Izakaya? Really? Slow service, How about a Smile when you serve me. The waitress looks like she was not happy to be there... Well its okay cause I wasnt happy to see you serving us either. So we're even. *****ATTENTION**** My date bit into a PIECE OF GLASS IN HIS RICE! Seriously, in his rice. told the waitress and manager and not even a comp! still paid for the side of rice! WTF! C'mon, Customer Service classes. Train them employees! Never again... Food is okay... Calamari and karrage are pretty bad. both taste the same, Calamari was super chewy (WAY OVER COOKED) Two Thumbs Down. Like way down. If i Want to chip my tooth on anything I'll go to a better restaurant and get drunk and fall on the sidewalk face first. Better then chipping it on A PIECE OF GLASS IN THE RICE!!!! ****GLASS IN RICE!!!!!********* ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Udon, Sushi, and heavy handed on pouring the wine? Yes please and thank you!! I also have to say that it's hard to find a place that also plays great music - the best 90's R&B/Hip-Hop blend I've found in a long time! Really adds to the enjoyment when catching up with good friends over some good food. No complaints here, the only issue was when waitresses were changing shifts but that is completely understandable - their job can be hard and they were very nice about it. :)

Met with a couple of old friends at The Landing. We were originally going to hit up WoB for beer, but it was too crowded and we thought we'd give this place a try, 'bout 8:50 pm. Since we didn't feel like kaiten, we opted to sit in the bar. A young, cheerful looking waitress took our drink orders first and she brought them right way (yay for Mac'N'Jack on tap). We then gave her our food orders and that's the last we ever saw of her... Food orders: ikura sushi, rainbow roll, katsu donburi, and nabeyaki udon. The restaurant was NOT busy and the food took quite a long time to come - it was delivered by someone from the kitchen. We thought maybe the issue was that they were going to bring it all out at once, but everything trickled in. The ikura sushi was barely OK (rice not packed well), and the rainbow roll was extremely anemic - basically a california roll with poor, thin slices of sashimi on top. Nabeyaki udon was small and the noodles and the slices of chicken in it were overcooked. The katsu donburi was the only decent dish (at least according to my friend who ordered it). Nobody came to refill our water or ask if we wanted more drinks. We saw that it was happy hour, and we probably would have ordered some half-price small plates or beer to fight our disappointment, but again... our waitress had disappeared. I suspect that she got off her shift and forgot to make sure a new server was instructed to take care of us. After waiting / talking for over 20 minutes for someone to bring us our check, we just stood up and walked up to the cashier to pay ourselves... all while watching other tables get served and have their checks brought to them. Now, I feel I'm an expert at poor service - I grew up eating at hole-in-the-wall Chinese joints with my family where service can be inconsistent. However, the food at those places is always what makes the bad service tolerable. Unfortunately for Izakaya, the food wasn't worth the terrible service. Even with the knowledge that they run a 9pm-1am happy hour, I'd hesitate to go back. Sorry, it's the truth. I refuse to let my happy memories of eating at neighborhood izakaya joints in Japan be ruined by this place. Next time I get an izakaya craving... I'm hitting up Wann in downtown Seattle or Maekawa in Chinatown.

I really liked their sushi line, it wasn't outstanding and it wasn't horrible or bad, only thing I would complain about is their pricing, but I had great service and enjoyed the sushi there. The kids meal comes with a little tiki umbrella thing and my son was in awe when he saw it! So cute! But cute atmosphere and a nice place to grab a quick lunch. Will return again if I am in the area! =)

Service was slow, food on the conveyor belt was probably left on there too long, my friend said it was warm, I tried one piece of salmon sushi and later I had the runs. Will never go back! Way too pricey for lackluster service and less than mediocre food.

Worst food ever. Ever. My God. Just horrifically and epically bad. If I could do zero stars, I would.

This place has actually gotten worse. As much as the wife and I like to frequent the conviently located Landing, we couldn't resist giving them a second try for some post World of beer sushi and night cap. This place just reeks of a dying business. If you ever want to experience a food establishment without management, come here! The service is painfully slow. We were continually neglected and waited 10-15 minutes between placing AND receiving our drink orders. And... I can't make this up. After ordering a vodka tonic, the waitress delivered it saying here's your "well vodka." SMH.... is that what it rang up as? I'm not sure. It did, however, make my stomach and self esteem sick. Next time I guess I'll have to ensure that I wear something nicer, I guess and maybe rate some Grey Goose. The sushi makers look like robots or zombies and it is clear that the owner of this place is interested in throwing their money away. Complete fail.

This place used to actually be good. You'd go and be seated promptly, get your drink order in quickly, and the conveyor would be well stocked with sushi. The 2nd to last time I went, it took 20 minutes to pay when we were finished eating. This last time, we arrived and one conveyor was running, so it was somewhat full. After a few minutes of standing up front, the hostess let us know that it would be 5-10 minutes for a seat. That didn't seem like a big deal, so we waited. A few minutes later, two people left the conveyor belt and opened up a space for us. Unfortunately, we spent the better part of 20 minutes watching the 3 employees (2 servers and a hostess) enter tips into their POS system for the night. Nobody was served in that time. Nobody was seated, nobody got drinks, nobody got their check taken care of. I've never seen such incompetence at a restaurant. I wasn't surprised to see that a patron had to walk his credit card up to the front because he had wanted to leave for the better part of 20 minutes, but the staff wouldn't take care of him. After the majority of the tips were entered, the two servers then ran around like idiots basically doing nothing. They would pick menus up, walk to the bar with them, talk to the bartender, then walk back to the front and put the menus back. It was actually a little bit of a game to try and figure out what they were actually doing, as they weren't busing tables, weren't serving food, and weren't taking orders. To the owners: this terrible employee performance basically broke down the functionality of your restaurant. Not having the conveyor seats turned regularly meant people sat at the bar or the empty conveyor, then ordered off the menu. Consequently, the kitchen was incredibly busy pumping out one roll at a time to all of these tables, which meant that when we finally were seated (by the way, we were seated across from those 2 spaces that opened up immediately, they were still vacant), there was nearly nothing on the conveyor. We ended up leaving without eating or ordering anything. On another note, it has been very normal here for quite a while to sit at the conveyor and find that something is missing. For instance, there's no soy sauce, or no soy sauce dishes, or no wasabi, or some other issue. Since the service is so bad, I've basically resorted to reaching over the conveyor and taking these supplies from other areas. In short, hire a manager that is there, and isn't a 23-year-old girl. Spend some time in your own restaurant before you have to close it!

Im just gonna confirm everything that every other person said about this place. It would be ONE STAR but the servers here are great. I feel bad for them working in that place. The prices are expensive too. Save your money and eat at sushi land or SAFEWAY SUSHI, at least its fresh there

I've always known that the service here is horrible but never really realized how bad it is until we sat at a table instead of the conveyor belt. Sitting at the conveyor belt didn't really require much customer service, which should already say a lot about the lack of knowledge these "servers" have. We come here because it's close and the food is ok. After tonight we will never be coming back. We had asked for soy sauce because the server failed to notice that there were no condiments at our table. She came back and brought us plates for the soy sauce but brought no sauce. After watching her pass by multiple times I finally got up and grabbed my own condiments. Yup I just served myself. When the rest of our order arrived, the calamari was warm and the baked muscles were cold. I didn't bother returning the order because I just didnt want to deal with it. I'm over it! I'm never coming back here anyway. I'm in the service industry myself. I recognize when it's busy and mistakes happen. The shit that goes on here are basic customer service 101. Get your shit together!

My husband & I had lunch here today & WE Will NEVER be back!!! We decided to select sushi from the belt, we even asked our server for a couple fresh rolls. When they brought them, they were wonderful! We were enjoying our time together. When a different server comes to our table & says..."Umm we're closing, ready for your check?" I was very upset that we even went there...we left hungry. I told our server that they need to explain their closing policy before you seat someone, better yet, call a "last call for sushi"! They will NEVER receive our business again!!

hmm..was kind of hesitant to try this place because of all the bad reviews...but was pleasantly surprised! Came here for HH tonight with some friends and sat in the outside area of the bar. Our waitress was very nice and helpful but she was by herself that night so we felt bad and a little annoyed since she was the only worker(she said there's usually another person working with her), she seemed to have everything under control though :) Off the HH menu we ate- //spicy pork, baked mackeral?, calamari, agedashi tofu, albacore tataki. Truthfully, all the food was salty ....for me. My friends thought it was fine. I still enjoyed every dish as it was very flavorful and nice portions. WILL COME AGAIN. L-O-V-E the hours, atmosphere, and HH prices :)

Worste service ever! Here from Chicago and raised has been the worse customer service I've ever seen! We had different waiters at all times, food took for ever then they decide to have a employees meeting while we still were here that's not professional at all coming from a business owner. The food was okay.

I had lunch here Sunday for mothers day May 10th. The service was great. A pretty girl greeted us immediately, she was very welcoming, warm and friendly. We sat in the bar. We had waters before we even had a chance to pick up the menu. She was very pretty, had bright lipstick on, long hair, petite.. Servers should be attractive and friendly, that she was. She got our drink order and food order about 4 mins after we sat down. Very good service. Our food was out fast. She was running all over the place and still made sure we were ok with everything. She kept coming and checking on us. We hung out and enjoyed our drinks after are meal . Even after I paid my bill my waitress kept filling up our water. We ordered the chicken Bento dinners and they were amazing. My son got a few rolls off the belt and they were really fresh. Miso soup was so yummy! I saw the reviews and they didn't look too promising, but we thought what the hell, we are right here, we're hungry and I'm really glad we did. Next time I'm in, I want to let a manager know about our experience. Our service was spectacular and the food was amazing. The place was clean and atmosphere was nice. The sake was delish too!

Let me start by saying - actual sushi offered by this place are good. Fish is fresh and there's enough variety when you have a craving. __ BUT___ Price: This conveyer-style sushi bar is significantly more expensive than other similar places (which would have been fine) - start at $2.50 per plate, but most good rolls are $4.50 and more. Service At The Door: You'd think the service would match the price - but not even close. There are usually two or three girls circulating around, in no particular hurry (they may have confused their job with modeling?). Lots of dirty tables with few customers actually still there. It took awhile for the hostess to understand that there are just the two of us and YES - we want to be seated (Is langauge a problem? Or did we look like we were going to ask for directions instead?) Why was she so confused by people entering the establishment? (I kid you not - happened all 3 times we were there). Service At The Table & The Bar: After that - it takes a waitress forever to approach you. They have no idea what drinks their bar serves. She did nod to the request to please bring napkings, chopsticks and sauces (because each time we were seated at a spot without those (??) - and never came back. Last time there, I lost patience after 10 minutes and went to the station myself to get tools and supplies, so we could eat. (Provoked no reaction from the waitress who kept watching me with cow eyes whatsoever - not even an "whoops, sorry") Any request (when you do manage to get attention) is implemented via sloooow defilee walk along the isle and takes 15-20 minutes for no particular reason (again - not that many customers, I wonder why). And then - then you get stuck waiting for your bill for another 20 minutes. We thought our first experience was a fluke. But two more attempts provided same results. Perhaps, the place should start hiring help that is not there for interior decoration purposes. P.S. I'm serious. Two or three lazy girls, sitting down or sloowly moving in high heels, minis and heavy make-up do not strike me as professional waitresses. My friends in college moonlighted in restaurants, and wore low-heel comfortable shoes to move quickly and remain pain-free after a day on their feet. P.P.S. May I inquire whether this place is really a disquised Asian massage parlor, LOL. Cause they sure don't give a hoot about their eating customers. :)

4 stars because this is one of my FAVORITE sushi spots. I'm in love with the Lion King roll - I need that everytime I come in. Sometimes when I'm feeling soup I get the Nabeyaki Udon which is bomb. Its a good serving too, it'll get you pretty full and I always order the strawberry lemonade which I recommend to anyone!! They crush up strawberrys and throw it in there and its just super fresh. I eat at a lot of different sushi spots and their fish is FRESH. Everythings good and its definitely worth the price. The service is good too. I come in a lot and I have different servers all the time but it is ALWAYS good when Savoeun is serving. She is always checks up on us, very knowledgable about all the stuff on the menu, and she always has a good attitude. Definitely would recommend anyone to eat here!

I don't even know where to start. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday night and we asked to sit in a booth. It hadn't been cleaned, so the waitress cleaned it by flinging the leftover food onto the seat and floor. We should have left then. There was some dried over wasabi in the container, no ginger. We asked the waitress for more and she said "oh is there none in there?" We each drank our waters, waited 15 minutes, finally my husband got up and went to the bar to get me a drink. When the waitress came back 20 min later, she asked us if we wanted more water (glasses were empty). The water we received had floating particles in it. Gross. I have been to many different conveyor belt sushi places, and have never had a problem because they usually remove any food that has been out for too long. Not here. The avocado was so brown and mushy that it ruined the taste of the rolls. Most rolls were falling apart. We even left some on the plate because it was so bland. Service was terrible, restaurant was dirty, food was sub par. Definitely won't be back.

It was pretty expensive and we only ended up here because Papaya and Thai65 were packed. Service was great. Probably won't be back, too spendy. Maybe for a date night? My pal ended up spending $20 on lunch, pretty spendy for us working gals. I spent $15. They don't have plate prices openly displayed- because they are spendy. Good spendy selection of lunch options on the belt. My other pal who ordered teriyaki had to wait about 10 min but it was priced well and tasty.

Sushi restaurant, but don't go for the sushi. * Setting = modern + conveyor belt sushi Decently clean and big screen TVs near the bar * Food = :( Usually conveyor belt sushi = sloppily prepared low quality foods. The conveyor belt side looked typical. I checked out the happy hour. Izakaya plates had a bar food style, but there was no quality. A sign of "Izakaya Bar" would more accurately meet expectations than "Izakaya Sushi" because the sushi (I tried rolls and sashimi) were very boring. The Spider Rolls were a joke, grocery store quality with restaurant price. Some Chinese foods were on the menu also. * Happy Hour? Not really happy Prices were very typical for normal bar style food. If you happen to be hanging around this area late night, and happen to want Asian style food and alcohol, then maybe Izakaya is recommended to check out. If you don't want conveyor belt sushi, there are other nearby joints: Depending on your appetite, you might get more of your money's worth at Mizuki Buffet near South Center. There's also "New Zen" in Renton, or "Mizu Steak House" and "Miyabi" in South Center. Not recommended.

Worst possible service and the girl was half naked.... wasn't greeted or seated so we just made our way to the bar... we had to ask for menus and they really looked at us like we were crazy. One girl looked like she was on a personal call. Fortunately for them I love the fusion roll. Staff definitely needs to be trained. F's for everyone.

This place is *horrible*... the food isn't anything special and the service is by far the worst I have ever seen; on top of that they *STOLE* money from me by charging my card more than my bill! We came in at 9 and their sign said it closed at 10 but at 915 they said it was last call so we had to rush all our food and drink orders and by 930 they had given us our bill and asked us to sign it then! I was peeved and gave them a 10% tip but when I looked at my credit card later they had charged over the actual bill+tip to give themselves a 25% tip! I have filed a complaint with my credit card company who has refunded and is investigating them. Never. go. here.

I came here for happy hour and had their Sashimi Combo, and it was perfect! It was really fresh because their fish is delivered every Thursday. The Sashimi Combo comes with salmon, yellow tail, and tuna; two pieces each. The salmon and yellow tail were cut in a thicker slice than the tuna, but I didn't mind since I don't care for tuna anyways. The service was good, although they were low on servers on a Friday night. However, they do try their best to give attentive service. This place is a good alternative to Japanese food since they have a bar and sitting area with sushi on a rotational belt, but I would only come back here if I'm in the area. Otherwise, there are much better places for sushi.

I'm writing this before I even leave the restaurant. Poor and frenetic service...we could see hostess and servers stepping all over each other while we've been here. Disjointed at best. Had to ask twice for utensils, sushi bowls and never got water. Sushi was fair but just overall not a great experience. I will not return.

Good for a quick sushi fix, but nothing spectacular. The happy hour specials aren't very special, and the menu is pretty broad, but we generally only do the conveyor sushi. No idea how long it actually rides along on the conveyor belt... we've had pretty lousy service here in the past but the last time we went was ok service. I'd consider coming back for drinks and ordering off the menu away from the conveyor belt, but after reading enough reviews it looks like that isn't the best choice.

Bad customer service .. One staff person was reprimanding another employee in front of all the patrons. The person across from us found a hair in their sushi ... My rating is based on my observation of their bad customer service, to all the patrons around me including us .

I called today to place an order for my wife to pick up. Rathany answered. My order was small and simple, but I had to repeat two items twice. After placing the order of FOUR (4) menu items, I asked Rathany to repeat it. She did. My wife picked it up and brought it home. Instead of 3 orders of salmon sashimi, we got one order of salmon nigiri. This place makes decent sushi but has HORRIBLE staff. Just HORRIBLE. We stopped going there due to bad service which takes forever to receive. Inattentive, slow, and not knowledge about menu. Rathany had no clue how many pieces of salmon in one order of salmon sashimi. This place is good to order from (barely) but not to go. I don't think they will last because, clearly, management does not listen.

I don't really like this place but at the same time, I don't think it deserves the hugely negative reviews that I see on here. The Landing location is convenient as it's right by the in-laws and a positive is that it's open pretty late in an area that doesn't stay open particularly late. I've never felt that the waitresses were slow or rude, but I do admit that I don't really like this type of sushi. Everything is very roll-focused and the rolls always have some sort of sweet sauce on them. I consider sweet sushi to be kind of gross, but I will say that the seared salmon ngiri is pretty damn good. If you haven't tried it, give it a try. To me, it's the thing to get if you don't want a kitchen-sink roll but yet want a little more creativity than just a slab of tuna on rice.

Disappointed is the word for this place. The bright side was the lunch staff and gal with the glasses running the lunch shift were very nice yesterday. My lunch however left a very bad impression of the chefs and resturaunt in general, I am sorry to say. I've had better prepared and better tasting sushi from 7-11, sorry but it is true. The tempurai was not very good, deep fried carrots mainly, I think I got a single shrimp. Very bland. Heads up to my fellow yelpers.

This is a strange place. We only eat here because it's within walking distance from our apartment - but I wouldn't recommend anybody go out of there way to come here. The food could be better if it were more consistent; often our meals sit in the window and come to us cold. The service is totally awful. You'll sit forever to be greeted, then when your cold food comes you dont get utensils and nobody checks to see if it's satisfactory. As I write this, I wonder why I keep coming here...don't come here.

When this place first opened the service was fantastic, the staff was very friendly and the food was really good. In recent months since then the service has gone down hill, the food his horrible. I have gotten sick twice from this place. After getting sick there, I never went back until recently. I thought I would give it at least 3 chances before provide my final verdict. I did give it 3 chances and I will NEVER go to this place again nor will I recommend it to anyone. The service still stinks, the fish is not good (for the price) and it's not a pleasant place to be. Future patrons beware.

