Interesting find. No signage to direct patrons to the restaurant except the Pink-colored, unassuming and unadorned door as a sign that you have found it. Once inside, you are walk down the stairs and welcomed into a grand and spacious restaurant. It was quite unexpected. I sat on the balcony, which looks out into the water and is hidden from view. It's spectacular. Caesar salad with lobster - the lobster was fresh and tasty. Overall, a well-balanced dish with appropriate amount of lettuce to dressing.

After reading about all the reviews I had really high expectations for this place. It was pretty easy to find since it was right down the alley right next to pike place. It had a salmon colored door. But I just typed in the pink door on my gps and it was easy to find. But a car wouldn't be able to access this alley so it's better to just walk. It is directly Across from a Italian restaurant. Right when we entered the salmon colored door, we walked down the stairs and was greeted by hosts and servers. They had a lot of empty indoor seating considering it was lunch time, 1pm when my bf and I went but the patio was fully seated. But there was no wait nor did they ask us if we wanted to sit indoor or outdoor. So they directed us outside to the patio area. We were greeted by our server, elyse. She told us about the specials for that day. She recommended getting the crab risotto and even saying there was rice and corn and crab inside. My boyfriend got the pink door lasagna. I got the caprese pink door salad. We also ordered the garlic bread. Our server came by with some cocktail and said the bar made extras and have it to us on the house. I forgot what it was called but it had some champagne and spritz topped with an orange. Not too long later our garlic bread came out and it was super burnt! It was brick hard and most of the bread was burnt black. So I told the server and she gave us another one. But they do give complimentary bread with olive oil. ( if you want balsamic, it's an extra $.50) My caprese salad came out and there was 2 full tomatoes on the plate with small cubes mozzarella cheese and a couple slices of ricotta cheese. This salad was a joke. It literally was just halved tomato and oil and some cheese and it cost $12! I've had caprese salad before at other restaurants and it was way better than this. As the people sitting around us were getting their food before us, my bf and I wondered if they forgot about our food. People who were sitting around us got their food way before we did when they ordered after us! It was ridiculous! We waited a good 30 minutes after our garlic bread was given to us. We had to ask our server when our food was coming and she said she would check on it. She then came out with our food. I'm pretty sure she forgot about our food. She rarely checked back at our table and I had to get another servers attention multiple times. They had good service at the beginning but it went downhill after they brought out the bread. The lasagna was bomb!!! It tasted very creamy with pesto-like sauce and red marinara sauce. It was a pretty small portion. The risotto was straight up just corn and crab. There was not one grain of corn. It was in a thick orange sauce that wasn't very tasty. It was kind of bland for my taste and it was not filling either. I couldn't even ask my server if this was the right dish because it wasn't what she described it to be. Our server was no where in sight. So I just ate it. When she brought us our check, she didn't even come back for it. My boyfriend and I had to bring the check up to one of the servers and gave it to them and we left. Overall, this place is overrated. Not everything is good on the menu. And the prices for lunch menu cost around the same as the dinner menu. And the Service was good at first and then it got really bad. Our server seemed to be helping other servers with their table rather her own. I probably wouldn't come here again.

Pink Door is where my boyfriend and I had our first date. :) Before his move, we decided it would be appropriate to revisit one of our special favorite restaurants. He specifically requested the same table we had sat in on our first date with a warm and subtle candlelight placed at the edge of our corner table. Without a doubt, I was grinning like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Only, I wasn't sparking haunting fears in children. At least I hope I didn't. Oh well. We were quickly seated and the service was quick, as always. Our waitress was extra accommodating with our incompetent indecisiveness at the menu. Finally, we ordered: House Smoked Ahi Tuna Carpaccio (appetizer), Northwest Dungeness Crab Risotto (entree), Linguine Alle Vongole (entree), "Boobie Cake" and Trio Gelato to finish off our wonderful night. An addition to our wonderful dinner, there was a very sexy trapeze performance! I believe it was the same performer we saw during our first date! She was so talented and such an entertainment! Wishing I had her abs as I shoved food in my mouth. -.- We had to ask our waitress for more bread to pair with the smoked Ahi Tuna because the two break sticks weren't enough for us; it was so delicious! Usually I would order their prized Pink Door Lasagna, but this time I picked their linguine dish. It was good but I would skip this dish during my next visit and go for others. However, risotto was unique! Aside from the usual heavy, this dish was airy an fluffy, yet maintaining the perfect creaminess consistency. Onwards to my favorite part: dessert. The "Boobie Cake", living up to its name, was lustfully delectable. It is a dark chocolate covered coat with mocha mousse inside topped with tiny edible gold (paper?) shavings. Pairing the Boob Cake with the Trio Gelato was indescribable, other than it was SO good. The gelato flavors were hazelnut, pistachio, and vanilla paired with a nutty sandwiched cookie. It was a wonderful night! I felt so special:)

AMBIANCE: cool, with a stage for burlesque shows. However, when we went (Sunday), there was a trapeze artist, and the set up was a bit odd. To put it bluntly, she was up in another table's business because her "stage" is right in the middle of a bunch of tables. But it was still cool since I had a good seat... I might've thought differently if I was the dude trying to shrink away from her butt. FOOD: pretty average in my opinion. The trout was ok, nothing amazing, but it was good. The duck confit risotto was just a bit odd because the kumquats were super tart. It was too tart for a risotto. I think overall I just felt a little disappointed since this restaurant was hyped up so much. SERVICE: also pretty average. Nice, but nothing extremely noteworthy. I've been told this is a must in Seattle, so I am glad that we came here, however, I would probably not be a regular here as it is on the pricier side and the food is just average.

