Order for delivery was 25 minutes late on an already 1 hour delivery time due to complications with an online printer being down. That left me with having to call them to see where my order was and them barely knowing that it existed. Thankfully it showed up about 5 minutes later as I suppose the driver was already en route when I called. I've ordered delivery from here before and never had any problems, nor when I dined in the actual restaurant. Seems that the business may have dismantled between 2014-now because I never had any problems with them until tonight with that delivery issue. Ordered: Broccoli Beef Crab Rangoons Veggie Pad Thai All came fairly warm, but would have liked the crab rangoons to be a bit warmer upon delivery. Also, all tasted very good, which I've also never had a problem with before.

Almost forgotten about my order as I was waiting in front of their counter. I wonder how many shops can survive by doing that. Not to mention cheating me out of a rice when I ordered it in my order but did not pack it in my to go order. Joy. I'd say to come only if you need a last minute option. I'd give 1.5 star for the fact that 1 star isn't very nice. Update: to reinforce my 1 star review. They didn't even give me any utensils. Only to realize it when I get back... Sigh

When we don't have time to go pick up food, we sometimes opt for Stir because it's one of the few places in Renton that delivers. If you are looking for fancy Asian food, this is not the place for you. It's average food. Nothing too spectacular. They have a variety of Asian dishes; Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese. Their California Roll is dry and not worth it; it's very similar to sushi found at the Safeway Deli. Had their Hot & Sour soup, which I like bc they have big chunks of tofu but other than that, tastes just like any other Chinese restaurant. My coworkers seem to think the same about the food here. It's good, but only if you are confined to an office and cannot leave. If you are thinking about delivery, keep in mind it takes them roughly an hour to drive from Sunset Blvd to the Renton Highlands. This commute is usually less than 5 mins. So, only go here if it's your last resort. It's not awful tasting food, it's just overpriced for what it is. You should spend your money on better tasting Asian cuisine elsewhere.

Excellent food and great service! Our order came quickly and was fresh and the teriyaki chicken was moist and had great flavor. But the best dish was the fried prawns. They were cooked to perfection. We will be going back for sure!

Do not waste your time ordering from this place. It takes them 2 hours to deliver 10 mins away. Sadly this is the 2 time they have done this to me. To make things worse my food was cold when it got here. When I called to complain the staff was obviously very uninterested in what I had to say. I WILL NOT be ordering from them again. I suggest you save the frustration and order from somewhere else.

There was a time when this place rocked. They even had a grandma that used to hang out and she was really sweet. The food was always amazing. We had moved away and when we moved back to the Seattle area, we wanted to eat here. At first, I was impressed that the place did look better when we get inside but the service just was not good. The family that was there was gone and it seems to be a new family. I may be wrong, but it just did not feel like the same place anymore. The food, however, was GOOD, but it was different from what we remembered when we used to go weekly in the past. It did take a long time to get our food, and they had gaps when the food came out, basically, we would get two dishes then 5 minutes later we would get 2 more dishes then, 5 minutes later again, we got the rest. The place was not busy, and there was only one other table of people in the whole place. If the service was just better, I would give it a 4 star rating. I will add that the people who work there were nice, and did apologize and tried, but it just needs to improve.

Don't waste your time with this place The food is horrible the service is horrible the delivery guys are idiots!! When I called my order in I specifically asked if they could bring extra soy and sweet and sour sauce. Oh yeah no problem they say. I called back a few minutes later because it's been my experience with Chinese restaurants that they often forget so I asked them again just to remind them they said oh yeah no problem. Food takes an hour to get here it's cold there's no sweet-and-sour sauce and two packets of soy. So I sit down to eat and I say oh well then I realized I don't have a fork. They never put paper towels or utensils. So I call and ask for the manager she thought it was funny and said "sorry about that" and she would bring me a fork and soy sauce so about 30 minutes later the guy shows up and tells me "well we can't please everyone". I told him he was a scumbag and I paid $25 and one would think it would be right and he walked down the hallway mumbling to himself..... I come in town often to Seattle and I stay at this hotel but I will never order that Chinese restaurant crap from that place again I should have had a pizza!!

FOR DELIVERY SERVICE While not a 2 star place and not a 3 star place either, it was a solid 2.5, but saying it's 3 is akin to lying for me. Ordered: Braised Tofu - a hit for hubby. He really liked it. So much so he finished it. Sweet and Sour Chicken - Wouldn't know what the sauce was like because it wasn't included. Pretty much had breaded, deep fried chicken bits. You know, Chinese chicken mcnuggets. Beef Chow Fun - a little too sweet. The sweetness wasn't quite hoisin, but it tasted very sugar. We were not thrilled. Issues: No sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. Had to order 2 orders of rice (at $1.00 a pop). Most Chinese delivery places include rice and I'm glad I checked. For the TL;DR crowd: Food wasn't the best, but not the worst. Lack of checklisting before an order goes out makes me think this is not an organized restaurant who cares to have repeat customers. Would we order from them again? Not for a while. In the meantime, the hunt for good Chinese delivery continues.

Um....stood in the front for a while. Called out hello? I could hear people talking and was making loud noises but apparently they don't care about taking care of customers. So we just left. Ridiculous and sad. I will drive up 20 minutes north to china town. Forget this place. .

We ordered online for Christmas Eve pick up at 6:20pm in order to be able to feed young children quickly after coming home from a program. We arrived a little late at 6:30pm and were told the order was not ready and would take an additional 15 minutes. It was not ready until 7:10pm almost a full hour after the requested pick up time. We had even called that afternoon to confirm it would be ready at 6:20 and were told it would be. There was no apology, discount offered or anything to try to make up for the ruined Christmas Eve for us, our children and grandchildren.

Ordered on eat24. Eat24 said order confirmed by restaurant and deliver in 60 minutes. At 80 minutes we called in to check on its status and they apparently never got the order. Had to place a new order and were promised 45 minute rush delivery. Took 60 minutes and was missing an item. Called to let them know and it took another hour to get the missing item. No credits offered at all. Oh, and food was not very good. Very dry. Won't eat here again.

Don't waste your money. I ordered online. The map feature assured me that they deliver to my house. I placed an order and waited. Ten minutes later I got a phone call saying that they don't deliver to my house. They offered me a refund, but not till Monday when the manager was in. Instead of waiting till Monday for my money, I decided to drive the 15 minutes to pick it up. When I got home and started eating I was immediately disappointed. The food was disgusting. I had the Pad Thai and my friend had the Honey Walnut Shrimp. The Shrimp had some kind of nasty congealed gravy on top that jiggled when the plate moved. The shrimp was on the verge of spoiling, the walnuts were whole and not spread through the meal, and whatever the "Gravy" stuff was tasted disgusting. My Pad Thai was also awful. They didn't use peanut oil, freezer burned chicken that was overcooked, no egg whatsoever, and the noodles were HARD in places as though they'd been in a microwave. Worst. Food. Ever. When I called to let them know how bad my experience was, the woman on the phone ARGUED with me, telling me that I was wrong. "Honey Walnut Shrimp has gravy. Pad Thai doesn't have eggs. I checked the noodles, they're not hard." I wasn't asking for money back, I just wanted her to know that the kitchen was NOT on point. If I could give a zero, I would. Awful service and worse food.

We ordered California rolls, pot stickers, egg flower soup, and orange peel chicken. The soup, and chicken was good, the pot stickers were mediocre, and the Cali rolls were subpar at best.. When I ordered the roll, I thought it was something you couldn't mess up, but you can.....We appreciate that they deliver so close to the airport (we called a few other places and they would not deliver to the best western on international blvd).... For take out it was decent for what we ordered.

What the heck! It took 1.5 hrs to get our delivery order when our hotel is only 1.9 miles away. Seriously??!? Then I specifically said I need plates for FOUR people and guess what? Fail! Good for only 2. Also, the pad Thai was not pad Thai. It was equal to microwaveable noodles. Just an absolute fail.

I had this for lunch and they delivered the food for free. It was really delicious! For $5.95 the food came with an egg roll, fried rice and soup. I ordered the almond chicken and it was so flavorful and fresh. Everyone in my office that ordered also loved their food. I highly recommend this place!

Food was delicious. Manager was very nice and sweet. Great service. I would suggest ordering the orange peel chicken and the chow fun! Yum

DONT DO IT! The beef and broccoli was down right bad, the beef had freezer burn and a bluish tint to it. The chicken lo mein could have sent us to the hospital for food poisoning. We could smell the chicken in the car so we opened up the bag and the container at which point we thought we may vomit, it had spoiled and then been cooked. Seriously terrible food. The only reason for the one star is because of the crab Rangoon, it was not half bad.