Came here with a close friend and my daughter for dinner. The waitress was the worst and didn't know even the basics of sushi. She kept talking and playing with my 2 year old and couldn't remember what we ordered. The women workers only payed attention to the men and the back line cooks were creepers who made us feel uncomfortable. When it was time to leave, I asked for the check. The waitress gave the check to my friend when I asked for it. I paid with cash and she took it, but returned few minutes later asking if I needed change, when obviously I would. Then after a while she came back saying I needed to pay with my card because they were doing something with the registry. It was only 9pm and they close at 1am. Each time we come back it gets worst, for us ladies. But the guys I know who come here have a great time.

My husband and I have frequently ate at Izakaya and use to enjoy eating there but the food and service has down graded big time. The past few times we've been there staff has been too busy at the bar taking shots and cussing up a storm instead of cooking and attending to their guest. My husband and I are young and like to party, but seriously their is no professionalism going on anymore at Izakaya. The food has gone from a 10 to a 1. We ordered sushi that had salmon on it, the salmon was burnt and the roll fell apart. The edamame was cold, there were flies flying around the sushi bar and one particular staff member is especially rude. I hope Izakaya steps up their game once more and returns to the awesome restaurant it use to be. Until then we will be eating at Sushi Cafe on 4th St.

I had a tough time on this review, since most sushi places that I've been to in the Seattle area are far too overrated. Food: Excellent. Some of the reviews mention the tendency for the rolls to fall apart, and I can't disagree; one of them did for me as well. But for all of that, it's refreshing to see a sushi conveyor on which more than 25% of the items are actual sushi rolls. I like edamame as much as the next person, but having twice as much as anything else translates into sitting sadly at the bar, staring at the useless dishes go by and praying that the one piece of sushi that passes my seat isn't vegetarian. Incredible variety. Drink: Good. They have a pretty good selection of cocktails, and the bartender certainly doesn't skimp. She does need to learn how to make a proper absinthe without dumping the entire sugar cube in, though. Oh, did I mention they actually have absinthe? Time to put on a beret and pretend I'm Bohemian. Service: Poor. Again, most of the reviewers nailed this one. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be 'apathetic'. We went at about 5:00 on a Saturday evening, and had to wait quite awhile for drinks. We were also confused why we had to wait a few minutes for them to clean up a spot when there were about 10 customers there. Soy sauce containers look to be sized for a 5 year old, and employees never checked if they needed filling. Overall: You could do worse. It does need to improve its customer service, but at least the food isn't lacking for now.

So I've been here maybe 25-30 times since they opened. Why? its within walking distance from work and the overall restaurant selection in the Landing is only ok. I would have rated Izakaya 3 stars a couple years ago.. My biggest gripe is their service during lunch, they only have 2 waitresses plus cooks. Several times I have walked in and waited several minutes to be seated... not because there wasn't seating, but everyone is busy. Too much time between being seated, ordering, waiting for food, and then most annoying, waiting to pay. I average around an hour... and I eat fast. I've had the lunch specials, all the different bentos which I think are a good value (salmon is my fav, but if the size of the salmon has shrunk to what I had today... no bueno) , sashimi, everything off the conveyor belt. Quality is ok, not as good as it used to be, and the quantity or size of the portions have decreased. The rolls are tasty, though often a lot of sauce is added. The fruit bowl tastes like its days old. It can be pricey for an ok sushi place. Seems a quick turnover of waitresses too... not sure why

Update: Went back again for happy hour with my friend and child. If you have kids, they will not honor happy hour drinks if you're not in the bar. (ok, am I to bring the child into the bar?!?!) They are not friendly about this policy and really confounded when confronted with a conflict, like a deer in headlights. Food still was excellent.

I can't say enough horrible things about this restaurant, if you can even call it that. Being a server for years, I understand every place had their off days, but I have been here numerous times, and every time I've just been appalled by their service. Only reason I keep coming here is because the food isn't bad, and I work near by so there's only so many lunch options. Pretty sure every single employee was picked at random off the street, never had a proper education, and couldn't serve a glass of water without screwing it up. I've now been waiting for a KIDS MEAL to go for an hour. The first hostess apparently went to tell the chef my to go order never went through, and then 30 min later the second hostess came back saying the original hostess also forgot to tell the kitchen! All the while the manager was standing around doing nothing. No apologies, nothing. Do not waste your money here!!

UPDATE: You may want to check King County Gov. website for restaurant inspections. Violations the last 2 years, latest in February 2013. Temperature of food, food handling, insects, improper food storage. NOT returning ever. I couldn't post this without a "star" but one star is too much.

I have been to Izakaya several times. The manager is not too friendly and always looks me over, disapprovingly. I went to meet a friend for lunch on Saturday and ordered my beloved apple sake first thing. The glass was dirty with an obvious lip print on the side. I asked for a clean glass. Ok. We ordered our lunches and after drinking most of my sake, I noticed a slimy substance at the bottom of my glass. Wow. Looked just like someone spit in it. Seriously? So gross.

this place is a goddamn joke. I went here for maybe the 5th time ever a few days ago, and the Chef on at the time was named Joe i believe..stingy ass mofo. seriously asked our waitress for Eel sauce like 15 times NO JOKE! he kept literally putting a DROP of sauce each time...my friend and i thought we were being punked...so we kept asking to see what would happen...after the 5th time of asking (keep in mind we ordered ALOT of sushi..who eats sushi plain without a dipping sauce??) he told the waitress to tell us that we will have to pay for more because the sauce is expensive and they're trying to "save money" BITCH PLEASE!!!!!!! I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER WHAT IN THE HELL GODDAMN KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS? AT LEAST IF HE GAVE US A DECENT AMOUNT TO START WITH......JESUS CHRIST! ITS DISGUSTING! AS IF MY WELL EARNED MONEY ISNT IMPORTANT TO ME EITHER? FUCK THIS PLACE ITS A DISASTER AND A JOKE. KEEP YOUR MONEY AND YOUR EEL SAUCE JOE IM SURE YOU NEED IT AT NIGHT ASSHOLE.

The ambience at Izakaya located in newish Renton Landing was bifurcated. On one hand, the interior design and decorations were very attractive. And so was the nicely dressed work group sitting at the conveyer belt. They didn't seem like they belonged here, more like somebody plucked them off a sidewalk in Portlandia's Pearl. On the other hand, the loud sucky soft pop being played was a major turnoff. Beware, the menu on the window does not reflect what the menu inside contains. To wit, the menu on the window says they have pork belly but the laminated paper menu they gave me at my table has "Not Available" printed over several of the appetizer items. Sigh, no crispy pork belly. So, I went with the grilled mackerel bento box ($9.50). For a beverage, I tried the Calpico ($3). The Calpico, on first sip, had a pleasant, slightly tart lemonade flavor. But then the cloying sweetness of the drink flooded in, over and through my taste buds. I could barely drink the rest of it. My bento box was sloooow coming to the table. I've never had mackerel before, so I don't know what it really is supposed to taste like. In any case, I found this mackerel extremely fishy (and I can still taste it as I write this review). Also in the bento lunch was miso soup, sunomono, salad greens, tempura and two sushi rolls made with, I think, fake crab. The waitress that took my order never returned to check on me. While the bar looks impressive with a nice array of liquors, that is not enough of a reason to come back.

The name of the restaurant is "Izakaya" NOT "Izakaya Sushi." LOL Why not name the restaurant "Ramen" or "Sushi?" Obviously a non-Japanese (Korean) named the place. There are very few true izakaya small plates on the menu. This is a "kaiten sushi" joint meaning "conveyor belt sushi." The signs says "Yakitori Bar" but it's closed down. The hood still remains under the bar where they had the yakitori grill but that area now holds a beverage refrigerator. They don't even have shochu, which is the Japanese equivalent of vodka, which outsells sake in Japan. They of course have Korean soju which has a lower alcohol content. I tried their happy hour food and ordered their sashimi plate. Meh! 1 star for the great decor & 1 star for the good service I got. The only "izakaya" about this place is the name only.

One of the worst dinning experiences ever. Rude staff & management, total lack of service, and when asked to address the issue management argues with you and insults you. Don't waste your time or money.

I should've listened to Yelp on this one but had to learn the hard way. Izakaya has the lowest fare of Asian food in all of Washington. The teriyaki consisted of a little bowl of meat, prepackaged stale salad from a bag with no dressing, and clumpy rice. To top it off, it was twice as expensive as any strip mall teriyaki joint for about half the size. To make matters worse, I ordered a sushi roll with my teriyaki and noticed it did not come with my meal. I asked the waitress and she said the chef was working on it. I finished my teriyaki and asked her again, only for her to seem puzzled at my question and went to ask the chef. Of course the chef hadn't even started it. I got it to go and wasn't surprised that it did not come with any soy sauce or wasabi. Simply put, it was the most bland sushi roll I've ever had, and I've eaten sushi that was prepared a thousand miles from the nearest ocean. I also had to ask the server for a glass of water three times before I actually got it, and this was when I was one of about six people eating in the whole restaurant. Please do yourself a favor and never eat the overpriced garbage at this pathetic excuse for a restaurant.

The night continues with my friend and I now heading back towards Federal Way. He was hungry and so was I. Sushi!!!! He loves this place at the Landing and since I have wanted to go there after passing it 50 times, I thought it was a great idea. Let's get this straight, my friend is Chinese and I am Black. That would be okay if he were Black and I was a Chinese woman, but I digress. After getting much staring, my friend and I took a seat. He was immediately asked about something to drink and hello, how are you, where have you been? Me, NADA! We both went to the bathroom and pretty much came out at the same time. We got to eating. Another waitress came by and he wanted a dragon roll. It took about 5 minutes and she apologized for the wait. I ended up wanting another Super Ball (so freakin' good) and he told the waitress that I wanted a Super Ball. After 10 full and I do mean full minutes, no super or ball. Hold up, I am still thirsty too. The waitress finally slow drug her self to our area and sat it down. No apology or anything. REALLY!!! YOU THINK!!! I really started to act out and feed him his sushi. A pure kodak moment!!! Will I go back, NO!!! The prices were a little steep considering what you could get at other places for the same quality. The service, uh, yeah right. I think I will tell my friend not to go back too and see how they like that can of cherries.

Just A-OK for me... I ordered udon soup to go. I do appreciate how they separated the udon noodles from the broth and meat. I came back from a hike at Rattlesnake ridge and was HUNGRY. I notice when I'm sooo HUNGRY everything tastes delicious, however, I thought this place was just A-OK. Yes I did eat all the noodles and all the broth, however, I found the udon soup very average. Perhaps I like the broth more sweet. Perhaps they didn't give me enough meat or noodles... the place is definitely better than microwavable or instant udon, however, I wasn't blown away. Hours later I did have a salty residue taste in my mouth. I give them props for being timely though.

The waitress was rude and didn't know what she was doing. I ordered chicken ramen. They gave me pork and argued that it was chicken...everyone at the table agreed...it was pork. The food was mediocre at best. We all agreed we would not come back. I don't like to write negative things about restaurants...everyone can have a bad night. But when you look at other reviews on this place, my assessment is pretty consistent. They would do well to get new management and start over fresh...this would include the wait staff and cooks. Also they played very loud obnoxious techno music. We asked to sit outside so we could hear each other. They must have been playing the music for themselves because there were only two other customers in the restaurant.

It took forever to get seated even though the restaurant was basically empty. The service was horrible, and they accused us of hiding sushi plates and not paying the full bill. On top of that it took forever to get are food and they forgot some things that we ordered. The food we ordered was okay but as i said earlier it took way to long. If you want sushi go somewhere else. Also all the sushi is basically variations of California rolls.

Wow, I have been eating here for a while and I don't get the bad reviews. Maybe it is because I always eat the same lunch special every time I come here. I get the bento with pork bulgogi. Good stuff and I like that it is a variety of stuff for not too much money. I have been eating lunch here once every couple weeks on my break from Boeing. I started the punch card because I have been here so much. You eat 8 times and get the 9th free. I had 8 punches and then realized that it expires every 2 months and you have to get a new card. Wow. I can't eat here that much. Does anyone ever get a free lunch?

Sadly, I can only give two stars. One thing to keep in mind is its a conveyor belt sushi joint - which says a lot in itself. The sushi itself is not bad, but its not great either. The biggest problem I have with Izakaya is the service. I have tried it a few times and always sit at the bar and get ignored most of the time - its like pulling teeth to get someone to refill my beer, or order food. I don't even know why I went back after the first couple of visits.

Not sure about the prices since i have not been to many sushi place like this. I feel the service was pretty good and the sushi was tasty. My two friends i was with love sushi more than i do and they loved this place.

Horrible. I've tried this place twice now and it was one time too many. People who like this probably don't know what good sushi is. I even tried their Katsu Don and eh! Over priced, not fresh, limited flavor and the second time around, poor service. They forgot about our drinks and bill. This is honestly the first time I have ever left a restaurant without giving a tip. I don't see this place lasting long.

Potentially Good Place That Falls Short We first dined here 2 years ago, and thought their sushi wasn't much to write home about, but we enjoyed the ambience of a corner Japanese joint that opens its big sliding glass doors in summertime to let fresh air breeze through and has a sushi-go-round inside. Fast forward two years and the ambience is still good, but the food hasn't improved one bit. This place's name is technically "Izakaya Sushi & Yakitori Bar", so you'd be forgiven for expecting that you could order some beef or chicken yakitori if you came here. Well, it turns out you can't as we discovered when we saw the big "NOT AVAILABLE" sticker slapped on the yakitori section of their menu (see accompanying photo). This also helped explain why nobody was sitting at their empty yakitori bar. Undeterred, we proceeded anyway to order the following, and how I would rate these on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best: Tempura Appetizer - (SCORE: 5) Pretty standard, and nothing unique. Korean Short Ribs Appetizer - (SCORE: 5) I found them to have a slightly odd aftertaste that diminished my overall experience. Izakaya Chicken Dinner - (SCORE: 4) How can you possibly make chicken thigh meat dry? Well, this place figured out a way to wring the moistness out and damage this dish's flavor. Yakisoba Noodles with Chicken - (SCORE: 4) Very uninspiring, with a muted flavor that even an overdose of MSG wouldn't be able to rescue. This place is a real disappointment, especially because they have an awesome location and a lot of potential, but subpar food. They should strongly consider bringing in a new chef to freshen up the menu. Until then, I see no reason to go back.

Best of Renton Landing. Izakaya has a huge menu, but the Sushi conveyor belt won't leave you hungry either. Choice paralysis....lots of good stuff. Twice I have met clients here for lunch. Super convenient and no need to wait for your order to show up. Service is consistent, even if you sit up at the sushi belt. The Dragon Roll, and the sashimi is my favorite. Throw in some endamame and ur good to go! Chopsticks up!

How can an Asian restaurant stay in business with inedible rice???! It was dry and hard in the bento box. Same as the pork tonkatsu - dry and inedible. The quality of the pork was disgusting. The sushi was way WAY overpriced, and most of it was inferior to any other kaiten (conveyor belt) place we've ever been to; like fake crab in a roll that actually tastes old and fishy . . . disgusting! The owners of this place should be totally embarrassed.

This is one of the few restaurants with a happy hour seven days of the week! They have an earlier and later happy hour with a wide selection of food and drinks and daily specials. We've been there twice and enjoyed the food and presentation both times. Service was good and the music was not too loud to have a good conversation.

I really wanted to like Izakaya Sushi. It's close to home and in a great location for dinner before a movie. The first time I tried it was at lunch, and they were new. The food was okay, but for two people, conveyor belt sushi ended up costing over $40/per person. That was about 2 years ago. I warned my fiancee to stay away because of the cost even though he really wanted to try it. I told him that Sushi Land offers about the same quality for half the price. About a week ago, around 10:15 on a Friday night, they happened to be one of the restaurants still open. They had a sign on the window that advertised a special after 10:00 pm offering some kind of roll combination dinner for $14.99. That was enough to lure us in. We were greeted promptly and ordered a beer and soda. While we waited we grabbed a half roll off the belt. We told the waitress we wanted the special in the window and was told that she'd have to check with the manager. She returned to the table and told us that the special was not available. That was a bit frustrating since they had advertised it and now weren't willing to come through on their commitment. We decided to stick with it and give them the good ol' college try anyways. We looked over the menu and grabbed a gyoza off of the belt. The gyoza was actually cold and soggy when we touched it. The server then decided that she didn't want to pay any attention to us. When we finally flagged her down to let her know we were leaving we had the uneaten plate of gyoza and an untouched coke on the table. We had two mediocre small plates of a tempura roll and my beer. She didn't charge for the gyoza but still billed us $2.50 for the coke, the two plates and the beer. I would have liked to speak to a manager but even getting her attention to come to the table was difficult. We took our stuff and headed to Red Robin, where the service was great and the food met expectations. So, sadly Izakaya, we won't be back, no matter how great the advertising in the window is.

3.5 stars There are two conveyor belts that don't connect so depending on where you're sitting determines your access to the sushi selection. My friend and I sat on the side where we had little access so a couple times I walked over to the other belt to grab sushi plates. What I had was delicious but overall the belt lacked selection (we started dinner around 6:30PM on a Friday night). I had two cups of green tea and the water temp ranged from tepid to hot enough for brewing tea bag. Service was okay and the restaurant seemed to accomodate couples up to large groups. Prices were fair, I think, if not slightly on the pricey-for-kaiten-sushi side. I'll proabably be back if I'm in the area.

This little hole in the wall is at the Landing in Renton. I've read bad reviews on it and I must say my husband and I frequent this establishment on a regular basis. Their sushi is always fresh, the tempura is light and fluffy, and drinks are delicious. Service is about average and the staff are ok. There is one girl I forget her name, she's tall and reminds me of someone from so-cal. She's the best! The other servers are a little ditsy. A little giggly and forget.. but the decor and relax atmosphere make this a favorite!

We went there for dinner on Friday, my husband had sushi, a small pork plate and a side of rice, next morning he woke up extremely sick and with food poising. Thanks to this restaurant his birthday which was today was completely ruined. Will never go back.

Visiting my daughter and her husband from San Diego and after a long day doing the tourist thing, we stopped here for a quick dinner. Not sure what the negative reviews are truly based on, but here's my scoop on things. We were greeted by a friendly young lady at the door who immediately seated us. Our server for the evening was a tall, beautiful young lady who was also playing the roll of bartender and told us that we were still in time for the happy hour specials, both food and drink. I love being able to try little bits of things so having Japanese "tapas" during happy hour was perfect. The small bites on the happy hour menu seemed to be at least 50% off the regular menu if not a bit more. Overall, I was very impressed by the service, the cleanliness, the style and decor of the restaurant. The place is very large with seating everywhere and even outside for when the weather is nice. There are also several seats that are situated around a moving conveyor belt of different sushi mini plates and that seemed to be very popular with most diners and a beautiful, bar with hundreds of different bottles on the shelves. We had three different rolls, all brought out on the same large plate...very nice. A bowl of miso soup, hot and not overly salty. One salmon skin hand roll which was truly one of the best I've ever had...not only did it have bits of crunchy salmon skin, it had nice little chunks of salmon...really? Happy hour dishes that included, fried oysters (fresh, hot and crispy) tempura shrimp, (also fresh out of the fryer, crispy, grease less and delish) fried tofu which came as two big chunks of lightly fried tofu in a delicious light broth and truly was amazing....and it must be popular I saw several folks order it as we were sitting there. The rolls my daughter and son in law ordered were large, well presented and didn't last stay very long on the table :oP We were checked on a couple of times and our water glasses were refilled more than twice. Overall, a very pleasant experience, the only bummer is that I live in San Diego but should I ever come this way again, we will def be stopping here....two snaps all around!

