Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Burgermaster is a Seattle area icon. I'm a big fan of their new recycling compost program. Hit up Burgermaster if you want to flashback to burger dining 20 years ago. Good stuff.

This place is a through back... please dont expect great service it ain't gonna happen... but i eat here every few months when i have meetings in the area. I always have an odd experience and have come to appreciate them. But i could see how some people would not appreciate it. They do make fresh pastries at this location and have several veggie friendly options.

Have you ever had one of those weird nostalgic moments and think about your time back in school and eating at the cafeteria. Do you ever find yourself wanting to experience the food again, but don't want to risk being labeled as a predator and slapped with a restraining order? Well at Burgermaster here is your chance! They have a wide variety just like your high school cafeteria, only it's better - slightly... They have: burgers, chicken dinners, spaghetti, fish 'n chips and much more! Each bite will take you back to the excitement you felt when the lunch bell rang minus the school bully stealing your lunch money

Ahhhh Burgermaster. You are one of those places that is so engraned in my childhood that I can't even tell whether your actually great, or I'm just brainwashed. Regardless, I haven't experienced a salad bar so grand in my adult life. And I really love your fries and tarter sauce. The grilled cheese and gardenburger are also big hits. And your milkshakes? No problem. Maybe some people don't like that your restuaraunt is stuck in the 70's. I personally appreciate a little time warp every now and then.

I like this location for the ample seating and huge menu. Lunch prices are a little on the pricey side, but what wins me over with this particular Burgermaster is that they have Cherry Coke on tap.

Ugh! I'm not quite sure how a place like this could be rated too terribly high. The service was "meh". Steve was already in a very grumpy and aggressive mood. When we went in and his night continued to not improve. He said he wanted a Ham and Cheese sandwich and he got a grilled cheese sandwich without the ham. A pickle slice was accompanied with his sandwich...which was very luke warm. Hmmm. My Cheeseburger was slightly better but not by much. Everything was just kind of tasteless. Probably the best part to the meal was the french fries...those were ok. Despite that there are other chains of the same ilk that have better quality food...providing quality is what you are hoping to find by doing fast food.

Pulled into Burgermaster prior to attending a game at UW. The placed was filled with local folks, so we were pretty sure we were going to be satisfied with our choice. Had a burger and turkey sandwich. Great menu variety, servings are huge, and decent prices. If you are trying to get to and from the University, the joint is located off the main drag, so traffic is pretty heavy. Plenty of parking in the lot, plus there is a grocery store next door and University Village located around the corner.

Great burgers, the bacon master is the way to go. Old school, diner type feel, with everything from ribs to spaghetti. I however haven't ever strayed from the usual burger, just too good to switch up from.

Stepping inside this restaurant was like stepping back in a time-warp, in a weirdly comforting and nostalgic way. It reminded me of a place I'd take my grandmother after church on Sunday. I wanted a place with ample parking and a decent breakfast spread and yelp led me this way. The interior of the restaurant is very 70s/80s with faux wood panelling and modular-style furniture. You order at the counter and pay, then you take a little buzzer back to your table and the food is promptly delivered when ready. I ordered the pancake combo, which contained too much for one person in all honesty. The pancakes were alright, but the eggs tasted like the fake-o eggs they serve at McDonald's. The bacon was perfect, but I have weird bacon preferences (slightly crispy, slightly chewy). The coffee was passable but I liked that you served yourself. That ensured that I was able to ingest enough to get over my caffeine withdrawals. My partner had an omelette that looked less-than-appetizing. The veggies inside looked a little dead and like they'd seen better days. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good, either. I'd be willing to give it another shot and try an actual burger, though!

So, I finally tried this place and boy, I was surprised. First off, I didn't even know there was more to the menu than the typical burgers so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a roast plate with vegetable and mashed potatoes. After a time I finally settled on ordering the mushroom double melt on sourdough. The bread was nicely toasted, the mushrooms along with the patties and fixing were oh so yummy that I couldn't believe I hadn't tried the place before.

Much better fast food than your mass-market chains - but it's still fast food so can't be giving it 5 stars. They've got your expected burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes & malts. But they've also got a salad bar at this location or you can get your kid a grilled cheese. I particularly like the malts here, and the fries are usually crispy and salty without being overly so on either. I also like that if you sign up, your kid (under 12) gets a free kiddie combo on their birthday each year. What's not to like about free stuff like that?

  • Frankie G.

Happy that this establishment is still operating. They serve the best fries. I've always liked that tarter sauce was always available. Spacious and lots of available parking. The interior is a little dated (70's) but tidy. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich; very generous with the pork!.

I've been coming here for breakfast Sundays after church for years. The food is fairly standard but it has a special place in the hearts of members of the greatest generation, which is why you see lots of families and retirees stopping in for a bite. Their standard cheeseburger actually resembles a Dick's Deluxe, but with more flavorful beef. The fries are weak and lifeless, lots of room for improvement there.

Overpriced but always a great place to come to around the U-District! Their milkshakes are awesome.

This is an old school retro fast food Burger joint. They were known for milk shakes and malt. I wanted an old school icecream shake malt since I was in the area so I stop by. I notice they also serve fried chicken, ribs, pot roast and entrees at this fast food joint? I don't know if I want a pot roast dinner when so many restaurant near by here. The staff could be older than my father in law...what happen to the teenagers? I got the oreo shake malt and tom n jerry for my daughter. It was pretty good but I had better. The Tom N Jerry taste just like egg nog but my daughter didn't like it so she took my Oreo Shake Malt. The Tom N Jerry was okay but I guess the Oreo Shake Malt was good because my daughter never gave it back to me. Sad Face. Anyways, this place is A-Ok. Do stop by to get a burger or shake!

I ordered the rib combo and was surprised at how much food I got. The dinner came with cole slaw, fries and three large ribs. The sauce was good and there are a variety of sauces at the bar in addition to what they give you. I wasn't thrilled about the cole slaw, it wasn't crispy and didn't taste fresh, but I enjoyed this location better than the one on Aurora. The dining room was large and clean and the staff was friendly.

I thought I had reviewed this location. This is unusual for burgermaster - most are just dine in your car but this has a very large inside dining area and I didn't see any outside dining. Burgermaster has great burgers, but I on this trip, I ordered their best kept secret, the Fish & Chips. They have some of the best Fish & Chips around and for a reasonable price. I did notice that their fish portion had shrunk a bit. Unlike the drive-in locations they had a larger portion of their yummy cole slaw.

Burgermaster is my go-to fast food burger in Seattle. (You will wait a few minutes for your food. It's not McDonald's fast, but I think that's a good thing.). At this location, I've had consistently good food and pleasant service. I haven't ventured far away from the burger, but will say that when my husband once ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies, he spent the whole meal regretfully eyeing my burger- making me think that sticking to sandwiches here might be the way to go. The burgers have generous toppings, a delicious sauce, and are a good portion size. Your cup of fries will runneth over with crispy deliciousness that is never too greasy. I like that Burgermaster primarily uses compostable materials and makes it easy to sort them when dining in.

i am one that loves burgers.. and of course french fries.. I stopped in on Friday night around 8pm... parking lot was pretty empty.. I ordered a burger and fries.. the only reason i posted a 2 star is because they delivered to my table (that was nice).. burger very disappointing.. when eating it i thought how i could go to McDonalds. or Dicks drive in. and get 3 or more burgers for the same price that have the dependable deliciousness (for what they are). what really blew my mind was the fries that i paid $2.50 for (or something like that).. i latterly got 8 french fries.. 8.... so disappointed.. almost returned platter if i knew burger was going to taste the way it was.. i would have returned all.. so sorry to the lovers of this place.. please know i love eating out at many places.. this is one that i will never return to ever,. 8 french fries.. sick.. wish i took a photo.. so mad i didn't..

