I always order take-out as the restaurant itself is very small. One minor critique is that they don't make your take-out order until you arrive, even if you've called way in advance. This can be inconvenient if you need to get somewhere quick. The food is always great and the staff is friendly, although it seems to be different people every time I go. I recommend the traditional gyro, but as other reviewers have stated, skip the salad. The ingredients they use seem a bit cheap for the price (iceberg lettuce).

My husband and I have been eating here for lunch since we moved into the neighborhood 2yrs ago. The food is fabulous. I can't even begin to tell you how great the Greek dressing is. Service is good too. One nice gal named Bree seems to always be working when we go--always smiling and friendly.

I love Greek Island's food. We usually do takeout, but occasionally eat in and enjoy watching people come through and interact with the staff. They are good at estimating the time till pick up as well.

Ordered 2 gyro plates and an all meat calzone... The calzone was flavorful and filling... Well cooked... the gyros were pretty good...never had the pitas cut up into wedges, trying to eat a gyro before...the greek fries were delicious...customer service was excellent, always helpful...very clean place...and the baklava is outstanding...

Fast food style Greek. A little pricy. Worth every penny. I wish my home town had a Greek Island. I could eat here several times a week.

I love this place and would have lunch there once a week while I was pregnant - it was my treat! Delicious lamb gyro and salad!

The food here is always so fresh! I tend to order the Greek chicken salad while my better half gets the gyros salad. Love everything about the salads! The pizzas are pretty good, but not great. Haven't tried any other dishes, though we do eat here often.

I have visited Greek Islands several times and the food is always amazing!! I recommed the Chicken Gyros!! Yummy!!! Only down fall is if your calling in an order make sure you have them repeat the order to you. The man who took my to go order this last time got it wrong and I got a lamb gyro instead of the chicken. Oh well I should have double checked the order before I got off the phone. The lamb was good, just not as good at the chicken.

If you haven't discovered this place you need to! It's amazing. The food tastes so fresh and very well made. Their feta fries are to die for. Although this place is small it should not be underestimated!

This place is always great! Very friendly staff and the food is always reliable. Don't be intimidated by the small eating area as usually a table will open up by the time your food is ready or you can always get take out. Really good gyros and calzones!

I grew up in around plenty of Greek food in Detroit so ordering a gyro is nothing foreign to me. I would consider the food here slightly above mediocre, not bad. I have a couple of things I don't like about Greek islands. First the prices are too high for the food you get, it gets expensive very easily for the food you get. Greek food isn't this expensive where I grew up so I just can't be that impressed. Second is the size of the interior, I'm a bit claustrophobic and don't like how crowded it is. Sometimes when you wait for a table, you might be standing next to someone eating. The good things I will say is that they are very polite. They deliver of you live close enough. Not bad food, but I've had better. Greek food is hard to get in the Tri-cities so this may be the best there is locally.

Options for both healthy and decadent eating. __________ The Good: Very happy and friendly employees. You feel good, getting food from people like this. (Who really likes or trusts a grouchy chef?) The chicken skewers in the Greek Chicken Salad are phenom! Their baklava rocks my socks! ZOMG BREAD STICKZ!!!! Always get extra bread sticks! I want to cover myself, nekkid, in their pita bread, and tzatziki dipping sauce. (Yogurt with feta crumbles I believe.) I'm HUGELY lactose-intolerant. But, I freely accept the consequences. MY BODY IS READY. _________ The Bad: I've sadly gotten better hummus at Applebee's, of all places. This is my only true frustration. It's bland. Which, hummus can be. But, I vastly prefer my hummus to be a flavorful experience. Their "feta fries" aren't terrible, but a lot less tasty than you might expect. Just some small crumbles of feta, which mostly fall through to the bottom. You're better off going with their Greek salad as a side, unless you're really in the mood for fries. Otherwise, the fries are firm and decent. (Not soggy) _________ The Ugly: Me, nekkid, with pita bread in strategic places. They won't be using me for streetside advertising anytime soon. _______ DISCLAIMER: Author is not liable for local air quality when ingesting tzatziki sauce. You are warned not to store or ignite any flammables within a three-mile radius.** Author attempts to consume only on non-red burn days, weather permitting. ** (You will be able to tell if you are within the danger zone)

I've eaten here several times. I keep being hopeful. It's counter service FYI but with sit down prices. The gyro (had them all over the world, i love the taste) was underwhelming. Not a lot of meat, but toooo much onion. In fact it seemed almost like onion tomato and sauce. Fries are nice with feta cheese on them. Nice restaurant just not somewhere that is a go to destination.

this place is consistently delicious. and it's one of the only places that serves things other than pizza that delivers in the area! i just came from spending the last 2 years in pittsburgh where they have tons of greek food, and honestly the gyros here are better than everywhere else i've been to.