Ordered here a few months ago after a long day. Ordered food at 7pm. Waited 2 hours then called. No delivery should be 2 hours long! I was extremely hungry and could've shopped and made my own food (better) by this time. They assured us the food was en route. Another hour passed. It was TEN at night and all we wanted was dinner. The man on the phone apologizes and tells us, " the order was misunderstood, but is on the way and is free of charge because of the mix up" as it should be. He read me my order and then again said it was on the house. Waiting 3 hours for a delivery!? Eleven o'clock at night rolls around and by this time , my family and I are extremely hungry and are tired of waiting. A male with an Asian accent then answers the phone. Very rudely stating , we never ordered and we need to pay and they will deliver. Uh, WHAT!? My family has been sitting hungry for FOUR hours waiting for your restaurant and giving you multiple chances. Then try to charge us again because of YOUR mistake!? Seriously the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Seems like a lot of reviewers have had delivery problems as well. People have delivery because of the convenience. The food I have ordered before was great! But I will unfortunately not be ordering again and letting my friends know of the experience I've had. At the least you could've offered a complimentary meal for making my family go without dinner. This is unacceptable.

I order Stir all the time and I love this place. But tonight I ordered off grub hub about 5 minutes before they closed. I was working from home and didn't even notice they hadn't delivered yet. They had closed early for a meeting and didn't get my order but still called and asked if I wanted it. They went out of their way to get me a much needed work break. 10 stars for Stir, 0 stars for grub hub. And of course the food was still amazing!

We looked at their Happy Hour menu online and thought it seemed pretty good, so we decided to go. All of our food was good, but service was slow considering we were the only ones in there. However, the big surprise came when we got our bill, which was much larger than we were expecting for our Happy Hour items. We asked our server about it, he mumbled something about 'no more Happy Hour', and that was the end of it. If you're going to advertise something on your website, I would recommend actually following through with it when customers come in. We won't be back.

I just tried the spicy Korean noodle soup and it was delicious! It was pleasantly spicy and it's the perfect food for the winter months ahead. I loved it! Thank you Stir I'm never disappointed!

It's not the best but good when you would like to stay in and have chines food delivered :). I think that it would be a better place if they allowed certain modifications on some items due to allergies and if it were a bit more consistent.

I ate here before checking Stir's Yelp reviews. It seems reviewers aren't happy with the take-out and delivery options. The reason I came here for lunch was because Stir's outside sign says "No MSG". Now, how I should I say this - while the sign says "No MSG" - I can't tell you definitively that my food did or didn't have MSG. I ordered the "Three Fries" as an appetizer and Mongolian Beef as my entrée. Before anything else arrived at the table, the friendly gal serving me brought out "hot" tea in a metal kettle. She kept touching the sides telling me it wasn't hot yet. I wondered, Lordy, how is it going to heat up just sitting on the table? I finally tried the tea. Yep, it was completely devoid of heat. Oh dear. My server came back and touched the tea kettle again to check the temperature. I think she already knew it wasn't warm because she apologized that the tea was cold. Next arriving at my table was complimentary egg flower soup. Though the soup was thick with corn starch, it was pretty good - made better by its tiny bits of fresh carrot. The Three Fries appetizer came with strips of fried taro, onion rings, and yam fries. I was intrigued with the taro fries, having never seen them before. The taro fries were ecru/white with brown speckles, and dense in texture. My server indicated that her husband concocted this dish, which came with a bright orange dipping sauce. Not bad. I'm wondering why I haven't seen taro fries anywhere before. They're a great idea. My server told me that taro is healthy, containing lots of fiber. The onion rings and yam fries in the dish were good, but likely pre-packaged. My Mongolian Beef, served over crunchy noodles, was delicious. The meat was of an excellent quality and the dish's sauce tasty. Also, I thought the chef did a great job on balancing the proportions of beef, green onion, white onion and chili. The Mongolian Beef automatically comes with fried rice. Other than Panda Express at Renton Landing - I'm not aware of any other Chinese restaurants down on the Renton flats - so I'd like to come back to Stir, but need to be more confident that Stir really doesn't use MSG.

Horrible location but the service and food, as always are really great! Been here at least 4 times now and it's always a pleasure. Almost always get the deal on the back of the menu where you order 2+ entrees and you get a soup, some egg rolls, and a rice of your choice. And we also get hot tea, do not know if that is part of the deal, but it's good. Most recent visit we had a party of 3, came in just before 11pm. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, general tso's chicken, and the Mongolian beef from the back of the menu. We all got our soup pretty quickly. I got the hot and sour, and it's pretty standard. Then we got our eggrolls right after we finished. After that our entrees came in one by one followed by our fried rice. Hands down BEST Mongolian beef I've had here in WA. Nice big tender pieces, really tasty sauce, and lots of caramelized onions! And both chicken dishes, again really tasty sauce, nice tender large pieces, not too much breading. The fried rice is pretty average. And enough food for everyone to take some home! Love, love this place! I just wish we had one closer, but it's worth the drive. :)

WHY?! WHY???!! WHY???!!!!!! I got stuck (I started it hehe) talking about chinese food on a thread today and I didn't want to go Panda Express so I thought I would give Stir a chance. Besides, you can order online and that is AWESOME! That is a reason to order from them in and of itself! After reading all the reviews about cold deliveries, I opted to pick up the order myself - so I thought to myself - no worries! this is going to be cake! Did I bother to read my own review?? Of course not! I was a little piggy, and ordered the following items: *Veggie rolls - it was probably the best thing I ate *Combination fried rice - I'm pretty darn sure the shrimp wasn't cooked all the way through *Six flavor beef - the beef was pretty well darn cooked through BUT! the flavor was pretty good *General Tso's Chicken - Ugh.... the flavor was good. It was just OK - alright! *Combination Chow Fun - now... see ... this is supposed be like my favoritest, but the chicken is all hard and there's so many onions and it's just so not that good. And I tried the rice first so now I'm afraid of the shrimp. It's just sad. I did mention that I was a piggy... *Eggplant with Garlic Sauce This is another favorite and I'm so disappointed with everything else that I haven't touched this yet. I should, because usually this is the dish that makes me the happiest. Ok - going to take a break and then see if that eggplant is any good. Yep..... no. The sauce was good but the eggplant was pretty sad. I did take pictures though! So next time I feel like chinese, I'll read my own review.

Although their food was great (if overpriced) the service was pretty bad. They brought my grandfather all three courses of his meal at the same time and wouldn't wait for him to situate his plates correctly before shoving more plates on the table. This restaurant is pretty well known for serving really good food with consistently bad service (at least a ping my friends in the area). Too bad to; my grandfather loves Chinese food but he said he'll never go here again.

I orderd online delivery and it got here right on time 30min tops!! The chicken chow was good brockly beef was great but bbq pork was a lil funny. Over all great food, fast delivery.

Tried the kung pao beef noodles and coconut yellow curryy. Huge helpings. The delivery boy was five minutes early and the food was hot and fresh. The vegetables were crisp tender, and finally of all finallies...I found a kung pao dish in the Seattle area that has kick to it! I was at Yea's Wok last week and it was nowhere near the flavor of this kung pao. The coconut curry was good as well. The eggs rolls were crisp fresh and served with a sweet and sour sauce. All the food I tried was good.

So, I had order our food, Before checking these reviews.. When I saw them, I wasn't expecting too much but I believe a lot of these people are just miserable and want to pretend they're food critics. We got our food before our expected Time.. The food was hot and yummy. One reviewer did hit the nail on the head.. The food is kinda like Panda Express, in the sense that it was a little bland.. "Not bad and not complaining" but just needs little more spices. I have picky eaters in my house hold and everyone ate their whole plate. I think it's defiantly a restaurant we will order from again. And defiantly hit the spot for Celebrating the New Year(2014) :) -Thanks!

