On another day, at another time, in another place, this would probably be a 3-star place for me. On a gorgeous day, with plenty of open picnic tables beachside and a friendly kid at the counter...this was a little slice of heaven in the middle of a hectic week. If I'm traveling for work, I usually try to sneak in the most ambitious of mini-vacations before I invariably have to hand over the keys to my rental car and fly back to the real world. Alki Beach was my 45 minutes of bliss, and when you're pressed for time it's important to find a place that can dish out grub quickly. Slices didn't disappoint! Thin on crust and sauce (and toppings, so I just went with cheese and the veggie special of the day), this is a good meal for the smaller eater. 2 slices + a can of soda is $6.60 - be a good guy and tip the kids and it comes out a little over $8. I wouldn't feed the fam here, but if you're riding solo and looking for a quiet place to take in the scene, this is your zen. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Check these guys out!

Best pizza in Seattle or West Seattle period! Organic, locally sourced produce. The sauce is absolutely orgasmic! Much love to Slices pizza "maker". Being the pizza hound that I am, nothing sates my desire more than Slices on Alki.

Cute pizza joint on Alki's waterfront. This is a very casual eatery. Great place to grab a quick bite and enjoy Seattle's beautiful summer weather. Pros: Friendly and quick service. We got our orders within 5 minutes. They have pizza by the slice or you can order our own pizza. They also have salads and some sandwiches as well. Pretty decent price. $3 for a slice. I ordered the 2 slice combo with a lemonade for $8 and a Caesar salad for $6. Good pizza. Made fresh. The pizzas are very thin so if you like a thicker crust, then this is not your place. The slices are a pretty good size but since it was so thin, I had to eat two! The pizza was also not very greasy or dry. It also has the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. I highly recommend the lemonade! It tasted freshly squeezed and very refreshing. Majority of the seating are outside with a great view of the beachside. Cons: The Caesar salad was very vinegary... Besides that, I will definitely come back!

Great pizza on a perfect day overlooking the beach. Perfect little place to catch dinner and watch the sunset after a lovely Alki beach bike ride.

This place serves thin crust pizza with an Oceanside view. They have specials on pizza! The one I got was 2 slices and a drink for 6.60$. Service was one person (she's also the cashier), so you might have to wait in line for a bit. There was a daily pizza offered, and it was roasted veggie with goat cheese. Delicious. I like my pizza with extra sauce, but other than that a solid 4.5! :)

So delicious we visited 3 times in 5 days! Delicious food. Perfect patio. Gracious and friendly owners. Wish we lived in Seattle so we could return again and again.

Goat cheese + olive pizza was amazing! We came at sunset and the view was stunning! After a long day of sight seeing downtown, it was great to come hear and laugh, eat, and take in the atmosphere. It was affordable too which was nice.

Best view - followed by the best slice of Zuh with plenty of bottles of suds - Laurelwood Workhorse IPA - very nice way to cool down and enjoy West Seattle

Pizza is ok, location is excellent and staff is friendly but they have these policies like they won't let you buy more than one beer at a time (makes it pretty stupid if your using a debt card) yet they will sell you a large beer with twice the volume... Now you can buy a couple but you only get one at a time, you need to go to the counter for the other once you finish your 1st... Seriously an overly regulated policy for the youngest immature adults applied to everyone ~ too bad...

Slices makes some of the best pizza in all of Seattle. Everything is always fresh. Most of the time I visit here for lunch you can see a fresh pot of sauce cooking on the stove and the cook making fresh dough. The pizza had tons of flavor and in my opinion rivals any other pizza spots in town. The staff is always friendly and welcoming as well and remember people. Slices is a great place to grab some slices and take in the beautiful view at Alki at the same time.

Amazing location, friendly staff, and an amazing view of the beach. I wish they offered gluten-free slices of pizza though. Instead, I enjoyed the soup, which warmed me up, since it was a bit cool out. I sat on the patio and people-watched while the sun was setting. This is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your food!

This place is good on a sunny day when you're thirsty, hungry and have a designated driver. The slices are those thin crust, off a paper plate type that are the best when you're a bit buzzed or a kid. The beer if plentiful and reasonably priced. The deck is huge and has a great view of the water, the beach, the cars and people.

Living within walking distance of an awesome beach front restaurant with delicious pizza and a good beer selection is a bit dangerous. While Slices may not be able to accommodate many people during the rainy months (as their inside seating is limited), their awesome patio space is perfect for a sunny day. I could easily spend an entire afternoon noshing on their pizza (which is a nice balance of crunchy and chewy), sipping a cold drink, and people watching, all while taking in the amazing water view. I haven't had much of their pizza, but as I've already mentioned their crust is very nice. It balances chewiness and crispiness and the toppings are simple, but quality. You won't find any crazy combinations here, but why mess with the classics? As an added bonus, they sell raw dough to-go, so you can easily make pizza at home. Their drink selection is solid as well! Nice selection of beer and non-alcoholic beverages. A wider selection of wine might be nice. While service is friendly, I have to say it's a bit slow. If you're in the area and looking for a reasonably priced slice and a beer look no further!

