I just found out that they have a drive through! What a great day. We ordered everything on the taco menu and finally got the horchata. I love this place because the tacos are the perfect size and they are so flavorful. The guy that took our order was so cutie! He gave us extra salsa without is asking.

I'm not from what you guys would call the PNW. I'm from the REAL PNW aka Alaska. So, when i think of mexican food its either tex-mex or the G.O.A.T., Taco Bell (buy me a double IPA and i'll tell you the day they discontinued the mexi-nugget, and how it sent my life into a downward spiral that i'm still digging myself out of...hence why i drink the double IPAs #visciouscycle). I guess what i'm saying is that Alaska has shitty mexican food, and i've eaten a fair share of mine drunk, swaying back and forth, while standing over the kitchen sink. So, my expectations are never high with mexican food, and i was presently surprised that this joint was better than average. I got a plate of 9 tacos...did you hear me people. NINE. As in "NINE times," #principlerooneyvoice. I think they had plates of tacos ranging from 4 to NINE, and I'm an idiot, but i know 9 tacos are better than 4. Anyways, i got carne asada on mine, and you can get chicken, and other meats. They're like street tacos you'd get in real mexico, and they were pretty good. I also got Menudo, mostly cause it sounds cool to say, and i think you get props from real mexican people if you're a gringo and order it. Plus, its only made on the weekends, so it sounded special. I like to feel special sometimes. That probably stems from the issues i have with my parents not raising me with a lot of love. That's whole other thing though. Anyways, i didn't realize it was beef stomach lining in a delicious red broth. The stomach was a little chewing, but also buttery. Probably never order it again, but sometimes you gotta man up and eat things out of the ordinary to look cool (i ate this meal alone, so nobody thought i was cool). I'm going to be back. Its inexpensive, and better than most chain or tex mex places in lynnwood. If this place goes out of business because you mouth breathers keep going to taco bell i'm going to be about as pissed off as someone can be that has to walk another quarter mile to go to taco bell. Be nice people.

I really like this place. It's pretty similar to a taco truck but in restaurant form. Their salsa over the wet burritos is divine - a little salty, a little smoky. They do offer a drive through but it is SO slow. I recommend going inside b/c it's usually faster, you can watch the soap operas or pick from the salsa bar. They are vegetarian friendly but you may have to explain it a few times. Prices are good, portions are good.

Had an absolutely ridiculous experience. They completely got my order wrong and then charged me for extra food I didn't order! I only found out when I got home and saw all this random food that I was charged for. It was so ridiculous I can only 2 star for slightly eating something I didn't know but was hungry. I feel unsatisfied and financially robbed. I will go back and give this place another try but this time will go inside and check my order.

We frequent El Rinconsito when we're craving authentic tacos. The prices are great, and the tacos are light and fresh. My husband loves all of the different salsas on the salsa bar, and I think the pico de gallo is a must have. I recently had the taquitos, but the chicken was pretty dry. I'll continue to stick with the steak tacos as I am never disappointed.

  • Jackie K.

Yummmmm. I love this place. The people are very warm and always give a ton of pico when I drive through. The three plate tacos with the rice and beans never fails to satisfy my belly.

The food was a little dry but tasted good. Going in to pick up my order, the place seemed a little messy. Overall, a good spot to hit up if your craving Mexican food.

Decided on something different for lunch, and thought since I have had this place book-marked for quite some time; we would try 'er out! Not disappointed at all! Good choice! First off, the prices are great! I got a combo plate which had 1 enchilada and 1 flat, rice and beans. I asked for all rice, no beans. The combo was one of their specials, and was only $5.99! A lot of food for a fraction of the price! It's not easy to find lunch for 2, for under $20! They have a nice salsa bar, with around 6-7 choices! The only draw back, is no chips. But then again, this isn't per say a 'sit down' restaurant. It is more like fast food style. Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. I am pretty sure this use to be a McDonalds back in the day. You can definitely tell from the set up and furniture. A 90's style McD's. But anyways.... We got our food pretty quickly. I enjoyed it! I would much rather come here than an Azteca! Food seemed more authentic, and definitely tasted better too! They have a 2-5 happy hour Monday-Friday and their tacos are only 89 cents! Nice, I'll have to venture back for that deal for sure!!

This place is amazing...it is super hard these days to find a place that makes amazing authentic tacos but this place definitely does!!! Everyone in my office eats here all the time because its so good and you can't beat the $5 quesadilla honestly its so good!!!! :)

  • Hank C.

The food is authentic and tasty, staff is friendly and it's about 1 minute from my office. I've had the carne asada and pastor burritos, and they were great. Only complaint is that they're a bit slow for a 30 min lunch break, but if you don't have any time restrictions, this should be your go to Mexican spot in the area. Oh and the prices are pretty competitive. They're definitely cheaper than Chipotle or Qdobo. Don't forget to grab some extra salsa (red or green). Nice little extra kick for your food.

Fantastic Mexican food. I, like the rest of humanity, have a strong affinity towards Mexican food. This place is top notch. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Tried three different tacos, chicken, spicy pork, and steak. Surprisingly the chicken was my favorite. The carnita gorditas were also perfection. The plates come with a grilled onion which i devoured. This place has a drive through and a salsa bar. I have no idea how i have missed this place while living in Lynnwood for the past couple of months. This place is officially on the rotation!

