Much like so many things in life timing is everything at Ann's. I recommend stopping by sometime after breakfast and before dinner on a week day. Of course this doesn't guarantee that the server won't be dressed like a lady of the evening(no problem here), the food will be served correctly and at lightning speed, or if you sit outside some generous smoker won't share their carcinogenic love via an otherwise innocent breeze. I don't know how old the building is but I always wonder how it would fare in a really good earthquake. It survived the one in 2001 just fine and I'm guessing the 6.7 in 1949. I always have these thoughts when it comes to structures on pylons. At the very least there is a good deal of memorabilia hanging from the ceiling so ducking under something solid may be in order. I love all the swag but would prefer not to have a decorative boat oar drop fifteen feet and ever so gently break my beak or noggin. Everything is likely bolted and screwed securely to the ceiling but these things still run through my mind like Jack LaLanne on one of his final brisk early morning jogs. The beer on tap is generally good. They have the proverbial IPAs and pale ales ect. Sometimes they have Pyramid hefeweizen which is a decent American style hefe. Like I've said before, I am a creature of habit and I love a good reuben sandwich. Ann's turkey reuben has been my go to for years now. I don't even miss the pastrami. I have never experienced the culinary sin of soggy bread when dinning at Ann's. This is fundamentally detrimental to the sandwich. Such horror can be forgiven because I acknowledge that we are all human and as such flawed from the cradle to the casket but I will never forget and thus ever order said meal again from the offending eatery. May the deity of the readers choice please bless the reuben at Ann's and keep it sog free for well into the unforeseeable future.

This place is one of a kind. Very scenic, off the beaten path, good service, good prices, and usually good food. Sometimes they get a little bit too busy and service and food quality falls off a bit. But, overall we like tugboat Annie's any day. It is a great place to bring out-of-town guests. They'll want to return. The menu is varied from simple to fancy, and they have a fantastic bar. Everyone likes this place. The blue cheese Burger and the prime rib dip are two of my favorites. I've never had better anywhere.

I've been here several times. Great food, great views and atmosphere. Tonight I had the Mushroom Swiss burger which was excellent as usual. My GF had the crab melt which was incredible. The only reason I gave four stars is that they have a fairly slow kitchen, even when they aren't busy. Other than that they deserve kudos for the great servers and great food. One thing to note, don't panic if the parking lot if full, they share it with the marina.

Enjoyed this place while on vacation last week. Came with the family and was able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I had the Cod Burger with a fresh grilled cod filet, served with lettuce, tomato, and tartar. It was so fresh and yummy! I really enjoyed their seasoned fries, didn't need any ketchup. Everyone else loved their food as well. Had great service, my family wanted to come back again for lunch but we didn't find the time. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu.

I feel really awful about this review. However, we had some really BAD service. And by BAD, I mean awful. Upon being seated the two adults were brought waters. My daughter was not but we were assured a water would come for her. It did. Thirty minutes later when I asked again for her water. Yes, there were several large parties and I understand how that can back things up for the smaller tables. We did, however, only order a flank steak salad, steamed clams, and a grilled cheese sandwich. The side salad had items on it that were asked to not be there. It took and hour to get our food and another ten minutes to get the "balsamic vinaigrette" which was actually oil and vinegar. Thank you for the large portions... You win there. We ordered the drink special of the night which sounded delicious... But were sadly informed they were out of a key ingredient. Take it off the board! The gingerpolitan was tasty but very questionable as to whether there was any alcohol in it. The server was an indifferent millennial, wearing a torn sleep tank from Target. A little class would go a long way. And a caring attitude even further. I get that it was the Friday night of a holiday weekend... But a place that is as well established as this should be prepared for such. Very disappointed. I am not sure I would bring out of town guests here again. So disappointing.

This place was alright. The server was kind and fast. The crab cakes were yummy. Kinda expensive for the food to money to good taste ratio. Beware of sitting on the deck. Literally four smokers parked their asses directly under where we were eating and shared their habit with us. 'Twas sucky.

The food is good and the view is unbeatable! I prefer breakfast here but dinner was good. I tried the ribs and they were ok. Not sure I'd have the same if I were to go back. For breakfast I had the French Toast and it was AWESOME. I will definitely come back for those.

Great service at this place. I went with a friend for the kayak and breakfast special. $50 and two can kayak for two hours before breakfast or two hours after. Includes breakfasts (except crab Benedict) and two coffees. With some add ons (like mimosas and a side of back) it was about $75 with tip. It's best to make reservations as they were sold out of kayaking slots til 2pm when when arrived at 9am. The pancakes are huge and fluffy. My omelette was perfect- bay shrimp, cheddar and tomatoes.

  • April P.

A bit pricey, but definitely worth it! On the water with spectacular views :) all the food was A-Maze-Ing. Big portions almost too much for me. And the service was very friendly. We will definitely be back to check out the breakfast kayaking special.

  • Safiah P.

This place was really cute. You can do the breakfast special, which is basically breakfast and kayak for $25 per person. You get to kayak for 2 hrs. So I thought that was neat. Our server was alright. He took forever to get us water and rake our orders. We sat outside and wasn't sure what was going on inside, so maybe he was busy? But from what I can see or experienced his service wasn't all that great. The food was alright too. I don't know if I would go back, but I guess it depends if my husband wants to kayak again the next time we visit. Lol

This place is a gold mine if you're the owner. It has so much potential. The food is old school fish house style. Fair price and quantity. HOWEVER, it needs a lot of help, even if it is in unique Olympia. The staff wear whatever they want. You can find yoga pants, shorts, jeans, or a bartender in a sun dress. Put everyone in jeans and black t-shirts for our sanity and yours. Consistency is a good thing. PLEASE PLEASE wash your hands after you handle dirty glasses that are stacked in front of customers sitting at the bar and you grab them by the rim, and before you make the next drink. Please don't chew gum. Wipe down the bar. Keep the dirty food plates out of sight. Organize the bar. Get rid of personal items. And please get Christopher some help. He has a lot to learn but is the only one in the restaurant with a sense of urgency. And even in the toughest times keeps a great attitude. Staff is pleasant and friendly. Huge potential. In short, Just clean it up. Better you hear it from us than the health department. And please go to jeans and a t-shirt. It fits. We will go back either way. But would go back a lot more if it was clean and consistent.

  • Michelle F.

The service was good for us but the food was mediocre. Basically all that we had was tasteless, unremarkable. Shrimp was begging for some seasoning! I'm sure I heard it begging. The location is pretty nifty but don't expect to be impressed with their food. Just satisfies your hunger and that's it.

  • Mike R.

Been here a few times and although it's off the beaten path my wife and I love it. Have not had a bad meal and the prices are great. Service can be a little slow at times but there is always a crowd. Love the prime rib sandwich and the fish.

