Great staff and service. If you're under 21, they will do take out for you. They are very quick and accommodating. My fave at the moment is the mushroom pizza. I don't even know how to describe how fucking delicious this pizza is - it's so good that I, a female weighing 110 pounds can eat the entire pizza in one sitting. Must try!

We tried the Masonry for the first time as part of a self Imposed, "date week" my husband and I and we themed it "pizza week" - trying 5 new pizza places each day of the week. This was easily the worst of the 5 we tried. Now first of all the service, the ambiance and the music was awesome. That was its only redeeming quality. Our appetizer was the beer marinated clams and it was bland and tasted like they just poured beer in it and didn't cook it out. Our pizzas were burnt to a crisp on the bottom. I literally had charcoal in my teeth for an hour after we left. It was disgusting. The two stars are simply for the good music and service.

This used to be our go to spot, we're talking like once a week--until they got too busy. I've never had a bad meal here and love the rotating menu of sides. My boyfriend LOVES the beer options and the fact that they too rotate. I love sour beer and they always have one on tap. The pizzas are definitely not traditional. I personally love the thin crust, it's tasty but not for everyone. One easily serves two people. Definitely try out the meatballs when you're there! It's one of their staples. The only downside is that we can't walk out of there without dropping at least $100 for two of us.

Good thing we had our thinking caps on to come by here for dinner. It's a small restaurant, with a few tables, a large community table, some outside seating and a comfy bar area. Cool relaxed vibe inside. We sat at the bar, the bartender was super friendly & nice. We decided to start off with a Caeser salad which was nice, enjoyed the shaved slices of parmesan on top, perfect size to share. Also, we got an order of the meatballs: you get 4 good sized meatballs in a tasty marinara sauce. Meatball was super moist, soft, flavorful, the sauce was delicious and perfect for dipping your pizza crust in it. Lastly, we also got the mushroom pizza: delicious mushrooms, nice cracker like crust, well cooked, nice melty cheese right out of the pizza oven, its nice you can see them prepare each pizza to order. Great selection of beers, we sampled a few cool looking ones and ended up getting a blueberry beer. what?!!? Whatever, it was tasty! We totally killed our meal and enjoyed every gluttonous moment! They have a nice simple menu, nicely prepared food, open kitchen, and especially tasty food! Great neighborhood spot!

I really, really wanted to like this place because it had good reviews and it's a cute spot. We ordered the truffle mushroom pizza, and it was baaaad. I mean, really bad. So bad that even though we were starving we didn't eat much of it. We gave the leftovers to a homeless man outside and even he wouldn't eat it...seriously! I don't know if it was just a fluke or what, or if we ordered like the worst pizza they have...but it was like alllll garlic....huge chunks of garlic. More garlic than mushrooms. Also, the cheese was burnt. So all you could taste was burnt pizza and garlic. It was pretty much the worst pizza I've ever had. Still 2 stars because the place was so cute..

We had a great night here when up visiting our son at UW. The staff is outstanding -- helpful and friendly, and love the decor - including the pizza oven seemingly in the middle of the restaurant! Amazing beer selection -- approximately the length of "War And Peace" and super interesting. And just cannot say enough about the pizza -- we tried the Margherita, and the sausage and were blown away! THIS is great pizza! We will definitely be back!

LOVE this place! This place should not be missed if you're in lower Queen Anne. - The BEST service I've received from restaurant staff or bar in YEARS and I dine out a lot. - Fantastic vibe...very cool without any of that Seattle freeze nonsense - Great music - More importantly, they make excellent wood-fired pizza and tender meatballs with a sauce I wanted to drink by the laddle. Tips: - Give yourself plenty of time to get a seat...I don't think they accept reservations...but they do have a variety of seating options, bar, booths, communal tables. - Dip that leftover pizza crust in the meatball sauce...I'm salivating just writing about it - Definitely come here before or after a game/show at the Key

Great spot for a beer! Or if you're looking for a small and quick bite to eat. The food menu had about 7 items on their to choose from total. But the beer list must of had over 100 different crafts to choose from. Not sure if the food menu was smaller because of it being happy hour, but it was very limited. The best thing we had was by far the meatballs. We also ordered the focaccia bread and the mushroom pizza. It is a pizza spot but the pizza was just okay. Definitely would not go back if I was in the mood for a reallyyyy good pizza. The plus was everything tasted fresh and tasted like it was made from scratch.

There is almost nothing bad I can say about this place. They have a phenomonal beer selection that is always changing and always unique. They make excellent Neapolitan style pizza that is always tasty, fresh and delicious. They have friendly staff who know when to chat and when not to, they play great music and have TVs that are not obtrusive at all. Oh, and outdoor seating! In a desert of good restaurants such as the Uptown neighborhood (aka Lower Queen Anne), this place is a gem and a jewel. Heck, it's both and more anywhere if you ask me. Oh, and the meatballs..... So so so so good. The only knock I have against it is the avocado and mango salad tends to have too much habanero on it. It's a great concept and could be perfect if they cut back on the spice just a bit to balance the whole thing out. Otherwise, this place is amazing.

Good pizza, great mussels, and an interesting and rotating beer selection. A small place so be prepared to wait on a weekend, but definitely worth it. Awesome neighborhood hangout.

Randomly stopped in here for linner after seeing the Star Wars costume exhibit at the EMP. Was impressed at the beer menu and what they had to offer and felt completely clueless as to what was on it. Even my friend who prides herself a beer connoisseur was like I don't know what half of this stuff is. That was the hook that we had to come back. I enjoyed a light Belgian beer (that is not currently on their on-line menu so I can't tell you what it is unfortunately), a delicious caesar salad, and a couple of yummy meatballs in a marinara sauce. The hubby and our newlywed friends all had pizza. Unfortunately, for the hub, they did not have any non-dairy cheese so he had a cheeseless pizza. I'd like to come back and try it myself though cuz it's the super thin kind like they have at Tuttabella. The place is small but seems like a cool place to just chill and have a beer. There's communal seating smack in the middle of the restaurant so if you're feeling social you may strike up some nice conversation with strangers. But this is Seattle so it's unlikely. Parking would seem like the only bitch about coming here but there are lots all around since it's hear the EMP and Space Needle. Definitely recommend this place for craft beer experimenting noobs like myself.

This was a cool, hip little restaurant with a great atmosphere. Loved the ambiance and the decor here. I like it when places have wood ovens too, so that was a plus for me. The service was good, thought it was kind of odd that they didn't have a set server for each table though. Wasn't a problem, just something I noticed! I got a glass of white wine, do not remember what kind, but it was good, and I usually prefer red wine. I am a complete pizza addict, but I am also a sweet potato addict, so I had to try the Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Asparagus. It was absolutely delicious. Downside, it was a small plate. I wanted more. Another downside: it was expensive. My boyfriend got a pizza and he said the crust was very good, but he was not so impressed with the toppings. This made me glad I went for the gnocchi!