With Taqueria El Rinconsito, I am torn between great food and agonizingly slow service. Earlier today, reinforced how slow-moving they are. From the time I placed an order through the intercom to the second I received my food, 20 minutes passed. Now, why would it take that effin' long?!?! Isn't this a fast food restaurant? My hunch is the lack of personnel to run the store in an efficient manner. I have been to nearby competing businesses such as Taqueria El Antojo and Memo's. It takes them 1/5 of the time; perhaps, 10 minutes tops. If you prefer to sit idle in your car and waste gas for 15-20 minutes just to gorge on some amazing Mexican cuisine, then, this is the place for you. Time is a valuable commodity. Unless they take drastic measures to reduce wait-time, I am not wasting more precious time in their drive-thru. I guess it is Taco Bell from now on until I find a suitable replacement.

The chicken flautas AMAZING!!!! My hubs get pork Tacos and my grandpa Menudo it has something for everyone and it's authentic IT TASTES REALLY GOOD and makes me miss all the mexican food from California

Time for another update! Tacos have crept up to $1.20 but that's still a great deal. I like getting two asasda tacos and rice and beans which is a great value - $5.43 including tax and it fills me up until dinner time! The steak can be a bit on the tough side sometimes. It just depends on the day. Salsas are great, rice and beans are great. They give you a large portion for $2.50. They serve horchata which I get as a treat sometimes. Not the most glamorous Mexican spot but it's cheap and the food is delicious. Love it.

Based on the reviews, I had higher hopes for this place. I am accustomed to southern California authentic Mexican food. I know it is hard to come close in Washington, but I always think it is worth a try. This was a notch above Taco Time or Taco Bell. I had chicken tacos and my husband had the Carne asada breakfast burrito, both were just fine, but I wouldn't go back again. The place could be cleaner, too.

  • Vivian C.

Delicious and simple, plus great service! It is a little confusing at first because it's like a real resturant but in a fast food place-type space. The cashier will bring the food to you and clear the plates. It can be disorienting but not a problem at all.

Great place to have some authentic low price Mexican food. Carne asda under $12 was awesome! Just wished they had a liquor license for a marg.

Best tacos ever! I come here almost every week. I love the convenience of the drive-thru, and the girls here are super nice. I'd give El Rinconsito 6 stars if I could...

Can't tell by looking at the building... but the food.... it's Awsome!! You will like the service and the food! I am craving it just writing about it. I might have to go there tonight!!

Wonderful horchata and carne asade. This shop has such friendly staff and the food is amazing. I am Mexican and I think this food compares closely to my mom's cooking. I am also a fan of the decor. It also reminds me of home. I love how this place isn't selling out. They don't need to change one bit to please the masses. I love how they have Spanish language TV on as well. So cool!

I eat Mexican a lot, and have had great tacos from Ensenada to LA to Seattle. These were great tacos, much better than I expected from this little fast food style taqueria. The bill was cheaper than I expected but the tacos were rather small, I should have ordered 4 instead of 3. Still it was a great price for delicious food! 6 bucks and change for 3 tacos and a drink, I had beef spicy pork and chicken, all were delicious, no gristle either. I will be back, probably regularly. The juice was really good also.

  • Arly L.

The food here is authentic. It's hard to find a place that serves menudo and pozole in the Seattle area, this place always hits the spot no matter what I order.

  • Sean M.

The best. Friendly service, great food, classic ex-McDonald's lot.. Always get the special ;) they even speak Spanish with me instead of pretending they don't understand.. Usually I'm the only gringo in there.. Lunch is an especially good value.. Les tienen todo! Try the flan for extra yum!

Why it was so hard to find a Mexican restaurant open on Sunday, I don't know. Krystin T. and I wanted Mexican food but the 3 restaurants that we knew of had either shut down or were closed. Awesome. Anyway, this place doesn't look like much from the outside - but I was surprised to find that it had a drive through. It definitely is a step up from Taco Time quality and didn't really feel like fast food to me. When we got there, you go up to the front and order from a board. Then, you sit down and they bring the food to you. (We were confused about this for a while.) We both had the burrito plate. So my review is going to be a little biased because I wasn't feeling great when I came here but to me, the food was just so-so. The rice was a little dry and the burrito sauce was a little sweet for me. However, it is definitely more authentic than somewhere like Azteca. There were only Mexicans in here when we came in which is always a good sign. I'd like to come back and try it again when I'm feeling better.

I came here for lunch with fellow Yelper Sarah M. We had the hardest time finding a Mexican restaurant for some reason, but finally settled on this place. I'm fascinated by their drive-through, although we ate in, and it's definitely a weird juxtaposition of fast food and eat-in service. You order at the front based on menus on the wall, but they bring your food out to you. Interesante! It was okay. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito (which came with rice & beans) and you can't really go wrong with that. My only real complaint was that it wasn't very warm - I wouldn't say it was cold, exactly, but it didn't feel like it had just come out of the oven. Maybe it sat for awhile before they brought it over? It was decent aside from that, and almost all the clientele seemed to be speaking Spanish, which I take as a good sign.

    (3)
  • W B.

Great food and prices. Can be a bit busy but that is a good sign! They also have a drive-thru. Service is very good and they usually say goodbye when you leave. The salsa verde is my favorite.

  • Jenn N.

Love this place for my little corn tortilla tacos with beef, the best tacos ever. When they call out the orders in Spanish you know it's for real.

    (5)
  • Jenn K.

I love the tacos de asada here! So good! I also like the carne asada, but I feel like it can be too greasy. The prices are fair, and they keep the inside fairly clean. The staff is mostly helpful and friendly. PS get the churros it's like $3.50 for a plate of hot yummy churros with ice cream and whipped cream! A steal!

