They've expanded their space so that's no longer an issue. You're able to enjoy your meal with ample room between tables. Food is still good quality. The one thing they continue to struggle with is service. It's unfortunate. Employees are not properly trained, they don't have systems in place and the customer experience is inconsistent. Case in point: When you order take out, they don't have basic process like in other places where the person takes the order, reads it back to you for confirmation (rereads it until they get it correct), ask for your name, when will you pick up. Take out orders are wrong 7 to 8 times out of 10. We've learned to always check before leaving. Also, I don't know what their system is in the kitchen but I've seen quite a few people leave because of wait times (even when it's not busy). Anyway, I still really like this place because of the food - there are hardly any options for Filipino food in my area, the quality and portion size, they addressed the space issue and the people are friendly (even if they are inefficient).

Atmosphere is decent, honestly just came by for some to-go and their service towards taking orders is state of the art and efficient. In other words quick. As for the food, I got the pork adobo and it gives me a sense of home and traditional style pork adobo, it's savory pork and rice is a sure fire way to get in to a comfy food coma. Also, I got a side order of their pork lumpia and its crisp to hot flavorful inside is quite the deal for being as good as it is. All in all. My stomach would like the credit for rating this 5-stars

(3.5 stars) I typically don't like to write reviews based off one visit, but I feel like we ordered enough menu items and stayed long enough to get a good sense of what this restaurant has to offer. Pros: You get a free cup of broth (sinigang or nilaga) with whatever you order. I went with the sinigang broth, which was nicely tart and not too overpowering. The tapsilog was actually quite flavorful, but the sinangag was pretty bland, although my friend said it was better tasting than her past visit a few weeks ago. The pork lumpia was really tasty and the pancit bihon wasn't half bad. Portions were generous and prices were really reasonable. Cons: Really, I guess I should have spoken Tagalog because it seemed like there were some language barriers with our waitress. She kept asking me questions about my order, which I clarified, but were obviously not understood when she brought out the wrong items/wrong versions (affordabowl vs regular sized, wanted my egg completely fried and cooked all the way through, but it was over easy & super runny). I'm pretty laid back about that stuff and more go with the flow, so it didn't bother me too much, but I could see how someone could get really pissed off about it. Also, the water tasted like soap. I ended up asking for a replacement, but it all tasted like soap. Part of why I hate drinking from plastic cups, but I understand this is probably more cost effective for business than having drinking glasses. Some of the food also tasted slightly soapy to me as well? I don't know, but it was pretty weird. Despite the kinks, I would definitely come back because it was probably better than a lot of other Filipino options I've had in the Greater Seattle area. I'd also like to try more menu options and see if I can get better, more attentive service in the future.

My favorite Filipino restaurant in the greater Seattle area (which is saying a lot because 1) I've tried a majority of them and 2) I'm Filipino myself and so I've grown up with my mom's Filipino cooking which is freaking AMAZING - and if she had a restaurant this restaurant would probably have to become my second favorite..but for now that is not the case) I've tried just about everything on the menu and would recommend IT ALL!!! (literally...all of it). I've never been disappointed after eating here. Highlights that really stand out are the Kare-kare and the Chicharon. If you're new to Filipino food I would recommend the pork or Chicken Adobo, and the Pancit Bihon. They have also recently remodeled and expanded the restaurant so it has a great, family type ambiance that isn't too casual but very warm and welcoming.

  • Babe M.

The shrimp pancit bihon was light although the portion was colossal. The barbecue reminded me somewhat of pinchos which are kebabs Puerto Rican style. I wasn't to fond of the lumpia which are Filipinos version of egg rolls but the Calamansi( a lemon from Cebu) juice drink was hands down awesome. Over all food was good!

    Great food and friendly service.

The best Filipino restaurant in Seattle . Kare kare and grill pampano is like my moms home cooking.

  • Jeanelle S.

I'm half Filipino and grew up eating Filipino food. When I try Filipino restaurants I know that the food will not taste like my family's, but I know what flavors the food should have. I came here because everyone gave it great reviews. I ordered the pork adobo, pork sinigang, and lechon kawali. Pork adobo is supposed be made using vinegar and soy sauce. This adobo tasted like it had some vinegar and no soy sauce and it had a gravy-like texture which I was not a fan of. Pork sinigang is supposed to be a sour soup made from tamarind, but this soup tasted like oil. The meat was tender, I will give them that, but the soup didn't taste like anything. The lechon kawali could have been good, but there were pieces of overcooked pork in there and I couldn't chew it. I really wanted to like this place because the servers were very nice and the kitchen was clean, but I'm sad that the food was bland and I was not able to chew the lechon. If you really want to experience Filipino food, please do not eat here, there are much better places to eat in Seattle.

High expectations have been Met! Monkey has very high standards when it comes to paying for Filipino food because we, or our parents do it better. Do take out counter or be seated and enjoy the hospitality. Very nice staff. Monkey do: PORK LUMPIA - deep fried ground pork w/vegetables & spices wrapped in rice paper KARE KARE - stewed beef oxtail & shank cooked in peanut sauce w/eggplant(or today it was bok choy) & long beans. The shrimp paste that complements this dish is perfect in small amounts in your rice. GINISANG MONGGO - sautéed mung beans w/pork & spinach("Cup size" is a small bowl, not cup) "AffordaBOWL" is cheaper single serving entree over rice in a bowl. "Vegetable Dishes" are cooked with meats. Although that free soup was way too salty for this Monkey, everything else wasn't and tasted absolutely delicious! Are we related?

  • John G.

It's better than moms cooking lol!!! Seriously though get in here and you won't be disappointed!!! One of the best in the northwest by far cheapest Filipino restaurant.

    (5)
  • O D.

Second time here just as good as the first! Prompt, speedy service and nice interior. The restaurant is stuck in between a laundromat and a convenience store but the incredible food makes up for the unique location. Our favorites: lechon kawali, pork sinigang and pancit. I love both sauces with the lechon. My mouth waters as I upload this picture...

My wife and I have been a long time customer since finding out this place was only 15 minutes away. We mainly do take out. Good food and reasonable pricing. Unfortunately, the only negative is that the service is subpar. On a good day expect to have to ask for your missing sauce, in a bad day expect to have to drive back because they forgot your entree. We've ordered on many occasions for family get togethers and our $100+ orders always have a problem. I mean when I go McDonald's, they never forget anything!! They are busy everyday-all day. There is a process in place for the cook and the cashier to check to ensure the customer has everything and for the 1 out of 50 times they do miss something they offer some free fries for an accommodation. You will enjoy this great Filipino food, as long as you double check to make sure it was what you've ordered...

  • Jason J.

Just moved to the area. It took me 2 weeks for someone to tell me about this place. As soon as I found out - it took me only 15 minutes to get there and order something. I am glad I didn't waste time. Food was good. Not too oily. Not overcooked. Flavored well. Can't wait to go through their menu. I do hope they have seasonal items come summer time...

  • Nett G.

Great hole in the wall place! Owners are friendly too! Most importantly the food is exceptionally delicious. The portion sizes are great too! Cost $. Something quick for close to home!

  • Courtney D.

The customer service sucks!!! I could go on about all my bad experiences but if u really want to eat this food you should order for take out. Food is pretty good but wen u eat at there restaurant get ready for water that tastes like paper towls and the worst customer service possible!!!

    (2)
  • Paolo F.

It's good, it's doesn't taste like home cooked filipino food but then again it's not my parents killing it in that kitchen.

    (3)
  • Vera B.

It use to be affordable and good, just did a takeout and pancit was sooo bland; added my own seasoning.

    (1)
  • Elohni D.

The chicken bbq sticks were super yummy!!! The lumpia was a little small but still good as well!!

  • Giena L.