Maritime beer - yummm two thumbs up. Cioppino- this was seafood so I had no idea how this tastes. And the veggie lasagna - best veggie pesto lasagna I have ever had!!!!! Must!!!!!! How cute is this place?!?! And the pink door. Haha i love it. It'll be more prettier if they update on the paint job and be more pink. The waiter was so consistent on pouring my water. It was great.

I was recommended to come here from a family member who also took a trip to Seattle. It is a cute little place in post alley. If you don't have a smart phone or gps, then this place may be a task for you to find. There are no signs declaring where the restaurant is at, just simply a pink door. I really enjoy that about this restaurant. It kind of gives it a mysterious and divey vibe. I made reservations well in advance to come here on a friday night. Unfortunately, I should have made it a Saturday night so my lady and I could have been entertained with the trapeze and burlesque shows. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay and dine here that Friday night. The place was packed! I feel like the tables were really close to each other and was a little uncomfortable, but then again, 90% of the restaurants in Seattle were like this, especially those that are located in the Pike Market. We were quickly sat by our host and immediately approached by our very kind server. I can't remember his name, but it is the guy with glasses and a beard. He was very friendly and had great recommendations of the type of food we may like and also dessert places around the area after our meal here. Although the place was a little cramped, it had a very romantic ambiance. The candles on each of the table and also there were candles acting as a chandelier above us as well. It is certainly a great place to take someone out on a date. It was also quite entertaining watching the people walk by outside and stare down on us like we were in a zoo trying to see what we were eating and what the name of the restaurant was. After we got our waters, the server gave us some rustic bread and a small bowl filled with olive oil. Normally, I enjoy the balsamic vinegar to go along with it, but the olive oil was really good and didn't need any. It is funny because on the menu it literally describes the olive oil as, "really good olive oil". I couldn't have explained it any more better. Our server was also quick to give us more bread when we ran out too. I also want to commend the guys going around filling up waters. The same guy came to our table about 15 times because I kept drinking my water so quickly. For our entrees, she got the famous lasagna that yelp was telling everyone to get. It was really good. (Of course I stole a bite from her plate!) It was fresh spinach pasta layered with besciamella, pesto and topped with marinara sauce. ($18). Delicious. I got the mafalda con sugo di coniglio sugo of rabbit, mushrooms, pancetta & rosemary. ($18) Also, very delicious! The portion sizes weren't too big but I definitely could have eaten another 2 and half pounds of that pasta and lasagna. I would say this place is a great place to try out if you're in the area and have a date with you. I had a great time here. The food was good and the service was even better. Thanks bearded, glasses guy. You were awesome!

Amazing little gem in an alley in the middle of busy pike place. Nice and quiet spot to dine when everywhere else was buzzing with huge line ups on the weekend. Came here with a friend who lives in the area. Once you walk through what is literally a tiny pink door, you feel like you are in an old European restaurant. We started with half dozen oysters and their grilled calamari. So fresh and satisfying. We both had the pappardelle for our mains and it hit the perfect spot. I had a glass of this light red recommended by the waitress, went well with everything on my plate. can't wait to come back here.

Another Yelp-directed choice in Seattle, WA. The high ratings and mention of trapeze show definitely caught our attention. It's is a little bit like a speak-easy. Hard to locate in a small alley, the only way to identify the place is by its (you guessed it) pink door. Once inside, you're kind of transported to another time or place or dimension - it felt really old-timey. It's dimly lit, a little bit crowded, but has a really nice energy. Our server was extremely patient, explaining the menu, offering recommendations, giving tips and then leaving us to mull over it all. I went with a Bolognese with a meatball on the side. It was heavenly.. my boyfriend got their cioppino. The ocean was a block away from the restaurant so I really don't have to tell you how fresh the seafood was. I'm not a big seafood soup kind of person, but he was extremely pleased with the choice. The trapeze show was also quite amazing. I don't exactly know why people call it a burlesque; it's a little bit sensual, but extremely tasteful and artistic. The artist we saw was very talented and we got to see two sets during our dinner. It was fantastic and really added to the experience. Absolutely a wonderful, romantic setting with a fantastic menu.

I had bookmarked this place when I was planning our Seattle trip, it was one of the many I came across from yelp! After doing the food tour, we were walking around and I happened to see a sign pointing to the right "the punk door". We were pretty full from the food tour that I was trying to find the place but since I did, we ended up going. We walked in and it felt like there was huge private party going on due to the balloons all over the restaurant. Luckily it was not the case and we got seated right away. We ended up just trying their Ciopino which I liked. Service was good as well. Definitely a place I'd like to go back to and try some of the other stuff on the menu.

4 friends enter on a hot Seattle day based upon 1 of the friend's experience here for fancy dining and great view of sea. Italian is the motto at this restaurant and they serve very authentic food. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and recommended dishes among the 4 of us. I ordered the pappardelle al ragù bolognese and that was very delicious. Pasta perfecly al dente and the sauce was amazingly palatable. Other entrees we ordered included: mama's meatball, lasagna pink door. The lasagna was layered in flavor and the pesto sauce highlighted the flavors. The only thing that I found a little irritating was the Maître D' was right by the door to the porch which made us in the way of the waiters trying to get the food through the door. There seemed to be a poor way of functionality here as guests were in the way. Overall, come here for some good Italian food with a view.