Absolutely love the food here!! I've been to a few different Greek restaurants and out of them all this comes second to a Portland restaurant. Love the fact that I can get Greek close and at a pretty good price. They even deliver! I usually get the gyro and it's amazing every time. Never missing anything. Always lots of meat and tsaziki sauce, which is delicious as well. The customer service is great. I always get personable delivery service and when I pick it up they always greet me when I walk in. Definitely my favorite restaurant in the Tri Cities hands down.

Searching for a nearby take out restaurant when my partner and I were out and about, I found Greek Islands. The reviews were mostly positive, so we decided to give them a try. Walking in with smiles on our faces, we were both taken aback when we made eye contact with the two employees standing behind the counter. Not only did we not receive smiles back, but they quickly averted their eyes and we were completely ignored. After grabbing a couple menus and sitting down, I then went to the counter to order for us both. Upon receiving our food, we went home. He was extremely pleased with the lamb souvlaki, and commented that it was flavorful and had virtually no fat on it. Having ordered hummus and pita for myself along with a Greek side salad, though, I was disappointed as a whole. The hummus was okay, and I think with any other pita bread it would be good, however the pita bread here seemed to have been fried and cooled. So, not only was it not warm, but it was greasy. Warm, puffy pita bread is what I'm used to at the Greek restaurants in Las Vegas, and so was very surprised when it was so different here. As far as the salad, I wish I hadn't ordered it. It was made with iceberg lettuce, not green leaf or romaine, and it seemed to be non-fresh lettuce as much of it was yellow. There were a couple of cubes of red onions, one tomato slice (usually this is chopped), and a too-light sprinkling of feta. Further, the dressing was all right, but like the pita bread was wayyy too oily. $24 for lamb souvlaki, an appetizer hummus/pita, and a side Greek salad? I thought this was rather high when I was rung up, and while it wouldn't have been a big deal if the food was delicious, I could barely eat 3 slices of pita due to the grease, the salad was not fresh so that remained mostly intact, and the end result was me remaining hungry. I can't recommend Greek Islands to others.

I have been here lots of time, but it had been a while. My gf chose it for lunch before we hit the highway to get out of town. I was looking for something light and tasty so I wasn't bloated before a wedding. I had the chicken souvlaki with salad. I loved the toasted pita break with tzatziki covered all over it along with the chicken. I am not sure how it compares to an authentically prepared dish in greece, but for the common passerby, it is definitely tasty and worth a try. Someday I will try baklava as they have it out on display and suggest it for dessert.

I just came from Atlanta and was worried I would really miss my favorite Greek restaurant. Found Greek Islands and I'm no longer worried. The gyro and fries were great but the baklava was just plain divine. I'm positive I'll eat here again. Oh also the delivery speed was super fast!

Love this restaurant! One of our go-to places in the Tri-cities. Love the calzones and gyros.

  • Lee S.

The food is good (disclaimer I also like Hot Pockets and those licorice allsorts that come in candy tins that roughly 3% of the population are willing to eat), although for me 90% of that is that the meat and pita are cooked all the way through and they enable my love affair with tzatziki. I've also only ever ordered the gyros and baklava. The gyros is a good size (I consider 1/3 pound cheeseburgers 'average') the salad isn't a sad little collection of wilted iceberg lettuce, and the sweetness of the baklava was appreciated by my straight-frosting-eating yet-112 lb. mother (moderation. Not that that makes it good for her. Or me. Or *her* mother. Basically, none of us would have a chance if we developed diabetes.) The place is clean enough (the odd sticky table, but they can't always manage to swoop in before the next people seat themselves.) but the ambience can be a little odd. I can never figure out if I should really tip (although I do.) as the 'server' basically just cashiers, takes the order and announces when to-go orders are ready and barely has to make two steps to take something to a table (drinks and such are self-serve, which suits me fine). At closing the staff can forget the one or two people still there and start figuring out who's going to Applebee's later and talking crap about the guy who went off shift earlier and isn't going to come out. Unprofessional, but the cook properly squeezes the liquid out of the cucumbers in the tzatziki, so I'd probably be willing to ignore a drug deal if it wasn't heroin.

This small family owned place had amazing authentic Greek food. Everything was made there, from the bread to the gyro meat to the baklava, and it was all fresh and delicious. We have the Gyro and loved it! We also had the baklava, which we also loved. We will absolutely go back again. Cannot wait to try everything in the menu!

