash. I have compared them to other local thai and they are definitely teh best.

Their food is pretty good! I like the phad see lew, pineapple curry fried rice, and their green curry! I just don't like having to take my shoes off while we're their. It doesn't look like they sanitize the area where your feet would go. Their service could be better. They are very unorganized and they don't seat people who have been waiting for a while.

This food and service is horrible! I felt so ripped off. The girl is here is so rude, our food was cold and they never come back to check on you. Save yourself time and money and don't come here.

Our first time trying Thai food in this area. Just moved from San Diego where we had several favorite Thai places we loved. We were hoping to find a fantastic and authentic Thai restaurant and this place did NOT disappoint!! I ordered the 3 curry sampler ( level 3 out of 10) and each one was amazing! The sampler is a great way to have all the curries when you just can't decide on just one. Portion size was spot on, but if you love lots of rice then ask for extra. Overall great atmosphere, wonderful staff and amazing food!

My firat time here... pretty damn good... I didnt even come here when i was stationed here. All around great expierence. Wait staff was nice and accommodating and food was prepared quick leavening a short wait time. 5 stars from me great job Bahn Thai.

We tried the tofu with peanut sauce because of reviews written here, did not care for it although peanut sauce was great fried tofu was weird. Green curry was awful, it smelled bad and the taste was not good. Everything else we had was excellent! The service was also excellent and the waitress very entertaining. Word of caution: I eat spicy food regularly and ordered 3 stars on the 1 to 5 scale of spiciness it was SPICY. Unless you eat habenero chills I would get 2 stars. We had a great dining experience and I recommend this place.

Best Thai in Kitsap, hands down. Make sure you sit in a booth so you can take your shoes off and really get the most out of your experience! Don't worry, the restaurant doesn't smell like feet; it smells like you are overcome with a hunger that only Thai can satisfy. Seriously though, the food was phenomenal. We got the appetizer sampler to start which was a great introduction to the meal. For my main dish I got the seafood golden pot. It was amazingly light and flavorful. I could eat that everyday for the rest of my life and be happy. No exaggeration. My fiance got the moo yang and really enjoyed it as well. For dessert we split the snowball which I now want all year round. I will be back. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe later today. Who knows.

So I ordered chicken phad Thai for take out and found raw chicken in it. I called the restaurant and they offered to remake it. I left work and brought my original order back with the raw chicken (and a couple of stray pieces of beef?) for the cook to look at. I was certain the next order would be fine because of the first having raw poultry and thought they wouldn't do it twice. I again had pieces of raw chicken in their remake. It wasn't under cooked, it was raw. I had other people confirm it so I knew I wasn't mistaking it. I will never eat there again and I'm hoping I don't get food poisoning

Food was luke warm and meat was as chewy as a leather belt. Not enough food for the price. I sadly would not recommend this place even the the atmosphere is very nice and so is the staff.

This place was amazing! It was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Probably the best Thai food I've had locally. I live in Federal Way, but would defiantly make the hour drive to eat here again! Highly recommend!!

I've eaten at lots of Thai places in the Northwest and this isn't my favorite. I've ordered the chicken pad see ew and chicken pad Thai and there's just no wow factor. I like my Thai food spicy so I order four stars and it's just blah. Not my first choice for Thai food.

Went for lunch. Loved the booths with the steps into it! Both of us got Pahd Thai and it was wonderful. I got it a 2 on the spicy scale, and found it to be spicy, just the right amount. :) Very attentive service. Will return!

After moving from Seattle where good Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen, I'm happy to finally discover a Kitsap restaurant with good food, an excellent selection, great service, and reasonable prices over here. We tried the green curry fried rice, Phad Sie Ew, and fried ice cream, all of which were excellent. The atmosphere is classy, charming, and comfortable, and the service is top-notch.

Reluctantly bumping Bahn Thai down a star because: - Service the last two times I went was painfully slow and rushed... they seemed way understaffed. - The Pad Thai was very blah. Try going sometime besides peak dinner time Friday/Saturday night, and do try the pre-selected Regional Combos and the Thai iced tea!