I had dinner here last week. The waitresses were helpful and the place was clean. I believe this restaurant is the epitome of why conveyor belt sushi bars should be outlawed. I didn't try any made to order things, but maybe they're better that the pre-made. Definitely won't be back to find out.

Yeah, um, Hi, Bill Lumbergh here. Uh, we have sort of a problem here. Yeah, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you down another notch here. We asked if they could just go ahead and bring some sriracha sauce to go with the chicken teriyaki, and it took upwards of 10 minutes to arrive. Then when the bill arrived, there was a $.50 charge for "sauce." Our waitress didn't mention the extra fee when we requested the sauce. I've never, ever been charged for Sriracha sauce, mayo, mustard, ketchup, soy sauce, or anything of the like. We're going to have to go ahead and not go back here again. Okay? Thaaaanks.

We came here for dinner. I have had sushi here as well as Udon soup. Both were mediocre. Sushi with bad rice..well makes bad sushi. Udon soup was boring. The salad that came with the entree looked like the lettuce had been cooked. Limp and translucent. The only think good about this place is this music. Upbeat Top 40. The service was so, so too.

Not pleasant experience. I was more than half way done with my plate and I saw a baby cockroach on lettuce which was my salad. I took out the lettuce aside and I lost my appetite. I showed it to the waitress and she came back with 20% deal. I don't know if that is the right way to approach or to resolve that type of issues but we walked out not saying a thing. I can simply just not return but I was expecting more of an apology. If I was not careful enough, that little cockroach would be in my tummy now. I feel very disgusted. I came on yelp just to see how the reviews were, and no wonder it's 2.5 stars. I hope this place can focus on cleanliness and learn how to deal with this type of issues. I can understand that all restaurants have faults here and there, but no bug should be on the plate for customers. Didn't mind the price, atmosphere, and taste.

ok sushi place, not all that cheap for the quality of food, guess you're paying for the location. They have seating next to a conveyor belt with mainly sushi items going by, as well, you can order items off the menu, service was good. I would not do a repeat visit, not that bad, but too many better places ;)

My buddy and I went here after he kept raving about the "conveyor belt sushi" joint that he lived near. Of course, I knew he meant kaiten sushi but being a Korean who didn't speak Japanese, he likely didn't care. Being a yakitori bar and kaiten sushi joint, Izakaya seems to have the perfect trappings for an all-night sushi/sake affair. However, the thing that killed me was the service and variety. Our server seemed to be rather scatter brained and told me she put in my yakitori order. She didn't. She told me she put me in for two skewers of each type I ordered when I asked for one. She also made herself inconveniently unavailable when I wanted to order off of the menu. As for the variety, the kaiten sushi seemed to have the usual suspects in selection. Lots of what I call "whitey rolls" or the bastardized versions of sushi that Americans have come to accept as normal. Sorry - while it's been 20 years since I've been back to Japan, I know most decent sushi houses don't serve deep fried rolls. In addition, nigiri sushi was rather sparse and when it was put out, only tuna and salmon seemed to come up. If this place wants to be a winner, it'll need to put more varieties of sushi on the kaiten and perhaps adjust it's layout. Usually you want the kaiten revolving around the sushi chefs so you can still talk to them and request certain items be made so he keeps putting them up. The mass conveyor belt setup just detaches you from that...but then again, I've been to the real thing and could just be asking for too much. Or maybe the regulars just don't really care.

This is the third time I've dined at Izakaya, and will probably be my last. If that ends up not being true, it is only because I'm eating here for convenience, probably starving from getting out from a movie and too lazy to drive elsewhere (nothing else in the neighborhood seems up to par (unless I'm in the mood for a burger at Five Guys)). Here's a few quick notes: 1. Bring your own wasabi. Theirs has no taste and is just a pasty mess. 2. Eat quickly. We weren't even lingering, but were asked to leave when we were still trying to finish our tea because "another group has been waiting for our table". Um, not our fault you chose to install only 3 booths, plus one short booth (which when we left was still empty), in your restaurant. 3. Don't order the tempura or pork belly yakitori. The tempura vegetables were undercooked (really, how difficult could that be when your restaurant isn't very busy), and the pork belly was flavorless, which is a shame because pork belly is one of my favorite dishes. (I haven't tried any of their other yakitori offerings, but based on that experience, probably won't). To be fair, their conveyor belt does seem to offer a lot of selection of different named rolls, but their rolls seem to consist of the same boring ingredients (imitation crab, avocado, cucumbers).

I first ate here when it just opened, and there is something about grand openings of restaurants that makes the food and service so much better. Anyway, the first time we came to Izakaya Sushi, we sat at the bar/grill area, and the food was great. The sushi was really good--I especially loved the yummy roll (deep fried veggie roll), and the miso-marinated black cod. The next few times we came here, it was quite a disappointment. I sat at the kaiten, but you can still order off the menu if you don't see it on the conveyer belt. Bad idea! It took at least 30 minutes for anything I ordered to arrive. Not only that, but it was terrible quality. My yakitori was cold because they left it out for who knows how long, and my spicy scallop hand roll was filled with cooked scallops instead of raw. Weird! Another time, my friends and I sat at a table, and the waitress didn't get our order right. It's the strangest thing, because we watched her write it down, but certain dishes never arrived. They would also bring us random dishes that we didn't order, and they wouldn't even know what they were bringing out when we asked. I don't understand why they're so scatterbrained, but they really need to step it up. I love Japanese food and I live in Renton, so this restaurant is very convenient. However, I definitely gave it a fair chance--I've been about 5 times since it's opened, so I don't think I'll be going back. P.S. It's expensive.

The food was great and good quality. It is a conveyor belt sushi spot so that's a plus. The experience was almost comical. Teenage girl hostesses and servers with no tact, charm or service skills. The hostess was almost trying to deter me from the place by telling me the plates are expensive$4.50/plate. That was wrong. Not all plates are priced that and the quality rolls or specialty rolls were that price. I guess my Nike outfit and drebeats phones made me seem ...like I couldn't afford it?? Good quick satisfying dinner and cocktail . 3 plates + cocktail $23.

Slow service and undercooked tempura. We just went here for dinner tonight. Some of the sushi and sashimi looked and tasted less than great. Service was slow, taking 30 minutes to get some TenDon out to the table. The dessert we ordered later didn't make it to the table until we were adding up the bill. After a 30 minute wait for our ice cream - it came out, melting. Was it just sitting around on a back table somewhere? The tempura was extremely undercooked...leaving us with soggy shrimp and raw vegetables. At the end of our experience, we asked the bill for the 3 of us to be all on one. The final receipt came out split...so she had to explain which ones she wanted us to sign. Overall not a pleasant experience. We will not go back.

Conveyor belt of sushi with lids on them...I was having flashbacks to my time in England! I didn't eat the conveyor belt sushi, but rather ordered separately. Appetizer of croquette (first server plunked the croqettes down and didn't leave us any plates). second server came by and dropped off plates. The second server ended up becoming our permanent server. Ordered california rolls and shrimp tempura roll. Safest bets. I'd come back because they're open late, but not because the food is most excellent. It's all right. Easy parking. An ok place for late night eating.

Welp, I did it again! Going into a restaurant blind without checking Yelp reviews first. Like a lot of other reviews, the conveyer belt here does not get much traffic at all. The rolls looked small and super dried up. When I saw that no one was at the conveyer belt, I figured that they would not put fresh sushi on for a while, so I did not want to sit or eat the sushi off of the belt, but they insisted anyway, saying that we could also order menu items sitting at the belt. The Yakisoba we ordered was very overcooked although the flavor was alright. The Pork Katsu Don was even worse. We ordered pork cutlet, but they gave us microwaved shitlets instead. It was worse than the take out bowls from Uwajimaya, and it costed twice as much. The service was quite slow as well. There were only two waitresses and they both had to tend the dining room as well as the bar area. They walked around slowly like it was no one's business. Ugh It's a shame that this place serves low quality food. I agree that this is a waste of quality space in the Landing.

We live close by and I was excited for a Japanese place within walking distance. Now it's frustrating becaise it's so close but I would never go back for food. One star for the drinks - we had a decent sake. But the sushi smelled way too fishy (sushi should never smell that pungent) amd the 30 minutes we were there not one new plate went on the belt. Guessing not food safe. My boyfriend did eat some of the sushi and got very sick later on. If you're going for a drink, go for it, anything else you have better options.

  • Logan S.

As a lot of other reviews have stated this place is fairly overpriced, and the sushi is not that great. You can get much better food at Sushi Land or the multitude of other Japanese restaurants in the area. Most of the fish served here is very bland, and on multiple visits I constantly see the same pieces going round and round for 20-30 minutes, so I really question the safety of the food. Although obviously this has never deterred me from coming here, and I can't say that I've ever gotten sick eating here. Just an observation. Few good things about this place are the service is generally good, and you can fresh order most sushi. They also have a decent sized menu for a lot of other types of food. There is also a full service bar, which some other sushi places do not offer. I personally really enjoy getting the super ball when I am here, but if I've got options for other places I generally steer clear of here. Tl;Dr.. okay place in a pinch, look elsewhere otherwise.

Pretty awesome that this restaurant opens late but it is ridiculously overpriced. Came in at about 9pm and there was literally like 3 things on the conveyor belt. Service was a bit slow but the servers were very nice. Honestly, the sushi sucks. You're way better off getting sushi elsewhere for a better price. If you want to go on a late night sushi run, might as well drive up to Seattle for Japonessa or Umi's happy hour for twice as much sushi for the same price.

My friend and I picked the perfect day to visit Izakaya! The sun was shinning and we had the perfect lite appetite for a happy hour. This particular restaurant does not offer a competitive happy hour menu. They have daily specials that are very particular to taste. I happened to order the Wednesday drink special called "Red Lotus." Unfortunately, the drink was very watered down. I could taste the water to vodka ratio. I ordered a couple pieces of Nigiri and it was okay in terms of flavor and freshness. I am sure that line just scared a few of you sushi lovers ! Izakaya offers outdoor seating which is nice during the summer months. Considering we had to track down a waitress for service I have to give this restaurant 3 stars. The last thing you want to do is track down service and be forgotten. That was a bit of a bummer. The wait time on the food after placing an order, however, was average. If your a sushi lover in Renton I would say its worth a try if your in the Landing because I am not aware of any competitors nearby. They offer tempura style sushi and conveyer belt style options as well. Check out my picture and let me know what you think if you try them out.

I'll keep this short and sweet so the rest of you can quickly read this and turn in the opposite direction of this place. Pros: Open late, super chill environment. Cons: Dirty tables and booths, wait staff that don't want to be there, and bland sushi. If you're starving this place will fill you up for cheap, but you will walk out underwhelmed.

Do you like conveyor belt sushi restaurants? Well, even if you answered yes, you still might not like this one. It's too expensive and the food isn't especially good. Even though the food is ready-to-eat and you don't have to worry about ordering too much, I think I'd rather just go to an ordinary restaurant if I'm going to be eating this stuff at all. For the better dishes, you're really paying one dollar for one bite of sushi. Any of the cheaper dishes are totally plain and unremarkable. To eat until you're full, you'd easily have to shell out more than fifteen dollars per meal. And something about the way they leave out the soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger makes me not trust the cleanliness. But I really like sushi and it's hard to mess it up for me, so I won't be too harsh on the rating.

::: FOR THE WORKERBEES ::: Free wifi : yes! (password protected) Work friendly : yeah... Comfy seats: Moderate. Wooden chairs. Noise level: moderate. Lighting: moderate/natural lighting in front and dark in back. Interior style: Split into two sides. Restaurant side & Bar side. Bar side is more comfortable. Outlet Access: None. If you run into a nice bartender, they'll let you plug in behind the bar. Overall, I come here when I need to work late in the evenings. It opens til 1a and it's got a full bar with a pretty extensive happy hour menu. Also another perk is the Happy Hour All Day every Monday to Thursday Their music is super loud and kind of makes me feel like i'm in a club sometimes. The bar is good. The conveyor belt has never been a great experience for me and I've got a bunch of times.

Interior was nice and drinks were good, but the food wasn't remarkable and everything seemed pricey. Also the staff seemed young and didn't really know much. I had to ask her if she wanted to see my ID.

Went here with a coworker for lunch and got seated immediately in one of the booths. I pulled a salmon nigiri off the line ($3.50) and it was pretty good! I didn't want to rack up the $$$ on sushi so I ended up ordering one of the lunch specials, spicy chicken teriyaki. It came with miso soup and was enough for me that I had to take home so leftovers. Service was very good. The ladies were friendly and attentive. When my coworker didn't like her sushi they offered to take it back and take it off the bill. She ended up saying no thanks but it was nice of the waitress to offer that.

My daughter and I decided to drop in for some udon which we'd been craving and was in the area. While we were waiting we grabbed a few plates from the conveyer belt. They had been open all of 20 minutes so the food should have been okay. Okay would be the best description. We have been spoiled eating excellent sushi at Sushi Today that we could barely eat the few plates we shared. Unlikely we'll be back as my tempura udon was okay, but my daughter's Niku udon left much to be desired. For beef that sits in broth it was incredibly dry. The Dragon Roll, & gyoza were barely passable.

We had great experience the first few times we went there. We barely eat from the conveyor belt sushi because it seems old. We loved the Seahawks roll but the last couple times we went there they quality was terrible. Do not get the creme brulee, it was cold and clumpy! It's like they torched the sugar then threw it in the fridge..gross! Their service isn't all that great either. They're always short staff which is sucks. You better ask for everything when they come to get your order because there's only one server running around. Sometimes you see the order ready to be serve but the server is busy doing something else.

Price range: at least twice the price compared to any sushi places in bellevue or seattle Quality: horrible. I have never had such horrible sushi in my life in Washington state. Overall, i would not recommend anyone to this place.

Nice location and atmosphere but just didn't really deliver with the quality sushi I was expecting. We showed up on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded but we were sat down quickly. My first impressions were good, the selection seemed ok but as the sushi went by I noticed there really wasn't much selection. They all seemed to be some combinations of cali rolls that included either salmon, cream cheese, and crab or tuna and tempura shrimp. I just felt they lacked in variety. I did end up ordering from their menu of some hand rolls and some appetizers. They chicken karaage was good although more on the mochiko side but still tasty. I had their ikura and creamy scallop sushi pieces and it was ok, the scallops could of been fresher though. I will say the service was really good here and the servers were very attentive to us and was fast. I realize this is a kaiten sushi place but I feel you really need to bring it these days with all of the other choices out there and I felt this place just falls in line with the others.

I had a bad experience with their customer service, they closed the kitchen before they normally do and wouldn't accommodate my order even though it was called in 15 minutes before their kitchen closed. Basically a who gives a crap attitude which is surprising from a customer service oriented industry.

DON'T EXPECT THEM TO HONOR THEIR SPECIALS I've been to Izakaya about 5 or 6 times. They "advertise" their sushi at 50% off from 2-2:30 and 9-9:30 most days, but have multiple times been told that there are exceptions to their posted times. On the latest instance I arrived at 9:25pm and was told the special ended at 9:30pm and I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the special?? The waitress flat out lied to my face saying once 9:30pm hits, that she couldn't ring me up. I've shown up around 9:35 before and a different waitress was able to take care of it with no problem. The sushi is decent in taste, but with the total lack of service at times, I have become burned out on this place. They have lost a customer and I urge others to find a better place to eat.

I've been here a couple times before and none of the experiences were good. I finally gave it another whirl for lunch -- just so I can give it a fair assessment. My friend had the same experience prior to us having lunch together. His previous visit took 45 minutes just to get his food... 15 minutes after he ordered he had to flag someone down and apparently his order wasn't even in with the kitchen as they asked him once again what he ordered. Anyway, I definitely don't plan to return and here is why... Our host/server did not smile whatsoever though not the reason I don't care for the place. She obviously hates her job. I ordered tea and she gave me lukewarm water (my bath water is hotter) so I asked someone else for hot water (came scorching hot the second time around). FYI: They use Costco tea. Kirkland brand green tea to be exact. We ordered. I got the the ramen. O M G the sodium... I barely touched it. I had to get confirmation from my friend who loves salty food and he could barely eat it either. I took two bites and set it aside. I wanted to ask for water so I could dilute it but nobody ever came around to check on us. We had to flag someone down to get our bill. My food was obviously barely touched and never did she ask how everything was. I didn't complain because my friend is embarrassed about that sort of stuff. I think what really turned me off besides having to wait an eternity for our food was looking over into the kitchen to see the cook smell something as if she was checking to make sure it wasn't bad. Reminded me of an episode of Hells Kitchen with Chef Ramsey before he goes in the restaurant to give the place a face lift. The decor is nice. They have conveyer belt sushi as an option too which I noticed not too many people ate off of so it would just keep rotating and rotating. Hmmm wonder how long it just continues to rotate and rotate...

I live close to landing so I was so happy when I found out there is kaiten sushi izakaya. The kaiten sushi isn't the one I expected and it was more like they are making sushi without knowing how. They are pricey and not very good.

I went to this place as my friend and I just wanted to Japanese food that evening. This is a conveyor belt sushi place. They have two conveyor belt. First problem, the servers were mostly focused on one of the belts as they were just opening it. I couldn't get our servers attention to save my life (with sakee of course) Secondly, I found the pricing a little off. Some items were a little over priced, specially the ones which had no fish at all. Lastly, the belt came empty, meaning the item we are waiting for had the tag but no food to follow, quite a few times (6 times to be exact) Will I go back to the place? Only if I'm hungry for Japanese and my Renton friends make me.

Ambiance: Izakaya is fairly lit, with a conveyor belt near the entrance and booths for the bar area. The music was loud, but it was enough to still hold a conversation without much trouble. My husband and I were seated by the conveyor belt. While we were pouring soy sauce and wasabi into our side dishes, he noticed a residue all over his soy sauce bottle. We later figured out it was soy sauce, but it was disappointing to see the lack of detail to wiping down condiment containers that patrons share. Food: The sushi was reasonably sized, but were either hits or misses. My husband and I enjoyed the salmon and tuna nigiri, but unfortunately the conveyor belt was never replenished with more of them during our time there. We also had a plate each of their spicy california roll and spicy tuna roll. Both were good, but didn't have enough spice or flavor. I also ordered their creamy scallop roll, and while it was a good roll, it was also lacking in flavor. The scallop was also finely diced, an unnecessary step to creating this roll. Its presentation was sloppy. The wooden tray it had been served on hadn't been wiped down so while the rolls looked appetizing, its surface's appearance was lackluster. We also noticed that many of the rolls still on the belt were either variations of california rolls or tempura rolls with sauce. Although it isn't our preference to have rolls like those, it was easy to notice that they were not moving as quickly as other plates. Cost: The prices are midrange. Be wary of ordering nigiri from the menu versus the conveyor belt. Ordering nigiri that is normally offered on the belt costs slightly more. Service: The service at Izakaya was pleasant. Our server was cordial, and made sure that our order was taken care of and accurate. Izakaya has a lot of potential to serve fantastic sushi. It's located right in the middle of Renton's Landing, a shopping district, and it looks like it gets a lot of business. Unfortunately, because of its lack of attention to detail, uninspired offerings, and a near empty conveyor belt, I will consider other options if I'm back in the area.

