Our host, Mark, made us feel so welcome that it made our brief vacation in Sequim truly memorable. Perfect location to check out the lavender farms or take a day trip to Port Townsend and wander the shops of some talented area artists.

We rented Williams Manor for a birthday weekend, complete with gourmet meal. The house is lovely; comfortable, but with antiques that you are not afraid to sit on. The grounds are peaceful and serene, with fruit trees, blackberry bushes, a hammock and a great outdoor space. The food was unbelievably good. We had a dinner for four people that would have easily served eight, with organic produce that Mark grew. The menu: Stuffed mushrooms with crostini and the best tapenade we had ever tasted; spinach salad with raspberry and lavender vinaigrette with such a great flavor that you could smell it as well as taste it; antipasto with pickled garlic shoots; butternut squash in cream sauce (flawless) and shrimp and chicken dishes that I didn't taste but I was informed were amazing, followed by a berry parfait that was spectacular. It's a B&B, so Mark also made an amazing quiche for breakfast. He is the perfect host: attentive, but not intrusive. He left the breakfast so we could eat at our leisure, and made the dinner at the time we requested, and then left us to enjoy it, also at our leisure. We had a wonderful experience. Will definitely recommend to friends. Thanks, Mark!

Mark Schwartz catered our reception in the garden of McComb Nursery, at the day's end of our nursery tours. Mark is the chef for the Williams Manor and Organic Gardens, a new bed and breakfast in Sequim. It was a delicious meal prepared with seasonal and organic ingredients, much of which Mark actually grew himself! Stuffed tomatoes, shrimp with herbed cream cheese on baguettes, blue cheese dip with crackers - everything was scrumptious and beautifully presented. And the pickled garlic scapes were so incredible, I believe I embarrassed myself. Mark's task was complicated by serving outdoors, in a garden and a somewhat limited budget. Thank you, Mark for pulling it together so well. Our group, APLD, the Association of Professional Landscape Designers was visiting the Olympic Peninsula from Seattle. Stayed on 8/8-9/13. Mark, the host, was very gracious and the breakfast spread (quiche; fruit; juice; coffee; pastries; homemade jam; etc.) was fantastic. Very quiet, nice gardens, and central to both town and the country. Dinner was in town at Alder Wood Bistro -- get the mussels (red sauce) for sure. All and all, a great trip.
