Great service, and some of the best gyros I've ever had.

One Gyro. $6.49 after tax. That is a not bad at all for lunch. Not bad at all. Pretty clean enviroment and it wasn't packed at all when I went in for lunch (12-1). Wasn't a blow your mind away gyro, but I mean I ate it all and enjoyed every bite. It certainly had flavor and great texture. Sometimes you get gyros that just feel...weird in your mouth. It's my backup for when I need a quick bite or don't want to spend a ton on lunch

I used to be a fan of another Mediterranean place near Pioneer Square, but some coworkers and I ventured over to Gyro House for a change of pace. AND, I'm so glad we did. Gyro House now holds my #1 spot for gyros in ID or Pioneer Square. Their salads are really tasty, meat is always well seasoned, service is friendly and fast. Plus, if you have to do takeout, they have a nice little waiting area with magazines to flip through - nice. Portions and quality seem right on for $8. Only downside - fries (with the lunch special) are sometimes a little cold. But, seriously, it's a Mediterranean place. Eat the pita, not the fries.

Ohhh so yummy. My only complaint is that it had too much meat. Oh wait, that's not a complaint! That's an anti-complaint! The pita was wonderful. The gyro (combo of beef and lamb together) was altogether addicting. Scrumtrulescent.

You'll walk in, order and pay at the counter, and find a table. You'll grab your own napkins and silverware around the corner. They play the smooth Jazz station...reminds me of the dentist. The food portion is huge; you might want a to-go box. The tables are clean and the guy at the counter is friendly. The atmosphere is clean and uncluttered. It's definitely better than Main St. Gyros. Same quality of Zaina's. More expensive than Mediterranean Mix.

Had a falafel sandwich here, and they made it extra crunchy by putting fries in it! The only drawback here is that you have to bus your own table, but for about $10 for two sandwiches, it's not that surprising. I would probably only go here for lunch and not dinner, as it is in a shady bit of downtown, and I imagine the street is pretty empty at night, with no businesses across the way either.

I've eaten here several times over the last few years because it's close to my office. I keep hoping it will be good, but it never is. The Falafel are hard greasy little rocks which will inevitably cause gastric distress. The lamb is tough. The flavors are uninspired. If you're really hungry, it's food, but there are so many better options nearby, why waste your time and money?

I can't say much about the gyro since I don't eat that but if you want a falafel sandwich don't come here. It was so incredibly terrible... the pita bread was stale and fell into pieces so badly that I had finish it with a fork! The falafel was also soggy as was the french fries they put in it ... never ... again....

I ordered a Jumbo Gyro hold the Tzatziki and Feta. The menu said that the Jumbo Gyro had Hummus on it, so when I asked for Hummus the person who took my order told me that it was Tzatziki or Hummus and I had to ask for the Hummus.... So he took my Gyro back into the Kitchen and it took him about 5 minutes to bring it back to me with Hummus glopped on the top of it. The meat was the dried out end pieces that were hard and hurt my teeth. I would give this place a 0 if I could.... I had go to a better Mediterranean place the Next day for Makeup Mediterranean this place is that bad.

Pretty good I guess. A little on the greasy side. Convenient lunch spot. Staff is polite and always quick. Prices seem just a bit too high.

I went on an impromptu Seattle trip with one of my good friends and we stumbled upon this place. I. AM. SO. HAPPY. I love hole in the wall type places that you semi wonder from the surroundings/upkeep of the building if you are going to have a hard time later. Well, I love them when you get delicious food! I'm happy to report that not only did we get a ton of delicious, non greasy, cooked fresh plates of goodness, but I also want to marry the man who made them for us. If only to eat this deliciousness every day for the rest of my life! ;) I look forward to visiting and eating this deliciousness again in the near future. We ordered the gyro wrap, hummus, and a gyro plate. As much as I want to try other things, it was too delicious and I'd do it all again.

Beware, Gyro House ratings are mostly from before it had changed. The new management took over and this place is way different now. I thought this placed sucked. It was not bad enough for a one-star because the service was friendly. It's just that they didn't have much and it was way over priced. I think it is under new ownership or management. This would be a breezy spot if they would clean the place up make it more inviting. I would totally hang out with the people that work there, but the restaurant is simply, blah.

I placed an order for delivery (for a board meeting) well over 3 days in advance and the order was almost an hour late. Not only did they not inform me that the order would be delivered late, but they wouldn't offer any kind of discount after the fact. Definitely never ordering from here again.