Terrible. Probably the worst sashimi ever. Cups were very dirty. Our appetizer came out about 5 minutes after our dinner, and when we questioned them why this happened, they looked at us as if we were crazy. We ordered the spicy tuna roll, which was fine, but how can you mess that up? If we could give it zero stars we would, but it was a 1 star based upon our waitress taking 1/2 off the sashimi because we didn't eat it. Maybe she knew how rotten it was!

Thought I'd give it a try again for lunch it had been over a year. Just a terrible place overall taking up prime space in a good location. Had the worst spider roll of my life, mostly soggy and filled with imitation crab. Staff is so slow, dodgy and incompetent. It's too bad since it's a nice location and convenient. I had some gyoza which I just happened to watch them pour from a frozen bag ( like you would buy at Jwajimaya) into the cooker. I do hope people will stop coming and they go out of business.

Wow. All I can say is wow. Myself and two friends ate here on the 2nd of January at around 9-10pm. To cut to the chase, the waitress came to take our cards and came back about 10 minutes later. We left and went home. The next day we ALL get alerts from our banks telling us our cards had been compromised and canceled. I was charged $214.67, my friend was charged over $500 and my other friend over $1,000 from the same exact location in Yakima, WA. The waitress or one of the other employees had a card skimmer and sent our card info to an accomplice in Yakima who probably cloned the cards to purchase money orders from a Safeway and a Walgreens TL;DR - We will NEVER be returning to Izakaya and I STRONGLY suggest you do the same. Bad service, terrible food and identity theft. ------- We just called the restaurant to talk to a manager. They were uncooperative and said that they trust their employee's word and that there was no way it could've happened.

**********You might get your credit card info swiped********** Wow, a negative review for once, and for things that I wish could be resolved. So me and two friends go to this sushi joint for happy hour to try the specials. Food was okay, no actual sushi rolls on the happy hour menu (at a sushi bar?) But it's what happened afterwards, that erks me. We all paid our waitress with cards. The following day, all three of our cards #'s were used at two specific locations also located in Washington and for large amounts of money. Now, you and I would conclude, all 3 of us used cards, and all 3 cards were used the following day, it has to be from someone at this establishment... Right? Well not according to the managers, they state it's not possible. I tried to explain to them, the card I used, I use for nothing else, I just so happened to grab that one out of my wallet to pay that day, it's been dormant for quite a while prior. To have all 3 of our cards skimmed and used the next day and at the SAME location, means one person who had all of our cards shortly before, skimmed our info. And low and behold, the only time that happened where we were all together at all recently, was at Izakaya's. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. But the lack of concern/responsibility to ensure that their staff is not involved in credit fraud, is appalling. I'm taking my money elsewhere, and issue out a warning to everyone considering eating here.

The service was good. Came for happy hour because they had great items and prices online. At the restaurant, the menu was different and the item I wanted was discontinued. I ordered chicken katsu, which was dry. The sashimi and cucumber salad were both very good. The prices all were higher than what was shown online. Okay place, but I've had better. Probably won't be back.

We are definitely not returning here I think the only reason they are still In business is because is their location They weren't even that busy - our waitress rarely checked on us The food took one hour before they gave us our order She gives us our sushi & took off didn't ask if we need anything like a little plate for soy sauce Oh my goodness! It's expensive for the quality and the size of the sushi and roll Awfful ...never coming back but I haven't gotten my nabeyaki udon order yet And my BF is already done with his sushi & roll :-( I feel like canceling it already but we waited so long and I'm starving!!

Don't understand how this restaurant has such horrid reviews. My boyfriend and I just completed our second dinner here, and both times, we've had really good service. Reading the other reviews, I see that it all has to do with bad service, but everyone that we have encountered here has been great. Both times we've been here was during happy hour, and the happy hour deals are crazy good! They have a special for 3 rolls for $16.99 and they were full rolls. Very good sushi and fresh! Now, we go out to eat a lot, and sushi is our favorite, so trust me when I say we have tried it all from all the way north in Bellevue to all the way south in Portland, we eat sushi religiously so I know good sushi from bad. The sushi here is good!!! I mean it's not 5 star sushi that you will get from an expensive downtown Seattle joint, but for the price it's way above expectations. Good service, food, drinks, and location. We will continue to come back and do recommend this to everyone.

My favorite sushi spot in town. The dynamite mussels are so good! Katsu & udon noodles are very delicious as well. I love everything here. People would say it's pricey, but to me, I think it's decent priced!

This place is the worst sushi bar I've ever been to. I'm confident I could get better sushi and service in Fargo North Dakota. Decided to try the carousel thing with the girlfriend one night when in the area. Seen the same dishes go by the whole time with nothing new added. Finally had to try and break the language barrier with the waitress and order off the menu. Didn't matter. Ended up getting half of what we ordered right. Couldn't even get the beer order right. Save yourself the time and money and pass on this place. I honestly have no idea how they are even still in business. If I could give them negative stars I would.

I called ahead and was able to reserve a table booth for 6, for an adult birthday party. Loved our waitress, she was friendly and came back to the table often to check on us. Unfortunately her shift ended before we did and a waitress who wasn't as good, replaced her. The sushi was average, nothing over the top. I find that's pretty common with conveyer belt sushi places. We asked for a candle on my friends birthday fruit sundae, she wasn't able to find one so she had the kitchen do birthday decorations on it. Very nice gesture. I feel like the great customer service made up for the mediocre sushi I think overall it's a fun environment and I would recommend going with friends on a Friday night :-)

Eh. This place is in dire need for new management and new employees. Right when you walk in, it feels miserable. Craving sushi, I went with my sister Saturday afternoon during happy hour. Place is dead. We sat at the belt which had a pretty lackluster selection. Rolls were just ok. I've been just as content with rolls from Fred Meyer honestly. No one came to check on us or refill our waters. Had to ask for our check when we were done because no one approached us. Spend your money else where. It's not worth giving this place your business.

Ok, so despite the poor reviews I decided to give this place a chance as I was craving Japanese and I live nearby. Bad decision. It was Saturday night, 9pm, and the restaurant was at 15% capacity. When my server finally showed up, I had to do a double take as she was in a flannel top and jeans. Because I was hungry and didn't want to wait for her to come back again I told her I wanted the sashimi combo and asked what was in it...she disappeared for five minutes came back and told me it had 15 pieces?! Seeing that the question was a lost cause I just ordered it. When my sashimi came, all of it was a gummy texture and evidently previously frozen at some point. A waste of $34. I was never checked on again so I walked over to the conveyor belt and picked up some California rolls, which were reminiscent of grocery store sushi. I had to really wave my server down to get the check, and on the way out, a woman who looked like a member of management looked at me and did not say thank you or bye. Well I was glad to peace out of there, this place is whack!

Ok I almost NEVER write negative reviews.. But this place was just so disappointing. We were completely ignored by our servers, sushi tasted like plastic and even the ginger tasted funky. On top of that, the sauces are funky tasting too. Let's just put it this way.. I rather eat fred Meyer or Safeway sushi over this place. Ps.. How does a server not know what a salmon roll Is when they work at a sushi place... Good god

So here's the deal- the quality of food has stayed the same while the price has increased and the service has declined dramatically over the past few years. My roommate and I have come here for dinner the past two weeks and ordered the exact same thing- sushi and sashimi bento boxes. Last week our salad was served without dressing and our miso came 10 minutes AFTER the rest of the food. This week? Well I'm sitting here an hour after we sat down and no California rolls to speak of. There was 25 minutes between miso and the bento box arriving. We had to ask for the California rolls. Our server seems more apathetic than genuinely sorry. This place could be great, but we won't be returning to see

Returned after quite a while. Still a very mediocre experience. Place is kind of confusing as they have both conveyor sushi, or you can order the same stuff for a higher price off the menu. So if you order a roll off the menu I expect it would be equivalent size to two off the conveyor. Conveyor prices here are higher than average conveyor place. Service was attentive but this was untypical and probably due to it being early though and restaurant was half empty. With not a lot of staff, your mileage may vary if you go during a busier time in which you may have to exercise some patience as other reviewers have pointed out. Got a chirashi bowl and it was a decent value. They used the nigiri cuts not thicker sashimi cuts and it equaled 11 pieces of nigiri, plus miso soup and a HUGE green salad all for $19.95. Good value. Salad dressing was bland. Worst presentation of a chirashi bowl I've ever seen though. Conveyor had a poor selection, mostly what I call "rip off rolls" (dressed up 'fufu' rolls on expensive plates) to cash in on the those afraid to eat the more basic raw stuff. Pretty thin/small cuts on the nigiri. Fish quality is mediocre. I think because we went early (5:30) was why the selection was poor but it WAS a Saturday night. Gyoza off the belt was COLD. New Gyoza off the belt was luke warm - surprising for just appearing on the belt. This place is very mediocre but I wouldn't call it an overall rip-off either. They definitely don't seem to be putting forth much effort to go the extra mile to try to win repeat business. I'd only eat here if I was going to a movie down there and wanted the convenience of just walking to the theater. If you are looking for fine-dining level Japanese/Sushi with high expectations, don't have a lot of patience, or aren't going to the movies down there, you probably want to steer clear. A generous 3-stars.

Food isn't all that great and service is very slow during Happy Hour, also the place wan't even busy during that time. The staff on the floor doesn't have a dress code policy and glued to their cell phones, rather then helping and tending the customers. I think we had to ask two waitress to get some plates, then the bartender came and asked if we were OK. She finally gave us our plates that we requested. This place has potential, but management needs to do some tightening up with the wait staff.

I've been here a handful of times and have never enjoyed myself. Bad service, sticky bar, okay food, and the booths smell like garbage. There are soooo many excellent sushi places in Renton and Seattle, I'm not sure why anyone would choose to dine here other than convenience. With that said, there are much better restaurants in and around the Landing. If you want good sushi, go elsewhere

INCREDIBLY slow service and that's when they're not occupied by their cell phones or talking to each other. I'm almost certain this business is family owned because the servers obviously don't work on tips, nor do they feel the need to practice good customer service because getting fired obviously isn't an option. I took my daughter here for a quick bite to eat before our movie started. She grabbed a plate off the conveyor belt, ate one piece and determined it was not something she wanted. When the server came with the check (after walking past us several times and never once refreshing our drinks or even asking how we were doing. In fact, I had to stop one of the other servers to ask for our check), I asked if she could remove that particular plate from the check since my daughter didn't really care for it. The server passive aggressively said under her breath, but obviously loud enough for me to hear, "ok...but you ate one already...." I'm sorry? Uhh. Yeah...how else would she decide if she liked it or not? Simply saying she couldn't remove the item from the check would have sufficed. I could have done without her commentary. I became frustrated and said it was fine and that I would pay for it. No problem. She walked away and upon her return, said that the manager also said they would not be refunding the cost of that roll to my check. This conversation went on directly behind my daughter and I which made us incredibly uncomfortable. The manager never ONCE approached us to apologize for the inconvenience or anything that normal managers do when a customer isn't pleased. Mind you, the sushi roll plates range from about $2-$5 or so. Our check was around $50 so that additional $4 wasn't killing me, but I guess when business is slow and the service is crap, you want to retain any and every dollar you can to keep the business running. I hope our server pocketed the cost of that plate because a tip was not happening. Will never go to this place again unless they become under new management or hire an entire new team.

The only reason I gave this place more than 1 star is because our server was very nice. Outside of having a nice server, I may have found the worst sushi in the area. I'm honestly nervous about waking up sick, the raw pieces I had were warmer than they probably should have been. Then came the limited options of boring, dime a dozen rolls. Spider, Dragon, Rainbow, California, Spicy Tuna and maybe two more options for rolls. The prices are far too high for what you get. We'll pass next time we're in the mood for sushi.

If you want to burn your wallet and waste your time then come to this place. The atmosphere look nice but that's about it. They charge $4.50 for Green tea the one that you can order from Costco for 20cent each. You must be freaking kidding me. Ordered a dinner combo sushi and sashimi which cost $34 and it came out like a bento box like i order from any teriyaki restaurant you can find at any corner of the street. Not only about the price also the quality. The sushi is tasteless. Sashimi is not high quality as the price they charged NEVER AGAIN

For awhile I thought this place improved. They had a great bartender who made great drinks and provided great service. The food was good. Then the one great bartender left and this place has dissolved into shambles. I had tolerated the inconsistencies - the music which would be top 40 one night and hip hop another, the service would be slow, the drinks would be strong or ridiculously weak. I enjoyed the sushi rolls so I kept going back. Then last night was the final straw. I went in with a friend and we sat in the bar like usual. Ten minutes passed and a waitress came by and gave us menus and water. Another ten minutes passed and another waitress came by and took our orders. She wrote them down as we pointed out each item on the menu and which drinks we wanted. Twenty minutes passed and no one came by with a refill on water. No one came by with our drinks. No one came by. Then our first waitress came by and barely could articulate that the second waitress didn't take our order, had some questions about our order, and it would take awhile longer. She stumbled through what she was trying to say stating the second waitress only had four days on the job. If after four days, and writing down our orders, she still couldn't place an order why was she left alone? If she had questions why didn't she come back to the table? Neither happened. Not willing to wait we walked out.

They need more than one person working on Sundays. We waited 10 minutes and no one came by our table. We saw the hostess/server make eye contact with us but she still didnt come by the table.

If I could do zero stars, I would. The waitress was nice. For me, the only redeeming quality of this place. I am gluten free with a shellfish allergy. This is usually not a problem in any of the sushi places I eat at. After I checked with the waitress, I decided to order a roll (Lion King roll) described as: seared salmon, crab, avocado, cucumber. I asked for this without the crab. I also ordered albacore tataki and negi hama. I got my food. The tataki and negi hama were okay - I would rate them as a 2-3 (meaning they weren't terrible and filled my belly). The lion king roll was nothing like it was described. It was a California roll with seared salmon on top. That's it. I gave it back to the waitress stating that I had ordered it sans crab. She took it to the chef. As I watched with horror, the chef took the plate and grabbed a long narrow implement and started to dig out the California roll mixture and put the deflated pieces onto a new place. I was going to just wait for her to bring it to me, but my brother spoke up first and told the waitress that they needed to start over. (Like that needed to be said!). The chef grabbed the plate with a huff and threw it in the garbage "why did she order that in the first place." The waitress came back and said that the roll couldn't be made without the crab, saying nothing of the interaction we had just witnessed. She asked it I wanted anything else. I said no thanks. We got our bill (full price), paid and left. I could say a lot more about the lack of professionalism, creativity and accommodating special needs, but I think the situation pretty much speaks for itself. Neither my brother or I will be back.

Save your time & money and don't eat here! My husband and I wanted a nice quiet dinner (we too own a small business & work every day during the holidays) and when we walked by it looked inviting. The hostess Olga sat us in a booth and took our drink orders.I ordered the mandarin martini and basically got a screw driver without ice. Blech. My husband got a wasabi bloody mary and it wasn't spicy. We asked a few questions about the menu then she took our order after about 15 minutes. We ordered momma's sushi roll, then for dinner my husband ordered Chicken Yakisoba and I ordered Yakitori Don, which came with Miso soup and sunomono (a cucumber salad). Within 2 minutes she brought out the soup. About 10 minutes later our sushi roll came out, which was tasty (but here's where things went very bad). There were no dipping bowls for soy sauce, nor did they bring us appetizer plates. We got up and found the dipping bowls on other tables, because we couldn't get our server's attention. At this point we needed another round of drinks, but no one ever came by. After finishing the sushi roll another server came by and put a bowl of rice with chicken on top of it in front of me. That was it. I then asked, "don't I get the cucumber salad too?" and she replied "is this what you ordered?" I said, "I think so". She went in back and came back and took my dinner away and said I had the wrong dish, but brought out a tiny plate with about 4 cucumber slices on it. ? Okay, so now I don't have dinner, my husband doesn't either, but I have this tiny cucumber salad...oh and no drinks! Five minutes later she brings me back the SAME bowl of rice and chicken and says "oh this is yours" (after it's been walking around the restaurant for 5 minutes). I ask where my husband's meal is and she says "I don't know, I'll check". She never came back and finally we waived down Olga who seated us and took our order. She too, had no idea and acted dumbfounded. Now my husband was visibly upset and asked her for a manager. All the while my food is getting cold, because I don't want to eat without him. That is the purpose of "going out to dinner together after all". So the woman that brought out my dinner comes to our table and she too doesn't know where his food is. He asks her if she is the manager and she says no and that the manager is Asian, doesn't understand English well and is in back cooking. ????? Finally his meal arrives, mine is now cold and we never get another round of drinks. His yakisoba had only about 6 pcs of chicken and was mostly cabbage. My meal was 80% rice and some chicken on top. We then told our server that we wanted our bill to reflect our disappointment. When the brought the bill, they took off a mere $6. My husband's yakisoba was only $9.50. For an extra $3.50 they could have taken his dinner off. That was the icing on the cake that added insult to injury. Not only did we waste $47 on a meal that was a horrible experience, but we wasted a nice Saturday night that we had planned to unwind and enjoy. Instead we went home furious. In hindsight, we should have checked the reviews before we ate there. Save your money!

I usually have positive reviews on most business I've reviewed but this place will make you regret not making sushi at home. Service: It's bad because the servers are aloof and it is not as prompt as one would hope. One person there tried and did a good job but the rest of her team just sunk the experience down. Plus, brew the tea in the back, don't do the Kirkland Signature bad for me to do myself. $2.50 for a bag of this? I know it's a smaller profit margin for actual Macha but at one thing would have been okay. The kitchen prep area looks dirty and the staff rolling sushi look clearly inexeperienced. Go elsewhere. Period.

My husband and I have tried thus restuarant on two separate occasions. The first time we dined in. The restaurant looked dirty, service was ok, food was ok and price was sky high. I am a huge sushi fan and I am very picky when it comes to fish and raw fish and I was definitely underwhelmed. The second time we ordered out beef teriyaki. The portion was tiny and I was almost $20 a plate. Very dissapointing..

