Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Went for lunch date with co-worker. I tried something new, the Town Burger- it was way too big and the grilled onions/mushrooms and cheese was a little too slimy and slide outta my burger :S Service was great. It was quiet in there for a Friday. The TV was appropriately on the news events of the day (relevant and non-policitical). They don't have AC so maybe that was a factor. As always, a great experience, good prices, good service, we love this place!!

Small hole in the wall, but such a solid burger place! Their pricing is extremely fair, and they have a bunch of different types of burgers. Good quick service! Their burgers are so good! I've been here a number of times and their burgers never disappoint. My favorite is their Hawaiian burger!!! Their fries are not impress, pretty basic. But they offer other types of side (fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, etc). They also have really good milkshakes!!!!! I would recommend this place to any burger lovers!!!

Nothing like a good burger. I've seen this place for years and only recently found the courage to try it and I have to say I was impressed. I ordered the BBQ Burger and I enjoyed it, especially the House sauce. The owners are friendly and the atmosphere is pretty quiet and clean. Reasonably priced and a tasty burger that I wouldn't mind enjoying from time to time.

  • Vince N.

This is a super clean burger. Everyone raves about it but I think it is your average good burger. It is a ma and pa so I won't knock it to much. The burger is a bit dry and it cast a shadow over the taste and flavor of the actual burger. The fries leave a bit to be desired. Ill try this place again and see how it taste.

  • Jazmine A.

California burger was awesome! The sauce was great! We also split the chicken wrap which was nice and light and some fries which were salty and crispy and yummy!

  • Amanda S.

Sometimes you just need a greasy burger and salty crunchy fries! My husband and I both worked late tonight and there was tons of traffic everywhere. We decided to stay where we were and get some dinner at Burger Town. The decor is novel and light and the tables yell "burger joint". The customer service is great. Very kind and friendly staff. I had the blue cheese burger with a veggie patty. The burger patty was great. Very flavorful and juicy. The bun was delicious and I loved the blue cheese spread inside. We also ordered fried shrimp and curly fries. The shrimp were Panko crusted and cooked perfectly. The curly fries were seasoned well and has a great crunch. I give 4 stars inside of 5, bc the seating/bus your table yourself thing is confusing. I guess it's kind of like Panera on that you order, pay, your food is brought out to you and you bus it yourself. Will be back soon.

Best. Burger. Ever. The things that make a burger perfect are all found at Burger Town.. Crispy lettuce - Grilled onions - Saucy but not greasy - Bun to burger ratio - and PERFECT!! Slightly messy - There's not too much bun! That's hard to find at a burger joint. I will drive an hour out of my way to hit up Burger Town. "Won't you take me to..Burgertown!"

From now on, I'll keep driving by... After seeing Burger Town for years in Renton, I finally stopped for a late lunch. Ordered the bacon burger and waited for it to be prepared. After about 5 minutes, I was served what turned out to be a really mediocre burger. I expected a hot and juicy freshly prepared burger patty, since it seem like it was made to order. What I got was a dry over cooked patty that lacked much flavor. The most dominate feature of the burger was the lettuce - there was lots of it. The bacon was present but could not taste it much. Oh well, I had hopes for this place, but will not likely go back.

  • Nicolette D.

Completely honest, when I walked in, I was a bit worried. It was completely empty and the guy was laying his head down on the counter. But once I took a bite, I understood the great ratings! Very mom and pop vibe, the burgers were great and the fries hit the spot.

  • Jill L.

Really wonderful, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a great menu. Good prices too. If you're in the mood for a veggie burger, burger or wrap, BT is a perfect choice!

I wanted to try a new place for national burger day this year so I gave Burger Town in Renton a try. I was not disappointed. I got a bacon cheeseburger with curly fries to go. The burger was a very nice size. I would say 1/3 pound. Very tasty, juicy, and obviously hot off the grill. The curly fries were also very fresh and equally delicious. It's a small two person operation and even with the rush they had at the time they managed to get me out the door pretty quickly. I will be back to try one of their specialty burgers for sure! Quality local service.

  • John G.

Fresh, hot, top-grade ingredients, and a really good toasted bun make this burger a cut above the rest. Onion rings equally wonderful. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Can't wait to come back for the fish and chips!

  • Lemme K.

This was a pretty decent place for burgers. We had the mushroom and the california burger. I like mushroom burger more because it was mire flavorful. The California was a little bland and dry, but still decent. The curly fries was hot and freshly made, but a little on the crunchier side. Price was decent. I would come back for sure.

Great burgers! I had a bacon cheeseburger here -- it is large, served on a bun that has a sort of french bread texture and taste. There is a sauce, lots of lettuce, tomato, dill pickle (garlic, spicy), red onion. The bacon is thick, crispy and there is a lot of it -- and no pepper on the crust. The hamburger patty is 1/3 pound -- and not very juicy, but tastes like grilled over an open fire. I also had the onion rings -- it was a large serving, perfectly cooked, real onion and the onion didn't slip out when you took a bite, the way it does in some places. The breading was very flavorful. I also tried the curly fries -- the portion is huge and they have a nice flavor - you can taste the potato, but it's also crispy fried deliciousness. I had a chocolate shake -- it was a medium/large serving size -- nice flavor, good consistency -- you can drink it with a straw, but not runny. The restaurant (including restrooms) was very clean. The server was nice, not chatty and offered additional tartar sauce (or my choice) for the rings with no extra charge. There is a parking lot.

Great burgers, shakes & service! Everything is made fresh & worth the short wait. It is a bit pricey ($28 for two burgers, fries & shakes), otherwise we would definitely be here more often.

  • Kelsi K.

