I read the Yelp reviews before I went to try this place. I was skeptical but had already purchased a coupon from Amazon Local. Service was not as bad as I read on the reviews. However the food was not good. The quantity is there but not the quality. The various meats (even the ones marinated) did not have much flavor at all. Another big issue for me is the bathroom was not clean. Old decrepit trashcan, no toilet seat covers and the toilet was in serious need of some bleach. We won't be back.

They charged me $12 for my 6yo to have a salad. Very confusing because there are no menus with prices at table, just under and behind payment counter. I never saw until paying because we were seated in front of restraunt. Food was mediocre at best. Lemonade was $4 a piece. If you are not Korean, I would skip. It was $60 for my family with a $10 off groupon (Wife, 6yo, 2yo whom was free, and myself). Again, nearly $20 for a 6yo to have a salad and lemonade. Never again.

Great customer service and food. Definitely by far the best korean BBQ restaurant. Prices are decent, recommend all you can eat.

I have been enjoying food here for 3 years. The food is very authentic, fresh and tasty. They have the best variety of kimchi sides around. I especially love the wasabi diakon. Their whole array of BBQ is amazing, so you can't go wrong. The all you can eat is worth it, though they did just change the menu a bit, taking off one of my favorite items, beef tongue. I guess not many people like it. The staff are busy but friendly and helpful. They know us well now, which I'm sure helps. I'm impressed with their principles on quality, as well. I asked for raspberry wine one time(which I order often), and the waitress said she wouldn't serve it because it wasn't chilled yet (it's supposed to be served very chilled). I would have had it warm, but she insisted it would be better for me to wait (she was very pleasant about it, and I really felt she just didn't want to serve me something that was not at its best). This is the only place that will let me order a to go box of sides. This is also a great place for kids who are adventurous eaters (or whom you want to make adventurous eaters). It's loud in there , but it's mostly from the BBQ tables and being so busy. I hope to keep coming to this place for years to come!

WORST SERVICE EVER. Don't suggest you to go there and waste your precious $21.99. I am telling you as a Korean person I am. The waiteress is not there for you, When you needed, you just wait 1 hour and you never able to make an eye contact with them. It is supposely unlimited buffet, but you will eat very much limited. They will bring you what you order but don't bring it because they forgot. They will not come back for your next order, so after you finish yours, just watch how other people eat. The waiteress never smile, no asking or concerning of your needs while you are eating, slow, and what you will expierence is that you will be forgotten. You are there as a ghost. While you are eating, the light on your table will be off because there's no one, so you feel that you should hurry and finish faster. When you order another dish, you will hear every single time that " You must to finish it, or we will charge you a penalty." There's a tons of good service provided Korean restaurant near by here. I am very upset and embarrased that I contributed their buiseness. Never again!

I have been here 3 times with my family and I honestly don't understand the negative revjews. My mother is Korean and I have spent the majority of my life in Korea or Japan. The price is decent and the meat doesn't come out frozen like it does at other places. I have had excellent service each time. I had Mul Naeng Myun with the all you can ear BBQ last time and it was pretty good. There is a large variety of meat for only $20/person.

I was shocked to see how low this establishment scored on Yelp... I went here to be adventurous during the lunch time hour which ALWAYS makes me nervous as hell. However I was presently surprised. Service was very fast and efficient, not to mention friendly. The food seemed of good quality. The dining area was clean albeit dated. There were quite a large variety of options to choose from; especially as far as condiments were concerned. My only complaint being that the menu was not very clear and what I thought was going to be a fifteen dollar meal was a twenty-three dollar meal. The price I saw was the Monday through Friday price. Still that was my fault for not learning to read Korean. It was still worth it though. On the plus side that is the price all day long on the weekends... I bet'cha I could do some REAL damage at dinner time! Definitely going to be eating here again.

The spicy pork was to die for. I loved the kimchi cucumbers and the broccoli salad that also had apples. The variety for the buffet was perfect. Wish I had two stomachs so I could eat forever. An older review said the buffet is $19.99 and it has gone up since then. Expect to pay about $30 not including tip. Loved that the food doesn't come out rolled up and frozen like other places. Completely better quality and flavor.

Understaffed (causing very slow service), cheap decor, tried to talk us out of the all you can eat buffet, and so-so food.