2 stars right off the bat for their pepperoni!! I love and search for pepperoni that curls into tiny grease cups and slices has it. I also kinda dig their very homemade dough, it's nothing fancy and tastes like the first dough I made at home using the recipe I found in a cuisinart recipe book. The sauce is tasty, nothing that will dance on your pallet but just a good homey tasting pizza sauce obviously made I house from scratch. Love the location and eating a couple of slices on the porch on a sunny day!

The yelp community really let me down on this one. I'm not sure if the reviews are good because people don't know any better or are comparing this to little Caesars or Pizza Hut. I am by no means a pizza snob but I've had far better pizza from the mall. The location is great, patio has plenty of seating and the girls at the counter were friendly enough. We waited about 20 min in line just to place our order. If the food is fresh and good, I don't mind the wait at all! We ordered a pie with olives and half mushrooms and half salami. It took another 20 min or so before our pie actually came out. It LOOKED good upon first glance but when I tried to take a slice, I saw how THIN this pizza was. It was so thin, everything fell off. It was so thin, it was like biting into MUSH. It had the consistency of soggy bread until I got to the crust. Now dont get me wrong, I love thin crust pizza. That's all we order. But I expect a thin crust pizza that I can hold in my hand, fold in half and eat without getting sauce and mushy crust everywhere. The salami was good, the green olives were cut very thickly which gave the pizza an overly "olive-y" taste and the mushrooms looked fresh and big. Everyone was so hungry and we waited so long so we had one slice and was done! I wouldn't have another slice, just enough so I wouldn't eat my arm. To be fair, we just moved here 5 weeks ago from NY so I may be a little biased. I had to write this review to warn others.

Waited in line 20 minutes while the staff BS - One gal serves the pizza while the "beverage girl" hangs out and watches the customers wait. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and they should have been on the ball. Crappy pizza too.

I have lived on Alki off and on for 30 years and I can't believe I am saying this, but my favorite pizza place is no longer Pegasus it is Slices. I love their crust and Italian sausage! So good! Parking of course sucks like everywhere on Alki however.

    (4)
  • Corliss P.

I love their pizza. You can get a large pie for 20 bucks with whatever you want on it. Got the pepperoni and olive (they just have green olives here) and it was awesome! I recommend getting the pizza to go and eating it on the beach or sitting at the tables outside and enjoying the view.

Great value for pizza and beer on the water (especially the $19.80 pies with unlimited toppings!) - but what most people might not know is the SANDWICHES are off the charts! Died and went to heaven with my homemade focaccia bread, mozz, arugula, balsamic amazingness sandwich. Locally owned by the coolest couple you'll ever meet and everything is homemade!

  • Carol J.

Delicious thin crust pizza, extra cheese seems like a regular cheese though. $20.80 for extra cheese thin 18". People are friendly and the place is clean. Has a great outdoor seating area. Will be back!

    (4)
  • Kristin W.

We've come here a couple times and we love it. It is right at the beach and the outdoor seating is great. Beer and pizza on a sunny day in Seattle? Yes please! Their pizza is pretty good. Thin crust style pizza. Tasty. A little pricey. Coming here on a sunny day = parking nightmare. But we tend to come very early, park, hang out and then eat as the day progresses (or eat all day long). So be prepared to hate life if you come later on a sunny day trying to park and eat. But when you get here, enjoy!

Clearly this place has only stayed in business because of their prime beachfront real estate. The service is horribly slow and they make no apologies. Their were 4 rude girls working behind the counter. Our large table included approximately 10 couples/families celebrating the last day of school. We all showed up at different times and were coming and going. However, Because SOME of the people had ordered a beer bucket Prior to us showing up, we were refused beer at the counter. ??? WTF? What restaurant denies a patron alcohol when they're ordering their first drink? Really? When I questioned their rules the girls said, "We're just teenagers, if u are unhappy, contact our manager." So, I said, "sure, please give me your managers contact information. Again, denied. Clearly this establishment doesn't give a damn about the customer, good service, or even basic common courtesy. They are insolent and plain stupid! I will NEVER go their again regardless of how much I do love to dine on the beach. Plenty of other businesses to patronize on Alki!

  • Justin B.

Slices is probably my favorite place to eat on Alki. The food is always fresh and the service is always friendly. If you're looking for a greasy slab of pie that will leave you feeling sluggish afterwards, you've come to the wrong place. Slices serves up homemade thin crust pizzas with light yet tasty toppings you would think come from their very own garden. Service has always been polite and fun to chat with. If you value freshness and service by all means come. If you're wanting bang for buck at the expense of feeling sluggish afterwards, stay away and let the rest of us eat that Slice for you!

