Linda's is the introductory hipster bar of capitol hill. . . where begining hipsters can drink tasty cheap booze and eat really fabulous fries, burgers, and nachos. The back patio is lovely, the decor manages to not be chiche or cheesy, and that's why I keep coming back.

Mmmm... pre-func veggie burger and fries. Great place to have a cheap drink and scope out the tattooed beauties of Capital Hill.

One of the best bars in Seattle, especially in the summer, when the patio's open. Great staff, fun food, stiff drinks. It's awesome.

lindas always ends up being part of my night out. it never disappoints. the outdoor area rocks! except for when it rains (or snows), then i guess it's not so cool. get a black opal (or 3) and you will not remember a thing about the previous night..... good times

Located in the Capitol Hill area. The place consists of hipsters, cheap beer, loud music, and slow service(unless you go to the bar). All this equals a good, laid back time. No pretentious types or troublemakes here. Everyone here wants to talk and have a few drinks. Quite simple, quite fun.

Summer + back patio + beer + friends = AWESOME

Cheap after/before bar food is always good. From the burgers, to nachos, to toppings-covered-fries this place kicks in it's prices and it's drink specials. The crowd is nice and not as stuck up as many of the scenster-driven locales of town can be - enjoy!

I used to love this place, but lately...I'm not so sure. Good happy hour, cheap brunch, huge backdoor patio, too many white belts.

so i've often wondered, like other guilty pleasures, is fernet only good in the dark? few drinks transcend the am/pm barrier...you've got your morning mimosas, brunchtime bloody marys, and a lively mix of evening libations. could fernet live up to the challenge of round-the-clock grandeur? enter linda's tavern in capitol hill. situated along the drunken stumble up the pike/pine corridor, linda's is best known as a nighttime cave dwelling for hipsters clad in horn-rimmed glasses and tightass emo jeans. however, i was pleasantly surprised to find out that they also have quite a reputation for weekend brunch. as we've learned in previous posts, where there are hipsters, fernet is usually not far behind, so when the waiter took my order of breakfast sliders, oj, and fernet & coke, i knew that some god had been listening to my prayers. i have to admit that the service was slow as mud, but hey, some things are worth the wait-and yes, fernet is just as awesome in the am.

I would give 5 stars only for BREAKFEST! the weekend breakfest is one of my favorites. It cheap ,its good, its hard to disagree with. I can't say that this is a watering hole that I would want to frequant, though the back deck is nice during the summer. However for breakfest, Linda i will always love you.

my boyfriend and I love coming to linda's, especially for a morning brunch hangover relief on a weekend. you get a big pitcher of mimosa for $15 and the food is good too. we love walking here too on any day to grab a drink.

I probably frequent Linda's more than any other bar. I'm not always sure why. It is usually too crowded and sometimes i run into too many people that I didn't really want to run into. But on the other side of the coin, it is usually really fun. The happy hour goes till 9pm and they wil usually give you a whole bowl of cherries if you ask for an extra one (same goes for olives.) I think we go here because it is laidback, "homey," and close to everything, it's a good place to start off the night.

  • Margie N.

Pretty standard bar, nothing particularly amazing or horrible about it. Other than the pool table - which would be a good thing, not a bad thing, clearly, but there are many bars with many pool tables - I guess I just have a thing for playing pool. But I digress. The grub here isn't bad, the patio in the back is pretty chill. The chairs are kind of uncomfortable in the back, but you have to give them props for the paint by numbers mural [I'm thinking 17 = forest green, 39 = happy red, 82 = murder blue...]. Foodwise, the fish and chips were aight - the fries are better then the fish methinks, and I like that their chicken fried steak has a spicy kick to it in the sauce.

Linda's is Linda's. I love it and I hate it and that's the relationship we have always had. It's a Seattle institution and I have been both pitching and avoiding it for at least 5 years now. Your mother probably wouldn't want to have Sunday brunch here, but your best friends from college would probably happily meet you on the patio for a Mary or mimosa. As with any other bar that gets taken over by bridge and tunnelers, avoid on weekend nights and you'll be solid.

I've only been here once so far, but it was amazing. The best club sandwich I've ever eaten, amazing fries, prompt service and a decent beer selection. Absolutely nothing to complaint about.

  • Jessica C.

Drinks were pretty good. Ordered a blackberry margarita and they mixed the drinks up but the bartender and our waitress Rochelle, were super nice about it and got me the right drink. A little loud but it's to be expected!

Seriously, how have I not reviewed Linda's? Linda's is a Capitol Hill Tradition. I used to go here alot when I first moved to Seattle. I was in my 20s and lived on the Hill. It was the thing to do. Most recently I came to here to eat dinner on a Sunday evening, following an 11 mile hike. My, how things have changed. But Linda's has not. I think I even recognized the bartender from back in the day. The semi-recent patio upgrades are about all that is notably different from 8 years ago. There is a pool table. The women's bathroom is annoyingly tiny. Like the other establishments in this local "chain" (see also Smith and King's), taxidermy abounds. This is where Hipsters still roam free. I was impressed with my burger. I've heard brunch is killer. 4 Stars for the memories.

I had the pleasure of going to Linda's a few times on my recent trip to Seattle. The first night I went was the anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, and I guess Linda's is rumored to be the last place he was seen alive? This place was moderately packed when we went. It's a very hipstery type of place. I honestly felt like I stepped back into the 90s! Cheap drinks and cool bartenders. I tried a really good red ale, the name of which is escaping me right now-boo. Great music and crowd. If I lived out here, it would definitely be a bar I'd frequent.

Love Linda's! Ever since I moved to Capitol Hill a few months ago, I've gone to Linda's at least once a week. Great drinks, good food and an amazing brunch. There's a patio too - great for summer happy hour!

This place is great. My girlfriend and I were looking for a good brunch spot close to the house. She always wants to eat outside on a rare nice day. The back patio is hidden from the street but is awesome. The food was very well priced and good portions. The vibe is very hipster but is cool if your looking to get the capital hill vibe. The staff was super friendly and nice. I was greeted and said hi to many times by them. Overall great spot!

Very dark and seems like a college hangout bar. Pool table is available. They have a few beers on tap. I liked the pilsner.

  • Rachel G.

The drinks - decent to good The food - meh to aiiiiight The service - asldkjflakshgl;nvlkda;ldsa I was quite disappointed that they wouldn't make me a friggin' grilled cheese because it was before 3pm (and it was like 2:30) so I could dip it in my bloody mary! Is that not an amazing idea???!!! Well, it still hasn't been actualized because the waitress was too lazy to even ask the cook if he/she could slap a piece of cheese on some bread. I seriously would have fried it up myself on the hot, sun-kissed table we were sitting at had she just been able to get us some bread and cheese. BREAD AND CHEESE! It's so easy! I know you have it! You're dead to me, BMW driving hipster kids. D-E-A-D.

Come early for brunch if you want their famous Buffalo Bloody Marys. They were out when we got there at 11am. Ordered an omelet and hashbrowns (omelet was good, hashbrowns were awesome!), also had a orange champagne, which was just okay. The place is always busy, lot of loud music and crowd noise. For the food it's worth trying again, I just wish the music would be turned down enough so a conversation could be heard over breakfast.

  • Sasha R.

Great outdoor patio that allows dogs ;) big points for that! Came here for brunch, eggs had no flavor, the rest of the food was ok. Greasy spoon food. Really nice and accommodating staff. Patio smells like a frat house.

Linda's has just the right atmosphere for a neighborhood bar, plus cheap pitchers and a menu full of drunk-food to soak up aforementioned cheap pitchers. Perfect for Tuesday nights, out of town guests, or anytime you need a bar stumbling distance from home.

  • Nina H.

Love this place because it reminds me of King's so much, but it's much more convenient to hit up Capitol Hill than Ballard. They were smart in having two bars in different neighborhoods. Anyway, I've been here a few times, once for St. Patty's and once this past weekend for my bf's bday. Both times were pretty awesome. I do love this location too because it's right across from R Place AND Mama's so if we wanted to dance or eat, we could just walk a few steps across the street and BAM. The outdoor area is where we hung out both times because it's cool and there's just more space and tables. They will kick you out if you are intoxicated though, but not before warning you a few times. I decided to kick my bf out before the server could warn us for a 3rd time... He had enough and the server looked pissed so I didn't want to cause a scene so I escorted him out myself. Drinks are STRONG too! And cheap!

  • Jenny D.

I spotted a dog in Linda's Tavern. I was able to verify that they do allow dogs (preferably smaller ones, though well-behaved big dogs are welcome too). This is pretty cool, since Linda's is arguably one of the most popular watering holes on Capitol Hill. So a couple days later I brought my dog with me to meet a girlfriend for a beer (I highly recommend the Nitro Left Hand Milk Stout). The beer was delicious and my pup stayed under the table happily cleaning up scraps left behind by other patrons. He said he likes Linda's and so do I! doggoneseattle.com/aweso…

I end up at Linda's quite frequently. I like the vibe. Even if there is a touch of hipster pretentiousness, it is dealt out by generally friendly staff and clientele so I don't mind. The interior feels warm and cozy, and the outside area is genuinely great, even if it doesn't get much sun. Drinks are strong, and happy hour is from 7-9 which is fantastic. You can end an early happy hour pub crawl at Linda's. I've never had food, but I don't need to and this place still earns a solid 4 stars.

This one hovers somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me, but eh, I'm rounding it up! Not quite a full-on dive, but certainly not a formal venue by any stretch of the imagination either, Linda's is a fun, laid back, funky little bar, with some pretty damn good happy hour deals (And even when it isn't happy hour, it's still not a spendy place). It's also one damn fine spot to hit up on a nice day/evening, thanks to their back patio! There's a pretty solid draft beer selection/cocktail menu, and also a food menu, mainly of classic, greasy bar food staples, and brunch options (Which I haven't got around to trying any of yet, but one of these days when I'm back...). Bartenders have always been friendly, and on top of it whenever I've been in here, even on the busier nights. Speaking of which, this place DOES tend to get very packed on weekends, so do bear that in mind! Overall though, Linda's makes for a good spot to grab cheap drinks and relax.

Have I mentioned I love Linda's? It's uhm, super awesome that you can show up here after midnight on a weekend night, find a table quickly and throw back a few reasonably priced, very strong drinks before last call. Oh... and they have table service (*with cute waiters*) so you don't even have to get up and see how drunk you are. Only negative: one bathroom stall. Long waits sometimes.

  • Alex M.

Let's talk about brunch. For being the hip district, Capitol Hill is lacking in a lot of brunch spots. There should be literally one on every corner. There should be brunch spots inside of brunch spots. But there aren't and that is silly. Thankfully we have places like Linda's. Simple, delicious brunch food. Pitchers of mimosas. Laura Palmer's photo on the mantle. We're good to go. So take that hangover and cure yourself. Oh, also, if you have family in from the hinterlands like I did this morning, this place cracks them up. So consider it safe for them.

What minor gets a fake id saying they are 29?!? The bartender on Friday June 26th at 5:00 claimed my friends Id was a phony and refused to serve her. I understand businesses need to protect themselves but this bartender had a terrible attitude from the get go and when my friend attempted to show him further identification he said it didn't matter and he would not serve her. Well guess what? That other id she was pulling out just so happened to be her passport. This put a horrible taste in our mouths so the four of us left the already empty dismal bar and took our business to a nearby competitor. Maybe he was bummed out he forgot to get tickets to the next nickleback concert but either way that's not how you treat people.

Pretty ok to nasty food and bad service. Went for brunch and got steak and eggs. The steak was pretty good, but the scrambled eggs were pretty rubbery and not the smooth silky restaurant quality eggs you expect. I got a bloody mary, and it had a disgusting amount of onion powder in it. All I could taste was onion. I didn't have more than one sip of it, but the servers didn't notice/care or ask me about it at all. The hashbrowns were good...

They have a really great outside seating area. I had the veggie sandwich and it was really good. The service wasn't very good but other than that I have no complaints.

Linda's is a fun stop on a bar hopping night - I wouldn't usually hang out there for super long because it's always loud and packed and it can be slow to get drinks, but it's a fun place to hipster watch. If you like boys with beards and beanies, this is your place!! They also have a really big, nice patio, with a separate smoking section if you're trying to kill yourself. The patio has its own outdoor bar too which is super nice. Love it!

Lindas, I love you. Even the thought of you puts a smile on my face. I am a visitor to the Seattle area and spent one magical evening, and a fuzzy morning at this lovely establishment. I guzzled Tequila Grapefruits with wreckless abandon and still managed to keep my bar tab low. It took all of my friends restraint to keep me from throwing myself shamelessly onto the bartender, shit he was hot. In addition to being a bonafide 10, he pours a stiff drink. 4.50$ is pretty fabulous for a cocktail when it is 90% alcohol. God Bless that man. It's a shame I wasn't able to thank him properly.. Unlike last call when they turn the lights on and you realize who you're talking to wasn't as dreamy as you had previously though, Lindas is still wonderful in the natural light of day. Sunday brunch is amazing. Although I am a dive bar enthusiast, I am also a connoisseur of food and I know that more often then not the two do not live together in harmony. Lindas breaks the mold by serving delicious food. I ordered the Cowgirl Taco...It was perfect and paired with a 15$ pitcher of mimosa I couldn't ask for more. Our food took about three times as long as it should have to arrive, but I was smiley on champagne and didn't give a damn. I recommend you do the same - don't come in a hurry and get a nice morning buzz on. Whether you are in search for amazing food or drunken debauchery (or anything in between the extremes), Lindas has it on lock down.

This review is for breakfast and I have to say I was pretty pleased. Service was attentive, prices were reasonable, and there was something for everyone on the menu. The hash browns were the best part of the meal - lots of crispy surfaces. I also enjoyed the sourdough toast. I only wish they served espresso rather than just drip coffee.

Headed here for brunch on Sunday morning to find a queue (with coffee) waiting for a table, so my friend and I opted for the bar. The menu was basic, yet probably has at least one thing to satisfy any craving. My choice... the Rio grande omelet... YEAH!!!! Loads of bacon, cheese, tomatoes (which I requested be left off) avocado paired with some incredibly good hash browns. Both items had some incredible seasoning that set the meal apart from all of my other omelette experiences. Your choice of bread and this was a flavored packed, stomach filling meal. Dare I say this was pub grub with a kick? Sure... and it was well worth the trip! Oh.... the bloody mary's.... yeah, get one of those!!!!

Do it for brunch. Do it for happy hour. Do it when you're drinking. Do it when you're drunk. Do it when you want a BIG ASS plate of Nachos. This place is an institution. This is the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive. This place has veggie sausage. What more do you want?

They have a great patio! And amazing bloody Mary's! I also like that they have happy hour everyday!

How have I never reviewed this place before? I've been coming here for 15 plus years! I used to come just to drink and get sloppy...now I come for the always tasty brunch. The Eggs Benedict is my go-to favorite. The hashbrowns are always crispy, the hollandaise spot on and the eggs cooked perfectly. Today we went for brunch and much to my dismay they hadn't brewed any iced tea yet. I was pretty bummed and the waitress went out of her way to brew some up for me! The only downside is that it's REALLY loud in there. Don't expect to have a nice, quiet, conversation over your eggs and coffee. Other than that, it's a solid spot for brunch, drinks, bar food, and has become a Capitol Hill institution. The patio out back is awesome in the warmer months. Thank God for Linda's!

I like Linda's. I remember when Linda's opened and I hung out there quite a bit, but as my life and location changed, Linda's fell by the wayside for many years. I'm as surprised as anyone to find myself at Linda's all over again. Oh yes, there are much cooler places, newer, trendier and (the ultimate in trendy) LESS-trendy! But the staples keep 'em coming back, I guess. One of the most shining of Linda's stars has always been the 7-9 HH. Why more bars in the area don't break with the 4-6 10-close mold is beyond me. 7-9 is the sweet spot where I need a happy hour. Weekend brunch is reliable, comfortable and reasonably priced. Food and drink specials are always inventive, topical and well-played. The staff are lovely, fun and efficient. When weather permits, the back patio is legendary. Thanks, Linda's. I affectionately goose you.

  • Stephanie S.

My friends love coming to this bar. It's dark, smells kinda funny and is always crowded on the weekends. Love the back patio area, especially during the summer. Haven't eaten here yet, but their drinks get me plenty drunk, so that's a good thing. They have a pool table that's usually always occupied and a jukebox that I believe works. There will almost always be a line for the bathroom on the weekends. Ladies, there's only one stall for the whole joint. Yowza! I frequent this bar so there must be something about it, right?

I've only been here for brunch, but it's always awesome. Linda's has quickly become my favorite weekend brunch spot. The hashbrowns are awesome, the eggs benedict is awesome, and the pitcher of mimosas is the most awesome and normally I don't even like mimosas. It's nice to have a homey old place in the middle of a lot of bars trying to look modern and cool and whatever. This place reminds me of restaurants in my hometown, and it's nice to have that nostalgic moment sometimes. The waitresses are super nice and attentive, from my experience. It was a huge relief because lately I've had lots of bad service experiences, and every time I go to Linda's, it's totally not like that. The waitress comes at the appropriate times, is friendly and quick to offer a refill on coffee, etc. I never even thought to compliment the music playing in a bar before because usually I think it's pretty blah. But I've found some pretty cool new songs and bands I like just listening to the stuff they play. Anyways they're awesome. The only thing I didn't like there was the banana bread french toast, but you can't win at everything, right?

My fiance and I come to this place at least once a month. I want to emphasize this is the type that has breakfast/brunch options all day. We come here for Sunday brunch, when we have had a long night of partying, or a long weekend. We love the bloody mary's, it's like an appetizer because of the several garnishes on that drink, like celery, green beans, olives, a carrot, and if you get the Buffalo Mary, its a huge piece of buffalo jerky. My fiance loves it every time. We have tried a great variety on the menu and have never been disappointed. The last particular time, we had the huevos rancheros and the eggs benedict. The huevos were awesome. It contained two crispy tortillas, which were used to separate the poached eggs and the chili with the cheese. It was topped with salsa and served with a side of sour cream and hash browns. I ate every bit, it was so good. They provide basic condiments on the table and all I had to add was hot sauce. The fiance ordered the eggs benedict, which were english muffins that had ham and poached egg with the hollandaise sauce. Served with hash browns. This was yummy as well, and they were topped with cayenne pepper. This is not a fancy place, its a casual atmosphere, you can come in your PJs and still blend in. For the vegetarians, there are plenty of options.

One of my favorite local HH... Pitchers of mimosas on Sundays is a BEST!!! Great staff always... And I bring my pup on a chill night and am always happy and well received ... It's just a nice simple neighborhood bar with good drinks... Really gooooood drinks...

Awesome dive bar! Drinks are cheap and their happy hour goes till late--I think 9?!? Didn't try the food but drinks were cheap, standard bar. Only gripe is the bathroom situation--seriously one stall?!? Good vibe though, people are chill. We grabbed a couple drinks here and then hit the dance floor elsewhere--check it out!

God I love Linda's. So many great memories, as well as plenty of nights I can't remember. This place is just... cool. It's rumored to be the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive, which just ups its cool factor even more. But really, it's all about the cheap drinks and pitchers. Happy hour goes late (until 9, if I remember correctly). Quintessential Seattle. Always great people-watching. Come looking hot, if you're bar hopping later. Or come in your grunge wear and flannel. Come as you are. (Yes, I said it.)

I've been going to Linda's regularly for about 5 years and have loved every time- except for last night- because of a ridiculously rude and unprofessional employee. He argued with me that my drink was okay when I was telling him it did not taste good and rolled his eyes when I finally just asked for a new drink. When asked about a new menu item- instead of answering- he looked at my friend and asked her what she wanted. He is not new there. All other bar/waitstaff is incredibly nice. This guy is making me rethink my hang out spot.

5 stars for the bloody mary's. You will get your full servings of fruit and vegetables with this one. It's always crowded when I go in but well worth the wait.

I came here for the first time last week to have a drink and bite with a friend who works in the area. The bartender was extremely rude, curt, sarcastic, and basically an a**hole for no reason - not only to us, but he was doing the same to some other customers sitting at the bar. It's just unpleasant... I'll pass!

I came here for breakfast on Sunday morning. There was still a lot of room inside since it had just opened. (what can I say, I'm an early bird) I ordered the Ranchero Omelet which I had to smother with their green tabasco sauce... because I really like Tabasco and the Omelet was pretty ehh... HOWEVER, the yelp.com/biz_photos/pLUD… seen here Buffalo Mary made my morning extra delicious! Yes my friends, that's a piece of Buffalo Jerkey you see there along with that very enticing pepperoncini. That stuff was GOOD. And our service was very nice, even though I gave her a hard time since I couldn't make up my mind on what to order... Thanks Linda's Tavern for serving great Buffalo Mary's!

A few of us decided we weren't ready for our evening to end, so after leaving the cramped Living Room bar space we headed over to Linda's, which provided much more room along with a much broader selection. This was a great step up in terms of bar quality, for me, even though from all appearances it definitely didn't look like the kind of place I would frequent. The first thing I noticed here was a pretty nice draft list along with a lot of bottles to choose from as well. Right away this won some bonus points with me, as I had yet to make it over to Brouwer's to sample their beer selection and I was really craving a good pint. All the usual big name craft brewers (not quite an oxymoron yet) suspects are here, like Stone, Rogue, and Lagunitas, but there are some smaller great quality beers by Firestone and others as well, and of course the obligatory fratty favorites that end in some variation of Lite (sold by the pitcher). I was thrilled to find Stone's Smoked Porter, one of the best in that style, on draft, but it was nice trying some of the sort of local Ninkasi brews as well, as they aren't available where I live. Unfortunately we had just missed the late night happy hour, a pretty great iteration that runs from 7-9PM, allowing you to extend one happy hour somewhere else into a continuously happy night. The beer prices were still pretty reasonable though, especially compared to what I'm used to in DC, which I'm guessing helps fuel the large volume of customers here, as this bar as really packed. We hung out in the main bar area for a bit, but the real fun was had outside in the open air beer garden. The staff outside was just as courteous and timely as the bartenders inside, and we never had to wait very long for a refill. This felt very much like a neighborhood bar and even though I'm not from here it was still welcoming. I made a note in my draft review that there was a really cool crown here. I'm not really sure what that means, and it's likely a tipsy typo for crowd, but part of me wants to hope that somewhere at Linda's is a bejeweled headpiece just waiting for me to claim.

I would say this is a less-than-spectacular bar that's great to go to if meeting up with your friends is the number 1 priority. I was forewarned about the hipster vibe, but when I was there from 10-11:30p last Saturday night, it was a decidedly casual vibe (classic cut jeans and goretex, for sure). There was a definite lack of seating inside but we were able to share a table with a couple around us. Patrons were definitely polite and friendly. Something that really pissed me off, though, was that 1/3 of their seating is outdoors and they have tons of heat lamps -- but even though it was a chilly night, they didn't turn ANY of them on. This is a trend I've noticed and it's really quite aggravating. What's the point? I think we would have stuck around the rest of the night had there been heat lamps on.

Yowser's was it cold! We were outside, which is a pretty solid patio area, when out drinks came to us. They were handed over slightly on the warm side, but get this, it was SO cold that night that the drinks chilled naturally!! I would say that I'm a fan of this place. The crowd is friendly, the vibe is steady, and drinks aren't hard to come by. And if you're there on a cold night like that one, you can skip inside, there's plenty of room for you.

This place is SO capital hill. Lots of dirty hipsters, mostly keeping to their own cliques. I swear I've heard The Knife play on the jukebox every time I've been here. I don't know why I'm only giving it 3 stars because I really do like Linda's. They have a great outdoor area in the back and it's really a solid bar. I think the hill crowd can just get annoying after a while... ps, i hear this is where kurt cobain spent his final hours. ask the staff for more info.

Had breakfast here for the very first time... I ordered "The Bull Rider" which is Chicken Fried Steak, Two Eggs, Hash browns, and Toast. It was delivered to our table promptly and after some rearranging on my plate (I'm kinda particular in how I like my breakfast real estate parceled out), I tried digging into my steak using only my fork- a tactic that has always served me well in the past. The C.F.S. was having none of that nonsense, however. I initially thought that it was a particularly tough bit of breakfast. Turns out instead that the "Steak" in the Chicken Fried Steak is *actually* steak! Not ground up cube steak that's been re-formed to roughly resemble a slab of steak... An ACTUAL SLAB OF STEAK THAT'S BEEN CHICKEN FRIED!!! Really, do I need to say any more!? I did not know that such things were possible... (single tear) The eggs, hash browns, and toast were good, too. My only complaint is that the gravy had a bit too much dill, but it was still pretty tasty. This would be a great place to have the hangover breakfast! Guess I'd better get to drinkin'...

alright, so it's ten in the morning, saturday, i need to rouse myself in order to ride to u district streetfair, and i'm hungover. damn you linda! okay, so the weather's been good and it's made feel like being social again. really, i've hated going to bars for some time now. why? because i'm an alcoholic and always want to push situations. that's in my nature. hey, i'm learning. anyway, so yeah, here i am cursing the rotation of the earth and the birds chirping outside my window, and the existence of people with whom i will have to no doubt interact with. i really need to stick to hanging out at parks, and riding instead. at the very least, i will still love the world the next day. but i digress. last night, i realized what makes linda's so fun besides cheap beer and the patio-- it's dark as all get out! everyone feels anonymous and able to break out of their seattle shell. anyone thinking about opening a bar, keep that in mind. ok i'm done. i need to go away now.