I could write poetry about good burger, but this place doesnt deserve it. It's like that boy/girlfriend you stay with because they put out (put out burgers in this case) but it's become a little tired and boring and they never laugh at your jokes anyway. Greasy burger with low-quality ingredients. CHEAP, quick, and easy (that's what she said) which is why we keep coming back. However, it's no Counter or Lunchbox Lab. The only reason I come here over Dicks is because there's indoor seating (Queen Anne isnt handy to me) and the combos at Burgermaster keep me from over-ordering/ wanting to die. I'm not breaking up with you Burgermaster, but I'm definitely requesting an open relationship.

I've been here a few times over the years and recently my autistic brother asked me to take him here. I am almost at a loss for words to explain our experience, so I'll attempt to transcribe the conversation that transpired. Server: Welcome to Burgermaster, what can I get you? Brother: I'd like a burgermaster with bacon. Server: Sorry, we're out of meat. Brother: Are you joking? Server: No, sorry. Brother: What? Are you joking? Server: No, someone is out getting more meat right now. Me: Do you know how long a wait it will be? Server: I don't know. Hey [manager], do we know how long it will be? Manager: (exasperated) She'll get here when she gets here. She can't fly! Me: I guess we'll be going somewhere else. Thanks. Seriously people. You serve burgers. Keep your fridge stocked. Fortunately for my hungry brother and I Kidd Valley is nearby.

Average food that doesn't have much flavor, but is decently priced. I expected more from what everyone in the area calls a Seattle landmark, I think they should stick with burgers only, as My patty melt and my friends chicken were minus flavor Bland, boring and not really worth mentioning.

Fast food with character. Old school burgers and fries. A step up in variety from Dick's, even better food (not a knock on Dick's). I had the mushroom burger melt on toasted sourdough. Superb. Great 70s atmosphere. Enjoy!

I recently came here with my family and we really enjoyed our culinary experience. Ahaha sorry tried to use big words- but overall we really liked our food. My kids love grilled cheese sandwiches and ate them right up, my husband and I both had the Bacon master and the serving was so big we were both unable to finish it. I love their thick shakes, and just the overall vibe of this joint. They have fast and friendly service, and I really like how they have a lot of menu options to choose from. We also decided to go for the menu special which was the BBQ pork. Wow!! Totally exceeded my expectations- it was moist and literally falling off the bone. It was so damn good!!! I love their fries as they are not over salted or overly oily- just right. We will definitely be heading back when we are in the area.

I'm old...I'm so old that I remember coming to this Burgermaster location when they had two different restaurants inside. Anyone else remember when "Little Luigi's" was in the joint? But I digress. Let me start by saying this is the weak link in the Burgermaster chain. The quality has slipped a bit. The decor has never changed since I was a kid (which is cool, but it needs a good, deep clean). Even though they sport the same ingredients, burgers at the Bellevue & Aurora locations are better than this one. Obviously, coming here since I was a kid, I'm biased. I love the Burgermaster combo with a chocolate shake. Prices, as noted by most reviewers, are a little on the high side for a simple burger. I like taking my kids here because they DO have a large menu at this location and they are Burgermaster fans also. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop at this location, but when I'm in the area...you know where to find me.

My ultimate hang out when I went to UW! You may not place this joint as a college hang out... and frankly its not... .but the food is so good that it should turn into one! The general customers are older and meet their friends there for some coffee and schmoozing. I love love love the breakfast here!! Everything is amazing!! (and totally hits the spot with a hangover on a Saturday morning) Also... the grass fed beef burgers can't be beat! And to top it off, the BEST chocolate malts in the entire Seattle area!! This may look pretty shabby from the outside, but TRUST ME, this place is a hidden treasure!! Lastly... a quick tip: If you're an avid coffee drinker like me, order coffee in the morning and they give you a tiny glass cup (that you can refill as long as you're there...) If you want it to go, you can go up to the counter and trade in your glass cup for a 16 oz to go cup and fill er up!

Well, I just moved to the neighborhood and had to try the place. After all, I do love burgers. I wanted to get the sourdough-swiss mushroom burger, but for some reason it only comes with two patties. Huh? There's no single-patty version? So I got the Baconmaster instead. A good, solid, manly name for a burger. Unfortunately they should have called it the Thousand-Island With-Soggy-Lettuce Burger. You know what I'm talking about. You've seen it before: wilted lettuce covered in sauce to mask the nastiness. Just check out my photo, you'll see what I mean. But I still ate it. It was an ok burger after I gave it a dose of ketchup and mustard. They also have syrup as a condiment if you're into that. Also you have to like a place that has Tabasco sitting out. Fries were very average. They were unsalted; easily remedied. But otherwise unremarkable. The milkshake was pretty good. The chocolate shake was really vanilla with chocolate syrup and not very well mixed. The good thing about this is that it got more chocolatey towards the end. We also had them add blackberry to it but I couldn't taste it. The only evidence of blackberry was the little purple drool down the side of it where they spilled some. This seems like the kind of place that should be open 24 hours, because the only reason you'd eat there is because nowhere else is open. Unfortunately they close at 10pm. The neighborhood also has a Kidd Valley and a burger place at U-Village that I thought was better. So I probably won't be back.

Walking in feels slightly like taking a step back in time. I must admit, I was a little thrown off by the salad thing on wheels, but it was empty when I was there so it wasn't scary. I had the french dip and it was yummy. The au jus was fabulous and just how it should be - not some fake imitation crap. The menu didn't tell me it came with fries so I got some onion rings too. The onion rings were delicious. The best part may have been the tartar sauce that you could get yourself. No paying 25 cents per little tub for it here! Despite it's dilapidated looks, it's still quite a yummy place.

Even from the first time I tried Burgermaster way back in high school, I couldn't understand why this place was so loved. To this day I see it get mentioned as being among the best burger places in the Seattle area, but it has always been boring and bland. I've held this opinion long before all the trendy gourmet burger places popped up, back when the only other options were Dick's Burgers and Kidd Valley, both of which have always been better imho. Getting in/of this location is a serious cluster---- too.

Let me start off by saying this place is totally ghetto...but in a good way! When: Tonight Food: The food was good. I had a fried chickenmaster, fries, and a chocolate malt. You can help yourself to malt vinegar, mustard, ketchup, tartar sauce and even honey if I am remembering correctly. The fries and shake were very good and the burger was solid albeit not spectacular. My wife had the burgermaster and she says that it was good and better than Dicks in terms of size and presentation and is comparable to the Dicks burger with respect to flavour Service: Quick! No Lines and took about 5 minutes for 2 combos to come to our table Ambience: This place probably hasn't been updated in several decades but why would it need to be. Comfortable booths and several of them allow you to put space between yourself and other patrons - kind of like leaving the middle urinal empty and taking the side urinals. Definitely worth checking out if you want to have a burger and fries and a private conversation with your friends. I've got to admit, living in Capitol Hill is getting a bit old - the food is kind of overrated/pretentious with a nice decor. It's nice to head off the hill and try a few other places out.