    (5)
  • Michelle M.

Delicious shrimp and fries. The are soft and they even cut the tails off before they batter them. Hearty portion as well. Had a really great side salad as well. Atmosphere is really relaxing and has a great view of the bay prices are reasonable. Would highly recommend. I didn't come here for breakfast, this time, but their breakfast is awesome too.

    (5)
  • Leah M.

I love the location, always good food. Last time I went the bar tender was dressed very skimpy. She was practically nude! I didn't know whores come out during the day. Haven't returned again.

  • Frank T.

Barge burger is awesome. Fries are the best ever, and the atmosphere is good. Only complaint is slow service

    (3)
  • Mierna N.

The barge burger is the most fun meal in Olympia! Don't order it without at least 5-8 people to help eat it. I had my slice of burger with an icy beer. It was a match made in heaven.

  • Nicki P.

Rented kayaks here for a couple hours. Make sure you make reservations beforehand on summer weekends. They seemed like they needed more workers. Everyone seemed flustered and running around. Didn't really give us much info about the kayaks as we were first timers. All in all customer service was kinda sucky and kayaking was fun.

Oh my yummiest!!!!!!! Just took my mom here for lunch.... Super fresh seafood!!! Awesome servers!!!! Perfect day!!!!

I'm surprised tugboat Annie's only has 3 stars overall... My hubby surprised me by taking me here after pestering him about never taking me kayaking before. It's located in a nautical marina in Olympia. The restaurant is decked out with vintage collections of tin trays adorning the old timber rafters, model sailboats hanging from the ceiling, that sort of thing. It's cluttered with decor, in a good, tasteful way. Windows overlooking the water and marina, comfy booths. We went during the morning and enjoyed a brunch/kayaking special. More than enough food for me, and you know how I am- cheap with a big appetite! I had a veggie omelet with crispy potato wedges and a HUGE thick slice if toast. Coffee and refills came with the special :) We were allowed 2 hours to kayak. Let me tell you... On a windy day as it was, 2 hours is more than enough time to wrestle the waves! It was fun! The equipment was updated and safe, kayaking directions were clear. This was my first time doing so and it was easy peasy. We saw 2 seal pups. As we were kayaking my hubby told me to look back. I did and there was a little seal face about 2-3 yards behind me with his head popped out of the water's surface. Cute! Kinda scary... I think he raced us underwater to then meet up with us again. When we arrived back to return our gear and pay the place was way busy! So go early. Our waiter was very professional and helpful. He did an awesome job serving us and explaining things. I'd recommend it based on my experience.

Over an hour wait for food. When it came out it was cold and overall subpar. Decent waiter, but poor experience from this once good restaurant.

I would have to say this spot is a great place!! Great environment! Great service! Great food and Good Beers!! Went there on a Wednesday evening, they had Irish music playing from a live band, and not one of us (group of 4) had nothing but good things to say about the food and the beers! I would highly recommend this place to others visiting the area!

Parking is free, but the surface is uneven and littered with pot holes most likely due to rainwater and possible flooding. The interior restaurant/bar as well as the outdoor patio dining are located upstairs. The large picture windows let in a lot of light and afford patrons great views of the water. I waited a considerable amount of time as wait staff hurried by me multiple times even though the place was only 1/4 full. Fortunately, my waitress was sweet and placed me at a booth next to the window so I could see the Capitol building, water and town of Olympia. The menu had mostly burgers and sandwiches. I opted for an unusual twist on the standard turkey sandwich. This one was slathered with cream cheese and cranberry sauce spread on sourdough. I also requested the sweet potato tots to top off the casual Thanksgiving-like feast. My meal was solid and the waitress was good about refilling my ice tea and closing out my tab in a timely manner. I liked the ambience of the place with its high ceilings, funny signs, and beer and ship paraphernalia decorating the walls. If I lived here, I would probably return for kayaking and a meal or some late night entertainment on the weekend.

Went for breakfast and it was really good! Had the crab Benedict. The only thing they need to work on is there Bloody Mary.

  • Yooj N.

Friendly service and great food...their burgers are very juicy and delicious with a specially made bun just for them. The barge burger was the largest I've ever seen live in person

  • Kelsey H.

Casual place and decent food. Our waitress was nice. My bf loved his chicken sandwich and my salad was pretty good. Great little stop on the way to Seattle

  • Suzanne W.

We were in last month, even if you're up for fried food its not the best quality, but then they're not trying to be something they're aren't... It's ok for meeting friends, view and deck but the food is secondary. S. Winans

Went back again and was very impressed, I know I said I wouldn't go back in my previous post but the Oyster house burned down. So we went back again since the last time was good. This time we got ignored for about 10 minutes after the hostess seated us. We did'nt get drinks or a Hey we'll be with you shortly, so we left and went to the Bud bay cafe. This place is hit or miss and with a very limited seafood menu, I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Tugboat Annie's! its a fun atmosphere and on the water! We went here to listen to some Irish instrumental music( wednesdays 8 to 10pm) and maybe grab a drink. best long island iced tea my husband has had in years. we got some fries to share and they we cooked perfectly. we also tried the clam chowder ( which was meh) but deserts were huge and delicious. Good casual dining place. not trying to be too fancy or anything.

    (4)
  • Meghan C.

Meh. I've been here twice. I'm not a huge fried food fan. The space is pretty cool, and the view is awesome. For drinks and a few of the marina, its not so bad. The food: well, a lot of deep fried cuisine. Which is hard for me to stomach. During the summer, a great place to sit is outside on the dock. (highly recommend). Go and enjoy drinks, just not the food....

Ate hear last night. Usually do when I'm in town. Bartender was great! Food was great! Will return!!

    (4)
  • Richelle P.

Three stars only because of the drinks (they made mine nice and strong) and the atmosphere. I love the feel that the place has. The food is nothing more than you'd expect from a crapy diner. Skimp on ingredients, very plain. I've had several meals here...Even the nachos are bad

    (3)
  • Todd N.

It's pretty good, but I've had better. They view is okay, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is hit and miss. Burgers are good, Jumbalaya not the hit they profess it is. Very loud, but outdoor seating is much appreciated on hot nights. Open mic is fun.

  • Sara G.

My husband and I come here quite a bit for breakfast, which is always outstanding. Our service is usually very prompt and friendly. My only complaint is, if you are going to have windows that open and don't want your patrons to open them, then post a sign or don't have windows that open.