My sister and I are staying at a hotel for Emerald City Comicon, and this restaurant's flyer was in the front office. Upon finally getting everything set up in the room and deciding what to order, we called Stir Restaurant at 9:35pm and got everything ordered. I was quoted 40-55 minutes. Jump to an hour and 15 minutes later, we're tired, hungry, and just want to eat and go to sleep. I call for an update and I am told the driver left a few minutes ago and should be here soon. Fair enough, the restaurant (according to Google maps) is about 8 minutes away. Jump to another 40 minutes later (It's 11:30 at this point), and no food. I call for another update and I'm immediately met with "I'm sorry, we're backed up on orders and he should be there in a few minutes." I let the woman answering the phone know that it would have been appreciated if she had let me know our food would be 2 hours out when I ordered it, instead of giving a false delivery time. She apologized again and said our food would be there in a few minutes. Our food finally arrived about 15 minutes later. The delivery driver was nice, but at that point I was pretty frustrated and gave him a crappy tip (I usually tip 20% or more) and after I'd signed he started walking away with the food in the bag... I had to call after him to get him to turn around and give us our food. Finally, we got to eat. Hoping it was absolutely worth a two hour wait, we were sorely disappointed. The chicken teriyaki was edible, but not great in any sense of the word. Having been kept in the same container as the teriyaki, the salad was warm and gross. The only passable items was the white rice (which you basically can't screw up) and the crab rangoon which was decent. I would not order from here again, and I'm pretty pissed that I spent $30-something dollars on this...

Food is ok. Delivery is the worst I have ever experienced. 90 min on a thurs? Called after one hour, the guy left 20 min ago... Didn't show up for another 40. Making a list, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and ****ing would take less time than Stir would take to deliver these greasy entrees.

This place was not bad, but it was not good either. The food was passable, but the service was distracted at best. It might have been that we were there on New Year's Day, but, they definitely did not have their "A" game on. General Tso's was pretty decent, but the rest was kind of bland and uninspired. I think if it was cheaper, it would be a better value. The questionable garbage in the parking lot was not particularly appealing either.

I have never eaten Kung Pow chicken that tasted as good as the dish I got at Stir. I ordered it 4 star hot, and some crispy chicken wings, and I loved it so much I ordered it again the following week. Both times were amazing!

If I could give this place no stars I would. Stir is on my way home so I decided to stop and pick up a quick to go order for dinner. I will usually give a place three chances but the food here was so bad that this is the last time I will ever go there. I ordered green curry, unfortunately it looked more like gray curry. Super greasy, no flavor except salt, grease, and red pepper. And onion, lord the onions, it was like they chopped up two of the suckers and stuck it in my container. I like onions but this was overboard. It didn't even have any coconut milk in it. And speaking of the red pepper, they didn't ask me how hot I wanted my food, I kilter my food spicy so I usually order a 4 out of 5, this is at least a 10 out of 5. Even the white rice that came with my order was greasy. All in all this was a complete waste of money and the food was completely INEDIBLE & I had to throw it away. My only consolation for wasting $10.99 on this is that maybe I could save someone else from making the same mistake. Don't eat here.

Still awesome food and pretty decent service, I don't know why so many people have gripes about their service. My water glass never went below half and they even helped put our leftovers into the containers. Mapo tofu is still highly recommended by me along with the wok seared cod fillet with szechuan sauce. All the fish dishes I've had are very fresh and delicious. I love the spicyness of the food! The honey walnut shrimp that I commented on before is good, nothing wrong with the taste, just the price for the amount you get. Other then that though, the prices in relation to the food you get is great! I also noticed that they upgraded their menu, without upping their prices which is awesome! The menu now has pictures of the majority of the dishes so you can see pictures before you order, I really recommend you check this place out before judging based on the reviews and ratings here. I still have no idea why they have such poor reviews. It's a great place for Chinese food in the area! :) PS. They also deliver, which is great!

Went in here on a Saturday, ordered some food to go. Food was not good, I could have went to panda express instead. The staff are friendly, and service is good. They just need to work on the quality of the food. I'd go back and give them another shot.

We ordered through Eat24 who does the payment and coordinates the delivery of the food. We have now been waiting for OVER TWO HOURS FOR OUR DELIVERY, and it is on the shoulders of the restaurant-- not eat24. The customer service specialists on Eat24 called the restaurant multiple times on my behalf to find out what the hold up was.... the final time, someone picked up and said "The Food is on the way!!!" and hung up on the representative!! I cannot believe this unbelievably terrible customer service. I will never get STIR delivered again!

This review is so mixed for me but I decided to settle on 4 stars because the food is just amazing in my opinion. Years ago I used to order delivery from them (yes they deliver!) because my housemate at the time didn't know how to boil water. The food was always so freaking good!!! I usually ordered the sweet and sour chicken or Kung pao chicken and it was never anything less than delicious. Now onto my more recent experience... Food = still totally awesome! But this time I've had the chance to actually dine in multiple times. The restaurant is always strangely empty and the service is really less than subpar. Also the parking lot is a bit tricky if you're coming from the south. Get caught trying to get there going north on sunset and you're in a pickle! If you're looking to be waited on hand and foot, skip dining in here. If you just want to stuff your face with some bomb Chinese food then this is the first place you should think of! Delivery fees based on how far away they are going. *side note: I have never tried the Seatac location, only the Renton one

This place must be ran by Asian americans? I know that the Asian culture (and I AM Asian) likes to eat stickyish rice but the bbq fried rice we ordered was just so dry that I couldn't even pick them up with chopsticks. The won ton soup broth was extremely salty and it was halfway filled in the bowl. The beef and broccoli would have been good if the beef had not tasted fishy. The vegetables in the cashew chicken was definitely not fresh. Who knows, maybe it's better if you actually sit-in. I most likely will not find out, this meal was truly disappointing.

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. From the outside, this place looks really bad. But, Stir Restaurant has a very great location, awesome visibility and easy parking. I went in early Saturday evening, there was no wait and about 5 other parties in the place with one server. She was attentive and average. As a very white person would do, I ordered the cold BBQ pork appetizer which was cheap, delicious but low to mid-quality. When it was time for the entree my guest had the phad thai (spelling?) and I had some great noodles, I don't remember the name but they were similar to hong kong style noodles but not crispy. I loved it, seriously. I ate all of it and I don't normally finish everything in Asian style restaurants. The refills for diet soda are 50 cents. Whatever, I'm cool with that. I tipped just under 6 bucks and the total was about $34.00. Overall good experience, three stars for sure. I don't know why others have bad experiences, perhaps they are expecting a quality high class restaurant just off of I-405 in Renton.

I still haven't found a Good Place in Renton for Chinese Food. The Inside of Stir Restaurant is really nice, but it seems I haven't had the craving to come to this place since October 2006, Head else where Yelpers. Hopefully The Owners/Management will Improve this place & maybe see why Yeas Wok in Newcastle is So Good!!! =D The Fried Ice Cream is yummy though w/ Strawberry Sauce! I'm still searching for the Best Chinese in Renton... =/

The first time we tried ordering online we waited about an hour before someone called us to say they didn't see our order come through and they were preparing it now. It would be delivered within 30 minutes. Someone finally arrived 45 minutes after that. We were starving and the food was no longer warm. We live 3 miles away ON THE SAME STREET. I hoped it was a one time fluke so last night my husband and I weren't feeling well and wanted delivery. Something spicy to clear our sinuses and make us feel better. I ordered online 3 items and the wait said 45 minutes. After an hour passed I called and asked if my ordering was coming soon. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then assured it was on its way. Less than 10 minutes later (probably about the time it takes to drive from Stir to my house) the food arrived. The hot and sour soup was just what I needed to help my cold but the food was all luke warm. In the time it took we could've called any number of other Chinese places in the area for take-out, driven our sick butts there and been back home in our jammies with full tummies before Stir arrived. I think that's what we'll do next time!

I've been an avid proponent of not ordering from here since 2007... hated the food, hated the service in the restaurant... but an injury prevented me from cooking and all other avenues of delivery had been exercised. So I bite the bullet, look at the menu online, order, and tell the family... "if it sucks I told you so". I place my order, which has many more options on the online order site than the menu on the website. Had to go back and forth just to make sure I ordered what I wanted. Then I got a call from the restaurant that one of the items I wanted wasn't available, can they sub? Sure why not? But the main issue I had was with the sweet and sour chicken. I order this for my super picky eater, and unfortunately it came with onions and peppers! He refused eating it, even though the sauce was separate. So be aware that it comes this way, even though it's not in the description. Now for the GOOD!! OMG! The Volcano Crispy Beef and the Blazing Street Noodles... I could tell my family to Eff off and I could live off this forever... seriously... these 2 dishes alone could carry this restaurant. But I also had the combo Phad Thai.. 3 star... Papaya salad.. 2 star(please get it right... I would love to order again, but needs more fish sauce and some meat!) Over all would have to give 3 stars this time... please keep it up.. I will always order from a solid 3 star.