  • D.J. Y.

Okay, so pass up the weird "salad" bar thingy in the middle of the isle and march right on up and place your order, do it! Oh, and don't touch the "special" of the day plate, it's a demo, but it's not plastic! Actually this place is known for it's CHEAP eats, and those prices are worth making the visit, IMHO. Breakfast is actually a great steal here. The place is packed on weekends, but don't expect much. Order at the counter, get a number and fight with the other 75+ year olds for a seat.... The fries are good, the big secret is the tartar sauce, garlicky and addicting. Located across from the U-village and the Udub golf range, it's worth a stop to try the shakes, fries and onion rings! Check out the quirky 70-ish type semi-retro feel to the inside. Several locations around the Greater Seattle area, this one has inside seating, some locations do not.

We went here after the Apple Cup to wait out the traffic (that's a whole nother review) and we were happy we did. Good home style comfort food. The French fries dipped in the yummy tartar sauce was a hit and the clam chowder was tasty and served with Keebler crackers not just saltines. I had a mini chicken dinner which was a drumstick and mashed potatoes and gravy. The fried drumstick was plump and crunchy and the portion of mashed covered with country gravy was generous yummy. Definitely recommend it!

My first Burgermaster experience was less than thrilling. The decor and ambience was sub par, even for an old building. I certainly wasn't expecting anything fancy or gourmet, but the location didn't offer anything to add to the food experience. The burger I ate was good. While the fries were cooked well, they had very little flavor. Despite a good selection of menu items, the food was more expensive than it should have been relative to quality. This place was OK, but I will find another place the next time I want a burger.

  • Link P.

So, the price is a little high for such a pancake burger. I did like the fries, were crisp and hot. Not much of a selection at the drink station. I would have expected just a little more burger for the $8.54 small combo. The place is walk in only, I know some are drive up. It didn't taste any different from the national chain burgers.

  • Scott O.

Sloppy, even by Seattle standards and extra-greasy to boot. For this kind of money, you'd do way better to grab a gourmet burger at Happy Hour almost anywhere else. If I were a college student, I would much rather go to Dicks, save money, and eat far better.

Came here after hearing people talk highly about it, very dissapointed. Fries are ok, shake is ok, didn't really enjoy my burger. I prefer Dicks.

Love their new peanut butter chocolate shake. Although Tom & Jerry has been all my kids favorite. The location here close to Children's Seattle is my favorite. The have a condiment bar with cold tartar sauce. And it is like a diner. It can be a drive-in, but we prefer to go inside this one.

Can I please have my money back?!?! This place was horrible - I haven't eaten at a Burgermaster in years - now I know why! The fries were ice cold, the grilled cheese was sprayed down with fake butter and the pulled pork sandwich was absolutely disgusting................ I realize older folks need a place to eat but I guess their taste buds don't work so well (cause the food is gross!) They had no problem giving my 2 year old the stink eye and they even have a large sign in the lobby that says control your children. I'll never be back!

Still feels like Montana, although I think I mean that in a good way now. Their booths are not as soft as you'd expect so please don't plop down because you may experience some shock from the hardness that lies beneath the vinyl upholstery. Ordered a vanilla milkshake which was faaaaaaantastic and refreshing and everything I had been craving when my friends and I decided to give Burgermaster a shot. My friend got the Tom & Jerry because we were curious as to what was actually in it (guesses included jam, black-and-white although I'm not sure where THAT came from since they're grey and brown, and peanut-butter-and-jelly) and we quickly learned that IT'S EGGNOG! I won't lie, I was a little jealous. After wiki-ing why in the WORLD Tom & Jerry would ever be used to describe an eggnog flavoured beverage, we learned that it has nothing to do with the cat and mouse that we know and love, but it's actually a seasonal drink with eggnog, brandy, and rum named after a play written in the 80s. I guess you DON'T stop learning after college! Their fries (yes, I actually got them this time) remind me of McDonalds (which is a good thing because the only reason to ever step foot into a McDonalds is for fries), but somewhat healthier, AKA not completely fried through all the way and not overly salted. They come in a little cup and there are no grease spots on the sides once you've finished to indicate your increased risk of atherosclerosis. Double win! I'll be back for my OWN Tom & Jerry milkshake and maybe to try real food next time :)

I've gone to this place since I was 10 years old and I love it. It doesn't have fancy marketing or incredible pictures or anything (and I would not recommend the salad bar, its mediocre), but the burgers are DELICIOUS. I would go with the normal Burgermaster Combo + a shake the first time you try this. Great fries, good sauce/topping combo on the burger. You won't regret it! Also the shakes are really good and they have a lot of variety. I particularly like the peanut butter ones or blackberry when they have it. They make everything to order and you can tell! It's not "FAST" fast food, but its worth it. If you want to catch up on school/work stuff they also have free wifi...

This joint definitely conveys a small town feel in a rather urban area. It successfully masks fast food into a small town diner feel. They claim that it's not fast food since it's not precooked, but the food comes out in a couple of minutes, so that's fast food in my book. The french fries were a bit oversalted, but the burgers were OK for the price. It has a full salad bar, and quite a variety of items to choose from on their menu. It's definitely a decent cheap eat if you're in U. Village.

These burgers are amazing, my absolute guilty pleasure of choice. My typical saturday includes one shake, a burgermaster and fries. These 3 items are always fantastic and I always am happy when I get them. The place has a campy feel and its almost like walking into some run down texas diner, but the service is good and the food is awesome.

This is the Burgermaster we go for lunch. Or after we play softball in the summers. They have daily specials that we always consider. Check the board for their specials. One of my favorites is the 1lb of Pork BBQ ribs with fries for $7.95. Good moist and falling off the bone BBQ. Mouth watering bites. You can substitute onion rings for a $1.00 more. And the onion rings are a hit also. Crunchy and they give you a lot. The other is the homemade Pot Roast W/ mash potatoes. $7.95 Covered with gravy. The serving is a good size. Enough for you to finish. After you eat this your are in a comatose state. We really never tried the burgers here. And I don't think I ever will. I'll just stick to the daily specials. More bang for your dollar !!

I thought Burgermaster was kind of weird. I don't know - maybe it's just that this one is right next to U-Village and it just doesn't fit? I have no problem with the diner vibe but instead of feeling relaxed I felt creeped out when I was here. I had a milkshake which was perfectly fine but perfectly ordinary as well - nothing to complain or rave about. I snagged some of my friend's fries and they were also fine. Maybe if I'd grown up on it I'd be feelin' the love?

