Date Night. My wife and i got to sneak away for dinner. We wanted to try a new place. Service ok. The "hostess" greated us and seated us quickly. Our waitress was efficient enough and answered our questions easily. It was good service but nothing over the top. The beer. We each tried a couple beers. They where good. I realize that the "bottom draft" or whatever it is called is the new thing that makes the beer better or waste less. yada yada yada. But I want my beer in a ice cold glass not a plastic cup. 2 of our beers came in a cold glass and 2 came in a plastic cup, that was used with the bottom draft taps. The food. We like to try multiple things from a menu of a new place so we ordered multiple things. 2 atomic bombs pretzel stick/bites with a cheese sauce the fish and fries and the nachos. Atomic bombs. The sauce on the plate just did nothing for either of us. The atomic bombs themselves were great. Rice stuffed with cheese (pepper jack) wrapped in bacon and fried. Pretzel sticks. uhg! The bread sticks that came to our table in no way made us think pretzel. They were bland. There was a pile of nice rock salt in the bottom of the dish that would have improved this problem but they needed to brush the sticks with oil or butter to get them to stick. The cheese sauce that came with this dish was equally blah. SALT it works wonders. The fish and Fries. The fish tasted fresh, it was white, light and flakey. It was very well breaded (lightly) and very moist (not oily or greasy). The fries that came with this dish were also great. Both were hot and delicious. Not sure how we felt about the tartar sauce it was ok just not our thing. The nachos. The chips were warm and crisp. the meat had great flavor and just the right amount of heat. But for $14 we had a TON of chips with nothing to eat on them. It sounds like I am complaining a lot and still giving them 4 stars. The fact of the matter is had they used just a little salt, layered the nachos with a little more toppings, and had glasses for all the beer we ordered we would have given 5 stars. This place over all was and enjoyable evening out together. Nice calm environment. Good food and Beer. Good job to the owners and the crew

I got there at 5PM when the place was mostly empty and I promptly ordered a sandwich and an appetizer (fried pretzels with cheese sauce) from my waitress. The appetizer came out in less than 5min and was actually pretty good. I then spent the next 50min being ignored by my waitress while she attended to the few other occupied tables and there was no sign that my sandwich was anywhere near being ready for delivery- I didn't even get a "hey, sorry, it is almost ready, just a few more minutes". When I had hit the hour mark, I dropped some cash on the table to pay for my appetizer and left. I won't be going back for this kind of service.

I have eaten here a few times usually ordering pub food. I had meetings after work yesterday with about 45 to get something to eat in between. I ordered the Kobe hanger steak but was informed that they only had a ribeye. OK, I could go for that. Big mistake. That meat was so old it even smelled bad after it was cooked. You know what that smell is like, don't you, when you leave thawed burger in the fridge too long and it gets that funky smell and starts to turn gray. That was the steak I was served. Just awful. The pub food here is OK. Don't order anything else.

I came here on a Saturday night around 7 with my fiancé. I understand that Saturdays can typically be busy nights---so I expected a wait. However, waiting an hour for our food is crazy--especially considering what we ordered (a burger, some fried fish and chips). The waitress was great--really friendly and apologetic, but the entire experience was dampened by the extended amount of time waiting for our food to arrive. The quality of food was ok. Again, I wasn't expecting much (which ultimately ended up being a good thing---I didn't get much). Not awful, but certainly not worth waiting over an hour for. Fried fish was ok, onion rings were sub-par. Beer on the other hand, was great! I got D's Wicked Baked Apple cider. Super tasty, with just the right amount of spice. Extra star for the cider.

7:22 - walk into restaurant 7:23 - get menus 7:25 - waitress comes over, gets our drink order 7:30 - get drinks, put in food order 8:36 - YES. 8:36. ONE HOUR, 6 MINS LATER, get food. There was three of us. We got two burgers and one French dip. The restaurant wasn't busy. Maybe 30 people total. Once we got our food it was cold. Who's brilliant idea was it to put a grilled burger patty on an ice cold bun? The food definitely had potential but it was not worth the wait, or quality. I can wait over an hour for warm, delicious food, but this wasn't it. I will give a huge shout out to the server, she made sure our drinks were full and she let us know about the kitchen situation (as in, she has no control over the kitchen and it wasn't her fault). She clearly felt terrible that we had to wait so long and did her best to make up for it. She was friendly and the only positive from our experience. Not sure how this happened, but the wine one of us wanted and two of the beers we wanted were out. It's not hard to update your piece of paper menu to reflect the current offerings. I want to like local restaurants, but I won't be back.

