Pho Tai Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

A friend and I decided to come here for a bite before our movie. We walked in and sat ourselves. It was pretty busy for 10pm so they didn't notice us right away which was fine. We got our drinks and ordered. I just wanted something fast so I ordered a spicy chicken bánh mì. My friend ordered pud thai (not pad thai lol). Both came out very hot and were good. Usually, traditional bánh mìs have a lot of pickled veggies like carrots, radish. Also some cilantro and cucumbers with light mayo. Mine only had a piece of lettuce and some carrots. However it was pretty spicy. I enjoyed it but I didn't see it as a Vietnamese sandwich. My friend liked the pud thai and I thought it was pretty tasty too. The guy and girl who served us were both nice. Minimal attention but being a waitress makes me sympathize and understand that sometimes it's hard to keep everyone happy. Overall, I would recommend.

This is a review of their bubble tea smoothie. I want to try to explain why I hated it so much but I'm finding it harder then I thought ... The 1st issue was the strong smell ... we thought it was just them cooking tripe or something along those lines in the back so we ignored it. 2. The smoothie portion was overly sweet and gritty. 3. My tapioca balls were under cooked or had been sitting too long. 4. It took them 10 min to make our drink with only 2 tables being occupied. 5. My stomach hated me that evening and the next day. I was hoping for delicious bubble tea and instead got the sh*ts Never. Again. No. NO.

Note to self: 1. Don't ever come back here. 2. Never order bun bo hue unless it's from Tamarind Tree. 3. My cousin had the pho and the noodles were undercooked and she barely ate any of it. I came here today expecting some delicious Vietnamese hot noodles but what I got was a greasy bowl of chili oil and questionable meat. TBH I have only ever had bun bo hue from Tamarind Tree and my moms kitchen and neither of those places put pork blood and oxtail in the soup. That could be my fault for not asking but hello the menu described it in three words "pork, ham, beef." No where did I see "Danger danger: contains curdled blood!" So like did I miss something? Is this Lakewood or was I somehow transported on a pedicab to the streets of Ho Chi Minh City? If I didn't constantly just have resting bitch face, I would show you my confused face right now. Also, the broth was completely inedible because it was pure chili oil. I was at a funeral service earlier today and I don't want an early ticket to hell via the route of a heart attack.

Noooooo! The pho was so bad. Like really bad. And I'm not one to waste food but I could only eat a few bites. I had pho yesterday at Pho 38th and it was pretty good. The menu here is the exact same. Design, layout, food items- all the same down to the chicken nuggets and fries. Weird? Yeah. I ordered the #7- rare beef and tripe. The tripe and beef were fine but I could not get over how flavorless the broth was and how hard and undercooked my noodles were. Either one of these things would have been off-putting but both? C'monnnn! No amount of sriracha or lime could have saved it, believe me, I tried. My one star reviews are usually related to poor service but damn my meal was so sad!!!

Amazing! This place has everything and the Pho was delicious. The gyoza was very tasty as well. The fact they are open late hours is pretty cool too. My fiancé had pho for the first time and he fell in love. Needless to say, we will def be coming back.

  • Lindsay S.

My boyfriend loves the pho here, I think it's ok. Their chicken teriyaki was ok and so was the gyoza we ordered. I've definitely had better. It is seriously dirty in here and the staff is somewhat disrespectful to the customers. Hello we are your business don't you want us coming back? I think the only thing really positive I have to say about this place is that they are open until 4 am. There are better places for both pho and teriyaki.

The WORST service I've ever had. I usually go to Pho Hoa across the street & I have for years but I came here twice...one was with a group of friends & the waiters had super bad attitudes. I can understand the language barrier but at least a "hello" will do but nope. My friend would ask for something and the younger waiters would look at each other and laugh...not the best pho I've ever had either. The second time, I only went here because Pho Hoa was super packed but when I got to Pho Thai it was packed too. Didn't get acknowledged again...of course. I sat LITERALLY right in front of the register so you can't miss me. But they obviously missed me...we waited 10 minutes for WATER...just WATER! Then after another 5 minutes my boyfriend had to go up to someone and ask for menus then waited another 10 minutes for a rude ass waiter to take our order. We ordered food to eat there and to go food. Well...they got my order out but totally forgot about my boyfriends food. So he sat there and didn't say anything cause we were just ready to leave the place without paying. But we did of course. When he went to pay the lady was trying to make him pay for the food he never got and they didn't have our to go orders ready at all. So had to wait again. I will NEVER GO HERE EVER AGAIN. Worst service in my life. I would rather go across the street to Pho Hoa. At least they'll say hello and give me water while I wait.

  • Richard L.

Overall the experience was sup par. I went out with 3 other people and had to wait 15min before receiving menus. Then after ordering they forgot about one of our orders. The service was poor but the food was good.

Got in town at 2am and needed to eat. Found this place was open until 4am!! The Pho was actually pretty good. The broth was flavorful and plenty of meat (for you meat lovers!) Im used to a large bowl of pho being bigger than this (at least in California it is). The store was clean and the service was fast. I would come back to eat here if I'm in town again!

  • Iro L.

We arrived here around 11:30PM. Three things to point: 1. Crowded 2. All the "available" tables were unbussed 3. Dirty Pho was eh. Edible at the least. The plus side: 1. Open late

  • Lindsey S.

Quick service! My boyfriend ordered the pho. I tried the soup and it was delicious. The broth for the pho was not as greasy as other places I've tried. I ordered a noodle salad bowl with chicken and spring rolls. Portion was huge and not bad at all for the price (about $7.50). The chicken was moist and flavorful. The juices from the chicken and fish sauce they give on the side make this dish very enjoyable. We ordered a taro bubble drink to go. The tapioca pearls are cooked to perfection. Was not hard. Prepared nicely and has a sweet taste to them. Very good drink.

Came in here yesterday for some pho at like 2am so love how its open late a lot. Really good portions and generous with the amount of meat they put in the pho which was great. Does get busy a lot and could be more staffed but not that bad service. Good bubble tea to finish with too.