    (4)
  • Amy S.

Great food (I'm a big fan of the pork tacos) and they will make it to order (I don't do onions). The drive through and the happy hour specials on food is great for lunch breaks!

    (5)
  • Hans L.

Great food - we usually go through the drive through which is an experience on its own. Tacos rock, as well as everything else. Only complaint is that they've been out of things before, which really blows when you've got your heart set on a particular item.

Food was decent at best. Enchilada came out cold. More fast food setting than sit down. Service was par.

  • Becca W.

Great service. The manager, Hanna, whom I see often is the best! She has a great memory and is so friendly. The spicy pork is awesome. Get it in tacos or mulitas for a real treat. I love the salsa bar! Spicy pickled carrots, radishes and a cabbage pico de gallo make a feast on their own.

  • Emmy R.

Yum! I can't believe I totally forgot about this place. Thankfully, I've rediscovered it after over a year long hiatus. The food is still as delicious as I remembered and, surprisingly, still pretty cheap. Last time we went, the boy had commented on how it was noticeably cheaper than your standard fast food joints--and tastier! Mulitas, tortas, and gorditas are solid choices, though the tacos are definitely my go-to, with the asada and fried pork as my faves. The place is usually clean, but when it's busy, it can get a bit messy since they have to bus the tables for you. The staff is super friendly, though, and will gladly clear off a table for you quickly if you just ask. There is also a convenient drive-thru, but you'll be missing out on the salsa bar and other complimentary condiments. Overall, Taqueria El Rinconsito is a great place for cheap eats on the fly!

3.5 stars. Drive-through Mexican restaurant. It was very casual (similar interior as McDonald's) and cheap Mexican food. I tried regular burrito, burritos plate, enchiladas a la crema, gorditas and just bun (for torta). Portions are good if you get enchiladas or burrito plate. Don't get just regular burrito. Plate is more bang for the buck. Most people were ordering regular enchiladas so it might be better than other kinds. Mine (with asparagus cream sauce) was OK but not very flavorful. The bun was soft and good. $1. Everything including seafood was under $10. I recommend this place over any other fast food mexican restaurant (taco bell or etc) if you want something quick but satisfying.

  • Karly H.

Really yummy street style tacos. Very authentic and really inexpensive. I'd go back again.

  • Chris D.

I'm gonna keep this short. Carnitas and horchata served in a place that's so decidedly... interesting... you aren't quite sure if you're going to have a bout of Montezuma's Revenge or not. You know what? No Montezuma, delicious carnitas AND the most pleasant hostess behind the counter. We took a chance and we came out winners. Oh and homemade tortillas! HOMEMADE TORTILLAS!

    (4)
  • Bamf A.

So disappointing. Honestly some of the worst Mexican food I've ever been served. It was barely edible. Terrible pozole. My boyfriend LOVES Rinconsito and this place did not hold up to the quality he expected. We will NOT be back!

    (1)
  • Elizabeth T.

I love the fact that this place serves horchata! So hard to find a decent Mexican restaurant that not only serves fresh, authentic Mexican dishes but they serve horchata to go with it! I love how they have a salsa bar. You do not see that around here. I miss that tremendously from the authentic Mexican restaurants in Southern California. This is by far my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Everett area/Greater Seattle metro. I tried the mulita. If I were to describe it, it would be a delicious, savory, and crispy Mexican hamburger. It's any meat of your choosing slowly cooked or grilled paired with ooey gooey cheese, sandwiched between two corn tortillas. I cannot wait to come back here! I have found my new lunch spot!

    (5)
  • David H.

One of the best in town! Just as good as any other Mexican restaurant or taco truck, quick service and drive through is convenient. I would of gave it a 5 star but sometimes they shiest on the hot sauce/salsa, I gotta ask twice for more. I dont use much salsa but when you order $20-30 worth of food, 5 small hot sauces does not do it, especially when you can use 4-6 of them on just one burrito. But most importantly this place is my 1st choice for Mexican.

Been here TWO more times since my last visit. We are slowly conquering the menu! Flautas were a-ok. Flautas in general can be a little bland so if you are afraid of HEAT, you can order these and they are very flavorful. If you like the heat, you can help yourself to the half dozen or so hot sauces at the "sides" bar: radishes, carrots, shredded cabbage, limes and sauces. Saturday is Menudo and Posole night so I had to go. The Posole is VERY hearty. It is served with cabbage, fresh Jalepenos, oregano and dried red chiles. It also comes with fried, potato -filled corn tortillas. If you aren't stuffed after you eat that then fill up on flan and churros. We ordered flan (not tonight but earlier--I could barely walk out of there tonight I was so full) and it was HOT! As in, they had just made it! Hot flan! God it was good! Really, simple food is best and what is better than the tried and true (and reiterated) combo of milk, sugar and eggs? So say you out with 2 of your friends and they each have 2 kids in tow. You could come here, give them all Jarritos soda or Horchata, (I think the brown stuff was Tamarindo) order enough so everyone got something they liked, sit at a booth and watch telemundo, or hide in the back at a table so they could all play on their DSes or text while you and your friends drink the cinnamon flavored coffee. It's a great family place with lots of families. There are lots of singles and couples too. Lots of parking, right across the street from the Convention Center, down the street from Alderwood Mall.

All fast foods are not created equal. This is my favorite chain restaurant. Great food, fast service and very affordable. I always order the mulitas because hot sauces are now upsetting me. I especially like the lingua ( beef tongue) because it has this assertive flavor that I like with out being tough. The condiment bar has pickled carrots which I like. I especially enjoy the test-less radishes as nothing but pallet cleanser.