What happened today Tugboat Annies?!?! You are our running group's normal go-to after long runs on Saturdays. We went there today after an 18 mile run today for lunch and of course we were famished. We were told that it would be about a 35 minute wait but were willing to wait it since we know that you are usually spot on and have delicious fare to offer. About 20 minutes into our wait for a table a group of us gals that did the run hit the bar for a much needed refreshment (and I have to say the bartender gal was spot on and very attentive). The 'fail' part came when after almost an hour we were finally seated. Our waitress, who seemed to have the brunt of all the larger parties and then some, took quite awhile to make it to the table to get our drinks. It was a considerable amount of time when we noticed that she was attending to another large party that came after us and were seated about 5 minutes after we were. Not only did they receive their drinks before us, they had their order taken and the food delivered a good 20 minutes after we were still waiting for the waitress to come back and take our food order. Needless to say, we asked for our drink checks (which she still managed to get wrong) and headed over to Pints and Quarts in the mall. We should have gone on our first instinct to ditch Annie's and go to Pints. Not only did we have better service, the prices were cheaper and the food was pretty dang stellar!

  • Chika C.

Friendly staff and pretty quick. The food is okay, not amazing but good enough. I like the view, u can ask to be seated by the window. They have cool decoration for a bar. They serve mostly bar food. They have a huge burger called barge burger, if you are interested, prepare to share. The crab artichoke dip was ok, more artichokes less crab and cheese. The mushroom onion burger is good pretty standard for gourmet burger. Overall it's decent and laid back atmosphere.

TBA is a favorite for a casual date night dinner. We normally split an order of halibut and chips and each have a side Cesar. This time the board special looked appealing (steak Oscar). My expectations were low and sadly TBA was still able to disappoint. The steak was paper thin, the asparagus over cooked, hollandaise bland, the rock crab was good... the salad was still good as ever. Note to self... stick to the menu basics and you will go home happy. Prices are always reasonable and the servers always happy.

  • April J.

Beautiful View of the water. Almost always great service when I visit. The burgers are very good. This place really has very good food and the prices are reasonable. With such a beautiful view I am so happy the prices are what they are. It is a bargain.

  • Larry S.

Tugboat Annie's is on the west side but it's worth the trip. Of course "happy hour" is the best time to go. Recently I had the prime rib French dip. It was awesome! Lots of prime rib sliced just right. Service was OK. Has outdoor seating with a great view.

    (3)
  • Carly K.

I love the setting and the view. Great burgers. My husband said they had some of the best ribs of any restaurant in Olympia. Our server was also really great-attentive, responsive, friendly (but not over the top). Great!

    (4)
  • Julia R.

There are several things that I think Annie's does well, but to enjoy your visit you've got to keep it simple- sit outside if it's nice, try to visit during HH, enjoy one of the local beer options, and stick to the basics on the menu. I love the blue berry salad, and I hear good things about the burgers, however the entrees tend to not go over as well. I have visited at least a half a dozen times now, and have seen the crab cakes, chowder, pizza, nachos, etc. Some were good, some were okay, some were subpar. I had an entertainment book coupon on my most recent visit- buy one lunch or dinner entree and get one free. Great deal! I have always had good service here, though at times slow. Beautiful views pretty much any time, and a dock to walk and rent kayaks from if you are so inclined. You have to walk upstairs for seating, so this may not be a place for those who have mobility issues. Full bar with televisions showing whatever games happen to be on. Final note is that this place has different hours for summer and winter; often it is the only local spot open for a late dinner in summer (after 9 pm). Would recommend this place on any patio day with friends or out of town visitors. I plan to take advantage of the breakfast/ kayak combo some day soon :)

  • Nathan S.

I have been to Tugboat Annies a few times and usually enjoy their happy hour...well, usually. I think something has changed, because the appetizers are now only 1/3 off their regular price and cocktails are not a happy hour item. Huh? Most restaurants offer happy hour price reductions for margaritas and most mixed drinks, including beer and wine; but not Tugboat Annies. We paid $7.50 for a strawberry/colada at 3:00 PM. Ridiculous. New management/owners? I don't know. Maybe. Great, relaxed atmosphere and view of East Bay Marina. Other than that, everything else is below average. My drink wasn't even mixed properly and had chunks of ice floating around, getting stuck in my straw. The nachos we ordered weren't the best, but the portion was huge. In sum, if you enjoy overpriced happy hour drinks and large portions of mediocre nachos, then Tugboat Annies is the place for you.

So... are you hungry for a hamburger? I mean really hungry? Try the infamous "Barge Burger!" It is quite the experience. My wife and I often eat there. We find the food tasty, the service friendly and atmosphere relaxed and the view of the Olympia waterfront delightful. It's a winner in my book!

    (5)
  • Liz H.

I love this place! The food is great, the drinks are great, the service is great. Renting kayaks is easy and fun as well. Just an all around great spot. The kids always love coming here too.

  • Ha T.

Warning, this review may be a little biased, because I'm not immune to gimmicks. This restaurant has plenty of gimmicks: cute tugboat mascots, marina view, kayak rentals, and the one-of-a-kind Barge burger. The barge is a 10-inch diameter monster (with a mountain of fries) enough to feed six. The bun was made by Wagner's bakery, exclusively for Tugboat. It has a distinct fluffiness about it, very soft and cottony. It's almost too soft and thick, since it overwhelms the crispiness of the bacon. The patty is not dry, but not too juicy either. Maybe they use lean ground beef. Complaints aside, I'm pretty content with enjoying the scenery over a simple plate of fries and milkshake.

Tug boat has a great view of the sound near by boats and when it is snowing it really looks amazing. Food is good the bar is small but cozy great tv's for football season. Great with kids and has cool bands some times and cool holiday parties. Everyone should come here with there family or friends:)

  • Valerie G.

Beers on tap, decent food, nice view. If you are looking for those things, this is the place to be! Nothing too fancy, but we always love it. There is a better selection than the typical "bar food", like good salads, pizza, jambalaya, ...

    (5)
  • Graham H.

Walked in was handed menus "have a seat" she said. Waited 10 minutes bus boy walked by 4-5 times nothing. Waitress walked by nothing. We walked out!

  • Patti C.

We were pretty let down when the only gal who can make a decent margarita was no longer employed here! What? She has been there for years! What happened? We won't be back as the new bar tender can't mix a decent drink! On top of that, the food is only " so so" nothing special.. Nice waterfront view, but other places in Olympia can top TBA's any day!!

    (1)
  • Denise I.

For my husband and I, TBA is a hard habit to break! Pitcher of Mannies and an order of 20 wings usually hits the spot but the flatbread pizza is great too. We have our favorite corner booth overlooking the bay and love to watch the boaters and kayakers while enjoying our food. Usually there once a week and find the service very friendly and the food consistent. Their specials are good too so don't forget to check the specials board as you walk in. The deck is great in summer as well. Great views without getting pestered by seagulls.

Drove down from Tacoma to enjoy the waterfront so we stopped at Tugboat Annies. It was very crowded but we were seated and waited on immediately. The server was pleasant and responsive to our needs. We decided on the pitcher of Blue Moon because it was cheaper than two beers. Regretfully we could not finish it. But the beer for cold and fresh and had the traditional sweet oranges. We both had hamburgers that were ok but nothing to write home about. The fries we seasoned which is really unnecessary but they were plentiful and very hot. So all in all its a good place to enjoy a simple meal, with a cold beer, and a Puget Sound view.