One of my favorite places to go out to eat at. I love their Basil chicken & Ginger Chicken two of my top favorite dishes from here, everything else I have had from here is equally as delicious. I love getting to sit in the booths with the cushions and pillows and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. Definitely going back here again soon!

I love their pineapple fried rice. It was delish that I even try to cook it the very next day. The place looks authentic and the server are pleasant. They can also accommodate how spicy you want your food to be. Great choices for lunch menu.

Great food and awesome service! Everyone was very pleasant and courteous here. The mamasun curry and sweet & sour crispy chicken were both excellent! My parents, who are both thai food aficionados, loved this place! Highly recommend it!

We have not been disappointed thus far. The wait staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. The food is great and always comes out hot and fresh. My favorites are chicken pad thai and the pineapple rice. Very yummy.

Best Thai in Kitsap County! Light, fresh, and delicious. Good portions and good prices. My standard is their Pad See Ew and my husband generally gets curry or fried rice or curried fried rice. If we aren't too stuffed we share a fried ice cream, it's a perfect dessert for two!

Meh. In subsequent visits the food is back to being good, but not great. I'm perplexed how one evening could have been so scrumptious & the exact same menu items after that experience over the last few months have been mediocre to good. Boo. Did I mention I'm half Thai & have eaten in Bangkok, Mahsarakham & Phuket? Yeah, I kinda know what good Thai food should taste like.

  • Christine R.

Like other reviewers, this is a solid 3-Star experience. I love Thai food, and although this wasn't a bad experience, it wasn't mind blowing either. They have a great menu with many of the Thai staples you will find anywhere. They have great service and the Pad See Eew came out just the way I like it. The Phad Thai was okay, but I've had better. The eating and culinary experiences in Silverdale/Bremerton is very limited. I hate to say it, but it's as if people must think we don't deserve good food. This is a plea sent place that meets my expectations of a local restaurant. I'll probably come back since the food was solid.

  • Joy Y.

Food was OK I had better. The service was poor me and hubby was the only people there and 2 other people. The server took the order came back and brought us food after that never came back until we finished eating our food. I'm Thai I understood everything they said in the back but did not say anything. They were chit chatting instead of serving the costumers. Never did come back to serve us water until we were almost done eating and handed us the check. Never went back to the place again they suck. Some coworkers of mine like them but as for me I don't...

We've moved here recently and today the entire family had a craving for some good Thai food. We found it here. We ordered the pineapple fried rice for the kids and they LOVED it! (so did my husband and I). We also got the phad thai, with chicken and it was pretty tasty. I got the seafood Tom Kah, love the broth. It had a bit too much fish and not quite enough of the other seafoods but it was flavorful and I was happy. We will definitely be eating here again. By the way, we called in our order to pick up and the 2 people we spoke with we're extremely nice and polite but I can't comment on their waiters.

I want to love this place, I really do. But I just cant. The first time the service was the worst service I have ever had. The woman was obviously overwhelmed by the volume of people in the restaurant. It took her 20 minutes or more to get to our table, got an order wrong, did not refill our waters, forgot to bring our checks, was short with us.. I mean it was like all bad things you don't want in one meal. I did give the restaurant another chance because I love thai food. I ordered take out. They got my order wrong which I did not realize until I got home. I had to drive all the way back, they gave me free eggrolls for the mistake, but the curry I had was so oily I couldn't even eat it. I am disappointed in this restaurant. The first time I had their yellow curry it was delicious, the second time I had it it was terrible. I tried their pad see ew the third time which are flat large egg noodles.. and it was actually decent.

This is pretty good Thai food. Authentic flavor and cooked with the right flare. They will do it as hot as you like or just as mild..if you truly like Thai then I would head here for a great meal..so far all my meals have been spot on!