Find the ugly salmon pink door upstairs....it will be worth it. This is an adorable and fancy place to eat with your date or girlfriends. I guess with a name like "The Pink Door," you would not find a bunch of dudes grabbing beers and chilling out. When I first walked into the restaurant, I was surprised by the beautiful patio seating outside. It was a nice summer day, and the patio provided the right amount of coverage as customers relaxed in cool shade with rays of sunlight warming their bodies from the cold Seattle air. As I was sitting, I could not help but notice my hobo attire. Everyone was adorned in semi-classy attire, while I was wearing my Northface jacket and jeans. Whatever, no one cares....just my insecurity talking. As for the food, I fervently enjoyed it. Although it is a bit out of my price range, considering that I could never find Italian food as great as this in Hawaii, the prices are reasonable. I had the $17 lasagna and it was filled with cheesy and pesto goodness. I loved its heaviness....not something you would eat on a healthy diet. My sister had the $17 linguine and it was a foodie's dream. The generous pile of clams was gorgeous and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Presentation and Taste criteria were both satisfied. The salad, on the other hand, was kind of weird. I do not know which salad my friend ordered, but I just consumed the hell out of it because there are not enough salads in Seattle. I was not a fan of the dressing, it was too sweet and kind of bland. I recommend ordering the salad as a complementary dish and not an actual meal....even though that is how a salad should be consumed (as a side dish as compared to a main entree). Bottom line: I'll probably be knocking again at the Pink Door...with better attire.

This place was okay. I read somewhere that this place had a romantic atmosphere to it, but I totally did not find it romantic at all... Anyways, I did appreciate that our server was very nice and polite to us. Overall the food was just average. We had the everything green salad, which I thought was pretty tangy and didn't really have much flavor to it other then tanginess. We also had the Bolognese (just alright, nothing really stood out) and the Cioppino (lacked depth in the broth and I didn't pick up any traces of the white wine at all).... I don't think I'll be returning here.

Pink Door House Smoked Ahi Tuna Carpaccio: Excellent carpaccio. Very tasty. A must try. Linguine Alle Vongole: Plenty of baby clams but linguine noodles slightly under cooked for texture. I liked the bacon in the linguine. Lasagna Pink Door: Made just right with some pesto noodle. Risotto: Highly recommended. Crab tasted fresh.

One of my fraternity brothers who's lived his whole life up here recommended this tucked-away-but-much-bigger-on-the-inside gem. I was half-expecting a sign, but no: just the pink door. Upon entry I'd marveled: how do they fit all this furniture, these fixtures, and these people in such a nondescript place? My wonder aside, I did note how crowded it seemed, but when we'd gotten to our table, it didn't feel as congested. In fact, I hadn't even noticed there was someone literally 5 inches behind me until I'd gotten up and bumped him slightly as we were leaving. Our server came and introduced both the wine menu and their three specials, which were $22, $36.40, and $42 respectively. I'd gone with the $22 one -- which based on the reviews seems to be pretty popular -- their squid ink pasta with shrimp and shellfish, as well as a somewhat-dry rose wine. My friend ordered the house wine and the lasagna. It had taken a while between the actual initial introduction of the specials and menus and the actual ordering, which I can probably partly attribute to the business of the place, but it was getting to a point that I was wondering how long it would be before we would give our selections. I'm not really certain if it was that night or if that was usual. What I'd found kind of internal-chuckle-inducing, but simultaneously I was thinking "what's up with him?", was a server assistant who came around periodically to refill our water glasses. He was so hasty in filling them that a couple times the water splashed out and into the candle, nearly putting it out. The expression on his face seemed to indicate he'd rather be doing something else than pouring water, or perhaps this particular task might have been punishment. He did make sure to top up every third time he passed by, though. The meal itself was delicious, and they'd even provided a bowl for the seafood shells. I was doing my best to keep the blinders on the cost of everything. I knew they'd had a policy on no split checks, but mercifully they do split payments. So, this pink-doored TARDIS with the somewhat loosely attentive servers, the server assistant with edge, the ambience that allowed for conversation to the point you're not even aware of other people around you, and the food that you devour in relish is still a great recommendation if one wishes to have an off-touristy Seattle experience. I would go again, but with probably a little more knowledge on how this place works.

No signage except a pink closed door, but deservedly picked! Wonderful genuinely Italian food delivered with superb service in a delightfully eclectic decor. Must haves: Bronzino, antipasto, sautéed calamari, any of their pastas, superb bread served with elegantly seasoned and exceptional olive oil, one of our very favorite Caesar salads, and more... We live close and drop in often. Bar is fun. Reservations recommended for the restaurant especially if you prefer their charming outdoor seating.