I can't believe people leave this place a one star review because it doesn't serve minors. Hello, did you not see the very obvious signs right at the door? I've been here enough to watch people with kids get completely bent out of shape over the law. Complain to your Washington State legislator if you want the law changed. Since Masonry has tap beer, there is a minimum distance and a physical barrier/rail that must separate the bar from main dining area. It's the law. That would remove space for seats. The staff are happy to do to-go orders and you can wait outside and then walk down to Counterbalance Park to eat. Or go to Zeek's. I hear they have a ball pit now. Great service, great food, excellent beer choices, knowledgable staff. Clams in beer (or mussels, depending on the season) are delicious. If you're gluten-free they have salads and can do the clams/mussels in wine instead..

Really nice chill spot to grab a drink, particularly when its nice out. Note that this place is very small, I would estimate it would hold 40 people max, so don't plan on meeting a large group here particularly if its nice (they also don't take reservations). My favorite part about masonry is the beer and cool glasses they serve it in. The pizza is good, but isn't really my style (I like my cheese in a sheet) but still think this is a solid spot.

  • Mike L.

Was in town on business and a local buddy said to meet there because of their beer selection. We got a hankering for some eats and noticed the wood fired pizza... All I have to say is WOW. I'm not kidding, that was the best pizza I have ever had. We had the mushroom and margarita selections... A must attend everything I'm in Seattle!

Wowwwwwww-ah! This pizza was PHENOMINAL! We tried to order over the phone but nobody answered so we showed up according to the hours posted on Yelp, Monday night and we walked in around 9:40 I think they open until 12 a.m. We ordered 2 items and a drink Root beer(whatever they had on 5/18/15 was delicious) Second was the spicy meatballs. Really, really good with some awesome sauce! Tender and delicious. Lastly was the sausage pizza, so tasty and the pizza dough alone was really, really good. Cool spot fer sure with their record vinyls that they have on hand and also t.v's to watch while scarfing down some delicious pie Happy tummy here for sure.

I dig this place. The beer selection is great! Staff is friendly, food is slightly overpriced considering the size of pizza's, but I'm used to that. They're super small, but pretty good (that coming from a NY-er, it might be blasphemy). It's fun to watch them cook your pizza while you wait.

  • Roxy G.

My bus drops me off across the street every day, and I find it difficult to stay away. I love this space, it just feels really comfortable. I love that they play records in there, and when they're not super busy, it's nice to hang out and talk to everyone working there. Some names are escaping me, but Daisy is a really rad lady. :) I really enjoy the large list of rotating taps. I love my beers, my good beers, and the Masonry has plenty to choose from daily. I also like their glasses which I think you can purchase from them? Neat! The wood fired oven keeps it nice and cozy in there, and also cooks a mean pizza! I love the super thin crispy crust. They change up the toppings on their pizzas, and they have just a few to choose from. Next, my absolute favorite item that I have to order isn't pizza, it's their meatballs. You get five or so big tasty (and slightly spicy in the best way) meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. I love these meatballs so much! There's also some wonderful salads, soups, and a few tasty baked dishes. I enjoy the simplicity of the menu, and can't wait to try more items from it if I can skip the meatballs one day! :)

I found this spot to hang out at before the Justin Timberlake concert at KeyArena, and it was perfect! It's only a five minute walk to the arena. The restaurant is pretty small, but it's cozy and the atmosphere is loud, fun and social. I love pizza and the pizza here was good, but not the best I've had. We ordered the margherita and the mushroom/pancetta. I love the thin crust pizza, but I wasn't fan of the burnt parts. My favorite parts of dinner were actually the flavorful and rich sweet potato gnocchi and the French onion soup. Probably not the healthiest of options on the menu, but arguably the tastiest. I really enjoy the texture of gnocchi and the ones they had were really tasty and had the right amount of salt and cheese tossed over it. The French onion soup was good, not too salty, and had just the right amount of gruyere cheese as well. Service was spot on, really helpful and quick. I also enjoyed watching them make the pizzas right in front of me.

I work in Lower Queen Anne, I come to this place often. The Staff is always courteous and speedy. The menu is limited, but honestly you are coming here for the Pizza and great selection of Local Beer, what more do you need. The Pizza, is always great, never soggy, they always seem to use the freshest ingredients, which I am sure is helped by a limited menu. If you find yourself coming up to QA and were thinking about doing something different than Pesos. You need to try this place. You will be back, and craving it. My only wish is the beers were not rotational, because sometimes they get amazing beers, and when you go back POOF it's gone.

  • Jerry J.

The pizza is top notch; maybe the best I've tasted. The beer selection is better than some, not as good as others. The music that they played kind'a sucked but I give them points because it was on vinyl records.

THIS PLACE DOES NOT SERVE MINORS We walked in with 2 teens and were turned away, even though it had lots of available seats. Yelp doesn't mention this so you should be aware.

I checked this place out when they first opened and wasn't impressed, but decided to give it another try tonight with friends. We ordered 2 pizzas and a few apps. The fried squash blossoms app sounded good and it's the season for them, so we started with those. Not a great choice it turns out. They were much too heavily breaded for how delicate they are, were filled with heavier, stringy cheese, and were actually a but spicy. We didn't finish them all they were so bad. Our other app, the pickled vegetables, never came out because the server forgot about it. Next out were our pizzas. One was a margherita and the other was prosciutto and arugula. I get they are wood fired pizzas, "kissed" by the flame, but do they have to be so burned? The crusts had an overwhelming charred flavor to them. I've had wood fired pizza at other places in Seattle and never have I noticed the charred flavor being so prevalent. I had to scrape off charred bits just so it wouldn't overwhelm the flavors of the pizza. Not great. I gave this place am extra star for the fact service was quick, and they have a great beer list. Ambiance is friendly and inviting and the chairs at the large communal table are comfortable. I'd maybe go back for a beer, but I won't be going back for food anytime soon.

Great: Beer list (Prarie, Jolly Pumpkin, Mikkeller, etc.) Beertenders. Music playing. Thin crust, blistery wood-fired pizza. House made meatballs in awesome tomato sauce. Focaccia bread to dip in the leftover tomato sauce. Caesar salad. Happy hour prices. Cons: Parking It's LQA. That's it. If you are serious about your pizza and your beer, there is no better place in Seattle to get some of the best of both at one time.

    (5)
  • Bradley B.

A nice find, wood fired oven, small eclectic menu "Enjoyed the thin crust sausage pizza and a large tasty Caesar salad." Large beer list filled with high octane offerings, punk rock music, really great staff. Love the mason jars for water, communal seating and the fact this the one place that you can't get coffee.

  • Andrew H.

