My family of four had a wonderful meal. For starters we had chicken pakora and vegetable samosas. The chicken was perfect - lightly coated, spiced just right. The samosas were huge and perfectly cooked - crispy and not greasy. (I'm going to use "perfect" a lot... ) Because I can never decide on one thing, I had the combo plate: chicken curry, tandoori chicken, sag paneer, dal, raita, and of course rice. Everything was delicious, but the standout for me was the sag paneer. Too often the paneer is overly firm and the sag watery and underseasoned. Not here - the paneer was creamy and the sag seasoned and spicy. My husband had the lamb vindaloo. He is a vindaloo connoisseur and is very critical... and he is still raving over how good it was. We talked with the owner after and he told us that he makes it in-house with a long list of spices and seasonings... and it shows in the depth of flavor. My kids enjoyed their choices of seekh kebab and chicken malai just as much as we enjoyed ours. Thw portions were generous - we had enough left over for a second meal later this week and are looking forward to it!

Where can I even start?! This place is perfect. Atmosphere, service, food are all amazing and the dishes they use are awesome. Put me on a dolly and roll me out of here guys, I'm so pleasantly stuffed that I don't want to stand. Food: I got the non-vegetarian combo, and MAN was that a lot of food but so good I couldn't stop eating. Got the lamb curry (asked for SPICY and was not disappointed), saag, daal, tandoori chicken, rice, garlic naan and desert of the day which was Kheer today. Everything was so good that I couldn't decide what to eat more of, so I ate it all. In the end I think the standout dish was the Daal, which is kind of like a lentil/soup bean dip with some spice to it. Amazing with the naan. I'm from San Diego and WISHING that this restaurant was near me. Heck, I'd visit just to eat here! Don't pass this gem up!

Great Indian food right near the Kent Safeway! I had the chicken korma and it was some of the best korma I've ever tasted. The Na'an was amazing too! The only down side is the food tends to be a little spendy (not the worst though). I spent over $40 for two people. Great place! We will ear there again!

This is my second favorite Indian Food place in Western Washington. I am always excited when we eat here--the food is always perfectly cooked and the staff is super nice. The mushroom bhaji and the mushroom masala are things I dream about. The butter chicken will make you think you've died and gone to heaven, and you haven't lived if you've never had their chicken malai. Everything on the menu is worth trying at least once! The only thing I don't like about the restaurant is there are always Indian music videos playing, usually too loudly.

Butter chicken is one of the best I've had in Seattle. That means a lot as I use Cabi places in Queen's NY as a reference point. The goat curry was great too. Lamb curry was too sour however.

My boyfriend was excited to show me this place. I've been craving Indian food lately, and I seldom get the chance to eat it so I was very excited! It was nestled in within safeways parking lot and gas station, and if I wasn't looking for it, I would have probably overlooked it easily. We stepped inside and we were greeted right away. The servers were very nice; one woman was very friendly and helpful, and the other woman was calm, quiet, and worked diligently; our water cups were never empty. My boyfriend got the lamb vindaloo and I got the mushroom lamb. We waited an average time and the food finally came out and wow! I was SO happy with my order. My sauce was spicy and sweeter compared to the vindaloo. It was very creamy (the woman made sure there was no coconut milk for me (im allergic)). The lamb was soft and well cooked. The garlic naan is very addicting. The garlic was not overwhelming. The middle was soft and the outsides were crispy. So perfect with the mushroom lamb sauce. On their spice scale, I ordered "spicy". I expected it to be hotter, but I was happy with the heat. It wasn't empty white heat (which I find annoying).. It was intentional heat with lots of flavor. Gave your tummy warmth but didn't make you cry. I was very happy! The mushroom lamb and the naan was perfect. We got our free dessert; rice pudding. I couldn't eat it because it had coconut and nuts but my boyfriend says it's good. It had heavy ingredients but it was in a light milk. I want to come back and try the mango shrimp! Definitely try this place out if you're craving Indian food. Support ya local businesses!

Went here only one time for lunch with my mom and it was great! The food was very good and seemed really authentic to me. The plates looked like they came from India, the TV was playing a Bollywood channel, so the atmosphere was really nice. The service was really good too, the waitress was really nice and always asked if we needed anything. Definitely gonna come here again!

The butter chicken is my favorite dish from here and it is absolutely delicious!!! I always get it to go with garlic naan. Also, the service is great. They're always super friendly.

This restaurant came up when I did a Google search for best Indian food close to my location. We went there for lunch hoping to try their buffet. We got there past noon and the place was empty. I didn't see the buffet table and we were told they don't do buffet anymore. The gentleman said he'll give us free rice and naan. Since we were already there I decided we might as well. They have a wide selection but I noticed that they are pricey. We ordered chicken paneer and paneer korma and garlic naan. They must make everything fresh because it took a while for them to serve our food. The garlic naan was excellent. It was average size which I think is good because it seems like the bigger ones tend to be on the bland side. The chicken paneer and paneer korma were just average. Our total bill was $30 for 2 small dishes! And we did get charged for the naan. I don't know if it's because it wasn't plain naan. We didn't order drinks. Oh well, on to our search for the best Indian restaurant in King County.

Yes! I love finding good places to eat! My goodness.. why haven't I ran into this place.. Funny story how we found this place. (Skip below for review) My significant other and I have been craving Indian food for awhile (because of The Lotus Grill in Southcenter mall), and never looked in Kent before... so we did the only thing and yelped, "indian food." We were confused as to why there has been a near 5 star Indian restaurant near us! So we quickly ran (drove) there! Review: This place is awesome! Lets start off with customer service. The gentlemen that help us there was very helpful! (I think he was the manager), but he helped us choose what to eat!! The best part? They have a side for all vegetarian! Woo! When we choose our food, he stopped us and explain that the food we were about to order were almost identical (besides one having cheese), so we corrected it and we were grateful. We ordered the Mutter Paneer and Saag Agloo, with some GARLIC NAAN!!! Food: The food was phenomenal! You can totally tell that their ingredients were fresh! I've been to many Indian restaurants and this was the first to strike my tongue as if I was eating at a fancy restaurant. The taste of the food was balanced and yet very flavorful on its own unique way. We really loved the food. The garlic naan was also fantastic! Best one yet. The only thing I could think as a limitation to this place is their atmosphere. This place definitely deserves a better looking building or place. I loved everything except for the fact that it was a little too dark. They also close early, but that doesn't effect this review at all... I definitely recommend this place to anyone craving Indian food in Kent! Overall in love with this place!

