My wife and I took in the place on one of our Urban Hike on the recommendation of a friend. I cannot believe I had never stumbled in here before (actually I can -- it is tucked away in a pretty hidden part of Seattle). It is a good as advertised: Simple food made well; Good Beer on the chalk-board; Good cider as well; Emphasis on regional offerings. Very pleasant patio for sunny days. I was a little shocked when I got an email from my AA-Rewards Network to "rate my dine" with them, because in my mind, that usually means that they need to drum up business in a hurry --- like the last stop before GroupOn and oblivion. I would be terribly disappointed should this place close. It is one of the more charming neighborhood pubs than I've seen in Seattle. The staff are friendly, the locals seem to like it, and it has been something of an institution in the space for at least 10 years as far as I can tell, and perhaps much longer. I hereby resolve to try to make the effort to get out there more often.

Fun little bar and pizza place, we just happened to stumble upon after a party in Lake Shitty. Nice hole in the wall welcoming place. They have Tuesday Hot wing night, trivia nights last Tuesday of the month, wIth Trivial Dave the HOST MASTER! Fun local people are friendly at the newbies like me coming in to check out the just happened upon joint!

Nice beer list, decent food and great service... Cool patio that lets dogs run around. Come here...

If you are biking on the Burke Gilman, as we were, it is worth peddling up 95th for the reward of getting to the Fiddler's Inn. Very charming and small, with a nice selection of beers on tap. Careful down the hill on your way back to the trail!

I love this place. The beer list is original and ever changing, the atmosphere is open and fun. Great little neighborhood spot.

It's a fun, homey little pub with table service, even. There's apparently a lot of competitions about who can drink what beers and you mark it off on tickets. It's a lucky thing I don't live within two thousand miles. It wasn't that crowded when I was there, but it was the day after Christmas.

You wouldn't guess by looking at the outside that this is a great place! Good food (not pub food) and there's usually some meat being smoked on the BBQ. It gets a local restaurant crowd more than a pub crowd. It's kind of loud. Good beer selection. I'm glad it's in out neighborhood! Yum!

I've been to this place once, and it already feels like olden days to me. Some places just slip over your feet like old slippers, set you down, and make you comfortable. Fiddler's is such a place. Add to that the fact that I have been meaning to try this place for nearly a quarter-century and it was probably inevitable. 94th and 35th really isn't an intersection that bustles like mad, but getting here is pretty straightforward, since they're both major arterials (er, well, 95th and 35th both are). There is, in fact, a decent-sized fire station right across the street from Fiddler's. Between people parking along the street, and the sirens, living here must get kinda noisy at times. There are tidily-kept and very tall hedges shading Fiddler's back from the street, creating a nice sense of privacy and getaway. There's a grandfathered old neon sign shaped like a fiddle over the front door on 35th. You walk in the front door, and it pulls a rope that raises and lowers a little violin back by the kitchen. This does not seem to alert the staff or anything, but maybe it's some kind of secret signal. In any case, it's one of those amusing little touches that great neighborhood watering holes accumulate through the years. And the years really do matter here. Those hedges didn't just get planted last season. That's advanced landscaping that can only happen over time. This place has been around since 1980 (I think). Virtually all of that time, they have been a friend to the beer industry, serving kegs from small independent brewers, spreading the word about what's happening in the craft beer revolution since back when the craft beer revolution was scarcely more than a couple underground splinter cells on the west coast (and a couple other places). Now the revolution has taken down the walls around the multi-nationals, and soon the castle will be ours. Like a wise old resistance commander, Fiddler's holds sway over its hot corner, surveying the progress. They're still serving beers from the smaller locals breweries, digging up interesting pints you might not get most other places. They have a few bottles, I think, and some wine, I imagine. I focused entirely on the taps. Had a solid gose from NW Peaks--they've only done one or two beers better than that. It's so cool that a style like gose that was almost extinct 10 years ago is now widely brewed in the States (Germany never let up on it completely, but even Germany was producing less and less, and exporting none, as of a decade ago). Now a decent anglo ale brewery like NW Peaks has a solid gose to offer. That's outside their comfort zone, but they're rocking it. And guess where you can get a pour? As of last night Fiddler's (naturally) had it pouring through one of their faucets. They have pizzas, sandwiches, some mountainous nachos, and other tasty-looking pug grub on offer. I will be back for some of that for sure. Finally crossed this place off my to-do list, where it's been sitting since before I was old enough to drink. Back then, I had a fraternity brother a few years ahead of me who bartended here. I always swore to come in and have a pint when I could. No idea where that guy ended up in life, but I'll be back in here soon, tipping him or whoever it is behind the bar next time.

The beer and wine selection is awesome here but there is no full bar. The food is generally good for pub food but if you are gluten free or have any other dietary restaraints, there may not be too many options for you. One issue I have is that there are only a few handwritten menus available so if they are all in use when you come in, you either have to walk up to the bar to get what you want or wait for the other guests to be finished.

Beer and wine only - but great selection of beers! Sister pub to Latona and Hopvine, so always happy to support them! Great pub food selection - mostly pizzas and some killer nachos. Haven't tried more than that. There's a nice, protected outdoor patio, but it closes really early because of neighbors (interesting story there - a previous employee moved in, quit, and then now complains about noise. WTF) but the inside is huge, full of beautiful wood and the staff is really friendly! I like how the ladies bathroom has a chalkboard. This is conveniently located near Nathan Hale, so after soccer games our whole team can roll up together and have a pitcher! Wish I lived closer, if bike there every day!

Lucky for me, this is the neighborhood bar. The beer selection is well-curated but often IPA heavy. If that's your thing, great, but I usually shoot for one of their alternatives (typically there's a good one available). Despite that, the ambiance is exactly what I like in a neighborhood spot: wooden and worn. There are tables outside for the good days, and plenty of beer inside for the bad ones. Generally a good selection, and a great atmosphere. Either way it's down the street, so they've got me hooked. PS If the conversation dies down, there are a handful of old board games in the cabinet by the back door. Not a bad way to pass the time.

