I love the fresh cooked meals & authentic flavors. The Chicken Gyros & Fried Zucchini are my favorites, but everything is delicious!

Love it here! I always order the falafel and dolma dinner. The falafel is the best! Cooked to perfection. The hummus is also great. Service is pretty fast too considering how busy they are. I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great food and great service.

Love the food here and we usually do takeout for the whole family. The food is always good, the hummus is excellent and we continue to get food here when we can. The chicken is fabulous!

Great little place! Really great food and nice people! I will be returning to try more of their foods! I have recently decided to stop going to large chain restaurants and make a move towards supporting small local places! This place has just reinforced my decision! Oh yeah the prices were amazing too!

My Husband and I've been here a few times. This is where we go when we are craving for delicious gyros. So glad we don't have to commute all the way to U District for it anymore. It's a very inexpensive meal for under $8 you can get a huge gyro, fries, and a fountain drink. We even ordered to go for my Cousins to try. They enjoyed it too. Next time we come here, I want to try their plated meal.

my weekly Gyro fix. Best gyro around. Service is quick, restaurant if clean, and the food is outstanding. A girl can't ask for much more in a restaurant.

Nice local place! Stopped by after craving some gyros with the boys, and was surprised at the friendliness of the employees and how cute and clean the appearance of the place was. I opted for the 'FALAFEL ON PITA' for $5.45, which is always a nice option for people who don't eat meat, or don't feel like eating meat and it was pretty tasty! Now I officially have food coma..... Must mean it's goooooooooooood. :) MENU: olivetreemenu.com/menu.h…

The gyro's are sooooooo yummy! The ambience is unappealing so I usualy get it to go. Decent prices as well.

  • Pajci N.

Pros: Great service and food was good and fresh. Generous portion, even enough to share or take home. The wierd thing was when I was eating there I felt like I was actually at Greeek or something because of the music background. My favorite was the baklava. Cons: Can't think of any other than it was a bit far for us! **Get Restaraunt.com coupon for this place and you will save alot of $$! **

I've known about this place for some time, I decided to try it, $7 for a Gryo, fries and drink not bad the fries were good but they over did it on the sauce but for $7 it was worth it.

  • Cindy P.

What can I say, except i love the food and the workers! The gryro is delicious. In fact, im going to get one right now!

  • Ben J.

Ordered the Gyro on Pita combo (greek fries & drink). What a great Gyro! They don't skimp on the amount of meat and the portion was big. The pita tasted great, mix of veggies and the sauce was perfect, very impressed. And the price was very reasonable for what you got. The staff was cool and served the food to the table quickly. Definitely will be visiting this place frequently as it is a quick drive from my house.

  • Jenny R.

This is my favorite place. I like getting the tabbouleh, gyro meat and tzaki. It's a perfect meal of their best stuff. My sister in law loves their fries, my SO likes the chicken schwarma plate and wouldn't stop talking about it. They are super nice here and the prices are really reasonable.

  • Jaymee M.

I just tried this place on Saturday with the fam. I had the gyro plate and it was fantastic! So much food for the price. My husband had the gyro and the olive tree fires, again, huge portions. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well. We will be back again when we are in the area.

  • Lynn S.

I recently moved to this area and found the Olive Tree through Yelp and it did not disappoint. Although it is a bit tricky to see the Olive Tree from Kent-Kangley it's not hard to spot the yellow/orange strip mall it is in. Getting past that the food and friendly staff are outstanding. It seems to be a family run business with great prices and food. I have been there twice and have tried both the gyro and chicken shawarma lunch combos. Each came with a heaping serving of "Olive Tree Fries" and a drink for around $8. This is defiantly a place that is on my list to go to often, and I highly recommend making the trip to the Olive Tree.

Stopped in today at about 3pm after doing laundry had gyros tabouleh and baklava. I love their take on Greek food. The textures and flavor were perfect and I'm feeling very full and satisfied. I'm glad that we took time to try a new place. Will be sure to go back. Very affordable, good portions, and great for a casual date. Service was speedy and thoughtful without perstering. Overall the best I've tasted in awhile. Can't beat the price to experience ratio. :) If you're sombody caught up on decor this is a casual place, but not a hole in the wall either. I give them an A.

Since getting memberships to the 24 Hour Fitness that's in the same complex, my husband and I have been eating here very frequently. The service is very friendly, and they seem genuine. One night my husband and I walked in 2 minutes before closing, and they graciously took our order (we tipped accordingly). The food is always fresh, and the portions are very generous. The prices are extremely fair, if not a bargain. A couple of notes, it is cheaper to order a "sandwich" combo which includes fries and a drink, than to order just a sandwich and fries. The math is odd, but I'll take it! And everytime I order something with chicken kebab, it always takes an extra 10-15 minutes because it is made fresh. Keep that in mind. I love this place.

    (5)
  • Natalie L.

Delish gyro's! They charged me 2 dollars extra though for just a plain veggie gyro.... hence the three stars and not four. It also gets super busy near closing time, which is always the worst when you're just ordering something small to go. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood for Mediterranean food! I'll just be sure to check my receipt...

    (3)
  • Jade H.

Excellent Chicken Kebabs! I stop by anytime I am passing through Kent.

  • JILL W.