There is a lack of Filipino restaurants to begin with, and there's an even greater lack of good Filipino restaurants. This place is a nice sit down restaurant, where they make your food to order. It's not one of those buffet style or the food is already made and you have to pick and choose from what's already there. The menu is good, lots of options. Tried the kare kare (Filipino peanut oxtail stew), tortang talong (eggplant omelette), pinakbet (assorted veggies), lechon kewali (crispy fried pork belly) and of course rice. Everything was delicious. And coming from my mom (who went with me), that means it's good, and when a Filipino says it's good, it's good. (but of course nothing beats home cooked) I wish a had room for dessert, but alas it was very filling and all at affordable prices. Just sucks it's in Kent.

    (4)
  • Andy Z.

lunch food: kare kare. this is an oxtail stew with a peanut base. comes with rice and a side of, i want to say, shrimp paste? adds a bunch of flavor to the dish. it has a great peanut flavor, if you like that. but when it said to be a stew, it threw me off a bit. the oxtail was well cooked and falling off the bone. i tried a bite of the chicken adobo, not my favorite. i know many makes it slightly different, but this one had too much vinegar for my taste. ***3/5 service: fast service: didnt have to wait long. our server was nice and got what we needed. ***4/5 value: ordering oxtail is always a bit expensive. but i think theres a good quantity of it in this meal. lots of rice and the shrimp paste thing is a good addition. ***4/5

  • Mel T.

Love this place! Great Filipino food at affordable prices. Obsessed with their Kare Kare and pork bbq sticks. Haven't had a chance to try their breakfast dishes but they look delicious as well. Good thing I don't live too close to this place or I'd be here three times a week!

  • Gregorio S.

Bad service, bad food. Typical Filipino restaurant once they got established food and service goes down the drain. Isla manila flip sum is way better, customer service is second to none

We have been going to this place for years. They use to have a small space. And you can't dine in. They expanded it few years ago and it looks great. It's near we're we live. So it's very convenient when you are craving for Filipino foods. They always have good food and the owner is also hands on cooking. Family and boyfriend loves it.

  • John O.

The best Filipino food I've ever had!!! Our party of four ordered Chicken Lumpia, Chicken BBQ, Crispy Pata, Mixed Pancit, Pinakbet, and Pork Fried Rice. Everything was delicious. If I had to give letter grades, they would be A's, with the Chicken BBQ an A+, and the Lumpia a B. All of us were so satisfied, that we will become regulars. We have been there twice before for breakfast. We had Spam SiLog and Tortang Talong (Egg Plant and Ground Pork Omelet). We loved our breakfast on each occasion, especially the Egg Plant. Very nice staff.

  • Samaria B.

Not going to lie I was pretty disappointed. I love Filipino food more than anything and it's not that the food wasn't good, it just didn't taste how it should've tasted. I got the chicken adobo and it was so bland and watery. I went right they opened so I wonder if it was just bad timing. I'll try it again at a later time hopefully it's better

    (3)
  • Kate C.

I...don't know much about Filipino cuisine, so I'll just say that I find this place plenty tasty without craving anything from here- you know? The prices seem reasonable, and I really appreciate that you can get a "small" or a "large" size depending on what you need.

    (3)
  • Sarah P.

Really yummy food. The only downfall would be they are often out of items on the menu early in the day. Luckily there are plenty of other items to choose from. Always recommend the lumpia and pancit. Fried bananas were good but a bit different with mango pieces added.

  • Triccia O.

My first time ever eating at a Filipino restaurant was great! You get huge portions for a great price! I ended up ordering three bowl sized dishes and I only finished one lol. The smallest size definitely filled me up. But maybe because I'm such a small person! The food here reminds me of home cooked food in the Philippines and brings back good memories. For any first timers out there or people looking for something new to try, I highly recommend the honeydew or the melon drink with crushed ice. It has just the right consistency and blend of fruit along with ice, it'll make you come back for more! You can even ask for a sample and their sample sizes are about half a cup which is pretty dang awesome! It's almost as if it's a sno-cone with real fruit pulp! Sounds pretty amazing huh? I'll be making a few trips here and there especially during the hot summer to cool off with this tasty treat!

CRACK ASS GOOD filipino food and very nice customer service skills to boot, this is the real deal people. if you like filipino food, you will think this place is amazing. also like the neato checkout with the touch screen, like the food trucks

Huge fan of Filpino Food and my other half is from there so naturally we had to come here. We just moved to Kent a few months back from Seattle and we always would frequent Inay's on Beacon Hill. So glad this place is here for us! The sinigang isn't as good as Inay's in Seattle but it was good. The staff was awesome! The prices are just right and the portions are good. This is the new go-to place.

  • Maureen C.

Had lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had crispy pata, tilapia, pork sinigang, lumpia and bbq chicken. A lot of food for 3 people. Everything was on point. Pretty much got as much rice as we wanted. Service was great and they have improved in timeliness. A lot quicker than the previous times. So close to home. We'll be back.

  • Diane M.

The food is always fresh and we'll seasoned, and is made to order,. Sometimes we call ahead if we are in a hurry. The service is very friendly. My husband favorite is the bbq pork on skewers. I love any of their breakfast choices however I think the long-si-log wins out. Eggs over easy with garlic fried rice with filipino sausage. Everything is made fresh to order. Best filipino food around!

  • Maria G.

Yesterday I was craving Chicken adobo, but I was disappointed when I finally got home, sat down and ate it. It was missing the savory vinegar/soy sauce taste. This is not the last time either. Their pinakbet was mediocre. The authentic filipino taste is gone. I'm so disappointed because I Love LOVE filipino food!!!!

  • John M.

As I'm writing this I am still full from the delicious lunch I had here. This place never lets me down and as always very pleased with the food here. Today I came with some hungry friends and went with the family style so that we could order a variety of dishes. We had the pork adobo, garlic rice, lechon kawali, pancit, and lumpia. The staff is very friendly and always asking if we needed anything. Very clean environment and plenty of parking spaces.

  • Lisa R.

I have never stayed to eat here so can't say much about the atmosphere other than that it feels like your typically nice, small (but successful) family business type of place. But I'm not here for that. I'm here for the food. We have had the pancit and several of the rice and meat bowls, along with the lumpia. All of it is perfectly seasoned, filling, and memorable. The portions are large and the prices are great. Really cannot say anything remotely bad about their food. It's perfect! If you haven't tried Filipino food before (gasp!) then this is the perfect spot for you. You'll fall in love with it, guaranteed!

    (5)
  • Hawk C.

They have the best halo-halo, smooth and just the right sweetness. Big serving of Pancit Malabon, good for 3 people. But we missed their fresh fried chicharon.

    (5)
  • Sheila M.

I had been going to this place for quite sometime...friendly staff and clean place...being a Chef and a Filipino I just think some of the dishes are done wrong...flavor and seasoning is fine but the way the food is cooked is quite hmmmm wrong...like for instance the pinakbet has too much liquid and the slices of veggies are huge. Bicol express is wrong too it looks like ground meat...but...I still like the place just the method of cooking dishes should improve though!!

    (3)
  • J A.

This is by far the tastiest Filipino restaurant in Seattle. I've tried almost all the dishes and they have yet to disappoint. Their level of service is "unrefined" and could use some polishing. Other than that, enjoy Seattle's best Filipino food in town!!

    (4)
  • Mark C.

Amazing Filipino Food. Had a great with the wife and kiddos. Tapsilog, longsilog, bbq pork sticks, pork adobo, pancit bihon, pork lumpia, and ending with halo halo. Everything taste authentic and oh so good.

  • Erin R.

Holy delicious food!! Everything that was ordered at my table of 6 was delicious. Great flavors and big portions. I'm glad the food was excellent, because the service was a little rough. I think mainly because of language barrier. Everyone was very nice, but 3 of the 6 orders were wrong or forgotten. They brought my friend the wrong meal, and still charged her. She didn't mind because she said she would just eat it for lunch tomorrow. I have no ice what my meal was called, but it was fried tofu and ground pork in a garlic soy sauce with veggies and rice. It was SO good. So much flavor.

  • Reyz A.