  • Elizabeth I.

Love this place! Reasonably priced and very generous with meat. Though, they charge extra for cheese which most would think comes standard on AUTHENTIC tacos. Friendly staff, seems to always be same girls working.

Great for on the go :) Wait is a little long, however the staff is pleasant and they treat you very well. You can see that they care for the restaurant and their customers.

Portions were too small and they were cheap about condiments such as guac and sour cream. Food was fine, just not better then most other taquerias and a bit more expensive.

I am used to the Mexican food of the Southwest so this review may be a little biased. The staff here is friendly. The place is clean and does a good business at lunch time. But, alas, the food was just ordinary. Bland rice, runny beans, and dry chicken in the enchilada. Where or where is that great Mexican restaurant in the area?

    (3)
  • Nancy N.

Hubby and I have been coming in here for a few years now. We have a favorite table, the booth for two, right in front of their TV, so we can enjoy one of the fabulous pollo asado dinners while we improve our Spanish! I read here people raving about the horchata--for me, it's all about the jamaica. Prices have gone up significantly in the last 18 months or so but we can't stay away and I rarely get anything but the pollo asado plate. I usually get 2 or 3 more meals out of my dinner, so it's still a good deal. We're in here about twice a month so I resolve to try something else next time. Four stars, but not five, as sometimes I find their quality control to be uneven.

  • Jessica B.

Food was yummy and at a really great price; lunch for 3 (including soft drinks) was under $30. There were seat cradles for infant car seats (which was very convenient for my friend with an infant ). All the staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back.

My boyfriend grew up in & around San Francisco so he was spoiled with a plethora of amazing taquerias and lived off burrios and tortas from the Mission. Since we moved up here, he couldn't find a single place that reminded him of "home." Until this place. FINALLY his craving was satiated (and there's no more bitching about the mexican food here!). AND they have a drive through!?! Whaaat. I've tried both the torta jalisco & regular, the quesadilla, and the horchata. Everything was delicious! The only let-down was that I was hoping for a burrito-sized quesadilla like you can get in SF. Theirs is fuller than your average quesdilla but still "flat" rather than rolled (not sure how else to describe it). Definitely our go-to spot... good prices, they're open until 12am/1am, & our three-year-old gobbles up anything we get him from here.

Not a bad burrito spot at all. Especially good if you are on a budget! $2 burritos from 2-5 on weekdays were an absolute hitter in summertime!

I have struggled to find good Mexican food in the Northwest. I have been to Taqueria El Rinconsito at least a half dozen times now, and I must say they are good. I have had many different menu items. Tacos, burrito, the half chicken, and a few others. The food is always prepared well and seasoned nicely. They have good beans, which believe It or not is hard to find at other Mexican restaurants in the area. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. The interior and food level is a notch above fast food. I wish it was a full blown restaurant, but I am just so happy to have a place nearby with some good Mexican food and they will get a lot of business from me. Also the prices are very affordable.

  • Y T.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! I'm always guaranteed a tasty meal here. I usually get the 5 (or 6...or 7 depending on how gluttonous I am feeling) taco combo with spicy pork! I always tell myself to try other things on their menu, but I just can't stay away from the spicy pork tacos! Stick to what you know...Add avocado for more deliciousness :)

I love coming in here. Usually clean enough, prices are fair, people are nice, and the food is awesome, especially at this price point. That's where the full five stars come in--everything's flavorful, with good depth and complexity of flavor, nice intensity to it. You leave full. I am always looking for ways to expand the roster of cheap eats primarily occupied by pho shops in my world, and Rinconsito definitely does it. Hearing Spanish from all the staff, other patrons, and the tv makes it a little more fun. I love all the salsas and chopped vegetables available as condiments. Great cheap eats.

How have I not written a review for this place yet?!?! Absolutely LOVE this place. I am a huge fan of taco carts, or the good ones at least, at this is the same great price of the taco carts in an old McDonalds building. The best part? The kept the drive-thru. Mmmhmmm, can't beat getting them $0.99 tacos on the go without having to get out of your car! The food is great, the service friendly, and if you eat in you can visit the salsa/condiment bar. I am SO thankful I live nearby. =)

It's been a while since I've been here and after eating there again I asked myself "why so long?" I love the food here. Something about eating food that tastes authentic versus the chain restaurants that really pleases my palette. Had the spicy carnitas burrito and the chicken enchiladas days before. I was a happy camper. I highly recommend this place. It's no frills, but great food and friendly service.

Went here for the first time today, no regrets. The place itself wasn't hard to find, they have a drive-through so if you're short on time this is the place to go. Once inside it seemed like a fast food restaurant take-over. A laid-back scene with a tv up, so if you choose to stay and eat it's a pretty relaxed vibe. Order the enchiladas regulares, enchiladas chipotle, and flautas. I love flautas! Their flautas were on par with a good amount of rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. Service was great, two waitstaff at four cooks. I'm impressed by how quickly they turned out our order, about 10 minutes. I definitely feel as if this is more of a laid-back feel, but considering the cheap prices and quick service I'll definitely be back!

