I guess it's hard to have high expectations for a buffet but the one I went to in Tampa was pretty good. This place is hit and miss. First time was good but last time was meh. The chicken tasted funky and the turkey was really dry. Mashed potatoes and the dessert bar were awesome.

Pleasantly surprised. Decent ribs and steak, full salad bar, amazing bread and fun dessert.

I used to live in Texas, where Golden Corral has a strong presence. As such, I hope to give a more objective review. Here we go: Summary: Golden Corral is an Americana restaurant serving about 80% "comfort food", the kind of old-fashioned home cooking many of middle America would remember from a by-gone time: meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken, steak, chops, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes, white rice, and gravy....don't forget the gravy! The Golden Corral model is that of a casual family-oriented self-serve buffet with a vast selection of entrees, side dishes and desserts from which to choose. Ambience and fine cuisine give way to variety and a family-friendly atmosphere. Food: When you are maintaining a hot and fresh (as possible) selection of over a hundred buffet food items, exquisite quality is RELATIVE. Will you find the kind of food you would expect at Steak & Ale? NO! But you will find surprisingly good quality considering the sheer volume and breadth of the menu. Only some items set out in the service line will qualify as "great" or "perfect". Also, remember that one man's "greasy" is another man's "juicy" or "succulent". Like any restaurant, you never know until you try. And try we did. We found the overall selection to be well above standard, falling somewhere between full service dining and fast-casual. Highlights were the pot roast (haven't found a Golden Corral who got this one wrong yet!), mashed potatoes, bourbon street chicken, and (surprisingly) the fresh grilled sirloin available in rare, medium-rare, and medium. I imagine they will grill more on the well done side if you ask and are willing to wait. I say "surprisingly" on the steak because it was very tasty, rich in beefy grilled flavor, and more tender than I'd ever expect from a buffet grill (not perfect, but one of the better steaks I've had...EVER!). Everything else fell somewhere between okay and good. The only downfall was the desserts. Cakes and pastries are pre-sliced and set out on a counter where they tend to dry out and lose their fresh-baked moistness. I also wasn't a big fan of the grilled link sausage, which tasted more like a mystery meat hot link than true beef & pork sausage. Service: To judge service, judge yourself. This is a buffet! However, I will point out that the wait staff that does maintain the dining room were quick to keep our drinks full and used plates cleared. They were also quick to address any messes and spills (will get to that in a minute). Kitchen staff kept the fresh food coming and the service lines wiped down. You cannot keep EVERY countertop clean and full 100% of the time on a bustling Friday dinner rush, but they kept up quite well. Even more popular items (steaks and fried chicken) were refilled with little down time (less than 5 minutes). Ambience: This particular location in Marysville has a wide open, simple layout with large front and rear dining rooms centered by the buffet area. The buffet lines all fall against one wall that separates the kitchen from the rest of the restaurant. Tables are typically small, cheap 4-seaters that staff will help you rearrange for larger crowds. Let me point out to those of you who have been to a Golden Corral in other locations: this is smaller than most GC restaurants. Their buffet selection may seem a bit smaller than what you are used to. Also, the dessert area will seem sub-par in comparison to other GC locations. Food quality is still as good as you'd expect. This place caters HEAVILY to families, and that means a buffet line full of kids racing to the pizza, mac&cheese, and those three fountains of gooey chocolate goodness. Therein also lies nearly the only reason you might find this location to be messy. Kids make a mess and employees can do only so much to keep up with that mess in a mealtime rush without imposing on current patrons. Be patient. We all were kids once. And when the Brady Bunch is gone and they clear the tables, they clear the floors, the seats and the high-chairs full of ice cream as well. Price: You can expect to pay $10-13/person depending on the night you go. Weekends are a little pricier to reflect the addition of an expanded seafood selection on the bar, which is fair, and not bad for buffet fish! Children 12 and under eat for less (I believe around seven-ish). Call ahead....children 3 and under might be free (with adult purchase of course). I call this place a good value that will cater to multiple palates. In closing, I don't call this a fine dining experience by any measure of the word. Do NOT take your date to this place. haha Do, however, load up the family and enjoy some occasional, artery-clogging, carb-laced, grandma's kitchen, old fashioned food. Nothing is perfect about this place, but it is pretty good for what it is, a huge buffet!

It is, what it is: a terrific buffet. The choices were many, the service was excellent ( thank you Josh), and the charge was under 10 bucks! Can't be beat, around the Sound.

This place has a pretty good buffet. It definately tastes much better than Old Country Buffet in my opinion. The deep fried shrimp, fish and chicken is bomb I highly recommend it. The mashed potatoes are real and not just the add water type deal. There are soo many different types of desserts that could please anyones sweet tooth. The cons: I've been here 4 times already and I've noticed the people that come here and work here look really dirty. I'm not trying to be mean but when I'm eating I can't help but notice how patrons eat here. They act like food will dissapear of the face of the earth or something and stuff their face. All the employees here have that trashy/dirty look to them and I want whomever that prepares my food to look somewhat clean. One of the waitress ladies had an open wound (not cut) on her arm when she grabbed my empty plates which made me loose my appetitie. The place definately has a greasy feel to it which kinda throws me off a little. Most people that come here are either white people, mexicans or canadian asians. I would only drop by if I was shopping at the outlets or headed north, but I wouldn't make the trek up here just to eat.

it is the best of all the american buffets I have been to I have traveled from Bellingham to Marysville just to eat here. I like the fact they grill steak for you to preferred taste and have a wide variety of choices service is ok but I never really think too much of it it is a challenge to give bad service at a buffet as all they do is clear plates and in some cases bring drinks this being said my dishes were taken and my cup kept full. i will be eating here again.

My family and I drove an hour and twenty minutes to visit this location because we kept seeing the commercials on television and everything always looks so good on TV. When we arrived, the line was outside. We had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. It was interesting that one side of the restaurant was quiet and the other was kind of loud and crowded with people sitting and standing everywhere. Unfortunately, my family was seated on that side of the restaurant. But I digress. Honestly, the food was just okay. I am glad that I didn't drive my car all the way up there and that I let my sister drive. The yeast rolls weren't warm. They were good but not warm. The greens were not seasoned at all. Greens and onions. Period. The beans were good. Everything was just okay. I didn't see the yummy looking chicken wings that are often advertised in the commercials anywhere sadly. The service staff was great though. They were very nice and super attentive. The bathroom was clean as well which was a plus. It just wasn't what I thought it would be as a first time visitor.

First time customer at Golden Corral and I found a hardened piece of cake in my cake! Then found another hard black thing in my salmon :( My friend found a piece of hair in his nachos. The food taste good but I would rather have MSG in my food than a hard black piece thing or hair in my food.

Ok, I really like this place. I love the salad bar and the dessert bar! This place is excellent for bringing kids out to eat and great for a casual place to eat and enjoy your company. My 8 year old nephew is able to help himself and I am able to see him from almost anywhere we sit if he wants to go get more food on his own. The cheese burger sliders have been under cooked a few times and the mac n cheese could be more flavorful otherwise the food is pretty good for a buffet. This Golden Corral has been cleaner than others I have been to over the years. A very big negative is the over crowded environment. The parking lot is very full durring dinner and it is not uncommon for the line that switchbacks inside to go outside all the way out to the parking lot. When you finally make it inside be prepared to be loudly barked at by the female manager. She comes off as rude a lot of the time but while dining she is very nice. I think she's over looking politeness when things get busy, stressed, and people are impatient in line.

Last night made the third time visiting this location. The Southern Fried Chicken is always consistent every time. The best way I can describe it is that it's well cooked but still juicy on the inside, with a crispy crunchy outside that's tastes so yummy! Of course, being a buffet, there were lots of entree and side dishes. In fact, so much that anyone would be hard pressed to sample them all. Meatloaf, Roast Chicken, Pot Roast of Beef, BBQ Ribs, Broiled Tender Steak, etc., etc., etc. Shrimp, Clams, Fish, etc. the list just goes on and on. Oh, they also offer Prime Rib on weekends. It was also juicy, tender and so delicious! I had two slices of this medium rare roast with Au jus. I was being really naughty! Our waitperson, Brandy, kept our drinks full and quickly took away empty dishes so we'd have room for more. For around $12, less for kids and Seniors, it's a deal that allows tight budgets a night out.