Typical Filipino restaurant/take-out where there's not that much room to eat, but a good place for take-out. I personally liked the Menudo (OK, it's Filipino style, so unlike the Mexican cousin, this is not made with tripe)-- which is stewed pork in tomato sauce. My mom and dad seem to like the Lechon Kawali (roasted and dep fried pork belly), but what do I know, I like Filipino gulay (veggies) most of the time. They also liked the Pancit Bihon (the stir fried cornstarch noodles). I thought the Pork Lumpia was kind of smallish, compared to the burrito sized home made ones that I'm so used to. Since I was visiting family and getting last minute addition to Thanksgiving food, I thought the food here was pretty good, and the service was nice. ...OK, my poor attempt at a Tagalog Yelp version. Here it goes: Tipikal na Pilipino "take out" at walang room para kumain.

Food was good, quick to come out and it was hot and fresh didn't sit out before served. Place was nice and clean, our seating was good right by the kitchen so we could see everything come out and it all looked good. We ordered the pancit with chicken, beef and shrimp in it. Pork lumpia and lechon Kawali. Everything was tasty and good. The only disappointment was the garlic fried rice. It was just white rice with a little garlic mixed in. I will be back, overall experience was good.

  • Dan K.

decided to do take out and came across wanting to try this local place. the mister got LECHON KAWALI which is roasted deep fried pork belly - was super crunchy and flavorful. the side sauces were an excellent complement to the pork. I got a pork bbq and boy was it scrumptious, it had SO much flavor throughout and was perfectly cooked. the portions are very generous, we couldn't finish everything. if you're in the area, def come to this place :)

    (5)
  • Lloyd J.

Very excellent and tasty food! The pancit was savory and the lumpia was steaming hot! I have over-eaten and need to nap! Will definitely be back again!!!

  • Bill G.

Authentic, delicious, cheap and huge portions. I'm not sure what else you need. Get yourself to Fil Cuisine for some awesome Filipino food. Go with a group and order a few things so you can eat family style and try an assortment. Get some crispy pata, oxtail stew and pancit and you cannot go wrong. Don't be afraid of Filipino cuisine. Stop eating bland food and go here. That is all.

Pancit, Chicken Lumpia, and Chicken Adobo!!! Fantastic, reminds of home. Great food, prepared well and seasoned right.

  • Caitlin G.

I've never eaten in, I always take it because they are so close to home. The pork adobo is delicious, but a little greasy. The pancit is always delicious, and the lumpia is key good. My only complaint is that they are the slowest restaurant in the history of mankind, so be prepared to wait (don't show up starving) Even when I called ahead one time, it was obvious they didn't start cooking my order until I had already been there about 15 minutes... So as long as you aren't in a hurry or about to die of hunger, the food is worth the wait.

My FAVORITE Filipino restaurant in all of Seattle, New York, and New Jersey (I'm originally from Seattle, but reside in NYC now..) - outside of the PI of course. Everything they do here is authentic, freaking DELICIOUS, and cheap - with huge portions to boot. Driving all the way to Kent just for this is sooo worth it. Every time I come here with family we always order way too much food, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My favorites include: - chicharron: so bad for you, but sooo crispy and good! It comes in a huge bowl of chicharron-y goodness. Enough for like, 10 people probably. - kare kare: some of the best I've ever had, anywhere! - pork adobo: can't go wrong. - daing na bangus, aka fried milkfish I could probably go on, but those 4 dishes are my must-haves. I'm writing this from NYC right now, but, UGH - TAKE ME BACK!!

Super good filipino food. Love broth served with meal. Big portions. Best pork belly ever!!! Dipping sauces and condiments always fabulous. Highly recommend. Very friendly with great service.

Since moving to Washington from Hawaii, we've been looking for a place to eat good filipino food and we found the place! We ordered pinakbet, pansit bihon, lechon kawali, pork lumpia, and halo halo!! The portions were huge and the food was awesome! Definitely will be coming back.

HIT OR MISS I've been here 3 times in the past month, between September-October 2013. The first 2 times were great. Wonderful attentive service, delicious filipino food and affordable. I would rate between 4 and 5 stars! My 3 star review reflects the experience I am currently having (I am drafting this review on my phone right now as I sit at this restaurant) My experience right now is a complete night and day difference from my first 2 visits within this past month. My complaints: - the garlic fried rice was extremely bland. This was one of the reasons why I love coming here for breakfast, because the garlic rice is just so good. This time, it was terrible without flavor. - The waitress mixed up my order, instead of getting me the larger portion of longsilog, I got the affordaBowl, which is dramatically smaller in portion size - I good brewed coffee, she asked what I wanted with it, I said milk. She gave me capsules of half and half. - the longsilog portion was too small with only 2 sausages, so I orders a side of tocino. That took 20 minutes to receive, which would have been fine if the restaurant was overwhelmingly busy, which it was not. - the gentleman who sat next to me, whom I did not know, was also not happy with his experience: the mistook his affordabowl for the larger portion. He also didn't receive his soup. He was not happy This is such a shame, because prior to this visit I would have given them a 4 or 5, but now I even think giving them a 3 is really generous of me. I don't know if their usual cook was not there, but it was spotty

We are new to Filipino food but we think Fil Cuisine is top notch. We enjoyed the pancit noodles and lumpia here. Excellent quality and flavor in food. We love it!

My first trip and I've been to many filipino restaurants in California, Las Vegas, and Seattle. We ordered Longsilog and Tocilog and since we drove from Snoqualmie, I decided to order Pork Sinigang, Bar-B-Q Beef, and Turon to go. The Sinigang was awesome and since I ordered the family size, I had it for a couple of meals. The turon was great and would have been excellent had I had it right after it was cooked. For $40.00, I was impressed with the amount of food we had. Will definitely go back and for those of you craving filipino food, this is the place.

When I think of authentic and home cooked Filipino food I automatically think moms house. Now my moms don't cook everything anymore. So what's the best alternative? Filcuisine is the alternative. I love it. The adobo and sinagang are my favorite. Portions are good and prices reasonable. The customer service is great too.

  • Shor T.

It's been awhile since I've been here and glad to see they have expanded!! It's a pretty good size now, compared to what they had before. It's also pretty cleaner than a lot of other places I've been to, like most Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants. (Ewww!) Service is always friendly here and I truly appreciate any restaurant that serves their guests water, first and foremost. I guess when I was growing up, my father (former inspector) always criticized the service if we sat and waited for our glass of water. For dinner we had what they call the "AffordaBowl" selection, which is a good portion. Maybe not enough for most men but it was a good size for my hubby especially since he ate half of my portion of the rice. I had pork BBQ while he had pork adobo. We also ordered their lumpia, which wasn't too impressive and hubby had halo-halo for dessert. So yeah...he was pretty stuffed!! I also ate more than I had planned. Yet, no regrets!!Pinoy food isn't always convenient for us. Unfortunately with the amount of Filipinos here, many I'm sure can cook extremely well, we only have a handful of Filipino restaurants we can choose from. Chow King and Jollibee doesn't count. It's just the pinoy version of "McDoh"!! Lol! FilCuisine isn't bad at all, though I may not be descriptive enough right now as I am so stuffed. I'm ready for bed but the sun hasn't set yet! I suggest for you to try this place out and maybe try their adobo or pancit bihon or their BBQ if you haven't tried filipino dishes--ever!! Kare kare or pinakbet would be an acquired taste even for most Filipinos I know. If your dish is bland, don't be so critical as it would be easier to adjust to your personal preference with the condiments available at the table. Good luck! Food coma setting in...

Can't remember exactly what I ordered but I tried about 5 different items family style. Everything I ordered was pretty good. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the portions to price value was kind of on the pricey side. There was a stewed pork dish that hardly had any pork in it also. They charge for each serving of rice, not like some places that charge you once and give you free refills. My family ordered two servings of rice each and the cost of rice ended up costing as much as an entrée. I could of bought a 10 lb. bag of rice at the store. I really liked the food here but I don't think I will go back because it is a little pricey for the portion to price value and the expensive steamed rice. 5 stars for taste and 3 stars for portions to price.