The taste of the food is tremendous. It has a very laid-back atmosphere and it is kid-friendly. I have eaten here three times.

    (5)
  • Jessica M.

Amazing place and very friendly employees, I go here often and sometimes eat dinner there all week! It's authentic and full of flavor. I have been to many greek/ mediterranean places and this is so far the best as far as flavor goes.

    (5)
  • HK J.

Great food. The falafel is one of the best I've had. The fries are pretty bomb. I will say I think they need a new or additional manager. The service is slow, even when there's no one in there. The employees need to be reminded of their priorities, but the food is good and I will definitely go back.

  • Travis E.

Let's get the most important bits out of the way first. I've only been to a couple of Mediterranean style restaurants but this is the best gyro's I've ever had. And the shawarma (the chicken equivalent of gyro meat) was excellent as well. The rice that came with the dinner platter my wife got was so yummy. The raisins hidden throughout gave an occasional sweet surprise. I also ordered a side of falafel, which I've never eaten, but two days later still has me wondering why I don't eat it with every meal. As a reply to a previous reviewer, I believe they shave the meat and put it in a warming pan because they shave it as soon as it gets crispy. I've never had a gyro that they made sure the meat was crispy but I refuse to ever eat it another way again. (Too much?) The staff was friendly and quick. They patiently answered ours and other guests questions about the food. I wanted to know what the nutty-lemony brown spice in the shakers on the table was and what it was used for (Sumac btw) and they were quick to answer and eager for me to try some. The restaurant is really more of a deli atmosphere then sit down place. There are four tables for four and three tables for two along the walls and a walk up counter to order and pay. The atmosphere is casual but nice enough. If you live close, I suggest ordering to-go and enjoying your treats at home.

Fantastic food. I have never had a bad meal. Lamb kabob dinner is a favorite.

  • Maryneth K.

SO much food for their platter/combo deals. Really great hummus and gyro meat. At first, I was like, "Wow, Middle Eastern food near the old Albertson's which is now a 24 Fitness. So random!" But then I ate here and I really liked it. The people here are really nice and the food is good. I like this place a lot.

  • Alleah S.

I love their food... I always order lamb kebab... I went here 4 times.. Love it

  • Nicole N.

I love Mediterranean food and am so happy to find a place that does it right. I have been once and will definitely be returning. I had the gyro dinner which for $9 was a ton of food. It included hummus, salad, tabbouleh, rice, potatoes, olives, pita bread and gyro meat. It was a great meal. I also got a side of the grape leaves which were pretty good as well. The guys working were very friendly and told me the restaurant is family owned and opened about a month ago. I recommend checking this place out. Great food, great value.

    (4)
  • Chet F.

Large portions. I ordered the gyro and fries for lunch one day. I could not believe the amount of gyro meat that was added to my already full pita. The only down side is that he pulled the meat out of a warming pan instead of it being cut directly off the spit. The fries were cooked perfectly crisp and fresh to order. The covered in feta cheese and herbs. It was a ton of food for a great price. Super friendly people! Will def be back to try something else.

  • Mira L.

This place is delish and the owners are so nice. Even though it's only been open a couple months I've been several times. It's a healthy lunch option on the go or dine in. The gyros are very filling and the dinner plate is HUGE. The lentil soup is good as well. The food is very reasonably priced. It's my new favorite place to eat when I'm in the area.

  • Lisa F.

This place rocks! If you have not tried the Olive Tree in Kent, you have not tasted anything! I have never had anything less than delicious and amazing while dining at The Olive Tree. This family owned and operated restaurant has a Southern European delicatessen feel and authentic Mediterranean taste. The happy and helpful staff are very welcoming and the amazing music keeps the upbeat atmosphere moving. The vast menu has anything Greek from lamb/beef and chicken gyros to traditional Greek soup. You may even order a customized rendition of the available entrees and sides. My personal favorite is the braised lamb shank dinner. It is slowly simmered in highly seasoned broth which produces a tender, melt-in-your-mouth, flavorful delight and served with seasoned rice, pita bread, vegetables and taziki dipping sauce. I highly recommend trying the hard-to-find delicacies like the Special Blend hot teas and Greek yogurt beverages.

  • Jenny D.

Been meaning to try this place for a while. I always get a coupon in Val-pak and save it, but then never use it! Finally made it in today and I am very impressed. So very good. Go try it, don't wait like I did!

  • Mike G.

This place was really good. Just went for lunch with some co-workers and we will be back. I got the lunch gyro combo with rice instead of fries. The gyro was really tasty and the rice was also very good. I sampled the chicken meat and while the flavor was good, the meat was dry. I'll stick with the gyro. The younger guy (maybe in his 20's) behind the counter was very nice and is a good cook too.

    (4)
  • Ken S.

Love the gyros and biryani rice. Service is good too.

My bf loves this place! It's his favorite quick mediterranean fix. Great flavor tzatziki and meat, and it's HUGE in portions.

One of favorite restaurants in Kent. The food is good and the service is great. Since my wife and I have been coming here, they've become friends and remember what we like. Ranj, Salar, Dana - great job, guys!