My comparison-honey court in International District in Seattle. The service and place was decent. The place could use an upgrade-change the plastic tables that had a sticky residue, properly fix the crack window in front, and hide the kitchen area. The food was good and that's a 3 star rating. It is a nice suburban Chinese restaurant to get Chinese food. But what I was most disturbed was the portion size to what was paid. We had a living social deal--honey walnut prawns, Mongolian beef, and 4 cups of rice equated to $29 bucks! And I left unsatisfied that's saying a lot. I'd get the same amount of food at the place above for 25 bucks and I'd have food to take home. If you live in the area, this is probably a nice neighborhood place to get some Chinese food but expect to pay more if you want more.

Pleasantly surprised! Food was so good and great portion size. We had food delivered very promptly. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to order in.

Pass by this restaurant all the time. Found a coupon offer on restaurant.com so decided to give it a shot. $15 off with a minimum purchase of $22.50 seemed like a decent offer. 3 stars is somewhat generous but I'm giving them 3 stars for the um... Customer Service. So like other reviews I read before heading here, the restaurant was empty. Ok, a woman and daughter were leaving but the entire time we were there, it stayed empty. Eating out often, you realize this means something most of the time. And not something great. Joe ordered the Firey Honey Chicken which one might think would be a little spicy from the name.. He likes spicy.. It was not. But it was fine once he added about 3 large tablespoons of Sriracha. It was neither disgusting nor was it really, really yummy. I ordered the Roasted Duck w/Chinese Greens. It took longer to come out which I was ok with and the first couple pieces were good. It's hard to mess up roasting a duck. You would think... 3rd piece was warm at the surface and almost ice cold towards the center! DIS-A-PPOINT-ING. I called the waitress over immediately and had her feel how cold it was! She brought it back to the kitchen. I was polite about it so didn't worry when normally I don't like my plate going back to the kitchen and then eating it after the 2nd time it's been brought out... You never know.. But she brought it back out, looked like it was re-plated w/less Chinese Greens and less duck but whatever. I had already decided I wasn't coming back to this place.

We've been here a few times now, but our last time was probably our last; it was just a weird experience all around. We arrived at pretty much the same time as another couple, only they were getting take-out and we were eating in. We were told to wait and someone would be with us shortly. Our wait turned out to be just a matter of seconds. But, once seated, we sat there for about ten minutes, ignored, while two different staff people were up front helping this other couple with their take-out order (?). Finally, our server arrived. Note to self: When you are going to a place you have been before and have Yelped, be sure to read your old review first. Once again, we ordered the pot stickers. Once again, we found them to be pretty meh. Only this time, I also thought they had a bit of a funk about them. (More on that later.) Our appetizer (the aforementioned pot stickers) arrived relatively quickly, but our main courses took a bit longer. But, as I'd noticed at earlier visits, though I've never seen a lot of people eating in at Stir (this last time, for most of our meal, ours was the only table occupied), they do seem do a pretty hefty take-out and delivery business, so I guess that explains why there were many orders before ours. For our main courses, we had General Tso's Chicken and Honey Walnut Prawns. Both were ok, but neither blew us away. And, like the pot stickers, the General Tso's had a bit of a funk about it. This may or may not have been MSG, but there was definitely an odd taste (that I wish I could better describe) that I had not noticed on previous visits. Still, we ate. And, about halfway through our meal, another couple came in, so we were no longer alone in the dining area. Apparently, they had a coupon of some sort, which prompted our server to come over and ask us if we also had a coupon. Later, when she brought the check and my husband reached for his wallet, she informed us that, "credit card is best." Like I said, weird experience all around. We've been reasonably satisfied with Stir in the past. But, the whole place has always had a bit of funk about it, and now the food does too. Will probably not be back...

This place has the worst possible location right by the freeway in a rundown part of downtown Renton but the food is above average. Would have made 4 stars but their delivery service is very poor. I'm happy to know their business is going well but not at the expense of waiting for 1.25 hours for some food!! Otherwise, decent pricing and service if your planning on going in and sitting down.

I order on-line through a third Arty, inadvertently. The delivery charge was slightly higher than what the restaurant charges. The delivery time was reasonable, I think it took 20-30minutes. So about the food: broccoli beef (beef was chew and broccoli was fresh with good taste), egg drop soup was tasteless, the sweet and sour chicken was good once you covered it in sauce, and the fried rice was just OK. Overall it was OK and that is about it. I will continue to search for good Chinese food in the sky way area.

This was not just the worst Chinese food I had ever had but it was the worst food period! Couldn't even eat it. Super salty and garlicky! Yuck! The only reason it gets one star is because the site makes me rate it...I say 0 hands down.

  • Masa M.

Ok. It's about time we get some set of food standards in this city. We gave this place two separate chances and they failed on both accounts. I'll write a review about today's "meal" while it's still fresh in my mind (unfortunately). This review is soley based on our take-out experience. I cannot rate the in-room dining, but the staff seemed nice enough so they earn one star for that. The food, on the other hand, scores a ZERO. Just like my previous order pick up during a peak dinner hour, this place was empty which should have been my sign to get back in my car, but I so wanted to see if they improved their menu items. My wife, son and I spent the entire day at the lake having only eaten a light breakfast in the morning, so we were starving. Anything remotely good would have been satisfying, but we made a bad choice with Stir. Here was our take-out order: * Kung Pao Chicken * Sweet and Sour Pork * Jiajian Myun * 1 order of steamed rice * 1 order of brown rice (I'll explain why we ordered to different rices in a moment) Total order price with small tip = $35 First up, the Kung Pao Chicken. Being that it's Cinco De Mayo today, the management may have elected to choose today as let's-serve-our-customers-unfresh-food-day. The vegetables were passable, but the chicken was hardening, indicative of over-frozen chicken -- this, however, was the best dish of the night...yes, folks, it gets worse from here :( Next, the Sweet and Sour Pork. If you are expecting the Korean/Chinese light-brown sweet/sour sauce, be prepared to open a container filled with what looks like blood when you get your food home. The pork was also not fresh as the strong venison smell indicative of past-due unfreshness emanated through the artificial-smelling sauce. You will find better Michelin Star-rated sweet & sour pork at Panda Express compared to this atrocity (which my wife pointed out -- and I agree with her). Sigh...now, on to the Jiajian Myun...it's sad that I have to write this review, but the management at this restaurant are either going to have to turn this place around or be prepared to get shut down as there is absolute risk of food poisoning. I will write later if any of my family or myself come down with anything (hopefully not). Ok, back to the jianjian myun. My wife is Korean (directly from Seoul). She understands that she can't get the same qualithy of this dish that she can get at home. For me, hailing from LA and having frequented KoreaTown back in my day, I have my set of standards, too, but I'm forgiving in Seattle. Pretty good jianjian myun does exist up here...but you WON'T find it at Stir. People of both Chinese and Korean decent will be absolutely offended by this dish. Surprisingly, there were Chinese guys cooking tonight (WTF?). The sauce is not "jiajiang" in the least. Rather, it's just mapo-tofu sauce poured over spaghetti noodles, minced porked and an obscene amount of string beans. My wife couldn't stop shaking her head with every bite. We were both getting angrier with every bite. Lastly, the rice...oh, the rice. Rice is the most important part of an Asian meal -- it's sad that I have to rhetorically state that here. When I place my order, I tried to order two orders of brown rice, but the guy taking my order put me on hold to ask the kitchen staff "how long will it take to make more brown rice?" He returned to the phone to tell me he only had enough brown rice for a single order. We were starving, so we elected to order one order of brown and one order of white rice. When I brought the food home, to our horror, the brown rice was old, crusty and inedible. It literally had the sour smell of rice that's multiple days old. The thought of an Asian cook scooping that rice and putting it into the container pissed me off and still pisses me off to no end. I thought to drive the 20 minute journey back to this place just to throw the rice back at the restaurant manager's face, but I elected to calm down and think hard about my Yelp review instead. To Stir Management: either improve your food quality standards quickly/immediately or shut down before people get seriously ill from eating your food. #seriously

i love that they have delivery, pick up and dine in! this is our go to place for chinese and we have tried all 3 options, and the online delivery is very convenient. all dishes tried were very tasty. so far my favorite is the fried rice and seafood special in white wine sauce. will definitely be back

Stir is one of my favorite places to order online. They're always very fast, and reliably good. Reading some of the other reviews I realize other people haven't had the same experience, but my personal one is that they're darn tasty, reasonably priced and I'm glad they deliver!