I'm sorry, but almost 2 hours for a simple food order is not acceptable. We only ordered a burger and French dip. On top of that, watching 4 other tables receive their food before you, but coming in and ordering after you, is down right rude. Our waitress was very kind and did her best to make a horrible experience better. She let us know that they only had one cook and the person who washes the dishes running the kitchen tonight. She said they called others into work, but "no one wants to drive all the way out here." In what world is this acceptable? I felt the food had a nice taste, but not worth the time or money. I wish we hadn't waited for our meal, but we were constantly promised it would be right out. The place has a nice atmosphere, but I don't think we'll ever come back.

After seeing their Facebook post about their daily dinner special "calamari puttanesca paired with a tamarack spice box", I decided this would be my place of dining for the evening. I truly enjoy well prepared calamari and am always curious to try it at places where you wouldn't expect there to be fresh or good calamari. I guess I am a glutton for punishment because I generally know it will be bad, I guess I'm just always hoping to be pleasantly surprised. In general, I like "that place", it has a good social atmosphere, lots of pnnl and Hanford work groups that fill it regularly. I have had fish and chips and a lunch grilled chicken sandwiching the past. Neither were amazing but both were decent and didn't cause me to storm out in disgust. The calamari puttanesca was right on par with that. I was mainly curious to try the calamari though. It was actually tender and not difficult to eat. I wasn't sure exactly which part of the octopus it was, the slender hollow tubes did not offer a lot of substance or flavor to the meal, but atleast it wasn't chewy. The tomato based pasta could have benefitted from some fresh herbs and cracked black pepper to make it pop or give it some sort of distinct flavor. I finished the meal and it wasn't painful, but also not overly desirable or flavorful. Fresh herbs and seasoning are easy to come by and should be a staple in an Italian style pasta dish, so no real excuse for the lack of flavor. I decided to test the waitress a little bit in regards to her knowledge of the special. I asked what made up a "spice box" wine. She said a red blend, I said what kind of red blend, she said I could read the bottle as she didn't know...fail. I don't expect a waitress to know the details of every bottle, but perhaps for your nightly special the restaurant could prep the staff to better educate patrons and sound knowledgable for the purpose of selling the special. My table and I then got into a debate about whether a waitress should know that level of detail and whether it was acceptable or not since it was just the Tri cities and not Seattle. The answer is YES It matters!! Quality should always matter from food prep to waitress knowledge! If establishments don't drive to a certain level of quality and customers except less than excellent products and services, we will continue to stay mediocre and never draw bigger ticket items of any sort to the area. This goes beyond my review of "that place" but it just makes a good example of a nice establishment offering nice things but not driving to offer a superior product that leaves customers wowed, wanting to come back and recommending it to all of their friends. If we want to compare to Seattle, the food would have likely been rated worse and the waitress would have been fired between The reviews of J and I. So Again, this isn't a slam on "that place" as I would assume to run into this same situation at a lot of places around town, but it doesn't make it acceptable. Below you will find reviews from my other guests at the table. While you might think "j" sounds a little dramatic with her adjectives, the scenario was accurate and it was offensive that a guest would be pushed to drink a product they weren't requesting and then later find out they had what she was asking for but told they didn't have it. D- The beer that I ordered tasted good, and I liked that. J - "That place" was true to its name, but not in a good way. Upon entrance, I was reasonably impressed with the distressed yet chic décor. I sat and the waitress greeted me with a slightly confused demeanor as I urged her to take our drink orders. I waited for her offer me a drink menu but after a few minutes of looking doe-eyed and thirsty I settled for asking her directly for the wine list. The waitress looked at me like she had not ever heard of such a foreign thing as a "wine list" and asked what kind I wanted. I responded with my usual -"chardonnay." She hesitated and said that they do no have chardonnay but they do have something very similar and I accepted. BIG MISTAKE. I ended up receiving a miniscule serving of blush wine. As I winced and forced this sad excuse for a wine blend down my innocent throat, it was clear that this blush wine was not going to be satisfactory - or even tolerable. After asking the waitress AGAIN for a wine list, she gave me one and I realized that she offered me the most expensive glass of wine - as if there were no other wines available. later I did end up getting a chardonnay, thank goodness, but the process was frustrating and confusing. In short, where can you go for the most expensive wine list, horrible service, a shameful excuse for blush wine, and about an hour of pleading for attention from your server with your thirsty disappointed doe-eyes? Oh Yes - "that place."