  • Laguna G.

A charming, divey burger joint with a GREAT view and a bar. We have Sunday "brunch" here a lot, which is good. The mimosas are on special and, even if it's grey and cold outside, the bubbles make you happy on the inside! The food is generally fair to good, and cheap. As a rule, I myself would generally stay away from anything on the menu that is complicated or fancy. Stick to simple, and you'll do OK. Try to get a booth by any of the windows.

Second time this year and the same mess. Last time place was packed and they totally forgot about us. This time, Monday @ 5:15, no one there and the service once again sucked! The food? Blah! I had a full order of Halibut & onion rings; the cost? $20 and it SUCKED. It was not fresh at all!! Deep fried, dry and awful. The onion rings were the frozen type that once again was deep fried. No seasoning, no nothing. My fiance had the simple grilled cheese and fries and it was mediocre. Two pieces of bread with cheddar cheese. Her son ordered the Chicken Tenders and guess what? It was the frozen type, no seasoning and deep fried to oblivion. He is 16, 6'3 and always hungry and he hated this meal. Service? Our waitress never came back to refill our drinks, never. The total was $43 and I paid her with a gift certificate of $55 and she asked "do you want any change back?" I was like "Oh Yes I Do!" Crappy service with crappy food equals Crappy Tip!! Even if I get another gift certificate to this place, I will not go! They need to start doing fresh food to even think about me going back. Want local, fresh made food that is not frozen? Try Darby's in downtown Olympia. Better service & great food all freshly made.

Order: Tugboat Burger and a Chocolate Shake Burger Layout: Bun, Mayo, Bacon, Cheddar, Swiss, Ham, Egg, Burger, Pickle, Red Onion, Lettuce, Bun Cost: $17 Fries: Cold Steak Fries Tugboat Annie's Happy Hour is to die for, especially in the summer. While I can't speak very highly of coming any other time, I've had so many unique experiences that I can't bring myself to write a review based solely on one menu item which isn't very good. Sure, the burger they served me recently was overcooked and dried out... but when I think about the time my friends and I embarked on the "30 wing challenge" I can't really hold it against them. By the way... I won, 30 wings only costs $9.50 on happy hour, and my stomach would not agree that what happened that day was a "win". Tip: If you ever want to see a look of shock on a server's face, order 210 hot wings. If you want to see a look of disgust on a server's face, watch as the carnage has to be disposed of. Sure, the $6 chocolate shake I got was a strangely runny from the moment it was served and tasted just like hershey's syrup... but when I can look back on being accosted by a drunk thespian who wanted to impart her love for Hillary Clinton upon me, then a blah shake doesn't even temper my love for the place. And sure, the fries might have been cold the last time I went, but there's the time someone hit my car in the parking lot and then bought me a ton of drinks, or the time 2 friends and I split a tugboat barge burger and I thought I just might die, or the time that etc. etc. etc. I'm looking forward to another summer at Tugboat Annie's, just not planning any trips back for dinner. 2/5

Half priced apps during happy hour! Kayaking/food deals on the weekend. We've been here for dinner/lunch a couple times, but honestly- I only really have a good time when my wallet does, so I try to stick to happy hour when appzies are halfzies. ;) There's also a window where magic night and happy hour coincide. I just always forget when it is. :( Sit by the window or outside! Great views all around.

While the building is a little off the beaten path its very nice inside. We arrived early at around 3:30 pm. There was very few customers as it was a weekday before dinner but that's ok nice and quite. We were seated quickly and got our drinks fast but after that it was all down hill. The chowder we ordered was never brought to the table. Also I did get a refill on my drink however she brought gin not rum! yuck. our food finally arrived and while the food tasted good it was very under cooked. The calamari had nice flavors but was still gooey batter in the middles. Do not eat the crab cakes. I was very disappointed in the whole thing. Lack of seasoning, far too mushy, and very under cooked. Same for the beer battered shrimp mushy in the middle. Not sure why the food couldn't cook for a moment longer as there was very few guests. But all in all it ended ok. The waitress comped the crab cakes and offered to bring me a free drink but i declined. She did try very hard to aplogize so we just assume it was an off day for the cooks. But we will be back as it's one my husbands favorite spots.

We have been to TugBoat Annie's several times. In the last few months we have had less than sub par service and food. From the over cooked fish and chips, no flavor or seasoning on the salmon burger, french fries that taste to be old, to the lack of service. Whether it be can't find the server to get more napkins or having to ask for a refill on any drink. This may have been the final straw. I don't think we will be going back.

We had an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon during this unseasonably warm weather. The view is amazing. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. I love the atmosphere in the restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the parking is ample. My husband's burger was delicious looking and he loved it. I had the salad with grilled shrimp skewer on top. It was good, but the shrimp didn't taste fresh. I'm normally pretty forgiving, but given the location, there's no excuse for frozen quality seafood. Otherwise I would have given this dining experience five stars.

I went to Tugboat Annies for dinner with my daughter and my friend a few weeks ago. We arrived around 7 pm on a Thursday. We stood at the entrance for a good 5 minutes before anyone made eye contact or said hello even though several staff members passed us. Eventually someone sat us but then we waited 15-20 minutes before we flagged someone down to bring us menus and drinks. When our waitress came over she was very sweet and attentive so we thought things would get better. The food was just meh. I had a salad that had a ton of dried blueberries on it, to the point of that being the only thing I could taste. The salad was just nothing special and there are many places in town that offer really good salads. I swear the dressing was from a bottle at Safeway, it was pretty blah and boring with a weird taste. My daughter had macaroni and cheese which was decent. My friend had the shrimp basket. Shrimp seemed skimpy. The rest of it was what you would expect from deep fried shrimp and fries. Hard to mess that up. It has been several years since i have been to Tugboat Annies because the last few times I was there I was served mediocre food and received slow service. This place isnt real cheap and I just dont feel there is much value for the food or service. I wont be back.

Food is pretty good. Nothing really to write home about. But the service is great, atmosphere is cool, great beer, and everyone (including customers) are amazingly friendly. They should consider making their own beef patties and doing beer battered fish and chips.

Not the easiest place to find until you've been there. Weird gravel parking lot - if you don't dodge the puddles, you'll soak your shoe. The kitchen can be a little slow sometimes, and the fries could be better. But the view of the marina is great, the burgers are good - especially the blue cheese burger - and the beer is cold. It's a super casual place, which means you don't even have to change into your good jeans. If restaurants were meat, this place would be a hot dog. But sometimes a hot dog (figuratively speaking) is what you really want. When that mood strikes, get yourself down to Tugboat Annie's and order a blue cheese burger.

