Very good beer and pretty average food. We got the sampler: IPA, Hefeweizen, Apricot, Porter, and an Amber. All of the beers were tasty, and having 5 small glasses of beer to split among two people is a fun deal. I think that the Apricot ale is smooth and unique and kind of sets Pyramid apart. I've personally always been more of a Widmer Hefeweizen fan, but, Pyramid is right up there. All of the beer was fun, and my girlfriend enjoyed it. Going here made us want to hit up Rock Bottom and maybe The Ram for a little bit of a sampler tour. : ) As far as food goes, I think that the McMenamin's chain is a small step above Pyramid. I got the salmon burger and my girlfriend got the bacon burger. Both seemed a little bit bland in my opinion...not too spicy or saucy. The fries and salad were good though. The next time we go back we'll try the beers not included in the sampler including the "gold medal" winning amber.

I came here on a Mariner's game day beforehand to enjoy some good food & beer with my fiance, however left quite disappointed. We entered and asked for seating and were told by the hostess to "pick a spot." We sort of scooted around the crowds and made our way upstairs to find an open table. Never having been here before we were unaware that this section was special seating. Once the waiter/shift manger (?) came to our table he informed us that he had every right to "kick us out any other day" for coming into the restricted area. He however was going to be gracious enough to let us stay. WTH! The entire seating problem wouldn't have bothered me as much had the food been anywhere near good or decently priced IMO. I feel our visit could've been greatly enhanced had the initial misunderstanding been handled with some courtesy or warmth. Needless to say we WON'T be coming back. There are endless more options for great food & great service in Seattle.

The location is great! Plus we actually got to park in their lot. We asked for seating outside and were directed in that direction. I sat down next to the manager and president of the Seahawks (although I didn't know it was them until my fiance came back from the restroom and said with a smile "do you know who that is?"). We were having fun being in the company of these two gentlemen, but after 15 minutes in the cold and still no acknowledgment from a server we decided to move inside. After moving inside we noticed several other patrons eating outside experiencing this same level of service. One person even came inside to complain.. When inside we received better service. Before ordering I glanced at the kitchen and saw some fish and chips that looked very tasty. I decided to change my order to the fish and chips and that's exactly what I got. Unfortunately it was the same fish and chips that had been sitting under the heat lamp since before I ordered. I confirmed this by tasting the coleslaw, which by this time was as warm as the fries (yuk!). Even being that old the fish and chips were pretty delicious. After eating, we were presented with our check, which we have a bad habit of not looking at until after our card is charged. I noticed that we were charged $5 for something we did not order. It took at least 10 minutes for our server to be within sight again to correct the issue. This bad review is based on the lack of service, old food, and check discrepancies.

The apricot ale is mouth watering. You can smell and taste the apricot!

For all intents and purposes, Pyramid Alehouse is great for what it is - a place to hang out before the game. It's got a great location across from the stadiums, so game day can definitely turn into mayhem but I would imagine that on any given night of the week, this warehouse turned restaurant is probably pretty dead. The waitstaff is always friendly and efficient.. they never complain when you steal empty chair or two and crowd more people around your table. The beer is good - it's not my favorite, but they do serve pitchers which is definitely a win for me. The menu is good, but it's not gourmet by any definition. I think one of the other reviewers said it best - lots of Sysco packaged product and not a lot of exciting flavors. As expected, with the amount of people there on a game day, the quality of the food does suffer a bit as i'm sure it turns into a bit of an assembly line back there, just cranking out burgers and fish and chips as fast as humanly possible. But, come here on an off night and the fish and chips can be pretty good and my friend swears by the turkey burger. I feel like I should knock an additional star off simply because they don't offer those amazing rosemary garlic fries anymore, but I won't.. In summary, it's a convenient and decent place to throw a few back before the game and I promise the beer here is half as expensive as it is in the stadiums!

Was there last night before the Sounders game...... It was slammed. Had a 45 minute wait for a table. Food is consistently good and server (Lindsey) made an effort of getting us in & out in time for the game. Prices are good and they have a good selection of beers. Draight beers are five bucks. Burgers and sandwiches are around $10. I'm sure it's just cause of the crowds- but the bartender was one surly ASSHOLE. Hey man- I'm just trying to buy a beer. Don't mean mug me just cause you're busy. I hope to go back and try this place out again when a game is not in session. I'm sure it's a different experience.

Decent pizza, great beer. The Amber Ale is delicious. Got half pepperoni half ham/pineapple - cooked perfectly - tasteful use of herbs. Tours daily at 4pm Ask for a beer sample

A great place to hang out after a game for an ice cold beer or two, but don't come here expecting spectacular food. The apricot ale is pretty good, and they have a good selection of beers. The food, however, is of your typical bar food fare: burgers and stuff like nachos and garlic fries. I tried their fish and chips, and it was okay. It's not the best, but I've definitely had better. Would I come here again? Most likely not, as I'd rather go to Taphouse in downtown Bellevue for beer and actually pretty decent food.

Fun and casual, Pyramid offers a tasting tour or tasting in their bar / restaurant. We decided to sit outside and do a sampler of 7 beers with accompanying tasting notes. $7 - nice. I normally only drink darker beers because lighter beers tend to be too sweet for my tastes, however all of their beers are nicely balanced, even tending to be slightly bitter. We also ate - Veggie burger with side salad. Nothing to write home about, but solid. They had plenty of traditional bar food to choose from (nachos, wings, pizza, burgers, etc.). Service was average at best, but as expected.

Love the apricot ale... Their calamari is super meaty and long strips with this awesome sauce that was heaven. I liked the boneless chicken tenders, but I was under the impression they were buffalo coated, so was disappointed when they came out plain with hot honey mustard sauce. The waitress kindly brought buffalo sauce for me. The garlic rosemary french fries were great but a tad too salty. Service was slow, but it was a ballgame night, so to be expected!

On my fantastic brewery tour of Seattle one of our stops was at the Pyramid Brewing Co. I would have to say that this was my least favorite of the breweries we stopped at. Take a look at some of my other reviews to see where we went. We just ate nachos and those were kind of lame. I had the 5 beer flight and I would say that the best one was the apricot beer. Which I can get anywhere... This place feels too much like a restaurant chain and it lacks excitement. I would imagine you don't need anything too amazing in a location like that (across the street from the baseball stadium).

The food is typical bar grub... and it's mediocre. The beer is ah-ight. I can't get down with their Hefe or Apricot Ale because I hate fruit in my beer! The beer garden is a cool hang out spot if you're looking to pre-funk before a Mariners or Seahawks game - but if there were other outdoor options, trust me, I'd be there!

I was taken to an M's game on a first date with a chap a few months back. We got a little drunk and (since we were winning and were in the eighth), decided to take a stroll. Ended up at the Pyramid and got more drunk. The Apricot brew was really good...and strong. I think the food was good but was a little wasted so I'm not going on record or anything! The waitress was awesome...that I do remember clearly!! I'd recommend coming here before or after a game mostly because I think the staff is used to slightly or overly sloshed seasonal fans!

I went to the Alehouse with some coworkers before a Tuesday night Mariner's Game; we got there about 2 hours before the opening pitch and were able to grab a table upstairs. There were a couple of tvs up there and a view of the brewing equipment. Since it was a game night they only offered a portion of their regular menu, which was disappointing but still had a slew of options including nachos, salads, and a sausage platter my coworker liked. The highlight was really the beer, I enjoyed the apricot seasonal, but we again were disappointed with the plastic cups. Location near the ball park and draft beer is really the key.

Average menu, over-dressed salads and terrible customer service. The restaurant is OK, nothing special, but nice and close to Safeco if you are pre-funking before a game. The beers are decent as well. I will tip my cap to them for being a Seattle micro-brew original. I'd give the restaurant 2 stars... The 1 star comes from an absolutely terrible experience I had with buying a keg. I run an event space / company and we need beer pre-Seahawks/Mariner/Sounders games to quench the thirst of our customers. We were using Pyramid because it was so darn convenient. Problem is that when I held onto a shell for too long, they charged my card $100+ without calling me. I brought the shell back, apologized that it had been in the kegerator for over a month and asked for my deposit back. The person working the cash register said they can't do that. I insisted on talking to a manger, who also refused to give me back my deposit. "Isn't a deposit paid to ensure that property is returned? Here is your property, I want my money back." Sorry I was told. I said, that since I had bought the shell, I would be taking that then. They said no, that is our property I have to leave it behind. I couldn't believe it. At the time I told them I would never buy another keg from Pyramid. Since then we have gone through approximately 80 kegs. I am happy to say that Georgetown Brewing company has been a pleasure to work with and they always call to let me know a shell has been out too long, I bring it back and there are no issues. Don't buy your kegs here, if they give you the kind of customer service I received, you will very much regret it!

NOTE: I have yet to participate in the brewery tour. Pyramid Alehouse is great because it does not try to be anything its not. With that said, I feel the same about all of these brew places that serve food: the food isn't great. Not terrible, but not great. If the beers that Pyramid produced were a notch better, I would rate the place 3 stars - but they aren't. CONCLUSION: If you want to grab a consistently average lunch with a group of friends/co-workers/family AND wish to wash down it down with a watery, sub-par beer - THIS is your place.

Been here a few times over the years for lunch only including today. Seems to be good. Never had an opportunity to try the beer but would like to. Had the cobb salad which was chock full of bacon, egg and chicken like it should be.

  • Kris P.

I love this place, but I was disappointed that they didn't have one single cold sandwich.... so I went with the Cobb salad. I forgot to ask for my salad to be chopped and tossed. But they took it right back into the kitchen and did that for me. Most places won't do that, because it's already been placed in front of you... but, they did it. Our service was great, fast and attentive. We will be back again.

Cool place to check out, especially if you have a group or are planning on hitting up a mariner's game! The food is decent tasting, however nothing wow-ing or special. Your basic pub food. Don't bother getting special drinks here, it ain't worth it...You are at a brewery, drink their beer! I went with a fairy large group, so be sure to call ahead and make reservations. We were all pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were to our party of 14!

Maybe it's because I didn't have to pay for my meal, but this was one of the best burgers I've had in a while! Came here today for lunch with a group of about 12, but we got split up into two tables since they were really busy. I ordered the Pyramid burger which was really good. Juicy burger with tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, onions, melted cheese, and pickles and comes with a side of fries and a couple onion rings. I was so full after my burger that I didn't even touch the fries or the onion rings! I also got the apricot pyramid on draft which was perfect to complete my meal! The service was really good considering how busy the place was, but parking is really hectic especially an hour or so before the game. It's a great place to grab lunch if you're watching a day game at Safeco since food and drinks inside the stadium can cost a LOT of $$$. I would make sure you call ahead to make a reservation and come here early enough to beat the crowd since it can get really loud and busy.

This is the perfect place to be in before a Mariners game. The beer is really good and I really developed a taste for the Audacious Apricot beer. Had some garlic fries along with the beer and we were all happy campers before the Mariners game!

Went here again just the other day, had to use a groupon, so it wasn't game day and again we had crappy service. What gives? Its like they pull any random monkey off the street and make them servers..... But man come gameday, its a prime spot

Review based on pre-gaming before Mariner's games. Came once to the Pyramid beer garden four years ago, and then again recently and was happy both times. Good natured crowd and the food shack makes decent fair for a lot less than ballpark prices. If you can squeeze in there is ladderball and cornhole to play as well. Wish other teams had this sort of setup so close the the ballpark.

I love to go to the beer garden in the summer before an M's game. I always seem to run into some fellow WSU alumni, it never fails! I look forward to their salads, beer samplers and copper bar tops each time I eat inside. People seem to order the salmon and fish and chips over and over again, too. It can get a teensy bit crowded in the summer. Ok, a lot crowded, but that is not anything Pyramid can help - they are just that cool.

Pyramid is an OK landmark where you can meet your friends before a ballgame or before a show at Showbox SoDo. The beers are generally really good and they have pitchers which is a huge win in my book. The beer garden outside before the Mariners games can be really fun but then it can also turn a corner and fill up with chuckleheads really quickly if you don't watch out. The food is OK -- it's all super buttery and fatty and tastes really good while you're eating it, and then later you're like "why did I eat all that heavy food?" The service is generally efficient and cordial -- the waitresses are super flirty with guys and the waiters all seem to want to bro down with you. The weird part is that when there's not a game, the place SHUTS DOWN. We have walked in at 8:45pm before and the hostess was wincing when we asked for a table -- apparently some nights they close at 9pm (which is fine, we just didn't know). I would call ahead of time to see when they close. Better yet, I would only go before a game or a concert. And I would eat somewhere else before I went there. With food, it also ends up being bizarrely pricey for what you get.

A favorite after work stop! Friendly staff, great beer deals Monday $5 growler refill, Tues. free pint glass as long as it's not a game day. Overall satisfying bar fare. No complaints from me on this place and it's only a 2 minute walk from work!

Stopped in before a Mariners game.. Had the diablo burger. Burger was good service was good. My waitress was friendly and pleasant! Overall good experience would recommend. I'm not a drinker so I can't comment on the beer selection!

I love this place for a lot of reasons.. When you are downtown in the SODO district for a M's or Hawks game you should stop by for a beer. Great happy hour, and a great atmosphere, but they are always pretty busy and service is a little slower than most places. Makes your experience tough to enjoy. I had a waitress who kept walking by me and a friend during the Seahawks draft party. Given they were quite busy, she still just kept walking by us like we weren't there. Still had a good time, just wish we were treated a bit better. Food was just ok! For the style of place and being one of the premier spots in the SODO to get food and drinks, the food should be a bit better. It is not terrible, it is just okay. I am not one to usually complain about a place, but my experience just was not great. Hope that was just the waitress we had and not the way they do business.

  • Clint W.

I'm with Terrell on this. Don't come for the food. Don't come for the atmosphere. It's location and beer. I've been here a few times and the food wasn't very good, it was tough to get served and it's hard to find places to even talk. These were nights that there weren't even events going on in the area. It's a just a place to land before an M's game. That's about it.

Pyramid is a good place to go for some drinks & bar food after work if you work around SODO, or grab some drinks in their outdoor beer garden before a game at Qwest or Safeco. Their happy hour isn't really all that good ($4 for a pint and 30% off appetizers) but it is what it is. They do have awesome beers, so that's the prime reason to go. The majority of the food is typical bar food. My favorite dish to get is the pizza rolls (on the appetizer menu). The bread/crust is soft and sprinkled with lots of herbs, there is a ton of melted gooey cheese inside, and the dipping marinara sauce is actually quite good with lots of flavor & it has a nice spicy kick. The cheese quesadilla, nachos, & garlic fries are average. Nothing special about the quesadilla, but nothing bad other than the fact that it's plain. The nachos don't have a great topping to chip ratio, aka way too many chips and way too little cheese/beans, but it's served with a good guacamole. The garlic doesn't stick very well to the fries, so it's more like fries and then you have to use a fork to get the garlic attached to your fry. I really purposely choose to come here, but there is a general lack of places in SODO for after-work events so it's first choice by default. The trivia night on Wednesdays is a lot of fun with good prizes, there is a ton of seating because they have 2 levels, and there is a patio for sunny seattle days.

Pyramid is conveniently located across the street from Safeco Field. I have only been to Pyramid for a pre-game drink. Their beer garden is fun and generally pretty crowded, but they have a good selection of beers to choose from for those who can drink beer. For those of us who are gluten-free, you can choose between white and red wine to drink. The beer garden is not family friendly and you must be 21 to enter.

Stopped by here before the Mariners game on a Friday. It is located right outside of SafeCo field. Good starters spot and on game days they have "Beer Gardens" outside. Only negative is no happy hour on game days.

We had a party of of 10 people. It was a meetup before the Mariner Fan fest. They sat us upstairs and proceeded to piece 2 1/2 tables together to fit our party. The waitress went around and took our orders. Everyone got stuff to eat and something to drink. The 2 stars is because of this. We ordered a pitcher of Heifeiweizen Beer. The waitress brought us a pitcher of Apricot. By the time we figured it. Everyone had half a glass left. I know they look alike but they taste differently. Plus we had to get to the fanfest. Check please. Baseball is around the corner. This place has been a mainstay for mariner games. I think we will meet at the Elysian this year. The beer and service is better there.

Awful. Went before Paul McCartney at Safeco and expected to wait, so the hour and forty five it took to get in didn't phase us. What we experienced after we got a table was ridiculous. We ordered and after a long, long time some guy brought out food for two out of four of us, at which time they told my uncle they were out of what he originally ordered, so he picked a burger because they said it would be fast. My Aunt asked about her salad and the guy left, then 10 minutes later someone came by with a salad. But we still didn't have any silverware, so he went away again and came back 15 minutes later saying "I found three forks and I can look for a knife." WTH? And where was the elusive burger? I told him I didn't need a fork as I had a fish sandwich but we were still waiting for the burger so he left again and we didn't see him again until he brought the check (the burger eventually arrived via some other dude). The fish sandwich was disgusting. It tasted like a frozen fish patty microwaved to death. It was hard. The salmon salad was lettuce with some squishy salmon sprinkled over it with dressing. The burgers were ok but nothing special. The only thing we all enjoyed was the beer. The beer was good, but will never eat there again.

Good local beer, great prices during happy hour. $10 pitchers. :d the food was quite good, and the place is quite loud, but hey, did you really expect to give alcohol to guys and expect us to be quiet?

Wow, I am really surprised this place doesn't have better reviews. My boyfriend and I always go here before and/or after Mariners and/or Sounders games. Yes, it is busy. But if you get there early enough, the place is huge and you can almost always get a table. The only time we had any sort of wait more than 10 minutes was before the Yankees game, and really, what were we thinking in the first place. First off, we love the beer! I am a picky beer drinker, but Iove a good Hef. The Pyramid Haywire Hef is delicious! Definitely my favorite. We usually get a pitcher, or two, or three. Whenever we go, we always order the same thing. I always tell myself I am going to try something new, but I love the pyramid burger so much, why fix something that isn't broken? The burger has delicious thick cut peppered bacon, onion rings, and a spicy bbq sauce. The fries are perfectly seasoned and delicious! Some of my favorite fries. My boyfriend always has the diablo burger with chipotle sauce and blue cheese. Any restaurant that has a burger with blue cheese on it, he has to order it. This is his favorite! Its true, I have had some problem with my food before(ie fries being cold, or forgetting the sauce on my burger) but they always fix the problem in a timely manner and are apologetic. Even when this place is super busy, I feel like I get good service and great food! If you are in the area, definitely stop in for a burger and some beer!

Oh Pyramid, you are actually pretty good and consistent. A regular stop for workday lunches, they have a varied menu, and when not working, pretty good beer (I always like the Apricot Curveball, even if it does have a weird aftertaste sometimes). The sandwiches are filling and taste pretty good - appetizers, what you expect. Atmosphere seems loud most of the time, but a great place before or after a game - and their rooms are much quieter.

When did this turn from Alehouse to Frat house? In the last few months I've made three stops here, and each gets progressively worse - both in service and food - and on this last trip, throw in beer. If I'm sitting in a half full bar area, why are we waiting literally for seven minutes (I entertained myself with a You-tube video) before anyone from the large pool of servers (all horse-playing around the cash register like this was their own personal kegger) comes over to just drop of menus (no initial drink order - at an alehouse)? Despite the customer population declining while we were there, server visits to refill drinks, take food order, clear plates, etc. got longer and longer and longer apart. I had to flag our guy down twice, from his busy work at the bar of chatting with a few guys from somewhere in the back. One beer smelled so skunky we had it returned, hoping it was the glass (it wasn't, we switched taps). Cold fries, cold rice, overcooked fish, under-toasted bread on sandwiches - you get the idea.

I usually come to the beer garden before Mariners games to kill some time. It can get pretty crowded, but the beers cost significantly less here than they do inside the stadium so it's pretty worth it! We came as a large group for a friend's birthday before the Junior/Ichiro dual bobblehead night last week and sat inside for a bit. It was my first time actually going into the building (for some reason it had never really occurred to me that there was an actual restaurant inside) and I was actually pretty surprised with how spacious it was. Their prices aren't too spectacular, but the appetizers are DEFINITELY worth it. The garlic fries are a million times better than the ones at Safeco (sacrilegious, I know) and the nachos are pretty great too. Rona L has been raving about their cider for the longest time so I finally tried the pear and it's fantastic. I'm not a huge cider fan because I don't like sweet drinks, but the flavour is very mild and light and the bubbliness makes it extra refreshing. Don't be fooled though, like most ciders it hits you before you realize it and it tastes good so you'll just keep drinking until you find out you've had too much! I found out later that it's actually made by Wyder's, which is that Canadian company that also makes the raspberry and apple ciders that they sell at grocery stores and not actually made by Pyramid, but it's delicious so I'm not complaining!