I actually took driver's education, when I was 16, at the Sears Driving School across from this building, which is now occupied by Pho 36. This restaurant did used to be a McDonald's, and it still really reminds me of it's former occupant, since I used to get vanilla cones here during my breaks from driver's ed. It is now occupied by El Rinconsito, and the food here is about as good as the one in Everett under the same name, although I remember the carnitas at the other location was a bit more flavorful and a little more juicy than the ones I got here this weekend. Still, a generous serving of carnitas atop two lil fresh corn tortillas and super fresh onions and cilantro. I ordered Asada for my sister, who is always wary about eating mexican food because it "bothers her stomach", as she says... which you can imagine what that means. I assured her that the real, more authentic tacos were worth the risk. We got our order to-go, and I packed up some of the green tomatillo salsa and some of the shredded cabbage-y stuff at the little condiment bar. We brought our tacos home, and they were still hot and fresh and not soggy at all. And my sister said that her stomach was fine from eating the tacos here, so in summary, they are legit, tasty and affordable. And they won't leave you running to the latrine for extended visits...

Taquera El Riconsito (TER) provides a safe introduction to 'authentic' Mexican food for the average TacoBeller or TacoTimer. There was a time when I frequented this restaurant quite often. The steak, pork, and chicken tacos were amongst my favorite menu items and the quality of the meat is much higher than you'd find at any fast food restaurant. However, in recent years the restaurant has significantly raised its prices, and lowered portions. Now in light of current events (recession), I normally wouldn't complain about this change. But this change becomes glaringly obvious when measured up against TER's main competitors for authentic mexican food: Taco Trucks. Taco trucks (yes, the white mexican trucks with a side window that cooks their food on a grill in the truck) provide the same menu items and food styles as TER. When comparing the quality and taste of taco trucks against TER, I'd say that taco truck food is much better. Furthermore, taco truck tacos average anywhere from $0.75-1.25 per taco. TER has raised the prices of most of their menu items significantly, much more than the cost of your average taco truck. The only advantage that TER really possesses is an actual eating facility and the image of a "clean" restaurant vs a taco truck. But if you're feeling a little adventurous, I'd recommend trying your local taco truck. TER is certainly a good restaurant. Good food with good portions. If TER were the only restaurant of its kind I'd rate them much higher. Taco truck just does the job better.

I discovered Taqueria El Rinconsito while working down at Seatac at the end of the summer. I frequented their Seatac location. This one in Lynnwood is closer to home and a slightly smaller version of their Seatac location. Taqueria El Rinconsito is a well established small chain of taquerias in the greater Seattle area. The menu selection is extensive and they usually have a lunch special. My favorite is the torta Jalisco, a Mexican sandwich. At the drink bar they have a wide selection of beverages including horchata and my favorite tamarind. You'll find the standard salsa bar here, too. Now that I am a fan of Taqueria El Rinconsito I will make this a regular stop in the take-out rotation (others include Taqueria Chenchos).

Love this joint! Horchata is on point. The salsa bar is amazing! Pork and beef tacos are super delicious. I actually discovered this place while attempting to eat at Pho 36, but decided to give it a try on the fly. GLAD I DID!!! Bypass your next trip to Azteca and give this place a try!

I stop by this place a couple of times a month to get take-out on my way home from work. I have a few go-to orders that have never disappointed: Arroz con camarones, the tortas, the mulitas. All delicious. What I would not order again: Arroz con pollo. The chicken was as dry as cardboard and darn near inedible. My only serious complaint about Taqueria el Rinconsito is that I would prefer refried beans as an accompaniment to their (very average) side salad when I order the camarones, and they refuse to substitute.

I didn't even know this place existed tonight. My boyfriend wanted to try it, and I was excited to find that it was a drive through Mexican joint! It's tucked away behind 196th, on the back way to the mall, close to where i5 intersects. The dos mulitas were muy delicioso! I love that this place doesn't skimp on guacamole, one of my favorite condiments. The mulitas are like mini quesadillas, but made from soft corn tortillas that sandwich seasoned chicken, monterey jack cheese, and are additionally slathered with guac. Three plump Tacos can be ordered with rice and beans for around $5. My boyfriend tried the steak tacos, which were tasty but not as good as the mulitas. The rice and beans were flavorful and hearty. Each dish came with two little condiment cups of smokey red chipotle flavored sauce and a spicy green chili sauce. They were good but my mulitas were flavorful enough on their own. A carmelized chipolini onion and a fried jalepeno accompanies the mulitas, and allow a personal adjustment of heat. I couldn't resist trying the flan as well. It did not disappoint with its creamy custard flavor and silky caramelized sugar pooled at its base. Our bill came to only $16. The wait for the food took longer than one would typically wait at a fast food joint, but what we ordered technically isn't really fast food. I enjoyed eating this delicious authentic food, served on paper plates with plastic forks, at home in my sweatpants. It really hit the spot without having to overspend on Americanized Mexican food at a cheesy Mexican restaurant.

This taqueria really has the little corner on the burrito market. According to some, this was originally a McDonald's. So they went ahead and kept the drive-through, which is a plus, if you need a scrumptious bite in a hurry. Nevermind the decor, because their prices and burrito chipotle will keep you coming back for more. I've yet to try their menudo, which is available on the weekends. But you know the place is legitimate when the customers themselves are mostly Spanish-speakers. You put your food where your mouth is. Rincosito: the taq of the town.

Ate in w/ my buddy and food was great, and than I got a to-go order for my wife: a burrito plate that had two huge pubic hairs smack in the middle inside the burrito. Im sure there must be some good explanation for this?? after something like that I cant go back with that in the back of my mind.....

Above average Mexican food and it is more authentic than most. You can taste the freshness of the homemade tortillas. The salsa bar will not disappoint. The carnitas, tacos and carne asada are all good. The burritos are tasty as well. They offer excellent values on the daily specials and usually include a beverage in the price. Most of the clientele is Mexican so that is a vote of authenticity.

