I am not sure if comments from the owners are available for Yelp members to see, so I am posting the Braeburn's return comment to me here. Before I paste its content, I must say I did not make two reviews under two names. My companion reviewed this experience, as well. We don't share all opinions, but we were pretty much in agreement about this particular morning. Fellow Yelpers - do you want to eat somewhere where people talk this way? "1/10/2015 It is out of character for me to respond to reviews this way, but I think this particular review warrants a very frank response. I'm not sure which review to reply to, since everything was apparently SO terrible, that you decided to review us twice, under 2 different names??? Michelle S. & A K. Your first review says you are "completely over restaurants that can't make potatoes for me that don't have onions and garlic in them. I am willing to wait. Don't tell me they're already prepared. Get out a potato, cut it up, and cook it. This is not too much to ask when someone is willing to wait." OR as you also put it (AK) "I really find it a travesty when a restaurant cannot accommodate the most simplest request for something as basic as plain potatoes. I'm allergic to both garlic and onions. They put both in their breakfast potatoes. Seriously? I could cut up a potato in one minute and fry it up custom to make a customer content. yeah.... you offer fruit. Yay for you. It's not the same as potatoes". Here's my advice: STAY HOME AND COOK YOUR OWN POTATOES! I apologize if that seems harsh, however, I would put good money on the fact that 99% of the restaurants that make breakfast potatoes or hash browns (from scratch) put both garlic and onion, or at least one or the other, in their potatoes. It is truly unfortunate that you can't have either, because they are both delicious, especially in potatoes. But more to the point, are you seriously suggesting that we should stop everything to cut up a raw potato and... what? set aside a burner for 20 minutes to cook you one order of a special batch of bland potatoes to go with your omelet? We are happy to accommodate MOST special requests. MOST dietary restrictions, etc... however, stopping everything to "cut up a potato in one minute and fry it up custom to make a customer content" (your words) or "Get out a potato, cut it up, and cook it" (more of your words of wisdom) when it means we're taking up a full burner in the middle of service in our very tiny kitchen, well, clearly, you are not familiar with how a kitchen actually operates. I'm sure you'll have something to say to the contrary, but that's okay. So again, in response to your words in AK review "And - fix me some GD potatoes the way I like 'em. Thank you very much.", I say again, Fix your own GD potatoes the way you like 'em. Thank you very much. As for the item that we were temporarily out of, our seared oats, yes... that sometimes happens. It is not that we hadn't managed ourselves properly, it's that we happened to sell a whole bunch of seared oats that morning and ran out. We can't have endless supplies of absolutely everything on hand, at any given second. There are storage and space constraint, there's the issue of wanting to keep everything as fresh as possible and eliminating waste, there are many components. There is no rhyme or reason as to what item will randomly sell more than others one morning but not the next... there is no formula to follow.... we literally will sell 1 seared oatmeal (or insert whatever menu item here of your choice) one day, and then sell 20 the next. That is not something that we have power over, or control, so once in awhile you will come across a menu item that is being remade and restocked and is temporarily unavailable. If this is the first time you have ever run into this situation, you are either not paying attention when you go places, or you have forgotten, or you have a magical restaurant kitchen fairy that follows you around and sprinkles magical kitchen fairy dust when you go out to eat that magically makes everything completely stocked and available at all times. If that's the case, kudos, my friend. You should really bottle some of that and sell it. You could make millions. Regarding the banana bread- I'm glad you enjoyed it and that you thought it was delicious. Thank you! And on a serious note, I really do apologize if it was grilled too long and burnt. That is something that should not have left the kitchen and been delivered to your table, and I will address that. I hope you let your server know so they could get you a fresh order, or at least discount your bill accordingly. Thank you for taking note that we do use care in preparation of our ingredients and menu items. We really do. I am sorry that we didn't earn a second chance from you, and that we were so disappointing. It really is our aim to please, given that the requests are within a realistic realm of expectation."

Delicious locally sourced aka organic food! Best breakfast I have had on Whidbey Excellent quality across the board. Omelette was delicious, chicken apple sausage was flavored to perfection. Blueberry + granola pancake was off the chain! Highly recommend!!

We got in around 3pm on a Saturday and the server immediately states they close at 4pm (which should've been our first clue) but said we can still have a seat. So we did. Took a quick glance at the menu and I decided on a half meat loaf sandwich and half Caesar (about $11). I was expecting the meat loaf sandwich to be awesome (because how can you go wrong with meat loaf right?).. Welps, somehow they managed to do it. For some reason, the meatloaf tasted kind of sweet (but nothing noticeable like raisins or berries) and I noticed lots of huge chunks of bread in the meatloaf (where's the meat in MEATloaf?). The best thing might've been the Caesar but I wouldn't drive up from Seattle for this place. It was just mehhh. Nothing outstanding.

Went there with the family today and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was fantastic including a warm welcome for our dog (they brought a bowl of water for him as soon as we were seated). We got the tuna melt, Saratoga omelette and buttermilk pancakes and they were all delicious. Update: we loved it so much, we went there the following day and this time we got - the pesto chicken sandwich, huevos rancheros, grilled vegetable hash and the soup of the day (potato, leak and artichoke soup). Loved them all. And oh btw, they give your dog a piece of bacon if you like!

Pros: mimosa in a mason jar, friendly service, cute decor and some variety on the menu. I don't have any cons about this place. The food was okay. I got the quick combo with a pancake. It's eggs, bacon and pancakes people, not too much to complain about as long as all three things came out on the plate. The food was cool. Would I run to this place from the ferry? Probably not BUT if I were a local and looking for a decent breakfast that won't break the bank, I'd stop by and leave happy.

This place should not be missed if you are in Langly. I went there twice on our weekend excursion because once was not enough for me. The first time I had the grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. But this was no ordinary grilled cheese, this sandwich was made with raisin bread.... what?! Crazy but so good! Creamy, gooey cheese with a bit of sweetness from the bread. Delightful! We came back for brunch the next day. It was packed and we had to wait for awhile but that's expected for good brunch spots. They have a strawberry rhubarb bread that is to die for and again my meal was awesome & unique. If you are looking for a place with good, classic food with a creative touch, this the place for you. I'll be back for sure.

New ownership since the last time I visited 4 years ago. Brunch was great. Service is a bit slow but they have coloring books for the kids and are next door to a great glass blowing place. The French toast with cream cheese and apples was decadent and to die for. Omelets were also delicious. Kids meals offered great portions for both breakfast and lunch options. Yummy coffee as well. The service is friendly and helpful. Great stop for a Langley visit!

Pretty good place to eat. The menu is pretty limited and the things on the menu are very basic. The food is very good, but nothing special. Probably a little overpriced based on the quality. The interior restaurant is very nice, but the patio is a little cramped. There is only one bathroom and you need a key to access it. The service is outstanding. All things considered, a pleasant dining experience.