I wasn't impressed by any of the food: coffee was okay, the banana bread french toast was dry, and the chicken-fried steak was tough.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Linda's, considering I've gone here probably about a million and one times. Anyway, there's not really much I can say that hasn't been said before, except that Linda's is probably MY favorite bar in all of Seattle. It's just a nice, relaxed place with a great patio, an awesome jukebox, a pool table, and cool decor. You can check your pretension at the door because they offer something for everybody and anyone is welcome. Yuppies and scenesters come together and realize, everyone, at some point or another, can use a nice, stiff drink. Sorry to see the bobcat's moved to Ballard, but I still love ya, Linda's.

Me like linda's tavern...been coming here since it opened..i really cant remember having a bad time here...just a cool bar on the hill... Back in the day..it was just beer...thank god they have the hard stuff...and they make one fine drink...food is decent...staff nice...tunes...solid.... and oh yea the outdoor patio is cool...just dont fall asleep like i have..and look like a lobster afterwards

Worst service ever. Linda's has turned into a pretentious hipster bar, when back in the day it was a cool divey bar with character. Hadn't been there in years, and when I popped in for a drink, the hipster waitress did the rounds taking orders and skipped by us twice. On her third avoidance round I asked her if we could order and she related to us with complete disgust like we'd just asked to borrow money or something. The drinks we got tasted off, and lacking in alcohol. We asked the people sitting next to us to try them and they agreed. So if you want to be ignored, treated rudely, and have your order screwed with when you take issue with that, than Linda's is your place.

I've only been there for drinks, but the atmosphere was great. It was fun, relax and laid back, a perfect casual hang out spot. Will definitely go back again, not sure if I'll try the food though.

Ginger was hot! ok, so it was dfens in a dress but still.... hot! no really... i've been to Linda's a couple times throughout the years & I gotta say, they have yet to disappoint me. When I first walked up to the bar, I had a beer in mind.... then I watched the bartender pour an amazingly strong white russian & I was hooked! aside from the fact that the guy at the door checking i.d.'s couldn't remember me (with my hair? Helloooo???) after I had passed by him 5 minutes earlier - I would say that was the only tarnished spot on the night

Great place to eat & drink! They have a great beer selection and typical bar food. HH is from 7-9pm, and it has an overall low key atmosphere. The food is average, but they're very welcoming. I can come in with sweats on and still get great service. I can stop by for a quick drink and it's still just as fun since the people there are so friendly.

This is the 2nd time I've been. Figure it's about time to write a review. 5 stars. Yep. First of all, them's some TASTY nachos. Hell yeah! They were even great burping them up later! I love a gift that keeps on giving. Second, the staff listened when we asked them to light up the other heat lamp outside and did it. And whoah nelly did they light that sucker up. I thought my head was gonna catch fire but I was WARM. OUTSIDE. In the RAIN. Fun place. Cool decor. Good nachos. AND WARMTH IN THE RAIN.

I love Linda's for the simple fact it has a later Happy Hour. It STARTS at 7 and goes until 9. Genius! Their drinks are also strong. For me that is an added bonus, but to others it may be a warning. I also love the patio, there are spots of both sun and shade, plus they have pitchers of Mimosa's, I could spend all day there in the summer...and I have. It's not the most gorgeous spot, and I would not recommend it if your looking for romantic ambiance and a quiet setting. However, if you are looking for cheap pitchers of beer and $3 sliders at 8pm with a rowdy group of friends, then yeah, check out Linda's.

An awesome time was had here, by me, last night. Yep, awesome! I had three gin + sodas because I had the next day off...so I figured three would be a good number. But then after drinking them, wow, perhaps two would have been OK. These drinks were STRONG...and because we showed up during happy hour, they were CHEAP! (See?? Awesome!!) Food seemed necessary too, considering I hadn't really eaten dinner. My g/f and I decided to split...ummm...I don't remember what it was called. It was a sandwich w/ lots of veggies and we opted for a salad instead of fries. Delicious on both counts. I fully intend on going back here next time I'm walking up the hill whilst hungry and thirsty. But if I work the next day, I'll remember to stick w/ two drinks. = ~)

I think my expectations were set a little high, considering it's status as the hotspot on capitol hill for a while. Uh, yeah, "meh" is a good way to describe my feelings for this place. Maybe I need to lower my expectations and go back. To be fair, I was already drunk and we got there right before last call so I didn't spend much time there. We'll see...

Third day in Seattle. Our host took us to Linda's Tavern for some drinks and this place KICKS ASS. I love bars with outdoor area and heat lamps. In fact, I toyed with the thought of getting my own heat lamps for my patio but decided that I probably can't afford the electric bill if I do own one. We came early so we got a really good table outside. It got really crowded later on, and some people actually starting to invade our table. I didn't mind sharing my bench though, my ass isn't THAT big. Or is it? After the greasy Linda's food, it probably will be. The reason why Linda's got 5 stars from me is because the bartender makes the BEST lemon drop and kamikaze shot E-V-A-R. Seriously. He actually taste-tested it to make sure it tasted good before serving it to me. I have NEVER seen ANY bartender do that. EVER. .. no, he did not actually took a sip from my drink. He used the straw and finger trick, okay? I did not indirectly kiss him. I love you, Linda... but why do you have to be so far away...?

Stopped by the other night quick fix for the first time. Ordered hot wings and a glass of beer from the bartender. I waited for the hot wings for like 15 or 20 minutes then noticed that the wings were sitting by the under heat lamp by the kitchen window. How did I know it was mine? Because the two servers were taking other plates but not that one. The bartender was too busy to get my attention as she was getting drinks for endless walk up customers. Finally, she looked at me and noticed it and briskly brought over the wings. I told her that it's been sitting there for how long and it's probably lukewarm and dry by now. She graciously offered it on the house. Well, the wings weren't fried all the way and it was still bloody near the wing bones. Zzz, it was comped and I didn't' want to call her back again, waste of my time and hers. What pissed me off was those servers. Why couldn't' they just brought it to her attention that the wings were sitting there for how long.. It's about 6-7 steps from the food pick window to where the bartender stands. I'm giving a poor overall rating but did tip more than 20% for her efforts.

I don't drink here because I'm not cool. But I have eaten brunch here many a weekend. I am big fan of their scrambles because the eggs are almost always cooked just right. And they're cheesy and greasy and just yummy in that greasy breakfast way that is totally not good for you. Also, pitchers of mimosas. I think the preceding sentence speaks for itself. Complaints lie with the occasionally loud awful music being played (I'm just not into AC/DC on a hungover Saturday) during brunch, and the fact that I think the portions are a touch small given the cost and the quality of the fare.

Oh Linda's. I don't even want to like you, but I do. You're dark, hipstery, and divey, and I just can't help but love your 7-9pm happy hour. It is great timing for happy hour--friends who work or live on the eastside can still make it in time after work, and if you're hungry--$3 sliders! This tends to be a spot that I hit up in the summer with more frequency, as their outdoor deck is a delightful place to while away an early evening while drinking pitcher after pitcher of Olympia ($5.50!) with friends. The service is good too--they keep it real and I like that.

I've only been in Seattle for 2 months and I swear I've heard Journey 8 times in bars. But Linda's was the first, so cheers to that. The happy hour sliders are pretty nice. The vibe was comfortable and relaxed the time we went.

excellent food, even better prices. you can definately go here after a night of drinking and spending and get a cheap, hearty, greasy hangover-fixer upper meal. I can only speak for the breakfast/brunch, haven't been for regular hours. The coffee was good, the "Lindas really special" is what I ordered and it was phenomenal; eggs, biscuit, hashbrowns, and sausage links. the only con was it got packed, but it was sunday morning, prime brunch time, so we anticipated a wait. Likewise, the food took a while to come out, but it was so worth it.

For afternoon drinks, dinner, or late-night drinking, Linda's is great. The patio in the summer is one of the best. Drinks are average and priced well, nothing fancy schmancy. The macaroni and cheese is really, really good for dinner! However....I am over brunch at Linda's. TWO STARS for that. Done with it. I have been at least ten times and it's really spotty. I work in a restaurant so I have an unusually high tolerance for bad service because I've experienced the hell of high-volume shifts, but seriously.... The waitstaff themselves are great, but their support (hostesses, bussers, etc.) leave a lot to be desired. Food is very hit-or-miss. The last time I went (which really will be the last time...) my pancake was incinerated the first time around, and the replacement cake was liquid batter hidden by a thin cooked shell. Obviously the grill was too hot, but wtf. That shouldn't be happening... The pitcher of mimosas is a really good deal so if I get talked into going back it will be for that, and I will have a snack at home first.

Great food. Super strong drinks. Relatively friendly staff, and they move fairly quick on a busy night. Mornings there aint half bad either. Only problem is the crowd migrates to more frat party style Fall-Spring cause of Seattle U nearby. Has a cool vibe otherwise.

Before heading out on Saturday, my friends and I gathered to determine a Capitol Hill destination. Whilst discussing which new bar to try, an episode of Northern Exposure was playing the background. How appropriate was it then, when we walked into Linda's and noticed the buffalo head, wooden bar, and lots of (pseudo?) hipster kids wearing various plaid shirts and hats. This must be the Seattle version of a townie bar in the middle of Alaska. I don't know what the social scene is like in Alaska, but I really liked the vibe here. We sat at the bar, so people were constantly jutting in to order drinks. This wasn't so much an annoyance as it was opportunity to chat us up and offer shots (we declined). Drinks were cheap, you can get some type of beer in a can for $1.50 if that's your style. It wasn't PBR.

This may seem really strange, considering the way I feel about the majority of the hipster hangouts on the Hill (yay for alliteration), but I LIKE Linda's. In a way, I think it's because the abundance of hunting art and taxidermy reminds me of the years I spent living in Idaho - a place where many a brewski was consumed in the shadow of an animal head. All the people who've said it's impossible to meet new people here make me feel like I'm just way too friendly or oddly blessed with an invisible "talk to me" sign. On my most recent trip here I did have a number of friends whom arrived before me and friends whom arrived after me, but I still managed to make some NEW friends. The crowd was actually very diverse and generally good-looking, but the drinks weren't great until I ordered a "tall". I think their main goal is to encourage you to order bigger drinks by rewarding you with more liquor (Hmmmm), as all my friends who had been drinking the tall drinks all night were pretty nicely buzzed and/or well on their way to blitzed. The brunch is awesome too. I did end up with a headache from the pitcher of mimosas, but it was completely worth it.

So I was making my "nightlife" or whatever list, looking for my Linda's review to put on there, and then realized.. what? I never wrote a Linda's review?? That's... strange. Pretty sure I frequent this bar weekly, actually I was there twice in one night last Tuesday, etc. But really, what can I say that hasn't already been said by 60 other people on here? However, I have to do this. FOR THE SAKE OF THE LIST. And because I enjoy giving props to my favorite peeps/places! Here is what we already know: Awesome HH (7-9, love it) with strong drinks, sweet-ass deals on pitchers (yes, "sweet-ass"), great staff, jukebox from heaven, huge patio with a sultry smoker's cove, hilarious dead animal/wild west decor (obviously, it's LINDA for god's sake)... Possibly the shiniest star in the Linda's universe is their brunch. I call it "hangover brunch" because... I always want their brunch when I'm hungover? And guess why? In case you haven't caught on yet, they have PITCHERS OF MIMOSAS. Hair of the dog? More like the whole fur coat. That's kind of gross, but you get my point. Some of my craziest, drunkest times have been here... yet I've never shamed myself out of returning... in fact, my fond/disgraceful memories only add to the charm of this establishment. There. I wrote my Linda's review. Done and done.

It took me a year to go back to Linda's after a random and non-satisfying experience there. Perhaps I was just not in a receptive mood that night, but either way, I've definitely changed my mind. A group of friends, the back patio, and some strategically placed heat lamps did it for me. Drinks are reasonably priced and pretty good. The atmosphere and patrons are really interesting. I'll be coming back more often.

I've only come here a couple times to drink, but for post-drinking weekend brunch Linda's hits the spot. The biscuits and mushroom gravy are awesome and totally filling, double-awesome when you're hung over and looking to please your stomach. The nowboy taco is good, make sure you've got a side or such if you have an appetite. The tofu scramble is my third choice but it doesn't compare to the scramble that the Globe used to have before the death of the menu. I'd recommend a side with the scramble as well if you're hungry. Of course, there's meaty fare here as well. I wouldn't know about that. The service has always been friendly, albeit a little sporadic at times. Today the coffee kept coming and coming which is always important. This place is good for groups when they aren't busy as there's lots of tables to slide together in the upper eating area. If you're looking for biscuits and gravy come in the morning, as many times they've been out when I've come in the afternoon.

How fitting that a peron who recieved rotd for your wonderful establishment would enjoy themselves so much....... Great times thanks Linda for always being there. One more thing you should have called me instead of charlie i miss your sultry voice. I know there are enough reviews about Linda's that anybody that does not know about it can figure it out. But I have to review a place that I visit on a weekly basis. Michael i have met her and boy does she taste delicious Dear Linda You had me hooked from the first moment that your lagunitas touched my lips. Little did I know that day that we would develop such a bond. Every time I visit you there is little debate why; good beer, good company and you Linda. I was perfectly happy with our relationship and then I did something unexpected I called on you in the morning.... You were just as breathtaking in the morning as you are at night and I would of never expected that. So thank you for being perfect in every way. The best part of our relationship is that my girlfriend like's you too. So people go to Linda's drink lagunitas at night and get the pitcher of mimosa in the morning and you will feel the same way as I do.

Always get great service here. They were doing a cool auction tonight that benefited the Vera Project, an all-ages music venue. Think the owners also own King's in Ballard. The two bars have a pretty similar feel... Both have a little rustic kitschy decor, cold tall boys, and nice outdoor decks in the back. Check out Linda's Cobb Salad if you're in the mood for it. Really good.

Plenty of people get excited about the patio for afternoon drinking, but for me, having brunch out there is really where the action is. I've been there plenty of times and eaten inside, but it's a much better experience out on the patio. Having the first meal of the day while getting some rays is easily the way to go, and less depressing than starting out the day in a dark bar. The food is always pretty good, and there are always specials on the menu, so there's something for everyone. My faves include the biscuits and gravy, the chicken fried steak, and breakfast sliders (it's not as weird as it sounds).

Rolled into Linda's around 8:00 on a Saturday night. We got seated right away, and had a great time! I can't speak for the food, but the service was friendly and fast. And, you can't beat happy hour til 9!

Came here for my roomates 21st Birthday....Okay not really my crowd of people or my kind of bar. It was small and I felt like the waiter person was trying to get rid of us....we had a group of about 10. I do want to say that I tried one of their beers on tap...and it was REALLY SUPER good!! I wished I remember what it was called...I wanna say something to do with night or something...anyway it was a Dark beer and deelish...I"ve never heard of it before....but it was good. Wont be going back to Linda's anytime soon.

All I know is that the morning following the night at Linda's (which I remember I HAD TO GO TO AGAIN since I was back in Seattle), I awoke with no recollection of how I had gotten back to my hotel, a full face of makeup, and all of my clothes on except my pants. Also, it turns out that both my friend and I had left our credit cards (my entire purse, actually) at the bar. Apparently at the time I didn't care, but I did in the morning! Of course, being in Seattle, the purse had been turned in, the credit cards closed-out with a reasonable gratuity, and it was all ready and waiting for us the following morning when we went to pick them up. It seemed to be a pretty popular lunch spot, and though I can't pinpoint why, I didn't even have a hangover. Linda's, you can do no wrong in my eyes.

Linda's, where all your dreams come true, as long as you restrict them to $7.50 pitchers of microbrew during happy hour, some tasty onion rings and a couple tons of animal heads. It gets busy, but it's pretty big and you can usually get a table without too much trouble. Plus, nice patio out back, and a dank smoker's oubliette even further out back. The bar staff can be a bit hit or miss, but the waiters and waitresses seem to be universally helpful and pretty timely given how busy they get. Case in point, of one particularly excellent waitress: We're eating some food and drinking some beer during happy hour and it's getting a bit full. My friend and I step out for a few minutes, carefully putting coasters over our pint glasses and even leaving a jacket slung over one chair. When we get back our waitress informs us with great delight about how some girl jabbering away on a cell phone sat down at the table and yelled the waitress over, breaking mid-sentence from her important phone call to ask when was someone going to hurry up and bus the table. When the waitress pointed out that people were OBVIOUSLY still occupying the table, cell phone girl huffed out a "whatever, bitch!" and stalked away. You can probably find her in Belltown if you look hard enough.

Some places don't really need any more reviews. Reviews aren't really needed for establishments that are rooted in people's minds and suggestions of stopping in are carried on the wind. Linda's is that kind of place. No one really needs to read a review about Linda's or look to the internet to learn that they should go and check it out. Linda's is something of a classic in spite of it's young existence. I write this review about Linda's though because it is a special kind of place. On the hill and literally on a hill, Linda's is a place where all pieces of the pie fit. I've spotted many a rolling stone lay their hat and call it home. This is a sort of urban utopia with an old fashioned western theme. Speaking of which, who knew the dcor would fly? We all know Linda Derschang is a savvy business woman, but seriously, this town is quick to disapprove. (I don't speak for all, I speak for experience.) But it works, it all works. The food isn't aces but the service has never left me angry. The people who work at this spot will exercise some basic people skills. The last remark may sound patronizing but it isn't meant to be. Kind of sad when one thinks about it. Many places in this town have an arsenal of employees who can't construct a simple sentence and when they do, one wishes they hadn't. It's nice to duck in to a place where I don't have to worry about what people do or don't say. Thanks. I enjoy the consistently good service and reliably juxtaposed clientele. For those who like to debate this Seattle Freeze business come prepared; new found friendships may be forged at Linda's and a stranger may sit down next to you and engage you in conversation. One can also feel comfortable going it alone too! I could go on about the merits of the place but I don't want to spoil the fun. Linda's is worthy of the good talk.

There is something great about Linda's. Maybe it's the strong drinks, maybe it's the outdoor seating and heat lamps....most likely it's the crowd that is always so fun to gawk at. Oh! And how can I forget-the bloody mary's are AWESOME!!! Come here!

Fast and friendly wait staff. We thought we had lost our phone in one of the booths and despite it being very busy the server went and brought us a flashlight and helped us look for the phone. Even though we didn't find the phone(cuz I was right she left it in the car) they were happy to help us out. French Dip with healthy amount of fries were very good. Walking all the way through the restaurant, up the stairs and out the back door leads you to a very big back patio which is where I prefer to sit when I'm there.

Drinks or OK. The ambiance is very interesting, like a rustic cabin that is a tackle shop, somehow it works. Interesting selection of music playing on a fairly decent sound system. It looks like the owner installed some mishmash of stuff for a sound system, it sounds better than the canned soundsystem junk that juke companies provide. The people seemed pretty nice considering a hip place. Oh! and the pool is a low low 50 Cents!

Not sure Linda's needs another glowing review, so here's the highlights: -HH pitchers cheap -Grump/Grumpster/Grumpy & Charlie D -hipsters, sort of -dive, but a good one -Linda rules Oh, and don't be scared if a man with 2 dangle earrings challenges you to pool. He's not that good.

In addition to late-night sexypeoplewatching, Linda's also has brunch. I am brunch-obsessed, so I try to eat brunch just about anywhere I can ;) They have typical fare, omelettes, pancakes, etc.. but it was better than I was expecting and reasonably priced. I like Linda's because unlike some of the other bars on the hill (*coughCHACHAcough*), it doesn't feel nearly as uberhipstersnob/highschool- "I'm wearing the latest trendy outfit/hairstyle and OMG is that so-and-so from such-and-so band? He's sooooo hot"). It's more laidback... a place where if you strike up a conversation with a person you don't know, you might have a real conversation vs. a "wanna come back to my place tonight?" ...... I'm upping it to four stars because I really appreciate the $3.50 mimosas at brunch. It wasn't a weak mimosa either. The food isn't fantastic or amazing, but it's reliable and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Would someone please explain the PBR-hipster connection to me? When my friends and I were coming up through the ranks and didn't have a pot to piss in, we would still turn our collective noses up at PBR, and the sole reason was it tasted like shit. Is that the reason it is the cool kid beer now? A wierd form of reverse snobbery? Anyway, Linda's is going to be a bigger madhouse now that all the Cha-Cha scenesters will kick it here. Still, it's a fun place to have a drink on the patio.

There is nothing more charming then being relinquished from the main bar to smoke in the patio. It is utterly more mystifying to be banned from the patio (due to the nicotine adverse) to the back alley way when said patio is full of snow on a rare but wintry evening. Even more so, in this dark and dimly lit universe full of delinquents and freaks with an affinity for geeks, the patio offers a delightful Eden in the warm twilight for those of us who merely want to surrender our inhibitions to inexpensive (but certainly not cheap) beer and banter that Linda's Tavern attracts, retains, and gloriously represents. This is the essence of Capitol Hill at its very best.

This place thoroughly amused me. I think the urban emaciated hipster grunge-cowboy look is my favorite now. Forget this whole rockabilly thing where dudes who have never been on a motorcycle but wear the jackets and have a cup of shortening in their hair. These cowboy types slay me. The thing that came to mind was characters from the movie Six String Samurai. Post apocalyptic cowboy hipsters are too awesome. Had half a highly decent club sandwich and the best onion rings I've had in town. Happy hour beers are super ultra cheap!

I'm still loving Linda's and the $15 mimosa pitchers! Good food, good people watching, relaxed environment = great brunch place.

Linda, Sorry I didn't call you the next day like I said I would but you have to understand that I'm a busy man. I just want to take this time to convey how much I enjoyed those two magical hours we spent together Friday evening. Let me first start by saying that as soon as I showed up to your place I was drawn to your jukebox. As I was walking in I heard The Libertines and I felt like you already knew me and were trying to seduce me. Well played on your part I must say. I was quite impressed. We talked about The Libertines for awhile and since you were down, we played around with a couple of more tracks off of their self-titled album. If it feels good, do it right? Indeed. Naturally the fooling around with The Libertines led to a slippery slope of wanting to play Babyshambles and you could tell that I was getting a little excited when pushing your buttons to access that disc. I inserted some coins into your jukebox and proceeded to play a couple of tracks off of "Down in Albion". You then asked me if I wanted to go back to your patio. I was more than obliged and it was great that you have speakers out there so we could hear our music. We sat around on Cedar tables drinking pitchers of Manny's talking about everything from biker bar incidents to commenting on what must have been an ambitious stoner that painted that "color-by-numbers" mural on the wall of your neighbor's building. We then had a stimulating conversation comparing Dirty Pretty Things to Babyshambles and what we liked about them and both agreed that we liked Peter Doherty more than Carl Barat even though Carl Barat is still a rawk gawd. Good times. I don't have to remind you about playing Vampire Weekend, The Kinks, or one of my personal favorites: Unit 4+2's "Concrete and Clay" off of the Rushmore soundtrack. You are my Rushmore Linda. Your bathroom was kind of dirty but given the type of person you are I am willing to look past this. I like you and I hope we can link up again in the future. Even if not, no one can take away what we shared together. You've got my number... xoxox, will

Why have I never been. My friend Ted W had his 21st B-Day here I think, but I didn't know him then, I've been wanted to go since. GREAT outside, it's like a deck party but there's a bar guy to serve drinks. What more do you want!

Linda's... don't frequent as often as i should This was my favorite bar for YEARS... I still Love it. Great Lay Out. Great Staff. Awesome Drinks. Good Music/Jukebox, Patio for Summertime.... Can't Beat it!

Maybe the best eggs and pancakes I've ever had. Great coffee. Great morning warmers, great bloody marys. How great must this place be that 3 out of the first 5 times I tried to go her they were closed, and still all I can remember is how perfect it is!?! 5 Yums.

Yeah. Nice, dank dive bar. Weird guy doing spreadsheets on a laptop in one corner, crazy guy giving pool advice in another. Lots booths and tables, plus a patio that would've been awesome were it not snowing. Added bonus- by the time we left, there were about 30 Santas on the premises, doing their 12 Bars of Christmas tour. SFcans- if you like the Lucky 13-type bars, this is a place to check out. It's very neighborhoodish/Missionish.

Meh. I've only been here once, but I was pretty disappointed. I am willing to give it another shot though. We sat outside since it was a nice day and had some brunch. The service was really friendly and competent, but the food wasn't good. I imagine that most people who eat brunch at Linda's are either drunk or hung over, so I can understand why people would love it, but I was sober. Way sober. I had banana bread french toast and it was way undercooked and mushy in a really gross way. It took forever to get our food and it wasn't even that crowded. The bad food and slow (but friendly!) service sucked, but my least favorite things about the experience were (1) the fact that the outside smoking area is so close to the outdoor seating that you get constant whiffs of smoke and (2) the fact that I felt like I was at a hungover hipster convention. Most of the people didn't seem like they were judgmental or anything (too drunk/hungover to notice anyone not at their tables), but I definitely felt out of place and I even live in Capitol Hill so I'm used to hipsters and douche-bags. I didn't hate it so much that I'd never go back, but it'll be a while before I'll be in the mood to try it again. Sad too since it's one of the few breakfast/brunch places on the hill. :-(

  • Stacy L.

Not bad, not great, but okay. When it comes to drinking - the bar gets packed with super "cool" kids, but the service is okay, and it's cheap. It's nothing great, nothing worth screaming about. But you won't have a terrible time. Odds are, you'll grab a drink at the bar and go out back to smoke. You will have to push your way through and hunt for a seat. But all in all, if you are in good company, you will have a good time. When it comes to eating - I wouldn't recommend it. Breakfast is probably your safest bet, but it going to be greasy and cold. So yea, don't eat there.

