I just paid $6.59 for a cup of chili. By cup, I mean approximately 8 oz. Do not get me wrong - it is good chili but at approximately $.25 a bite - I will likely go elsewhere. Ironically, on the receipt the description of the chili is "1 High Price". Yeah - they definitely got that right.

Save your money & go somewhere else for lunch. The soup I had was sub-par, and my "chicken basil bisque" had one tiny piece of chicken and the rest was beans (beans in a bisque?) not to mention not even the slightest taste of basil. While their website claims "freshly baked bread" to accompany the soup, it was a cold roll out of a plastic bag (grocery store rolls, uncooked) that was so stale I couldn't eat it. And the price for this disastrous lunch was over $7! Yuck! There must be a reason no one was at this line and everyone was in the tossed salads line across the lobby.

The soups are alright. Nothing spectacular about this place, but then again, I'm not crazy about soup. For $5, you can get a small or medium soup depending on the type, and you get a choice of roll or crackers and a choice of fruit. The guy working the register is friendly and always reminds you not to forget your apple or orange and they're happy to give you samples of the ten or so soups they offer. Most of the soups change daily, and my favorite - broccoli cheddar - is only offered on Mondays and Fridays. They always have at least one vegetarian soup, although it isn't necessarily vegan. My broccoli cheddar soup was a little on the salty side, while the chicken noodle was a little on the brothy side, but both were eaten. Important facts: they offer $1 off if you mention Yelp, and they also have a stampcard that you can get ten stamps for a free medium soup.

So I've been to this place several times to grab a quick cup of soup, and have always had a great experience - very friendly and helpful service. However, today I went and the service was SO incredibly poor, it makes me not want to go back - ever. The young lady working there was so unfriendly, moved like a sloth, couldn't care less about my business, and didn't even thank me after ringing me up. Handed me my receipt and just turned around and walked away. I wasn't even sure my order was complete. So rude, I was stunned. And for the first time the soup wasn't even hot by the time I got back to my office, and it usually is. Plus, I have to say, even tho I've frequented this place often, I think it's WAAAAAY overpriced for what you get. A small cup of soup should not cost over $7. I don't get the roll because I'm gluten free, so I get the tortilla chips, which are oily and stale. Blech. I'll probably go back one more time because I now have a free soup on my punch card, but that will be it.

Hmm. This was a quick stop for lunch between client meetings, trying to hurry up the lunch process and get back to work, but it didn't really pay off. They have a good selection of soups, from standard stuff like tortilla soup and chili to more exotic stuff like lobster bisque and coconut curry chicken. I selected the lobster. It came with a wheat roll - I love dipping good bread in good soup, so I was kind of excited at this point. But not so much when I started eating. The soup itself was...not very lobster tasting. I know, what should I expect from a little stand in the lobby of an office building. But really. And what little meat there was in the soup was more reminiscent of heavily overcooked shrimp than decent lobster. Squeaky, chewy...just not great. And the roll, which could be the saving grace, reminded me of a dried out wheat bun like those I would buy from a Jewel back home. It was close enough that I checked to see if it had been split to accommodate a hamburger. I might try this again, but I would have to be in a real hurry. Maybe I should try something a bit more standard, but I just wasn't impressed.

I have no complaints about Soup's On. In fact, it's one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch during the work day. As someone who cannot have dairy or gluten and does not eat meat, my options are very limited in the Downtown area. Soup's On has several vegan and gluten-free options, and most days of the week serves one of their soups that is both vegan and gluten-free (the vegan chili and/or the vegan tomato basil-- both are good, but I prefer the chili, it is heartier). You also get a roll and a piece of fruit with your soup! (For those who cannot have gluten, they often offer me corn tortilla chips to accompany). The staff has always been very nice, they have a punch card, and I have not had issues with my soup staying hot as others have mentioned. The prices are good as well. I'll definitely be a regular visitor. Thanks for the lunch options, Soup's On!