Deceptive wait list..,. We were told the wait was under 30 min to be seated, when in fact, we weren't seated for an hour and 20 min. Fair enough, since we could have left at any point. The wait turned farcical however, when we were finally seated, waited 10 min for coffee, then we're told our food order could not even be taken for another 15-30 min because the kitchen was too backed up to prepare our food yet! Over 2 hours to even place an order? We decided not to wait to find how long before food actually appeared on the table. Headed down the road to eat in Greenbank. Giving it one star for the decent coffee they finally placed in front of us.

I am updating my review from 2 stars to 3 stars. The reason is that the owner did email me and offer to make it right, as well as post a reply to my comment on Yelp. We still stand by our review and everything that we said as that was our actual experience, but definitely appreciate the owner trying to make it right. It shows she is very conscientious about her business and wants to fix problems as they come to her attention, as well as prevent future problems from arising. I would have preferred less reasons from her as to why things happened the way they did, as they tend to sound somewhat defensive and more like excuses, but we do appreciate that she cares so much about her business. We wish her a lot of luck in this business and will probably give them another try on a future visit to Whidbey Island.

Seriously yummy breakfast and Bloody Mary. The Saratoga was delicious. Service was friendly, patient and professional although quite slow at first even though they weren't very busy, but they made up for it over the course of the visit. Lovely glassware from the neato glassblowing studio next door.

Everything about Braeburn's was 5 star worthy except the service speed. We went on Mother's Day and there was a 40 min wait. No big deal since this was our first time in Langley and we used that time to get sweets n gelato. After being seated and ordering, we had to wait another 45 minutes for food. That is extremely slow for brunch, but it did sound like they were training new cooks in the kitchen. I was tempted to give this place 3 stars but the food really made up for the long wait. The staff were all friendly, but it did seem like they were rushing the diners a bit to make up for the slow service.

We love you Braeburn! Today we enjoyed a delicious lunch with wonderful service and nice ambiance. We had the caprese sandwich with a side of potato salad and the pot roast sandwich with a side of roasted potatoes. Everything was just right. We're lucky to have a sweet spot like this in our sweet town :) I wouldn't change a thing.

The food was fine but the service was horrible. I can't remember the last time I've had service so bad. We waited for 45 minutes when the hostess said it would be 15. Our server was not attentive and was busy chatting with coworkers. It wasn't even that busy. Overall it wasn't worth it.

ADA by Rear right door. We enjoyed wonderful, fluffy and tasty Omelets, (SEE PHOTO) Our server was quick, he knew the menu well and we will be back. This is a good place to eat in a comfortable and warm environment without being hurried. In general we enjoyed our hours in Langley, with its water views, unique shops, and adequate parking....the town even has a good restroom that is ADA friendly.

Disappointing at most. I really find it a travesty when a restaurant cannot accommodate the most simplest request for something as basic as plain potatoes. I'm sensitive to both garlic and onions. They put both in their breakfast potatoes. Seriously? I could cut up a potato in one minute and fry it up custom to make a customer content. yeah.... you offer fruit. Yay for you. It's not the same as potatoes. The banana bread appetizer we ordered was delicious but burnt. The burnt bits were pretty nasty. And......if you really are someone who is into sugar in the raw...good luck. They mix the raw sugar in with the refined sugar. Sort of defeats the purpose, right? The staff is pretty nice, but.... ask me if I want coffee before filling it up. I already had it fixed up the way I liked it. Geeze. And - fix me some GD potatoes the way I like 'em. Thank you very much. I'd just have to say this place isn't worth the wait when the wait is thirty. ---- For some reason the owner of this restaurant has decided that Michelle S. and myself are the same person. Sorry to say that she's wrong. Sorry to say that she's digging her own hole with her banter.

Stopped in and sat at the counter... Mac and Steven were absolutely amazing! Gave us great service while still attending other tables. The food was fantastic, had the Salmon Benedict and the Crab Benedict. Everyone was friendly and definitely will come back! Thanks guys!!

Shorter than expected wait time on Valentine's Day! We had a lovely time with great food and service. Even though they were clearly busy, we didn't feel rushed or as if we had to wait too long for food! My build your own omelette was perfect and the fruit tasted really fresh! We'll be back!!

Pleasantly surprised by this little outdated, homey gem. My toddler and I stopped in for lunch- I had the spinach salad with grilled chicken and she had the buttermilk pancake. Both were fresh, large portions and very good. Waitress was very friendly, although obviously spread thin and rushing. Took off one star for salad coming out missing one of its main ingredients and for the homemade blueberry dressing being pretty flavorless.

We've had breakfast here a few times and it's been pretty good each time. I had a spinach, cheese, tomato and mushroom omelette. I forgot to ask for cheese so they kindly took it back and added cheese and accidentally forgot about it and it was accidentally burnt. They apologized and brought me a new one and took good care of me. It was me after all who forgot to order cheese with it. Great location and fair prices. We will return again and have breakfast here in the future.

Since moving to Whidbey we have been to the Braeburn for breakfast a dozen times, love the atmosphere, and the wait staff, especially Steve, but all are really nice. The breakfast is delicious, zucchini breakfast bread was yummy and their homemade apple butter takes me back to childhood. Stop by your tummy will be happy.

Nothing like a cozy restaurant that has great food and excellent service. There was nothing disappointing about the veggie hash or the nw scramble. Everyone from the hostess to the people working in the back were friendly.

Ordinary, but service is pleasant and portions are (generally) big - thus making it a solid 3 stars. We came here after a virgin foray into glass-blowing a Callahan's Firehouse next door. I ordered the biscuits and gravy served with 3 poached eggs and home fries. The sausage gravy was rich and tasty but the biscuits were very dry and kind of dense. The poached eggs were also overcooked. Home fries were good though. My husband's corned beef mash (yes, mashed potatoes) was good, but the portion was surprisingly small in comparison to everyone else's. Our friend's breakfast burrito was pretty much a Clydesdale as burritos go - it was so gigantic that there must have been at least 6 eggs in it. He ate it all. Another friend went the adventurous route with the Okanagan omelette stuffed with apples, cheddar, and onions. She liked it as much as you can like eggs stuffed with apples (ok, apparently it was quite good). Portions, with the exception of the mash, were gigantic. I'd recommend this place for an all-American brunch.

What a delightful little restaurant! I came here this past weekend when we were trying to get a little taste of Whidbey Island after spending most of the visit tied up in wedding stuff. We had stepped into the rare books shop next door (which is also really great) and decided to stop for a bite to eat. The food was delicious, and all of us had a really hard time deciding what to order since everything sounded so wonderful. Both soups of the day sounded great, so they brought out a small bowl for us to sample each (a curry coconut chickpea, and an apple and parsnip soup). I ended up getting the "Choose 2" with curry chickpea soup and a half curry chicken salad sandwich. It was great--and the bowl of soup was large (I was expecting a small cup). My friend and her sister both got the goat cheese quesadilla, which was enormous (and really good--she let me try a bite!). Apparently the ceasar was also really good, as well as the potato salad. I liked that they had so many different options for sides, etc. Service was a little on the slow side, but friendly. We also loved the gorgeous hand blown glasses that they served our drinks in--and were delighted to realize that they were made next door, in the old Firehouse building. The atmosphere was pretty casual and laid-back, and it seemed like a good spot for families. The bathroom was outside and around the corner (which could be annoying if the weather was bad). All in all, a very cute and very tasty spot for lunch!