The wait time is too long even if we are the only ones ; not authentic indian, but comes very close .. Service is kinda lethargic

The atmosphere, smells, feel, everything is typical Indian Resturant. Let me say when I say typical I mean perfect. This is my new favorite. I travel a lot and have the wonderful opportunity to sample different cuisines from many different places. These guys nailed it. And the Resturant is clean. It feels like home. If you miss this place you have missed a very good Indian Resturant.

Delicious! My husband didn't like Indian food but after eating here he begged me to promise we'd come back again!! The lamb is cooked perfectly tender and juicy , rice is perfect. The right amount of spice, not over powering. Love it! The variety of dishes to choose from is amazing! Love it!

Love, love, love Indian food and this place did not disappoint! I agree with a previous review that much of the menu is pricier by a couple dollars compared to many other Indian restaurants but I would still eat here again. You know you've had good food at a restaurant when you're wanting to go back the very next day! I'm salivating just thinking about the delicious chicken vindaloo, buttered chicken, spinach naan and my new favorite bread: the "sweet naan" that's stuffed with almond powder, raisins, nuts, and sugar. See, now you're salivating too.

You found it. Yes you found the best Indian food in the area. It's not under discussion. Just smack your hand away from searching any others nearby. This is the real thing. It's everything you've been needing on your Indian smorgasbord. So this is the only time I'll tell you to just hit the directions button on yelp app to drive you here, and then close your Yelp app. Done. This place is amazing. They have a vast menu. Craving good ol chicken curry? Tikka chicken (butter chicken)? Daal? Korma? Kheer? Or of course tandoori? All of it. Hands down FAB. It goes down like this. I call, order, go pick it up. I walk out with three bags usually of random all equally mind blowingly freakin amazing items. I usually forget by the time I got home what we ordered. I always order extra rice and naan tho. I believe one order of naan has two big pieces in it. We order Three of them. Use them to sop up all those creamy sauces. Or make mini Indian burritos. If you order say 3 main courses for 3 people, it's usually enough for lunch the next day too. If you get extra rice. I just love rice. If I were on Survivor, I would win all the challenges because of the rice intake. Did I say I love rice. I love rice. The place itself is in a small strip mall next to Safeway. It's smaller inside, but looks comfy and it's darker in lighting, which is cozy to me. I never stay, I always get to go, but I would have no problem staying. BTW, they make everything to order. Even the tandoori chicken in the oven. It's FRESH. It baffles my brain cuz the sauces/curries I would think would need to simmer for hours for the flavors that come from them. Just wow. Oh one more thing, the service I get from the people who run a business is a big part of my star rating. In this case, the service alone is worth 5 stars. The ladies are so sweet and so lovely. They put a smile on my face every time I go. Nice people are the BEST!!! :D

My sister and I came here the other night for dinner. The usual "what do you want to eat?" "I don't know, what do you want to eat?" conversation started, but I broke it up with taking a shower. When I was done, my (genius) sister asked about Manraj. I was pleasantly surprised-- I know she'd never really been an adventurous eater AT ALL. I took her up on her offer to try something new and I am so glad she suggested it-- now I have a new favorite place for takeout that's minutes from home. I ordered the chicken malai and cheese naan, and my sister ordered the pineapple chicken and garlic naan. We both got medium spice, and we both learned that Indian medium is not Thai food medium. Yow! The owner went WAYYY above and beyond to help us out. My sister was sweating from all of the spice, so she brought out some chutney, extra rice, more water, and some raita to help cool her down. (Mine wasn't as hot because of the coconut milk in the recipe.) Excellent service, excellent food, and great hours. I will be back!!

Best Indian food in the area. We often drive up from North Auburn to get lunch here. They are always very friendly and their food is very flavorful. Some of our favorites are Bengan Bhata (eggplant), Mushroom masala, Paneer korma, Butter chicken, garlic naan...Their online menu is pretty helpful with pictures, although if you take one of their printed to go menus it has many more items on it.

INTERIORS: Their interiors are modest. Nothing to fancy inside except for the metal plates and tumblers that look pretty good. SERVICE: The staff was very friendly and served with nice smiles. Their menu was pretty vast offering quite a few choices. The staff would offer their suggestions when asked for and they would patiently answer all questions about the order. FOOD AND PRICES: This restaurant is pricier than other restauarants I have been to. Pricier by 2 or 3 dollars per dish. The quantity and taste are good though. However the dishes don't exactly represent their names. We ordered rogan josh and what was served was a red curry chicken dish than a dark brown curry and the taste was good but not rogan josh. The madras chicken which should have been closer to chettinad chicken was not green in color but rather another red curry dish. We wouldn't have been able to make one from the other if the server didn't tell us. Considering that these two dishes come from opposite parts of India, rogan josh from North and madras chicken from south, it was surprising that they tasted too similar. The shrimp biryani was pretty good. We redeemed yelp check in offer and the gulab jamun served for dessert was yummy. OVERALL: They serve some pricey food that tastes good but the dishes aren't authentic. You should go here if you just want some tasty Indian food but it doesn't matter if it is pretty authentic or not. The food is delicious though.

I found this place via yelp. It is a small restaurant in the Safeway shopping plaza. The best Indian food. I ordered the Tandoor chicken. I will definitely be coming back

I was craving Indian food, & let me get this out of the way... I never really liked Indian food only because I didn't know what was good. I thought it was all the same. Now I know my favorites!! Service: Was great. I believe he is the owner, but he was really attentive and actually helped us make our orders, and they all turned out delicious!!! Oh my goodness. I only knew one dish and it was Bc I work at the mall and I always order paneer masala, but he was great help! What I ordered: Mutter Paneer Spicy / So good!!! Omg the taste is exactly what I expected. But better than any mutter paneer I've ever had.. Sorry Southcenter I've found a new fave! The flavors all blend together so nicely, and adding the spiciness gave it a wonderful kick. I'm in love with this dish. And the free rice and my side of garlic naan was perfect! The naan was perfectly made. What my significant ordered: Saag Agloo Mild Spice/ Very good, it's not bitter as the one I've tried before in federal way, the flavors are just unexplainable.. I just know that I'm picky & and I love this dish with the garlic naan. Perfecto!! Is this place worth recommending? Heck YAS! If you want to try Indian food for the first time, I definitely recommend this place, because they make it how you want it. And they are great at advising which is popular. Honestly I never knew this place was here... I'm glad I was craving some indian food today. Such a great find. (:

Our new favorite Indian Food place! Our first experience here was amazing!. The restaurant is small but very comfortable and clean. The staff is AMAZING! Our hostess was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. She asked us a few questions about our likes and made some great suggestions. I ordered the Butter Chicken (Makhani) because it is my "baseline dish". It was very flavorful with a rich sauce. The chicken was great quality, well cooked and very tender. My wife stepped out of her comfort zone and tried the Chicken Hyderabadi per the Hostesses recommendation. It was an amazing dish as well. The Naan (we tried the garlic) was the best that we've had anywhere and is highly recommended! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we're already looking forward to our next visit. I'm sure they'll be seeing us regularly. :)

The woman who runs this place is extremely sweet :) and she will remember you when you come back, which you probably will after eating here. The pineapple chicken curry is the last thing I want to eat before I die. Enough said.