This place is more of a fast food place than a restaurant. They have a limited menu for Greek food but it seem to be popular with the locals. I had my choice of 2 places and this one had more reviews and a slightly higher rating. Here are my observations; Counter order joints are mostly take out and fast food places. Now we're are well above fast food quality here but the limited menu meaning no Greek dishes like Moussaka, pastitsio and soutzoutkakai (Greek meatballs) or even an eggplant in the place. No table service, order and sit then the food runner delivers your meal and busses your table. My table was sticky and I cleaned it myself. This was a big turn off and a sad result of the fast food style of this place. Soda dispenser in the tiny dining area screams fast food joint. On the good side the humus was very good a huge portion and lots of crispy pita. I had the lamb Souvlaki with a side salad and it was also very good. Again served with lots of pita it was a good portion size for the cost. The short side was the tiny amount to Tzatziki provided also made with dried herbs it was lacking in flavor. Doled out in small portions and charged extra for more, fast food action! My feel on this place is it is deemed excellent by an audience who has limited choices and they fear going Greek by being a pizza joint too. I'd try their pizzeria items but I'm always on the hunt for great places and in my opinion this place falls a bit short. I just want to say this last. My food was good the place was bright and welcoming and the staff were friendly fast and personable. For the locals this place is 4 or 5 stars all the way.

Fantastic Place. The first time I went here was because my co workers recommended it. I was a little skeptical of Greek food, but I was so WRONG. Its so delicious. I went in feeling pretty confident and ordered the gyros and pronounced it GY-ROS... I kept hearing other customers saying Ye-row and I thought to myself "I got to try this Ye-row thing" So I ordered it and got the same order. Lol, I then realized a gyro is pronounced Ye-row thanks to that handy button by the cashier.... The tsaziki sauce they use is so good and the salad is always so fresh. The seating area is a little crammed but the food and service is so amazing that its worth it. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to ask how my day is and serve me. Ive never felt rushed or like "just a customer" when Im in there. I probably go in there twice a week now... cause I love it so much! :)

My d-in-law always orders from Greek Island when she is in town, and we enjoy their food. After an incident about 10 days ago, we will be forever customers. After filling his pickup at the gas station next door, my husband pulled into the street and suddenly had black smoke pouring out from under the hood. He drove into the parking lot across the street and was attempting to put out the flames when two angels from Greek Island came running over with a bucket of water and put out the fire. Not only that, but they returned a short time later with a Gyros for him to enjoy while waiting for help to arrive. YUM!! Insurance says truck is repairable. Thanks to the guys from Greek Island!!

Exceptionally good and affordable. Gyros, salads and pizzas are all fantastic. One of my favorite places in the area. I should eat here more often when I am in the tri cities.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the Tri-Cities hands down! I can't get enough of the pita bread & the lamb is absolutely amazing! If I could afford to, I'd eat here every day!

They need to update yelp. We went there on Monday 7/27. It was closed. The sign says Tue to Sun. Why wouldn't they update yelp. We were disappointed driving far for this place and found out that this is closed.

  • Ariel Z.

I usually get a gyro and fries, and they never disappoint. Tasty and the portion size is quite big. The place is kind of small and a bit cramped feeling, so we have only done takeout. Service is fast and friendly for that, though, and I have nothing to complain about there. Will have to try the pizza and the baklava!

I've tried a lot of things on this menu and I love pretty much everything. The pizza's aren't my favorite but they are still pretty good. I am obsessed with the Greek Salad with grilled chicken, it is amazing!! The people who work here are awesome, everyone is kind and welcoming. So glad that over the years they consistantly continue to give great service and serve amazing food!

Pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and prompt service! Just moved to Richland and needed some food as the unpacking process was going on. My husband and I had been referred here by a friend and the Yelp reviews seemed to agree. I ordered the chicken gyro which came with a small Greek salad. Both were delicious! To be honest, this was the first time I have eaten a gyro and I loved it. The chicken was flavorful and the gyro itself was loaded with tasty extras like tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and a delicious sauce. The Greek salad was also very scrumptious. My husband ordered the gyro calzone and it was huge! He definitely enjoyed part of it and then we had leftovers the next day. Delivery was quick and easy ( minimum $20 order needed). We will order food from here again.

I have been here multiple times and the food is always terrific! The service is always great! I always get the Gyro but every once in a while they will suggest something and it is always terrific! Whether you get a pizza, calzone, salad, pasta, or gyro you will be very pleased!