Went to this location for the first time today - I used to go to the Aurora spot fairly often, until a few years ago, after a long break from it, I decided I didn't like it anymore. But I'm always up for an adventure, and my friend said something about how it was "better than Red Mill". Although them's fightin' words, she and I have known each other too long and I figured this place must at least be ok. My Baconmaster was pretty damn good, with nice crispy bacon and a very adequate and properly prepared patty. Was it Red Mill good? Hell No! Would I eat it again? Yeah, sure, I guess so. The curly fries were pretty good, but not any better than anywhere else. They were better than the regular fries, too, which were pretty boring. The shake was good, but again, by no means better than Red Mill shake, or even a Dick's Drive-In shake for that matter. The place itself is a little....weird. And yeah, salad bar? Uh-uh. Spaghetti?!? No way. I don't ever like pump your own ketchup and tartar, and I had one little taste of tartar only, and it was GUH-ROSS. We left when the crying child alarm went off, I'd had more than enough by that time. After the fact, I felt truly grody. Yeah, I know, duh, right? Well, I never feel this way after Dick's or Red Mill, sooooooo.....

I wasn't sure what to get because of so many options on the menu. I asked the cashier what he would suggest. He said he has the pulled pork almost everyday. So I decided to go with his suggestion. The pulled pork was good and they had good barbeque sauce to compliment the sandwich. The fries were actually really bad. I don't remember the last time I had bad fries from any restaurant. They were very hard and tasteless. I don't know for sure but for some reason I don't think I had a bad batch.

Nothing quite hits the spot like Burgermaster... when you're in the mood for burgermaster. I love the shakes. Holy moly that hits the spot good. The burger was actually kind of flavorless in a weird way. Fries were okay but forgettable.

We went here for breakfast!! BREAKFAST!! To a fast food place. They serve breakfast! I ordered burges.. it's a BURGER place. My burger was ok. My fries were great. My sis's omelette was large and she enjoyed it. Coffee was ok. The normal condiment plastic bar was normal.. I need better dill pickles! I remember the days when this was a drive-in...

I feel like I'm ripping on a Seattle institution, but I think this place is pretty bad. I know it must hold pleasant memories for those that grew up here. This place is a throw back to the 70s. The carpet is dirty, and it could use a coat of paint. I dunno, here's the thing: This place does not have a nostalgic feel. When you go to Dicks Drive In, even if you have never been there before, you 'get it'. The place is obviously a classic. But Burgermaster does not hold that charm. Its simply looks and feels ratty. I got a turkey club sandwich that was not to bad, but the french fries were cheapy 'food service' fries. My daughter got a hamburger that was like leather. We went back for breakfast a week later (we're having out kitchen remodeled, were desperate), and I got the western omelet. Gross. My daughter ordered cinnamon french toast. I have NEVER seen my child dislike french toast, but I could tell she was not thrilled. Meh. Its comfort food, not cuisine. But I think you can get better comfort food.

I started out this summer on a mission to try "The 13 Best Burgers" per Seattle Metro mag (Thanks to the Elite Event @ Cinebarre for the mag!). As I was craving a burger this fine Sunday afternoon, my husband suggested Burgermaster. He's not a fan of the drive through though, so we ended up coming to the one down in the U-District rather than the one on Aurora that is actually closer to our house. Hey, a burger is a burger... Minus the ambiance, are they really that different? I ordered a No. 1 combo - the Burgermaster, fries, and vanilla milkshake. My husband ordered his bacon burger and a side of onion rings. The burger was good. I mean, it was a real burger. There are real burgers, and there are gourmet burgers. This was definitely the first: and not a disappointment at all. I loved it. It was no skimpy burger, juicy, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The prices were reasonable. This is kind of like the In-N-Out of Seattle. (Yes, I know, for all those die-hard I-N-O fans, I'm probably going to get stoned for making such a statement. Sorry.) Walking into Burgermaster is like a blast from the past. The old décor and the salad and condiment carts on wheels and just the older tables and seats made me feel like I had stepped back two decades. Though I must say, I liked the charm. The place was clean and well stoked, and the appliances behind the counter all looked new. Nothing about the place screamed "old and dirty" - just "quaint". The employees were attentive. Especially the poor guy behind the counter who was trying to take my order while I spent at least 5 minutes just trying to figure out if I wanted a soda (No. 2 combo) or milkshake. This, being my first attempt at Burgermaster, will certainly not be my last!

Burgermaster is a classic. I like this location because I like to save my 'eating in the car' time for Dick's late-night takeout. At Burgermaster I am not ashamed to show my face in the broad grey of a Seattle day. It's also a great place to go when you're so hungry you don't know what you want and are on the verge a fight with your friend or significant other. Burgermaster soothes the wild hunger inside. Burgers are pretty standard, but tasty. The fries are amazing and hot and salty and magical. They've still got the ketchup and tartar sauce pumps, which takes some personal restraint, but is always fun. Basically, I love this place. But it's bad for me. There are a lot of things on the menu that I will never order, like pancakes, salad bar, pot roast, crab burger, etc. I do not know who orders these things, but I bet that it's all delicious.

Burgermaster is my guilty pleasure. I am a vegetarian, so it is kinda weird that I love this place so much. When I am starving and want my food quick and delicious, I go to Burgermaster for a veggie burger w/cheese, twister fries (curly and seasoned) and maybe a chocolate shake. I love the fact that they seem to be using paper fry holders from 1989. I love that I get to pump my own condiments (all the ketchup I could want). I love the booths and the tables on multiple levels. Burgermaster is the place to go for a break from the trendy brunch spots, and the hipster diners to just hang out and eat yummy food.

When I went here, I was really surprised at the huge selection of items on their menu. I got a "Burgermaster" burger, fries and a pumpkin milkshake. My Fiance got a Pulled pork sandwich, onion rings, and a side of chicken bites. My burger was extremely disappointing. I took and bite and wondered where the meat was. It was there, hiding......masked under a ton of thousand island. My fries would have been good, if they had not been a little soggy. The pumpkin milkshake sounded really appetizing, but it was more like a pumpkin pie spice milkshake, with a hint of pumpkin. Furthermore, the pulled pork sandwich was severely lacking MEAT. There was only a tiny bit on the bun. Even worse, the BBQ sauce was really generic tasting. On the other hand, the onion rings were delicious! The chicken bites weren't half-bad, and you get a TON of them for $1.99. All-in-all, I wasn't impressed with the U-district Burgermaster. I probably won't be back.

My husband likes to come here for breakfast. It is a good, honest, no frills, bacon, eggs & hashbrowns kind of breakfast. I'm kind of picky about how my eggs are cooked and I really don't like them to be browned at all, but they can't be slimy either. The first time we went here I ordered the Mexican omlette and it was mostly good except for a little bit of browning around the edges. The inside was tasty with taco meat, melted cheese, avocado, and sour cream. The hash browns were OK. I mean, I can't complain (unless I could ask that they be a little more crispy). But the best thing about the breakfast here is you can order a Burgermaster burger, fries, and milkshake if you want! Burgermaster burgers and strawberry shakes were special treats for me when I was growing up (my family was really Dick's people--back when the hamburgers were really 19 cents) so you can imagine what a treat it was to go to Burgermaster. A note about the strawberry shakes...they're pretty good. I mean, they're not the best strawberry shakes in the world (you need fresh strawberries for that) but they use a combination of icky strawberry syrup and frozen strawberries, so they're really second rate which is just about as much as you could hope for at a drive-in, isn't it? The burgers are good. I'm comparing apples to apples, Burgermaster burgers and shakes with other "drive-ins" and they are definitely a four star place. Breakfast (if you could only order breakfast stuff would be two or three stars--think Denny's). So when my husband wants to go to Burgermaster for breakfast, I just order the combo #1 and we're all happy.