We went here for lunch after reading review on yelp. Let me tell you those reviews were right on the money!! This place has THE best Indian food in Kent. We had the garlic Nan, chicken Pechora, Lamb vindaloo & butter chicken. They also brought us rice It was wonderful !!! I do have to agree with others when they say medium be prepared because it will get you lol

  • Brittney K.

we ordered chicken malai at 1 star spice. more like a 4 star with about 4 pieces of HARD chunks of chicken and barely any rice? my tikka masala had the same problem! it was almost too spicy to enjoy any flavor with minimal chicken and way too much sauce. not to mention my bread was burnt on the bottom. Won't be returning.

Excellent Indian cuisine! My girlfriend and I found this place (here on Yelp) in a desperate chance to have Indian before the night was over. While we arrived so late we ordered our food to go, we still had a great experience. The food was absolutely amazing, the aloo mutter paneer paired with some garlic naan was quite the treat! There is no doubt we will be going back to this restaurant in the future.

The BEST Indian food I have ever had!!! My husband and I go there all the time, and the owner knows our order. It's a pretty pricey dinner since the naan bread is a side order but it's worth it!!! The chicken tikka masala is absolutely amazing, especially paired with the garlic naan The ladies working there are so kind. Once you have a conversation with anyone there, you will be back. Definitely great customer service! I would give this restaurant 10 stars if it were possible! This is a must to try!

This is our current favorite spot to eat Indian food. While the decor lacks a little... And maybe the plates they serve the food are not as fancy as other places. The freshness and taste of the food make up for that. The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are filling. We had the Lamb Curry and Onion Kulcha. It tasted like little bits of yummy melt in your mouth Lamb Pot Roast. The onions in the Kulcha were sweet and the Kulcha was not burnt at all, a problem at most Indian Restaurants. I am a Rice Snob. And the Basamti was light and flavorful. We also got some Plain Naan bread in which to sop up the Yummy Curry. My husband grabbed a to-go menu for me to circle all the great things we want to try.

I could eat here every day. The food is amazing and the owners know their customers and are always encouraging people to try new things. So awesome to have a place that wants their customers to experience new things and not just make a few bucks off them. My wife and I are loyal customers

Good food. Good service. Good value. Unassuming strip mall location does not do this restaurant justice. Very helpful staff and delicious food. One bit of advice regarding spice levels. They do not dumb down the spice levels to North American standards. The vindaloo at a medium spice level was just enough to break a light sweat. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great Indian food in a casual setting.

  • Linda H.

I enjoyed everything. From the chai to the kulfi. Naan was delish. It was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Vegetables were tender and not over cooked. Tikka masala was creamy the way I like it. Service was excellent. We will definitely come back again.

YES YES & YESSSS After being disappointed at an Indian Restaurant in Seattle, this restaurant turned my frown upside down! The service was AWESOME and I ordered the Chicken Korma w/Garlic Nan and IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend this restaurant for really good Indian Food!!!

  • Mallory M.

Been coming here for 7 months now! We absolutely love this restaurant. I have recommended it to several friends & family! The food is always perfect. We like to try different things each time we go but the Chicken Korma is by far the best item on the menu. I live in Covington so it's about a 5 minute drive which is why I frequent here often. Usually you'll have to drive to Seattle to get good indian food but this is right near my house and it's great! Be aware of the spice level it can be too spicy or not spicy enough you just have to tell them how you like it. To me the perfect spice level is mild-medium. Please try this place you wont regret it

  • Daniel W.

Consistently excellent. We still eat here about once a month, sometimes takeout sometimes eat in. The quality and service are 5 star every time. I often get the lamb vindaloo, very spicy, but I also know I can ask for a recommendation and it will also be great. Best restaurant in Kent.

Delicious! Friendly wait staff, wonderful aromas and a rich menu of options. A kids menu would be a nice touch as the portion sizes and menu options were a little ambitious for kids, but wonderful food and service. Will be back.

Good food. Friendly service. The food is pretty dang solid!!!!!! The restaurant atmosphere is kind of uninviting ...but makes sense given that it's a mom-and-pop place.

Alright, I came here for a 2nd time and again the food was great. I was served by the same waitress that served me the previous time. Service again was poor. Seems like she wish there were no customers at all. Probably she just hates her job; anyhow just provided an unwelcoming impression. Just wish they have better service here. The food is great, so just come here for the food not for the service. Or better option just order to go. My three stars is due to poor customer service and not the food.

  • Nancy C.

Came here with a group of people to have the lunch buffet........waited several minutes to even be acknowledged. Didn't see the buffet so inquired and were rudely told "it didn't make any money, we don't have it anymore". When asked about lunch specials were told there were none and to order off the dinner menu. To top it off the place was FILTHY (maybe they've cleaned since I've been since other reviews say it was clean). Maybe the food is great but I'll never be back nor will my friends - we all walked out due to the high prices, rude service and filth.

  • Kristina M.

Mmmm so good. I've only ordered chicken tikka masala, but it was on point each time and always fulfilled my cravings. I actually love that their spicy levels are truly spicy. At other restaurants, I usually order a 4 or 5 star and barely taste it. Over here, however, I'll get a medium or whatever they call it, and it will actually be spicy!! The only thing I hate is how pricey they are. My masala and one order of garlic naan was about $18. I would definitely come here more often and try other things out if the prices were lower.

    (5)
  • K R.

Yes, the food is good but I do agree with others that it is over priced and the portions are not very big for the price.