I really want to like this place more than I do, but the problem I have with it is the quality of their food. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, there is a great beer selection to choose from and the environment of the restaurant is warm and inviting. But, I'm never truly satisfied with the meal I order. This place has become a great spot to grab a couple beers before or after dinner.

  • G M.

This place has a great beer selection, especially if you are an IPA fan. The ambiance is great, lots of wood, lots of windows and thus daylight. Service isn't particularly fast or kind, but they have their own kind of charm. so far so good, but by god do they need to update their menu, or at least update the sourcing of ingredients. Everything here seems to come from a bag or a box...so much potential, but the food is so mediocre.

This place is great. The food is good, especially the pizza, and the beer selection is stellar. The servers are polite and attentive. It's a place I would frequent more but there is only so much beer and pizza one should eat in a month!

  • J S.

The pub itself is cool and had a nice local feel. I think the pizza could use an upgrade. Crust tasted frozen and the sauce was bland. I ordered for pick up so I may have had a different experience then if I had dined in. Staff was friendly on the phone and when I picked up the pizza.

The biggest complaint about Fiddler is their beer selection. It's so dark beer and IPA heavy. The food is great for pub food--hummus plate is very good, love the viola pizza, and my soccer team loves the Firehouse nachos. Just consider the cranky waitress as part of the charm of the place--don't take it personally.

A comfortable neighborhood pub. They always have a nice selection of beers. Can't decide? The waitstaff is quite knowledgeable and will offer suggestions, and provide samples to aid in your decision making. The food menu has many tasty offerings, my favorites are the Fire House Nachos and the pizza! If it's a busy night you may have to wait a while, but that's what the beer is for. I usually go here with friends, but as a single lady would never feel uncomfortable stopping here solo.

This place quickly become one of my favorite Seattle alehouses. Of the 3pub trio (Latona Pub, Hopvine Pub, and this one) Fiddler's Inn is easily my favorite. PARKING: A few spots on the side, street parking in a residential neighborhood. Of the 3pubs, this is the easiest venue to visit. OUTSIDE: I normally don't mention the outside of an establishment, but the landscaping really is worthy of mention. There is a narrow walkway along the north side where you can drag your hand across the pruned Mexican lime shrubs and get a refreshing smell. It looks more like a brunch spot than it is an alehouse. INSIDE: The decor goes all over the place. The wooden pilings and ceiling is a bit simplified. If you can zone out the rest of the place, it could pass for something you see in a sushi bar. The picnic bar tables greatly contribute to the amount of wood inside, so you're in for a treat if you like wood. PATIO: Picnic table seating gives a great opportunity to ask the stranger next to you, "how the heck are you?" I really like the hop vine overhangs and am looking forward to seeing the growth progression. Looking towards the west side of the roof with all of the wooden shingles (the whole building exterior, really) gives a bit of a shack look and has me wanting to ask for jambalaya or grits. DOGS: Yup, you can bring your other loved one here on the patio. SERVICE: I don't get the bad reviews over service. The staff is very friendly. I wouldn't call it exceptional, but I think the previous reviews are unfair to the overall service I get here. FOOD: I had their Greek pizza and was very pleased with it. The ingredients are fresh, tasty, and the thin crust did what it should do: hold up. I haven't had anything else, but will update this review as I try other dishes. BEER: The selection is great. 11 taps and they seem to be consistent in covering the wide beer spectrum. I started coming here in the summer. I'm really looking forward to the winter here.

I have eaten at this place at least 15 times because it is in my neighborhood. I have tried very hard to like it. The food is ok. Actually some of the food is fair and some is average. I would say the pizza is the only thing above average and the beer selection is excellent if you like IPA's. The salads are ok and the rest of the menu I would pass on. The problem with this place is the service and the attitude. It's not just that they could care less, they have actually told me on more than one occasion that they don't care and if I want anything different to go somewhere else. I have heard them say the same thing to numerous other people too. The place is busy so I guess they feel like they don't need to be nice. They kind of have this personality (if restaurants have personalities) of being rude and proud of it. I am just done. If the food was super cheap or delicious I might put up with the attitude... but it's not cheap or delicious... I'm just sick of handing my money over to snotty nosed wait staff who think they are soooo Seattle cool but are just actually rude.

Fiddler's Inn is my favorite neighborhood pub. Great food (the firehouse nachos are amazing). It does get quite loud, but you're not trying to talk over loud music (unless there is live music) which is a plus. They have lots of IPAs generally, which are not my favorite, however, last time I was in they had a fantastic selection of dark beers in which all were very excellent! Plus they have some games... what more could a girl ask for?

An extremely cute place, however when stopping in for drinks with friends we were being oddly watched over by an older lady. Pretty sure she owns the place...but her presence was awkward, made us feel unwelcome and therefore we didn't stay longer than one drink.

The tall skinny blonde waitress is rude and loud. She steams when she talks .Know it all 20 something and talking down to all the patrons. She needs to go. And her laugh is just disgusting - she sounds like a barking pig. Sorry girl. Your not as hot as you think you are. The rest of the staff were great till she walked in.

Nondescript neighborhood pub that's decent for grabbing a friendly pint. As for the food, can't really recommend it unfortunately.

Fiddler's is such a great little neighborhood bar. The service has always been great and the beer is top notch. The pizzas are good as well and don't even get me started on the cookie boat! I don't get the complaints about the service here, I have always been treated well. You can't go here though if you are in a rush, its a mellow joint and a great place to grab a pint and kick back with friends. During the summer, the patio is really fun and the last Tuesday of every month they have a fun trivia night. I would highly recommend hitting this place up if you are in the area.