Fun times had at this place this past weekend. My friend celebrated his birthday here, and we were able to sit in the back patio at a long table, and enjoy the atmosphere and outside vibe. I walked in and was able to get a drink pretty quickly, which is a good thing. Everyone was real friendly, and we were able to chat with people at the bar, another perk. Then, we walked back to the fun back patio area and hung out. I got all of my drinks from the inside because it was pretty quick. The drink prices were not too bad, I ordered 2 kamikaze drinks for 12 dollars, and then I got a free drink from someone at the bar (so that didn't count).

I frequent this place quite often (so much that the door guy doesn't bother checking my I.D. anymore). For some reason people associate this place with "scenesters" or "hipsters", whatever. But, I find that there is quite a diverse crowd at Linda's. It's the type of place you can go to in sweats or in a dress and feel equally as comfortable. The drinks are usually really strong. And the food is actually pretty good. I mean, it's not gourmet or anything, but in terms of "bar food", this place takes the cake. The back patio is my favorite spot on a sunny day, but it usually fills up pretty quickly, as does the inside on the weekends. So don't count on getting seats for 6....or even 2 sometimes. The happy hour is alright. It's from 7 to 9 which is kind of weird, but it works for me. I usually go to earlier happy hours and then end at Linda's. I do think they need better food options for happy hour. The sliders are cheaper for happy hour, but that's about it. All I can say is, I love this place. It may be the dead animal heads hanging from the walls or it might be because they have Minus the Bear on their jukebox and I love to play Pachuca Sunrise over and over just to annoy my fellow drinkers and/or friends. But, either way, it's a great place to get drunk. Plus, it's close enough to where I live, that I can leave smashed and stumble home without getting lost. Update 1/28/08: I just tried out their brunch this past weekend. Delish! I had heard mixed things about their brunch. But, it was really good. My friend's tofu burrito was HUGE and was really good. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'd almost order that over a non-veggie burrito. The bacon is peppery and the pancakes are fluffy. Everything is pretty cheap and if you go at the right time, you won't have to wait too long for a table. Plus, pitchers of mimosas! For $15! I'll be seeing you more often dear Linda's.

    (5)
  • Mags L.

Ack! I want to like Linda's. I really do. I like the decor of the place. I like the attitude of the bartenders. I don't like the clientele. Perhaps I'm just not hip enough to fit in...

    (3)
  • A'son D.

I still avoid Linda's anytime after dark, however, changes in the kitchen have made it a very enjoyable place to get cheap breakfasty eats. The patio is a great place to meet up with friends for brunch and drinks.

A Seattle institution, and the crown jewel of First Hill. If you can get a good spot on a Friday or Saturday night you can catch a nice mix of Seattle's up and coming drunk cop. The prices are reasonable, and as a bonus, the brunch on Saturday and Sunday will knock your socks off. Get drunk there at night, then enjoy the Cowboy Taco in the morning. You won't regret it.

  • Linda J.

It's always crowded, but if you can find a seat it'll be a much better experience. Their breakfast is pretty good. They could have a better selection of beer, but what are you gonna do. It's a good place to people watch, that's for sure. It's definitely loud so you're going to have to yell if you want anyone near you to hear you. The jukebox is nice. You should go here at least once and see what you think.

    (4)
  • Jen J.

you're my bar away from home. i might just move to seattle for you.

    (5)
  • Jonelle T.

The bar is perfectly divey, kitschy, and I love it. Get cozy in a booth or enjoy the patio out back when it's nice out. I don't want to say to much because you need to experience it for yourself. =)

    (5)
  • Josie N.

Linda's is a good place to go for a cheap standard American breakfast, but they've definitely raised their food prices a lot over the last few years. I don't think I've had drinks there more than a few times (besides Blue Moon, their beer selection is pretty boring). Service is really hit or miss. Although usually when it's missing, it's with chagrined apologies.

    (3)
  • Sean B.

Went there with some cow-orkers on a weeknight. Weak beer selection, no decent ciders, not-particularly-good burgers, and a ventilation syste that is just overbearing now that nobody can smoke there. As far as we could tell, they were playing the Vice City soundtrack.

    (2)
  • Shu Z.

A decent bar that does nothing to set itself apart from many similar bars in the area. It's also a little too loud for my liking and it gets pretty crowded.

    (3)
  • Laura P.

Oh Linda's, I have spend some drunken moments here. The patio is great in the summertime. Make sure to try the breakfast sliders if you go for brunch, they are the true Seattle hangover cure. Linda's makes me happy to be home.

    (4)
  • Meaghan H.

Happy hour what?! $5.50 pitchers of PBR until 7pm. Lots of booths, outdoor patio open year round but much more pleasant in the summer, and did I mention their great happy hour? I went here once for breakfast and was not exactly stoked. Burnt pancakes? Really? I say stick to the drinks. And the jukebox.

    (4)
  • Michelle B.

Say what you will about "the scene" but Linda's has one of the comfiest patios in all of Seattle. I'm not exactly sure what is so special about it maybe it's that it is unexpected, or the fact that they have heat lamps, or maybe I just like the lopsided picnic tables. The beer is tasty and priced reasonably, the food is more than adequate, and the staff, well, yeah, they could use a bit of work. Just wait until six months from now when the rain stops and you'll see what I mean.

    (4)
  • J B.

Well, I'm a Happy Hour dive bar junky and this place fits. Since I'm usually on a motorbike, parking is doable. The sliders rock, the outdoor beer garden is too good (always packed when the mercury's north of 50) and happy hour is short but sweet. If I could help the uber hip wait staff to see new arrivals I would, but I can't, so they don't but I still like the place.

    (3)
  • Sarah A.

the good-- +bloody mary's +heavy pours +cheap happy hour +the veggie jack burger +the patio (during summer, anyway) the bad-- -good luck finding a table on a weekend -good luck finding a table during happy hour the wait staff is always working hard and they have a ton of shit to do so BE PATIENT. being nice gets your drinks to the table faster, just sayin'.

Yes, Please! I have been living around the corner from Linda's for a year now and had not managed to walk in. I love me some carby comfort food and a beer so I kind of always wanted to... but it just didnt happen for whatever reason. Finally the other day a girlfriend and I decided to go there for a drink and some fish and chips after work (my office is also right around the corner). The second I walked in I was kicking myself for never having entered before. The atmosphere was everything I love about living on Capitol Hill; hip people, guys whos sexual preference I cant guess and who dont care about mine. It walks a fine line on being pretentious and I was looking for that left and right but in the couple of hours I was there, I didnt see it. It was a beautiful Seattle summer evening so we opted for the patio. So, the patio... I am from Arizona and most if not all bars were patio bars, especially in the college town I lived in. I had not been to a bonafide patio bar since I came here and was pleased to find a private, outdoors and relatively spacious spot. There were no tables but we asked some people if we could share theirs and there was nothing awkward about that. I read a few reviews talking about how it used to be much better and the service is bad but alas, I have been here a year and I expect bad service anywhere from time to time. I dont have high expectations on customer service for most places on the hill. The staff is mostly kids that also live here and I give them the benefit of the doubt when they are slow to refill my water. But, to be clear, their staff behind the bar intimidated me at first but I was surprised how comfortable I felt towards the end. The bartender gave me, what seemed to be a very sincere "thank you" after I closed my tab...eye contact and everything. Historically I guess its where Kurt Cobain spent his final hours and as much as I want to be breezy and brush that off... I like Nirvana and felt sort of honored to be at a bar around the corner from home with such a stamp on rock history. Eh, all of that aside it is a good mix of all the kinds of people that live on the hill and I loved it. I dont, however, love the bars and clubs that the bridge and tunnel people come to (war room, neighbors, r place) but this definitely feels like Capitol Hill residents' own. I hope to go back and enjoy the patio a lot more this summer and the inside once the short dark days of winter come back.

A good place to start your drinking, but for some reason I just hate it when it is crowded, which it will always be. I like getting brunch here, but only if I wasn't here the night before

    (3)
  • Kristin N.

I am a Montana girl, and Linda's reminds me of bars at home. It's usually crowded, a little dirty, and full of (seemingly) straight men. Although there are usually no men in Wranglers and shit kickers, Linda's is my go-to bar when I yearn for that kind-of-shitty feel of a dingy bar in MT. Their happy hour is at the perfect time: 7-9 . Who wouldn't want a cheap pitcher of Hamms before heading out to the swanky bars on Cap Hill on a Friday? I know I do. My only complaint is that if you want to sit on the patio, you have to do a bit of sweet talking and lash batting to get a table as it is almost always full on a nice day. It is hard to stand up out there and attempt to drink a pitcher. I usually just ditch the pint glass and start drinking straight out of the pitcher.

Linda's is absolutely my kinda joint -- neighborhood pub feel, laid back, indoors and out, somewhat divey yet still somewhat respectable, and of course a reliable kitchen backed up by a number of healthily-pouring bartenders all around. I dig it. My gracious host Fobert took me here for a late dinner, and we immediately found a table outside. Ahh -- a large patio to enjoy the warm summer night, man, do I ever love Cap Hill. Although it was a bit dark, we still managed to (a) flag a server down, (b) check out the bar food-ish menu, and (c) sing Happy Birthday to a young 21-year-old gent. Good times. I chose the Turkish Delight, a Daily Special on their board, which was ultimately delicious save the non-toasted bread part, which I wasn't expecting at all. (Maybe I grew up oddly, but I was never a big fan of plain white bread on anything. I even lightly toast the bread on which I construct PB&Js.) But the ingredients were fresh and plentiful, and the turkey itself was delicious. Fries were nicely done, skinny and crunchy in all their fry-esque glory. But the highlight of our outside experience was definitely the drinks. I'm the vodka-tonic girl and Fobert's the gin-tonic girl. Together we create a force unstoppable. The heavy handed pours tried their best, and it was quite an enjoyable battle, but we won in the end (and they were so inexpensive at that!). ... Until on our way out we ran into some of Fobert's friends. Two incredibly hot hippie-style chicks, their adorable and hilarious boy, and his chill and totally awesome couple friends. Mad props to Allison, Steph, Sam, Paul and Lori -- you guys are SO MUCH FUN! Also, we all like to drink a lot. Thank you, Linda's, for bringing us all together!

  • Trevor J.

Linda's is the reason I've only reviewed one other bar. Well, not the whole reason, but part of the reason. I go to Linda's far too much. My friends and I always start out the evening thinking about all the new, exciting places we can go to, and new exciting drinks we can get, and then end up at Linda's drinking cheap PBR pitchers on the patio. The crowd at Linda's seems to be shifting from very hipster to a pretty even mix of hipsters and "bro's", but everyone seems to get along just fine. Linda's has a great jukebox, tiny bathrooms, a pretty good staff, and it's one of the only places left in Seattle to sit down and smoke. I haven't had the food yet, but I doubt it will affect my review one way or the other. There is some sort of unaccountable inertia at Linda's that keeps there on my nights out. I don't really know what it is, but I don't mind it.

    (4)
  • Anthony M.

I don't wear tight jeans with chucks, or plaid red t-shirts covering "vintage" Tom Wait shirts you can find at urban outfitters ... but I do enjoy Linda's. Never had negative viges with the bartenders, the jukebox is great and the outdoor patio in the back is awesome.

  • Quynh-An P.

Not horrible, but not great either. We came here on a whim because my wannabe hipster friend decided to drag everyone here. Sure that's fine, whatever. The waitress was really nice and accommodating, so I give them mad props for that. The other group that was seated in the outdoor patio with us...well...I hope I wasn't like that when I was young. The drunk girl dragged her equally drunk male friend over to our table and proceeded to ask us if any of us were single and if we'd be willing to hook up with her friend because she promised him she'd find him someone last night. Yeah...because everyone needs a side of STD with our drinks.

This was the second time that I have been to this place. We shared the onion rings YUMMY! I tried to order the Reuben and the server said they no longer serve it, they should update the menu or at least cross it out. I had my little heart set on pastrami with ooey gooey cheese, sauerkraut and 1000 island!! My friend and I both got a burger with guacamole on it, I ate about 3 bites and could not continue. Service was not as good as last time but not horrible for a bar...

  • Melissa H.

3 years ago when I lived 3 blocks away and was drinking in this bar at least twice a week it would have received 5 stars. I get up to SEA every couple months and last time I was at Linda's there was a distinctly bridge and tunnel elment happening. What?! I could always count on Linda's for disgruntled, disaffected, dirty tattooed hipsters getting wasted. I still believe though. Drinks are still strong and cheap. Music still good. Food still awesome and greasy. Let's just hope it doesn't get torn down so that another condo building can blight the neighborhood I love. Fuck you "progress" I fucking hate yuppies.

    (4)
  • Brian G.

Good service for breakfast, had to sit inside because of our party size, and they were out of biscuits, and my blueberry pancakes were underwhelming somewhat; however, our server was great, kept the coffee coming and was very gracious. The "tacos" were the score for our group.

Linda's is one of those places i've always avoided in Seattle, not only because it was a favorite of an ex-gf, but also because it tends to attract the same scensters as the cha cha, only slightly more strung out. However, this past weekend I ended up having brunch there, out on the back patio, and it was actually kind of cool. They even have a cocktail that is made out of Emergen-C, which is perfect for Sunday morning hangovers. So hey, have brunch with strung out hipsters sometime

    (3)
  • Lea S.

I forgot to wear my flannel when I visited Linda's. Oh man... I sure did get the stare-down and snarls... I'm sure they knew I didn't live in the neighborhood. Regardless, this place made me feel like I was at home in SF, paricularly similar to the bar Zeitgeist - the outside seating, the kind of people that go in and out, the bloody-mary's, etc. This spot was cozy and lively. Great Sunday brunch.

    (5)
  • R. S.

If you're a hipster (almost all of Capitol Hill except me) you're in heaven. Cool divey-bar. Stumbled in here after using my Cocktail Compass app on my iPhone and discovered great Happy Hour food and a pitcher of Olympia for $6. Not too shabby. Definitely a spot to take someone home. The hidden outside patio is a great place to party in the summer.

I hit up Linda's last night, expecting to arrive just in time for happy hour at 5:30. Well, for whatever reason, Linda's happy hour does not begin until 7pm. While this could have been advantageous had I known in advance, my ignorance of their unorthodox practices left me paying full price for my booze. Nevertheless, I had an enjoyable time chillin' out max and relaxin' all cool on the back patio. I would like to emphasize the cool and the chillin' as once the sun went down, the outdoor setting got a might nipply. Unfortunately, none of the staff bothered to turn on the gas heaters until one of the guests, obviously delirious with cold, got up and started messing with the propane tank. I ordered a couple of Guinness and the meatloaf. The service was friendly and reasonably quick at first, though once we began eating, the waitress became more scarce. The meatloaf was tasty, with big chunks of onion, but it was one of the crumbliest meatloaves I have ever eaten. Also, they were mighty stingy on the mashed potatoes. If I had known I was only going to get a wee dollop, I would have asked them to substitute the other veggies (evil broccoli and filthy, vile zucchini) for a double helping of spuds.

The food is greasy, but that's a good thing right? Cheap drinks before heading out elsewhere on the hill.

Oh, Linda's, how I love you. You feed me drinks on Friday night, and help me recover with breakfast on Saturday morning. Best Bloody Mary in town! Period.

  • Vince T.

Not a bad little spot. I came here with some supervisors who were trying to get drunk and were offering to pay for my bill. I decided to sip on white russians and gin and tonics. The white russians here aren't a bad little drink at all, the bartenders here make them very well. Their gin and tonics weren't half bad either. We were able to snag seats on the back porch spot and enjoy the weather that day. Definitely a nice cozy little place to kick it back at.

  • Amber A.

I don't know why but I love Linda's. Maybe its because its so close to my house. Maybe its because it has a dive feel to it. Maybe its because there are antler things on the wall. Maybe its because they have blue cheese burgers. Maybe its because there's always something good on the juke box. Maybe its because its just good.

I used to really like Linda's, I'm not sure why. Now I've decided I hate the place. The people who frequent it are too involved in their own fucking scene to be at all social with anyone new. It's pretty much totally irritating if you want to try to meet anyone new.

    (1)
  • Jen R.

Love the patio, feel like I'm in the woods in the middle of the city. Great service, try the Bloody Mary. It comes with the works, large celery stalk, pickled green beans, and green olives. So good on a Sunday morning. Even though you might be in hipster Capitol Hill, there is a mixed crowd here, and servers will go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of.

    (4)
  • Curtis H.

Another later visit a couple months ago, and once again my friends and I were ignored for quite a while before one of my friends got up to go ask for service. So, we don't really go there anymore. The food is pretty good though if you aren't worried about your waistline.

    (3)
  • Nathan B.

Linda's is awesome!! Great bar, great staff, great options on tap. Such a fun crowd, too. The back patio is super cool and fun on nice days. I've heard rumors of a Bloody Mary featuring beef jerky - going to have to try that one of these days....

    (4)
  • Eugene C.

There is nothing to bad about Linda's if you keep your expectations reasonable. It has a fairly decent selection of brews, strong drinks, indoor and outdoor seating, and a generally mellow crowd. I would have to say the atmosphere isn't exceedingly friendly. I would not go to Linda's by myself for some drinks, but I wouldn't mind dragging two or three of my friends and then meeting new people while I'm there. So... I guess it doesn't make this place a single's bar, but it does have a chill mood, conducive to conversation and meeting groups of new people.

  • Joey Y.

this used to be the watering hole for me and my boys in college and i still kind of have a soft spot for it, no matter how packed and shitty the crowd gets. the back patio is still lots of fun-- you get to sit around outside when it's nice out, even though the hipsters/scenesters get all irritated that they can't smoke anymore. word to the wise: don't even think of coming here by yourself or with just one other person. it's just not that kind of bar. you'll be rubbing elbows and touching tongues with the most beautiful, trendy kids on capitol hill on even the slowest of nights at this bar. this place gets packed and most of the people are regulars who don't mind putting their finger up your butt to get you to scoot over. so make sure to ditch those piss poor pints, man the fuck up, and order a pitcher for the entire table, you pithy fuck. pbr/manny's is the brew here and the bartenders are usually really helpful and pretty fast on their feet. and i don't really know this linda woman, but she has an eye for the sexiest female busers/waitresses. i wish she would bear my children. there's the whole "you're in montana!" vibe with the decor, but whatever the fuck. with one or two pitchers, you get used to the room and unfamiliar faces around you. also, i recently had brunch there for the first time. steak & eggs. they were done up pretty damn good, especially for the price ($10). along with my bloody mary and good company, it made for a fucktacular brunch. god speed you, linda's. GOD SPEED YOU.

    (4)
  • Andy G.

Yea, it's a hipster place to go and the food isn't bad. It's cheap and it's got a lot of history. But honestly, that doesn't give the staff any reason to be so rude. Honestly, it's your job to wait on your customers - if you want to talk to your friends and other wait staff, maybe you should come here when you're not being paid to bring us coffee, beer, food. Oh and when you have to say "i'm sorry" every time you come to our table, it's probably a clue you're not doing a good job. It's a cool bar and I'll give it that, but you're not too cool for school to wait on your tables. Spare me your emo bullshit.

    (2)
  • Alex H.

Even when this place used to be "fun" I was never that impressed. It does have the best outdoor ex-smoking patio in Capital Hill, and the food is okay, but the massive influx of douchebags into the neighborhood has rendered this place unpatronizable.

    (2)
  • Justin B.

Pretty simple: Good atmosphere (in a college bar/hunting lodge sort of way), great food and good beer selection. The $7 pitchers of microbrew are awesome (can't remember if it was a happy hour special or not). The patio is nice for those times when its nicer outside than in. Its really comfortable in this bar (in the Cheers sort of way). The breakfast is great.

Fried comfort grub, loud music, and cheap beer. It's like Valhalla for hipsters. Mike's Meatloaf is dee-lish, and the patio is a surprising oasis, even for a non-smoker like myself. Check out the wall o'pictures and see if you can find ex-significant others - then try to refrain from adding mustaches and devil horns to them.

This is one of my favorite places in Seattle for hanging out on a Sunday and having brunch -- mimosas by the pitcher, and a reasonable brunch menu. I love it, but avoid it like the plague on weekend afternoons/nights when it is completely overrun. It has a pretty good menu which is occasionally prepared unevenly, and some great bartenders.

I remember this: I was at a show with some firends up at "Neumo's". Cocktails. Humping a taxidermy bobcat in the corner at Linda's. Waking up in a 'travelodge' completely naked. On the way to the airport finding a tab for $260 from 'Linda's.'

I love havana's.... but omg linda's seem to be open.. ok guys I am really a sucker for busy places that I might have to wait for for a table~~~ and i didn't... I just sat at the bar top and got a great stiff drink.. it smelt a little bit wierd and I wish I had some purell on me.. but whatever.. I can't be that much of a snob!!!!! but all in all.. two grey goose sodas.. basket of fries tres bien..... :) happy christmas nina

I'm not really into hipster joints for boozing, so the brunch is what bumps this place up to a 4 star. Its nice to have a place that serves vegetarian breakfast food that doesn't involve eggs and doesn't taste like ass.

Walked around Seattle during a conference looking for a chill bar to chat with new friends. This place is perfect for catching up with people as the music doesn't blow your ears out. Nice roomy tables and booths plus a pool table. Ladies: beware of territorial pool players who magically appear above you on pool wait list. I somehow was "next up" three times in a row. Luckily, I was so pleased with the atmosphere and bar service that I didn't take it to heart. The bartender was great. Three of us ordered at once and as he was pouring, I commented on how I didn't really like the taste of a certain liquor. He came back with a different brand that had more spice and was complimentary to the one I had just ordered. Thoughtful and eager to please. We all appreciated the luck of stumbling upon this place late night. We didn't order any food so I cannot comment on the grilled cheese/ sucky server/ bloody mary debate. Sorry.

good place to start the night or a great place to just enjoy a beer and some fries. get the onion rings! beer battered and delicious with beer. i like u so much (or maybe its cuz i'm poor) that i drank my beer out in the patio in the cold. but they do have heat lamps out there and it is smoker friendly. happy hour is from 7-9 pm ($3 wells and beer, $7.50 pitchers, $2 pints and $5.50 pitchers of PBR, $3 sliders). DO IT! and dress casual. is it me or is the bouncer always "reading" a book?

when i drive the 60 something miles from olympia, to seattle it's never a complete weekend without linda's. to be more correct, it is never a complete weekend without ritchie, who brings me mimosas, clad in some sort of tight and hot outfit, who can also be found creepily lurking in the shadows smiling indulgently, pleased with himself, and holding a large container of coffee. next to ritchie is kelly who gives service with a smile a facelift. kind of like face off the movie but cuter. she even picked out all offensive honeydew melon from a fruit cup, for one ms katherine powers when asked for the least amount of honey dew she could possibly manage. oh linda's. you are a wild thing in my head.

Linda's is a great bar with a sweet juke box, and a nice patio. Decent breakfast. I have a lot of good memories of this place, but my fondest is closing down the bar while on my first date with my baby.

Linda's is a great place for sitting out on a patio and splitting a pitcher of beer with friends. I can't speak much to the weekend crowd, I tend to go at "off" hours, before shows on the weekdays or too early for the night rush. That being said, it's relaxed and has a very casual city feel. The jukebox is great, and I've never had bad service! I have the urge to paint in the Paint-By-Numbers wall art in the back though, or at least know what the color key is!

What I would do to have a dive bar/restaurant/breakfast/lunch/dinner spot like Linda's within walking distance of my apartment... this place amazed me! After experiencing the likes of Fantagraphics, Shorty's pinball bar, and Archie McPhee, I thought I surely had been to the top 3 coolest spots in Seattle. And then we made our final Seattle stop before we got back on the 5 and headed off to the airport... which was Linda's Tavern. We barely made it there after a morning spent in Pioneer Square and a much needed stop for fish n' chips for BF at Ivar's... but I talked us into to making a final detour to Capitol Hill where we found parking easily and entered (as I said) one of the coolest bars I've ever been in. The Cure was blasting from the juke box, the taxidermy held a heavy presence on each wall, the chairs & tables were old and just the perfect amount of dirty, the waitresses were super cute & friendly and reminded me of myself say 10 years ago (ouch). They have breakfast cocktails like no other including a PBR & V8 combo as well as a drink made up of emergen-C & vodka. I chowed down on the Cowgirl Taco which was perfection (a tortilla filled with hash browns, eggs, veggie sausage & cheese). Serious breakfast food. The food and drinks are super cheap and they have outdoor seating as well. If I could, I would live here. Cheers.

any place that encourages friends to gather 'round a pitcher of mimosa and nurse their hangovers together is a place of which i'm rather fond. so far i've had the eggs (fantastically greasy), the bacon (spot on crisp), the toast (golden squares of joy), and the french toast (sofa king delicious). i'm also a big fan of the huge outdoor section in the back, with its seemingly endless depths and many choices. covered nonsmoking? check. uncovered nonsmoking? check. uncovered smoking? check. smoking under a big fluffy tree so the light rain barely touches you?? CHECK. missing a star because the service is spotty at best.