  • Andy Z.

dinner food: mango chicken. just the right texture on the base. not too runny or too thick. perfect to go with their basmati rice. every couple of bites you will get a chunk of mango that is sweet, tart, and savory at the same time. ***5/5 service: i think the owner was serving us. she was very nice and took care of the table. there was only one other table while we dined. we didnt even have to ask for water, it just came. it was easy to get refills on the rice. ***5/5 ambiance: nice mom and pop shop. it was a bit dim, but nothing like fancy restaurants. it was dark out already. they have some bollywood movie running on the side, which gets interesting sometimes. everything is clean and where it needs to be. ***4/5 value: its not too bad. a bit more pricey than some places. but i enjoyed my meal and left satisfied where it counts. ***4/5

Just a warning, their level of mild, spicy, hot is on point! Delish! My Wife and I stopped here en route to home. As it turned out, it was slightly off course than we expected, but we are so thrilled we went out of our way. This place is within the Safeway shopping center and it quite the hidden gem! To share, we ordered the chicken curry, butter chicken, palak paneer, rice and a side of regular naan. The chicken curry was made spicy while the butter chicken was mild. The heat of the spices are on point. The meat tender as expected and the butter chicken immersed in creamy goodness. No matter where we go, we always order palak paneer. Their version of the dish here taste incredibly fresh. You really can't go wrong with fresh right? The naan was always served fresh out of the oven, too. To top our dinner, we also shared these little donut holes drenched in rose water. Forgive me for not remembering the name, but also delicious! Dangerous I wanted to devour a dozen. Ha!

Being new to Kent, I turned to Yelp to find some Indian food and Manraj had some pretty decent reviews. I called my standard order of chicken tikka masala and plain naan and drove in to pick it up. It smelled great on the ride home but things went a little downhill when dinner was served. The sauce was good, decent flavor and not oily or too spicy. The chicken seemed a bit overcooked and was kind of rubbery. The rice was bland with no spices and the naan was a little undercooked. It was more like a microwaved pita than naan. After what I read here from others I was pretty disappointed but I'll give then one more chance and hop I just caught them on an off night. They're convenient and their prices are good so I would really like them to be excellent. We shall see. To be continued...

This is my favorite a Indian place. Everything I have ever had here is wonderful. I really like the lamb saag and the shrimp korma. The naan is really yummy. I love their garlic naan! The owner is very nice and always makes me feel welcome like an old family friend. It is a small family style place with small tables, Bollywood music videos playing in the background, and great food. Highly recommend!!!!

The owner is a lovely, cheerful, motherly woman. I like how they keep the spice level on point. We had the paneer tikka masala and fish curry. The fish was all right; it's not something that is normally offered or highlighted at Indian restaurants, which is why we decided to try it, but the fish was not as tender as I would've liked. The paneer tikka masala was so delicious. I don't even want to know what goes into the gravy because it is so creamy and sumptuous. We had to order extra rice so we can spoon the leftover gravy on top. Mmm. It was very entertaining to have a TV there that was constantly playing Indian music videos. So fascinating.

Amazing and authentic Indian food right here! You will not be disappointed with the service or the food here. We ordered the naan basket which is a trio of naan. We had the garlic, chicken and cheese naan & all were incredible! For appetizers we ordered the samosas for the table and everyone agreed on how fantastic they were. After 3 orders of mint sauce we also unanimously agreed on how fantastic the sauce was. Chicken tikka is a def must try as well. Service with a smile goes a long way and makes the experience even more wonderful....I wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Excellent Indian food and very friendly service. The lamb saag was delicious and I highly recommend it! A plentiful portion of meat was complemented well with the saag which was the perfect amount of spice at one star. We also had a soup and Naan, and that was enough food for two. However, they did not honor the yelp deal for a free dessert because they gave us the Naan for free as part of lunch. Unprofessional in my opinion but the food and the rest of the service still justifies the five star review.

Girl friend loves Indian food and we're both very hungry. Not pleased with the last two Indian places we ate we decided on this place. It's a small unassuming building next to a safeway, I had never even seen it before but have driven by almost weekly. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu is large with a nice selection. I got the mango chicken and my girl friend got the curry chicken. I really liked the mango chicken. I had never had it before but am very glad I got it. Sweet fruity and spicy sauce over chickin and rice. My girlfriend really liked her chicken curry which is never hot enough for her, not an issue here. The Naan is also nothing short of amazing either. A ten dollar bread bowl is a must. Only complaints would be a small sticky spot here and there. This is definitely our new favorite Indian place.

I have nothing to complain about but Indian restaurants, all have the same menu and taste the same. Would love to find an Indian restaurant that is unique, if you like Indian cuisine this one will do... Staff is friendly and food is tasty ...

The place knows good customer service! The lady whom I assume is the owner is very attentive, generous with the naan bread and above all else, talkative and funny (maybe just me but every other Indian place has such shy wait staff!). Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, we typically are level-5 spice types but here we get level-4 and it's perfect. Have been a few times now and it's great every time.

My sis and I went here for lunch we were craving for some indian food and thought this place would be cool to check out since its right by our house and the reviews are good. We usually go to Naan-N-Curry in Renton but I was starving already and couldn't wait to eat =D We ordered chicken tikka massala (my fav indian dish) with garlic naan bread. The food didn't take that long whew which I appreciate since I was starving. However, the chicken tikka massala was a big disappointment for me. I thought it would be as good/hoping it to be better than the one in Renton but no =( it was just "ok". The dish had no sweetness to it and it was less creamy. I felt like they forgot to add something. The spice level was just right. I was just really disappointed because this could've been my new spot to go to for chic tikka massala considering the distance to my house. On the bright side, the garlic naan bread was DELICIOUS! it was the best garlic naan bread I've had! Till now I'm still thinking about that bread hmm.. Overall, customer service was excellent, our server was very attentive and friendly all throughout. Garlic naan bread was definitely delicious. However, I wouldn't go back here again for the chicken tikka massala. The one in renton is by far still the best. Guess I would still have to drive far to get that!

Unexpected bursts of flavors from an unexpected little joint in a strip mall. We really enjoyed our meal here. The owner was extremely friendly and happy to provide suggestions. The mango chicken was truly delightful. It's not something I would usually order, but I'm glad the owner talked us into getting it. Chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and biryani were great as well. I inquired about goat biryani, not on the menu, but they apparently have it. Their home made pistachio ice cream was good as well, but a bit too rich for me. One thing that bugs me was a few flies (or other insect) that flew inside the restaurant. They didn't come to our table, bu the sight of them bothered me a teeny bit.