I haven't been inside but have frequented the outside beer garden before the ballgame. It's better and more festive on a sunny day when a popular opponent is in town (redsox, Yankees). The food is similar in price and quality to what you get inside so prob best just to stick to the beer. At $5 for microbrew the beer is tastier and cheaper than inside the game. I've tried all the different type (I think ipa, heffeweisen, pale ale and lager) and all are good.

  • Me H.

A great place to come before an M's game especially if it's raining. The wait can be a bit crazy but that's ok because once you sit down the service is prompt that is if you know what you want. The beer is flavorful and filling, I'm a fan of the unfiltered stuff. The food is a notch above your normal pub food but pretty consistent with brewery food. The spicy chicken wings are actually spicy, not overly spicy but I could actually taste the spiciness. The garlic fries aren't half bad either and neither are the salads. If it's sunny out stick to the beer garden outside, the beer line moves fast and it's a good meeting place for friends to meet up before the game as well as to get some "drunk people" people watching on. And if you're hungry for a dog or brat they have a place set up to feed your hunger.

I'm really surprised by some of the negative comments here. From what I had to eat, I was very pleased. I ordered the diablo burger and loved it. I added the peppered bacon to it, smart move. The diablo burger has a chipotle mayo dressing and they also add a habanero sauce. Plus the burger has crumbled blue cheese to neutralize some of the spice. I asked for it rare, and it definitely was rare. I love when a place can cook the meat to my specifications. I ordered the beer sampler and wanted one different beer than what they gave me and the server easily made the switch. I also ordered the clam chowder and it tasted like every other clam chowder I've had in Seattle. The service was fine, the server checked in with me multiple times. I recommend Pyramid. Also I really enjoy the beers!

I had not been there in years. But after doing the Chilly Hilly we were wanting to watch USA vs Canada Hockey for Gold Medal and wanted a beer or two. Sat down in a good spot where we could watch our parked bikes outside. The beers were good. I personally am just not a big fan of these micro-brew-pubs. They just get too fancy i think. I prefer other types of beer i have been drinking for a long time: american macros and the usual international suspects. the sweet potato fries were really good. and then i got the pork sliders. very good little creations. a good amount of cole slaw too. the only thing is i had to order some bbq sauce separately. And finally, the waitress seemed to keep pushing us to drink more. Probably a product of corporate policy being handed down: "get them to drink more, or get out, we need to turn those tables more quickly!" Canada won the gold. good for them. We were done and got the heck out.

The only reason I won't give a 5 on this review, is because I couldn't have a beer for lunch, not their fault, I had an interview to go to. I ordered the Rueben with fries, and told the waitress I only had a 1/2hr to eat. The sandwich came out almost exactly when I expected it, The Rueben was Wonderful, the meat was very tender, on marbled rye, and the kicker was the 1000 Island/Horsey sauce on the side, with enough zing to open up the sinuses. Next time I'm having a beer with my meal.

Kudos to Pyramid Alehouse for having brews light enough that EVEN I could enjoy. The Haywire Hefeweizen is so clean and smooth, I was on the brink of actually saying I *liked* the beer (which is huge for me). But then, Jason U (one of my dining partners) calls it "devoid of flavor" and "alcoholic water," so that might show you where my tastes lie. For what it's worth, their Audacious Apricot Ale was also... dare I say... delicious! The food was just OK. We ordered some nachos to share, but in terms of nachos they weren't my favorite. They have brewery tours on non-game days, but since we were there on a game day, we weren't able to take it. But honestly, I'm not sure how interested I'd be in the tour anyway - the brewery isn't active anymore, and the tanks look almost too shiny. I doubt I'll ever take that tour, because I'm not likely to go there on a non-game day. Even on a game day, I'll probably only make it if most of my party is in the mood for a few pints before the game.

The food is not very inspirational but the beer is amazing, varied and well-priced. The staff are unfriendly, inattentive and rude - they're obviously used to dealing with game drunks and frat boys I suppose. Treat it like a walk-up bar and you'll have a good time. Pretend that the staff are only there in spirit - they've got more important things to do than what they've been hired for!

They should just rename this restaurant "Meh" and get it over with. Generic food and decent but nothing special beer. I suppose it's fine if you're in the hood and need a beer and a burger but good lord don't travel more than 2-3 blocks to dine here.

This place might merit 3.5 stars rather than 3, but it definitely feels closer to 3 than a 4. I went here tonight with a friend, because there simply weren't many choices of places to go in the SODO area (besides fast food). My fish and chips were pretty good and my friend seemed to enjoy her ahi tuna tacos (although she thought they had accidently given her salmon, since she had never seen the tuna cooked all the way through before). They were pretty attentive with water and making sure we had the right condiments. My only complaint is that we asked for a few extra minutes to decide what we wanted and then that few extra minutes turned into extra extra minutes. Perhaps it was just the evening though... Overall, this place is a good SODO alternative if you don't want fast food. Or Starbucks.

Really a so-so kinda place. I have never been a huge fan of pyramid's beers. Their juggernaut red ale the only one I will really reach for. Came here for dinner one night and got excited when I saw the Uli's sausage plate. However, when the food came I was somewhat disappointed. I have bought and made Uli's sausages at home, and they are delicious. These though, seemed to be overcooked and a bit dry. The mashed potatoes were also kinda cold, and bland. It was also on the expensive side for what ended up coming out of the kitchen. Tried a couple of the beers, but my original feelings of their beer haven't changed. The amber's (the ale house, and the MacTarnahans) were ok, but don't really come close to a few others from around here (cue Mac & Jacks).

I am torn about this place. Don't get me wrong, their burgers and beer are great, but their portions aren't so. I had the Diablo burger and it came out looking a little....small. They could have put more fries on my plate to make up for it. I'm guessing they use smaller portions to accommodate your beer. I didn't get any beer but since I was with a large party, I paid about $12 including gratuity. It is pricier than I would have liked, but it's probably a little cheaper than paying for food at the stadium. This is a good spot to grab a bite to eat before or after the games since it is conveniently located across the street from Safeco Field. They also have a beer garden in which you could check out before the games.

Great beer, hands down fantastic. With that out of the way, I must say the food was pretty good/alright, with the exception of the pretzel - awesome. I would have given it 4 stars if the beer tour guy had been a bit more enthusiastic. He was nice enough and sufficiently knowledgable, but he seemed like he had his arm twisted into gaining is the tour, perhaps by the girl who first greeted us at the bar and said SHE was the one who was going to give us the tour? Anyway, I understand after the umpteenth tour it must get a bit old, but our tour guide had zilch in the personality department and barely cracked a smile. When I try it again- and I most certainly will - I will upgrade to a four, borderline 5 stars if the service is better. For now, I will blame the mediocrity on the fact we arrived right at the shift change.

I remember when Pyramid Beer was the shizznit. It's not anymore because there are so many better competitors. It's weak beer, maybe just a step up from the cheap swills. The food here ain't so hot. I still give it two stars because the space is really cool and I sometimes have a great time when I hit it at the right moment.

Generally we really like Pyramid in the SF bay area, but this was an unpleasant experience. Ordered a pyramid burger. It came with only a small portion of fries and was surprised to see we were charged extra for garlic fries when we received the bill. Overall, did not meet expectations!

Good beer and nice ambience but be warned that the sweet potato fries are soggy and limp. They did taste good once we got past the textural issue.

Apricot ale...one of my all-time favorites...ever! But, besides the awesome brew, the food is terrific. Garlic fries, a must. Greek salad...alright. Sausage sampler was pretty good. THE place before a Mariner's game.

My ale-loving friend has just arrived from Afghanistan, and a brewhouse seemed the best choice, so, Pyramid Ale was close to his hotel... good choice? Nerp. Slower than molasses service, incorrect meal, and eventually the overcooked Kobe burger arrived, upon which, it got sent back. The server seemed confused and overhwelmed, and his co-workers openly made fun of him, and watched him scramble, but made no offer to help. The burger took so long coming back it went into a takeout container. It was tasty in the hotel room, but not worth the lack of service, $14.00 or wait. The Bellevue-ites seated next to us were livid and loud about the screwups, and we saw another group of 4, that had been seated with no water or greeting, just get up and leave. We meandered about the gift shop, where no employee was at the register....the pre-teen hostess finally told us to wait - with a look like we we going to steal her precious bottle openers and ballcaps - after seating several people, she eventually 'helped' us buy beer and random souvenir. Will not be returning, there's better food/service two blocks away. Apricot Ale, I will continue seeing you at Central Market, you sexy thang.

I do micro breweries a lot, all over. Pyramid, across from Safeco Field is really a well done pub. However, if you are thinking about lunch, the wife would not eat the fish tacos. I tried a bite and she was right, they were really bad just a terrible flavor. The smoked salmon burger turned out to be a mush like ground beef flavored w/liquid smoke. The waitress was was nice and did not charge us for tacos like she had seen this before. What was good ? The fresh cut fries and the amber.

They have beer. Pyramid beer (TM). It's consumable, but not something I would seek out ordinarily. They have food. Mediocre food. I would desire it much like the beer. They have televisions. Lots of televisions. They're all on sports channels. I don't like sports that involve a ball. They're all on loud and I talked about building a device to unobtrusively turn them all off should I visit again. I think they have better nachos at a TGIFridays. Yes. They're that bad.

Enjoyed a couple of pale ale draughts. My wife and I split the chorizo app and a turkey burger. Both were tasty. Service and atmosphere were what I'd expect from a brewpub. I would go back.

I don't get over to the Pyramid Alehouse very often but whenever I do, it's a good time. I've been there on winter afternoons to enjoy lunch with friends and I've been there for summer evening pre-baseball beer garden mania. The food on the regular menu is good. I'd go so far as to say quite good. They have a limited menu on game days, which mostly has things like nachos and...um...well, nachos are the only vegetarian thing on the menu on game day so I guess I didn't pay attention to the rest so I can't tell you about it. The beer is good though! This summer I'm enjoying the Grifter a lot, even though I normally go for something with a little more substance. A benefit to the Grifter is that it doesn't seem as sticky as other beers so when you or your server dump most of a pint into your lap before the day is even really getting going you don't have to worry about your jeans sticking to your legs for too long.

Pyramid is an okay beer, not the best the NW has to offer, but definitely not the worst. I felt rushed, like when the server came by she was only going to do it once and that's the only chance we'd get to order. Food was so-so, nothing to write home about. Basic bar food without nuance or originality. Yep. That's pretty much it. ~I also wanted to note that on election night, we stopped by because of their oodles and oodles of t.v.'s. The bartender said they could not play sound on the election returns because it was illegal. WHAT? They were empty and rightfully so. We headed to Showbox SODO for the crowd and sound on the televisions.

A newbie to Seattle, and fresh off the plane, I was starving! My sister and I dropped by Pyramid Alehouse to have lunch before our 12:30pm Safeco Field Tour. We wanted a quick lunch (we had 30 minutes to spare) and this was the only close restaurant open in the area. We were seated immediately. Our server greeted us right away, and took our drink orders. We ordered appetizers- chicken tenders and garlic fries. We did not tell our server we were in a rush, but our food came out very fast. It was fresh out the fryer and delicious. Serving portions were generous, good food variety on the menu and prices were reasonable. One qualm- the garlic fries were more rosemary than garlic in flavor. We ate quickly and paid for our bill. Our server was cool. He was serving a lot of tables, but he checked on us a few times. Service was good, and the atmosphere was lively (TV screens, good seating, nice decor). I would definitely visit again. Maybe next time I will have one of their beers!

I think this is pretty obvious but if this place was located somewhere else it would die. Its nice having a baseball and football stadium near by. But 4 stars since it is a good place to grab a drink and snacks before the game. Better food and lower price, I don't know why people go to games and spend $50 on food and beer.

I came here in 2007 before a Mariner's game and was so impressed, I bought a case of beer and flew it home in my luggage... Seattle was having a warm sunny stretch while I was visiting, while our beloved Sox were having one of their famous, let's get swept while playing the worst team in baseball stretches.... Anyhow get the fish taco's and the Apricot Hef, sit back and enjoy the great food at VERY reasonable prices and then go to the most beautiful ball park other than Fenway and watch our boys win one.... Also, Seattle is infamously cloudy, but if it's sunny make sure to get outside on the deck... So nice out there....

    (5)
  • Jessica S.

Yes, we love Pyramid Hef. However, I'm really not all the impressed with the food at Pyramid. I will come occasionally with friends before a Mariner game and have a beer, but if I am going to eat before the game, I much prefer Elysian or King Street (both close to Safeco). Pyramid, as you can imagine, gets very crowded right before a Mariner game. This is one of the rare times that is a plus. It's actually fun hanging out in the bar when everyone is there for the same reason. I just wouldn't rave about the food. And it is so crowded that the service is slow.

  • Tiffany S.

Let's hear it for the Oregon Honey Wheat! We walked in at 6:45 pm on game day and had no problems getting a table (that's how much the M's suck, I guess). I had a caesar salad (delicious) and Chris had their famous burger. Onion rings were good. Chris' fries were good. Pretty much all good. Much better than the food in the stadium. We'll be back!

    (4)
  • Ann H.

DO NOT GO HERE! We stopped by after the Mariners game and they weren't that busy but yet we still sat for 20 min & no one even acknowledged we were there. We would have stayed if someone would have just said "We'll be right with you" but we got nothing. I informed one of the managers as we were leaving & his response was nothing as well. I cannot say how good or bad the food and drink are since we couldn't even get served.

BEER quality -- 1 star FOOD quality -- 2.5 stars I tried 6 of their own home-brewed beers and was disappointed with all of them. The food was average, however, and acceptable. I highly recommend the Chicken Chili; I also liked the Seafood Cioppino. Service was good.

    (2)
  • Joshua G.

Hey, this place is better than Chilli's! And the price is about the same. But seriously, you probably would want to go here because it's close to the stadiums. Or close to where you work. NW beers are overrated. I say, keep your bloody fruit out of my beer. If i wanted to taste apricot, I would get a cocktail. The Blackened Salmon BLT is pretty damn good. The waiter messed up and accidentally brought us clam chowder. We got it for free. I just can't give this place more than three stars because it feels like the K-mart of alehouses. It feels as large and as expansive as the stadium. If you are sensitive to feeling like a tool, I would stay away from this place. But if you like major league sports, you are probably used to the feeling. you probably won't even notice.

Really... people can screw up a burger? I mean REALLY screw it up?! McDonalds doesn't even really screw up a burger and I won't eat theirs. Our dinner at Pyramid should be titled "Everything went wrong". To be nice- our server was gracious and entertaining- we even found out she use to be a massage therapist and after my friend made a comment inquiring if a massage was included with our meal she was still nice. We were seated quickly on a game day- say 5pm-ish. Our server got us started on beers right away and made a great suggestion of the seasonal Hef with 10% :) Our food orders were 2 BBQ pizzas, a fish and chips, and a mushroom burger. We waited- drank our beers- waited- noticed people around us that were seated afterus were getting their orders- had our waitress tell us they were behind in the kitchen and that she was hurrying them- had our guy friends take off to the beer garden- waitress noticed and this time told us they had lost the ticket and that she would comp us "something"- still waited with the boys in the garden- waitress asked if we wanted more beer and when we answered yes said she would compt them- food arrived as boys got bored with beer garden- we began eating and drinking the free round- realized my burger was so well done that it was hard to chew- FOUND CARDBOARD in my burger! They compt my burger and a round of beers- nice enough but... How do you screw up a burger? how do you put cardboard in the screwed up burger? how do you served a table of 15+ before us and we ordered the same things? Lackluster at best... I like the Pyramids beer and on Tuesdays the beer garden offers $4 beer to ladies so I will not boycot the garden- just the restaurant- boo! hiss! I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

Met some friends here for a brewery tour, and despite there being tours listed on the chalkboard, was told "Oh, we don't do tours on game days; plus we don't actually brew anything here anymore"... sad. So instead we sat and had some beer/nachos. I had the flight of beers and all of them were good, but nothing to write home about. The hefeweizen was probably the best, but almost seemed devoid of flavor, kind of like alcoholic water. The nachos were average at best: the chicken was under cooked and the 'stuff' to chip ratio was way off. Overall I think this would be a good place to come during/after a Mariner's game, but doesn't deserve a special trip to SODO.

  • Tanya S.

Why pay $7+ for a beer at Safeco when you can prefunk at Pyramid and get pitchers for $10+?? Common sense. I love the brews here, especially Hefeweizen... mmm... and while it can get crazily busy before a M's game, I love the atmosphere of half-drunk baseball fans yelling at each other. Mushroom burger... delicious. Nachos are okay, but definitely hit the spot while I was downing my beer and good portions too.

i'm basing this review on location, service, and game day. i'll take everyones word that the food is not much to speak of and the beer has gone sour. bad food and bad beer is something i usually expect when i'm going to the game though. i've never expected to have a conversation about tasty pints at the game, usually i'm talking about the game. sorry brandon s., unfortunately in this city people worry more about the beer than their sports and your bar will continue to be overrun with tourists because of this. anyone from another city is looking for convenience and a place to get a drink without a wait. i guess it's not wise to eat or drink here on an off day but for game day i recommend. ground rule double for pyramid. below is a chart of how the yelp rating system works. i think everyone should know how tough it is to be a five star company. 95% and up = 5 stars 85% - 94.9% = 4 and a half stars 75% - 84.9% = 4 stars 65% - 74.9% = 3 and a half stars anything less, useless example: 20-5 stars 5-4 stars 3-2 stars 4-1 stars 124 `/, 150 = .826 (4 star)

I'm just reviewing the beer garden for Pyramid. -after enduring a 15 minute wait to enter and snag our King Felix bobbleheads, we headed across the street for a brew; Inside gets packed in a hurry, so go to the beer garden for your quick fix -great hangout, very college-like, with tunes in the background and tables to stand around. -line to buy inside beer garden can be lengthy, up to 15 minutes, and we got here around 530 and the game wasn't until 710; also, the beer outside is cash only. -roughly 5 to 6 bucks for a brew outside, lil pricey for a plastic cup but the Hefeweizen is worth it. Good meeting spot overall if you just want a quick brew; for actual food, try FX, the concessions outside Safeco, or dine on the Ichiroll inside the ballpark!

Best Wheat in Seattle. I have season tickets to the Seahawks, and I always come here before games. The place gets pretty packed and loud but that's how it should be for football right? The food is your typical pub food with reasonable prices and decent service. However, the reason I return every Sunday is for the beer. They have one of the best wheats I've tried in this country. Combine that with the excellent proximity to the stadiums and you have a winner.

  • Jack B.

Great beer. Great root beer too, I was pleasantly surprised. Next time I'm here, it will be tough to decide between a pitcher of beer or a pitcher of soda. You can park free in the attached lot if there's no game going on. The girlfriend and I split a plate of nachos after the waiter told us it was this huge plate of food. At one point, the structural integrity of the nacho pile was compromised and I was trapped for several long minutes. The doctors said my heart stopped and restarted during that time. I had to eat my way out. The waitstaff are all very flirty... with each other. Singles take note: if you're looking for a date, you might want to send your resume to Pyramid.

  • Ted P.

Oh, I see how this works. Sure, just because I'm a Whitesox fan, you stick me and everyone else with a whitesox hat or shirt on back behind the bar where nobody can see us on game day when our Southsiders are in town to crush the Mariners... Yeah, I'd probably do that too. We had quite the cheering section though... Decent beer, decent food and a great pre-game location.

I got a turkey sandwich to go...not only were my fries cold...but I woke up a couple hours afterwards with a severe case of food poisoning! I will NEVER eat there again! (I'd prefer to give no stars...but not possible with this site)

I used to like Pyramid and went there for lunch quite regularly. It fell off my radar and I hadn't been in awhile when I recently went for a business lunch. I ordered something I'd had many times before from their new, more limited menu, but the quality had gone way downhill. Their delicious steak fries have been replaced with standard, run-of-the-mill plain fries and the reuben was nothing to write home about. I wonder if this is a side effect of their new parent company.

place was packed! but then again we came during a game .. but what other good time to come? i guess a group of our friends had been waiting pretty long for a table so when we got there me and b just pulled up extra chairs. they had a really good pear and and apple beer. it really tasted like juice. we didn't eat but the food just seemed mediocre. wasn't a great place but wasn't a terrible place either. it was fun because of all the hype before game on. would come back before a game definitely.. the wait might be challenging though.

    (3)
  • Rob B.

So, I went on a gameday. The place was packed. The food was mediocre, overpriced, slow. I didn't really find the burgers to be of 'wow' quality. They did have the apricot beer, which is my favorite. They get a bonus star for the parking, which I believe we left our car in the lot for the whole game for less then half of the stadium parking. Kudos for not sucking completely.

    (2)
  • Rebecca H.

Get there by 5 pm on game day to get a table inside. The tables outside were full by 4pm. Decent beer, decent apple cider, decent nachos, decent service. Nothing extraordinary, but all just fine before a game. It reminded me of an Applebees or Chilis, but with a sports theme.