Montana power! Made me miss the city of Missoula a bit but then I realized the pitchers of PBR that are soooo cheap at HH. I forgot all about not being in the great state of Montana and it actually made me high five my roommate for all that the city of Seattle has to offer. Don't tell them I'm a traitor.

i really liked this bar... the parking sucks in that area but it was worth driving around for a few minutes as the drinks were cheap and the food was decent bar grub...i got a grilled cheese with tomato and it was just right...not too greasy and just cheesy enough... bet i would hang out there regularly is i lived in capitol hill... bathroom line could prolly get ridiculous if it is busier than it was when i was there...that's a bummer...cool patio/deck thingy too..bet it's super nice when the weather isn't crap... did i mention how cheap it is...yeah...cheap... we had two pitchers, each had a mixed drink and two sandwichs and a large order of cheese fries and it was only 30 bucks for the three of us... that's pretty awesome... i heard this bar was also one of the last places in seattle kurt cobain visited before he died...(i have absolutely no idea if that is true...but whatever... i like gossip) i need to check out brunch and i'll update... yay for bars named after chicks!! :)

Linda's is a staple. A landmark, and a tasty one at that. Its the perfect meet up place for a group of friends looking to unite over a pitcher. The bar, upon first entry, can seem a little stifling and over crowded, but in the summer months the back patios really help to alleviate all that crowded tension. Regardless, Linda's brings a smile to your face with a jukebox and a frosty Blue Moon, which on some nights is all you need! The waiters/resses are easy going and don't ignore anyone who's trying to get a cold one, making it pretty simple to get a brew. I can't speak for the food or the mid-week atmosphere, but the weekend evenings are a blast! Enjoy!

Great place to hang out. Nothing too special but very comfortable, the people are nice, good beer and great music. The rating would depend on your age. Unfortunately I'm in my late 30's so I was probably way to old to be at this place but I still had a good time. If your in your 20's, especially early 20's this place would be perfect. Stumbled upon it on accident and glad we did.

My only regret is that I didn't discover Linda's sooner! I've been there a couple of times for partying and drinks, and a couple of times for brunch. At night it's awesome because of the big back patio area, and for brunch it's awesome because the food is amazing and the staff is super friendly and attractive. You won't be sorry!

4 star Evidence- I would come back and bring people with me for brunch I want the shirt they are selling with the deer/moose/elk on it Further Evidence- Having read the reviews before I went gave perspective- but I now don't agree with quite a few. It was not crowded for brunch- it was actually half full. There was many items I wanted to order, and I was happy they had veggie sausage and tofu on the menu- I went with the intent to eat "healthy" but the great veggie benedict dragged me in. The hash browns actually had a seasoning and the food had flavor- pretty good for a "dive" joint. There was a mix of people and it didn't seem to sceney to me at all. It was a great place to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while who conveniently didn't have a car and will only go to places that are walkable. The service was OK- I needed water for a really long time- but I sometimes feel bad about it because I can be a camel and how would my server know about my water habits. The prices looked like every other place- there was no sticker shock. I will be back in the summer or anytime with sun(never know when that will be) and I will sit out on the back porch... It has been decided.

While I have been to Linda's twice, once for happy hour and once to finish off the night, I had never encounteres such great service as I did on Friday night by Leah (sp) She was not only very helpful but took a minute or two to chat it up. Which made it more barable to wait for our drinks. She is smart and understands that her job is to help us have a good time. Now if we could only get people to stop playing stupid music on the stupid Music Machine... Argh.. People - I don't want to be deppresed while I drink!

ive only been to lindas once. but my best friend goes there all the time and she swears by it! before i went there she was raving about it. lindas this lindas that. maybe it was because all her friends went there maybe it was because of the drinks, i dont know. but she loves it and now SO DO I. there is just something about the atmosphere. theres an inside and outside area. then theres a smoking section in the way back. maybe i was drunk but considering how crowded it was i thought the service was really good. bartender was quick with the drinks. i think this place is good for both large groups of people who wanna get rowdy and then its good for a small group that wants to just hang out and have some drinks. also i think i saw a pool table inside. anyways. i thoroughly enjoyed my lindas experience...

I hate drinking on the Hill, and not because of all the Hipsters and amateur drinkers, and panhandlers and filthy street kids in front of Dicks...but because the bars are all extremely overcrowded. So I avoid the place as a whole, cause I like to sit in a dark corner when I drinks. (Or lay in the fetal position on the ground, but I wouldn't do that on the floor of Lindas...again.) But....that aside, I like to go to Linda's for BREAKFAST!!!! They have pretty great b-fast food here for a bar. Most plates are available for under $9.00, and they have my fav-- STEAK & EGGS. I like my steak medium, and my eggs over medium. They usually get it right!! They have a pretty good Bloody Mary...not as good as Hattie's, but whose is, really? I like to get there for a late breakfast, like after noon, so the morning rush has cleared out. There is always pretty, hung-over, and pretty hung-over people to look at, and you can get drunk in the morning. Which is a plus. I'm out GRR

I know I am going to have the wrath of Cap Hill Seattleites rain down on me for this review, but I can't stand Linda's. My first experience was before the smoking ban took effect and I was literally gasping for air (mind you I came from pristine smoke free Boulder, Colo). The next few times I came it was so damn crowded that I had to stand with my cheap ass beer. It seems like all the hipsters get here at 6 and hold down the booths for the rest of the night. Last time I went was with my persian friend's mom and we clearly had one drink each and quickly left for dinner. What can I say....cheap beer and strong-handed drinks, but not worth it for me when there are so many other bars around.

I LOVE LINDAS :) hands down my favorite spot for Happy Hour on the hill! the food is good, drinks are cheap, its always busy but never seems too loud, and the bartenders are great! Im definately not a hipster by any means and there definately are a lot who frequent the place, but i've seen some reviews on here where the Linda's crowd gets a bad rap, mostly just for how they dress or what they are into. the atmosphere is friendly, simply put. never mind the haters and give Linda's a shot!

I miss the Linda's food that I came to love so much when I first moved to the hill. The Nowboy Taco used to be amazing, now it is only lackluster. The tofu tastes weird, the tortilla is usually burnt, and they took away the delicious green salsa and replaced it with something that looks like salsa. The last time I was in there, I was served meat in my Nowboy; and became ill after eating the replacement meal that took 45 minutes to get to me (which caused me to ask aloud, "did they fry the hash browns in bacon grease?"). Today I was in there and my water glass smelled like wet dog. In an effort to avoid sad sadness about the Nowboy, I had a Cowgirl Taco and the eggs were runny and I've been feeling ill since. They changed the biscuits (now they're crumbly instead of flaky), and the coffee gets worse every time I go. I've been eating there less and less, but I think today might have been my last visit for the brunch.....I think it was the dog water.

Linda's is a perfect place to chill on a warm night - or even a cold night. The patio is big enough to give cramped Capitol Hill dwellers an open patch of sky, and the heat lamps do their work well. Tips: bring a group of friends, as mingling doesn't exactly happen, and don't order margaritas with salt, as the whole thing is likely to taste salty. But fries are a must, and happy hour goes later than most other places!

Hands down the best place to eat when you're hungover. Those bacon and eggs soak it all up just right. And the music, it makes you feel like you're just starting your day.

I've been going to Linda's for years now. It's always been one of my reliable spots for eating and drinking on the hill. After going there this past Saturday for brunch, I think I may have to rethink ever eating there again. First I have to preface this with the fact that I love pretty much every place Linda has ever opened. I love her other bar, Smith, and try to eat there at least once a week. The service at smith is amazing and the servers are always quick and on top of everything. My breakfast at Linda's on Saturday was so poor quality that I couldn't even eat it. You wouldn't even think these two places were owned by the same person. My hash browns were cold and stale, the eggs were runny, and the bacon was cool and rubbery. I think I finished 2 pieces of toast before calling it quits. The poor server noticed I hadn't really touched anything but I think she preferred to just not mention it. I love this place and will continue to go there for drinks on the patio; I just doubt I'll ever eat the food again. I wish they would take a cue from Smith and raise the bar for their food.

The bartenders at Linda's know their shit and if you live on the Hill, it's likely pretty easy for you stumble home. Sure, there's a good share of hipsters here - but if that makes you super uncomfortable, you're probably living in the wrong neighborhood anyways. If you are visiting Seattle and have some time, I'd try to stop by Linda's too. Just don't come alone because you'll probably feel a little weird. Ideally, go with a group and try to find an open table. There's picnic tables out on the patio if you don't mind being with the smokers.

Linda's is a good, unpretentious bar that doesn't try too hard to distinguish itself. And it doesn't really need to, I guess. It's usually pretty busy, given it's prime spot in the Pike/Pine area and comfy patio (with gas heaters for the winter). Drink are pretty typical, average pricing, no fancy specialty drinks or anything. Like I said, unpretentious. But don't confuse a lack of pretense with a lack of quality, because Linda's is easy to settle into.

i think i might have a biased perspective on this bar. i really like it because it's chill, there's booths and most importantly they have pitchers of beer. but this is coming from someone who has spent nearly her entire drinking life in los angeles where you can't find a bar with 5 miles to serve you a pitcher of beer. so i totally dig on that at linda's. i've been there twice now on my various visits to seattle and it's never done me wrong.

With it's jukebox and great selection of music this place is always hopping on a Fri or Sat night! The bartenders are always on it and if you are craving mac and cheese don't pass up on theirs! I have never paid a cover and it is at a great location on the hill. A great neighborhood hangout!

    (4)
  • Becky G.

OMG! How have I not written a review? I come here all the time! My favorite place to sit is the round booth or outside on the back patio. I almost always bring my bar crawl here. You can always make new friends here. And chat up your old ones. I have so many memories here I can't even put them all into words right now. Emily T pretty much sums up how I feel about Linda's, so read her review too!

What takes this place from 4 star to 5 is the back patio, especially on a nice day. A great place to hang out with friends at the end of the day. 5 stars in the short Seattle summer. A bartenders are cool, and give great pours. The vodka rocks I just had was nice and stiff. There's a pool table which seems to attract some real good local players if you want to be challenged. Linda's is a local institution and is rockin all the time, every night of the week. Bonus: Hot Momma's Pizza is right across the street.

What else can you say that hasn't already been said? Linda's stays true to what it is: a neighborhood chill out bar. Food. Drinks. Pool. Heated Patio. Great place to take out all your life stresses. While I've been here a lot for late night prowls, I just had brunch and feel obliged to ramble. First of all, we weren't originally planning on eating here, BUT just walking by we saw the line and were intrigued by the menu. So we took a glance and as my tummy rumbled I was already humming The Clash song "should I stay or should I go...?" We found out it was only a 10 min wait and right there I decided to stay. Excellent choice all around....we were seated in like 5 minutes and immediately offered coffee and bloody marys. My favorite welcome to a new day =) Ordering was fast and efficient. The short wait was filled with the ever so delightful viewing of the walls/posters/paintings in the light when you have more attention to detail slash can actually see and notice your surroundings. I do love their concept. The owners know how to make you feel comfortable and yet a little non-traditionally Seattle. It's like your home away from home that happens to have a full bar, kitchen, animal heads on the wall, and of course the jukebox in the corner. I ordered the eggs benny (my go to classic) and was delighted by the view. Delicious eggs on ham on an English muffin surrounded by hashbrowns. Me and my fork just about died and went to hollandaise sauce heaven. My only qualm might have been that the egg was more cooked than I usually liked, but not specifying how I preferred the UBER ooey gooey goodness I had a 5 second fit with myself and then dropped it for the crispy potatoes that were already getting cold. Yummy and sunday-morning worthy, Linda's brunch is a thing for Capitol Hillers to be themselves: hungover on the weekend =)

Discovering a good ol' greasy breakfast on the weekends at Linda's has made my life complete. Truly, what else could a girl ask for? Not only is it close by - it's DOWN HILL (very important to this yelper ;)) - and I can get a pitcher of Mimosas for $15 and the best bloody mary on Capitol Hill - in my humble opinion - for a very reasonable price!! Get the "Buffalo Mary" instead and enjoy your drink with a LARGE stick of buffalo jerky...mmmm...(if maybe a leetle heavy!). Don't get omelettes here and definitely go for the Huevos Rancheros, Cowboy Taco and Linda's Really Special. The Blue Corn Migas are super tasty, too! Linda's sans breakfast is a great bar - dark but not unfriendly. The back porch is great to eat or drink on and the smoking area is wonderfully accessible for those of us who subscribe to nasty, nasty habits. Highly recommended.

I came here while visiting my friend in Seattle, and besides the lore of this place, we visited because my friend loves it here. It's a relaxing place to knock down a couple pitchers of beer. Happy hour is reasonable. By the way, they also have a good playlist. Yes, the bathrooms are crappy-- I didn't get trashed that night so I guess the bathroom wasn't too much of an issue. I would hate to think that I would be kneeling on that floor though... yeck. Plus, I think I interrupted something when I went in there... these two chicks' dirty looks told me I intruded. Go to the bathroom on the bottom floor. But that's besides the point. The beer was good, and our server was nice and checked in. She was pretty cool about our slowly growing group as well. (I don't know, some servers get huffy about it.) We ordered some food, and the sliders I got were really filling! My friend got some onion rings... it was slightly deeper fried than I'm used to, but still really good. Overall, a good time was had by all and we left with round bellies and smiles. I'll have to go back there and review again on a crazier night. ;]

    (4)
  • Vanessa A.

Go there for happy hour when the beer is cheap. The happy hour sliders are super tasty and it's a relatively fun relaxed crowd (until you have to wait in line to use the restroom). Unless you are on a mission to drink a pitcher of mimosa, there's really no reason to wait in line to get brunch there though. I could have made a better brunch at home even if I were still wasted from the night before. Bland and crappy and you will probably be sober enough to realize how grimy it is in there. So yeah, stick to Linda's after the sun goes down and you're a little liquored up.

Came here on a whim with some coworkers. Absolutely fell in love with Linda's! it reminds me of the kind of bars we have in my hometown, where you just go and hangout without feeling the pressure to dress up. Good, strong well drinks and delicious french fries.

  • Ray Z.

I have heard that Dfens is still there, working off his tab from DYL. But with the wonderful Kerrie for moral support, how bad can that be? No sign of Linda, but local Yelp celebs Ian and Lindi and Matt and Michael and Michelle and Prema and Rachel and Riss and Ron were there. I'm supposed to be writing a wreview about the joint? Whoops. All I can remember is that they card everyone at the door (even old pharts like me). And that they have a wallfull of bright, sparkling liquids that make you happy.

Visiting from a city in which I can count on one hand how many places will actually serve you a pitcher of beer I was pleased as punch, or, ummmm, beer, to see that not only could we order a pitcher but that the selection included some local brews I had not tried before. All of this in a bar that reminds me of a few places I have stumbled into in Alaska, complete with a worn in lodgy feeling, lots of wood and taxidermy, because who doesn't love a few dead animals with their beer? There was not, however, any taxidermy with wood, just in case you were worried. The only problem was that I had already been drinking when I entered this place and there were just two of us to finish the big pitcher we ordered and the other of the two of us was already turning red and slowing down because he is Asian, and can't drink, and according to him being Asian is some sort of get out of jail free card that entitles him to dump all of the beer drinking responsibilities on me. Well, whatever. This place has people like me, with lightweight friends like him, covered because they serve all sorts of bar food, and if you start drinking at 4 like we did they have happy hour sliders that cost a dollar each so you can line your stomach to pick up the slack for your friend, who stereotypes his own people to get out of drinking his beer.

On a warm summer night the back deck is perfect. Little smoking area just sprouted up last week (right behind it) after the management got nailed (again) by Seattle's no-smoking-in-public-places law. Decent benches and great for 6-8 friends. Plus I heard the word "Re-donk-ulous" for the first time since I lived with Matt from U-dub in LA. I miss everything being redonkulous.

I am at Linda's every Sunday morning, and, if I'm not, chances are I'm wishing I were at Linda's. This is the best brunch experience in Seattle. Just enough grease in your food to feel like you're eating hearty, nothing is every over- or under-cooked, coffee is solid, and mimosas are a bargain. I've never had a bad waiter, though I do tend to prefer Ritchie over others as he always has a hilarious joke to share each weekend (trust me, ask him for the joke of the day). I also like Linda's for night-time drinks, but I tend to steer clear of the weekend nights.

Linda's on a 75+ degree seattle day is what Seattle is all about. There is something about waking up hung over and coming to Linda's in pajama bottoms, messy hair, and a sweatshirt, and then being seated outside on the sharpie covered lopsided picnic tables. It's love. The outside patio is great, and the service has always been right on point with refills/ the whole deal. Add on a bloody mary or two and you got yourself a deal. Their ommelettes might be the cure to any hangover and hold hands perfectly with a pitcher of mimosa. Need I ask for more? Oh and they have a smoking area which I give mad props and thanks to. Sure, Linda's seems hipsterish/sceney, but If you don't get over that, then you're missing out.

This is the best place to go for a hangover brunch: and really I can sum that up by mentioning two things: pitchers of mimosa's and the best gd bloody mary of my life. The End.

I am sad to say that I'm very disappointed in this place... It used to be my spot, I would be there all the time, but it has changed so much. The crew is so much different. The guests, the workers, it just has a different feel to it. I think too many good people are gone from there. Altho I have to say, there are quite a few of them left :) Brunch at Linda's today was a disaster. It was very busy, but it's not like it isn't every Sunday morning. Our food took an hour and a half to get to our table. Seriously, hour and a half. To quote someone "you can bake a cake and frost it in an hour and a half". I liked mine and so did the other people that ordered with me. A few of our friends joined us slightly later and ordered after the rest of us did. I believe their food took even longer. We were there forever! Btw, one of the orders was toast and a side of beans. Precooked beans they already have in the kitchen... The manager (or at least I think that's what his title is) saved the day by comping our last round of drinks and giving us some free buffalo jerky. But still. Gimme back my two stars, Linda's. Get your shi* together

I have three words to describe how delicious Linda's is for happy hour..."Slider, Slider, Slider." For three bucks you get three of the most deliciously magical little hamburgers. What is it that makes these burgers taste so good? I don't know how they do it, they just do, so don't question it, plop down your 3 bucks and have at it. They'll cushion the blow of the drinks you'll consume later that night, and they'll leave you with enough cash to consume a few more than usual. Yes, if I lived in Seattle, Linda's would get me for happy hour between 7 and 9 far more often than this gal needs to be consuming red meat. People are pretty here and usually come in football team-sized parties. For reals. Our little party of 3 was the odd-man-out dinky one that night. But it's cool, there's plenty of little booths for parties like ours, in amongst the bigger parties. Service was relatively attentive, although if you're a server, and your hands are free, and you're walking past our table where our empty pitcher is perched on the edge, it probably wouldn't take too much time to grab the pitcher, ask a quick "'nother?" and save a trip. Parking is a bit of a chore, so be prepared to drive around and around for awhile. But be patient. The sliders are way worth it.

The only times I've ever been to Linda's were on weekend nights from 1 am - 2 am. It's a great place if you're not looking for anything fancy--just a cheap pitcher before closing time.

Cool bar. Never had the food or will. Last time I was here I was pretty trashed, but I do remember it was Halloween and I was dressed as Che Guevera...AND I met Che at the bar, yup, Che. I went to pay my tab at the bar and some dude said he was Che and wanted to know if I was Fidel or Che. With the sporadic and ugly beard of course I was Che. Doode showed me his ID (although later I found out he probably wanted to show me something else). Yup, product of hippie parents named this child Che. He then gave me his Che wristband which was a queue for my friends to pull me away. Me has bad gaydar, I thinks peoples have the best intentions. Cool place, sticky tables, bartender was pretty rad by charging me phone and the music is always playing something between sublime and trash metal. I'm down.

Best hangover food. I've been here a few times for brunch on the weekends. There is usually a 15-20 minute wait depending on what time you get there. Usually packed around noon time when all the hungover people wake up hungry. The food is consistently good. The staff is funny and cool, yet not overly friendly. I like that it's hip and has great food and drinks! I can never decide on one thing so I usually order two items. I can't remember what I ordered last time. I think some eggs benedict or something and pancakes and some special omelette, but I have never been disappointed. I tried to go there for lunch on a weekday and they were closed and so I was sad... :(

Linda's is your typical tavern. It has a hunter lodge feel to it...kinda, which is weird, but that's Cap Hill for ya. Weird. Cheap drinks, awkwardly diverse clientele, and that's about what to expect.

Linda's knows how to treat you right. We stopped in for a Saturday breakfast/brunch and were not disappointed. This was my first eat in here and I spent a good minute or two taking in the sites while we waited to be seated. Like a lot of the older places in Seattle, Linda's was not short on ambiance and wood - lot's of wood. There's a huge bar and moose head to the right when you walk in, and then two offset levels of old style wooden booths and decidedly battered tables and chairs to fill out the space. There's a patio in back that you should utilize if it's at all nice out. Ambiance aside, which was tavern-y goodness, the food was pretty solid. The Alamo scramble was awesome served up with a mountain of sour cream and salsa on the side. The hash browns were tasty and bespoke a kitchen not afraid to use butter - mmmmm butter! My cohort had the eggs benedict and enjoyed it thoroughly, commenting that the hollandaise sauce was excellent. A caveat: my toast was burnt all around the edges. But oh my the drinks! We each got the special La Bamba - which was some mixture of tequila, cointreau and juices blended to heavenly perfection in a sugar rimmed glass. They know what they're doing behind that big wooden bar, and I like it.

I can't believe I haven't Yelped about Linda's yet. I just came from there, however, so now is as good a time as any. The first time I went to Linda's, I ordered a rum and diet and about died. It was SO strong. Since then I've learned my lesson and stick to beer - I can't speak for any of the other mixed drinks. They seem to have a decent beer selection from what I've seen, though. I love the fact that they have an outdoor section, although that place is FREEEEZING at night! Thank God for the heaters they have out there. Tonight I finally tried some of their food, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato, and my one complaint was that there only seemed to be about one tomato slice per half-sandwich, meaning that part of the time there was NO tomato when I bit into my sandwich and part of the time there was. It came with fries that were pretty good, plus a pickle! All for about $6, so not a bad deal. The big complaint? The service. Maybe it was because we were outside, maybe they were just unexpectedly busy, but we had to seek someone out to request a food menu, and then they took forever to ask for our order, and then forever to bring us the food. About halfway through our meal, my boyfriend requested another beer, which didn't come until well after we'd finished eating. They were quick getting the check to us, so who knows what was going on there. So hey, Linda's is a good place - so far not great, not amazing, but not bad, either. I'll be back, I'm sure.

I don't dislike Lindas at all but it's a bar I typically avoid. The drinks are good and the prices are totally reasonable but the bar is SO DAMN CROWDED! Plus, I swear I see the same people in there each time I go. Linda's whole scene kinda make my skin crawl. I get the feeling when I walk in that everyone's looking at me thinking they're so cool. It's like a stare down and then you can't find a seat. Awkward! You end up being shuffled outside because it's the only place there's any room to stand without being bumped into contstantly. I don't really love standing in the smoking area but that's all there is when you don't get there before 8pm to snag a table or a booth. Another no-no is the bathroom situation. Plan WAY ahead because there's only one bathroom per sex and there's always a line. All in all it's not a terrible bar but I feel like it's the hip bar to go to the minute you turn 21. OH!! Their brunch is tasty though! :)

Linda's is pretty cool I like the atmosphere because it's dark basically. Okay really though, if you need a fairly neutral venue to kick off your night, Linda's is it. Right in the middle of Capitol Hill and full of locals. They play good music and the drinks are fairly priced. Be sure to check out LindasFest! Great punk shows in the summer. Pretty sure it was a better alternative to block party this year. They're porch is KILLER! It gets a little packed with bros earlier in the evening. But if you hold out till later and start your night outside, you'll feel right at home. I like to try and grab a table and build from there. It's great for groups and late ninth shenanigans. I'd feel completely comfortable suggesting a work happy hour here too : )

The food: Yummy and plenty of it. I had no complaints about food. It wasn't anything I'd brag about, but filling and good. My issue was the speed of service. SUPER slow. I mean it was a sunday afternoon, so we weren't in any rush but it took ages to get our food and any refills on drinks. The staff were really nice and all just really inattentive.

I am being completely honest when I say I was a little intoxicated by the time I got to this bar. However!!! I absolutely remember how awesome it was. It's a little divey and the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for this area. I think a shot of tequila and a PBR cost me 8 bucks. It has a beautiful outdoor seating area that kind of surprised me. I stepped outside and was shocked at the space they had! Our server (even though it was super busy) was quick and always there for anything I could have possibly needed. The bartender was kind of mean- maybe because we asked to split a tab for some shots and he blatantly refused. Besides that, I'll be back fasho.

A place with personality and a backyard. Perfect for winding down with friends to discuss the night's (or day's) highlights of debauchery and misgivings. It's very grunge but what else do you want at 1am when you've got picnic tables, Christmas lights, Big Buck, and a jukebox. Kitchen will be closed so don't be expecting food, that's across the street at Hot Mamas pizza by the slice.

I was bar hopping around with a friend and this was on the docket to stop by and grab a few drinks and some food. Wasnt crowded at all when we went, super chill inside, plenty of tables to sit at, booths to sit with your friends, a few high top tables near the video games is where we chilled out at. Had to get up on Ms. Pacman and Ninja Turtles game too.....if I recall correctly, it was only .25 cents to play too. Awesome that it was during Happy Hour time, I think it runs from 3-7pm.....they have a little menu for some delicious looking bar food treats. We decided to get the nachos and the happy meal. Nachos were delicious, perfect amount to share with a friend, and super cheesy.....they put a good amount of melty cheese on it. Happy Meal was a cheeseburger with fries.....pretty good as well. Definitely enjoyed the food. A few beers to wash it down and we were good to go. Bartender was friendly, the servers were friendly brining out the food, checking on more drinks and clearing any items off the table. For me, its a good divey spot to meet up and grab a few cold ones.