This place is almost amazing. The only problem, and it is a significant one, is that they burn their pizzas too much (or at least they did tonight). I get that Napoli pizza is supposed to have char, but the entire bottom of several slices we had were completely black. It may be that the crust is a little too thin, so the high heat ends up seeping through too fast. The mozzarella are also a little thick, so it ends up having a burnt crust and somewhat undercooked cheese. Their ingredients are invariably excellent. The meatballs were juicy and the sauce was thick and well-seasoned, tasted like it was made with Italian tomatoes. The caesar is great. The apricot crush beer is awesome. If the execution on the pizza was a little better (and maybe this was an off-night), this would definitely be one of the best in Seattle, kind of a mix between Via Tribunali and Delancey.

  • E E.

Pretty descent pizza. Really good for being wood fired piazza. Great beer selection. Try the Struise Three. It's like a fine wine with a sweet taste and 10% ABV. Adding word count because yelp thinks it's a good idea to be a wind bag.

Such awesome pizza! Best takeout pizza I've found in the area, perhaps all of Seattle.

  • Arleen C.

Cool neighborhood hangout. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely come frequently for the pizza alone! There's a huge selection of beers for you beer drinkers out there. - The sausage pizza with pickled peppers was delicious! I'd get this again and again...and again. - The zucchini pizza was pretty tasty - The deep fried squash blossoms stuffed with cheese was so amazing. I could eat them as appetizers any day. Why haven't other places thought of this? - The house pickled veggies were great but then again I love pickled things...so what's not to love? All in all, everything was reasonably priced and the beer selection was much appreciated. The pizzas were also not tiny. Each pizza was enough for one person which says a lot because some places leave you hungry and wanting more food for what you paid. Also, props to the server. She was so friendly and welcoming and made the already great vibe even better!

  • Seattle E.

Very chill pizza spot with a decent selection of beers and good vinyl spinning. Although the beers are a little pricier, the pizzas and salads are reasonably priced. Great open window seating for Seattle's sunnier days. Follow #eatsofsea on Instagram for more!

I highly recommend their house-made sausage with fontina cheese pizza. I normally like to order extra cheese on authentic type pizzas, but I found this pizza tastier with the normal amount of cheese versus the time I had it with extra cheese. I guest the chef knows best!

Too expensive for what it is and it takes too long to get food. Think my wait time for my to go order was pushing 20 minutes.

I love this place! Very chill with a wide variety of beers and very tasty pizza choices. The meatballs are delicious (I recommend getting a piece of focaccia bread and making a sandwich) and the margherita pizza is always a safe bet. Some of their seasonal side dishes have been just okay but the staples are excellent. Plus, when it's nice out you can sit at the window! The service is medium-slow when they're busy but not so much as to be annoying, assuming you're with someone and having a conversation. (As a side note, I think it's really funny so many people give this place a 1-star rating just for not serving minors. It's a bar! It seems like that's more your fault for bringing a kid than theirs for, like... being a bar.)

  • Eileen D.

I was really disappointed in the food here :( We ordered the sausage pizza. The cheese was so thick and strong (I believe it was fontina?) that we ended up picking it off. The crust was also pretty burnt. For similar pizza, I would definitely go to Delancey or Via Tribunali instead. I also wanted a diet coke, and they only offered artisan sodas, which is kind of annoying.

We stopped in tonight after passing by this many times in the month it's been open. At 7pm it was packed and smelling absolutely delicious. Hubby and I found a spot at the bar and quickly had a hard time choosing at the variety of microbrews on tap. It was great to find a great selection of rotating microbrew handles in the PNW, and not just the mainstay local Seattle ones (not that I have anything against it but how many times can I have Manny's or Hales right?). We tried the mushroom w/pancetta wood fired pizza which was great. The menu selection is small, but it focuses on making good simple pizza. We shared a couple more beers, jammed to James Brown and Run DMC, and stumbled on home. I really like how non-pretentious this place is for lower QA, great beers, great staff, and just good simple food. Thanks for opening up and we definitely will be in on regular basis!

Can I just say that I can't stop thinking about the Watermelon Salad I had on Monday night. It had just the right amount of salt, just the right amount of sweet. It was delicious, hearty, and refreshing. Sure, the pizza was also amazing, but the chef was the star of the show. She held so much confidence it was very inspiring. So why the 4 star review? The service was a little slow and slightly un-attentive. Don't get me wrong, it was not terrible. I am not unhappy. There were just little things I noticed...my husband's beer glass sat empty while our server walked by the table several times...we weren't given the check really all that promptly...our plates weren't cleared efficiently. It was busy, but there was just a slight sense of inefficiency. I am very confident though, that this little kink will get worked out as the restaurant matures. For now, great start, and definitely worth checking out.

What kind of restaurant has to basically close down to prepare for supper? Came here for a pizza as the reviews state are great, only to be told that they only serve crappy snacks (pic below) in order to prepare for supper. We had the meat pie and it really sucked. Very disappointed in this place. Hopefully supper is better, but i guess we will never find out as there are so many other places in Seattle to check out before darkening this door again.

If this is the standard, I may need to up my wood-fired pizza game. This place has a solid beer list on tap and they execute the wood-fired pizza well. Try the sausage, it is simple, basic as it should be.

Great new addition to lower Queen Anne. Unique brew selection and fantastic service. I tried the meatballs and the Sausage pizza. Pizza was extraordinary and prepared perfectly. The meatballs were pretty darn good, although I didn't get the 'spicy' as noted on the menu, but still worth trying. Very happy this place opened up. Will be visiting again soon.

This place is still fairly new (I think 6 months?) but already surpasses any of the previous tenants here (Quizno's anyone?). What a perfect addition to the LQA neighborhood. We are OBSESSED with this pizza. I'm bummed some people didn't find it exceptional, but I guess not everyone enjoys good tasting pizza with high-quality ingredients. I mean, this place is busy EVERY night and everyone I've taken here loves the pizza! (but you'll never wait very long unless you have a huge group of people - or it's 8pm on a Friday...) We can usually squeeze 2-3 people at the bar somewhere, or in the family style seating in the center of the restaurant. The pizza crust is literally the most amazing dough I have ever eaten. I could probably eat here every day of the week and be happy. It's wood-fired so you may get a few crusty/burnt pieces, but it never takes away from how yummy this pizza is. You can't go wrong with any of their classics - Margarita or Sausage (make sure you add the peppers!) - or whatever they have on the menu for that week/day. The meatballs are also delish (a little spicy too!). They have an amazing rotating beer selection (& like a hundred other kinds in bottles) that you cannot go wrong with. It's like Browers for beer with delicious pizza. What's not to love? Go give it a try - and then go back again. Keep in mind this place is 21+ and is on the smaller side, but I think if you are a pizza + beer lover you'll enjoy this cool & hip addition to LQA!