If I could rate a 0 i would. The only good thing about this place is their cheap food, but if you want good customer service DON'T GO HERE!!!! We've been here multiple times and there has always been an issue. They've started spraying and wiping our table down while we're still eating, they won't give us refills unless they're called upon, and one of the men snatched the pen away from me after signing the receipt. I would undestand having bad service if it was busy, but seeing as we were the only ones there with a full staff, there is no reason for them to have been so discourteous and oblivious. P.S Now I have food poisoning

Service is excellent and you get large delicious amount of Pho soup for your money. I highly recommend Pho Tai to all!

Went here a lot when going to school, open late and there's always people around. Typical dirty pho place, don't even go to the bathroom. Somehow this is the sign of quality, well if you're in tacoma anyway. Yes, tables are dirty and theres no services, little english is spoken, you should know that walking in, lol. Nevertheless, food is good, and good portions as well. Bubble tea is always good too. Like to go here when sick, pretty much the best thing for a cold. Have been consistent for years. Careful if you go after dark, crackheads will approach you, especially if you don't look like one of them, it would be funny until it happens to you. # keep tacoma ghetto.

Very rude service, pushy staff, waited forever for or drinks, it had a god awful odor of something that died and there was mold all over the pitcher and glasses, bubble teas are good though but I might just find a different place to enjoy those after last visit here. To the point it was disgusting

  • Jordan G.

Ok.. so my brother, his girlfriend and I went out for spontaneous Pho. I had been to their competitor across the street, but not to Pho Tai. So I wanted to try something new out. Upon coming here, I noticed that it had an entirely different atmosphere, not as friendly. We ordered a couple spring rolls and a few bowls of Pho of various types. The spring roles were made with stale ingredients and were barely touched. The Pho had an okay broth, but the meat used was terrible.. low quality scraps. And frankly, my brother and I had two different types and it looked like they put the same meat in both. Another note, one of the 'chef's was in the back sneezing without covering his nose. We should have walked out the second we saw that. Frankly, I say avoid this place.

  • Remylynn M.

One star only because the 4 bubble tea I ordered was tasty. The tapioca on the other hand was wayyyy too sweet. It was like a jelly ball of sugar that outdid the tapioca natural flavor. The reason for my review though is the horrible service. I don't know if it was a racist thing, but all the workers had rude faces. Since I just wanted to order bubble tea to go, I walked up to the cashier's booth and before I could say anything, this man says, rudely, "just take a seat! I'll bring the menu over!" He then brings the menu, comes back with 4 cups of water, and walks away. The water was a waste of time and created more dishes for their dishwasher. That's not my problem though. He then comes back and asks what we wanted, we told him and he leaves. He comes back with our order, I take out the money for the bubble tea and placed it on the table (which I'm sure he saw) and he just walked away. Leaving my boyfriend to have to walk up to the cashier. Everyone knows what good customer service is. Even a simple smile can get a customer to come back. first and last experience at this place. The floor had food on it and the layout and look of the place didn't look great at all.

Their pho is so so, not the best but good enough for what's offered in the area. But after our visit today I sincerely doubt we will be coming back. While we were eating, a fly flew into our fish sauce. My husband told the server and asked if we can get compensated or something but he said no. That's fine, whatever, but instead of allowing us to enjoy our meal, we were forced to eat the rest of our meal with the dead fly on our table (who likes to eat with a dead fly on their table). The server did not have the courtesy to remove the plate with the dead fly. Total fail. Secondly, I ordered an ice coffee. The lady gave it to me and said she will be back with a glass of ice. I waited patiently....never got it so I asked the guy server (the one w didn't remove the fly from our table) and he gives me a Styrofoam cup full of ice. what is that? Then he tried to school me and tell me this is ice coffee you just pour it in..duh, i know that but I would like to drink my iced coffee in a glass please. Thirdly, I ordered meatballs in my pho. I didn't get it, no big deal. But they still charged me for it. Oh and apparently the kids' sodas aren't refillable.

No: Flavor, freshness, seasoning, ambiance. Yes: flies, cold beer. Very uninspired kitchen, meal felt thrown together. Un seasoned meat in my salad and no flavor in the spring rolls. I hope there are better options for Vietnamese food in SeaTac.

  • Melissa C.

Very delicious authentic food, my husband and I ordered their teriyaki chicken and the prices were extremely fair. Dish was really good, fresh and tasty. I also ordered a side of melon bubble tea and their tapioca inside was cooked just right. Overall experience, excellent

I have been here twice and have had decent experiences both times. The menu has a wide variety of entrees, pho, bubble tea, and other drinks. The last time I was there, I ordered a blended "french espresso" with white chocolate flavoring. It was decent considering I ordered French coffee from a Vietnamese restaurant, but still not my favorite. Looking at the selection of pho, I was disturbed by the "raw beef" option. I don't know if that is normal for pho, but it seemed sketchy to me. I ordered a pho with cooked beef, which i believe was brisket and some sort of flank steak? I can't remember exactly. It was pretty good. The broth was good, but not anything special. I definitely recommend adding extra spice or many of the sprouts with lime to add some extra flavor. After you seat yourself, a server is fairly prompt in brining you a menu and taking your order. However, once they bring you your food and your check at the same time, you probably won't see your server again. The inside was surprisingly large. There are many tables of all sizes. It may potentially be a good place for large groups to dine. It is also a busy restaurant at all times of day. I was there around 9pm and it was packed! It is a great place to come late at night for a good meal. Prices are also extremely reasonable. The bowls of pho only come in "medium" or "large" and, trust me, the medium size is plenty big! I barely made a dent in it. I think my pho was about $6 and the large coffee was about $4. Definitely one of the least expensive and most filling meals you can get in the area.

  • Laani M.

The place is dark. It's not that bad. The food was warm, I had the teriyaki chicken which had a good flavor to it. A 4 star because customer service was bad. Had to ask for water about 3-4 times. I would think they'll come around to give us water?? The guy had an attitude and wasn't "welcoming".

    (4)
  • Ruebert Inno B.

I highly recommend not going to this place. Unless you really like good service, good food, and good price. But if you're just hungry McDonald's open 24/7. So yeah, if I were you, which I am not. I would never ever go to this place.

    (5)
  • Gigi L.