If I could give this sad excuse of a sushi restaurant, zero stars, I would. Terrible terrible terrible!! Terrible service! Honestly the worst quality of sushi (if you can call it that) that we have EVER had. It wasn't a one time deal, either. Tried it twice, each time was the worst experience ever. This is saying a lot because I've been to my share of bad places and this tops it

I've been here many times and I just can't get myself to like it. It's a fabulous place to get quick kaiten sushi, however the rice needs a lot of work. The issue with conveyer belt sushi restaurants is its ability to keep the sushi fresh. I've had great experience with service though.

Another review here says "This place just reeks of a dying business" and that about sums it up. There were 5 other people in the entire place while we were there, during dinner hours. I can bet why: *awkward service -- the bartender asked if we were ready to order less than a minute after we got the very long menu, then whenever we wanted something, we had to get her attention as she came near. She WAS very nice though! * overpriced Americanized sushi (more focused on crazy sauces than fish) * TERRIBLE shu mai! $5 for 4 weird little soggy shu mai?? You're kidding! * THREE beers on tap - Mac N Jacks, Kirin, and "hefeweisen". No real alternatives in bottles. :( I wanted a beer. I will definitely not cheat on my beloved Sushi Cafe for Renton sushi ever again.

This is the worst Japanese restaurant I've been to. We remember not really liking the food the first time we ate here, but decided to give it a 2nd chance...Now we remember why. Their sushi is not fresh. All their raw fish tastes like it was frozen and reheated. Their happy hour dishes also look and taste like they were microwaved. Now we know, we're not coming here again...Even if it's the only late-night option! You'd be better off having McDonald's, and I hate fast food. They are also WAY overpriced for what they offer.

Exceptional food but HORRIBLE, I emphasize horrible service, we had to raise our arms and waive to get one of the 8 waitresses to get us a drink. Please, consider paying attention to your guests. It's customers first! What is wrong with this place? I recommend this place if you are patient and don't mind the wait. They didn't even offer the drinks we had to ask! My overall is 3 stars because the food is good.

I've been to this place about 3 times, once when they opened and then more recently about a week ago. The 1st time I was thinking because they were new that it would get better. But not so, every time I went it got progressively less underwhelming. The conveyor was no better than sushiland but much more expensive. The teriyaki was worse than that of some teriyaki shops. I'm not going to waste my money there anymore.

  • Elizabeth W.

The food is not bad but the service is at times. I placed an order for pick up, arrived at the place and they had not even heard of my order 20 min later...after I waited for them to make my order (Bento box with Kalbi beef) I get home and they had left out items in the bento box (I know because its the only thing I order. Needless to say I was annoyed...

Fed up. I would come here because the sushi is actually decent and they are open late - even though I knew the service was going to be bad I figured I could brush it off long enough to get my sushi fix. Being that I usually eat at the belt - I barely have to deal with the servers. So I can handle it. Tonight was different since it was late and they closed down the conveyor belt for the night. Lord help me I am now going to have to deal with the servers! Gave me sushi no soy plates, soy sauce, or wasabi; asked for them - came back with plates and continued on. What would you like me to do with these plates? What goes in them? My girlfriend got up and grabbed soy sauce and wasabi in front of her. I'm almost positive she didnt think anything of it. Have you ever hot prepared calamari and mussels cold? Me either until tonight. I have so much more to say but my bill is finally here and I'm over it. I will never come back. P.S. - I googled what was the proper tip to leave for bad service. I have never done that ever. I usually tip 20% no matter how bad it is but tonight Chantel is getting 15%. Even though my girl wanted to leave her $1. This establishment is needs help.

I had to make a yelp account just so I could warn people about this place!! This would get 0/5 stars if it were possible. The waitresses haven't been thoroughly trained, or just dont have any experience what so ever with the serving industry. Their managers obviously don't know anything about management. I sat there for 10 minutes waiting to be greeted. Finally I got greeted and brought some water (that never got refilled btw). For the food... It was terrible. I grabbed a couple plates off the belt and the sushi rolls tasted old and were falling apart. When I told my server I saw her tell the manager and he just said "whatever not my problem if she don't like". I only took one bite and they still charged me for the plate....ridiculous! Will never be going back. And will be telling everyone I know how horrible this place is. Terrible service + terrible food = failing restaurant Save your time and your money because this place isn't worth it.

Didn't really like the food, Calamari was very salty. I had the Lion King and Spicy Tuna Roll. The spicy tuna was quite spicy, it was good but wasn't great, same with the Lion King. I guess i expected better. I wouldn't come here unless i was desperate for sushi.

The sushi was good, nothing spectacular. I'm just not a fan of Sushi that appeals to the American pallet- the clusterfark of flavors jamfarked into a tiny roll covered with three different sauces after getting deep fried. The spider roll was a disappointment. Very small serving and where where the crunchy little legs? I also never received a glass of water while waiting for my Sake and sprite. I was getting worried they forgot to bring out the drinks. Don't think I'll be coming back, I just wasn't sold on the value of service or the product they are selling.

I had the teriyaki chicken bento for lunch. Portion size is decent but the teriyaki sauce was way too salty. The tempura was also very oily and my mouth tasted like the oil for quite a while after lunch. My friend ordered a bento as well, but they got the order wrong, twice.

When I first ate here a couple of times. I was pretty happy with taste and variety. But I was pregnant so maybe my taste buds were a bit off and different than the average joe. It's a tad over priced. I've had better selections and faster service at Genki sushi and sushi land. They have a bar, booths, and counter top facing the rotary section. The kids menu is pretty simple 2 selections from a bento to another type of chicken I believe. I believe they have good salads. My bf order a sashimi salad. It looked delish!!! But he told me he had better and bigger portions for the price. Today I had some ramen. Tonkatsu. It was overloaded with bamboo and a couple slices of pork meat a couple of onions here and there with a sprinkle of green minced onions. Don't get me wrong I usually find this ramen on the taster and salty side. But this one was pretty bland. Plus I have never seen it not served with an egg? I requested for chili oil to give it some flavor which helped but it seemed as if I could have cooked it at home. Which I could have... There ebi sushi cost 2.50 and was really tiny and the rice was pretty dried out. I've had 3 times the presentation for the $1.00-1.50 plate. Our waitress was kind of strange today. She asked where we would like to sit. We requested for a booth but didn't hear us being 1 feet away and said okay counter top is fine?? And my by corrected her and said booth but still got sat at the counter. These counter tops are super high and we had our 4 yr old toddler with us. Second weird thing was I asked for a to go box for the miso soup my son barely touched. But she heard miso soup to go?? No offense I know it was silly. But why would I order a fresh miso to go if I had one that was already paid for and untouched? Kind of got on my nerves to be honest. Overall still tipped a decent 6 or 8 bucks. Because my son made a mess while he ate lol This is the last time me and my family would eat here. Only because we know of better joints and I just came back due to the convent spot in our area. Plus both ramen places I go to closed early Total ate 5 items cost $50 blah. Not worth it. And we only had water.

I personally order my food to go when I come here. The sushi is really good, and they make great drinks. But I will say the times I've eaten here they've taken forever to bring my drink, or anything else I ordered. Try taking your food to go

This place has pretty decent sushi! I approve! My go to place in Renton. It's conveyor belt style but they also have a few tables that are regular seating. Everything I have had is good and they also have good cocktails. I like the variety of rolls available as well as other menu items other than sushi. They are open late also which is great!

    (4)
  • Rema C.

The prices were what I've come to expect for restaurants, even if I wish they were more appropriate for sizes given, considering it's a moderate amount for the price. I was welcomed happily and wanted to sit at the conveyer belt, something I've done at another place and had no problem with, and the option to also order from the menu regardless of seating was nice. After I while my legs hurt from the higher chair at the belt and I asked to move, which the waitress was very nice about the move. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back.

  • Diane S.

I had high expectations for the sushi hear, unfortunately it proved my theory just to go into the city for quality sushi. Not only is it a little price for what it is, but there is defiantly a lake of variety at the sushi bar. They defiantly load the bard only with $5 and up plates. Which is a little frustrating and to mention the lack of nigiri. Also the service is very slow and the waitress miss informed of of what was and wasn't on happy hour. Fristrating to hear what you thought you order was on happy hour wasn't.

The reason I'm giving this establishment two stars because of the one bartender/server that seemed to be working the hardest the evening we came in. We went for late night HH and it was decent. Drinks we're okay the bartender was friendly and always smiling whenever she came by to check on us. The problem I found about the staff was not one server had their own section of tables to oversea. At one point we had two different servers waiting on us and we sat at the bar. There was a table behind us apparently had been waiting for their food for over 20 minutes and did not want to pay their bill. The man assessing to the complaint I believed comp their meal and they walked out. Upon going to Izakaya I read the reviews good/bad and went in for a shot. Food wise it was sub par, drink specials not too shabby. Service was poor, disorganization to the fullest.

  • Zach R.

This place was pretty bad. Food was alright but cost quite literally 10 times the price I've had at other places and the service was awful. There were three other patrons and it took it 20 minutes to get glasses water and our orders and an additional half hour for our orders to arrive. The atmosphere in general was very lackadaisical and no one really seemed to give a shit they had customers in their restaurant. It gave me the sads.

My family decided to try this place for an early dinner, and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. After reading some pretty poor reviews I was starting to worry, but thankfully I was proved wrong. We were seated right away by a smiling hostess who took our orders right when we were ready. She brought our food in a timely manner and checked up on us frequently to make sure everything was satisfactory. As for the food, it's pricey for what it is, but by no means is it bad. We got beef ramen, spicy teriyaki, beef and chicken yakisoba, and the katsudon. All tasted just fine although the chicken yakisoba was much better than the beef, which was just okay. The spicy teriyaki has a nice heat to it as well. Over all, it was good but a bit expensive for a family of 5 for the quality of food. I would give the service 4/5 stars. I would go again with friends.

Vegetarians beware! I don't want to be repetitive (of the many bad reviews of this place), so I will be short: -Service was way slow -Chopsticks were given to us DIRTY! Like, caked on food. I had to request new ones. - Most importantly, I ordered vegetable tempura AND THERE WAS A SHRIMP RIGHT ON TOP! If I had not been suspicious of the pinkish color, I would have bitten into it and probably vomited. I have not eaten meat for over ten years and it would NOT have gone well. Then, they had the audacity to CHARGE US FOR THE TEMPURA! Any classy restaurant would never do this. This restaurant is not classy.

We snuck in here for lunch and I was a bit in a hurry. I really hate sitting by the conveyor and I remember hating sitting in the booth, so we were able to grab a table by the window. After a little debate, we ordered a red dragon roll, one of the baked scallop rolls and some nigiri. Mistake. The baked roll took forever. Admittedly, it tasted fine, but it wasn't worth sitting there for 20 minutes waiting for our food. The other roll and nigiri were tasty and other than the timing, I thought the food was better than my previous visit. I'm not sure why the food didn't come out staggered, but we felt rushed and it sort of spoiled lunch. Oh well, I know better next time.

Randomly grabbed dinner here one night and I don't have much today besides salty. I had their udon and it was just salt. I understand a dash of salt, but this is a pile of salt in my soup. For a not so busy time of day, I don't exactly know why it took 10 mins to clean tables that were left long before I got there. Sushi was normal. Nothing to rave over because it was either salty or plain :(

  • Becca K.

Not a bad place to grab sushi but not stellar, either. It has a belt, which is cool, but the selection was pretty small last time I was there. The happy hour deals are good, and some of the menu prices are fair while some of the rolls seem a little over priced for the quality. My only real gripe is there's one waitress who is incredibly slow at bringing drinks, and one talking about nights where it's not busy.

DISCLAIMER: This place is NOT a yakitori bar, it is NOT an izakaya. It is a bar with a sushi conveyer belt. Think a boozy, over priced sushi land. I went here last week with some friends that were in the area. I saw on the sign outside that this was a yakitori bar with sushi. I was super stoked, because I haven't had yakitori since I was in Hokkaido, Japan. The woman who seated us acted as our waitress by asking us what we wanted to order as we were glancing though the menus. I noticed there wasn't yakitori on it, so I asked if there was a yakitori menu. She looked at me in confusion and asked me what yakitori was, at a "yakitori bar". Apparently they don't serve yakitori here because there wasn't a yakitori menu, let alone yakitori on their menu. Super false advertising. Also that woman took our orders, but never rang them in. Guess the joke was on us since she let us know she wasn't our waitresss and had another nice lady help us out instead Since we were already seated and noone else in my party wanted to leave I sat there with them. The Agidashi tofu is good, but they don't give you a spoon with the tofu so you can spoon the sauce over the tofu. I had to ask one of the chefs behind the belt to give me one since our non-waitress was too busy to help us. Also, they serve red velvet and carrot cake on the belt. Tasty, but would be much more so if I didn't have to flag a staff member for a fork. TL;DR: medicore bad service, food is tasty, "Yakitori bar" with no yakitori. This place is a disappointment and have no idea why they call themselves an Izakaya. This place is a boozier, more expensive sushiland. Also, the whole thing with no yakitori is super upsetting. If you want a real Izakaya, you will need to go to Chinatown or Wallingford. Seriously take my word for it. I know Izakaya, I have family and friends that I visit in Japan.

  • Rhi S.

Everyone tells me Izakaya sucks and "don't eat there," but I liked it, a lot. It's like a step up from Genki Sushi. I suppose it can be pricey, but I personally don't need to eat a lot of rice before I'm full so a few plates is plenty for me. I got the teriyaki bento, which is huge! I had a lot of leftovers for dinner. It was delicious and everything was fresh. If you're going to get a maki or anything on the conveyer belt, just order it. You can exclude stuff you don't want, like my husband hates avocado, so it'll be freshly made and you'll have no complaints. The staff are all pretty nice and they seem fairly happy to work there. The establishment is clean and I like the layout they have as well as their decorating style. It's not top of the line of anything but I think this is a nice place for a lunch date or casual dinner. I'll be coming back.

Izakaya is misleading. The menu in the window looks good, the restaurant is very glossy and streamlined but something is amiss. We stopped in recently for an early lunch and the restaurant was deserted. As the time neared noon the restaurant was suddenly full and just as suddenly the service vanished. It was a great trick if you're at a magic show in Vegas, but when you're trying to order, get water or receive your lunch it's a bummer. We both ordered udon and it was a little sad. It was supposed to come with vegetables and I counted four lonely pieces floating amid the soup and noodles. Rarely do I venture to Renton but next time I do I'll go feed my face elsewhere.

  • Cindy N.

The food here is REALLY good. Their sushi is probably the best I've ever had. Don't forget to try the lion kill and dragon roll. You won't be disappointed! The prices are definitely not cheap haha, but its worth it for the good quality food. REMINDER! Happy hour is only available in their bar section, if you sit at the conveyor belt booths you don't get the deals :( The wait staff here is pretty attentive, it's odd though because they're constantly asking you if you would like anything else when you're still deciding and when you need them, they disappear. Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 12 am. Even though they are open for another hour. So if you plan on getting takeout, make sure you place the order maybe at 11:30 ish. But overall I would definitely recommend this place for dates or special occasions. The restaurant is pretty nice on the inside! I'm definitely coming back! LOL when I have the money to.

Would give it 0 stars if possible. In the words of the wise before me.. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Terrible terrible frozen sushi, bad service, and club in the evening. This is no where near what a "kaiten sushi" should be. They should be forced to change their name.

Service was great, food wasn't. Calamari was bad; dry, too greasy, tough to chew. Spicy tuna roll was sad, rice didn't taste right and the spicy tuna itself tasted of bad quality. My guest enjoyed her caterpillar roll, however. I won't be back.

This is complicated. We sat at the sushi bar. Ordered 2 SALMON COLLARS. First server looked as if she never heard of salmon collars and had to confirm it with the menu she had given us. A few carousel plates and lots of phone time time later... ONE YELLOWTAIL COLLAR is brought out. Due to our perplexed looks, our second server asked what was wrong. She was very attentive and nice. She did return to ask if we were sure it was yellowtail and not salmon, because the cook insisted it was salmon. Are you FkNg ShTTnG ME?! The only reason we came here, is for the best salmon collar we've ever had. Second server apologized sincerely, nicely and didn't charge for the yelllowtail. In the end, we did get that best salmon collar ever and the cook did realize his moronic mistake. So yeah. Um. If you have the time and really want that salmon collar, they have that here.

Now I know people are complaining about the "loud" music and "bad" food. BUT I'm young, 27, and the music they play I like it! Right now they are playing Jon B - They Don't Know. Best song ever! As for the food we had (not in one visit this is amongst many times going) the mamas roll (shrimp tempura roll), edamame, gyoza, bento tonkatsu and chicken teriyaki, somen noodles, spicy pork, dragon roll, short ribs, udon. I think there are others but I don't recall. Everything I have order was good. The bento tonkatsu was dry though but it was a bento box so I had other things that were great plus I love sauces so I dunked it in spicy mayo. Mmmm! The pineapple dressing they use on their salad is amazing! I want the recipe. We sit at the bar so maybe that is why we always have a good experience the ladies are so nice, always asking if everything is ok or if we need anything else. I have been here when it is busy. And my service is always the same. I have been a waitress so I know what it is like to have a lot of tables to wait on, so maybe I have more patience than most customers. I'm trying to venture out on the menu so maybe a follow up review will be up. This is a great place if you need a sushi fix and a place to relax. It's close to home for me too.

Was there for lunch and it's wasn't that busy, but had to wait to be seated, then wait to order, and wait for the check. Got a bento teriyaki beef and wasn't impressed. For what I paid ($15 with tax), it was very disappointing. A few of the tempura pieces were huge and could only be finger food. So, slow service, high prices, and meh food. I won't be going back.

This restaurant is ridiculous! I don't think it's necessary to even list all the things that went wrong, because just about everything did go wrong and in reading previous reviews, it appears that the same thing is happening across the board. But I will call out the server, Jessica. After I confronted her about an issue with my check in front of the manager, she still tried to fight me on it. As we were leaving, I spoke to the manager to tell them they need to work on their staff's customer service or re-hire. All he and his assistant could say was 'sorry, sorry'. Dumbshits. I am currently a server and I do not like using Yelp or TripAdvisor or any other site to say something bad about an establishment. Personally, I would rather be told up front, so that I can immediately rectify the issue. But if I am already having an argument with a server and the manager is well aware of it and does nothing about it; does not try to remedy the problem... well then that warrants some negative slashing! And for those that give it a 3-5 star rating, clearly you do not get out much. You are stuck in your little box in Renton. You really should explore 'outside' more, so that you can truly see what great customer service is and how fabulous sushi really tastes! Fuck this place.

I am surprised by the poor reviews, not sure what people expect from a conveyor belt sushi place. I think it's great, way nicer than any other similar places I have been. I have enjoyed all of the sushi (which has always been reasonably fresh every time I have eaten there) available and never had an issue with service either. It's not cheap but not expensive. I like it.

Barely passable but will do in a pinch if you are craving sushi. Lots of roll choices on belt. Super small kids menu. Slow wait staff service.