Small menu full of outstanding seasonal items. The char on the pizza is delicious. One pizza and a side is a light meal for two people. Snack menu only (no pizza) between 2-5. Despite the excellent, food, The Masonry looses two stars from me: One star for the temperature of the restaurant--the place is just too small for such a hot oven. The second star is because the beer is just too damn expensive. I understand craft beer is special and delicious. But over $6 for a 8oz pour borders on insane. I'm also disappointed in the lack of local brews on tap, or even by the can/bottle, especially given the quality and variety available in town--hell, even in the region--for a reasonable price.

I hellza love this place so much. - Turntables in the corner with someone often djing good hip hop, indie, downtempo, and various other quality jamz - Delicious salads. I frequently don't like salad. Tasty homemade dressings and nuts and fruit and fresh ingredients. - Consistently tasty wood-fired pizza. - Rotating local ciders, beer, and wine - with interesting options that aren't at every "we serve rotating brews" place in the city - Friendly, prompt service. - Very reasonable prices for fresh, foodie-style ingredients I've been here multiiple times prior to writing this review. On a few of those occasions, I entered in a pretty bad mood after a rough day and emerged feeling relaxed and happy. This place is one of my favorite things about my recent move to LQA.

Great spot and great pizza! I love the chewy, delicious crust they make and the coppa and toppings on the pizza are delicious! My fiancé is in love with the meatballs and I just had their wood fired root vegetables with yogurt sauce that was amazing - spicy, a little sweet from the fire caramelizing the veggies - delicious. The only issue I have is that the pizza oven is too hot and scorches the pizza. All of the pizzas coming out of the fire were black on top where the fire burns the crust but the bottom of the pizza is barely cooked. Turn down the oven or don't make the fire so hot and the pizzas here would be perfect.

Simply delicious food and the best selection of craft beer in Lower Queen Anne. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Every time I go there I have an amazing time and the staff is friendly and wonderful. If they don't have the wood fired oven up and running, they still have a wonderful selection of appetizers, meatballs, salads and clams. The food here is very gourmet, and I haven't had a bad item. But, if you're feeling really cheap, you can get the house-made focaccia for $1 (and get the marinara dipping sauce). My only criticism is that my wallet is quite a lot lighter after I leave, and they don't have any drink specials or happy hour. Secondly, it is a very small location, and seating is limited. For that reason, I recommend going there on weeknights for dinner or to watch soccer games. Aside from that, this is one of my favorite neighborhood hang-outs, and though a large portion of my paycheck goes to them monthly, I really can't say I regret it (too much.)

Outstanding pizza, customer service, and craft beers! The owner is a Pacific Northwest native who knows his food and REALLY knows his beer! I highly recommend The Masonry to anyone looking for a quality pizza joint! Insider tip: Make sure you order something that has the garlic olive oil on it. Also, the place isn't huge, so it may not be the best for a large party, but don't let that dissuade you from going there.

My wife and I held our rehearsal dinner here on Sept. 18. Matt (the owner) was incredible and accommodating. All our family and friends kept asking us how we found this place and how amazing the food was. They kept saying ours was the best rehearsal dinner they've been too and the credit really goes to the staff that night who worked and Matt (who was also present). The beer menu and food menu is incredible. Strongly recommend this to any and everybody. The pizza was what drew us to this place, then they upped the ante with their salad and meatballs.

Best meatballs I've ever had. Best beer I've ever had (and everyone behind the bar has a PhD in beer). Try the salami & spinach pizza - the salami was handcrafted by heavenly angels. And now featuring hooks under the bar to hang up my purse! Thanks, Masonry!

The menu was so minimalist that I wasn't expecting much, but the Masonry was Perfection! The caesar salad was delicious (no anchovies, hooray!), the oven roasted cauliflower was to die for, and the pizza was incredible. I can hardly wait to visit Seattle again so I can go back for more.

Amazing beer selection. The bartender was so incredible. He was a wealth of information. You could really tell he knew his stuff. We didn't eat but it smelled amazing. They played Seinfeld during the off hour we were there and it got the few people at the bar talking. Such a great neighborhood place.

I love Pizza, I love Beer. The Masonry has excellent varieties of both. Seriously, props to whoever decides what beer to serve here. The selection is always varied and universally fantastic. The pizza is also excellent. Think hand tossed, very thin, wood fired awesomeness. They have some WEIRD pizza's on the menu, which is always changing. I think one had duck egg on it? All of them have been good though. The standout was a margherita pizza I ordered for lunch one day. HOLY HELL, I have never had such a good pizza in my entire life. If there is a downside, which there isn't, it is: It's Tiny: Unfortunately, I'm not the only person in Seattle who loves this place, so it can take a while to get a seat. Don't come here with a big group. It's 21+: Most of the time that's probably a good thing, but for some it might be a problem.

Best pizza in Seatte, hands down. Always an awesome selection of beers and ciders. The servers are so down to earth and friendly, but the best people in the shop are the cooks. The girl who makes the pizza always initiates a great conversation, and makes me want to come back again and again. Great place to eat AND drink.

I love putting balls in my mouth at the Masonry. Meatballs, that is. They are a little spicy and delicious and I could eat 50 of them. The pizza is solid if not earthshattering (definitely add the pancetta to the mushroom pizza, totally worth it). I've almost always enjoyed the seasonal salad specials. And as many have mentioned, the beer selection is excellent. This strip of LQA just NEEDED a restaurant like the Masonry after years of suffering through Quiznos/crapola restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area and in the mood for great beer and good wood-fired pizza.

Absolutely delicious authentic woodfired pizza. Generous portions. Great service & vast selection of beers.

Walked in for lunch and got yelled across the bar that you have to be 21 or over (we are, but had a baby with us). Everyone in the "bar" stopped what they were doing and stared at us. It was embarrassing and very poorly handled by the staff. NOTE: this place is a BAR, not a restaurant. Not friendly.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced pizza and a fantastic pint this is your place! During our visit we enjoyed the meatballs, vegetarian caesar salad, two pizzas, and the bread pudding. EVERYTHING we had was outstanding. We are definitely coming back after receiving such great service at a wonderful value. The owner personally served us and the chef was charming as well. The only down side to this place is that it's not closer to us! If you want pizza and/or beer this is your place in lower queen Anne. Peter R, you appear to have been misinformed. This is NOT an Italian restaurant, it IS a beer and wood fired pizza joint.

The pizza and beer are great, but the roasted asparagus with the fried egg on top was absolutely fantastic. We love the sausage pizza too.