A group of my friends took me here. I've never had authentic Indian food, but it was pretty darn good. My only complaint might be that the rice was pretty bland, almost like minute rice, same texture too. But the chicken curry was fantastic. I like that you can choose how spicy you want it as well. The Naan was great, the cheese and the garlic Naan were the best. The cook was wonderful, she came out to talk with us as we were taking a little longer to decide, some of the group like myself having not been there before, we had a lot of questions. She answered all our questions and in the end we had a great meal. Will be returning to try more great new things!!

We went here on the night of the Seahawks game and we had the entire place for ourselves. The server was very nice, accommodating and helpful with the advice she gave. I ordered the chicken tikka. Nicely spiced but the meat wAs a little bit dry. My friends ordered lamb masala, garlic chicken and lamb jalfrezi. The sauce for those dishes had the proper consistency and not too oily. I like the rice too since it was just plain and not covered with butter like other places. The appetizer platter was good too, but i'm not a big fan of fried food. Got a free rice pudding thanks to Yelp. Our server was so nice that she provided our entire table with rice pudding. Love the spices they put to flavor the pudding, and it was not too sweet. Will definitely go back and try and lamb dish!

If all I were rating were the food, it would be 6 stars. Fantastic, authentic and packed with flavor. I can't say enough. I had the combination dinner with the lamb curry (earthy and powerful), paneer korma (velvety smooth and sublime) and traditional chicken tikka (smoky and moist). My husband had the chicken madras (new and awesome!) and the mango chicken. Both were fantastic. The madras was a whole new experience and blew my mind. Quite spicy, but that's how it's supposed to be. A note on the service: food was slow in coming but good food takes time. It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant run by a local family. The interior was charming and inviting, the people even more so. The only draw back was the child of the owner that was running around and screaming. If not for that, it would have been perfect. We'll certainly order from here again, I think we'll just do take out instead :-)

Was craving Indian food and didn't want to drive to Spice King in Renton, so decided to give this place a try. We ordered Chicken Vindaloo (spicy), Chicken Tikka Masala (medium), naan and mango lassi. Mango lassi was delicious, so flavorful! Naan came out piping hot, also yummy! Unfortunately the chicken for both dishes were overcooked and slightly tough and neither dish was spicy. Also, the Tikka Masala was super salty and the vindaloo had a strange sour after taste. Service was friendly, there were 5 other tables and she did check on us a few times. Prices were comparable to other Indian restaurants, as were the portions. Was really hoping for better food since the restaurant is closeby and had such high ratings. Food (ok), service (good), definitely recommend the mango lassi!

My wife and I ate here because it had good reviews on yelp. The food and service was great! We already really like butter chicken but this place had the best we have ever had. We will definitely eat here again even though it takes 40 minutes to get there from our house.

  • Lauren L.

The food here is okay. Their basmati rice is plain. No effort to make it flavorful with spices. Their lunch combo vegetarian is pricey for small pockets of veggies. Their ad says it comes with dessert. Ha. Cheap! Just one gulab. Just one. Service by the owner was rude. She was abrupt and acted like she would rather be somewhere else.

This was my most pleasant dining experience in a long time! We ordered 4 dishes and each one was delicious and fresh cooked. Lamb malai was my favorite! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming which made it seem like we were at a family dinner and not at a restaurant. Will definitely come back to try other menu items!

OMG. first, the owners are delightful. Then, you try the homemade, hot pakoras. So fresh, you can taste the cauliflower and individual veggies inside. I can't stop, especially when dipped in the tamarind and mint chutney sauces. The flavors explode in your mouth...I may need a moment..... On to the main dishes: chicken malai and lamb with apricot and fennel. The chicken malai is AMAZING. We almost just ate the naan dipped in the sauce for dinner. :-) the chicken was moist and tender, and had absorbed the coconut milk. The lamb was delicious and flavorful with a sauce full of apricots and shredded deep fried potatoes. We almost ate it all, which is saying a LOT, as we NEVER clear our plates!

On our drive from the north to PDX we stopped by this Indian restaurant which is in a shopping stripe mall looks pretty mediocre from outside but once the food arrives with the first bite you know this is not mediocre place, we had ordered veg food dal makhani, okra , paneer was excellent. The paneer was very fresh and soft , and we had asked some dishes to be spicy they were just right. I wish this place was close by wud definitely be a regular

I've only had Indian food once before and for some reason I was craving it. Decided to give this place a try due to the good reviews & ratings on Yelp. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which seemed to be a customer favorite & also ordered Garlic Naan. My take out order was quick. I was a little disappointed with what I ordered. It wasn't what I thought it would taste like. The Garlic Naan I liked and dipped in the sauce. The rest of the meal I gave to my friend. Might come again if I'm in the mood for Indian food but just won't be ordering that again.

Very satisfied with this place. I had an Indian food craving tonight and decided to test my luck with Indian food in Kent since Seattle and Renton were nowhere close. I definitely have to say that I wasn't disappointed and totally agree with the other reviewers- who by far rated this place as superior. I got takeout Navtaran Korma, a good vegetarian dish and a good dish to kick a vegetable craving as well. I can definitely tell that it was made fresh! It had cauliflower (yum!), yellow squash, zucchini, peas (cooked to perfection), and carrots (looked like they were cut to order). I was surprised to see that it also had cashew halves and raisins, giving it a nice crunch and slightly sweet taste. The cashew based curry sauce was good to begin with, but that kicked it up a notch. The naan was also good. It was a lot more food than I could eat, so it was a decent deal. The decor is a bit sparse, but don't let that deter you! Only place that compares that I've eaten at is Cedars in the U District, so I'm very happy with a close (and tasty) Indian restaurant in Kent. It's a gem!

Wow! We've been coming here since they opened and we'll continue to support them! This is one of the best Indian restaurants that I've been to and very reasonably priced. The Chicken Malai?? The best thing on the menu. The owner if very friendly (feel like an old friend every time we walk in the door), and the food is out of this world. We have NEVER had a bad experience here!

  • Christine J.

great Indian food. garlic naan is addicting. the service was good too. we were greeted by a sweet lady who promptly sat us and filled our cute little water cups. my fiancé who can handle spice ordered a dish at one of the higher levels. the lady warned him that it would be pretty spicy just to make sure he still wanted to go through with it. he did and the spice was on point, exactly how he liked it. overall, service was amazing, especially for it being at the end of the night-an hour before closing. and the food was delish.