The food is okay! Have a variety of things to pick from . Bourbon chicken was good . Got the lobster tail it over cooked and rubbery . Shrimp was good. Great tarter sauce . Onion rings were cold. The salad bar was wonderful. Never made it to the dessert bar. I was stuffed. My server I think her name was sarah very attentive despite how busy it was. Recommend this place for large groups or families. There is something for everyone. They could pay attention more to the bathrooms. They were terrible.

Golden Corral is great for kids. They have the awesome chocolate fountain, and tons of desert selections. But, as an adult, I found the food to be just meh. Perhaps fresher than Old Country Buffet, but I would much rather have the food cooked and sent to my table. I will totally give them huge kudos for more diabetic options in the dessert part. I enjoyed a sugar-free mocha cake, and noticed a couple of other options available. I think for the amount of selections you get, it's an awesome deal, and I love that you have waitstaff who refill your drinks instead of having to navigate through the crowds to get to the beverage dispenser. My son loved the selection, the fact that he could get his own food, and the dessert selection. I would definitely recommend Golden Corral for a family outing, but I don't think it's exactly the place for a romantic dinner date.

If you are familiar with Golden Corral, this one will disappoint you. Their delicious signature dinner rolls are just bleh here. In a word (okay, several words,) this location is nothing like the ones in the south. But other than just being mediocre, there are two things that made me knock this from a 3 star review down to a 2 One time we were there eating and the owner was talking with someone he knew, maybe a regular, maybe a friend, and he was talking about serving cat. As a cat lover, I found this highly offensive. As a diner, I found it disgusting. As a consumer, I found it to be in horrifically poor taste for the owner of all people to be doing that. The second issue is the way it's laid out. You can't approach the food from both sides, so everyone has to get in a single line. If they are busy, which they are on weekends nearly always, this means standing in line to get food. Not a huge deal for the first trip, but say you want to just go back for some butter? Be prepared for glares if you cut in line, or just get in line again while your food gets cold. The layout of other buffets makes much more sense As a side note, stay away from their "Chocolate Wonderfall." Children think it's great to stick their fingers in it and lick the chocolate off. Repeatedly. That chocolate just goes round and round with all the germs people stick in it throughout the day. Kids do unsanitary things to buffet food sometimes, but nothing is as tempting as this item which gets repeatedly molested by groups of kids.

*4 Stars only because it's wayyyyyyyyy in the cuts! This buffet is hella good!!!! Steak, BBQ, grilled cheese sandwiches, huge baked potatoes, biscuits, rolls! fuck! There's so much food here I never know what to do with myself lmao.... it's far but I definately thinks its worth the drive! This place shits on old country buffet.

I would give this place 5-stars but the customers and workers here kind of... scared me. I felt like I was walking in Zombie Land. But anyways this is probably one of the best buffets that I've been to. $13 for dinner and everything was DERICIOUS.

After reading some glowing reviews about this buffet, I took the kids on our way to Seattle, mostly because they'd never seen a chocolate fountain, and I thought it would be fun. My 10 year old said the smell was unpleasant, (ok, those weren't his exact words), and that he didn't want to eat here. I have to admit, the mixture of aromas from the variety of foods wasn't incredibly appetizing, but it wasn't anything horrible. The people were friendly, and it was pretty much a standard mall style buffet. There were quite a few choices, but the food had been sitting out, and was fairly dried out. The ham was particularly dry, and there was some seasoned chicken fingers that were extremely salty. The dessert counter was kind of a mess, and I understand in a busy buffet, it's impossible to keep things beautiful, but it didn't appear anyone was trying too hard. There were slices of pie on plates that were just a pile of filling with chunks of crust. Again, fairly standard buffet fare. The tables are particularly close together, so if people don't sit close to the table, you can't get through. For a regular restaurant, this isn't so bad, but for people making repeated trips to the food, it takes away from the experience. I can't really bash the place, but I do wonder what the people who had rave reviews think is a bad dining experience. We left not hungry, but not impressed. The kids thought cotton candy at a restaurant was really cool, but then said... this isn't very good cotton candy... "Dad... how can they mess up cotton candy?" There's nothing horrible about the Golden Corral, but nothing exceptional about it either. It's a LOT of food, at a reasonably low price. Personally, I'd rather have less food that tasted better.

Golden Corral is like Disneyland for fat people. A salad bar (green stuff is for sissies), steak and seafood made to order, and a dessert bar that would make Willie Wonka Blush--are all awaiting you. The addition of the chocolate fountain where you can--no kidding--coat everything in a layer of chocolate is the proverbial icing on the cake (or chocolate covering on the already icing covered cake as the case may be). Dining with a Senior citizen? No problem, Golden Corral starts serving dinner at 3pm. Be aware, though, they get crowded pretty fast. It's best to get there by 2:45 so you can stil be home in time for Wheel of Fortune. Seriously, though, this is one of the cleaner all-you-can-eat buffets (or all-you-care-to-eat buffets for you p.c. hippies) I've ever gone to with an exceptionally friendly staff. A good place to shovel plate upon plate of tasty goodness into your gullet.

Went there for afternoon lunch today and all I saw were old people. It was like a retirement community feeding frenzy. It was probably because they have an early bird hours from 2 to 4 pm for a cheaper price than full price dinner. The food wasn't bad and the overall quality and atmosphere is better than OCB for an AYCE. The service was adequate as our empty plates were always taken and drinks were served promptly.

I've seen the commercial for this place often on TV, however being from San Francisco the closest chain is quite far (Tracy, CA). I'm not too impressed by it but the price is quite good. This place is quite small for a buffet. They also have "to go" price of less than $5 for a 4 pnd. plate, My aunt tells me she buys the cooked steak here for that price, which i say is a very good deal.

  • Queen T.

The food was good. The place was (most;y) clean. The prices were good. I wish there were one closer to Seattle. Last time I was there they allowed some homeless people in- the blood on the clothing and obvious dirt on their hands that was enough for me to leave...... eww!

  • James M.

Gross, Gross, Gross... This place is crazy busy. I don't understand why. The food was cold, and just nasty. The service was slow and we sat there the whole meal without our drinks being refilled. The dessert bar was not clean; and what ever you do, DO NOT eat the chocolate cake. There is a large parking area, however be careful it is really hard to drive around. The bathroom was clean.. So one star for that.

This is a awesome restaurant it reminds of the "South". The customer service is good, prices are cool, and of course the food is fresh and ready to eat. It does get busy and full really quick due to the fact that this is the only Golden Corral in WA state. Oh! the desserts are fantastic by the way. So, come and enjoy but remember it's always full of people that are hungry and ready to eat.

A very nice buffet and per the advertising they offer all you can eat pork ribs which were very good. The steak on the other hand is a poor cut and chewy even at medium rare. Seafood was definitely overcooked or left in the fryer too long. Love the home style mashed potatoes, cabbage, and green beans. I'd give them a 4 except the Golden Corral's in Texas are both bigger and better... I've been to better and worse Old Country Buffets in WA.

My friend recommended this place so I came here a couple of weeks ago- it's a buffet, what did I expect?? I've never been to a BBQ buffet, but as with every other buffet, the food isn't as good as it would be in a restaurant (or maybe Vegas). Here are the highlights: - $10.99 all you can eat, drinks sold separately. - Super busy - Food is self-serve (unless you go through the steak/rib line, where someone will serve you) although the waiter that brings fresh drink refills. - The ribs that were apart of the self-serve line were dry and jerky-like from sitting out too long/being overcooked. - Most extensive dessert selection I've seen from a buffet in WA. - My favorite: the yeast rolls Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to enjoy their food, so maybe I'm just picky...But then again, what else is there in Marysville??

    (2)
  • Vida H.

Good... for the money you spend! The fresh baked rolls are the BEST! The steak is well seasoned but if you're looking for high quality meat for this price, you're probably not going to find it. The popcorn shrimp and tarter sauce is another favorite. If I only lived closer, I would go at least once a month... just for the fresh baked bread and a couple other favorites! MY COMPLAINTS: a women brought in her "large" service dog in - they walked by while we were eating and the dog started shaking his coat of hair right in front of my table. I know service dogs are allowed in public places but come on... there has to be limits or boundaries right? I think the women could have done something to prevent this from happening or think ahead a bit... put a cloth of some kind over the dog so that his dander , fleas and hair don't shake off into peoples eating space. Since there are dog owners out there who don't mind their dog eating at their table, I think the restaurants then have the responsibility to put some guidelines in place. Also, the bathrooms could use a deep cleaning.