    (5)
  • Woody M.

Although the location can't be beat, the service leaves me hungry. For a place that must get a lot of business, they do not have the most organized system and their kitchen staff does not work that fast. But the prices are decent and the ambiance inviting. Just don't come with a hungry crowd or you might wish you had chosen one of the local fish and chip joints instead.

  • D P.

I love this place and have been going to slices for years with my friends. The line does get long at times, usually has one or two people running the registers/preparing your order, so if you're impatient or a person that loves to whine/complain this isn't the place for you. Personally, I don't mind the wait at all, most of the time the line goes pretty fast and the staff is always wonderful. Pricing for each slice isn't cheap, but it isn't expensive either, its around $2-$3 a slice which isn't too bad in my opinion. They always have a good selection of delicious pizza and an even better selection of beer! If you're expecting $1 pizza you're in the wrong area, I will say it is cheap for being on Alki.

    (5)
  • Amber B.

Good pizza - I've never gotten the slices, we generally get a whole pie. Good selection of beer and drinks. I don't love their lemonade but I have a friend who does. The service is good, though they tend to take orders kind of slowly - they definitely focus on one customer at a time in line. They grow their own herbs and have a good composting system so they're environmentally focused.

This is the place for locals and out of Towners! Right across from Alki beach, enjoy patio seating, serious people watching, a bucket of beer and make your own pizza pie with as many toppings as you would like for one price! Thin crust pizza and don't expect to love the already made slices....come on people you don't know how fresh those are!

  • Bryan R.

I couldn't give a one-star. The view is too nice, and the people aren't rude or anything, but man, I keep giving them chances and they just keep disappointing. We usually stop in after volleyball to grab a few slices and beer and sit out on the deck, which is admittedly awesome. The beer selection is nice and beach-ish, though you have to bring all the IDs to the front to get it. It's the law, I get it. But ordering pizza...you'd think they were growing the wheat back there. The line will be long, and you will wait for it. And I think I figured out why--they don't start dealing with the next people until the people ahead of you are set, which means that instead of taking the order and then having the previous orderers sit down, everyone just stands there waiting until each person is 100% taken care of. So you, like me, will literally stand in line for 20 minutes at a not-crowded establishment to get your 2 overpriced slices of pizza while your friends enjoy the beer and the view. They need to seriously update how they take orders--it's just insulting to the customer to have to stand around that long. We ended up leaving and went over to Saigon Boat Cafe where were had great food and prompt service. Sad, but I doubt I'll be back.

I'm not a big fan of thin pizza, so I personally wouldn't choose to come here. That being said, it tasted good... pastry-like. Thin, flakey with a great toasted finish, and grated cheese generously sprinkled. Why would you want to come here? Great view on the deck and their willingness to accommodate a large party... and do it so well. It was a one-man show yesterday afternoon, where one guy was picking up after a group of about 25 people. Serving, checking in, pleasing the group. It was hot out, the sun was beating down, and this waiter just kept the optimistic attitude while catering to such a large group. Hats off to him!

There's a bevy of dining options in this area, some good and some not-so-good. Slices falls into the former category. They offer inexpensive pizza slices with little touches that earned them a fourth star. Things like fresh grated ribbons of Parmesan cheese and a thin flaky crust. You can buy a single slice from their selection. They usually have 2-3 different pies. Or wait for a fresh baked pizza to share. Basically it's perfectly serviceable cheap slices for takeaway or snag one of the outdoor tables to people-watch while you nosh. My boyfriend loves grabbing a couple of slices (with a drink for a quarter more) while I usually stroll over to Pepperdock for a burger. We take our goodies, meet in the middle and eat down by the water... it's quite pleasant.

  • Tim M.

Over priced beer and okay pizza but its sooo fun in the summer with its large outdoor seating! Grab a bucket of corona and a slice and enjoy the people watching and you will come back :)

  • Tom T.

I think people are a little generous with their stars for Slices. If they had a finite number of Yelping stars to give away, I think people would take some back!!! Is that why I'm being harsh with only 2 here? To counteract the rave reviewing that is taking place? I don't think so. I really think I've had much better. First off, I've had much better pizza just in West Seattle. Yeah it's cheap, but I'm not some high school kid that brought my thumping sound system of a car from Renton out to the beach and want a three dollar piece of 'za. No, I expect a little better. So I'll skip it, and go to Pegasus. Or Pizza 22, or Talricos off of Alki. Its just cheap pizza, nothing wow about it. If it was a dollar a slice and a dollar per beer, maybe I'd be jumping up and down. And secondly, I think you have to do much better to create a cool atmosphere then have a wooden deck out on Alki Ave, and throw some buckets of cheap beer at people int he sunshine. Living in the Alki neighborhood year round, I look for places that are going to peak my dining interest and social drinking nature all 365 days of the year. Not the spots that cater only to the May-September crowd. What are your winter hours? Is your place somewhere I really want to go and sit for a while in November? Are we pouring beer, and into the late hours? Other places on Alki do, but not Slices. Do I hate this place? No. Would I go back, sure. If I want crap pizza and don't want to shell out money for decent food one day (and they're open), maybe I'd stop in. Am I some Slices FANatic? Obviously not.