Yuck! This is not pho. It is NOT authentic. The broth was bland. The place is not clean. The service was horrible too. The waitress was rude and rushed my family and I to order. I had to keep asking for utensils because they ran out of the ones they normally put on the tables. I also had to ask for condiments a few times. This place is made for drunks who needs to sober up before going home -- you'll know what I mean if you ever go there on a weekend anytime after 10 PM.

  • J R.

shit service. never again. pho hoa across the street is much cleaner and friendly. not to mention pho tai failed sanitation due to "unknown substances". next.

  • Fabiola C.

The worst service.. I used to come a lot here and the food wasn't that bad... Now every time we come here the tables are always dirty I ask the waiter if we could have one of the booths get clean for me boyfriend and us because we have back problems and he said if we wanted a booth we had to wait until the bus boy finishes first we the tables that nobody was using I think he could've been nice and ask the bus boy to clean the table for us so we could use it bad customer service

    (1)
  • Derrik B.

Fourth star bc it's good but better yet it's cheap. The crowds that hang out here are a turnoff but I usually go in later at night. Service kinda sucks sometimes and they aren't friendly whatsoever but as long as they keep the price where it's at I'll keep coming back.

    (4)
  • Peretz S.

I work right next to this pho place and I go this place a lot because of its price and fair quality of pho. It is not a best high quality of pho in the world but it is fairly tasty and fairly cheap for its food portion. Very friendly, love bubble teas too! If you have only hour lunch break and looking to have have a good fair price pho! This place is good to go!

    (4)
  • Ki Y.

This is my go to pho spot. It may not be the best pho but it's still good! They have a wide variety of food on their menu and also gives very big portions! I recommend all my friends to go here.

    (4)
  • Demi N.

They don't have nutrition facts ? What resteraunt doesn't have their own food facts ? On top of that my waiter was very high , and my water came out after my food, very disappointing , other than that the food is always great I am a regular and are there about once a week.

    (4)
  • Dawn V.

Not sure what happened but it's time to find someplace new. Home way down hill in service and good quality. The tea is bitter and strong. The pho had lost something just doesn't taste like it used to. The service we had this time was mediocre at best. Usually when we walk in the door someone was saying hello and bringing a menu to your table. We waited almost five min for someone to bring a menu this time. Don't think I will be back. This is the second time I have come and not been happy upon finishing my meal. Need to find a new place that has curry and pho

    (2)
  • Kirsten H.

My favorite pho place, there is no service here but I figure that's how pho places are! They give you food, you eat you leave. They make me tofu egg rolls if I ask for them during the day, but if it's late night they can get busy and forget. I think it's nice that they even make the exception for me.

    (5)
  • Taniesha E.

Says it's closed on app but it's actually open. In fact it almost always seems like it's open. Got a two bubble teas. One was a honeydew tapioca milk tea and the other was a passion fruit tapioca milk tea. Came to about $9.50, which isn't bad at all. Although, service was a little slow. I've been to other places that can make in just a couple minutes. It took ten. I will have to get back to you on how they taste. Took to go.

Horrible. Food had no flavor. It was bland. Total desapointment i do not recomend this place

Let's just say it was WEIRD... My sister and I ordered spring rolls. (Before I go any further, as a side note: My family used to go to this location for YEARS .. I believe 4-5 years ago) It used to be so good back then.. and then it kind of died down I guess. According to my mom it doesn't taste the same and new pho places were opened and whatnot. So.. the spring rolls (I have worked in places that make spring rolls) and.. from the bite inside- the lettuce.. was kind of turning brown (basically.. was made/out for awhile or the lettuce wasn't fresh) Also.. I don't know how I ended up eating it but the SAUCE? IDK why.. .or I will be sick.. but it was SLIMEY?! ... peanut sauce is NOT suppose to be goopy... and slimey. I have recently fallen in love with the Vermicelli Noodle Salad Bowl and this one... wasn't that GREAT. They used different types of noodle.. which was on the dry side and kind of... hard. The chicken on the other hand.... WAS SOOOOO FRIKKEN GOOOD! Minus the chicken... the rest.. was only edible due to the chicken. I know for a fact, I remember that when I used to come here, I ALWAYS got the charbroiled rice plates- I haven't tried that for years.. but if I do end up coming back here, I will try their rice plates once more.

  • Danny D.

The pho is ok. Not great but ok. Been to other places in the area and have gotten a bigger amount and for a cheaper price. What makes pho good is usually the broth. And this place was alright at best. Still don't think it's worth the price. The crowd was kind of sketchy when I went. But that's a lot of establishments in lakehood. Where fake gangsters roam free. Seriously don't understand it coming from a big city. But seriously not worth your time and money. Way better places in the area. I'm sure the only reason this place gets as much business as it does is because they serve beer. Their bubble tea was good though!! Lol

Very good food and well cooked...nothing was over cooked or under. Will definitely come back again

Well I come in and most of the table was dirty and went we find a sit we ask if can get a booth and the waiter say we need to way for the box boy clean the table in one side then clean the one I ask if I can sit never again I come here again.

Awsome place. Been coming for years, great food great service, friendly face. A recommended place to experience Pho at it's finest.

  • Julia C.

Come here with the family all the time. Not exactly the CLEANEST but it'll do. We're pretty much regulars here and it's nice that they recognize you once in awhile haha. One summer we basically came here at least once every week! Whenever we order the pho here it comes out very quickly which is nice when you've got the hungies and need food. I don't like uncooked meat so I get the #40 all the time. Never gets old~ I know a lot of my friends would rather go to Pho Hoa across the street...but I prefer this place. Pho Hoa with friends but Pho Tai with family haha.

  • Fong H.

Customer service was amazing. We came in at 9 pm with 17 people from graduation and they were willing to accommodate us easily. The waitress was amazing, she remember everyone's order and she came back and check on us throughout the night. The food was good overall. I had the pho #15 and it tasted good. Broth could had use a little more flavor, but it was good. Overall everything was good.

The customer service in here is horrendous. Horrible experience and the food wasn't even good.

Came here with two friends one time and it's dirty with flies. Cups looked dirty and one of the female waitresses was rude after I told them to take back my drink. NEVER coming back here.