Food was not good. Went for lunch and was really disappointed in the quality. I went due to lots of good Yelp reviews because there were so many people that were saying it was really good, unfortunately this time...I should not have listened to Yelpers. They let me down. The food looks tasty when you walk in. It's displayed nicely and looks like it'll be pretty good, but then when you go to actually serve yourself up, most of it looks like it's been out on the trays a while or doesn't even look edible. Most of the meat is not very warm. We were also the youngest people there by at least 30 years, which was really awkward. This is definitely grandma and grandpa's joint! wouldn't ever eat here again. It got 2 stars because at least the food I did eat didn't make me sick and the server was great.

Eh, I'm not a big buffet food fan and this place just happens to be crawling with what appears to be "regulars". People are pushy and overweight and greedy and I just want to yell "don't worry....there's enough mac 'n' cheese to go around!". I probably won't ever come back here even though their salad bar DOES have a lot of choices. The food is just OK and I could probably cook better food myself at home for a lot cheaper.

first of all. keep in mind that this is a BUFFET In Marysville - not exactly the mecca of ritzy upscale dining. however, i was very suprised the first time i came here with my wife! we came in on a friday evening before heading to the casino and immediately saw the parking lot jam packed and when we entered the restaurant, there was a large line. i felt like i was lining up to ride a rollercoaster! FOOD: very good. the food was suprisingly very tasty! i've been to several buffets here and there, and the food served at golden coral is very good in quality - as far as buffets are concerned. you can tell there's effort put into what they offer. i can not go back to an OCB again. there's just no comparison! SERVICE: good. for how busy and packed the place was when we were there, the service was very nice. we had a person walk us to our seats and our server was very polite and prompt with taking our dishes and refilling our drinks! VALUE: good. i think this place is good restaurant for those who love nice hearty southern food. it's as close to good southern soul food as i can say. i would definitely reccommend this place to people and will go again... and again!

I adore Golden Corral. Growing up in the midwest it was my favorite place to eat as a kid as a reward for good report cards. Then I forgot all about it until I saw a commercial for it about 2 years ago. When we arrived it was like a wormhole to Missouri circa 1992, down to the dusty silk plants and the back room permanently reserved for Elks meetings on Thursday nights. Most importantly the food tasted the same as I remembered. My husband had never heard of a Golden Corral before but he agreed it was awesome. They have the softest dinner rolls, creamy mac n cheese, huge salad bar, and everything tastes exactly how it should, nothing fancy. It's what America tastes like. Thankfully we only go occasionally when we go up to the outlets.

As a frequent OCB customer because I live in Lynnwood and never knew a Golden Corral existed until Yelp. I must say that I am very impressed with this place. We drove up to Marysville from Lynnwood two weekends ago on a Saturday night. We arrived at 5:30PM for dinner and there wasn't a line yet, however the place was packed. Unlike OCB, you have to pay for drinks separately and it's not included in the price of the buffet. For two us, it came to a little over $28.00 dollars which by the end of dinner, we both thought was a steal for all that you get. First things first, there is a steak bar, where a guy stands behind the grill who will grill your beef to your specification. The mashed potatoes are HOME MADE, compare that with OCB. This place is a steak lovers paradise, don't expect the MET quality but for the price you'll pay here, you won't be disappointed. They also have grilled chicken, pizza, pasta/salad bar and the typical other selections at dinner buffets. My recommendation is to go early, by the time we left at 7:00PM, there was close to 30 people in line waiting to get in. Good food, loud atmosphere, great prices. We will be back the next time we're in the neighborhood. Maybe it's a good reason to make a trip to the Tualip outlets this weekend, I do need a pair of running shoes! :)

Read reviews and thought we would try this place. When we were walking from the parking lot we saw an employee using his bare hands to take raw food garbage out of a kitchen size garbage can and sort through it and toss pieces into the main dumpster...which smelled putrid as we passed it headed for the front door. Inside we all (there were 4 adults and 2 kids) noticed the floor was a bit sticky and we also saw employees touching food with their hands. At the cash register the first employee we met looked as though she had not showered that day...wrinkled clothes and nasty dirty looking hair, although she was somewhat friendly. After we got our drinks, which I wondered if the glasses were really clean, we found a table and discovered it was sticky. The seating is very close together and getting up to get food and coming back we kept bumping into people who were at the tables around us, as they bumped into hs too. The food selection is in deed vast, but the pastas were all squishy day old drivel that the kids refused to eat, the meats were mostly very fatty and greasy, the deviled eggs tasted gross, most of the cooked vegetables were way over cooked and the cucumbers were all mostly suffering from frost bite, the raw spinach was good but the rest of the salad bar was suffering, the pizza was cardboard and the baked potatoes were like rocks. The dessert bar was a hit as was the chocolate fountain and the cotton candy. The waiter who bussed the tables and brought drink refills was nice enough but the kids were intimidated by his arms covered in tattoos and I had to flag him to get our drinks refilled. The noise level was really loud and we all were happy to leave. Overall, this restaurant seemed dirty, the employees rather unkempt, the food was sub standard and the seating was crowded and it was way too noisy. The outside dumpster should be unseen and employees need to wear gloves and stop the touching food with their hands. Employees should be more presentable and floors and tables should be CLEAN, the bathrooms were gross according to the kids. The kids said they don't ever want to go back. You get what you pay for..don't recommend unless of course the cheap prices makes all the other stuff doable for you. It doesn't take that much to keep a place clean and have employees make themselves clean and presentable .....don't know how to improve on the food...cheap is cheap..but the hygiene factor is a real issue with me.

The commercials put it out to be this amazing buffet, gettting excited about it turned into a disappointment, although it was a pretty good price, great for kids. Super tiny, and crowded. The size of an arby's. Not the biggest selection for foodd. A bunch of fried shtuff. Everything was pretty bland. the teryaki steak and mash potatoes were good, can't really go wrong with mashed tatters. The dessert wasn't even that good. The fondue fountain was cool with macroons and my bf and I had fun eating the cotton candy, but that's about it. Pretty Lamee. haha

Overall food was good and service was good. The problem is not enough space especially the pay counter with the people traffic. Also the bathrooms have one urinal and one toilet so you are waiting to go. There was a young lady working the pay counter, did not like the attitude I was given. Maybe she should have been doing dishes.

I can't believe I am writing a review about a chain, let alone a chaing buffet... but I was in Marysville and I have seen the commercial.... The line was a little long but if you like the people you are with that should be a breeze.... probably about a half and hour and my right leg is 50% paralyzed and I survived, so... you should too.... Okay it's a buffet, so we know there are a lot of things to choose from... but this one had a lot of GOOD things to choose from.... Seafood Grill to order, not a lot of varieties, shrimp, tilapia or crab cakes, with noodles, rice or steamed vegetables to sit on with scampi, lemon piccata or spicy alfredo for a sauce... got the crab cake with lemon piccata and rice, FANTASTIC! steak medium rare at a buffet? yup really happened and truthfully better than outback or black angus, best steak I had in years..... all sorts of other good meat, fish and sides... Now to the desserts... was good wanted to try much more, saw fudge, brownies, cookies about 6 types of cake, bread pudding, several types of pie (including no sugar added blueberry) and then there is the chocolate fountain with the assortment of cookies and fruits on a stick to run under it.... ice cream, and bread pudding and cobbler as well... and Cotton Candy.... Cotton candy at a buffet????? (I hate it but my friend ate 2 carnival serving cones of it).... everything I tried, no need to change in any way... perfect... the crab cake was awesome the steak was awesome, everything was great...... Are there better places out there??? yes... but for the price and variety everyone can have???? probably not... Ratings should be based on what you can afford and what you get, not what Bill Gate's can get....

Today after a trip to the Seattle Premuim Outlet mall, me and my family went here for lunch. We made it here by 2:45, the place was packed. I didnt really expect the red carpet to be rolled out and a table for 3 to be waiting so I got what I expected. This is a buffet. Its like Middle America all came together with NASCAR and decided this is what you get. The meatloaf was bad. To much salt, not enough vlavor. Ketchup couldnt help this out. The pot roast was dry. The kind of dry only found at the Golden Coral. Steak sauce wasnt going to livin it up and I didnt eat most of it. The ham was good, a bit to much grisle. The salad bar was well maintaned, The patrons kind of put me off. It was like a church picnick some how got entangled with the GOP, and a senior center was at the accident scene. Im a liberal and a man came up to me and told me Mitt Romney was his man. I was wearing my Red Sox Nation attire. I didnt like this. I felt dirty. My sons mom was shoved while trying to get some pizza for my son. The bathrooms were a mess. Toilet paper was all over the floor and my son told me people pee'ed on the toilet seat. Thank god I taght him how to use his foot to lift a toilet seat. 2 stars because the waitress seemed to really try. She almost looked defeated as if this was a job and any job is worth doing right.