This Korean BBQ has nothing on the real ones in Korea but for being stateside, it is pretty damn good. The service has always been good for me. The ladies stop by quite frequently to cut and flip the meat as well as refill our drinks and side dishes. But I do agree with some of the comments about receiving horrible service during their busy hours. You just got to be aggressive and shout for what you need. It's called culture and they don't take offense to it. (And this is in no way to be confused with being rude or obnoxious.) Their meat selection could use some work. It's a hit and miss with the samgyupsal and galbi but 9 times out of 10, they are pretty good cuts. I'd say this is one of the better Korean BBQ places in Lakewood. After taxes, it's about $22. Not bad, if you can actually eat your money's worth.

For $25 of unlimited pork, beef and shrimp, I left this place smelling like burnt charcoals. Their vents don't work. The food was average. It was during lunch time, it was busy and the waitresses were attentive to us.

About as authentic Korean BBQ you can get , price isn't bad for this area, has me reminiscing of my times in Daugu . The spicy pork and marinated beef are really good along with the short ribs, are my favorite.

My Korean MIL chose Palace instead of our usual place since she said it was a all you can eat. The parking lot was a bit tough to navigate as it is in a complex and therefore shares all the spaces with 6 other shops and apparently it's a happening place in Lakewood. There are two 'sides' to the restaurant - one that's the standard traditional cooking table for BBQ and then tables without a stovetop. They apparently seat at both for the BBQ but bring a portal stovetop and place on the table. I browsed through the Yelp reviews while we waited for our food to come and saw the negative stars. It made me a lil apprehensive but I've always felt better going to a Korean place with my MIL as she is not shy and hates bad service. Sure enough, our server didn't come by but once to bring our 'meat'. She forgot to bring the other types of meat we asked for as well as to refill our drinks. We had to ask several times for drinks and finally (while I had stepped out) my MIL lectured the staff about the lack of food and flow. So then we got tons of food and multiple waitresses coming by but the food was just ok. I get for the price that it's a steal ($20 for buffet) but the service definitely made it a no go for me for the future. There are so many Korean BBQ places in Lakewood/Korea Town that I don't see why you'd put up with terrible service here.

groupon.com/bwf/80709762… Palace Korean Bar and Grill has great service, great food, and great prices. Granted I would state that the price is a bit steep in general (but very difficult not to with a buffet of 95% meat content where you grill it yourself), however with different group-on codes like the one I just posted above provides an example of how they are attempting to bring the prices down and potentially suffer financial set-backs to build up an audience of customers in the future $11.00 for $20 worth of Korean food is by far definitely worth it. On 1 May 2015 me and my family (two adults one 5 year old one 18 month old) arrived to Palace Korean Bar and Grill around 6-7 p.m. the place had all their table grills used. Typically we only eat the buffet option and previously experienced other individuals waiting on a grill table for their meals last time we experienced our meal there a couple weeks to months ago. This being said, this time we arrrived there we experienced a different grill option, it was interesting and curiousity was over-whelming my normally very analytical thoughts. They had a table grill that had a small gas(?) canister attached to the grill and a side bowl (think like georgeforeman's drip grease container) and it was very easy to understand the concept. Pros: Waiter would have their cook in the back prepare any marinated meats (I assume due to the grease and seasoning being more difficult to clean off the different grill possibly as well due to additional extra difficulty to cook on such a smaller sized grill) Decreased waiting time-frame if all the bigger grill tables are currently occupied Decreased possible smoking smell of grease directly from the food if previously cooking marinated meats. Cons: Due to the already understood busy status of the waiters possible delay of immediate attention (at least one time where the ability to order food was delayed for more than 3-8 minutes). Increased minimal wating time-frame (1-2 minutes?) for each initial meat to be cooked if not continuously cooked since after each meat being cooked turning off the grill's gas and the plate becoming not as warm anymore needing to wait for a slight steam to come off the grill plate before putting on the meat for most effective cooking without the meat sticking to the grill plate each time. (I view this as a con, you may view this as a pro, as I don't do much marinated meats and like continous cooking of meat to eat personally but you may like it due to the ability to better consider if you really are more hungry helping you to watch how much you eat or order next time. ) Possibly already stated above, increased waiting time-frame for ordering or requesting additional of food, or requesting check. Increased possible wait time for food to be provided to you if ordered something from the marinated option selections. However, this was my first experience with them offering this new option and I am certain that with all food buffet options in this manner one of a couple things are being looked and considered. If this place can offer more individuals a buffet style food option they are able to increase their overall potential profit, and if the customers are polite and considerate they will turn off the gas after each meat is finished cooking and they can be able to potentially offer more meats, cheaper prices like this group-on coupon, more waiters for more expedited services, and many more benefits that would be a win win for both the business and customer base. I only posted the group-on coupon due to the effectiveness of being able to provide the coupon as a manner how this place is trying and taking a chance to increase their customer basis and help others to know what to expect in their first experience if never visited. This is not a paid review. This is a review with a love for Korean buffet foods and personally thinking this is one of the best korean buffets to eat.