First. Other restaurateurs take notice. Lower Queen Anne is DYING for good food and drinks. We LQAer's plan to reward Masonry handsomely for having the brains to figure it out. Second. Yum! The meatballs were amazing. We scooped the sauce out and started dipping the pizza in it. I would order that sauce as a side. Charge away guys, I'll pay for it! Pizza is good too. My husband loved it. I could have a little less char on my crust, but it is wood fired. The ingredients and flavors however are amazing. We had the special and the margarita. Third. Service was great. Maybe almost a little too friendly, but we'll forgive them. They just opened and are super excited to have us in. We are super excited to have you here! Thank you for choosing our neighborhood to be your home!

I came here twice over three days, as I am a fan of the food. It's thoughtful, well-done, and nothing disappointed. I tried all of the pizzas, and the standouts were the mushroom, sausage and BLT. The BLT is brilliant! Yum. The ceasar salad was incredibly tasty and delicious. The bad taste in my mouth came from the service. During my second visit, a sweet waitress completely lost interest in our table, let our pizza sit on the pass for more than five minutes (I had to gently remind her much to her embarrassment) and I witnessed her and bartender chugging beers, ever so discreetly taking their drinks to the back where nobody could witness them. That was incredibly annoying. Otherwise, yeah, the food rocks, so I'll probably be back. But please, do something about the standards of your service. Terrible.

Two dozen great beers on tap, three crates of vinyl records queued up, straight forward wood fired pizza.

    (4)
  • Jeff L.

Service is always excellent. The pizza is some of the best in the city. The tap list is clearly curated by somebody who legitimately cares about beers. But, more important than all of that: the meatballs might be my favorite dish that I can order, period, anywhere.

Hands down. Best wood fired Neopolitan pizza in Seattle! Best beer selection I've seen in a pizza place, tons of craft beer and staff that will help you pair the best beer to your taste buds and the pizza selection. They also have an extensive listing of fine bottled beers. The pizzas I sampled (mushroom, sausage and margherita) were excellently composed, each with cheeses to support and harmonize with the other carefully selected ingredients. It is obvious much love and care has gone into these recipes. All were phenomenal, but I think the margherita was the star of the show, the tomato sauce was balanced, but complex and carried the mozzarella and was highlighted with the bright notes of fresh basil. My only regret was leaving, physically unable to eat any more. This spot will definitely be added to the list of must-visits whenever I am in town. PS. Say hi to Lucas, he's awesome.

If you are looking for fantastic wood fired pizza or a great beer list, this is your spot! The pizza has an excellent chewy crust that provides a great canvas for the toppings. It has a slight garlic flavor that forces you to finish the bones. I dare you not to eat all of it. The sauce is perfectly balanced and allows the natural acidity and sweetness of the tomatoes to shine. I recommend the pizza with marinated mushrooms, add the pancetta. Additionally, the Caesar is vegetarian and still completely delicious. The beer list will continue to evolve but the owner assured me they will always have cider for gluten free diets, Rainier for light wallets, and some local options for those who are local centric. This is a great addition to Queen Anne and the seattle beer scene. Enjoy!

Finally! A pizza place that is as close to Napoli as you will find in Seattle. I debated on keeping this my secret but can't do that to the crew at The Masonry. Great space with large "throw open" garage door for nice days, records spinning, wine on tap, and awesome food.

Stopped in for lunch. Had a stout, salad, and pizza. Amazing pizza. Slightly burnt on the bottom but so well cooked I got over it. Very fresh from the oven. This was my second visit. Once in January and I had to make it back. These guys know what they are doing around an oven and a bar.

Ordered one of the seasonal pizzas. It was pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but definitely tasty. If you want pizza in queen Anne this is probably a great spot to check out. I don't drink but it looks like they have a wide variety of beers also. Service was great, wasn't too noisy, and it didn't take long to get a seat on a Saturday night.

I'm just excited to have a place to get some great Craft Beers in Queen Anne. If you think about it your options are fairly limited and you're forced into some bad beer options if you're in the lower QA area. Pizza is great! Excellent dough and crust with just the right amount of softness when you bite into it. Very creative and seasonal toppings. Not usually a sausage fan, but theirs is outstanding. Great beer selection with take home and growler options. They had me with a grand opening special of Boneyard RPM IPA. Great set up for the small space they have. Loved the open kitchen and the staff was super efficient, knowledgable and laid back. Go.

Love this place - they've got two or three standard pizzas and three or four rotating pizzas on the menu. And a great selection of beer and cider. I've liked every pizza I've had here. For lack of a better term, I'm calling it Seattle-style pizza. It's very different than NY/NJ or Greek pizza. The crust has a homemade feel to it but with bubbles, nice bread flavor, and some crunch. Ingredients tend to be fancier and fresher than regular pizza. I'm saying that to convince you it's not better than NJ cause it's a different kind of pizza. But in my heart maybe... I don't wanna admit Can get a bit crowded for dinner. Also, the servers have always been super friendly. Mad props. Recommendation is to go with friends and order a bunch of different pies to split.

Context: I've been to Italy so I'm a pizza snob. This thin crust pizza was delicious. I got the sausage and a friend got the mushroom and we shared. I really liked the sausage better since it had tomato sauce. Beer selection was unique (great). We had a sour beer that went great. Beware that the beer prices were a bit high since they were speciality. Service was great. We went at lunch and the pizzas came right out. Place is cool but on the smaller side. I imagine this place will fill up once the word is out. Definitely recommend this off the beaten path pizza joint.

  • Jon N.

I'm a big fan of the Pizza. Thin crust in the middle and nice at the edges, the right amount of toppings. Very consistent every time I go in. I like the menu, just the right number of items, one page not a novel. I also like the team, and it's one of the few places in Seattle where you can talk about the British Premiere League. Nice to have a conversation about the "other football."

  • Carol R.

Delicious with awesome service and it's not expensive. Only thing to know is they stop serving lunch/pizza at 2:00 and only have what they call snacks from 2-5. We walked in just after 2:00 but made a fabulous lunch from Cesar salad, roasted veggies, bread, spicy pistachios. We also learned that dry vanilla bean soda is really tasty!

Congratulations! If you are reading this review, it means you have stumbled upon the best beer selection in Queen Anne. All that is left for you to do is open the door and enjoy an awesome atmosphere. The sounds of the Allman Brothers on vinyl will help your taste buds wrap around some delicious wood fired pizza. What are you waiting for?

  • Charli H.

Absolutely awesome beer and cider list! Over 20 taps and a full page worth of additional bottles. We came during their in-between lunch and dinner setup, so they were just serving a limited menu as far as food was concerned. We made do with beer while watching the Mariners game on their big screen in the corner. Beer, game on, and vinyl playing over the speakers, how can you go wrong? A welcome addition to Queen Anne's neighborhood.

This place is amazing!! I had some of the most delicious pizza and brews here. The atmosphere and service was unique as well. I know they let customers play vinyls, which is awesome but my experience had the wonderful film, Airplane playing in the background. I had the wood fired margherita pizza with simple, fresh ingredients that compliment each other perfectly! I cannot wait to come back.