    (3)
  • Amanda R.

Good place to watch the game, especially if you make it there for happy hour priced pitchers. I suppose Pyramid does what it's supposed to. It's not incredible, just a place to get a fried heart attack special and pitcher of beer quickly. The garlic fries are exactly what you think they are, albeit overdone with the salt. Yeah, just ok, but they could definitely be better with a little effort.

I'm overall not really impressed with the brews out west. This place had a parking lot beer garden which wasn't really welcoming. We ate regular bar food over a few beers. I liked the apricot ale and appreciated how close it was to Safeco.

Man, what happened to this place? I used to go here pretty routinely, but it's been three months or so since I've been. Wanted a little changeup from the usual today with my sister along. I ordered a vegetarian burger. (I must really have been in the mood for a changeup. I never order a veg burger.) Gail got a cobb salad. So it comes and the burger and fries are barely luke warm. Whatever. Gotta eat and git back to work. I took two bites, noting how incredibly dry the burger was. When I opened it to squirt a little somethin onto it, I notice it's not a veg burger. It's beef. I would have been pissed if I was an honest to dog vegetarian. So, strike 1: screwed the order up. Strike 2: their burgers are scrawny, dry Costco frozen patties. Sent it back. The waiter says, "Our kitchen... what are you going to do? It'll be three minutes." Ten minutes later I'm flagging him down asking what's up. So the veg burger comes, the waiter apologizes for the kitchen's screw up for the third time. And the burger is absolute shite. But it's a veg burger. I've had good ones, but this ain't it. Oh well, live/learn. Takes forever to get the waiter to bring us the bill. The final insult? The bill shows the waiter was the one who actually ordered the beefy burger... it's right there on the computer print out he'd typed in to send to the kitchen. If you're going to screw up and blame it on the kitchen, at least remember to change it on the slip. AND not charge the customer a dollar more for the thing he didn't want. By and large this was just bad service (though my sister said the guy was cute). Both burgers did, however, suck. In all fairness, I saw some other stuff being delivered to other tables that looked good. But don't order the house burger, the veg burger, or even the cobb salad. Sis said it was pretty mediocre. Unless you like lots and lots of shredded lettuce. They make great beer. They should stick with that.

Happy Hour Rocks at Pyramid. Pyramid has some really good beer, and resides in a real nice location, directly across the street from the stadiums! Great place be after the game or just before. Good service, food and of course beer. Not sure if they brew the beer here anymore though? Nice place to catch a post game beer!

  • J T.

Don't go here for the food. The burgers are not as good as the price and description suggest. I just got the Pyramid burger and boy, was it boring. The fries lacked good texture and did not provide adequate taste. The burger patty itself was bland and didn't have the right amount of seasoning. The toppings were lifeless and the cheese mundane. It was the rare sunny day in Seattle and they tried to seat us deep in the recesses of the building even though there were empty seats outside. What's up with that? Go for the beer, go for the convenience, but don't go for the food.

My eyes are totally squinted shut right now trying to remember anything more that would make this a 4 star review. Hmm... I'll check for typos later, I apologize if any made it through. Thank god for typing classes in seventh grade, and a job transcribing for Hard Copy in early college! I am now somehow able to type with my eyes closed. I digress. Pyramid. 3 stars vs 4. I've been a few times now. It's convenient for baseball games, pre-meeting-a-client-in-SoDo lunch, and pre-concert food for a show at Showbox Sodo. But... yeah is it stellar? No, not really. Second time I was there they totally lost my buddy's order, then got it wrong when he re-ordered, and had run out of the food I was ordering. Which meant that we both got our food at the same time, but it took a long fricken time. Last time I was there the food was actually pretty good -- the Pork Tacos are excellent, and I think the secret is the cabbage. The nachos are decent as well. We had a couple different beers, and they are better than anything I can get in Los Angeles, but in Seattle... they're just above average. (Good to keep perspective). Honestly, the reason that that second star is staying off is for lack of toilet paper. I was in the bathroom and I had to head into one of the stalls to hand some toilet paper to a stranded TP-less guy in the next stall. And that stall only had that roll. I mean... come on now. TP is important! They also had water all over the floor from one of the bars leaking. They were doing a pretty good job of cleaning it up, but it was like Lake Union in there. Anyway, yeah, it's convenient. Food's ok. Beer's ok. But it's more convenience than anything. And bring your own TP.

My first experience here was last year at my first Mariners game. When I first saw this place I felt like a kid in a candy store at the beer garden. OMG beers were so inexpensive and sooo good!!! I was totally drunk by the time the Mariners game started. After a very short walk I was at the stadium and I was able to witness the Mariners get their asses handed to them in a sad defeat. After the game myself and EVERYONE else from the stadium walked back to the Alehouse for more booze and grub. I was very pleased with my experience and I would recommend to others going to a game here to check out this place.

I agree with Chris H. The hef, snocap and curveball are nice, and I once rented a keg of curveball here that was great, but the food and atmosphere is Red Robin but not as good. Very corporate vibe, unlike the Redhook brewery.

I would not recommend this place to eat at before any Seattle games. Of course it is during a game and there is a lot of people, but yesterday before the Seahawks game, my son's cheeseburger had an earring in the cheese. Right when he started to take a bite he saw it and we flagged the waitress down and she told us that she would get him a new burger asap. We didn't get an apology or a visit from the manager and we were still charged for the Hep burger. It was disgusting. I know they are busy during games, but to have an earring the size of a quarter in your burger is unacceptable. Don't go here, go to Cowgirls and get the Herpes Caesar Salad instead.

If you are going to take the time to brew your own micro for the love of god serve it in a glass not a plastic cup. That has to be one of the most disappointing things about this place. If I am going to pay $5 for a pint of beer thats not Mac & Jacks I don't want it in some crappy plastic mess, I want the full flavor that you only get from a nice cold glass. Yes I know its hard to keep up with washing all the glasses when the place is packed with mariners or seahawks fans but I didn't choose to build across from two stadiums. The food here isn't bad, but its nothing to rave about. You get pretty standard pub fare at slightly elevated prices, guess thats why I only go here before sporting events.

Beer garden before Seahawks and Mariners games is clutch. I love it. The food is also really well-priced for what you get, and frankly, there's nothing that spectacular waiting for you in the stadium at similar prices. When we go early enough to sit down before a game, the service is really organized for the masses of people they have in the restaurant. Overall, I think they are doing most everything right.

I solely think of this location as a pre-funk place for Mariners games. Based on it's prime location, it doesn't need to be anything more than that to me. Good beer and cheaper than Safeco Field brew. However, with the Elysian Fields very nearby, it's got some stiff competition for my attention. It's a shame that Pyramid has moved most of its brewing facility to Oregon and California. They only brew what they sell here, so I guess you can add 'fresh beer' to the list of positives for this place. Food is definitely not on that list.

Went with a group to Pyramid today. Although the waiter was pretty good, the kitchen was SLOW, and it was well over half an hour from the time we placed our orders until they were delivered. I was disappointed in the food. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because the sweet potato fries were yummy. The salmon burger wasn't a piece of salmon, but rather, ground up salmon mixed with some spices and something to hold it together. I was excited to go and left disappointed. I definitely don't recommend it for large groups as the service is just too slow.

Love & hate relationship here. I love the beer, I love the brewpub feel & appropriate architecture of the place for a brewpub, but I don't like the rowdy crowd - especially the obnoxious & usually inebriated sports fans. Nonetheless, if I'm in this area I have to hit this spot and my beer & food are usually very good.

  • Craig R.

A nice microbrewery with a sweet location near the major sports venues in Seattle. They have a good selection of beer - i particularly liked the Apricot Amber mainly becuase it was very smooth and not something you see every day. The food was good - better than expected for a brew place. the service was awesome. If you are in town try this place it is worth a trip.

I attempted to get a table here 2 hours before game time for a Mariner's game and had to wait over 45 minutes to get a table for 2. We went to the parking lot beer garden to mingle with drunk people which is always fun and terrible at the same time. The highlight was getting hit on by some guy's friend who described him as 'desperate' and I thought... 'Well if THAT doesn't sell me right there.. Peace out.' Anyhow, the food: beer in plastic keg cups with some burgers. The fish sandwich was tasty but by the time we sat we had to eat & run before the game started. So much for planning ahead I guess. Of course Pyramid is the busiest place on earth before an M's game but I'd pick some place a little less insane next time I wanted a pre-game bite to eat.

A favorite hot spot pre-Mariner's game . . . it's okay, typical bar food with burgers, nachos, and beer. It was pretty busy when we went, although we got seated right away since we came early. Since it was so busy, there were a lot of mix-ups with our orders for beer and food. They brought out extra beers that we were charged for, they added meat on the nachos when we specifically asked for no meat . . . it was basically a madhouse because it was so busy there. Our waiter did try his best and it showed. We got the nachos, the Pyramid burger . . . pretty average, nothing to scream about. If it wasn't for the convenience, the beer garden, and the camaraderie of fellow baseball fans . . . it wouldn't be such a happening place.

Hellooo bartender Jay and twin manager who I don't know your name. Everyone was very friendly and a pleasant atmosphere. What is it about the men from Seattle. They are all very much the gentleman and what I wish we would see in STL. This place is great for before and after the Mariners game...or during if you feel like skipping the game to hang out with the staff.

I love the beer here. Its really one of the best local brewerys. That being said, I'm not rating the beer. I'm rating the food and the location. If you going to a game this place is perfect. Any other time you want to stop by it sucks. Parking is hard to find and the spaces used by the restaurant are nice a big if your driving a golf cart, other wise its like taking your driving test all over again. The food is fair. I've never been real impressed, but I also haven't gotten sick. The prices are average. Some things seem a little too expensive other seem like a OK deal. Staff is friendly and the decor is run of the mill Brewery. I'll keep drinking the beer but won't be back unless I'm going to a game.

Shockingly good bar food! I mean, wow, they got good food. Salads are excellent, wings good, etc. The cooks do love the pepper though. If you don't like lots of black pepper, be careful. And the beer ain't bad either.

  • Jody N.

This is a great place to go grab some food and a drink while you are waiting to go to a game, but other than that is really nothing special. Has typical bar food, an assortment of beer (cheaper than at Safeco), cider, and wine. If you are looking for a good place, close to the game time action, this place has got it!

    (3)
  • Chris H.

This is quite possibly the most over-hyped place in the city. It's location lends itself to great success as the baseball fans pack the place before every game. Pyramid throws down arguably the best Hefeweisen around, but the rest of their beers typically miss the mark for me. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy a Cruveball in the summertime, and Snowcap is one of my favorite beers, but this place has really gotten away from its roots. This is one of five Pyramid brewhouses throughout the western US. While this is more the 'flagship' brewhouse, service & quality are not the name of the game here. Odds are, you'll wait about 40+ minutes to get a table at the heigth of dinnertime, and if you're there prior to a sporting event, best of luck. The bar area serves as a great alternative to get a seat, but it's usually full. The food is decent, and the menu hasn't really changed much in the past ten years since this was the Hart Brewing Company. You're going to get gouged for slow service, adquate food and a long wait here. If you're just dropping in to have a couple beers, by all means do. Just pick your date/time carefully and don't be disappointed by the over-priced food should you choose to indulge. If you find yourself eating here, and beer is not the name of your game, be sure to try the Thomas Kemper Black Cherry Soda. If you don't, you will have wasted your beverage choice.

Great beer, cold (Luke Perry) warm food. For some reason, I keep eating the same heating lamp chilled food over and over. Guess everyones just too drunk to serve warm food, but like I said the beer is great.

  • Chris F.

Great place to go before a baseball game. Been there a few times and always a good experience. Bartenders are friendly and the last time I was there they gave a me several samples of different beers which was cool. I wouldn't go here if I wasn't heading to a game, it's not like they have the best selection of beers, but it's great pregame warm up.

We were in Seattle for the Seahawks-Cardinals game, took the train up from Portland and stayed at the Silver Cloud. With no car and the hotel shuttle limited in the distance you can go, this place is right across the street from the hotel so it is a good place to go under those circumstances. The prices are reasonable, service is friendly and the food is fair.

I been here a few times before a Mariners game. Decent food, decent beer, decent service. Been here both with an adult only crowd and with children as well. There is something for all ages on the menu...for both food and drink. :-)

Mariners game - dog and Pyramid hefeweizen in the sun. The restaurant gets ridiculously crowded during big games, so be prepared. Great high-end bar food.

Came here for the first time last Friday around 8PM and surprised it wasn't a packed house. Tried their chicken club sandwich... good sized portions and made me full enough to not finish my beer. Love their Hef, will definitely come back to try the other beers. The service was pretty good, the waitress gave great recommendations, and the crowd wasn't overbearingly loud.

$5 for three 10 oz. samplers? Count me in! Okay, so maybe they were the winter beers and it's June, but they are still delicious and only five bucks! The food is better than expected for a place whose specialty is beer. The beer garden in the summer is amazing before and after games (and cheaper than stadium food and drinks!).

We stopped and hung out here last Saturday afternoon (6/5). We were mainly killing time waiting to take the Amtrak train back to Portland. We stayed for a couple hours and tried many of their summer seasonal beers as well as eating. The beers were pretty good. They were only summer seasonal one that you can only ordered there. I had the salmon BLT which was pretty good. Service was pretty good. The Mariners game had already started so the place had emptied out somewhat so there were plenty of servers standing around especially since the Sounders match was coming up in a couple hours later. I think this is pretty good spot for a few beers and pub food before catching a ball game. Only negative is that I wish their outdoor seating area was a little bigger.

  • Catalina D.

The beer is great (loved the Honey Wheat and the DPA) but the food is average. Service was a little lacking as well. Got seated right away, but it took a while before someone took our drink order and even longer for our food to arrive. Nevertheless, it's a great place for pre & post Mariners game beer festivities.

The food quality seems to be a bit of an afterthought at this chain restaurant/bar. The burgers are OK. But stay away from any pasta dishes. There are many better placed to eat/drink in walking distance of this place.

I've eaten at Pyramid about a half dozen times. My experiences with their beer has always been great. The beer garden is a must before Mariners games! Unfortunately, the food has been underwhelming. My food selections on separate occasions have arrived cold, undercooked and with moldy bread. The management has been very friendly and have always been apologetic and fair in their compensation for the errors. I don't think I will be back to eat again. But, If I do, I'm sticking with the beers.

Ended up coming here by accident with my friends as we were actually looking for some other place to drink... Drove by and saw the Pyramid sign and had to stop and check it out. It was late on a Tuesday night, an hour before closing if I remember correctly. Our service was prompt, probably since the place wasn't full. I tried a few of their beers, didn't really like the cider one (don't remember if it was apple or peach cider). Pizza was really good.

Beer before games is a must in the Beer garden outside. Or you can go there during a game as well. The food is pretty good every time I have been there. The staff is good as well. The down fall is the parking if its during a game.

Pre-games this is the spot in Seattle, the location (across the street from Safeco Field, and just down from Qwest Field) you can't beat it. I'm a fan of their hot dogs in the beer garden, and their Hefeweizen is probably my favorite (if they bring back their Imperial Hefeweizen, I'd be even happier). Their bar is a little small, compared to the rest of the place, but it's not bad.

  • Marci K.

Great beer, good food, spotty service. Not sure if it was it's the norm, but every time I have a meal here as a small party (2 people), the service stinks. Our table is consistently ignored. The worst offender is the waiter who walks around with a picture of himself and his girlfriend/wife in his back pocket... you won't miss him. I think his name is Tim. However, when I'm in a large group, the service isn't bad. I wonder why this happens? They must think that smaller parties will tip less...

Well where do I begin. As you can probably tell from my photo, I am a big fan of their hef. What I am also a fan of is some of the other brews they offer, especially curveball. Excellent beer. This is a great place to hang out before an M's or Hawks game, and it has excellent food. Hell, I even drank and ate here before the 4A state title baseball game last year. This is a great place to grab dinner and some drinks before a night on the town.

  • Julian H.

Well, Pyramid basically has a captive market, at least before baseball games, which means they could let food and service quality slip a lit. But they don't, as far as I can tell. It's a nice way to eat before a game and it's nice to patronize a (sort of) local establishment. Oh yeah, and the Hef is killer.

Was not aware that this was a game "event" day or would not have gone for lunch. Though the game isn't until this evening, they still served the beer in plastic, baseball park cups. I don't go to a restaurant/brewery for lunch and a good beer to have it served in a flimsy, plastic cup. The food was the usual so-so; the beer was just as over-priced in the plastic cup as it would have been in a proper glass pint. If they are going that route, they could just serve all of food on paper plates with plastic flatware and call it a tailgate party. I won't be returning.

Last Saturday I went to the Pyramid Brewery to see Matt Costa play at some concert / beginning of winter party. My date and I had dinner in the alehouse before the show. I was quite pleased that they were able to seat us right away, especially given the event going on that evening. The food was good. I had the Pyramid burger which had habanero this and jalapeno that on it, making for a very spicy taste sensation. It was big and juicy and topped with three onion rings. The service at the restaurant was fast... almost too fast. We got our food before we even got our drinks. Given the spiciness of my burger, I then had to sit and wait, staring at my food until my beer arrived before I could dig in. Oh, and for some reason they served their beer in plastic beer garden style cups. I don't know why. The beer samplers that many of the other tables around us ordered came in small glass schooners, but we got plastic. Thus ends my review of my dining experience. You may read on, dear reader, to learn of the comical chronicles of the concert-going experience that followed... After dinner, we went around to the brewery's back parking lot for the concert. I don't know whose idea it was to have an outdoor concert in the middle of November, but I suppose it worked. We were all packed inside a pavilion-style tent. While it was well heated, the white tent walls sporting projected videos of Tony Hawk's EXXXTREME Mountain Dew Snowboarding Tricks 3 EXXXTREME EXXXTREMENESS Edition, left something to be desired. Also, the asphalt floor soon made my Chuck-clad feet incredibly sore. The opening band, The Evergreen Experience, was of the "we formed in college so we could have more sex" variety. They were run-of-the-mill unoriginal Dave Matthews clones made out of vanilla extract and granola, mixed with a little Bud Lite. Every song sounded exactly the same and the only one they put any feeling into was their cover of CCR. Matt Costa was good, though by the time he came on, my feet were killing me and I was beginning to feel claustrophobic in my prison made of Gore-tex clad chodes. And they were definitely chodes. The chode to my right was the tall, drunk chode who elbows his way to the front and then spends the whole concert tonguing his girlfriend's ear and then glancing at the people behind him to make sure it's okay that he is totally blocking their view with his erotic earwax-removal efforts. The chode behind me was the super-cheerleader chode who decided it would be okay to do a twirling partner dance in too small a space. He kept bumping me with ass and elbows, forcing me to lean into his gyrations to prevent my date from being jostled. Finally, the chode to my left was the spiky haired alpha-male, Adidas track jacket and silver-chain wearing sort, who felt the need to vent his latent homosexuality by drunkenly whooping at the top of his lungs while hugging his uncomfortable looking male friend too closely. By the end of his set, Matt Costa was clearly drunk. While most people bugged out, a few members of the crowd tried desperately to will an encore. Nothing happened for several minutes and we were just about to leave when Matt retook the stage. He definitely needs to work on his timing for encore performances. Overall, his encore felt forced and was of the sleepy lullaby rather than the one last hurrah variety. This ends the sordid adventures of Geoff at the Pyramid Brewery last Saturday. My dining experience was 4 stars, while the concert was merely 2. Though the concert definitely makes for a better story.

Before a Mariner's game, my friend and I stopped in for a few drinks and some dinner. I was amazed at how quickly we were seated, especially since it is the only place near the ballpark to grab a bite to eat. They have 5 signature beers to choose from on their list and the Apricot beer was extremely tasty and light. The food was really good and we received everything in an extremely timely fashion given the craziness of the crowds.

  • Calen K.

Beer is definitely the highlight here, they always have an excellent selection of seasonal and staple brews. Snowcap season approaches! The food is pub food, a little overpriced (but way cheaper than the stadium), pizza is decent, burgers are pretty good, but overall meh. The place is huge, great place for a gathering, awesome atmosphere around game time, and fun place to be, but if you're not going to a game and want a burger and brew there are many better choices.

  • Greg A.

Right across from Safeco Field, this is a great bar/restaurant that features every kind of Pyramid brew you could imagine. Nice inside with friendly bartenders and good food. For a great burger (one of the best I've had in a while), try the Pyramid burger. They also have some killer apps. Be warned, though. This place is a mob scene before a Mariners game, so plan accordingly.

    (4)
  • Esteban D.