Its not often I take the time to write such a review that extends negative vibes or misrepresentation however, this experience is one I will never forget. The location, view and atmosphere is not even worth talking about however the service must be addressed. After taking more than 10 minutes to find based on the directions given when I called, I started to wonder whether it was even worth it. Im someone that is very good with directions as well. The host seated me right away with no problem however the server took more than 10 minutes to come to my table or make notice that I was there. Once I ordered my glass of wine, he brought me the taste, without showing the bottle and then rolled his eyes when i asked to see the bottle. His Pour was quite rude and rushing. Upon ordering my calamari, he continued to tell me about other specials although I told him I was good and didn't need any other details of the house specials. The calamari came within reasonable time, but only after I was 3/4 of the way finished did another server as if I wanted bread. This was served to every other guest upon ordering the drinks. The meal was great and I was trying to order some Cotorni(side dish) of spinach however the waiter not one came to my table from the time he poured my drink to the time I finished. I was serviced by 2 other girls(served me the meal, and asked for bread) Once I was ready to leave, I got up to use the restroom and came back to see if my bill was on the table. I then went to the hostess stand to ask for my bill. The Waiter came out and asked me if everything was OK and I said yes Perfect however i just wanted to speak to a manager and ask her about how she got the name pink door and so on and he got very rude with me when I asked to speak to a manager. Then in the end, with a $15 voucher for the restaurant, they wouldn't accept it because they said "We only take cash or Credit card, your voucher is not real money. Though it was for this restaurant. Anywho, never again..... rude staff... SOMEWHAT OK(below average) food and No concept of restaurant structure.

This place is awesome! Hiding on a side street, the Pink Door is easily missed. Unless of course it's a Saturday night at 20.30 and you're going to see the cabaret/burlesque show. We got in line about then for 21.00 doors. The evening is set for dinner and the show. If you don't want to do dinner than you have to wait around until the show and they will try to squee in some chairs. We were sat up against the window, looking out into the shopping center. Eh, I wish they would have closed the curtains or something. Dinner was very good. I had the risotto while the birthday boy (my husband) had the seafood in sauce. Both were very good. We also had delicious cocktails, but I can't remember what they were. After we finished eating, we sat for just a bit before they show started. I had my back to the stage while we ate, but they generously moved my seat around next to my husband for the show. It was a great show too! Fun, clever, and funny. Not sure how often it changes, but we saw four people doing two acts each. It ended around midnight which was perfect.

Decided to do a full, activity packed, 24-hour trip to Seattle and The Pink Door was the absolute best cap off to the trip. Per my friend's recommendation we checked them out. Definitely make a reservation, because the secret is out and this place gets packed. The location also has a cool speak easy vibe, as it's tucked away in the Post Alley, with no signage, and only its signature pink door. We had a great sunset view overlooking the water. Our server was knowledgable and very nice. The pacing wasn't rushed or too slow, and most important the food and cocktails were delicious. I was partially raised on Italian food and this definitely ranks up there. My next trip to Seattle will include a trip back to the Pink Door.

I have always wanted to try this place since I moved to Seattle. With all this buzz about the tiny pink door entrance and its exceedingly good reviews on Yelp, we were finally able to get a reservation for a Friday night, before our Phantom Of The Opera show at the paramount theater near by. The service was excellent. We were sat immediately upon our arrival. The interior design of the place is very quaint! The whole atmosphere was very elegant, playful, and homey! I felt very relaxed and at ease in its casual environment. We were served bread and olive oil. They do charge extra for balsamic vinegar. I believe it was 50cents for a small saucer. We ordered the Antipasto of the House! It was very good! Half plate was plenty enough for a table of two to share. For entrees, we had the Linguine Alle Vongole and the Ciopinno Pink Door. Honestly, I can say that I have had better Italian linguine and seafood dishes else where. The linguine was a bit salty to our taste. I'm glad though, that the clams retained their natural flavors. The Ciopinno was a little more disappointing. Tasted like minestrone soup with seafood in it. Maybe I had too high of an expectation for this place since it took me forever to actually come in. The food itself was mediocre. I just expected more, so much more.

A speakeasy-like restaurant with only a pink entrance door, located in Post Alley. Aside from the pale pink door and a small sign with the restaurant's hours, there are no signs or directions indicating where the restaurant is. Made a reservation through Open Table and were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. They also have a coat check available for customers. The atmosphere is warm and romantic, perfect for intimate dates. The waitresses and waiters are attentive, friendly and offered great pairing suggestions for items on the menu. A trapeze artist performed twice for us during linner, and it was such a nice surprise to see. I was more intrigued with the beautiful trapeze performance than my 'Rigatoni and Mama's Meatball' dish. The dish came with two, well-seasoned meatballs, rigatoni pasta and marinara sauce; the rigatoni tasted overcooked and overall the dish didn't meet my expectations. I tried some of the 'Lasagna Pink Door' and liked it much better than my dish. Overall, my first experience at The Pink Door was not what I expected it to be. If I were to come back during another trip to Seattle, I would skip the 'Rigatoni and Mama's Meatball' and try other dishes from their menu!

Nothing bad to say other than it is really just Italian food which is hard if you're paleo. I definitely recommend this place for dessert! Cute and charming and a great place for a quieter/romantic date.

I wanted everything to be perfect for her birthday. We arrived a little early, but instead of seating us at a less desirable table, they invited us to wait at the bar. That worked out wonderfully, because we ended up watching the trapeze show prior to dinner. The table was perfect to enjoy the sunset while eating our great dinner. The lasagna was superb, and her linguine with clams was the best she's ever had, even while visiting Italy.

Romantic little Italian restaurant tucked away in Post Alley. It's kind of a challenge to find this place. I love all the decor inside. Feels rustic, warm and welcoming. The entrance is literally a pink door haha. They give you bread with olive oil which later I found out they charge for balsamic vinegar?! Absurd. I had the Pappardelle bolognese and my boyfriend had the rigatoni. The food was just okay to me. Each dish is around $20 and the amount of food for mine was kinda small.. We should've stuck with our favorite, lasagna haha

If you can find this place, it's a great Seattle dining experience. Parking is quite the challenge down around Pike Place Market, and there's minimal signage telling you how to get here at best. As other reviews say, as well as the name of the place, look for the Pink Door. Good luck. Once you get in, provided you haven't starved on your journey, get ready for some deliciousness. I was advised to get the Lasagna Pink Door and was not disappointed - really solid. There's also a cabaret show happening above your face while you're stuffing it with pasta. Pretty unique. Food: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Good service and very good food near Pike Place Market. The lasagna is delicious. My only minor complaint was that we asked for indoor seating so we could hear the band, but none was available. Still, the meal was enjoyable and we would return.