Best burgers in town! Looks are deceiving - you wouldn't expect this hole in the wall place to be so amazing but it is! We had to try it after reading all the Yelp reviews and we've been coming here for over a year now. SO worth it! My husband would like to think of himself as a burger connoisseur and Burger Town is at the top of his list.

  • Indy C.

Awesome.... fresh, hand formed patty burgers with excellent buns. The onion rings are perfectly done (no hot onions slapping your chin)... the milkshakes are made with real ice cream and hand-blended! I highly recommend this place for a good burger. Ask for extra house sauce. It's really good.

    (5)
  • Pam U.

It's exactly, what you would expect walking in. BURGERS. I wish I had pictures of the burgers my hubs and I had but it was good. The burgers were simple and not too frilly. I like my burger to shine with the simplicity of salt and pepper and not over doing it with the toppings. I ordered the onion burger, it was delicious and messy. Its how a burger should be. Their strawberry milkshake was yummy, filled with ice cream and strawberry. We ordered take out, since we live down the street it was pretty busy for lunch time. Staff was nice and friendly, fries were awesome!

  • Robert P.

Really good burgers. I am a big fan of their onion rings. It's a small place and it can get crowded during the lunch rush so go early.

  • Anu E.

This place has the most amazing burgers and fries I've ever had!! So fresh and tasty and great service!! I try to come here at least once a week and I still can't get enough

  • Samantha L.

I loved this place. It was clean, the burgers were good, the price was right and the guy that took our order was very nice. He was helpful and honest, which I appreciated. The onion rings were great, but I really wish that for an order that was ~$2-3 that you would get more than 4 onion rings... I mean, how much does an onion cost? 30cents? Oh well, I know better for next time. Regardless, get the California Burger. It was delightful. And yes, this place is huge compared to what the storefront leads you to believe.

  • Son N.

I drive by this place daily so I decided to take my wife there for lunch. Pricing is decent for two and the food exceed my initial expectations and the people there were nice. The French fries were fresh and really good, I had a chicken sandwich which was really tasty and not dry. I'll come back here before hitting the drive thru to satisfy my cravings for junk food.

  • Blaine S.

Nice people and good food! You get your moneys worth, I got the bacon cheeseburger and there was no shortage of topping and their sauce was really good. They also did curly fries right!! I chose to come here over five guys and ill do the same next time too!! If you want burgers in renton come here!

  • Renate B.

I love this place. They have the best fish and chips: fresh, tasty and plenty. The hamburgers are good, too, maybe a little too big. Their smoothies are great, too. Service is excellent, the place is clean and inviting. I keep going back there.

Glad I tried this place, the burgers were tasty and high quality ingredients. the onion rings were tasty as well. He even offered side sauce, the ranch was creamy and good. Quick and friendly service, with a very clean dining area.

Was in town on business and I called up a buddy and he suggested this place. It was a decent burger but of the frozen pre formed variety. The bun was a step above and the toppins were fresh. I forgot to order cheese so that left the meat without its good buddy. Thankfully it was well seasoned. I liked the crinkle cut fries. Honestly, i would put this burger in the class of Carls Six Dollar burger line.

We were going to get take-out for dinner last night. My husband wanted Kidd Valley. When I was looking for the closest location, I stumbled across Burger Town. I persuaded him to try Burger Town instead. I'm glad I did, because it was a lot better than any Kidd Valley I ever consumed! My kids were disappointed that Burger Town was out of Corn dogs. But they didn't complain about the grilled cheese sandwiches they ate instead. They also liked the crinkle-cut French fries. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger & a caramel shake. Both of them were delicious. My husband had the BBQ burger. He said that he wished they had put more BBQ sauce on it, but other than that it was great. The best thing about the meal was the onion rings! They were the best I've ever had. My husband & I shared an order. If we eat there again we'll order two onion rings. I want an order all to myself next time!

I ordered the California burger with no bun. It was excellent. The patty was juicy and cooked just right. Hey gave me some fry sauce and it was yummy. The cheese sticks were fried perfectly.

My family and I moved back to Renton after growing up here. We have spent quite a bit of time going to The Landing and became very disappointed with chain restaurants. We came to Burger Town and man were we happy. Everything was perfect! Hey down here and give this a try! Support Downtown Renton

It's pretty spacious in there, but nothing fancy. I skimmed reviews and saw a couple that mentioned their California burger so I ordered that and my BF ordered their 787 Jumbo burger. I also ordered onion rings and their strawberry milkshake. We ordered to go, so when I got home, I was pleased to see how neatly wrapped each burger was in their parchment like paper. It wasn't greasy , usually when I order burgers that come wrapped in these it's always greasy and I hate it when my hands get messy with that. Our burgers were neatly made. My BF liked his, mine I felt like the patty was a tiny bit dry. Perhaps if they added a little more of their house sauce may have made it better? I just added some ketchup and that worked for me. But, with the extra sauce, it got messy. Overall it was very filling and good! Just the right amount of ingredients. I absolutely loved their onion rings. The breading stuck to the onion! Usually when I get onion rings and take a bite, there's usually the slimy onion that follows and trails out of its breading LOL! But not theirs, I was soo ecstatic about this! And it tastes good too! My BF's burger came with crinkle cut fries that were delicious and nicely fried too! It wasn't greasy or overly salty! Perfect! As for their strawberry milkshake, it was okay. It tastes like Nesquik's strawberry syrup/powder, I'd probably pass that up next time I go. If you're craving a charbroiled burger and in the downtown Renton area, I would definitely recommend this place!

  • Bill G.