The Pyramid is probably your best bet on the day of a baseball game. The food is whatever whatever, but they make decent beers here which come in the form of a 4 ounce sampler. Get 2 of these samplers with 5 beers at 4 ounces apiece and you'll get a good idea of what Pyramid has to offer. During the summertime, it's the Curveball that gets me every time and in the winter, i think it's called Jolly Roger. They have a beer garden for the baseball season where you can get a dog across the street for the pre-funk party with your friends. But seriously, you should have the sampler at any brewery/pub you go to (they all have 'em) and when you see the Mariners play, you should get one here before the long walk to the car. Trust me.

  • Jarrett P.

I'm not gonna lie--the service here leaves a lot to be desired. But I've only been here either before or after a big game so it's pretty much understood. Gotta love the brew. I like my beers wheaty, so I would recommend the Haywire Hefeweisen, or, if you're visiting during the summer, the Curve Ball, their summer seasonal. A lot of people on Yelp seem to think that their food is simply mediocre, but you've gotta try the Diablo Burger. You won't regret it. It's the kind of burger that makes you moan with every bite. And I'm not the kind of guy who would joke about moan-burgers. All in all, Pyramid's a great place to kill some time and catch a buzz before the game. I can't really think of a bad thing to say about the place, aside from the service, but it just seems like that's gone by the wayside in general these days.

I would only ever come here before a Mariner's Game that being said their Cider beer is good. I can't stand beer nor can i stand the taste of beer. So to get me to drink it, it must be amazing. Well the cider beer isn't amazing but its like drinking a spiked sparkling apple cider...and i must say that it creeps up on you. Two rather large cups of it later and i must say I felt it when i stood up. Decent place, stay away from the food. And be prepared to push people over and have beer spilled on you or your shoes if you go during a M's game.

  • Sarah M.

I haven't taken the tour, but I thought the food was good, and of course I love the beer. My friend got the sampler, but I stuck with the Apricot Ale, now called Apricothiezen or something weird. Perfect place to go before or after a baseball game or really any rainy day. It was a little bitter sweet to see it here in CA. On one hand I'm excited because I really like it, but on the other I wanted it to just be a Seattle brewery. I even got in an argument with my friend here when she said there was one in Berkeley. I was like no way, it's a Seattle brewery. Turns out she was right. I hate being wrong.

Great food. The salmon from Seattle is some of the best. The Heff is great as well. Plus it's right across the street from the Mariners and Seahawks stadiums, so you don't have to walk too far to grab a beer.

During a recent trip to Seattle I had dinner at the Pyramid Alehouse. Generally I liked the convenience of the location (I was staying across the street) and the beer was good however I was not impressed with the food, I guess I would classify it as typical bar food (nothing special). There is a fair number of TV's in the place which allowed me to watch basketball which is a good thing.

Lets state the obvious, the beer rocks. In the summer time, stick with the Hef. During the colder days, take on the Winterhook. Once a day (I think at 4pm) they offer a simple tour of the brewery. Not many people do this so that day my wife and I were the only ones (it's free too). They explain the brew process and give you free samples. Doesn't take too long so it is worth it if you have the time. Now to the food. Most of it is good but keep in mind that this is mainly good pub food. Don't get the pastas or anything fancy. I usually get the nachos for the appetizer and the turkey sandwich which is fairly cheap and fills you up. Stick to the sandwiches and appetizers and you'll leave home happy. Seating inside is HUGE. We went about 1 1/2 hr before a Mariners game and it was no problem getting a seat. Good atmosphere inside. If you are catching a Mariners or Seahawks game, I would advise to allow a bit of time to make sure you get a seat.

We were a group of 18 going to the Mariner's afternoon game and so decided that the Pyramid would be the perfect place to eat lunch beforehand. FOYER/HOST Since they won't accept reservations on game day, our plan was to arrive close to opening and secure a large enough spot for our party. Not so fast...they also won't seat you until your entire party has arrived. OK, I guess I can understand that policy since it's crazy-busy on game days and they don't want to stiff the guests that are actually there by holding spots for possible no-shows. The problem is, that the first 7 to arrive ended up seated first, and then 10 more were seated separately and far, far away (if you are counting, that means only 1 no-show). 2 stars. DRINKS Our drink order was taken shortly after we were seated and was delivered in a timely fashion. The only downside was a hole in my plastic cup, causing beer to leak everywhere. A new cup (not a new beverage, just a new cup) was quickly provided and I was able to rescue the remainder of my beer (I probably only lost 3 sips or I'd have raised a stink). 2 1/2 stars FOOD We had previewed the menu before heading out, and had made some decisions about what to order. Unfortunately, there is a game day menu that resulted in at least 2 of us having to revise our order. :-( If only the website had indicated that we could have been prepared. Still, we managed to make other choices and placed our order. I ordered the fish and chips w/ salad instead of fries. After a not too long wait, my fish and chips arrived without tartar sauce. I ate my salad while waiting for the rest of the food to arrive. But it didn't. I was able to flag down our waiter and ask for tartar sauce...which arrived right about the time my fish turned cold. Unfortunately, it was AT LEAST 10 minutes after my order arrived before the rest started to filter out. On the whole, I think people were satisfied with the taste and quantity of their food. Kitchen - 2 stars, Food - 3 stars. SERVICE Our server was very friendly and, I would say, fairly attentive despite how busy they were. The one down note is that he offered to split our bill for us and then mixed and matched things incorrectly. It would have been better for us to figure it ourselves. 3 stars OVERALL If there weren't sooo many M's games in a season, I would easily attribute the many small missteps to how busy the restaurant was. But there are 80-something home games, we were there mid-season, and this place should have it figured out how to respond to the increased business on these days. 2 stars. I would go again only if the group I was with really wanted to go. Oh, and I'd still like to try the Cobb Salad (that wasn't available on the game day menu).

Pyramid is one of the best spots to get beer and food before a game at either quest field or safeco. Be warned that it gets extremely packed before games and the wait can be very long to get a table.

  • Henry L.

It's neither bad nor is it good. In terms of food, it certainly doesn't stand out against any other pub grub restaurant. It'd only get 3 stars, but I go there on Tuesdays because I get a pint glass when I order the seasonal. Fortunately, I really like the seasonals. Free glass = extra star!

My friend and I came here on a rainy weekday at around 11:30am and the place was full of a bunch of business type people on their lunch break. It was pretty funny because they were all dressed up in their suits and my friend and I rolled in all dirty from hiking the day before. We looked around and everyone was drinking sodas or lemonades but, who gives a shit, we're on vacation suckas, "two hefs please"!!! The beer of course was outstanding and the food was pretty good too, I got a chicken sandwich, I guess you really cant go wrong with a chicken sandwich!!! We ended up getting really wasted so we decided that doing the brewery tour probably wasn't such a good idea, so we skipped that!!! I definitely plan on coming back here. This is a great place for the true beer enthusiast!!!

Reasonable joint - standard brewhouse burger joint. Nothing fancy on the food, nothing to write home about. Beer is there, and I picked up a seasonal, which was nice. I like the Hefe and the Snow Cap was good too. The wait staff was reasonably attentive and there really isn't anything bad to say. Not a stellar choice, not a bad choice. Try it out - you never know...

Wow, the calamari here was so good! Great companion to beer. Plus the service was really good. Came to check on us several times and made no fuss about making four separate checks for four people.

As a visitor to Seattle, I though the Pyramid Brewery rocked. decently priced brews with an awesome Happy hour...I'm talking about $4 pints and $10 pitchers of fresh brewed drafts. The particular beer I ordered was a high gravity IPA that the waitress said they only had one keg of, it was a rich red in color and had a deep flavor with hints of citrus in the aftertaste, and pow that 9% alcohol will get ya, I was loving it. I did not get any food, but my beer was great and the location seems perfect for Seahawks and Mariners games. I'm a fan of Pyramid brews anyway, so for me this was a nice treat, even though I saw too late their happy hour pitcher specials. Se' la vie.

Prices are a little high, but it is a solid place to go before Mariners games. I prefer a specific spot for each Sporting event. This is my baseball place as it is laid back. The Hawks and Sounders each deserve a rowdier location.

Just went here for lunch with some girlfriends and the service and food were awful. It took over 45 minutes to get our food from the time we sat down yet we were there before the lunch rush. Our server never bothered to check on us much, except for a few soda refills. My friends were disappointed with their fish tacos (changed the recipe and stiffed on portion size), another got about seven french fries with her burger and my chicken was completely overcooked. I'll give 'em one star for some decent veggies though. Overall, our lunch took 1 1/2 hours which is ridiculous, given that we got there early intentionally to avoid a long wait. We all agreed we won't be going back to Pyramid for lunch so don't waste your time like they did ours!

Fun brewery! Had the beer taster, sweet potato fries & the mac & cheese... I love Pyramid's beer & trying some local only varieties was great. The sweet potato fries were yummy. The mac & cheese was edible, but bland even with lots of salt & pepper. Free parking while you eat. Service was disappointing for a brewery, server just plopped the glasses on the taster, had to ask twice to find out which beers were which, lacked the typical server explanations and descriptions of beer tasting in a brewery.

Pyramid is one of my favorite beers to drink. I also love a great burger and pub style food. Having a marriage between these two, I thought this place would be great. Sadly no. There was the selection of Pyramid Beers which was great. But the service was poor. It took forever to order the drinks and food. The waiter was slow and I think changed a third of the way through the dining experience. The atmosphere was typical of a sports bar, loud. I would not want to go here during a Sea hawks or Mariners game because of the crowd and of the horrible driving. We had the highly fattening Crab Dip which was great. I had a Chicken Cobb Salad which didn't really resonate with me. The best part was ordering the Sample of beers: Thunderhead, Draught Pale Ale, Crystal Weizen, Mac's Ale and Amberweizen under $10.

if you've seen one brewery tour you've seen them all. they go something like this...if you'll look over here...you'll see a large vat. if you'll look over there...you'll see another large vat. now DRINK. that's my favorite part. pyramid was a great time and i had fun joking around w/ the staff. show up for the tour at 4...then hang out for a few beers. the sno cap is great...and i like the something or other IPA. the northwest has great beers...you people don't know how spoiled you are. i'm from texas...i'll trade you a case of lone star any day for something microbrewed up here...

Perfect "before the game" spot. Beer is good, but unless you already know what you like, ask them to recommend something. I don't remember what I had last time, but it was really good and based on a recommendation. The food is okay, standard pub fare and burgers, but the appetizers are the standout. Artichokes, blue cheese chips, spicy spinach... I'm getting hungry.

Sweetness! This is the place to be before a Mariner's game if you like to pre-funk. They have a huge beer garden with $5 pints of Pyramid beer. Not to mention the hot dogs and brats that can be had for a few bucks as well. They have such great beer as well, I like the Hefe myself but use your taste buds and explore a little. The food is good inside the brewery/restaurant but the garden is what I come there for. Get here and experience a Mariner's Pre-funk like you've never seen!

The folk I was with thought this place was great! It is a nice beer pub and brewery, I like the beer, it's handy to SafeCo Park, the waitresses were friendly and attentive, but the food is not all that great. I'd give it a slightly above average rating for pub food and a plus for price which is very reasonable. But burgers are nothing to write home about and other fare is decent but not memorable. Bottom line: I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this pub but if in the neighborhood, it's a fine place to drink beer, appetize, and settle in for a while.

My experience here is limited. I spent some time crowded under a canopy in the rain before opening day at Safeco. This canopy and it's subsequent parking lot is their 'beer garden'. I'm not sure where the garden was. Anyways, their beer was decent, only hampered by their inanely stupid cash only policy. Honestly, it seems to me it wouldn't be very difficult to get an iPad with a square reader out there, but whatever, that's their business or lack thereof. Anyways, I'll have to rewrite this review should I ever get a chance to actually sit inside and try the food and atmosphere. Until then, this get's the 'meh'.

This is a fun place for dinner or a quick stop before a game across the street. The beer is fantastic even thought the food isnt really that good. I like trying the seasonal brews, which are all great. I need to try a few more of the pub food items and then can update some more but I can definitely say the garlic fries are boring and the fish tacos dont taste very good, the rice they come with actully taste bad like the seasoning wasnt mixed correctly...on 2 different occasions

Went to Pyramid Alehouse yesterday with a few friends. We ordered burgers and beers. The burgers were $12+ and the beers were $6 (Yikes) EXPENSIVE!!!! With that came slow service while the restaurant was very slow. The server was if they had no food service experience at all. The server had no personality with lack of ambition. We were never asked how our meal was or returned to check on us for refills and what not. The food came about 40 minutes later over cooked, dry and COLD including fries. When is came to cash out the server has quick about getting our check rather than asking us how our meal was. It's too bad.... As I read the rest of the reviews it seems to be a pattern that Pyramid has not addressed which leads me to believe they don't care about their customer base. It seems their windfall from the stadiums is all they care about. WE will NOT return! FYI: You are a Brewery your staff seated me and you served me beer in a plastic cup! Really????? I can see that in the beer garden on game day. There was no game and it was a slow day at your restaurant! LAME!

I went to the Pyramid Alehouse for a special they were having with Aveda for Earth Month. Although the event was wonderful, this review is based on the Pyramid, which still earns 5 stars. The chicken sandwich was very tasty, full of flavor and clearly high quality ingredients. The french fries were average at best, but still fresh and hot when served. Their beers are on the expensive side for sure; however, it is a tourist area and it is nice to support a local brewery. The Pyramid is a great place to get a bite to eat before or after a game and is a place where I will clearly return. Thanks to the Pyramid for a great dining experience, great service and supporting a wonderful cause.

Busy and bustling place! However, despite the fact there was a baseball game tonight, they were able to seat 10 of us in reasonable time! Truly organized compared to some places and very conscientious about checking in with us as we waited in the bar for a large dining table to open up. Service was friendly and impeccable. They offer gluten free buns for burgers. Burgers were tasty but you must tell them how you want it cooked or you'll get probably their standard of a little bit of pink. We shall return!!

We have been here a few times and really enjoyed the food. Lately though they haven't been putting out the same quality food. Service is generally good, though on weeknights they tend to not care about you as much. The boneless wings aren't bad, but can be on the chewy side. The habenaro BBQ sauce is awesome. The pepperoni pizza uses to be really good, but now it is quite greasy, and the sauce and ingredients don't seem as fresh as they used to be. The garlic fries were also really soggy. Bottom line is that the beer is good, vibe is cool, and the food is OK. Definitely better to go on a weekend when it isn't the B crew working.

This place is fast becoming my family's go to place when I'm in town visiting & there to catch a game. During most sport activites at the Clink or Safeco, they've got a beer garden going on (cash only) to deal with the extra peeps coming in. They also have corn hole, "beer" (aka water) pong and music bumpin'. And, as busy and popular as it is, the wait isn't terrible and they get people in and out. Last time what seemed like it'd be HOURS of waiting ended up being 45 minutes. Service is always quick even if they're running around like mad devils. Food wise, I've yet to be let down. I'll start with those garlic fries of theirs - do NOT miss these. We get them every single time and yum. If we're just munching, we'll throw on an order of their nachos with chicken and those are a win too. I've had the honey cilantro chicken - well cooked, moist and a tasty sauce. The burgers are always a big hit with my family as well, and last time I tried their margherita pizza. I'd like a bit more sauce on it but overall it was perfectly cooked and I even ate all the crust. Beers - yup, you've probably had their beers before so nothing new. I'm a fan of the Thunderhead IPA and for a lighter beer I go for the apricot.

I am, in general, a fan of Pyramid Brewing. On this particular visit, we and some friends stopped in for lunch and had a nice experience. The service was good, friendly and prompt. Fairly accommodating of the small children in our group. The beer, which is all anyone really shows up for, was great. Nothing quite like fresh beer from the source. The food was decent, fairly standard brewery/bar fare. If I'm ever in the greater Seattle area and need a bite and a cold beer, I'd stop in here again. They have a parking lot, but I think it's a dual purpose pay lot for events, so I'm not sure if it's always open for restaurant use.

So, this place is what happens when there is no love in the brewing anymore. For the Hef, the only thing I could think of when I drank it was dish water. It even was served with a lemon who any self respecting craft beer lover knows that that is a beer sin. The blonde ale reminded me of Budweiser. No beer should be reminiscent of Bud. It had a rice flavor which unless it's purposefully done, should not taste like that. It's a craft beer no no. The draught pale ale on nitro reminded my wife and I of house hold cleaner. Enough said... We had ten tastings this night and I could keep going. But I won't. I also had the IPL. That's the only beer that I didn't think was bad. It had a decent taste to it and it had a decent balance between hops and malt. It's not good to describe the beer as a good intro to IPA considering that it has a different taste then IPA and that it's a lager and IPA's are ales. The only thing similar to the two types of beers is the India and Pale in the name. Anyway... The food was alright too... Had the chicken flautas. It first came out with an ingredient that wasn't listed on the menu. It was a chipotle mayo or aioli that was drizzled all over them. Sucks cause I hate mayo. Should be mentioned on the menu that they are going to put that on. It's a kind of serious thing cause people could be allergic to certain things. Then when we asked for another order, it seemed like a tolerated gesture then a sincere fix. And the response when brought back out was, "here you go... Is that better?". Nice... Best thing about that place was leaving.

Good beer and food at a terrific location. Across street from Safeco Field. Plan ahead though if you want seating. Very, very crowded two hours prior to every game. So don't expect to get seating at that point.

happy hour! came here to meet up with an old friend while visiting seattle. i didn't even know pyramid was from seattle. the restaurant is literally across the street from the safeco field (where the mariners play), so i can imagine how busy it gets during baseball season. but on the evening we came, there wasn't a crowd, and it was a very chill and relaxing atmosphere. instead of getting the sampler of beers because you can pretty much get Pyramid at the stores anyway, I just ordered off the happy hour menu. while spending hours here chatting and reminiscing with my friend, we enjoy a few pints of beer, their lumpia appetizer (from the happy hour menu) and of course, since it was my BF's birthday, i snucked in an order of their habanero brownie with mexican caramel sauce sundae while he was in the restroom. small gesture, but he appreciated it. especially after he took a big mouthful of the brownie and was surprised by the spicy kick of the habanero! i usually dont order desserts but i had a couple bites of the brownie and....wow....it was pretty damn delicious! come here for happy hour, stay awhile and have a few pints, the servers here are so nice, they won't even bother you unless you need something and wont try to rush you out either.

Stars are for their great beer. Try their apricot ale, that's the best one as you can see from everyone agreeing from the reviews below. Minus stars for their food. Wasn't really feeling it. Nothing really stood out for me. The Margherita pizza was ehh...the fish in chips was ok..the main entree salads are HUGE...I think going in there for a beer and some apps before/after a game should be good enough. Service was friendly and location right at 1st ave in front of Safeco Field.

Yum! One of my favorite places to pregame before a Mariner or Seahawk game. The Crystalweizen was my absolute favorite but I don't think they have made it in a few years. My 2nd favorite is the ever so tasty Snocap. Its winter in a glass. As far as food goes, the restaurant itself has some nice burgers and pub style options that go nicely with drinking beer. But really, if you are going to a brewery, you are going for the beer.

Went for superbowl 49 also my 30th birthday. Started great. Then security was unbelievably rude... He treated me like a drunk although all i had was coffee at that point. What happened was they were above capacity my husband and I went outside to smoke and we were told we could not go back into our table for our belonging and we needed to leave because of the occupancy level. But it wasn't explained the security guy just yelled at us to leave. Well we kinda threw a stink because like I said our belongings were inside. We demanded the manager and she was wonderful! She pulled her staff aside to speak with him about his demeanor, and how to handle customers. She then promptly covered our tab. She really saved this review. She took all the time necessary to ensure we left as happy as possible. We still left early (1st quarter) but at least we didn't leave pissed. Our waitress was great and the food and beer are pretty damn tasty. Because of the management we will be back. ~ the bar mngr was kinda a dusch but he had been dealing with drunks all day and because the other mngr we excused his shortness.

I experienced both the inside and outside of Pyramid this time. We came for lunch before a Mariner's game and were quickly seated upstairs in the back back back corner, next to a bunch of the opposing team's fans and a bachelor party, complete with bachelor dressed in a pea pod costume. What had we done wrong to get banished into this exile? Had an amber from a guest brewery (yum), and shared the margherita pizza with a side salad for lunch. Nothing to complain about the food, except that if you're a vegetarian you won't find much on the menu that can go in your belly, unless you like veggie patties on burgers. I find those are usually disappointing. And that maybe one little pizza doesn't need a full head of roasted garlic on it in whole-clove form. (OK, maybe I DID have some complaints about the food.) Then it was outside to the beer garden to await game time. Would you believe that pints are now $6.50 apiece? Scandalous! And they only give you 4 beers to choose from. Outrageous! But the hefeweizen was decently good. I don't know, Pyramid. You might be conveniently located on game day, but I don't think I'll feel obligated to come visit next time.