Great place for artisanal quality pizza. A bit spendy, but very much worth it. The Gnocchi is amaze-balls. I licked the bowl. The pizza was really great and had some really cool combo options. We tried both deserts on the menu and the panne c___ (can't quite remember the name) was the best. Orange honey, custard and lavender blackberries. Very sweet and great to split for 2 or 3 folks.

My first pizza was a walk on the wild side for me. As a pescetarian I appreciate experimental vegetarian dishes but the pizza I had was disgusting. I ordered the white bean and rapini pizza. went on line first to see what a rapini is. I enjoy broccoli and they are similar so I chose this pizza. The pizza was extremely bitter (the rapini) and spicy (which wasn't mentioned on the menu). I ate a whole piece before I decided it was inedible. My friend tried it too to check and she spit it out. I reluctantly returned the pizza and exchanged it for a margarita. The bottom of the crust was black. The pizza tasted horrible. I loved their caesar salad and molten chocolate cake, and the waitress was really friendly and accommodating. so...meh

Maybe we came on an off afternoon (it was the summer). Maybe they were understaffed. Maybe our party was too big. I'm not sure what it was but I was excited to try this spot and I left kind of disappointed. We grabbed the largest table possible since we had about 9 people. The service was really slow and we had to ask the waiter if he forgot our order (yeah... He did). Once we got a chance to talk to the waiter he seemed nice enough and the food was pretty tasty but I just don't think they had enough people working. They wouldn't split the check (understandable because of the amount of us) and it was an extra 15 minutes or so for us to get our cards/change back. Good food, kind of overpriced. I would really like to try this place again with maybe just one other person as the atmosphere is cool and they have a great brew list. I'll update with a more sparkly review if it goes better next time.

Awesome spot in Lower Queen Anne. Great selection of beers from local and around the world (selection tends to favor Belgians, but has plenty of local IPAs too). The pizzas are excellent, all of the classics are amazing. The specials we've had have all been good, but some better than others. Awesome atmosphere, but can get a little warm in the summer if you sit back by the oven.

I feel bad giving this place a 3 star review because I feel like it was partially my fault. I came in around 2:20 pm, which is typically when they're doing prep work for dinner and only serve snacks. I didn't know this prior to walking in, but they still offered to make me a pizza. I ordered the sausage pizza with one of their beers on tap. I noticed that the chef was prepping some dessert at the same time. The beer came out first and was delicious. They seem to have a great selection with good descriptions on their menu. The pizza came out just under 10 minutes after ordering and was delicious. However, the bottom was very burnt. I didn't mind eating it since the burnt taste didn't really come through for most of the pizza, but the crust was not edible. I decided to separate the burnt bottom of the crust to get a taste for the crust in general and liked it. Overall, good food and beer, but the execution was off. Probably because I came in at a weird time. I'll be coming back to try their food during peak hours.

i love a wood fired oven pizza. and i like what they are doing here. its a good place to have a nice catch up with a friend over some beers. they have a crafty selection. i ordered the sausage but was not super impressed, the margarita however tasted more spot on. i liked the pickled vegetables and while I its not my absolute pizza pie shop, its a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Pizza was not that great, there are better places in Seattle where to eat a good (or at least decent) "Italian-style" pizza. And with "Italian-style" I mean everything that is not Pizza Hut and similar. @Sean G (the guy the wrote the review below mine): the fact that you have been in Italy doesn't make you a pizza snob or a pizza expert, the fact that you start with that sentence just makes you pretentious :)

  • Cynthia P.

Awful! You would be better off ordering Dominos with some tall boys. Service was inattentive and lacking, a bartender actually belched 1 foot away from me at the bar and didn't even excuse himself! The only people at the bar worked there besides us. The pizza was burnt and lacking in toppings, the cook was frying up chips in pork fat and there is no fan so we smelled like deep fried food when we left. The only saving grace ( and not enough to ever return) was the record collection. It's sad to say I will never return to this restaurant again unless it changes to something else .

Unpretentious place to relax, have a special beer, order off a good but simple menu, and enjoy lower Queen Anne. Feels like you are at a small party in a friends house. I eat here several times a month and always leave feeling good about my experience.

I am so happy to live in the same neighborhood as this fabulous establishment. I have been there on numerous occasions and enjoyed excellent pizzas, roasted veggies and salad during their set meal hours and delicious meatballs and focaccia during their "in between" service hours. If you want Diet Coke and a fully loaded Pizza Hut "pizza", go elsewhere. Everything on their menu exhibits a desire to offer quality food and beverages. Oh, and their website lists that their license does not allow minors. Why give someone a one star review when you were too lazy to do the research? I agree that the beers are a wee bit pricy, but often they are beers I have not seen anywhere else and I think the value of their food options more than offsets the beer pricing. I have always had excellent service as well. Lucas rocks out the pizzas and is happy to chat about them as well. Everyone else there has been charming and professional on every visit. I plan to make this a weekly stop on my culinary rounds.

Could not be happier to welcome this gem to the neighborhood! Pizza was spot on with good ingredients, good selection of micro brews, home made pickles were a nice touch. Lets hope the Ozzie's/Pesos bro-crowd does not infiltrate... that would be a deal breaker no matter how good the food is.

During our trip to Seattle mid-September, my boyfriend and I stopped in this bar while attempting to explore the area near our hotel. We only came in and had a beer, but the bartender was super nice and even helped recommend to us places we shouldn't miss being in Seattle and beer and music lovers. We sat near the outside facing the street. Loved that they had such an open feel to the bar, bringing the outside in, LOVE it!

I've had pizza in many corners of manhattan and Brooklyn and the piazzas of Italy--this pizza holds it's own! High quality ingredients and a crust that melts in your mouth!! Seriously--don't miss out on this lower QA gem! The best pizza in Seattle, BY FAR!

  • Cassie T.

Super cute spot on QA, really liked the young vibe. We only ordered two pizza's - the duck egg, which was awesome and the sausage. The dough was really doughy, but in a good way. I'm confused, but can't explain, it was so good! Def want to try some salads and the meatballs, will come back soon.

An impulse stop while in town for business turned into an excellent dinner. The homemade sausage pizza was fantastic - and the beer selection was nicely varied and balanced. I grabbed a seat at the corner of the bar and the bartender was right there quickly with a beer list and food menu. I am looking forward to my next business trip out here and will definitely bring colleagues next time.

Stopped in for lunch for two. The atmosphere was really pleasant - indoor/outdoor setup for nice weather (like today), with rustic decor and a social, jovial vibe. Service was a tad slow, and they were out of the first two sodas I wanted (root beer and raspberry), but the pizza was really delicious, and it was nice watching it get made right in front of us. I didn't care for the house pickled veggies, but the pizza is fantastic.