We had lunch here yesterday and all four of us enjoyed our selections. My son had the root beer BBQ pork and ate it all. My mom had the spinach salad and loved it. My husband got the California omelet which was delicious but didn't care for the spicy breakfast potatoes. I had the French toast with apples and cream cheese which was delicious. The coffee and Mocha were both excellent. The server was very friendly although he forgot to bring our waters and one of the drinks we ordered and we had to ask him again. They were very busy at that time. We would all definitely return here and would recommend it to others.

Living on south Whidbey Island there aren't many places to eat for breakfast. The Braeburn seemed like one worth trying. The location is peaceful, slightly near the water. They also have vegetarian options which is great. There was no wait, which was surprising for a Sunday around brunch. Once ordering it took a little while to get our food, but that was expected. I ordered a Farmhouse Scramble (with no ham) which comes with home style potatoes and toast of your choice for about $10. The only downside about The Braeburn was that being a vegetarian, I found a chunk of ham (about the size of a quarter) in the middle of my scramble. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but it was appalling. I would defiantly eat here again because everything else was great and hope that it wouldn't happen again. The lunch also sounds like it would be wonderful.

Cute, homey spot with big breakfasts served all day and outdoor seating in the back. The biscuits & gravy is delicious: it's hearty sausage gravy with a nice spicy kick. Corned beef mash was also very good. Friendly service too!

Came in late afternoon and immediately smiled at all the pet art work on the walls. We ate outside, even though there was light construction going on, it was still peaceful and a nice quaint setting. We had a light lunch with a spinach salad and half a meat loaf sandwich, both incredibly fresh and flavorful! A true surprise of a place. Server was polite and prompt. A must visit when your in town.

Honestly the worst service I've ever experienced!! We were a party of three and we had to wait 35 minutes because we had to wait for the tables to be cleaned off!! There were 3 tables available but apparently they had no one to clear them off. After we got seated we waited another 15 minutes just for the waiter to ask us what we wanted to drink. We finally got up and left. We will never come back to this place again.

Such a great selection with good food that we ate here 4x in three days. Gluten free French toast is available too! They also have GF bread available for sandwiches. They serve both breakfast and lunch the entire time they are open. Super friendly servers. We'll be back!!

Guess we hit them up on a good day. We came in about 11:30 so some of us got breakfast and some of us got lunch. The veggie hash was great! The biscuit it was served with looked so promising, but was actually pretty yucky (dry, dense, blech). Pancakes and bacon were a hit with the kiddo. Dining companion had the mac & cheese of the day- which she liked but wish for less mac & cheese and more salad.

Food is just ok and bill was $36 for three people at lunch. Best thing we had was the triple decker grilled cheese with raisin bread and bacon. Good to split because very rich. Tomato soups were ok but not hearty. Recommend cup over bowl because not tasty enough for the larger portion. Will try somewhere else for lunch next time.

Day one of our Whidbey Island New Year's vacation got off to a promising start when we decided to eat lunch at the Breaburn Restaurant in downtown Langley. Unfortunately, the restaurant never quite lived up to its early promise with three of the four of us leaving substantial portions of our food uneaten. More on that shortly. The Breaburn presents itself as darling small town store front, and the immediate welcomes from three employees made us feel right at home. A table had just opened up and we were able to be seated within minutes. Our first pass of the menu was full of interesting options, accentuated by the fact that breakfast is available all day. Right off the bat the service was terrific. Waters, drink orders, smiles...hey I think I'm gonna like this small town style. The four of us ordered an eclectic mix of food: Saratoga Omelet, Seared Oatmeal, Pot Roast Sandwich, Soup and Salad. Let's break it down. Saratoga Omelet: Described on the menu as "Sliced avocado, sauteed mushrooms, red onions, diced tomatoes, spinach and Montrachet goat cheese." Sounds delicious, right? Unfortunately it was maybe the worse omelet I've ever had in my life. The omelet itself had WAY too much spinach mixed with the eggs. I'm not a big spinach guy to begin with, but in moderation it's fine. Unfortunately, moderation was nowhere to be seen in the kitchen and the mix was approximately one part egg, one part spinach. That was nothing compared to the filling which was a soupy, goopy mess of bleech. Seriously, whose idea was it to run everything though the Cuisinart before adding to the omelet? Seared Oatmeal: "Oatmeal cooked with honey, brown sugar and cinnamon, sliced into slabs, lightly seared on both sides to a slight crisp, while retaining a creamy consistency inside." Imagine oatmeal meatloaf. Unfortunately my wife neglected to note that it was cooked with cinnamon, which she is mildly allergic to. She had a few bites, but oddly found it both "too bland and too rich." (I know, that sounds slightly contradictory to me too, but in the interest of marital happiness, I'm not gonna push it.) Soup and Salad: The soup was so spicy that darling daughter had to add some water from her glass to try to cut it a bit. It didn't work and the soup went essentially untouched. Pot Roast Sandwich: The boy really enjoyed his sandwich. This was the only clear success of the entire meal. Oddly, once the food arrived, the service all but ended. No water or coffee refills, no ketchup for my potatoes, no "how's everything"? Even when one of the employees cleared our plates there was no acknowledgement of all the food remaining. Total excluding tip, $49.19. We really wanted to like this restaurant, but walked out disappointed. Even as I started writing this review, I wanted to give the Braeburn three stars, but in my heart, it was really only worthy of two. Here's hoping for a better discovery in the coming days of our Whidbey Island adventure. Health Department Report When available, I've decided to add records from the Dept of Public Health to my restaurant reviews, however, Island County, WA apparently does not have those records online.