Fresh, made to order food and really, really good! Nice to find a high quality restaurant that isn't a franchise in the Tri-Cities. I had the hummus and flat-bread. The portions on this are easy to share with a group of four people or so. I also had a Gyro which had a ton of flavor and was made fresh. Highly recommend this spot the next time you're in the mood for Greek food.

Love this place! This is hands-down the best Greek/Mediterranean place you will find in the Tri-Cities. Gyros, Pizza (Sauce Art's mistake recommended), Lamb Soulvaki, Calzones, tried them all it is is all great. They even have baklava! Delivery service is prompt and food comes out relatively quickly. Definitely recommend.

A very basic café located in Meadow Springs near Albertson's at the intersection of Gage and Leslie. Think teriyaki joint, but with Greek. You order at the counter and then take your seat to wait for them to bring out your food. I ordered the pita combination plate ($10.79) that came with shaved gyro "meat". I wonder what the "meat" is exactly. It did taste like lamb. I requested my plate with a salad, though I had the option of getting fries. The fixings on the plate were typical in flavor and presentation. However, what did stand out was the pita bread, which was exceptionally good. It was warm, toasted and a little bit buttery. I also liked that Greek Islands was generous with the serving of the cool and fresh tzatziki on my plate. That's a common complaint in other Greek restaurants, that there's never enough tzatziki. Prices were a little steep for the quantity. But that seems to be the general rule amongst Tri-Cities restaurants; they are notably more expensive than restaurants in Portland/Seattle. But curiously, gas is a lot cheaper in the Tri-Cities.

  • Henry O.

Walked in and said it's my first time: lady gives me a sample which was a friendly gesture, however the smell and aroma of the restaurant was fantastic! A great visit! Food was not what I was expecting coming from this area of the state! I was literally blown away from the Greek salad, the Feta cheese, to the chicken gyro! If I have the option to choose where to eat first, it's between this place and Bento teriyaki in Kennewick

This new little joint has been receiving some hub bub as of late. I gave it a few weeks and finally delved in. While at the gym, in between heavy breaths, I called to ask what their menu was like. The main dishes were wraps & pizza, with many Greek variations from there. The pizza sounded enticing, but since it was just me, and I had an image of being healthy to uphold (i.e. "don't eat pizza by oneself!), I went with the gyro wrap and fries. When I arrived the joint in a strip mall was already buzzing with hungry patrons. My food was already ready (they said they could whip it up within minutes). So, I took a quick gander at the small dining area and the open window to the kitchen in the back. I saw the rotating meat on a stick cooking in the back (a good sign). Dining in here wouldn't be my scene (a bit hub drub, and Subway-esque), but I'd definitely take my Greek treasure home any time. Now was my wrap & Greek fries worth the nearly $10 price tag? I don't know....I guess. It's a little steep, but this is a family owned joint, and t's a new ethnic food option in the bland desert known as the Tri-Cities. So yeah, I can almost justify the price (although I wish there was more food for that price). The fries were fairly basic. They had some sort of feta-type cheese on them, but there wasn't that much on my fries; I could have gone with more of this cheese to add some flavor to the otherwise ordinary fries. Besides, I'm half Canadian, so anything close to poutine the better. The real star of the meal was the wrap....and more specifically the meat and the mouth watering sauce. This is what will bring me back. All in all, a very nice new Greek joint that the Tri-Cities can be proud of!

Had take out last night chicken gyro, was not up to par the sauce tastes more like mayo than true tzatiki sauce. It was just one big huge disappointment when one is craving good Greek food.

  • Flower B.

Their food is really good! Gyro is delicious as are the lamb kabobs. Ambience was even fun. Where this place falls short is service. The first time we went, it was fine, they were nice but slow and brought our meals out at different times instead of all at once. The second time we went we brought some missionaries with us, and the server, who I think may be the owner was very impatient and rude to one of the missionaries. He took more than three seconds to answer a question about ketchup and she snapped, "it's a yes or no question!" I have no tolerance for rude servers, so we won't be eating there again. Also, I now know why they put the tip jar at the register for you to tip when you order and pay. Sneaky, and necessary when you don't care about customer service.

  • Lia B.

I've been in the Tri-Cities area for 2 months and its been a challenge to find quality local and GOOD restaurants! I normally have to drive to Portland to satisfy my palette. Anyhoo the Food was bomb! I ordered the lamb soulvlaki and the lamb was seasoned perfectly and tender, the greek fries was crispy but not over fried with just the right amount of feta cheese and OMG the pita bread was just Perfect-light & buttery!! Thanks yelpers for the reviews, I'll be back and will tell others!