The only thing that gets me here now is sitting outside on a nice summer day. The service is just barely tolerable to worse, with the bar being particularly slow. The food is meh to not good, the portions got tiny a few years back, and the prices are way over reasonable. Be prepare to stay awhile, dont expect much, enjoy a few beers while soaking up the sun and you will be fine.

After being snuffed at hearth fire my wife and I went to dinner at tug boat Annie's. We were greated by TWO servers within 30 seconds. After being seated at a window we were greated by the manager. He was Incredibly attentive and took great care of us. The food doesn't blow me away here but I will certainly return here for the great service. Thanks and special mention to the manager.

This is one of my favorite places to sit and chill over a cold beer with friends. It has a great view (inside or out) but it's so much more laid back than other places on the water. It's refreshingly comfortable.

Just OK. Went with my mom for an early dinner at 5pm. The place was pretty empty. We were given menus right away then had quite a wait to have our orders taken. When the waitress finally came for our orders she explained that it was so slow she forgot she had customers and was chatting. Hmmmm. Ok. It took quite awhile to then get our food served and I'm assuming this same thing happened again because it arrived Luke warm. I had the Oly Prime sandwich and fries. Would have been a much better meal served hot.

I really love Tugboat Annies. They are one of the only places in Olympia that I've found has consistently good food and good service. Many times in Oly, you can find one or the other, but rarely both. I'm a fan of the burgers and onion rings. My favorite is the blue cheese and bacon. I particularly like the buns their burgers come on. I'm not a fan of the old sesame seed bun. The view is spectacular and the drinks are plentiful. I see some other Yelpers have noted the poor service, but I have personally never had an issue with service. They have always been kind and attentive. A note - good manners and a please and thank you tend to go a long way with servers.

I started going to Annies about a year ago even though the reviews made the place less than appealing. Not a hug seafood fan but I always get their BLT on Rye, which I think is the best I ever had. Drinks are reasonably priced, service is so so. Today when I went I was just supper annoyed when I left. It was totally dead In there and I just really wanted to chill out and look at the water, have a few beers and some food. I felt like I was being pushed out the door the moment I walked in. The nicest person in there was the hostess that was leaving, not even on duty, super nice to me. I order a beer and my BLT and as soon as I was finished with me food, my waitress brought me my bill and said, "are you finished?" I said, "no actually I would like another drink and a BLT to go for my hubby." It was a hot drink w/ whipped cream, she asked, "Do you want whipped cream." I said yes please. She brings me my dink while talking on the phone, and motions to me with the whipped cream can whether I want some or not. I said, "Yes please." Not once did she put the phone down!!!! Unbelievable. She then brought out my to go order and I told her, that they had the best BLT's in town, that I came with the intention of having dessert but couldn't resist! She just said, Oh' really I haven't had one in a log time." and walked away. No hey thanks a lot, we love to hear we have good food...nothing. Then as I left I said good bye, have a good one to the other waiter as he walked by me and he just said, "YEP." Wow guys I'm really sorry that I decided to come into your restaurant and bother you by making you serve me, not like I'm important or anything, you don't really need my business. Guess your doing very well since you have the attitude that my business doesn't matter to you or your pay check. Get over yourselves...seriously, the sun doesn't shin out your backsides! But sadly I will continue to go there because I love the view, they have cheep drinks and I cant get a BLT, Fries and a salad for $10, you just wont get very good tips from me, other than this one: change your attitudes your customers are important so make them feel that way.

We had there my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner there, it was quite an event, and cherish every moment of it. Apart from the astonishing view on to our Sound and OLY, this restaurant is capable to run at a high pace with a decent service and great food. Okay, I'm biased, why? I'm a Burger lova!!! Their ginormous Burger is just to my liking and deserves already for it a high rating. Just imagine that, you get a food tray, yep a food tray full with food, Burger 'n Fries. This for a very decent price. Our party was a larger group and we weren't alone, this joint was buzzing and the staff was on top of it, we didn't have to wait too long for everything. I surveyed the group members of their food choices, and everybody was just smiling about theirs that good it was. Why then only 4 Stars? Well for once, I cannot give 1/2 stars, apart of all that good stuff, their parking is a tad a mess, as this restaurant is in the proximity of a marina and so you have lots of traffice and marina residents to deal with, which makes the parking falling a tad on the wayside. Else I'd give it 4.5 stars and I know, I'll come back this weekend, so stay tuned for a updated version.

A great maritime view, cozy-funky decor, nice people, good, if not great, food at good, but not bargain prices. Beautiful on a sunny day and a cozy place to watch the weather on the water in winter. I go there fairly regularly. Off a well beaten and potholed path, up the stairs, or up a small elevator, Annie's overlooks the bay, a working waterfront, and a community of small boats. It's a favorite place to grab a late lunch and just hangout. Staff is friendly and accommodating, but occasionally slow. If you are there on a limited lunch hour, be sure to tell them up front and don't order anything too exotic. I frequently lunch there with a friend who works in the area. We generally get her back to work on time. She is wild for their burgers while I am a fan of the fish and chips (halibut or cod) and their plump, flavorful clam strips. I tried a barbecue something once and was disappointed so I stick to my favs. They season their fries with a salt mix that incorporates a touch of smoked paprika raising the institutional steak fries a cut above the norm. 4 stars because even though I like Annie's a lot, I am also a realist. It's really just a neighborhood dive, with an awesome view. (I say "dive" with the greatest respect. They often have the best atmosphere, characters, and sometimes, nice culinary surprises.)

Global warming is a sham! Every word of the Old Testament is true! The world is only an illusion! These were all the discussions I listened to on the deck of Tugboat Annies today. People in Oly crack me up with their kooky and entertaining discussions. As for me, I sat back and enjoyed my beer, the warm summer day, and the view of the Sound from the deck at the Tug. There are few better restaurants in Oly than the Tug on a warm summer day. The Tug has a great happy hour. There is half-price appetizers, including steamed clams, peel and eat shrimp, calamari . . . I ordered a huge bowl of steamed clams for only $7. It was very good. As for the drink special, to me beer is beer. But $1 off beer is better than full price beer. The Tug happy hour includes $1 off all beer and drinks. I saved $4! Sweet. In addition to the restaurant, the Tug has kayak rentals. On the weekend, they have a really unique deal that includes two kayaks for two hours, two breakfasts, and two coffees for $45. You can eat breakfast at 9:30 then take the kayaks out from 11-1 or take the kayaks out at 8:30 and have breakfast at 10:30. I haven't tried the kayaking deal but I plan to do it soon. I am a big fan of the Tug and I think you will be too.