Definitely a fan of the Pink Door. I enjoy its speakeasy-like feel, as the entrance and restaurant is buried inside another building. The ambiance is quite romantic, dimly lit with the small restaurant Italian feel. The place was littered with couples. Surprisingly, a table for 4 without reservations was seated pretty quickly on a Friday night around dinner time. Our waiter was great, attentive all night, gave great recommendations, and split the check between couples without a problem. Linguine Alle Vongole - Linguine Pasta was well boiled and wasn't overly soft and absorbed the sauce well. Baby clams were tasteful, and plentiful as there were probably 30+ on my plate. The white wine sauce with garlic was subtle and allowed the clams to dominate the dish. The pepperonis were the a great complement to the rest of the dish and provide great color.

Wow! Loved just about everything about this place. Great food and cocktails. Impeccable service. Gorgeous view. Entertainment. What's not to like?! The atmosphere here is beautiful... Each course I had was flavorful, inventive and pretty. The cocktails I sampled were delicious and visually appealing. Price-wise, menu was appropriately (moderately) priced. I truly enjoyed the interactions I shared with my knowledgeable and attentive server. My only regret was that I was unable to witness the shows that are put on during other week nights, however, the live music was great! Thanks Pink Door for a great evening!!

Everything you want in an Italian menu done not so well. On a trip up from Portland, my girlfriend and I saw great reviews of The Pink Door and wanted to see why so many people searched for the "secretive" entrance in Post Alley. From our perspective, this secret should be better kept. The pizza bianca had about a pound of mozzarella cheese on it which made for a soggy crust and heavy taste that masked the olive oil, arugula, goat cheese, and portobello mushroom flavors. The "Girella & Barely Cooked, Summer Tomatoes, Sauce fresh basil & di stefano burrata" was served with spoons to toss the cheese into the dish to create a creamy flavor and texture combining he cheese and sauce - a play with your food experience. However, the "barely cooked" tomatoes made for a dish that was luke warm at best and almost seemed like it had spent some time under the lamps to be served with my girlfriend's risotto, though I could be wrong about that. After tossing the pasta with the fresh cheese, the food was quite cool. When I finally got the attention of the wait staff, it was explained to me that the dish was intended to be served at room temperature. First, mentioning that on the menu would be a good idea. Second, room temperature is not cool. After the explanation and taking the plate, I quickly received a freshly fired dish that was good, and after tossing in the cheese, the only room temperature bite was towards the end, as would be expected. My girlfriend's crab risotto was good, but it featured corn more than crab. Her comments where that in a crab risotto, the crab should be the star. Agreed. Dessert was the best plate, but was almost missed. I can't locate the dessert menu at this point and only remember that the name of the dish included "boobie cake" referencing the half done shape. I would describe it as a chocolate mousse with dark chocolate top and raspberry sauce. The menu item had no mention of these ingredients, and we were about to walk out and cross the alley for a bite of chocolate. If we hadn't asked about it and mentioned that we wanted chocolate we wouldn't have ordered it. In short for some pretty pricy menu items (lunch for two coming to just over $100 including a half carafe of house red) and hit and miss service, The Pink Door does not deliver. Ignore reviews about this being "great food" and resist the charm of the "secretive" entrance and the terrace view. Get some Beecher's mac'n'cheese or Pike Place chowder to-go and eat picnic style along the waterfront or in the park for the view. If it's Italian you need, sit at the pasta bar adjacent to Pike Place Chowder.

Amazing hidden gem. Our waiter Eric friendly and knowledgeable. Made great suggestions since this was our last meal in Seattle he suggested to start with the Caesar salad then the bruschetta and our meal was the savory Girelle pasta fresh burratta. For dessert we had the olive oil cake and pistachio gelato AMAZING meal. Hard to find but well worth it!!! Any local will guide you here. We will be. Back. Thanks

The Pink Door was one of the restaurants that I was very afraid was over yelped and over hyped. However, to my surprise this was one of the best meals that I had in Seattle. First of all we have some great italian food in San Diego and I feel like it is hard to beat but the Pink Door lived up to all my expectations. Bread: Thick crusty bread that was served warm and soft on the inside. I believe their olive oil has a hint of sweetness in it. We started off the antipasto of the house. $16.00 Comes with: prosciutto, tuscan bean salad, fresh mozzarella, tapanada, roasted vegetables, salami, and olives. Since we are both fatties we went to the large order which is supposed to feed 3-4 people but we were able to finish this no problem. The prosciutto and salami were delicious, but my boyfriend's favorite were the roasted veggies and the olive tapanada. I don't think I have ever had such great roasted veggies, maybe it's the olive oil they use. Entree: pappardelle al ragù bolognese $19.00. I'm super picky about my bolognese sauce. Sometimes it's not "meaty" tasting but The Pink Door uses a combination of beef and pork to give it that rich flavor. The pappardelle was cooked perfectly and topped off with freshly shaved parmesean. At first looks the dish looked small but I was pretty full after finishing it. 2nd Entree: Cioppino pink door - prawns, mussels, clams and calamari in a spicy tomato and white wine broth. $23.00. Decent amount of seafood that was cooked well. The broth was not overly seasoned or too salty. It definitely had a kick in it with the spiciness so if you can't handle your spice I probably wouldn't order this. Dessert: Boobie cake! I think this was $10?? Rich chocolate mousse like cake with a homemade caramel. OMG the caramel was so good I wanted to lick the plate. The mouse cake wasn't too dense and not overly sweet. They probably use a mixture of milk and dark chocolate. Service: It was super busy but our waiter did a pretty good job. We did have to wait a bit for our check but everything else was great. Come back again? For sure!