Pyramid Hef is one of the few commercial micro brews I'm happy to see sold nationwide. I'm also a big fan of the apricot. The restaurant is just meh. But I never came to the brewery for the food anyway. SERVICE: 8/10 AMBIANCE: 6/10 FOOD: 6/10 PRICE: 6/10 UNIQUENESS: 6/10 OVERALL SCORE:64 Service: Graded by the "Keep my cup full principle". Ambiance: Pretty self-explanatory Food: A high food score does not always indicate it is a place for foodies. It is weighted based upon the establishment - thus bar food can receive a high score Price: Price is graded based upon what I believe is fair value for the food you are receiving. A high score does not necessarily indicate the establishment is cheap. Uniqueness: Higher scores indicate desire to return. The food is great!!! The pot roast and the nachos are my favorite!!! Don't go there for big parties if you want separate checks. They will not do it. Last time I was there for a big group they over charged my card. I found this out when I got home. The receipt I had and what came on my card were two different things. The manager did a poor job handling it stating that sometimes they make mistakes. He wasn't helpful and didn't care that it cause my account to go into overdraft. I have a hard time going back now.

I usually come here for the Beer Garden before M's games. Cash only out there, but a good selection and cheaper beers than in the stadium. They've got corn hole and other games set up outside and sometimes a food stand is open as well. Great place to hang out before a game and laugh at the girls who think heels are a good idea at Mariners game. The restaurant itself is huge. There is a long wait on game days but once you get in, they can crank it out pretty fast because they know everyone is in a rush. Love their blonde and hef. They are good at their fruity beers here. I'll be back before my next Ms game.

$5.50 for a beer in a brewpub is over priced IMO. For that reason alone I won't go back, at least on any regular basis...it was a Saturday, maybe I'll try it again during happy hour. The beer was tasty, the burger was good, the fries were good. The waiter was great.

The beer garden gets crazy busy before a Mariner's game, and the line for beer is usually freakishly long. With that said, it is a fun place to hang out before the game - nothing brings people together like sports and booze. I usually like to go inside for the cider beer (they have both apple and pear), but the restaurant is usually so packed that we have to hang out in the beer garden (where they don't sell their cider beers). Just this past weekend though, my friends and I were able to get a table inside. We ordered pitchers of the cider beers and the apricot ale (which I also love), and an order to beef nachos and garlic fries. I didn't try any of the nachos but the garlic fries with chipotle aioli were great. (Don't shoot me, but I actually prefer these to the stadium garlic fries.) All in all, I recommend this place to people that need to kill time (and want to buy cheaper alcohol) before the game.

In most cities, a Pyramid would get 4 stars and be a god-sen. But in Seattle, Pyramid is the Home Depot of brew pubs. Its big and easy to get to, so it will get business. This location survives due to tourist and M's , seahawk and convention center crowds. But for beer fiends and foodies, its nothing but a let down. Menu is boring. Food is overpriced and bland. 15 years ago, Pyramid was fun. The most disappointing aspect of Pyramid is that their IPA is nothing like it used to be. No longer the big hop bomb it was. Now a high gravity bitter brew without much floral notes. Pyramid today is about the same level as the Rock Bottom chain.

I come here often with colleagues from work as I love the Pyramid Heffeweizen. For food, I had the garlic fries and the buffalo chicken sandwich which are some of my usual favorites. it is a good place to grab a drink after work and with above average food and service. I am definitely going back for more..

This is one of those places that's frustrating to review, because you feel like most of the demerits you want to assign to the place are probably things that bug everyone who works there. In a nutshell, PA falls short because they aim too low. They want to please the widest possible audience, so they don't try to do anything distinctive. This has become the case with their beers over the last 20 years, and it affects their pub too. First, the good: The place is gorgeous. It's got a cool location. They had it before Safeco Field opened, too--score for them for sure. There's plenty of light and it has an airy feel, the materials beautifull echo the fact that it's in a great reclaimed warehouse space. Nice patio. Lots of cool separate dining rooms. Super motivated and fast-paced front of the house staff. Focused and diligent kitchen staff. If I ran this place, I would love the facility and I would be completely content that the staff did everything asked of them. I am sure they hustle their asses off when it's busy, and probably make bank doing it. But, the bad. Oy. Well, not oy. More of a zzzz. The beers are as tame and subdued as each respective style will allow. Usually shipped with no obvious flaws, but no obvious gambles on building a personality or a bold flavor profile for the beer, either. The food is the same. Lots of Sysco packaged processed product. You see the cooks work their fingers to the bone prepping up a shift, but what's on the plate tends to feel like it just fell out of a bag into the microwave. The burgers are the worst offenders--fresh veg, sure, but all generic varieties and sterile hothouse grown. Blandest bun in Gai's line. Beef puck in between all that. Bright yellow mustard. Looks like a cafeteria burger all the way. Nothing wrong with it from a technical or cleanliness standpoint, but...drastic shortcomings of ingredients. So the bottom line is that here you have one of the top 10 or 20 coolest buildings in Seattle to have a bar in, with a perfectly fine staff serving so-so beers and so-so food. I have no complaints getting dragged in here, but this town certainly has way better on offer. Could they fix all this by trying to transform themselves into a gourmet eatery? And should they try? You know, I think they'd lose their core audience if they tried. It's just not a place to get worked up about if you want creativity reflected by the cooks and brewers.

Food is average, not really anything to be wowed by. The beer selection is decent. Perhaps it's more of a personal taste, but Pyramid isn't my favorite brewery. Snowcap was good when I had it in the winter, and I got to keep the free glasses. Our waitress was kind of slow and not polite at all. She actually tried to rob us of our free pint glasses! I only knew they were giving them away because of a poster on the wall near the bathroom. The waitress acted as if it was news to her.

Came in for a beer and quick bite to eat a hour before a sold out M's game. We were told the wait was about 20 minutes but were seated after just 5 minutes. Our server was very quick and got our beers going right away. We opted for a couple appetizers and chose the chicken nachos, chorizo dip, and chicken tenders. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering (we were all pretty surprised at how quick they were considering they were packed). The food was all good, the chorizo dip was the best of the three apps. We were very impressed with the speedy service and the food as well as beer was great. I'll stop in before any game.

I love to come to Pyramid before a game - M's, hawks, Sounders, you name it. The restaurant is always too busy so me and my friends usually just stick to the beer garden. This place gets packed but thank god they actually had porcelain toilets housed in the back of the garden and not porta-potties!! So thanks for that :D Nothing like a cold delicious micro brewed beer and some sports! I like their amber beer the best I think.

I would give this place a 3.5 if they did half stars. Came here for dinner with the family. I ordered the pyramid burger which had bacon and onion rings on top. The burger was pretty good, I liked the bacon but the onion rings are just ok. For one thing they were kind of cold and the batter just kind of comes off the ring. But they have pretty good food nonetheless.

Worst experience ever! Our "Big Climb" team met back up at Pyramid for drinks and lunch after we had participated (An event sponsored by Pyramid). There were 12 people in our party. We were seated upstairs with no issue. Our waitress came and took our drink orders. 30 minutes later she came back to take our food orders. After an HOUR of waiting for food and not seeing our waitress, she finally stops by the table. When asked about of food, she assures us all that it is on its way. She asks how we are, we say "We are starving" her reply was "Me too, I haven't even had lunch yet". An additional 30 minutes later food starts making it to the table, then stops. With half the table receiving their meal, the other half waits, and waits and waits. 45 minutes later, the second half of the orders come out. Not rocket science, it was nachos and the sorts. HOWEVER the second half of the food is ICE COLD! the cheese on the Nachos is hard as a rock and cold. We indicate to the waitress this is not ok, we ask for the manager. He doesn't even apologize he indicates that they are busy and it is the waitresses first day and because they are so busy she isn't able to job shadow. WHAT!? His manager comes out and ends up comping our food. Like I said worst experience there ever! Our team will participate in the Big Climb, however we will not be meeting up at Pyramid after.

Perfect place to go before, during and after Mariners, Seahawks & Sounders games. Located across the street from the stadiums. A bowl of the creamery clam chowder is pretty filling goodness with the oyster cookies provided. Nachos are a must have for a group of hungry souls. The smoked salmon burger that has french fries was seasoned perfectly with so much flavor. Great variety of beverages!!!

I love going to Pyramid. Why? Because it means I'm going to a Mariner's game! So, if you wanna get some decent pub food this is a good place to go pre & post game. But wait, what's the main raison d'être for Pyramid??? The ales, of course! At Safeco, the brews can cost upwards of $7-8. So, if you wanna economically get your swerve on before the game, this is where Pyramid shines. Their pints are around $3.50, and they have a wide selection of brews to choose from. I personally like getting a sampler and sharing it with my home skillets. One of the real cool things to do on a fair-weather Game Day is to get to the Ale House early. This is because Pyramid generally has a beer garden to chill out at. There's usually some crazy M's fans, chill music, nice weather, and of course tasty beverages. Lastly, going to Pyramid post-game has become a bit of a habit for us. I mean what better way to wait out the traffic jam after a game, right?

Happy Hour's great! $5 for a platter of cheese, crackers, dried cranberries, olives, and nuts and $3 Heff's. Love their apricot ale! They also give complimentary brewery tours everyday at 4pm....however, there's not much to see since they're not really brewing/bottling at the location anymore. *awww shucks* Large televisions around the bar area.

Oh, Pyramid. Your food is like your beer: average at best, uninspired and overpriced. I had the trout special- it was edible, if a bit dry and with more than a few hidden bones. Service was slow too. If you're looking for a fun microbrewery with delicious food, skip this place and go to Maritime in Ballard or Elysian down the street. ***UPDATE: Down-graded from 2 to 1 star because of severe FOOD POISONING. UGH. AWFUL. STAY AWAY!!!***

This is a review of the Pyramid Alehouse on Gilman St. in Berkeley. Nice decor. Host ignored me when I came in - was on a call booking a catering and couldn't even acknowledge my presence by anything as slight as a lift of an eyebrow or pointing at the phone. Really rude. I was by myself and probably would have been better off getting a table but I was directed to the bar, where I was assured "the service would be just as good". This was at 1 pm on a Wednesday. The place was practically empty. I got an iced tea (not a beer person, just wanted lunch, and had just picked up a part for my motorcycle several blocks away.) When the waiter came back with the tea, I wasn't ready to order and was then ignored for at least 15-20 minutes. I probably memorized the menu in that time. I ordered an appetizer--cup of the chicken 3-bean chili. It was fantastic! I ordered an entree of fish tacos. They were bland, the fish was overcooked, and the tortillas were soggy. It came with a salad, which I had ordered with vinaigrette. The salad was overdressed and the dressing was overpowered by the vinegar. The server said they had complaints about it before, that it was made in-house. I couldn't even eat it. Someone there needs to read a cookbook or, better yet, take a cooking class. Or, even taste the food that is going out. Something! I wasn't expecting anything better than bar food but bar food doesn't have to be bad! Long and short, I'm probably not going back.

Came here before a baseball game last August and enjoyed their beer and a burger & sandwich. Decided to try it again this past weekend as we had a couple of hours to kill before catching our train back to Portland. It was a beautiful sunny & warm day so had hoped to sit outside, but took one look at the tall metal chairs and decided they looked mighty uncomfortable for 2 hours worth of sitting. So we opted for a table just inside the door from the patio so we could still get some natural light & fresh air. We told our server our plans -- we'd be hanging out for the first hour just drinking beer, then would order food later. He was still very (maybe overly) attentive and kept asking every 10 minutes or so if we needed anything. While killing time we discovered the free wifi and since we had our netbooks were able to catch up on emails. It was actually both a Mariners & Sounders game day so a fluctuating crowd of fans. Also on game days they offer a more limited menu but still extensive enough to satisfy most tastes (appetizers like nachos, plus pizzas, salads, burgers, sandwiches). I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich with cole slaw & fries and my boyfriend had the grilled salmon sandwich. Both were big & delicious! Our server was also super nice and brought me full size tasting glasses of two beers plus two ciders and didn't charge me for them. I enjoyed all of them with my sandwich. Overall this is a great place to hang out before or after a game. They also have a huge adults only outdoor area by the parking lot that opens at set times on game days. Unfortunately they don't have seating in that area.

Salmon burger was not good. Calamari is the "big piece" kind. Salmon would be better if grilled fillet instead of "tuna fish" style mixed. Beers are always good. Parking is free.

I came here for the first time after my team finished the Great Urban Race scavenger hunt. We were sweaty and exhausted and this place was close by and air-conditioned, so it was the easy choice. We split the nachos and garlic fries--which were just so-so, and I ordered the fish and chips. They were quite possibly the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The breading was incredibly thick that I felt like I was eating bread instead of fish. I actually ended up ripping the fish out of the breading, pulling out the cod and eating it separately. It's a convenient location for pre-game meals, but you can get better food for much cheaper at the many food carts/trucks outside of the stadiums.

Going to a Mariner's game? Before and after this is the place to be. Cheap beers in the beer garden (if it's nice enough outside:) and a fun ambiance. I've never eaten anything here besides the Nachos but how can you screw that up? I'm all about the Curve Ball seasonal beer and fun times here once baseball season starts!

Meh, it's alright, I've been to better breweries in the area. Went here last night for the first time and was slightly disappointed. The manager was really nice since he came over to see how our dinner was, but the rest of the wait staff was so-so. They could smile more, lol. The location is really good, they have cool parking lot events before games when it's nice out, and their beer is good. The brewery is alright, there are a lot of options options on the menu, and their prices are good. The food was mediocre, didn't have much taste to it (the fish 'n chips was overly fried), and the philly dip was alright, but barely had any meat on it. It was a sad sandwich, because a happy sandwich is loaded with meat, and that it was not, lol. I'm sure I'll come here to grab some drinks before some games again but I doubt I'll be eating in the restaurant though.

I really like the food in the restaurant especially the fish and chips. I also like the beer sampler they offer also. The service is sometimes spotty and it feels a little sticky in the seats sometimes. I usually stay away from the restaurant on gamedays because of this. I do love the beer garden on gamedays. They have great dogs and good beers. The fave place to prefunk before M's games.

Good beers on tap. Had their hefeweisen (recommended) as well another limited wheat ale (not as memorable). Also ordered chicken strips, which comes with a wing sauce, which were fine. Have had better, but have also have had worse. Overall, decent brewery worth checking out.

As one of the forerunners of the Northwest microbrew revolution, Pyramid was at the height of its popularity when I first moved to Seattle and their seasonal Snowcap Ale was one of my first beer crushes as I learned the joys of craft brewing. It's slipped a bit since then, as their production increased and market expanded. I'll still pick up a sixer of Snowcap every winter to see if it reclaims any of its former glory (it hasn't) but otherwise I take a pass on their beers in favor of smaller batch, fresher brews. Their SoDo Alehouse, however, hasn't lost any ground with age. The spacious former warehouse is done up in the typical exposed structural members and wood manner that balances showcasing the brewery operations with creating a comfortable dining space. The food is generally pretty decent NW pub fare, and Pyramid beers on tap are really quite drinkable compared to the retail offerings. But the real reason to go to Pyramid between April and September is the beer garden. What better place to meet up before an M's game and quaff a few pints at only moderately inflated prices than a giant, parking lot sized open air bar? Even at its most crowded they have things dialed in to keep the lines moving and thirsty crowds happy. Apart from that, I wouldn't say it's worth going out of your way. There's nothing outstanding enough about the food, beer, or restaurant itself to make it a destination.

  • Kelly K.

Husband and I stopped in on a Sunday evening on a non mariners/seahawks/sounders day, so no crowds to worry about. We sat at the bar (by choice) and there was no wait. Our server was really friendly, and made some great recommendations. We settled on fish and chips and blue cheese burger. Our food arrived quickly and was awesome! I find this place a bit irritating during mariners games, but I'm always in the beer garden and it's more the drunk A-holes than the staff that get under my skin, but I love it here when there's nothing going on at the clink or safeco. With the reasonable prices, we'll be back!

Oh my goodness. I haven't been here since the Alehouse opened. If what I experienced today is the norm then I haven't missed a thing. I can give my "Curve Ball" beer good marks and our server decent marks (cute and attentive though moved a little too fast for sincere attentiveness). Our food items don't score so high. My friend ordered a salad that turned to be a lot of tortilla chips on a bed of lettuce with some skewers of meat. No dressing to be seen. Poor menu description on this one. Our server was kind enough to replace that "salad" with a real salad (cobb) which was better. I ordered the mushroom burger which I figured was a safe shot but the burger arrived dry and I had to bum some thousand island dressing from my friend's salad to down it. We voted a hard thumbs down on the food. Then my friend excused herself to the ladies room and came back disgusted saying the ladies room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for DAYS. If the ladies room was in such a state what did the men's bathroom look like? Hmm. The ladies restroom was a disaster (hand towels all over the place, toilet tissue strewn all over the stalls, over flowing toilets, stall door locks that don't work, etc). We visited the ladies room together before leaving and found that somebody cleaned up the overflowing toilets but the stalls and room in general remained a wreck. Decided to take our hard-earned dollars elsewhere in the future.

I've been drinking at the Pyramid Alehouse for as long as I've been drinking, sometimes in the main alehouse and sometimes in the beer garden before events. Over the years the quality of the food and the beer has gradually gone downhill and yesterday that decline hit a point to which I think I'll be writing them off as a place to drink completely. We did the Sounders/Mariners doubleheader last night and drank quite a few beers throughout the day. We eventually wandered over to Pyramid before the Mariners game still in the mood to drink a few more but the beer at Pyramid was so disgusting that it ended our drinking night. After that it was water all the way. None of us even wanted to smell another beer after trying to put down that putrid swill. And it didn't help that there was the rank smell of sewage wafting over the beer garden from their bathrooms in the parking lot. It was overwhelming and disgusting. I know that Pyramid has gone through some pains recently. A few ownerships changes seem to have taken it's toll. I used to consider their Hefeweizen and Apricot Ales as my favorite beers, but not anymore. Now this once solid brewery sits in the same shape as it's namesake, totally in ruins and overrun with tourists.

I've been to Pyramid a few times and have always come away happy. Their beer has always been one of my favorite local options, so no difficulty in satisfying me there, and their food, while not brilliant, is pretty solid pub fare. Despite its size this place can get ridiculously crowded, especially on game days, but overall Pyramid is a great place to grab a bite and a beer.

  • Kat C.

Great place for food and beers when Mariner tickets are $150 each! There are plenty of big flat screens scattered around the restaurant so you can watch the game and have great food too. Apricot ale is wonderful With the cheesecake. And the spicy brownie is a crazy surprise, didn't think I would like it ended up loving it. Garlic fries are better than advertised. Will go there again the next time I get the chance.

I stopped with coworkers in for a beer and apps while in town on business. They have a great location by the stadiums and a fantastic atmosphere. I'm not a bug fan of their beer but I had a scotch ale that was pretty good. The pretzels were decent. We had great service at the bar! Our bartender was helpful and friendly and had good recommendations. It's worth a visit, especially on game day.

  • Ryan K.

Great place to grab a beer and something to eat before the Mariners, Hawks, or Sounders games! It usually pretty packed so the beer garden is the best way to go and you can get a bite as well as a cold one. Their beers on tap are delicious and refreshing! If you get a chance to sit down inside the menu is classic all-american food that pairs well with any of their tap selections.

  • Jonathan C.

Honestly the food here is pretty average nothing really all that spectacular to come here and eat. The beer is really good though, the only thing about it is I came here before a Sounder's game and they take all their deals away on game day which I think is a little backwards thinking but I'm sure that they do this in order to make more money. Overall really good location if you are really early to a game and want to kill time. A lot of people do this, as I was there like every table had people just watching tv and only order one dish for like 5 people to share. So not the best place to go on game day late. Had the Chicken Wings and it was overpriced for what you got, don't be fooled on the menu it says a pound but you for sure fall way short of that mark. The fries with rosemary and garlic was pretty good and they do give you quite a bit of food. For drinks my girlfriend and I had the Alehouse Amber and Apricot Ale and the Crispin Hard Apple Cider and all of them were very good. The only negative like I said is that since it was game day each drink was 6 bucks,.. basically what you pay inside the stadium.

I wanted so bad to be impressed by the food here. The beer is wonderful of course but unfortunately the salmon burger I ordered was disappointingly tasteless. I should've mentioned it to our server but this was right before a mariners game and the restaurant was packed and all the staff were obviously overloaded with work. I don't know if I'd go here again.

I came here a few months ago while visiting Seattle for a weekend. It happened to be the weekend of the World Series, and we were looking for a place to watch the game. One of the bartenders ended up spraying bleach on my shirt when she was trying to clean the back of the bar, and the manager was more than accommodating! He sent me the money to replace my shirt no questions asked! I've been the Pyraimds in California as well and never had such a positive experience. I would definitely return!

During the Summer I love to pre-game Mariner games in the parking lot at Pyramid. Before every game they block off the parking lot; play music and lay out a couple of Cornhole Games. The atmosphere is great and so is the beer. When it comes to the beer I really like the Apricot Ale. I don't like sweet beers or cocktails. However, the apricot is subtitle--and I would not describe the over all flavor palate as sweet. I will be back for future games. Go Mariners!!