A happy sad night. Our daughter was home from Tacoma to see her best friend off who is on her way to 27 months in the Peace Corps this Sunday. Where do you want to go? Someplace "American" because I won't be able to get that kind of food for two years. Off to TBA (Tug Boat you know who). Halibut and chips, salmon, blue cheese burger and mac and cheese. Something for all. All nicely prepared with excellent service. The dinner was paced nicely for the four of us to not be rushed, saying our bon voyages, and to enjoy that one last cheese burger. Nice crowd, not you usual Olympia ghost restaurant after 7:30. Bonus: PBR on draft. But I digress. Even though we were well fed, we still found room for Mud Pie and Banana Annie's desserts. Four spoons please. Lots more to explore on the menu for a return visit when, if ever, it stops raining and we can enjoy the deck and harbor view.

I'm not sure, perhaps the pot hole, gravel road & garbage strewn along the way should have been a clue, but I don't get what people like about this place. We chose to sit in the bar, it was a weekday afternoon, fairly busy, and the local clientele had shown up for the daily gossip. The service at the actual bar seemed decent, but if you were an "out of towner" you may as well sit in the corner and start munching on the saltine you have in your pocketbook, because the bar waitress couldn't have cared less that we were there. When asking what kind of beer was on tap, she made no effort to explain the local brews, so I ordered vodka. Who screws up a straight pour? It only took 15 minutes to get our warm drinks. Another 20 to get the greasy, salty, and miniscule portion of limp fish & chips...that we shared at the price of $15!!!! There were three rubbery, oily pieces of what used to look like cod, and 21 french fries...yes, I counted them. On the 3 times my husband asked to get a refill on his ice tea, we watched the server parade throught the restaurant refilling everyone's coffee, tea, talk story....go back to the kitchen, come out & chat with the guys at the bar.....go back to the kitchen....never actually coming back to refill the damn tea.... I'm a patient person, affable, and always open to new places. This place just did NOT give me anything positive to say. In an effort to keep the one star, I will not go into the restroom facilities, which in a word...are deplorable.. I'd recommend a road side BBQ in Uganda before going back to this place.

I was in Olympia visiting my best one and her little guy. She knows that I love a good view. We were greated by a surly woman. In reading the other reviews it seems that this is the rule rather than the exception. After we were seated we waited for our waitress who had an equally off putting attitude. My best one ordered the fish and chips and I got a bacon cheese burger. We both ordered iced tea. We watched as p eople that ordered and came after us were served first. The food came and was pretty standard. I had finished my first iced tea and moved my glass to the outside of the table.............I had to flag down Crabby McCrabpants to get a refill.............I would have liked the food more had it not have been served with the bitch sauce.

Went to happy hour one night had chicken strips. They were good. Service ok. Not great. Ordered food to go for my teen, a burger and fries. He said it was very good. Returned for lunch 2 weeks later. Had chicken strips again, but this time they were overcooked. The person that waited on us was not very warm or welcoming. There was maybe 4 to 6 people in the whole restaurant and it took her forever to come back to our table after just leaving water. I was on a lunch break. They either don't understand customers have to return to work eventually or they dont care. Nice view though. i would return for happy hour again when i have all the time in the world to wait.

My wife and I did the breakfast/kayak special here one weekend morning and really enjoyed our experience. We liked the ambiance of the restaurant, being right on the water with very eclectic, boathouse decor. There were only a couple other tables of people, which I found rather strange on a nice Sunday morning. We both got breakfast burritos with coffee. Neither the food nor the coffee were that special, but we couldn't find those views in our dining room at home. We then went and rented a double kayak for 2 hours. We paddled around Puget Sound, visited Priest Point Park, saw lots of seals, and got a good workout. We spent a total of $50 for everything, which we thought was an amazing deal considering it included the food, coffee, and kayak rental. We would definitely do it again.

To celebrate my new job we went out for a cheeseburger. We had a coupon for Tugboat Annie's from the Buy Local book (buy one entree, get up to $10 off your second entree!). We didn't realize that it would be tableside magic night! The magician, Cary Durgin (of Budd and Durgin,) arrived just as we ordered. [I chose the Bacon Cheeseburger. ~Delicious & Filling~] I would definitely return to Tugboat Annie's on some Thursday evening for dinner and a show. I'd love to go with a group of other entertainers, be they clowns, magicians, mimes, or even twisters.

An update on Annies. Went on a very busy Saturday evening. The first warm day of the year, OMG! 65 and sunny! Anyway, the service was great. Our server took orders for our table of 7 and didn't write a thing down. I'll be damned, the order came out perfectly! Stick with the bar food here (fish & chips or burgers) and you can't go wrong. Great job by the team at Tugboat Annies!

I have a love/hate relationship with Tugboat Annies. Today's lunch experience was more on the hate end of the scale. I love the food here. I often hate the service or more accurately...how slow the kitchen is. We arrived there at noon...there weren't many people there... some...but not slammed. We ordered by 12:05 and our food didn't arrive until 12:40. I joking said that they may have had to catch our fish off the dock. When the food did arrive, it was very good. I am usually a patient guy but if you are going to serve lunch in a town where many of your customers may only have an hour for lunch (including travel to and from), you need to pick up the pace.

First time to go here for lunch today. Took my mother for Mother's Day....big mistake. Her Seafood Saute was essentially tasteless, vegies were way over cooked. My crabcakes were so bad that I sent them back. The crab tasted spoiled and they were very spicy. The roulade was like a relish in a sauce. So back they went for an order of salmon....took forever to get that and by that time my mother was done with her meal. Salmon came and it was very overcooked and dry. Vegies were al dente though so that was an improvement. View is nice, but it's a very noisy establishment.

If you have low expectations, this place is great. Basically the one thing going for them is the kayak rentals. Without that, I would not consider returning. I will return, but only for a drink and *maybe* an appetizer post-kayaking. The food in general and service are enough to keep me away otherwise. Odd is the kayak check-in, which is in the restaurant. Even more odd is the way the manager-looking-lady stares at you when you hand her the kayak shed key, as if you have no business being there... A simple, "Thank you, are you staying for food?" would have been much more inviting. As for the food... just... bleh. Absolutely nothing special or really even good about the food. Even worse was the time it took for the food to arrive. The "crab melt" is some "stuff" with cheese on top, and appears toasted. It took nearly 30 minutes. They must have hand made the bread themselves. In reality, that's about a 5 minute sandwich. We sat at the bar so I was able to watch the bartender mix drinks far above the normal alcohol content the recipes require so this is the place to get your buzz on. I also watched him serve "beachy fruity drinks" without garnish. Hmm. Hey, man... at least throw a lime on. In addition, servers coming to the bar for their tables' drinks, would grab straws at the top (ew) and plop them in glasses. Sanitation? The amount of staff working was borderline obnoxious. Yet, very few of the staff actually seemed to be doing something. A bunch of 19 and 20 year olds running the place is what it looked like. Or a high school/ college fashion competition. That might explain the mediocre food and service. If it weren't for your kayaks, Annie's, I wouldn't be returning.