I've been here three times. The first time I ordered fish and chips which was really good. The second time, they had an expanded menu and I ordered bacon Mac and cheese. The food was good but the portion was very small considering it was priced the same as an entree (it came looking like a side). However, i had hopes of coming back and trying new things based on the menu. Also, the place is well put together and they have immaculate bathrooms. Based on my first two experiences, i would give this place a 4 for great atmosphere and okay food and service. The third visit was a little worse. They trimmed back the menu because the original menu slowed service. The new menu was very basic and three of the items were just variations of hamburger. I wasn't excited by my options considering the 11-12 dollar price tag of every entree. (They're food isn't anything special so that is a little much compared to other places nearby.) I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. They added avocado upon request for 2 dollars more. The frustrating part is that we waited 10 minutes for our check well after we finished eating. Overall lunch lasted over an hour. I thought they were trying to speed up our experience by giving fewer options! Based on the third visit they get 2 stars. I know they're still experimenting since they are new so I averaged my combined experiences to 3.

My first visit having sliders for lunch. I will be back to sample more of the menu. Excellent beer selection. Good wine selection and reasonable priced.

Waited over a hour and a half for our food before we walked out. They were not even busy while we were there, only 4 other tables and they had there food.

Great new place that has an awesome selection of beer, burgers and pub food! White Bluffs AND Bale Breaker on tap!? I'm in! Try the Atomic bombs, they are the bomb!

We visited on a Friday during Happy Hour, found a table quickly and our server came to say hello within a few minutes. She was very personable and made our experience enjoyable. I ordered the BLAT burger and my partner had the vegetarian burger. I was underwhelmed by the food although I would recommend the upgrade to the onion rings (instead of fries) as those were very good. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food takes longer than you would expect based on the amount of people in the restaurant. For the same price, I recommend the going to Fox and Bear and getting the grass fed burger. I'd like to go back and try something else off the menu as I know burger preferences can be pretty subjective. Again, our server was really great and I appreciated her attentiveness and positive attitude.

This was our 2nd time here. The first time beer was good and cold but Nachos were microwaved to long with 2 tablespoons of meat and some black olives, not tasty. 2nd time sent 2 of our 3 meals back soggy fries with a dry club sandwich and a taco salad with a variety of lettuce not for a taco salad. With only meat and cheese. Then the burger our 3rd party ordered lacked the sauce on it the menu spoke to, but that was the fry-sauce also, not good, had a sweet relish taste. Then beer in a solo cup with cloth napkins is weird. They didn't charge for bad food we didn't take but one bit of, and 1/2 price in burger. Still not worth because we waited so long and rushed out to fast food. Wait staff is not bad on both trips and good beer selection. Won't be back.

Nice atmosphere, incredible beer draft tap collection, clean restaurant and bathrooms, very friendly and attentive service. The food was better than average and could even acommandate a vegan (they had a Kale veggie burger), but I think they had something for everyone on their menu. I will be back for sure

Great burger. Well thought out beer selection. Nice decor. I will be visiting more often.

Clean. The decor is a little odd. It seems like it is trying to be a suburban housewife's ideal decor (no offense meant there, it's a nice decor, just weird for a restaurant) mixed with maybe we are a sports bar with 5 very large TVs. Food: ordered a steak medium rare. It arrived to me well done. I took one bite but could not handle the mistake (I have literally never sent food back before). The asparagus was over cooked as well and the mashed potatoes were very bland, probably could have fixed that with some salt if I planned on eating it. They asked if I wanted a new steak but I declined. They graciously removed the steak from my bill and offered me a dessert. The pumpkin pie was mediocre. Definitely nothing special. Of note, my friend had a burger which she enjoyed. Service: decent service. Took a while for the server to come back and check on us after getting us our food. But I appreciate the way my returning my dinner was handled. Service wasn't overly friendly but certainly wasn't rude. I would like to give them a higher rating simply for their effort... But it was honestly a 2 star experience. I do plan on giving them another shot at some point and hopefully I can update this.

Nice building and decor. The staff was friendly also. Only problem was the food wasn't that good. Maybe give it a second chance. Still new so maybe it will improve.

Our first visit, the french dips were great. My husband enjoyed the selection of beers and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back and trying the dessert menu next time.