To start, the burger was ok. I wasn't impressed with it. It was a burger. I've had much better. But I'd eat another burgermaster burger again if we happened to stop by. I give it two stars because of the atmosphere. I just didn't like it. It was unclean. The salad bar was filthy. Same with the condiment area. They were moderately busy, but had more than enough people to clean up. Mostly they were just slowly walking around the large place, looking for numbers for peoples orders. They could've moved a bit faster and then had time to clean. I lay that issue on management. I'd stop in again to pick something up to go if I were super hungry and had no where else to go. Food: 3 stars Ambience: 1 star Average: 2 stars

Love it. I rarely eat out at burger joints nowadays because I do my own grillin' or going to my brother's. But that all might change after craving for a burger and saw Burgermaster so I stopped in and what a surprise it was. Great burger and fries, of course great workers. It's a semi-fast food place, but a little pricier but is worth every extra cent. Stop by and try it and you will see what I mean. Words can't explain it. And you know how a picture is worth a thousand words? Well in this case tasting is worth a thousand words and more!! Once you put in your order, take a seat and they'll bring it right out to you. No more standing and waiting, no more "you're number is..."

Burgermaster is a blast from the past, though most of the clientele were probably at the grand opening. The burgers aren't especially great, but they get the job done. Fries are better. Had a strawberry malt, which was quite good. Ambience is great: clusters of little old ladies sharing fries and juicy gossip and decor that hasn't changed since the place opened.

Eggs were good as was the bacon....but how do you screw up French Toast????? I would have given this place a 3 but the service and the ATTITUDE is just not necessary. Will not be back again.

Lets start with the positives, the strawberry skake was awesome, chunks of berries in the cup. The bacon on my burger was quite tasty. Also I ran into one of the players on the UW football team, last name was simpson I think, really nice guy, tough season for him. But he did talk to my son, so i gotta say thanks. But they put relish on burger, after I said NO relish, so not really happy about that. The french fries were bland, and did not much for my taste buds. Cool location, service was pretty quick, but the price was abit steep. Wont be my first choice for fast food, but I wont avoid it either.

This was an interesting experience. We came here randomly and in a good mood. Basically, we got hungry buying groceries and just jumped over the divide between Safeway. The whole place reminded me of a Sizzler I had been to a few times as a kid. The tile floors, the movable salad bar, the giant menu board. They really had a huge assortment of food-like substances to choose from. I took a risk with the mushroom burger melt, the boy got a bacon double cheeseburger. The staff was very nice and the other people ordering were pretty cool. Especially since we had our little girl running around saying hello to everyone. We got it to go since the decor was sort of ghetto. The food wasn't amazing, but it was covered in cheese and hot. While it was nothing I would crave, I would go back if I was in the area and hungry. Oh and they have a great gardener, awesome tulips!

I was so disappointed with my last visit here. A few days back I stopped in hoping to indulge in a delicious and nostalgic hamburger and some fries. What I got was a huge let down. I got a "burgermaster" to go, and an order of fries. Before walking out the door with my food, I stopped to put some mayo and mustard on my burger. I unpeeled the wrapper, and noticed that my burger was sitting in a puddle of grease. I had to get napkins to soak it up before my bun soaked it in. The patty was super greasy--way more than you come to expect from a greasy hamburger joint. After seeing this, needless to say it was hard to eat the burger. Half of it and I was done. The fries were OK, lacking in flavor but at least they were fresh and hot, which is more than I can say about a lot of places. I also grabbed a free cup of water, and it tasted super rusty. For $7, I'm certain I didn't get my money's worth. I'm pretty bummed--hopefully it was just my bad luck and not a typical experience.

Everything I've had here has always been really good. I love the grilled crab and swiss sandwich. It's a big sandwich, and for $9.99, it should be. The inside of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, so I would advise getting your food to go. Sadly missing is the drive-in aspect of other BM's, but it's still good in my book, and a good choice for when you just want to do a quick run for some drive-in type food. They also have actual dinner style meals, but something about ordering that a BM strikes me as weird. Perhaps this place gets some lower ratings because people are expecting too much, or are comparing it to restaurants and burgers that are out of its league. It is what it is, and I give it a high three stars for being a solid tried and true fast food style place.

I've been going to Burgermaster since I was pretty much born. You could say that this was our neighborhood burger joint. We frequented here for brunch on Sunday's after church where you pretty much knew everyone in the the restaurant or for just a random lunch during the week. Yes its old school, yes it can look dirty, yes their food is greasy and YES they still put up a giant Christmas tree during the Holidays... but its homey and comforting and the staff is nice and makes you feel like home. Their grilled cheese is one of my faves - and their milkshakes always bring me comfort when I've had a cavity filled or a tooth pulled. The real deal though is their breakfast. It's cheap for what you get and their hash brown's are freaking amazing!!! I give it 4 stars mostly because I grew up there - but really when you need something comforting, greasy or a good breakfast - I highly recommend it.

I've been going here my whole life, and have great memories of getting the kiddie meal post saturday little league baseball games. Lots of regulars go here, especially in the morning, which is cool to see the same faces everyday. Food is decent, could use an update to the menu.

If you see me here, mid afternoon, looking closer to death than life, sitting with a group of equally haggard friends- it is because the previous night was a rough one. Burgermaster is the go to hangover spot. It's the kind of place that, no matter what time of day it is, a Number 2 combo (cheeseburger, fries and a drink) is an acceptable and necessary thing to order. It's gotten me through some hard times. Lots of old people, good greasy food, and a place to sit for hours on end negotiating the severity of your hangover- whats not to love?!

This Burgermaster isn't as interesting as the one by Oaktree on Aurora. The food is probably the same, but it's like a roadside cafeteria. There's something to be said for getting your food delivered to your car window 50's-style.

Location, location, location. This Burgermaster taunts my boyfriend and me every time he picks me up from work: it's the perfect "backroads on the way home pick up some dinner" place. I'll admit that I don't like burgers all that much, but man, when I'm in the mood for a cheesy, beefy grease-bomb, Burgermaster does it right. And when I'm not? Chicken! Salad bar! Milkshakes! The choices are endless. Beware of the afternoon rush, though, and the traffic crossing 45th. Once you're past that, though, enjoy your milkshake and, if you're feeling fun, try the pot roast.

We ordered a kid's hot dog with no condiments, and a veggie burger with no mayo. The hot dog came with ketchup and the burger had mayo. Brought them to the counter to have them redone, only to have them returned to us with condiments WIPED OFF. They even used the same buns. Good grief.