Our experience here today was disappointing but I highly doubt it is typical and I have to say I would give this place another shot if we are ever back in the area. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, which was absolutely expected for 11:30am on a gorgeous sunny Sunday. Plus it gave us time to wander the awesome glass blowing studio next door. I love that the restaurant uses the hand blown glasses from the studio next door. We ordered the eggs Benedict special and the brioche French toast special. They ran out of the peach compote for the French toast, but our waitress let us know as soon as she knew and they were doing blueberries and whip cream instead, totally fine. The French toast was yummy and the fruit side was fresh. My eggs bennie was good, egg was runny like I wanted, ham was good and the sauce was good, though it could have had more of it. The side potatoes were very good. The biscuit.....sorry but it was terrible. I wanted to try something new and got the biscuit instead of an English muffin. It was very tough and heavy, not fluffy at all. And it wasn't a biscuit cut it half, it was plopped on top of whole biscuits. Here is where our experience was less than 4 and 5 star. We waited. And waited. And waited. Our waitress even came by and apologized twice and said she didn't know why it was taking so long and that she knew it was ridiculous. I then noticed a couple two tables away from us get their meal. They had come in after us and ordered the same thing we had. I noticed some confusion when they were given their meal and wondered if it was supposed to be ours. Our waitress came by and promise we were next. I then saw a waiter take the same things we ordered to another couple in the other seating area. There appeared to be some confusion again but he ended up leaving the meal there. We flagged our waitress down and mentioned that we thought our meal had been given to the wrong couple. At this point we were an hour in to waiting for our meal. Our waitress was horrified and we saw her go talk to the manager. She came back and apologized profusely for the new waiter who had indeed given our meal to another couple with the same order. She said the manager was comping our entire order, which was very generous and we appreciated that. The new waiter who accidentally gave our food away then came over to apologize as well, which I certainly hope was on his own volition and not because the owner/manager made him. We appreciated that he came over. Overall, I will want to give this restaurant another shot. The couple sitting next to us raved about their soup and turkey apple burrito sandwiches. I'm chalking our experience today up to a fluke and not normal business. I think it's important to support local businesses and I look forward to being able to up my number of stars the next time we visit. Oh and to our waitress....sorry we didn't leave you a tip, we wanted to but had no cash and no bill to add it to. The flubs today were certainly not your fault. If you're there next time we make it over the water, we'll make it up to you.

Came here for a motherless Mother's Day breakfast. Fortunately, we were early enough to avoid any crowds. We loved the ambience and service, and found the food tasty, rich and home style (Apple and sausage omelette and biscuit Benedict). Other customers appeared satisfied, so I'm not entirely sure why reviews are generally low-rated for the Braeburn (perhaps tough crowd or bad-bias feedback?). We'll be back!

Worst. Service. EVER. We were told it was going to take 10 min to be seated. It took 30 minutes and when we went to question what was taking so long they completely ignored us. Once seated, they were soooo slow. Seriously, servers at this place do not care about the customers. Food was decent.

Just ate there this morning for breakfast. We were the first people in the restaurant and no one else came until we left. Great service and upon asking the server for a recommendation on an omelet he suggested the sausage and spiced apple one. Definitely a great choice with a really unique flavor profile! Given that it was a Tuesday we didn't have to wait for anything but I could see how they'd get busy since the food is so good. Definitely recommend this place if you're in town and looking for a filling breakfast!

Terrible. Waited over 10 minutes to order. We waited 30 minutes until someone finally checked on us after ordering. The food wasn't even made! We just left. It wasn't even busy; it was the middle of the afternoon with no crowd.

Burger was good although there was a bit more mayo than I like. I got a side of fruit which looked rough but tasted good. We also got the root beer pulled pork sandwich which had a unique flavor and was very good. Service was good as well, will be back for breakfast for sure

My husband and I are spending a few days in Whidbey while visiting the Northwest. We went to Braeburn in Langley for breakfast. The lattes were amazing. I had the granola and yogurt which was awesome and the portion size huge. My husband ordered the Cowboy burrito and enjoyed it. He felt like it could have benefitted from chorizo as opposed to bacon but it was good. The service was attentive and friendly. We'd definitely be back.

Awesome service, great food, huge portions. We are very particular eaters: "add this, none of that, may I sample that, etc," and they were very accommodating with positive attitudes! Delish homemade granola!

  • Bill B.

One very notable aspect of the Braeburn is their efforts to make absolutely everything they possibly can from scratch and try to local-source, too. Biscuits are baked fresh, BBQ sauce is their own recipe, plenty of seasonal fruits & veggies from the island, etc. I'm not convinced their Corned Beef Mash, a food network winner, is the best thing on the brunch menu. I'd have to say the Rootbeer BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Eggs Benedict are tied for first place. As an update, they now accept credit cards.

We came for breakfast and most of the items were good (about 3 stars) considering its the only place there is in Langley. They got the extra star for being a family friendly spot and giving my baby girl a purple sippy cup for water and their wonderful service - (I guess we got a good day! The good: home made muffin - it happened to be mixed berry the way we went and with it being the size of my daughters face both my kids, my self and my husband dived in. light, warm, fresh berries, with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a side of butter made the presentations wonder - down side the price tag. Kids Mac and cheese - a bit on the gooey side, but its cheesey creamy, with a bit softer mac perfect for the kiddies, and most importantly its not too salty. Although in terms of flavor not the best I have had (its my daughters favorite and the one from volunteer park cafe is better for the adult palate) neutral: stuffed apply french toast - I might be biased as I have had some very kickass french toasts in Seattle and have now come to expect a more divine experience. Theirs were made with what taste like home made apple bread, the soft cheese that was in the middle for the stuffing didn't really work with me, The apples that went with the french toast had the skin on and there was not enough of it. corned beef hash - I was really expecting high marks with all the hype, and I was disappointed. neither the corned beef or the rest of the ingredients stood out as amazing. The biscuit as some has mentioned was huge and likened to a scone - yes and yes, but as a tool to sop up sauce and runny eggs its perfect! The bad: none really - which is why its a 4 stars for me.

Wait list situation deplorable. Huge list and half the restaurant was empty. It took the hostess close to 10 minutes to check in and let us know there was a massive wait to be seated. Digging deeper they revealed the kitchen was overwhelmed so they just stopped seating people. Curious that with half the tables empty and clean the kitchen could be so far behind. Perhaps it was a really bad day. Although we gave up on this day, our last meal was really good ( but also very slow) so I'm factoring that into the number of stars. Otherwise today's experience would have been a 2.

Whidbey Island is home and The Braeburn is where I go if I want breakfast or brunch. The food is delicious and fresh and very Pacific NW. Homey country kitchen feel atmosphere with eclectic decor. Friendly and quick staff. I give it four stars because of the food and the service and the authenticity. That being said, since it is only open for breakfast and lunch, and it's small, you probably will have to wait to be seated on weekends and peak festival times. (Notice that the complaints were all about waiting). PLAN to give your name to the hostess, get on the list, and walk the beautiful streets of Langley. It's easy to look in shops for a bit and walk back and be seated. It makes for a good appetite and the food is worth it! Sit at the table next to the wood stove if you can, in EASY chairs ;) My favorite is the Okanogan omelet: Grilled Braeburn apples, pork sausage and sweet onions all grilled together and stuffed in an omelette with melted cheddar cheese. OR the Saratoga omelet: Grilled onions, red tomatoes, wilted spinach, fresh basil and Montrachet goat cheese. y-u-m. Kids have good choices like various kinds of macaroni and cheese, root beer pulled pork sandwich etc. The jams are homemade and local. ;)

Wow, some people have had some really bad experiences here. that's too bad. I had a very enjoyable lunch here and found it to be very gluten-free friendly. I had the veggie hash of the day which was seasoned perfectly and hubby had the special smoked salmon wrap, which was chock full of salmon and looked so delicious with the dressing dripping off his hands! The service was great. They have gluten-free bread for toast.