Homemade mashed potataos, mac and cheese, broccoli and cheese, baked potato and all the works....and can I say they have a chocolate fountain? I dipped strawberries, pineapple and rice crispies and thought I was in heaven. I like this place, I like the selection, and I liked the table service. We will be back. (and it seems they actually season their food!).

If you like a huge crowd of people, very loud setting, and would have to get in line for your greasy food, then this is the buffet place for you. The name says it all for the environment, it is a corral. I kept hearing good things about this place while I was in a long line outside of the restaurant, and when I came in, I have to admit, I got a little excited, because I thought there were a huge variety of dishes. The set-up is section by section, however, once I started putting the food on my plate, I realized that the choices were just mostly fried dishes, there were different types of fried chicken, fried shrimp, sirloin steak, onion rings, salty mashed potatoes, etc. The place lacked a balanced meal being served at the buffet. The dessert were mostly pies, cookies, soft serve ice cream, and cotton candy. I think I threw away more food than what I actually ate, because each piece of meat were cut into huge portions and the food was also too salty for my taste. As far as price goes, it's decent enough and there's also a senior discount for those 60+ yrs.

Ok, I was getting tired of seeing commercials from out of reach places such as Dave and Busters, Ruby Tuesdays, Sonic, and this place Golden Corral. I don't quite remember how I found out there was one in Marysville. The hubby and I were meaning to come here so that I can show him how much better this place is than OCB (Old Country Buffet). I grew up with Golden Corral while living in NM. I had a friend who's mom worked there, so we would come in our HS year and get free meals. So on a whim we drove out to Marysville to give GC our monies. The place was pretty busy even at 3 something in the afternoon! The drinks are in a bigger cup, and you also have to pay for it extra at the time you pay for your meal. Pay before you grub. The food was all good and had home cooked feel to it. Hot food stayed hot, and cold stayed cold. Definitely not located in any metropolis, this whole place had small town America written all over it. With the patrons, and the city we were no longer in Seattle, Toto! I definitely enjoyed GC, the food was good and it does definitely stomp out OCB! You can get steaks made to order to your liking, today was Carver's Table, definitely lots of carved meat options, which is the theme for today, they usually have different themes everyday. The salad bar was fresh and cold. The desserts were good and there was definitely a better variety. I even took home a napkin full of the after dinner butter mints! LOL! Overall, i would definitely come back to GC, the drive especially on a warm spring day is pretty nice. The staff are all friendly and nice. The prices are pretty good, you definitely get what you pay for.

My taste buds have been itching for another go. So, we drove up from Auburn just to eat here on Wednesday for Lunch. Under $15 for lunch. WOW!!! Lots to choose from. I really liked the pot-roast. The salmon was yummy. And Strawberry shortcake for dessert. I noticed there was a good cross section of the population, from young to old. This sure beats the OCB by a long shot. Wish there was one closer to Home. If the parking lot is full, it's a excellent bet the food is worth a try!

Wow, I'm writing a review of a buffet. Ya I know, Old Country Buffet, Sizzler, Golden Corral. The bland and contrived, comfort food cooked to the lowest common denominator and prepared for the masses as cheaply as possible. However, in a general wasteland of move it along and suck it down, there are some surprising exceptions to this rule. Not all Golden Corrals are created equal, and when I've traveled on the road and have rolled the dice I've been pleased and I've walked out hungry seeking food at a different restaurant. But this one is different. Very different. The secret? First and foremost, this Golden Corral has a very actively involved owner/manager. He is there most of the time, and when he is there, this place runs with military efficiency and crap is not accepted on the line. Steaks? Cooked to order right in front of you. The quality of the meat is very good. Salad bar items are fresh, and constantly rotated. That includes the mixed salads and fresh fruit, that includes seasonal LOCAL produce. Ya, you read that right - stuff actually rotates based on what is in the local markets. Am I in a Golden Corral? The mashed potatoes. Holy ass crackers. Just the mashed potatoes alone make it worth the trip. Oh, and the cornbread is darn good. Did I forget to mention the catfish. The CATFISH?!? OK, Lived in Texas for eight year and have found it hard to get properly prepared fried catfish around here that I don't make myself. Oh...so...very...good. Is it perfect? Nope. Green beans come from a can (given everything else on the bar this is a bit of a shock). Veggies are cooked to a buffet line standard, translation over cooked the way the masses like them. The clientele at times doesn't understand basic concepts like standing in a line, not letting your six-year old maul the dessert station, or not make the process of building a salad yourself not turn into a panicked oh my God I'm defusing a bomb, do I go with the red or the green peppers. Red or green? TELL ME, I CAN'T MAKE UP MIND!!! There have been a couple of visits where I didn't see the owner around, and the quality was definitely lower. But go get a nice steak cooked the way you like, a salad, a baked potato and maybe a piece of catfish as an appetizer and you'll have a meal that is better than an Applebee's for less money. Oh, don't want steak, they have great chicken, scallops, shrimp, meatloaf, and every now and then Swedish meatballs, along with...

Well...it's a buffet...with a GREAT selection of food. It's pretty much what you can expect from a buffet: self-serve (except for the beverages), about $10 plus the cost of drink, all you can eat.... The only draw back is that it can get really busy on friday or saturday nights, but that's to be expected. I would recommend this place...I've been there many times!

Golden Corral is the best buffet around these parts. Stay clear of the Old Country Buffet and drive up north to this gem. Bring your appetite and be sure to savor the great steak (for the price) and to die for mac n cheese, oh and eat some o the fried okra, mmmmm. Service it what you'd expect as well as the dining company, lots of blue collar girthyness.

This place...wow. I'll start by saying that as far as buffets (locally) are concerned, it's okay. They truly do have a couple decent creations here but even the decent stuff tastes like it comes from a box (not surprising, I know). Most other items are very bland and low quality (the pizza is terrible, and its obvious just looking at it). Stay away from anything "Mexican" inspired there. If you eat fish, steak, roast beef or ham, you could get away with an okay meal there, if you like TV dinner style food. It is relatively clean though, the service is decent, the staff friendly. The desserts are nothing special, though I was surprised that they had a decent bread pudding. The clientele....is good for people watching. Aside from the huge amount of geriatric customers (which doesn't bother me), most of the other customers make me glad I brought hand sanitizer with me (if you go there, please bring some and use it). The best foods there? Their baked potatoes, rotisserie chicken, bourbon street chicken, carrots, garlic cheddar biscuits. None of the desserts are bad, just nothing special (standard buffet and/or cafeteria desserts). My children, however, love this place...so if you have a group of kids you need to buy dinner for, or are entertaining some older people, they might enjoy it, and the price is okay for all you can eat (if you can eat the food, that is.). Don't forget the hand sanitizer. Please. Oh, and for photo opportunities, look for the car in the parking lot (it's there frequently, I really hope it belongs to a customer and not someone making the food, then again, that person is also touching all of the serving utensils you also have to touch....) that is literally CRAMMED with garbage. You can't see in any of the back windows because the garbage is up to the ceiling. This kind of sums up the clientele (apart from the geriatrics and random family in there). Did I mention hand sanitizer?

Me and my uncle have been going here every year for more than 15 years fo our birthday/family dinner. THE FOOD IS TERRIFIC. I love it! That memory of what that one emplyee did to the mashed patatos though still lingers in my mind while im eating there! but othere than that, its great, great food, service, and quality! oh and the prices are okay, but worth it!

I had the notion that there would be steaks in hot lights, all kinds lined end to end . No, not during lunch time. This is not like the Golden Corral of the Midwest where they would have station upon station to chose from. But they did have many homey favorites such as pot roast, meat loaf, fried chicken. The senior special cannot be beat. Unfortunately, I am not a senior yet. I expected too much from this joint but I did leave extremely stuffed and happy. Oh and convenient hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere...great idea!