I saw this place through one of my fellow Yelper's and decided to bookmark. I deceided to make a pit stop in this place on a Friday afternoon and have a late lunch. This is a family run business., so I can respect this kind of place. Everything on the menu looked good, but I settled on the combo 2 with gyro and I went with the tabouleh salad. The gyro was awsome, the meat was tender and the spices were coming through even wit the fresh vegtables and cucumber sauce. I could have just eaten the gyro by itself. The pita bread itself was great, I believe they make their own house pita. I overheard one of the guys in the back saying to a customer that its 2 days worth of dough. The only thing I did not like was the tabouleh, just because I didn't know what it was and was going off a picture they had out. I'm not a big fan of parsley, so we can stop right there. ...but it was lemon-y which I used to cleanse my palate after each bite of my gyro. Overall, I'll have to go back and bring my family next time and have dinner there. I cant wait to try the shawarma.

  • Janette M.

First time here but lov eit! Huge portions for food and overall taste great and price is not bad. Had the gyro dinner. Also tried the mixed shawarma and gyro (w/ lamb and chicken), twas good too! Came w/ fresh salad and pita bread. Staff is friendly and the place is casual, clean, although small..I can just imagine eating lunch here on weekdays..probably busy. Came here on a Sunday for late lunch, fast service.

Love the olive tree. Consistently good food, and service at a reasonable cost. I just wish they had a larger are to eat there.

  • Jaysterama H.

Wow! We tried the Olive Tree for the first time last night and it was great. This place is only 1 mile from our house and I am sorry we have not been there sooner, but thanks to Yelp we found it. Generous portions and excellent flavors. We'll be back!

    (4)
  • Elizabeth A.

Love the food at this place. Tons of favor, good service, prices appropriately. Space is tight though. Once we actually had no where to sit for a while. We had to wait out a family that was finished eating but not finished talking. So good though and worth the wait. Definitely recommend this place! A step up from the average Gyro restaurant.

Best gyros I've ever had. Staff is very friendly and always a clean resturant and bathroom. Love this place!

We stopped here on a short weekend trip up north and saw the reviews on yelp. Great food. Shawarma was excellent and the baklava was really tasty. If in this direction great place to eat. Owners are really nice and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Tell them you heard abou them on yelp... They like that.

I have just finished my Olive Tree takeout styrofoam clamshell of goodness, and now I'm kicking myself for not having known about this place sooner. For $10, I got a heaping plate of fresh, handmade Mediterranean goodness. I had the shawarma and gyros combo plate, which comes with delicious, raisin-and-carrot studded pilaf redolent of cinnamon, rich hummus, a very fresh Greek salad generously ornamented with whole olives, pickled beets, cucumbers and sport peppers, perfectly-flavored tzatziki, piping-hot Greek pita bread, and a pile of tender grilled meats. I feasted, for about half what I'd pay at other Greek places in Kent. I will be back. They might even get tired of seeing me.

    (5)
  • Erica X.

Best gyros I've had in a long time, and the bakalavas are delicious too!

    (5)
  • Andrea S.

First time to the Olive and and we can't wait to go back. It's very close so we will be regulars! We have the Chcken Schwarma --it was firm and packed with garlic! We enjoyed the potatoes that were cool but again full of flavor. I would like to see more seating...the 6 tables filled up quicker then the plates could be cleared. It's a good take out or dine in place!

  • Andrey R.

Great food and prices! Try the lamb and dessert. The staff is friendly and the place is clean.

    (5)
  • joe c.

The food is great greek food, especially for the price. Beats fast food for lunch anytime. They are at times a little slow, especially if there is a line. I would have given them 5 stars otherwise.

  • Sheena D.

The Olive Tree has become a favorite weekly stop. Your best bet is Combo #4 a gyro, a beverage, and a Greek salad. The food is made to your preference and my favorite add on is the spicy sauce. If you want a meal with enough left over for lunch the next day or you are ready to indulge the dinner plate is the way to go. The menu has pictures for most items so you know what you are getting and the staff answers all my crazy questions when I am trying something new. This family operated business is a must visit if you are in the area and even if you are not. The menu is fun to explore!

  • Polly R.

highly recommended place - we tried most everything (love the hummus, lamb and chicken schwarma) and its always fresh with giant portions ( had a ton of leftovers for lunch today and it was just as yummy) also the baklava was excellent as well - a perfect dessert after a perfect meal support your local business - try a tasty gyro today !!

  • Dan C.

This place is amazing. I just went and got a to go order about an hour ago and I am hooked! I couldn't decide on a Gyro or Schwarma and the folks behind the counter let me have a sample of each. Both were great, but the lamb is my favorite. My wife and sister came with me and ordered Lamb Gyros and I decided to roll chicken. It was a little dry / crispy but the tzitki(sp) sauce made it just about perfect. We also had the Olive Fries which were super delicious and plentiful. This place has it all: Good food, great portions, friendly employees, and quick service. And to add the cherry on top, they accidentally made me a Gyro instead of a Schwarma and without blinking an eye they fixed it and made me a Schwarma and gave us the extra Gyro for free!

    (5)
  • M N.

I give this place a 5 star for the following reasons Food: Great Service: Great Time to acquire food: roughly 3 minutes for gyro's and 10 minutes for larger menu items. The food tastes absolutely wonderful. The only thing missing is a good bottle of hot sauce if you like spice. The one they have is mediocre.

    (5)
  • Lesley H.