Patio? Check Good drinks? Check Batter than okay bar food? Check In case you're unaware, people in Seattle LOVE patios. Often happy hour meet ups or Saturday brunch is picked solely by where there's a patio. Luckily Linda's has a patio, and a great vibe. Linda's is the perfect place to pop in for brunch on the weekend, grab a drink after work, or eat classic bar food with good friends and play pool. There's no frills to Linda's, and the women's bathroom mysteriously has two sinks, and only one bathroom stall. Why are there two sinks and only one toilet? I don't really know, and it really doesn't matter because Linda's is AWESOME!

Hands down, best bar in Capitol Hill. I come here atleast once a week and down to the door guy everyone is awesome. The host Ingrid is great and attentive everytime, she even gets our drink orders going ASAP! Best michelada's I've ever had are always made by Leonie and Christy! Sweetest and cutest girls behind the bar! Whether it's brunch or late night your bound to have a great time and great food at Linda's!

Tried the special and I'm normally not a pancake person but I loved the strawberry pancakes! The pieces of strawberries in the actual pancake made them sweet already so I barely needed syrup. Did not love the service. Maybe it's too dark and no one could see we needed help? Either way, the food was decent and Linda's is so close by we'll probably be back to enjoy the outdoor patio someday soon! Also tried the huevos rancheros and added avocado! Eggs were nice and runny, and the overall dish was okay.. Too much beans for me but still delicious because eggs are life.

Pitcher of mimosas...check Cheap and great tasting breakfast food...check Divey and casual atmosphere...check Everything about Linda's is pretty awesome. Huevos Rancheros with chorizo FTW. Man it was good. Plus, their hash browns are super crisply just how I like em. Pretty much all the breakfast meals were under $10 which is awesome. Also, a pitcher of mimosas will set you back $20 but is more than enough for 2-3 people. Staff is great. Definitely a good hangover place. I haven't been for lunch or dinner but I shall return!

Perfect dive bar. I had heard this was the last bar Kurt Cobain was seen in alive and I wanted to check it out. They have a divey atmosphere and some pretty cheap drinks. I tried a Manhattan here and it wasn't my favorite but it would be worth ordering again. I've become a bit of a cocktail snob since I've been in Seattle and there are great options for cocktails nearby. This place has a really great atmosphere and I will definitely be back here again to kick off a night.

I feel like Linda's is not a place any grown adult person would want to hang out at after a certain hour of the day, particularly on the weekends, and so I don't. This review is based on the times of day I DO hang out there, which is weekend brunch-time, and weekday happy hour-time. If you are a grown adult person read on. If you are a little baby read on. Linda's is for everybody. The servers at Linda's are human beings, with different temperaments, and personalities. Some of them are very engaging and warm, some of them are all business, but it takes all sorts, and each of them has been nothing short of attentive and accommodating every time I've been in, and I've been in a lot. The patio still manages to feel like a special, secret club house, even with the new condo looming oppressively above it. Bring your binoculars and let's let staring into rich people's homes, once they move in there, become a new, favorite pastime! Don't bring crayons, or markers, or those little plastic water color trays because I don't think we're allowed to actually fill in the paint-by-numbers mural on the patio wall, and why tempt ourselves? The food at Linda's is standard bar fare, but the chicken fried steak they serve for breakfast is special and delicious. They cook a pretty perfect tater tot. For some reason their pitchers of Olympia Beer taste crisp, and refreshing, and delicious in a way not typical of cheap beer from the tap. They'll also serve you a whole pitcher of mimosas at breakfast if you're getting your weekend day-drinking on, because they know how to have a good time. Maybe most importantly Linda's feels like a Capitol Hill institution, and as places like that increasingly give up the ghost I think it's important to support the ones that manage to hang on. Damn the man. Eat at Linda's.

I like Linda's. I really do enjoy the staff and ambiance when it's off hours but this place gets so crowded, loud and people get rude the more busy it gets. I get that a busy bar is a good bar often but it's so full you can't get anywhere, the bathrooms are always hard to get into (walking through the bar to waiting for a free space). So if you are up for a crowded, loud bar with decent burgers and fries this is a good stop. But if you want a place to hang with your friends there are much better options where there are lots of people and great setting without feeling like you're in a mosh pit.

An awesome dive bar in a nice area. I came here with a friend looking for a bar with microbrews and cheap beer. We had some local pints for $4 each and hung out for a few hours. There was nothing crazy about the bar but seemed like a local joint. They had great specials and although we didn't have any food so i cant comment on that, but a great dive bar for drinks for sure.

I had breakfast on the patio on Saturday with friends. It's a great dive bar with good food. I had the French toast and we shared a pitcher of mimosas. It was exactly what I needed after a fun Friday night. Crystal was our waitress and she was awesome! I'll be back to try the Bloody Mary.

I think I'm confused by what the kids call 'dive bar' these days. This isn't a dive bar. This is a very solid bar.., bar. Great vibe, friendly staff, cheap prices, and a good selection of local booze. If you like bars, as in what a bar should really be, you'll have a great night here. Why not 5 stars? I don't think real bars would want 5 stars. Keeps the after work suits out.

Hipster, my ass. This is where the college kids go when they want to dress up and get sloshed. I wonder since when hipster meant waiting in six person deep line for the bathroom. And getting kicked out of the men's bathroom for being a girl? Ladies gotta take care of their bodily functions. Maybe I got used to all of the real hipster bathrooms in Victoria, where they have gender neutral water closets. Back to the real world in "my" culture. Drinks are stiff and tasty. I could only handle one. It gets really busy in here, half seated and half standing. There is a gently lit outdoor patio, kinda magical, and another area sectioned off with particle board for smoking. Breakfast is like bar food, because hellooooooo it's a bar, but hey everyone is sitting at this point and not in taking diuretics so at least you don't have to wait in line for the loo.

I come here often! I wish it was bigger! If you're arriving after 9pm on a weekend, I wouldn't come if you hope to sit, but we usually just try to arrive a little earlier and we can get a table. It's best in the summer since they also have the outside area. I really love that they have waiter service which comes to the tables. They have always been pretty attentive (for a bar) which I really appreciate. The food definitely isn't anything to write home about, but it's bar food! It is acceptable. Overall good place.

My experience at Linda's seems to be dependent on the staff. It's a hipster bar in Seattle so of course they're going to be aloof, which is fine. But sometimes when I come here it seems almost impossible to get service. Why it's hard for me to give them my money for doing their job it beyond me, but you can get away with that attitude in this place I guess. Some of the staff is nice though. And they have a really lovely patio in the back. I was just there this past weekend for Pride and they had a drag show that was super fun, I'm so glad I was there for it!

Worst service I have seen in Seattle. We ordered breakfast on a Sunday at noon when only about half of the restaurant was occupied. It took -literally- an hour to get our food. The server was exccedingly non-apologetic and very rude and short with us. Seriously? Get your shit together.

Back in my more robust days, the days of week long drinking benders, Lindas used to be my bar. Unfortunately this place has pretty much gone tits up. Almost overnight the place became overran by frat guys. Of course there are the hipsters, but that's no surprise, since you can practically see that from space. The overall effect it that you feel like you're in the middle of a brawl between the "sharks" and "jets". And everybody on yelp is right when they suggest you had better not be a normal person, or else you're gunna feel completely out of place. Some primary complaints are as follows: If you want to get a seat, inside or out, summer or winter (and if you don't want to fellate a gaggle of hipsters) you're going to have to get there no later then 8:00 PM. Otherwise you're likely to be standing around with 15 lb's of beer running down your wrist and elbow for 45 minutes until somebody finally leaves. God forbid you have to go to the bathroom (this is where the sorority types chime in) Because this is when you realize the world is truly a shit hole. You'll stand in line rolling your eyes for close to 15 minutes, despite the fact that the line to the bathroom is composed of two other people. You will likely exchange some words about the current idiot in there who has already taken 6 minutes in there, and promising each other that you will hurry. By the time your predecessor is in the bathroom, you have all but exchanged pinky-swares and friendship bracelets. Fuckedly, she will exceed the time of the previous bathroom tenant by double! This is worth mentioning because like clockwork it happens EVERY time I'm there! Ordering drinks at the bar is only slightly more of an ordeal then it is at any other bar. and in this case it seems like no fault of the staff, rather the frat guys who use the bar as a stage to exhibit their newly discovered make-out skills with their makeup slathered girlfriends instead of ordering drinks! (take it back to the futon kids!) Finally... What's the deal with last call being at like 12:30? .... And everyone being completely hustled out by 1:13? No kidding its like "the brute squad" on Princess Bride.

I really could care less about the scene of this place or its atmosphere. I'm so fing hungover when I come in here, it really doesn't matter. Weekend brunch is what brings me in, more specifically, their bloody mary. I'm not really sure which sides I prefer in my bloody mary: sometimes I really enjoy gnawing on the celery, but then again, I love me some pickled beans. And generally, it's one or the other. Their version comes with with both. Plus a peperoncini and several olives. It's a revelation. Their food is definitely worth mentioning as well. It's priced under the norm and yet, my omelette wasn't lacking in either portion or taste. And for the times I'm not hungover, (their brunch is only offered on the weekend, cut me some slack) they offer a pitcher of mimosas for $15. Something the whole table can enjoy.

I haven't had the food yet, but I've been there twice now. i had a couple of Guinness the first time at the bar. the 2nd time i went with a couple of co-workers and we sat in the patio in the back. it was a clear, sunny day and it was so awesome back there. at first i was reluctant to write about it for fear of having everyone find out, but i think everyone knows already. i had a couple of hef's. back there in the patio on a nice day with a cold beer and friends life is just better.

If you like your waiter with an extra dose of attitude and for them to ignore you if you're not one of their friends or wearing skinny jeans, go to Linda's. There's a blonde girl who is basically surly and seems pissed off half the time. This week a different server ignored us for like 25 minutes. I had a empty beer and was waiting to order another. At one point he came to each of the tables next to us and asked if they needed anything, but then ignored us. (yes, I could have flagged him down but I was busy talking to my friend, plus I expected he was going to stop at our table after each of the other ones). Then for the last 15 min or so he was standing at the bar chatting with a friend who had come in. Finally we gave up and left. I actually like the food, it's pretty good for a dive bar. And the happy hour is great because it's 7-9pm. So my advice is sit at the bar if there's room, otherwise sit at a table and order from the bar (which might piss off your server, but that's okay because they probably already were pissed off ;)).

Best. Bloody. Marys. Around. Come here if you need to do some drinking at brunch. Beyond the bloody marys and the pitchers of mimosas, Linda's is just okay. Food is okay, the patio is crowded if there is a glimmer of sunlight, its hard to get a place to sit after 6pm. It gets loud. The bathrooms are usually pretty gross. It caters to a younger drinking crowd, which fluctuates between fun and obnoxious. Happy hour is at the ever accommodating 7-9pm, and drink prices are reasonable.

Cool little dive bar. The drinks are decently priced. They've got an awesome back patio with an outside bar. Great for warm nights, or even cold nights because they have heat lamps! But if you aren't into the hipster scene, than this might not be the place for you.

Not the first to yelp... Won't be the last... Used to be a regular... Now it' s in the past... Oh Linda's we have memories... Some good some bad... You're still the queen of the hill... All the hipsters, don't get mad... SHUT UP AND ENJOY YOUR DRINK....and don't forget to tip your bartender...

I finally got to the outdoor area. It adds an extra layer of awesome to the place. If you want to go out there, don't worry about ordering inside, they've got a bar out back! Got to enjoy this Seattle summer while we still can, people! Oh, and the waitresses really need to learn to say "Excuse me" while walking through the crowd! (That's an inside joke that will be gotten by about two or three people tops. I'm such a bastard)

Your typical hangout type bar. All varieties of hipsters bouncing around. I have always a good experience here. Sometimes a little too packed but being under 30 I am still used to those types of places on a reg. Great patio to kick it on a summer evening, knock back a few cold ones, eat a slider, and hang. To me the music has always been a little hit and miss, usually depends on the bartender of the night. Hint: Sometimes it's quicker and easier to hit up the bar then to get a waitress. Good happy hour specials, drink and food.

I'm intrigued by Linda's. I can with utmost honesty say I would never have ventured here on my own, but Miss Emily had a Birthday and this was the location of celebration. When we got here it was jam-packed, but luckily the group had already secured their (3rd?) table for the evening, which we eventually moved one more time. Other patrons were none too pleased with our need for a larger table and incessant hogging of chairs, but they can piss off ;) Decor is interesting to say the least. As others have stated, it's like a hunting lodge in the middle of the city, very peculiar. Our waitress, although busy, did a good job keeping our drinks coming. I wish I knew her name so I could throw out some "mad props" but I never caught her name. Several times she forgot one or two of our drinks, but would remember and get them back to us as quickly as she could. When my roommate spilled his drink (only his second of the evening, he's just a klutz) she supplied him with a complimentary one. I honestly don't think we were charged for all of our drinks, because our tab was really cheap, but no complaints about that. Linda's boosts a full bar, a decent beer selection, pool, sort of icky bathrooms, cool staff who never appeared frazzled or overwhelmed, and kicky patrons. Apparently they draw quite an diverse crowd and Friday showed that. It's hard to convince the roommate to go anywhere except the one bar he frequents in the city, but it's safe to say we'll be back time and again, he loved Linda's.

Linda's has a pretty laid back atmosphere. I suppose it does tend to attract the "too cool for school" type crowd but for the most part I like the atmosphere and the people. It gets crowded during happy hour and on the weekends but rarely feels truly cramped. The back patio is awesome during the summer and even when the weather is colder they do have heaters out there (most of which work) so that helps when it gets too crowded inside. The staff are all nice and do their jobs well. Their prices are decent and the food is pretty good though I rarely eat here. Their happy hour is 7-9 which is a nice bonus for someone like me who gets off work a little late sometimes. There isn't anything particularly special about this place but maybe that's why I like it so much. It's easy to meet friends here and just hang out and have fun.

This place does remind me of Idaho, a little. There are the various stuffed animal heads and lots of wood decor, but where are the hicks? Oh yes, they have been replaced by hipsters. I don't know which I prefer. I was here for a going away party of sorts with my GF who seemed to know everyone. I'm still fairly new to the Yelp scene, so I was a little out of my element but I still had a good time chatting it up with my fellow yelpers. I got to know a couple of them better and had some good conversation. This place is kind of small but they have an outside area in the back with a bar and smoking area, for that I had to add another star! They even had Fat Tire on Tap, my favorite, but I switched it up and had a couple of Manny's. This place must be quite popular as it was packed and a little hard to move around in but we managed. I've heard good things about the brunch here and my GF has assured me that we will be back so I can try it out. She also mentioned something about Mimosas by the pitcher!

There is nothing really in particular wrong with Linda's, I have just never been a fan. The food is okay, and so is the patio, and I go every now and then just because. I will just never love it here for some reason.

Hipster hipster hipster. One of the nastiest mens bathrooms in Seattle that I know of. Great out door drinking environment. If you are a girl and don't give a fuck what your boyfriend or future boyfriend looks like. And if you are a girl that doesn't care if your boyfriend has the most disgusting facial hair he can muster up. Than this place is for you as a woman. If you are a disgusting hipster guy with a beer belly and some goodwill pants that some how is capable of hooking up with some of Seattle's flyest bizzzzatches than this place is definately for you. I dont get it but the place works... Extremely well.

Great atmosphere! I also like the large outside area. I would probably change a few of the beers on tap, but they do have a decent selection. I've had some great times here, but I do wish they would tell the old guy with the duct-taped pool cue to back off...

You can get your beer colder elsewhere. You can find friendlier bartenders & waitstaff elsewhere. There are cleaner toilets, more appealing decorations, and better food elsewhere too. What Linda's has that 'elsewhere' doesn't is a good combination of all of these factors, solid breakfasts, and a backyard beer garden that's perfect on those warm summer weeknights when you'll just melt if you can't get a beer and see her face smiling across a table from you in the moonlight...

Yeah!! Love Linda's, great bar food and awesome bartenders. The Jukebox is always pack full of sweet jams and brunch is amazing. The back patio during summer is super sweet too!

Surprisingly large place. When I was there it was deader than a doornail, but what isn't in Seattle on a weekday. Looked like it could be fun enough on a busier night.

My husband really dug this place on our recent trip to the Pac NW. I was a bit more torn. As more than one person has said, for a woodsy, lodge-style bar complete with a mounted buffalo head above the bar, this place draws a rather too cool for school crowd. Very young, lots of tight jeans, guys with too much facial hair, girls with scarves...that said, I enjoyed the punk hipster music that was played, none of which I recognized, because I'm not too cool for school. The music was played from a hipster jukebox, fyi. They serve food, but we had already eaten at Chez Gaudy, down the street and around the corner in Capital Hill also. We came for the atmosphere and the beers. I have to give it to the boy-hair cut blond female bartender that was there when we came--she handled a d-bag guy from Vermont who claimed to know beer who poo-pooed IPAs (my favorite type of beer) and she convinced him to try the Firestone IPA (which he later thanked her for in a d-bag sort of way). The bartender was definitely too cool for school as well (wearing a scarf, tight jeans, lip ring too), but she knew her beer. After dealing with the d-bag, my husband and I talked to her about our 2nd round of beers. Our first had been delivered by a nice girl, who had much less beer knowledge. The blond pointed out that the "IPA" I had been served first was not a true IPA. I asked about the Firestone IPA served to the d-bag and she definitely thought I would like it and let me know that the same brewery makes a double IPA that's even better. She was right! Next to the Ninkasi IPA (from Eugene, OR) that I tried for the first time in Portland, OR, Firestone IPA the best IPA I've had in a long while. I don't think I could be a regular at Linda's and I wouldn't really want to see what the vibe is at 1 or 2am, but for after dinner beers from a knowledgeable staff, Linda's was worth the walk. Plus, buffalo are my favorite animal. I will say, as a woman I hate their bathroom situation. I dunno if there were other bathrooms on the outdoor patio, but there's only one inside. I definitely walked in and the guy (yes, I like my single sex bathrooms) who was in there before me, had left the lid up with sprinkles left around. I don't get how a place like Linda's gets away with only one bathroom. In Chicago we have codes for how many bathrooms per capacity of the whole place (not that every place has a great ratio, but generally, if it's a big place, there's more than one! And they're usually single sex). I almost forgot! One more good thing. We got the beers at happy hour prices!!! Chicago doesn't allow happy hour specials, something about causing too much drunk driving, so that was a welcome treat! Cheap and delicious beers!!!

I used to live in Seattle back in the early 00 and recently came back for a week to visit. Linda's was as good then as it is now. Great for drinking at whatever time you'd like to. And awesome breakfast sliders. Nuff Said.

Lindas has character, a decent beer variety, and okay food. I probably wouldn't go there other than for a round of beers on a late evening with a group of friends. Other things I like include the nice outdoor seating area, and very good service.

Want an inviting, fun place to hang out with friends? Try Capitol Hill's Linda's outside patio. Great casual, open, somewhat bohemian/grunge atmosphere. Good pub grub. Friendly staff. I've argued many world current events with good friends here.

Nice scene, ok food, pretty terrible service experience - only one server in particular really screwed my party over. Unfortunately, Linda's Tavern probably had the worst service I have received in Seattle. We were meeting up with friends on the patio and our server had to be reminded that us three (who arrived just a tiny bit later than the rest of our party) indeed ordered food. Actually, I had to order food twice as she didn't get my order the first time even though she directly asked me what I wanted to order. We actually had another server/bus boy come over to make sure we had drinks (because our original server didn't care or wasn't available). We had to wait 45 mins for our food while our friends who arrived a little earlier were finishing eating their orders. Got my first beer, thought that I ordered my 2nd since I actually voiced to my server what I wanted, said please and thank you, but lo and behold, the beer never arrived at my table. Myself and someone else in my party was able to track down the server to merely ask about a refill on beer when I get interjected by the server while she said "I know the food wait is long, we're really busy and it will be out soon" and she left before I even got to ask let alone finish"Can I get a refill on X beer?". Less than 10 seconds of interaction and she just ran off. I am not demanding by any means, I just want to have my order taken when the server comes back to the table (she was taking everyone else's beer orders, but not mine). To make matters worse, there was zero apology from the server for our complete lack of service. However, the rest of our party was rewarded for free beer tabs since random beers/drinks were given to our table (on the house), but yet not the ones that were ordered from the later party. Thanks, Linda's. I really like paying for really bad service, waiting 45 mins for easy food, and also not getting an apology (or meal comped, but I'm ok with paying for my food, tbh) while the people who actually got service, got their refills, were checked up on (who were in my party at the same table!) got comped for no reason. P.S. - it wasn't just me, I had 2 other people in my party arrive at the same time as me and they both had the same experience as I did.

Linda's is my favorite bar on Capitol Hill, mainly for its laid-back and chill atmosphere -- a quintessential Seattle bar. The staff are friendly, so long as you don't walk into this place expecting a martini. Instead, order one of their craft beers on tap or an Oly. At Linda's you come as you are. No haters at this joint.

Linda's is a great spot to hang out with a group of friends. Their excellent happy hour runs from 7-9, and is the ideal destination if you're happy hour hopping--most late night happy hours begin at 9. Their tap selection is bound to please everyone in the party, with local favourites like Manny's always available. It hits that sweet spot between easily accessible and reasonably priced...which is probably why it's so popular on weekends. Definitely a weeknight place in my books.

I'm not a fan of restaurants or bars that are so loud that you have to literally yell/scream for the person in front of you at the table to hear you, and that's what has happened both times I've gone to Linda's. this place gets PACKED! Their drinks are strong and service is nice, so I'm glad their business is booming. but even without it being filled to max capacity, the music is played so loud that it's impossible to have a conversation with anyone. Not personally for me, but if you want a really loud, buzzy bar, it might be the place for you!

  • Stephanie K.

Linda's is okay... Usually not my first choice due to the so-so drinks and how busy it can get. I did just have the weakest margarita I've ever had in my life here yesterday, and it really just makes me never want to go back. It was an insult to margaritas everywhere. I hear their breakfast is good, but I doubt that I'll ever find out.

Really really fun and simple dive bar. Badass outside patio with a separate smoking section. (I'm a former smoker so I thought this is great for smokers) The employees are really cool and easy to talk to. It's just a fun place to go to and kick back with a beer! :) Also, I'm pretty sure it's one of the longest running dive bars in Seattle!! That just goes to show how many people actually support locally owned businesses!! Highly recommend for Dive bars :)

My favorite Sunday brunch. No, it's not the place to go for a big group or to bring your grandmother, but it's perfect for just a couple of friends. I have a lot of thoughts about Linda's, so I'll sum it up in a list: PROS: -Perfect greasy spoon style breakfast food. My favorite is the Alamo scramble- a chorizo and jack cheese scramble with crispy hash browns. -Dog friendly -Plays entertaining music. Sometimes 70s rock, sometimes pop music from 1999, but always a conversation piece -Cheap food and drinks -Large outside patio and outside bar for nice weather CONS: - Brunch can be over an hour wait, and I am never confident that the hostess has it all under control -Spotty service- some days we luck out and get a good server, but sometimes it's pretty bad. Food waits are long on busy days -Really strong drinks at night (and suuuuper crowded). Some people may like this, but I don't like not being able to sip at my drink without grimacing. -Sometimes the music is weirdly loud In summary, I love it, but know some people (like my poor fiance who sometimes gets dragged in to the hour long wait) who just don't "get it". Their loss!

I love this bar! It's a dive (I came here once in the afternoon and it smelled like the Canal St subway station in NY... ahhh happy memories of the Big Apple!), but it's legit. I came back last night and the smell seemed to have gone away. The bartenders are super cool and I have to agree with Vas that the back patio is pretty awesome. It's spacious, not overly crowded (okay, it was a Wednesday night, I'm kind of a lush, I get it) and was just great for chillaxing with friends on a summer night. Drinks are cheap! We had 2 beer and 4 double G&Ts, and my total bill came to $35! Mind = blown! They have the hell or high watermelon beer on tap (yay! Perfect summer beer! It tastes like watermelon juice). The crowd is also cool... they actually lined up at the bar to place their orders and close out their tabs. I'm so used to clamoring at the bar for the bartender's attention, so I just parked my ass at one of the bar stools to re-order and one of the patrons gently told me (after I got my drinks) that I had just cut in line (sorry, guys!). There's also a pool table (although the table is kind of old, but what do you expect for 50 cents?). I like to pretend that I can play pool here while sipping on my girly beer. Also, cool factoid: Kurt Cobain was supposedly last seen alive at one of the booths here by the pool table.

Never disappointed at Linda's. Great vibe to hang out with friends and the food is always pretty good. THey also have a great happy hour. But, this place has officially become one of my favorite brunch spots because of their cowboy bloody mary. 1. It's a deliciously made bloody mary 2. it comes with beef jerky. If it's nice out make sure to ask for a seat on the patio!

We were greeted at the bar quickly after sitting down even though it was busy. Drinks came right up. Even after brewing for several minutes once the tab was closed, the bartender checked back with us. That's customer service! Because hey, even though we didn't want to buy more drinks after closing the tab, sometimes you need to buy another after calling your own last call! Music was too loud, but that's no reason to take away a star. Linda's is known to be pretty loud.

Aw, such good times here. Being out-of-towners on my bachelorette party, this was an unexpected stop at the end of a Saturday night, after partying at a club beforehand. Yeah, we had a solid buzz going already, but I'm so glad we decided to end our night here. From the doorway, this looked like a dark little dive (and it is) but so much more than that. We hung out on the patio with a mixed crowd - students, hipsters, hippies, techies, a little bit of everyone. It was a good crowd. The bartenders on the patio were awesome and we didn't have to scramble just to get a table and chairs - added bonus. I would come back here for the nostalgia of reliving the last night of my bachelorette party, or really if I ever dip into town again. Hugs to Linda's!