3.5 stars. As Jules would say, this is a tasty burger. HOWEVAH, the patties are only 1/3 lb (pre-cooked), so you're not talking about a giant burger here. You have the option to get a double patty and you probably should if you are hungry. They charge wayyyyy too much for onion rings to go along with your burger. The rings are good, but you don't get a lot of them, especially for that price. You'll spend around $15 for all that and a drink, and I'm not sure it's $15 good, but it's good. I'd compare them to Shake n Go in terms of price / quality.

  • Joseph E.

As a vegetarian, finding a decent fast food burger is not so easily found. Burger Town can easily swap out any meat patty for a veggie. It is one of the tastiest burgers you'll ever try and do get the steak fries for an extra crunchy treat. I don't know what they do but wow is the food so delicious and borderline more gourmet. Best veggie burger in all the Puget Sound.

  • Heather M.

Great quick take out or dine in burger joint! I don't like the atmosphere, more of a quick place with amazing food!

  • Hussein S.

Best burgers in town! The veggie burger is awesome for vegetarians and fish burger is also rockin

  • Monica R.

Great burgers at a great price! We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for our two burgers and fries, but I think it was worth the wait. Next time I think we'll call in our order and then pick it up.

    (4)
  • Lydia S.

Everything is affordable. Burgers and fries are yummy. I would say if they season the patties a bit and wrapped the burgers in a more resistant heat paper for the "to go" orders place...everything would be spectacular. Regardless, will be back!!!!!

Located in downtown Renton, Burger Town is owned and operated by the nicest people. I ordered a cheeseburger, my friends ordered a mushroom burger and blue cheese burger, and we all shared curly fries. We all really enjoyed our food. The burger was cooked nicely and their "house sauce" was great (I'm pretty sure it's some kind of thousand island dressing)! We also had a vanilla milkshake and oreo milkshake, and their milkshakes are THE BEST!! I've been searching low and high for a great milkshake place, and here it is. The only downside is that they close at 8pm during the weekday. I have to plan ahead to get my milkshake fix!

  • Keith R.

The burgers came out looking juicy and delicious, and they absolutely delivered. My friend ordered a mushroom burger, and I ordered a grilled chicken. Both were very good. The basket came with fries, which were decent (nothing exceptional). The price was reasonable - a little more expensive than fast food, but cheaper than Red Robin, and with better quality burgers. The restaurant has the plastic diner-like tables, but the chairs are quite comfortable, and everything was absolutely immaculate. Wonderful job of cleaning makes me very happy to eat there, and bring people there if we want a quick burger. If you're looking for a great burger quick, this is really where you want to go. No idea about the Onion rings, but with all the people praising them, I'll have to give them a try and update. Five out of five stars, because I have trouble imagining going somewhere and spending $5-7 burgers from a place and having them beat this.

    (5)
  • Andy P.

I give Burger Town five stars. It doesn't pretend to be anything fancy, like Red Robin, and it's not assembly-line style, like 5 Guys (though I like them, also). Unlike some places (e.g., Lunchbox Laboratory) it doesn't focus on "gourmet" burgers that are difficult to eat. The food here is straightforward and very tasty. I am especially impressed by the buns for the burgers, which are fairly thin, and make the burgers easy to eat. We no longer live in Renton, but try to eat at BT when we have errands to run in the area. Basically, there is no decorating theme to the place. It is plain and unadorned, except for the bulletin board where local businesses can place their business cards and advertisements. That is a very nice touch. I like businesses that don't pretend to be something fancy. In that respect, it's similar to Saar's Marketplace, which is my favorite grocery store.

Great burger, great chocolate shake. Amazing onion rings that were cooked properly crisp! Service was wonderful too. Definitely coming back. Good value too.

  • Damiko W.

Food is good but a bit over priced. I was extremely surprised at how clean the restrooms were. Not what I was expecting. The milk shakes are handmade. I've tried the carmel shake (a bit sweet) and the latest time tried out the blackberry shake (very good).

  • Gary F.

Was eyeballing this place since I saw it show up in town. Didnt think much of it driving by as it looks like a little hole in the wall. Finally broke down and hit them up. Tried the BBQ burger. HOT DAMN! thats a good burger. Much better than I thought it would be. Real beef, tasty, juicy, not over flavored. Just kind of perfect.

    (5)
  • Kimberly Y.

This place came highly recommended but I was very disappointed. The "meat" was a preformed patty, probably frozen and had zero flavor. After two bites, I pulled the meat out and ate about half of the rest. The onion rings were ok but I have had better ones. Frankly, I have had better burgers and onion rings for what I paid for this meal. I won't be back.

    (2)
  • Jennifer A.

Pretty good burgers here in what used to be a bodega. They are large with fresh toppings. Not greasy or soggy. The burgers are pretty cheap and high quality. We usually get bacon cheese or teriyaki burgers. If they had fresh cut fries instead of frozen that might knock this place out of the park. This is actually one of the best fast food burger joints in Renton.

    (4)
  • Jessica G.

I've eaten here a few times now and every time has been great! The burgers are perfectly cooked and soooo tasty. Their house sauce is delicious and everything is affordably priced. The onion rings are stellar. The breading is light and crunchy and the onion pieces are just the right size. The gentleman that works there is super nice and friendly. If I'm ever craving a burger, this is the only place I'll go.

    (5)
  • Ricardo G.

Best burger in Renton - better than five guys - and that's saying a lot. This is a pop and son operation that knows what makes a good burger. A real bun, fresh and copious veggies, served under the burger, where they belong. Altogether, a hidden treasure.

    (5)
  • Carolyn H.

I heard great things about this place but I was not all that impressed. My burger was very standard... Comparable to any fast food restaurant or burger stand. The onion rings I actually found to be pathetic. There were seven onion rings for 3 dollars. However, I'm not sure there was an actual onion in any of them. I would go back.. Maybe.