Tugboat Annie's is a great place to go if you have a large group. 3 adults could split the barge burger and feel full. I love going in the summer to go kayaking and then sit outside for beer and nachos. Thursday is a great time to go listen to some good music by the Oly Mountain Boys. The coconut prawns are my favorite dish. Definitely go here to watch the sun set over the sound in the evening.

I'm not from the west side of things, so I was in awe of the view this place had. Essentially we were on the equivalent of a roof deck with a clear view of the mountains and the calm bay. I can see why this place wouldn't get high marks, and if I was a local, I probably wouldn't sing as many praises. There's not a lot to it. I had the crab melt on sour dough. It really should have been called the artichoke dip that crap found its way into on a slab of toast. I had such high hopes and it just didn't really pan out. Someone else had the salmon burger and I was good with that. Maybe I just got the wrong thing at a cool place. Ah well...

  • Jorge M.

The view was amazing! I had the water and mountains, as for the service, wish it would have been as spectacular. I'm not sure if it's management or the servers just don't care but everyone was running around like they had their heads chopped off! More or less it was the most chaotic thing I've witnessed in a long time. What's worse is that the place was not even busy. However once you get past the service you come to the prices and the food. They simply don't match up. I had the crab cakes and they weren't that good. The fries were, but not the main dish. I guess they are known for their burgers (yes that's right, burgers on the water- go figure). Coming from a Chicago dinning experience I can't say that Tugboat Annies is worth the price they lay on the table.

I've always been rather underwhelmed with my experiences at Tugboat Annie's, but this most recent time I went I didn't have a good time at all! Read on if you'd like to hear about it.... We went for a work lunch, and I'm a vegan, and my considerate co-workers had consulted me asking if Tugboat Annie's would be a safe choice. I checked out their menu online, and seeing two vegan dishes (though, suspiciously enough, the black bean burger that had been labelled vegan on previous editions of the menu was not listed as vegan any longer...hmmm....) I said it sounded like a great idea. One of the items I didn't want anything to do with--a coconut burger with pineapple, lettuce and tomato on top--just doesn't sound tasty to me. However, there was a pasta dish on the menu with Field Roast sausage that sounded great, despite its inflated price ($14? Seriously?) When we got there I was informed by our rather rude waitress (and it's not just me, others at the table were complaining about her demeanor) that they were out of the pasta. I was fine with that, I asked if there's anything else there that is vegan, or could be made vegan. She said that they have a black bean burger. I said, "Is it vegan?" She said no. I asked if there was anything else, and she said that I could order a salad. Since I don't trust that they will have tasty vegan dressings to offer up, and since I don't want to order a pile of non-organic greens and pay an inflated price for them, I decided to have nothing. Just water, thanks. On the way back to the office I grabbed a vegan calzone from Vic's and enjoyed every bite! The non-vegans I was with had ceasar salads, and a few of them had burgers, and they seemed to enjoy them. One of the neighboring tables ordered a terrifyingly huge hamburger that was larger than a frisbee...don't know what was up with that. Needless to say, though, I won't be giving the thumbs up to a work lunch at Tugboat Annie's again.

This place is beautiful and has amazing views. 1 star for this. I came here with a bunch of friend's for a 4 year olds birthday dinner. We ordered the giant burger that comes on a cafeteria style tray with French fries, and for a few bucks more we got onion rings as well. The fries were so cold, and maybe I'm being picky but I like my onion rings with some crunch but that certainly wasn't the case. After dropping off the food our waitress didn't come back for a very long time. We ended up eating most of the cold French fries but when the waitress finally came back we told her and she brought us a new basket of hot fries. 1/2 star for no obvious loogies. They brought out ice cream for the kid's birthday but no ridiculous sing accompaniment which is another 1/2 star. I ended up having to walk home from downtown later that evening and I have to say thank god for bayview thriftway having a bathroom and being open late. Since the Internet is a public place all I'm going to say is that the food from tugboat annie's did not agree with me and I'm sorry for whoever had to use that bathroom next.

The only time you want to visit Tugboat Annie's is when the sun is out and the place fills up with chatty outdoorsy folk. (On grey days it can be slow and rather depressing.) Great views of the marina and the Bay out toward the Sound. A deck of picnic tables for outdoor seating during warm weather. Most servers are very attentive and friendly. The burgers are quite good. Fries are uninteresting - the frozen steak fry variety. Fish and chips are mediocre, can be over-breaded and bland. I would avoid ordering anything fancy. They've got a cocktail menu with mojitos etc listed. As with the food menu, you should stick with your basics here. Beer is your best bet actually. The beer pour is what these bartenders know best.

Our first choice for a family dinner. Dinner for the wife was the 'special' cod and I ordered the Jambalaya. The kids had the kids meal mac n cheese. The parking lot was a little full due to a party in their party room but we were fortunate to find someone leaving. Dinner for us adults was good and worth the price. Our children's dinner was a little spicy...tasted by my wife. Thus the kids didn't gobble it down like they do at home. Service was a little slow at times for the amount of servers in our area and crowd in the up stairs dinning room...in fact, my wife who never complains said "they must be catching my fish". This might be the attitude, "let the people be" but we could have a couple more walk by's by our server. Regardless....four stars for the adult meal...which my youngest son ended up liking the cod. Three stars for the slow service from servers and the kitchen. Good food though.

I've been to Tugboat Annie's four times and it has been very consistent each time. I appreciate consistency in a restaurant. It seems some of the local restaurants lack that - great sometimes and abysmal others. Anyway, the restaurant is casual, it is fun with a group of girlfriends, on a date, or with your kids. It is spacious - you don't feel like you're eating dinner right next to complete strangers. And the bartender is super friendly. Their food is good - standard bar food. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it is very decent. The view is good and I like the vibe here.

This place has some great food and a really nice view of the water on the west side of Olympia. If my waitress hadn't smelled like smoke a time or two I went in there this would have been a 5 star review. This was just one waitress though, the others were fine.

My son and I decided to stop for a beer and after getting told at the Oyster House the bar was closed (@9:15 when the restaurant closes @ 10:00) we remembered Tugboat Annie's and were really glad we did. Annie's has a great workingman's bar ambiance with a decent selection of draft beers, a nice view out the back bar windows of downtown and the Capitol , a really decent selection of liquors, and some great pub grub. After we saw an order of nachos come out to another table and decided to split an order. It came out a huge pile of chips, melted cheese, black beans, chiles, tomatoes, onions, and ground beef (which was $2 more) that we munched on then brought home enough for a great midnight snack. The guy next to us had the Cheeseburger which he said was great (and looked good too) and came with a huge pile of steak fries. All in all a nice dive, good draft beer, good pub grub, good selection of classic rock on the sound system and ESPN on the TV. We'll be going back for sure!