Dined in once and now I am hooked! My husband and I ordered one of their sampler type meals and enjoyed everything, but nothing compares to the delicious-ness of their red curry...I crave it almost weekly. We usually do take-out...I have the red curry and my husband experiments with a new phad thai. They are always prompt and the food is consistently great!

One word for this place- delicous. I went with my hubby for the first time. We had to take our shoes off to sit at the booth. Food was very tasty. The thai tea is great.

The food was just as good as any other Thai restaurant I've ever been too. Service was great as well! I just think some of the items on the menu are a little overpriced.

We visited Bahn Thai last night. The place looked good and clean inside and out. Staff was friendly and we kicked off our shoes and got comfortable. We had the Pad Thai (the chicken version). It was just "ok" not something I'd order again. The sprouts were cooked in with the noodles which made them really soggy. It didn't look appealing or appetizing. It was really disappointing as we enjoyed the place and were hoping we had found a replacement for our old favorite Thai restaurant on the other side of the water in Des Moines.

I have eaten here countless times over the last 5 years. Being a creature of habit I always get the same things; Red Curry Chicken - the red curry and coconut base is awesome. I've tried to make a red curry base close to this at home and I can't even come close. It's awesome. Swimming at the bottom of the bowl the entree is served in, you will find rice, red peppers and bamboo. It has been great every time I've had it. Chicken Phad Thai - this dish seems to be very inconsistent. Most of the time it's above average. Sometimes it's awesome. There are a few times when I haven't been disappointed. Just depends on who is cooking that day I guess. If you're in the area for lunch and get it to go the portion size is great for just over 8$. Chicken Satay - I can't really compare this to anywhere else since I haven't had it anywhere else but I love it! The service is pretty good most times. They're usually quick about getting your plates up when you are finished and they don't make you wait too long for the check when you are done. I really like the booths, it really adds to the experience of going out. I like eating here when I get the chance.

Normally, when an ethnic restaurant is well decorated, I am immediately distrustful of the food. Don't be fooled by Bahn Thai. The decorations are trendy--yet somehow still feel Thai--and the food is superb. Bahn Thai is an all-around winner. At the beginning of the menu, they describe the differences in Thai regional cuisines. Then they offer set menus characteristic of each region, and while they have the standard menu layout afterward, I appreciated the groupings and would suggest giving it a try. We went with the northern cuisine, and every dish was fantastic. Meats and prawns were cooked to just the right tenderness. The dishes were flavor bombs of Thai deliciousness: lemongrass, lime, coconut, cilantro. I'm going to throw a good word out for the Tom Yum soup: a tasty lemongrass broth with prawns and mushrooms. Best Thai Iced Tea I've had in a long while. Cost was around $20 a person, including tax and tip, and I'd be willing to pay a lot more for what Bahn Thai delivers. My last comment is that the place is pretty quiet, as in, you can hear each other talk. For me, that's a big plus, because I hate going to restaurants where you have to shout to hear your date talking.

Went here for dinner on Friday with a friend. I ordered the Pad Thai again but ordered it with chicken and vegetables. It was very good. I ordered 3 stars and it was not spicy at all. So I would maybe go up to 4 stars if you like some heat.

My family and I have continued to frequent this place, so I am not writing this as a one and done. Difference is I'm fed up with their lack of quality. We live in the area and enjoy eating somewhere local and healthy. However every single time I order food from there, it lacks taste and spice. I have tried asking for 4 stars, tried asking for 2 stars, all in an effort to get some kind of spice and flavor to the food. Just hasn't happened. I have dined both inside and carryout, with the same results each time. The staff is friendly and service is good but that will only get you so far. If you're looking for just plain flood that lacks flavor and spice this is the place for you. After countless attempts yesterday was my last time. Good luck to the rest of you.