    (3)
  • B. S.

Onion rings good but for $3.00 would expect more. Chicken on burger dried out and over cooked. Bland tarter sauce. Might be back to try meat burger sometime.

  • Taryn H.

Awesome burgers! I honestly wouldn't have thought to try this place if I hadn't seen it on Yelp, since it's pretty non-descript from the outside. We got takeout from here the other day and my bf and I split the California and BBQ burgers with fries and onion rings Everything was delicious, and the ingredients were super fresh. They get bonus points for reminding me that I wanted ranch for dipping, because I'm always disappointed every time I inevitably forget. I'll definitely be back to this one, I can't wait to try the other burgers they've got!

    (4)
  • Levi T.

Best burger joint hands down! Quality ingredients all the way around I've tried most of their burgers and you can't go wrong with any of them my favorite is the BBQ burger with a Carmel shake on the side absolutely delish! Plus free wifi!

  • shirley l.

I admit I stopped by Red Robbins first only to come here because the wait was too ridic over there. I pass this little gem on my way home all the time and never really thought about stopping in until the other night. Anyway, on to the burgers - I tried the 787 Jumbo Burger, vanilla shake & onion rings.. And it was all dee-lish! The onion ring stays a ring the whole time you eat it. That means when you take a bite, the onion doesn't pull out with the piece you but leaving you with a giant piece of boring batter! Onion rings done right will get them 2 stars alone! My only gripe is that the beef patty seemed to be a tad bit overdone and could've spent one less minute on the grill to retain some more juices. Other then that I don't have any real complaints. I will definitely be back!

My partner and I went there on Saturday after seeing some good reviews and always on the lookout for a good burger place. Our gold standard is Zippy's in White Center and Red Mill in Seattle. We were both very disappointed and won't go back again. We split a bacon cheeseburger and the seafood platter. The seafood platter was acceptable. Two pieces of straight out of the bag fish, three very good shrimp and some ok clam strips with very good crinkle cut fries and tartar. The burger?? Horrible. They say these use 100% fresh chuck, but it was obvious that this was a typical compressed beef patty. Overcooked to the point where the patty was gray and dry. The bun it came on was good, but the bacon was so overcooked it was almost black and snapped in half. None of us finished our portion. TERRIBLE !! Heaven Sent Chicken is right down the street, so I got some awesome chicken to make up for the 27 bucks we had just wasted at Burgertown. Two stars ONLY because the seafood platter was OK................................

Really good burger at a very reasonable price. Most of their selection is under $6. As far as I can tell it's better than Five Guys because they're not super greasy and I'm pretty sure Burger Town uses real cheese. Five Guys uses the Kraft slices type. Burger Town's buns are really good too. I would definitely eat here again. Nice guys, free WiFi, low key atmosphere.

Now that I'm doing a few weeks time on a construction project at the big airplane factory, I'm discovering Renton and all the great little lunch spots. It's a combination of yelp search and a little serendipity finding these places. Burger Town certainly ranks among my best discoveries. I had the California burger because anything that comes with avocado gets my attention (soCal native here). I would classify this as a gourmet burger. The patty was charbroiled and had a good charbroiled taste. The bun was a premium nicely crusted and well toasted bun. I had a side of onion rings with tarter sauce (something I picked up after living 20 years in Seattle). This is really a nice, friendly, clean place serving up some excellent food. I'll be back to try out some of the other choices.

This place is great, I got a BBQ burger and it was yummy. These guys take their time when they make your burger, so it's made with love. Very clean inside and have free wifi.

I was taken back by the outstanding map of the United States made of license plates from 48 states. The fries were ok, comparable to Mcdonalds fries though the burger was quite good. The burger was a little overdone but I didn't tell the guy what I wanted so it might of been my bad. Someone I was eating lunch with spilled water all over the table and the clerk lifted the table away and replaced it with a new table which is a huge plus! The crazy people yelling in the parking lot provided lots of entertainment, plus they had HLN playing. All in all for the food and price I would come back again for a Burger Town burger.

My fiance introduced me to this place, and I'm glad he did. Both times, the meals were tasty. Most recently, I had the California wrap and he had the Town Burger. I had a bite of his burger and fell in love! Yes, it was messy, but it was DELICIOUS! The meat was cooked perfectly and the buns are soft and fluffy. My wrap was good, a little too much ranch, but still good. Next time I will be getting the Town Burger!

Meh... was hoping for a fresh and freshly made burger in the neighborhood I could go to from the office that was a cut above the typical Renton fast foodie places. I asked for it medium. What I got was what looked like a 1/3 lb, pre-made, pre-cooked, frozen patty that was simply warmed and well-done, not at all medium for 5 dollars. It did have a nice bun, onions and lettuce. I asked for mayo instead of the 1000 island and got so much mayo that it was a mess and falling apart by the third bite. Not sure I'll come back.

I'd be tempted, like other Yeeps, to call Burger Town a great little find. But the reality is that their bright yellow sign jumps right out at you on 3rd Street. Impossible to miss! Kidd Valley and Five Guys Burger sell decent burgers, but Burger Town serves up the best damn hamburger in Renton (and surrounding environs, including Seattle). I ordered the Onion burger. Outstanding! it came with cheese and grilled white onion after I said no pickle, no lettuce and no tomato. Burger Town cooks their meat on a griddle. Griddle cooking is perfect for hamburgers. It browns and caramelizes the beef without imparting a bitter charbroiled flavor. You love In-and-Out burgers don't you? Of course you do, and theirs are cooked on a griddle. The Burger Town hamburger bun was exceptional too. Sort of a Kaiser bun, it was toasted and lightly buttered (visualize an Etta burger in Portland, but better). Though toasted, the bun was soft. I also ordered onion rings. I may be giving up on onion rings, because of late it seems wherever I go, like today, onion rings are beer-battered which, well, whatever. Oh but that funky taste and aftertaste! On the other hand, the rings were nicely browned and Burger Town offers quite a few different dipping sauces. I picked 1000 Island dressing for my onion rings, and it was thick and good. Great non-crowded lunchtime location, with plenty of tables and a comfortable clean ambience. Their TV was broadcasting news/sports channel HLN. I thought at first it was FOX, but it wasn't. HLN must be a satellite station because I'd never heard of it before. I'll be back to try the cod & chips. Close to five stars if I forget about the onion rings, and I'm sure I will soon. Burger Town is a great little find after all.