I'll keep this short, Pyramid Brewing has some phenomenal beers, and is extremely worth visiing before a Mariner's game. The service was great, and the venue was exceptional. I'm also a huge fan of the swag variety in the shop. I'd like to specifically give a shoutout to Pyramid's high level of customer service. I have never had a brewery, much less a company in general, give the high level of service like I received at Pyramid Brewing. Stop by and enjoy the Oatmeal Stout, you won't be dissapointed in your experience. If you ever have a negative experience, get in touch with Mia and she'll make sure things are made right.

Pyramid gives me this weird vibe of "We're kind of an independent brewery but we also have 2 other partners (Portland Brewing and Kona Brewing) so we're sort of in that middle-ground not-quite sure what to do with our restaurant side" While on paper the menu looks interesting, it's not quite bar food (especially given the price) and the execution leaves a bit to be desired. Perhaps they just need a chef to slap the BOH crew around a bit? Perhaps they just need to realize that people really do love cheap street food and people really just want something to nibble on when they drink? That said, I come here for beer. The star of every brewery should be beer. Their selection is solid, with the Apricot Wheat being particularly wonderful to drink. Their in-house exclusives don't disappoint, even if they don't push the envelope.

Had the cheese and bacon jam stuffed jalepenos, as well as the salmon sliders. The jalepenos were hot, but delicious. The sliders were tasty, but were kind of dry after a few bites. Also ordered a beer sampler, 5 draws in 3 oz glasses for $10. Can't beat that.

Pyramid Brewery I feel like you definitely get what you expect. Decent beer, decent food, but nothing amazing. However it doesn't disappoint either! Great place to grab a bite before a game or event with how close it is. With tons of seating available to boot the likelihood of waiting for a table even on a game day is pretty low. Recommend giving the wings a try with a couple beers of your choice.

Ladies night would have not been the same if we did not start our night at Pyramid Breweries! Just before the Mariners game begun my girls and I stopped in for a bite to eat and libation. I had the Pub fish sandwich and the other 7 ladies I came with ordered everything else. The menu is light on game days but there is plenty of signature dishes to choose from. They serve American food. The pub fish was delicious! It features a beer battered cod with tarter sauce and the regular burger fixings. Although, I enjoyed my selection I couldnt help but to be jealous of the chicken nachos to my right. They looked amazing and my friend confirmed it! I will return to this Sodo district gem and certainly recommend it :)!

Great BEER. oh yea th3 food is pretty good too. A seafood inspired menu for sure. They have some really good chowder. The calamari is pretty decent and not too chewy. OK back to the BEER. They have several of their own brews that are very tasty. This is an a2esome.place to go before a game or concert and go to the beer garden in the summer.

I always love coming here after an event at Safeco or Century Link. I tried the CDA (seasonal) on draft, and I found it pretty good. Ordered a BBQ chicken, pizza, no complaints. I have tried their pulled pork, also pretty good. This place seems to be always busy. Which is good, I have never had trouble getting a seat. Service is always pretty decent.

This is a great spot to go before a Mariners game. I typically come here every time just because it's really convenient. The food is mediocre. Nothing to get excited over. Their hummus is pretty good, last night I got their chorizo dip & I could only eat a quarter of it because it had so much grease pooled in it. I don't drink, but they have a large beer selection that they brew. Service is 50/50. They're usually always really busy, but depending on the server, it's sometimes really great or sometimes they forget about you & check on you maybe once if you're lucky. Like I said, it's super close to the stadium (right across the street), which is why I go so often. If it wasn't within walking distance, I wouldn't go out of my way. Nor would I suggest coming here if I wasn't going to a baseball game.

  • Roxy B.

This was my first time at Pyramid so I was pretty excited. I had the clam chowder and it was DELICIOUS. Also tried the Apricot Ale and sampled some of my friends beer flight. His selections were pretty good. The brew definitely did not disappoint. The only downside was that the service was super slow, even though it didn't look all that busy. The staff kind of ignored us for the most part, which sucks for them because we probably would've ordered more. The total experience was just ok.

  • Ryan B.

On a Gameday (Seahawks, Sounders, or M's), you just want to be able to grab a bite, a beer, and get out before the first whistle/pitch. For Pyramid, the beer is fantastic (every possible type and variety you could want to try), the food is okay, but what really stands out here is the service. For a packed house, our drinks were never empty and waiting, and our checks were ready to go when needed. The beer garden is great too when it's nice out, but if not, I'd recommend trying to get a table in the upper loft for some of the better servers...

  • Jenni M.

It's a great place to come before baseball/football/soccer games and not pay stadium prices, but I don't think anything is really standout about the food or drink menu. I've been here several times and the food has just been ok, not amazing. The garlic fries are pretty tasty and your best bet for food is getting a burger. I'm not a huge fan of the pizza or the fish and chips. The happy hour menu is good, except that they remove happy hour if there's any Mariners, Sounders, or Seahawks games going on. I like to go to the beer garden before games for $5.50 beers, but it's cash only so it's kind of a pain to make sure I have cash beforehand. They've got tents set up in the event the Seattle rain is in town. They also have cornhole set up so that's kind of fun. The location to the light rail and the stadiums is great. One thing I love about Pyramid is that they are great when it comes to large groups. I've been here several times with a group of almost 20 people and the service has been great. They are always on point with food and drink service and willing to split checks at the end. Well done!

What a fun place to hang out before the Mariners game! Great people watching as well. I'm in love with the Apricot Ale and their Fish & Chips were tasty. I recommend getting the fries well done if you like crispy fries. We will be back next time we head out to Safeco Park or CenturyLink Field!

Very good chorizo dip and awesome clam chowder. The chowder was very thick and delicious. Service is friendly and prompt. Well, the beers, of course are yummy, but we all know that. Great place to unwind after a day at the convention area

Love that this place is across the field from Safeco Field, but the packed tables and long waits make the outdoor enclosed beer garden a better bet than inside (when the weather cooperates). Front of the house seems understandably overwhelmed. They are pressed hard by customers, and could probably use another person sorting out customers. May return if in the area.

Man oh man did this place have a rough night the other night. I don't know what was happening in the back of the house but something was definitely up. We got to our table and our drink order was taken right away. It then took about 15 minutes for someone to come over and take our order. I ordered a chipotle pasta while my friend ordered a hamburger. About 30 minutes later, both of our food arrived...mine was edible but my friend who ordered a medium cooked hamburger ended up getting one that was completely charred. He decided to send it back and when we looked at the kitchen, there were about a dozen meals sitting under the heat lamps waiting to go out that were just sitting there. I'm convinced that his was just sitting under the heat lamp - it was probably medium at one time or another. Anyway, it took about another 30 - 45 minutes for him to get his burger. When it finally arrived, it was just as charred as the first one and had a strange sauce on it that he didn't request. He decided to return it again and just opted not to get anything. Normally I'd give this place one star but the manager came over and addressed the issue - he asked if my friend wanted anything else and he said no and apologized profusely. I figured that he would comp his meal but didn't realize that our whole bill was comped. It would have been helpful for someone to tell us this because we spent a bunch of time trying to get someone's attention to get the check and were finally told that we didn't have one. Come here during the summer pre-Mariner's games for the beer garden...that's what they do best.

I came here for the beer, and felt like no one wanted to give me any. Took forever and a day (25 minutes), before anyone decided to come to our table after we've been waving the uninterested-to-serve-you staff down. We ordered a beer flight, and when our order came, she rushed away without telling us which beers were which. Waved her down again to ask what they were, and after further tasting, we realized she didn't even tell us the beers correctly. I'd give it one star based on service, and the extra star is for good beer. Why was that so hard for you Pyramid server. Why. Why did you have to ruin Pyramid hefes for me.

BEER. Who doesn't love beer!? And delicious local NW beer at that. The brewery across from the stadium & field has a nice sized parking lot and is a good stop for a brew right before an event. Although I haven't really tried the food at Pyramid it looks decent enough. With rotating seasonals and their standard beers like the Apricot, IPA, Hef, or many others...it's always a good choice. Plenty of seating inside with the bar, restaurant, and even an upstairs. TVs for your viewing pleasure if you can't make the game.

My first review! Have heard mixed reviews about Pyramid Brewing and have wanted to come and try it out for myself. I am really glad I did! Pyramid Brewing had me wow'ed upon first looks alone. I love the atmosphere and the feel. Like most people trying out a brwery the first time, you want to try the different offerings before you settle in with one choice. Our waitress was more than accommodating with letting us try 4 beers before I made a firm decision to go with the Hefeweizen. Its a nice, smooth, refreshing, wheat beer. Only 5.2% and offered year round. Pyramid's food menu is also very wide. I wanted to try out a few different menu items such as the Rueben, the combo pizza, the ultimate burger, and the pastrami. Thankfully our waitress was incredibly helpful and ready to offer her suggestions, otherwise we would have definitely taken home a lot of food! We went with the combo pizza and the ultimate burger based on the waitress' suggestions. I am very glad we chose to go with them because our food was delicious! She also kindly suggested should we return we try their wings which is paired with their home made hot sauce. Overall, this place is a 5 star, definite must try, will recommend to everyone who listens kind of place!

I don't venture here during game day, too crowded. Brought a Japanese delegation and took over a party room. Service was good, food was good. Salmon BLT's were delicious, burgers are always solid. I had a greek salad with chicken, it wasn't anything special. Apricot beer is so good!

If you are a fan of any pyramid beer, I'd highly suggest stopping in. Its right near the mariners ballpark (so could be a convenient spot to stop in around a game). They have lots of interesting beers on tap and many that are only availability at the brewery. Generally, there is a stellar variety of wheat beers, in lots of interesting flavors. They also have a great trivia through brainstormers every wednesday.

Pyramid Alehouse was exactly as previous Yelp reviews averaged. Just that, average. I mean, we were pleased they had plenty of complimentary parking that we were allowed to use for our concert at the Showbox after dinner (front and back lots). Plus, the vibe here is good, and the service is great (thank you, Elena!). But, the food! Oh, how the food left us underwhelmed. My GF BBQ chicken pizza was tepid when it came out, but I was so hungry that I couldn't bear to send it back. The crust was chewy and the pie was too saucy, causing the cheese to slide around. My brother ordered the same pizza with a traditional crust and his had the same problem. Hubby's burger was decent, but my sister-in-law's fish and chips were so greasy that the flavor was sacrificed. The fries needed salt - lots of salt! SIL and I wished later that we had seen the sweet potato fries on the menu, which we didn't until they came walking by us on someone else's plate. I enjoyed my pint of cider and the table seemed to enjoy their beers. Pyramid wets the appetite, and will probably be our go-to when we're in town to see a show, but otherwise, we'll dine elsewhere.

Pyramid is a popular meeting place before a game or concert, which have been the only reasons why I go here. I wouldn't go here otherwise. The local beer they provide is pretty yummy, enough variety for the diverse tastes our group have. The food is a mixed bag. I've had their chicken sandwich which came with two small thin pieces of chicken, together were smaller and flatter than my palm. I've had their fish entree with veggies steamed far beyond necessary. Where they do succeed are their burgers. I've gotten them a couple times. Service is busy and rushed, but good. In regards to the tiny chicken sandwich, our server did notice that I wasn't eating it since I wasn't happy with it. She offered to bring me a new one, but I had been eating my fries and sharing my hub's burger (which is a good portion) and didn't feel hungry enough for it/did not want to wait. The chicken sandwich was removed from our tab later without fanfare (we did not ask nor expect it). If you're out on the deck where it's a little harder to get service, due to the mass of crowds, it sucks a little bit. It's better than waiting 1hr+ for the regular dining area (they give you a buzzer). But once you do get a server, they are on it! Having tons of people outside needing food/drink is eh since there aren't enough tables and surfaces to rest your drink or food, but people are constantly coming and going, you just have to be fast about scooping up their table when they leave. I think I'd like Pyramid better if I didn't go during these crazy periods, but it does its job fairly well during these times.

I've been a fan of this place for years. Great place to stop by before a game or if you want to grab some giant nachos. For those Washington Beer Lovers (WABL) - this is a place you need to stop by. It is one of the original Seattle breweries. For more WABL reviews you can go here. wabljourney.wordpress.com

After working up an appetite from spending a few hours at the spa, I asked my husband to bring me to Pyramid for dinner. There were so many delicious options on the menu, but I finally decided on the honey cilantro chicken with roasted poblano cream sauce. I enjoyed a nice cold Thunderhead while waiting for my food. Service here is super fast! Our calamari came out in lightning speed! Our dishes followed shortly after. My husband 's blackened chicken sandwich was delicious, and I liked my chicken dish. I look forward to returning to try some of the other menu offerings.

Great beer grab an H7. Also Monday night growler night is worth the trip. Appetizers where good and service very friendly definately worth a visit. Try the calamari if you want a good beer snack . Right by the stadiums for an after game drink.

Went before the mariners game tonight! I had the pita dip and my husband had fish and chips. I also had a side salad - which, if you ask me, is pretty sad for $6. On the other hand, for $10 you get a ton of hummus, roasted red bell peppers, and peppercinis! Husband liked his fish and chips a lot. I also had a crispin cider, which was awesome and dry. Service was fabulous! Quick seating and service.

Still eating but I just couldn't stand it. The service is great but it's a slow day so I'd how that would impact service on busy days. I'm with 3 other people and their food looks great and taste great. Now on to what I ordered... I ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich... I'm a fat guy who eats a lot and I'm not very picky but this is by far the worst I have ever had, EVER... there is little to now BBQ sauce. So if you like pulled pork sandwiches with no seasoning because it was supposed to have BBQ this place to get your fix. Besides the food I order I had a great experience.

Yum! Had the honey cilantro chicken and even the kale tasted good. All my family liked theirs too: natural burger, fish and chips, and nachos. My dad had an amber ale that seemed pretty dark to him but it was still good, he said.

I buy six-packs of Pyramid every now and then, and I particularly enjoy the apricot ale and hefeweizen. I had an event to attend at the nearby Showbox SoDo, and was thus presented with the ideal opportunity to indulge in happy hour at the Pyramid Alehouse before heading over to the event. We got here around 5PM on a weeknight after braving downtown rush hour traffic. We were seated at once, right before the dinnertime rush began. To start, we ordered a pitcher of the blonde ale to split (a pitcher gives you four pints in total) among the two of us. We then decided to split a pretzel, calamari, and the nacho pizza (it was odd but good in that weird, nice-to-have-once kind of way). The food was all decent, but nothing standout--quite underwhelming, actually. To round off the experience, I got a pint of the mocha porter. Now, THAT hit the spot. Pity it's an alehouse exclusive, because I'd love a six-pack of that in my fridge.

I love pyramid beers in the bottle at home, they are way better on tap at the brew house! Love the apricot ale, but can only have one. If not sure on a beer ask for a sample. Our server was great with recommendations and offering samples. The food is actually good for a brew house. Loved the blackened chicken sandwich! Great place to go before a mariners game! The parking lot is confusing but free while dinning.

stopped in here after a mariners game recently. HORRIBLE service. I get it that it was a rush after the game and theyre very busy but thats not an excuse to be extremely rude. Our female server had no personality, didnt smile, didnt check on us, nothing. Theres nothing special about the food. Their stout is great, the only reason for the 2 stars.

Great food. I had fish and chips, not greasy. I suggest that with a good beer. You won't be disappointed.

Since Pyramid Brewing is located in the stadium district of Seattle we both knew to play our cards just right in order to avoid throngs of people. We picked a time during the midday and during the midweek. There is parking in the front of the brewery but in the back there is another parking lot which is where we parked. It sounds like a paid parking lot but if you are dining at Pyramid then you are good. We were spreading our eating and drinking throughout the day so we did not get a meal here but everything looked very promising! Pyramid Brewing is a big company which also encompasses Portland Brewing(The Portland Brewing branch puts out a very intriguing Rose Hip beer) as well as a few others. After my last experience with a big company brewery(Red Hook) I was worried that the beer may not be all that good. And I was wrong. I tried several of their beers. A Pale Ale sampler for one which was good. An Oktoberfest which also was very good. But the beer that completely bowled me over was their Apricot Wheat Ale. The beer is indeed very Apricoty but not too sweet to make it unpleasant. It was just a fine tasting beer all the way around. My concerns on the beer quality vanished. Of course Steve and I got the munchies and we split an order of a chocolate cake that was infused with a hot pepper of some kind which made the cake almost a kind of godsend. The time we picked to come to Pyramid was perfect. We had good wait service, everyone was chill and so on. I can forsee Pyramid being crowded just before a game and probably long wait times which inevitably will cause frustration and impatience but coming here during an "off time" was just perfect.

This is my second time coming here for lunch, and the service is good. I sit at the bar just for faster service and the bartenders are nice and friendly. I ordered the pyramid burger my first time and wasn't too impressed, however it was good. This second time I ordered the chipotle salad and I love it.

The beer garden just served me two fish tacos minus the fish. So not cool! I bring my team here almost weekly and enjoy the food and beer but this makes me livid. WTF? ... Okay they f@$ked all three orders. The brats were also missing key ingredients that were advertised.

We stopped in right after the Mariner's game for a quick beer while we waited for our Uber ride. A quick beer turned into an appetizer too. Naturally they were crazy busy beings that the game just let out. But that didn't deter us from getting great service. The bartenders were on top of their game and we hardly waited but 3 minutes for our calamari. So yummy! I can't speak for anything but the calamari, the beers and the service and everything was definitely 5 star worthy.

I mainly get food to go here as I work in the neighborhood and its convenient. Good Reuben, ingredients are just fine and healthy sized portions to boot. Their fries are a little too soggy/greasy for me. Horseradish set my sinus' on fire! MY NOSE IS ON FIRE! Wayyy too much horseradishyness, just saying. Free Pyramid Strawberry Blond sample last time I was there, its really good! Their beer is the saving grace making this a great spot to imbibe before going to a game by the stadiums. Also I do enjoy their beer garden in the summer :)

The cheese burger I had was surprisingly delicious considering it was trivia night I was in town solo for business....If you want to call it business. I'd recommend this joint since they are a stalwart of the brewing art and are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Congrats to you and your outburst IPA that's usually on sale for $2.99 for a 22oz throughout most of the Pacific NW.

The beer was just okay. My friend found a fly in his beer, which was entertaining. We tried to revive it and help it fly away, but it was a bit drunk. The bathrooms are gendered (women vs. men) which is annoying. Can't we get away from the idea of there being only two genders? Just label your bathrooms as (bathroom with Urinals) and (bathroom without Urinals). The music was something off of a NOW10 CD. Some sort of mishmash of popular 90's pop music.

For $14 I expected a better salmon burger. There was not even one flake of salmon - this salmon patty clearly came from canned salmon that was over mixed and dry. It was paired with a side of sad old frys and basically ruined my whole day. I should have sent it back, but I didn't have time left in my lunch break. Not to mention for $13 you can get a fairly descent salmon po-boy that is made of real fish across the street. My friends burger was so charred that he had to peel a black ring of charred meat from the edges of the burger. The patty looked like one of those pre-formed pre-frozen patties from Costco. This is a place for people who have bad taste and feel fancy when they pay too much for their food.

Today was my first time eating at Pyramid. I have always heard really good things about it so I was really excited. I was with a party of four and when we walked in the staff was very friendly and we were seated right away which was awesome. Our waitress was super nice through out the entire trip. I guess the reason I'm giving it two stars was how boring and lame the food was! I get that it's a brewery but there was literally nothing else on the menu to drink. Most places at least have some other drinks on their menu. The entire menu sounded boring and plain. I finally decided on the ale house fish and chips. BORING. The fish was meh, the fries mediocre. No joke, Wendy's has better fries. My husband got a burger and it was so little! It was supposed to be super spicy and wasn't. Plain jane, boring food. I was so disappointed! Not what I was expecting at all. I guess if you are looking for a place to get drunk before a sporting event it would work fine but as far a food goes it's a waste of money.

Upon entering from the cold and the rain, the hostess made us wait and was not very friendly. Granted it was a busy night when the Seahawks played the 49er (football) at home field (right across the street). Place was packed! We were finally seated upstairs in a room with 2 tv's with the game on and other Seahawk fans. I was impressed by the size of the establishment. Upon entering on the right is their gift shop. Beers in 6-packs to go, growlers, shirts and other items were available. The main room is their main bar and dinning area. Upstairs were some rooms for more intimate setting. Food: 3.5 of 5 stars. We ordered the fried calamari, chicken nachos (came with a side of gaucamole, sour cream and chopped raw salsa), and some garlic fries. I only liked the fried calamari. I ordered the Snow Cap ale. Hoppy beer! Full body. Deep in mahogany color. Roasted flavors of chocolate and caramel. Delicious on tap! Ambiance is casual. Seemed family friendly and good for the sports enthusiast.