Very disappointed:( Burgermaster what happened, we have shared so many good calories together. Ate her today and was sad to say your grilled cheese was sooooo oily, I coud barely put her down. My son got the kid chx strips for $7.50?? Why? There was 2 chx strips and about 10 fries. BooHoo BM I used to love hearing from you. Granted it has been years since we have spoken, so who knows when you lost your spark. Just need to mention that the staff freaked out on me because I wanted ketchup and ranch. Hello people we are dealing with fries and chx!!! It was a 5 minute conversation between staff members. Lame. I know economy is tough, but geez:( Saddened as I remember you used to be able to help yourself to condiments to go and now you have to go through a long and agonizing process.

it's been a long time since I've been to Burgermaster. It hasn't changed much, great burgers and fry's. The shakes are very thick, you need a spoon to eat it. The tarter sauce is very good, nice touch for the frys. Burgers are big, no need to get more than one to get filled up.

OK, the place is gloomy, most of the workers are apathetic, and it's populated solely with people over 50 at dinner, but I love it. It's like nowhere else in the U District. This place is especially "fun" at Christmastime, the hand painted windows made me want to cry. I get a garden burger-- which is nothing special but the side of fries are reliably hot, crispy and never too salty. It's good to come here with a friend to get away from University kids and make fun of other people eating here.

First I would just like to say that burgermaster's fish burger sends all sorts of blissful shivers down my esophagus, through my digestive system, and out my back door. That said, eating in this particular burgermaster is such a downer that it makes even their divine fast-food creations taste lackluster. Old people aimlessly walk around, get in your way, and fill the air with stale old people air (someday I am going to be old, and yes I will annoy myself). There's an unappetizing salad bar, sprawling menu with items not seen at a typical burgermaster, and outdated decor that will make you feel like you need to give some of the old people wandering around sponge baths. Unlike other burgermasters, there's no car-hop section where people bring you food so you actually have to fight for a seat, save it, then bring your own food back. It's just a bizarre, jarring, unappealing place that doesn't really cultivate a comfortable environment where you can fully indulge your gluttony. Food is delicious, though, so you're better of getting it to-go or driving to the traditional and beloved location on Aurora.

If you've ever been in a bar when they suddenly turn on the overhead fluorescent lights and you're like "ew...this is kinda yucky" --- you'll have a similar reaction when you enter this place. It just doesn't feel like a wholesome, comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The few remaining meatasauruses in Seattle have come to expect a relatively antiseptic beef-eating experience....this Burgermaster didn't get the memo. Hand-written signs with yellowed, crunchy tape. Little dirt pockets in the corners. Surprising absence of mouthwatering aromas. Tabletops with mysterious stickiness. Do yourself a favor and order "to go". $4ish for the "Burgermaster" -- the specialty. Not bad. Not outstanding. Like a "Whopper Jr." with a little extra love. I won't be going out of my way to eat here again anytime soon. For a better burger and lot more fun, go to "A Burger Place" on the Ave.

Not a big Burgermaster fan to begin with - it really just seems like a slight quality improvement from Jack in the Box at 2X the price. This one is especially strange, since as mentioned it's fast food style rather than Sonic style. The interior is quite a trip - think cross between an old Denny's and a Bowling Alley. Not the best place to be eating meat, or even salad. Speaking of which, I do have to give them props on the salad bar - good selection and nicely priced...maybe not the freshest but after braving a few cafeterias I really have no fear at this point. Overall, I can see this place working well if you're not in the mood for sex and need a place that will *really* turn your date off, male or female. That or you're just too lazy to make your own TV dinner.

I love the onion rings here. Burgermaster has a cool concept where you drive up and get your food. I have only been here a couple of times. I dont eat in my car so I have to take it some place first. The burgers are exactly what I would expect-messy greasy goodness. The burger does not stand out at all really. I do always love the onion rings, but it is damn near impossible to mess up an onion ring. I will stop by from time and time again to get my grease fix on.

Breakfast from a burger place? Unheard of, right? Well, in my last review of Charlies Diner, I said that it was a good old-fashioned roadside diner. Well, this "drive-in" might just challenge it. If stories are really your thing, then I'll tell it. We just got back from ESPN's College GameDay at the Hec-Ed, and the early wake-up call matted out any chances of the usual Chocolate Chex. So we went to the place where people usually pig out late-night on double-cheeseburgers. It was a whole different scene. Old people sat, reading the newspaper, and the menu was expansive. The Burgermaster I usually go to in Bellevue is a Drive-In only, but this place is an actual restaurant. I got the number two, which is eggs (i got mine over easy), hashbrowns and toast. Everything was great, and I must add, the burgers are amazing for dinner and lunch as well. Service was friendly, and it was a nice place to eat breakfast.

I've been going to Burgermaster for nearly 35 years. Hands down it is my favorite for a basic cheeseburger fix. Though their menu is extensive at this location I like the basics: fries, o-rings, tartar sauce and shakes are all very good. One thing I like about this location is the old "burger joint" look and feel. It's a good place to go kick back in a booth, read a paper and enjoy your meal. Oh and they serve good breakfast too!

This is the world's weirdest Burgermaster. There is no car-hop section, which is what makes eating at Burgermaster so fun in the first place. No, this one, you gotta go inside. Oh, and inside is a scary place. There is a mobile salad cart! Like it's on wheels and features things such as Thousand Island dressing and smoked salmon. I would like the smoked salmon idea if they kept it at the proper temperature, but they don't, it's all weird and vomit inducing looking. Also, this Burgermaster has a lot more on the menu than the normal Burgermaster. Quite a few one-offs posted on handmade signs - I guess they have a bunch of markers and construction paper in the back to augment the menu board. For being in the U District, this Burgermaster caters to a distinctly older crowd. It really looked more like a nursing home cafeteria as opposed to a Burgermaster. Still the burgers are ok, and they have good tartar sauce for my fries, so I'm a happy camper when I leave with my bag of greasy food.

The best part about Burgermaster are not the shakes...or the burgers. It's the fact that I used to make out with a cute girl that worked there...hrm...back when I was 16. We had to end it when she started to brag about how quickly she grew her ponytail out. I had no idea there was a great deal of importance on the speed of which hair grew to the length of a ponytail. After listening to the explanation, it was agreed upon that a pony tail that took 1 year to grow out to a certain length, was far better than one that took 3 years to grow out to the same length. It has to do with the age of the hair at the...anyways...we made out after I agreed with her. The burgers and shakes are good as well.

Sloppy, gooey, but surprising is how it all works and becomes a good meal. Had the bacon burger, fries, and a drink. The burger was sloppy and juicy making it a challange not to wear. The fries we crisp and perfectly cooked, I deviated from my usual ketchap and went with the highly recomended tarter sauce, it was the right choice.

Burgers are ok. The milkshake is so thick you need a spoon to eat it. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing but it can be quite filling by itself.

Good, if not amazing, burgers. Tasty milkshakes. A bacon cheeseburger with fries and a malt milkshake costs about $10, so it's not as cheap as Dick's, but it's definitely tastier.

This place is great for breakfast and comfort foods. I come here when i need something the ave on university way doesnt satisfy my tastebuds. its a great place. I always get the beef dip or the crepes for breakfast. Both are my faves. its kinda like a sharis or denny's with better quality food.

The name is amusing, the longhorn logo catches my eye (UT alumni here) and the food is pretty good. Slightly better than Dick's but portions and quality are subpar compared to Kidd Valley. The one up on Aurora is 'eh' but the U-District location is pretty standard and decent.