Fantastic food at a great price! The kids love it and so do the parents! Chicken Shawarma is my fave but the kids love the gyros and the hub is a combo fan - there are usually leftovers for the next day (YUM!). Go on Friday nights - homemade naan, which is warm and soooo good! The nisk (lentil soup) can have more rice one day, more lentils the next...and never disappoints! Only slow when there's a line - but they make the food on site and it's worth the wait! DId I mention they make their own baklava?

    (5)
  • Miles T.

I decided to try this place with my wife. It was awesome! The baba ganoush and hummus were obviously homemade and some of the best I've had. But the topper.....believe it or not was the rice. It was so flavorful and fluffy, it was some of the best rice I can remember having at a greek restaurant. I also had the Gyro, it wasn't the best I ever had, but it was certainly way about average. I can't wait to go back!! If you like Mediterranean do yourself a favor and try Olive Tree. At least if enough people try it, it will help them stay open, so I can keep goin'.

  • Lorena L.

We wanted to get away for just a quick dinner on our anniversary this year so we went online and discovered there was a Mediterranean/Greek place just a few minutes away. The feel of this busy restaurant is that of a deli or teriyaki shack but the food was fabulous. We had a chicken shawarma and an open-faced gyro. Both dishes were generous and delicious. The salad, lemon potatoes and olives were wonderful complements to the savory meal. As we dined there was a non-stop stream of customers even though this restaurant is not particularly visible in its location in a strip mall across the highway from the Kent-Kangley Safeway. The staff were courteous and helpful and the prices were very reasonable. We took a take-out tray of baklava home so we could sample all the different kinds when we were not so full and they were delicious as well!

  • Keith H.

I have been by once with my wife to eat in and also have gotten to go. This is in a strip malll toward the back of the parking lot, behind Sharis Restaurant. The portions are very generous, prices are good, and the food in phenomenol. Definitley can recommend this place.

I came here the other night with a hangry craving! The Olive Tree satisfied it beyond measure!!! I ordered a gyro combo with fries, telling the order taker that I was super hungry for some good eats ... she suggested the dinner platter. (The #1 for those paying attention at home) Why yes... YES... let's go that route. With extra sauce. She finished my order, took the one behind me and then started on my platter. I asked her what the purple things were as I think they were pickles, she said they were beets. ( I think... oh no... I totally forgot what she said....), Anyway... I was telling her about how another gyro place I go to, they put it ON the gyro and it was really good. She said... do you want extra of those? Why yes... YES! She warmed my pita on the grill, added it to my container with A HUGE SIDE OF SAUCE and I left with my mouth watering. Let me tell you, this platter can feed you twice. The amount of meat they give is perfect. So tender, the extra purple thing-a-ma-jigs were so tasty, the potatoes... I FORGOT THERE WERE POTATOES, seasoned and salty and carby-goodness... i need to ask for extra next time. The rice is so good, the salad..... The hummus on the side is topped with... paprika? I don't know, but my answer will always be, yes.. YES! Ok, now I am hangry again. Darn... it....

  • Neon L.

Was recommended this place by a coworker. Decided to try it out and was disgusted. All of the food was sitting in trays and had clearly been there all day. Nothing was freshly made here and it was completely overpriced. The chicken was dry, hard, and tasted like it was turning rotten. Couldn't even eat it, it was so bad. The salad didn't have dressing on it at all. We complained and weren't offered our money back, only something free on the house. Needless to say, we didn't want anything else to eat there and we won't be coming back.

Delicious Gyros packed with lots of meat. Get the Olive Tree fries, with the Feta cheese they are delicious. And they have fresh Baklava as well. Lots of seating. Tv is on. Clean Interior. Friendly staff

  • Yerang P.

Located right next to my gym, it's a constant battle to try and prevent myself from coming here after every workout. Super friendly service and delicious food. I usually get a half lamb/half chicken gyro, or the #3 mixed gyro/chicken plate. The portions are huge and everything has flavor. Chicken can be dry sometimes but all good, it's hard to keep chicken tender without drying it out and it just shows that they make it fresh. I love the olive tree fries. You must try them. Also, they have this habanero hot sauce that is incredible when mixed with the tzatziki sauce.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Kent!! I always get the #1 Gyro dinner platter, and go here several times a month! The owners are so friendly and warm and their food is the BEST! Highly recommended.

I was sooooo sad and disappointed :( My husband and I used to love to go to this place. We went here today because we haven't gone here for a while. Both of us got the Roasted Lamb dinner plate. It is $13.95 per plate. Service was terrible. We had to wait for longer than 30 minutes to get our food. When the food came, the waiter didn't even seem a tiny bit apologetic about it. He didn't even say sorry for making us wait or anything. It didn't use to be like this. I was so starving and was so excited to have food but when I took a bite it tasted bland. It used to be so flavorful. My husband agreed. I have to say that I regret not asking for a refund and just eat somewhere else. I wish I had gotten my $30. I don't know if they had a new management, or the employee helping us was new... But I was so very disappointed at this place and will not go back here again.

Very nice staff and amazing tasting Greek cuisine! I ordered the traditional gyro and my girlfriend had the chicken shawrma gyro. Our order came out quickly and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely the best choice for Mediterranean food in the area.