It took these guys over 45 minutes to make my order. Thats including calling the order in 20 minutes before picking it up. Some of the food may be good, but it's not worth that long a wait time.

Best Filipino food!! We have been going here for ever since its opened and the food is consistent. Feels like my grandma cooks for me every time we go. The portions are excellent. They have been super busy and expanded their restaurant. Love going here!

I like this restaurant. It's the only Filipino restaurant I've been to in the Seattle area besides Chow King. The food is good; especially the crispy pata and the chicken BBQ. The service is kind of slow. The only thing that is on the downside is the location. There are sketchy people that hang outside the 7 Eleven next door.

So my wife & I decided to try this place since driving by last week. We ordered the Lechon Kawali, mix pancit, mechado & lumpia. We got the regular size. We got regular rice which was nice with the mechado. However, the mechado was a bit salty but the white rice evened it out! Lumpia was ok. However, the mix pancit was a great portion and I love the fact the meats in them were big and many! The Lechon looked different for what we were use too seeing but I liked it very much! Sauce was nice with the Lechon! We surprisingly had room for Halo Halo which had a good amount of goodness! UBE ice cream on the Halo was nice! Overall, I would go back and definitely bring friends & family! OK! As faith had it we were back here the very next day! Fathers Day 2014! This time we got mongo & Kare Kare! Both dishes were good! It was very nice to see people here and I would say 80% full. Once again we got Halo Halo! In essence the true test will be trying the pork adobo! To be continued..........! :-)

Still my favorite!! Specifically Favorites are tapsilog, sinigang, lechon kawali, crispy pata, nilaga, mechado, igado and mongo for "detox". Yes there is seafood city but this place is just homier and delicious. the tapsilog is the best i have ever had- sweet sirloin meat with rice and egg (this is a good dish for someone who hasnt had exposure to pinoy food yet.

I have tasted at least five different Filipino restaurants in the Seattle area and this place gets it right every time. I went in for breakfast and had Langsilog and everything was perfect. The langunisa was really moist and flavorful without being overly greasy. Their garlic rice is probably the best I've had, nice and fresh, not too sticky, and the perfect amount of garlic (i.e. lots). We got a tortang talong on the side and it was perfectly prepared, though I think it could have used a little more meat. Since meat isn't traditional in the dish (at least in my wife's family) I guess I shouldn't expect too much. As far as their signature dish, its gotta be the chicharon. Its really crispy with just the right amount of soft, juicy, delicious fat to make every bite perfect. If it wouldn't make me completely obese, I would order this stuff every chance I get. I count myself lucky that there is a bit of distance between me and Kent. I love that they use an iPad for their register and you sign with your finger. It auto-populates percentages of tips and, while I consider this not too difficult, its convenient. The prices are right and the service is great. They gave us extra sauce and checked on us during the meal.

Best Filipino food in town! Going to Fil Cuisine is like going to home to Mom and Grandma's house. We are always happy with how they prepare the food. Everything is great! Thanks Nanay, Jerry, Coach and all of the staff at Fil Cuisine.

Yelpers & Friends this place has some tasty home style cooked Filipino food. Located in Kent, WA between a 7-Eleven & Laundry mat, Fil Cuisine exists. They make their own Chicharon...Its sizzling to perfection when you get it. All the food that I tasted was really good. They have a White Board for daily made specials. On Sundays they serve your classic Filipino Breakfast. I don't know how busy they get..but they have limited seating! Yay! I'm a fan. Maraming salamat po...I will be back! Mabuhay Filipino Food! Masarap ang pagkain dito. Just FYI they do not serve Sisig, Balut or Dinuguan...

If you want home style filipino cooked like mom then come no further. No, really, the guy's mom is the one cooking your food in the kitchen! This recent addition to filipino cuisine is located in a non-descript strip mall in what used to be a pizza take out place. So, yes, it is exceedingly small, like three tables small. Food is cheap, with most things costing just under $7. Here was the damage: Crispy pata (one of specials of the day)- nice crispy, cooked to perfection! chicharron- oh lordy, freshly fried pork skins! this aint no store bought bagged pork cracklins! This is the real deal! cardiologist beware! pork lumpia- a bit bigger and meatier than your store bought freezer finger sized lumpia. these were bigger and meatier... pancit bihon- nice, pretty tasty, wished they had more dried shrimp in it, still very good though. pork calderata-a nice porky stew with tomoto-ish based sauce. Great flavor good to scoop on rice! BBQ chicken skewers- great sweet grilled flavor! Pork adobo-yes, style, type and flavor or adobe is as highly contested amongst filipinos. This version used pork butt which wasn't very fatty. A good rendition. Turon- banana fritter- nice sweet and crispy! if you noticed, yes there was a huge amount of pork represented as I was joined by fellow yelpers who also share in the adoration of pork. On sundays they do filipino brunch with eggs/tosino (marinated pork) and longanisa (flipino pork sausage). They close fairly early as well, 8pm. The have a number of specials that are not on regular rotation on the menu so make sure you ask them if you are calling an order in. The folks who work there are really nice and very helpful with recommendations.

I get lunch to go orders a lot from here. I love that they have an "afford-a-bowl," which is a great portion and great price. The Food: I am not always an adventurous eater, but their tasty food has convinced me to explore their menu. The only thing I have eaten so far that was not to my personal liking was the Kare Kare. To be fair it was the first time I had it and I don't think Ox Tail is my fav. The Adobo is really good. The meat chicken or pork melts in your mouth. The Menudo is also really good. Don't let the cooked grapes keep you from trying it. The To-Si-Log with over easy eggs, is AMAZING. I prefer the steamed rice over the garlic. The Turon is great. Never overly greasy and the Jackfruit gives it a great pop. The Service: Always fast and friendly. They have even given me samples when waiting on food. The Conclusion: I LOVE this restruant, and go so often I am scared I will get burned out. You should try this place. --South Texas Transplant

Very nice Philippine menu. Took me a while to make a decision. Place was busy and it took a while for my food to be ready. But it was quite delicious! The lumpia is hit or miss. Once it was over done and the other, it was perfect. The pancit has always been good.

Good, cheap, dine in or dine out! The pancit was very good as well as the pinakbet and lechon. The pork adobo was actually on the bland side but still good. The roasted eggplant dish was also tasty.

I am a really picky person when it comes to Filipino food. It's always hard to find that restaurant that serves the type you're used to. Well this place is it. Their Lechon Kawali is the crispiest I've ever had. We ordered to go and even after being in the microwave a bit, it didn't soften. Also the portion we ordered came with a side of mango salad which is superb. I've also had their Kare-Kare (amazing), pinakbet and nilaga - which not a lot of Filipino places have. Their pork sinigang serving is very generous and an extra side of broth is no charge. If you're looking for a great place to eat, get full & have enough to take home - this place is it!

Filcuisine Thank God you are so close to home!!! Right by Chevron & 7-11 there's actually a good place to get some delicious filipino dishes that would satisfy my hunger when I don't have time to cook! I'm pretty picky with my filipino food & this place pass for me. They are super nice & friendly and seem to be always busy!! They have like 4-5 small tables and after dining in a couple times I noticed a lot of filipinos order to-go, so I end up doing the same since it's so close to home. Now I know where all the filipinos in Kent get their to-go's at ;) TIP: Call in advance to check the current specials & order pick up orders so you don't have to wait for it. They do get pretty busy (always a good sign of yummy food) so the food may sometimes take awhile, so I suggest doing that. (they do have a TV in the restaurant that plays filipino shows (TFC) while you eat and wait.) My top favorites I always order Pork Sinigang Pork Barbecue on the stick Kare-Kare Turon (This is our place to go order countless Turons for our parties & everyone loves it!) Lechon Kawali Crispy Pata Check out the picture of the front counter I uploaded =) yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Small restaurant with very friendly people. I found this place by accident on Yelp when searching for a breakfast/brunch spot in the area. I love Filipino food, but don't eat it often b/c of how heavy and rich it is. It would be easy to miss unless you know it's there, since there's no sign for it on the signage by the street, and it's tucked away behind a gas station. Since it had been awhile, I couldn't wait to try this place out. We got the Tapsilog and Tocinolog, and a side order of Pork Lumpia which came with 4pcs. The dishes cost about $6-7 each which is a tad higher than what I'm used to paying when at Filipino restaurants in LA, but I guess it's understandable with the lack of competition up here. Good was great and served pretty quickly. Couple minor things: they mixed up our orders and gave me the over medium eggs and my friend the over easy. Since we had already dug in when we realized that, it was too much trouble to switch and we just dealt with it. They also forgot about our lumpia side order until I reminded them halfway through the meal, but they were apologetic and it came out very quickly thereafter. None of that was a big deal, and I'll def be back the next time I'm feening for some Filipino eats.