This place is not the greatest food in the city. Nor is it the worst. I do like the chicken bites. They make Chicken Nuggets look sad by comparison and at 2 bucks for a small plate full of them its not a bad deal. I am kind of going between 4 stars and 3 for this review. I guess I'll go three with the understanding that this is a solid place to eat. I am not a hipster so decor is meaningless to me as long as the food is good. The food is filling, and unremarkable. Sure there are old people, but hey they gotta eat too, and as long as they don't try to steal a fry I am cool with them. Sometimes I like just going in ordering the fries and the chicken bites and for 4 dollars I get full. Can't claim that many places anymore.

This place is a neighborhood institution-- small town Seattle before Seattle became so gentrified. Vintage car clubs meet in the Burgermaster parking lot in the summer. REAL crab meat is used in the crab/cheese melt sandwiches--it's not a lot of crab meat but it is real in an era where fake crab has become the norm. B-master is where my kid's soccer team has their end of the season celebrations. When the weather is nice we walk there to get breakfast on the weekends. The omelettes are not at all fancy--but they are not supposed to be. It's good All American food and a local landmark.

I would like to give this a 0-star, but I cant. I do not like fast-food to begin with, but this place rivals JacknBox, BK, McD's for just plain negatives.

When you need to go back to the '70s for that perfect grilled cheese and root beer milk shake fix Burgermaster is the place to go. Even the fry container is straight of '76. There is seriously no place else that makes a grilled cheese like they do. I've heard that the pie isn't too shabby either. All I know is for an after Husky game feast- Burgermaster is the place.

Can we say Breakfast?! That's where it is at here. I've been to this Burgermaster twice for other than breakfast, once I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and drink, another time I ordered a turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich with the same extras. In both cases not bad, not great either, but I felt like it was worth the stop. Breakfast in my opinion is what sets this place apart. The Eggs Benedict is better than 13 Coins and one third the cost. The Western Omelet is - for lack of better way to put it - no worse than restaurants charging twice the price. In summary, you get one heck of a bang for your buck. The hash browns are not shredded fresh, but how often do you see that, and at what price when you do? I like the fact that I can walk up to the condiments and coffee bar and do what I want. If I want ridiculous amounts of salsa AND Tabasco, I can - although petty theft has forced them to remove the caps on the Tabasco. If I want Irish Cream or Hazelnut flavored creamers, I can. If I want a mixture of decaf and regular coffee I can...and more. The crowd? As a previous poster noted, some old timers who have been meeting up here (I go on weekends almost exclusively because of work) for decades - I don't know if they come 7 days a week. Next were students, usually with their parents. Then there's the occasional guy like me: no date, perhaps divorced or on the heels of a very LTR, but yearning for a good, cheap breakfast without any need to be showered and shaved. I put a ball cap on, sometimes my slippers, and head to U-Village Burgermaster. I buy a paper, order my breakfast, settle into a comfy zone and enjoy reading and eating. I have never had a bad breakfast experience there...well there was that one time the ramblings of one old timer and his buddy got so repetitious (it was the same story on the third go-round) that I had to go to another booth, but the move was with a smile and the thought that I hope I have a willing ear when I am 85 years old.

TAKE OUT! Ok, maybe this place doesn't scare everyone, but it always feels like slightly seedy past the cool retro phase cafeteria to me. However, the food is worth the fright. There's a lot more than just burgers here, but they really are big enough and good enough that you might not order anything else. Well, fries and shakes too, though I always get the onion rings and as a connosieur of onion rings I can state that these are gooood.

I've been here over four times now and each time I'm presented with the same food, same taste, the same sad previously frozen vegetables and chicken yet I don't know why I keep coming back. The prices for the food is completely reaching for what is essentially cafeteria food. It's convenient and service is fast but there's a reason why a majority of the people that eat here are the elderly. They can't taste anything. The workers are nice though!

Despite being surrounded by some of the best neighborhood restaurants and bars, one of the best things about living in NE Seattle is Burgermaster. With three kids with individual tastes, this Burgermaster has something for everyone. Great burgers, great dinner dishes like chicken and pot roast, great desserts, and a pretty good salad bar. Part fast food, but mostly diner with a great hometown feel. I have been many times, and I will go many times more. I'm sure this will be the place my kids remember most about eating in NE Seattle when they are adults.

I have been to this location a few times now and I cannot say that I will return again. The service is still OK, but right now my chief issue is the rising price for a meal for a young family of four. I paid over $40 for a fast food meal for my two kids under five and my wife and I, where it would have only cost $20-$25 at McDonalds. This is not fancy enough to be paying that kind of money, and it's right next to a college campus-certainly most student could not afford to eat here. To sum up the food ordered, my 2 year old had the short stack which was two pancakes, my year old daughter wanted spaghetti, my wife had a two egg combo meal, and I had the five chicken strip meal. My chicken looked pathetic, and did not look very fresh. It came with a mountain of french fries, and some warm and otherwise gross cole slaw. That fare should not have cost so much at all. I checked the receipt and everything was rang up correctly. Again, this is a small step up from McDonald's, but it is still a fast food restaurant. We will not return here due to the rising prices. I'll stick with Dick's Drive In on 45th and save $25 in the process for about the same amount of food. It's a fast food restaurant. It should not have cost us that much for food.

This is a decent place to eat. Having worked nearly next door for 6 years, I had the occasional craving for a good ole fashion hamburger and coke (plus a chocolate malt.) The hamburgers are merely alright. This place really likes to use salt. The fries are perfection though. The salad bar is disappointing merely because they have celery mixed in with the main salad!!! NO! Don't do that!! Staff is friendly and their service is pretty timely. The atmosphere is a pleasant step back in time. Also, in the springtime, their tulips out front are AMAZING!

Solid fast casual food. Had a tasty burger and also an excellent grilled cheese! The chocolate milkshake was delicious and a good size. Fries could definitely use seasoning! They were not salted or seasoned at all which would have been the perfect touch. This was a great quick casual stop for us after a long run - didn't feel like we needed to get dressed up.

I have eaten here since college and it is a great place for a quick meal but tonight I went. The burgers were not Burgermasters. I know a Burgermaster when I have eaten one and they no longer know how to make them. Try the Aurora one if you want to try one. It is a shame because the University Village Burgermaster used to be the best Burgermaster place with nice breakfasts and a bigger variety of menu than the others but when your Burger doesn't even taste like a Burgermaster anymore it is a fail. Sorry.

We have been to previous Burgermasters and enjoyed them However this location was not up to par with our expectation. The fries were bland, no salt or anything. We never like salty fries but these had nada. His fish & chips were meh. He said it was thin and greasy I waited 10 mins after he got his food to get mine. I had mini mushroom burger combo. Meh Cheese was fake. Tarter sauce was good on the fries though

First: If I could I would give this place a negative rating is possible. I guess Burger Master deserves one star due to the free refills & I love lemonade. My husband & I chose to go here because I on a very rare occasion CRAVE a burger & it was one of those occasions. When I CRAVE a burger, I want a real burger, no frozen patties or thin buns.... We heard this place was good so we gave it a try.... It was DISGUSTING... I order a burger with grilled mushrooms & NO CHEESE - I'm lactose intolerant - so this is a VERY IMPORTANT request... Well my burger came out.. I was disappointed by the looks of it & even more disappointed when I saw the cheese... But as I looked more closely & saw that the mushrooms were those nasty canned mushrooms (yuck) I was so glad that the cheese was that cheap hard to melt stuff because it was so easy to wipe off the cheese & nasty mushrooms in one easy swoop. Then let's talk about the meat... It was so thin & not the color real non-frozen patties should be. Needless to say I took one bite of the burger & was so grossed out that I didn't finish it. It was just fries & lemonade for dinner that night.