Fiddler's Inn is a great spot! The constantly rotating beer list is always full of awesome brews and at a reasonable price. I've eaten a few times and the food has always been good. The crowd is a good mix of of people - not a "hip" crowd, per se - but a good neighborhood bar. This is just a great place to grab a beer with a few friends. I'm really looking forward to being back when the weather is a bit warmer and the patio is open. Quick tip: The parking area is located to the north of the pub on 94th - but there is also plenty of street parking right on 35th.

My wife paid the tab. Soon afterward, while she was doing her check balances online, she discovered Fiddlers changed the total by $10 over. It took more than two months for management to respond! They made good by reversing the overage, and included a $20 gift card. But that was after many phone calls and hounding them on Facebook.

Let me start off by saying I have written bad reviews before and deleted them because I felt bad. I try to find the good in every restaurant whether it's food, server or atmosphere. This place on the other hand I will not ever delete. I have tried and tried to come here and leave with a good experience. I have been 4-5 times and every time I come I experience the worst most cringe worthy service I have ever had in my entire life. The best part is that there isn't a manager (that I know of) and no one gives a shit what their servers do or say. I have wished multiple times that I could have talked politely to a manager about the situation. My family friends are usually the only reason we go because they have been coming here forever. My last visit was the straw the broke the camels back. Arrived at 5:30 and the place was busy as usual, we found a spot outside and were shown the beer sign to select what we wanted to drink. Got a beer put in an order of Hummus early. Soon followed by ordering a salad and a Pan Pizza (says it takes 15 mins on the menu). As I start running low on my first beer my mom tries to politely get the attention of the server and asks if I can have another drink. She then replies rudely, "I'M TAKING AN ORDER RIGHT NOW!" then rolls her eyes unbelievably disrespectfully. Who talks to any human being like that let alone a customer. Disrespecting and making my mom feel stupid right in front of me. She comes back impatiently and says "What do you want?". 6:10 rolls around and I tell them that I ordered Hummus and it never came (40 minutes later I am a patient guy). As 6:40 rolls up my dad tells the server that we tried ordering hummus twice and it never came and says we've been waiting 45 minutes to an hour for it. She then yells "Food is taking 45 minutes right now". (It had been over an hour) This is the first I am hearing of this. He says "For a hummus plate?" "Yes for everything". 6:50-7 I want to leave because this is the 4th or 5th time I have come and been disrespected, snapped at, yelled at, or everything takes forever and I am telling my parents that we should just go somewhere else to eat when the Pizza comes out. Followed by the Salad five minutes later and then 5 minutes after that the hummus. I eat and ask if I can take one of the cars home by myself because I was so pissed/frustrated/disappointed. The whole thing was so uncomfortable just being there while someone talks so rudely and aggressively and is so inattentive. I would rather have sat at home and ate a frozen dinner then gone out to dinner. My parents friends apologized to us the next day and my parents and I decided we will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN because the service is so consistently terrible (timing, attitude and confrontation with guests multiple times). The best part is there isn't anyone you can even contact or speak with about how bad the service was and how terribly you are treated because if there is a manager I would be surprised because I have never seen him/her and the owner obviously doesn't care because he would have had to see how people are treated if he stepped foot in his own restaurant even once. Don't come here unless you want to feel like a hassle to the server and be treated like shit with poor service and rudeness.

Came here for pizza was was not disappointed! Fresh, crispy, flavorful pizza. All their pizzas had unique names, too. PIzza took a long time to come out, though. We were the only people there and the pizza just seemed forever to come out.

This was a cute little place my wife and I met our friends at. They had some good IPA's, but there was a woman that kept lurking around and after I had almost finished my drink, she came up and asked for my I.D. She kind of forced us to be done when she dropped off the check then asked if we needed anything else. I would go back and try it again, but that definitely made me a little uneasy.

My husband and I just moved to the area and tried this place out on a busy Saturday night. We came with my dad and a couple of his friends. We walked in and there were only two tables open, but they weren't next to each other. A nice woman greeted us and gave us suggestions about how to get a seat. We ended up sitting down at the table for two and the people next to us kindly offered to scoot down a table to let us all fit. The service we received was really good. I'm shocked reading some of these other reviews. Everyone was very friendly and pretty timely considering how crowded it was. The bartender (?) came over to take our drink orders and he was very knowledgeable. That night, I wasn't in the mood for beer, so I hesitantly ordered a glass of wine. I know, I can't believe I was that lady that ordered wine in a beer place! It was surprisingly good though! Everyone ordered sandwiches that all looked really good. My husband and I shared the cheesesteak. It was tasty. My only complaint is that I asked for my salad dressing on the side and it didn't come that way. I know, I know.... She ordered wine AND asked for her dressing on the side. :) All in all, I have to say that I enjoyed myself and will be coming back!

The Fid is to Wedgewood what The Roanoke is to north Capitol Hill. It's the kind of local watering hole every neighborhood should have. Pizza is the best thing on the menu, but even the pizza is mediocre. Their food is so-so. The Fid has character though. It's a terrific spot with a relaxed, almost hippie-ish vibe. It's an awesome place to go with friends & grab a few pitchers of whatever's on tap.

Fiddler's Inn is a true local. Cozy and homey inside, with lots of wood, big windows and fun decorations, it's a casual and welcoming pub to visit on a rainy afternoon. The service is friendly and prompt, the beer selection is outstanding and the food is tasty. When we visited, we split a baked potato and a 10" pizza and had leftovers to take home. The boy killed time playing with a barrel of monkeys, and there are quite a few other board games for your entertainment while you wait for your food. I'm a fan.

Here is where I go for pizza when I'm in the pizza and beer mood. I have to say the pizza is well balanced with great crust and the sauce is zesty. My favorite is the stradivarius (plus mushrooms and black olives with change the fresh tomatos with sundried). The positives is a great pizza and a Washington-based brewery beer list that constantly changes. They have a outside beer garden that is great during the summer evenings as the sun is going down where you can bring groups and hang out; just like your backyard, if you have one. The negatives is the kitchen is small and first come, first serve so don't be in a hurry for food or service. The staff has their own pace and preferences as to the quality of service as this is neighborhood bar where locals are prioritized ahead of strangers. It can get loud from everybody talking and the accoustics. So, if you love to be pampered by service and a quiet calm place; don't go here. But, if you love pizza with great crust and toppings, WA beer, and lounging outside on a picnic table in the summer months this is the place.