My friends and I started a Monday dinner tradition where we go searching for 4-5 star restaurants from Yelp. The past Monday was week 3 of this tradition. We decided we wanted Filipino food and found Fil Cuisine. We ordered menudo, pork sinagong, chicken adobo, and pancit. The menudo was superb but the rest were eh...mediocre. I was especially disappointed with the pancit. It did not have much flavor and was.... mediocre. I'm pretty sure I can make better adobo at home. Customer service was okay. I got the feeling that the cashier lady was new, because she almost shorted us $7.00 back in change. Good thing I looked at the receipt and counted my money! For me, this place was just an okay experience.

One awesome perk, they deliver! I ordered some kare kare on a cold and rainy day in Washington. They made the kare kare really well! It wasn't watery or cold, but comforting and warm! The bagoong was great also! Usually the ones from the glass jar are purple, but this was dark brown, and looked better then the ones already store bought! My co-worker had beef caldereta and let the other gals at the office try some. Now everyone at the office wants to get food there. I really like the place and I cannot wait to eat some tapsilog or tocino on my next visit!

Update: Their food is good (I've had a menudo bowl, beef and pork bbq, and pancit malabon), just like home cookin. Friendly service at the counter every time I go. My fav is the pancit malabon, they give a lot and it's not watery and plain like Seafood City and whatever they now call that filipino restaurant on Rainier Ave in south Seattle. Iuno why a reviewer is going to complain about them not having any lunch deals though, that's pretty stupid. They have $4.99 bowls of different things anyways. Regarding my post below, I didn't really like the longanisa, to me it had a weird taste to it. Had the dish with longanisa, two eggs and garlic fried rice to go. I requested the eggs to be over easy, but the eggs weren't even close to it. One was fully cooked and the other egg's yolk was broken and fully cooked. I don't know why they even gave this instead of redoing it. I rate it only one star since I haven't tried the meat and rice yet since my husband had to go back there with the food.

This place was fantastic. The area around it is a little shady but the food is worth it. My fiance and I were just visiting from Minneapolis. They have zero Filipino food there so this was a nice treat and passed the pretty authentic test. The dining area is a little small so you might come preparing to dine in and end up getting it to go due to no room available to eat other than the parking lot curb.

I've been here a total of 4 times now. The first time was before they renovated the place. The other two times I ordered to-go. This time I dined in. I highly recommend calling in your order ahead of time and getting your order to go otherwise you're in for a long wait. Dining in, the wait for the food wasn't too bad but once your food is served, no one comes by to ask if you need anything else. My son had to go up to the counter to ask for a box and order some other food items to go. Not until we were all done with our food and was waiting for awhile did anyone come by to ask if we needed more water, etc. Other than that, the food that we had was decent. Coming from Northern California where there's an abundance of Filipino restaurants, I would rate Fil Cuisine's food as mediocre. Don't get me wrong though, their food is delicious. If it weren't for the slow service, I would have rated this place much higher. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's worth a try and I would definitely be back. The location is perfect since I live and work in the area.

I specifically told these people that I don't eat pork. I get home and find that instead of chicken & shrimp pancit, I was given pork and shrimp, which was a not so good mistake, as I don't eat pork. So I took it back, they fixed my order in which I know mistakes happen so all was forgiven. I recently ordered a family size pancit behon with once again chicken and shrimp, which I now constantly remind them that I can't eat pork, and to please make sure its chicken and shrimp. I'm shown my order, everything looks good from what I can see, its plenty of chicken, n I figured the shrimps were buried in the pancit, as they don't give you too many in your order. So I get home and start eating only to discover there are pieces of pork in my food. Once I called to tell them they then acted like they didn't understand English. I'll never patronize this place again, and don't recommend it to anyone.

Always great! I have traveled very far to impress my wife wit our selection of Filipino food. She know her brand of food very well. Not only does she cook very well but also is from Davao Philippines. Owner was and staff are so passionate with their food and how to treat a guest. I would recommend this to anyone or someone that misses home cooking from the Philippines. Average wait times are about 6 mins and seating is small. Most people who go there arrive for take out. I like to sit there and consume good food and culture.

  • Mabellyn V.

My family and I drove from Puyallup just to find out that there was hardly any seating available. I was very disappointed and walked out without even trying the food. Customers that looked like they have been done for awhile just sat there and stared. The people behind the counter seen us come in and did not greet us or anything. Probably won't return unless they expand to a different location. I rather drive to Kawali Grill in seattle where there is more seating and better customer service! And second the location is a bad area. There was drug dealing going on right in front of the 7/11 that is right next door to this establishment. Ughhhh so irritated that I wasted my time.

My husband and I were searching for a source for Filipino food in South King Co. I researched the internet last night and discovered Fil Cuisine. It had good reviews, so we went for lunch today. We were pleased beyond our expectations. My husband of 42 years is Native Filipino and I am Irish/Polish Seattle born. The atmosphere was casual, comfortable and welcoming. The service was prompt and efficient as well as attentive. The customer base was Filipino and I was the only Caucasian, which I am used to; but my point is, that Filipinos eat at Fil Cuisine. The menu was the most extensive we have seen at a Filipino restaurant. The selection was impressive, given how labor intensive Filipino food preparation is. We decided to order family size portions so we would have take home. We ordered Pinakbet, Ginisang Munggo, Pork Mixed Pancit, Pork Lumpia and Halo Halo for dessert. We enjoyed our time waiting for our food by reviewing the menu and deciding what to order on future trips to Fil Cuisine. We also asked for a catering menu and will use them to cater future functions. When the food was served, we determined that it could feed 6 people! The food was delicious! Yum! The food was freshly prepared, the vegetables were crisp and the meat tender. We are glad we found this rare jewel of a restaurant and are already loyal and ongoing customers. :)

THEEE BEST!!!! Crispy pata is tah die for... beef bbq is juicy and totally scrumptious... kare-kare is filled with the freshest vegetables and the oxtail meat would fall right off the bone. Sinigang? well lemme tell you... perfect for our rainy days in WA. EVERYTHING is soooo good! Tita Sonia, the owner, is the sweetest lady you will meet, and her dishes are a proof of her passion for cooking. Fil Cuisine deserves more than 5 stars =)

Some dishes were way too salty for my taste expecially Pancit that we had. Everything is reasonably priced and portions are big. They gave us free crunchy fried pork which was the best dish I had here.

I wasn't impress with their lack of, I mean no, combos to choose from. I had to purchase my items separately. I would recommend lunch combos for the working class. Also it about 20mins to get my food - to go. There was only 1 order ahead of me. Lumpia was okay no flavor without dipping in sauce. Garlic shrimp fried rice was mushy and had no favor. Overall it was a waste of money! I could of had a burger across the street.

I thought the food was pretty good, though I haven't had Filipino food before. I got the pork bihon with two eggrolls and it was freshly made and delicious. I also shared the halo halo with a friend which was okay, but I think could have been better. The service was amazing and the two people who were working there were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a pretty small place. Overall, it wasn't amazing but still pretty good. I'd give it about a 3.5 cause the food was pretty good and had great service.