I went here recently for the first time to try it after receiving race reviews from a couple of friends. Big mistake. The place is old and dingy, and the food quality is not that high. You can expect to pay about $9-$10 for a burger, a side, and either a drink or a milkshake. I was in the mood for something simple like a hamburger, but I noticed that they had a sliced Kobe beef burger. I ordered that, and was very disappointed. The meat was very salty, and the sandwich was drenched in barbecue sauce and I could barely taste the actual meat. It was like eating questionable barbecue drenched protein in a bun. The bright spot of this place is the staff. The lady at the counter was super friendly and helped explain the food items to me since it was my first time. It's too bad that the food itself was not good.

Went to Burgermaster for the first time today. Happened to drive by it, and said "damn, that's a cool sign, might as well check it out." Lol. Hopped on yelp to make sure it was a good idea first, and I was pleasantly happy with the reviews, and my experience. I ordered the Burgermaster and coke, and my uncle ordered the cheeseburger. The burger was well dressed, and the single party filled me up! Great dressings and sauce as well. The best way to know the food is from a good source is how awful you feel after the meal, and I'm leaving feeling like I did my food soul justice. The service was excellent, and the server was friendly with a smile. Good ole American food joint.

I live a couple blocks away from here and it's a great place to eat at regularly and is especially fantastic for when many relatives are in town. I highly recommend the Swedish pancakes for breakfast! For lunch or dinner, the salad bar plus a Burgermaster combo hits that sweet spot everytime. The staff are friendly and the dining space is great for families and seniors. Great restaurant management and affordable.

Burgermaster is great. I think they only have these in WA state. Good burgers, good fries and not bad prices. Lots of old people eat here and they still have a salad bar even. Lots of burger choices. Greasy burgers at good prices, you can't ask for much more.

  • L J.

First, this place is overpriced for the quality of this fast food. The fish in the sandwich and the platter was from frozen and very small. The cole slaw was an untouchable on the plate. French fries were thin, very thin and tasteless. For $7 the fish sandwich should have a gourmet bun. WHAT IS UP WITH NOT GIVING CUSTOMERS AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT ? We got the total only and a list of the order. Who wants a hamburger on toast? Goodbye Burgermaster.

Screwed up and ordered "Cheese Burgers" instead of the "Burgermasters" But they were very good ! French Fries were hardly warm :/ Chocolate Malt = A-OK It wasn't busy .... so I am blaming that on the cold fries.

I've been to the Everett location and the one in Kirkland many times, both are awesome. Compared to those this place is disgusting! Dirty looking interior and the burger was awful. I suggest Joeys around the corner for a burger. It's a little bit more but way way better.

I tend to eat the salad bar in the evening which is excellent, so are the soups, the pot roast and the spaghetti dinners. often also have b.f, there - also well done, a bit on the expensive side meanwhile. very much an old timers joint, especially on weekends after church. lots of turn over of servers which means pay is near minium for them, truly stupid day time supervisor. fine in the evening.

A little pricey but the food was good and came out fast. We had kids chicken combo, 2-piece fish & chips, and the burgermaster combo. And a chocolate shake. The food was really good (better than expected) shoestring fries were really good but we like them a little crunchier. The shake was delicious. Probably 5 stars if only a few bucks less. Prepare to pay $10 for a combo.

Been coming here since 1960. Nothing better than a burger, fries w/ tarter sauce, coke, and apple pie Al's mode w/ cinnamon sauce. Every trip I make back to Seattle starts with a trip to the U Village Burgermaster

As far as fast food burgers go, this is the place to be, if you're in Seattle. I live in Arizona so I prefer In 'N Out but Burgermaster takes the cake in Washington. Great burgers with tasty special sauce, good crunchy fries, and the peanut butter shake is made in heaven. I dip my fries in it and life is good! This location is very clean, nice people, good set up!

Passing by, we were drawn there because of the sign and the busy parking lot. It took just a moment for the friendly cashier to take our order.. a cheeseburger and an order of ribs. We waited just a little bit before she brought out the correct order. The cheeseburger did not have any flavor and the fries were cold. My order of ribs were probably from yesterday or the day before.. they were dry and did not have flavor, but the little bit of sauce on top did taste good.

Great burgers from a Puget Sound standby. Shakes are excellent. The tartar sauce is raved about. Fries are usually crispy and fresh. Service... well, how do you rate service when they just punch it in the register at the counter and hand you a number - but they do that well. The inside is a little old and dingy, but it sort of fits the U-district feel - thought it is starting to feel out-of-place as U-Village keeps getting more and more upscale right next door. My kids love it.

On my way home after 3-hour long class, I stepped in BurgerMaster, which is right on the busline on 45th and Union Bay by U-village. (location and convenience are very important to me) It's a good size family friendly restaurant. They not only server burgers, but also other food from pot roast, fish & chips to breakfast. The restaurant is very clean and neat. The staff really did a good job keep it well-maintained. I enjoyed the burger. However, the bread was very soggy and greasy! I didn't want to assume, but I felt like the mushrooms were from a can. I wish I would have customized my burger a little more (I should have mentioned that I didn't want mustard on my burger. I like mustard, but it wasn't a good combination with cheese, mushroom, and greasy fatty burger to me)

  • Derrick D.

Standard burger joint with a large menu. Being that this was my first time there, I opted for the regular burger combo (Combo 2). Burger was decent, nothing special. Fries come in a medium size cup, again nothing special about the food. Would go back though if I was looking for a cheap burger fix.

Finally returned here after several years away. This place was a staple in our family when I was growing up. The atmosphere, decor, menu and help are about the same as I remember... However the food is not. My mom ordered the crab and Swiss sandwich - one of her favorite things - and the sandwich was pathetic. Very thick slices of buttery bread with a meager thin layer or crab salad. They charge $11 for the sandwich alone , and it's not worth it. Don't waste your time and money here, make the short trip to the u village and have a decent meal.

Fast, inexpensive, casual and easy. An institution for generations, and still going strong. Choice picks for BREAKFAST are Swedish Pancakes (eat in) and the Muffin Master (take out). Breakfast bonus: NO LONG WAIT on weekends and FAST SERVICE, because you have better things to do with your time. Get some!

It is what it is. A large, reasonably fast place with lots of burgers and other diner standards. The several times that I've visited, it did deliver the requisite calories, but failed to surpass the atmosphere of a basic cafeteria.

I love me a cheeseburger and fries. One of my favorite burger places in Seattle. They have a variety of other foods too. But seriously. The burgers are good. Try it out. Decent price too.