Bottom line: much better food and service at other places. The atmosphere at Linda's is the classic Capitol Hill vibe and I hope they can improve their service and food in order to stick around. Four of us had bunch at Linda's on a Saturday and although the place wasn't packed (there were empty tables) the service was very slow. We probably waited half an hour for food. When the food did come we were disappointed in the quality and portions. Two plates were supposed to be scrambled eggs with cheese, tortilla strips, peppers and avocado. But there were only two slivers of avocado sliced on top a meager pile of eggs with little flavor. Our plates included two partial slices of toast but our waitress didn't bring jam until we were able to catch her after we had finished everything else and ask her for jam. Our water glasses were also never refilled during the entire time we were there.

Finally - Great food, price, service, and vibe!!! Linda's has this simple premise on lock... while the majority of the restaurants around the neighborhood struggle with the concept. Went to Sunday brunch per recommendation and we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and generous at a reasonable price. Rio Grande Scramble was perfect. But more impressive was the service; we sat and ate at the bar, where the Bartender was attentive, courteous, well mannered, and extremely polite... the man did his job so well that - for me, it stood out more than the food. Thanks Linda's crew for a truly great start to my morning!

Ate here after being recommended to do so on the Stalking Seattle Tour (last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive). Good food, good juke box (was funny - put some songs on and went to walk away - first song I paid for BLASTED out of it - made everyone jump - they turned the volume down after that). Service was a little slow, but not too bad at all. In a cool neighborhood too. Worth a visit.

Yes, Linda's is a dive bar. But Linda's the BEST dive bar. Its huge, has a patio, and has happy hour from 7-9 everyday. Their food menu is pretty tasty and they serve up all the bar food classics like wings, fries, and burgers and also have some delicious southwest style plates. I have been here when the service is absolutely incredible and there have been times where its just been so-so. It never takes away from the experience of Linda's. Linda's is always a great time and an institution. Love you long time!

Let's think of a word.... BITCHY. eveyrone heere is bitchy. the bartenders? bitchy. I can not stand hipsters. I am tired of seattle being full of hipsters and this is the last straw. This place is classic. The patio is perfect. A moment from the evening: I tossed a miniature action figure into my friends nearly-empty beer, then the waiter came by and scooped up the glass. I blurted/shouted "WAIT WAIT WAIT, our action figure is in there!" Waited apologized, delicately handed back the glass, and didn't even laugh at me, at least not to my face. I appreciate that.

The outdoor biergarten is why people come. At least that's why I'd come. Why stay indoors? The vibe here is, of course, hipster. We're on CapHill for goodness sake. This is a great place to just walk around and explore. Stand outside and have your beer in peace. It's a cool space. The HH is every day until 9pm. $14 for a pitcher. The funniest part is there are no smoking signs all along the wooden walls in the biergarten. Haha -- given that the whole place is made out of wood let's hope people do indeed heed that posting.

I dropped into Linda's to meet an old college mate I hadn't seen in 12 years...to enjoy a good juke...and local brews...and a biergarten vibe on a summer evening... and Linda's provided all of the above... I was staying at the Grand Hyatt in the hotel district.. but this district is a short but invigorating uphill jaunt from downtown.. I enjoyed the evening sky...and the slow melting into a alternative kind of space... the neighborhood had some cool book stores...and second hand furniture spaces...and restaurants and cafes.. many spots I would remind myself to check out next time I'm in Seattle.. Inside Linda's.. there was space in the biergarten.. the service was friendly and casual...and the beers were cool and refreshing and the energy in the space was warm... laughter.. tunes... nice mix of peeps.... the time went by fast.... which is a good thing when you're in a bar/beirgarten. I'd say.. Check out Linda's....

Hmm. Hmmm I say. 3.5 stars rounded up for the nice bartender and happy hour prices. I enjoy myself here -- even though it is stupidly packed with a fairly particular crowd *cough* hipsters *cough* , covered in dead animals, and sort of loud. But you know what? The hipsters were nice, bathrooms are clean, pool table for fun, the taplist has a couple stars and is otherwise decent, the drinks are strong (and hot damn -- CHEAP during happy hour), and they got that great back patio that is fabulous to hang out on...even on chilly February nights...as long as those lamps are lit, and not by drunk patrons holding their lighters next to the gas tanks...eek

Linda's pt. 3, apparently. But opinions evolve as you learn when to go somewhere and when to avoid it, what to order, how attractive the servers are... Anyway, after the Grilled Cheese Incident I stopped trying to come here for brunch. No point dealing with harried, pissy waittresses and people filming their thrift store shoes on Super 8. I also make it a point to not come on Fridays or weekends, because I don't like having to stand around by the pool table. What I DID start doing is coming decently early, say 6:30 or 7, on weeknights. And ordering hot toddies, Fireball hot toddies, and some sort of hot apple thing from the very nice and very nice looking young man who seems to be serving every time I'm there. He's also enthusiastic about hot drinks so how can it be anything but a pleasant time? Linda's, you're upgraded. But don't get complacent.

Okay, for my 100th review I am going to go back to one of the originals. Beside some of their normal good food, still think they have the best sliders in town we have been going for brunch there and will keep coming back for it. Their chicken fried steak and their breakfast tacos are very good along with the bloody Marys and Mimosa (By the pitcher if you want it) makes for a very good brunch. I keep trying different things and they are all good, but I do keep going back to the chicken fried steak, which is actually a steak. Everything is good at Linda's including the service both at tables and the bar.

I came here for the Yelp Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Luckily Riss had a sweater for me, so I didn't feel left out. The irony of the sweater made me feel more hipster. I think being a hipster is a requirement, but then again it is the Hill. They have Happy Hour from 7-9 pm. Which is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Sure, I rarely go to Seattle during the week, but if I did, I would definitely stop in here. Cheap beer and cheap food is always ok by me. I just had a Manny's, because the waitress didn't really seem to know the beer selection, and I couldn't be bothered to get up off my ass and walk to the bar to see the 12 taps myself. They have lots of $5 food specials too. I went with the chicken strips and fries, and for $5 it was a good amount of food and pretty good. They also have sliders which were apparently good, and a Happy Meal. The toy sucks, but $5 for a cheeseburger and fries is worth it. They also apparently have good deals on pitchers of beer. The server did an awesome job of getting all of our food and drink orders and keeping all of our bills straight and getting everyone separate checks, which is impressive since people were coming and going over a 3 hour period. Overall, a decent place to meet up with friends and make an ass of yourself and enjoy some cheap drinks and food on the Hill.

Disappointing that their variety of burgers is now thinned down to just a couple. There was a lot more to choose a couple of years ago. However, its price is pretty consistent being cheap and meat is cooked well as ordered. It's a lot busy and not so spacious. I'd walk by first to see how crowded it is before going in. They have lots of beers and drinks to sip on. Staff is quite friendly and helpful.

The outdoor area is fantastic, very Seattle. Got the mac and cheese and shared, which was solid- I was exceptionally impressed by the fresh veggies they serve with it (green beens and brocoli, perfectly cooked and delicious). Then the happy hour menu is really cute- especially the "happy meal" - a small burger and small serving of fries for only $6. White wine menu was limited- I would like to see a Pinot Gris added, I had one choice- chardonnay. The back outdoor area was packed (perfect Seattle day) and yes, I saw my fair share of hipsters but it really was a great variety. Patios like this are hard to come by! Love.

Hit this place for breakfast on Sunday, havent been there in about 4 years. Nothing really to complain about, food wasn't bad, service was good - but I guess the reason I give it 3 stars is the same reason I haven't been there in 4 years, it's just good. If you try Linda's for breakfast, you probably won't be disappointed, but you probably won't remember it too much either.

My lovely former coworkers and some old college friends met up here last night and I was warned in advance that this place was a true dive bar. Perfect for our purposes, my friends arrived early and managed to snag the best big booth table in the joint. I love how unpretentious this place feels and everyone there is truly there just to have a good time. The crowd was an unusual mix...mostly the artsy/hipster Capital Hill-types but everyone was friendly enough and tolerated our less-artsy demeanor. So I wish I could rate this place higher but the service was really slow and not super friendly. The place was packed on a Saturday night and it's got to be a challenging place to keep on top of things...but we kept having to flag the server down all night which was annoying. The apple martini was good but the gimlet...not so much a fan. I guess normally they're sweeter but this one was so bitter, it was difficult to drink. But I can't complain since I didn't buy either...:) We ordered some fries, too, and they were good for bar fries. They didn't have enough salt but nothing we couldn't change. All in all, a fun place - get here early if you want to get a good seat. Oh, and there's only one bathroom and there wasn't any TP all night...and the bathroom door doesn't lock so beware.

Linda's is awesome. Sometimes it can get a bit hectic (especially when 30 Yelpers descend upon it for an ugly holiday sweater party) so I can forgive the servers if they seem a little pushy--they actually needed to push by us. Maybe it was the lit-up xmas tree on my sweater, but the bartenders and patrons all seemed really friendly and cool. They have Ninkasi's Total Domination IPA on tap, as well as several other tasty brews (and Hamm's if you prefer cheap swill). I hadn't been to Linda's in a while, but I'm thinking I will be back soon.

I like Linda's. It's got a decent menu, at decent prices. A late(r) happy hour & a sweet patio. BUT.... I've been there twice in a row to try their chicken fingers because I'm told they are delicious and both times, they were unable to accommodate. WTF?! They are chicken fingers. Usually frozen & need to be thrown in the deep fryer? Maybe these are different?! Maybe they are fresh & hand breaded? I don't know....I haven't got to try them!!!!! Grrrrrrr......

Used to frequent this place before my class at Seattle Central- great burgers and sandwiches (my favorite!). Service is good- even when I brought in a group of 6-7 people. My favorite thing about this place though? You get a toy with their "happy meal" during happy hour. Who doesn't want a toy with their burger and fries?!

I'll think twice before wearing a very warm (and ugly!) holiday sweater here (got rather toasty after a while), but otherwise it's a pretty darn good place to have a slightly drunk gathering with a group of friends! Our group was quite big and we ended up splitting up between a few tables on different levels, but it all worked out. I kind of enjoyed the "log cabin" feel to the place and the holiday decorations fit that place so well. We started our party during happy hour and I was ridiculously hungry, so one of my first orders was their only happy hour food deal: Three sliders for $3. The sliders were perfect little mini-burgers with a pickle spear on the side. I was very pleased. Drink-wise I enjoyed their hefeweizen and then decided to turn it into a "cheap beer night" and had a few of whatever their cheaper selection is. I think it's called Hemm's? I never could remember it, so I just always told the waitress "That cheap one- Hemm's or something?" and she knew what I meant. And that brings me to service. It was.... fine. I heard the male employee was "in a mood" so I stuck to the female one. There was one instance where I had to order my drink twice because she seemed to forget about it, but otherwise she did a fine job. The bathrooms: The women's bathroom is pretty small, so I was glad they had a stall so someone could use the toilet while another person could wash their hands. It was mostly okay, except towards the end of the night where I was walking out of the stall and a guy walked into the bathroom and rushed to the toilet. As I'm washing my hands he starts peeing (without closing the stall door) and when another girl tries to walk into the bathroom he exclaims "Close the door!" Ummm... weird. It'll probably be a long while before I pay Linda's another visit, but I'm definitely not opposed to the idea.

I liked this place. Good beer list. Nice, come as you are vibe hip without being overly hipster. If I lived in Capitol Hill, Seattle, I could see myself here often.

Food was 3 stars, service 1 star. Linda's is a prefect example of a restaurant I'll come back for the food, despite the service. Service here has never been good, and today on Easter Sunday was no exception! Our breakfast entrees did not come out as we ordered. Wrong cheese, missing breakfast meat, but we never had a chance to rectify the issue as the server never came back to check on us after our food was delivered. We got a "sorry it took so long..." and she whisked away before we could ask her anything more and we never got checked on again. It may be awhile until we come back again, but people be warned that in the last three times I've been here the service has been SLOW!

You can tell this used to be a cool place before the hipsters completely overran it. Too bad. However, if that doesn't bother you, and neither does really slow service and listening to Spice Girls during your hangover brunch, you'll probably like it. The food was decent, and the prices were cheap.

Not a fan. There are always so many people here and i have no idea what for. The people are kind of prententious, and the brunch food was bland and not good at all. The space is also just kind of gross... and not in an endearing way.

Linda's: the friendly Capitol Hill version of a neighborhood watering hole. One who is visiting can do any or all of the following things within its (appropriately) grimy environs: - Partake in the latest regular every day HH in the city (until 9) for cheap drinks. - Hang out outside on the "patio" replete with its own bar, weather permitting. - See bizarre groups of the local flavor, like random costume parties. - Consume standard emergency pub grub only if heading to the superior food options of Hot Mama's for drunk pizza or Rancho Bravo for a sober burrito afterward are out. - Not get complaints for showing up with 15+ people in a group unannounced. - Run into old friends (and foes) as enough disparate people hang out here. In short, this is not the place to take a date for some intimate time but rather a place to immerse in the community. Perhaps a better way of stating it would be that in the evenings, Linda's is like a Capitol Hill Community Center... except with alcohol.

As if I didn't like love Linda's enough, they had to go and run Happy Hour specials all day during their 18th birthday. Lots of fun, lots of beer, a bunch of tasty cheap food and a "who parked a truck on my head?" hangover that lasted me well into the next afternoon. Totally worth it, though. This place continues to hover at the top of my list of favorite Cap Hill spots. You should go there. Really.

My friend's dad has his house filled with stuffed animal heads and wood furnishings that looks like he cut them himself. Linda's was very much so reminiscent of that. A few steps up the hill of R Place, Linda's is always poppin with a much more hipster/alternative crowd. The lady checking the ID was nice; a friendly bouncer is always a positive thing in my books. My two friends and I proceeded to the bar to order two Long Island Ice Teas. It was an interesting experience as the bartender ran out of what I think was lemon juice/sour and had to get another bottle... Although he wasn't sure that it was what he wanted so after he smelled it, another bartender had to smell. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know if I would really want to see someone put their nose into something I'm about to drink, but alas I am not the professional. The patio outside in the back was legit but we opted to stay inside. Lots of booths and a pool table to boot. People, decor, and vibe was all good. Hope to be back soon.

Honestly did not find anything in particular that made Linda's stand out for me. I can easily sum up this place as a: Hipsters slumming place. My guess is that they come here when the Cha-Cha lounge is (always) overcrowded. You defiantly get your pick of people watching here. That was the highlight of my time spent here. One guy looked something straight out of Lord of the Rings with his hooded cloak. Food was good but your typical greasy bar-fare. They did have a veg option on the board though! I doubt I'll make my way over here again, unless a group of friends are hanging out in the joint.

I'm not a music critic, but if a bar or club is playing bad enough music, it is really distracting and makes the beer taste worse. Linda's beer tasted like Def Leppard. A friend visited from out of town and we wanted to try some of the well-yelped CapHill spots so Linda's was first on the list. We were impressed with the selection of beers on tap and the authentic but somewhat clean dive-bar vibe. The beers we tried were very good. However...the entire time we were there they were playing Def Leppard and Guns N Roses songs. (It could have been just one of those bands, I can't tell them apart. Either way, after the 2nd beer and 6th or 7th GNR song I was ready to leave and go anywhere else.) + 3 stars for having good beer and a unique vibe. - one star for allowing the Wayne's World guys to choose the playlist during Friday night happy-hour.

I loved working there and the food is awesome! I wish i still worked there. i give this bar 5 stars because having been a team member, i know that we use to all work together to provide great customer service and an experience that screams SEATTLE!

The ambiance and history of the place make this tavern a destination for many a Seattle tourist and Hipster. However the service is consistently awful. I live across the street so I have tried to give that bar multiple chances to redeem themselves. However each time I go back the service is worst then the last time. Tonight I went in and the bar was empty there were employees walking around but no one bothered to ask if I needed anything. When the bar tender did manage to talk with me he never made eye or face contact but remained back to me the entire time. I ordered one of their hamburgers and that was really the only good thing I took from this final experience at Linda's. The food is decent but the employees are cold, condescending and out of touch with reality most of the time.

Super long wait for super bad food! One of the worst brunches i've had in Seattle! This place is also extremely saturated with hipsters! And not the clean decent looking hipsters but the grimy & foul looking ones! You Seattleites know what i'm talking about.

Like a pair of old Chucks, Linda's fits me. Linda's has seen me on my first week in Seattle, on my birthday, before shows and after shows, entertaining guests and just enjoying my weekend. It's safe to say that Linda's is my favorite bar in Seattle. She's not flashy. She's not gimmicky. There's just something about her that suits me well. That something could be the music. Whether the juke box is on or the staff is playing through their ipod, without fail I'll be singing along by the end of the night and wanting to go home and listen through various albums. That something could also be the clientele. Of all the bars on the hill, Linda's seems to attract the most diverse drinking crowd. It's not overrun by skinny jeans or facial hair or faux glasses. It's full of people. Unpretentious, laid back folks. With a large outdoor patio in the back and a prime spot on the hill, Linda's can fill up fast and with good reason. That something could also be the cheap drinks and strong pours (check out their happy hours). The slightly surly bartenders keep the line moving, the drinks pouring and the tables cleared. Whatever that something is, it's got me hooked. I've got some love for Linda's.

Linda's Tavern is one of my FAVORITE places to go in Seattle. Every time my friends go out I insist that we at least stop momentarily at Linda's! I particularly enjoy the fact that their happy hour runs from 7-9 p.m. This has been perfect timing as other happy hours typically only run to 6 or 7 p.m. Also, being a graduate student I have night classes, so running after class to grab a quick bite to eat at Linda's before their happy hour ends at 9 p.m. makes eating out affordable and fun. The atmosphere at Linda's be it inside or outside on the patio is like nowhere else you could imagine (except for maybe the states of Montana or Idaho). The solo pool table is usually occupied, however if you get there early you can get a chance at playing. The wait staff is particularly awesome --- they are always so friendly, timely, and know what they are doing. The bartenders are fun too and will offer really great suggestions to you if you want to try something new be a new beer on tap or a new drink concoction (try the hefeweizen and raspberry beer 1/2 and 1/2 together and you will be in heaven). Not to mention their awesome pitcher deals at happy hour --- Hamm's for $5.50---you can keep four poor students happy with that one!

The last time I went to Linda's for evening drinks, I ended up wandering around Capitol Hill alone wearing a fake mustache and found myself in the middle of the War Room's terrible dance floor relenting to girls with camera phones who wanted a picture of me with their (actually mustachioed) boyfriends. This may say something about the strength of the pours from the bar, the size of a shot of Bulleit or the warm flame of the outdoor heaters that the inner moth of my drunk is drawn to. In any event, this is not the place I go for drinks with friends anymore. That being said, I still find myself at Linda's at least thrice each month. Why? BRUNCH. This is my longest-standing favorite brunch restaurant in Seattle for a few reasons. 1. BULLRIDER. Their chicken-fried steak, which has a tendency to sell out by noon on weekends, is delicious. The home fries are not amazing, the eggs are fine, the sometimes-slice of kiwi on the plate is a nice surprise, but the steak, the breading, the gravy - I dream of these things. 2. The service. Could I be any more in love with Ritchie? Could seeing Kelli's sweet face so early on a Sunday make the rest of my day any better? The people who work here are great but these two consistently go out of their way to make my experience at Linda's amazing. 3. The ambiance. I can sit inside and listen to Phosphorescent or Aretha or whatever fits within the staff's whims and it always works. When it's sunny I can sit on the back patio with my sunglasses on the entire meal, decimating a pitcher of mimosas and gazing into the eyes of my perfect best friend. Decent bathrooms, usually clean. Don't get me started on the buffalo head. Minus one star for the questionable clientele on weekend evenings (is this bar in the U-District or...?...), difficult parking and sometimes endless waiting for a brunch table. Still, I'll forever agree to sit patiently on the edge of one of the planter boxes out front (with a mocha from Stumptown across the street) until my name is called.

I don't get to Capitol Hill often, which is one thing I often regret because it means I'm missing out on places that are as fun and great as Linda's. Honestly, I'd never ever heard of the place and had to Yelp it pre-visit to read up on the food, the drinks, and to find out where the heck it was! Happily, the place was pretty darn good. The patio is fantastic! I was surprised to see that it even existed - it's like a little oasis in the middle of Capitol Hill. It was a fairly warm evening and it was really nice to just be out there, chatting with friends and chomping on french fries. Speaking of the french fries - SO GOOD. They reminded me a little bit of Dick's fries, which means they MUST be decent because Dick's fries are my absolute favorite. The cheese fries are good too, but the plain ones are where it's at. Plenty of salt and just the right amount of grease. Our waitress was quite attentive, which was a pleasant surprise considering the number of people out on the patio. She got us everything we needed and was friendly and nice while doing so. Happy hour runs until 9pm (at least on Saturdays!), so try to get in there and save a few bucks. One downside is that it got VERY crowded later in the night. It seemed like the people checking IDs were letting every single person come inside, which made for a lot of cramped space and a huge line at the bar. Luckily I'd got my fill of drinks earlier in the evening, plus we'd managed to grab two tables on the patio around 8:30pm! I'd recommend this place. I'd like to come back and try some more of the food. Apparently they do brunch? Sign me up for that!

Linda's will always have a special place in my heart. When I first moved to Seattle in 1997, I spent quite a bit of time here discovering microbrews. I hadn't returned in quite a while until it was suggested to meet there for brunch one morning. What? Linda's serves breakfast?! Who knew?! Not I! So, ya, it's become a happy haunt again for me now, only now for breakfast instead of beer. There is usually a wait, but it moves pretty quick and the food is worth waiting for...

This is my favorite place for brunch on the weekends. The tacos are delicious, mimosa pitchers are made using an entire bottle of champagne, and seating is never a problem if you show up at or before noon. If this place weren't so crowded on weekend nights, I would give it five stars. Keep it up, guys!

My husband and I come here multiple times when we are in town. The drinks are good. The atmosphere is comfy and unpretentious. One bartender in particular really knows her stuff and is an absolute doll. I can 100% guarantee you that we will be back here next trip!

I came here with a regular after dropping off a couple out of town friends during their visit. It was a perfect second bar to visit! I only wanted another beer at most. The bartender was super friendly. I love that they have an outdoor area so you can just chat and if you have a smoker with you it works out pretty well. I'll be back for sure!

Having already been here for brunch twice in the month or so since I moved to the Hill, my opinion of Linda's keeps getting better and better. I love that you can get a seat without a problem at 11 on a Saturday, I love that the portions are sensible, and I love that I can get a great breakfast for $5-10. But most of all, I love the exceptionally nice service. Seriously, I don't think I have had friendlier servers anywhere in Seattle. Everything about Linda's is great (at least for brunch)!

The door man is a douche. And I believe the only time I've returned to this after my first review was for Kerrie and for (my still officially perfect attendance) USCP. It really isn't worth much more.

Solid standby for a decent, no frills breakfast, which is far too uncommon in this town. The outdoor patio is great in warm weather. The music can be a bit loud for my old fogey ears, but that's part of the atmosphere.

Linda's has a quirky atmosphere and a rotating selection of beers from obscure to local to safe/popular. Fun specialty drinks and the food is good. Roomy for a small bar, good music and neat patio. Great Cap Hill chill spot for drinks.

oOh Linda...Linda, you are A-OK. I would like to say you are a little better than just ok, but sadly I can't. Your staff never smiles, it's overly crowded, not very clean, and yes, I know you are a dive bar in essence, but you not a top notch dive bar. You do however have a good selection of brews and a good deal on pitchers, however, you called "last call" this weekend at 1:15..that's uber early? Is it not? lol. I do like you, it's fun to play pool there, it's just not my first pick when it comes to dive bars around the Hill. I would like you much more if your bouncer or ANY of your bartenders would crack a smile. It can go a long way :)

Wow, I can't even believe I survived going here since there were so many hipsters. I mean, the second I walked in, the hipster at the door was like "Can I see your ID?" I BARELY had time to grab my wallet that's chained to my skinny jeans so I could get my id out. Hey man, give me a second, okay? It's hard to get my wallet out of the pockets of these skinny jeans! So, I can barely get to the jukebox to ironically play Motley Crue because there are so many hipsters in the way, which is annoying because I had just come from seeing MGMT at Block Party, so I'm kind of over crowds. It takes forever for me to get my beer, and then when I sit down to drink, all these stupid hipsters keep stepping on my courier bag. Also, it was really loud in there and I could barely hear my friend going on at length about her new tattoos. Next time, I'll ride my fixie over to Redwood so I don't have to deal with all these hipsters.

I have a feeling that Linda's is one of those places that either clicks with you or doesn't, and for me, there was not much in the way of sparks. While I respect the bouncer is doing his job, would you mind letting us come in from the cold (and by extension not leaving the door open to freeze everyone else) before demanding IDs even as we are digging them out of our wallets? I didn't personally interact with the bartenders so no comments there, and there were two staff members who bustled around the floor taking orders and serving food and drink. Both seemed diligent and on the ball and are a major reason why I didn't rank Linda's lower. I didn't eat anything, and my rum & coke was fine but not good enough to entice me to order more than one. The space itself is decently sized with a few booths and tables down near the bar (that our large party took over) and a more spacious upstairs collection of booths and tables. The place is popular enough that it was quite crowded on a Friday night and the disadvantage of our location was that there were a lot of people pressed up around the bar as well. The bathrooms were reasonably clean, but 2 bathrooms (one per gender) really isn't sufficient for the number of people that were hanging out, and waiting in the hallway is inconvenient as people are going back and forth to the outdoor patio. The music ranged from loud to painfully loud, which is never a good situation for me, and I was starting to get a headache by night's end. While I had a good time, it was more related to the good company I was with than to the establishment. However, it didn't really do anything 'wrong' either. I'd come back if invited to some other event, but probably not of my own volition.