My boyfriend and I came here when we wanted to go out to a nice restaurant for date night. There was a wait so we hung out at the little bar and had a few drinks. We started off with the penn cove mussels and clams and had the pappardelle al rag bolognese as our entree. Both were delicious and highly recommended. The food was great but the service on the other hand was pretty bad. Our server was so rude and had an attitude. He didn't check on us as often as the other tables and would skip our table when we was checking on the tables around us. I may or may not come back. Maybe in the distant future.

Ah yes, The Pink Door. Pike Place is not just for tourists, ya know. Us locals also love gems like this. The restaurant is located at the north end of Post Alley, on the same block as Beecher's and Piroshky Piroshky. There's no sign, just a literal pink door (ha ha, hence the namesake). It might be easy to miss the first time you go! I've been here quite a few times over the past couple of years, and everything that I've had has been amazing. The Lasagna Pink Door is to die for (if you are reading this to figure out what to order, please order the lasagna. Just do it). The bruschetta is also a great starter--that balsamic though. If you go for dinner, be sure to 1) always make a reservation and 2) check out the performance schedule online. If you go for lunch and it's a nice day, you could sit outside and enjoy a view of the beautiful Puget Sound. Either way, you can't go wrong!!

A really fun place to visit. I'm not sure how people find this place sometimes. lol I expected a super bright pink door, but it's light pastel. Once you are inside it has a speak easy vibe. We were there for drinks and small bites. The drinks were VERY strong. Most of the people at our table didn't drink them. One in our party sent it back to be fixed and the waiter looked like we killed his first born. I guess that doesn't happen often. My drink was complex, but not in a good way. It had an egg white in it, which I know gives it froth, but that kind of grossed me out. I really enjoyed the live music and would give it another shot. Just wasn't very impressed with the drinks or the service.

The Pink Door is amazing! The décor was spectacular! The food was sensational! The entertainment (a contortionist/ribbon dancer) was wonderful. It was an all around amazing experience. I had the lasagna, it was perfect. My boyfriend had a seafood soup of sorts that was also perfect. We ordered a bottle of red wine, some oysters, and a garlic bread app. Everything was wonderful and it didn't cost nearly as much as I thought it might. I'll be going back for sure! **Make sure you make reservations**

Yummy bruschetta appetizer; entrees were pretty good, and the cabaret cake dessert was delicious! We had a good experience overall, only downside is the location; it's right by Pike place so getting around and parking can be a hassle especially with the weekend pike place crowds!

We wandered over on a busy Tuesday night, there was only one table open, we didn't have a reservation and we were happy to be seated outside on the patio (inside was packed as well). Great service from beginning to end, receipt indicates "Topher" was our server. Our group ordered: Bolognese $21 Bottle of Bardolino Rosato $32 Bruschetta $14 Butler Farm Vegetables $8 Caesar $10 Chicken Cacciatore $26 Cioppino $26 Olive Oil Cake $9.00 Out of the entrees, the best was the Bolognese. Probably wouldn't order the Chicken again. Cioppino was good, not amazing. The appetizers/salad/dessert/wine/atmosphere and exceptional service brought this to four stars. We had out of town guests so it was fun to take them there on such a beautiful night. We had walked over from Cafe Campagne's Bastille Day celebration so dinner at The Pink Door was a great way to end the evening.

Really good fresh fish, good service and fun atmosphere + a really excellent location. Menu was good, well priced for the location, and our server was quirky and fun. Toilets a bit out of the way into the market, a minor quibble. Recommended.

Hands down my favorite place in Seattle! I ended up looking up this place and made reservation almost one month in advance. I decided to eat here on the first day I arrive and since it was also our monthly anniversary it worked out perfectly. I made reservation at 8pm but we got there at 7pm and they seated us right away. We were sited right in front of the burlesque show and our candle were beautifully lit. I was really excited cause it was also Dine in Seattle week. I believe it was three course meal for $35 buck. SCORE. I totally forgot what I ordered for the appz but I ordered the lasagna pink door. It was fresh spinach pasta layered with beciamella, pesto, and topped with marinara sauce. It was amazing. I would said it was the best lasagna I had ever eaten and there was no meat. Ooo man, I would just fly there just to eat this. My hubby was really happy with his food too. He ordered a bone-in new York steak with carrots, brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes. He was in love with his steak and he even love the vegetables that he finish all of it. This is very rare. I believe this is the first time I seen my hubby take his time eating his steak. He savor on every piece of steak till the last bite. OOOO how I wish this place was much more closer cause I'm so craving their lasagna. YUM YUM YUM!