I'm going to say this was the worst experience for a filipino restaurant i've ever had . and if possible i'd give it 0 starsI had hopes for it, thinking it was a mom and pop shop, which it is and the food was DECENT, but wasn't the best i've had. The worst part was the service. Upon walking in, there was no one in so I went straight to the counter and ordered Kare Kare and Sinigang TO GO. and sat down to wait. after about the house quickly became generally packed with eat in and to go orders. and then we waited some more. 5 minutes passed and a couple who ordered a sit in got their food before us. they ordered crispy pata, rice and some vegetables. "its okay, they're eating in". another man who was probably a regular (they referred to him as kuya), apparently ordered Kare Kare as well. and the told him that they had run out of kare kare, and if he could please order another item. then they turned their attention to me and said the same thing. by this time I had waited 25 minutes. Although peeved, i placed an order for some lechon. More waiting. An American lady came in right after and ordered some lumpia, pancit and the barbeque skewers. She pronounced every item "very american" like, and while i have no prejudice against that, its important to the story. Sat down, again...more waiting. almost 35 minutes now. then they somehow found Kare Kare and preceded to give it to this "kuya" who had ordered long after i did. As I was about speak up, they turned to me and pulled out a bag with some to go orders and said "we have your kare kare. do you still want it?" Yes of course i still want it, I wanted it 40 minutes ago. now this next part is a kick in the face. when they were finishing to pack my order, one of the men came out with the American lady's order and proceeded to do so by saying, "Oi, Miss America! I have Miss America's order here!" Honestly, you have the balls to shout that. and this lady waited max 15 minutes. I felt so sorry for her. I received my order and went straight home never to want to go there again. but the upset didn't stop there. When i got home to enjoy what was my now growing cold food, i found that THERE WAS NO RICE included in the TO GO. none whatsoever. as if they just expect you to take it home and eat your own rice. What if i hadn't gone home and was bringing it somewhere else. Oh and there was no Bagoong for the kare kare either after the cashier asked if i wanted some and I said yes. Stay far away from this place. Service is slow, unorganized and disrespectful. Good food can be found elsewhere.

A friend of mine told me their halo-halo was better than Chowking's which I beg to disagree. The first 3 times I went, I ordered halo halo each time, there was not much in it (no beans, no kaong, no nata, no leche flan, no langka) so because of this, I'm giving this place 4 stars. The food here is delicious and cheap. For those of you who loves Filipino BBQ sticks, theirs is pretty good, not great, but still yummy! Try both the chicken and pork BBQ. I am not much of a meat eater but my friends were all hooked. This place is a little no frills hole in the wall, maybe four tables to sit at. The service is always fast and the staff always friendly. They have all your Filipino staples: Adobo, Kaldereta, Lumpia, Sinigang, etc. Dishes can be different from day to day, but they serve Filipino breakfast all day like Bangsilog, Tosilog and Tapsilog.

fil cuisine, you're up against a hard critic right here. my mom is the BEST filipino cook i know. i always, always compare all filipino food to hers and no one can compare. when i go to filipino parties, i find myself disappointed with bland, boring, not up to par filipino food. and sometimes i wonder why some people even try. but Fil Cuisine you did not disappoint! i've enjoyed every dish i've tried so far, and found that my only problem with their menu is deciding which dish to try next. there are so many selections to chose from. i've rated fil cuisine 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) they need a bigger eating area. there's always customers there, whether taking out or dining in. i suggest to pre-order if you have the time to. 2) the second reason why i rated them 4/5 stars, is because i dont want to hurt my mom's feelings ;) thank you fil cuisine, for making my life easier. for when it usually takes me 4 hours to enjoy a hot plate of kare kare, it's now only a 20 min wait away.

This is the first Filipino restaurant I've ever tried. I normally wouldn't go to one because I'm Filipino and I could just get it at home for free! But alas, I live too far from mom's now and was craving for something hearty today. I ordered the kare-kare and it was spot on. It tasted just like my grandma's cooking. They have the rice and meal ratio down, too. I love my rice and I'm so glad they give out medium bowls of it with the dish. It was more than enough. I ordered the lumpia as well. It was alright but it seemed like it came from one of those pre-made bags you get from grocery stores. The turon was good, too, but I'm used to it being sweeter and the banana wasn't the soft texture I'm accustomed to. However, I am sure the main dishes are as savoury and delicious as the the kare-kare that I tried today. I am definitely going back again to try them out. The owner (I believe that was him) was very friendly and already knew I was Filipino and therefore spoke to me in Tagalog, although I am ashamed to say my Tagalog isn't up to par. The place is nice and simple. I arrived on a Saturday night but it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. Anyways, the food's great! Definitely check it out.

Our favorite Sunday stop after church! Love their CRISPY PATA, the best! CRISPY and tender, melts in your mouth! We also love their BEEF MECHADO. Kare-kare is OK, not so tender and we've tried it 3 different times, same way cooked each time. Wish they can make the meat fall off the bones just like how my mom and aunt make it. The 'bistek' is good, too! Very tender and tasty. We've also had their longsilog and bangsilog for breakfast...very good as well. This place has been our favorite Filipino restaurant especially it's close to where we live in Kent. Beats driving to Southcenter where everybody talks about and go to Chowking, Jollibee and Seafood City. Parking is easy. Fil Cuisine is great if you live south of Tukwila. I wish they only have more tables. But it's OK, there's always a table for us when we visit. The staff is wonderful as well, very friendly family-oriented folks.

OK, so I used to work with a Filipino girl and her mom made great pancit. I happened to see this restaurant while looking for the post office one day, and thought "hey, pancit, yum." Been having a craving for awhile, so I was in the area again and decided to have a try. I ordered pancit bihon w/ 2 pork lumpia. Very good pancit I must say!! Just the right amount of everything, and I'm no expert since I'm not Filipino myself, but it was every bit as delicious as the pancit my friends mom made. I did only give 4 stars only because to me the lumpia was just "OK." Now I did take my order to go, so had I stayed and the lumpia was crispier it might have been better, but I also like a little cabbage and noodles in my lumpia, and it seemed these were all pork inside. There were 2 cute little old ladies doing the cooking in the kitchen, so the previous post was probably right, it tastes likes moms cooking, cause mom actually is cooking. The man working the counter was also very nice, answered any questions that anyone coming in had about the food, and even gave me and another customer a small taste of the machado, which was on the specials for the day. The one thing I did notice is that they have a pretty small regular menu, and then a white board inside which has many specials on it. Now I dont know how frequently they change it, whether its daily or what. But there was as many specials on the board as on the menu. I will definitely be coming back to try the adobo, another of my favorites :)

Kudos to the guy and his mom for serving excellent home style filipino meals - the beef machado is my all time favorite - its worth a visit to try some of the super flavorfilled yummies and Halo Halo for dessert - oh so Yummmmy... brought my mom and dad here on separate occasions and both prounounced the food as Sarap ~!!

I was very disappointed with the service and food I received at Fil Cuisine. Ordered 2 dishes, sinigang and kare-kare and was told it would take 5 minutes. It took 30 minutes to get my food and once I got home to eat my sinigang, I found nothing but pork in the soup one tomato and a piece of carrot. Who puts carrots in their sinigang? What happened to the citaw and greens?!? I kept digging to the bottom of container and found 1 piece of green and no sign of citaw. I called the restaurant to be further disappointed by their customer service. The person told me "well come back and get your money". This is the first and last time I will ever step foot in that restaurant. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I'm glad Fil Cuisine is just minutes away from my home. My favorite dish are Lechon kawali, PALABOK and Mechado. We always order turon also. My family loves ordering at Fil Cuisine. YUM! As you know, we don't have many Filipino restaurants out here, so I was so excited when I found this one (me being Filipino and all). Took my boyfriend here for dinner and we loved it! Homecooked Filipino food is always so yummy and hardly ever leaves a bad taste in your mouth. It's a quicker-type restaurant, where you can either order @ the counter, or they'll serve you sitting down. The menu is extensive and has a high variety of Filipino dishes, with anything from Chicken Adobo to Panakbet, and they also have desserts (sweet rice and halo-halo, mmmm). I mean nothing beats ACTUAL home cooked food from your parents, but this hits pretty close ;)

Our go to place for filipino food. Okay granted I can probably make this food at home but frankly I just don't wanna. It's too much work! And don't let me get started on the ingredient list. I digress... We always order lechon kawali. Perfect ratio of fat and juicy pork goodness. Order the lon-si-log (I think that's how u spell it) the longanisa is made in-house and so delicious! Hubs fave is their caldereta. Get your Filipino food fix here instead of Seafood City. Seriously.