I've had Korean BBQ that friends have brought home for me, but I've never gone out to a restaurant for it so this was a whole new experience for me. I had been wanting to get Korean BBQ for awhile so my husband thought it would be a nice birthday treat to take me out for dinner at a restaurant of my choosing. I can safely say, best birthday gift ever! We just went recently (March 1st). Now my first impression admittedly is that the outside of the place is nothing to write home about. The inside however is fairly nice in contrast to the outside. The food was absolutely amazing. We had a little bit of everything, but our favorite meats were the marinated beef and marinated spicy pork. All the side dishes and extras were amazing as well. My husband's favorites were the spicy zucchini slices and the fish cakes. Mine were the wasabi white radish and sugar potatoes. If you're interested in Korean beer I would recommend Cass. Very smooth and light. I generally hate beer, but this beer was delicious. I fully intend to get it again next time I dine there. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. We explained to her the moment we sat down that we aren't familiar with Korean BBQ dining and she had no problem starting us off by cooking some of the meats herself at the table, showing us traditionally what things go with what condiments (for example the sugar soy, bean paste, wasabi white radish and marinated beef all wrapped up in the salad), recommending beers. She came by and checked our table fairly frequently without being intrusive or hovering too much. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I would most certainly dine here again.

It was alright. My friends and I ordered the All you can eat. I recently came back from LA... meaning this $15.99 all you can eat (dinner time) is super cheap compared to LA KBBQ. The meat was decent, we ordered the chadol (brisket), sangyupsal (pork belly?), the dwaeji bulgogi (marinated spicy pork), and galbi (short ribs). Starting off with the chadol- ehhh, I give it 4 stars. The sangyupsal wasn't too bad but I have had better, 4 stars. The dwaeji bulgogi......... was a.......... 1 star. For some weird reason.... it tasted... horrible!! We made things better by ordering the galbi ! The galbi turned our taste buds back around and enjoyed it, giving it 4.5 stars. I add the extra .5 because I am not a big fan of fatty... on meats and this galbi had very little fatty. We had a change of waitresses roughly 3 times and the first one I have to say... gave us an attitude. The other two had been friendly and helping on behalf of asking for more side dishes and bringing us things by seeing the empty plates. I have frequented here a few times over the years and have to say it isn't too bad.

This place is a disgrace. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible quality. The servers that work here automatically assume that my sister and I was Korean. After telling several of different servers that we weren't Korean. They proceed to still speak Korean to us. They never refill our waters, they never came to refill out food. Even though it was a "all you can eat." We hardly had much to eat, their quality of meat was old and smell. Their side dishes was less than any other Korean BBQ place I've been to. Please do not waste your money and time here. After flagging down someone to help refill our rice there was a fly in my sister's rice bowl. We informed the server and she did nothing, not even an apology. She just walked away. She only came to snatch the tongs from my hands and cook the meat all at once. We did not even ask them to. If I could give 0 stars. A NIGHTMARE of experience.

This place is no way near fed way restaurant but it's ok... but the staff was a little rude the first time I came in then I spoke to them in korean and they changed their mood. (Maybe cause I could understand them) the food was really good, but slacking in the portion sizes considering it was a group of 10 of us but hey its alright the food was good and so was the price. Wish it was a tad cleaner and brighter in there.