We went during an early afternoon lunch on a sunny day, so perhaps this explained the completely empty restaurant. First walking in, this place did not impress me. 70's decor included wood paneled walls, old light fixtures, etc. This place did not scream hip and trendy Asian fusion. But, the seats were comfortable and there was ample space so I couldn't complain. What really bummed me out was that they no longer serve sushi. Clearly printed on their menu including detailed pictures of their sushi rolls, the courteous server advised me that they are in transition and that they no longer serve sushi or at least 3 items listed under their "grill" menu. WTH?! Completely threw me for a loop since I wasn't going to satiate my craving. We ended up settling for their other dishes which I have to admit, did not disappoint. The 6-flavor beef was my absolute favorite. Soft, juicy, tender pieces of beef marinated in all type of spices, grilled with onions and chili peppers, this dish had all the right flavor and just the right amount of kick that woke up your tastebuds. Their honey almond chicken was sweet and savory, and their sweet basil chicken and veggies was just as delicious. The prices are reasonable and the food portions are pretty generous. I really was satisfied with the food that we chose, but was still disappointed to be teased by pictures and their pseudo-offering of sushi.

Just ordered from this place via delivery, really should have checked Yelp first. The order came to 50 bucks for 3 entrees, 1 pork fried rice, 1 order of potstickers, and 1 order of barbecue pork. The delivery was on time, however, upon opening the bag after the driver departed we found that the potstickers were missing, and they had sent regular rice instead of pork fried rice. Which they had charged us $9.00 for!! On top of that, the entrees were loaded with huge chunks of fatty meat and were really low quality. Basically we're about to throw it all in the trash. Never again.

I love this restaurant! Every time I come back I am grateful they are still there! The restaurant is always empty, so there takeout business must be good. I will be honest the hostess could be better, but you can't beat the food! I personally love the Blazing Street Noodles(wide rice noodles with spicy chicken), the volcano crunch beef, and the sweet potato noodle dish. The building is an old Hurfey Burger and the entire place could use a really good scrub down/ remodel, but in my mind not to sacrifice my access to my favorite Chinese food.

Made an order for delivery, and upon receiving it, felt happy. The presentation was nice, and the food smelled great....upon my first bite however, I was deceived. The rice was dry and looked like it had been sitting in the cooker for the entire day. The chicken was dry, and had fatty pieces as well as pieces that where so brittle, you couldn't even chew it. My girlfriend and I had about 9 pieces of chicken that we picked through and set aside because the texture was disgusting. The sauce's where fine, but the breading was soggy and not crispy as it should be. I wonder if they present dine in customers with the same quality of food as they do to those of us who order delivery. What was supposed to be a nice friday night dinner with me and the mrs.,turned in to a bummer dinner that we ended up throwing away. I'm not a crap talker by nature, and I give all places a sporting chance; However, this is one place I will not be dining in, carrying out, or having delivered.

I have only ordered delivery, so I can't speak to the environment of the restaurant, but the food is unremarkable to mediocre at best. It is pretty inconsistent as I've ordered the same dish more than once and have yet to see the same thing twice. But for lunch at work, it's something I thought could be a nice change of pace. However, their delivery takes a freakin' long time! They always say it will take 45 min to an hour, but I've had it take up to 1 hr and 45 min. on more than one occasion. My last two orders have had the added bonus of being WRONG in addition to ridiculously late. I am vegetarian, so I always specify that on orders. Both orders came with meat, but of course I didn't notice until the guy leaves. So I called the place and both times the woman says she has to check and I can hear her arguing with someone in the background, presumably the cook. Then she comes back to the phone and says she'll send the driver right away with the right order. Why I need to wait on the phone while she yells at the cook I have no idea. But then there's another hour wait for the real order. Today, placed the order at 11:30 am. Received the right order at 2:15 pm. Suffice it to say, I will not order from them again. Not worth it!

I was disappointed. First the good .. excellent delivery time. Now the mediocre: I like the plastic food containers. They're great for the left overs to go in the fridge and permit you to see what's in them. I really liked the beef chow fun. The beef was tender and the noodles and sauce delicious. The BBQ spare ribs were really good, but there weren't many of them for the price. Now the bad.. the Mongolian beef was mostly made up of under-cooked onions. I like onions, but not so many and not so raw. I did ask that they hold the mushrooms, just in case they use them, but there was hardly anything but some beef and a lot of onions. In another order I had nothing but chicken and mushrooms in a dish that usually doesn't have mushrooms. The worst this time was the rice. It was from the bottom of the rice cooker and might even have been from a day earlier. It was white rice, burned brown, and gummy. They were still open another couple of hours so should have had good rice to serve. The easiest thing to cook was the worst. What bothers me the most is that it was easy to tell that the rice was crap and whoever scooped it up had to know and should have just said they were out. I've tried Stir twice, but won't be back. NOT RECOMMENDED

Really don't know why all the negative feedback. It seems most people are complaining about the delivery. I always take out and I love the food. Its fresh and very inexpensive. Have eaten here over probably close to 20 times and never had any issues. Love the Singaporean rice noodles and their egg foo young is awesome.

Renton is really lacking great Chinese food. I think Stir has changed hands multiple times, but they have yet to find a recipe that works. The food isn't bad, but it's not good. I think lack of competition is the only thing keeping this place afloat. It's in about the highest possible traffic area at a major highway interchange, but when you pass the lot, there is always ample parking. I don't know if these places are afraid to use traditional seasoning and flavors, but when it's all said and done this place like so many others taste like the Chinese food you get in the mall. The ratings here are generous, when you read most people say it's average, but who wants to go out and pay for average food, not I.

Stir my appetite, that's what it did. Stir... Stir different cuisines into one restaurant. Sure. Stirrrrr... lalala I will say I do like the concept and the restaurant as a whole. They seemed to put it together really well since it opened. Nice booth seats, cool chand, fish tank, the cool shade that ripples in the wind just outside the window (which looks neat with the rippling shadows produced), the cursive "Stir"... good-lookin'. I don't mean to call out the new restuarants, but I don't understand the minor sloppy things spread out all around (call me picky, but i got the finest eye for small details). Like my booth: nice material, no rips, clean solid table... one of the single window blinds had an inch portion broken off. a few booths down, all the window blinds were even but 3 that were flipped flat so they looked like a thick bar blocking daylight. Quite a few typos. And my receipt had Stir Rest at top... for short or printer error? Seemed peculiar... Stir... Rest... Service was cool. The gentleman seemed rather formal with his constant use of the word "sir". He seemed nice though plus a pleasant aura. He misunderstood me when he he asked what kind of rice with my honey garlic chicken; white or fried (which i could get with tofu)? Fried, I said. I didn't know he assumed it as a separate dish, I thought I was asking for the small side the maybe came with it. Oh well, next time we know. Good guy, though. One thing that did surprisingly catch my attention was the lady in silky green shirt and silver pants. she came by once to check on me; is she an owner? pardon my detail comin' up, but she was a slight, say, distraction(?) when she was up facing an opposite table of mine (eating with family[?]). A "good" one at that? Let's just say the silver pants were attracted to the curves of the "pants area". She was just a cute piece to look at----*ahem*---LOL, moving along... When it comes down to it: Nice place, good food, a nice atmosphere unique among the others, and just make sure you preferably come from the street north of it (that'll save ya some stress).

Terrible service, worse food, oh yeah, I have I mentioned yet THERE WAS HAIR IN MY CHICKEN!! Not a single hair mind you, but it looked like someone had gotten a haircut in the back moments before my chicken hit the wok. I understand that restaurants make mistakes everyday, but there is NO excuse for this happening. Staff wasn't apologetic at all, and the only severance they offered was to recook the dish. Didn't offer to not charge us or offer us a dessert or anything. I was blown away... I wouldn't come back here if the owner came to my house and told me I could eat for free the rest of my life.

Food was good, decent portion size, ok service, unless you have it delivered that took more than two hours. I was hungry two hours ago! Lol restaurant was dirty, dusty and gross. If I eat there again it will be because the food itself was decent.