Thank you Yelpers! We were looking for good Mexican the other night and checked for recommendations. While I was leery when we drove up to the restaurant, my fears were faded fast when the small tacos made it to our table. We shared 3 steak tacos and a carne asada. The tortillas appear to be handmade and the flavor of the dishes was awesome. When we first came (yep, we've been here twice in one week...), the salsa bar was near empty, but the second time there were plenty of condiments. The first time we came there were only a couple of customers and there were Mexican soap operas playing loudly on the t.v.. On the second visit the place had many customers and the Mexican music videos were playing loudly. Despite it's shortcomings in the ambiance arena, the food is excellent and authentic. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

I think this place was pretty good. I got a lengua burrito. I think that's the first time I've had lengua outside of a taco, but it was quite tasty, I don't think you can ever go wrong with having lengua in your mexican food. The rice they use was the mexican rice. In terms of quantity of food, I felt like I got a lot of food for the dollar. I could of probably of split the burrito into 2 meals and felt good. I think next time I come back, i'll try some of their other dishes. I wasn't a big fan of paying an extra dollar for chips, but I ended up getting them anyways because I feel like it's staple of a mexican food restaurant. I really enjoyed the salsa bar they had at the restaurant. They had a lot of different options for salsa. That really made the ok experience a lot better. Overall a good experience a 3.5 but not a 4 star in my book.

So, I am from Cali and have been very sad about the Mexican food available in the Seattle area, however, El Rinconcito has changed my mind. I have gone there several times and it has been yummy every single time. My husband loves the horchata and the churros are delicious. I highly recommend eating there!

Simple and tasty Mexican Food. The tacos here were pretty good- I had the carnitas and lengua tacos. They were really tasty....I remember it was 4 tacos for 7.15 (which is kind've a lot in my opinion). Small, but simple.....I think I've had places with more quantity, but there was something about the taste here that I really liked. Could it be the portions and the taste leaving an aftertaste of wanting more? Or maybe the carnitas were just so well seasoned and not dry...could be the lengua was very tasty.... and also because the tacos simple themselves. I can't exactly put my finger on why they are so tasty.... but I'm still thinking I could eat a couple more right now....

Taqueria el Rinconsito is super close to my place in Lynnwood, open pretty late, and satisfies my craving for Torta regularly. They take an interesting spin on Torta, my favorite Mexican sandwich, in the Torta Jalisco. In addition to normal toppings, you get avocado and chorizo (in addition to the meat of your choice). It's pretty cheap and service is usually really good. The restaurant is pretty clean with Univision on at all times. Sometimes the soap opera's can be annoying, but its so close I usually get it to go. The only reason this place doesn't get a five is the salsa bar. It really could use some cleanliness/freshness makeover. The pico de gallo routinely looks like its been out for days.

You know those holy-roller church types you see on TV? "I HAVE EXORCISED THE DEMONS!! BE GONE!!!" Yeah, that was my feeling towards every other Mexican place around the greater Seattle area once I was introduced to his spot. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I have no problem admitting this (even though it will make me sound like a fatty), but before I moved, I was eating here 2-4x/week because I loved it so much (and this was over a time period of a year). I am actually moving back to WA and this is the first thing I plan to do once home. Not say hi to friends or family, but go directly here hahaha. I have literally had EVERYTHING on the menu and have yet to find one thing I dislike. Top 3 Favorite things: - Burrito plate (EXCELLENT FOR HANGOVERS) - The Tacos (sits light but is filling and satisfying) - Sopitos (just damned tasty) They have some great people that work here and are extremely friendly. Things to know about here: - Gets a bit hectic during lunch. They do have drive-thru if you do not want to wait. - Sundays are F'ING CRAZY. They have 2 churches in the same shopping complex as them, so dont come here till after 3pm. Its not worth the fight for parking or the line in the restaurant. *** If you want to go with a big group of people (8+), I would recommend going to the Everett location. Their location is more accommodating for large groups.***

Yessss!! This is where I will be going any time I have a taco craving from now on. The cabeza was soft and juicy and delicious but my favorites so far were the carne asada and carintas. The tortillas are perfectly sized, not too small and not too large. They are also the perfect thickness, sometimes the doubled up tortillas are just too much tortilla for me but these were great, also they had some nice crispiness from the griddle. The meats were flavorful and moist. The onions and cilantro were fresh. I absolutely loved the fried jalapeno and the hot sauce bar had a ton of great options. I can't say I've had tacos this good out here except out in Eastern Washington.

Having Hispanic roots its hard to go out and have mexican food, there are soo many bad imitations of mexican food but taqueria El Riconsito is the best I have had in Washington. Cant wait to have their menudo and give it a higher raiting.

i don't know what i ordered, because i don't speak/read spanish, and i just pointed at the picture! it was the special..and it was a something-something enchilada..with beans and rice for 5.79....regular tacos are 79cents each, and are super delicious. personally, i think the tacos are pricey for their size, but i guess it'll never compare to mexico...other than that, everything else is reasonably priced, and make my tastebuds happy!

This place is awesome, it's cheap and authentic Mexican food even though it's a chain restaurant. There are quite a few other locations around the Seattle area and I've also been to the one in Bellevue next to Skate King and the one in Burien/White Center. The Lynnwood one is close to home so we tend to stop by here quite frequently for take out. I always get the daily special which changes but it's usually a enchilada or burrito plate with rice, beans and a drink for only $5.99 plus tax. We then also get the shredded beef tacos as well, which are currently 79 cents each so they are a steal. If you want authentic Mexican food and want to eat at a place besides a taco truck, this is it for us in the north end.