Felt like the restaurant itself isn't very sanitary, my tables were sticky & the place smelt funny. The pho soup isn't all that great. If you ever find yourself here, I would literally turn around & walk across the street to Pho Hoa.

  • Jeff R.

Just recently tried the gyoza here and it was great. I don't know how service is during normal business hours, but don't expect to have menus delivered to you quickly if you go in late, we wound up getting our own. I usually stop for a bubble tea here on late Friday nights and I'm never disappointed. Great late night spot for a quick bite or drink.

  • Mindy S.

So annoying how the servers yell across the restaurant to eachother in vietnamese. Its sounds like they are fighting with eachother, everytime I go there this happens. The staff overall is very unprofessional. I asked the server if I could add a fried egg to my plate (they serve fried eggs with certain entrees), she made a stinkface face at me and said "ugh" like she was grossed out and then told me no.

  • Elizabeth C.

I used to love to come here for the pho, but in recent years the flavor has changed a bit. I however do still love their noodle bowls and sandwiches and fried rice!! My husband has a few nights that he's not home for dinner and so I call in our order and I stay up to eat with him. Works perfectly! I call in... he goes and picks up on the way home... and then we chow down as we watch a movie for the night. Keep up with the noodle bowls, sandwiches and fried rice!

fair price, open late, friendly, services good somewhat, food taste okay... love this place....

So glad we decided to try this place because the food was delicious with just enough spice and the service was great! We will be back....often! Open 7 days a week 9am to 4am, can't beat that!

  • Mog V.

I have eaten there many times but today I noticed something odd about the Pho (Number 31). It left a very strange taste in my mouth. I finally determined they apparently had not rinsed the bowl thoroughly before the Pho was in and it apparently still had some industrial tasting product left on it, not even sure if it was dish soap, more like floor wax. I notified the Pierce Country Health Department who called back and said they would investigate.

  • Rachael P.

My boyfriend and I come here all the time. I love love the spring rolls, I always have to get at least two and I always ask for extra peanut sauce.. (: the pho is good and the prices are actually pretty good as well. From the outside and on the inside it is not the best looking and the service isn't always the best.. But the food is great for the prices.

  • Cecilia A.

4 AM pho in portions that will last you at least an entire day? YES! The pho is delicious. The atmosphere is seriously lacking but that's what you pay for awesome-priced late-night pho. Their menu is varied and extensive and the wait times aren't bad. Awesome thai tea and milkshakes as well.

  • Rusty S.

There are SO MANY pho places in this area that it takes something special to stand out. The pho here wasn't it (pretty good, but certainly not outstanding compared to other pho restaurants nearby), but the variety of options available on the menu every day of the week until 4am is! My pho arrived a few minutes after ordering: hot, fragrant, and served with all of the appropriate condiments and accessories. Plenty of good food for $6! I also tried their strawberry bubble tea: if I had ordered it without the tapioca (but that's what makes it "bubble" tea, right?) it would have been quite good. Not really a fan of all the little rubbery balls in my drink, but it does make for an interesting departure from the norm.

    (4)
  • Dena P.

I didn't really enjoy the pho much here but this place was packed! They serve you an enormous amount of noodles in your pho and the prices are just like any other places. The one thing I like about this place is how late it opens till. No where in Florida will you be able to go get pho at 4 AM! It just amazes me because I always complained how there's no 24/7 pho places near by and bamm! One that opens late is always good with me. Now lets hope someone in FL can bring this concept to their restaurant.

Pros: large teriyaki portions (delicious and unique), Vietnamese sandwiches, excellent Pho, open late, TV's are set to soccer Cons: take forever to fill up your ice water, bathrooms Last time I was in Washington I drove an hour out of my way to go here...also the place where I fell in love with the Vietnamese sandwich.

YUCK!! I was soo excited to come and eat here based on the reviews and I was terribly dissapointed. I ordered the #15 Pho and it was absolutely disgusting. It came out within 2 minutes of me ordering it and when they brought it out, it smelled like dirty dish water. Against my better judgement, I went ahead and tried it anyway. Usually, when a pho place sucks, you can rely on half a bottle of sirriacha to fix the taste. I've never put soo much sirriacha in to any soup I've eaten and the worst part was that it tasted so bad, it was inedible. It was an absolute complete waste of $9 and I didn't even bother to eat the meat, because it also just tasted and smelled rank. The meat did not taste fresh, the pho broth was just terrible and all the add-in veggies couldn't fix it. I honestly have to say that was the worst Pho I've ever eaten. I don't know what I can chalk it up to, but it was just gross. I think I'm pretty much sold that Pho Hua is the best Pho you can get in Tacoma/Lakewood. Very authentic, very good, very friendly and worth the $$. If you find yourself at Pho Tai, slap yourself as hard as you can, and walk across the street (literally) over to Pho Hua. I've read a lot of reviews about this place and the majority of them seem to be great, I truly disagree with all of the positive reviews that this place gets. Maybe my visit was just a bad day, but it's enough for me to never ever want to come back here nor will I ever even suggest this place. For those of you that like this place, I highly recommend you go to Pho Hua.

There is no cons. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and in this case it's ALOT of food. We always order one curry dish and one side order of fried tofu or eggrolls and it fills 2 people at least... I even took some home. Very decent priced and large portions. COME HUNGRY! They have a large menu... SO SO many choices to make! I suggest a bubble tea and a curry dish... If curry isn't your thing, the pho isn't awesome here but it's still great considering you can get it at 2am even... I think they are only closed in the wee hours of morn.

Food was okay. Service was acceptable. We couldn't understand the server and he couldn't understand us. Came home and had the shits!

I don't understand how the place got 4 Stars. Just bec it's open late doesn't mean it's good. Ok spring rolls, bland peanut dipping sauce and very bland pho. I also had to stan for 5 minutes with no one greeting me. I had to get their attention only for them to tell me to seat anywhere. Dirty ass seats as well. I had to clean my chair. Cross the streets instead n get better pho at Pho Hoa.

Pho was okay, unfriendly and cold service. Especially when asking the server simply for the plate of bean sprouts, basil and peppers that comes with pho. Will not be returning.