Awful! Avoid avoid avoid. Staff is rude and plain stupid. Waited an hour for food - the place was almost empty.Food never came! I was told I didn't order anything. Got a half-assed apology, should have gotten free beer or something. Such a shame, the place has so much potential, management should be ashamed. I will never go here again.

The first time I went to this establishment i really liked it. However, the second time I went it really wore on me quite quickly. The food is fairly decent, I haven't had any issues with service. However, I am irritated by the fact that they only have IPA's pretty much. In their coming soon beers 2/3 beers were IPA's. Then almost everything on the list was either an IPA or a Pilsner. Seriously, what about Hefe's or stouts, or be really daring and have a Saison. I also felt really out of place with the crowd, so I guess if you are under 30 this might not be the place for you. Not really the bar's fault, but irritating nonetheless. I don't think I am going to be going back often.

This is a great neighborhood Alehouse, particularly if you like NW IPA's. If you like good intelligent conversation with a pint, this is your place.

I believe Fiddler's is a distant cousin of the Hopvine a la Capitol Hill and the Latona Pub a la Greenlake. Fiddler's offers a similar atmosphere of nice wooden decor, top notch beer selection, and occasional live acoustic. The crowd is a bit older that their cousins, but don't get me wrong, Fiddler's is a lively place and get packs shortly after 5pm most nights...but don't worry, old folks usually pack it in around 8pm so if you want a seat go later rather than earlier in the evening.

My husband and I have been frequenting this place since we moved to the neighborhood 5 years ago. Love it. Casual. Love the beer (always a couple of IPA options!), pizza, hummus plate, and quesadilla. The place can get really busy at times, and it can take a while to get food if it is packed. The servers are super casual, and usually very friendly. Best pub in the neighborhood.

I don't get to this neighborhood much, but perhaps I should start making an exception. This was a great stop off for lunch and a beer on a nice Washington sunny day. I love that they have an outdoor patio where you can soak up some sun. Looks like they do a weekly trivia and are participating in beer week this year as well, it has some shaded areas too for non sun lovers. I appreciate all the posters they have lining the walls about upcoming community activities to keep me occupied while I wait for the bathroom. I have decided I am in love with the garlic caper dressing and am certain I want to put it on all of my food in the future. Of course garlic and capers are two of my favorite flavors so this may not be for everyone, but truly it is quite good. I debated ordering extra food just so I could have some more dressing on it. I loved the variety of the menu, lots of different options from salad, to pizza, to burgers, to appetizers. My friend is in love with their black beans and could not stop talking about them, she must have spent 5 minutes trying to explain what makes them so tasty. I will certainly have to try them next time. They also had an impressive beer list.

I love this place. Laid-back. Great beer selection.( I agree with the previous review, heavy on the IPA,s, which I particularly like...so yippiee for me.) Really good pizza. Three of my favorite things! They even had a tempeh sandwich that sounded quite yummy. I am not sure why I always find it surprising to find veggie options on a menu, maybe all those years living Cincy.... The service was wonderful, genuinely nice.

This is a great local hangout in Wedgwood with a bar and OK food. I agree with the comments of many others -- it can be loud and service can be slow but I still think it's a great place for a pint and a bite and I meet friends there fairly frequently.

    (4)
  • Heidi S.

This is a great little pub with no pretense, great beers, and good food. The tap list is usually heavy on IPAs, which I love, and the turkey chutney sandwich is delicious. The pizzas are also worthwhile (and huge). The outdoor patio is set up with picnic tables and is a pleasant place to spend a summer afternoon with a good book or a few friends. The vibe inside and out is very laid back, so just try to relax and enjoy yourself if your server takes longer than usual to return to your table. This is the sister restaurant of Latona Pub (in Greenlake) and Hopvine (on Capital Hill), and has many of the same menu items, so if you like those places it's worth the trip to Wedgwood to try this one out.

Good beer line up and pretty good food. The pizza is good, but can be really doughy. The biggest issue I have is the time it takes to get the food. The staff is okay, nothing really bad for me, but nothing outstanding. Everytime I go I seem to forget just how long it takes to get your food, even if you are 1 of only 4 people in the whole place. When the place is packed, forget it. But like I said, the beer features some of the best breweries in the state.

I wanted to check this place out because I read a review that said the pizza was great ,so i had to check it out. The pizza was not thin but not deep dish. The sauce was good , but the crust was a little dry but overall it was very tasty . service was great but it takes time to get a pizza when it busy but its give you mire time to drink . oh yeah and the domestic beer is cheap for the people who like Coors Lite, Bud Light, and Miller Light. i love this Pub I wish it was closer to my house.

    (4)
  • Nina F.

Atmosphere of a warm neighborhood pub. Good beer selection and decent food. Service (especially for food) can be really slow. The place can also be pretty loud when it's full-- sometimes I've found it hard to have a conversation. Best with a group for beers. Nice outdoor area in the summer.

  • Kim P.

By far the best place to get great craft beer in the region (and I've tested over 200 bars in the region). This is the perfect, quaint neighborhood spot. When the sun is out, bring your dog and enjoy the deck. When it's raining outside, sit in and play cards with the region's greatest selection of microbrews. Absolutely no Bud, Coors, Miller, crap on tap.

fantastic little neighborhood pub. i don't even like beer and i find myself here all the time. great place to grab a pizza and a pitcher with friends. feels like a cozy log cabin and the outside area is just lovely in the summertime. the beer menu is an ever-changing list of microbrews. i asked for a light beer one day and the waitress said their lightest beer on tap was an IPA! their food is surprisingly good and the vibe is exceptionally relaxed and comfortable. i can't think of a less pretentious bar to hang out with good friends.