I'd have to agree with everyone else posting. They are a little pricey, paid over $12 for the BBQ burger with large fries and a drink (non-combo meal - which I would do next time since it was under $8). If there was a definition of a healthy burger this would be it. It didn't leave you feeling like your arteries needed a pipe cleaner. Anyways, the sauce is just right. It could be a little stronger but the amount was good, not too much minimizing the messiness of eating a juicy burger. It took a little bit of time - about 18 minutes - to get the burger done but i'm not sure if its because they actually hand made the patty to order. This would be tough if you were in a rush. Still, this was a take your time and enjoy burger. Fries, could be better. Wasn't impressed. I think I paid over 3 dollars for it. I'd stick to just getting it with a combo. The fries do not do the burgers justice. Environment - place is clean and service was standard. They do have wifi and a tv with CNN on. TV was a little loud. I'll be back for more!

a decent Burger Joint in Downtown Renton! Good Solid tasting Milk Shakes can be found here! Maybe it was an Hiccup!?? but the Beef patty was somewhat dry.. =/ But nevertheless Friendly Service, Burger Town does! **I'm going to update my review again after a couple more visits!

Great burgers. I had the Human Torch and tater tots. Served fast and the greeting when you walk in the door is good. overheard the cashier telling a customer that he bought it from the uncle and he was the new owner glad to have some young blood owning a new business!

Burger Town is a small joint located directly across from the Renton Transit Center. Personally, I found the burgers to be absolutely delicious! Then again, I'm not the type of person who likes overly greasy, fattening burgers, and even though these burgers tasted healthier, they were packed with flavor (I had the California Burger - avocados, onions, and a nice dose of orange sauce - yum!). I got this with a side of curly fries, which were pretty standard, but good. I prefer the ones at Jack In The Box, but that's just me. I was kinda disappointed that the burgers don't already come with sides, especially for the price. Burger Town is pricey, but it's not disappointing or overly pricey to the point that you feel like you wasted your money. I would only pay $8 for a burger and fries, but it came out to about $11-12! With that said, I wouldn't eat here regularly, maybe every couple of months or when I feel like it... Anyhow, nice and quiet place with a TV! It's a good place to stop by for a quick bite and relax and enjoy yourself!

I think Chuck Norris would approve of these burgers... I tried the Onion Burger... it was goood----bit more tender onions probably would've made it perfect... I need to go back and try the rest of their menu. Yup.

I'm thankful to have found Burger Town through Yelp. Good ol' burgers have always held a special place in my heart and belly. I've had burgers at places for a buck all the way up to $15 for a single burger. My palate for food has definitely evolved over the years and with respect to burgers, my expectations are higher now for what constitutes a great burger compared to just a good burger. People are seeing the rising cost of fast food. Now these McD, BK, Wendy, JiB franchises are all offering $5+ burgers. If anyone wants to compare, you'll find there's a huge difference at Burger Town with respect to taste, quality, and how the burger is put together. For those reviewers like James B. (6/27/12) complaining about the price, I suggest staying with your value menu burger at your favorite fast food joint. For those wondering about how it compares with Five Guys in Renton, I'd say they're both at around the same price point. However, the burger taste and experience is different. Five Guys is a good burger, but not great. I don't think of BT as a fast food joint. They cook up your burgers right after you've ordered. The ingredients are noticeably higher quality than what you would get from other burger places so the value for the price is great! About five minutes later, your perfectly hand made burger arrives to your table. The beef is well formed, isn't dripping with grease, and tastes great. The lettuce, onions, and tomatoes are fresh with a nice crunch. The quality hamburger buns that BT has chosen to use round out the rest of the classic burger and complement it with just the right taste. Burger Town is owned and operated by a Korean family right in the heart of downtown Renton near the metro station. The proprietors definitely know how to make a quality burger for around the $5 price point! Not only that, the fries and shakes are excellent! What I usually order when I go there: * BBQ burger * Basket of fries * Banana milkshake Burgers I've also tried and recommend: * Bacon cheese burger * Blue cheese burger * Mushroom burger My fellow hamburger foodies, give this place a try and maybe you'll be Yelping about your experience too.

Before heading off to see a movie, the hubby and I stopped in to fill our bellies with a nice hearty burger! Upon entering, the place is quaint and clean...plus they have some parking up front, yay! Yes, the prices are a bit more than your typical fast food joint or even Red Robin as they have the whole endless fry deal. Aside from fast food being icky and the chaotic interior of a typical Red Robin, this place has food that is good and tasty! I ordered the "Town Burger" and my husband the "787 Jumbo Burger". We were swayed by the tasty toppings but also liked that these came with fries. We also ordered milkshakes and split an order of fried mushrooms. The burgers were great, hearty and messy without being overly rich and greasy. I loved the mushrooms and onions on the Town Burger. The french fries were so-so, they tasted like your average frozen crinkle fry and needed a touch more seasoning. After reading some reviews, I'll have to give those onion rings a try. I will say that we were genuinely disappointed in the mushrooms though. There wasn't much flavor and the batter just seemed a touch too thick. We were very pleased with our milkshakes, thick and perfectly sweet. Overall, the staff were very friendly and this is a great place for a burger and milkshake, we will definitely be returning!