Great food and coffee. I liked the slow drip coffee with coconut milk. The Pho was tasty. I would have liked to sample some more items.

I like to come here, my husband and I always share a T5 which is a chicken teriyaki plate that comes with green salad and a fresh spring roll. I always ask for and extra one because I don't like to share the spring roll. My husband loves that they use boneless, skinless dark meat. The sauce is not bad it's not too sweet or to salty. When I'm in the mood I will get pho. I ether get just the raw meat pho or or I get the plane pho. I always get the medium because they are huge and I can never seem to finish it. The only thing. Is that I like my pho to have lots of lime and they only give one and I always ask when they take the order but all of them tend to not bring extra... It's a little annoying that they do that. The service is not really all that great here but it's not bad if you can get what I'm putting down. Out of all of them only one or two girls are pretty good. They are open till 4am

Based off of the fact service was friendly and awesome this place is getting a 4star review. As far as the Pho goes i have had much better around town. Itts actually very sad cause this place use to be a lot better. The noodles where over cooked and the quality of the meat was not all that great. This place use to have a way more flavorfull broth as well. If the service would have not been as friendly as it was i would have gave it a 3star. Due to Kevin and him being on top of everything it got a 4. The main awesome part to this place is that it is open at 9am and closes at 4am! Sick rite.

Even though it was technically breaking my Christmas chinese food tradition, I came here on Christmas day for lunch and was not disappointed. First of all, the restaurant is enormous and has the highest ceilings I've experienced in Tacoma as long as I can remember. While it isn't technically necessary, there's something very relaxing about the open air feeling you experience as a result. It was not busy at all, which for Christmas day wasn't surprising, and the service was incredibly fast and friendly. I also got a kick out of the warning sign posted on the wall stating that "Warning: Floors are slippery and Pho is Hot!"... Covering all of their bases =P Anyways, I had the spicy chicken and egg roll combo and everything was very good. The chicken was very spicy and the portion was pretty huge, and the rice and salad that came with it was plentiful as well. Everything was cooked perfectly and the egg roll was large and crispy, with plenty of yummy filling. The guys I went with both had huge (although technically the smaller size) bowls of pho which both looked fantastic as well, and all in all it turned out to be a great Christmas Day lunch. Next time I'm willing to drive 100 blocks for Pho, I will most likely return to try one of their Vietnamese sandwiches or huge bowls of pho.

I finally got a chance to try this place out and I must say that I enjoyed it!!! I have heard about this place but never took the time to "try" it, I always go to Pho 38th or Vien Dong and we were in the area so we stopped on by. Pho was deelicious! My spring roll was HUGE.. I will say that Pho 38th has a better peanut sauce for the spring roll though and I like there salad better that comes on there fried rice dishes, but the Pho was a little better so it's a hard call..... My daughter said she liked it and so did Hubby, so it's a winner. OH and the fact that they are OPEN until 4am!!!! I will keep this in mind:)

When I walked into this place, I was quickly seated to my booth where I observed my surroundings. The place is clean and there is a lot of seating available. The first thing I've noticed that this place reminds of disneyworld... most pho places are usually a hole in the wall with bad music... not this place... this place feels snooty... well at least that's what vibe that I get.. The broth is ok.... there's nothing distinguishing nor any personality about it. On a plus note, you do get a lot of noodles and meat. I would try this place again but it wouldn't be my first choice for pho.

My co-workers and friends were not really feeling up to the usual cafeteria food that we normally end up eating for dinner, so we decided to make the trek out for some hearty bowls of Pho. Yelp led us over to Pho Tai. The portions here are pretty healthily-sized (read: big) and their menu has a lot of variety. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, it's nice to have a lot of choices but I'm not sure about how good some of the other items are (their cuisine ranges for Vietnamese to Chinese to Teriyaki to a couple of Thai dishes). Our noodles came out piping hot and overall it was not too bad. I wasn't a big fan of the broth; it was bad, and not too oily, but it wasn't the best that I've had. There was a lot of meat in our bowls, which was great. The tendon and tripe in mine were just ever-so-slightly undercooked, but I was willing to overlook that just because of the sheer quantity of food I was getting! Overall Pho Tai wasn't that bad, and I'll probably return after trying out some of the other pho restaurants in the area (there are quite a few).

We've been back twice this past week. You cannot go wrong with the tofu pho. If you order the broccoli and do not like celery, make sure to ask them to hold off on it. Spring roll peanut sauce was a little light, could be a little thicker, otherwise it was a good. To attest to the popularity of this location, tonight's crowd included Vietnamese, Samoans, Hispanics, African Americans, Caucasians, Japanese and oh yes, Koreans......in the middle of Korea town.

This is my favorite spot for pho in the PNW. I always get the number 5. It's hot, delicious and satisfying. You get the standard accompaniments, basil, sprouts, lime, peppers. I really enjoy the food here. Minus one star for the cleanliness. Some days are better than others but last time I walked in, I could feel the grime in the air. They need to scour/pressure wash the floors, chairs, tables. I don't like that grimy coating feeling. But alas, the pho is so good I keep coming back. The only other things I will mention is the bus boy cart. They take the soup left over from the guests and dump it into a large tub. Right next to you as you're enjoying your hot steaming bowl of soup. Push it along, stop at the next table, dump... Kinda irks me, but maybe I am just weird. The only thing they have on the tv is overly loud soccer, so I enjoy watching Netflix on my ipad while dining here. Just please please pho tai... Deep clean.

A large restaurant with a large menu. Pho was good and came out very fast during lunch so that was a plus. They serve bubble tea, which I am slowly becoming addicted to!! Try the taro or avocado....unique and very good. No complaints!!

I used to go here so much. The food used to be great and I use too crave it. I cannot say the same now. The service has always been awful but I could look over that before because the pho use to be the best. Now it's mediocre. I came in yesterday for pho and when she brought water too the table my cup had multiple chapstick lip marks all over it. So disgusting. This tells me they're reusing their dirty dishes.. you could tell it had not been washed at all. This incident is really the last straw..will not be returning. I use too crave this place but now I cringe thinking about it.