Yes, this place is comfy and small, with a good beer selection. But the service (especially the female waitstaff) can be RUDE and really act like they are doing you a huge favor by even showing up at your table. Last night a friend and I went in to have a beer. The server (who was also tending bar)mentioned a "cask" beer to my friend that was available. My friend said, "Oh, what is that like? The server replied that it was "hoppy." It turned out to flat and warm, My friend couldn't get anyone's attention, so she finally went to the bar and told the server, who replied that that is how cask beers are, and that she would not replace it, but would charge her for another one. My friend said, "I come in here all the time... you can't just give me something else?" Well, the answer was "NO." So I got involved when the server walked by, I was polite but firm and said that I thought we should just get a different beer, since we had no way of knowing what"cask" meant, we just thought it meant some kind of specially brewed beer, not flat and warm. She said we should have asked what cask meant, that was our responsibility, not hers. She argued over this beer for a while, finally VERY grudgingly agreed to replace it this"one time," stormed away, spilling beer on our table and taking her sweet time about cleaning it up. I waited tables for many years and would have never dreamed of behaving like that. If a customer asked me how something was, and there was a characteristic about it that was unusual, I would see it as my job to let them know. Certainly, I would never have rudely argued over it for so long, just because I didn't want to give in. Just get the customer another beer and shut the hell up about it! It is not my job to read up on how beers are brewed before I go out to have one. There are a lot of little pubs around Seattle, in fact another just up the street. Hey, Fiddler's Inn owners, you just lost my business, my friend's business, and everyone we would probably have brought in there in the future since we go out a lot in the neighborhood. There are a lot of people looking for work these days, get rid of the folks with the attitudes.

This little neighborhood pub has so much potential. The pizza was great the music was live, but the service is what blew it for me. I had to get up and go to the bar 5 different times because our table kept getting overlooked. Maybe we sat at a self-service table by mistake? And don't think your getting a break on the cover charge if nobody's taking $3 at the door, they just slap it on your tab at the end.

Great Beer. Better than average pub food. Slow and apathetic service. I live nearby an would hit this pub once a week. They have a very small kitchen and a very small pizza oven. So most of the food is of the cold variety. The hummus plate and the salads are great. Some nights they will have a pasta which is usually great. But overall the service just is not up to snuff. I have sat with an empty beer for quite a while on several occasions here.

This place is great - we recently moved to the area and it was just up the street from our new place. The environment is extremely comfortable and the staff is very friendly; for Halloween they even had free pumpkins to carve. The beer list is made up of mostly micro-brews which is a great way to find new beers. There isn't an item on the menu that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed from the pizzas to soups to salads.

Love this place! I don't know that it's a "destination" pub but if you live anywhere near it, it's a great, cozy restaurant/bar. The beer list is always long and full of great rotating drafts with lots of IPAs. Service is good, not great and the waits for pizza can get pretty long. But I will mention that the pizza is well worth the wait and I have never been disappointed. Oh, one warning, they have live music on the weekends so don't go on a Friday night and expect to not have to yell your conversations. It gets loud.

I have mixed-feelings about this place. It's the closest pub restaurant to our house, so it's nice in that respect. They have several good brews on tap and their pizza is actually quite good. On the one hand, there is this laid-back hippie feel, but there are also several TVs scattered around. So really, it's a great place for hippie sports fans to congregate. The place is frequently very crowded and noisy, especially if there is a local sports game being broadcast, so unless you like that sort of thing, I'd recommend trying it at off-hours. One of these nights, I'll have to come down for the live music. That might give me a new take on it. My true rating is 3.5, but since I can't do that, I'm rounding up to 4.

I would like to see some variety in their beer offerings. Enough with only serving hoppy ales. Not the best food, and not the best service.

Is there a lower rating than a 1 star? This place was TERRIBLE! The pizza was great but it took over 50 min to get it on a Thursday early evening. When we asked the waitress if it was coming soon, she snapped at us and made a snide comment. They were attentive to all other tables except ours...there was only 2 of us! If you like getting your head bit off by an overweight grouchy waitress that has a chip on her shoulder...this is the place, otherwise skip it!

Quintessential neighborhood pub, and one of the few that's smoke free. They even have live music outside sometimes during the summer. Good selection of Northwest brews, get it from the taps. The food is surprisingly good.

great beer and food. i got the toasted cheese on sourdough with spinach and red peppers (served with a side of pesto) and my boyfriend got the special - mac 'n' cheese. both were quite delicious. took us about 40 minutes to get our food though - it wasn't packed but most tables were filled.

Hands down the best aesthetics of any bar I've ever been in. Warm, cozy, and woodsy while the dull murmur of the other patrons fills the gaps. The outdoor beer garden is pleasant and features long pick-nick tables and a few Adirondack chairs. There is a solid revolving beer list and the bar staff are more than happy to explain what everything is and what their current favorites are. The pizza is great and comes out surprisingly fast. Also this is one of only a few places to offer a Muffaletta sandwich in town. Then provided you're not full from pizza, beer, or one of the great daily specials...there's the Chocolate Chip Cookie Boat. Prepare your pancreas for its journey to Valhalla and wave goodbye. Whether you're looking for a quiet lunch or step up from your typical night out, this is a great little place to bring a few friends, or to just hang out on your own.

Fiddler's Inn carries that "Cheers" feel... where everybody knows your name! So here's what stood out (pros and cons): - Extraordinary service from a woman that appears to be the "mama" of the joint. Lively, energetic, helpful and personable - Beer & Wine. No hard alcohol. Learned this after being shot down when ordering a moscow mule. Darn. - Good vibes. Family-like atmosphere in a way... and the restaurant really does seem like something nestled in a spot away from the big city. - Flavorful pizza.