    (2)
  • Maria B.

Great location - awesome beer prices - who cares about the service (since you have to pay before you eat/sit). If you want to see the beauty of Alki beach, get a bucket of cold beer for a great price and eat good pizza...SLICES is the place!

Something about the entire experience of sitting outside, enjoying the beach, and smelling pizza ovens hard at work makes this place deserve a sixth star reserved specifically for those establishments that induce a wonderfully intense nostalgia while simultaneously rocking at what they do. To some, the concept of pizza and beer might be a little to 'duh' for them to really believe that anything truly special can come out of the pairing, but I would recommend trying to spend a sunny day on the 'Slices' deck without wearing a smile from ear to ear. The pizza itself is very close to the best think crust I've ever experienced, and again, I do credit this largely to ambiance. It's so obvious with every bite that they are using ingredients that they, too, would want to find on their own dinner, and the crust is the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. Fresh parmesan is taken seriously as well, which is mildly amusing, yet totally necessary and appreciated. The only thing that didn't totally wow me was the sauce that was used but when made fresh, it will differ daily and I'm certainly going to go back and see if that makes a difference. It isn't just about the pizza - which is great - or the beer - which is always great... It's about the beach and the sun and the way you feel when you cross the bridge into Alki. Sitting in Greenwood, Alki seems like it's a world away, but I never regret the drive once I'm there, and Slices is a perfect example of a two hour vacation in the making.

I love going to Slices. The only downside to this place is finding parking on Alki Beach. It's difficult to make great food without a solid foundation and, for me, it's the crust that really makes or breaks a pizza; Slices has a great crust and interesting toppings that work. Although I eat their regular pizza, I enjoy trying their daily specials. The people who work there are great. I've never had any problems with them and they've always gone out of their way to help. On warning though, the food is so good that you should expect a line.

  • Erin G.

Great location. Very mediocre pizza. Hardly any seating inside. The girl serving us was very courteous though. Where else can you go for slices in this area though?

    (2)
  • Brad F.

For the price and location you can't go wrong. 20$ pizza that's huge and any toppings you want, yummy toppings. Bucket of beer is 5 coronas for 15$. Our family perched on the front porch for 2 hours on this beautiful day.

  • Cheryl R.

A great place to hang out and chill out. Especially if the weather is nice and you can park it out on their very ample patio. Have a few slices of their pretty darn tasty thin-crust pizza, a cold beer or three, all while enjoying the ever-awesome people watching along Alki. Not a shabby way to spend a sunny day in West Seattle.

    (4)
  • Dan L.

Grab A few buckets of beer and maybe a few slices, then go find a premo spot on the patio, and enjoy! Slices is our go-to stop when longboarding Alki. It is in a great location with a great view. We usually park somewhere near the Active Space right after you get off the bridge and onto Harbor Ave. From there it's a little over 3 miles to Slices. The first mile or so is sidewalks, but when you get to the blacktop its pretty smooth rolling. Slices can get pretty damn busy during the summer months so keep that in mind.

  • Beau R.

We stopped here for lunch while spending the day on Alki with some out of town guests. They offer several choices of pizza by the slice, good sized slices too on a thin crust. You order at the counter and can sit inside at a few seats or outside at tables and watch the world go by (which on a sunny day at Alki, can be quite pleasant to watch). If you want a whole pizza, they'll do that too. Its a flat price $20 with no pre-fabricated menu choices. Total freedom of pizza. Which, can be somewhat disconcerting, too. So come prepared. They also had great fresh lemonade, sweetened with agave nectar. It was nice on a hot day, but what really tilted my taste towards the lemonade instead of diving into the the bucket of beer, was that the woman behind the counter told the previous customer that she made it herself, that morning. They also strive to purchase as many of their ingredients locally. While its not clear how much of that they are actually able to do, its still a noble cause. If you're looking for a fast lunch, a walking lunch or even a good spot to sit and drink some beers, Slices on Alki gets my vote.

    (4)
  • Lynda S.

Medicore pizza at best, too long of a wait for just mediocre. I commend the staff, as they're doing their best with the layout and set-up of the place. This place would sell 4 times as many beverages if they had a 'beverage only' line! It sucks to have to wait in line for 20 minutes for 1 slice of pizza and beer and then have to get back into the same line for more beverages. The long wait is due to the re-heating of the pizza which just slows down the entire process. Management should definitely consider a 'beverage only' line on weekends at least. Their profit margin would shoot through the roof!