We love Korean food and had a Groupon for this place so we decided to give it a shot - it was a disappointment start to finish. Service for us was rude at best. Once we ordered it was like we were forgotten. Our drinks were empty forever, our sides were empty, there was no soup offered to us although it seemed all the other tables around us were given it? We were the only non-Korean table in the restaurant and it was pretty obvious that all the other tables were given much better service. Even my 7 year old commented on it - how blatant must the different treatment be for a child to notice it?! If you're looking for good food AND great service, go a few blocks south to Gangnam BBQ - fantastic service and much better food!

I'd give this place at LEAST a decent 4 out of 5 stars, but the only best experience I've ever gotten was my first time here. After that, every time I've gone here with my boyfriend has always been a terrible experience afterwards. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but I must say I've gotten the WORST, and I mean, WORST customer service here. Our waitress that served us didn't even seem like she enjoyed working here. Barely a "hi" or "hello!" As we came in, just pointed at our table and slapped the menus on top and left. It took a couple of minutes for us to order, and we got our food right away, but after that we never got acknowledged, never got asked how our food was, never even refilled our glasses of water. We never got noticed by our waitress during the entire time that I had to call the attention of another waitress if we can get our sides to our dishes. The second waitress was kind, but in the end our requests were forgotten and we pretty much wasted our freakin' time for nothing. Finally our original waitress came after an hour and gave us our receipts, but when I asked her for a box she just gave me a dirty look and walked away. Like are you freakin' kidding me?! I wouldn't mind a small exchange of kind words like "oh okay :)" and "oh of course you may!" But I get rude treatment instead?! When she came back with the box, she just handed it at me silently and just walked away. After this experience I am NEVER returning to this place ever again!

Worst place EVER! Way too expensive for below average food, service and cleanliness. The server was rude, she brought our food out late, didn't tell us that the kids drinks aren't refillable and we had some extra charges on our bill and we tried to ask them about the charges she started speaking Korean to us!!!

  • Rany S.

I've always enjoyed my time here. I've never had a problem with service or quality of food. In busier times, you do have to flag the servers down if you need something but after you do, everything always comes out quickly. My bf and I always walk out feeling like we need to unbutton out pants because we ate so much, haha. All-you-can-eat meat for $20/person isn't bad and you really do get what you pay for. I love all the side dishes that accompany your meal (as with all Korean BBQ joints that I've been to). Palace has never disappointed us, the servers have always been friendly to us and the food is always great. They also have really long tables to accommodate larger parties for Korean BBQ.

I wish there was no star.....Last night I had thee SHITTIEST experience here! It was a friends bday so they decided to come here....they came at 7:30 I personally didn't get there til almost 9....not only did I felt annoyed because she took forever to bring me a drink and a stupid bowl of rice....which my friend ended up giving me hers, but out server kept slamming stuff down infront of me telling me, try this, try that, eat with this....I felt like I was being rushed to eat, damn she mind as well shovel shit down people's throat then!!! I literally I had about 8 little slice of short ribs and about two pick for the meat...I was charged $25......this to me was not even worth it! I'm Asian, for $25 I could have gotten better services, better side dish and better quality of food. Not only was our server slow, inexperience and bitchy, it took her extra long to figure out two of my friends tab because they was splitting it and paying for their sister, took her another 30 minutes for the rest off out tab....to me this place isn't worth it, thus being said, me and my friends will not be coming back here, and I'll be sure to tell my other friends and clients from my salon about this sorry ass experience!!!!!

Ate here for the first time the other day, food was nothing special. Had the ribs which were so tough they hurt my teeth. The prices sure seem to be on the high side. Waitress was rude. Barely sat down and looked at menu, waitress already asked for order even before I was in my seat. Didn't ask everyone in my party what they wanted to drink. Slammed our food down when it was ready. Don't think I will be coming back.

Service is not great. They are not polite and they try to ignore you so you will leave. The meat was not all that fresh, the under part of the meat was brown like it was old. . The federal way one was better.