I ate here at least 4 times in the first week I was told about this place. This place is GOOOOOOOD! So good it hurts. I use to love the taco bus next to microsoft, but this place has won a permanent place in my heart. The place is full of Latinos- which is a good sign if you are going to a Mexican joint- it's delish! Always a good sign if you are eating at a ethnic place to look for the people who look like they should be in there, if they are- it's good ! The tacos are cheap, small, but tasty. And the grilled jalapeno is my favorite part! They also have a variety of sauces, not spicy enough for my palate but good. I LOVE the Torta Jalisco (sp?) get it with Chorizo & asada- it's hard to find good chorizo, and oh my gatos its sooo good there! They also have cabeza, which is so tender and delish! I really think everyone should try it. It's the meat from the beef head/cheek- and might gross some ppl out, but I'm telling you try it and you will thank me, if you don't like it-something is wrong with you. The lengua kinda smells, I love lengua but I don't recommend getting it here- sorry, the smell isn't too bad, but I like when they cook it long enough to not smell anything. Its sooo good I've brought my sister, friends and my brother food from this place. All this typing of how good it is making me hungry! I think I'm gonna go get me some tacos.

After practically licking my to-go plate clean, I decided to check to make sure that Yelp had done my friends at Rinconcito justice. Not too shabby, but they could use another stellar review, so here I go... I stumbled upon this restaurant in Kent many moons ago, and have been in love ever since! Imagine my excitement when I found one just down the street from my house in Lynnwood! I don't know what they put on/in their carne asada, but it beats any other restaurant around, hands-down. And believe me, I would know. I've pretty much sampled the carne asada at every mexican restaurant in the Seattle area, looking for something that compares. No luck. If Azteca is your thing, this place may be a little too "authentic" for you, but if you love mexican food, and don't mind that the person taking your order actually speaks spanish (I prefer it this way!) then give Rinconcito I try! You won't be disappointed.

So we strayed from our usual Taqueria and truck. I think I found a new favorite place! Combos Carnitas for me, and Carne Asada for the Mr, and tacos with adobada to share. The salsa bar was well stocked, and I loved that they provide plates for you condiments. I loaded mine with the pickled carrots, radish and 2 types of salsas. Our food came out fairly quickly, or so it seemed since we were watching futbol (soccer to some) big match, USA vs Mexico. We were surprised by the huge platters that came out. The carnitas were nicely fried and yum! Tasted some of the carne asada, and it was was nicely cooked and very flavorful. The tacos were also pretty good! The staff are very friendly and patient, and it was nice that they come by to check up on you and clear your dishes. The place we usually go to has been a BYOT (Bus Your Own Table). Prices are pretty wallet friendly and you walk out a belly full of goodness. Like they say during the futbol games GOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLL!

There are no better carne asada tacos to be found outside of Mexico, in my experience. The gorditos, enchiladas, salsa bar, etc are also fantastic. This place brings me back to being in Mexico every time I'm in there and those are great memories for me. The only thing that could make this place better? Being next door to/inside my house.

Enjoyed the lengua and cabeza tacos. Good rice and beans. Delicious horchata. Tortas. Salsa bar with pickled jalapenos, radishes, etc. Solid taco truck fare at reasonable prices. Much better than the McDonalds that used to be there. Bonus: It has a drive-thru!

Having been to the Mission District in San Francisco and various places in LA (king taco, tacos don chente, etc.), I know a good taco when I eat one and Rinconsito can hold their own against SF and LA. Is it the best taco I've had ever? Maybe not but it's definitely one of the better places. Very cheap prices too. I got the spicy pork taco with a side of horchata all for around $3!

What you get on the inside is exactly what it looks like on the outside. We were put off when we drove up, but kept on because of Yelpers comments that the food is good despite appearances. Inside I got scared again by the cheap look and bad smell, but we decided to try the food. I should have trusted my gut. Maybe this place is a step up from Taco Bell, but it is still a cheap-o junk food place. It's basically the Panda Express of Mexican food. My husband and I got enchiladas, and the sauce was a congealed, over-processed mess. The chicken was OK, but there was this weird taste over the whole thing, and I couldn't get over the sauce having the texture of that stuff on orange chicken. If it was cheap maybe this would be OK, but for about $2 more I had gotten a similar sized portion of FABULOUS Mexican food at Frida's in Mill Creek. Will never return. My husband and I both left most of the food on our plate, and still felt sick to our stomachs an hour later.

No. You won't like it. You should stay away. (So the lines stay fast and i can score one of the few tables). So delish. I like the enchiladas, the carne asada, the rice and beans...Always hits the spot. Always.

I have eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed the food both times. First time we did drive thru, second time we ate in. I can't remember what my dish was called, but I seem to recall it being a chicken burrito plate of some sort. Also, took my mom who is not the most adventurous eater and they were able to customize the ingredients to her tastes. Really good, quick food... I don't want to say fast food because of the connotation that it's bad. It's definitely not. We will go again and again!

When it comes to Mexican food, your better off in Mexico or California Thankfully, Tacqueria el Rinconsito is the best spot the Seattle area has to offer. Although the food is more akin to southwest Mexican food (ie. Arizona, New Mexico) the ingredients and methods of preparation really show. Meat has layers of flavor, the Horchata tastes right, and the service is good or better. Nothing can go wrong on this menu (except rice and beans in burritos, YUCK) and you'll be surprised how much you come back here. Feeling authentic? Try their flautas. They're pretty close. Anything with carne asada is a good start too. Shredded beef, and chicken are also solid. Note: If Mexico City is a 5 out of 5, this place would be a 3. The extra star is because there really isn't any good Mexican food in the Northwest.