I have Eric to thank for reintroducing me to the Pink Door. It's such a gem! I came here once for Restaurant Week lunch with the girls a few years ago and I don't remember the meal being memorable. The unmarked pink door in the Post Alley carries an air of mystery. Step inside and you're in a cozy, dimly lit, high-ceilinged dining room that looks simultaneously upscale and yet welcoming. I came back last summer and maybe summer in Seattle makes everything look better (like beer goggles), because my experience this time around was so much better. There's an outdoor seating area with a great view of the water and of Pike Place market. It was a bit breezy after the sun went down, and they had cozy blankets readily available to hand out - how thoughtful is that! The food was really good. I'm no Italian food connoisseur but everything just tasted really fresh and delicious. I had the pappardelle bolognese. I tried a bite of the fish of the day (forgot what it was), but it looked so pristine sitting in the middle of the plate. The texture was perfect and it was light but flavorful. The pappardelle was a simple comfort food done incredibly well. I have yet to try the lasagna, which everyone seems to be raving about. Definitely a great spot for a date, for dinner with the girls or to take an out of town guest to after a stroll through Pike Place Market. I recommend making a reservation although if you're a small party, you can probably get a table just fine without one.

I loved this place my first time four years ago, and now I love it even more! Took three friends here over my Seattle Thanksgiving trip, and we booked a table for 8pm, not knowing when the shows began (or if they were even happening on Sunday nights). To our surprise and delight, just before we were served our main courses, one of the dancers took to the "stage", which was simply a long piece of cloth hanging from the ceiling. She performed what I could only describe as aerial ballet aerobics. What an amazing athlete and artist! Really neat that we got to experience that. The food is AMAZING here. Most of us got some form of pasta with fresh seafood, and one of us got meatballs and penne. All were sampled by me, and all were absolutely delicious. My spicy seafood spaghetti had fresh, al dente tender pasta, with a really nice tomato sauce. The Caesar salad was very good too with a large portion of romaine heart, Parmesan, and a few croutons, thankfully not drowning in dressing. The airy sourdough served beforehand paired with the lemon/herb infused olive oil was particularly good. I do love a good peppery green olive oil! The bar and staff at this place are on the ball. They know the menu, can make additions/exchanges/substitutions, and are very good at timing the courses. Love this place, will be back!

Awesome, over-the-top yet rustic French decor with French music playing in the background to accompany an amazing meal. My vegetarian lasagne was one of the best lasagnes I've ever had, and I'm not even a vegetarian. I tried everyone else's food (crab cakes, pasta dishes, charcuterie plate) and I definitely had the best dish of the table. The "boobie" cake is fun to order and decadently delicious. Gotta come back to check out the entertainment. Worth the hype.

Went here for dinner while vacationing in Seattle with my family. Quirky but charming decor and was surprised by the trapeze show. But the main event did not disappoint! Dinner was absolutely delicious. I had the squid ink seafood pasta special. It was so good! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful experience!!!! Our second time at The Pink Door and we promised we will return each time we are in Seattle. We came on a Friday when there wasn't the show, which was nice because the lounge was open. We were a bit early so we sat at the bar and had drinks. The bartender was really nice (can't remember his name) but he seemed like he really liked his job and we could tell he was happy to be there. We were seated in the lounge (which we requested as there was a live band). We ordered Half dozen order of the fresh north west oyster $15 Half order of Antipasto of the house (they split the veg/meat in two plates since I'm a vegetarian) the half order was surprisingly big, good for 2 people $10 My husband ordered what he got the first time we came here and again loved it, Cioppino Pink Door $23 I had a salad - but I think it may be different than the ones shown online, I believe it was a Bibb lettuce salad? It was good too! We had a great time there, the place is always packed and the servers and atmosphere is wonderful! Definitely will return for our next trip to Seattle!

Came here for lunch after walking around Pike Place. It's a bit hard to find. There's no sign, so walk through a pink door, go down the stairs into a dark restaurant that looks empty, keep going until you see the outdoor eating area and you'll be greeted by the staff. Food: Summer (Crab) risotto....SOOOOoo delicious. There was corn in my risotto and they were so fresh n so sweet! I would've liked a bit more crab meat but that's okay. It didn't look like it was a lot of food but it was filling. Clam linguini...delish but a tad salty (too much pancetta?). The presentation was beautiful. Loaded with baby clams. Vegetarian pizza for my vegetarian mom. They were very accomodating because my mom is a vegetarian who doesn't eat garlic/onion and garlic is pretty much in very italian dish. haha. The pizza was huge and was definitely enough to feed 2 people. Cioppino...my dad loved this. He usually doesn't eat italian food but he really really enjoyed his meal. My kid drank the soup too. I highly recommend this place and hopefully we'll come back to Seattle again.

My family stumbled across this place after wandering the area shortly after moving to Seattle. That really is the only way to find the place- you stumble across it. We saw their outdoor patio and wanted to eat outside. We then spent several minutes trying to figure out where the entrance was. (We didn't even know the name of the restaurant until we had sat down and found the name on the menu. Honestly never noticed the physical pink door.) We felt like inside the restaurant we might have been underdressed, but everyone else was much more casual on the patio, probably also because it was lunch time. Ask for Eiric if you can. He gave great recommendations, was quick and prompt, and answered the questions about what all was in our tasty appetizer. I had the panini special with corn chowder. It was delicious, but a common theme at the table was that portions were too big for just one person. Two people split the smallest pizza and still had some leftover. Only one person finished their full meal. We'd definitely go back if we can find it.