For being the only breakfast spot in Langley, I thought this place should have been much better. We were served burnt pancakes AND burnt toast. The atmosphere is cute and charming and the locals all raved about it to us, but the food was close to inedible. Maybe I'm biased since I'm from a brunch-centered city, but I wouldn't recommend a place that serves burnt food to anyone. All of the staff that we encountered seemed awkward and uncomfortable and stammered on their words.

Cozy space with local art on the walls and friendly staff. The apple cinnamon stuffed French toast changed my whole outlook on the day! Absolutely delicious and not overly sweet. Came with fresh fruit that I couldn't have due to allergies, and the waitress happily brought me some breakfast potatoes instead which were also very tasty. Definitely a new favorite!

We went to The Braeburn after getting a recommendation from the local neighbors. Glad we came here! I ordered the veggie hash. All stuff from local growers, it was really tasty and well spiced! I had the biscuit, which was huge and dense and delicious. I had enough for the next day as well. My husband had the Saratoga omelette. It was delicious, though it had too much fresh spinach for me. Since there's no such thing as too much spinach for my husband, it wasn't an issue. The breakfast potatoes were awesome and the main reason our neighbor recommended the restaurant. They didn't disappoint! We also had several juice/prosecco concoctions. Tip - guava bellini is deeeelicious! I thought this was pretty reasonably priced for a touristy town on an island, especially for the quality and the quantity. We sat on the patio which was very pleasant and relaxing. A great place for breakfast while you're on vacation!

A cute lil' brunch spot in a cute lil' town. Kids-friendly, with crayon and such. Food/menu is pretty decent, though nothing too spectacular. The servers are nice folks, but the management under-staffs them. There were only 2 servers (and no hostess either) when it was a full-house (35~40 people) at a peak lunch time. Everything was very slow.

We attempted brunch on Sunday but had an appointment (yes, really) and decided to try again on Monday. Brunch was delicious-- as an avowed hater of corned beef hash in any form, I stole multiple bites of the husband's. It was delicious, as was my Okanagan omelet (apples, sausage, red onions, cheese). The only complaint I have is that my potatoes were just ordinary-- they were good, but really not exciting. Service was leisurely, but not frustratingly slow.

The Braeburn from the website appears to be a very nice upmarket restaurant. I checked some of the reviews comparing other south Whitbey breakfast places and they're all about the same avg. Since we'd been to the another Langley place the day before we thought it would be nice to try The Braeburn. While in line, a couple walks out mentioning "Well that was disappointing". I ignored it, figuring it was just them. The place was very busy on a Sunday morning, but we got seated within 20 mins, less than Seattle waits by far. We got in there, I ordered the Corned Beef Mash, my wife an Eggs Benedict, and my uncle the Sausage and Gravy. We waited and waited and waited. Oh well it did come eventually. The corned beef mash? Super hot ( uneatable for the first 10 mins). No complaint really, at least it's hot. As opposed to my wife's Eggs Benedict. After mine cooled down, there was an overpowering lemon flavor, which pretty meant it very difficult to taste anything else in the mash. I opted for eggwhites (good) and the biscuit (ok). So in the end it was just "food" for me with the overpowering lemon flavor and basically unsatisfying other than to fill a hole. The benedict....my wife couldn't cut the biscuit with her knife. The other ingredients that were supposed to be hot or more than warm, were either cold or barely lukewarm. The potatoes were ok. After some discussion we decided to send back her plate. She didn't want to but I felt they needed to know. She was asked if she wanted the egg again after being offered a choice of the same or something else ( she chose sausage and gravy instead), in the replacement plate. When it came back the potatoes were missing. And the biscuit was scorched again. The restaurant in their wisdom, comp'd my wife's plate, and our drinks ( coffeex2, tea). But after putting down the card and hitting the restroom after 15 minutes they still hadn't come back to charge the card. They must either be overwhelmed or didn't want a tip. From first impressions, this place seems to be taking advantage of the amount of tourists streaming thru to not worry about repeat business. We overheard 2 other tables close by getting their items being comp'd due to mistakes in the kitchen. We were courteous to the server and in return got problems with our orders that seems to reflect what else is on the reviews. On second reflection, really they've taking on more than they can chew. The owners need to take notice that there are quality problems here and consider reducing their table capacity so they can serve food to their patrons at the quality their website and so called reputation they want to achieve. Right now they have a long way to go. If the owner truly wants to attract a swath of return business, they need to be present and monitoring quality. Otherwise we'll take our business elsewhere. Just because they are the only breakfast spot in that small part of town, doesn't bide well if other reviews are having the same or worse experience than us. p.s. please consider also training the staff welcoming customers at the front door, to not use raised voices. it's kind of tacky. Update 9/12/2013. Owner has responded with a well thought out response to my review. This shows the true devotion they have to the business, and the improvements they have chosen to execute as a result of this review. Admirable. My review was extremely direct like another one earlier in the year, following our individual experiences that day. But it seems that this business is well managed and forward thinking enough given the harsh but honest feedback.

Came here with my husband as we were spending the day on Whidbey Island for the Fourth of July. Bottom line, service was poor. Our server kept disappearing on us and I thought it was unprofessional of her to blame everything on the cooks and how they were backed up with orders, etc. Also, she was only tending like, 3-4 tables so there was no reason for my husband and I to be ignored. Just to bring us coffee, and to simply ask how we are doing seemed to be a struggle for her. The food didn't make up for the lack of service either. I ordered their frittata special which was really runny and salty in the middle (gross.) The biscuits that it came with were decent but they were served plain and of course, our server didn't bother bringing or offering some sort of accompaniment to go with the biscuits. However, my husband did enjoy his brioche French toast so that was nice. No reason to go back to this place after this experience.

Late Saturday breakfast, a treat in itself! Omelet with apple, sausage, red onions, and cheddar was my choice and I was not disappointed...delighted in fact by the amazing combination of flavours. Definitely a must to repeat on my next visit to Whidbey Island and Langley!

I had a summer June wedding on Whidbey Island near Langley. We had many out of town guests and a large wedding party so we planned for a few days of festivities. I held a bridesmaids brunch at the Braeburn on a Friday morning. Lisa, the owner, was so accommodating and helped me to reserve the outdoor patio area. We had to pay a fee of $75 to reserve the space, but when we got there a beautiful table was set up with a bottle of champagne and flowers. It was such a sweet gesture and made our experience so fun and intimate. The service was great and I ended up eating there two more times that weekend with my husband and family! Every omelette I've tried is AMAZING! I love how they serve coffee in handcrafted mugs! So many of the details of the restaurant are contributed by local artists and sculptures. It is one of my favorite Langley restaurants and I will be visiting there every time I'm on Whidbey Island!