Fiddler's Inn is quickly becoming our favorite local pub. It's neighborhoody, but not overly divey, and their rotating taps feature IPAs heavily. The tap selection as far as I've seen has been exclusively local, which I appreciate. I haven't tried the food, but that Mac & Cheese smells divide. They have a small stack of games and books to poke through, which feels homey and inviting. Though it's small, table service is available for pints, which is also, in my opinion, unnecessary but highly appreciated. The look of it, inside and out makes me smile. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and their patio. I love variety as much as the next reviewer, and don't drink just hoppy suds, but it's nice that Fiddler's has a style direction and I know what to expect when I go there. If I want to have a greater selection of styles, I'll go somewhere else. Fiddler's only has a few tap handles, and when I'm in the mood for some bitter brew I'll know where I'm going.

The Firehouse nachos are pretty dang tasty and make for some great grub when you're drinking a couple beers with friends watching a game. The atmosphere is loud, so don't plan on coming here to have a heart to heart. Expect friendly service, good food and a great selection of beers wrote on the wall in chalk.

Great beer list, homey feel, killer bartenders, and great pizza. Great happy hour beer prices as well ... and on occasion they throw down some great live music. Can't beat that!! Can get hella loud or packed ... but that's just cuz people are having fun.

I like the fiddler, I don't love it. It's just war too loud inside. I mean bars are supposed to be loud but not so much that you can't talk to people. They have good pizza but otherwise the food and apps especially are boring. Nice outside deck area.

I've been less than eager to try Fiddler's Inn, primarily on the basis of its looks: aging sign, overgrown/overplanted landscaping, and a small dirt/gravel parking area. Had I bothered to do my homework beforehand and discover that this is the same chain as Latona Pub & Hopvine Pub, I would have put those notions aside and made the trek across town sooner. I will also admit that even on entry, I was really praying that the décor was faux-dive and not dive-dive. But less than 3 minutes into warming my bar stool, I had a beer in my hand from the very friendly bartender, and my dining companion had already struck up a conversation with some of the equally friendly local color over a non-sports program showing on one of the flat screen TVs (the other TV had the game on). Nice menu with a good selection, and like its sister pubs, nothing deep fried available. A tasty and well priced Panini and sandwich later (that and probably a few too many pints, but hey, it was after noon and all), we're off for the rest of the day already in agreement that we'll be back sooner rather than later. Sometimes small things really stand out and give me a really good vibe about a place - here had two. The chef seems to really like food; almost every conversation he was having with folks that we overheard was food or garden related. Second, our bartender was reading during customer breaks. And I don't mean reading something trivial, I mean a very thick hardcover on a topic many might not just opt for as light reading. A place with people that are smart and like what they do - how can you go wrong?

Great little place to eat & drink. They have three bottled ciders including a blackberry apple that is delicious. The place has great ambiance, dimly but well lit, lots of windows. I think it was a house that was converted. Mostly table seating with a small bar. Clean bathrooms with a chalkboard so you can write your graffiti without causing property damage. My friend and I split the deep-dish meat pizza. It was delicious with the meat hidden underneath the mozzarella cheese topping. It was perfect for two people to split. Our server Corinne was friendly & competent and smiling all the time in the most genuine of ways. We came on a Tuesday night at 7:00 and the place stayed quite crowded the entire time. The patrons are a nice blend, also personable and open to a few words of conversation between tables. I saw a couple playing cards at a corner table as well. They have a parking lot and street parking directly in front as well. Great selection of beer as well. I will definitely come back. I got a spinach salad to go - which I am sure will be delicious as well. Come check it out!!

I like the Fiddler's Inn. It's cozy, friendly and they have a good beer selection and food. But man, the kitchen is super tiny and they can never keep up with the food orders. Perhaps I've typically gone when its crowded, but waiting 1 hour for a pizza can be brutal.

What is the best way to destroy a patron's perfect night at this comfy establishment? Get upset at the patron loudly in front of a very populated patio crowd when that patron wants liquid with the meal. Slamming doors? Come on... really! Well this happened to me tonight. All the customers within speaking distance of my party were very put-off by the childish outburst. So kill a perfect setting and a beautiful night for the patrons but unless you have a rich daddy to fall back on, you might want to assess your line of work. "Honey this" and "sweety that" only goes as far the room but we will remember tonight's poor service forever. You served us the "Viola" Pizza (spiciest choice on the list) and couldn't be bothered to serve us liquid with our meal! Check yourself! Your not a server. You are obviously a pity someone is keeping on for god knows why... Folk comfort is real BUT you are fake as they come in this town. It's a shame since I live in the neighborhood...

I have been here twice. Once I had pizza and a salad with my husband. Amazing. Today I was supposed to meet a friend, and she didn't show. I had been drinking a beer and was hungry, so went ahead and ordered a sandwich. Amazing. It's the kind of place where you look at the menu and it looks pretty average until you get the food and realize the quality and flavor of the ingredients takes the food to another level. The service here is great too, not intrusive but always there when you need it, with the caveat that it is a little slow, as other Yelpers have mentioned. the waiter today was especially gracious considering the whole situation of meeting someone who doesn't show always creates a little awkwardness with the waiter, but when I finally decided to order something, I looked up and he came on over. Also I appreciate not having pressure and being able to stay for a while and wait even though the place was filling up. He was able to answer questions about the well-edited beer list and gave a good recommendation as well. I am not sure why I don't go here more often.

The place was chill. Nothing really stuck out. We went there on a weekend and it was still dead. It's a neighborhood bar with good food I've heard. It's cozy and maybe a place I'd frequent more often if it was two stones from my house.

Ok, the outside of this place freaked me out a bit, but the inside was even better. The floor isn't actually made of dirt, but you kind of expect it to be. The servers are prompt and friendly and The place only feels dirty, it's NOT. And the pizza will definitely make you happy. 10 inch pie is great for two, maybe get a large of you're with a group. Great drink choices and a lot of stuff beyond pizza that I'm going back to try soon.