Food: Four stars. Everything else: Two. I walked in, there was nobody at the front counter. Several minute later, somebody showed up but couldn't take my order until several minutes after that when she finally found a pen. Everything about the place looks grungy, grimy, decrepit, beat looking. The walls are cracking, the speaker cones on their boombox sound system are crumbling. The sign outside is falling down. The floor and tables look worn out. The general look of the place almost says that somebody started off with great intentions, and then sort of gave up. With all this in mind, I was pleasantry surprised when my food finally showed up. I had the veggie moussaka. The moussaka was stellar, but the rice was alternatingly fluffy and clumpy, like it had been scraped from the bottom of the pot. The salad looked and tasted great. I noticed that the guys who came in after me ordered gyros and got their food a lot quicker. I'd probably go that route next time.

Right next door to our old apartment. Literally a few steps away. Heavenly food! Great service! Had the veggie falafel sandwich. Best falafel ever.

No. Just no. Bland. The meat tastes old. The French fries were soaked in grease, I only ate a few and I'm still paying for it hours later. The restaurant is very dirty, dirty napkins hiding in corners, dirty tables and ripped booth seats, I feel dirty just being in there. Just too many other options for lunch. The staff is very nice and I wish them the best.

Let me make one thing clear...I really do love this place but need to comment on my last visit in the hopes that the situation won't happen again. Went in for lunch with one of my work mates. Stood in line waiting to order. Noted that cashier was having issues with register. Cashier asked us what we wanted and we gave her our order. She did not take money. She turned in our order and we waited (and waited for her to ask to take our money). We then got back in line and when we got to her we asked for her to take our money. She then ran back and checked on order. ...and we waited and waited. She walked by us with our order and took it to another table. Anyhoo we order Shwarma and Jumbo Gyro We weren't asked about the sauce that should be on Shwarma. Both items in spite of it all were delicious...but waiting almost 25 minutes for our food (and being given the food in to go packaging when we asked for a sit down order) was very frustrating...and this is a place that I truly do love. I will absolutely be back....and hope...it won't be a repeat...it can't...it won't...I have faith in you Gyro House.

Best in the west A good friendly staff nice place with a lot of room to move park nearby and the price that's you can't beat which's good for the recession time!

The fries are average, but the gyro was delicious. Still pretty busy around the end of lunch rush hour. Dang that gyro was delicious. The restroom needs some work... I think it was out of towels and soap. When you eat inside, despite how spacious it is and upstairs and stuff, you will see a diverse crowd.... and, Oh. No, a family sat across from me who's toddler loved playing drop-their-food-on-the-floor-because-it's-fun. Dang that gyro was delicious. Also select wall locations showing the Free WiFi details and number. Rather messy bussing action. Be patient when waiting during busy rushes. And dang, that gyro was delicious.

The service here is... odd. I've had nice people who ring up orders wrong, people who are pretty "meh" about working and show it, and then there's the guy who made me not want to go back. On my fifth or sixth visit, two of my friends and I were eating our meals and (mid-meal!) an employee came over and asked me to talk to technical support for him. I felt way too awkward to say no, so I did it. And I ended up not finishing my food because I had to run back to work after spending time with tech support. Not my favorite lunch hour memory. It was just weird. Other than that -- the falafel sandwich is good.

Starting with 3 stars: +1 for location: Very close to my office. An easy walk unless its raining. +1 for flavor/quality: The food is flavorful and nicely prepared. Orders come with fries which seem a little odd, but I'm a big fan of fries so I'm not going to complain about that... -1 for price: As others have stated the prices here are a little on the high side. You can get the same food at a number of other locations for less money. Quality may or may not be as high at those other places. NOTES: It gets a little busy during lunch rush so you can expect to wait in line. You also have to bus your own table and orders come on paper plates so this isn't fine dinning by any length of the imagination.

Best gyro I've had in a LONG time. The gentleman who works there is so awesome and friendly. He cooks everything as soon as you order it. The falafels are great, too.

Best hummus ever period! i tried hummus at every Mediterranean place and this is far the best one because they make it fresh daily. The sweet old man that looks like a teddy bear apparently been cooking his whole life and he said he's retired but work for fun now that's really cool. I tried the chicken shwarma sandwich, garlic fries ( oh my goddddd its orgasmic if you like fetta chesee and garlic obviously) and the gyros salads are yummy. The only thing is it gets packed during lunch hour at times so you have to wait and you have to bus your own table but its understandable its not a restaurant. Oh and the service is great, they have an Asian girl( she's really nice and hilarious ) and the other guy is pretty friendly too. They are always laughing and stuff it nice atmosphere. Oh my god i almost forgot the veggie plate for vegetarians must try!!

Met with a customer there. Location is good for the customer and I'm sure that plays into their business. I tried the chicken kabobs, and they were ....unpleasant. But the rest of my party had the Gyros (duh, it's the Gyro house) and they were pleased. I'll stick to the typical fare next time. Oh, and don't forget to bus your own table.