For a random hole in the wall place, this is an amazing gem. The food is high quality, very flavorful and plentiful at a reasonable cost. It reminds me of the same yummy food that comes out of my families kitchens. I love it, and we won't hesitate to come back!

The food here is really good and service is great as well. Make sure to try their halo halo because for me it beats any halo halo I've had so far in the state. Expect longer wait times on the weekends, they are really popular. One time we went and got a table, but it was the very end in the back and was forgotten lol! About half an hour of waiting we just walked out because we had an appointment elsewhere, but we still go back when we are in the area. The food is worth it!

Kent, WA: Ube ice cream in Kent!! Who would've thought that Kent had ube (fragrant purple yam) ice cream! My serving was consumed in its entirety while I awaited my takeout orders. I love doing dessert first. A big "Thank You!" to yelp pal Shelley H. for flagging this location and making it a fantastic afternoon! FOOD Pork Lumpia Family sized Chicken Adobo Family sized Chicken Pancit Bihon Family sized order of white rice 2 cups of Ube Ice Cream Tasty and mild describes the Chicken Adobo and Chicken Pancit as both were nicely flavored and not just soy sauce salty. The chicken meat was amazingly tender, melting in my mouth. I learned that there are two forms of pancit noodles, the bihon form I ordered using rice sticks noodles, and Canton which uses wheat noodles. Buying the Family sized portions was the way to go to feed three generously. Rice was cooked tender and fluffy too, a great long grain white. We'll be back. My yelp pal Momo B. saw the Pork Lumpia photo and aptly described them as a good cigar size. They were savory, light and crispy! And back to that ube ice cream. Yelp pal Edwin R. had placed a nugget in my "to try" list when he first posted a photo of 'Halo Halo', a super sweet Filipino dessert treat utilizing ube ice cream. As I was looking for mildly sweet, the plain ice cream filled the bill perfectly! Yelp and Yelp pals Shelley, Momo, and Edwin, thanks for some memorable eats!!! [And Eric, thanks for being co-pilot in 'maneuvering our way' to Shelley's ;)]

Wish we had one of these up north! My sister and I were craving a Pinoy breakfast and this restaurant hit the spot! Tosilog, longsilog, lumpia and turon!! All was delicious, service was pleasant and the prices were reasonable!

So we've been here once before (probably a year ago when we first moved to Washington) and ordered too much food! (We hadn't had Filipino Food in awhile... Since Colorado doesn't have any decent Filipino Restaurants). It was good a year ago, so now that we are moving again, we decided to come back here to get our Filipino Fix! So glad we did because my oh my... The food and service once again did not disappoint! Before I start with the food, let me say the staff are so nice and friendly too! :) We learned our lesson from last time, to order smaller portions. So hubby got a Tosilog bowl, I ordered a Pinakbet bowl, hubby & I shared a Kare Kare plate, & the kids shared Veggie Lumpia & Pancit Canton. It was just the right amount of food! We wish the Pancit Canton came in a smaller portion, as my kids couldn't finish it (also, with Pancit Canton, it was a bit on the salty for their taste, we probably should have ordered the Pancit Malabon for them). All the food was delicious otherwise. Love that the food isn't so salty. Kare Kare was so good! Yes, it needs a bit of the shrimp bagoong, and can I tell you the shrimp bagoong is so good too! The Pinakbet is on point! I'm preggers and holy smokes I was in heaven! And it comes with a good portion of steamed white rice! (I'd totally get it again!) My hubby loved the Tosilog! If we were still hungry, we would have shared a Halo Halo! Overall, we got our Filipino Food fix! We left satisfied and not overly full. Everything was so good! Hubby and I were thinking if we should stop by one more time before we move out of state. Seriously, we haven't had Filipino food at a restaurant this good in about 4 years (since we moved from California). We are Filipino, and yes I could cook Filipino food, and so can my mom and Lola, but geez, why cook if you can just come here!?

The best filipino food in the area! I've tried many different places & this is by far the closest to moms cooking! We ordered arroz caldo which was very flavorful my son enjoyed it, kare kare came with 3 huge pieces of oxtail which I loved! (alot of places use beef chunks) & also had lots of veggies, caldereta was very tender & tasty, but my absolute favorite was the lechon kawali! I do admit it was pretty oily... Of course it's side pork haha, still addicting especially the skin oh and of course to top it all off a side of garlic fried rice! Yum! Portion wise was pretty decent we barley finished half of everything & it wasn't even the family size! Paid about 50$ including tip totally worth it. The only thing I would say that wasn't too great about this place is the service, kind of slow. Not a big deal though cause the servers are super friendly! Definitely coming back to try the other food!

Only Filipino restaurant I've tried in Washington, and I will suggest Fil Cuisine to friends, family and coworkers with confidence. Been here only a few times. Had their longanisa, pancit, lumpia, some sort of grilled chicken (can't remember the name, my mom ordered it), and a fried pork belly dish with two different dipping sauces (again, don't remember the name...). All were delicious. Nothing short of the flavors I had in the Philippines, and I expect the same can be said for the rest of their menu. I fancy the breakfast items, though newcomers to Filipino cuisine may find the combination of fried egg and garlic rice off-putting (tasty... especially with longanisa, in my opinion). Suggestion for everyone: order halo-halo. It's a cold drink, the base being very shaved ice, milk, with sweet beans, fruits and bits of candy on the bottom. Normally the ube, a purple yam, is in paste form on the bottom with the mix ins, but at Fil Cuisine they serve ube ice cream on top. Just mix everything up, then enjoy your chilled yummy dessert!

I was visiting from San Francisco and had a craving for Filipino food. I found this place on Yelp! and decided to give it a try. This is the second time my boyfriend (who is Persian) had Filipino food, the first time he had Tosilog (which is a no-brainer that he loved it) so I wanted him to try more of our main dishes. We ordered the Chicken Adobo and Kare-Kare. He loved both of them. We also had the Cantaloupe Juice. The food is very flavorful and the service is friendly, although at times I felt they were a little scattered. If you're looking for a good Filipino food fix, this is definitely the place to go. Oh yes, we also had the Pork Lumpia which was hot and crispy :)

So this is hard for me to review.... This place is ten times better then jollybee, chow king and the food in seafood city, but for what we paid I'm not sure we will be coming back. My husband and I ordered: Grill fish 10.99 Tosilog 7.99 Longonisa Halo halo 5.49 Lumpia 2.99 Garlic rice 2.00 Calamansi juice 2.00 I'm not sure how much she charged me for the side of longonisa since it wasn't a meal, but only 4 sausage links (no rice or egg) but somehow our total came out to 40+ dollars! It's sad cause my husband really liked the fish, but I can't justify paying almost $50 (with tip) for this place.