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. This was hands down the worst delivery experience AND food I've ever gotten. It took them 2 hours to deliver my food, the food wasn't hot when it got to me and the order was wrong (beef pad thai? No thanks.). Do not order from this place, its not worth the cost and the food is not even mediocre. I called after an hour and 1:45 minutes to cancel my order and they refused saying they had just left. Save your money.

I placed an order for delivery and was shocked when I got my total.....$68.84! I only ordered two things of pad thai + some fried rice & some cokes. I went ahead and placed the order since I was super lazy and my girlfriend and I didnt want to cook/go out. I figured at that price we should be getting some quality food. Needless the say the food SUCKED. First it took them nearly an hour to deliver the food. We live in the Landing which is like a 4 minute drive away from their store so it shouldnt have taken THAT long to get to us. Secondly, there was hardly any flavor and we both ordered 4's on the spicy chart. The food was cold and the cokes were starting to become room temp. I honestly wouldn't bother with this place again. For the money we spent, I would have rather driven up to Bellevue and get some quality food for the same price. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Please do not eat here. I don't think this place is sanitary, the bathroom sure isn't and kitchen doesnt look like it either. I didn't like that a serving of steam rice comes in a little tea cup and you have to pay for each additional cup if you want more. Come on, man! I need more rice than that. The fried chicken wings weren't that good but the beef n broccoli was pretty good. But knowing how dirty this place looks makes the food not so enjoyable. Eat at your own risk!!

After reading the reviews, I am still a fan. I love Egg Foo Yung and they have it. Not all Chinese Restaurants in Seattle have it. I love their EFY. I try to go at least once a week or have it delivered. I haven't had anything else from Sir. Maybe I should only still to what I like.

horrible service. do not order online. they conveniently lose orders and then fail to even bother updating the order status. I placed my order at 6:40, the site claimed the food would be here by 7:40. It's 9 PM now and I have had to make three separate phone calls to even get them to recall my order and give me a delivery time. They failed to rectify the situation in any way beyond a $5 reduction from my $6 tip. Upon the third call at now 9 o'clock, they say oh twenty minutes more- after telling me it would be thirty minutes from 8 o'clock. I understand it's a holiday- but it's not my job to rectify online order times, much less have to follow up continually about my order. I liked their food, but now I will give my business to more attentive restaurants- this is completely ridiculous.

I ate take out from here twice and both times I got horribly ill. I would not recommend this place. After the second time I got sick I checked their score on the county's restaurant inspection site and saw they got many citations and failing scores. Just never enough to be shut down unfortunately. Eat here at your own risk.

This is predominately based upon delivery and help. Food is decent. however, when I order from them online or if I call in an order, I give them detailed directions on how to get to my place. I live in a gated building, so I go over how to get in, turns to take and elevators to take. However, they never want to take down the directions. so when the driver gets here they yell at you because they can't find the place and then demand you come down to get your food. ummm..that's not delivery. THEN when you call to speak to a manager at the restaurant, they ALL claim to be the manager. when you ask to speak to the owners, they ALL claim to be an owner. something is NOT right with this place. I won't order from them again, and quite honestly wonder what they are hiding. BADDDD!!!! SERVICE

I went here yesterday for a late lunch with my coworker. When we pulled up to the parking lot there were no cars around which kinda made us wonder why. The time was about 1230. When we walked in we were the only people in the place. Really? At lunch time? That made us question the place a bit more but decided to try it out anyway. The waiter seated us and took our order and the food took about 10 min or so to come to our table. The soup was served right away. I had the hot and sour soup which was decent. Nothing that was " aww man this is sooo good" but it was good. I ordered the Mongolian Beef with fried rice and my coworker ordered the General Taos Chicken and we shared an order of fried ice cream rolls. I thought mine was good. Not the best I have ever had but I would come back here if I was in the area. My coworker didnt like his because he said " it has too much fried stuff on it". He isn't a big fan of Chinese food that has fried stuff on it so that is most likely a bias opinion of the food. The fried ice cream roll thing we got was REALLY REALLY GOOD. REALLY GOOD. It came with wall-nuts that I think were lightly fried. I will order that again. Give it a shot. See what you think.

I'm telling you, whether you have a problem with how the restaurant presents itself or not, nobody, and I mean nobody, makes as good a Hot and Sour soup as Stir Restaurant! I also love their BBQ Pork Fried Rice and I just had their Crispy Fried Beef which is somehow still crispy in all the awesome sauce with Green Beans, Onions and Carrots! Come one people at least try them to-go!!!!!!!! They really are tasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I believe you get better service from Stir if you order for delivery rather than dine in, I do like this place. For Chinese food in Renton, it is one of three places to go (Hong's Garden and Chiang's Gourmet being the other two). For a while, I believe they offered sushi, but their sushi was forgettable. Tiny rolls with tiny slivers of fish...appealing to neither the eye nor the stomach. Glad they deep-sixed the sushi idea. When you're in the mood for traditional Cantonese staples, however, Stir does very well. Their broccoli beef is fresh and gingery, the meat lean and plentiful, and accented with red bell peppers. Their almond fried chicken is generous, always perfectly light and golden, never dessicated or leathery like some places, and made only with chicken breast. Their egg rolls are light, crispy, and fresh-tasting. Their fried rices (I've had several kinds) are tender, tasty, and generously studded with meats and vegetables. Typically, I'll order vegetable fried rice, which always includes plenty of crisp pea pods and broccoli, not just the obligatory scoop of frozen cubed carrots and peas that are tossed in by many Chinese joints. I've also ordered the vegetable chow fun, with wide Thai-style rice noodles, which I've enjoyed. Less traditional dishes that I've enjoyed included the curried extra-thin Singapore street noodles, mango chicken, and green onion pancakes. I don't know if they do the pancakes anymore; and they were not as good as those found at Black Pearl in Seattle, but it's hard to pass them up anyway. Their wonton soup is actually a full meal in itself; it's a huge bowl of wontons, greens, broccoli, prawns, and BBQ pork. Fantastic on a cold winter night. The interior does look a bit like the Godfather's Pizza it probably once was. But the owners have tried hard to scrub off the stain of fast food, with nice lighting, decor, a fish tank, and tablecloths.

The food is pretty good. The problem is the service. We have tried this restaurant several times. One reason I go here is because it's one of the few Chinese places that have egg foo young, my favorite dish. Tonight we spent 50 bucks on dinner for take out and they gave us the WRONG soup, no gravy for my egg foo young and they gave us egg rolls that we did not order. Plus for three or four entres that we had, we got 2 pouches of soy sauce!!!! Really??? I think this is the last straw, three strikes you are out STIR.

We live nearby but hadn't tried Stir in many years. I remembered it being pretty good but this recent visit was our last. Service was fine - as it should have been since we were the only customers eating inside. It was a Tuesday night and we saw several people come in and order food to go. We started with the BBQ pork appetizer and a few bites were enough. The pork wasn't lean and wasn't the color of any bbq pork that we've had before - kind of grayish. Yuck. Entrees were the General Tso's chicken - too much breading and not the leanest chicken and we also had the beef with broccoli. The later was just ok - both were ordered 3 and 5 stars and neither were spicy. Very disappointing!

The atmosphere was nice so I expected higher prices for chinese food, which was actually not high at all and was very affordable. The chinese food deffinetly had an American spin on it, as the only sauce they offered with the KFC-like wings was sweet/sour. We had apps, soup which was great, and phad thai - very hot (spicy) btw, and were full and satisfied. Server was nice, and the food came out quickly. A few mishaps but noone is perfect (we had to get up to ask her where the rice was). A fun atmosphere with good prices and nice, not too much high expecations for chinese food, food, this is a place my hubby and I plan on coming back to next time we're in the Renton Area.

The food was warm, not even hot when it arrived. Placed the order at 9:40, was supposed to arrive at 10:20 and didn't show up until 10:50. When I called to ask whether my order was on its way or not I was told "yep it's coming" and was rushed off the phone. There was no apology for it taking so long. I definitely wouldn't recommend ordering from here based on my single experience. I wish I had read everyone else's reviews prior to ordering.

I noticed Stir was closed this Thursday afternoon. I looked at the KC Public Health page and found they were closed because: "Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures Potentially hazardous foods not adequately cooked Improper cooling of potentially hazardous food Foods not protected from cross contamination Poor personal hygiene practices - handling ready-to-eat foods with bare hands Handwashing facilities unavailable Toxic items not properly stored; i.e. rice stored next to detergents, bleach and other chemicals" ...at least the employees' poop and snot that might get on the rice is probably taken care of by the adjacent bleach.