This place was awesome. We met up with some friends here before catching a Mariners game. I love Pyramid beer and was completely happy to find out that this was where we were going to meet up. Game days brings a crowd and they have a great beer garden in front that allows for added space. The night we were there they had a DJ belting out some tunes to get everyone riled up. A friendly staff even when dealing with clearly inebriated people. Can't wait to go back!

Wow. Went there last night with friends and the place was pretty empty for a Friday night. Our server (woman with short brown hair) was stressed out, came to our table asked us what we wanted and said I'll be back. When she came back we ordered beer. It was so awesome to receive room temperature beer in a plastic cup!!! She came back to take our food order and once again got distracted by something and left again. The food wasn't worth the price. Won't be back.

Basing this review off of the beer-garden before the Seahawks game, and I was a fan. The outdoor space can accommodate many people, and the lines move rather quickly. Make sure you have cash only, as I'm unsure if they take Credit Cards outside. There is also a small building in the middle of the beer garden that serves food. I personally didn't order any, but saw some of what they were serving and it looked rather tasty. As expected, Pyramid has a great assortment of beers and many are available on tap. I'll definitely be back.

A great place to have dinner and a beer before the game. Spacious interior. The service is always very good. The selection of beers on tap is very good. The food is very good--better variety and quality than the average brew-pub. Value is about average.

I went back the very next day which was yesterday. In my last review I mentioned that someone from another table ordered some type of fish and chips and it looked divine. So I decided to order the Alehouse Fish & Chips. It was Alaskan Cod battered in Hefeweizen tempura to be exact. It was very hot (temperature) and moist. It was only three pieces but they were big enough. When I go back and I know I will be back I'll have to order what half my table ordered. Which was the Bangers and Mash. It consists of Smoked bratwurst, spicy cheese and chicken Andouille sausages grilled with red potato mashers, grilled onions and sides of honey mustard and Apricot Ale BBQ sauces. See I told you it sounds good!!!

Pyramid is a huge sports bar perfect for pre-Mariners, Seahawks, and Sounders games, as well as various local events. My fam came here recently before the epic Paul McCartney concert (I know it's overused, but ... yes, the show was nothing short of epic and you should be mad at yourself if you didn't go). Paul sold out Safeco with 45,000 fans (unseen since opening day of the park!); therefore SODO was a madhouse, and Pyramid's staff handled it admirably. Here are the highlights: *GREAT fries - choice of regular, garlic, or sweet potato. *Prices are fair, which is surprising-- $12 burger, $10 turkey burger, $11 salad.. this seems more than fair to me based on location. I've seen many a $14 burger in a shitty neighborhood, so this makes me happy. *Beer garden is a block long and often has a DJ .. sweet. *Favorite Pyramid ale is their Hefeweizen; 2nd is the summer Strawberry Blonde To elaborate a little more on the busy evening: concert started at 8. At 6:30 we got to Pyramid and were told the wait would be 45 minutes (even the tables in the bar were seated by host). Those ladies at the front were working like crazy to get tables cleaned and everyone sat as quickly as possible. We were seated in *25* minutes, on probably the busiest night of the year -- also, McCartney's crowd tends to be a bit older, so most preferred to sit instead of standing in the bar. I was thoroughly impressed, and my family was pleased with my pick!! For pre-game, Pyramid beats Elysian.

A group of us came here about once a month for, I don't know... five years. LOL Our first time was over ten years ago. We were moving to Seattle and we were next door at SAFECO shopping at the Mariners store. Great place by the way. We decided to come here and found the beer great and the food was very good. The Hefeweizen is my favoite, though I've been also known to enjoy the Potter and IPA. Our group of twelve tended to come on Monday nights and for the most part the parking was okay. The food and service can sometimes be uneven, but we have always come back. It's usually about getting the orders right and everything hot when served. I was up here a few months ago and found nothing has changed. So in Yelp-ese, Three Stars "A-OK".

Decent pub grub, and two dollar apricot ales. This place was across the street from my hotel and definitely became a nightly brew stop while working at the seattle boatshow. Busy loud and pretty good service. I'm a fan! :D

I ate here for the first time last Sunday, and I think I'll just stick to the game and drinks next time. I ordered the bacon burger which was supposed to be "medium." Instead, the burger was dry and charred black. I had just gotten back to Seattle from Portland and was pretty hungry so I ate the burger and didn't say anything. My friend ordered the same thing, and brought the burger to our waitress' attention. She apologized and brought out a new burger which was better. In addition, she comped my friend the burger which I thought was very nice (otherwise I probably would've given this a two star review). The fries were OK, nothing special. In summary, good atmosphere to watch the game, friendly service, poor food.

I've been coming to the Pyramid Alehouse for years!!! They have changed their menu over the years so some old time favorites are no longer available. Came here last month with hubby before the Husky football game. They were quite busy but we got seated quickly. Unfortunately the area we were seated in was a small room that was very loud & warm. There were 2 tables of 6 in the small area one with loud children & the other with loud football fans. Hubby ordered a meaty pizza with sausage & pepperoni. It was too greasy for my taste & the cheese had a funky smell. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Not near enough buffalo sauce or blue cheese on it. The fries were excellent. Perfect crispiness & heat. They have a limited "game day" menu but I didn't mind it at all & think more sports bars would be well advised to do the same. Beers served in plastic glasses on game days so if that's an issue for you be forewarned. Service adequate. They were busy so I cut them some slack.

OK I will start by saying the food and beer at Pyramid is delicious. I was excited about this place because it's super close to work, near the stadiums and has decent parking on non-game days. Unfortunately, the service was TERRIBLE. I wish I got the name of our waitress because she the worst. Probably the worst service I've experienced in a very long time.

This is a popular location. The decor is good and what you would expect from a brewer. We started with the chorizo dip. The dip had good flavor. The tortilla chips also tasted good. You could easily share this with four or so people. I would definitely get it again. I ordered the wedge salad with a chicken breast. The salad was bland. The dressing and chicken lacked flavor. The bacon bits were OK. A more flavorful dressing or more blue cheese crumbles may have helped. I tried their rootbeer. It had good flavor. It is worth a try.

Good beer. Horrible food. The fish and chips was like eating hot dog on a stick with fish inside. So disgusting. Since I was starving I sacked up and ate it anyways. I'm sure some poor bathroom will pay for it in the near future.

Great service for the big group I was with. I called ahead on a game day to see if they could squeeze us in even though they don't do reservations on game day I figured it was worth asking since the soccer game had already started. They were nice and took my reservation and had a table already set up for us when we arrived. The food was good I had the bangers and mash. I wish one of the sauces wasn't a spicy one they both were really spicy, so I used yellow mustard on my sausages. I was really sad I left my leftovers though! I was looking forward to having them for lunch the next day they were so good. The plastic water cups were biodegradable which was great but several of them leaked. The server split up the bill for us which was great and didn't automatically add tip which means he got a good percentage from me!

Just stopped in for a brew. We had no idea that Pyramid was based in Seattle. We've had their Hefeweizen before but today I tried their Snow Cap which is actually their winter season beer. It was a chocolate & caramel ale & quite tasty.

I would of gave this place a 2 but our waitress was really nice and made up for it. Heres what happened, its a game day so the place was pack before it started. We sat at the bar tables and waited 10 mins until we finally flagged someone down to take our order. We order beer and we split the fish and chips. Beer came quick but food took awhile. But thats okay cause i knew it was busy. When we finally got our food. I started cutting my fish and I saw a strain of hair mixed into the batter! Talk about nasty!!!! I understand hair falls into food, its happens at times. So i ask for a replacement of the fish and they made me a new fried piece of fish. The waitress was very accomdating to what happened. She even had our meal comp for the inconvenience. Overall, this place is decent to grab a beer and bite before the game. They even had a beer garden outside in the parking lot before the baseball game started. Just pay attention to ur food.

Me and the family go here just for drinks to pre-game every year during the YANKEES and Mariners series. You will not be disappointed this place has a thriving atmosphere and the staff is always attentive and friendly no matter how packed they get. They serve Crispin cider which is decent but sweet. So my gluten free Arse is happy. Great way to relax and cool off prior to going to the game. It is also a cheap way to get buzzed instead of being broke from the outrageous prices in the ballpark. Maybe next time I will try out the food! I will write again after I have tried the food! Next year Seattle....

Ug, so disappointing. The food is eatable, but barely. Honestly, I've had better food at McDonald's. Our server was very nice, but sucked at her job. She didn't know the menu, and when I asked "how spicy is the diabolo burger?" She replied back, "I don't like saying how spicy it is, because I might be wrong. " Our meals came out before the appetizer (mozzarella sticks), when we asked about it we were told "sometimes fried food takes a little longer then regular food" I didn't say anything, but I was thinking how did the French fries (aka, deep fried potatoes) get done then? And it was uncomfortably hot, the need more air conditioning.

    (2)
  • Connie L.

I ordered the smoked salmon burger, which was mighty tasty. The chipotle mayo was spicy but manageable. Nothing extraordinary with the fries. Our waitress was meh. She didn't come until the very end of the meal to refill our waters and she didn't acknowledge me when I requested something -- so I was never sure if she heard me or not... So when I requested it again, she seemed mildly annoyed. Random: the brown straws broke easily for me. The tips would get all frayed when I gently bit on it. In the bathroom, one of the sinks wasn't working and both the paper towel feeders ran out of paper towels.

One of my favorite breweries of all time. I haven't found a beer they make that I won't drink. While not technically a local brewery, they have a huge presence in the area for good reason. Located in the shadow of Safeco field, this is one of my fave places to hit up before a sporting event. Be prepared for long waits and heavy crowds on days like this, but it feels worth it. Especially when you compare beer and food prices to those you find inside the game... I highly suggest one of their appetizers, a burger, and pair it with their Apricot Ale. The crystal ale is pretty nice too. Hard to go wrong here; check it out if you get the chance.

This is a great place for pre-funk before an M's game as this is right across the street from Safeco Field. The restaurant is pretty big as it is split into an upstairs and downstairs with a big bar seating area on the lower level. I like it that it has a sort of cozy feeling to it with the added carpeting and light brown wood furnishings. I agree with most Yelpers that the food here is pretty expensive for what you get, but since it is so close to the ball fields they seem to get your money because of the convenience. We had ordered the fish and chips plus a combo pizza. Both were pretty tasty as the fish was very fresh tasting, but the pizza was a little too salty for my taste. The beer selection is great as you can choose from light ales to darker pale ales. One reminder here is that they don't have any happy hour on game days so be prepared to pay regular menu prices. The menu here consists of mostly sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and salads with a good selection of appetizers to choose from also. The service here is good with how busy the place was and they were able to get us in and out in a timely fashion for us to watch the game right after.

I actually had a great experience here! After working hard at an expo across the street one of my coworkers shared that he liked the beer here so we went to check it out. I ordered the nachos and he ordered a chicken salad of some kind. My other coworker ordered the spaghetti squash dish. The beer we ordered was the stiffest on the menu and it was really good! To make a long story short, I'll be back every time we staff an expo at Centurylink.

Whatever you do, don't get the Shepherd's Pie unless you want to burn your tastebuds off with the disgusting amount of salt it has. Was there lamb? Onions? Carrots? If I closed my eyes, I wouldn't have known. All I could taste was salt. As it was there were hardly any. Might as well had a bowl of salty gravy with potatoes on top.

Don't eat the garlic fries... you will smell like garlic for DAYS! They weren't serving their Oktoberfest anymore, eventhough it was still on the menu... Trivia is frustrating because they don't stop the cheaters - one group was clearly hovered over their phone looking for answers - and surprise - They won!

Had a good time at Pyramid the other day while waiting for a Mariner's game to start. They have a nice menu - lots of beers, a solid happy hour (sadly, no HH on game days!) and good prices. I know it's a beer place, so I gave them credit for having at least one cider (Crispin) in the house. Our service was attentive but not overbearing, and our server was really nice. Wish I'd gotten her name to give her props. I had the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce - enormous portion! - and my friends shared the nachos and the garlic fries. We all left stuffed and happy, especially when she offered to divide checks up by what we had ordered without being asked.

A Haiku Review of Pyramid Alehouse Pleasantly surprised! Decent beer, food and service. Not sure why the hate.

Food is mediocre, beers are amazing and service is okay. The hostesses were not helpful or accomodating even when the establishment wasn't hardly full. They didn't even offer to take our names, only that we have to wait until everyone in our party was ready to be seated. I've never had a restaurant do that including other breweries that were slammed. The facility is massive and I love the bar area. Parking can be a pain because they sometimes decide to switch up their lot for beer gardens or charge for their back lot unexpectedly. Out of towners need to call to clarify ahead of time. BIG TIP ABOUT TOURS: Make sure to call ahead to make sure the tour guide is there. We had out-of-town visitors that came for the tour, but the tour guide decided to take the day off. And it took us until we had food and drinks ordered for them to give us a straight answer. The manager and bartender had no idea that the tour guide was gone! Luckily our server knows the tour guide and knew. Total lack of management. Bottom line: Only come here for beer at the bar or outdoor pre-game beer garden. Or midday during the week.

I really wanted to give PAH a great review. I really did. But, I can't. I mean, it's not a terrible place, by any stretch. It's just not great. Another couple joined Wifey and me before a concert in SoDo as it's really close to the venue. We felt we got incredibly lucky by finding a parking place in the smaller, front lot (it wasn't until later that we realized there is also a back lot). The ambiance is cool. I find breweries to be a neat place to hang out, though I'm not a huge drinker. I just like the brewery vibe. And Pyramid isn't lacking on the cool, brewery vibiness. And it's pretty big. We were sat upstairs in the corner, next to a small window (where we overlooked the newly discovered back parking lot). We were impressed by the great customer service. Not only was the greeter pleasant and welcoming, our server was patient while answering all my beer-related questions. She was friendly and attentive. The part that brought my review down was the food. It was "meh" at best. We started with chorizo dip appetizer. While it wasn't bad, it was really heavy. The tortilla chips that surrounded the dip ramekin seemed to be from the bottom of the bag -- they were crunched up and small. My BBQ chicken pizza was so saucy (and not in a good way). Good sized portion, yes, but a large portion of subpar food doesn't benefit anyone. My wife ordered the fish 'n chips. The fish was quite greasy and it looked/tasted like the grease hadn't been changed in awhile. The beer was fine (again, not my specialty), the service was great, but the food was a disappointment. Cool place to drink with friends before a game or concert? I suppose. Maybe I should drink more and eat less...

Stopped in for some beers while in Seattle. We walked from Pioneer Square (coming from the Underground Tour) - it was definitely walkable but a bit farther than we expected. Pyramid is right across the street from the baseball stadium too - we happened to be there on a game day. They open a big beer garden out front for game days and it was fun to watch the fans, old and young, come and go in the beer garden. Beers were good - not a huge selection (I think the flight included 6?) but quality!

Hit this place with my two sons and my parents before a Mariners game. Despite it being very busy due to the game service was on top of things and my beer never ran dry. Food was fantastic. Will be back in a week or two with my girlfriend for another M's game!

The food was okay. I had the fish and chips for dinner. The people were friendly, but our waitress was super clumpsy. Jimmy's across the street is much better.

Good selection of their beers. I'm not a fan of drinking from a plastic cup though. I'm wondering if that's the normal, or just because it was a Sounders game day. Either way, I wasn't going to the game, and even if I was, I'm still not a fan of plastic cups. Not really classy Pyramid... :-/

*** Overrated: the brand, the beer, this place. *** The best brew here was mediocre at best. (urgh) *** Life is too short. I'll pass on this next time. ***

Arrived for dinner sunday evening to meet a group and was directed to our room behind the stairs. Waitstaff was prompt in taking our drink orders and I had their Oktoberfest which was excellent though could have been a little colder. No biggie. The food orders were also taken efficiently and not being hungry I just ordered a large clam chowder. This was when the disappointment started because almost everyone else in our group of 15 was served before me. Finally, my soup arrived and the server apologised for not bringing a spoon (the cutlery that was wrapped in the napkin did NOT include a spoon!) but she would return with one. She never did and I ended up putting the bland clam chowder style crackers in and forking it out. Also accompanied on my request was a bland unheated/crisped dinner roll. Had a better one at Denny's. Also, because I waited for the spoon, the soup was not hot and possibly not so hot to begin with. Looking around at the plates of others, the offerings seemed standard pub fare with fries and chicken. I would return just for drinks and appetizers but would have to think about ordering anything else. Prices are pretty competitive.

Things I Did Not Like About Pyramid -The hostesses flat out ignored us when we walked in. -The waitress seemed to hate life and everything about it. -I was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked. -My burger was cooked well done and dry as hell. -The toppings were meager and just throw on the patty. -The sweet potato fries looked like they'd been under a heat lamp since 1994. -I'm pretty sure they scooped the chili by dipping the cup in the pot. Things I Liked About Pyramid -They serve decent beer. -Free parking. So, yeah.

Came here for a bite and drinks before the Mariners game. The restaurant definitely has a cool set up, and the chicken nachos were pretty good. A-oooookay in my book.

Two if my friends and I had lunch here yesterday. While I've always been a fan of their beer I do not recommend eating here at all. We arrived mid-afternoon and neither the bar or patio were very busy. In fact we were able to seat ourselves on the patio. Our waiter was prompt to take our drink orders and when two of us ordered the same beer he made sure to try and up sell us on a pitcher (good training I suppose). Our beers were served in plastic cups. AT A BREWERY!! WTF? What beer loving person chooses beer in a plastic cup unless tailgating at a Husky game or attending keg party? Really Pyramid, you charge max price for a beer made right there without having to pay a distributor price and then serve it in a plastic cup? Very disappointing. We were seated at the end of the patio but there was a table to our left and a table behind us that were seated well after we were. We ordered three burgers and then waited. Our waiter showed once to refresh our plastic cup beers but never mentioning our food. While the table next to us with 6 people received three appetizers well before we got our burgers. They ordered these appetizers well after we ordered burgers. Oh, and we were never offered water. When our burgers finally arrived (about 30-minutes after we ordered) they were all well done when we asked for 2-medium and 1-medium rare. The fries were lukewarm at best, the cheese had melted and then coagulated again and two of the burgers were topped with cold onion rings. Very disappointing after a long wait drinking beer in plastic cups. Our waiter never showed up again to check on our satisfaction with our good. Not even a simple fly-by to say, "is everything tasting OK guys?" Isn't that good food server 101? What's worse as soon as we finished eating our check arrived with lightening speed and efficiency leaving us wondering if all Pyramid cared about was our money. We all agreed that we will not return to this establishment.

Let's be realistic here... would I seek this place out? No. Okay, MAYBE. But, the only times I've ever gone in is when I'm at SafeCo for a ball game. The beer is good, the pizza is rather amazing, but the bar area (which is pretty much the whole joint) doesn't have TVs out for game viewing (you know, in case you're running late!)... but it's still a must, go-to place when down there... unless you're at a football game... then go to Elysian.

A fun brewery to go to in Seattle before games at either of the fields. Their food there is very good and they always have some great beers on tap as well. If you're planning on stopping by this place make sure to look into the schedules for both Century Link and Safeco Field because if either place is having a game then you're almost guaranteed to not get served food here (all times we've ate here before games have had wait times of well over an hour and this was with us arriving 2 or more hours before the game). A great place to go to for a drink before a game on game day and a great place to go eat if it isn't a game day.

Again, as with Elysian there is a caveat with Pyramid; Game Day and None Game Day. Seeing that I have only been inside on non game day that is the bases for my review. The interior has the old brew house feel on a really large scale. Pyramid has a huge bar in the middle with a lot of seating to either side in various rooms. Again one of my little secrets, there are bar service tables right behind the bar front that you can not really see. They still have TVs back there and you get the same great service. My girlfriend and I ordered a five sampler of beers with all the beers being the small batch stuff they do in house like a fresh hop, hop tep, a winter solstice porter double sno cap and outback IPA. All were really good but the fresh hop was the best by far. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The pork had good flavor with a decent smoke ring and the there signature Apricot Ale BBQ sauce. Good food, good service and a good place for non game day. Game day review soon to follow...

Started with the calamari appetizer, which was 6-7 strips of panko breaded calamari. Very pricey for that size portion. We also had the pyramid burger and blackened salmon which both were pretty good. There's an option of gluten free buns for sandwiches but it comes with a $2 up charge. I'm still trying to figure out why gluten free or sugar free items are marked up so much, but I digress. Toward end of meal the waitress was more concerned with cleaning her tables instead of taking care of the few she had. Octoberfest beer was also pretty tasty while the pumpkin beer had to much spice to pair with food.

Pyramid beer garden (right outside the restaurant) is a great spot to hang out before a Mariner game as it is across the street. Lots of music, people, and of course, beer! We did not visit the restaurant because it looked all the action was outside.