Two late night trips during a conference at Pacific Lutheran. Short trip from the campus. Hostess was friendly and brought us some waters while we waited for our takeout order for ten people. Both times the order was without error, enough chopsticks and forks, and plenty of extra sauces. Everything labeled and easy to pass out. We had bun, pho, the chicken sandwiches, and some bubble tea. It was all great, fresh, and very tasty. Definitely recommend Pho Tai to satisfy your craving for fresh Asian food at nearly any hour.

This place is packed all of the time! We go here at least once a week. Hubby gets a #45 which is brisket, flank and tendon. (gross haha) I get a #00 which is no protein and with egg noodles. Spring rolls are yummy and will change up the meat if you don't want shrimp etc.. Kids love the chicken teriyaki and the fried rice. I love the Thai iced tea and I got an avocado milkshake last time and it was delicious! I wish they would open up another restaurant further south...DuPont, Lacey, Oly. Parking is hit or miss and usually someone is outside begging for money, no shocker since it is on S.Tac Way. :)

At 3 in the morning, I want it quick. I want it dirty. I want it sloppy, slurpy, and covered in sriracha. WHOA PERVERTS, I'm talking about pho. Pho Tai is open until 4AM and is super easy to find, thanks to their giant glowing, multicolored sign. The service isn't much, but when it comes to pho I don't care as long as I have some tea, water, and my food at some point. Especially if I'm only paying $6 for pho! If you are with a group who doesn't all support the motion of the pho'cean, the menu has tons of throwback Asian dishes like fried rice, chicken, and so on. Lots of TVs inside show the current SportsCenter or games that are live. They like the World Cup too. On your way out, don't forget a boba shake or tea. nom nom nom.

This place is great, it has anything you want. The Pho here is very good. I've only been there twice, and the second time I wanted to try something different, but ended up ordering the same Pho again. I love Pho. So it's really hard for me to try to order anything else. Pho Tai is open super late, which is awesome. There's so many things on the menu that even though I'd like to try different things, it's difficult unless you go there all the time. One thing that I thought was a little too expensive was their spring roll. I thought that it would be a rather large spring roll for $1.75, however, it was really small, and only had one shrimp in it ( you can see the two halves through the rice paper). Also, the spring roll was mostly vermicelli. I was hoping for something more substantial. Both my husband and I think that this is the best Pho place that we've been to so far. We decided to check it out because of all the great Yelp reviews. My husband loves Pho and Coconut Bubble Tea. As soon as we walk through the door, we seat ourselves and the waitress comes over. We already knew what we wanted, so we were ready to order. All we got was Pho and one Coconut Bubble Tea. The Pho came out of the kitchen in about five minutes, maybe less - it was really fast. A male waiter brought it out and since he didn't take our order, we had to let him know who ordered what (which is fine). The Pho was delicious as usual. However, we were virtually done with our meal before the waitress brought out the Bubble Tea. She had come to our table about half way through our meal and asked if my husband wanted tapioca or jelly in his bubble tea - it was pretty obvious that she forgot about it. Then when she finally brought out the drink, she claimed that it was slow going because she had to make it herself. There wasn't many people in the restaurant, we went there at about 3pm on a weekday. The Pho was ready in five minutes. I had ordered coconut juice, which came out before the food (like drinks normally do), so I shared that with my husband, but it just seemed odd to us that it took so long for his bubble tea. Personally, we both think that she forgot about it, but just told us that it took a while because she had to make it herself. I'm a pretty slow eater, so it probably took about 30 minutes for that Bubble tea to be served. We definitely will visit Pho Tai again - there are so many things on the menu that I want to try still, but I think that I'm going to stick with ordering Coconut Juice as my drink...

I was quite disappointed with the Pho here, despite the reviews that coaxed me into trying it. There are way to many tvs in the establishment and it feels a bit 'Disneyland; of Pho to me. There are many other Pho places nearby and I'd suggest trying other places before here.

I have tried some pho places in the area, but this place was recommended by a friend. It is really good. The atmosphere is very clean and there seems to be a lot of people that like this place. I am a veggie, so I had the veggie pho and it is really really good. The fresh spring rolls are also good. They aren't filled with just lettuce either. And, they stay open late! I can't wait to go back and try something new, but I've been craving the pho since I went. It's just about time to go back! :)

Since we have moved to Tacoma, this place has kind of become an obsession of ours. It seems that at least once a week, we are at Pho Tai ordering our favorite foods, smiling and saying, "That was some good sh*t!" While my husband and I have enjoyed several dishes here, each time we go, one of us HAS to order the Pho Ga. Usually, my husband has to order a side of oil and onions to go with it, while I pile on the hoisin sauce. The broth is delicious, and it always seems to hit the spot. I also try to order one of their delicious milkshakes every so often (if my husband and I share a bowl, so we aren't entirely stuffed!) The melon shake is delicious, but the grape is my favorite. I have brought several friends here, and they all love it. Give it a try and don't be shy with the hoisin sauce!

I have been to Pho Tai several times and I finally decided to write a review. Well I haven't tried any other Pho restaurant yet, but I really like this place. It stays open till 4am, has plenty of seating, and the food is really good. I have sat in and done the take out thing, but I prefer to place to-go orders when I don't feel like sitting in a cold restaurant. Also, I never have to wait longer than 10 minutes for my order. Back to the food. I usually have the number 1 regular, but my husband recently went without me and tried the Beef Brisket and was very pleased. He doesn't like large pieces of meat in his Pho and the #1 regular does have large pieces, but the beef brisket #20 had very tender pieces that easily broke apart. The egg rolls are good and so are the pot stickers. I have also tried the bubble tea which was good.