Mother's Day Disaster Too bad, because the food was tasty and the servers friendly. But who heard of a Japanese restuarant running out of rice? It wasn't that they were too busy, we were seated immediately. Maybe it was a ploy. While waiting a half hour for our rice, we gobbled up many $4.50 plates of sushi. So much that when the rice finally came, we were too full for our entrees. We ordered our food, it came in about 10 minutes with the promise that the rice was on it's way. 15 minutes later, we're told it would be here in 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, one bowl showed up. My food by then was cold, so I asked that it be reheated. My rice came a short time later, but my entree (behing reheated) was nowhere to be found. It came about 5 minutes later. Tea, usually complimentary was $2.50. My first serving was just hot enough to seep. My refill was room temp. Now that I think about it, my miso soup was also tepid. Usually I'd give a restuarant a second chance, but we rang up a $100 bill. Just too expensive for the possibility of another bad experience. Should have checked Yelp first. Probably would have went elsewhere.

Even for a conveyor belt sushi place, this place is below average. The array of items on the conveyor were a bit disorganized, with some dishes lacking the sneeze covers. The variety of items was quite small, though some were good. I really enjoyed the Seahawks Roll. I know, not really sushi, but whatever, it was good. But perhaps my biggest complaint was the sushi rice was mushy. That was deeply disappointing. The sushi rice is like the foundation, the frame of the house. The myriad fillings and toppings couldn't mask the inadequacy of the rice. Putting on additional coats of paint doesn't change the fact that the house still needs renovations. On the plus side, the interior was very nice, and they apparently have a nice happy hour, with decent deals on drinks. For the money, I would rather go to Sushiland or Blue C. But if you're nearby, and it's happy hour, it'll do in a pinch.

Sushi was fresh, the service was extra lame, slow and nonexistent at times. We were a table of 10 so it would have been difficult to ignore such a large sized party but evenso, several waitresses would walk past our table on several occasions and not even ask if we needed anything. Confusion was everywhere, none of the servers had their shit together. One waitress came by and asked us if we needed anything and never came back with our requests. Also, if your going to wait tables at a Japanese restaurant, learn the names of the food, we shouldn't have to point out on the menu the type of udon or sashimi we want. The food was actually good but the service was so bad I will not step foot in there again. Hopefully the management reads their yelp reviews and bring some improved professionalism into their business.

It took 10 mins to be noticed we were there!!! 20 mins for a lemonade!!! And 30 mins for entre, seeing others served who came in after us!!!! Chicken teriyaki was nothing but fat!!!! When brought to servers attention nothing was done!!!! Will not go back, now I have to go somewhere else to get something to eat!!!!!

Located in the Renton Landing outdoor shopping, this sushi restaurant offers outdoor seating, sushi bar seating and booth seating. I really like the decor of the restaurant especially the restroom--- very modern and functional! (atmosphere/decor is a big factor in my reviews b/c it adds to my experience). Sushi was pretty good meaning that there was pretty good diversity and NOT wet rolled (i hate sushi that is soggy... it can happen when it is rolled). Customer traffic flow was steady in the late afternoon when I came, so the sushi bar seemed to not be sitting on the belt for too many turns, which is good. Service was okay, given they had one waitstaff for the entire restaurant including bar, outdoor seating and booth seating... which makes me wonder, why 2 sushi chefs, grill staff and 1 bartender, but only one waitstaff for all the customers including cashiering... hopefully the evening shift there is more waiters. overall, pretty good, and I'll be back to try the evening meals.

I had the best cocktail at Izakaya Sushi at The Landing in Renton! Jeanette made me a Japanese Slipper with Midori, Cointreau, and lime juice, shaken over ice and served martini style. I will be back again.

I came here with my friend before we went to a movie because we where craving some sushi...we weren't that impressed. They didn't have that great of a sushi selection, the edemame tasted like salt water, and the ramen tasted awful!!! The niku udon wasn't bad but defiantly not worth me coming back for it. The only roll that I liked was called Mama's roll and that had cream cheese, avocado, crab and tempura crunches on top, but even though I enjoyed that roll, still not worth going back too.

10 visits, first 5 were great. Next 5 got worse each time. Last straw was a 20 min wait for a kids sundae. This was after bringing us a piece of velvet cake frozen hard that they did not take off the bill. Slow on putting sushi up. Had to flag down the server each and every time we needed something. Will try them again after the new year and see if it's gotten better, if they are still there..

My husband and I have eaten here once during Happy Hour. Reasonably priced food and beer DURING Happy Hour. We stopped by the other day to have lunch. Had 2 plates of California roll ( 3 pieces each plate and VERY small pieces at that ) and 2 other rolls off the conveyor belt and 2 green teas. Bill came to about $20. Kinda pricey for mediocre food. I've had better. Your hostess may not tell you, but BEWARE, if you order green tea they charge you $2.50 for Kirkland Brand green tea. Left hungry and disappointed.

Just trying a new sushi place out on Sunday night W/ my friend & the bf... Should've looked on Yelp before we went... =( Nice scenery, Thought everything would be decent price for the conveyor belt sushi like everywhere else but NO it is not. Total rip off. Too over priced. Calamari was like $7.50. Calpico drink $3, When you can go to the grocery store & Get it for $1ish. Fiji bottled water $3, When it's like $1.90 at Target (A few blocks away). & They CHARGE for hot green tea? (Everywhere else, It's complimentary) Geez, I guess rent must be super high... I can actually imagine this place in the Bellevue/Seattle area because it is a "Sushi BAR" & The upscale high prices... Only thing I'll go back for is... CREME BRULEE', Tasty & I think it was $3.50... Genki Sushi is where I'll stay... Simple, inexpensive, variety, chic

"yakitori bar" did it for me, I was driving by and saw izakaya. I have been looking for a yakitori restaurant for a while now and was excited to dine here. I was so excited I didn't even bother to check the menu before entering. I sat at the conveyor belt and looked at the menu and didn't even see anything yakitori! I should've left but I figure give them a try. ALL BAD! I must've seen the same rolls pass by at least 20 times, they didn't even bother putting new dishes up, everything looked dry and nasty! I decided to grab a roll that looked somewhat decent, gross. I Just wasted stomach space tonight :(

The one time we tried this place most of the food on the belt was plastic, forcing us to locate a server every time we wanted something and then waaaaait for it..... which completely defeats the purpose of going to kaiten. The price was not right in comparison to the service and we have no desire to return. Pity too since there are a lot of good restaurants in the Renton Landing area.

The space and the layout of the restaurant/bar are great! Our waiter, Jimmy, was awesome! I only wish that we had gotten there a bit earlier - as some of the sushi was questionable - it was obvious it had been sitting out for awhile - so we were getting the dregs. However, when we ordered some fresh sushi, it was really good - and I got to watch the sushi chefs actually make our dishes. I think we will go back - at a normal time instead of right before closing so I can give this place a better rating.

It's really inconsistent, somedays the sushi is on point and other days it's not great at all. The presentation of everything is nice, but the taste isn't always so fresh. It's a bit pricey, but I'd have to say the Yakisoba is probably the best dish at this restaurant. It's pretty much a 60% hit, and 40% miss, just hope you're in on the 60% days. The service is usually pretty quick on the hit days, but on the miss days it takes way too long to get attention from them.

Of all the sushi places I've tried, Izakaya is one of the more expensive. Personally, I think you could find a majority of their menu items for much cheaper at other places, all for the same quality. I do admit, though, that their special rolls are creative and contain a variety of ingredients versus their otherwise plain competitors. One item I would highly recommend would be the Super Ball (I know, the name is a bit off-putting). It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like - a round, dumpling-like ball stuffed with crab and other tasty ingredients. Officially my favorite! As for the service, it's not exceptional, but it's not terribly bad, either. I would recommend that their waiters and hosts be more enthusiastic. They weren't rude - just a little more softspoken than others that I've encountered. People like to be helped by friendly employees, yes? And their employees aren't exactly the most lively bunch...

This place is the worst I have ever been to. The sushi wasn't fresh and the green tea has no flavor. I definitely am a fan of the conveyor type sushi but only if it is done correctly. Most of what we ate tasted like old. Don't waste your time, please.

I wish I had checked Yelp reviews before I went here... but I was in the area about to see a movie at the Landing so we decided to just try this place because it was nearby. I have to say that I know why this place only has 2 1/2 stars. The place looks really nice and everything looks really clean, which is about the only good thing about it. We sat in the middle with the sushi conveyor belt since their happy hour didn't even look that great. All of the dishes on the conveyor belt were ridiculously overpriced. For example, a dish with two pieces of salmon that costs $2.00 at Sushiland cost $3.50 here. We figured since everything was so pricey, it would taste really good, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The sushi was not very fresh and we agreed that Sushiland is much better. They have a bunch of interesting looking sushi rolls, but they looked better than they tasted. One of the sushi rolls that was fried was supposed to be warm but it was cold, so it was obvious that they leave their sushi out for a while. The food here is not disgusting, but I would avoid it at all costs. If it was similarly priced to Sushiland, I might've came back, but it is definitely not worth it for the price and quality of sushi.

The food is good but the service was lacking. Basically, if you want good service, sit near the conveyor belt where you can serve yourself. We had to sit in the bar side and it took forever to get them to take our order and then to get us our beer. BOTTLED BEER, so not too hard to do, just take off the cap!

Whoa... I am surprised by all the poor reviews on here because when I went there I saw a "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker on the door... and so I entered..... Came here yesterday right before 8pm after my workout at KING CROSSFIT, and was ready to eat! It was either this or Five Guys Burgers, so I picked this one. A new place me and my guy haven't tried before. There were about 10 people eating at the conveyor belt. I didn't even know it was conveyor belt type sushi place because they only had one running in the middle of the restaurant. Anyways, I'm not a fan of those types of sushi places because they are never really good. So anyways, we sat near the cooks and glanced at all the sushi passing by. I have to admit they all looked really good. The waitress also didn't tell us how much each of the colored plates cost and then after I looked around, I saw it posted on the wall behind me. Plates range from $1.50 to $5.50. The only thing you can probably get for $1.50 is the edaname so we started off with that. We checked out the menu and decided to order the Black Cod. Unfortunately, they were all out of it. :( Then we decided to go with the Mackerel to share and decided to get more of the dishes on the conveyor belt because I saw the Tuna and Salmon sashimi roll by. I grabbed the last one right away and OOh! It was good!! No heavy fishy flavor, just melted in my mouth, YUM! I love the unlimited ginger too. We then got the red dragon roll, the dragon roll, the superball (crab, mushrooms and something), tiger roll; all very good. I don't remember what else we got but I was really happy. The best part was when the mackerel came out. Two filets next to a bed of salad and sunomono with a bowl of rice on the side + miso soup. The mackerel was just melt in your mouth! I will never order anything else here. It was to die for. Every bite was mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... so good. I loved every bit of my experience here and will definitely come back. Hopefully their food quality is consistent. Service was ok, nothing exceptional, but acceptable. No complaints here at all. Oh and they also have a nicely stocked bar for when you want to get liquored up. :)

I popped in here because it has two big TVs and the Laker game was on. So it seemed fitting. First of all, actually getting our order in was a success. We sat at the sushi bar so I could eat sushi, but my friend doesn't eat sushi, and getting the waiter to take a second to take her order was impossible! I went through 2 plates before one even came by. The place has a cool vibe, it's fun. Now the food... The sushi wasn't at all fresh. I like the fun of the conveyer belt sushi; it's entertaining. But it has to be good, especially for the price tag. WAY overpriced. About $40 for two people! The sushi was just ok. I tried almost every roll, and despite being happy hour, I wan't extremely satisfied. Sushi is only good when it is fresh! Having food lying around for hours on a conveyer belt? That's not fresh. Decent Eats. Renton Landing!

I wanted to go to this place because of their name, Izakaya. I was in the area so decided to stop here for a quick bite. Was looking forward to some decent izakaya food. Outside they advertised the grilled food but on the menu it was unavailable. For an Izakaya, it doesn't have much izakaya style of food. Just a typical conveyor belt sushi with the name izakaya attached. The place is nicely decorated. However the way the conveyor belts is shape is a bit awkward, not convenient when you want to order something that are not already on the belt. A bit pricey for this kind of establishment, tuna $3.50 salmon for $3.50, ikura for $4.50. They also charged $2.50 for tea bag, when most places are usually free. Out of all, only the salmon tasted decent, Tuna was dry and tasteless. Ikura was not fresh and very fishy. They don't have many option for nigiri. The sushi rolls tasted decent and the creme brule was pretty good. Service was alright, my server was nice but not attentive enough. Didn't check on me after I got my tea, had to flag him down several times.

Boy am I infuriated!!! I feel dumb and disgusted. I came her about a month or so ago with my hubby for a little date night. We walked in, and the waitresses at the front almost gave off a snotty attitude. My inner gut instincts should have told me something then... but my outer gut was saying, "Go on in!" We finally get seated away from the Kaiten bar, with nothing on the Kaiten, and by the regular bar full of drunks and such. We waited forever for a water. While my hubby and I are a fairly young, urban, hip couple, the music was extremely loud and obnoxious. I felt like dancing. If I want to hear that, I would go clubbing. The table felt icky. Waitress took her time coming back. We order some expensive sushi, save for the calamari we ordered from the Happy Hour menu. We had to double order because, that wasn't enough food to feed a 5 year old! Waitress never returned, and when she did I had to practically trip her to get her to return! Extremely slowwwww service. One of the waitresses was practically sitting in one of the patrons laps. Guess they were having drinks too. Liked the calamari (that took 20 mins), twice, liked the decor, liked the bathroom. We spent all night there and half a bill ($50). Decided not to tip, nor return. Especially after reading someone found a baby roach? I want to puke now! READ MY TYPE: D O N O T G O H E R E!!!!!!

As I no longer eat at Izayaki, I can not recommend it any more. It was only good when the owner was making the sushi. As I am truthful in my posts, I do not recommend this place anymore. Food not fresh and thats not good for a sushi place.

Customer service was horrible. During happy hour not only did it took 34minutes to have our order placed Once we ate our bill reflected full entree prices and not happy hour prices. The waitress told us that it wasn't happy hour when it was. Then another waitress told us yes it is happy hour but we gave you full sizes so we can't adjust your price. It took another 30minutes and arguing with three different waitresses to finally give us the correct bill in which we paid 25dollars for an amount of food more worth $8.00. Never again will we return.

Okay, for all you fools who compare Izakaya to Sushiland and Blue C... just STOP. Here is chart to give you a little perspective: Old Navy = Sushiland Gap = Blue C Banana Republic = Umi Sake, Wasabi Bistro, Izakaya, etc. Personally, I liked Izakaya. It's not a restaurant I'm going to be raving about but I thought it was decent. Granted the price was more than the cheap eats of Sushiland and Blue C, but that's because the quality of seafood is better. Seriously, try the sashimi there and compare it to the other cheap sushi places. I'm not taking anything away from Sushiland or Blue C. I actually love eating at those places too and I eat there quite often actually. But Izakaya ain't bad at all. Safeway Sushi... now THAT is bad.

  • Jon L.

Not good nor bad. This is a fair place to have sushi on the belt style. However, if you're thinking in terms of price vs quality, this restaurant is not for you. You're definitely paying for location and the full bar. The drinks here are overall good as well.

I was introduced to this restaurant when it first opened since my cousin was working there. One of the first restaurants in the Landing. The design and atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The bar side and facility is well designed, the entire place is eye appealing and modern. But let's get to the point, we're here to judge food after all! The variety is good. Their menu has changed from when they first opened. I'm unsure as to whether or not it's "better" than before, but there are a few rolls gone now that I liked before. The yakitori is really good though! Within the group I've come with, we've had sake a few times and it was okay. There's a few good ones, I suggest trying the flavored ones! It is a bit on the expensive side. I liked coming here when it first opened, but not as much anymore. I haven't been here on the weekends lately, but it was pretty dead the last time I was there. I'd like to see them build a website with an online menu.

My first time here. So, if your looking for a good sushi, this is the place. If you been to Sushi Land, it's about the same thing as they sushi is on a belt constantly moving while you grab a plate and eat. They charge you by the color of the plate. I didn't check how much each plate cost but my friend and I both came out to be $40.00, and that's with drinks and dessert (mochi). To be honest, the food was pretty good. Not too good but not too bad. They have their own versions of what they make so you have to take a risk of choosing. I took a plate thinking it might be good but when I took a bite...it wasn't what I expected. Try their Mochi ice cream for dessert. They come varieties of flavor and I chose green tea and strawberry. =) But overall, I liked it a lot. The servers were very nice, friendly, and keep checking up on you unlike Sushi Land which has terrible service.

Cold. We ordered a rib eye and bacon wrapped scallop skewers, chicken wings, calamari, and edamame. The food came in batches and everything was cold. It was happy hour and the portions were tiny for the prices that we did not walk away happy. What Japanese restaurant gives you a tea bag and hot water when you ask for green tea?! To their credit, the conveyor belt sushi section seemed hoppin' that we may try that one day but not anytime soon.

The pros: The sushi is really delicious. I love the conveyer belt style where you pick and choose. Really cool atmosphere. The prices are pretty inexpensive too, so I never spend over $30 for dinner for two. The cons: the hours are really inconvenient, especially if you're looking to eat there for lunch. Another gripe I have is that happy hour only applies to half of the restaurant which I thought was really weird. You don't get happy hour prices if you sit at the conveyer belt, who does that?? Another thing is that it can get pretty crowded sometimes and it seems like the second conveyer belt (that is not attached to the first) never seems to be on, they try to squeeze as many people on the first one as they can and that can cause some pretty uncomfortably close situations that I don't appreciate. Overall: Though a lot of little things at this place annoy me, I must admit, I'm a repeat customer. I love the food and I love the prices -- I eat here all the time. ************ Something to note: I went the other day and realized after looking at my receipt that they charged me 10% in tax when the tax rate in Renton is 9.5%. I know it's only a few pennies but if they do that to all their customers, it adds up to a lot. LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPT. *********

I'm giving Izakaya 2 stars, mainly because it sort of fills a sushi void between Southcenter (well, kaiten anyway) and Bellevue. And it's fairly clean. That's about it. Our 1st visit was on its soft opening night. Great service, of course. We sampled some bar bites. Underwhelming. Drinks (including beer) were very pricey. The offerings on the conveyor belt were fine but nothing spectacular. The 2nd time, we decided to try some small plates in the bar before a movie. Even at happy hour prices, the quality and portion size were unsatisfactory. Service was sparse. The music selection was ridiculous. We walked away feeling like we just filled up on old newspaper. Izakaya has been a disappointment. I'm telling all my friends to skip it.

Wow. We've been here twice before, and it has been pretty good. Tonight, the service began disinterested, all of our orders were messed up, and we sat at the table for looong stretches of time without seeing a server. And it was Wednesday! On the plus side, once they got their act together, things got much, much better. The service went from absent to prompt, and they discounted our bill for all of the problems. As it goes, it was the best bad situation I've had at a restaurant in a long time, and I felt appreciated enough as a customer that I'll go back in a heartbeat to try again. Everyone has their off days...