Sat down at 8:30. Didn't get menus until 8:40. Water wasn't poured until 8:45 and just had our order taken at 8:58. It's not that busy in here and don't see why it would take that long. The women at the counter just snapped at someone saying yes yes it's coconut that's the name of it. Hopefully the food is better then the service. 9:36 and food is just coming out.

I was misled. My boyfriend and I came here wanting to eat at the lunch buffet and the lady at the front told us that they no longer do the lunch buffet due to lack of business during these hours. On the upside, their food is really good! Don't let my star rating fool you. Their dishes were decent. We had the chicken korma and chicken tikka masala and both were fantastic. And the rice and naan is all you can eat as long as you ask! It was a bit pricey though. Again...maybe it's because we ended up paying about the same amount we expected to pay for a buffet price, but the food really was delicious! My rating is solely based on just how disappointed I was that I didn't get to try a little of everything that I had wanted to. Hopefully, they'll bring the buffet back someday!

I have been coming here religiously for the last few months. I have tried other restaurants all over the area, none can even or ever come close. The food is always perfect! If you are in a hurry go to mcdonalds:) it is worth the wait, they are getting busier and busier because the word is out! Manraj Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best Indian food I have ever ate. I was impressed with the foods freshness and cook to order. Not greasy at all like some Indian food I have eaten before. Also the owner is a delight to talk to, she is so very nice. Go, eat, you will not be disappointed!

Karissa: I was headed home from college and decided I wanted to try some where new. I landed on this restaurant and saw their amazing reviews. Even with the great reviews I hesitated because my family's favorite Indian restaurant is Naan-N-Curry, so we eat there anytime we crave curry. Thank goodness I didn't let that stop me because Manraj Palace is now our favorite! Not only is the food top notch, authentic and freshly made, the variety they offer is insane. Just for their Naan bread there is about ten different kinds, which we planning on trying them all. I got the regular and garlic Naan, both yummy. Butter chicken is both my husband and my favorite dish. The flavor is incredible in their butter chicken, its got the cream you would expect but some how they pack the flavor in there unlike any other restaurant. The Butter chicken at naan-n-curry is sweeter though. Besides the delicious food, something has to be said about the customer service there. I was floored at the genuine friendliness and extremely detailed knowledge about everything on their menu. The woman there can answer any question you have about the food as well as recommend something you'll love if you give her an idea of what you like. My husband loved the lunch I brought home for him and also wants to keep going back to that place. Try this place out:)

The service was great, but quite frankly, the food was not. As a south asian myself I know what I am looking for in Indian food. Though the menu was inviting, I was not impressed by the final product. My family was more disgusted with it than even I was. My father found it inedible.

Best Indian food I have ever had. I have been to several places in Bellevue and Redmond, and this beats all of them. They no longer have the buffet, so we over ordered to sample a lot and I am glad we did: yummy leftovers! Not the fanciest decor, but love the food. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. The peas in the mutter paneer pop in your mouth. The Chicken Tikka Masala is expertly spiced. The naan and samosas are drool worthy. Seriously, you've got to try this place.

  • Sean R.

Nice casual strip mall joint that's only been open for a few months now, serving freshly made Indian food. On this visit, I sampled some of the crackers and 3 sauces as received by another reviewer. Not bad, but personally wasn't my favorite thing but it tided me over while waiting for my order. They had India's version of MTV playing on two screens to watch which is cool. The chicken Makhani was a bit spicy for two stars. It was freshly prepared and vibrant tasting over the steamy basmati rice. I just wished the rice would be served in a bowl and perhaps with a lid so that it doesn't dry out on that small side plate. Would probably be less messy too. The garlic naan bread was excellent! Covered in garlic, nice and puffy. I'm also so glad I striked up a conversation with the friendly owner as she passionately explained that everything is cooked to order and within strict code of select meats for each dish (chicken breast vs. thigh meat). She had explained that the makhani was strictly breast meat and the tandoori was thigh meat which would be a bit more tender and flavorful for my next visit. She encouraged me to come back and try their 7 day lunch buffet that's only available from 11-3pm. She also gave me samples of some of their homemade kheer rice pudding. Very sweet family ran business, I hope to return soon.

We're not regular Indian food diners but saw the reviews on Yelp and figured we'd give it a try. The restaurant is very comfortable and not fancy - which was perfect for a weekday dinner out. The food was great! I normally can handle spicy food but played it safe and ordered the Medium spice level - which was perfect. My husband on the other hand, was sweating it up. The lady was super nice, personable and made us feel welcome. We'll definitely come again! P.S. The chicken tikka masala is amazing.

The food was way spicy I could harldy taste the real flavours of curry's. We ordered Chole which had mirch powder smell to it. The galic nan's were good. The aloo vendala was also spicy for a rating of 3.In short the food here is OK DOKIE..I would not suggest my friends.

Om, Nom (naan), Nom (naan)! Hubby and I have eaten lots of Indian food so we know what we are talking about. The owner is as sweet as can be and super attentive. All of the food we had was just delicious-I especially enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Malawi. The both came with lots of tasty sauce, the better for Naan-dipping! Oh and the Naan-out of this world good and I wish we'd ordered more to take home with us. Two things to know: Lunch Buffet is no longer an option. It was not financially feasible to continue it. Disappointing, but you should still patronize them for dinner! The other thing to know is that this is not fast food. They cook everything fresh and with lots of love, which takes time. Your patience will be rewarded. I wish they weren't clear down in Covington (we live in Everett) but since we have family down here, we'll definitely be in again!

I was looking for vegetarian meal with a bit of flavor. Manraj Palace really hit the spot. The vegetable Jalfrazee was definitely made freshly for me. The daal was excellent and the paneer dish was incredibly yummy. I will definitely return.

I had the Palak Paneer. She asked me if I wanted spicy, yes! Prefect spice, excellent flavor. I also got naan and chai to go with my meal. The naan was crispy and flavorful and the chai was not too sweet. I received my free dessert for checking in, rice pudding. Cool, refreshing, and many delicious textures. The service was excellent, restaurant clean and of course Indian TV playing in the background was the cherry on top. I will be coming back.