Soup's On is a really easy place to go for lunch, especially if you work in the area. The people who work there are usually pretty pleasant, and they change their soup menu daily. One thing I really like about them is that you also get a roll and a piece of fruit with your soup. Generally speaking, it's a pretty healthy lunch. Their soups really do taste great, although I wish they would keep them a little more hot. Soup's On is pretty convenient, since it's right in the US Bank Center, and they have some chairs and tables around the lobby where you can eat if you so choose. This will definitely be a place I come to for lunch when the cold weather arrives. The price is ok... But hey, it's downtown Seattle, so what's the point in complaining about slightly higher pricing? If you're in the mood for some good soup, check it out. They also have their daily soup schedule online, so you can check it out before you go.

If you are looking for a quick & easy lunch downtown, Soups On! (or is it "Soups!"?) is definitely your best bet. For about $10 (yes, TEN DOLLARS), the boy and I walked away with: small chicken noodle soup (thick noodles, delicious broth, chicken that was CHICKEN, not creepy meat-pieces), small mushroom soup (which I liked even though I generally dislike mushrooms), one whole-grain roll each, a soda for me, and a piece of fruit for each of us (an apple and an orange). The guy just kept piling it on! He gave us samples, we made our choices, and then he said, "Oh, this also comes with a whole-grain roll, crackers, or both, take your pick." We got our rolls, I grabbed my soda, and then the guy said, "Oh, and see that fruit behind you? That's included too, so just grab what you want." It was like Christmas morning! Definitely a good choice that I'll make again in the future.

This place is cool if you like thick, creamy soups. I prefer mine brothy and chunky. Their beef stew is good, though, and the curried coconut they had on Wednesday was nice and chunky too, if a little sweet.

I'm a fan of soup in general. This kiosk is a great place to stop in chilly Seattle for a quick soup lunch. There were a bunch of options and I went back for seconds on a Sunday - but they weren't open :( The staff was friendly and informed and the prices are reasonable. This is a great option for soup lovers or those just walking around the breezy streets.

They deserve a 3.5 Star. The soups are all yummy, but the service is not so happy. I wish the soup lady would smile some time. And because it is just a soup stand, I can't say that it was the most amazing experience. My favorite is the Cream of Mushroom soup! I love the flavor and the fact that there are large chunks of YUMMY mushroom in the soup. I've tried many of the other soups too but this one is the best! I love that ALMOST every soup comes with a piece of bread and a piece of fruit. The sign says any 8 oz soup is ~$3.99. They don't that that is not one of the sizes... it is smaller than a small and does not come with fruit or bread. Sad. There is also a soup of the day which is a better deal. You get a Med. for the cost of a small. The soups seem more expensive than they need to be. On a happier note, before 10 am is breakfast. They serve oatmeal. :) And the guy in the morning is much happier. You can choose between sweetened or unsweetened. And you can choose whatever sides you want to put in it. I like sweetened with almonds and raisins.

I tried this soup stand out last Thursday when I had a bad head cold at work. I heard about this place on Yelp and their $1 off special hooked me. They had a few vegetarian options to chose from and I opted for the tomato and portabello bisque. I got a medium size (which I think equates to a bowl-- the small size must be a cup and the large size is for 2-3 people) for $6.59 after tax with the Yelp deal. The soup came with a free wheat roll and a piece of fruit (i chose a Granny Smith apple). The soup was quite delicious and made me feel tons better, but the frugal side of myself is regretting paying $6 for a bowl of soup. However, I think that in the business district of downtown Seattle that isn't a bad price for a meal, especially when you factor in the bread and fruit. Also, the service was very prompt and friendly. Also, I read that they serve oatmeal for breakfast from 7:30-10;30 am, and I'm curious how much it costs and how delicious it might be. All in all, I'm giving this soup stand 4 stars. I have to minus a star because I don't think it was a great value-- who wants to pay $7 for a bowl of soup (even though it was delicious)? Mmmm soup...

Soups On? Well, kind of. It's a little itty bitty soup stand that you would expect to provide great soup at great prices. The first assumption stands correct. The second does not. Cheers: The soups are great. In fact, they're addictive. I like the beef stew and corn and red pepper chowder. The owners are super friendly, will remember you and are quick. That's good, because the lines get long. I like the fruit that comes along with the meal. It's fresh and healthy. Jeers: The prices are extraordinarily high. A medium soup with a soda could easily run you into the $7 range, depending on your choices. That's too much. Also, sometimes they gave me a complimentary extra roll and sometimes they charged me. I almost wish they'd made up there mind on the policy so my expectations weren't mixed. I'll come back once in a blue moon, but eating here regularly will damage my already thinning wallet and won't satisfy this hungry Asian man.