Really fresh gyro meat and vegetables. The pita and tatzyiki sauce it very good. Fairly priced. I recommend the lamb of course. The baklava was a little disappointing but friendly service

Located in between Kent/Covington/Lake Meridian, in the same strip mall as Trader Joes. Before I did my grocery shopping at TJ's, I decided to give these guys a try. I'm always on the lookout for good Mediterranean places. After walking in and looking at the menu, I expected it to be like Gyros House. WRONG! It was WAY BETTER!! These guys make everything fresh when you order it, even the tabbouleh salad. The Greek salad wasn't just a pile of iceburg lettuce with a couple of veggies, it was a real salad. I am still searching for more authentic Mediterranean Lebanese food nearby, but this is a great option.

  • Rebecca S.

Let's be honest... Decent Mediterranean joint. I have had better but overall this place isn't too bad. I have tried the soup, olive fries and a traditional gyro and bahklava. None really wow'd me. The soup was okay but would have liked a little more flavor. Olive fries were also okay, not anything I would go out of my way to order. The gyro was a good portion of meat. The veggies and sauce were yummy. I've had better lamb and beef so again, not the best I've had. I was expecting more I guess since I yelped this place prior to my visits. I work close by and honestly wouldn't really go get lunch here unless my co-workers all wanted to order. Customer service isn't over the top but friendly. Okay food, good service, overall a 3 star.

This is one of our local favorites.. Their food is consistently delicious. Everything we've tried here has really good flavor.. Our favorites are the roasted lamb diner, the gyros are great, the falafels are so good too.. Actually is kind of hard to pick a favorite. Their baklava is delish too.. Make sure to save room for one. Their staff is super nice too.

Very friendly owners here! A smile can go a long way in customer service and this place definitely serves up good food with smiles! Inside, is a casual feel with a few customers dining in and lots of take away orders. Menu offers a variety of sides and entrees at moderate prices. What sells here, is the customer service! Smiles, answers and promptness can make your dining experience.

had been craving Mediterranean for some time now and this place hit the spot! first of all the staff was so nice and helped recommend what to get. although, her suggestions were good I didn't have enough space in my stomach to order a plate. i went with the gyro sandwich, drink, and side salad. mm mm mm, the pita was warm, the sauce was light, the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful and the lettuce/tomatoes was the perfect amount. I left a very happy and satisfied human :)

My partner and I found this gem on urban spoon. The interior is humble but clean. The staff was genuine and knowledgeable The food was delicious. We ordered gyro plates and olive fries. I will go back for the fries alone. They were awesome. The location is super convenient for me. We will most definitely be back soon.

This place has one of the best chicken gyros I have ever had. Everything is fresh and made to order unlike most places. The owners are very friendly and the service is great! Try the olive tree fries - fries w/feta cheese on it. It's hard to stop eating the fries once you get going. If you like some spice to your food ask for some spicy sauce. It will not just come w/your order. They have 2 hot sauces - one is medium heat and the other sauce is very very hot. Go here if you need your gyro fix.

My wife and I had lunch here today. Almost didn't find the place due to remodeling, but we are very glad that we did! The manager, Zana, greeted us and was very welcoming and courteous. I ate light and got the chicken shawarma pita and it was amazing. Not to mention that it was the size of a large burrito! My wife had the #3, mixed shawarma & gyro. It was a huge meal and came with chicken, lamb, Greek salad, rice, potatoes, and hummus with pita. She normally hates lamb, but was feeling adventurous today. She absolutely loved it. I tried some too and it was delicious. Perfectly spiced, grilled, and sliced thinly. The hummus was a bit bland, but was still really good nonetheless. The prices were excellent too. $6.45 for a huge gyro is awesome! For a delicious meal in a casual atmosphere with exceptional customer service, look no further!

My wife and I got take-out from this strip-mall outfit. Walking in, it didn't look like anything special. I just walked in, paid for the food and walked out with food in the bag. We got the lamb and a greek salad. When we got home and opened it; it looked like a beautiful entree as served in a restaurant. The meat just fell off the bone. Best take out I've had in a year. The salad was super fresh, too. Will definitely return here.

I had the Sandwich Combo #2, with gyro meat. It came with the sandwich, fries and drink for $9.45. (I splurged and added the Olive Tree Fries with feta cheese an extra dollar over the #1 Combo.) The pita bread was great, very fresh. Plenty of sliced meat, lettuce, onions and tomato. The meat was seasoned correctly. VERY full sandwich, almost enough for 2 people. All in all, great sandwich. The fries were worth the extra money. Hot fries covered in seasoned feta cheese. Those got passed around quite a bit. If I am in the area I will definitely return.

I am always on the look out for a good gyro. The olive tree did not disappoint. The feta and herb mix that they put on their signature fries is a new twist for me that I liked. I would have given the place five stars had the fries been crisp. The fries were a bit soggy. The Gyro was perfect. Though it was later in the day the meat was not dry. They used generous portions as well. I will be back.

Great environment customer service is great menu is perfect plenty to choose from but not overwhelming and plenty of pictures. The prices were good especially for the amount of food. My wife had the plate I had the sandwich. My wife loved hers I thought mine was OK could of been great if the sauce was better it was watery and not that good. My wife would like to come back I might if I order something else.

We stopped by here on the way back from a race in Carnation, and had one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had in quite some time, and that's not just the hunger of running 13 miles speaking. Great food, friendly staff and quick service made it all come together. I'm going back for another run tomorrow, and I know where I'm having lunch on the way back!