This Pho place is a regular spot for my family its not to far from are house we love how simple the flavors are, I have been coming to this pho place for over 5 years and have always had great food. It can get a little crazy on a Fri or Sat night when people are just getting out of the bar or club so depending on when you choose to go you might have a hard time finding a table. This place doesn't have outstanding serves most of the time if you want something you have to get up and ask a waitress for it. (like if you want more water or soda) They have a large menu from Chinese, Pho, Teriyaki, a good Vietnamese sandwich, yummy Spring rolls, pot sticker(I don't think those are home made), bubble tea and milk shakes ( I love there coconut milk shake) I've never been disappointed with there pho even when doing take out I just wish they delivered ^_^

I've been eating late night pho here for years and have always been satisfied. The pricing and portions are spot on and there is usually a place to sit... unless you're doing carry out. Pho Tai has a lot to offer a hungry stomach... especially on those nights when one has had a tad too much to drink. I haven't tried most of their food as I'm a creature of habit but it all looks/smells great. Keep it spicy!

Pho Tai is my favorite pho restaurant in the Lakewood area. It's open until 4am, and the pho is cheap and good. It's always pretty packed every time i come here. Be nice to the workers and you'll have a nice experience here.

    (4)
  • Skylar H.

When I first moved to Lakewood, I went here almost everyday for2 weeks until 1 day I got really sick after I ate here. I wasnt sure it because of the food here or something else. But later on, I heard others people have the same problem as me. So I never went back. Plus, their springroll wasnt good, they dont put real meat in there, they use "pork cake" instead. Not authentic. Maybe because the owner is not Vietnamese. The service wasnt bad at all, depend on how busy it is. It not like anyone is going to tip them more than 3$ anyway so why expect "perfect service."

Pho's alright here but the waitstaff should practicing smiling one time! Sheesh! If you hate being at work, why do you show up? I had to beg someone to fill up my water after waitstaff past by us 6 times and then acted as if I was inconveniencing them. Tell you what... next time I will just take my business across the street. They smile, serve me Pho' and even fill up my water once in awhile. I know I'm asking for alot here folks but come on! Aren't you in the food service industry to serve food and have people actually return to your establishment? Cheers! You just lost a great customer. I eat a lot of Pho'.

People are giving out stars just because the open til 4am, how lame! I've been eating here for a few years and this place had never been as bad as recently. The portion of their good is decreasing dramatically. I usually order number 33 seafood pho but wow, it's disappointing! They used to give 2 shrimps, 2 mussels, and 2 squids. This time I got 1 of each and I got charged 8 bucks for it. Services is horrible now. I don't care if im rude to point out the name here, the server girl with glasses named Trang gave us the worst service. My dad was asking which one was the seafood sauce on the table, she was giving him a "wtf" face. Then she was like " THIS, DUH!" And she was swinging her head. Wow what a horrible worker! I will not go back anymore. GG!

I've been here a few times and the soup seems watered down. The good thing about this spot is that they are open late, which is unusual for Tacoma. When it gets really packed, the service is a little slow.

Love this place! After a little drinking our DD drives us to Pho Tai to sober up a little bit. They make some amazing Pho here! Their bubble tea and spring rolls are absolutely amazing too. Every person that has served me there has always been very generous and done everything very quickly. Even during lunch the traffic isn't too bad here and you will be served in a decent time. Get a bubble tea to tide you over ;) I definitely recommend coming here.

So it is 3 am and you are sick of watching the infomercial for the magic bullet, and you realize your tummy is talking to you, but you don't want no fast food! No, you want some Pho or maybe something else Vietnamese. Thank God for this place otherwise you would be in line with all the other stoners/drunks at the drive thru at you local Taco Bell. Seriously, open till 4 am? How awesome is that. They are always pretty busy here no matter what time of the day. They have the typical full menu of most Vietnamese cuisine, plus bubble teas. I always get the Pho and fresh spring rolls. Not the best rolls but they are still pretty good. I would have to give the price of the Pho a 3 star cause I have gotten a lot more for less other places. The flavor is spot on though. You have to try their special lemonade or their vietnamese coffee, they are bombdotcom.

This place is one of the few reasons why I would consider moving to Washington state. I reside in the DMV and let me tell you, Pho Tai was the best Pho I've ever had, even at 4 in the freakin morning AND they have awesome bubble tea AND they have the most perfectly tart fro-yo! Oh and their rice dishes were always on point--flavorful and moist meats! Their fried spring rolls were crispy and packed with flavor! I can only imagine what kind of outrageously delicious pandemonium would be unleashed if a Pho Tai was opened in the DMV area! Anywhere near here--maybe in Annandale, VA to give honey-pig a run for its late-night money--in College park, MD to rescue all the binge-drinking college kids by soaking up all the excess liquor in their stomachs w tripe--in Adam's Morgan in DC so we don't always have to resort to Jumbo Slice to sate our inebriated munchies! PHO TAIIIIIII! Okay, okay, well a girl could dream... sigh* deliciousness even at 4am, siiiigh* i don't even have to go into what i actually had here because i got different things each of the five times i went (during the one week i was in WA) and they were all ridiculously yummy. Now, IF ONLY...

This place is so, so close to getting five stars, and the only thing that keeps me from doing it is the service. That and the location are the only downsides. The first notable thing is the hours they keep- open every day, 9 AM to 4 AM. My betrothed works nights and I keep his hours, so places that are open late and are not convenience stores are always attractive to me. Pho broth preference is a pretty subjective thing, and I like Pho Tai's a lot. It has a lot of meat flavor, and is quite a bit lighter on the anise than a lot of places. I usually get the brisket, which is always tender and really lean. Their bahn mi is a lovely, lovely thing at 3 AM. The pork is grilled with a sweet fish saucy coating, has some nice browning to it, and it isn't sliced dry pork roast. the veggies are crisp and the bread is toasted. At 3 in the morning they grill your meat and toast your bread the same as if you ordered during lunch time, and as a late night person, I do appreciate a meal that doesn't come pre-assembled out of a cooler, or microwaved. What I slightly mark them down for: location (self explanatory) and service. The employees rarely crack a smile, and don't show up to refill water.