Had a hankering for buffet. Checking the internet Golden Corral was the place to go. Have been to a few others in the past. This was an experience. Granted a friday nite...this has to be the busiest GCF, I've ever been too! or it's just small in size. Quite a crowd. I will agree with some previous reviews, Marysville, WA has by far some of the fattest people I've ever encountered in one place..Have no doubt this GCF is losing money! The overall fare was good however. Salad bar served up everything, it was great. Hot bar..pot roast, yumm, steak - med rare good not chewy, veggies...good mashed pot, not instant. Highlight of the place is the desert bar..was quite a line..I went for the fruit, watermelon/cantalope was fresh and sweet. If you can overlook the girth of the patrons and screaming kids..it not a bad place for lunch/dinner.

I liked this place, minus how busy it was. My waitress was good, she ALWAYS brought me a drink refill without asking! I thought $14.95 was kind of pricey and annoyed I had to pay for a drink. But the food was good, although the line for the seafood station was rediclious. All I wanted was two piece of damn shrimp! The salad and fruit selection was pretty good. I looooooved it, I also throughly enjoyed the desert. I will be returning to this place, regardless of paying 2 bucks in addition to 10.99 for a meal.

I see people mentioning the price... it's all you can eat. 10-15 for an all you can eat buffet is awesome. I see people mentioning cleanliness, we are in MARYSVILLE!!! I'd be surprised if your car doesn't get spray painted outside in the lot. Yes. It's dirty. The food isn't. It's made in an open kitchen. watch the cooks. If you want something better there is a killer buffet ten minutes away at the Tulalip Casino. If you don't want to wait an hour and pay 20 a person go to the Coral and eat a good meal...or two :)

  • Aly B.

I worked at this location for a year and I can proudly say I still love eating there. The staff keeps things clean, sanitary, fresh, the food out on the bar is constantly being rotated with clean dishes, fresh food, etc. Very comforting to find that in a salad bar! The salad bar is delicious, so many choices for your salad! Additionally the hamburgers are really good, along with their side dishes. The dessert bar has an amazing amount of choices. It's a little spendy to eat there these days, but it's a good place for buffet. :)

Pretty much just like the one in NC that my parents used to go to all the time. Pretty clean. We had a really nice server. You can get steaks! I think GC is a lot better than OCB (Old Country Buffet). It's kinda out of the way though up in Marysville. Maybe combine it with a trip to Tulalip.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite buffet. Blows OCB out of the water. It is all remodelled now and harder to dine and dash with ease (pay BEFORE you eat? What is this nonsense?) but whatever. I've got a job for a reason I guess. Wear your elastic waistband pants!

Wow... I didn't know that there was a Golden Corral somewhat-close to Seattle. I thought it was only in Spokane. Located in the boonies, it should be called Hicktown. The place was so busy but luckily my group snagged a booth seat. Salad option was decent - but why chop a whole tomato in fourths rather than getting cherry tomatoes? The mashed potatoes, au gratin, macaroni, corn and corn on the cob was good. I would've tried the green beans but one of my friends had a LONG strand of hair in hers. The rolls there are SOO GOOOOD! I guess it was already buttered on top but I added some margarine on it. *droooool* If I wasn't so full, I would've eaten another roll. It was big, soft, light and oh-so-delish. The fried chicken was not too bad. The special of the day was Applewood (or something like that) but it didn't look too appetizing to me. My friends got a shrimp wrapped in bacon thing and one of them spit it out saying that it tasted bad. Eep! This was the same girl that got the hair in her green beans. She wasn't having a good day. The dessert looks tasty from afar but I didn't see anything worth eating once I got a close-up. I did nibble on a chocolate chip cookie which wasn't too bad and had some of my friend's slice of cake, which was alright too. I definitely prefer Izzy's - I know that they some of the food is different but I love Izzy's salad bar and warm foods. And I LOVE their chocolate chip cookies. The dinner price is a little cheaper (and there are always coupons that go out in the Val-Paks). Plus, Izzy's is in Everett which makes it much closer to the rest of society. And interesting observation, I swear that 80% of the people at Golden Corral are overweight if not obese while the people that go to Izzy's are in much better shape. Hm.

My husband and I were in the mood for what, we did not know. I had been given mixed reviews about Golden Corral,so I asked my daughter about it. She said she and her husband like going to Golden Corral. So we decided a buffet was just the thing. We went to Golden Corral and were not sure how it would be. We were so pleasantly surprised to find the food fresh hot and delicious. We loved the pot roast and the steak. Our waitress, Dianna was a very nice woman and right on top of everything. We will recommend this Golden Corral to everyone who asks for advice about where to eat. The prices were good and the food was fabulous.

A lot of people need to keep in mind that this is a buffet. It's not a gourmet restaurant. With most buffets, quantity overrules quality. This buffet seems to incorporate a little of both. Whats that? Good buffet food? Yes, for what it is, it's pretty good. It's not a Casino buffet, but it's a huge step above a place like Old Country Buffet. You get good tasting food at a low all-you-can-eat price. Be forewarned though, this is a very popular restaurant and is busy every day of the week at all times of the day.

This restaurant does not care about people in wheelchairs!! We have gone here years and loved the food and the environment, but after last Friday night, I will never return! We have a friend who is in a chair who went with us to the restaurant. As usual it was packed. We paid and headed for a table. We ended up in the back (west end of restaurant). There were two pathways along both sides of the middle isle. We all got seated and then the fun began. They kept rearranging the tables so they could accommodate more people . They ended up making one isle too skinny for a chair to go through. The other Isle was blocked, but our friend could go to the right and still get out. That is until there were people seated there. The waitress wasn't wanting to accommodate our friend in the chair, so while I went to talk to the owner, my wife talked to the waitress again. She said if worse came to worse, they would have him go though the emergency exit, and down the outside sidewalk, and then back into the restaurant to get his food, and then the reverse on the way back. When I talked to the owner, he told me the same thing, and I said "I don't think so!". So he went back and talked to my wife. The owner didn't apologize really and wanted to move us then and there, even though we were just starting our dessert. He told us also that all we would have had to do is ask for seating and they would accommodate us. There was no sign stating this anywhere. The cashier didn't know or suggest we wait and they could assist us. No one but the owner had any idea about American Disability Act laws. He dismissed it as it wasn't his waitress & cashier's job, but his to know about the laws and how to rearrange things to accommodate someone. Finally my wife just said, ok let's just drop this now, we both aren't getting anywhere. A lot of restaurants would have offered our friend a refund or the next time is on us, or at the very least a discount. They didn't care at all and did nothing. The waitress, only started to getting friendly and helpful right around the time of the tip.

Oh, what can I say about this place? I am torn between understanding quality verses price. What I mean is the Golden Corral is an American buffet in Marysville. ::drumming fingers:: Right.... Kind of self explanatory...? Okay, maybe I was just envisioning a different kind of restaurant, maybe I was expecting something else, or maybe I just believe in good buffets, but this was just boring. Okay, okay - all you can eat meat and we did visit during the seafood "extravaganza" so I had all I could eat breaded shrimp. But it's an American buffet in Marysville. A cheap American buffet. Worth it to some, but I think I'll just save my $11 and go some place new.

This place is expensive and the food is very poor-quality. Everyone I know keeps talking about how awesome it is. I have given it 3 tries (I believe in trying everything 3 times before I write it off) and will not do it again. Each trip has only been a magnificent challenge to my intestinal fortitude ... and the plumbing in my house.

Holy steak heaven! For the price (around 12 bucks) and all the steak you can eat... this is one buffet I'm happy to go to. Good steak, good other stuff tooo... typical buffet with a larger selection of meats. LOL... if anyone knew me I wouldn't be one to boast about meats. They're open pretty late too... yummy in my tummy.

This is 3.5 stars, really... When I was a kid, we used to go to buffets A LOT. Like almost on a weekly basis. I found out from mom that it was because it was free for kids to eat on certain nights. My dad wanted to come up here for a family dinner (presumably because he has seen so many commercials of this place) so we headed up to Marysville. I live in Everett so it wasn't much of a drive for me :-) When we finally arrived, there was a freakin charter bus pulling up int he parking lot. My Boyfriend said "Let's hope they are only using the bathroom", but as the people filed out, i thought "yeah right". We got into line to wait, my sister and her husband hadn't arrived. I think we waited about 15 minutes to get through the line (they have a huge banquet room inside for groups), in that time frame our missing party members showed up, and we were seated at the back. I haven't visited a buffet for probably a good 5 years now, and I still remember as a kid LOVING King's Table. Golden Corral reminded me a lot of King's Table, as far as food quality went. I don't even want to think about all of the food I had tried, but they have something for everyone- salad, soup, carbs, meats, fried foods, dessert...They had Taco salad, clam chowder, green bean casserole, ribs, meatloaf, spaghetti, a few cajun options (it was cajun night), fried shrimp, chicken, pot roast, seafood salad, mac and cheese, a pizza bar, mini burgers...among others, the possibilities are endless, and it takes a certain level of self control not to "strap on a feedbag" and gorge yourself like a cow chewing it's cud. (My dad made the comment that they were packin people in like cattle... cattle: golden corral... coincidence? I think not!) They were alternating out dishes so that there wasn't always the same thing the second time you came back around. And steak, cooked in front of you to your desired doneness. The steak alone is worth the 10.99 sticker price. The sodas are OVERPRICED though at 2.50 i think. I would suggest drinking water with your meal to save calories! The dessert was mediocre compared to the actual food. The food quality is surprisingly good for a buffet. My advice- Start with a big, healthy green salad, and go from there :-) I'm still full today from last night!