This place is awful. We ordered food for delivery and they forgot the sauce for the almond chicken. We called and they said they'd call us back. We waited 15 mins and didn't hear back. So we called again. They said they'd send the driver with the sauce. More than an hour later, no sauce. So we called for a refund for the almond chicken. They said they couldn't find the house and too bad about the sauce. I pointed out that they've already made a delivery to our house with the first batch of food an hour ago. They basically said 'too bad' and that was it. Read the other reviews, especially about health code violations. I wish I had read them before wasting our money.

This place sucks. Food was not good. Got the broccoli beef and an order of chicken fried rice. Wow the "fried rice" was clearly plain white rice with soy sauce, still with white clumps still in, it was the poorest excuse for fried rice ive ever had. The beef tasted so funny that I didnt even finish it, and I dont ever do that. Every single piece of meat was really really chewy and just tasted weird I was wondering if it was even beef, thats honestly when I put the fork down. also, im still kind of upset that I paid like $9 for white rice Only good thing was food was hot and got here pretty quick, about 20 mins, I am just 2 miles up the hill though.

I ordered this the other day when I got home from work, because I honestly didn't feel like cooking anything. I ordered online from their website. I was quoted at an hour for delivery and it got here in about 35-40 minutes. Really quick. I ordered a Family meal, which consists of two entrees, two soups, two sides of either steamed rice or bbq pork fried rice, or chicken chow mein for 1.50 extra for each. Also, two egg rolls. Entree 1: Kung Pao Chicken. Large quantity. Food was fresh and hot, and tasted delicious! Great job. Entree 2: Sweet and Sour Chicken. Okay amount, but could have been more for the price. Chicken and other stuff came in a box separate from the Sweet and Sour Sauce. I kind of like it more when it's already mixed together. But oh well, I can do that. Sauce was good flavor, and got enough of it for the whole entree. Food was delicious. Soups: Fried Wonton soup, and Egg Noodle. Both were hot and delicious. I kind of wish they came in bigger containers though. They went fast. Egg rolls: Great flavor and just the right amount of crispiness. Came with sufficient amount of sweet and sour to dip them in. Sides: Chicken Chow Mein. Two sides came together in one container. Great for me, because I was ordering for myself, but if you are ordering for two people, you will have to separate them yourself. This dish was really good too. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and the fast delivery service. All this food, combined with a $2.25 delivery fee, a $3.50 tip, and tax, came to a total of $48.05. Great price for what I got. I will definitely order from here again. I gave them 4 stars because it is too early to give them 5. I'll have to see how they do on the next couple orders, but I have a good feeling future orders will be just as good.

The food is decent but you should order for pickup. Takes an average of at least 60-90 minutes to be delivered, and this is based on 3 delivery orders we've placed. Not very professional considering their website tells you your specific delivery time. We ordered tonight at 6:15 with a delivery time of 7:20, it's now 7:50 and food still is not here...

The decline of the customer service, deliver and of the food quality over the past year has been obvious. I've had orders delivered over an hour late - food cooled so much that i had to reheat it. Orders have been incorrect, and while they recently offered a comp meal for forgetting to add the meat combo in my noodles to my original order...today I called to get the comp meal delivered. The delivery came with little to no chicken or steak (literally small shavings), along with mini shrimp that smelled fishy/bad and 30+% of the meal was chopped onions as a filler. To make matters worse - I was asked to order something $10 or more so that they would deliver, after their error. I got the green beans. So I still had to pay for a comp'd mediocre meal. And the delivery driver, didn't have change for a $20, so he didn't get a tip. Sadly with the errors, the food quality declining, and with the long deliver wait times, I will no longer be a customer. It's a shame. They were great a year ago.

My wife and I usually order from other places, but figured it'd be time to try something new. I placed an order here online, which was very easy, and the food came within a quickly manner. The food was very hot and fresh tasting. For $25, you get a lot of food. Awesome!

I was there with friends on a Sunday afternoon and it was fabulous! The food was fresh and the service was awesome! Even after we paid our check and were still talking our friendly waiter stopped by to refill drinks and provide friendly banter. I recommend the honey chicken, but everything I have had there has been super delicious!

I ordered online from GrubHub, and was given an estimate of one hour for delivery. OK, no problem. Well, my order arrived in 30 minutes, hot and absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I've never eaten at Stir before, and have to say I'm extremely pleased with the food and the service. I will definitely be using GrubHub again, too!

We recently moved to the east side of Renton and have been wanting to try this place. I've seen the reviews but wanted to give it a chance since it's close and I must say I loved my chicken chow mein...better than chopsticks in kent but my hubby prefers the chicken cashew nut at chopsticks and they included rice plus soup and this place only includes the main dish. I do wish they'd include at least soup and/or rice with the price you are paying. But for anyone looking for a good meal (it is filling) to be delivered i would recommend this place!

Ordered delivery for me and my girlfriend one night. Our favorite Thai place no longer delivered to our home in Renton, so we decided to try Stir since it boasted a wide array of Thai options. We were excited, since they delivered and the food was relatively inexpensive. The delivery took nearly 2 hours. Man, we were disgusted. I ordered Yellow Coconut Chicken Curry w/ rice and she ordered the Pad Thai. These imitation dishes were nowhere close to what they should've been. The Pad Thai was 30% chopped onions mixed in with the noodles, which was an unexpected disappointment. The flavor was very off, since they didn't use peanut sauce. It ended up being very bland. The Curry was horrible. It wasn't even curry, and there was no coconut base. It was a very thin soup with flavors nowhere close to Panang Curry. Avoid this place if you're thinking of a Thai alternative. A huge disappointment.

Extremely poor customer service! Ordered here several times for delivery. Every single time the food took an hour and a half, or longer, to be delivered. No phone call or any type of customer service to notify me of the delay. When I called to inquire about the delivery time, I was treated with utter disrespect. The girl answering the phone didn't even care to look up my specific order, she just stated "it's on the way", when I finally got her to look up the order, it changed to "another 30 minutes". When I mentioned that it is outrageous to have such long waiting times and to not notify the customer, and when I told her that it is rather presumptuous of her to simply say "it's on the way" the phone was handed over to another lady. She simply went off on me. Did not let me get a word in edgewise. When I stated that I would like the food to arrive within the next 15 mins or I would decline the credit charge, she became extremely rude. The excuse "I'm sorry, we are very busy" Ok, well, hire more drivers? Get extra cooks? Run your business like a proper business owner? Don't bark at customers who are dissatisfied by how you handle your business, we ARE the people that pay you for your service. If your customers aren't happy or treated with respect, you're going to run out of people to make money off. Just sayin....

Finally found a place in Renton that serves food late, so I figured it's worth a try. Long story short, my delivery showed up 1 hour and 25 minutes after I placed a phone order. I ordered two appetizers and one entrée, and live approximately 7-10 minutes away. I ended up calling the restaurant back after an hour, trying to track down the delivery. By the time the food got here, it was barely warm. The so-called "Crispy Chicken with Garlic Sauce" was infact soft, soggy breading drenched in thick General Tso's like sauce. The phad thai was dry and had hardly any chicken. The BBQ Spare Ribs tasted like stale fat. Let's just say Chinese Food from the local grocery store would have been way better, and half the price. Won't be ordering from there again.

We ordered 90.00 worth of food. Over 2 hours later I was on the phone for the 3rd time trying to just cancel the order and receive a refund. Since the manager said it would take a week to receive a refund...we ate the cold food. My grandkids were so hungry they were crying as I made sandwiches instead. The staff was rude and the food was not worth the 2 hour wait. Horrible Terrible No Good Dinner

I use to love this place always ask for delivery always fast and good food but since sometime from now the quality is so bad I just didn't eat the order I just have. Good was cold, food was disgusting and the take 2hrs and 30min to get here seriously... I manage a place that we do delivery and something we 45min a people want to kill us... Anyways I'm always pacient but this is horrible no more from this place so sad it was my favorite place

By far, no exaggeration, the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten... I tried to give them a second chance and had them deliver to me when I lived in the highlands and it was even worse and over priced. The restaurant is dirty and the food is flavorless and low quality. I could rant for hours about how bad this place is but I'll just say that I have never heard anyone of my friends that have even tried that place say one good thing about it. Also the way the restaurant is set up the sun is in your eyes while your trying to eat it's just uncomfortable. Service was slow and messed up my order. I mean he was nice but that doesn't forgive the a fore mentioned issues.