Linda's positives are menu variety (delicious, spiked hot cocoa!), relative cheapness for neighborhood, outdoor bar area perfect for summer, and good service. I went there late on Thanksgiving night, and our table had a designated server who was quite attentive about checking in on us even though we had drinks but no food. The main reasons I don't give this a higher star rating is that it has a major hipster vibe (not my thing), there's basically nothing special about it, and it seems dive on accident. Linda's is the kind of place I only plan on going to when invited by other people. I haven't really tried the food there.

Linda's staff is great, drinks are relative cheap, the atmosphere is good for radial partying with a large group if you get a table early. But its nothing special, just the best place to people-watch both hipsters and douche-bags.

Here's the deal. Get a seat out on the patio early. Chill out with a pitcher of some damn good IPA. Now that delicious smell wafting through the air is... BURGER! Really Really good Burger! Resistance is futile once you get a whiff of the yummy smell. I got the B & B Burger, Bacon and Blue cheese with awesome fresh cut fries. It was the best tasting burger that I can ever remember having. Cheers

The first time I came to Linda's way back when Dfens played tour guide for Ari, Rob, and I, I could have already written a 5-star review. The back patio was great, the food was good ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pLUD… ), the drinks were potent, and as Ari reminded me, they had the best lemon drop ever (I should have remembered, I always end up drinking hers when I'm buzzed and feel entitled to other people's stuff). *Ahem* months later, I come back and set up DY-Kerrie-L...and I'm so glad I didn't have the motivation to write the review back then. This time I have a little more to go on, and such an awesome experience to write about (not to mention awesome people to thank). I was so happy to see and meet everyone, to be able to sit inside this time, to drink even more than the first time, and to even witness an arrest across the street. Michael O and Lindi M got there *early* (earlier than us...perhaps because I wanted to check out the Babeland sale on the way) and got the best patio table ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pLUD… ), on its own near a heat lamp (although I did have to ask the bartenders twice to come help us turn it on). Then Charlie D snagged a table inside (a big one too!) - I'm so grateful! (We had to have two seating areas, one up the stairs, one down, and I was always smooshed in the corner, so I didn't get to hang out with half the people that showed up.) So glad I finally got to meet the famous Michelle B(!), thank you for bringing the hoodies...the one intended for me somehow did not leave with me though...I have a feeling it got lost in the shuffle and ended up with another yelper. For the entertainment: Matt R - the first stripper I've ever seen in person ( yelp.com/biz_photos/pLUD… ), Nina Bear - the shots that put me over the edge; Riss - the highly *highly* entertaining stories (and for making me walk you over to R Place, early). Thank you Betsy K for showing up to see me, even after a hard week and a hard Good Friday of fasting. Thank you Sean, Ron, Ray, Rachel, Prema, Lawrence, Ian, John C, Tony, Crespin, and Janeane, for coming out. Everyone at the other table, I'm sorry we didn't get to hang out! :-/ (Happy birthday Mitzie!) (and we missed you Ari! Wish you could have come back....) Dfens - thank you for taking care of us all those months ago and for doing it again last week. Thank you for the entertainment, as always. And thank you for taking care of me! ( static.px.yelp.com/photo… )

Why do people always call Linda's a hipster bar? I think the problem is that, I still think of "hip" as being at a party where Frank Sinatra and Christopher Walken get into a fist fight over Audrey Hepburn? She gets sick of it, and leaves on a 1947 Triumph, so Sinatra and Walken decide to have a laugh about it all, over a 100 year old bottle of scotch! I guess if you're an artist.... and were going to be famous in the future, it would be cool that you drank here.... to your fans... after you died... but by that time, who the hell cares? Linda's is for everybody.... everybody that likes beer and a pretty decent fat fryer.

I remember being at Linda's last year during Halloween. The memory actually just came back as I was scanning the other reviews. It was good times and there were a lot of friendly people. Not sure what the difference was between the people on the patio and the people inside but I definitely got a friendlier vibe on the patio. I was dressed as a hippie. Not dirty. More like flower child. Anyway, I've been back a time here or there but this place never really stood out to me..until recently. I came here with Riss and Mitzie after finishing off a SIFF film at the Egyptian. There was some tummy rumbling and I just wanted to go to the closest place to put my hunger pains at ease. Linda's was a hop and skip, no jumping needed and we were there in seconds. I ordered the blue cheese bacon burger with onion rings. The one discomforting factor in my dining experience was the loud and grungy music playing while I tried to consume my little piece of heaven. It was 3 in the afternoon for freks sake...on a Sunday. Can we chill out please? The best blue cheese bacon burger I've had, ever. You may think that onion rings are a dime a dozen and for the most part you would be right but the onion rings here were delish! Sweet, crunchy and the actual onion stayed in place instead of slithering out when you bit into the ring. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back for the food. I may just get it to go...I do not like being yelled at while eating, or at all really. Maybe I could convince them to turn down the volume a bit next time? We'll see....

For the amount of times my friends have been kicked out, we seem to end up here quite often... There is definitely something to be said for how forgiving they are, LOL. Sometimes they have these great drink specials. Once it was $5 for a shot of Tequila and a Tecate! I stumbled out that night with a light heart and a heavy wallet. Even when it's busy you still get served relatively quickly. Also they door guy on the weekends looks like Phillip Seymour Hoffman which sort of rules.

Had a great first time there, Dale one of the bartenders/bar-backs bought a round for my boyfriend and me for having just moved to the neighborhood. We really appreciated it after moving expenses. The food and beer selection is great. Since our first visit we've been back a few times and admittedly the service has not been as good as Dale's was, but the happy hour prices for $10 any pitchers and $6 appetizers (Quesadilla's the best!) make it worthwhile. They also have daily specials with very interesting and tasty beverage and food concoctions. I like to think the reason for the so-so service on the reg, is that it's a neighborhood bar where everyone is expected to make themselves feel at home and "help themselves" to whatever they need...even if it means flagging down someone else's server....... .... ... The happy hour is just that good.....

Linda's serves food for cowboys. Although probably better as a bar, I have been to brunch at Linda's two times too many. Both times, I was underwhelmed with their breakfast foods. I could've made a better breakfast burrito in my sleep. Then I wouldn't have had to put on pants to eat it, when I woke up. Also, there seems to be some major disconnect with the ordering of a BEERMOSA. I am unsure if the servers are just so busy, that they only hear the "beer" part, and bring you back a Pabst, or if the bartender is just fed up with all the alcoholism on the hill, and figures that anyone making up drinks ought to sober up with a tall glass of OJ, but Great Balls of Fire is it hard to get them to pour beer into a half-filled glass of orange juice around here. Other than that, I dig the fact that their jukebox (muzak? 5-disc CD player?!?) only seems to carry Pearl Jam and Nirvana tunes, because this is the kind of music cowboys like to listen to while they eat sub-standard breakfast sliders and beerless-juice. As far as food, I'd take the Canterbury over Linda's, any day or night. Hands down, or dukes up. [Bar wise, I have been here and enjoyed myself, they'd got a delicious stout on tap and Halloween here is crazy.]

The breakfast here is so good! I ordered the veggie eggs benedict and it was delicious! I have a lot of friends who are regulars who convinced me to go with them and now i'm hooked! The service was great and all of the food looked so good, I can't wait to go back! Also came here for late night happy hour. The pitchers of manny's were flowing quickly as the servers were very attentive, and my kid's happy meal/happy hour special was a treat! Excellent french fries!

Good ambiance, not too hipstery. But I'ma warn you, do not order the nachos. The nachos here suck a big one. It's like dried out beans, no meat, burned chips and .0125 cup of cheese. Don't do it.

Linda's is alright. If you want to grab a beer & just talk with a few friends it's a fine place but there are a ton of other bars and restaurants (or your living room) that would be just as good or better. I get kind of bored by Linda's because there are no games or dance music or much of anything but talking to do. The bartenders are nice enough. The crowd at Linda's are all people who have the same woodsy rock anti-establishment look, which I always find kind of odd - how are you a rebel if you look exactly the same as all your friends?

A crowded, relaxed, non-douchey, non-annoying-hipster place to drink on the hill. What more could you ask for? Well, there's more: it's also where all the sub pop dudes used to hang out. I remember seeing that sub pop owner dude with the big ol' beard at Linda's in the early 90s. If you're still not sold on Linda's then try this on for size: tall-boy Polish beer.

Have you ever wanted to enjoy some adult beverages at the place Kurt Cobain was last seen at alive? I don't know if that is a main attraction, but it sure was interesting to me. Linda's is a great bar located in Capitol Hill and with both indoor and outdoor seating; it makes for a very fun evening with friends. There is plenty of room so it doesn't feel cramped when it gets overly busy. A pitcher of beer is the way to go if you are with a reasonable group of people. A pitcher here fills four pint glasses perfectly. The outside area is really great, so if you go on a nice evening, I'd definitely recommend sitting out there. I'd highly recommend their blood orange beer, and their food is incredible too. The vegetarian nachos were fantastic, as were their French fries and chicken fingers. Definitely hit up their happy hour for some great prices on drinks and food! It is from 7pm - 9pm every night.

Good happy hour and the outdoor seating is a huge plus. Other than that, nothing stands out too much about Linda's. Definitely worth stopping in though :)

I went here for the first time for brunch on Sunday. This was on my list of places to visit as there is always a crowd outside on weekend mornings. They have the normal breakfast fare in addition to breakfast tacos and huevos rancheros. I went traditional with eggs, sausage and pancakes. All in all the food and atmosphere were a hits with me. I will be back. I have a tendency to compare everything to places in Los Angeles. Linda's reminds me of the Saddle Ranch on Sunset.

I've been here a couple time for breakfast and drinks. I enjoy the place, it has that dive bar feel to it. The service is always good and the place is always packed. Food is good, not great - it's bar food.

First, a disclaimer: I've never had the brunch. I don't like crowded brunches. It's probably great, food-wise. Who knows? Ok! So I've been to Linda's for drinks lots and once for food. The food was a no-go because, apparently, they close the kitchen for like.. I don't know, half an hour? On Sundays? We were bummed and left because I was in serious need of a burger. (Love you Mia's.) So for the drinks, I guess I've been at weird times or whatever, I dont know, and the same guy always serves my party and me, and we call him Palm Tree Neck Tattoo Guy. If you're a regular then I'm sure you know who PTNTG is, and he's probably an awesome dude or whatever, but man... the service is seriously lacking. Sorry, PTNTG. I feel bad, I really do, but it must be said. I keep going back to Linda's because I love the space and the vibe, but I actually try to avoid being served by PTNTG, because the service is slow and inattentive. So yeah, basically, this place is popular, and if you are into popular places and crowds and (probably) decent food and cool vibes, it's awesome. If you go at weird times because you like more room to breathe (guilty), try to avoid PTNTG.

3.5 stars. A few memories of Linda's place after a 7&7 and a few brews... This was the sight of the ugly Christmas sweater party. Mine was ugly heavy, itchy, and hotter than bleep. It was a good excuse for some cold ale. The ales lead to conversation. The conversation led back to more ales... Linda's is like drinking in a log cabin or a tiny little Elk's lodge. One of the better deals is the $3 sliders during happy hour. (Here's where the review may become less useful...) A small collage of my night... Linda's was the last place where Kurt Cobain was sighted in public according to some sources. Blurred memeories. Stories about sewing quilts of the boxers of some felmale Yelper's ex boy friends. Upside down X-mass trees on sweaters and turtle necks. Raindeer antlers. Walking home in 45 degree weather that feels like 60 degrees. The end.

I'm sick of reviewing San Diego things time to get back to Seattle. Before I headed out of town I was finally able to make it to Linda's for their brunch. I'm not sure why I never made it before, maybe I was too fat or too ugly or not cool enough anyways I met up with Michael O for some mimosas and breakfast. We were thirsty that day and went for the pitcher, OMG it was almost mimosa overload so much mimosas for two people, but have no fear like the troopers that we are we finished the picture, I mean pitcher. I went for the cowboy taco and I was thinking a breakfast taco for $7.25 what kind of taco are they going to give me??? Well the menu is a bit deceiving it should be call more a cowboy quesadilla or something it was no taco in my book, anyways it was big and filling but not a taco people. I say grab a good friend, head to Linda's, (get there when they open), grab a booth, order a pitcher of mimosa's and than sit there and relax with you friend until the pitcher is gone while others are stuck crowded at a tiny table. Oh and what ever you do, do not go to the ladies room, it's bad, you'd think first thing in the morning it might be clean and OK nope so not the case.

A pre-Halloween/I quit party ended here. We wandered into the upper dining room when someone in our group pointed out there was a courtyard. Oh glories of glory- this was Fall time perfection! Outdoor bar, tons of seating, and huge heaters made for an amazing party environment. Pitchers arrived and we laughed, all was right in our world.

Had my second brunch at Linda's after a haircut at Aveda :))......hubby ordered the huevos rancheros, again, and it was as good as the last time.......they have a number of south of the border options to kick start your day......last time I had the omelette with veggies with a side of blueberry pancakes........but this time i had sauteed veggies with has brown and choice of cheese with toast .......i also ordered a short stack (2) of their bluberry pancakes .........the veggies and hash browns were crispy but lacked salt n pepper ........i asked for provolone cheese on top which was perfect........blueberry pancakes were fluffy and tasty with freshest blueberries inside, the sweet butter and syrup were icing on my pancake "cake" :)))...... the only thing i didn't like was the long wait for the food to come, 30 minutes to be precise............hubby had to rush back to the car to fill in more quarters for the roadside parking........30 minutes is a really long wait esp if ur coming for brunch!!!.......i hope I have a better experience next time. plus their website doesn't work ( lindastavern.com )

What can I say about Linda's that hasn't already been said? First the good: the patio rocks. We managed to snag a table outside, and it was just the right kind of crispness in the air for a great summer/fall night. When it started to get cold, they turned on the heaters. The beer is cheap, and good enough to drink. The food is standard pub-fare. We had the nachos, onion rings, and fries, and they were all good, but nothing to write home about. Now the bad: The beer selection is not always the greatest. Now, I was outside, so the beer selection at the bar was a little different, but they go for cheap instead of good...which is definitely a good thing for certain nights, but I would rather taste good beer than cheap beer sometimes. Also, don't go for the drink specials. I was seduced by the "planter's punch" for some unknown reason, and it disappointed, to say the least. So in summary: a great little spot, the ambiance is pretty good, relatively cheap, but you get what you pay for

bf,friends and new friends came down here to have brunch on a beautiful sat in seattle.they are def busy on the wknds.service took too long.but i guess because we were all hungry.if you can wait to get seated outside when its nice and sunny, then do it.its better than being inside.so heres the rundown: 1.pitcher of mimosas for the table.a must when you go to any breakfast/brunch place. 2. sirloin steak.eggs and hashbrowns:bf and i ordered this, despite my steak being well done. they did a good job and it still was tender.and trust me, a lot of places mess up well done steaks since apparently you shouldnt be eating well done steak. 3.must try their buffalo bloody mary.because its what one of the drinks you should try when you go here for brunch.i didnt have the chance to try this because they ran out of buffalo jerkey. 4.banana bread french toast:its definately filling.everything a banana type bread should be.tasted very similar to banana bread, which i love 5. ordered a side of bacon:love bacon and gotta have them for breakfast.it was a good decent size bacon and it wasnt too salty.some places make their bacon too salty

After several experiences with Linda's I have to add my review to the mix. Linda's is exactly what these reviews say it is, the good ones and the bad. The staff is downright unfriendly, but the drinks are poured right. The place attracts a certain type of hipster, but if that's your thing you'll feel right at home. The bathrooms are gross, but the patio is near perfection (if you can find a seat). It will never be my bar of choice, but I can see many people calling it their second home.

Going to school at SU, my friends and I always tried to find places around capital hill to unwind after our evening classes. One night someone suggested we hit up Linda's, and that's where our class gathered at. Pretty busy for a Thursday night. Happy hour food was decent and cheap. Drinks were nice and stiff. Great place for college students on a budget.

Their happy hour starts later than anywhere else (7-9p) so you can go there after other places. They allow dogs which is a huge bonus. Huge patio in the back. Servers aren't the friendliest and happy hour plates are small, but $10 for a pitcher is awesome. For weekend brunch, get a pitcher of mimosa. I got the happy hour chicken fingers and they were spiced and had flavor to them, so delish. The fries can be greasy thouh

I had forgotten how good the brunch is here. There's not one entree over $10--except maybe the steak and eggs. They want you to linger and enjoy your meal. Super yummy huevos rancheros. Hubs got the Texas Taco, and it wasn't as good, but filling. Being able to eat on the back patio is awesome. They also have space for large groups. Its the height of hipsterness, but mellow just the same. Of course the service is uneven, but the servers are always friendly and upbeat. And $15 for a pitcher of mimosas? Sold.

I liked that although it was crowded there was definitely plenty of seating. Drinks were cheap but skimpy. My husband got a really good deal on beer. We're used to $8-$10 craft beers. One thing I definitely did not like was that the waitress accused of us of not paying even though we started a tab. Rather than trying to see if perhaps they had misplaced our card (they had), they immediately assumed we hadn't paid. Crowd definitely seemed chill and nice though. If I went back, I think I would like it more than this review reflects.

Happy Hour from 7-9 and outdoor seating. All you could want with from a neighborhood bar. Oh, and if you like wearing hats that don't sit right on your head w/ skinny jeans a chain wallet and chucks then this is your joint.

So I'm in between giving this 3.5 to 4 stars. Both times I have been here, the food and drinks have been very well made which would be a 5 star. The service is a little off and on. Tonight we had a really great server 53 Dale, is what is on my receipt. He was fast and efficient for how busy it was in there. So I give him a 5 star. But we were there last month and our waitress, I don't have her name was slow, unfriendly and not very good on checking in on our table. So maybe next time I go there the service will be 100% amazing and I can give Linda's a 5 star re-review. :)

    4 Bullriders - $40.00 8 (or 12) Buffalo Marys - $64-96 1 Cowgirl Taco - $7.95 Biscuits and Sausage Gravy (?) = $7.95 2 pitchers of mimosas (that's right....PITCHERS) - $30.00 1 Scramble - $7.95 7 slightly drunk persons on the cozy, warm back patio causing chaos and destruction - priceless

Okay, so I tried the food at happy hour.. I must say if this place was more happy hour all of the time I could understand why this place is good. Shared a pitcher of (crappy) beer, fries and 6 sliders (3 each) and a shot of whiskey for 11 bucks (minus tip)... impressive! Happy Hour Lindas - 4 stars (shitty services looses a star) Summer time patio Lindas - 2 stars Regular time Lindas - 1 stars Weekend Lindas - 0 stars My rating still stands.

Woah; this place was PACKED on a Sunday night at around 10:45p. We'd been drinking all afternoon and were meaning to make it for happy hour food (apparently some sweet deals) but missed it. Unaware that the kitchen was about to close, the server kindly made us aware. I hate to be those people that put an order in right before a kitchen closes, especially when looking around found no one else in the bar eating food, but rather drinking away tall cans to an extent I've never seen before. Literally everyone in the entire bar had a can or 2 in front of them. I was in a bizarre hipster twilight zone for a moment. I went back and forth with the server. ("No, no really, we don't really need to order food." "No, really, it's not a big deal." "Really? Well, no, no don't worry about it." "Are you sure? It's really not a big deal." "Well, I don't know, what do you think (looking to boyfriend)?" He shrugs. We agree. It's okay to put in an order. A short while later, after marveling at the number of people that didn't have to work in the morning and sipping on some tall cans of PBR, our food arrives. We split a club sandwich w/ fries. The sandwich was great. A classic that tasted fresh. The fries were some of the best. i'd love to come bak to this place a little earlier when its less busy. This is obviously a favorite for a lot of people.

So, I know I definitely should never be in the service industry. I'm not one to plaster on a fake smile or to bother asking random strangers how their days are going, or how I may help them. It's just not my style. I get the impression that the majority of servers and bartenders at Linda's really shouldn't be in the industry either. They all are too cool for school.... errr.... too cool to serve people, which bugs the f out of me. My return visit to Linda's was pretty forgettable. Strong drinks (although I feel like you could go somewhere cleaner with better tasting drinks for the same price) and same weird atmosphere. Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, bad service. The one thing that stood out was their outside patio. It was closed my previous visit and it was pretty cool to go out and explore the area. The patio is pretty substantial, has it's own bar and plenty of seating. And I will say that the bartender outside was on her A-game. She was friendly, fast and mixed up a much better drink than the rather awkward, slow bartenders inside. In conclusion, Linda's is very mediocre, they have a cool patio, every hipster in the state of Washington migrates here, and Yelpers pretty much make any outing awesome.

Man, it would suck to be straight-edge at Linda's. And it's so close! Just down the hill (and around the corner, and up another hill), I'll ride my bike here. And then I'll have to wait a while before I can ride it home. That's how much Linda's rules. You come here for a night of drinking, saying "Nah, I won't drink too much. I'll just have a couple of beers and have a snack." Then before you know, it, you're up to your elbows in fat kid snax and you're so wasted that you can't properly tell the annoying hipster next to you to fuck off and die. Then you wake up the next morning and you say to your roommate "Gee, we should get some brunch somewhere!" Then you go to Linda's. AND REPEAT.

I really enjoy the back patio during the summer time. The bartenders have always treated me well. And they can usually make any drink I ask of them. Will be back to sample the brunch. I hear its yummy.

Best hangover breakfast spot! Mimosa pitchers and Bloody Mary's served with a stick of buffalo jerky!!! I'm in heaven. I took one of my good friends here the morning after his 21st birthday. He was so sick he puked right at the table. I'm sure we ruined the Linda's experience for anyone in our surrounding area. The waitress kicked us out (no hard feelings, I would have kicked us out too.) But they made our food to go. I've been there countless other times (always working off a hangover) and the food is always cheap and good. It gets real busy during the rush but its still my #1 breakfast spot in Seattle.

There is no better way to spend a weekend in Seattle visiting a friend. The patio. The glorious, glorious patio. The bar is alright. Dim. Warm. Full of people. The patio is really where it's at. It's like an extended version of your friends back patio, just you know, with a bar. A great bar. Each night I was there, the bartenders were friendly and accommodating, always checking to make sure we were locked and loaded. Drink of choice? Rainier with a straw. Do it. Class it up. You know you want to. Apparently we were out of our minds. It caused quite a stir. Young. Old. Hip. Punk. Students. Anything. Everything. You won't feel out of place here. I love Linda's.

Mary, Bloody Mary. You give me a week's worth of sodium in a single pint glass. And that's before you throw in the Old Country Buffet-sized array of garnish: pickled beans, pickled asparagus, 2 giant pimento-stuffed green olives, a big ol' celery stick, a lemon and a lime. Throw in a side of hash browns cooked to perfection and you've got yourself a nice morning snack. Always busy for brunch on the weekend, lines out the door, but you don't feel rushed to get a move on, in the interest of table turnover.

I've never really been here except for brunch. However, every time I go I love the place. I almost always end up with french toast on my plate and some mimosas. The drinks are always nice and stiff and the food is always tasty. some days the food is a bit greasy, but where do you get food at a bar that isn't so greasy? It's just so delicious. I highly recommend getting there about 30-45 minutes before you want to eat though because there always seems to be a line and a wait for the food! ----------------------------------------------------- Updated review: I'm knocking it down a star because the past few times I've gone my food has been burnt and cold. How I end up with burnt french toast that is still cold on the inside is beyond me, but it has happened now twice. The service is usually fabulous, especially considering I end up there with a group of 8-12 people. Either way, I'm over the Linda's experience.

Good breakfast for being on the patio of a bar! I liked the relaxed attitude, the breakfast was pretty decent (but the portion sizes were a little small), and the mimosa pitcher was perfect for a sunny Seattle morning. I probably wouldn't go here often, just because it's out of my way (I live in the U-District) and there are better breakfast places nearby, but if I ever find myself on Capitol Hill again, I would probably check it out. Also very reasonably priced for a breakfast place -- maybe it's 'cause of the slightly smaller portion sizes. I'd like to come here in the evening sometime.

This is a Seattle Icon. However, know this. It is a true Dive-Bar! Complete with a Moose head on the wall. Weather it be for brunch, or a night out with your friends! Always a good time! Their outside patio is what truly gives this bar its rating. Probably one of the most unique patios in Seattle, (And very big). Its like being in a friends backyard, only there are servers to wait on you! Great mix of music that will always keep the night going. Another great spot for people watching. I really have nothing bad to say about this place.

After almost 3 years of Yelping and 625 reviews... I come to find that I've yet to write up the place that took my YelpLife from online to offline. Linda's was the scene of my very first Yelp Happy Hour. I do believe that the night consisted of stops at The Capitol Club, Linda's, and Summit Ale House, but I cannot be sure. It was a lot of fun though. I won't ever forget it. With all the sentimental values I place on instances like this, I wish I had lots of great things to say about Linda's... I don't. It's not that it's bad. It's just not that good. In my opinion, the place used to be a whole lot better than it is now. But maybe that's just me. I do like the patio on a summer day or sitting at the bar that's never too busy when they first open. This haiku summarizes my feelings perfectly. Bartenders be cold, And the ale be colder. Vegetarian bacon? YES YOU CAN. Ballroom remodel, if you please...