Everything was good. Good pizza. Good salad. Good beer selection. None of it was special, but definitely an above average pub. However, as far as their 3 pubs go, I gotta give the nod to Latona Pub, which is a favorite of mine. I'd put Fiddler's 2nd, as I did prefer their pizza over Hopvine's.

A cozy place to hide from the world or just other Seattlites. Other reviewers have nailed it. This is the Wedgwood neighborhood pub. A place where you immediately know half the people in there and need only nod to get "the usual" pitcher and pizza. The pizza here is fantastic! If you get a chance to order it, get a pie. You'll want to take it home! With a smile, a seat and beer in a clean glass. And really, what more could you want at 1am after a night of fun. And the small crowd that lingers there late is truly a fun cast of characters and fun to socialize with. It's sort of sad that they don't carry any hard stuff. It just seems the perfect place for "old people stiff drinks". If they did, I would happily apply to be their single-malt-sarcastic-bitch!

Pretty good pizza for Seattle, and I've always found a couple beers on tap I liked. They have board games you can grab to play with your friends, though I rarely see anyone doing this. Gets super noisy inside at times, but they have a great little deck area open in the summer, and allow people to bring well-behaved dogs outside with them. Seating is limited outside though, very hard to find a spot to sit on nice summer days. Service can be really slow with only a couple servers handling the whole restaurant, but as long as you're not in a hurry it's not an issue.

I would walk here about once a week when I lived down the street from it last summer. The beer selection, while not a long list, consists of a lot of top notch choices, and seemed to always be from the local region. I was very pleasantly surprised to come in one evening to having Rogue Double Dead Guy on tap. That's not an easy beer to find at all. The pizza is superb.... quite possibly one of my favorites.... but they are slooooooooooooooooooooow. On that note, service tends to be slow in general. One trip in on a (not so busy) summer afternoon, we sat outside and sat for 20+ minutes with no acknowledgment. I had to go stand at the bar and flag someone down just for menus. Service was almost always an issue, being adequate at best on a good day. One of my favorite things, by far, was going in the bathroom and drawing really juvenile pictures on the chalkboard above the urinals. Don't know why that was there... but i'm sure at least someone found my artwork amusing

Good beer, pitchers are definitely reasonably priced but generously sized (usually about 5 pints). Super Nachos are giant but definitely very very cheesy, but then again it is tillamook cheese so its tasty. Haven't tried any of the other food, but the pizzas looked rediculously appetizing and I was immediately regretting my hasty nacho decision. Best part about the bar is the board games and me beating my boyfriend time and time again at cribbage. Staff is always very friendly and overall I have never had a bad experience.

    (4)
  • Jen S.

Their beer menu is profound and the waitstaff is informed - two good things that go well together. Sandwiches and pizzas are good. Nachos are kind of lame. This is my new neighborhood bar and eatery, and I am a fan. The place gets crowded and super-loud. I don't really like shouting while I have dinner and a beer, but it was kind of fun at the same time. Speaking of atmosphere, the service is weird. First, I had no idea who the servers were, then several were upon us. I guess they all share the tables and roam. This means you will probably get what you need in pretty good time - at least that's been my experience. When it's really crowded, of course, you are going to wait.

I've always had good beer, good food, and good service from the Fiddler's Inn. It is a neighborhood bar, and it certainly rewards regulars more than Eastside yuppies (yummies, yukkies, yusexxies, or whatever they're called these days), but being polite and patient yields great rewards at this place (suggestions for food and beer). Occasionally, it gets a bit too loud inside, but the weather is nice enough now that we can retire to the outside deck for delight in the cool, quiet breeze. Only 4 stars since they sometimes close a bit early on weeknights.

This place makes a wicked grilled cheese sandwich. I mean so delicious I haven't been able to get myself to try anything else here. It comes with a salad that I get with the garlic caper dressing...frickin' divine. I also love IPAs, so this is the place for me. On slow days this place is perfect to just sit down, have a beer & a meal, and just relax. Last time I was there we played MadLibs & the bartender/server joined in. Awesome. The only downside: I need to live closer.

This one star review is based purely on our experience yesterday afternoon, otherwise, it's a 3-4 star place for us. We stopped by thirsty and tired after a long bike ride hoping to refuel with a pizza and couple beers before heading back home. We walked up to the bar to check out the beer list, my husband asked the bartender for a couple glasses of water and the bartender says "I've got 'em right here, just waiting for you to find a seat" and then mumbling under her breath, but certainly loud enough so we'll hear "Thanks for telling me how to do my job." Hmmm, OK. We order our beers and head to the patio and the bartender/waitress brings our beer, asks curtly if we wanted any food. We hadn't decided just yet and told her so. She served the group a few tables down from us several times without checking in on us and by the time we were about finished with our beers we heard her snapping at some customers just coming in. At this point we decide to call it a day at the old Fidd and head inside to pay the tab, bartender is all sweetness and light suddenly, saying "Thanks sweetie" as my husband signs the bill. Sounds as if other reviewers have had similar experiences with this same waitress. Makes me wonder how she keeps the job. Other servers here are friendly, if a little slow. Pizzas are tasty, beer selection pretty good if you're into hoppy beers and a few lighter beers would be nice to see more often. We love that we can bring our dog and sit on the patio on sunny days. Generally a perfect place to chill on a Sunday afternoon...as long as you don't piss off "the beast" by asking for a glass of water.

A super cute and charming, laid-back pub that's great no matter what the weather: very cozy with wood walls in the winter, and a lovely, green, lush little strip of a patio in the summer (with a pair of adirondacks, even!). Good, medium-sized but carefully selected rotating beer list. The food is pretty good and pretty standard american fare that's a cut above most pubs, nothing outrageous, but they do have very large, fresh salads and some decent sandwiches as well as pizza. The four stars is for the comfortable atmosphere and beer selection; the food is closer to three stars.