Wow. I was surprised to read such negative feedback about this restaurant. My husband and I have only been twice but each time we were so pleased with the experience, we can't wait to return again! The service has been fantastic, the staff is always so nice and attentive. The food is amazing... from appetizer to entree to sushi - we haven't had a bad dish yet! And we both like the atmosphere, simple yet romantic. You can bring your kids - but we prefer not to! :) Mmmm... my mouth is watering just thinking about our next visit! I would definitely go for yourself and check this place out. It would be really unfortunate to deny yourself a visit based on the negative reviews left here. But to each their own! We will definitely be returning customers for a long time to come!!!

Review based only on delivery experience! The food was delivered promptly after the order was made, hot and tasty! I would certainly recommend for ordering when you are just too lazy to get out of those sweat pants and pick up/dine out for Chinese.

The food was good but the service speed was abysmal. We were a party of 8 at 8 pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not super-busy. Tea was brought to the table immediately and other drinks were brought in a matter of minutes. Tea refills were kept flowing throughout our visit, though you have to know the trick -- open the teapot lid to let them know you want more. Appetizers hit the table in about twenty-five minutes. The homemade BBQ Pork was pretty good, the hot and sour soup was not complained about, the fried potstickers were tasty if not what I'm used to, and the BBQ Pork Spareribs were tasty but too dry and chewy. Half of us ordered sushi and the other half of us ordered "regular" food. The sushi group was served about 25 minutes after the appetizer plates were cleared and they seemed happy with what they got. However, those of us who ordered other dishes (sweet and sour chicken, orange beef, chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, and some curry noodle thing) waited over an hour.. we were not served our entrees until we'd been in the restaurant over an hour and a half and the starving 7 year old got her food LAST. It was good when we got it, but anything hot covered in teriyaki sauce would have been eaten because we were STARVING by then!! The total bill was $160 which considered the piles of food we ate was not unreasonable. But the wait was insane. Seriously. An hour and a half for teriyaki???

Looking to get sushi on Saturday afternoon is like finding a needle in a haystack it's nearly impossible or else my Google-fu is broken. Anyways, before seeing a movie Saturday I was tasked with finding sushi for lunch I found this place. I read the two reviews and though OK let's check it out. Basically it's a Chinese restaurant that serves sushi. Once we walked in and sat down my desire for sushi vanished. Actually my desire to eat there vanished but I stuck it out because I was starving. We started with the crab wontons, bad, very bad, too cream cheesy for my liking and the wrapper they were fried in was too heavy and thick to be called a wonton. We decided on two entrees a spicy basil dish with prawns and chicken and their lemon scallops. The spicy basil dish did not mention bell peppers being in it, it did mention sweet peppers so I didn't ask for them to be held. It arrived cooked with red and green bell peppers, I hate when restaurants do that. The scallops were horrible it was like they were cooked in a lemon donut filling. The service was almost as bad as the food. We sat ready to order but no one was around to take our order. Finally a man appeared, he took our order and left. Someone brought our crab wontons but not our drinks. Our food soon arrived and still no drinks I had to ask for it again and finally they arrive in a glass with no ice. It was just all so odd if you ask me. Needless to say it was a bad experience and I don't think I'll ever be going back here again.

Do not order: the chow fun with beef. It is a sad imitation of the real dish (a childhood favorite of mine, usually done at any relatively okay Chinese restaurant), and I only ate it because it reminded me of the real thing. Also do not order: chicken with orange peel. This is not orange chicken..well..ok, there are oranges and chicken and typical breading involved, but the chicken comes in huge chunks, and it's just not that crunchy typically American-Chinese corn starchy dish most people seem to like. Do order: the sichuan green beans. I suspect it may be difficult to mess this dish up, or perhaps my love of green beans blinds me, but these were delicious. The cream cheese wontons are all right too. They were, however, very generous with the rice, punctual with the delivery, and the ma po tofu was so hot I couldn't really taste it. I guess that last one is not such a positive thing. If I'd ordered this meal for a sizable family, it would have fed them to fullness if they were very hungry. If you have the typically insensitive taste for "Chinese" food that many people in America have, or have the munchies at 2 AM, go ahead and shell out a tiny chunk of your paycheck for this.

I haven't tried the Chinese here - so it might be good. I CAN comment on the sushi. The parking lot is difficult to get to - so be careful! I've had better sushi at the grocery store. This place has offered Chinese food for quite a while and recently expanded to sushi. I suspect that the Chinese food might be okay - but I haven't tried it. Prices were reasonable - but the fish was not fresh. I had a spicy tuna roll that was neither spicy nor tuna-ie. I also had salmon and yellowtail nigiri - neither were good. Total for the bill was $15.00. Decor is dated but fun in a retro way. Service was great.

I really liked their General Tao's Chicken - very flavorful and nice and hot. Their "Hot and sour soup is just what the doctor ordered if you are feeling under the weather or are actually ill and need something better than hot chicken noodle soup. Their bathrooms were a Little less than desirable - a can of peas in the sink. Stir's has a great location and does do good in delivery and to-go Chinese food.

Bad experience!! We got a flyer in the mail and thought we would try their delivery service. Placed the order at 7:30pm on a Friday night, seeing a posted delivery time of 8:15. When I got the confirmation email, I saw that our dessert order was wrong. When I tried to call, the main line either gave a fax tone, was busy, or rang unanswered. At 8:30 our order still hadn't arrived, so I tried calling again. This time they answered and said the driver was on his way. When I asked about the dessert order, the woman said she would call me back. At 9:00 I called to cancel the order. I got a bunch of apologies for how busy they were (then don't tell me 45 minutes for delivery!) and to tell the driver we don't want the food when he arrives (apparently the driver doesn't have a phone?). Five minutes later, I get a call from the restaurant - same woman I've talked to twice before - asking if I have received my order? I said no. She says "You still want the food?" I said no, I just spoke to you and cancelled! "Oh, so sorry!" Five minutes later she calls again and says she needs my credit card number so she can process the refund tomorrow. I give it to her, more apologies. At noon on Saturday, she calls again, and wants my credit card number again, because she gave it to her boss for the refund, but he won't have time to do it ??? I gave it to her again, and now I'm waiting for my refund. If any funny business happens with my card, all h*** is breaking loose!! Wish I could post no stars for this review.

This place deserves negative stars. My friend and I went there Saturday night for dinner. We have never been there but were craving chinese and thought we would give it a try. There were no cars or people in this place which seems kind of strange given it was a Saturday night now that I think about it. As we were seated we kept hearing a strange noise, as we looked over across the room there was a cardboard box under a booth that kept making noises and would move every so often. We asked a waitress what it was and she had said a customer had left their bird there.... We should of left but we were stupid and hungry and stayed. So we order- the waiter then asks, "What kind of rice would you like with that?" I didn't ask for rice, but assumed it came with it since HE ASKED and EVERY OTHER CHINESE PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN AT COMES WITH RICE (or at least adds it on for a couple $). When the rice came out it came on its own plate and I said, "Thats the side of rice? That's huge." He smiled. But alas we get our bill and are charged $9.00 each for the rice! I took the bill to the waitress up front and explaned the situnation and how we were asked what kind we wanted rather than if we wanted it added on or whatever, she then proceeded by saying. "Let me show you how to read a menu since you don't seem to know how to, the menu doesn't say it comes with rice." Then why ask people what kind they want? I've never wanted to knock someone out so bad in my life. We then kind of got into a loud arguing match. The food was so-so until a few hours later when both my friend and I got really ill. I spent all day in bed yesterday feelng like a horse kicked me in my stomach. :(

There is nothing about this restaurant that distinguishes it from any other run of the mill Chinese restaurant. They do serve sushi, but it is far from being tasty. There is really nothing much to say about this place, it is exactly what you would expect from a meh Chinese restaurant.

My fiancee and I have been to Stir Restaurant many times, as we live only 5 miles away. We are struck by how friendly and conscientious the owner and the staff have been whenever we are there. They have made special preparations when we need to avoid certain foods and have never shown any kind of stuffiness or ego, always an air of service and sweetness. The food is always hot and precisely prepared. Also, we can tell that they have taken time to decorate the large dining room to suit both Asian and American tastes, so that everyone feels welcome. We have had their delivery service, and loved having the food show up here on a movie night. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