A horrible lunch. We went there w/ friends after we discovered that the gourmet pizza place we wanted to go to was closed. Apparently to be a regular customer here you must: 1. Be morbidly obese. 2. Have tattoos, lots of them 3. Have at least 3 kids. There was a long line at the register as we entered the restaurant. The cashier had a sleeveless shirt on apparently to show off here tattoos and scabs that covered both arms. The main dining room was full so we headed back to the other eating area. When entering that room the smell overtook us. It was horrible. I thought that maybe they just sprayed for bugs or something like that. My wife said it was the smell of lots of dishrags that have never been washed. Generally speaking, the food was horrible. Lots to choose from; however, lots of horrible food. Most of which was deep fried. The exception is maybe the dessert table. The soft serve ice cream machine did ok. I honestly don't understand the good reviews for this restaurant on Yelp. Do they all work there? Is Marysville that low on good restaurants? Avoid this place like the plague!

this is one of our favourite places to eat. the food is QUITE good and covers a WIDE array of choices. my husband is a red meat eater, so he always has lots to choose from. i prefer fish, chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and boiled cabbage, so that is what i load up on. i like the fact that it is all you can eat [while you're there, of course]. no take-out. although the place is normally ALWAYS crowded, if you have a large party and call in advance to reserve a spot, it will be there waiting for you. one year we held a family party there -- with over 10 people who came from all up and down the I-5 corridor. the first time we ate at a golden corral was in tucson in 2004, when we went to visit my cousin. my husband said that there was one in marysville, so as soon as we got back from our trip we went there. it was under the old kitchen -- it had not been updated like the tucson one, but in june of that year, it got updated.

It's definitely hit or miss. I usually start with just a tiny sample of the foods I would like, and if it happens to still be warm I'll go back for more. Most of the time, the food tends to be cold (except for the salad bar).

I see commercials for this place all the time on tv and dismissed them like I do all commercials I believe are useless because they dont have one 50 miles radius of where I live i.e. Dave & Busters, cici's pizzas. But I was having a casual talk with a co-worker and he said he went here the other night, what?! Of course I verify with yelp and we were off this weekend to check this hidden gem out. Well I guess its not hidden, as I discovered by other reviews here and when I arrived....I took ppl's tips and came early, really early for dinner at 4pm. When we got there it was still super packed! There were at least 50 ppl in line. It took us about 40 mins to be seated. But it was worth the wait due to the excitement of eating here for the first time and of course the food! This place is like old country buffet BUT the quality is much much better. Instead of the taste of frozen foods heated up, all the food here is great and fresh tasting. They have non stop steaks cooking up and they ask you how you want it! Just like all others here, the steaks are awesome for the price your paying for your whole meal. Servers are very attentive cleaning up plates and refilling sodas way ahead of time and deserve a tip, even for a buffet. Prices are great, on par with old country. Only reason this doesnt get 5 stars is because it is still a 30 mile drive out (not their fault) and seating is crammed like sardines. The ppl seated next to us had a table literally 1 foot from ours, just a little close. But I understand, considering how popular this place is, might as well cash in and get as many tables in their. They should really expand the dining room, they would fill it up quickly. We will be back here for sure.

I used to go to golden corral almost every other week when I was stationed in in GA. Great price and good food and all you can eat steak/burger/pork chop is pretty great. I was happy to find that there is one in WA...probably the only one in the entire west coast...after we shopped at the premium outlet, we stopped by and again, happy to find that the price is the same ($10- dinner) as other golden corrals in the south, and food quaility was the same. I hope more golden corrals open up, it will definately kill other buffet/steak restaurants like sizzler/old country/ruby tuesday

I just noticed that it says formal attire required. I have NO idea why it says that on there. This is a blue collar restaurant through and through and there are lots of folks in their blue collar work clothes during the lunch hour. Go in whatever you happen to be wearing. My husband and I have gone in paint splattered clothes after a rough day remodeling.

I just happened to be here on the Fourth of July. I was surprised they didn't have anything special going on, but it wasn't crowded at all. They were doing a new "breakfast all day" thing. I'm not sure how long they'll keep offering it, but it was pretty awesome. The eggs were just okay, but the biscuits were amazing - best I've ever had. They had great thick-cut bacon, and the French toast was good, too. The pizza was pretty mediocre, and I'm still not a huge fan of their fried chicken. The yeast roll I got had been sitting out too long and it wasn't worth eating. The crab salad and steak fries are still amazing, though. They also had flavorful steak and delicious fried shrimp. Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks full. It's definitely the best buffet to go to, I just wish I didn't have to drive an hour to get there.

An extremely popular place on a Saturday night. Crowd was huge and boisterous with people swarming over the buffet tables. That being said, there was always food on the tables. It is a testament to the staff an management that they could keep it so well stocked with such well-made food. Had the bourbon chicken that was tasty while my girlfriend loved the riblets. Fried okra was prepared correctly which was a pleasant surprise. We were both amazed at the quality of the sirloin steak that was cooked right and was juicy with good flavor. If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat experience that is reasonably priced then this is the place. More convenient and cheaper than the casinos with a larger selection in many cases.

We have been here 3 times. The first time was a couple years ago we never got in we left the line was so horribly long. The second time we did get in the food was pretty good to be honest the memory is unclear if I liked it or not. We went again last night knowing we prefer the one in Spokane. It was my last day of freedom to have what I like so we talked and chose this as my "last meal" We waited in line for maybe 15-20 minutes and was seated. The food smelled very good. We were sat at a table by a huge group of people who were so loud we could not carry on a conversation. That is no reflection on the restaurant at all. Its kinda like complaining that a baby is crying again they cannot control what the patrons do. They eventually left and the restaurant went down a few decibels. The food I tried a variety of things from the Bourbon chicken (a bit salty but very tasty) to the spaghetti (very tasty garlic marinara). I tried The steak while there was a bit too much fat it did not distract from the tasty juicy tenderness of the deliciously seasoned steak. The bacon was a tad over cooked but wth it was bacon! Overall the food was hot and plentiful even though it was so busy. The staff was constantly running food back and forth. The lady that kept our drinks flowing was courteous and kind very pleasant experience with her. At one point a lady I think her name was Vanessa yelled at some guys across the dessert try and the either manager or owner told her shush not on the floor. I have to say the desert selection with the chocolate fountain my son looks forward too and my daughter the cotton candy were there and ready to go but I have a soft spot for the carrot cake with pineapple its simply omg delicious! I don't know why was not a huge fan of the cheesecake. But for the price and variety this is a good place to head if your family answers when you ask them what they want for dinner and the answers always, "I don't know" if they do not find it here they probably wont find it anywhere!

I am disturbed by my few experiences at this restaurant. First... the staff... cooks, cashiers, drink runners and Everyone working here is very polite. Very professional and attentive to the patrons. That being said... i have eaten here about 3 times because my family members like it. I on the other hand feel very crowded and uncomfortable dining here. Its chaos in the parking lot as well as inside the crowded restaurant. Hence. ... "corral". As i waited in a crowded entryway for a very long time. I observed chefs cooking ribs while coworkers swapped out bread rolls leaning over a flame & food being grilled putting the workers safety last. The restaurant is too small & the layout does not flow well. Woud be nuce to have two locations or a much larger building and safer parking lot.

Probably the best food value in America. The selection of entrees and salads is unmatched. The vegetables are varied and well seasoned. The hot food is hot and the cold food is cold. The servers are well trained and attentive. The price , well, I don't know how they do it for that low price. I do drive about 50 miles to eat there a couple times a year. Yet on my birthday they send me a coupon for a free meal. I wish there was one closer.