  • Dave S.

It's a little pricey but good food. The food can be inconsistent at times. We eat there about every other month or so because the location is great.

  • Katie C.

Like many reviews before mine stated, this place isn't ideal for eating in due to the uncomfortable tables and small layout. I found that I like ordering it for take out as to avoid the crowd that is likely to be there during a peak hour. BUT, this place really does have great food and I consider it a treat to go eat there. I've had the veggie pizza there, it was great and I would definitely get it again. Their Greek salads are really good, the dressing is great as well. And of course, the Gyro...not necessarily the best in the World, but most definitely in the area. They deliver as well! Wish I lived closer to it :)

I wasn't expecting to be so impressed. When my husband chose Greek Islands for dinner last night, I thought, "That dinky place next to Subway? It's probably terrible." I was so wrong. At the top of their menu they say "we use only the highest quality imported Greek products." Now I believe it, and it makes *such* a difference! I got the Lamb Souvlaki--two lamb kabobs with pita bread--and the greek salad. The lamb was beautifully roasted, the pita was out of this world, and the greek salad was rendered *amazing* by the fantastic feta and vinaigrette. My husband ordered the Gyro with greek fries. "Greek fries" amounts to regular french fries sprinkled with feta, but it's also surprisingly fantastic (he plans on asking for more feta next time). I get the sense that you could order absolutely anything here and enjoy it. The atmosphere was great, too. It's a fast-service style restaurant, but with nice tables and "real" dishes and silverware. The employees are also above-average friendly and polite; I was really impressed. I would characterize my entire dining experience as "delightfully surprised." We will definitely be returning!

When you walk in, you are greeted by authentic Greek music. (Yes, I said the "a" word, but it is actually useful here. Anyway..). It is very clean and bright in here, kind of like the Mediteranean scenes depicted on the walls. The staff here are very friendly, and they work very hard to keep this busy new place clean. I can see them needing more space soon, because this place is ALWAYS full. I would also like to call attention to the fact that they deliver! Their pizzas and calzones are hand stretched with daily homemade dough. And good. Yes, the food here is so good. Love the gyros. LOVE them. And the spinach calzone...even if you aren't a spinach person, this is so good. I am going to be here...a lot.

YUMMY!!! I absolutely LOVE this place, so far everything I've tried has been so delish I feel like I can't get enough. I could order food every day from them. The salads are wonderful, the pasta is yummy and the Gyro's are amazing. They deliver which is so awesome.

  • Jessica Z.

Let me start by saying I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have amazing gyros and the tzatziki is soo tasty! Also, twice now I have been in there and they have been handing out free samples of their pizzas. They are wonderful. The crust and sauce and topping combos are amazing. One of the ones I tried was Art's Mistake. I could eat a whole pizza that tastes like that!

The hidden gem of the area. I usually get the chicken gyro with greek salad but pretty much everything is great there. As an added benefit the nice girl that works the front counter is very attractive.

  • Food C.

My wife and I decided to dine in for once. The food again was excellent. She had a gyro with salad, and I had the gyro salad. We actually got to sample their pizza which was also great. I picked a bottle of their greek salad dressing up to take home since I love it. I have to up my rating since I felt the staff was actually more friendly than I have experienced in the past. We were asked about how our diner was, and even told thank you and have a good evening as we departed. Nice improvement.

The food is great! I eat here a couple times a week. I normally get the gyro but there are other good things. Try the baklava for dessert some time.

The gyros and greek salad were awesome tasting...fresh and fast. I would only do take out here. The inside is small and uncomfortable with "self serve" drinks, napkins, etc. Then the food is put on the table in plastic trays. I would rather eat in my car. Great food though!

  • Rolla K.

My wife and I were both happy to wait for a table. The food was excellent. Busy place usually is a good sign and boy howdy it was! Went with safe choices to start with Gyro and Gyro Calzoni, both were tasty! We will be back, oh my goodness!

Mr. S: Hey, what's for dinner? Me: (deer in the headlights look). Isn't this usually my department? Absolutely, but there are some days when you just don't have enough gas in the tank. One quick scan told Mr. S that going out wasn't an option (hey, it was my teleworking day -- aren't we supposed to save water??) After nearly 24 years of wedded bliss, the man is intuitive -- he digs out the "to go" menu for Greek Islands. We've used the takeout option several times since they opened. Timely, quick -- and the food arrives hot and delicious. Tonight it was the meat calzone for Mr. S and S Junior, and I had the gyros plate. Succulent gyro beef on pita with the tzakiki (yeah, spelling, I know) sauce and a side salad. A lot of food for $10.95. Keep in mind if you like your sauces, ask for extra when ordering take out! Great place, great addition to Richland. Quick delivery, friendly staff. TASTY food! Really not much to dislike! As the four-star rating says, "Yay! I'm a fan!"