  • Korrie B.

Excellent! My sister and I stopped here after a recommendation from a local. We each got a combo plate, one with lamb and the other with chicken. Lots of food, great favors. Sad that it isn't close enough to visit often!

Great food, I had a gyro and it was quite tasty! I would have rated higher but they need to upscale their decor. The food is very good, the atmosphere needs to be just as good.

Located in a small strip mall-like setting is the gem of South King County, Olive Tree. This is my go-to for gyro cravings. Nothing else compares. I've tried places in bellevue, university district, sodo, and other various places in central to south seattle but Olive tree is the golden standard that they are held to in my book. The service is decent and there's a somewhat family friendly vibe inside their shop. Once inside, you won't be over-impressed by its interior, as it looks like your usual subshop, but one glance towards your left and there it is...the most heavenly lamb/beef rack spinning in slow motion you have ever set your eyes on. I have ordered a chicken gyro from them (shawarma) but it wasn't able to leave me with the abundant happiness and elation which their classic gyro always seems to leave me feeling after the first bite. The portions are HUGE and the spicy chili sauce blends with the gyro to perfection. Stick with the red sauce, do NOT try the orange spice unless you want to murder your taste buds or you are of Laotian descent. Although I'm not adventurous enough to try the rest of their menu, it is very simple and must also taste very good, but once I find something I like, I just stick to it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the kent/des moines area looking for a local, cheap, and delicious meal.

I've tried a lot off their menu and I gotta say, its all good. If you haven't been here before, warm up with a perfectly crafted gyro sandwich. Ask for the habanero hot sauce if you're feeling ambitious. Big portions so come hungry.

The most delicious falafel & gyros! Yummy taziki, hummus & hot sauce. Really nice staff too.

Love this place! I eat here every couple weeks. Best chicken gyros around. Staff is always prompt & friendly. They have the best Tzitki sauce I have ever had & the baklava? To die for. This is simple quick great Greek food that will leave you satisfied.

  • Edmond R.

First time here after reading the positive reviews - and I agree! The wife had the gyro and shawarma plate (#3) and I had the dolmades and falafel plate (#12). Both were large portions so we could share and take some home for later. (we had to save room for the baklava) Quick service and clean, and busy - all good signs! Definitely going back to try some more.

Had no intention of eating here however when our 1st choice for lunch fell thru - quickly got on Yelp and found this place across the street. I got the lunch specials - falafel plate. It was tasty - not the best I've ever had but was good. If I was in the neighborhood again would probably stop here.

OMG the food is amaze balls! The pita and humus so fresh and fluffy. The owner said he makes it fresh everyday! Everything on their menu is like a flavor explosion in your mouth. You will love the olive tree fries ask them to drizzle some tzatatziki sauce on them!

Good food, everything is halal which is wonderful. Service is very good, but slow. They did make a mistake with our order but corrected right away. Overall good experience, would definitely come back.

  • Rock P.

Ok beside those 5 stars review around more than 1 years ago this place is not even deserve 1 star!! Me and my bf just come to order felafel with pita to go... The service was watching the soccer games and doing our food so maybe that is the reason why it taste like uncooked food!! The pita is so small to hold the center so we have to eat it with fork. Then I take a bite of the Felafel and it actually falling apart! Then I try the pita bread and it so soaking... I don't think we will come back but you should try D'Lara just open in Auburb!!! Much more better with the same price.

Incredible, reasonably priced and delicious Mediterranean fare. Service is excellent. I have been to other eateries of similar kind, but Olive Tree is my go to place for picking up lunch on the fly, or even better, enjoying it there while watching intenational football (called soccer in USA)

I love their food! Not a big staff so they will recognize you quick. I always get a large garden salad add lamb and tatziki it is so good! My boyfriend gets the lamb plater and always finishes everything. Their hummus it really yummy!

Best falafels I've tasted yet, I had my 1st in new york and It was amazing! Now coming back into town and trying different joints was a challenge! But this place hits the spot, they're full of flavor an far from dry. Love this small joint.

Always looking for new spots near my work. Drove a little extra to try this one. Wow! Seriously impressed. Super fast but with no sacrifice on quality. They make two hot sauces in house. The habenero one is probably in my top 5 of all time. Solid place will be here often now

So close to 5 stars, but not quite there. This is my new favorite non-fancy Greek restaurant. It is more toward a fast food establishment, with their wall menu, and the fact that you order at the counter, they don't have waiter service, and you get your own drinks, but their food is WAY better than fast food. I was really impressed that their rice was nice and fluffy, the flavor seemed to be a little off, but it was not too bad. They had some good hummus, and salad, and the portions were awesome! There was only one real complaint, and it was that I ordered the Shish, and I really thought that the meat was a bit too dry. I was hungry, and ate it all anyways, but it was dry. I know that some popular local Mexican restaurants will let their meat sit in a pot of broth for a little bit after it's been grilled to let the meat absorb some juice back into the meat. I really think that this method would be good for their meat. I will be back, and I'll bring the whole family. I do look forward to trying different things.