Was one of our top sushi places until trying to enjoy happy hour that was supposed to go til 1am but felt pressured to kick us out at 1030 with ourselves and another table around. By then the kitchen and the whole staff decided to celebrate their ownselves in the bar, pouring their own drinks and drinking with us guest still around, UNPROFESSIONAL I say...don't think I'll be back with the standards they just lowered to me. Celebrating employee birthdays at work is just unclassy

I must say I was disappointed at first, as I was expecting this place to be just like Marinepolis (Sushiland) where I could stuff myself with sushi for cheap. This place isn't really a kaiten sushi bar as the kaiten part is really just a portion of the business. There's a menu where you could order appetizers, all types of nigiri, udon, soba, and yakitori. There's also a full bar with drink menu like Saketini and absinth. I love the decor, it's not over the top like Blue C, nor is it bare like Marinepolis; it's trendy but cozy with mostly dark, wood based furniture. I guess "trendy" is probably a good way to describe it; this restaurant would fit perfectly into neighborhoods like Belltown, especially with the soft jazz that played through the overhead speaks. Normally I spend about $25 including tip at Marinepolis, but at Izakaya, I spent $45 (alone). That's nearly twice as much as Marinepolish, albeit the quality is better, but really not 200% better. The variety is not that great either, on top of that, their Uni was probably the worst I've ever had in my whole life. Another thing that really annoyed me is that they put plastic imitation food (the kind that are for display only) on the conveyor belt. Oh, and I hate the bar-height seats, too, although they're nice and trendy looking; I just don't like to eat while sitting that high. This isn't a kid friendly, family oriented restaurant, it's more of a place for yuppies and hipsters to hang out, have a few drinks with some sushi, and chat quietly. Although I probably won't come here more than twice a year, I'm still glad it is here, considering Renton is still somewhat of a redneck town.

My coworker and I went to this restaurant because he was craving sushi. They are a conveyor belt type place and my experiences at these establishments haven't been too bad, but at this restaurant, it is ehhh-ok but isn't too pricey so I won't complain. They're also never that busy because we're usually the only ones in there, which leaves me guessing how fresh the food us. Anyways, during this visit, and to my surprise, the seats at the belt were full. The waitress told us that we can sit at the table and walk over to pick up whatever we wanted from the conveyor belt, and bring it back to our table 30 feet away. What kind of service is that?!?! Another waitress came over to greet us and offered a table next to the belt. Why weren't we offered that in the first place? If it wasn't for my coworker, I would NOT go back there.

While shopping with my Husband we stopped to grab something to drink and perhaps 1 roll to share as a snack. We ended up sitting at the conveyor belt and getting 6 plates! Sushi was good. Not the best, and not the worst, but good enough I'd go back. We didn't eat anything but the sushi however so it is all I can review. We ordered a roll that never came. We askd for it 3 times, but it never came, we did get there during a rush, but this was a big downer for us. The one reason we'll go back is for the Boeing Roll. We both loved it and found it to be unique in the area. Otherwise this place is general run of the mill sushi, avoid during busy times.

I'm a huge fan of sushi... and conveyor sushi is a great way to eat a lot quickly and cheaply. My wife and I stopped in here for a quick 'tweener' meal before our late dinner. Upon entering, the waitress said it was happy hour, and directed us to two seats at the end of the bar, and handed us our menus with the happy hour side face up. We each ordered a happy hour drink and began looking over the sushi selection. The sushi here comes out in segments, which each segment labeled with the kind of sushi it is. So, if you miss one, it doesn't come around again for a little while. I prefer the more random approach to the belt, as it puts some variety in my selection, and just looks more fun. The qualify of the sushi was average to above average, however that is reflected in the prices. Sushi here is quite a bit more expensive than your typical belt-style place. We each had a couple plates of sushi, finished our drinks and asked for the bill. When we got the bill, our drinks were billed at full price, not happy hour price. When I asked them to fix it, the waitress said that happy hour was only good when seated in the bar. WTF? Since we were told it was happy hour when we arrived, were handed happy hour menus, and were directed to a seat by the waitress, this blew my mind. She wouldn't budge, and therefore she won't be getting any more of our business. Terrible customer experience.

The short: Restaurant interior: cool Sushi: bad rice / no variety Yakitori: not worth the wait Service: barely any Not recommended So this looks like another "Korean-owned-wannabe-Japanese" restaurant. All the rolls consisted of the fake crab meat salad rolled with (name your filling). The plates were overpriced. Kappa maki's were $3.50!??! Better be gold cucumbers in it. The nigiri sushi would be OK, but the rice was bad. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it made the whole nigiri bad. Stick with Genki Sushi for your kaiten (or even real sushi) fix. If you want yakitori, order ahead, arrive 40 minutes later, and it'll be ready for you. What's the deal? It does not take 40 minutes to grill small skewered meats and veg. They weren't even busy. If they're going to use the word "yakitori" in the restaurant's name, they should know how make it quickly and be delicious. The yakitori wasn't even worth the wait and cold by time we got it. As for the service, we couldn't understand the hostess. The waitress messed up our orders. Again, it took forever for the rolls we ordered to come out from the kitchen. They do have super tall high-chairs for the kiddies to sit at the kaiten sushi bar. I guess that qualifies them for the default 1-star.

Three of us came around 7:30, we sat at a booth. I had chicken teryi, another guy had the beef and the third person in my group had sashimi. The plates are about $15-$20. IT was served with soup, a salad and the entree which included rice and fried veggies/shrimp. The salad also had three shrimp. It was pretty good. At first I thought it was a little expensive, but after being served the three courses I was perfectly happy with it. The service was a little slow but pretty decent. It was not busy the Wednesday night we went. I'll come back in the future.

you know...I wish I could give half stars cuz I would give it a 3.5! Like always Alvin and I enjoy trying all the new restaurants opening up especially if they are close by! a very nice setting inside...I like that the rotating belt is one medium length strip so if I change my mind about a dish I don't have to wait forever for it to come around again. Unfortunately it took a while for us to get our drinks and it was not that busy...even after they poured our drinks they were sitting at the bar for a while...I know because I was staring at them thinking "I'm pretty sure those are our drinks sitting there" and it was a little difficult getting the attention of the waitress to let her know! The sushi chefs greeted us when we walked in like all sushi chefs do but they didn't seem very lively like other sushi chefs that i've met. They never really looked up and rarely smiled, and they seemed so busy that I felt like I couldn't really order from them and the waitress even said to order with her instead even though I was sitting right next to the chefs! I really enjoy conversing and laughing with chefs at other restaurants and sharing the occasional shot of sake! One thing that caught my eye was the Absinth...I didn't know they legalized it here! haha! I would like to try that some day...I know they say it's a bit watered down but maybe I'll still see smaller maybe paler green faries! =D The food itself was delish...nothing negative about the food itself. good selection of sushi, soups, and items such as bbq and yakisoba. a decent experience but not sure if I'll come back (except maybe to try the absinth) because I feel like I can get the same quality with better prices and service somewhere else...

What a great new kaiten sushi spot that opened a couple weeks ago! The interior design is really cool, hip, modern, and you get a subtle vibe of classy. The bar looks cool, but didn't over there. The kaiten bar seating isn't chair-style but like a high-chair/bar-chair style (nice wood). I prefer the low chair but oh well. Some thing you may not notice is the plush wall underneath the counter. I'm used to scooting up and if my knees hit the wall it's usually hard---but here it was like, "....oh!----nice!" awesome sushi and plates. they have "baked" (the Dynamite is freakin' good), "deep-fried", and, of course, "regular". bathroom is sweet, too. Service was good, although Steve could've stopped bothering me to try "this" and try "that" (although I tried the Dynamite thx to him). But I think he slows it down once you're settled in. The place is sharp-lookin' people. :) Oh, the conveyor belt is diff than others; it's plain steel and there's no partition! So, if you don't see anything on the near-side belt, you can just reach over the other side for something. Partitions are great for privacy but don't enable friendly chat with customers. Pretty artificial samples (u know, the stuff u can't eat ^^) roll around, too, like rolled sushi in a wood stand. Thanks to no partition, I had my first experience chatting! hahah. I was halfway in my stay and here come these 2 korean ladies (elder mom and daughter). apparently, they know their gooey duck (geoduck)! that must have been my longest conversation with ANYONE in YEARS. LOL. it was great, and really funny. oh, it's not on their menu, but if you wanna try gooey duck, I'd ask about it first (the korean ladies said it's too small for them). Note: They only load the belt fresh during "lunch" and "dinner" hours. You can still eat between and make orders but they don't put fresh items out "after lunch" and "before dinner". I'll definitely be back... and I love the old school music that plays (mostly 80's jam).

Just as yelped explained it: Meh. I've experienced better. I'm all about trying new places, we met with friends and it was in the landing, so i thought, that it was convenient . the food was okay, not too bad, not great by any means. just meh. we sat in the bar to avoid the conveyor belt sushi, my friend had ordered an app before we got there, and after we placed our order for sushi and what not, 2 minutes later we got sushi!!! it didnt look so fresh. comes time to cash out, and we asked if we can use two cards, so we said put $20 on this card (being mine), and $55 (being my friends), she comes back with two receipts, both with my name on it, WTF? baah, simple mistake, no big deal, we ask her to void the $55 and rerun to charge my friends card. shes goes back, to fix it, comes back for my card, i guess for the void... and voila!! to my surprise, she voids the $20, and charges it to my friend, and reruns another credit card slip for $55, again WTF... so we just ask her to void ALL of it out, and we had to have other people we were taking out pay cash, lame. dont think ill ever go back, sorry. for some type of redemption we went across the street for some yogurt. as we were walking back to the car, we saw an employee behind the bar top blowing his nose! mmm... yum. sorry cant hide behind all the glass that surrounds the restaurant.

I'm allegeric to seafood but I still manage to go and eat sushi from time to time. Their sushi is yummmyyyy! I give thumbs up for their great service and food! Prices are reasonable to spend, because it's a nice hip place to have a couple of drinks and some sushi. Gladly, i didn't break out from the sushi! WHOO-HOO! Lastly, you have to try their chicken teriyaki! I must say it was really good. The sushi chef was cool! They acknowledge you, and serve well. I will def come back to this restaurant. This place is a must try!!!!! This place is good for dates or hang outs. Not your typical regular cheap looking sushiland. Its a little up there! :)

Went to the movie theater at The Landing at stumbled upon this place - it happened to be their first night or soft opening night. It is always fun trying new places, but even moreso when it is the restaurant's first night! The food here is superb! The concept is like Blue C Sushi but a little more classy. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is friendly! Some of the best gyoza, (Certain) sushi rolls, chicken sticks in the area! I will be back! Why not five stars then? The service was not so great - but I attribute that to opening night jitters! Good times here!!!

When it comes to sushi, I'm quite picky and surprisingly this place isn't so bad. The prices are a tad bit much but the sushi is delicious. Choices are mediocre though the 2 times I've been there, I only grab the same few things anyway. I've only been here for lunch so its normally quiet, not sure how it is for dinner. Can't say anything for skewers because they are currently not serving them? What's up with that. Not a fave but still worth it if you want sushi and you're in the area.

this place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately this place is a true bust. The ambiance and atmosphere is really nice updated. The sushi conveyor belt seemed packed with plenty of food. Now for the unfortunate bad news. The service was very bad and very slow. When we got to the restaurant it took us 10 mins for the waitress to seat us another 10 min. for our water and 20 min. to place our order. Just to be fair it was at 8 PM and we were the only people in the restaurant. So there isn't any excuse why it took so long for us to order our food. This was the first Japanese restaurant that I've been to that actually charged for their green tea. I me pays $2.50 for green tea. Our appetizers took forever, and once we got them they were cold and a very salty. Then came our sushi, all three of our roles fell apart and were very over seasoned. the bottom line is that the service really bad and the food is very overpriced and unprepared. This restaurant has a lot of potential and could be very successful. But unfortunately it's not, I don't see how this place survives, maybe the crowd from the movie theater helps. anyway I will never go back again.

I was delighted to see that the Landing had added sushi to its restaurant offerings. The restaurants at the Landing make dinner and a movie very easy. It is too bad that this restaurant doesn't do a better job. It is a conveyor belt place, which can be fun and fast. The problem is that the sushi has a strange, almost bleachy, after taste making me wonder about its freshness. Also, the sushi offerings are all very standard. There is no creativity exhibited by the chefs as far as I can tell.

When one thinks of sushi, one may have visions of beautiful, fresh salmon or rolls with thinly julianned veggies and diced tuna...not a never-ending conveyor belt of cream cheese based tempura rolls. I will say that I had a roll with a piece of fried fish on the top which was tastey...but the combination of creamy sauce, some mysterious brown drizzle and lumps of melted cream cheese and raw fish inside, well, this was too, um, shall we say...Rentonized. And a little PS: it was a struggle to not be thirsty as the servers were engaged in some awesome conversations with one another. I can't imagine returning here because of both the non-sushi and the bad service. You're better off making PB+J before a movie than feeling gross and filmy for the next few hours.

I really want to like this place. I was super excited to see a rotating sushi restaurant in Renton! I have been here about 5 times. My review is based mostly on the service. Also sushi selection is not so great compared to other rotating sushi restaurants - neither is the quality. I prefer Blue C or iSushi (in Issaquah). Every time I have been here - I have been seated quickly, but only asked once what I would like to drink. Every other time I have had to flag down a waitress for beverages. There have been less than 10 customers in the entire restaurant on all my visits. The waitresses usually just walk right by with nothing in their hand but a cell phone. They do not come by the table asking us if we would like to order anything off the menu - this place is weird. I felt like I was inconveniencing them and then giving them too much $ for what I got at the end. I won't be back.

I didn't explain the setting on my first review. The setting is nice and casual, great for a group of 6 and anymore you would have to sit at different tables. I came back quite a bit after my first visit. I am still giving this an "A-OK" since nothing has changed and my appetite for sushi has grown. This time around I went with a good friend from out-of-town and she was craving sushi. We ordered the Spider Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Mariner roll and there was one other dish but can't recall, that was over a month ago. =( The way they prepared the sushi was impressive since my first time visit. It's still an average place for sushi but it the price is still not making me want to go back as often as I would like to since the location is near me and don't have to travel all the way to Bellevue or Seattle for sushi. I would have to say that they made an impressive improvement. I think if I don't mind the price I would become a fan. I understand the pricing though because it's in a new develop strip mall type location and they have to price it out to stay in business which is understandable. I'll admit if I'm craving sushi to a point where I can't stand it anymore and have to have it and in the area I will stop by to satisfy my craving. The hostess and waitesses are great people and down to earth. They like to interact with their customers, that's if they're not slammed. I still don't get the conveyour belt thing at sushi restaurants/bars. Can someone extplain this to me? But that's the least of my worries.

Went with the gf after shopping at the GI Joe's closing sale (which was very disappointing, but that's neither here or there). We were the first customers of the evening at 5pm. Staff was very friendly and because they were slow, we were well serviced by three of the staff. The place is clean, classy and comfortable. The turntable "Kaiten" style sushi was excellent, best in Seattle area. Better than Sushiland, Blue C & O Sushi. Prices are $1.50 to $5.50 in one dollar increments. The rolls were cut slightly thicker than other places, so that was nice. The fish was fresh, good quality and generously cut too. Aside from the kaiten, you can also order off the izakaya menu, which was priced reasonably as well. Order: 3 x pink plate $1.50 = $4.50 3 x yellow plate $2.50 = $7.50 4 x blue plate $3.50 = $14.00 1 x Hamachi handroll $4.50 1 x Ahi poke Hawaiian style $5.00 1 x Fish tempura $7.00 1 beverage $1.50 Total with tax: $48.40. Might seem pricey, but it was because we really overstuffed ourselves, everything was so good! I'd imagine that the average couple would probably spend closer to $30-$35 for two. Must try are: spicy tuna roll, dynamite roll, Ahi (maguro), handrolls There is also a full service bar with draughts, imports and sake. We'll definitely be back. This place will get popular once the word gets out.

For a rotating sushi establishment - it is definitely higher end than other places. Most of the rotating sushi has been rotating for quite some time... but you can order off the menu if you'd like something fresh. You get what you paid for.. quick service and the decor is appealing. I would recommend for a lunch.

my friend and I came here for happy hour on a Friday night to enjoy some drinks and maybe grab a couple small plates off the belt to enjoy. The bar was sort of full so we were seated at a table by the bar. After being given menus we sat and waited for nearly ten mins and nobody came back to us. So I stood up and walked to the front desk to ask if we were going to have a server. They completely forgot about us. Nice....their happy hour menu is really nice and extensive, the drinks are reasonably priced and the calamari was some of the best I've ever had. The kirin beer was really good, my friend's long island tasted like juice with almost no liquor. We also had the flavored sake which was also really good. What I can't get over however is the fact that they had four servers standing around cleaning a little bit here and there but hardly tending to any customers. Manager staff needs to get a hold on this. It would be a pretty big hit otherwise.

Yikes, soggy noodles, sub par sushi, horrible adult contemporary music, small donburi bowls, clueless wait staff, and horrific value. Thanks 'the landing,' I'd rather eat turf at Golf Galaxy.

Updated review 8.17.09: When Izakaya first opened I reviewed it with five stars, but now that they have changed their kitchen menu with a increased prices four times higher! I'm not so excited about it anymore. Also, a lot of the original waiting staff is gone. The new staff are complete airheads. It took 15 minutes for her to bring us our 10oz $5.00 beers. It took 40 minutes for our 4 skewers to arrive. We had to ask the bus boy guy for water and to get our waitress so we could order a few items from the kitchen. The conveyer belt items are the same price and quality as before, lots of imitation crab. I hate imitation crab and would rather pay for real crab and I'd like to see more rolls that just didn't have crab in them at all. Also, what's with $16.50 for chicken teriyaki?!?! It is a larger portion but it use to be $5.00. They have Happy Hour.

Wow, I had no idea a restaurant could survive in the present economy with poor food and service. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. The sushi was not even close to being fresh. There was definitely some congealing happening. I was seriously afraid I was going to get sick from this food after. I ordered an ice tea and when it was empty, asked the server for another. She asked what it was (it had a lemon on the side) and I said ice tea. I get the same glass back, same lemon on the side and it's coke. Then I had to track down the server to ask for what I originally asked for. I will not be back anytime soon.

I refuse to come to this place anymore. What a disappointment since its a nice location. The hours suck, food is very much inconsistant and there seems to be a huge turnover with the staff. I have had awful service here and could tolerate it since Izakaya used to be a cheap eat. They took my faves off the menu, started using imitation crab and more then doubled their prices. No thanks! I heard that their deep fryer leaked into the salon next door and my sisters hair stylist couldn't use her chair for weeks while it was being repaired. That really grossed me out. This place has too many problems to be considered decent. I wish that another sushi establishment would take over this disaster!

Been here for the second time, ingredients are fresh, explains why it cost a bit more than other conveyer belt sushi. Had salmon bento and sushi for lunch. The bento is bigger than other restaurants and the salmon was cooked to melt in your mouth. Will be back for sure, will try the happy hour drinks and the grilled entrees next. Outdoor seating as well.