I had never been here before and my date suggested we go, so away we went. The menu was well laid out and actually very informative to the specific ingredients from each of the four regions of Thailand. plus #1. We looked over the menu and found that the combination meals gave a nice mix of dishes and plus a appetizer and soup for $16 a piece not to bad. The meals consisted of PRA RAHM , chicken and spinach in a peanut sauce, PHAD THAI with shrimp, Tom Yum Chicken soup and Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were good, the soup was a really good, a good balance of sweet (coconut milk) and spicy, The pra rahm was tasty with spinach and chicken and the phad thai was amazing. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with "traditional" seating and nicely decorated. Very good wait staff and checked in on us regularly. Overall a really good time.

The food here is always spectacular. The building is very decorative and pretty. I also love that you can sit in a booth and not wear shoes. I dont know why this is, but I do find it highly entertaining. My main complaint is that portions are small and there is no seperate vegetarian section on the menu. I love the pad see eww. The rice dishes are also good. I would love to try the vegetarian dinner combo some day, but sadly you have to have more than 1 person wanting it . One of the better restaurants in the silverdale area.

I've been here a few times, and like many others I'm giving it a solid 3-stars. PROS: -The booth seating area. You can have a nice intimate conversation, it's cozy and comfortable. Don't forget, you have to take off your shoes! - The food comes fast after ordering. At least the time I went there, we waited no longer than 10 mins for the food to arrive after ordering. - Nice service. Actually nicer than the last time I came here. Don't know if that's a regular occurence or not. - When the food is decent, it's decent. I like Thai Fried Rice (with the tomato, carrots, egg, etc) And the peanut sauce on chicken with spinach is good too. CONS: - Food is hit and miss though. It can be good, and it can be mediocre. The pork we got was okay, but it also wasn't the okay you can keep eating, we didn't finish it. - Prices. It's pretty high and the portions are big enough to cover it. It's decent, but not the best value for your buck. - Spicy Levels. I'm not the kind of person who can take spicy. I figured 1 star would be too mild, so we asked for 2 but it seemed extremely hot only for 2 stars. I couldn't eat the fried rice after a few bites. :x My bf and I ate here, and it cost is about $50. Fried rice, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks with tip. Honestly, that's pretty pricey for us.

Remember that Wendy's commercial with the old ladies looking at a burger and asking, "where's the beef?" Well, Bahn Thai had me asking, "where's the heat?" I ordered the special, garlic chicken and pad thai, with three stars on a scale of 1-4, mild, medium, hot, very hot. The dish had no heat whatsoever. None. The garlic chicken had decent taste, but no spiciness. The pad thai was like before - overly sweet without much taste. The service was decent, but when I pointed out the lack of heat (at the end of the meal) she said, "oh I guess they forgot." That pretty much sums it up. Overall, not very impressed with the food.

Bahn Thai is my favorite Thai food restaurant on this side of the water, and i'm a huge fan of Thai Food. Aside from the few times I decide to try something new, I typically stick with two dishes whenever I eat Thai. I love Phad Thai, and I love Phad See Iew. Typical, I know. But in both circumstances, i'm never disappointed when I go to this restaurant. Both dishes are well portioned and extremely delicious. They go great with a side of rice and peanut sauce. My only qualms with the place are just little annoyances. On random occasions beyond my comprehension they'll sometimes add gratuity to the bill, even though there were only 4 people in our party. Like most Asian places, there isn't free refills on the soda. But these are both very minor things in the big picture. I quite often take my food to go, but if you decide to eat in they have a very nice interior with a calm atmosphere. The people that work there are always very nice and spot on when it comes to noticing when you need their assistance. If you like Thai food and live in the Silverdale area this is the essential place to go.

Excellent food! They let you take off your shoes for special Thai tables but, they don't let you play Legos in the bathroom.

It seems like there have been a big improvement on the customer service, maybe they read what I wrote? Anyways, I came back a few more times and I actually enjoyed it. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of the 2 I gave them before.

I love their food here! Weve never had a bad meal yet.

This place was delicious, paying 7.50 for their lunch time pad Thai was a fair price. However their portion was the smallest I've ever had. but it was served with soup and rice.