Definitely the most economical and consistently good Greek food in the Tri Cities area! The other half and I go at least twice a month or so to treat ourselves. He regularly gets (and loves!) the lamb souvlaki and "Greek" fries, I am fond of the chicken gyro with Greek salad. The fries are lackluster, but the feta and parsley sprinkled on top sort of spruces them up. They have the best fresh, homemade Greek dressing for the salad, and the tzakiki sauce is superb. It's fun getting take out since we live nearby, and about half the time we get a sample of something while we're waiting. My wish list: for them to carry the lemon chicken soup that Apollo does (I believe the have the same owners) because that would be an amazing side option.

A greek place in Richland??!! Whaa? It's about time! Probably one of the best gyros I've had in awhile. Plus, the people who work there are always super nice. I think I've gotten a free sample of something everytime I've been in. Their pizza is to die for. The hubby gets their greek salad...I get their fries that they pile feta cheese on...umm hello? Yum!! Anyway, i'm getting hungry writing this, and can't wait to go home again. :)

This is like a fast food greek eatery. Good good. And pizza is decent. Nice change from the norm.

This place is tiny inside! Alot of tables in a small place. That being said I must have gotten lucky because it was almost empty when I went in this last Sunday afternoon. Which after reading some other reviews must rare. Service: The young lady working the counter was nice and answered our questions easily. Service was quick. And they gave us free samples of there pizza. For this alone I would have given 4 stars. Food: Pizza was so so. Either it just isn't that impressive or it was made a while ago and they were giving it out as sample as to not have to through it out. My wife had a gyro salad she said it was great and actually wanted to go back again 2 days later for another one. I had a traditional gyro the flavor was good but it seemed very plain as in not much to it, plenty of meat but not alot else. Let me be clear it tasted good and I would go back again but wasn't really impressed by it. But I know nothing about greek food so it is what it is. Like other reviews the Greek fries were..... Well they were thin regular fries with a little feta cheese on them, we hardly ate any of those because even for regular fries they were eh.. I would have given a solid 3 stars maybe a half if I could. Price: $24 At $12 per person I would have liked just a little more, something. I don't know just kinda felt eh. 2 stars. I would go back again as it was a great change of pace from the normal food around here. Overall a very solid 3 stars.

As a "Greek" restaurant, they "earn" 1 star, not authentic at all, just watered-down Americana gyro-pita-fare. They serve French fries, for God's sake! The souvlaki was meh. However, the homemade baklava was decent. I may be willing to try their pizza someday, which everyone knows is so Greek, right? Go to Apollo in Richland for closer-to-authentic Greek food, although it hasn't been run by the original Greek owners for nigh on 20 year, I was told there. Go to the Greek Islands Cuisine for fast food quality.

This is a great local place family owned and operated. It's a small place, so it's packed during peak hours as others have noted. If I'm there when it's that busy, I'll get take out and eat at my desk. We've had various gyros, the souvlaki and baklava. We've loved it all! I can't wait to go back and try another new to me dish.

This place has been all the rage with co-workers recently (office is down the street) and I finally got a chance to check it out this weekend. What has kept me from making it sooner? The size of the restaurant. This was my third attempt, and the first time I could get in the door. The place is tiny, and I wouldn't want to actually eat physically here for this reason. The gyro was good, I was disappointed that the standard didn't include lettuce, but there was a healthy amount of meat and tzatziki to keep me happy. I'm not sure why the "Greek Fries" are "Greek." I detected no difference from any other generic fry. Next time, I'll likely try the salad. The bakalava was delicious! I'll return, if I can get in the door.

Loved the lamb souvlaki... not over cooked and just the right marinade. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Gyro meat and tzajtziki was also good. Very fast service and obvious that they want to treat the customer right. Can't wait to try a pizza. For a take out/fast food kind of Greek restaurant we were very happy and will be back again.