Worse service I have ever encountered. I have never been treated so poorly by the staff. I would understand if I was making a scene or being an unruly customer, but I was not doing anything of the sort. My husband and I went to try out the place based on the good reviews we received from friends. I want to say the food was good, but it was bland - not sure if the prep was done hastily, but either way it lacks flavour. What really upset me was the customer service. I wish we had the nice waitress who took our drinks, but we ended up with the mean one. She only took care of the larger parties and left the smaller 2-3 parties alone for awhile. After we and the table next to us picked the last piece of meat off the grill she quickly came around, shut off the gas on both tables without asking if we wanted anything else, and left. Both we and the table next to us were shocked. Less than 5 minutes later, she brings the bills to both tables and ask if we wanted to order more. Not sure what the other table said, but my still hungry and dissatisfied husband just informed her no, and we'll pay the bill. Even though the food was bland, I would let it slide. But customer service is not something I would let slide. As a former waitress, that attitude does not fly for long until someone complains. Not sure if she was pushing out the smaller tables faster for tip purposes, but it's still not right. Yes I understand it's only 21$ but it's a business and should treat customers better if they want people to come back. Not sure if I would go back again (I believe in second chances) but if I do it certainly won't be any time soon.

Friendly service and delicious food. I particularly like the side dishes that are brought out. I had the spicy pork bento box and it was a very large portion of delicious food. Definitely will last the average person for 2 meals.

Came here for the first time over the weekend. The staff was very friendly, and the good was delicious. It is a little spendy, but I personally thought it was well worth it. They also didn't tear the tongs out of my hands when helping us cook. (This was a problem I've run in to at other places) Certainly going to return(:

If i could give a negative star i would. Food is ok but the service man it's horrible. We have been here on numerous occasion and service was so so. when we visited this time around we practically got kicked out. And older short lady with a bobbed haircut basically told us to GTFO while my friend and I were eating. Before saying that she was giving us the stink eye as well every time she pass us by. When she said you need to go because others are waiting i looked around the restaurant and no one was there. No line none. I mean granted it wasn't like people would all show up at 9pm and demand that my friend and i were going to have get up. Plus there empty tables around us. We were enjoying our time and the first lady said left over is 5 dollars. We weren't done eating. So when we started to finish up she shut the gas off and said to go. Yup we will go and never again come back. I salute you small evil lady with a bitch face with no customer service skills you lost yourself customers.

To those who are non Koreans, this is a place where you will discover what it means to have a true Korean customer service. Rule #1 expect to have a bad service (except few peoples because I know they are very kind hearted peoples) they will not talk to you because they dont speak English well, Rule #2 dont think they are always smiling and saying thank you typical Asian ladies, they are pissed off because you are keep ordering something that cost too much for the boss and the servers gets yelled at if they serve too much of Krn LV BBQ ribs to the customers. Rule #3 If you dont tip them they will force it out on you. If you are not satisfied with their customer service, know that there is no one to complain to except Food inspections, the Boss or the owners do not care anything of what you got to say or the yelp. oh and did I mentioned if you dont tip they come back out and grab you and demand for tip? if you say no i wont tip you then they yell at you saying "YOU DIDNT LIKE MY SERVICE WHY?!" These ladies (again 2 or 3 ladies are kind ladies) are very rude, disrespectful and do not care your dinning experience. in conclusion, do not go here if you are wanting to have great experience....I would recommend this place to those are who wanting to eat so much to the point where you want to test their patience then do so :) Oh and to my fellow Koreans who can speak Korean well, you already know what this place is like....in order to get your good customer service...you gotta make sure you dont fear them. (Again this is to the mean and rude waitresses!!)

Great place to come together with friends and family and grill some meat. Beer was ice cold and the meat was fresh and very delicious. Great atmosphere. If you like Korean cuisine then this is one of the finest places to be

The food was excellent! The server came by and cooked our food! I wish I caught her name but sadly I didn't. My friends and I were uber hungry when we got there and after ordering our food not even ten minutes later, we had all the sides, our drinks and the food ready to be prepared! The meat or seafood (squid and calamari), is made in front of you which is always nice! The only thing that I would wish for next time o go is the cleanliness. We had a huge cobweb caked with dust bunnies just hanging above us but the table was clean and the food was terrific so I know I'll be back.