Stopped here after an appointment in Renton. It was good burger, I got the double meat option. They use leaf lettuce, red onion which are a must on a good burger. The roll was substantial and really made the burger. The fries were the let down, they are using frozen crinkle fries which are my least favorite.

I concur with the positive reviews. I'm a native Rentonite and I can tell you there hasn't been a real burger joint downtown (old town) for many years (not counting The Landing, that's not downtown). I've driven by several times and got curious so I checked out the reviews which inspired me to give it a try. I almost thought it was just a walk up place because the storefront looks small and you might think there's little or no seating inside. I was delighted when we entered that it had a rather large, clean, and comfortable dinning area. My deluxe cheese burger was great. They use real beef with no fillers and they don't skimp on the pattie size. The taste reminded me of ground sirloin. The burgers were done to perfection and the proportions of all ingredients were just right. The fries were very good also. I saw fish & chips on the menu so I'll have to try that. I've only been here once so no 5 stars today but I'll be back and revise. Friendly service and don't be in a hurry, take your time and enjoy the eats.

This place is a great find in a place like Renton. This place isn't just a burger joint, because they do chicken, fish, wraps, shakes, and fried root vegetables well. I won't say it's the best burger you'll ever have, but it always hits the spot. The owners are pretty friendly as well.

Best burger spot in south king county. Great size (1/3lb. patties) at a good price. Definitely worth the trip from my Fairwood/Kent area home. The double cheeseburger with the house sauce is on point.

Okay, first off let me just say that I'm an AVID fan of In N' Out burgers. Nothing else beat's 'em. And I HATE Dick's burgers. So, I'm always on the look out for a burger that is a step above the rest. Whistle Stop Ale House is at the top for Renton. But, tonight as we received our bacon cheeseburgers, and I took my first PERFECT bite, I was in heaven. Every single ingredient on this burger was the right fit. And the bacon.... OMG, it was the best I've had on a burger. It wasn't too crispy.... still maintaining that softness, but cooked just right. The bun was like a kaiser roll and it tasted really good. The meat was cooked just right. The sauce wasn't overly heavy. The pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato were all good as well. We were the only customers inside, so it made for a very pleasant meal. The onion rings were good, but I've had better (Phil's BBQ in San Diego, CA). Next time I will try the fries and see how they compare. Yes, I said NEXT TIME, because we will definitely be going back, and soon.

I never ate here but the prices are not cool... I went in the restaurant and was ready to eat a nice juicy burger. Then I looked at the prices OMG! I almost feel back and fainted because it was way to much money for a nice buger. And that's not including fries or drink. smh...

I'm big into BBQ Burgers and this place has one of the best ones I've ever tried. I'd say second best because what I do at Fuddruckers is crazy. Instant heart attack. But yeah, back to this place. The second best BBQ burger I have ever had. Every item was cooked perfectly (Onion rings, patty and bacon) with the perfect amount of BBQ sauce. And About the onion rings, they were equally perfect. Not too greasy and no onion drag. If there was a negative to this place it would be the fact that it's not open 7 days a week. It is a family run restaurant so I could see how they would need a day off. I should definitely venture away from the BBQ burger because they have a nice sized menu with a solid variety of burgers/wraps/fish &chips, but they're really hard to pass up. Pros: Onion Rings Burger was assembled perfectly Cons: Not open 7 days a week :( Its about a 15-20 minute drive :-\

Burgers were fresh and had that homemade taste, not the red slime/sludge from fast food burgers. Guy at the counter was sweet and friendly enough, and the place is nice and clean. Onion rings were crispy and plentiful, and the fries were definitely frozen, but cooked to a nice crisp. Was nice to see that this little neighborhood business was much more than I had anticipated, as I have driven by many times with no intentions of ever stopping. Glad I Yelped it. Would have gotten 5 stars, but it has a tv running on the local news channel. We stopped eating when the newscaster began the story about a human hand being found. Buzz kill indeed!

Pass this place all the time, read the reviews, so had to try it for myself. Let's just start by saying.........In N Out has NOTHING on this burger joint!! The burgers here are cooked to perfection! You can taste the beef, how it is supposed to taste from a burger. The bun was fresh, and thin enough to not overpower the taste of the burger. I could hear audible sighs and moans of delight, then realized that the noises were coming from me! Such a delight to find a great burger place that is not overpriced, over hyped, or over indulgent on there toppings. Perfectly cooked, perfectly accented with the condiments, and ample amount of beef to fill you up, but not leave you with the over-stuffed feeling. Best burger joint I have found so far up here, since recently relocating from Southern California. Just down the street from Rainier, can't miss the bright yellow sign on the right........stop on by for a GREAT burger at an unexpected place! You WON'T be sorry!!

In the world of burgers is this a 4-star burger? No, I would go to the Sunset Ale House in Issaquah. But in its class (compared to Kidd Valley, Burgermaster, etc) it is 4-star. Meat does taste hand formed as people mention, good quality and not with the standard flat big patty (that tastes like it came from Costco) that you get at Triple XXX, Burgermaster or Kidd Valley. I had the avocado bacon burger. The only complaint on this is the bacon. It is not the regular pan fried bacon, it is the flat pre-cooked, vacuum packed, no refrigeration thin variety you see on a McDonald's egg McMuffin or that you take on a camping trip. This kind of bacon flattens out and the flavor almost disappears when put on a burger. Stepping up to the real deal bacon would be an improvement. And buns...don't smash or grill your buns on the top. This isn't a panini. The burger seemed to take an awfully long time and this bun grilling may have contributed to the time. I do like a warmed hamburger bun, but how about just throwing it down on the grill to warm up. The sauce on the burger was great (the thousand island type sauce I like), but I added salt and pepper the meat and salt to the fries as they were all rather bland. Overall it was pretty good and I will go back.