Two of us split a Caesar salad and the sausage pizza. The Caesar was great and the pizza was quite tasty. It was a full house, but we were able to find a seat right away. Casual atmosphere Good Service Somewhere between Olympia's up the street and Serious Pie in South Lake Union.

Went with some friends and had a great time. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the beer selection was outstanding! Great atmosphere, very laid back, relaxed environment. The beer list is extensive; with a great variety on draft. We had the garden salad with figs and goat cheese along with the rapini and ricotta pizza. All of it was excellent. Service is attentive, but in a very unassuming, chill manner. Can't recommend this place enough.

  • peter r.

A pizza place? The pizza is truly mediocre at best: charred crust thins toward the center to a membrane that cannot even support the molten mozzarella. The crust is flavorless and the topping is overly salty. This in a margherita where the flavors of the simple ingredients should shine . 3 wines on the list; about 85 beers on tap. This, just in case you are looking for Italian food, is not your place: this is a beer geek hangout. 1 desert on the menu: a fruit bread pudding. It is very good and it easily makes up for the substandard pizza. But.....that makes up for a very limited menu choices!!! This is a single visit place for me.

  • Steven N.

Was excited to try this place out as I had seen the construction over the last few months. The beer selection is great. A really nice variety. The pizza was just ok. Our crust was half burnt, which I understand can happen with wood fired pizza, however, the really good places ensure it doesn't. We ordered a seasonal pizza with squash and spiced ricotta. There was a weird curry flavoring in the pizza and something just didn't taste right. Our mouths were burning with spice as we left. (I like my food spicy & hot, but this was a bit much). Service was a bit disorganized, but I chalk that up to being the 2nd night open. I'm pretty sure every waiter in the place came by at some point to ask if we needed anything. Summary: good beer selection, OK pizza. Nothing terrible, nothing great.

We like this place more than The Herbfarm. This is what "gourmet" is all about: simple, unfussy, fresh ingredients, beautiful preparation, creative without crazy. After enjoying their craft beer, gorgeous salad and perfect pizza, we always leave saying that we couldn't possibly eat better than this. Every time.

Totally the place to get pizza in Queen Anne! We wish this was closer to us (we're in upper Queen Anne), but it's worth the walk. We got beers and 2 wood fired pizzas. The sausage pizza was great but the real star was the one with rapini and ricotta (can't remember the name of it). It was fabulous! Great casual atmosphere with wide selection of beers and ciders to go with the best pizza we've found thus far in Queen Anne!

This is a decent place with outstanding beers and pizza. They also have some otehr decent dishes. So why am I not giving it four or five stars? Well I went to the tasting dinner last week on a Tuesday night and while the food was decent I was extremely shocked when the bill came and it was 80 dollars a person. The service was good but very slow and it took four hours to get through it. Also too much talking between meals. Now that may seem that I am being fussy but this is the same pricing as Joel Robuchon or Thomas Keller restaurants and the food doest even come close to that class. Its like way way way over priced sampler dishes and while I appreciate the effort, its not a good value. The worst part was that nowhere I saw was the pricing listed and no way I would have gone. 200 bucks for two of us is better spent elsewhere with meals that are much more satisfying and elegant. I am not saying that they are not doing a lot right. They really are. Its just that their ingredients, dishes and service in regards to that tasting menu do not merit that price. I would have been happy at $40 a head which is what I was expecting from what a friend told me it costs, even with the fact that my wife as the designated driver didnt get half of the drinks that came with the food. For a regular visit and a pizza, five stars. For the tasting menu, not even close due to price and it taking way too long to get out. Its a great place so please dont get me wrong here but I am extremely unhappy with the menu lacking anything indicating the price probably because I didnt know to look elsewhere and relied on what my friend who goes every month told me it would cost. Had I known the actual cost, I would have had a beer with my friends and said see ya later and gone to Crow on lower Queen Anne and easily eaten better and saved at least a hundred. I also think when this is so expensive on a tasting menu the gratuity should have been part of the price. Shelling out another 20 on top of it just added to the sting of disappointment. Peter

Of all the establishments in Lower Queen Anne this is the best to consider and I will tell you why: 1) it's not hyped and you can find a table most of the time. 2) the meatballs and wood fired Margarita pizza (with garlic!) are 2 enough reasons to come here. 3) beer selection is quality 4) staff is COOL. Not jerks like nearly every other place in QA. 5) the ambience is not pretentious and it's easy to feel like this is going to be a regular hangout. love this place.

  • Carne E.

The Good: Handcrafted place, handcrafted pizza, handcrafted people. Very quaint would accurately describe the vibe. Cool people. Vinyl records for music? Awesome! The Bad: The pizzas are not as good as the price makes them out to be. The Ugly: The steamed pizza crust in the center of every overcheesed pizza. Conclusion: It is pretty good. I love the atmosphere there. I probably wouldn't get another pizza though. The sides weren't impressive either. Both in taste and quality. I am giving 2 stars on the food alone. If they drop the price a buck or two and take half the cheese off the pizza's, I think we would be in serious business for a 4 star rating.

What was clearly a chef screw up turned out to be our favorite part of the meal. We ordered the special- a Mortadella Pizza- and added mushrooms and pickled peppers (sounds good right?). We watched the chef make the pizza, only to have the server see that both the mushrooms and peppers had been omitted when he'd retrieved it from the oven. The chef added these items and put the pizza back in the oven for another blast of heat. The result? A perfectly crispy and charred pizza that we thoroughly enjoyed. It was one of the best pizzas we've had in a long time. We ordered another pizza to follow (the balsamic onion and Gorgonzola) that didn't have two rounds of cooking- and the result was a delicious but decidedly limp & sloppy pizza that wasn't nearly as good as the second one. We know next time to ask for the pizza to have a little more time in the oven. Suggest you do the same if you visit. The beers on tap are nice- the selection is very good and they have some rare and unusual selections. They are pricey though- so be forewarned- some pints are over $10. They have wine too (my wife had a lovely glass of Red)- but no liquor. If you're're in Lower Queen Anne and looking for Pizza and Beer in a pretty chill environment- The Masonry is a very good option.

Walked to this place from the Space Needle and it was pretty empty. They have a limited lunch menu, but the margherita pizza was very, very good. They did have a great variety of Ciders on the drink menu (and of course beer). Their pizza special was a Mortadella pizza, which sounded amazing for people who are into exploring weird pizzas. Unfortunately, my selective palette doesn't appreciate the fine experimentations of these wonderful establishments! The pizza sizes are in between. Too big for one person, too small for two. Though, pizzas could probably feed too not-so-hungry people. Two pizzas seemed very adequate for a group of three. If you hear a song that you like, they display their "now playing" record, which is pretty great!