I made it here today. I wish I could give it 2.5 stars instead of 2. The restaurant has a fast food feel to it. It's small, with low budget furnishings. You order at the counter, and fetch your own fountain drink. We ordered Gyros. Ate in. As I am not from here I have had many Gyros in my life. This one was not that great. It was a bit salty, lacked toppings, only a small tomato slice, lettuce, onions..needed more tomato and sauce for sure. The sauce was too thick, lacked flavor and was sparse, unlike gyro sauce I have had in the past And, we had to ask for extra. Had the Greek fries, they are just regular fieys with a small amount of feta sprinkled on top. Not that great. For what you get I find the price a bit high. Maybe Im being harsh as I grew up in a large city with many options for eating out. Including several Greek restaurants. So, I am reminiscent of gyros of the past. The Baklava, a Greek desert was very good, however.

I'm so sad to say this, but I came back today and was disappointed. Hopefully it was just an off day. The chicken in my gyro was dry and too salty. There was too much tzatziki...and it wasn't as good-- I don't think it was made from scratch...either that or they used too much greek yogurt. The lettuce had vinaigrette on it-- bad idea! The fries were still lackluster, but this time they tried to sprinkle some Johnny's seasoning salt on them. They really should try thicker fries with lemon juice, pepper, and oregano (it's bomb.com ). On the upside, they gave us a free sample of the pizza and it's good. Thin, soft crust and flavorful sauce and toppings. They deliver, too. And we saw someone eating a calzone and that looked divine. There seemed to be only two people working in the whole place: the cook and the girl taking orders, bussing tables, and bringing out food. Man, she was busy.

I love Greek food, but sadly the Tri-Cities is a wasteland when it comes to Greek restaurants. Sure, you've got Apollo, but it's SO FREAKIN' SLOW!! Well, finally, we've got another Greek place. Greek Islands is a great joint. It's what we've needed here for a long time. A hometown place with good food, good prices, decent portions and good, fast service. I always get a Gyro when trying a new Greek place and this one was good. I especially liked the pita, which I think was fried. It made it crispy on the outside, but chewy on the inside. The meat was fairly thin, but plentiful and flavorful. The "Greek fries" were kind of "meh". They weren't bad, but they were basically thin fried with feta on top. Nothing special. My dad opted for the chicken souvlaki , which was also very good. The chicken was tender and flavorful. All the makings of good souvlaki. Did I mention that despite the fact that they were packed to the rafters, all of this food came out in less than five minutes? Everything came out so quickly, which was surprising considering what we're used to. Problems? The place is tiny. There were lots of people standing around just waiting for a table, which led to a lot of congestion between customers and waitstaff, but I suppose you could have worse problems. Maybe if they do well enough they can expand. All in all, this is just what I've been waiting for: A decent Greek place. Hooray for variety!!

This little restaurant serves delicious, fresh food quickly and accurately. They even deliver within a three-mile radius, which is a real luxury around here. My favorite is their greek salad with chicken. It is always crisp and fresh, with delicious grilled chicken, a vinaigrette dressing, plus tzatziki and homemade breadsticks. It's addictive. My husband prefers the gyros, which are also delicious. I should try other things - I've heard their pizza is amazing, but I really like the salad. Service is friendly and quick. If we call our order in, it's ready when we get there. This is a great locally-owned restaurant. You should try it!

This place renewed my faith in Greek food. I always have the chicken (gyro) pita ($5.95) , sometimes with the salad, which ups it to $7.95. The salad is pretty okay, not amazing, but not boring. The pita is fantastic, but on the small side. I sometimes leave feeling hungry, still, which is usually when I don't get the salad. It is probably a better lunch place, since we Americans have our larger meals for dinner. I give this place 4 stars because, bottom line, the food is amazing and the setting is actually kind of neat. The crowd it draws is colorful and fun, the seating is casual, serve yourself fountain drinks, pay at the register before you eat. I like that it is that casual, but still feels like you're having a nicer meal than say, Subway. They would earn 5 stars if they lowered their prices, and I would probably go there more often.

The service was great, the food was tasty, but slightly overpriced considering you order at the counter. A number of vegetarian options which is fantastic. I'll go back

I always want Greek Islands to rock my world, but it always seems to just satisfy. The food is perfectly good but the prices are steep and I'm not sure I believe their claim that the reason for the higher prices is because they import their ingredients from Greece. I'm never unhappy when I go and yet I've only gone twice since it opened because it can't seem to stick on my cravings list. Solid 3 stars.

I waited forever for a place like this to open in the Tri Cities. We needed a place that serves real, big city style gyros. Not the pricey and mediocre "gyros plate" that takes forever and runs you $15... Quick, tasty, priced right, and oh so addictive. This is it. The lady who always works behind the counter at lunchtime is super nice, also. I love this place. I used to go all the way to the U district in Seattle to get those Gyros. They even have the correct wrappers...(gyros fans know what I mean) Now they're here!