We went there yesterday on a Sunday, and the place was extremely busy. Even though with their popular demand and limited staffs, the service was way better than other Korean BBQ. They were very attentive, and work very hard to accommodates your needs. I personally like to cook my foods, but they come by every once awhile to check on your food, and what else you might needs. If they're busy racing around to meet the service for other patrons, and you need something so bad, you just catch their attention and they will take care of you. For the price I pay, and what I got for the experience and the atmosphere of the food and service; it was a well worth experience at the Lakewood Palace Korean Bar & Grill. It you have never been there or had experience a Korean BBQ, I would definitely recommended to give this place a try. If this is a first time, you need to come here and experience a real delightful menu, with a unique array of side dishes. If you're a guy that has just want to relax after a long day, and starve for a good feast; do the BBQ. I personally love to down it with a nice Corona, but there's plenty other alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks for the family. If you have a group function is equally a good place to discuss ideas while watching the food to cook; nothing like good foods to brainstorm and collaborate team work. As a family man, my kids eat like a horse, and the youngest like to cook the food. They enjoyed the time there and how full they feel when they leave. I will tell you, it is roughly $21.99 per person, might be less for young kids. Or you can get a group deal for $60, and another one for $80. With a family of six , our 4 teenager ranging from 17 to 10 years old was stuff with the $80 menu. We're Asian, so think about it accordingly to your kids appetite. There's also a Groupon for $13 that's equal a $20 value that you can use on the bill. It's a 7 bucks save, but better than nothing. The only thing I would love them to do, but I don't know if that's possible is a value customer reward program. You know, if you have gone there 10 times within a few months or just 10 times, then you would get one free meal or use that to take off a larger bill. Just a thought. I normally don't write this much for any restaurant, but they deserve my patron and this little excerpt. You will read some other negative review, and I saw that before I went there, but I took my wife there anyway and gave it a try. Well, I think they gave those negative review due to how there personality view of what it should be. Everyone is different in their view in life and whatever come their way. You got your opinion and I got mine. So give it a chance and formulate your own review and post it. You can only get a real picture when you have experience the real thing. All this blogging give you some ideas, but you have to be there and formulate your own opinion. Anyhow, if you still reading this, I commend you on this journey. From the awesome man himself Andrew Zimmerman, "If it look good, just eat it!" And trust me, it does look good. I bid you good appetite, and Bon appetite!

Went to this place for a friends going away dinner, it was good nothing special the Korean BBQ is about the same everywhere you go. I was not disappointed. The service was good the food quality was good nothing stood out above any other Korean BBQ place that I've been to though. If your in the area give it a shot, its definitely worth trying out.

Read a few of the reviews on Yelp and got mixed reviews from worst to best place ever, so I decided to try for myself. I'd say not a bad experience. I can see why some might think the servers rude, but I think it's just because the servers might not speak very well english. So if you look past that fact it'll be fine. Didn't really enjoy that you had to keep ordering the meat for your table, (Cham Garden allows you to get up and get it yourself), but the service was always timely and correct even when you order 20 plates throughout the meal. Heard bad reviews about the meat, but I found it to be good quality and full of flavor. Plus the fact that you get a multitude of options is always awesome in my book. The price seemed a little steeper than other places with the all-you-can-eat being $22, but they often have good Groupon deals that make it super affordable for cheapskates like myself. Overall good experience and recommend others to give it a try.

It was kind of busy and we wanted BBQ but all of the seats with grills were taken. This nice man seats us in the regular dining area and says he will bring us a table top grill instead. So we wait.. And wait... And wait some more. The waitress came by to wipe the table and take our order, so i tell her what we wanted. She just kind of looked at us like a deer in the headlights and walked away. We thought maybe she was placing our order so we wait some more. She then goes on to help the other tables and brings out their food and grills and such and we're still sitting, menus still on the table. I don't want to assume it's because of our ethnicity but that's how she made us feel seeing as the other guests she helped weren't Caucasian like us. She kept walking past us and we tried to flag her down. We gave up after about 45 minutes and stood up to leave. She starts to chase us to the door and ask why we're leaving so we tell her and she denies it! "I thought you were waiting for grill" so in response we reply "Look, we watched you bring two other tables of grills and food while you let us sit and wait. I guess we weren't important enough to be served. You didn't even offer us the buffet menu so we were ordered the expensive plates and you STILL never brought them. I guess you didn't want our business or money." All she said was No No No then ok, thank you thank you as we walked out. Shame on you Palace. You used to be so good and the service used to be awesome. What happened to you???? This was my go to place for BBQ and Korean food and I always raved to friends but my last experience was embarrassing. I won't be back :( it's a shame that the guests I brought with me had never experienced Korean food or BBQ and this was the impression they got.