The pizzas here are simply amazing! We had the Sausage pizza, and the Mushroom one, both were equally good. Probably one of the best pies I've had! Ingredients are fresh, crust was thin but still soft and simply perfect. Note their food menu isn't big. Solid bar and a large selection of brews, local and artisan. Decor is contemporary, they do have a large TV to watch games etc.

I really wanted to love this place because it had a great ambiance and the staff was so friendly. However, we ordered two pizzas to go and they were both badly burnt. The taste of charred pizza was overwhelming - we couldn't enjoy the pizzas at all. I might try coming again, but it seems based on other reviews that this isn't a one-off instance.

Today I caught myself picturing a fat gooey piece of their pie; it was floating in the air in front of me; I could almost feel it's creamy saltiness melting on my tongue... In slow motion! While I was crossing the street! I don't even like pizza!

The food menu is small, consisting of pizza and small plates. Everything is cooked in their wood fire oven, resulting in a pleasant smokiness to the small plates, and a perfect, crackling char on the pizza crusts. The rotating pizzas can be an adventure, almost always a satisfying one. The permanent pizzas (e.g. Margherita, mushroom) are crowd pleasers - a recommended choice for first timers. The small plates are hit or miss, but the gnocchi carbonara with fried pancetta is excellent - a must try for those craving savory indulgence. Perhaps the biggest attraction is the selection behind the bar. They have the best bottled beer list in lower Queen Anne, not to mention a dozen rotating taps of local beer, wine, and cider. It's definitely a beer heavy offering, but who's craving a Chablis when face deep in a hand tossed, wood fired, prosciutto and roasted red pepper pizza? Keep that pretension at Purple where it belongs. While this review might encourage attendance, I'd prefer you take your time getting there. I enjoy being able to take my spot at the bar without too much time spent waiting

Great pizza and beer/cider. I really love the different music they play, fits the atmosphere well.

Small menu, but what is on there is delicious. Had the mushroom pizza. Big chunks of mushrooms. Hubby had the meatballs. Loved them! Lots of beers choices also. Even had some different types of sodas. Would definitely recommend!

Tasty food, multiple vegetarian options, diverse beer selection, attentive staff. Kind of an industrial vibe. Food straight from the embers of the oven to your table. Music a bit loud but other than that it was great.

I cannot say enough good things about the food at The Masonry... it's simply amazing. However, the service is terrible. It's just really really bad. Most of the time my partner and I will just get take out so that we don't have to deal with the frustration of waiting 15 min for someone to acknowledge we're in the restaurant or having to physically go find your server in order to get a drink refilled that has been empty since before your food arrived. I'm sure you're saying, why didn't you ask them for a refill when they delivered your food. I get that. But the only person that seems to work at this place is the woman who does the cooking. She often will bring your food out too because I think she knows her colleagues are mostly useless. Our fool proof plan of ordering take out recently failed too as they've failed to update the seasonal options on their website and they couldn't tell us that over the phone so they only made a faction of our order as a solution. Thanks guys! Anyway, the food is great but you should be prepared to be frustrated by the service.

My favorite pizza place in Seattle. Fantastic real Neapolitan pizza, and a great selection of high quality beer. Be warned though: If you're expecting typical American pizza, aka a giant, cheap circle of bread piled with greasy salty things, then you may be disappointed. If you've been to Italy and were forever spoiled by real pizza, this may satisfy your craving. This pizza is smaller. The excellent fresh dough is cooked just right. It's slightly charred and crispy on the outside, but still moist on the inside. The ingredients are high quality, fresh, and used sparingly so that you can actually taste the different flavors. Really good stuff. I like it better than Serious Pie and Tutta Bella, my previous favorites.

This is by far one of our favorite places to go. Amazing beer selection and amazing pizza. We love trying the seasonal rotating pizzas, but we still can't get over how amazing the Margherita is. They've been adding some other items to their menu like mussels and risotto and everything we've tried has been amazing!

This place knows pizza. If you enjoy wood fired pizza you won't be disappointed! They also have a great rotating beer selection and some of the best meatballs I've ever had. Pro tip: Get both and dip your pizza crust in the left over sauce from the meatballs. I highly recommend trusting them and just ordering whatever seasonal pizza they have on offer. Last time we ended up with something with kale and lemon that I am still craving. And I don't even like kale!

Generally, I enjoy eating here. I think its a great neighborhood spot, lovely selection of beers (and my dad particularly enjoys the ginger beer), and I love that they keep the menu fairly simple and focused (though I do wish they had about 2 more choices on the pizza). I always seem to get the same waitress when I go, and she is great, super sweet, definitely a plus to going there. I'm hoping they figure out how to cook the pizzas without burning them - I don't mind the slightly burnt crust, but can always be a bit of a gamble when I bring a friend along if they will like it. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing how this place grows into itself, as it continues to figure things out beyond the first year.

We came here for an early dinner and drinks before a soccer game. Unfortunately, we were too early to try the famous wood-fired pizza - pizza isn't available until 5pm, and we had to be headed out by then. They do have a stunning beer list, pleasing even the most discerning of my beer-loving friends. They also have wine and - yay for me - rotating cider; I had 2 of the yummy pumpkin ciders. The food that we did get was good. I had a very tasty spinach salad and a "meat pie" - which was really more like a bread pudding but with a savory gravy, meat and vegetables. I guess if something is billed as "pie", I expect a crust of some kind, even if it's puff pastry. But I can't wait to come back and try a wood fired pie!

My favorite newly discovered spot in Seattle. Found it a year too late, but have been making up for my mistake. Love all the pies, fantastic clams & meatballs (with my favorite, slightly spicy marinara), and Caesar salads. My favorite part still: great beer selection & GREAT vinyl collection playing throughout dinner. By far the best place to visit in Lower Queen Anne!

Beer and service were great. Pizza is cooked perfectly, but is a little boring. Never had much luck with anything else on the menu.

We are total foodies and we really enjoy sampling the local cuisine when traveling. So tonight's meal at The Masonry was a delight. After checking Yelp for wood fired pizza, we headed over. The seasonal menu offered an eggplant /goat cheese/caramelized onion/mint pizza. That caught my eye, especially since I had enjoyed a fried eggplant pita earlier in the day.at Athina Grill by Chihuly Garden. I decided to keep the eggplant theme going with my selection. We started off with the Bibb lettuce salad topped with cranberries, red onion and delectably light, crisp, fried garbanzo beans. It was accompanied by a glass of a light and tasty pale ale. The pizza arrived right as we finished the salad. I must say, it was quite the gastronomical delight. Pizza baked in a wood fired oven is hands down the best way to have pizza. The crust was bubbly with just the right amount of crispness, and pillowy soft inside. The toppings were fresh and complemented each other perfectly. The two of us polished the entire pizza off with no looking back! I most definitely recommend The Masonry for a delicious and satisfying meal.