I had driven by this restaurant many times and after seeing the reviews here, decided to stop in for dinner. The Chicken Tika Masala is to die for! It was perfectly seasoned and so creamy. The chicken was so tender. We had a spinach & cheese Naan along with it, based on the owners recommendation. It was also excellent. This is a small family owned business. Customer service was excellent. Definitely one of my new favorites!

We love this place and every dish we have tried. Ranjeet always makes us feel welcome. The rice and naan are made perfect and a guilty pleasure for this mostly grain free family. Favorite dish is the Chicken Hyderabadi. Incredible and we can't get enough!

My fav Indian restaurant! Good food! The chicken tikka masala, mushroom masala and mango chicken are great! And I loooove the kheer! Big portion too! Great service! I love the waitress/owner. She's so sweet and helpful! I just wish they still had a buffet.

Absolutely my all-time favorite restaurant. Everything from the service to the food makes this place stand out. I'm moving out of town soon and will surely miss this wonderful family and their food more than anything. NOTE: If you get sick with a head cold or sinus issues...grab some chicken tika masala here! It beats any over-the-counter medicine when it comes to clearing you up for a bit.

The atmosphere is this place is dreadful, I've been to emergency rooms more inviting than this place. The food is incredibly bland and average, which is never good when you're talking about Indian food. Better Indian food in Kent can be found on East Hill.

A friend found this place and told me about it. I went there once, love it and have been back several times. I love this place, their food, and their service. Service was wonderful and the food was even better. This was the best food I have eaten in a long time. The food was freshly made unlike any other India restaurants I have been to. Since it is fresh food it takes a couple extra minutes to come out but not as long as you would think. It is definitely worth the extra couple minutes. The atmosphere is typical for a small India restaurant. However on the plus size the server/owner is super friendly and really attentive. I recommend this place whole heartedly!!

Great Indian food for great price, the owners are very friendly and helpful, when I asked about the levels of spiciness, and saki if I could get chicken breast instead of dark meat they changed it for me.. great selection of vegetarian dishes and the naans. Such a big selection of food, I always try something new when I come here..

Had the paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, naan and rice. Also a dish with potatoes and cauliflower. It was all very delicious. Best Indian food we've found so far. We ordered the spice level medium, and it was pretty spicy, just an FYI:) great service as well...very friendly and helpful.

So I was in Kent the other day and decided on trying this Indian restaurant which I'm guessing is fairly new. It is located in a strip mall close to Safeway, so I think it's convenient for people to go there after or before shopping. (I'm guessing before so they would shop less!) The restaurant itself looks more like a cafeteria. There was one person there when I went for lunch. The server/owner (perhaps?) greeted me and asked me what beverage I'd like, turns out that the buffet includes a fountain drink beverage as well. The selection was very good, with 5-6 vegetable dishes and about 4 meat dishes. My favorites were chicken curry, chicken makhani and the vegetable korma. Most of the dishes were really good. They also had some salads and a dessert but I didn't try those. All in all, for the price of $9.99 it is not too shabby. I knocked down a star because of the 20 minute drive to get there and because it lacked the mango ice cream I love from East India Grill. Other than that I think it's a very nice place to eat and a good option in case I'm in Kent and in the mood for Indian food.

Everything I've had here is scrumptious. I love the service, always happy and friendly and sweet, and prompt. The food is delicious and amazingly spicy, if you want it spicy. Even if you don't want it spicy, it's still amazing and delicious. I love this place and I've never been disappointed here. I'd feel comfortable ordering anything on the menu and knowing it would be wonderful and filling and yummy.

While they no longer have the lunch buffet, their sit down menu has some of the best Indian food around here. Their food is fresh and amazingly tasty, my favorite dish is the chicken korma...so delicious. The cheese naan is fantastic, perfect for dipping in the delicious sauce. While the decor is unassuming, I'm always happy with the service. In particular, I'm always highly entertained by the Indian music videos they have playing on TVs around the restaurant!

Got chicken curry with veggies to go, haven't had too much Indian food in my life time and they made me a fan! Was delicious ! They were very friendly and I felt welcomed as I waited for my order, also had the garlic nan bread, that was outstanding. Will be back, oh, and everything was so fresh.

We used Yelp reviews to find good Indian food while on vacation, and everything we read about this wonderful restaurant was absolutely true. I want fresh mango ice cream right now! The owner was proud of how pure the ice cream is, and the taste backed her up. The chicken tandoori had amazing flavor. The chicken hyerabadi was an interesting mixture of flavors and textures. I'm sure everything is great - I wish I could have tried more.

"Our focus is on the food" our gracious owner/server told us, and WOW is it ever. Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall adjacent to a big Safeway market, Manraj Palace is a huge surprise of bold and subtle Indian flavors. An expansive selection of traditional Indian cuisine cooked to absolute perfection sits is joined by dishes making innovative use of unusual ingredients (an array of dishes featuring artichokes, for example). The restaurant is small and simply decorated, and everything is fresh, cooked to order (they have abandoned a previous lunch buffet), and prepped in-house. Our party of three shared samosas with a trio of fine house-made chutneys, plain and garlic naan, and three entrees (including one lamb/artichoke and two different chicken dishes). All three were fabulous, but the chicken tikka masala was absolutely exemplary. We finished with a taste of the house-made mango ice cream, which was also stellar. The chef really knows this cuisine and the dishes display his deft hand at spice combinations and textures. They have a real tandoori oven which always makes a huge difference. We have resided in South King County for many years and really great dining experiences in this area are few and far between. But our party of three had six thumbs WAY up for the fantastic food coming out of the kitchen at Manraj Palace. We will returning often. I only wish I could give this restaurant a sixth star.

I frequent this unassuming restaurant. Ranjeet, the server/owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. Raj, the one who makes all of the magic happen, makes the one of the best Lamb Korma and Lamb Vindaloo I've ever had. Treat yourself, give them a try.

  • Adriane S.

I can't decide which is more extraordinary: the food or the service. It's like dining in someone's home, a very cozy home that smells WONDERFUL. Greeted and seated immediately, treated like family but never intrusively. We came from a very international foodie city (Sacramento) and travel a lot, and we thought we'd never find great Indian food in Seattle, much less in a strip mall in a suburb not far from our home. A lot of unusual recipes or traditional recipes done with a twist. The Chicken Hyderabadi is unhinged. Everything is fresh and somehow simultaneously light and rich and wonderfully spiced, fine portion/price ratio. We can't wait to go back to try more things. A warning: if you have never had Indian food, stay away. This place will set the bar so high as your first experience that you'll be underwhelmed by everything else forever, unless you actually go to India. Maybe even then.