If you knew me, you would know I am the last person to go along with the crowd. I was pretty much less than impressed with the city of Langley all together. Most restaurants were crowded, but when you got little to no competition, what would you expect. We got so fed up, we actually skipped dinner because we couldn't find a single place that looked like they would survive in Seattle. Sunday morning hunger got the best of us and we ended up at Braeburns and I can tell you that the good people at the Food Network hit this on the head. I had the best omelet of my life and my girlfriend was also impressed with her meal. It was an 1.5 hour drive and a ferry boat ride, but I would do it again for the purpose of the Braeburns alone. Great people great service and a return to the days when quality, service and comfort ruled the world.

My wife and I started coming to The Braeburn long before we lived on Whidbey Island but even now, it's still our favorite breaking spot. I've become such a big fan of their veggie hash (seasonal, local veggies of the day with eggs & toast), it's hard to order anything else. Plus, there's always a special soda or beer available to sample. The service is always friendly, especially the owner, and our dog loves coming with us and sitting on the back patio.

Since my original review, I've re-tried The Braeburn twice and there is definite improvement. However, it's not enough to dramatically change my original review. The service feels much better (especially the male waiter that's been there at least a year now - very friendly and attentive) and there have been tiny tweaks to the decor that have really refreshed the space. So ... the food. I've been back for breakfast only and ordered the Eggs Benedict each time. Each time I very specifically ordered my eggs "poached hard" and saw the waiter making a note. Each time my eggs have been served runny, making me wonder if the chef has a personal issue with Benedict served without runny yolk and so refuses to do it. Or he/she doesn't know how to do a hard poach? Either way, I have to remove the eggs from the EGGS Benedict as I truly can't stand runny egg yolk. Also, the Hollandaise sauce was served cool both times - not "lukewarm" but cool. I'm not sure how that even happens, especially when the dish is on the Specials menu and the sauce is pretty much the star element. Overall, I don't want to suggest that folks visiting Langley not go to The Braeburn for breakfast; it's a warm and cozy restaurant with a convenient location. It's just my personal opinion that the food isn't excellent and, as a local, it's disappointing that we don't have an awesome breakfast place on the south end.

This is another place that I wish I could rate higher, but just can't justify more than 3 stars. Service is generally friendly, but I've been there a couple of times for breakfast and lunch, and each time there were some major issues with what I was served. On my most recent (and probably last) visit for breakfast, I had a spinach and bacon omelet. The omelet was good, but the potatoes that were served with it were just lukewarm, and poorly seasoned. The buttermilk biscuit that I had on the side was cold and served without butter. Their coffee was pretty acidic and tasted like it had been brewed a couple of hours before. If you're running a place that aspires to local greatness here in the Pac NW (and you're charging $2.50 for a cup of coffee), you ought to at least be able to get the coffee right, no? For us, sorry to say, this restaurant just doesn't live up to the hype.

No offence but if this is the best breakfast in Washington State they might have a problem. The service was great but the Corned beef and hash, AKA garlic mashed potatoes with some corned beef mixed in topped with cheddar cheese and 3 eggs was just not good. The Pancakes rocked and the bacon was good but out of 8 people trying all sorts of dishes no one was impressed.

Would have been 4 stars but: 1. The prices are slightly high. 2. WARNING- there was a sign on the building saying the business was for sale. The quality might be rapidly changing with the short timer effect. Five for lunch on Thursday at 12:30 Salmon burger, chicken quesadilla, two beef burgers, cole slaw, potato salad, home fries. The good: 1. Food was pretty good. 2. Interior was bright with lots of windows and lights. 3. Slaw and potato salad had apples sliced and mixed in. Very good. 4. Salads we saw going by for others were huge and covered with goodies. 5. Burgers were juicy and had a full half pound patty on them. 6. Really good desserts..such as marionberry bread pudding. 7. Chicken quesadilla also had carmelized onions, goat cheese, and a yummy sauce in them. Very filling. The not so good: 1. Our waiter does not really want to work there. 2. No fries option, just sliced pan fried potatoes. 3. Salmon patty on the salmon burger was pretty small on the bun. Needs to be bigger. 3. A little dated on the interior but clean...older folks would love it.

I am a food network junkie. So I HAD to check this place out. We had already eaten somewhere else, but I insisted on atleast grabbing a drink here while in town. I really wish we could of tried the food. We will be back to review that! But as far as service, our waiter was a really nice guy. I ordered a giant mimosa, but decided I didnt want too much OJ, so i asked for champagne and OJ on the side. He was totally cool with that, and got our drinks right away. We sat outside, and enjoyed the warm weather. Really nice patio, but it does have that "kitsch" taste which I'm not into. P.S. I think the reviewer below, "Jacob" was our waiter!

The Braeburn is pretty good. My in-laws (Clinton-dwellers) love it, so we often stop in once while we're visiting. I haven't had the same thing twice, and have probably been 5 or 6 times now. Still haven't found a menu item I'm crazy about, which isn't usual for me - I'm pretty good at zeroing in on my best option on the first visit. The staff is nice, and of course everyone knows everyone on the island so my father-in-law inevitably ends up being friends with such and such waitress, who will stop at our table for a few minutes to chat. I'm not into the kitschy ambiance, but that's a matter of taste.

I'm happy to update my review to 4 stars! 3 of us went to the Braeburn for a post-Thanksgiving brunch-lunch. The changes Lisa, the new owner, has made are good ones. She was also our waitress. Every day, one of the soup options is a vegetarian one (yay! now that's more like it!) and the offensively titled "Sissy Burger" has gone to the dogs (where it should have gone in the first place)! In its stead is a Portabella burger option, which I didn't try. So - Lisa is great: very direct, very personable, and very flexible! She told me I could substitute - - well, basically, all over the menu. So I had a sandwich that normally includes bacon and substituted carmelized onions and sauteed spinach. Nice. The parsnip soup wanted a little green Tabasco sauce to make me smile, and low and behold, a smiling young waitress produced it for me. My daughter's potatoes, which I sampled, were delightful, yummy; and her sweetheart's dill biscuit, which I ate half of, was a treat. Hey,, back off, it's family style! They offered, alright??