I tried their chili soup with fritos and cheese, and it was really good! Yes, the soup is a little pricey, but you're paying for convenience. The place is located inside a lobby, so it's intended for those on a lunch break that want something fast. I would definitely go back!

We stopped here on a rainy day for some good hot soup - only to discover they close at 3pm.. She still had a couple of them out and offered, though I thought better of getting the end-of-the-day soup... This is a soup cart in an office building lobby, not a restaurant.

Perfect for a quick lunch during the work day on a cold-rain-sideways-puddle-jumping day. Enough soup choices each day to have something for everyone, and a free piece of fruit and roll with your soup! Great prices for a lunch also, and nice staff. I will be going back often! I also want to try the Oatmeal they serve in the mornings.

It's practically a "soup" day most days of the year in Seattle - and I often head to this little kiosk during the work week to fill my urge. I've tried most of the soups and all are good - but I always come back to the Hearty Beef Stew. Had a small bowl for lunch today along with a potato roll. Don't be alarmed if you see a long line as the service is swift and the soup won't dissapoint!

Soup's On is a convenient little walk from my office, which is perfect for cold and rainy days. On colder days, they usually have a pretty long line, but it always moves quickly. There is at least one (clearly marked!) vegetarian option every day. I particularly like the Old-Fashioned Tomato.

  • Christine C.

I like Soups On. The staff is so pleasant and there's always so many soup options to choose from. I especially like that I can call the number on the receipt to get the day's soups in advance of heading outside in the rain and wind - which are the exact days I'm in the mood for soup. I do feel the prices are steep - at least $5.99 for a small, but they're so friendly and if you are a repeat customer that they recognize you might get lucky and get a discount - for no reason!

It's nice that they let customers sample the soups. I thought the Louisiana Red Bean and Rice soup was surprisingly bland (and so was glad to have been able to sample before buying), but the Portabello & Roasted Tomato Bisque was very tasty. I rarely get any cream-based soups, but this was a delightful exception. The whole grain roll was very tasty as well.

Previously known as "Soups!" Today was cold and I forgot to bring my lunch, so I gave them another shot...and it was great! They're rolling along now under the new owners, and they've changed the name to "Soups On!" The veggie options are back, and I'm sitting here savoring a bowl of Veggie Lentil. The staff was pleasant, the soup came up fast, and I've calmed down considerably from my previous review. The really exciting news? Two kinds of breadbowls: sourdough and multigrain. mmm-mmm. So much better than the bread they were using last time I came.

This place is ok. I really don't think the soup is all that. It kind of reminds me of the soup they serve at QFC. Soup's On! is on the expensive side. Get the chicken or tuna salad with a roll. It's the best thing they offer. The staff is always nice. Seating can be limited so good luck finding a place to sit in the lobby. It's more of a grab and go kind of place.

I work in the building and go here multiple times a week. I can get out with a 12 oz (sometimes 16oz) cup of soup, whole grain roll, and piece of fruit (banana, apple, or orange) for about $5. They have daily special with which you can get a medium (16oz) for the price of the small. Great tasting soups - I like the chicken vegetable noodle, chicken and dumpling (only served Thursdays), and the mediterranean chicken and rice. All three of these soups are UNDER 200 calories for a small. The service is always really friendly and they will give samples if you ask. Highly recommend you try - even if you don't generally like soup (I usually don't), you will like Soups!

$7.25 for a small cup of soup and a store-bought roll. If I'm paying this much for bisque, I should be giving my order to a 5-star restaurant waiter and not a mall kiosk cashier.

Expect a line if you get there around noon. Sometimes, it's a very long line. Their lobster bisque is amazing. Service is a little weak, and they often run out of bread. My initial draw to Soups! was that they included fresh fruit and bread with each soup. They no longer offer the fruit.