I love this place. The food is cooked to perfection and the family that runs the restaurant are gracious and helpful with helping with selections. The bread and entrees selections are great. Go to this place you will not be disappointed!

Excellent! We went here for the first time today and were very pleased. We initially went for the buffet, but they've stopped doing that. The owner seated us and asked us what we were in the mood for. We selected a few dishes and she helped us with a few more so we ended up with a wonderful balance of sweet/salty/tangy/crisp/tender flavors and textures. Heaven! The chai is freshly made and not over-sweet. I like mine with a little extra black pepper and they were happy to make the change. The veggie samosas were (2 large per order) crisp outside and steamy inside with an assortment of chutneys. I chose the mint and it was bright flavor perfect for a soggy spring day. We also split a chickpea cucumber salad. We had mango lamb which was tender with bits of mango and a thick coconut based sauce. The goat was meaty chunks, not just bony rib sections many places serve...and the garlic naan...perfect! Each dish is carefully prepared so expect to have a some time to nibble on an appetizer and sip your chai. We ate ourselves silly and still came away with enough for 2-3 more meals. We will be back and we'll be bringing friends!

This is me and my girlfriends favorite Indian food place. We've tried most of the menu and haven't had something we don't like. The owner is always kind and friendly and the food never disappoints. If you're in the area, check this place out.

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. The lunch buffet is guaranteed to be amazing. They always have a wide variety of food, some vegetarian and some not. The meal comes with a drink and naan bread. The staff are very kind as well. But I can't say enough good things about the food. I've never been displeased with anything at Manraj Palace and I go there almost every time I'm in town.

Really good food. Went there for lunch yesterday, we had the buffet. Everything was hot, fresh tasted wonderfully. The owner is super nice and attentive to your needs and the naan is really hot and fresh too. The owner said the buffet items change daily, so it won't always be the same items in the buffet. Good price for the food too. I want to go back and try the Chicken vindaloo.

Excellent food. Awesome service. Great time talking with the owner and the cook. Just a GREAT experience. I WILL come back! it is worth the 70 miles round trip. Manraj Palace is definitely my preferred Indian food place in the Puget Sound.

Garlic Naan is amazing and the sauces were so delicious we wanted to lick our plates. The quality of the meat was far beyond any Indian restaurant we have been to. The service was warm and friendly. This is a must have, we recommend this place to everyone. Well worth driving to for anyone in the Seattle area.

Good Indian food, which is hard to find in South King & Pierce Counties. Food quality is good, with a few unique items. Ambiance is lacking, but I'll take it, as it's the only game in town, and the food quality is worth it. It's un-decorated and in a strip mall. We'll be returning though, for (finally) some good authentic Indian food close to home. Prices were reasonable.

Great food!! Small family business with awesome service. If you don't know what you want just ask and the owner will help you decide! Most of the dishes can be made mild, medium, or spicy. Very delicious. I didnt think I liked Indian food until eating here, couldn't recommend it enough.

If you're like me, and you've long been a Covington resident starved for good Indian food, Manraj Palace is the answer for your problems. First off, the food is excellent. According to the wonderful owner, everything is made fresh as soon as you order it. We were given Indian "chips and dip" as she said, free of charge, which was a great way to start the meal. The main dishes were full of flavor and we were able to leave full and with leftovers to spare. This service was excellent - our server (who I believe is the the owner?) was more than happy to talk to us about the quality of various dishes and offer suggestions. She was very sweet. We are definitely going back - they have an all you can eat lunch buffet every day of the week, which we will definitely take advantage of on non-work days.

We just had a fabulous dinner at Manraj tonight! The best Paneer Masala I ever had, very creamy and not very tomato tasting. Very fresh and seasoned perfectly. Great garlic naan and Chicken Malai with coconut and cream sauce was tasty! Indian food is our favorite and we have been around, but will frequent this place for sure and bring friends!!

Food was great! Thank you to the owner who was very hospitable and gave us great service. We ordered the veggie pakora -- yum! Then we had Chicken Tikka Masala and Navratan Korma -- so good! Garlic naan and rice were equally as yummy. Chai was a little too milky, but had good flavor. Overall Delicious!

Yep, it's that good. Everything on the menu is made to order and delicious. The spicy foods (which I love) are truly spicy but have a great depth of flavor. The non-spicy foods are rich and full of flavor. I gorged myself on homemade garlic naan. The extremely friendly owner told us that they even make their own yogurt and ice cream. We had both and they were amazing. This is now our weekend go-to spot. They do to-go orders but then you'd miss talking to the very friendly owner.

Best Indian food I've ever had. LOVED the Mango Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh. Service was spectacular. Only downside is that it is a 14 hour drive to get there from where we live. If you get the chance, don't pass this up.

This is some of the best Indian food I have had in a really long time. You won't be disappointed. Great service and company. Lunch buffet is cheap and the food is always rotated each day so you can always try something new. The pork keema mutter and the saag paneer is fantastic. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for great Indian food around Covington/Maple Valley, this place is it!! One of the owners, Ranjet, is very friendly and accomodating, and she has us laughing every time we are in there. Her husband is the chef and holy cow, his food is amazing. The lunch buffet is fantastic, lots of different dishes and always something new to try with a great $10 price tag and free soda or chai tea. They keep a few of the most popular dishes on the buffet but create other great new dishes of their own as well - try the new pork dish, it's so good! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

My family and I (7 in all) have been to this restaurant twice, so far. We all love Indian food and have tried many over the years. Although the decor is very plain and minimal, the food is fantastic! Their naan (we've tried garlic and plain) is tender with crisp edges. Every dish we have tried we have loved...dishes with paneer cheese, eggplant, chicken, lamb...all so yummy! Very, very flavorful with great balance of spices. Love the thin, crispy papadum that they put on the table as soon as you sit down--as an former NYer, I haven't had that in years, and I could make a meal out of that, alone! Deliciously rich pistachio ice cream comes in a very generous portion that can be shared by 2 or more after a very satisfying meal. Attentive, concerned service by the owner. We will be visiting this restaurant over and over. Just note that as of the date of this review, they had not yet hung a neon sign, so it is easy to overlook their location--between the teryaki and Pizza Hut store fronts in the Safeway shopping center on Kent-Kangley Road (across from the Lake Meridian shopping center).