  • Neera J.

Slices on Alki is truly awesome. We were visiting Seattle for the weekend and happened upon it, worried it would be just an average beachside pizza joint. We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing pizza that lay inside! The crust is very interesting - flaky and unusual. Our favorite slice was salami with pickled banana peppers - there were some fennel seeds on there that really took it over the top!! They also shred fresh parmesan on top, which is delicious! The owner was there, and seems to be trying new and interesting things. The location is great - overlooking the beach. Its really not your average pizza - on our last day in Seattle we needed to grab food before hopping on the plane. We couldn't resist returning for some delicious pizza!! Thanks, Slices!!

  • Carla F.

I'm not much a fan of the idea of pizza slices in general, unless you know how fresh the pies are out of the oven. Not to worry, every time I've been at Slices I have seen piping hot pies every 10-15 minutes. They serve some really good combos: salami/pepperoni/pepperoncini, tomato/arugula, pesto margherita, to name a few. If you'd like a whole pie ready and waiting after you finish your volleyball games, call ahead. When you arrive, find a table facing the beach, kick your feet up, and enjoy your pizza with a view!

First, I just want to say that we have been here several times, and always with the same result - excellence! We usually come with a huge group and the service is excellent, especially given the nature of serving a huge group. We came for my Mom's wedding rehearsal dinner, my brother's birthday, and something else that I can't remember. Each time, we were treated exceptionally well - they set up the place to accommodate our huge group - they gave us an entire side of the outdoor seating area for my Mom's dress rehearsal, and they set up a table for gifts and gave us the entire north side of the indoor seating area for my brother's birthday. The service was timely and helpful - the owners are truly enthusiastic about their business and their products. I thoroughly enjoy this business, and I recommend you try them out!

It's in a cute bungalow house w/ an outdoor patio. Pizza was just average. Thin crust and chewy. The best thing about it was their big TV showing the Olympics.

Great vibe inside, owner is really nice. Thin slices are fresh and delicious, flaky crust. The lemonade is homemade (water, lemon, agave) which I highly recommend. Plenty of wood patio outdoor seating facing Alki beach boardwalk.

We live just down the street and have been here many times. I don't think we have ever had a bad experience here. Great slices and a simple caesar salad that satisfies every time. The staff are cool and pleasant and the owners are there from time to time (they also own Ampersand coffee next door) and they are very friendly and welcoming.

Slices, you have my heart. I absolutely adore everything about this place - good pizza, relaxed & beachy vibe, buckets of beer, all outdoor seating & a ton of it, sand, vegetarian friendly, lovely patio across from the beach with an unobstructed view of the puget sound, fresh & organic & local produce, and sustainable serverware. I think the word 'fresh' aptly describes their food - the veggie toppings are fresh, they put fresh oregano on their pizzas, they make their own roasted peppers, and their salad has romaine lettuce (none of that weird white iceberg stuff). The red pizza sauce is super good - really fresh & full of flavor. I'm not so keen on their white garlic sauce, and would recommend sticking with traditional. There were quite a few different pre-made pizza to choose slices from, and the board of toppings to pick for a custom whole pizza had a lot of variety & interesting toppings (pesto, goat cheese, & more yummyness).

two slices of hand tossed pizza and a beer for $9? on alki? with great outdoor beach front seating? sign me up! **cheap shot** beats the heck outta over priced burnt nachos and the worst mojito known to man down at el chupacabra! (or what ever that place is called)

Slices is a quaint boutique style pizza place on Alki beach. The deck is one of the best on the beach strip with great views. The pizza is delicious with greek style choices with goat cheese and olives as some of the toppings. They have them in a display case that they warm up in a pizza oven once you pick your perfect slice. The crust is that of a pastry style and a crust that is now my favorite. I am not one to eat the rest of the crust but I finished mine and others. You have to try the rooster sauce if you love hot sauce. It is $5 if you love it and I stocked up on it for my house. The owner makes all the pizzas as it is his speciality. They have Pellegrino and house made lemonade, limeade, wine, and beer! I just love this spot in Alki and would recommend it to anyone!

  • James W.

Ive eaten here twice and both times the pizza has been very blah. I thought I'd try it a 3rd time since I live on Alki and didn't want to leave my area plus it had been a long time since I had eaten there. Stood in line way too long just to get a slice of pizza. Ended up walking out. Don't ever go to this lame ass place. Your business shouldn't survive just by location alone, your pizza should be legit as well.