My husband and I stopped in for Sunday breakfast. We were early so not many customers yet but they came in while we were there. Nearly full before we left. We have not been here in a while and menu was different. Still lots of good choices. Decor was nice Service was quick and friendly. Fairly attentive. Got one coffee refill. Got our order in and received food quickly I ordered eggs Benedict which are only available on weekends. Eggs were perfectly poached and ham delicious Served on biscuits with lots of holindaise sauce... Unfortunately both were cold. I chose the side of fruit and it was delicious.. Melon, grapes, pineapple and apples. Hubby ordered biscuits and gravy. Three eggs. Very large biscuit with lots of sausage in the gravy. Country potatoes were crispy and didn't seem to have been seasoned. We will come again and try other items

I've come here for breakfast for years! Over the last year the quality of the food has greatly decreased. Today we went in for breakfast, we walked through flys spiraling just inside and many dead bugs in the window sill next to our table, this should have been an omen to leave! We ordered stuffed French toast which looked good on the menu, looked good placed at the table, what didn't look or taste good was the 1/2 inch thick literal slab of cold, plain cream cheese between the two pieces of French toast! Couldn't it at least be soft so it melts, or whipped together with other goodies and be piped in between the layers? I ordered the Popeye omelette and like I always do- add spinach and cheddar. Normally this isn't difficult and I never add things if it is busy, today there was only 1 other table besides us. My omelette comes, and the "add spinach" meant to this cook "half ass the omelette and put a massive wad of cold, raw spinach spilling out the front", even the server commented that it looked like a salad. I have never sent a meal back- this was a first! The server said this same issue has come up 3-4 times in the last week... Upon getting the second one, I felt like the cook was mocking me and wilted the spinach on top and below the omelette... What is so hard about putting spinach INSIDE?! We ate what we could of both and asked for the check. This place charged $1.50 for my "add cheddar" which was at best 2 TBLS of pre shredded cheddar! We paid the check, tipped the server and left, we will not be back.

My husband and I were attracted to this place because they had dog-friendly patio seating. There was a 30 minute wait to get seated, but we were OK with that as the patio was pretty full. Once we were seated, though, we began to feel we made a mistake coming to this place. First off, they were out of the menu item we wanted. We ordered something else, but then it took forever to get our food even though all we ordered was soup and salad (and by this time it did not seem all that busy)! We eventually asked to move to another table because our originally shady table was in the sun. The waitress seemed a bit miffed at our request because she now had to clean the table that had been sitting with dirty dishes on it for half an hour. The food finally arrived and it was just OK. The soup was a little bland and not hot enough for my taste. I liked the blueberry salad dressing, but my husband did not care for it. So even though the atmosphere of this place was nice, and we really liked the dog-friendly patio seating, we will not be eating here again because the service was terrible and the food was just not enough to make up for it.

Couldn't decide on a good place to eat this Sunday then I thought to go to the Braeburn. I have never had a better brunch! I had the okanogan Omelette and my server was Dani, SHE IS THE BEST! and the food was unbelievably good, I ordered fresh fruit and the omelette served with biscuits. I will never forget this great meal and great service!

Found this restaurant over a weekend while I was working on the island. I liked everything that I tried, but my favorite was the veggie hash. Every time I had it, it was different, from what I was told they chose what is in it based on what is available on the island. Everyone working there was very nice, and attentive. If I ever make it back to Whidbey Island, this will be one of 2 places that I will goto again. I also believe that all of their water glasses come from the Firehouse Glass company, callahansfirehouse.com , that is next door, which added to the internal decor.

Mmmm, Braeburn. My BFF (who actually used to be a chef here) and I stumbled here for brunch after a night of singing duets on Rock Band, too much drinking, and a ton of vomiting (at least on my part). The staff seemed very sympathetic though as I sat at the bar with my sunglasses on. They have a huge menu and everything on it looked delicious! I totally would've gone to town on it had I not been so hungover and just about ready to puke, so onto detox food! I ended up ordering a tall glass of OJ and a big bowl of fruit salad. I only wish I could've ordered a side of honey yogurt to dip the fruit in, but I was trying my best not to barf. My BFF, on the other hand, ordered a heart attack on a plate. I'm not sure how he did it, but I don't blame him, because it looked delicious! It was mashed potatoes with what looked like meat loaf mixed into it, topped with eggs in the style of your choice. Mmmmmm. We both felt waaay better afterwards. Though my head was spinning the entire time that I was at Braeburn, I still took the time to appreciate the decor, which was very cute and charming. The restaurant was painted this bright, orang-ish-red, and there were flowers and cutesy pictures and plates artistically strewn everywhere. Even the bathroom was cute, not to mention, matching! Random note: You know how Top Dog's (all over Berkeley) veggie dog is called The Weenie and how it's incredibly embarassing to order? Braeburn's garden burger is called The Sissy Burger. Having been a vegetarian for 10 years, I see the humor in it and don't take offence, but according to my BFF, others have. Lighten up, people! Oh, how I wish I had a diner like Braeburn at home! I hope to return triumphantly sober one day so that I can truly appreciate its huge menu and cutesy decor.

Wow! not sure what happened afetr this place was named "Best Breakfast in Washington". Wife and I were staying on the Island and were looking for Breakfast. We walked in and were the only people there on a Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. We got a window seat in front and on the window was a Help Wanted sign advertising for a cook and servers (guess the Hostess position was OK). Should have known that to be a bad sign (pun intended). I ordered the eggs and Bacon and the eggs over medium and my Wife had the eggs benedict. Breakfast comes and I get 2 eggs and 2 pieces of Bacon and no potatoes. The eggs came out very runny and were waaay undercooked. My wife's benedict was swimming in a bright orange goo that was supposed to be Hollandaise sauce. Needless to say we were bummed out and will not return until they get the place turned around.

Excellent breakfast!! I had the Farm House Scramble, and would return just to order it again. I really love the fresh, homemade style flavor and quality. The biscuits have a very sweet, almost creamy taste, and the homemade jams are divine. I really appreciated the friendly staff and service, too. A very pleasant dining experience for a first-time visitor to Whidbey.

We went there since I had seen some good reviews by others. The service was slow and I mean slow. The beverage order took 20 minutes to get. One of us didn't get the beverage she ordered, then asked for another drink. There were issues with not having enough glassware. There were floaters in one of the beverages. The food took about 30 minutes to get to the table. The wait staff said the kitchen was backed up. Now the food. I had the Mother Trucker, the eggs and biscuits and gravy was hot the potatoes were cold. My friend had the pulled pork and she said it was great except she asked for light mayo and what she got was not light. The check took about 20 minutes once we asked for it. Its a good thing we were operating on island time.

I can see how you might enjoy this place if you are extremely hungover like the reviewer below giving this place five stars. I can also see how the menu would seem huge if you're sitting inside wearing sunglasses and hungover. But under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have high expectations. The menu isn't huge; they have breakfast or sandwiches and a few special items. If you are going here, get something simple. If you get bacon, eggs, and toast, you will probably be very pleased. They use very high quality ingredients in my opinion, so something that only requires basic preparation will likely be quite good. This is the reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1 star. Anything that requires a little skill to cook will probably disappoint you. Today I got a half sandwich and cup of soup. The sandwich was good; tuna, mayo, cheese, and bread are not easy to screw up. The soup was not at all OK. When you get a bowl of soup you should not be able to drink it through a straw. Good soup has some texture to it. This soup was basically potatoes, cheese, and almost no bacon blended together until it was a runny liquid. It would have been SO easy to leave some chunks of potatoes, or some pieces of bacon, or to liberally sprinkle some cheese on top. Unfortunately, they totally blew it. I'm not going to go into detail on my family's orders but they too were poorly executed. As for the service... we had to wait almost five minutes for them to clear off a vacant but dirty table so we could sit down. When we were seated, we waited for a while before I finally got up and asked for them to provide some menus. The food took a long time (the place was full) and once again after we finished our food we waited several minutes before I finally got up to go and ask for the bill. For the most part the servers seemed disinterested in their work and not especially friendly. Lastly, this is the 21st century, its time to start taking credit cards.