So I happened to be in the area and decided to give this place a try. Not gonna lie, it was just okay. Service was quick and friendly which is why they get 3 stars. The place is clean and well kept and from what I could see, the kitchen is pretty clean too. I ordered a Gyro with fries, that was about 9 bucks and some same change. The pita was nice and fresh, the fries were standard fair nothing amazing. The fries have Feta and chopped parsley on top. Interesting. Not bad, I just thought it was interesting. Even with the Feta they were just kind of "okay". My Gyro was alright. The meat was kind of dried out a little and seemed kind of salty to me. I thought the tsatsiki sauce was pretty good., and the tomato and onion were fresh. They appear to have a pretty extensive menu, and I might give them another try for something else off the menu. I just wasn't impressed enough with the Gyro to go back again for that. They seem to cater more to the quick lunch crowd more than anything. Somebody mentioned Greek version of McDonald's. I wouldn't go that far. For a Gyro I would much rather go to Pita Pit. Azars in Spokane has a pretty righteous Gyro as well. I guess I don't get what everybody is so amazed about. It wasn't that great, but on the other hand it wasn't THAT bad either. It was just okay. Probably about a 2.5 stars for what I ate. The service was really good though, so I'll give them another shot some other day.

Locally owned, fresh cuisine, something different in Tri Cities! I have full on cravings for the lamb souvlaki. It is quaint inside, but service is always excellent. Very friendly family who runs this place, and I tip my hat to them for sharing their food.

Greek Island was my first experience with traditional Greek food. And while I have tried others since, this is my one stop place for delicious food! Hands down the best gyro I have ever had. The food is always constantly good too. Even my ever picky children love the food.

Great food! Friendly service! Every time we go in there, the girls are working their tails off because this place is busy!! So happy they do a great business! Keep up the good work! I have the gyros and they have been very tasty every time! Love the fries!

I LOVE this place. Great Greek food for reasonable prices. I love their solvang (sp?) and also have great Gyro's (I would recommend asking for the sauce on the side, just a personal preference). I haven't tried their pizzas, but they look pretty good. Also, LOVE how they deliver.

The only miss we've had so far was the souvlaki, which while good did not have enough on the plate for my husband (he drooled as I ate my gyro). I go almost weekly, I keep telling myself to try more things on the menu but the gyro salad is so good! The pizzas are the best in town, we got the gyro pizza during their sale and were hooked. It's a little expensive, but worth it.

Had my birthday lunch today here and really enjoyed it. Despite being a full place, our food came out fast. I got the grilled lamb plate and it was very tasty. The greek fries were good as well. My wife loved the fresh flavors, she had the gyro. We'll definitely be back. They even gave us a free sample of one of their pizzas which was quite good.

When I first walked in I wasn't sure how great the food was going to be. After eating there for lunch I believe this place serves the best Gyro in town. I am definitely recommending this place to everyone I know.

We always get take out so I can't speak to the environment, but I always get the Greek salad with gyro meat on it. I LOVE it! It is so good. My teenager sons love the meat calzones and daughter likes the fettuccine. Husband likes the Greek lasagna. Wish it was cheaper but it is tastes great!

My husband and I decided to try Greek Islands after reading reviews on here. I got the chicken gyro and my husband, the traditional gyro. We ordered extra sauce as suggested on here and were glad we did. The sauce was so yummy! And I thought the chicken gyro was very good. My husband also liked his gyro. I got the fries and he got the salad. I liked the fries but wished there was a bit more cheese on them. My husband didn't really like or dislike the salad. We ordered take out and were glad we did. The place itself isn't all that inviting. It reminded me more of an old ice cream shop as far as the setting. But the food was good!

Gyro Meat is good, but a bit scraggly and dried out if you order the plate, the fries are nothing special IE, It's like if you go to McDonalds, then to Albertsons, buy some crumbly Feta Cheese, and Bam, you have "Greek Fries" The Calzone was fresh and hot, and I was glad that they told me that it would be 15 Minutes for a fresh one, but I think, since the place was SLAMMED, they could have had these going all day, and had some fresh ones available. I will go back, but I will order over the phone first, and realize this is the only greek food outside of Seattle, so you will be paying a bit more then you think. People are very friendly, but overall, it's a costly bet.

The pizza was ok, but not great. It cost more than the some of the best in town. I went here because it was highly recommended. It certainly didn't live up to either the expectations or the cost. I would give it a 2.5 star if that was an option.