Visiting Seattle on a business trip, the guy at my hotel recommended the place. It was a little bit hard to find (with the restaurant not having any sign on the door!) but once I got there I did not regret the time it took to find it! The place looks very chic! I ordered the lasagna and a glass of wine. The food came after a very short time, and the taste was divine!! The highlight of my evening was when the very nice waitress came over to my table and said that the owner has sent me a dessert, on the house. The reason is that she liked it when people came alone to her restaurant, as solo travelers. I was touched, I have to admit. Great place, wonderful atmosphere. Recommended!

While visiting Seattle, on the recommendation of friends, we had a wonderful lunch of homemade pasta at The Pink Door. Fun vibe, beautiful outdoor space overlooking the Sound and sea vessels. The hubs had corn and Dungeness crab risotto and he raved about it. I had the house speciality lasagna, uncharacteristically light and scrumptious. I ate it ALL and left without feeling stuffed. The dessert menu wasn't as delicious as I would have liked but that's because I tend to the tangy and fruity and their desserts were more of the chocolate variety. I didn't give five stars because our server wasn't terrific (she was brand new) and submitted a wrong item to the chef. The hostess, bus folks and other servers were hustling to back her up and the issue was quickly remedied. I believe it's better known for dinner but I wouldn't miss an opportunity to take in their deck with hanging floral baskets, a glass of Prosecco (made with a freshly muddled white peach) and a sunny, outdoor lunch. What are you waiting for? Go visit Seattle and The Pink Door!

We didn't have reservation. But we went early like 4:30. It was good time without reservation. I ordered appetizer for prosciutto n squid ink pasta with seafood n my husband got lasagna. Dessert is pannacota with berries jam. We really enjoyed with foods.

Pink Door is nice. We got lost looking for it. It's not at the best visible location, but we found it. Food was good. Staffs were nice. I'm giving Pink Door a 4-star because the food was good, not great, but good. Would I go back? Maybe. Still a good experience here.

I really love the food here. The pasta & clams was the best. I also really enjoy the trapeze show ! There was no waiting to be seated luckily since there was an empty table when we arrive。

The Pink Door is interesting. The vibe is interesting; it's a little on the noisier side, the lights are dimly lit, there's trippy music always playing, and it has a bar that feels awkwardly misplaced and seems like it doesn't belong. I hate to use this word but the restaurant definitely has a hipster feel to it. The trapeze is also interesting; it adds to the already eery but unique atmosphere. When the trapeze artist begins her routine, the room goes from a constant, loud buzz to almost dead silence. Yeah it's.. interesting. But the food. The food is not interesting. It's ordinary. It's pretty good, but probably not worth the price. Both times I've been there, I feel like I'm overpaying for the quality I'm getting in return. I had the spaghetti with meatballs, and I don't know, it was just a let down. It's worth a try I guess, but frankly, I don't understand the hype.

I'm starting to realize that maybe I'm just not a fan of Italian restaurants. Don't get me wrong, I like Italian food. However even in the best restaurants, the food is never "amazing" to me. On that note, this place was pretty good as far as Italian restaurants go. Their atmosphere is great, and the cabaret show was pretty awesome to watch as we ate. The waiters were extremely nice. I had the crab risotto. I don't recommend it, the risotto was too rich for me and I couldn't really taste the crab flavor. Our table got the bruschetta which was pretty good. Ingredients tasted extremely fresh and even though it was simple, it was well done. Their cocktails were excellent. Price was a little high, but it was pretty much expected for this atmosphere. For me I probably wouldn't return again, but if you like fine Italian food definitely worth your visit.

Some great food and great views at a nice Italian restaurant in downtown Seattle. Most restaurants in the Post Alley/Pike Place area are mediocre at best. They don't need to be the best because they have location and have a tourist base that will support them. The Pink Door is expensive for what you get but that's to be expected in that area. Check out the menu pricing and pictures of the food in advance to make sure you're comfortable paying for what you'll get. There's no real reason to be surprised when the plates or bill come :) Food is good, location is great (especially if weather is good and you sit outside), but the food is pricey for what you get.

A beautiful restaurant in Seattle. Near the Public market. Great food, excellent service. They even have a trapeze show inside the restaurant. Most of all the interior decoration is a lot to looked and photographed. Without a doubt between many many restaurants in Seattle, this place would remain many peoples favorite.

I was pretty excited to try Pink Door. My wife and I were at Pike just to go for a walk and enjoy the sun. We stopped by Pink Door towards the end of our trip. My wife ordered the Clam Linguine, and I had the Pappardelle Al Ragu Bolognese. Her dish was pretty good, but it was definitely on the salty side. My dish... hmm. My dish was "OK". I read lots of reviews about how great this dish was, and I was actually pretty disappointed. It was a thick and creamy meat sauce with homemade noodles. It tasted like something you could get from a frozen box at the grocery store. I really liked the decor of the restaurant and the service was great. I'll have to give them another shot and try something else.

The food here is soo delicious and has a very romantic setting. I would give them 5 stars but are only complaint was that are table was crammed in between two other tables that I almost felt like we were eating with the other couples. I would have liked it to be more intimate since my husband and I were there for a romantic night out. Pretty expensive but you defiantly get what you pay for... So my only advice is make reservations WAY in advance and request a good table. Bon appetite !!

Wow the most delicious lunch so far! Ordered the grilled vegetable panini, my husband ordered the meatball sandwich, and there is also a picture of the seared tuna, all were filling and tasty! Patio is really nice with a view, worth the wait.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
