I eat here a lot. This restaurant has some amazing food. The french toast is pretty darn amazing as is the Salmon chowder, especially paired with the hash browns. I can leave happily full and no long hungry after a long nights work. I have met the owner a few times and he is a very cool guy, as are all the waitresses/cooks. Now if only they would get Monte Cristo's I would probably live in this restaurant and just live off of them. A+++ Service and food. EDIT (01/24/2013):.... THEY HAVE ADDED MONTE CRISTO TO THE MENU... Now I can die a happy happy man :)

This is my new favorite breakfast spot in Seattle. Great service & excellent food. Literally one of the best breakfasts ever...it was the perfect thing for the rainy cold weather that is typical of Seattle. My waiter turned out to be the Director of Food & Beverage and shared with me their future plans of turning the restaurant into more of a dinner destination with specialty cocktails and entrees that match the quality of their already delicious menu. Can't wait to travel to Seattle again and eat here.

Max's cafe was too wonderful! Everything was fresh and served in a beautiful presentation! By the way the hazelnut latte is to die for!!

The breakfast here is what you should order. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and egg Benedict special and they were really good. I really enjoyed it. I had the burger and it was just ok, nothing special.

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem inside of the hotel. At first, we were skeptical and hesitant to try it because it was completely empty inside. We are glad that we gave it a try because the food was good. We ordered the Huevos and I ordered the omelette. The portions were very generous, great service, and the food was tasty.

I tried the blueberry flaxseed pancakes with the chicken link and fresh fruit. Everything was pretty light and delish, the presentation of the dish was very nice. Although it seemed to be understaffed, the was only one server who was running around, the food came out fast and hot.

This is a review of lunch at Max's Cafe inside the Five Hotel. The staff was super friendly and effective. The ambiance is that of a simple basic cafe. It was clean and well kept. Caprese Sandwich + Chicken Caprese Sandwich + Chicken - This was a nice sandwich. It was freshly prepared. The mozzarella was warm and creamy. The bun was soft and very flavourful. The only negative was the chicken was very bland. tinyurl.com/koeq68o My brother had the Eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. tinyurl.com/mkhfxhv Receipt (Lunch for 2): $26.77 - We received a 10% discount for a first time check-in via Yelp. tinyurl.com/jwg5nrx Overall - This was a nice little lunch. It isn't the kind of place you go out of the way to visit. But, if you are in the neighbourhood and need a decent lunch or breakfast, Max's Cafe can do the trick. (One note - The server mentioned they were closing soon for a complete renovation. I do not know when this is occurring.)

I guess I must have gone there on an off morning. The service was less than mediocre, and the chicken cutlets in the chicken and waffles rivaled hockey pucks. So yeah, maybe it was an off day, but nothing is luring me to give it another go.