I go here every now and then simply because it's open later than any other Korean bbq joint in the area. If it weren't for the extended hours, I probably would eat somewhere else. As for the food, it's great and there's a vast selection of food to choose from when it comes to the all you can eat. I had to wait almost 10 minutes between water refills and ended up asking 4 times for the bean paste soup before receiving it. When it came time to pay, I had a Groupon for $20 worth for $11, restrictions being the limit of one per table. I was with two other people, and the cashier refused to take my Groupon solo. I ended up having to pay all together to get the deal. In conclusion, unless it's too late, id find another place to grab korean bbq.

I understand the complaints about the service, BUT... In the context of Korean cuisine the service is fairly Korean. You need to be proactive with getting the server's attention. It's rude in the USA for us to yell "[hey Auntie]!!!" to get your servers attention, but in Korea it is rude for the server to disrupt your meal without being called over. This place does a good job of bridging the divergent serving styles of the two cultures but if you're proactive you will be perfectly satisfied. On my recommendation, go for the all you can eat. The moment your server comes to your table, order WATER, TEA, 1 through 9, 13 and 14. Review the menu for your second round. When your water is empty, move it into view. Say hello to any server if you need service. Trust you've been acknowledged (even if it seems like your hello just got snubbed). They'll take care of you.

This place is awesome!!! The people who say the service is bad are dumb. The food is awesome and the service is quick. I was feeling super nostalgic for Korean food and this place was perfect! The food was as good as most of the places I ate in Seoul and the service was super friendly! I hate to recommend this place because I don't want it to be packed next time I come back :)

Our dining experience was lovely. We sat at a grilling table and our waitress was very attentive in helping us grill, keeping the banchan and water glasses filled. We came on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy. I would come here again. The price is decent and the food is delicious.

Been here several times and the Korean barbecue has always been a hit. Service was great. Our server kept checking on us and made sure the meat was cooked thoroughly. This place is perfect if you're looking for a good Korean barbecue place!

I have been here a few times and just read the reviews today right before we went there to dine. I have to disagree on the bad customer service, especially the ones based on the patrons feeling its due to race. I am not saying that they may not have received the service they feel they deserve, however our experience has never been like that. My family is about as white as you get, my kid has green eyes and sandy shaggy surfer hair and at 8 he can put down the Korean BBQ buffet. We have went to a few others on South Tacoma Way and always find ourselves coming back here. The food is incredible and the staff is always VERY kind to us, they even go out of their way to see if there are new dishes our son would like to try and expressed how great they thought he was with chopsticks and to teach him how to order in Korean, I loved it! Tonight our burner had an issue and three servers worked together for 15 minutes trying to make sure our food cooked properly so we could keep eating and the place was PACKED. Then they found a way to fix it and there were no further hitches. This will always be our favorite place to have Korean BBQ, Thanks Ladies!

I bought a $20 Groupon deal and took my girlfriend for a lunch. The place was ok, nothing fancy or nasty. We sat down and put the groupon ticket on the table before ordering as it instructed. The waitress handed the menu and saw our groupon voucher and said that we can only order lunch box from a lunch menu or something from a dinner menu then she brought the dinner menu. We looked over the groupon but there was no restriction written on it. We ordered the bulgogi and spicy pork lunch boxes. It was a while before the waitress brought one lunch box and it took another 10 min to bring the second lunch box. My hungry friend has to nibble off from my lunch. They could brought the banchan at least but banchan came with her lunch box. The service wasn't bad, waitress was friendly and nice but the food was soso. Bulgoi was pretty blend and spicy pork didn't have many pieces of meat, it was full of onions. It was also made with porkbelly instead of regular pork meat. One thing really bothered me was that I found a piece of hair in my spicy pork when I was packing the left over. ewww... I was waiting for my bill but the waitress just told me that our food was only $18.84 and since the groupon was $20, there is no refund. She never brought the bill or receipts. oh well. I don't think I would buy another groupon for this place (a new one is running on groupon). I won't go back either because there are better places. I'd go back to Paldo World food court or Happy Teriyaki #4 on 100th st. They are so yummier than here.