I don't write reviews very often, but felt I should for this place. They have really thin crust pizza that I found delicious. My family split an entire pie for lunch. You can get any number of toppings on it for $20. We had homemade sausage and goat cheese on the whole pie with mushrooms and pesto also on half of it. We sat out on the sunny deck and enjoyed a beautiful day. It was definitely not really filling but very flavorful. I think we will go back again the next time we are in the Alki beach area. They have beer as well as soda and the deck is really nice to sit on in the rare sunny March afternoon.

This place was so nice to see Alki beach with beer. And server was so kind. Outside was proper to enjoy sunshine and have comfortable chair and table. But price was a little bit higher than another place. I think it is located near beach. When you play at Alki beach, here is good place to take rest with drink.

We walked down to Alki to do the people-watching thing and enjoy the best of a Seattle summer. The grub options on Alki, where it's more about scenery and beachfront adventure, are not as appealing as they are on California Ave down in the Junction so we settled on Slices near the end of the stroll. It's definitely charming with its deck, plentiful outdoor seating and the low slung single story shack where you order. Prices are fairly cheap. We got 2 veggie slices and a bottle of water for $8.25. A pitcher of beer went for $16.50. But since my SO doesn't drink, I'm not sure if that's reasonable or not. Although the staff are friendly, we weren't given clear direction on where to wait for them to heat up the slices so the waitress ended up bringing them out to us (we sat on deck facing the ocean) lukewarm. The slices were sitting in a display case out front so we knew they weren't fresh to begin with. The crust is definitely good being fans of thin crust to begin with. The toppings were minimal which we also didn't mind. But the fact that the pizza wasn't fresh lost this place a star. Nice place to have a beer with a light snack and watch tourists and locals alike watch each other.

Okay, so I walk by a lot of places when going to and from work, I usually end up stopping at Pepperdock because I get home so late that in the non-summer months most everything is closed when I walk by (even in downtown Seattle which I find odd). But today, I was a little ahead of myself and so I stopped at the Urban Market for a beer, and then just kept heading for home thinking it's time for another TV dinner. But what, I am early enough that Slice's is still open. Now I had been tempted to go before, but if I thought about it, I didn't have any form of payment with me, or it was closed. But tonight, the owner is getting ready to close as I walk by and I ask if they are still open... He jokes for 30 more seconds, I pretend to run for the door in slow motion, and we both joke that as soon as I got to the door I was too late. I walk in, I look at the pizza, they are down to the bare minimums, but I see pepperoni and I see cheese pizza, and one unidentified because I am getting old and my vision isn't that good, and I didn't feel like asking. I originally ask for one slice of pepperoni, but decide to live a little and order two instead (one would have been enough, since I now have a second piece sitting in my fridge - yay dinner tomorrow). He offers to heat it, but I still have at least 5 more blocks to walk home and it's cold, so I told him I would heat it when I got home. He let's me know about other menu items and gives me a sneak hint they'll be adding lasagna to the menu. I let him know that sounds good, but it can't beat mine, and let him know I use 8 cheeses, this intrigues him so we may do a throw down......... I pay for my pizza, not bad, about $6 for both pieces which combined are probably bigger than anything I can order for delivery at twice the price, and I head on home..... Pop it in the microwave to warm it up past room temperature.... Flavors are good, crust is soft in the middle but crunchy on the edges (which I love), sauce is not overbearing, peperoni's are tasty but not heartburn spicy... Best pizza I have had in Seattle, ever..... Only reason it doesn't get a 5, I have had better pizza, ironically at a place in Pleasanton CA, but 4 stars is at least 2 stars better than I can give to anywhere else in the Seattle area!

Small place with a LARGE deck overlooking Alki. Popped in here for a slice while walking the dog during a sunny, February Saturday. Slices are $3.25 (seems a bit high to me) and are thin crust. The sauce wasn't anything special, but the crust was good. They also will grate fresh Parmesan over your pizza for you which is a nice touch. It was nice to sit on the deck and people watch. They also offer full pies and some sandwiches along with soft drink and beer options.

Great NY style pizza. The crust is nice and (somewhat) thin, and has the perfect amount of crisp to it. Not to mention it is hard to beat the location... They are right on Alki and have a fab section with patio seating.

Slices is a great East Coast meets West Coast kind of place. It's a traditional East Coast slice place but it looks like a SoCal Beach shack with outdoor seating, beer in buckets and sand surrounding the tables. The owner is from Boston and takes some serious pride in his slices(I've seen him point at Red Sox hat and tell people that's why he makes good thin crust). There's no set menu because they're making fresh pizzas all day and they'll just put whatever they have out in the case. The plain cheese, the veggie, sausage and Hawaiian are all really good. They have good deals on buckets of beer or a two slice and beer combo for 8 bucks( I think).

A completely pleasant surprise. The pizzas here are fresh, tasty and were hot. I was totally not expecting it given the look of this 'shack' This is a great place to come for great simple food and sit out on their balcony and take in Alki beach. Good deals for $6-ish which is two slices (which are massive, each slice is about the size of your face) + a can of soda. Perfect for a cheap eat on a date. One toilet, but it was clean. parking on the street outside.