It was ok. My boyfriend and I went yesterday. There was maybe 13 people in the whole place. The choices on the belt were slim. I know it was slow ,but there were almost more dessert choices than sushi. What I had was pretty good, but the rolls weren't very tight. They tended to fall apart when we picked them up. Also I asked the server if they were going to put Philadelphia Rolls on the belt and she said yes. Then she brought me my own plate with eight pieces. I thought it was cool, but when she brought me the bill she had charged me $8.00 for the plate. I was kinda mad. Those rolls weren't that good. Not to mention she wasn't paying attention to me. I wasn't about to freak out for $3.00. And we had a movie to see, so we payed and decided we probably wouldn't be back very soon.

Very chill place, nice waiters and waitresses. I used to go here all the time for their lunch bento, until they changed up the whole plate and put in disgusting salad, less meat and tempura. Big disappointed and their other menu is pretty ew and no teriyaki boo. The sushi however, was pretty damn good, but a bit pricey and the mixed fruits was way too dry.

We have eaten here many times, because it has a decent priced happy hour and the food is admittedly tasty. However, the always rotating staff seem to always be very young, very lazy, and very unaware of what good customer service means. We walked in this evening and three other couples walked in behind us. There were 6 girls wandering around, and all of them kept glancing over at the crowd forming at the front, and then just turned their backs. This continued for over 5 minutes until I walked over and asked if we could be seated. After being seated, we sat for 10 minutes until I again had to walk around to find someone "working" and ask if we could at least have our drink order taken. Our food came out without any of the accompanying sauces, we waited 15 minutes for those after asking for them and then even longer for water. The only time they were attentive was when they were getting near closing time and trying to rush us out. There were only about 4 tables filled in the restaurant, and no one could get any of the servers to even glance our way. Very frustrating because it could be a successful restaurant - the sushi is great, happy hour menu is large, decor is modern and trendy, but we won't be going back. The music also is horrible - hip hop/rap/r&b...blasting so loud that you can't hear the person across the table. It has been this way on most of our visits. We've been here about 20 times over the last several months, but unfortunately, tonight was the last straw and we can't handle the poor service again.

Izakaya is a "conveyor-belt" sushi restaurant, with an accompanying bar. There are a number of single seats and 3 booths plus a table next to the sushi conveyor. It's a newer restaurant, and looks clean inside and out. We really like it here, but are selective in what we choose: Off the menu: The nabeyaki udon rocks. We have a 4.5 yr old who is a picky eater, and he absolutely adors this dish. The broth is excellent and noodles cooked just right. Egg, kamoboko, one tempura shrimp. Five stars, and consistently so. Salmon sashimi (5 pieces) is another good choice off the menu. Izakaya's salmon is consistently good (ie fatty stripes). Shrimp tempura was good - it was served hot - 3 shrimp plus veggies. I did ask for some ground daikon and they brought it but it took longer than expected. The tempura sauce has some flavor so the daikon is not as badly needed as other places I've had it. Off the belt: The rolls we've tried are great. Each dish is covered but with a clear cover. My fav is Mariner's Roll - spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, avocado and salmon roe. My wife likes their Rainbow roll, Lion's roll and others. Fresh ingredients are key here, and the good quality is consistent. I like their gyoza (3 fried dumplings) but wish they included a soy/vinegar sauce with it. Creme brulee is also good but make sure you choose one that was freshly made. Edamame is okay, and we've had their desserts (overflowing fresh fruit and carrot cake) which were okay too. What NOT to get: Any kind of beverage ordered is $3 - so skip the tea and stick with water (hot or cold). Donburi (off the menu) was poor, more like chicken tempura over rice, but they took it back without complaint. We've spent anywhere from $30 to $65 for the three of us, before tip. The place is clean and the service is good, although sometimes the kitchen takes time to deliver off-the-menu dishes. We're regulars now, and the waitresses/waiters know us, which adds a nice touch. It can take some time for orders off the menu to arrive, but with the conveyor belt it's not as urgent. All in all, we're pleased to have found a new addition to our restaurant repertoire. Only bad thing is that we have to take 405 to get there.

I've eaten here at least 8-10 times and I think it is progressively getting worse. Their dinner belt is supposed to start at 5:00. I got there at 4:50 and chose to wait 10 min. for it. It didn't start until 5:15. I had my six month old with me and after 25 minutes she became very impatient, so I got an order to go instead ( if you are supposed to start at 5:00, why 5:15?) The ramen noodle dish I ordered to go was very disappointing-- could have done better myself for a much cheaper price. I think I am done with this place for good. A frustrating event for me tonight when I just wanted to grab a quick bite with an infant in tow (other than going through a drive thru).

If a sushi place has a conveyor belt--it should be a required law that they serve affordable sushi on that darn belt. This place does the complete opposite. They charge a pretty penny for simple dishes that you can get $1-2 cheaper elsewhere. Sure, the sashimi are fresh and the rolls may be a wee bit bigger. But I refuse. Refuse. To return to a place that can charge $2.50 for potstickers, $2.50 for orange wedges and $3.50 for California rolls...that is just ridiculous! Ordering off the menu would give you prices you might find at a Japanese restaurant in Belltown. Not Renton. $9.50 for udon noodle? No thank you.

Worst teriyaki I've ever had. Got dinner take-out on the way home. The service and atmosphere were fine, but I was shocked at the $13 price. I thought that maybe it came with a bunch of stuff so I shrugged to myself and paid when I placed my order for chicken teriyaki. I could have walked away from the deal but I thought I'd give them a shot. Then I got it home. Disclaimer: I like charbroiled teriyaki. Don't know if that's more or less authentic, but that's how I prefer it. Izakaya is either baked or steamed or another cooking method that's pretty bland. To top it off, the meat was overcooked by a wide margin. Even the dark meat was dry and tough. The miso: fine. Salad: fine. Teriyaki: terrible. I couldn't finish it but I didn't starve. I know they're more known for sushi and kaiten and I have been meaning to try theirs sometime, but after my dinner experience with cooked food, plus all the reviews rating their sushi as meh or below, I will not go back.

There is something to be said of conveyor belt sushi that simply lends itself to be relevant to eating on the cheap, but not even the quality of the sushi here was not so far off from that of the Bellevue or Redmond branch of Marinepolis Sushi Land that it would make me feel that it was worth the extra dollar a dish. Although it lends itself to the same characteristics of an upper end Japanese restaurant, that is definitely not the case. If it were not for our discount, eating at Izakaya would not be worth the time. The service there is impeccable, but it feels as if the majority of the food is more decorated to look delicious rather than actually being delicious. At times, you can definitely tell that the kitchen is skimping because there are often times when you would see salmon nigiri where it is sliced so thin that the majority of your piece would simply be rice. And simply do not order any type of mixed drink here because their bar is simply not stocked properly to make a decent drink. Worth stopping by here once, but probably not one of the places worth repeating. The best part of our experience there was probably messing with the little brats at the table behind us who kept snatching up all the plates of sashimi that we were trying to get our hands on.

For this price, you're better off heading up the hill to Sushi Cafe on 4th. The decor was spotless and inviting, I was really excited to eat here. However, once we started looking closer things got a little... meh. We were sat at the conveyor, despite there only being two or three other couples in the entire place. We had about 30 seconds to look over the menu before the waitress came over to inform us that yes, they were open for another hour but the kitchen was closing in fifteen minutes. I ordered a panko-breaded pork dish, (can't remember what it was called.) that tasted exactly like the extremely average chicken katsu you can get at any run-of-the-mill teriyaki place. How they managed to get pork to taste like chicken, I'm not sure I want to know. The meat was a little tough, but tasty. Still, for the price and presentation, I had expected more. I also had a glass of their lychee sake. So yummy! I will go back, but only for that drink. My boyfriend had the tempura soup and was extremely unimpressed with it. We also grabbed a bowl of edamame off the conveyor, it was cold and unseasoned, very disappointing. As we sat with our food, with nothing to look at but the conveyor, we started inspecting the rolls that were passing by us - the salmon had this terrible orange/brown color that I've never seen before! It was on something called the Lion-King roll, which by it's description I thought I wanted to try - but once I got a look at the roll I knew there was no way I was going to touch it. It looked more like jerky than fish! Blech! At least the tuna was of a good color, if I hadn't first seen the salmon, I might have been convinced to try something with tuna on it. The wait staff was very polite and attentive, borderline annoyingly so - but I can't fault them that when there were so few people there. Overall, go to Izakaya for the drinks and atmosphere. If your money is burning a hole in your pocket, try the hot food, (it's average but overpriced) and try the sushi at your own risk.

I joined Yelp just because my experiences (yes plural) have been terrible at this place. I originally had high hopes this would be a good place to go and the first time it was, but since their opening service has gone downhill. Not sure what drives this place to treat their guests so negatively. Last visit, and it will be the last, our waitress took our order and only brought one out of three items. Ten minutes later she left the restaurant. The replacement was better, but she blamed us for not ordering what we ordered. Nice decor, but let's face it, the service is sub par and the food is not far behind. I would rather go to Genki Sushi.

Okay Izakaya let's get things straight I LOVES me some sushi and the one thing I love more than sushi is a good ol' sushi train but seriously this place will not get another dime of my money. Not one. I have given them 3 chances just to be completely fair before I wrote a review and they have missed 3 outta 3. First time: sushi train had all of 5 dishes on it and 2 customers.... Ehhh. Never trust a desolate post lunch sushi train unless you like the taste of Pepto. we decided to sit at a booth and order a selection. Cold rice, no vinegar, the fish was meh. I tried both sashimi and what I lovingly refer to as Sorority sushi ( maki like spicy tuna and such). Nothing had any real flavor. Second: Sat at counter for sushi train bar...Sweet Jeebus! Took forever for a drink order because there were 3 people staffing the front and only 2 waiting ona packed restaurant. Apparently the girl assigned to us also had to wait on the booths all the way across the room. sushi train was VERY limited. Only infinite variations of California rolls and anything with "crab" and mayo. I don't care that you throw some stuff on top it's still a California roll. We decide to order some miso soup and yakitori special of pork belly, garlic, chicken and scallops to supplement the meager pickins. It took over a half hour to get this. It got to the point where we were looking around for someone to cancel our order and being ignored. The customers on either side of us wanted to leave and were all talking about just leaving money on the counter and hoping it was enough. At this point someone comes out of the back and starts checking out customers. Right then our yakitori comes. Or should I say half of it. Pork Belly: awesome. Chicken Ehh. Wait another 20 minutes....feel awkward....garlic and other thing comes. Dear Zeus that garlic was horrible. Burnt outside raw green starting the grow a shoot inside. Worst thing I've put in my mouth. Finally we have gotten everything we ordered. Our drinks haven't been freshened ummm ever. We NEED to go. At this point another 10 minutes until some surly guy comes out of nowhere and says he needs our seats. He then proceeds to act as though we've been camping the entire time instead of waiting. 3rd Time: long story short. Lunch. surly staff. No service. Limited bordering on insulting sushi train selection. Can't get anyone to come over so we can order something better from the menu. Expensive. Never again.

Not worth the price for the sushi quality. Service is very slow if u hav to order drinks or extra something on the menu. Not to mention the waitress could not remember what we have ordered. This place is new and they have decorated it nicely but i would not come back again.

I thought with the name this was a Japanese owned restaurant but it's not. The rice used for the conveyor belt sushi was the worst i ever had. It was all mushy and too packed together. I ordered the niku donburi off the menu and that wasn't bad. I doubt I will ever go back here.

I live in the area and have given this place 3 tries, each time being disappointed. Edamame was cold, sushi fell apart easily, imitation crab not advertised as such, horrible service. There really hasn't been anything I have liked about this place.

The decor and environment here is SUPER cute but...that's not what i'm going to talk about haha. :-) SUSHI? do-able for a conveyer belt place. I'd eat here if i was in the area and was craving sushi. this is definately not the "best" conveyer belt place i've had sushi but hey..its edible :-). The last time i was here i was a bit ticked off because i asked the waitress to leave me a menu so i could order a drink and she left me the menu. she just never came back to ask me what i wanted and everytime she walked by and i tried to get her attention she looked straight ahead and didn't see me waving my hands in the air like a mad woman. I guess i'd understand if she didn't see/hear me if i were all soft spoken and super quiet but jeez, i'm one bossy lady and i can get pretty loud if need be. I suppose i could have ordered from another waitress but at this point, after trying to get her attention a few times, i got pissed off and lost my appetite for alcohol. so....service here isn't the greatest and sushi's ooookay.... would you ever hear me say "oh oh oh!!! i want to eat at Izakaya!!!!!! we HAVE to eat at IZAKAYA!!!" no. those words will never come out of my mouth.

I was a huge fan when this place first opened. Even though they just opened and the staff was still learning, they were very attentive. Now they have changed the staff and the kitchen. Not only have the prices increased, but the quality has gone down. They used to put out all the main rolls and they were fresh and tasty. They also used to put out a menu explaining what was in a roll. That is gone and you have to order from the wait staff if you want anything other then cali roll or straight raw fish. I have been to other kaitan sushi joints since first going here and found the sushi chef's are a lot more active elsewhere. I hope they get back to the core values of when they first opened and then I will visit more often.

Good location. So so quality. Sushiland definitely has better and cheaper sushi than this place.

I'm always looking for a decent sushi restaurant close to my home in Renton. One word to describe Izakay "blah", there was no flavor to the sushi. It all just tasted off. Sushi rice is cooked with vinegar so it should have some flavor/sweetness to it. This just tasted like undercooked rice (it was also very hard) The maguro seemed like it was immatation tuna. On a positive note: My boyfriend had the crab cakes which he said was really good and our server David was good. All in all I think I'll drive the extra 5 minutes and go to Blue C or if I'm feeling really spendy Wasabi Bistro.

Very, very disappointed. One of my best friends told me this place wasn't worth going to but I still wanted to try it because my family and I love sushi and it is just down the hill from our house. I usually don't post reviews or anything like that but the experience was so bad that I couldn't help myself. The service was disappointing to say the least and I'm usually very easy to please and a very forgiving person. I understand that they just opened and maybe still trying to figure out a few kinks in the system, but it was so bad I felt offended and left pissed off. First of all, my wife, two small kids and I were seated in a booth where the seats were so high that my feet dangled, this was very uncomfortable even for me at 5'11. After 10 minutes, still no waiter or waitress, no water, not enough chopsticks, napkins, dishes for soy sauce/wasabi. We had to flag down a young man who I wish was our waiter because he was the only person in the whole restaurant that seemed to know what serving a customer was all about. We never had a dedicated wait person the entire evening, we were flagging down whomever we could to get what we needed. Nobody came to refill our tea and water the entire evening. We tried to order some sushi from the guy standing a foot away from us behind the conveyor belt and he said he "couldn't do it" WHAT? He told us to ask our waiter, what waiter? We didn't have one! After flagging down a person who might be our waiter, we ordered 5 things from him and we only got ONE of the items and they still tried to charge us for the other items that we never got, which we repeatedly asked for many times. To top it all off, the hostess "shushed" my 3 year old son, probably not a good idea on her part. Why would you do something like that when they blast loud music and other customers are yelling at the bar while you've got the NBA playoffs on the plasma?? Was his howling really that distracting? He's just a kid and it's not really what I'd call a quiet dining establishment. Also, I found it annoying that they have the pre-calculated tips on the receipts..You should be ashamed of yourself Izakaya Sushi!! Real, hard working people who live in Renton shouldn't waste their money or time in your wanna be trendy restaurant.

my son wanted to eat some conveyor sushi, but we wanted to try somewhere else besides genki, so we ended up here. izakaya is the fourth place in the landing shopping district in renton where we have eaten at. we come to the landing quite a bit to eat, but we always end up at the same places, namely, the rock, red robin and five guys burgers because those are our favorite places to eat there. this day, we tried this place. izakaya is a pretty large conveyor place and presents a very trendy atmosphere. the sushi is okay. my wife ordered a bento box, which was also okay, but not great. the chicken teriyaki had a weird tint to it, i don't know if it was the lighting or what, but it looked weird and wasn't charbroiled. the food is pretty average, but the price is not, i ended up paying $90 with tip for lunch for 2 adults and 1 child. it's overpriced for middle of the road quality, but i guess you have to make rent and pay workers somehow. if you want good bento, go to miyabi at southcenter, if you want cheaper conveyor sushi, go to genki, if you want to pay more for less, come here.

Summary - Good food, bad service. Food: One notch above Sushi Land. A bit more fresh and delicious than Sushi Land, but pricier. Price Range: $1.50 - $5.50 for items on the belt Service: Terrible * Walking in, no one helped us or acknowledged our presence. We waited in the foyer for 10 minutes before anyone came up to us to even ask us "how many." * I asked for spicy mayo and a staff member (maybe the owner) asked "for what?" and when we said for the California rolls, he gave the most sour face as if it was unheard of. I would understand if this was an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant but it wasn't, so it shouldn't have been a big deal. * My party ordered something that wasn't on the belt and the item was incorrectly (on purpose or not) placed on the most expensive plate. When we mentioned it, the same guy's face turns sour and turns his back to us to huff and puff. * We tried to get 2 people's attention to get the bill and they walked right past us. We finally signal to a waiter to count and he says OK, but he leaves and doesn't come back after passing us a few times. We decided to get up to go to the front to force someone to count our plates. Kinda weird - There were only 2 soy sauce dishes available at the table and there were 4 of us and when we asked for more, the waitress brings us 15-20 stacked sauce dishes. This place has potential for great things, it's a really beautiful restaurant with an ambiance for the nightlife, but its service is sorely lacking. I'll be sticking to good ole Sushi Land for now!

The Sushi is average, notice one of the chef's talking on thier cell phone while making the sushi with the plastics gloves that they were wearing to prepare the sushi and did not change his gloves! Hostess did not communicate well, only one waiter on staff. VERY POOR customer service!

Went into Izakaya today with my son (age 22) he and I had an awesome late afternoon lunch. Sat at the high kaiten bar, it was very social, loved chatting with the people on the other side. I noticed booths for 6 too, think we'll bring the rest of the family for a bigger dinner. Fish was fresh, then I realized they have a grill at the main bar.... Korean barbeque. The owner saw I was curious and brought me a sampling of a couple meats. AMAZING FLAVOR!!! I hear they are going to put in outdoor seating for the warmer weather, I can't wait! Interior is very cool.... classy, trendy and clean! I will be going back. Excellent service too.

When Izakaya opened, my husband and I were ecstatic that something new had opened and we had another choice for dinner. Initially, we thought the food was good, worth a dinner trip every once in a while. However, service was notably slow. Having frequented Izakaya at least 6 times now, I've decided that it's no longer worth the 2 minute drive. The menu is ever changing and the service has not improved. The first time we ordered the Yakotori, the chef tended to the skewers and they were tasty. The last time we ordered the Yakitori, the skewers were placed on the grill and no one tended to them. They didn't tast the same either. I think what turned me off the most is the lack of service and the fact that the a la carte menu has tripled in price from their initial days. I've had better conveyor belt selection and absolutely much better service elsewhere.