Charming atmosphere(with a pet friendly outdoor seating area) but placed an order to go instead. We ordered the much raved about corned beef MASH. It comes with 3 eggs and your choice of toast or biscuit. We just wanted to try the corned beef mash and was offered it as a side (without the eggs or biscuit). As the waitress rung it up, it was then that she said it would be the same price as the meal. In that case, I said, we'll have the biscuit then (which seemed to have irritated the waitress). Waited 20 minutes (no big deal as it was slightly crowded; went searching for a geocache nearby). Had a bite in the car: skimped on the actual beef, half a potato unmashed (see photo) hardened melted cheese and it overall had a very chemical taste. The biscuit was dry and had an even worse chemical taste. Something about the whole thing was not right at all. If we had eaten in the restaurant I would definitely have sent it back to the kitchen. Wonder if it was just a fluke as the dish was featured, as the menu points out, on the Food Network (in actuality, the magazine and almost 3 years ago!)

My husband and I have a cabin on the island, and go to the braeburn every time we're there. We've had almost everything on the menu, and usually try whatever the special of the day is. It's all good-both breakfast and lunch. The ingredients are fresh, usually local (when available), and we appreciate the high quality meats. My favorite meal is the veggie hash-veggies vary based on what's in season and available. The biscuits are fantastic, especially when covered with any of the local jams! The service is always friendly, and the ambience is comfortable and makes you feel right at home. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. We love the Braeburn and will continue coming back!

A charming and friendly cafe that is a favorite of the locals as well as visitors. Good, fresh food prepared simply and yet with imagination--daily soups and specials mix up a menu of solid breakfast and lunch favorites. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, and the staff is attentive and efficient. This is the best kind of small local establishment. Some days, it feels like the local living room, as the Braeburn is a popular destination for Langley; on weekends and during the summer it's a popular visitor destination.

I'm a half-time regular here. Good basic breakfasts and the potatoes are done right--pieces, not grated, and seasoned with more than just salt and pepper. I often got the mushroom and cheese omlet, but more recently I've been getting eggs with two sides. I tried their corned beef hash special; it tasted good, but I was disappointed by the consistency of the potatoes, which were sort of like grilled mashed potatoes. I think I would really have liked it if they used their regular potatoes instead. Worth a try.

We like breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfast at the Braeburn. Their potatoes are YUMMY. Coffee was decent, omelets were filling, apple butter was tasty. I asked the waitress for a single blueberry pancake after she finished taking our order, which she acknowledged, but I never got it (and wasn't charged). But I still enjoyed the rest of my breakfast. Braeburn's breakfast is good and we would definitely come back here.

Lunch here was quite nice. Quaint little place with a lot of regulars/locals, which is a good sign. Food was great and they were very accomodating. The server was superb -- forgot her name or I'd recommend you ask for her. They only accept cash or checks so make sure you're prepared for that... but it also helps keeps prices down if they're not paying credit card fees!

While spending the weekend in Langley we wanted a good ol' fashioned breakfast. Pancakes, Waffles, Eggs Benedict or the like. We walked by the afternoon before and Apple Strudel Bread French Toast on the menu posted outside struck the fancy of my wife... so it was the Braeburn the next morning. Environment is cute. Warm, charming. Service was good. Juice and water comes served in mason jars with handles if that paints a picture. I had the Langley Scramble which was a eggs, ham, green onions with fresh fruit and whole wheat toast. Wife had the aforementioned Apple Strudel Bread French Toast. Serving sizes were good but then again I rarely eat an entire serving. Food was simple, something my mom would make (but of course mom's is better...). One note... they don't take credit/debit cards. Cash (or local check) only. Overall, great little place for a Sunday morning breakfast. I would of liked to try the Eggs Benedict. I suppose that gives me a reason to go back one day.

Great place known for their breakfast. And it was quite good but the best part of this place was the cool waiter that kept us quite entertained with local knowledge.

Food, meh. Been here twice, 1st time was good, 2nd time not so much. For sale sign listed outside the restaurant, not a good sign. Servers look like they would rather be anywhere but there. When we tried to pay with two $20's our server said he didn't have any change for our $26 bill, so he decided to keep the change. I had to chase him back into the restaraunt to get my $$ back!!

As a musician, I'm always looking for a hearty breakfast and good service at the right price. You cannot find a cheap meal on the island so don't worry about it. The food was tasty and the service was swift. They skimped on the bacon in the omelette . $24.00 including tip for two plates without coffee. Better than average and not loud at all. Nice outdoor tables too but it better be a really nice summer morning to sit outside in the shade for breakfast in Langley. They do take credit cards.

Breakfast fine. Very busy. There's seating outside. Eggs Benedict were pretty darn good.

Delicious country potatoes, apple-smoked bacon, eggs cooked perfectly to order, really, really good, strong coffee (regular and decaf!), patio dining that's dog-friendly....and I haven't even gotten to the rest of the menu. Lisa is doing a fantastic job - fresh and delicious!! Thanks!

My husband and I ate here twice last weekend, once for breakfast, and once for lunch. The staff were very friendly--I forgot my camera at the table, and our waiter ran a couple blocks to return it to us. WOW! I had the stuffed apple french toast for breakfast, yumm, and the BBQ pork made with home-made root beer. Double yumm! I didn't care for the apple potato salad, and normally I eat most potato salads... I also tried their home made root beer in a float. I'm glad the ice cream was there, otherwise I may not have been able to drink it... The root beer was ok, but definitely not Barques or Mug. It made a great BBQ sauce though!! My husband had the Cobb salad, which he loved, and the non-stuffed apple french toast--which he also liked. The prices were a bit on the high end, but so was everywhere else we ate at in Langley. Be sure to bring cash, as they don't take credit cards. For breakfast we sat in the front window, and for lunch we sat outside. The patio seating was quite nice. We'll be back!

I've been here twice and between the two visits I would say it just depends on what you order. I liked the Mother Trucker (Biscuits and Gravy with egg to your liking) on the first visit but it is only available on the weekends so couldn't get a repeat of it this time around. I wanted to try the eggs benedict but the menu indicated that it was only available on the weekends too. Why??? My eye was caught by the Food Network winner logo on the menu next to the Corned Beef Hash so I ordered that this time. The eggs over easy was fantastic but the corned beef was next to non-existent in my dish as well as my father in-laws'. The biscuits were just so-so as well without them being covered in yummy gravy of the Mother Trucker. Overall, my party liked their food this time around but it was a not the sequel I was hoping it would be. Will I come back? Sure I will and I will try something different next time. Go here and make your own opinion and share with the rest of us.