Bahn Thai is okay and also your only option for Thai food in Silverdale if you can believe that. I always get the chicken and peanut sauce over spinich (swimming rama, swimming angel, rama gai, etc.). The portions aren't as big as I'd like, I mean, I know American's expect these huge gluttonous portions, I don't want that. Just enough to fill me up. They offer table seating where you can not have to take off your shoes. Seating at a booth requires you to remove your shoes, which I think is tacky and kinda gross, but it's available if you like that sort of thing. The service is always decent. Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about.

This place USED to be decent, what happened? Slow service(although our waitress seemed friendly) and the food was so/so. Not exactly hard to mess up and certainly not authentic Thai, but have to say the crab wontons are always hot 'n crispy little pillows of delicious! The flavors of the main dishes seem muted compared to other places that serve this cuisine, maybe they believe they have to "Americanize" to appeal to a wider audience. Disappointing.

After doing some research, as I was jonsing for some Thai food, I decided on Bahn Thai. Nice quick drive from where I was staying and the decor outside and in is very nice. So I was expecting some pretty decent food right?? Wrong. I ordered the Masaman Curry, which to me is just fantastic....anywhere else. This particular Masaman was watery and practically tastless, almost like a broth. I mixed it up hoping that the broth would maybe need a little time to thicken. Nope. To me, this is such a fundamental curry, I've had it in Atlanta, NYC, Chicago and Miami.....all of which have differences, but a nice conistency. This was a true disappointment. I will say the service was very nice and I did not want to be rude and send the dish back. I sincerely doubt I would return here, even on an expense account.

Sorry - have to disagree. Food was OK, but the staff seems to hide in the back except to deliver food. Imagine my annoyance when I found the entire lid from an opened can in my soup bowl (!). The most irritating thing was, we had to wait until the entree came to tell the waitress. Her only reaction was to mumble and take it away - then bring back the same bowl (scratched side) with what I assime was the same soup, this time with no metal. No apologies, no discount, nada. Good food, but they hacked me off. Won't go back.

I have to go against the grain a bit here... I have never had a meal from Bahn Thai that wasn't good, really good actually. but... for what you get the pricing is terrible! I love thai food, but I guess I got used to the city and the inexpensive thai that included a huge plate of food for very little price... that is something i love. I think that while they do make good food, they're priced out the roof. Also the tables in the ground and all are cute but not totally practical, they have rules with them i think, and I just feel like everything I manages to get into one I need to get up to pee or something... i suggest avoiding that novelty. Food is good. Service is fine. I just really appriciate the good quality thai I can get elsewhere for half the price a whole lot more. (Also i checked not good for kids, simply because its like a bull in a china shop or something... leave the kids at home for this one, its a nice quiet atmosphere with a certian feeling of sophistication.)

Not bad, better than I remember last time I went. I decided to give it a try after having some very poor thai food at my normal place. Service was great. I felt the soup was watery thought. Not a lot of excuse for that. But the Pad Thai that I ordered was a delicious blend of spices and flavors. Not greasy at all like some I've had. Portion could have been bigger and the price was just a tad high but other than that this was a pretty good experience. Just not sure if I'm willing to make it my regular place.

I think I have eaten there before and it was good - but I don't remember and unfortunately I will remember this time - short story - we didn't even take home the doggie bag! first the service was good and fast - the decor was good. but the food was really awful and I am not picky. The green curry was the best of the three dishes and it was not that flavorful at all - luckily it was spicy and it covered the other lack of flavors. The chinese eggplant was overcooked in parts and raw in others in a soup instead of a sauce. The rad nah had a strange aftertaste like something was rotten. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. but we thought it was a waste of money. I would be extremely leary of trying it again!

I'm half thai so I had big exceptions about this place when I first came here. The ambiance is great. The booth thing is kinda neat and food has always been good, but not great. However, within last couple years or so...I don't if it's the economy or what, but they have been a bit pricey and the food quality has gone down. Still like their thai ice tea though.