And we found a WINNER! The best Filipino restaurant in my book. Let me back up here a bit.... I recently move to Seattle from Los Angeles, a town where there is a huge concentration of the Filipino community. Even though, you'd think that there would be awesome Filipino spots in Los Angeles to eat sit down Filipino food. Aside from the big chain Gerry's Grill in Artesia (CA), most sit down Filipino foods were blah, and the rest are the typical "turo-turo" style which in our culture essentially means the food are prepared ahead and sits in a heated tray, ready to be ordered to go. While that is convenient for some days, it bugs me that I couldn't find a nice and quality sit down spot for Filipino food where food is made as you order, a nice restaurant you can sit in and spend time with family or friends. Little did I know that I will find such treasure about 2,000 miles north of Los Angeles, here in my new town of greater Seattle area. Sitting in the quiet town of Kent, WA is this AMAZING Filipino restaurant called Fil Cuisine. Being born and raised with Filipino food, I can tell you... this place is LEGIT. I say it's the next best thing to my Mom's homemade cooking. Best of all, the food is prepared by trained chefs, made to order (not like the usual other Filipino type restaurants -- see previous paragraph). So, let's talk about the EXPERIENCE first. Walked in to this clean and bright restaurant and was welcomed by really friendly employees. As a friendly acknowledgement, I asked in our native language "Ate [Tagalog word for older sister, sign of respect], what's good here?" She proudly and heartily responded, "Everything!" :) Restaurant itself is good-sized; they have two TV monitors up in their counter featuring mouthwatering slideshows of the food they serve. And of course, the FOOD. As "Ate" stated, everything was good and did not disappoint. We couldn't decide from the colorful menu what to order as everything looked so inviting and enticing (bonus points for amazing food photography for the menu!). Husband and I decide to order my favorite pork sinigang, his favorite lechon kawali, and because we felt "guilty" with all of the pork, we ordered vegetable lumpia on the side (our shy excuse of adding veggies to our meal, lol). 1. My favorite: Pork Sinigang - Spare ribs and brisket in tamarind-based soup with greens, daikon radish, and green beans. Comes in regular size (enough for 2 people) or family size. My childhood favorite dish, and heaven in a bowl, I say. Pork was so tender it strips off the bone so easily and nearly melts in your mouth with the steamed rice. Tamarind soup base was just right (although personally I would add more sourness to it if I could-- just my personal preference). 2. Hubby's favorite: Lechon Kawali - roasted and deep fried pork belly. Comes in regular or family size as well. Crunchy and fatty good... the type that you have to stop yourself on eating the whole thing just to watch your cholesterol, but you make excuses and say eh, "just this once" because it's so so good. 3. Vegetable Lumpia - 4 large pieces of vegetable egg roll for under $4. Pretty good too, although I've spent most of my palate's attention to my ever favorite pork sinigang. Regular orders of the meal comes with a bowl of steamed rice already which was more than enough for the two of us. All in all, we paid $25 before tip, which I think is totally not bad for the quality and taste of the food. So, the verdict? Needless to say, 5 out of 5 stars. Homemade goodness, friendly team, clean restaurant, food made to order -- so so happy we discovered this place and you can count on us coming back! :)

4.5 stars! If you are looking for some Filipino cuisine that reminds you of the time back in the Philippines, look no further! Fil Cuisine seems to offer a good variety of not just typical breakfast plates like long si log and lumpia but also other dishes like Le Chon that may be able to satisfy your food craving. Although I'm not Filipino, I figure the place must be quite good. Not only is this place run by Filipinos, most of the customers are Filipinos, too. We ordered chicken adobo, pork lumpia, lechon and chicken adobo fried rice and we really enjoyed our meal. The chicken adobo came with garlic rice that was strong and aromatic...very satisfying. Note that the dish is quite large, so if you aren't too hungry, the affodoBOWL option should be good for you. If not, the regular size is definitely a good one to share as well (honestly, I can't imagine how big the family size would be...we only ordered a mix of affordoBOWL and regular sized dishes). Service was attentive and staff was friendly. Prices were very reasonable (we ordered 4 dishes and it came to just $37...and we still had an equivalent of 2-3 leftover meals to take home!). Parking was also easy (it's inside a strip mall, so there's plenty of parking!). We kept seeing Filipinos families either walking in to dine there or simply to large take outs. It must be quite good according to Filipino standards. I wouldn't mind stopping by this place again at all. Perhaps, next time I will try their halo halo drink (milk with assorted toppings including ube ice cream!).

My first time eating here was great :) the waitress was very polite! She reminded me of how hosts are in the Philippines, outstanding hospitality! Our food was delicious and service was fast. The restaurant itself was very tidy, clean, and roomy. I love their pay service! It was different from other restaurants :) will be coming back soon for sure!!!

It's probably one of the better Filipino restaurants around the Puget Sound outside making it yourself or your Nanay's home cooking. I recommend the crispy pata, the sinigang and their various "xxx-si-log" dishes.

I would give the food a 3.5 to a 5 depending on what you order. The major con of this place is the location. I grew up in Kent as a boy and knew the area where this restaurant is as a boy and I won't say it was the nicest place but it's became one of the worst pockets in Kent, if not the worst. Even the 7-11 next door relocated half a mile down the street! Now, I like the owners and the staff here, they are nice and try to please you. I proposed here and called a day in advance to arrange it. The engagement went perfectly! My fiancée is Pinay, and was born in PI and her & her sisters enjoy some of the food here. I personally wish they had dinuguan (red ribbon does!) but oh well... I wish this restaurant would relocate to a better area of Kent or to the Lea Hill area of Auburn. When I go here you can be sure I'm packing and facing the door in case something goes down.

I honestly don't understand what the huge deal is with Kare Kare. Not my favorite Filipino dish, but it's okayyyy. At least Fil Cuisine's Kare Kare is. It's a bit bland. I ordered to-go and it came with only two chunks of meat. This dish also needed more salt. I love the slices of eggplant and the bok choy, but again, this is not my favorite.

This place gives lots of food at cheap prices. Each item on the menu has three options: bowl, regular, and family priced at $6, $10, and $15 approximately. The bowl size is perfect for a satisfying meal, if not more than you need. It was my first time eating Filipino and my favorite of the three items we ordered was the pork adobo - fatty pork in a rich sauce over rice - very good. Overall affordable and delicious.

There are not many Filipino restaurants in the Seattle area. Usually, these places specialize in one or few dishes or have some sort of good deal. I can say, without hesitation, that Fil Cusine is the best Filipino restaurant in the area because all their dishes are equally delicious. I came here with two other people on a Sunday evening, about 30 min before closing. Even though they advertise that they close at 7pm, we were still welcomed with open arms, and were busy serving a full restaurant. Fil Cuisine has a decent selection of food on the menu and serve it in two sizes: regular and family style. For those looking for diniguan or palabok, unfortunately you cannot find these dishes at Fil Cuisine. Anyhoo, this is what our party of 3 ordered. Everything was family style...hahaha yeah please don't judge us. We have been deprived from our parents' cooking for awhile now: Chicaron Fried pork skin that is prepared by order! This was still poppin when it was served to us. Let it cool down for a bit and it is just amazing. Once you try this, it will be hard to go back to bagged chicaron. I can only imaging if they actually served palabok and topped it with fresh chicaron. Mmmmm! Mixed Pancit My friend wanted pancit bihon while the rest wanted pancit canton so we settled on the mixed pancit to make everyone happy. I love the mixed pancit here because it looked like even portions of the bihon and canton. I normally don't like bihon noodles since they can be dry or greasy but Fil Cuisine does it right. This is the best pancit I've had in WA, which had lots of flavor and did not taste greasy or feel heavy. Even my bf agrees with me and he hates pancit (I know, hard to believe right?). Although the menu asks to select either chicken, pork or shrimp, they were happy to add all 3 in our pancit. So sarap! Kare Kare Ox tail stewed in peanut sauce. I love the sauce and it was at a good consistency: not too thick or watery. There's so much of it and I just can eat that and rice. The ox tail just fell off the bone and I love how the veggies in this were not overcooked and still had a slight crisp to it. Crispy Pata Nice and crispy! Although I think Inay's serves some tasty (and generous) pata, I think Fil Cuisine does it pretty well. All of this food (and yes we had enough for leftovers for everyone) was $20 a person. While it did take awhile to get our food, the service is top notch. The owner apologized for the wait and told us that when they're not busy, the food is even better. Well if my friends and I thought this was the best Filipino food we had in the area, I can't imagine it being even better! He also gave us a slice of casava cake to enjoy on the house and was so good! I really can't find a way to dock this place so 5 stars it is!