I've tried this place three times now (at lunch time only). It looks pretty and welcoming, but the food is very blah. I've ordered different things each time, trying to find something to return for. I've tried a chicken ceasar wrap, which was probably the best thing I've had. It is no longer on the very short lunch menu. I have also tried the fish and chips, which could be pretty good if anyone in the kitchen knew how to season food. The fish itself tasted good, the batter was light and crisp, but it tasted absolutely unseasoned. The fries were out of a bag frozen fries. I have also tried the chili, which was also very bland and unseasoned. Aside from the food being below par, the prices are very high. If they could raise their game on the food, I might pay their outrageous prices once in a while, but I doubt I will be back unless someone else is choosing our lunch destination.

Poor service even though they weren't busy. Small portions, bland food, overpriced. They did have a decent selection of beers, but the waiter had no idea what they had on tap. He had to take a piece of paper to the back bar and write all of them down just to tell us what was available.

We went the other day. I think it was my third time there. I've like the food in the past but this time the service marred the experience. I ordered an appetizer which never came. I never got any refill on my water although they did ask about refilling my tea. I happened to be sitting facing the kitchen and I saw some plates put up on the shelf to be put out. After a minute or so a waitress looked at the plates and went back to the bar. After several more minutes she went back to the kitchen pass through and this time I heard her say "I need a salad" ( salads are an upgrade I had paid for). From here on it seemed like a keystone cops operation. The plates sat again for a few minutes until both waitresses came over, talked a little bit, kept looking at the plates, finally one picked them up but after our waitress said something to her she put them back down. By now our meals have been sitting there for at least five minutes getting cold. Still makes no sense to me why someone would not deliver the hot food and bring the salad later. Several reviews have mentioned slow service and I have to agree. The location is good, the building is beautiful, the food is better than average but they need to do something about their wait staff.

The four stars goes to the beer selection and taste. If I could rate the serving staff, they would receive two stars. Several words: unobservernt, rude, and too social. The servers don't support the kitchen staff and there is no pep in the kitchen staff. I ordered the pretzel app and it toot 25 minutes and the house was scarce. The menu should be refined and made better, step up the quality of ingredients and menu ideas. The servers should talk less while still meeting the patrons needs, in addition, the servers should present an actual receipt of their grand total before taking payment. The staff socialized too much, while the patrons are looking for their server. Overall the beer selection alone is the best thing about That Place. The food and waitstaff is extremely mediocre......

The mac and cheese was delicious. Many beers on tap to choose from, good service. Restaurant was clean. Our server brought over beer samples that he thought we would like without asking which was fun to try!

  • Amy W.

Friendly waiter but he was overwhelmed. Took 50 minutes to get lunch. Club sandwich was lousy. Suppose to be a triple decker and barely had any meat on it. My husband's spinach salad was teeny and the beers were flat. They were closing early for a private party so perhaps they were preoccupied with that. I won't go back. Too bad. It is a cool place with a lot of potential. Disappointing.

  • Nicole O.

Typical menu items are as expected, but the salads are probably the worst value in the Tri-Cities. I've ordered three on different occasions, same problem every time. The meat portions are ridiculously small for the price, the chicken salad had about half a tender on it, chopped super finely. Not the place to go if you are trying to eat healthy...unless you want to pay 13$ for a salad and leave hungry.

Great selection of beer at a good price. The food is good. I particularly like the burgers. The staff are very friendly.

Don't get the taco salad! This was absolutely the worse taco salad ever and it was $12. I threw most of it away. It consisted of a cold greasy taco shell, ice berg lettuce (with a big hunk of the core), a cut up hamburger patty (cold) with absolutely no seasoning, cheese, tomatoes, and way too many raw onions. Then they give you thousand island dressing for a taco salad - who does that? The salsa was pretty good but that was it. The only reason I gave it a star was the service was good. I think this place may be good for hamburgers and beers but that's it. If you can't make a decent taco salad take it off the menu so people don't waste there money.

My guy loved the bacon mac and cheese, and my burger was pretty good too. My complaint though is their draft system. Ordered a delicious beer, and it basically comes in a solo cup! It's one of those bottom fill draft systems they use at sporting events, but at a pub, it's rubbish. Plastic cup, zero head on the beer, and the bottom of the cups leak... Not the delivery you want for a craft beer. I'm sorry, but I expect my brew to be presented just as well as my food. Very disappointing.

I was never impressed with food at this place. They have good selection of beer. Ask for bottled microbrews, we were surprised. Drink beer and live long.