The food is basic pub kind of food, and service can be slow on non-M's gamedays. it's kind of a SoDo staple though, and they always deliver consistently good food and beer. wish they had a full bar, but they want to be a beer place, so ... there's that. of course, the beer garden on gamedays is a must-go.

If there's one thing I'll give this place, it's got a killer location. Right across the street from the stadiums. I came here for lunch today because I was in the mood for a beer. Duh! I was also really hungry too. I had a delicious beer (the curve ball I think it was called?), fantastic, although my BBQ pulled pork sandwich was quite dry. Probably because it has an option of being served with BBQ sauce or without, which I requested, and our waitress promptly forgot. I found it weird there was an option. Why WOULDN'T you want that? Our server, Kimmy (sp?), was also slightly off putting. When your job is primarily customer service, smiles go a long way. We were clearly glancing at the menu, and instead of offering suggestions, she seemed to think we were just there for the drinks. While waiting awhile for our food, we observed her chatting with another waitress by the hot plate and after our food was delivered, she never checked in. Delicious beer but not the place I would go for a meal.

Good selection of beers, but the food is very so so. I had a very overcooked burger, which was great in concept, but poorly cooked, The rest of the group's dinner didn't look any better. But, they do have a Beer Garden on game days, which is awesome, and there are always an interesting selection of beers on draft, including ones you can only get there.

If it weren't for the beer, I probably wouldn't have any reason to come here. Their apricot ale is my favorite! Everytime I come here I either get that, or the sampler which lets you try about 6-8 of their other beers. Personally I'd recommend the Blonde Ale or the Apricot Ale. Food is your typical pub/bar food. The burgers aren't bad. Has a great atmosphere if you like to be loud and watch sports too. Parking isn't too bad, just make sure you don't go during a Mariners or Seahawks game and you should be fine.

Holy batman! Man land! Seriously! I didn't try to look around TOO hard, but it seemed like at least 90% of the people in this rather large establishment were men. Tables full of men. Bar full of men. Some younger, most looking like they're probably in their 30s or 40s. Aside from that... I was super hungry and there weren't really any other easy-to-find places around that had something for me to eat. It was Happy Hour and I was alone, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered the lightest, (imho) tastiest/girliest sounding beer they had available: The Audacious Apricot Ale. It took me a while to drink it and I ended up having to chug 1/3 of it at the end because I was in a hurry to be elsewhere... but it was fruity, delicious, and just what I wanted at that moment. During HH the apps are 30% off (w/ drink purchase), so I decided to try the Peppercorn Ahi. The appetizer wasn't exactly mindblowing, but I very much enjoyed it... and I thought the slaw that came with it and the sauce that was on top of it went really well with it. I give it a thumbs up! Service: The bartender tended to get wrapped up in talking/working the other side of the bar so it took me a while to order my food and get a chance to pay for my meal, but he was very pleasant and easy-going when he was there. Bonus points for being super-quick with the tap! It was like... tell him your beer choice and BAM! it's there. The only real downer: Definitely a bit on the pricey side. I can't really speak about my food because I chose to go with seafood, but I would have been happier if a pint cost less than $4 during HH. (I'm a big fan of the places that have their beer at about $2.50-3 during HH.) Fyi: They have a ~6-item kid's menu section.

This place is in a great location with spacious amounts of parking. The game changes menu requirements such as plastic drinking cups for alcohol...which I hate!!.....The sausage and kraut taste great along with the hot wings. Game days are very crowded with exhuberant fans.

I still stand with my original assessment of Pyramid. Their beer is just a-ok to my taste buds. I had the opportunity to have happy hour here recently, and the beer at 3 dollars a pint is a steal of a deal, can't be mad at that. The food on the HH menu, however, was not interesting to me at all, seemed a bit overpriced like a lot of their regular menu, and I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted. I was hungry, so I settled on an order of chips and salsa (3 dollars) and some pulled pork tacos (5 dollars for 3 little tacos). The chips were those weird red and blue and white mixed kind that come from a bag. The salsa was made fresh, but lacked any real bite. It needed more cilantro and a little more spice, but was plenty fresh and had lots of lime. The pulled pork tacos were pretty disappointing. The apricot BBQ sauce that I was looking forward to tasting was almost non existant and the pork was pretty dry. There was barely any onion or cabbage on it. I wouldn't recommend these or order them again. I say if you want awesome priced beer then definitely hit happy hour. I'd skip the food.

I love coming here when I make a trip to Seattle. They have the apricot ale, which is one of my favorite beers and their food is pretty decent too. I recommend the blue cheese chips on the appetizer menu and the garlic fries. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Seattle.

Stopped after work to get a pitcher of Curveball with a couple of coworkers. Tried the chicken fingers, which were actually quite good. The beer is great, I love the Hefeweizen and the Curveball (seasonal). Looking forward to trying more of their brews and more food off the menu in the future! Only negative might be that the beer is a bit overpriced. It's what you expect for craft beer, but when a couple of pitchers and an order of chicken off the appetizer menu runs you 35 bucks before tax, thats a bit outrageous

My wife and I took a trip to Seattle and after our tour of Safeco Field we decided to try out the Pyramid brew house across the street. The place was huge but they wanted to seat us in the balcony. My wife was smart and asked if we could sit in the lower level so we could see the Twins lose to the Mariners. It wasn't a problem I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and they substitute a salad for the fries, which was rally cool. The sandwich was huge and wonderful. I loved it. I ordered a couple IPAs to go with the meal and I was real happy with the. Our server was great and overall it was a wonderful lunch!

My first visit to the Pyramid Alehouse despite being in the area numerous times, we went on a Saturday night. The interior is COOL! It's not very often that I get to eat in a brewery! The parking signs are a little confusing if you pull in off 1st Ave. We wanted to make sure we wouldn't have to pay for parking just to eat there. The host tried to dissuade us and others from eating there because computers were down, and said that they were closing early at 10:30 pm. It was over an hour before that, we decided to proceed. He actually seemed disappointed that we decided to stay and eat. Another couple came in a good half hour after us, and still decided to stay, I wonder what the look was on his face for them! The waiter was nice and conscientious but looked exhausted. My friend commented that most of the staff seemed to be "run-down." Management? Maybe try to schedule them some time for their "real" lives? There was NO toilet paper in any stalls in women's bathrooms... despite women working. A customer gave me some paper towels as I walked in the bathroom. WOW! I've had that experience at bars, especially with lack of female employees, but usually never at a restaurant. When people are using paper towels to wipe, obviously the bathroom gets TORE UP. Not pretty, and that was just the women's. I heard the men's was equally disgusting. (Also, anything besides TP is BAD for the plumbing, Pyramid kinda shooting themselves in the foot, there). I wanted the side Caesar salad in addition to the rice pilaf and vegetables that went with my salmon. It was $5 extra & stalks of uncut romaine lettuce with dressing, grated parmesan-- my friend laughed at it. I had to cut to be able to eat it -- it was like, "no, we really DON'T care." The salmon tasted like it had been frozen, the veggies tasted like they had been frozen (both were dry, tasteless and kind of chewy), and the pilaf I should've just substituted out, it was flavorless as well (but I'm not a big rice pilaf fan). I liked the ciders that I had, even though I'm not a beer person. I probably will not be back, two entrees (+1 side salad), four beers were over $60. Not worth for what they're pushing.

We have come in here many times over the last few years, games, concerts, ect ect. and have always been pleased. The service is great, the beer selection is great as well. They have a decent HH, the app's are slightly above you typical bar food in quality. We also love the beer garden when its up and running. Missing star? Not a full bar, and I think the app's could be a bit more creative, but I am being a little picky.

Good place to stop in before a Mariner's game if you wanna get a lil buzz going instead of buying 10 dollar beers in the stadium. The service is great, they split the table sections amongst plenty of servers which means your server is always close by. The food comes out pretty quickly as well considering the magnitude of customers that run in and out of this place before a game. However, the food sucks...a lot. My pulled pork sandwich was the worst I've ever had in my life. The garlic fries were good though....sorta lol

Am I crazy? I love the Pyramid Ale House. I love their location across from the stadiums, I love the food, I love the service, and I even love the beer. Their slogan is "life is what you pour into it", and I love that they pour free samples of their beer into my glass every time I go in. Tonight I had their Apricot Ale. It tastes like real apricots. It smells and tastes like the kind of apricot that is so ripe and juicy it falls from the tree before you can pick it. It's hands down the most drinkable beer I've ever tasted. The food is great too. It has always been served fresh and fast. The beer-battered Alaskan cod is crispy and flavorful. I think I can honestly say best fish and chips I've ever had. The nachos are huge, a little spicy, but very tasty. The Chipotle chicken salad is fantastic. And the sweet potato fries are battered and served perfectly crispy and hot, with some kind of basil oil drizzled on them. They come with this honey dijon dressing that tasted homemade. Soo delicious. Those are the only things I've had there recently, so I can't vouch for the rest of the menu, but man, it's really good. The servers are excellent too! Very attentive. Food was served within 5-10 min after ordering. All of them chatting up my children. Tonight my 2 yr old knocked over a glass of water, and 5 people immediately came to remedy the situation. A few moments later, it was like it never happened. Maybe the situation is different on game nights. Maybe it gets a little crazy sometimes. But the lunch crowd is never crowded, the servers are never cranky, and the food is never served cold.

I like their saying, "Life is what you pour into it"....and I like pouring beer in mine. :-) I would easily give Pyramid 5 stars for their beer as their Hefeweizen is still my favorite and their Apricot Ale is SO delicious and like nothing I've ever tried yet. I also enjoy most of their seasonal brews: Outburst, Curve Ball, Juggernaut, and Snow Cap. But, I am very saddened by the experiences that I've had eating, drinking, and socializing here. I want to love it, but I'm always let down. I have no problem with their beer choices or food choices (food is greasy and not the greatest), but the service is always so slow! Even when there's no one around, and you can SEE the cooks, the food service is always moving at .5 mph. :( The last time I was here was before a very rainy Sounders game. I do love the beer garden idea, but it's only open before games. Boo. Also, there were a lot of obnoxious people here this day, ones who were too drunk to function and they shouldn't have been let in in the first place. If you want to try Pyramid, just get a twelve-pack from the store and enjoy their beer in the comforts of your own home.

A decent spot to hangout pre game mostly because of the location right across from the stadium. I didn't think the food was anything to write about, but I thought the fish and chips I got were fine and fairly priced given the location. The beer selection was decent, though maybe I should expect better given how large this place is. I definitely would not go out of my way to come here, but if we needed a spot to hang out before the game and it was up to me to suggest one, this would be one of those. Also keep in mind I've only been to Seattle once and this is the only place I now know near the stadium...

Hopped into the beer garden before Mariners Opening Day to grab a drink. As I am not a beer drinker, I was pleased to see that they had root beer available, as well as a couple of types of wine. I snagged a Thomas Kemper (only $2!) and my friend grabbed a beer ($5). However, there was little else positive about our experience. Lines were pretty long and unorganized. There were very few tables to set down your drink, so many people were forced to stand, holding their drink. Those that ordered food would really be in trouble, as you can't exactly hold a beer and food, and also eat and drink at the same time. My friend said his beer tasted totally flat, but he drank it anyway. When we decided to leave, we exited the beer garden the same place we had come in - the only exit there was available. However, the entrance/exit was so disorganized. They had ID checkers on both sides and the two of them, plus the stream of people coming inside, made it nearly impossible to exit. I bumped into several people just trying to navigate my way out. Eating and drinking inside this location might change my perspective, but overall I wasn't impressed with our beer garden experience.

This is a typical big restaurant/brewery combo. But it's great! They have their beers on tap (duh) and they are delicious! The Apricot Ale is my favorite. They have great burgers and sandwiches, and they are good sized! Bring your appetite and your thirst and belly up to the bar!

Went there for the first time today for lunch with some co-workers. We made reservations and were seated promptly. I had a glass of the Mac Amber which was delightful. The bacon cheeseburger was grilled to my order and came out perfectly. The seasoned fries were to die for! Our server was very nice and prompt and out host was absolutely charming. I will definitely go there again. I don't understand the negative reviews. After reading the reviews here on Yelp I wasn't sure if I even wanted to try this place, but I'm glad I did. Just goes to show you that you should always go check for yourself. Seattle has a very odd way of pissing in their own backyard!

Pyramid is outdated, menu is old/stale and service is subpar. They are hopping when a game is going on, but otherwise you are better off going to any of the new breweries along 1st avenue that are newer, have better menus (and prices) and better service. We ordered gluten free burger only to be told they "ran out" of gluten free buns...no gluten free offering available...we won't be back.

Game day is exciting. Parking all around about$20, but go right in to pyramid to order from their easy menu , then pop off across the street to the game... Easy! Nachos , pizzas, and rosemary cheese fries were tasty and held us full through the game. Great service and clean restrooms!

Stopped by Pyramid Alehouse for lunch after spending the morning at Museum of Flight. I was quite happy to notice the bike rack right in front of the brewpub which I utilized. Decided to have a beer sampler at the bar and was pleased that I was able to select the beers I wanted, however, scared at the large selection knowing that I still had to bike back to downtown and check out a few other attractions along the way. The bartender was nice enough to allow me to sample a few other beers w/o charge. I mostly stuck with the darker and maltier beers as I had already quite the hop fill at a few other brewpubs earlier in the week. Ordered the Smoked St. Louis Ribs for 17$ and thought they were OK. Lots of BBQ sauce but not smokey enough for my liking. The sauce was bland, whereas other places may use fresh garlic, jalapeno peppers, etc. They also forgot to give me the horseradish coleslaw! In my opinion, not really worth the 17$. I am happy to pay up to 25$ for ribs, but only if they are stellar, these were not. Would definitely come back here again for happy hour to enjoy the beer and perhaps try something else on the menu.

Maybe the problem is that the beer wasnt sampled. Or that I wasnt moderately drunk when Ive eaten here. (it is an ALE HOUSE after all, right?) In my opinion, the food-though high quality and substantial, has no meaningful flavor; even lacks basic salt. Is that enough for a mediocre rating? Maybe that is a bit harsh though my experiences at this location and at other locations have been the same and it must be a combination of the bland flavor, the service and the basic atmosphere. In their defense they throw some great pre-game "parties" for both the Sounders, Mariners and Seahawks. Props for bringing the people together. Furthermore, the garlic frys are better than most but not quite to the classic flavor found at the beautiful and stinky AT&T Park in San Francisco or Gott's in Napa. (both reviewed-see "reviews") Stick to the appatizers. Or, if youre a drinker, probably better stick to the beer. Cheers

Location Location Location. In this instance it was more about the proximity of this place to where I work rather than a choice to go here. Nothing here is that special that makes me want to come here. It is any other American style restaurant. Don't get me wrong I like beer I really do but sometimes a cocktail would be nice if it were available.

This Pyramid venue is just outside of the baseball and football stadium's, making it a go-to place for us before games. The patio opens up as a big pre-game beerfast. The food was always standard quality for brew pubs, but the beers were good. I was a big fan of the Hefe here for the longest time until my tastes evolved into IPAs and less "sweet" beers. The Snowcap Winter Lager is a good seasonal. The Thunderhead IPA is another newer favorite. Overall, this is a fun place to have a brew.

What a typical brew pub. Generic, right out of a movie or something, very boring plain appearance and vibe from the whole place, like a chilies or applebees. The crappy menu screams the same thing too. Not that their food is bad, well just unexciting, i have tried at least 5 or 6 things here and will probably be back. I just feel like they are taking advantage of their location and not trying as hard as they could. Being right across from those stadiums they know they dont need my business they are going to get tons more. And they do through kind of fun tailgate type parties in their parking before some of the sounders games i think which is pretty cool. The beers are actually reasonably priced, especially the big ales and they do have some pretty good rotationals in there. Its also nice because I have seen beers there I haven't seen in stores so thats kind of cool too. But man i wish they would let you explore the brewing area, that would be loads of fun. I bet this place is pretty fun on game days but I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing that. O the service, again, typical, okay, trained boring professionals. Well this isn't the greatest review and I actually don't really like pyramids beers, they don't have the best texture and lack body for my personal preferences. But aside from all of that I will be back out of convenience most likely.

I have a love-not love (hate is not the right word) affair with this place. It used to be one of my favorite places to go for dinner after I discovered the *amazing* meatloaf dish. It was incredible.. bacon wrapped meatloaf goodness smothered in a spicy tomato sauce. It was heaven... and now it is gone. They have changed the menu up, and the new selection is just average. There is a turkey meatloaf now, but it is nowhere near the amazing wonder that was the former meatloaf. Instead of thick, spicy, red sauce, it is some watery mess on the side. Heartbreak. I have been trying various new items in hope of finding "the" new entree. No luck so far. The burgers are dry and unimpressive. The brisket leaves a lot to be desired. The pizzas are ok. There is one thing on the menu worthy of recognition - the garlic cheese roll appetizer. Still, not great for a meal. The beer is excellent, though, and I will keep coming for the beer. (And the small chance someone will read this and resurrect the world's best meatloaf EVER.)

The beer garden at this place is pretty cool , good spot to grab a beer and just hang out before the game starts . Ordered garlic rosemary fries , nachos and the chorizo dip. The Rosemary garlic fries were really good I enjoyed them a lot. The chorizo dip is also pretty good had a nice little kick , but the nachos were not good at all ... of course the beers are good expect that at a brew house . I would recommend going to one of the many little bars instead of this place . But most of the time a little bars are packed .. So this is more of a worse case ..

I love Pyramid - the beer is delicious, atmosphere is great, and the outdoor beer gardens before games are a lot of fun. Normally I'd give this brewery 5 stars, however the last 3 times I've sat in the bar area, the service was TERRIBLE. We haven't had any problems until recently. The servers constantly chit-chat with each other and rarely check on customers. I'm all for being social with coworkers... But when it comes to customer service, which I have worked in numerous times, being social to the point where your customers sit and wait for you with empty glasses and plates is not acceptable. Next time I come here, I'll either try out the restaurant area or sit directly at the bar so the bartender can at least serve us. Otherwise - this place is one of my favorites.

We've visited Pyramid several times and usually try and stop there before Seahawks or Mariners games. My husband is in LOVE with the fish and chips. He has had them at a lot of different places and raves that the BEST fish and chips come from Pyramid. In the past, I have had the chicken sandwich, a burger, pizza and all were super tasty! It's consistent and we can expect good food. Have I mentioned the beer? We enjoy most of their beers, especially the Hefe and Thunderhead. Pricing is great and the service is friendly and fast. Highly recommended! We'll be back!

Was here for a Mariners tailgate during the summer. Probably one of the best places to pre-game - huge parking lot which converts into tailgate area. Fare is just average, but Pyramid brews are pretty decent.

Beer is GREAT but food quality and service has gone way down. Really a shamed but seems like they are resting on the location only

Came here for the FIRST time ever believe it or not!! I really enjoyed everything they had to offer. More of a bar type setting but what would you expect its Pyramid Alehouse and brewing place!! So I came here with my mom and sister and we had the following: The hummus and warm pita bread itself is worth coming back for!! It was delecious!! The hummus had an olive mixutre in the middle and served with yellow peperccini(spell check) on the side with WARM pita bread!! Mmm so good!! Both my sister and mom got a side salad, but it was a HUGE!! The both offered to share with me but I finished off the hummus!! But they enjoyed their Salad almost too full for our dinner. I ordered the dark beer, it was hella strong but tasty probably would have been better if I wasnt hungover from the night before but Im a beer drinker so it was good anyways. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwhich....it was SO BIG!! The chicken breast was bigger than the bun...but so TASTY!! The fries were so good too!! My sister has to watch what she eats, but she had the salmon burger, she enjoyed it, it comes with some kind of hella spicey sauce, Ask for it on the side is what I would suggest. Rootbeer is what she had to drink....rootbeer is roorbeer to her said it was okay. My mom got something called Bangers and Mash. It consisted of 3 types of sauges red potatoes and saurkraurt...it looked interesting, but she said it was very tasty!! I belive those were her exact words!! She didnt really care for the spicey one...my mo dont like spicey!! So that was our trip to the Pyramid Alehouse in Seattle, I cant wait to come back perhaps during football when my Falcons come to town and SMASH the hawks!!

Before every sporting event Pyramid opens up their beer garden. It gets swamped with people and they sell lots of beers for $3-$4 less than you can buy them for in Qwest or Safeco. I love them for that, but if I look at it another way I just become embittered that I didn't think of it first. They set up a massive kegger in a parking lot with huge lines, a couple tables, and $5.50 beers. Hundreds and hundreds of very thirsty sports fans. 1 keg = 124 pints 1 pint = $5.50 1 keg = $682 Guessing how many many kegs they drain and finishing up the revenue side of that math problem would just make me REALLY wish I had thought of it first. Oh well, cheers for beers at non ball park prices. Jeers for lines that take 20 minutes to get through.