I'm Astonished The 5 star ratings must be friends of the owners? I orderred a Ceasar Salad for $8 and all it was was lettuce with waterred down dressing and the cheese sprinkled from a can. Tasteless and a rip-off. Their shish kabobs tasted like dog food. The grey sauce was horrifying. I used a restaurant.com discount and it was stiill HORRIFYING.

This place was a HUGE letdown. After a friend recommended this place, we drove down to Kent, WA expecting some great Mediterranean food...boy were we disappointed. This is a "take-out" type restaurant with not much ambiance...but that's not what we came for, we were expecting great food. After ordering the Chicken Sharwma/Gyro combo plate ($11.95) and the mixed kebob plate ($16.95), we were expecting some really good food. When the meal came...meh it was a complete letdown. The hummus seemed watered down, chicken was dry and flavorless, the rice was hard as if it had been sitting on a steam table drying out. The Gyro meat was good, but didn't wow us. This place is on par with Gyro House...or probably even one notch below. I still use the Mediterranean Kitchen in Bellevue as my measuring stick, and this place falls well short when considering price, value, and taste.

We stumbled upon the Olive Tree a week ago for dinner. It was excellent! The service was awesome! Our food was delish! We both got platters, #3 and #10. They were busy too. We were lucky to get a table! We ordered some Baklava to go. The gentleman gave us a couple bags of tea to try with the baklava. Best combo! Hot tea and dessert! Def will be going back!

4.99 stars for you Olive Tree. You've got a LEGIT shot to reach the rarefied air of the five stars, but I've got to eat here again to see how consistent the food is. The gyro I had was AMAZING. Packed with meat that was the perfect balance of salty, sweet and savory. Warm, flavorful and soft pita bread served as the ideal vessel to deliver all that goodness to my lips. This truly is one of those things you just have to try. Be sure you get the combination with the "Olive Tree" fries to go along with your gyro. The spices and feta they put on top of the crispy fries are out of this world. I'll be waiting for all your emails and messages telling me how amazing your meal was...

I always complain that is there is nothing to eat around Maple Valley and Covington, well this place has changed my mind. My wife ran through and grabbed a few Gyros and some shawarma platters and falafels. Great flavor and evert All was delicious, fresh with large portions and really fair pricing!!

We love this place. The food is delicious, servings are generous, and the price is very reasonable. My husband and I have become regulars and have tried most things on the menu, and it's all been good. We have tried many Mediterranean restaurants, but Olive Tree is our favorite.

I went here for Makeup Mediterranean! The day before I went to Olive Tree I had the worst Gyro ever... So I had to go to Olive Tree the next day to get that Bad Gryo Taste out of my mouth. I ordered the Gyro Platter without Taziki Sauce and Feta, my Husband Ordered the Lamb platter. We had a coupon for a Free Baklava. The Gyro meat was Tender and not at all over-spiced. The rice was moist and tasty, Potatoes where great. Hummus, Pita and Gyro Meat was a taste sensation. My Husbands Lamb was fall off the bone tasty and the Baklava was a nice way to finish off a Makeup Mediterranean Meal!

Last night I had the most delightful dinner and the quality of the food was only surpassed by the service provided by the owner. We were treated as guests in his home. I want others to know what a gem the Olive Tree is and go there often before ya can't get in. Kidding aside, this was the best evening in years. Bravo!!! Wishing you great success.

Love it. Generous portions of Kurdish food. Dolma and the Falafel are tasty. Not much for a dining area but the food is great. Had the Falafel plate vegan style.

Gyro Review: Hubby with his chicken and I with my lamb settled in for a delightful new experience. Ordering for take out is like ordering from Subway (in a good way) all of the add ins are presented like a sandwich shop so if you want more cucumber or less tomato they actively invite customization. Combo's come with fries and a can of soda... they were running low on soda choices... so it was diet coke or diet coke. Homemade baklava was rather soggy but dry... a strange problem... and I would give it a second chance... but given this is their first week, and that was the only nit to pick... we can't wait to go back when we have more time to see if they can reach lunch heaven next time.

I lived like one block from this place, and took for granted how delicious this food was. Moved 6 months ago and have yet to find another place I like as much. If you go, you gotta try the Gyro! The pita bread is perfectly soft, and the amount of meat in the sandwich is ridiculous! The sauce and brunch of the lettuce and tomato makes this the perfect sandwich. Only thing is next time, I will ask for it without the red onion (which is a lil overpowering to me). The fries are tasty, and could easily serve two people. Weve also tried a dinner plate that comes with gyro meat and schwarma, served atop some kind of yellow rice or orzo... Also served with roasted potatoes, and hummus, pita and salad. The hummus and pita are wonderful! Im not a big fan of the salad, though its all very fresh. When I asked if I could get something other than salad one night, they were more than happy to sub whatever I wanted; fries, orzo, or extra hummus and pita. Cant wait to get back up to kent, so I can get my gyro fix!

First off, to appreciate Olive Tree and give it a good star rating: 1. You must understand what to expect from Mediterranean/Persian food. This is not an Italian Restaurant aka Olive Garden. 2. The food must taste AWESOME. 3. Must have good value for the price you pay. 4. MUST NOT BE A FRIEND OF THE OWNER - Unbiased I checked all four. The fact that the meats are Halal is an added bonus for Muslims who dine there. Excellent flavor and portions. My favorites are the Chicken Shwarma and the roasted lamb dinner. The roasted lamb dinner is definitely a better value compared to the Afghan Cuisine's Qabulli Pallow. Olive Tree's Gyros are pretty darn good and decently priced. Comparing this place with Ishtar that's also in Kent, I like the menu selection better at Ishtar's but if you compare the prices and the serving portions, Olive Tree wins hands down.