This is one of the first restaurants I came across when I moved to WA. They have so many choices like Asian collections, Vietnamese sandwiches, pho soup, appetizers, fried rice, bubble juices, snow cones, milk shakes and much more! They even have a kids meal too! My usual orders are the meatballs pho, spicy chicken & gyoza, or just the gyoza rice plate. My husband likes their tendon, flank pho (number #10) I think. They even have different sizes: medium or large. I tried their bubble juice but didn't like it. I think their Thai tea is pretty good though. Most of the time I order take-out instead of eating in. They are pretty fast, only about 10 mins wait. They are open until 2 am or was it 4? Never been there that late but their hours are amazing!!! Drinking a bowl of hot pho noodle soup is so great during the winter. So many choices there's something for everyone here. I took one star off because I think the rice dishes were a little too oily and their sodas taste more like water. However, the portions here are GREAT! I can never finish a large so I prefer to order the medium. My husband eats a lot and it's good to know the large can fill him up. Prices are reasonable so hopefully they'll keep it there.

The service ain't the greatest, but I come here because it can accommodate big groups, and you get the food sooooo fast. Summer rolls with the peanut sauce to start off....and then the pho. We went to this place for my birthday, after we realized the sushi place we were originally going to was closed! I had the chicken teriyaki and wontons, with vegetable fried rice. The chicken was so good I didn't even need the teriyaki sauce they provided on the tables. I wasn't too fond of the veggie fried rice, but I think thats just because I prefer the meat fried rice. The dipping sauce for the wontons was awesome, sweet with lots of garlicky flavor. The price was good for the enormous portions they served, so we were really happy about that! The kids had chicken nuggets and fries, I advise people to avoid those, cheap and processed. Won't complain too much, it is a vietnamese place. But all in all, worth the trip!

needed to kill sometime before the next store on black Friday. went in to get bubble tea and the food smelled so good we ordered that too. had hot and spicy noodle soup, which was quite tasty. service is fast and efficient. they have a large variety as well. open till 4 am every day, hard to beat.

What's not to love about a pho place that stays open until 4 am? That's right, folks, 4 o'clock in the freaking morning. I can't say that this is the best pho I've ever had, it's not; but when it's well past midnight and an alcohol inspired craving hits, this is THE place to go. It's always packed and can get a bit rowdy, but that's really just part of it's charm. Not only do they serve the traditional Vietnamese dishes, they offer things like burgers and fries for your friends that are drunk, hungry and can't stomach the thought of slurping down tendon and tripe. There's a little cafe area that serves up delicious bubble tea, shakes, coffees, and yes, even beer. My only complaint is the service. The staff isn't terribly friendly, but they are FAST. Approximately 6.5 seconds after you place your order, you'll have a hot steamy bowl of soup on your table. So efficient.

To me this is as good as it gets. I LOVE this place. The only place I go for pho. They also have really great food other then Pho. Great prices, ok service and open to the wee hours of the night for those who like to eat after partying. Lots of seating too, I have never had to wait long for food. Love it!

I've gone here quiet a few times and I never left disappointed. I always order their grilled pork chops and their servings are always very hefty. Plus how can you complain about such a delicious Vietnamese restaurant being open until 4am? I highly recommend Pho Tai!

  • Sherri W.

The Vietnamese sandwiches here are super tasty. The meat is marinated and the vegetable ingredients crisp. The sandwiches are over-filled with the ingredents and become VERY messy!! The Pho here is also served hot and is good. The service is pretty fast before and when you order but is nonexistant afterward!! Don't be afraid to get up and go get more napkins or get water or whatever it is you need yourself. They hardly ever come back, even when you make direct eye contact. Its open late and you get your food fast though!

This is our favorite Pho place in town! We love going here because not only do they have a large variety of Pho offered, but other foods as well. Sometimes my husband doesn't feel like getting soup, and has gotten many of the other choices, none of them disappointing. We love it!

Some of the best Pho I've had. They are really friendly and a really clean restaurant. Every helpful even with large orders.

Went for the first time with a friend who recommended it, the menu was huge and lots of bubble teas to choose from great Thai iced tea! We both had the Pho, the broth was a little watery tasting but you get a huge portion, we had the medium and it was huge, lots of noodles and meat! The only complaint was the waitress, she seemed a little annoyed that we were there and not friendly at all. After she took our order and eventually brought our drinks we never saw her again until I paid. The cook brought out the food. The four stars are definitely for the food not the service! Tasty food, good portions, and good price. I will definitely go back.

I came here by myself yesterday for lunch. The place was busy but there were still pleanty of seats. The service was not very friendly but quick. I ordered the medium tofu pho and it came to my table in about 45 seconds. The broth was really good, noodles were the right texture, and the tofu was fresh. Added some siracha, lime, and basil to the soup. Over all, really good soup and great for a quick lunch. They are open every day until 4am, and I would really like to see what kind of crowd is in there at that time of night. I will have to check it out sometime.

This is my go-to pho place whenever I'm in Tacoma. I love their pho broth - it's so aromatic and soothing especially on a cold, rainy day. They provide the freshest bean sprouts, basil leaves, sliced jalapenos and lime wedges to bury underneath that lovely broth. I can rarely finish all of their noodle soup so I try to order with less noodles and they are really good about modifying your order even if it doesn't appear that they are actually listening to you. They are extremely efficient as they are always busy. You seat yourself, someone comes up to you with a menu, then comes back with water and takes your order. Less than five minutes later, your food arrives. I enjoy their vietnamese sandwiches, pho, spicy pho (which is completely unique and not like bun bo hue at all), and vermicelli noodle bowls. However, I have learned to stay away from their overly greasy egg rolls which are unappetizing and their spring rolls, which are just so-so. They have delicious boba drinks, especially the taro and thai tea.

Pho Tai is very good at what they do! Restaurant is large and there is a lot of seating and space for large groups, food is good and decently priced, and the whole menu is available from open to close (9am-4am). It is like an Asian Denny's! With that said, the night crowd on the weekends can often make the restaurant loud, crowded, and make service uneasy and sumtimes very slow. During the summertime you will also run into "lingerers", or people who frequent this place (typically school age kids) who hang out here for hours on end! Overall its a good restaurant to eat at, and worth the experience, even if u never come back! If you are looking for a lil bit more home-cooked tasting food (still a lil Asian fast food tasting tho), quieter atmosphere, and more low key intimate setting, then just drive across the street to Pho Hoa! Owners are super friendly, and u can catch them there on any given night! They are also Vietnamese, unlike the owner of Pho Tai, and grew up cooking/eatting this food their whole lives!