If you want to eat wayyy too much food, this is the place for you. I tend to stuff myself until I feel sick when I come here. Come early and it will still be packed, that is just the way it is here. I think that their method of getting drinks then sitting etc needs to be improved to get the line moving a little faster. This place is crawling with kids which is fine, I am a mom too, but watch your kids! Not cool to have them running through this place when people have hot plates of food in their hands. This place is clean, they keep great tabs on that and everything is usually hot an fresh. You will never run out of plates or silverware when you come here. They keep that on point. Huge salad bar, tons of "comfort food" to make you huge in no time at all. The mashed potato and chicken strips are so good. Huge desert section with chocolate fountains, ice cream, pies, cakes and cookies. All in all when I feel that I need to eat more food than humanly possible, I will come here. It's better than OCB.

Golden Corral isn't the place to go when you want steaks. It isn't the place to go when you want Mexican. It also isn't the place to go when you want Italian. Nope, Golden Corral is the place to go when you have ZERO clue about what you want! There are so many choices, so many possibilities and so many ways of stuffing yourself for a very low price that you don't mind the occasionally overcooked item, the sometimes greasy veggies and the obligatory crying child. Now I'll admit, I am a bit of a food snob insofar as I won't eat cheap stuff. GC has some really good produce, but they sometimes leave it in containers over heat until the perfectly cooked asparagus turns into a limp, green straw or the corn gets waterlogged. Now, if you come in during the dinner rush, you don't have this problem, but it also depends on what day of the week you visit. The people at GC do try to get you the best food they can, with a smile and great service - so what you lose out on in a few items, you make up in variety and friendly service. The steaks, mini-sliders and meatloaf are consistently great, as is the Bourbon Street chicken and popcorn shrimp. My wife loves the deep-fried catfish (though it is often gone because its so popular), and the dessert choices are perfect (small slices) to allow you to try a few different items instead of just one huge piece. So, pack up the family, grab the earplugs and make yourself a meatloaf and popcorn shrimp fajita!

Great service great food. And I was there at a very busy time, and I was so impressed how they managed the traffic flow and turned tables so quickly. I can list a lot of other establishments that could learn a lot on how to run a restaurant from these folks!

We had seen commercials for this restaurant and decided to stop after a trip to Bellingham. The food was horrible with the exception of the fried chicken. It is not worth the price and I seriously worry that I will be getting sick due to the cleanliness. Hasn't happened yet but we just ate there yesterday. We will never go back to this one or any other one. Save your money---go eat somewhere you will get your own plate. The staff were trying, they are very kind and diligent but there is no way to keep up with the hoards of people and the dirty mess that they left...mashed potatoes and all of that were cold also. We didn't try to food that was cold for fear that it would be warm. Such a disappointment.

If i could give negative stars i would...we walked in and there was food all over the floor...some chef girl YELLING at the other cooks..it stunk like a dirty mcdonalds kids playroom..the cooks were sweating over the food...there were overweight men and wemen wearing bathing suits and tank tops...not something i need to see while im eating...so we left before we even got to the register...completley disgusting!!!!!

This is one of the few places that I intentionally go out of my way to eat at. I can't say that there's anything here that is spectacular. It's just a consistent quality with overall above average food at a decent price. The only reason I don't go five stars is the crowd. It is truly a corral where you're crammed in with a line out the door. Hit in in the 2-4pm range and it's not so bad but I try to avoid the other times. They really need a bigger building or more locations.

Jack of all trades, master of none. This popular saying could describe most buffets and Golden Corral is no different. Yes, there is a plethora of food options. From the salad bar, to tacos, to pot roast, to chicken wings, to pizza, to steak, to choice teriyaki there is something here for everyone. Unfortunately, none if it is truly fantastic. My favorite items on the buffet are all sides: macaroni and cheese, steamed carrots, sautéed mushroom, and OMG delicious buttery soft rolls. The pot roast was flavorful and would have been considered great if it hasn't been quite so dry. The real hit of Golden Corral is the dessert bar. That chocolate waterfall will have you going back for more and more and you'll literally feel your stomach expanding. There are also pies, cakes, cookies, and of course the soft serve ice cream machine. For what you get the price is pretty decent. Go after 4:00 pm Monday-Thursday to get the $2.99 price for kids. It's usually quite busy here so also be prepared to wait in line a bit. We'll definitely be back, but it's more for the experience than the food itself.

Researched saw it on TV couldn't wait to eat there finally had a chance cuz its far away it was amazing no waiting good service under $30 for 3 adults and it had everything everything what I can't wait to go back and I took a ice cream out the door with me ask me it's worth it it was my first time I loved it

We arrived ahead of the dinner crowd so there was no waiting. You order drinks, pick up and pay for your meal prior to find seating. Tables are close together so try to get a booth if one is available. With do any people crammed into such a small space it gets very loud. You get your own plate and silverware at the clean dish stations. There is a large salad bar, taco bar, meat bar, southern favorites, "Italian" foods and dessert bar. Dessert bar has cotton candy, white chocolate fountain, milk chocolate fountain and butterscotch fountain with a wide variety of dippers. Soft serve ice cream with toppers and an abundance of cake and ice cream. Arrive early! And enjoy!

Finally, I made it to the Only Golden Corral on the West Side of the State.... Woo Hoo. After seeing the commercials all the time in Kitsap County I was so excited to make a road trip to Maryville (Around 100 miles) to check-out our Golden Corral. So why One Star you ask..... Was it the Food ? No the food was all very good and nicely presented, there was lots of it !! Salad, Main Dishes, Desserts.... So Cool, almost like the commercials. The cook was very cordial and seemed very eager to serve me the meat of my choice, even snapped some pictures, a hobby of mine. Of course the Chocolate Fountain was all that it seemed and very cool. Delicious ! So, Was it location ??? No.... Easy to find in Marysville and even though it seemed to be a very busy evening, we found parking adequate. Was it Service ?? No.... All the servicers from the manager who seated my spouse and my son and his girlfriend and grandchildren to the servers I saw busily helping customers, refreshing food, ensuring all food was plentiful and replacing our drinks as needed.... They All seemed very friendly and helpful during a very busy looking time at the restaurant. So what was it ?? One person spoiled my entire visit. The Owner ! After finishing, for the most part, He came up to me in front of my family and asked me why i was taking pictures, I said it was just a hobby of mine, he then started insisting that I delete then, saying something about, didn't want secrets getting out or didn't like the competition or something to that effect. He said he was going to watch me delete them !! How embarrassing !! To try and put me on the spot like that in a busy restaurant, in front of my family at that. I was totally offended, harassed and caught off guard..... He made me feel like I was some kind of criminal when there were no signs stating no photography...... It was totally ridiculous !!, He eventually walked away but I was so pissed I just had to leave. The store looked pretty busy, and I'm pretty sure me not going there is not going to hurt all that much. But I have to go with One Star due to the Owner being a moron and harassing me when it was totally not warranted. So, One Star ! No Class Owner. "Worried about the competition ?!?! What the Hell are you talking about" ?? By the way, He stated that all Yelpers were a bunch of Complainers/Winers !! (Exact words). Like I said, No Class !! Just couldn't see bashing the good work of the employees because they have a No Class Owner. I will never return to this restaurant !

I went here with family after day tripping it up to the tulip festival and it was obvious why it's been over five years since I've last eaten at a Golden Corral...the food her is just awful. Dry, abused by the heat lamp, cheap quality, and not worth the amount charged to eat what they call "dinner". I couldn't chew through the leathery scrap that may have been steak but I didn't give it enough time in my mouth to find out. I'd say steer clear of anything that comes off the grill if you'd like to refrain from being put into dentures by the end of your meal. The only things I could say I "enjoyed" choking down was their French fries drowned in liquid nacho cheese, a salad which came from a really good assortment of fresh veggies and toppings (why they still get to keep three stars), and if you can ignore the fact that every poorly behaved child is shoving their filthy sticky fingers into it - the chocolate fondue waterfall is divine. They have everything to dip into that bad boy - strawberries, pineapple, bananas, rice Krispy treats, macaroons, and I had fun bringing fruit over from the salad bar. All in all, it's just another cheap and disappointment of a buffet. If you enjoy crappy food with even crappier company eating around you, have fun.

Sweet Jesus... The steak, all you should be eating here should be the steak from the griddle. Wash that shit down some chocolate fountain and fruit. Oh meh god I feel like I'm at a Vegas buffet.