Please, do not support this business. They are extremely racist. We went for dinner, they served everyone, we wait for long time to be served, they attended all Caucasian and Asian first. When i contacted the waitress to express my concern she immediatly said they don't care about it.

Place was empty on a Sunday night, but looked very inviting. I'm not sure why they can't pack it out. I ordered a Thai Iced-Tea and the Red Curry to go. The Red Curry looked odd though - I suspected the cream in the curry paste was of inferior quality or (yikes) just old. I still ate it though and everything tasted "normal". I should have tried Phad Thai which was just down the street :P

Very yummy. A little on the pricey side. I really like snacking on their deep-fried basil leaves.

We ordered take out and had a curry dish with tofu, another with vegetables and chili paste, pad thai and tom kha soup. All items were off the vegetarian menu which stated no meat. The soup, however had chicken in it. The veggies with basil and chili paste was okay, but the rest was pretty greasy and bland. It lacked the complex balance of flavors I usually associate with Thai food, which is usually a splendid combination of salty, spicy, sweet and sour. I miss Seattle.

It was always a tie between here and Sushi Origami for my ex's favorite place to dine out. I'm probably being a little generous with the 4 stars but I've never had a bad experience here. The food has always been tasty and plentiful enough for me to make two meals out of it. I've never had to wait for a table and service is friendly (although very quiet, like most Asian places I've been). Bahn Thai is my favorite Thai place (of the three in the area)...I kind of miss it...especially out here with DC prices.

First time eating there tonight, and while I'm not a Thai food expert, I liked it a lot. I had the Phad Thai with shrimp, the wife had pineapple fried rice with chicken. I had an Alaskan Amber and SWMBO had a glass of wine, and between us we split some meat on a stick for an appetizer, and the bill came out to right around $40, which I found very reasonable. My food was tasty, and the wife realy enjoyed her rice. If we has combined our efforts, there was no doubt in my mind that there would have been plenty of grub for lunch the next day. Service was good, and we really like the atmosphere. Don't wear socks with holes in them, as you need to take your shoes off to eat at the table.

I really like this place. I think it's a little pricey, but worth it to have something different from hamburgers and fries. The atmosphere is what bring my husband and I back. Private booth, kick off your shoes. We eat here for special occasions, and because we can't afford to eat here anymore then that. Great Food. Bahn Thai rice is my favorite! they have a great soup with lemon grass, mushrooms, and spices that will kick any cold, and clear out the sinuses. Every time we have gone the service has been SUPER nice. Not too fast, but it's fine with me I would rather take my time and savor everything.

The food and the atmosphere here are amazing. I go here with my roommate whenever we have the opportunity. If you ever get a chance to pop in, sit in a booth! The service is sometimes a little slow, but the food is so good, the prices are so reasonable, and the servers are so polite when you engage them in conversation. There's another Thai place that's fifteen minutes CLOSER to where I work and I still take the time to drive here!

i've never had a bad experience here with the food. absolutely wonderful phad thai and i love their fried tofu with peanut sauce. my friends and i try to go at least once when my comes back from school break. EDIT: did they get new management? the last two times i ordered food there it wasn't as good as usual.

Bahn Thai is always pleasing. I have never had a bad experience here. When seated, you are given the option for a booth or table. Be warned, sitting in a booth requires that you take off your shoes. Personally, I love the booths. The wait staff is friendly, and the food is tasty. Be cautious of the stars! I am a huge fan of spicy food, so I go for the 4 stars. This is the first Thai restaurant that I have eaten at, so I am unable to compare it to any other Thai food

Top notch Thai food at an affordable price. Bahn Thai has some of the best Phad Thai I've ever had, and I've been to Thailand. I was first here about fifteen years ago, and I try to hit it whenever I visit home.

I'm sorry but this is not good thai food...for those that listed it was the best maybe they've never eaten thai food anywhere else? We got Phad Thai and a curry and they were flavorless and gross. We've never gone back...maybe they were having a bad night but it was gross.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