What a jem of a find in downtown Renton! The building is really unassuming, but inside you have your typical diner - bight, clean, with friendly staff. The burgers are great! Very filling and really quite scrumptious. I got the California burger (Im a sucker for avacado) and I think the boy got their basic Bacon Burger. Perfectly cooked bacon --not floppy nor burned! (That makes Kate happy). Their fries were fairly typical --skinny & cripsy but nothing amazing. I was glad we got one order to share because like I said, the burger was filling and there was no way I could have had an order of fries to myself and finished. It seems everything is made to order so you will have a bit of a wait here, fyi. But it's fresh that way! So who cares? The place stayed pretty busy while we were there -- a good sign I think.

Burgertown is located in downtown Renton and has parking out front. They make great fries and burgers (and wraps). They make good milkshakes and their prices are comparable to other fast food joints in the area. If my boyfriend and in go to McDonald's and get two meals we pay only a dollar or so less (totals including tax. Here we'll order two burgers and one large fries instead of two meals, no drinks) so they are fairly comparable as they have much better quality. It is a family owned restaurant with a mother, father and son running it most of the time (I've seen occasional help).

A hidden gem! Fresh grilled burgers and at a great price too. I tried both the California and Hawaiian burger and both satisfied my burger craving. Just as good as In-n-out and Shake Shack, if not a little better for the variety available. I'll be returning again and will also be ordering a shake on the side.

  • Brandon H.

I have had way better in Renton. I got the bacon burger the bacon was so bad I had to pull it off the Burger They don't have meals (Combos) , so you have to order everything separately I ordered bacon burger and Fries came close to $8 with no Drink. the burger was mediocre. I claim that Kidd-Valley and Red Robin are better.

  • Johnnie L.

I see this place all the time. So I decided to try it out after reading the reviews. The I got the Bacon cheese burger and fries. The burger was pretty good. I like how the bun was not so thick so you taste more burger than bun. The topping tasted fresh. The fries were good, not greasy and crunchy. Just the way I like it. The place is a simple corner burger joint, the service was good and inexpensive. I'll be back next time I'm looking for a burger joint!

  • Robert B.

OUR FAVORITE HAMBURGER JOINT!! The burgers are tasty, the place is clean, the service for an "order at the counter" place is efficient and friendly. Not only is the meat, the most lean and good flavor the buns don't disintegrate after the first bite. Try the berry shake, fantastico!!

  • Greg H.

Delicious burgers, made especially good by the generous toppings! I like to support local businesses if they are doing good work, and this place definitely makes the cut. Whenever I'm feeling like a good piece of red meat, I head to B-town. Forget about fast food. Cheaper and better than red robin.

    (4)
  • Dima S.

Great burgers, that's all I have to say. Classy atmosphere. A bit pricey, but that's expected as it's not a fast food joint. Was a bit disappointed with mushrooms, but the burger made up for that.

  • Briana R.

I live right down the street from this place and eat here frequently. Its always fresh and made to order. I get the 787 Jumbo burger because its one of the only 2 that have fries with the burger, and its juicy and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

  • Atcking J.

I've been to this place a few times now, burgers are tasty, they always use the freshest ingredients. Fries are just ok for me (reg and curly) I agree its kind of pricey. Almost everything is priced seperate, they should just make all combo meals! Ive also tryed the wraps, the california wrap is the best. Good service, and there is a slight wait to get your food, which Im ok with cuz I know they my food is cooked fresh to order.

  • JD G.

Went here based on the good reviews. I ordered the bacon burger and a chocolate shake, and had a few of my buddy's curly fries. The burger was hefty, a good value for $5, but was unfortunately a little overdone for my taste. The shake was decent but nothing amazing for $3.50. The curly fries were pretty good too, but the same as anywhere really. Overall, it was a decent value for pretty good food. Definitely beats the large chains but below the Dicks and Burger Masters of the world.

  • Tim H.

If you like a really good burger, this is one of the better burger joints around! All of the burgers are made fresh, cooked to order, and are bigger (1/3 pound I believe). I love that they come with the bottom half of the burger wrapped in the sandwhich paper so that all of the yummy juices don't drip all over the place. Love the fries as well - skinny fries that are hot and crisp, and a full size portion! When I go with the wife and 2 kids we get two orders of fries and split them, and with the large burger it is PLENTY! I'm not sure about the comments regarding "combo" meals - everytime I've been there you can add fries and a drink for about $2.50, so regardless of the burger I get out for under $9.00. Service is friendly and efficient as well. My kids are always begging to go back - need I say more!

Typical frozen burger patties... Not terrible, but wouldn't come back.

    (2)
  • Clayton J.

This place was pretty good, but all in all overrated. The wait was really long and then the portions were not what I expected. I had to look for avacado, because I couldn't see or taste it and the patties and fries portion were much smaller than described. There was not a single thing wring with the taste, but at the end of the day Red Robin was a better choice. I say try it, but you will see it's nothing special.

Cute, basic burger place in Renton. I had the fish burger, which was moist, tender white fish, fried up and placed on a on a hearty bun with lettuce and tomato. Very good. The bf had a bacon cheeseburger, which he much enjoyed. The fries were a bit lacking, not bad but kinda blah. We should have tried the curly fries, I guess. They have some good smoothies and shakes.