I work near by, so end up going here when I am tired of the Asian places in ID. I stick to the chicken gyros, and they are certainly good. I've had better hummus than what they serve there and the pita bread is a little cold. The place is run of the mill, simple place with ample seating and friendly staff. It is a little pricey, but it's a welcome change and stands out from all that ID has to offer. The location is weird and I assume they close at 6 once the offices nearby close, I can't imagine me going there late just because it is so isolated and in an empty part of town.

    1. Location (3 of 5) - Their location is so-and-so, I won't be surprised if they'll have a few customers because it's more than a hundred meters walk from the closest business offices there. But I do hope that wouldn't cause them to close, they're good. I can't comment on the parking because I usually go there if I go by bus. 2. Environment (4 of 5) - Their place is a little bit run-off-the-mill. The place is something that you would expect a middle class family/business home would look like in 3rd world countries; no sufficient lighting, the ventilations are ceiling fans, and the air-conditioner is poor... but the magic of it, you get this authentic feeling of ethnic presence, that's why I give a 4 of 5. 3. Food preparation (5 of 5) - Of all Gyros I've tried in the Seattle/Bell area, they have the most 'accessories' that comes with the plate. Flavored rice, the feta sauce (I don't know what it's called), Hummus with an olive and olive oil dressing, vegetables, well cooked lamb/beef, the pita bread, are all awesomely arranged in a sizable plate. 4. Food taste & flavor (5 of 5) - Just as I described earlier, it's one of the best tasting Gyros around. It's flavorful, the spices are just right, it's not oily, and it's not too salty either. 5. Price (3.5 of 5) - Well, because the food is so good, I can accept the price of more than $10. Yes, it's not that cheap. If you're in a budget, you might want to go somewhere else. 6. Employees (4 of 5) - They're not very well dressed, which I really don't mind. They don't have waiters, and most of the time I order straight on the cashier and then get a table, but they don't mind serving the food to your table once it's ready. They're nice and friendly, and they put up a good conversation. (Mistook me once as a Greek man, haha!) ...Simply put, the best gyros In Seattle. For now.

Came here for a falafel gyro and shelled out the extra few bucks for a combo w/ drink and fries to go. The gyro oddly had some undercooked fries in with the falafel, I thought it might have been a mistake before seeing other reviews mention the same. The gyro was low on total falafel content as well, I would have happily substituted more falafel for the undercooked fries. The fries are typical frozen fries, and lack the added feta you'll find a Main St Gyros. I far prefer the falafel sandwich at near by Main St Gyros. Though Gyro House does have a better sit down environment if that is what you're looking for.

I work near here and stopped in for lunch. Falafel wrap is wonderful and inexpensive. It is a massive wrap, stuffed full of goodies for less than $8.00 - outstanding. Great place for lunch if you work near by.

If you work near the market you have a few options for Mediterranean style food, I usually go to Mr. D's Greek Delicacies or Falafel King to satisfy my cravings. When you work down in the ID this place, The Gyro House, is the place to go and they have Halal meats and lots of vegetarian items. I walked in wanting a chicken gyro but the day I went they weren't available so I decided on the falafel plate. It came with five balls, yes five balls people that's a lot of balls if you ask me. OK five balls, hummus, pita, rice and a small Greek like salad. It was all fresh and tasty and the rice had this unique flavor to it like they used cinnamon, cumin and maybe coriander in it, OK I could totally be wrong because I'm no spice/taste expert but those are the flavor it tasted like to me. The falafel plate was so huge I had three balls and lots of rice to take back to work with me and have for lunch the next day and they weren't too bad, balls have never microwaved well for me I don't think they were meant too. If you work down near the ID and looking for Mediterranean food go here but go early like I did because once noon hit the line was heading out the door to order.

Some very yummy kebabs, falafel, and fattoush. The hummus could be slightly improved upon.

Out of all the Gyro places I've been to in Seattle this is by far my favorite one! I like everything from the Gyro to the Hummus! However my favorite all time thing is the Combo plate! It has Lamb and Chicken Rice hummus Dolmas and all the other Greek goodness! Yum!

Nicely located near my office right past Yesler, Gyro house provides decent gyro's in a city that really isn't know for decent gyros, or anything Middle Eastern really. I usually get the Beef or Lamb Gyros (Chicken gyros, people, really?) and it hits the spot, the beef is delicately seasoned, kinda spicy a little sweet. The tzatziki sauce is on point not too sour or pungent, and they have the best grilled pitas I've run into in awhile. Strangely enough, there isn't one greek, or other Middle eastern person that works here, I have no idea how they make it so good?

  • Charla M.

Gyros are delicious, very good seasoned meat, fresh crisp lettuce and tomatoes, fries were soggy and gross, says greek style fries so I dunno... But the gyros is good.

I eat at this place a few times a month since it's near work. It's a great place, they're fast and they make great gyros. I've only tried the gyros and so far I've never had a bad experience. People that work there are very friendly. Also, if you are a muslim, all the meat is halal (it's like muslim kosher :o) )