What's not to like? The food is good pub chow. The enviro is great. If you can get a table by the windows, all the better. And, the Irish music on...(Wednesday?)night is lots of fun. The patio is great too.

Ugghhh! This place isn't worth your time... It took forever to get the four of us our first set of drinks, and for the second round of drinks, we were practically done with our meals before we got them. The menu is ok... typical marina bar food. My friend and I had a salad with Chicken on it... nothing special, but the salads came out with NO chicken on it and she forgot my dressing that I asked for on the side. So we sat there with the boys eating already for about 7 or 8 minutes and we had 2 salads, no chicken, and one with no dressing. WHO DOES THIS? The boys got a big Ol' Enchilada (looked like a burrito to me) with rice, that was damn good, and a club sandwich, with clam chowder. Both guys said theirs was good. The place was a little grimey. And the lady that sat us was very nasty. I was already outside on the deck eyeing a table that had opened up and I was waiting for a server to come out so I could ask if my group could sit there.. this particularly nasty woman comes out so I ask her and she was like, "Ummm no, this is for XXXXX, are you XXXXX, you have to wait your turn!" I was like umm actually that is my friend's name and I didn't know she was here already, yes I will be sitting here!" (It ended up that she arrived before us and requested a table outside already, come to find out it was the one I was eyeing) She did NOT have to be so snotty about it. The beer was good, the only thing they didn't mess up. It was a nice view out on the water and great weather, This was the only good thing about this place!

I am so glad that I read the other reviews. I thought that maybe they just hated us when we went to this place. Now I realize that they treat lots of people that way. My 2 kids, wife and I visited Annie's for dinner one time when we were in the neighborhood. We were seated at a booth and then it took them 40 minutes to take our order! Many other people were waited on and received food in that time. I went up to the greeter several times to try to get service but it still took that long. The food is mediocre but the service is terrible beyond belief. And I doubt that telling the owner would do any good because I have a feeling they like it that way. We will certainly never go near them again.

Great atmosphere, very family friendly and lots of fun stuff on the ceiling/walls for kids and adults alike to look at. The waterside location is great.

The service may be hit or miss but it's always friendly. Decent bar food, great happy hour specials, and the coldest beer around. Best place to be on sunny days.

This place is amazing, if you go when its not too busy that is. The food is always fresh and hot, good variety of beers and drinks too. Has a good kids menu and prices. Only downfall is the wait for a table on a busy night and/or being ignored by server when they are over loaded. Also very nice view and outdoor seating.

We've been to Tugboat's many times over the years. Today, we may have to think twice (or more) about ever returning. The sun was shining as we headed into the bar, enjoying the great view as always. It wasn't extremley busy, almost everyone in the bar had already been served their food. We waited several minutes before the server waited on us. We placed our drink order and she brought us menus. It was all downhill from there. She proceeded to yammer with the patrons at the bar (we were in a booth) while washing glasses. Not even a glance our way, as we were ready to order our lunch. She went into the kitchen to bring out a meal for four people sitting over from us. They commented on their long wait and she copped an attitude and told the gentlemen that she was very busy, he said something back and she actually put her finger up at him and rudely said she was very busy. This was not true she was just washing glasses behind the bar and not waiting on anyone. Another couple were sitting waiting for her to wait on them and she again told them she was very busy. After waiting for 23 mins. for her to take our lunch order we decided we'd heard enough. As we went to leave she feebly asked if we wanted another drink!! She clearly should not be working here and the owners should be aware of the horrid customer service she was providing. In the past we have always enjoyed our meals and service at Tugboat Annie's, we even have friends who want us to go there with them, since they've never been. Hmmm, will have to think about that a long time first.

Wish they had happy hour all week. All appetizers half price for happy hour *except Manila Clams. Damn thats what I wanted too. The beef quesadillas I had instead were unremarkable, but went down easy as I was starving. This place is located off the beaten path, which I thought was cool. I like the view here, and the ocean water fart smell that you secretly like while walking in. Bar tender was busy when I was there, but she did a good job. I sorta like this place for some reason, feels kinda cozy inside. Staff were good to me, but then again I'm not too demanding when ordering a cheap sandwich and a few beers. Everything I've ordered pretty much sucks as far as food goes, but its edible. You might sit next to some demanding yuppie on one side and a crusty fisherman on your other. I hate watching people get demanding with waitstaff over cheap-ass food. A bit too yuppie for my taste overall. I give them 3 stars for the soul fact that there is nothing else there where they are!! haha! I'll be back.

Ive given up on this place and will never return. The service is consistently deteriorating to the point we have walked out after waiting over 20minutes for someone to at least acknowledge us (and it wasn't that busy, many empty tables). The food is horrible, I found a hair in my breakfast dish the management didn't seem to care. The hot wings are slimy the hamburgers are dry and overcooked. After I stopped eating there I still continued to just rent kayaks, but recently I nearly injured myself on the dilapidated and treacherous dock that has been severely neglected. I am shocked someone hasn't gotten hurt or an inspector hasn't forced them to make repairs. For a better outdoor experience and if you like a professional wait staff and management go to Hearthfire Grill. They have a better Happy hour selection with much better prices and the food is consistent. For a better all around kayak experience go to Boston Harbor. Cheaper prices, the boats are in better condition and cleaner (Tugboats kayaks smell bad) Much better pricing nicer owners and especially for safety purposes if nothing else.

The cod fish and chips were awesome. The view of the sound is spectacular. Very family friendly and the prices were great. Will totally be back.

Clam strips were big and good. Service was not. Burger was undercooked, order was wrong. Not somewhere I would eat again. You live and learn.

The burgers are awesome and the drinks are great! I've been a few times and, unfortunately, each time the service has been slow. They're just a little bit pricey but I'll be back for more just not frequently.

Been twice now for dinner. LOVE the location. First night we had mussels for an app and they were tasty. My salmon entree was cooked will but a bit bland. Last night I had a blackened chicken sandwich (lettuce wrapped as I'm breaded out right now). TASTY and ohhhhhh Mama likey those sweet tater tots! Hubby enjoyed both his meals as did our kiddo. No complaints on service either time. Looking forward to going back to try out the breakfast/kayaking special.

I love this place! Definitely a must stop for me whenever I'm home visiting! The chowder is the best in town!! Also, Amy is a wonderful! We always sit in her section and she makes us feel like family! Not to mention the view!! Amazing!

Stopped in here with family this weekend. Ordered their Fish And Chips (halibut) and caesar's salad. I think the fish was frozen, but pretty good and I know their fryer oil was fresh because the batter was a nice and crisp gold color. The salad was so-so... Overall 4 Star experience Setting 4 Friendly service 4 Food 3