GREAT burgers here! Friendly service, fresh ingredients -- big portions. What Kidd Valley used to be. Better than Burgermaster (which is still a great burger. And kid-friendly meals, too. We will be back.

I tried Burger Town based on the previous reviews and my experience was a little different. My burger was overcooked and may even have been partially cooked prior to my placing the order, at least that's the way it seemed. The fries should have been made fresh but were of the previously frozen variety. I realize the place has only been open for a short time so maybe they will improve. On the other hand they may just not have the great burger joint concept down yet. Top quality, fresh ingredients, well prepared. Seems simple.

    (3)
  • Erin H.

just plain good. Good quality meat. Real lettuce, not chopped-up crunchy water. Tasty sauce. Quality bun that is almost a roll, which you need because the meat is so juicy a lesser bun would fall apart. The fries are first rate, either regular or curly. As for the service, it is warm and efficient. The place is super clean.

IN LOVE with this place. Awesome burgers, great buns, the best fries I have had in a long time. A must when looking for burgers in Renton or the Eastside for that matter.

The burgers here are pretty good. I really wanted them to be spectacular, but not quite there. The wraps sound good, but we haven't tried them yet. The people are super friendly, and the service is pretty quick. I'd definitely give it a try - especially the onion rings!

In one review, someone compared this place to In-N-Out burger, so I had to check it out. It was nothing like In-N-Out burger. It was just okay. Nothing special. Good burgers, friendly service.

  • Cindy L.

I think their burgers are better than Five Guys, and are larger as well. Their onion rings are to die for, absolutely fantastic! My only complaint is that they are too pricey. They charge $3.25 for a milkshake and it is all of about 8 ounces. I purchased a single cheeseburger, onion rings, a medium drink, and a milkshake, and the bill was about $15 for everything. I thought that was a little steep, then again I am new to WA state and I guess things tend to be more expensive here. Anyways, happy eats!

  • eli e.

Y'know I have to downgrade a star because the meat in the burger just don't seem right. The quality and texture is off. The buns are still great, and all the toppings, but they need to get a better sear on the meat and use a more fatty mix, the mouth feel wasn't right, too chewy.

  • M F.

This clean and bright new burger place in downtown Renton is fantastic. They have a wide selection of burgers. I had the California burger, which has bacon, swiss, avocado, and pickles. It was amply proportioned but not excessive, tidy rather than sloppy (this is not the 5 Guys "everything and the kitchen sink" burger experience--Burger Town burgers are more refined). The burgers are fresh and, I believe, made in house. I also had curly fries, which were everything you'd expect curly fries to be--curly and fried. Service was great. They are giving away free drinks to celebrate their opening. In addition to burgers, they have a wide selection of wraps as well as fish and veggie burgers for the health-conscious. A great place to grab lunch and a nice addition to Renton's amenities.

California burger was awesome! The sauce was great! We also split the chicken wrap which was nice and light and some fries which were salty and crispy and yummy!

Completely honest, when I walked in, I was a bit worried. It was completely empty and the guy was laying his head down on the counter. But once I took a bite, I understood the great ratings! Very mom and pop vibe, the burgers were great and the fries hit the spot.

Fresh, hot, top-grade ingredients, and a really good toasted bun make this burger a cut above the rest. Onion rings equally wonderful. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Can't wait to come back for the fish and chips!

Awesome.... fresh, hand formed patty burgers with excellent buns. The onion rings are perfectly done (no hot onions slapping your chin)... the milkshakes are made with real ice cream and hand-blended! I highly recommend this place for a good burger. Ask for extra house sauce. It's really good.

Nice people and good food! You get your moneys worth, I got the bacon cheeseburger and there was no shortage of topping and their sauce was really good. They also did curly fries right!! I chose to come here over five guys and ill do the same next time too!! If you want burgers in renton come here!

I love this place. They have the best fish and chips: fresh, tasty and plenty. The hamburgers are good, too, maybe a little too big. Their smoothies are great, too. Service is excellent, the place is clean and inviting. I keep going back there.

Great burgers at a great price! We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for our two burgers and fries, but I think it was worth the wait. Next time I think we'll call in our order and then pick it up.

Food is good but a bit over priced. I was extremely surprised at how clean the restrooms were. Not what I was expecting. The milk shakes are handmade. I've tried the carmel shake (a bit sweet) and the latest time tried out the blackberry shake (very good).

  • Ricardo G.

Best burger in Renton - better than five guys - and that's saying a lot. This is a pop and son operation that knows what makes a good burger. A real bun, fresh and copious veggies, served under the burger, where they belong. Altogether, a hidden treasure.

Best burger joint hands down! Quality ingredients all the way around I've tried most of their burgers and you can't go wrong with any of them my favorite is the BBQ burger with a Carmel shake on the side absolutely delish! Plus free wifi!

A new gem in Renton!!! The burgers are to die for and for the price, it really can't get any better. Delicious food and a very clean restaurant.

  • Dima S.

Great burgers, that's all I have to say. Classy atmosphere. A bit pricey, but that's expected as it's not a fast food joint. Was a bit disappointed with mushrooms, but the burger made up for that.

  • Antonio R.

    (4)
  • eli e.

Y'know I have to downgrade a star because the meat in the burger just don't seem right. The quality and texture is off. The buns are still great, and all the toppings, but they need to get a better sear on the meat and use a more fatty mix, the mouth feel wasn't right, too chewy.

    (4)

A great place to grab lunch and a nice addition to Renton's amenities.

had the veggie burger.. it was ok frozen garden burger patty from costco.. the bun was great though and alot of fresh veggies.. fries were ok like MCD.. little bit pricey though..