What a deal! It's only $15.99 for ayce kbbq at dinner. Stopped by here on the way during a long drive home after a weekend in Portland. There was quite a long wait, but it was a busy Sunday evening and to be expected. They let us sit at another empty non-BBQ table and served water/tea during the wait, unlike most Korean restaurants that ignore you until it's your turn. We got a couple rounds and definitely got our money's worth. Quality of the meat, sides, and veggies were all on the upper end of what you'd expect for this type of establishment. What I love about Palace is that the service is much nicer than you expect at typical Korean restaurants. What a refreshing change! I'll def be back the next time I'm craving kbbq!

Do not come here if on a date. If you are anything like me and love Korean BBQ then you're about to go HAM on some meat. Not the most pleasant sight for a first couple of dates. But if you're super confident then more power to you :) good luck I know the staff so they treat me with I feel extra service. But then Again they know I tip well. However this place is mown to have pretty bad service especially when it gets busy. Some of the ladies are mean and slightly rude but do not let them deceive you, they are all good at heart and super hard working.(they may be having a bad day). Food is always the same so it's consistent which is a good thing. From what I've observed the amount of fat on the beef brisket was about the same every time I went there. So that's a thumbs up for me since the beef brisket is my favorite.

Horrible service. Didn't refill our drinks or ask if we wanted more Korean BBQ (all you can eat). The servers were flat-out rude and unprofresh. It's ghetto as hell. Mind you, it is South Tacoma but still. Grossly ghetto. Not enough banchan (side dishes), there were only five when there's usually 8. And lastly, got food poisoning. Awesome-sauce.

Came here for the first time with some friends this past week. We had dol sot bibimbap, dukboki and soon dubu. The food tasted okay, but was nothing special. There are better Korean places in Tacoma. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I helped organize a job transfer party for a friend/ coworker, I called a day ahead and asked for a " table for 15 ". Well right there if you can not freaking handle it tell me now? What an appalling place this is! I literally have spent the past 27 years of my life crawling up and down South Tacoma Way, for work, food, shopping or food. The variety of great things to east on this strip is mindblowingly diverse, reasonably priced and good! Please if you care anything about your time and money consider yourself warned 1.drunks? What restaurant doesn't push drinks? I myself asked four times for a second OB, my husband twice! My friends mixed drinks took an act of congress! 2. They were set ip for 12 not 15 3. Completely ignored, not offered anything with out asking 4. Banchan literally dropped in the plates on my plate be aide I did not see her coming. Boiling hot tofu soup almost went into the guest of honor's lap 5. The food os " ok" but they bring you nothing but meat and banchan unless you ask, we had to ask for rice , there were no wraps brought to the table 6. Banchan was blah, kimchi was really scrappy, no one ever checked on the side dishes 7. $15.99 combo costs $25! Do NOT add a tip with out checking 8. My husband was yelled at at the register about splitting the bill! Seriously yelled at! Then over charged! The very best part? We all were stopping by the said cashier who demanded, after we paid twice what the meal was worth, to show her our receipts ( the ones we just received from her ) because we were trying to skip out on the bill! If I have my choice in this world, my last meal on this planet will be a traditional Korean meal....I am not a great fan of Korean BBQ joints in general, I love soups and stews. But it is " fun" to eat Korean style BBQ with friends. We had a blast, because we were together But this place is NOT fun, a COMPLETE rip off, and they are flat out rude rude people. Save your money, lesson learned! I believe I have heard the Federal Way Palace is much better I am NOT chancing it! There is so much great Korean food around here, why bother?

This place was just alright. I went with my family and the AC must have not been working because it was freaking sweating balls hot in there. AND we were bbqing so that just made it even worse. I can't remember much about how the service was but I do remember there was a massive amount of food. We had probably 7-8 people and we order a plate of meat to grill for 4 and we had left overs! There was a lot of food. There wasn't that many banchans (my favorite) but there was tons of meat of all types. The second time I went it was super packed and no one paid attention to us. After awhile we just left. So I must say the service is just horrible. And by reading others reviews. The service is probably a big problem here.