I felt the overall flavor of the food was between a 3 or a 4, but I enjoyed eating here. I ordered the chicken kebab plate which was served with a Greek salad, potatoes, hummus, and rice. The chicken was flavorful and delicious but dry. Everything else on the plate was wonderful except for the hummus. It had somewhat of a bitter flavor to it that I'm not used to. I also tried their falafels and I give them a thumbs up. The prices are a bit expensive for a fast food type place and the service was a bit slow, but the servers were so warm and friendly. We felt really welcomed. I would definitely go back here and try other items on their menu.

I just learned about this place last week and have already been back. Their gyro is the bomb.... It rocks!!!! The amount of meat they put on it is stupid... You can barely eat the whole thing.... LOVE IT..... Check them out as it is the BEST Gyro I have ever had and probably one of the best deals in Kent/Covington area!!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!! KEEP IT UP and do not change or reduce the portions as this sets you apart from the others!!!!! I think I might head over there now and grab the combo again!!!

I've been here about 15 times over the last few years and have been meaning to leave a review. Their gyros are always made with very fresh ingredients, from the tomatoes to the meat, and I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Price is a bit higher than fast food, but I don't even think they own a microwave here - if you're interested in fresh, quality food, expect to pay a little more. Their homemade baklava is excellent, be sure to try it if you have room after their generous portions.

  • Traci N.

Hooray! They have redeemed themselves! Went last night with the hubby after dance class. I was ravenous! They had a new featured dish that was divine. It also looked to me like the portion sizes have gone back up. I had the leftovers for my lunch today and they were still yummy! They were much friendlier last night as well. It makes a big difference in the overall experience.

Incredibly.... Meh. Gyro was better than chicken. Salad greens were fresh and crisp. Service was somewhat attentive. Only came due to a restaurant.com cert. while not bad... Not worth trip out of your way.

  • Devon C.

good place. kurdish family run restaurant, so i guess it's actually kurdish food. Get the gyro meat dinner platter, it's awesome. only reason i don't give 5 stars is because they use to be decently priced but they raised their prices up a little while ago, now i'm paying around 17 bucks for the dinner platter and extra peta bread (amazing peta bread and hummus though!) Changed to 5 stars, food is to good not to.

  • Tod W.

Great Service, friendly staff. Combo plate and gyros were very good. Prices might be a bit high but the overall value is acceptable. Kind of a fast food setting. We drop in if we need a quick bit when we are in this area.

When we arrived, two groups had just came. One group was of 3 people and the other was of 15 people or so. We were told that we will have to wait and we decided to wait. I am so glad we did, as the food was awesome!! Our waitress even gave us a free Baklava on the house since we had to wait! Now, that is just brilliant customer service. Will be making this one of our regular joints.

Saw a lot of good reviews of this place. So living in the area figured I would give it a try. Came with a friend I got the Chcken Schwarma I haven't had this before I usually get the Gyro but my friend got the Gyro. Not sure if its suppose to be so dry. The chicken was really dry. Even with the tzatziki sauce I was looking for some water to help it go down. I did try my friends Gyro and it was good. They sure put a lot of the lamb in there. We also split the Olive tree fries. They were ok IMO just regular fries with (goat cheese? feta?) I think feta on top. If I have a yerning for a Gyro I might stop by again.

    (3)
  • Anna R.

Over all it was good. Don't expect "olives", on your sandwich, hence the name of the place nor cucumbers or peppers on your sandwich. But, all is fresh. No garlic or feta on your fries either, and are frozen. Plan on clearing your table as well. Adding a photo, combo 1. One with chicken one with swarm. Is good and the place is clean. Great for a sandwich shop or a quick lunch.

First time here. Came because of so many positive reviews and was not disappointed. Delicious gyros, shawarma, fresh Greek salad and baklava. Very nice service as well.

  • Juan F.

I'd give 'em five stars for the food, but the restaurant itself is always a little too cold, the chairs uncomfortable, the prices just a little on the steep side. But the food is AWESOME, the staff very helpful and generous, and...hey. It's just good stuff. Wear a sweater! ---- Re-review several months later: Just made another visit, and I'm reconsidering my vote. I'm adding a fifth star. It's still cold, but the prices are looking increasingly good, especially considering how heavily they load on the feta cheese and other goodies. These are VERY generous portions.

    (5)
  • Dana M.

Thanks to @chariya, we were able to come here and try it again! --- I forgot how huge their gyros are. They load their gyros with tons of meat and their gyro fries are delicious... we will definitely be back!

Casual strip mall joint. Gyros were great. Chicken schwarma was DRY and SALTY.

  • Carrie T.

I've walked by this place a couple times and finally decided to try it. Everything looks very fresh. I tried the combo gyro and chicken schwarma with salad and hummus. The hummus was very smooth and mild compared to others I've had but still tasty. The gyro was good. the schwarma wasn't bad. the rice was tasty too but the potatoes were so-so. Could have done without. The sauce had the right balance too. I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes.