Deliciouso! I felt like eating Mexican around 10 am on a Saturday and had to come on here to find out what was open that morning. Came upon this restaurant and noticed the ratings. I have to say I even went the next day cause it was that good. The first time I went I ordered a few tacos and an order of mulitas. I decided to try all the different types of meats but the asada is definitely the winner. the tacos were tasty and filled nicely with meat, but the mulitas is where its at. basically mini quesidillas but nothing lacking in taste. The first trip I thought it was good, but not too great. The next day I felt like going again... hehe I go through phases of wanting to eat certain things all the time. This time I opted to get a burrito with carne asada, added guacomole and sour cream. The guac was a good add but the sour cream wasn't necessary in my book. Man this burrito was soo good. I really like their asada, its super tasty. Which is the reason I bumped this review to four stars! I will definitely make another trek up there this weekend and try their chicken platter. Looks delicious, but I may even be tempted to just stick to something with asada. All the choices!

Authentic Mexican food with low-key atmosphere that feels "everyday comfortable". I agree with other reviews that it is one-step better than fast food...you order at the counter and they bring the food...or you can drive up to the window. The food is always excellent. I always order the tacos with carne asada and carnitas. They have such a large menu, it is hard to choose. My husband ordered pozole, a spicy chicken soup and horchata. It's great for a quick meal (and importantly) off the beaten track away from the crowds at the mall. You get a lot of food for not a whole lot of $$.

My boyfriend showed me this place about 2 years ago, and after ordering some of their little tacos, I immediately fell in love haha The only problem I had with the place is the fact that it's a chain, I thought it was just another mom & pop spot, which added on to the genuine feeling I had for the place. It's fine though, I enjoy their prices and dishes. I go back every once in a while just to have those delicious tacos and hot sauces :)

The closest thing to taco truck food that I've found in Washington. Seeing this place empty but then seeing people in Guaymas is terrible. It's cheaper, tastier, and has better food quality. It's the closest thing to what a taco should actually look like. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love me a big-ass taco just like every other American-bred barely Mexican dude but all you need is a little bit or marinated meat, onion, cilantro, and CORN tortilla. But only three stars cuz you can get it way better in SoCal.

VEGETARIAN REVIEW: I love to review tiny establishments that would go out of business without word-of-mouth reviews. This one is pretty authentic, as far as Seattle-based Mexican goes. You have your 12-item salsa and lime bar, your picture menu, and your non-English-speaking staff. There aren't many veggie choices on the menu, but fear not, if you speak a little Spanish and don't act like a haughty American, you can eat well. I always order veggie fajitas, and by now they know me, so they whip out the fresh red peppers, chilis, carrots, onions, etc. I think vegetarianism is a little creepy for them, but they only charge me $4.99 for the entire platter. Combine this with some fresh horchata or tamarindo, and you've got yourself a little slice of Mexico. Especially nice for me since they don't mind children.

I love this place because their tacos are yummy and cheap! I really like the horchata too. The food comes out quick as well. Pricing is not bad for what you get. I like the Lynnwood and the Federal Way locations. They are open late on weekdays and even later on weekends, so that is always a big plus when i'm having cravings! Minus one star because the eating area can be dirty/messy sometimes...

No. You won't like it. You should stay away. (So the lines stay fast and i can score one of the few tables). So delish. I like the enchiladas, the carne asada, the rice and beans...Always hits the spot. Always.

This place is great and is open til midnight on the weekends. Oh yeah, you can watch Mexican TV inside while waiting for your food. I love Latina actress booty.

We attend one of the churches that shadows this place and they treat us SO well, many a wednesday night I'm running to church and this is my stop on the way in (thank you drive thru!) fun running into church family and such.

So cool!

Bomb af. Real carne, 100% authentic mexican food. On top of the food, service was impeccable

Went here today with influence from Yelp and was disappointed. the food was sub par and nothing special. Cold and bland.

The food here is authentic. It's hard to find a place that serves menudo and pozole in the Seattle area, this place always hits the spot no matter what I order.

The food was pretty good, but Maria's big smile and friendly service is what I will remember about my experience at Taqueria El Rinconsito! Very infectious positive vibes. Love it!

Food was decent at best. Enchilada came out cold. More fast food setting than sit down. Service was par.

Great food and prices. Can be a bit busy but that is a good sign! They also have a drive-thru. Service is very good and they usually say goodbye when you leave. The salsa verde is my favorite.

Love this place for my little corn tortilla tacos with beef, the best tacos ever. When they call out the orders in Spanish you know it's for real.

A steal!

Great food (I'm a big fan of the pork tacos) and they will make it to order (I don't do onions). The drive through and the happy hour specials on food is great for lunch breaks!

  • Hans L.

Great food - we usually go through the drive through which is an experience on its own. Tacos rock, as well as everything else. Only complaint is that they've been out of things before, which really blows when you've got your heart set on a particular item.

Good price with big portion. This place is busy.

Really yummy street style tacos. Very authentic and really inexpensive. I'd go back again.

  • Bamf A.

So disappointing. Honestly some of the worst Mexican food I've ever been served. It was barely edible. Terrible pozole. My boyfriend LOVES Rinconsito and this place did not hold up to the quality he expected. We will NOT be back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