In our attempt to drink less, we told ourselves that we would withhold from drinking for the night. At least, that was before we found out that Linda's Tavern served our beloved Ninkasi Total Domination IPA on draft. For over the past year, while going to school at the University of Oregon, we had fallen in love with the beers that the local Ninkasi Brewing Company produced and it saddened us that Seattle had not yet picked up on the trend, or at least that was what we believed. Though a bit sad that they did not have the Ninkasi Tricerahops Double IPA on draft, we hope that some of the other seasonal beers from the brewing company will make its way up to Linda's Tavern in the following months. Our group was here for a going away celebration and it was surprising to witness the sudden influx of people that made their way to the outdoor area at the rear of the bar after happy hour. Though a bit hectic during the later hours, especially if you do not make it outside, we are likely to make another visit until we find another bar with Ninkasi on draft. Also, if you happen to have a token hipster outfit in your closet, may want to dust it off if you plan on visiting.

So far I been here once with my Awesome Kick ball team meet up. It's a Hipster Divey Bar with taxidermy on the walls and old west paintings. their Mac n' Cheese with bacon was great with a bread crumb topping and everything looked good for their style of cooking. The Servers were friendly and took care of us at one point it took awhile to get our check and the refills on our drinks but a huge party came in and he eventually got to us. I would return here again and try the other dishes.

Linda's is a brunch staple for my fiance and I, especially on hungover mornings. We used to schlepp up from our nearby apartment on foot, but now we make the commute from farther away, just because it's a favorite. Great prices, strong drinks, and friendly wait staff make this a great place to have breakfast. You may have a wait, but it's worth it! Minus one star for the sometimes less-than-stellar service. But it's a busy place, and it's on Capital Hill, so what can you expect -- and the service has definitely improved in the last few months.

Definitely a fan. Great for drinks on the weekend...especially when its nice out and the beer garden is open. Just recently discovered that they do bfast too....don't get there too early, as they dont open until 10am. As long as you can stomach the ever-so slight morning after beer stench and the still-loud music, the food is cheap, good, greasy spoon eats. Mmmmm. And the little pixie dressed in all black that waited was super sweet and prompt. Linda's as a good bet....to start the day with an omelet or end the day with a friendly libation. Everyone needs a little Linda in their life....and I found mine.

Someone said in their review that, "Linda's fit them Iike a pair of worn Chucks". I own a pair of Chucks and if they ever fit like the service I received they would be in the trash. The service was my main complaint. It took at least 10 minutes to be seated in what look like an empty house. We watched as the servers walked by looking in out direction. The bartender did the same thing. I wasn't expecting first class treatment, but a simple courtesy to let me know that someone would be right with me would've helped. Before being seated we also got snubbed by not one, not two, but three servers so that they could greet(this included hugs) there friends standing behind us. I mean could it get any worse? After almost being bypassed and some uncomfortable eye contact as to whether to seat us or their friends first we got seated. The service continued to go down hill from there. I could go on and on about all the things that went wrong while dining there, but it would take forever. I won't even mention my "lake warm" Mimosa that made me cringed because it took so long o get that the first. I gave it two stars only because the food wasn't half bad.

Okay, so I still agree with most of the stuff in my last review, HOWEVER, I have been frequenting this place much more often lately which has to say something for their awesomeness, right? They have a most excellent patio on a summer day, and when it's cold or rainy they have nice little heaters outside to toast you right up! There are always ample amounts of flannel in the place, but it's usually worn by good looking rugged types, which makes it somehow okay ; ) The happy hour deals are pretty swell (7-9pm $9.50 pitchers of micros) and I always have a good time when I come. Also, I just discovered that their Nachos are awesome, though not the Happy Hour variety, which were less than inspiring. Yay Spring!

Best courtyard in Seattle. Great place for a pitcher and some sliders on a warm afternoon. The paint-by-numbers mural in back is awesome. Wish they'd have a painting party some time. Think that could be a fun summer event every year.

Fabled to be the last place Kirk Cobain was seen alive, Linda's is the original hipster hive. I like getting a drink there just to see who is in, The best part of lindas is the servers and door people genuinely friendly and welcoming. Best bet is to hit the patio in the summer. I encourage anyone visiting Seattle to go for a hangover breakfast and play my favorite game...."Who hooked up last night" Take note you may want to wear hip waders if you plan on using the restroom while you are there, Just FYI."

Went here on a Friday night. Pretty typical of a college town bar. The school isn't really close, but close enough. It was pretty busy when we went. They make a shandy's I think. There is seating inside and outside (with some heaters). Anyway, it's a college bar. Yes, we're getting too old for this.

~ probably-often-mentioned-fun-fact-that-i-still-impress-people-with: this bar is allegedly the last place kurt cobain was seen alive, so there is that. linda's happy hour is tit; six dollar pitchers of olympia, [far superiour to ranier, ugh] the sliders and burgers are bomb and cooked to order, rare to medium. because come the hell on, if you are ordering something to be cooked medium-well to well, you are a giant moron and are insulting your meal by your hang ups. put on some big boy/girl pants and order it medium-rare already, you pansy ass. every night they have a different burger on special, i had the veggiesaurus one night, and it was the best veggie burger i've had in months. sprouts and cheese and some other delicious bullshit, sign me up. and everything else on the happy our menu is seriously worth minuscule price. and they sure pour their spirits with the intent of lighting a fire in your belly. heavy handed and stiff lipped, they know what's up. also, it is generally a shit show here after happy hour winds down, and the staff is sober. so they aren't being assholes. drunks either skimp or splurge on tipping, so make sure you're hooking it up if you expect them to*. great place to meet up with friends, heated outdoor patio, smoking area behind that, spacious inside, and a portrait of laura palmer above the bar, you cannot go wrong, really. come during the week for a chill evening and a delicious burger. come during the weekend if you wanna get rowdy. order a burger, get a pitcher. you won't find anything to bitch about. have yet to get brunch, guess i know what i'm doing on sunday. * it seems a common misconception of the service industry that people working are there to serve you. fuck that, they are there to make money. it's their fucking job. so have some respect and understand this. if you're blowing it on gratuity a] you shouldn't be going out, b]they won't care because they aren't making any money to deal with your bullshit.

This is a staple hang out for my friends and I, and will always feel a little like home. The food is solid bar food, the servers are awesome and the price is right. Plus, who can go wrong with a 7-9 p.m. happy hour? You get a range of capitol hill people at this bar. Some of the best people watching has happened here, and also some of my best random conversations. If you like a good dive bar, you should definitely come here! Also, there is a nice patio outside for when the weather gets nice.

Here's how it went: I showed up and my buddy told me he would take care of the tab for the table. He was paying for three of us. The other two guys each had 2-3 rum and cokes. I had 2 beers. Between the three of us, it added up to $21.50. Only $21.50. I didn't feel guilty about having him take care of the whole tab. This is recession-priced drinking, friends. It might have been a math mistake, but I love Linda's Tavern. (Oh, also I liked the look of the place, the jukebox ruled, and I had fun)

EXCELLENT buffalo marys(bloody marys)!!! You get a huge piece of beef jerky in it, a pickled carrot(i've never had one and it was delicious), celery, a lemon, it had a nice little kick to it, and a cheap beer back. I had the eggs bene, it was different than what I am use to but still good. The sauce did not remind me of a hollandaise sauce, it lacked the creamy kick. But overall a great meal, wonderful hangover food(day after new years eve) and amazing bloody marys!!

The only reason i give this place 4 stars and not 5 is because the bathroom is way to small... only one stall... BOOOO other then that!! i love the scene, lots of hipsters that seem to be lost in a ho-dunk kinda bar... i love it!!! it was crowded on a tuesday night, i can't even imagine what it would be like on a friday or saturday!! there was a place in the back outside to smoke and drink and they had heaters... BIG plus for me... i don't like to be cold. The place was a little too warm inside and i don't know if thats a good or bad thing... I like to be warm, but when i'm a little toasty, that could be a problem for others... I stuck with Mannys... no whiskey for me, although i'm sure the drinks would have been stiff... :) i'll be back for sure... probably this weekend ;)

I like the fact that you can sub chicken breast for burger meat. The chicken/bbq/onion ring combo is booomb. Everything I love in a chicken breast buger. Well, if you're willing to wait for it to come... Everything else is not so awesome. Yes, the bathroom sucks and is very strangely laid out- one stall, one sink, no lock. Yes, it is always crowded as balls. Table service is pretty much non-existent at night. It takes forever to get acknowledged for a menu. They don't write anything down either- I tried to sub my fries for a side salad and the server seemed to understand when I ordered, but I ended up with a huge pile of fries and a dinner salad -which I got charged for. I'm also the kinda girl who doesn't like to raise a stink, so I paid for it all, buuut coomeee oonnn. Just write it down!

This is one of the best places to get brunch on Capitol Hill. They have pitchers of mimosas, delicious food for a very good price and the nicest servers around. Seriously, every time I have been here for brunch, whether in a large group or as a twosome, the service has been something to write home about. My boyfriend and I still rave about the bartender who served us brunch last December..as in 2009! Now, that's service!

Great energy, and like it says on the walls, "...Friendly People." Intense place for pool! It is great to watch the game, and meditative when you play. It's kinda like blood lust. Always great service. Great food with a diverse veggie menu. Nothing like Seattle veggie bar menus, and Linda's has one of the best veggie bar menus. Not a big fan of the animal heads. I just keep waiting for them to fall, and when they do, i know I will get startled and spill my beer, or miss my shot. So there's that!

Cheese Burger and Fries !!!! on the patio damn good lunch here yesterday with some friends, we were hanging out and they said a friend of there's was having a B-Day get together before heading to the War Room at Linda's, and that Linda's had good Cheese Burgers and Fries Hell yeah I'm in and it was just as good as they said it would be, the Grilled Veggie sandwich with a Salad that my friend had looked really tasty also she said it was delish :) thanks for a great sunny afternoon on the patio Linda's

As a bar, Linda's is so pretentious. Unless you're a cutesy hipster white girl, staff and clients ignore you. As a brunch place, the food is between 'ok' (mimosa pitchers, hash browns) and 'gross cardboard' (biscuits).

I have a love/hate relationship with Linda's. On one hand, their 7-9pm happy hour is a perfect compliment to other happy hours on the hill. And $6 pitchers of Hamm's and $3 sliders are a pretty good deal. But it's usually really, really crowded after 9pm on the weekend. Things are a bit better if the weather's nice - the back patio is super nice and spacious. And the waiters and bartenders are usually very friendly. So, as long as you can park your ass in a booth before it gets ridiculously crowded, you're good to go.

Met up with an old classmate from 7-8 years ago and we came here for happy hour on a weekday. They have a great happy hour time slot, from like 5-8pm and it's pretty quiet up by the pool table and booths in the back so you can chit chat. Our server was very nice and checked on us just enough, not too much, not too little. They've got a happy hour specials on both drinks and food, very cool. We ended just having two beers each and sharing the chicken strips and fries - delicicous! A must try. I've also been here on the weekends for drinks at night, very festive and lively, lot's of hipsters, lot's of fun.

I've been to Linda's once before. My experience was pleasant and the veggie sandwich I had was quite delicious but I found no appealing qualities of Linda's to compel me to go there again. I found myself there once more on an early Thursday evening for a pal's birthday get together. At about 4:30p.m. on a Thursday, Linda's was fairly empty. No complaints from me there since the last time I stepped foot in the joint it was packed to the rim. The absence of hipsters was a relief to me as well. I went up to the counter to order my beer. I choose the beer that had a St. Bernard dog's head on the tap. The barkeep pulled down the lever and my cup was full of foam. It was keg changing time but I told her to switch my beers because I didn't feel like waiting for a cold one. I settled on a Hamm's. I decided to get some food and browsed the menu. I immediately found the nachos and decided to get those. Being the nacho lover that I am, I am willing to try them once anywhere. You get the option of having regular ol' meat chili or vegetarian chili. I got my cow free and waited for them to come. About 10 minutes later I get my nachos which are loaded with multi-colored chips and loaded with beans. I dug and was disappointed. The chips had no flavor and the beans were missing some spices. I didn't even finish the nachos which is sacrilegious to me. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a meal. As the night drew on it began to get crowded signaling it was time to go. Linda's isn't bad but there are plenty of other bars I'd go to over this one.

Been here countless times over the last 7 years. Have to say it is my favorite bar in Seattle. With that said, I have never had a brunch or anything else here, just bar food and drinks. For that they do a wonderful job. Love their 7-9 happy hour, usually the time I dip in. Pitchers of craft beer fro $12! Amazing deal! Service is blah, you order, they bring. Far easier just to go to the bar and order in person as the waitresses seem to be overwhelmed.

This place is so fancy. Linda's gets an 'A' for being a good bar. I love coming here Christmas evenings to hang out with my buddies to have a few beers and shoot the shit.

  • Ren G.

Grungy, yet, acceptable. I really have no concept of why this place is so packed out. It's too loud, the food is mediocre at best, you have to fight to get a drink, and the place is always packed out. But will I go there again? Probably. Why? Because it's hip and fairly cheap. This is an A-OK grunge bar. That pretty much sums it up.

I'm all about brunch at Linda's. Awesome Mexican style egg dishes as well as delicious pancakes & waffles. Great weekend morning crowd and pleasant service. It's not on the menu but if you ask for hot chocolate I promise you won't be disappointed. Definitely recommend!

This place is just perfect for what it is...a hipster dive bar, as I'm sure many reviewers have stated before me. If it's decent food you're after, weekend brunch is the time to visit IMO...grab a drink and/or some coffee, pick your poison food-wise (for me, usually the Jimmy Pesto--a scramble with sundried tomatoes, pesto, and mozzarella), and you're set for a while. Drinks are of standard quality, music is usually 80s-90s, vibe is hip (obvi) and fun. Just try it!

An oldie but a goodie, warts and all. Great place to grab a pint with some friends and talk about whatever. Their huge patio in the back is perfect for summer afternoons/evenings. Definitely stick to beer or the most basic of cocktails (rum and coke, anyone?). One of the most appropriate places to drink PBR.

The service when I was at Linda's last night was great. The bar tender made a mistake and sent my card home with the wrong person - they were completely open and forthcoming with their fault. They comped my and my pal's tab for the trouble and had my card back to me soon enough. I greatly respect folks when they own up to their mistakes and do what they can to fix the problem. I have worked service jobs and know how stressful they can be and I know that shit happens. Linda's has always been great for brunch and late night revelry. Last night's staff went the extra mile to fix their mistake and made me a happy customer.

What is wrong with this place?!?! When people order breakfast, they want their breakfast at breakfast time. By the time I get my food, it'll be dinner time :( Worst service I've ever experienced.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Low key, chill environment. Perfect place for a group of friends to get together to have a few beers and play pool. I wish they had more than 1 table though. One of my favorite dive bars in Seattle. I have been there for breakfast once so far, and their mimosas are GREAT. Order one pitcher and you'll be very satisfied. There is a jukebox with super awesome old school rock music. Highly recommend this place. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because of parking. We always walk because it's not far from us, but for others coming from further away it can be a pain to find street parking, especially on the weekends.

This review is for Claire who took care of me and my friends for Sunday brunch during pride. She took all of our breath away by how on top of everything she was with a friendly smile to boot. I love the cowgirl taco here and would love to come here more often if the service weren't so spotty. Claire totally restored our faith. She was there when we needed her, refilled our water like crazy, and was funny too! When we asked for our check she said in total Terminator style, "I'll be back." So many bonus points for that. She split our checks without us asking too, though we didn't need it, it was a nice gesture. We are all in the industry and felt her so refreshing for Linda's and the city of Seattle in general. Some people just drop your food and go with barely eye contact. This girl is doing it right. Thank you Claire for making our experience golden-the food was also super tasty also. Ps, the blonde door gal was great as well. I have in the past sworn off this place for being so uninterested in their customers, but with a simple cloning of Claire, all shall be well.

Great atmosphere and patio behind the bar! They even have the heat lamps going when it's cold. This place has a late happy hour that serves up great priced beers, so this is the perfect spot to go when other happy hours end. I found out about the happy hour with the cocktail compass app on my phone.

This is really simple. Do you want a dive bar with great music, good vibes, a pool table you'll love to hate, great burgers and fries (love the fries), always has people inside, allows you to smoke in their patio, pours stiff cheap drinks, and bouncers/bartenders that remember your name and face? Go. This has been my go-to bar since I moved to Seattle and, for me, will always embody the spirit and vibe of the city. Go. Seriously go. It's a place that defies expectations and let's you get loose. Like an old friend.

My first experience here was......interesting..... I got several offers to go to the bathroom to engage in some "fun"....who knew Linda's back patio became a mini-Vegas!! But that happened back when smoking indoors was still legal, which was sooo long ago. Doesn't happen so much nowadays, so as Sean Connery said in The Rock, "Maybe I'm losing my sex appeal." One night, I stood outside Linda's front entrance looking for the flashing sign that said "Hipsters Especially Wanted!" Inside, it was flannel/tight jeans central, and I felt well out of place. My friend and I sat down, and we could barely hear each other because we were amidst a chatter of the current SAM exhibition, a critique of Portishead's greatest hits, all while sipping on gin and tonic fizzes. Yikes. To shake things up, I often hit up the jukebox and piss the audience off by blasting Judas Priest's "You've Got Another Thing Coming" or Metallica's "Ride The Lightning." The looks I get - well, not the most evil, but it resembles a sort of a"You'd better switch to Modest Mouse or Arcade Fire IMMEDIATELY" look. The drinks are pretty standard, but that's not a bad thing. I am always able to find my Jameson, and they've got some decent beers on tap. For food, I've tried their burger and fries, so I can't offer any deep insights here. Linda's biggest assets are the happy hour, their back patio (not necessarily related to my story above ;-) ) that is really good for summer night gatherings, and the divey atmosphere that is most appropriate for a 21st birthday celebration. As my rating says, A-OK.

This is my every Sunday spot. If I have friends in town or want to meet someone for a drink, it's at Linda's. I don't ever ever feel unwelcome, uneasy, or out of place. Killer prices on beer although I haven't tried the food. Usually by the time I hit Linda's it's on a full stomach. Love it here, can't say enough nice things!

Linda's has become our place. My partner and I are now non-drinkers, and it's so hard to find a tavern that gives great service to us because we don't want cocktails. I'm looking at you, Lost Lake! What's irritating about that is we still eat, we still bring friends with us who are drinkers, and we're still customers. Linda's gets it. They get it every time. Every single time we come in, we're treated like a guest, the way restaurants used to be but somehow seem to have forgotten on the hill. Thanks, guys!! (oh, and the food and prices are pretty good too;-)

A couple friends and I grabbed brunch here one Sunday. We were a little iffy, because Linda's doesn't catch your eye when you first walk past - a little grungy. I've heard good things from peers, and decided to give it a shot - It was GREAT. The service was mediocre, but we went for the food! Which did not disappoint. I ordered hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy - the best "diner" breakfast I've ever had. You know - sort of greasy and stuff, but it was delicious. Rival to Beth's (actually, better), which is already a Seattle staple. To boot, prices were cheap - fantastic. Definitely recommend. We got seated right away as well, and food came out mildly quickly.

I really like Lindas. They have one of my favorite bar patios in seattle which makes for a great hangout spot on pleasant nights. The food is usually good, and MOST of the staff is pleasant. But the reason my review is not higher is due to the ineffective way in which the place is run. There seems to be a lot of miscommunication happening which is understandable in a bar environment. But there is one serve in particular who is a complete butt head. He has helped me and my friends several times and rude does not come close to describing him. He is short, blunt, unhelpful, unpunctual, and irritating. I've had him literally throw things across the table at me rather than trying to walk a little closer to set it down. If we aren't ready to order he walks away without a word and doesn't come back for 20 minutes. He gives off the distinct impression to me that he hates his job and couldn't care less about providing a pleasant experience. His behavior as a waiter is unacceptable and downright embarrassing. My review for Linda's will stay at 3 stars until this kind of treatment of customers is mended.

I hate this bar. Never know why my friends love it. It's full of hipsters who are douche bags with douche bartenders who act like your order is an inconvenience. It's dark and dirty. Every table is always wet, only 1 stall in the bathroom, the outside bar is never utilized. Hate it.

I'd give this a lower score, except our server, Christian, was so great and attentive. His service was great and none of my party of 6-8 were ever without. Also, the mac & cheese with bacon was super good. However, upon arriving with my dog after a long drive on a 75° + day, I went straight to the patio. There were at least 5 other dogs out there. I asked the first server I saw if there were any bowls of water for dogs and he said no, that they didn't do that, and didn't have bowls. Besides, he said, they only allow service dogs. Mine is just as much a service dog as any of the other 5 dogs that were there, and an establishment that does allow dogs should at least have some bowls of water on the patio. I eventually talked him into bringing me anything for water, and he brought an empty square paper to-go container.

Hipster dive bar. No TVs. Brunch review: great assortment of omelette scrambles and Huevos rancheros plates for under $10. However go big with the steak and eggs, flat iron cut perfectly cooked, one of best I've had at brunch.

I am rarely moved to write a Yelp review, but someone who works here was such a dick to my friend and me, it was noteworthy. When we arrived, we evidently bypassed (unintentionally) the host sign. No more than 10 seconds after heading outside, where we were standing, some asshole came out and reprimanded us. "You completely disregarded the please wait to be seated sign! You'll have to go back and stand there and then we will seat you!" Oh, rly? The attitude was incredible. I work in a far nicer restaurant than this joint, and I would never speak to someone so rudely. Sorry, buddy--but I'm glad you had an outlet to awkwardly unleash your bizarre power trip.

Linda's is one of the most colorful places on the Hill. It's the place where you go in and see some of the more swankier side of Seattle. And here's a bit of local folklore for you: Linda's is known to be the venue where Kurt Cobain was last publicly seen (before some whore murdered him). PARKING: Street parking. Nuff said. VENUE: This single story masonry building was built in 1927. The building is right on the sidewalk and there is seating along the windows so that you can look at the foot traffic going up and down Pine St. PATIO: Yeah, buddy. This is one of the coolest spots on the Hill. It's fully enclosed, so you don't really get a view of the surroundings other than a few neighboring buildings towering overhead. AMBIENCE/DECOR: This is a swanky spot in town. It's more than just a hipster scene. This place is filled with people who each have their own flair and aren't trying to be anyone else other than themselves. Lots of rustic bric-a-brac fill the inside and outside. Most of the time you're there it's Indie music. FOOC: The food is basic bar food. But it tastes good. Don't expect to come here looking for gastropub food. You're finding nachos, burgers, omelettes...nothing unusual. Except for the Buffalo Mary (bloody Mary served with a stick of buffalo jerky). BOOZE/BEER: Not the best selection of beer. You won't find the 25-year old Lagavulin here. But you're not coming here to be a snob; this is very much Capitol Hill folks who don't give a shit about what cask the beer or whiskey sat in. Asides from the beer selection, everything else about this place makes it very fun for me to go. Linda's is definitely one of the best dives on the Hill.

Came here for brunch this past Sunday about 11:30am...if you show up past this time, just be prepared to wait for a table if you have a group over 2 people. We ordered a large pitcher of mimosas ($20) and then placed our orders for food. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros (like $8-9) and my friends got the migas and I think the chorizo plate (I can't really remember!). Anywho, the food did take quite a while to come out, maybe almost 25 minutes or so, but we didn't mind too much since we had plenty of mimosas to sip, water and conversation to bide our time. Once the plates came out, they were pretty big and my food was hot and very good. The hash browns, unfortunately, looked a bit like they had come out of a box, but with some hot sauce dashed on top, they were decent. The music played overhead at Linda's is usually my favorite part, just songs you wouldn't necessarily hear at any other place while eating brunch. Overall, once we sat down and then our food came out, this place was still pretty good, our server was nice, and I'm sure I'll be back again for brunch or just a drink. We also walked here, but parking looked pretty full on the streets at the time, so just plan accordingly if you're driving over.

I'd give Linda's five stars if their dinner menu was as good as their weekend breakfast! If you go in nice weather ask to sit on the patio but the boothes are also comfortable. You can bring Fido to Linda's with you which is fun.

Linda's bloody mary is absolutely wonderful. We came here for hangover/post-party breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were seated by the door and under the a/c vent which made it a bit chilly. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast, which came with 2 eggs, hash browns and toast. The chicken fried steak had soft mushy breading that I found odd (chicken fried steak should be crispy), and had a very unusual cream (almost alfredo like) gravy hybrid sauce on top that was very tasty. The steak itself was very fatty, which I have serious texture issues with. I only ate about half of it. The hash browns and scrambled eggs on the other hand mixed with the gravy were super tasty. I noticed halfway through breakfast that my toast didn't come buttered, but instead came with butter on the side, at which point my toast was cold and the butter I so feverishly slathered on it wouldn't melt. Sigh. Overall, it was a great hangover breakfast. I will be returning for more bloody mary salvation.

Their Saturday morning brunch is delicious. We ordered the $20 mimosa pitcher (well worth it), Monte Christy Sandwich, Short Stack pancakes, and the Rio Grande Omelet. Everything tasted so good and came out hot and fresh. Next time I come to the Capitol Hill area I will eat here again.

This might be the most popular dive bar in all of Seattle as the rumor is that this is the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive. Anyway, the crowd here tends to 20-30 somethings who like 80's pop, punk rock and metal (great juke box btw). Linda's has a pool table, a huge back patio and an outdoor bar too. I prefer coming during the week when the crowd is smaller and older.

A fun dive bar with great beers/cider on tap! There's also a pool table that's super dingy but fun! The crowd is also very eclectic and you'll definitely have an interesting and great night, if you decide to stop in/end your night here!