I recently left the neighborhood, and I already miss the Fid - but it's one of those kind of places that you have to know what kind of place you're going to. The Fid is a local - relaxed, good beers (concentration on IPAs), reasonably priced and tasty 'comfort' -type food, and pub-style service. Pub style service means if you're in a hurry or you want someone coming by every 5 minutes, you best head off to a different place. However, this cuts both ways; we've never been rushed off of our table. Being able to take a deck of cars and play cribbage with nachos or pizza and a few pints and not feel pressured to order or get out is the payoff. Fine dining it ain't, and at first my old instincts in service management started to well up at some of the inefficiencies, but the soft comfort and beer put them to rest. Final Thought - No Fryer. If you ask me, this is a good thing, as fryers inevitably stink up a place with an open kitchen.

I've been yelled at by my ex-wife, my boss, random motorists, and the odd itinerant preacher, but I've never been yelled at by a waitress until I asked for a cup of coffee at this restaurant. Our server walked half-way back from the kitchen to launch on a member of my party, accusing her of disbelieving her 'out of coffee at 9PM' story. Our server threatened us with an empty pizza pan (not making this up), then subjected us to an abusive tale of woe about how hard it is being a waitress (still not making this up), all at the top of her lungs. In the end she cut the bullshit and got back to work, but not before calling the bewildered attention of literally everyone in the restaurant to her spectacle. ...back to work on everyone's table but ours. She wouldn't approach our table again for the remainder of the evening. The pizza and beer are interesting, but not interesting enough to put up with abusive, unprofessional waitstaff. She sure showed me I guess.

We just moved to the Lake City area from Ballard, and were missing our old haunts. After passing by the Fiddler's Inn several times, I suggested we try it out. The exterior looks cozy and cute, and the inside is homey and casual. Combined with a great microbrew selection and good pizza, this is a winner for our favorite neighborhood haunt. The only drawback is a long wait Friday nights, which you would expect out of a good local pub, so no real complaints with that.

I hesitated to review Fiddler's Inn because I hate to spread the word about how awesome this place is. The. Best. Pizza. Ever. Forget that thin crust neopolitan crap. This is where to go if you want REAL pizza! Nice thick crust loaded with amazing tomato sauce, cheese, and all the fixings. Only downside is the wait. For being relatively unknown, this tiny spot is often at capacity. If you're lucky enough to get a table, be prepared to wait about an hour for your pizza. They have a small oven that can only fire up a limited number of pies at a time. Grab yourself a pitcher and hang tight with your friends until it arrives. This is one of the rare cases where I can honestly say it's worth the wait. Pizza heaven.

This place has great pizza and daily specials. They have a good beer selection and a broad enough menu that everyone should be able to find something they like. My only complaint is that service has been consistently slow for me, they even warn of it in the menu. I think they're trying to create a 'laid back' atmosphere so if your not in a hurry swing by for a slice and a pint.

Love this place - even more so because dogs are allowed on the patio. (I've found it's best to bring my dog at lunchtime, because it gets a little too crowded in the evenings.) The beer selection is ever-changing and always full of things you've never heard of; the food is always fresh and homemade. My personal favorites are the artichoke boat, the nachos and the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie boat. Service CAN be a little slow, but you can just grab some cards or Battleship from the game shelf, order a few beers and relax :)

I don't like getting double charged ... but that's exactly what Fidler's Inn did to me. I had to stop by the Inn with my credit card statement ... but the manager (who was supposed to be there) wasn't. I went over the info with the staff (one charge pre-tip, one charge, post-tip). Both same day! How clear can that be? Judy and me, not a big party. Finally, after more than two weeks, the manager called, and 'reluctantly' said he would reverse one charge. A nice local place, but not nice enough that I'm willing to be treated like that. I feel sorry for those that don't catch this. I'll spend my money at an honest restaurant. George G. Seattle, WA

Delicious and large salads aplenty! No one at my table got one of their pizzas but they looked amazing. I got the grill cheese and a tomato soup, they were both perfect! The staff were super relaxed and friendly. Only complaint was the AC was on so high I had to put on a sweater in July.....

Dear Fiddler's Inn - I miss you terribly. I'm sorry I have been gone for so long and look forward to the time when we are finally reunited. Your delicious specialty beers keep taunting me and calling me back but I have just been too busy. Frankly, your artichoke dip is so good I question if it's even legal. But I don't care because it would be worth it just to taste you again. Your service might be a little slower than some but it just reminds me to settle down... and drink another beer while I wait. See you soon. M.

Lovely little local pub. Good food, great beer, service sucks and generally it gets pretty noisy. If there is music you might as well kiss conversation and your hearing goodbye. If you can sit outside and relax and chat and not be stressed by slow service this is your place.

If you are biking on the Burke Gilman, as we were, it is worth peddling up 95th for the reward of getting to the Fiddler's Inn. Very charming and small, with a nice selection of beers on tap. Careful down the hill on your way back to the trail!

I'm a fan.

It looks like a nice place to visit but the service is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place. The food is decent but it's not worth the time.

Usually this place is pretty packed because of how small it is but it is completely worth it! Had the Naughty pizza which was amazing! Great staff, amazing beer. can't go wrong with this place just try and pick a night that's not friday or saturday!

  • Erin W.

  • Olivia S.

  • Saisai M.

fantastic little neighborhood pub. i don't even like beer and i find myself here all the time. great place to grab a pizza and a pitcher with friends. feels like a cozy log cabin and the outside area is just lovely in the summertime. the beer menu is an ever-changing list of microbrews. i asked for a light beer one day and the waitress said their lightest beer on tap was an IPA! their food is surprisingly good and the vibe is exceptionally relaxed and comfortable. i can't think of a less pretentious bar to hang out with good friends.

  • Micaiah M.

  • Matt M.

  • Elaine M.

  • Brent A.