We have visited 4 times now. The one thing I can say is that food quality is very inconsistant. Always way too salty! The parking lot is always packed and the inside is too. All the tables are very close together. I feel like cattle in a corral. After our most recent vist, we have confirmed it was our last. Not quality enough to go from Seattle.

  • Ppie S.

First time here, let me sum it up in a few words. Must try: steak, carrot cake and they have fresh fruits. I tried the pot roast, buffalo wings, pizza and crab cake too salty for my taste. Salad bar: so-so not too many options, and the lettuce looks wilted Price: does not include the soda and it's 2$ + for refillable glass Service: good, our server is very attentive

One-star Service. As in my other posts, my friend and I are buffet connoisseurs. We go frequently to a variety of buffets around the Seattle area, and as we were in Everett today, we decided to go up to marysville to try the ever talked about Golden Corral buffet. Didn't expect much, more in the way of old country buffet and classic American foods. It was exactly that, except with a bit more variety: tacos and rice and extensive dessert. Why one star? Service of course! We had never been to a Golden Corral before and as such, were not aware of the process of things, so we asked the cashier and she gave us the lowdown: "I'll get your drinks, and you pay and put down your receipt on the table and eat!" (Easy enough) It was perfectly fine, we ate and then got up for our final trip, dessert! When we came back, our table was taken by an elderly couple with the waitress who had been serving us standing right there with our last plates. She sat the older couple down and walked off. Myself standing two feet away looking on in complete confusion. This has NEVER happened to us before. Seriously GRETA?! We hadn't been gone for more than two minutes! SERIOUSLY?! Did you forget us as we sat a table away for the next ten minutes with our desserts?! We sat at the table over and watched as Greta walked by multiple times and saw us multiple times. I'm very disappointed in uou Greta. Make sure you save your seat when going here - or else Greta might give it away for you, even in the middle of your meal!

I have to give a one star because of the meat carver at the restaurant. He was extremely rude. He was yelling at people and asking them how they wanted their steak cooked. Employee: how you want your steak?!! (Yelling) Customer: what did you say? Employee: how you want your STEAK?!! (Yelling harder) Customer: well done Employee: go stand over there and wait for 5 minutes!! Go!!!! (Yelling even more) What's up with 'go stand over there and wait for 5 minutes?' I know this is a cheap buffet but can't you be more polite and treat customers with care? This is totally unacceptable!!! What in the world? Why would you yell at people and be extremely rude? Can't you just politely ask them and be nice? The other employees were nice but only he was so mean! That is not acceptable!!! He is ruining reputation of the restaurant!!!! The management of the restaurant should train him better and prevent this kind of incident!!!!

Definitely not what I expected for this place. We drove an hour for not a very large selection. Things tasted bland. Some fruit was already spoiled. Turkey and steak were good. Mac and cheese was really thick. Mashed potatoes tasted funny. The pizza was undercooked. I probably wont come back. The only attraction was the chocolate foundation. Although pictures and reviews show a white choco fountain and a caramel one. Nope.just 1. Just milk chocolate. And the place is small. I expected a lot more.

Golden Corral - it use to remind me of childhood trips to the Royal Fork - good friend chicken, lots of choices of yummy food. This, however, is no longer how I picture it. We hadn't been to the GC for a while, but my daughter wanted to go there for her birthday dinner. I was kind of leery of the prices (you could go cheaper to Red Robin) but, it was her 18th birthday, so I obliged her. Parking was horrendous, and I could feel my nerves already shaking, imagining the crowds of hungry diners inside. I wasn't disappointed. People were everywhere. Kids were yelling, babies screaming. Obviously good manners stop at the door - and so does the health inspector. Meat was overcooked - the recipes must vary in the kitchen because in ten minutes time, the teriyaki chicken tasted totally different from when it had been placed out before. The food was either over seasoned, or had none at all. The worst part - my daughter found hair in her food - not in just one dish, but in THREE seperate foods. I won't be going back again. Not only was the food mostly inedible, but feeling like I was in the middle of a feeding frenzy while being stared at because tables are so close to each other was just horrible. And they wanted $13 to eat someone else's hair??

I know what you're thinking, bad idea to go anywhere to eat on certain holidays. Well I took my dad there for Fathers day yesterday afternoon. The line was pretty long, but we waited about 30 minutes. The food was really good. I had the fried chicken and 4 steaks and several different types of potatoes, garlic bread, and some pizza. Seeing as how it was seriously crowded, and I mean crowded. I expected the place to be a huge mess, and to be constantly out of food, dishes, and silverware. None of those things happened. Everything was always constantly well stocked and the food was always plentiful and very fresh. The place, for the crowd was very clean. The staff was very friendly, always smiling. What I was also impressed with was the owner was out there also cleaning up the floor, filling soda cups, pulling trays, and doing other things you never see owners do. Overall everything was great, and was not I expected at all considering the other terrible buffets I have been to. The price was low was well.

I had never been. Went up to the Seattle Outlet Mall and after went to the Casino Buffet for lunch...um, when did lunch at the casino start costing $14.50?? Like 6 years ago it was $8.99! Anyway, we couldn't come to terms with spending $45 on an ok lunch buffet so we decided to try out The Golden Corral. We hit the sweet spot for timing: 1:30 on a Friday afternoon. There was plenty of parking, seating, and fresh hot food. What a treat! Stand out favorites were: REAL yeast rolls, you know the kind that get kneaded and left to rise? Tasted like the homemade bread my mom used to make. Real mashed potatoes, actually had bits of potato that hadn't been mashed all the way (lumpy like I like it!). Bourbon Chicken was tasty and tender. Carved turkey was moist and excellent. Asparagus was good, strawberries were ripe, and the Banana pudding was killer! I know its just pudding, but its made with white cake crumbles and nilla wafers and love and care at Golden Corral, its not your typical cafeteria pudding by any means! It was sooo good! Before stopping in we read the reviews and worried about some of the negative ones. But during our visit we had None of the issues others have had. All the food was fresh, salad bar was fresh, server was friendly and attentive, buffet stations were clean, food was not salty, seating was not crowded, and I can't wait to go back! There were so many great food choices, I couldn't even try all the things I wanted to. Now, I also know myself and my family well, and I will never return on a holiday, or a Friday or Saturday night. Lunch doesn't serve steak, but I didn't miss it, I'll probably stick to the non crowded sweet spot of a later lunch. Heck, we may skip lunch one day and try a 4:00 dinner, but we'll be back. BTW, for the 3 of us, lunch was $30 with tax and a nice tip for our sweet server, and the food was better than the Casino!

I'm not a huge fan when it comes to buffets due to the fact that I my appetite is the same as a cat, but had to try it for the hype. Their food is super fresh, they're constantly resupplying the food to make sure that they don't run out. The staff were really efficient with clearing guest's tables as well as friendly. Highly recommend this place for people looking for a great buffet. Oh yeah, they also have a salad/fruit bar, fondue, and cotton candy machine!

And enjoy!

Lots of different food to choose from, very busy restaurant, long lines, so far so good. Nothing really special, but with the items to choose from I can always find something to hone in on.

I drive all the way out to Marysville just to go here...Always the best value for the money...The whole family can find something, regardless how picky your teenagers are being that night... No other buffet we have visited can compete so far...

I guess it's hard to have high expectations for a buffet but the one I went to in Tampa was pretty good. This place is hit and miss. First time was good but last time was meh. The chicken tasted funky and the turkey was really dry. Mashed potatoes and the dessert bar were awesome.

For around $12, less for kids and Seniors, it's a deal that allows tight budgets a night out.

it is the best of all the american buffets I have been to I have traveled from Bellingham to Marysville just to eat here.

I would give this place 5-stars but the customers and workers here kind of... scared me. I felt like I was walking in Zombie Land. But anyways this is probably one of the best buffets that I've been to. $13 for dinner and everything was DERICIOUS.

The food was good. The place was (most;y) clean. The prices were good. I wish there were one closer to Seattle. Last time I was there they allowed some homeless people in- the blood on the clothing and obvious dirt on their hands that was enough for me to leave...... eww!

Absolutely gross. I saw. Servers touching food with their hands. Food is poor quality and staff lacks customer service

Been here twice. First visit was great, but second visit wasn't. Great steaks for sure.

Its like a home town buffet for white people but better by a power of 5. Dessert was good too.

Good... for the money you spend!