OK, let's start with the fact that Alki food generally sucks. It's a crime. Arguably, the best views in all of Seattle and some of its most mediocre food offerings, too. Typical resort and state fair food rules in Alki. There are a few exceptions and Slices is DEFINITELY one of them. The new owners have built a nice deck where the silly sand pit used to be. So, now we can dine al dente. Next to the new deck with killer views of Puget Sound is a small organic garden where Slices is growing veggies they plan to use in-house. Fantastic. As for the pizza, it's light and airy crust has just a bit of outer crunch for a pleasant beach-y chow-down. They use fresh mozzarella and basil on their pizza margherita. The ample but not overdone cheese sits on one of Seattle's better pizza sauces. The sauce is all-natural and made in-house, so said my server. Speaking of service, ours was fast and courteous and they tended to any missteps immediately and apologetically. Much appreciated in these days of crap service. I might give SLICES 3.5 stars (if I could) but they get 4 because they're bending over backward to be green, using organics and compostable plastic cups as well as composting/recycling all paper and compostables, among other things. Also, while some lame-brained restos in the area refuse to seat skaters and bladers (HELLO, this is Seattle's biggest sea-front PLAYGROUND!!!), Slices happily serves everyone wearing shirts, bottoms and something on their feet :-) Slices is the ONLY restaurant on Alki I'd actually drive from Capital Hill to go to FOR THE FOOD and the view.

Not a huge pizza fan, so I'm always happy to see a pizza place that offers something more. Slices does - wonderful soup! Fresh ingredients, hand made and yummy. Nice option on a cool day.

This is a great place to relax outside while enjoying well-priced beer and decent pizza. It's awesomely located on Alki strip where it's perfect for soaking in the Summer sun and experiencing the sights and sounds of Alki Beach. The real estate here is prime, the service is good and the staff can be funny and entertaining. However, the pizza is nothing to write home about; It's thin crust pizza that's greasy and on the salty side, which causes you to want to order more beer. Be sure to buy a bucket of beer after some pizza. I think the owners of this place have figured it out! :)

I've been asking people on the beach what they thought of Slices since it opened but I never ventured in. So the first time I went (last weekend) they didn't have their credit card machine operational and I didn't have any cash. Aside from that, there were only three types of pizza on the racks and those pizzas looked, well, sad. I went back today, still no cash, but their credit card machine was in. There were two kinds of pizza on the racks this time and, again, they were looking sad so I opted to wait for a new cheese pizza to come out of the oven. All I have to say is pretty dinky slices for nearly $3 each. They offer a special, 2 slices of any pizza and a soda for $6 but it's wasn't special to me. The hair on my pizza, which wasn't mine, didn't make my experience better. Pegasus is the place to go on the beach for pizza.

Headed out to Alki this Saturday with some friends. After attempted good old fashion beach tanning and walking around the gorgeous area known as Alki for God knows how long, we got hungry. Now, around Alki, you've got cheap-ass food high-class food. We went the cheap-ass route. Which this is. Cheap yet good. $9 for two ginormous slices of pizza and a bottle of beer. Plenty of outdoor seating for watching the sunset and the melting pot of people that flock to Alki on a HOT Summer day. They've also got Garlic Powder for you to put on your pizza. I'm not going to give them an extra star, but I hate the lack of GP at most pizza places. Good job, Slices, I'm a fan!

Took an out-of-town friend here to enjoy the view and have a bucket of local micro beers. They don't have a huge selection, but what they have is good and reasonably priced. One bucket turned into two buckets when another friend showed up. I had a slice of pie, as well, which was not the best I've had but worth the price. I'll go back, for sure.

Pleasant surprise! The Hawaiian pizza didn't look like much, but it was SO good! I don't know what they put in the sauce but it was sort of sweet, and it's possible they added crack... So yummy. I'm not a thin crust person, but it was flakey and good! We got two slices and one pop for like $6? Good deal!

My favorite Beach hangout! My 4 year old son and I like to hit up Slices a couple of times a week. The Cheese pizza is delicious thin-crusted and seasoned to damn near perfection. Some of their more adventurous pizzas for adults are kind of a 50/50 BUT here's why Slices is SO great. Go there (w/ or without a kid), sit on their large patio on a sunny day, drink a beer and eat a light delicious pizza while watching the surf, diverse array of weirdos walking by and breathing in a smooth salt water breeze. Add to that, they play solid tunes, are family friendly and very pleasant to talk to and never irritable.

So, what to say about Slices. Well, they sell pizza by the slice. Since most of the time it's just me and my wife going, this works perfectly for us. They have a great location for outdoor seating, though I wish they'd install a canopy over part of the deck so that people have a shady place to go. The pizza is decent, though I wish they had a bit more variety. Overall, it's a great place to sit by the beach and enjoy a couple of slices of pizza and a frosty beer.

Pizza is a passion. I haven't had "delivered" pizza in at least 20 years. Yuck. But sometimes when walking on Alki, I want a fast, inexpensive bite to eat. This pizza is simple and good. It is fast and a great value. Kudos.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! What a great place to stop by,grab a beer and a couple of slices and just enjoy! Crust was flaky and thin. Toppings were fresh, plentiful and unique. I had the goatcheese leaks and preserved lemon pizza. Not a bad thing to say about it at all. Plus the conversation with the staff is a plus. Great people, awesome food and a good time!

They have a garden near their porch where you eat their fresh fresh food on a great thin crust. Yum. Yum. Yum. The view is nice too

Like the convenience of the location and able to order a slice at a time. The pizza is ok, maybe a little better than ok. I've heard that the pizza used to be great but they changed the recipe. The meatball sub wasn't ok. And the price was way too high for what you get. Stick with the pizza. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location, have been back many times.

I had a bad vibe about this place for awhile- but after walking down to Alki on a recent hot and sunny afternoon, and desiring a snack, I took a chance and stopped in with my honey. Two slices and a can of soda was $6-something, or you could sub a brewski for $9-something. I was pleasantly surprised by the crispy, thin crust, and good selection of pizzas. Loved the offer of freshly shredded parm. They were a little shy with the CB and P on the CB&P, but it was still good. I will definintely be back for some pizza and excellent people watching on their deck.

I like this place; they have some nice touches. I like how they will grind fresh parmesan over your sliced pizza, and there are some gourmet options to choose from. Add some dried red chiles, and it makes for a nice little meal. With a lot of overpriced food nearby in Alki, this place feels like a nice bargain. The cook was nice and social as well during kind of a slower period in his day. I'll definitely be going back for some pre-volleyball game meals at Alki this summer.

When I first read all of the reviews for this place on yelp I was excited. I hopped in my car and went right down and purchased two slices. After having been there I have to wonder... Is somebody paying you people to write these reviews or are you all friends of the owner? I am not even kidding, because after having been to Slices, I can't see any other reason for the positive reviews. This is not a New York style pizza. Just because a pizza is thin does not mean that it is a new york style. My main complaint is the consistancy of the dough; or lack there of, to be more specific. This bread has no backbone, it is about as flimsy as a paper towel and mimics the flavor. But the disapointment continues; the sauce is run of the mill, not bad but not good either, and the toppings are cheap. Seattle is the only place I have been to in which my favorite pizza comes from a chain restaurant. But for my money Pagliacci's makes the best pizza that I have found. And I am going to stick with them till I find something better. Sorry slices.

Any negative reviews on here should be disregarded. Slices has new owners/operaters and they have only been operating the place since the beginning of April of 2009. I went in there today for the first time(since the last owners) and was very happy at what I saw. The service was very prompt, and it turns out that both owners Chris and his chef friend Daryl run the place- which means their service is AWESOME and I got to find out all the info on their pizza's. Jennifer (Chris' girlfriend) is a vegetarian and there are tons of both "regular" and original choices of pizza, But don't worry- they don't only cater to us veggie lovers! They use all organic meat's and hand made sausage to create their wonderful pies. And boy, do they know what their doing. Chris, Is from Boston (and we all know that east-coasters know their pizza) and has sampled all the competitions pizza to ensure his is the best. And he's not just some Joe schmo, in his spare time (HA!) he is a chef at a hotel downtown. This man knows how to make some dang good pizza. As you can tell I found out a lot about this place from the short time I was there! And for the icing on the cake, they are very earth conscious making sure all their customers are recycling their garbage and that they use only biodegradable products. So rad. I can't wait to go back.

Tasty pizza, fair value, keepin' it simple with choices and decor. Ideal location, great deck for people watching, sipping a cold one (corona w/lime please)....and catching rays. If you have young kids, you'll appreicate the outdoor "flooring" ...its sand. My kids enjoy playing in the sand (especially with the Tonka trucks) in the kid-section. The outdoor sand/ primo beach location combo is spot on and adds to an authentic bootstrap pizza joint....and a relaxing time. Oh, yea....Slices added Husky's ice cream last year . (Call me a Capitalist, but I personally Iove how they are chipping aways at Pepperdocks who had the only ice cream on Alki for years!)

Delicious. Pizza. The new (well, I think it has been a year now) owners are chefs and it shows. Laid back. Really cool staff/owners. Would love a vegan pizza option, but they appear to be pizza purists and I can respect that. They conscientiously source their ingredients (high quality, cruelty free). I also love their homeade limeade with agave. Try it! Bring your dogs and kids... great outdoor tables for them.
